- 0:37SPEAKER_01: Hey guys, welcome back to Skin Care Anarchy.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: Today is an awesome episode, and I am super excited because this is honestly, he's my like all-time, you know, favorite want guest, like on my show, and I'm so excited he agreed to do this.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: I've been begging him to come on the show for literally the whole time we've been on air.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: So without further ado, I want to just introduce you guys to my fiance, my best friend, uh Robert Hicks, also the co-uh founder of Skincare Anarchy.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: So welcome to the show, Robert.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: I'm so glad you're here.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: Hello everyone.
- 1:13SPEAKER_02: Thank you for inviting me on.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, I've been inviting you on.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: I've been trying to get you to come on to the show.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: And you know, today's topic is really cool because I feel like you and I have this conversation all the time, you know, just amongst ourselves about men being represented in the space of like self-care, you know, and just normalcy, like just you know, a man wanting to go and get a pedicure, like wanting to go get like a nice haircut at a nice salon, you know.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: Like uh I interviewed this guy, um, you know, a wonderful, wonderful gentleman who is uh the founder of a line called Cleverman.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: Remember they sent you PR because yeah, yeah, and that was um, you know, we were talking and um I was telling him, I was like urging him like you need to like open a barbershop kind of thing, because it was like there's I just don't see those safe places for men.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: So, anyways, without me ranting, I wanna like just give the our listeners like a little background on what I posted today, and I'm gonna explain it to you too.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: Because if it doesn't make sense, then that means I messed up.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna just so basically I posted a post today and it was about Botox and like what are things that men should be educated about when they're getting Botox done versus women.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: And the reason I posted this is because I was blown away by the fact that I didn't find any like um educational resources online that were explaining to men that their facial structures are different, the bone density, the muscle density, you know, um all these like you know, we're both people of medicine, right?
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: So like we understand that it's like a you these are things, fundamental things that are differences between females and males.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: And um, so I made a post and I said that um, you know, basically I cited a paper that was like the most recent and thorough study that's been done, and basically they validated what I just said, right?
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: And so I was saying, like, you know, when you as a man are trying to get something like an injectable, you know, or something that is invasive done, you need to have all the facts, right?
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: Like you you need to be with an injector who knows their stuff that knows that you are a man and your facial structure is gonna be different than the 15 other clients they had that were female, right?
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: Absolutely, yeah, absolutely any in anything, anything you want to have somebody who knows what they're doing at least when they're gonna do something somewhat invasive in your face.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, anywhere, like if you're gonna poke me with a needle, you better know the needles around my face, eyes, and nothing.
- 3:44SPEAKER_02: So, me me being who I am, I don't want no, you know.
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: I'll try to take the less invasive procedure to get my face to look somewhat youthful.
- 3:52SPEAKER_02: If that was, you know, whether bathing in cold water, cooler water to keep everything a little tight, and that's it.
- 3:58SPEAKER_02: I don't, I don't, I don't know.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: You have amazing skin though.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: So everyone listening, Robert has amazing skin, it's really not fair.
- 4:05SPEAKER_02: I'm aging.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: And since we're talking about men and the rise of male beauty, I just want to say to all the men out there that are just naturally beautiful, you guys suck because I know there's a lot of guys who just don't have you know what I mean.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's just a thing, like they have perfect eyelashes or the perfect hair or the perfect, you know, and uh women just look at you guys like uh Damn.
- 4:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it'd be a I but you know, back to the point.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: So back to the point.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: So I want to ask you genuinely, as you know, someone who is um, you know, identifies, I guess you could say, right, as cis male, um, you're just hetero, you know, whatever.
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: Like we grew up in the what 80s, 90s, like we're just millennial kids, right?
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: So by the way, I'm saying that to everybody because we don't use the same terminology.
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we don't use that terminology.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: No, I get very confused.
- 4:56SPEAKER_02: It's just like I just nah, I just use um me.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: Now there's everybody trying to put a label on something, so I don't know what to say anymore.
- 5:05SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: I mean, um it's hard, it's like a hard dynamic, like now these days.
- 5:11SPEAKER_02: I I don't think whatever you do, as in a sense of like, you know, um like skincare wise, or if you're the type of person to kind of be, I don't think they should have a label on that though, you know.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I agree.
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: Somebody who likes to keep yourself clean, get your edge up done, don't mean you have to be like labeled, whatever.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: Well, that's why I want to talk to you because I feel like okay, so honest, like you know, honest truth, and coming back to the point of that post that I made, that's why I made Botox my topic because it's one invasive, two, it's FDA approved, so there's absolutely no reason why we don't have enough information around it.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: Three, I think that a lot of the people or the medical profession professionals, um, let me know if you agree, but like the ones that really know what they're doing are gonna be the plastic surgeons that have trained for like years and years, right?
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: Absolutely, absolutely.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: And like by the way, everyone listening, we both have a medical background, so like we understand like the hierarchy of like how things like who gets training and what, right?
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: And like dermatologists and plastic surgeons are the most trained, um, you know, in terms of just the precautions you need to take for injectables and stuff.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: So, you know, now keeping that in mind, they also need tools, right, to educate their pay their patients.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: I mean, I know that they do, most of them are phenomenal doctors, but it's like, why don't we have things like um, you know, beauty magazines?
- 6:35SPEAKER_02: You gotta look at the def demographic.
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: It's all about the demographic of who's getting that that Botox done.
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: A lot of people that's getting Botox done are the ones that can afford to consistently get Botox personally.
- 6:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's how I feel.
- 6:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Hollywood celebs and everybody.
- 6:50SPEAKER_02: And if you got that type of paycheck, you can go ahead and do that.
- 6:53SPEAKER_02: You know, it's a it's I think I when I think of Botox in my head, I don't know a Botox like that, but when I think of it, I think of as a quick fix.
- 7:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, not something the long term like can work like progressively getting better.
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: I just see it like, okay, here, boom, your face look nice and tight.
- 7:09SPEAKER_02: There you go.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: You know, you exactly.
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: No, it literally it is, and I think that's where you know the whole idea of like people getting addicted to Botox or you know, that happens.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: But no, I mean, you're right.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: I I agree with you.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: It's just that for me it's it's very, very disheartening because you know, from the medical standpoint, from the healthcare standpoint, public health standpoint, like everyone, every guy listening out there, every male that is listening and tuning into us, please.
- 7:37SPEAKER_01: I am urging you.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: We're both urging you, make sure you know who your um uh person is that's injecting you, who's research.
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: Research your doctor.
- 7:46SPEAKER_02: Research your doctor, make sure you like, like, you know, look up reviews on your doctor, make sure he's doing he or she is doing um what you know, because you can see reviews and what people have said about their work.
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: Um personally, yeah, that's what I would do if I was getting it done.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: No, I mean, honestly, like, do you care if I tell them about your what's that?
- 8:10SPEAKER_02: Like, oh yeah.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: No, so Rob, everyone listening, Robert had heart surgery last year, open heart surgery, and he's we're the same age, so he's he's real really, really young for a procedure like that.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: And I remember when we were um, and it was so fast-paced, it was almost like you know, they diagnosed him, they were like, um, you know, they found the thing on the valve.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: Uh, it was like a little jelly tumor like growth, and you know, it was like a like two days, and he had a doctor, but like it was so easy to figure out if this doctor was good or not, you know, like you could go on to Google and be like, Okay, research, this doctor knows his stuff, he's done this, this, this, and this, so he is qualified to do this, you know what I mean?
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but like with it when it comes to aesthetic procedures, I just don't think that's out there, and they're just as risky.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: Any type of surgery, and you know this, every type of surgery, invasive anything, is risky.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: There's risk of infection, there's risk of something going wrong, there's risk of some sort of vascular problem, you know what I mean?
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: Invasive procedure, yeah, absolutely.
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you're right, and like, you know, and that's why I I I kind of went so hard into this, and you know, like I've you know, sometimes some people might give me the feedback of like, you know, these are very niche things I talk about, but honestly, I mean, how many men do you think are out there that go and they get their routine Botox and they're not making a scene of it?
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: You know, they're not telling everybody, you're right.
- 9:31SPEAKER_02: I think there's a I think there's a percentage depending, like, you know, if you go to like if you depends the culture, the again, um, you know, um the paycheck, yeah.
- 9:43SPEAKER_02: How much money you making, you know, is like some cultures and I can see someone getting Botox, you know.
- 9:49SPEAKER_02: Like I can see someone getting, you know, some people getting and like I said, you know, the money.
- 9:56SPEAKER_02: They expect them to know, you know, based on how much money they make and you hear, right?
- 10:00SPEAKER_02: Like, I mean, if I was making a certain amount of money, I would expect that person when they come into my office to already know what the reasons why they're getting their Botox and everything.
- 10:08SPEAKER_02: I wouldn't even think of the safety precautions or nothing.
- 10:11SPEAKER_02: I just look at it like a makeover.
- 10:13SPEAKER_02: Okay, you know what I mean?
- 10:15SPEAKER_02: Like it's just a surgical makeover.
- 10:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like a surgical makeover.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and so you're going into it with this idea of like that buyer, like consumer, you know, uh vendor relationship.
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: Like you're making you're saying that because I can afford such an expensive procedure, the person who's taking all this money better know what the hell they're doing.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: And I I completely agree with you, and I wish that's how it was, but every single day, Rob, I go through Instagram, I go through TikTok, you see me have all constantly like, and there are so many people with botched up, like basic procedures with injectables.
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: Like, if you're getting fillers, you know, like the the their fillers going in the wrong place, you know, it's like moving around.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: You know what?
- 10:56SPEAKER_02: See, that's the thing, is it's scary too.
- 10:58SPEAKER_02: It's hit or miss, you know, honestly.
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: If you think about it, some people's tissue doesn't sustain the material or whatever that is, that injecting injection, you know, some botoxes, I know it's botulism toxin, but some things are who knows if they're if there's like a uh allergic reaction.
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: No, no, I know, and it's also I I get that.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: Like, there's also like you know, pharmaceutical batches and stuff, like I get that, but like also it's more so of like they're just going to somebody who got like an esthetician's license and didn't doesn't have the years and years of you know um like training behind it, right?
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: So they're going in and they're just getting it done, and that person, I mean, when we get trained in the medical profession, and for this for everyone listening who doesn't have like a family member or anything in the healthcare field, when and no matter whether you're in you know, um you're an MD, a DO, an RN, it doesn't matter.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: We all get trained um in terms of just like certain ways of thinking about things, you know what I mean?
- 12:01SPEAKER_02: Like theory, yeah, and theory on things, yeah.
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: But I was going somewhere with this.
- 12:06SPEAKER_02: What was I talking about?
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: You were saying in the medical field, whether you are in DDL, yeah.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: I mean, I but no, my point is like you have like a certain amount of understanding, but there's almost like this, like um, it's like a barrier, or it's like some sort of like just like behind closed doors.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: There's knowledge behind closed doors, you know what I mean?
- 12:28SPEAKER_02: Of understanding, exactly, and misinformation, you know, a lot of this stuff what I feel is uh like you know, it's word of mouth.
- 12:35SPEAKER_02: People pass that, hey yo, go to Dr.
- 12:37SPEAKER_02: So-and-so, so-and-so.
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: You know, he's really good.
- 12:40SPEAKER_02: I hear he's really good, and they don't even think about going and looking up, you know.
- 12:44SPEAKER_02: That's the only thing I can think of.
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: You know, their friend told them and they went and did it.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 12:49SPEAKER_02: You know, or some kids, you know, in college see so-and-so get it, and it looks good for now.
- 12:53SPEAKER_02: They didn't see it six weeks down the road, but they look good for now, and then you know, who did you?
- 12:58SPEAKER_02: Uh okay, so let me go over here and do it, and they go do it, and yeah, who knows?
- 13:04SPEAKER_02: That's it's all I think those type of impulsive situations.
- 13:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I think people are definitely have like a lot of like underlying reasons why they get certain aesthetic procedures done.
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: I'm not saying that it's linked to any kind of mental, you know, condition or no, it's totally normal.
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: But I'm just saying that, you know, I think there's a lot of factors, I agree with you, but you know, keeping it on point of you know why I I wrote this post, I still believe that there needs to be a hell of a lot more information out there for stuff like hey, you want to go get a lip filler?
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's fine.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: Doesn't matter if you're a male, I'm gonna make sure that your lips look normal for the male features you have, which are you know that that more prominent jawline and that, you know, like the way the cheeks are like you know, uh, what do you call it?
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, what do you know what I mean?
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: Like um, yeah.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: Contour the contour.
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: Contour, exactly.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: And so, like, you know, I I just feel like, you know, when you go into your when you go into your medical, you know, appointment, I agree with you, you're paying a lot of money, so you expect the best, right?
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: But unfortunately, we this industry is what the this is one of the biggest things that has shocked me is that you know, people will charge a rate for something that they're not qualified to perform.
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: And the beauty industry is one of those industries that trillions of dollars are poured into.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: Everyone uses beauty in some form in their life, you know, whether it's deodorant.
- 14:31SPEAKER_02: Everybody wanna look young, everybody wanna stay hip, everybody wanna be in this, you know, it's just you know, I don't know.
- 14:37SPEAKER_02: It's it's just it's like I said, it comes down to the culture, the amount of money, and where you the demographic of people who who is doing it, you know.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: Okay, so let me let me do like a rapid fire with you because I want to know just like what you would do in this situation, okay?
- 14:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:50SPEAKER_01: So like if you okay, so say you I don't know, I made a comment or something.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: I said, you know, Rob, you got crow's feet a little bit now.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: You know, we're aging or whatever.
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: And I, you know, told you, hey, this this place I go for Botox.
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: I've never had Botox, but you know, say I know what I'm doing and it's a good place.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: I suggested to you, and you're like, Alright, you know, I'm gonna book the appointment, I'm gonna do this.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: Um, what are the questions you would have as a man that you would want to see answered right away, you know, without even really having to ask?
- 15:22SPEAKER_02: Will my face look worse than what it is?
- 15:24SPEAKER_01: Yes, okay.
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: I don't want my eye drooped down the side, I don't want nothing like some reaction and I'm go blind.
- 15:30SPEAKER_02: I don't want to if it's going around my eyes, you know.
- 15:33SPEAKER_02: Hell no.
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:34SPEAKER_02: Uh uh.
- 15:35SPEAKER_02: See, that's why I look that's me.
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: I have those types of like, you know, who knows?
- 15:39SPEAKER_02: Uh as soon as I go to the person and they do this, oh my goodness, nah.
- 15:44SPEAKER_02: See, I'm yeah.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: So you would want, so you would want a basically- I need a guarantee.
- 15:51SPEAKER_02: I need damn near a guarantee that my face is gonna look better than what it was, than what it is now.
- 15:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so then not only that, but what's gonna happen in a year from now.
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: You know what I'm saying?
- 16:03SPEAKER_02: Because I at the end of the day, you okay, you're giving me something now, okay, cool, high five.
- 16:07SPEAKER_02: But at the end of the day, when you're six months down the line, if you ain't coughing up that same amount of money that to take care of that, you ain't got it, you know what I'm saying?
- 16:15SPEAKER_02: You you're gonna be looking a little older.
- 16:17SPEAKER_02: You know, it may be a little bit more.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so you have to maintain also.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: So what you get done, you have to know, like that's that should be in your budget.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: Like, but you know, but at the same time, that that makes so much sense what you said.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: So basically, you're saying if you, you know, hypothetically schedule this appointment once the appointment, you would want whoever you're talking to and is doing your evaluation to tell you in detail how you are going to look anatomically, and I agree with you because you know what not just no, not not look, but what is actually honestly, because they can't guarantee, they can't tell you that they can't say I'm you're gonna look like this.
- 16:53SPEAKER_02: What I think is listen, this is what we're gonna do, this is what this medication does, yeah, and this is what it's supposed to do therapeutically.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: Okay, so you want to know the science.
- 17:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the science behind it.
- 17:05SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: And then after that, you go, okay, all right, so this is what it does, and this okay, so what what are the cons?
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: The cons are, boom.
- 17:15SPEAKER_02: You know, you need to know just like they say in them commercials, take this, it's for this.
- 17:20SPEAKER_02: Possible side effects are blah blah blah blah.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: You know, it's so funny, Rob, because I I know you listen to every episode, but like I was talking to Dr.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: Howard Sobel about like, you know, I think uh a little bit ago, and like we were talking about that.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: By the way, everyone listening, Dr.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: Howard Sobel is like literally like the top New York City dermatologist.
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: So everyone listening, please, if you're looking for a really good dermatologist, he is one of the top ones.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: Definitely go to him.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: Um, but no, we were talking and he made a really great point in that he said that he never like he will never tell his patients, like you're gonna if you're 40 years old, you're coming in and you want to look 20, he's gonna straight up tell you there's no way that's medically possible to do that.
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: So like he'll he'll keep it so blunt and straightforward.
- 18:09SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: And he's like, you know, he's a he's a really nice guy, he's really, really intelligent, but he tells you right off the bat, like, this is not something I can deliver to you as a practitioner, and I feel like that is so commendable, and I wish more people would do that rather than try to make a quick buck, you know, because now we've got a lot of teenagers on this, you know.
- 18:29SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of teenagers going in for Botox, young men, okay?
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of young men.
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: Whether you know, it doesn't and it's okay because it's a it's a medical procedure, it's under controlled setting, but like make sure that they have the information in hand so they know what to expect, right?
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: So, like that was my whole thing, and I wanted to actually I wanted to record this with you because I really feel like sometimes my my posts are very niche, but the here's the thing if you want to learn the science, and I'm saying this like honestly, just my opinion, if you want to learn the science, there are gonna be days where you're looking at you know just molecular structures, you're looking at um, you know, the nitty-gritty physiology.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: You have to understand that stuff, or you're not gonna understand the science.
- 19:15SPEAKER_01: It's not okay to say, oh, I know what hydrophilic means or hydrophobic means or all these words, but you don't know how to put like if you don't have the fundamentals, then that's a problem, right?
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: And consumers do not have the fundamentals.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: So I really feel like some you know some consumers, some consumers don't have the fundamentals, and I feel like we need to really raise that intellectual awareness of the common beauty consumer, you know what I mean?
- 19:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think if we the best way to uh wait uh raise awareness would be exactly how the aging, of course, people understand how the aging process goes.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know exactly what your skin does, what the sun does to your skin, etc.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: etc.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 19:54SPEAKER_02: And that can keep you, you know, young.
- 19:56SPEAKER_02: Does heat have an effect like always showering in hot real hot water?
- 19:59SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 20:00SPEAKER_02: Does that age you quicker?
- 20:01SPEAKER_02: Or isn't like taking cooler showers for your face and washing that in cooler water, does that help you?
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so those are like those are like really big points people have brought up, or you know, and there's no research behind that, you know.
- 20:13SPEAKER_02: That's yeah, that's the thing.
- 20:15SPEAKER_02: That's the thing that people, you know.
- 20:17SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's been done traditions, you know, you know, but no one's like, and like customs and cultures have used these traditions for many, many centuries.
- 20:25SPEAKER_01: We know that exactly, but we don't have like peer-reviewed published papers and like top journals, you know what I mean?
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: Validating.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: But here's the thing the beauty of that is you know that we can take these ideas and then if we have the scientific understanding, we can take them and then just start to think on them, you know, as individual consumers.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: That's how I feel like any industry evolves.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: Like, it's like I look at it like this.
- 20:51SPEAKER_01: So you're like you're really into stocks, and you're really into you know, like the financial stuff.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: So, like, it's like this to me looking at Tesla and saying, Um, I don't really care about all the you know, the science and the engineering and all of that, you know what I mean?
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: And it's like that's I mean, I feel like that's like just so like opposite of that innovative, you know, in the spirit of science, like mentality, you know what I mean?
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: It just doesn't there's those that actually that or would they will say that, but actually, yeah, they're not into the science and tech of it.
- 21:30SPEAKER_02: What they're interested in is that price line.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:33SPEAKER_02: That's all they know is that number.
- 21:34SPEAKER_02: And if the price is right, I'm gonna buy it, and if the price is right, I'm gonna sell it.
- 21:38SPEAKER_02: But here's I get what you're saying, but yeah, I know what you're saying.
- 21:41SPEAKER_02: I'm just saying, uh, in that an aspect, there's people that just don't care about all that.
- 21:44SPEAKER_02: They don't they're gonna do it because they know this and that, and that's all they need to know.
- 21:48SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 21:48SPEAKER_02: You know?
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: No, that's true.
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: I mean, ignorance is bliss.
- 21:51SPEAKER_01: I I will say that.
- 21:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because the more you know, sometimes it's not you ain't gonna be really wanting to do certain things.
- 21:56SPEAKER_01: But it's also about how you deliver the information.
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, you've got a bunch of people on TikTok.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: That just point at shit.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: Like they have like products and they're like good one, bad one, good one, bad one.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: And it's like, yo, what do you mean, dude?
- 22:10SPEAKER_01: Like, what's the difference between the hydrating?
- 22:13SPEAKER_02: Because in TikTok, you ain't got that much time to give an understanding.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: No, no, I know that.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: I know that, but my point is that's not doing any justice in my eyes to consumers.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: No.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: You pointing and saying, Yes, no, yes, no, that doesn't do anything for someone's like growth intellectually with a knowledge, and skincare is not a lipstick.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: Skincare is real products that affect an organ.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: And I feel like if we keep having these huge macro influencers that are just pointing at shit, right?
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: We're never gonna grow as like a cut, you know, a group of people that really enjoy, you know, skin health and taking care of ourselves and all that stuff.
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I just anyway, so I know I'm ranting, but um, everyone listening, thank you so much for tuning in.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: I really hope you take a uh a minute and read that post I put up.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: I know it's a little cluttered, and I apologize for that.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: Um, I uh you know, I just wanted to put the information out there and I wanted everyone to just be aware of it.
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: And again, like I said, if there's any young men listening or tuning in, or anyone, any men in general tuning in, please just realize that you have a different anatomy, physiology, you know, to some certain degree, and all these little things that need to be understood by the person that's taking care of you, and you should always demand that.
- 23:33SPEAKER_01: That's called demanding good health care for yourself.
