- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:04Speaker 1: six forty and now Handle on the news. Ladies and gentlemen,
- 0:17Speaker 1: here's Bill Handle.
- 0:21Speaker 2: It is a Tuesday morning, May twenty six, the unofficial
- 0:27Speaker 2: day of summer has begun. Been very nice for us
- 0:33Speaker 2: over the last few days. It's been actually delightful weatherwise,
- 0:37Speaker 2: not so good on the East Coast. So those people
- 0:40Speaker 2: that jumped in the car, which is you know, for
- 0:43Speaker 2: a Memorial Day weekend, they got a little bit of
- 0:46Speaker 2: water in the East Coast and gasoline was very expensive,
- 0:49Speaker 2: so you know, all the way around, it's been a
- 0:52Speaker 2: memorable Memorial Day. Okay, hello to the crowd, Will good morning,
- 0:57Speaker 2: Good morning Bill, Okay, cono, Hello Bill. Oh, Neil, I
- 1:05Speaker 2: didn't hear you, Neil, microphone on?
- 1:07Speaker 3: Yeah, it's on.
- 1:08Speaker 4: Okay, Neil, is what next?
- 1:11Speaker 2: Monday is your last day for a little while because
- 1:16Speaker 2: you are undergoing a subsequent circoncision. I understand, letting your touch.
- 1:21Speaker 5: Up just a little off the top. Oh yeah, I
- 1:25Speaker 5: want to get a mullet.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Yeah, a little lop off. Yeah.
- 1:28Speaker 4: So anyway, Neil's gonna be gone for about a week.
- 1:31Speaker 3: And yeah, I think that we'll see how it goes.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I'm getting very after surgery.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Yeah, having done that, having done that, what twenty five
- 1:39Speaker 2: years ago, I'm obviously a big fan.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Amy.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Good morning, Hi, how are you? Yeah, it's a bit, Yes,
- 1:47Speaker 2: it was fun this week and doing absolutely nothing, and yeah,
- 1:51Speaker 2: I think all of us. I don't think anybody went
- 1:53Speaker 2: any place. And did you go any place? Nope?
- 1:56Speaker 6: I stayed home and enjoyed and relaxed.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yeah, Neil any place I worked? Oh yeah, there's that too.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Amy didn't go any place, right.
- 2:06Speaker 6: Nope, just did some stuff around.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Yeah, friends, right and Cono.
- 2:12Speaker 4: You couldn't afford to go any place even if you
- 2:13Speaker 4: wanted to.
- 2:15Speaker 3: On to the beach, really, and I went to the
- 2:17Speaker 3: Angel game.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Okay, well all right, I mean that's so gay. So
- 2:23Speaker 2: he did his stuff, and I don't think anybody else
- 2:24Speaker 2: did will did you do anything?
- 2:26Speaker 4: I also went to the beach and I worked yesterday.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Oh yeah, so.
- 2:29Speaker 4: You went to the did you hang out at the beach?
- 2:32Speaker 5: Well?
- 2:32Speaker 3: I rode my bike.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Oh did you put your sand yourself on a towel
- 2:37Speaker 2: in the sand? No, I just rode. Yeah, Indian hard
- 2:41Speaker 2: to ride. So again, last time you did that on
- 2:43Speaker 2: the beach, people were poking at you with a stick,
- 2:45Speaker 2: and I understand that it's a little problematic. Okay, Now, oh,
- 2:54Speaker 2: this morning a little bit of Donald Trump news. Nothing, nothing,
- 2:59Speaker 2: world the shouting. But he's going in for his physical
- 3:02Speaker 2: exam this morning, his annual physical exam.
- 3:04Speaker 6: CNN's got his breaking news. Trump arrives at Walter Reed
- 3:08Speaker 6: breaking news.
- 3:09Speaker 2: The doctors I know last year just to tell him
- 3:12Speaker 2: he's hugely perfect. Yes, exactly what was last year?
- 3:16Speaker 6: Ever?
- 3:16Speaker 2: Yeah, last year his doctor said he is the fittest
- 3:20Speaker 2: president we've ever had, and I think this year is
- 3:24Speaker 2: probably going to be he is the fittest American that
- 3:28Speaker 2: we have in the country. And then the last one, uh,
- 3:32Speaker 2: his last physical, he will be the fittest man in
- 3:35Speaker 2: the world. So two hundred and twenty four pounds, so
- 3:39Speaker 2: he's a little bit overweight. But he's big too. I
- 3:41Speaker 2: think he's sixty three, isn't he.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Oh he's a tall guy.
- 3:44Speaker 4: Yeah, he's he's a big guy. He's pretty tall.
- 3:47Speaker 2: But there's no way he's what did you say to what?
- 3:50Speaker 2: Two twenty four is what they're saying, don't we wait?
- 3:54Speaker 2: He's two twenty four.
- 3:55Speaker 5: Six two six four whatever, two hundred and twenty four pounds.
- 4:00Speaker 3: No way.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:03Speaker 2: By the way, two hundred and twenty four pounds is
- 4:06Speaker 2: a thigh and they, yeah, all right, so much for that.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Oh no, he's not slim, but he is the fittest president.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Now.
- 4:15Speaker 2: You saw a president Obama pretty thin, you know, pretty
- 4:20Speaker 2: wiry and pretty physical. And you have seen the video
- 4:24Speaker 2: of him playing basketball. Obama, I mean he's pretty good.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Now can you imagine Donald Trump playing basketball in shorts
- 4:34Speaker 2: and in jersey w like you know, his seat oh
- 4:39Speaker 2: wa was unbelievable. He would run I mean, he would
- 4:41Speaker 2: run ten twelve miles. Today the Secret Service guys in
- 4:44Speaker 2: their twenties couldn't keep up with him, and he was
- 4:47Speaker 2: in his fifties.
- 4:48Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Yeah, So there, let's say that there may have been
- 4:52Speaker 2: presidents that were a touch more in shape than Donald Trump.
- 4:55Speaker 2: I can't even imagine Trump bowling.
- 4:57Speaker 6: He doesn't.
- 4:58Speaker 2: He golfs golf.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Yeah, he does golf.
- 5:01Speaker 6: He does golf.
- 5:02Speaker 4: Well, yeah, a golf cart, yeah.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Richard Nixon, Richard Nixon, Richard Nixon Bold.
- 5:10Speaker 6: That's about bowling alley in the White House, didn't he did?
- 5:13Speaker 2: Yeah, two lanes. He put a bowling alley and he's
- 5:15Speaker 2: the one, uh.
- 5:16Speaker 7: Dare he put a bully all Lloyd approval that I
- 5:20Speaker 7: think Wichard Nixon is that the situation room was put
- 5:22Speaker 7: into place that because that was where the swimming pool was,
- 5:25Speaker 7: where the White House press room, where the swimming pool was.
- 5:28Speaker 4: John F.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Kennedy had the swimming pool where he would swim naked
- 5:32Speaker 2: with uh guests of his usually twenty year olds with
- 5:38Speaker 2: big bazooms. Okay, I think we're ready to go, guys, Yes, no, yes,
- 5:46Speaker 2: time for handle on.
- 5:46Speaker 4: The news with.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Amy neil Me lead story. Well, at the risk of
- 5:54Speaker 2: that catastrophic explosion in a chemical plant, I think in Hawthorne,
- 5:59Speaker 2: Hawthorne is or.
- 6:00Speaker 4: A garden grove is over the risk of the explosion.
- 6:03Speaker 2: But still, as Amy reported this morning, I think the
- 6:07Speaker 2: sixteen thousand of fifty thousand are now evacuated. The rest
- 6:12Speaker 2: are not, and it would Disneyland was only four miles away.
- 6:20Speaker 2: I mean, can you imagine them now having methyl meth
- 6:25Speaker 2: the cry late land. Okay, there's not much more to
- 6:31Speaker 2: say other than the big risk is over and had
- 6:35Speaker 2: it exploded, that would have been a disaster because this
- 6:39Speaker 2: is a very very toxic chemical.
- 6:43Speaker 6: So hats off to the first responders who kept it
- 6:45Speaker 6: from happening.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Yeah, man, I think they're called firemen or firefires fighters.
- 6:52Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I think that's basically Yet there was just a.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Lot of water being poured on it, and I wonder
- 6:57Speaker 2: if employees went in there do valves and things home?
- 7:01Speaker 4: No idea. Okay, enough of that.
- 7:05Speaker 6: Not on offense. US Central Command said it conducted self
- 7:10Speaker 6: defense strikes in Southern Iran. Captain Tim Hawkins is a
- 7:14Speaker 6: spokesperson for Sentcom and said they were carried out to
- 7:18Speaker 6: protect our troops from threats posed by Iranian forces. Those
- 7:22Speaker 6: targets included some missile launch sites in southern Iran and
- 7:25Speaker 6: also some Iranian boats trying to put mines in the
- 7:30Speaker 6: Straight of horm Moves.
- 7:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I mean, think of this.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Once the Straight of hor Moves opens up, I mean,
- 7:38Speaker 2: there'll be some kind of a deal cut with the Iranians.
- 7:41Speaker 4: There has to be.
- 7:42Speaker 2: And so one of the first things going to happen
- 7:45Speaker 2: is the Straight of Hormones are going to open up.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Just to get rid of the mines is going to
- 7:50Speaker 2: take probably weeks. And then you have the ships. People
- 7:55Speaker 2: think that as soon as the strait is going to
- 7:57Speaker 2: be opened up, oh boy, the ships start coming through
- 7:59Speaker 2: that's not the case, because you have the ships that
- 8:02Speaker 2: are reluctant because of the mines, and you have insurance
- 8:05Speaker 2: companies that ensure the ships that are saying, wait a minute,
- 8:10Speaker 2: so it's gonna take a lot longer than would people think. Okay,
- 8:15Speaker 2: so one more and we'll take our break.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Benveninos.
- 8:19Speaker 5: Mexican President Claudia Shinbaum said just yesterday her government is
- 8:26Speaker 5: all for the Iranian national soccer team to stay in
- 8:31Speaker 5: Mexico during the World Cup. She says, we have no
- 8:33Speaker 5: reason to deny them the possibility of staying in Mexico
- 8:37Speaker 5: because we want we don't want to host them here.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Well, they're playing, going to play, we just can't can't
- 8:44Speaker 2: host them. So I think they're going to just camp
- 8:47Speaker 2: out in Tijuana, Tijuana, and they will then be I
- 8:51Speaker 2: assume bust up to that's the US seed, bust up
- 8:56Speaker 2: to play the game and then brought back down to Mexico.
- 9:00Speaker 2: I'm wondering how the audience, the fans are going to
- 9:04Speaker 2: treat the Iranian team. I'm hoping they treat them well
- 9:10Speaker 2: and don't put the politics and the war in the
- 9:14Speaker 2: middle of watching a soccer game a World Cup.
- 9:19Speaker 6: I think don't you think they will?
- 9:20Speaker 2: I mean, like, I hope, yeah, I know, I hope so.
- 9:25Speaker 2: But then look when the hostages were taken during if
- 9:29Speaker 2: you remember, was it during the revolution, when Iran came over,
- 9:35Speaker 2: It was not good to be an Iranian. When Suddam
- 9:38Speaker 2: Hussein did his crazy stuff, it was not good to
- 9:41Speaker 2: be iraqis the United States, the people of the United
- 9:43Speaker 2: States do not treat those folks well, or havn't historically.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Hopefully it'll be better this time around.
- 9:49Speaker 6: All right, the Magnifica humaney, I don't know if I'm
- 9:54Speaker 6: pronouncing that right. Pop Leo has called for stronger regulation
- 9:58Speaker 6: and a slower pace of artificial intelligence advantage. It's in
- 10:03Speaker 6: that Magnifica Human intest. It's a theological document released yesterday
- 10:10Speaker 6: warning that technology is fueling and normalizing conflict around the world.
- 10:14Speaker 6: Leo warned that AI should not be concentrated in the
- 10:18Speaker 6: hands of only a few, and also called for disarming AI.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Yeah, this is really interesting.
- 10:28Speaker 2: This is an encyclical, which is something that Pope's release.
- 10:34Speaker 2: And they're big deals in the Catholic religion. And I'll
- 10:38Speaker 2: explain that coming up at seven thirty. And Okay, I
- 10:43Speaker 2: was just about to make a joke about pote Leo
- 10:45Speaker 2: in Japan, but I'm not going to. Okay, see I edited,
- 10:51Speaker 2: self edited. Okay, thank you very much. Fortunately now I'm curious.
- 10:56Speaker 5: But AnyWho, all right, yeah, so, you know, doing the
- 11:01Speaker 5: Fork Report on Saturday, as a story came out about
- 11:05Speaker 5: the gunfire at the White House and apparently a bystander
- 11:10Speaker 5: was struck by the gunfire after that man fired at
- 11:14Speaker 5: the checkpoint outside the White House. The individual that was
- 11:18Speaker 5: doing the shooting was fatally shot. But also there was
- 11:23Speaker 5: this person who was shot as well. They're not really
- 11:26Speaker 5: saying much said the bystander not identified suffered a gunshot
- 11:31Speaker 5: women described as non life threatening, but it doesn't describe
- 11:36Speaker 5: how the person was shot, who they are, any of that.
- 11:40Speaker 2: And the President is using that as an example of
- 11:44Speaker 2: why we should spend taxpayers to spend a billion dollars
- 11:48Speaker 2: on the security of the new ballroom, although when you figure,
- 11:55Speaker 2: you know, with the current security, seems it seems like
- 11:59Speaker 2: it worked.
- 12:02Speaker 3: I'm not sure how the ballroom would have change.
- 12:04Speaker 2: I don't either. I don't either, but hey, who knows.
- 12:08Speaker 2: But anyway, I think that's one of the points as
- 12:11Speaker 2: the President is scrambling to as a matter of fact,
- 12:14Speaker 2: justify the ballroom, which is going to happen, and will
- 12:16Speaker 2: it be a billion dollar spent on it? It will?
- 12:21Speaker 6: A hack from half a world away. Apparently, Iranian hackers
- 12:26Speaker 6: were responsible for a computer breach in March that forced
- 12:31Speaker 6: LA's transit system to shut down parts of its network.
- 12:35Speaker 6: Israeli researchers say they've traced this and show that saboteurs
- 12:40Speaker 6: stole at least seven hundred gigabytes of emails, backups, and
- 12:43Speaker 6: other files from the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
- 12:48Speaker 6: Their trail of evidence led them back to Tehran and
- 12:52Speaker 6: a hacking group there.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Yeah, question, whenever you have a hack where such an
- 12:57Speaker 2: enormous amount of information is stolen, how do they do
- 13:02Speaker 2: it with just parts of the system and not other
- 13:05Speaker 2: parts of the system, different programs? Is it because security
- 13:10Speaker 2: one part of it is more secure than the other,
- 13:13Speaker 2: Because I would have thought that once you hack into it,
- 13:15Speaker 2: you get all the information you know you can stop.
- 13:19Speaker 4: But cold kind.
- 13:21Speaker 5: Of imagine it more like a building. You can break
- 13:25Speaker 5: into the first door of the building and then there
- 13:28Speaker 5: can still be multiple doors with different security throughout the building.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Yeah, that was my question.
- 13:34Speaker 2: So effectively, it is its segregated, these various programs that
- 13:38Speaker 2: run even a single organization, they're segregated.
- 13:43Speaker 5: Yeah, either by security or by design, like just happenstance,
- 13:49Speaker 5: oil plummets, so Secretary of State Marco Rubio Little Marco
- 13:55Speaker 5: said yesterday that the US could have some news to announce,
- 13:58Speaker 5: maybe even today, didn't come out yet, but a deal
- 14:02Speaker 5: with Iran, which would be a big deal. He reiterated
- 14:08Speaker 5: President Trump's remarks about not being in a hurry.
- 14:12Speaker 3: We're still in play.
- 14:14Speaker 5: But yeah, this affected oil prices plummeting, global stocks soaring.
- 14:23Speaker 5: So we'll see how it plays out. Because you know,
- 14:28Speaker 5: we haven't heard anything back from what I know from Iran.
- 14:32Speaker 2: We're getting different stories. How unusual in what is going on.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Iran saying one thing, the US is saying something else,
- 14:39Speaker 2: although both sides have said we are moving in the
- 14:42Speaker 2: right direction. And anytime even that is uttered, the stock
- 14:47Speaker 2: market reacts and the price of oil goes down or
- 14:50Speaker 2: goes up. And you've noticed that there really is no
- 14:53Speaker 2: timeline anymore it used to be. If Iran doesn't come
- 14:56Speaker 2: to the table, doesn't stop its nuclear enrichment, you've got
- 15:01Speaker 2: until Wednesday night. You have okay, Wednesday past, you have
- 15:04Speaker 2: until Friday night. Okay, you have until Saturday afternoon at
- 15:09Speaker 2: two o'clock. Okay, maybe it's next week. Timelines are gone,
- 15:15Speaker 2: and now is simply a question of if Iran doesn't
- 15:18Speaker 2: come to the table soon, this thing is going to
- 15:22Speaker 2: blow up.
- 15:24Speaker 5: In the contrary on this story, it said, you know,
- 15:28Speaker 5: the reiteration was that President Donald Trump's remarks about not
- 15:31Speaker 5: being in a hurry.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Yeah, which is very strange because they're pushing the fact
- 15:38Speaker 2: that talks are happening right now. So yeah, I don't
- 15:42Speaker 2: get it. We've gone from hurry to not hurry to
- 15:46Speaker 2: what is going on. There were some attacks that the
- 15:50Speaker 2: US just made over the last couple of days and
- 15:54Speaker 2: attacking certain what command control I think ships that were
- 16:00Speaker 2: going out, small ships, those a little what looks like
- 16:03Speaker 2: fishing ships, fishing boats, delaying mines, any major boat. I mean,
- 16:08Speaker 2: the navy, as per President Trump, has effectively been decimated,
- 16:13Speaker 2: which is true. So now it's still way up in
- 16:17Speaker 2: the air, but anything, Yeah, piece is here. Boom. Oil
- 16:21Speaker 2: goes down dramatically. We're near piece. Oil goes down, Okay,
- 16:26Speaker 2: we're not near peace. Oil prices go up, so right now,
- 16:30Speaker 2: they've dropped what they're under one hundred dollars.
- 16:32Speaker 6: The futures before the stock market opens in a couple
- 16:35Speaker 6: of minutes. They're saying crude oil is at ninety two
- 16:38Speaker 6: to ninety one a barrel.
- 16:40Speaker 4: Okay, that's that's fairly low.
- 16:42Speaker 2: That's ten percent down from it was what one hundred
- 16:45Speaker 2: and three hundred and four.
- 16:47Speaker 4: Just a week ago. Okay?
- 16:50Speaker 6: Could the Big Easy be the next Atlantis? Maybe? Coastal
- 16:55Speaker 6: Louisiana apparently faces sea level rise of ten to twenty
- 17:00Speaker 6: three feet, according to an analysis published in May and
- 17:02Speaker 6: the Journal's Nature Sustainability, the impacts will be bleak. According
- 17:08Speaker 6: to the journal, seventy five percent of the remaining wetlands
- 17:12Speaker 6: around Louisia around the Big Easy will be lost. The
- 17:16Speaker 6: shoreline could retreat inland up to sixty two miles. They
- 17:21Speaker 6: say the region has crossed the point of no return,
- 17:24Speaker 6: and the analysts are saying that New Orleans should start
- 17:28Speaker 6: the relocation process to avoid chaos.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Now, you know, it's not all bad. If you are
- 17:34Speaker 2: in the diving business, like selling scuba gear, You're going
- 17:37Speaker 2: to do just fine. It's not the end of the world,
- 17:41Speaker 2: is it. Can you imagine New Orleans disappearing, Well, what
- 17:45Speaker 2: is it? What is it? The ninth Ward? What's the
- 17:48Speaker 2: lower ninth Ward has disappeared? And I think is that
- 17:53Speaker 2: when Katrina hit and you still have when you look
- 17:56Speaker 2: at the population of New Orleans, which was what hundred
- 18:00Speaker 2: and sixty thousand people, that's half of what it used
- 18:02Speaker 2: to be before Katrina.
- 18:05Speaker 3: The big c Z. Yeah, Hey, why do we build
- 18:09Speaker 3: in places like that?
- 18:11Speaker 6: Which is crazy?
- 18:12Speaker 2: That's why.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Yeah, because we're nuts. Because people like it.
- 18:16Speaker 2: There is I don't know, and there's flood insurance that
- 18:21Speaker 2: they buy FEMA and then they rebuild and rebuild and
- 18:24Speaker 2: rebuild along the Mississippi thinking that the the levies are
- 18:32Speaker 2: going to hold. It's a Jewish family that puts up Yeah, okay, Jewish, Yes,
- 18:38Speaker 2: that's true. Think of all the cemeteries too that happen, Well,
- 18:42Speaker 2: they don't have cemeteries there. They keep their bodies above ground,
- 18:46Speaker 2: right in to a cemetery in New Orleans.
- 18:48Speaker 4: It's kind of neat you look at and floating.
- 18:50Speaker 6: Remember during the flooding from the hurricane, they were floating.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Yeah, they're beautiful though they are. What's kind of neat
- 18:58Speaker 2: that by yourself? The ones that are the family crips
- 19:02Speaker 2: and you can look in and there are the coffins
- 19:06Speaker 2: that are lined up on shelves, and some of them
- 19:08Speaker 2: are three hundred years old. Pretty neat if you like
- 19:14Speaker 2: dead bodies in three hundred year old coffins.
- 19:18Speaker 5: All right, if you're planning a trip to Yozamite National Park,
- 19:23Speaker 5: you maybe want to rethink that because Yusemite is packed.
- 19:28Speaker 2: This year.
- 19:29Speaker 5: So far, Yusemite has recorded nearly one hundred thousand more
- 19:34Speaker 5: visitors than the same point last year. They're saying it's
- 19:38Speaker 5: very chaotic out there. Obviously this weekend was a big one.
- 19:41Speaker 5: Parking all kinds of problems. And this all has to
- 19:47Speaker 5: do partly by the reservation system ending, so a lot
- 19:53Speaker 5: of people.
- 19:53Speaker 4: If you go in.
- 19:54Speaker 2: I remember going to Yosemite probably forty years ago and
- 19:59Speaker 2: you couldn't find parking there. You drive into Yosemite, there
- 20:03Speaker 2: is no place you can put your car, no place.
- 20:09Speaker 2: One hundred thousand people more are coming in. This is crazy. Yeah,
- 20:15Speaker 2: it's a little bit crowded Yosemite just to say the least.
- 20:18Speaker 2: I mean, that's no fun either.
- 20:19Speaker 6: It really isn't down but not out. Republican Representative Thomas
- 20:25Speaker 6: Massey has filed to run for his Kentucky House seat
- 20:29Speaker 6: in twenty twenty eight. This comes less than a week
- 20:32Speaker 6: after he lost a primary fight against a challenger backed
- 20:35Speaker 6: by President Trump. Former Navy seal ed Gallrain successfully ousted
- 20:41Speaker 6: Massey in the primary. Trump repeatedly railed against Massey, who's
- 20:45Speaker 6: broken with the President on several high profile issues in
- 20:48Speaker 6: recent months, including the congressional effort to force Trump to
- 20:52Speaker 6: release the federal government's fire files on Jeffrey Epstein.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and what's going to happen if he does go
- 20:59Speaker 2: ahead and file as an independent? That gives whoever the
- 21:05Speaker 2: Democrat is a huge advant advantage because you're going to
- 21:08Speaker 2: see the vote split between Elga rain And and Massy,
- 21:15Speaker 2: And so you whenever you have, that's what's going to
- 21:19Speaker 2: kill the governor's race. For example, here in California, two
- 21:22Speaker 2: Republicans and five Democrats all cannibalizing each other. So that's
- 21:28Speaker 2: it for the sake of the Republican Party. I'll bet
- 21:31Speaker 2: you there are plenty of people telling MASSI, do not file,
- 21:34Speaker 2: do not file, do not run, do not run.
- 21:37Speaker 6: Okay, he's not running till twenty twenty eight.
- 21:40Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's the same. That's true. That's true.
- 21:43Speaker 6: And Trump leaves office in twenty twenty eight.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Yeah, but Trump is still going to be the king maker.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Trump will have more influence as a kingmaker than anybody
- 21:54Speaker 2: in the party, than any president, than any head of
- 21:56Speaker 2: the committee, the National Committee. He it will be his chosen,
- 22:03Speaker 2: his chosen politician that is going to run in the Republicans,
- 22:07Speaker 2: and he's going to get it. Okay, let's finish up
- 22:11Speaker 2: with handle on the news, Amy Neil, who is gone
- 22:15Speaker 2: next Tuesday. He's going to have his stomach stapled. He'll
- 22:19Speaker 2: be gone for a week. You will not have a stomach.
- 22:22Speaker 5: Tie my guts in a knot, Yes, yes, sir, all right.
- 22:26Speaker 5: This is a weird ass story.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Man.
- 22:29Speaker 5: A woman died after being struck by a patio umbrella.
- 22:34Speaker 5: They had these very strong winds at a lakeside, South
- 22:39Speaker 5: Carolina restaurant over a Memorial Day weekend. Out there with
- 22:43Speaker 5: her husband getting some food, and big gust a wind
- 22:48Speaker 5: came in blew the umbrella from the table. It struck
- 22:51Speaker 5: the woman in the head and neck, and first responders
- 22:55Speaker 5: found the woman completely unresponsive, lacerations on her had her neck,
- 23:01Speaker 5: and she was pronounced sadly dead at the scene.
- 23:05Speaker 4: That is a little strange.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean just so freakish.
- 23:10Speaker 5: Unless they're supposed to be bolted down or something like that,
- 23:15Speaker 5: it's just a freak accident.
- 23:21Speaker 6: Strike inside, protests outside. So at a detention center in Newark,
- 23:29Speaker 6: it's a privately owned one thousand bed facility that ICE
- 23:32Speaker 6: has been using. There's a hunger strike inside by detainees.
- 23:37Speaker 6: They are protesting inside over overcrowded rooms, cold showers, no food,
- 23:42Speaker 6: extremely cold cells, no blankets, and what a managing attorney
- 23:47Speaker 6: and CEO of Nova Law Group says, not sound conditions
- 23:50Speaker 6: to live in. So that's going on inside, which is
- 23:55Speaker 6: sparked protests outside. Some lawmakers have been arrested. Protesters were
- 24:00Speaker 6: blocking unmarked government vehicles and at some point we're part
- 24:04Speaker 6: of a skirmish with armed, massed ICE agents outside Delaney Hall.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Yeah, this is down is up, up is down? Left
- 24:12Speaker 2: is right? Because ICE is saying none of this happens.
- 24:16Speaker 2: That's not true. Our detainees are being handled very well,
- 24:21Speaker 2: they have medical care, they have food, they have sanitation facilities,
- 24:29Speaker 2: and we're haating two different stories and which one is
- 24:34Speaker 2: the truth At this time, I'm poised to think that
- 24:40Speaker 2: those outside are telling us more of the truth. Now
- 24:45Speaker 2: obviously somewhere in the middle is usually what happens. But
- 24:48Speaker 2: I think it's pretty rough inside those ice facilities.
- 24:53Speaker 3: All right.
- 24:54Speaker 5: Russia has threatened to launch a brand new wave of
- 24:59Speaker 5: systematics strikes, they say, against Kiev, days after carrying out
- 25:04Speaker 5: one of its largest attacks on Ukrainian, the Ukrainian capital
- 25:10Speaker 5: since the beginning of the war. So they said the
- 25:14Speaker 5: new strikes will target decision making centers and command posts.
- 25:20Speaker 2: You think at some point Prutin is going to say,
- 25:23Speaker 2: maybe this wasn't such a good idea, though it keeps
- 25:25Speaker 2: doubly down, doubly down, doub down. If you remember when
- 25:30Speaker 2: the first launch, when the first invasion happened, of Russia
- 25:34Speaker 2: invading Ukraine, Kiv was supposed to fall in three days,
- 25:39Speaker 2: It was going to be over in a week. Well,
- 25:41Speaker 2: here we are in year four, and what Russia has
- 25:45Speaker 2: already lost three hundred and fifty or four hundred thousand
- 25:48Speaker 2: men and they're scrambling there. Economy was in deep, deep
- 25:54Speaker 2: trouble except the price of oil went crazy, and so
- 25:59Speaker 2: now they've gotten pre eve in terms of the money
- 26:01Speaker 2: they get. But is this ever going to end? I
- 26:04Speaker 2: don't think he is ever going to back down. Ever,
- 26:07Speaker 2: this could be Afghanistan for him, as it was for
- 26:11Speaker 2: the United States twenty one years we were in Afghanistan.
- 26:17Speaker 6: Look what's headed to DC. Did you have more to
- 26:20Speaker 6: say on that building?
- 26:21Speaker 4: No?
- 26:21Speaker 2: I didn't. I was about to say, Amy as your okay.
- 26:24Speaker 6: A section of a fifteen hundred year old giant sequoia
- 26:29Speaker 6: that died in the SQF Complex fire in northern California
- 26:36Speaker 6: is headed to the Smithsonian. So this ginormous tree was
- 26:40Speaker 6: felled for public safety after the fire. They cut it
- 26:43Speaker 6: in pieces and part of it's going to go on
- 26:46Speaker 6: display at the new California Natural Resources Agency building in Sacramento.
- 26:50Speaker 6: The other part of it is headed to Washington, d C.
- 26:54Speaker 6: And will be on display in the Smithsonian Museum. Fifteen
- 26:59Speaker 6: hundred years.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Old, well, some of them are two to three thousand
- 27:02Speaker 2: years old, and that's the scary part. Okay. A little factoid,
- 27:06Speaker 2: tell me if I'm right or wrong. The largest Sequoia
- 27:10Speaker 2: redwood is the General Sherman in the Sequoia National Forest.
- 27:15Speaker 2: And we'll see if that is correct or not. An
- 27:18Speaker 2: obscure fact that maybe I'm right or wrong on that one,
- 27:22Speaker 2: and we'll we'll see.
- 27:24Speaker 6: Do see General Sherman in the Sequoia National Park.
- 27:30Speaker 4: Well there you go.
- 27:30Speaker 6: Huh biggest overall fifty two cubic okay, fifty two, five
- 27:35Speaker 6: hundred cubic feet, two hundred and seventy five feet tall,
- 27:39Speaker 6: thirty six and a half foot base.
- 27:43Speaker 4: You didn't know that, did you?
- 27:45Speaker 5: The General Billy Barty Yeah.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Oh okay, mister obscure fact moves on. So I haven't
- 27:55Speaker 2: heard of gk N Aerospace before, have you. Well, now
- 28:00Speaker 2: we know what's going on with that, and I'll be
- 28:02Speaker 2: talking about that and then oh a thirty, I've got
- 28:06Speaker 2: one that is going to be so interesting, and that
- 28:09Speaker 2: is how weird our world is in terms of how
- 28:13Speaker 2: we perceive our world.
- 28:15Speaker 4: It's really going to be a good topic.
- 28:17Speaker 2: In the meantime, we're coming back with GKN Aerospace and
- 28:21Speaker 2: they own that facility that almost blew up. We'll be
- 28:25Speaker 2: back with that kf I am sixty. You've been listening
