- 1:27Speaker 1: called twenty five Whistles twenty line win. Alright, walk home,
- 1:31Speaker 1: blow the westll please? Hey you got your sexy player
- 1:36Speaker 1: Eddie Cowboys.
- 1:37Speaker 4: I saw that. I mean yeah, let's yeah. I mean
- 1:40Speaker 4: I was excited to see it come down.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I think it's fantastic for two reasons. One,
- 1:47Speaker 1: he was Pittsburgh's number one. They really didn't have a quarterback.
- 1:52Speaker 1: He's kind of crazy.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Yeah right, you can already be, but you.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Can only be so crazy if you're not the best player.
- 1:57Speaker 1: And he was the best player. He was their number one.
- 2:00Speaker 1: You get a little more freedom to be crazy when
- 2:01Speaker 1: you're the number one. He's going to a place now
- 2:04Speaker 1: where he's not the number one. Ceedee Lamb is easily
- 2:07Speaker 1: the number one, so you don't get that liberty anymore.
- 2:10Speaker 1: He's probably still a little bit crazy, but he's also awesome.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Like he is, He's awesome, and it is going to
- 2:17Speaker 1: help Ceedee Lamb so much because they didn't have a
- 2:21Speaker 1: number two like they they had a number four trying
- 2:25Speaker 1: to be a number two for the last year year
- 2:28Speaker 1: and a half. Right, So I mean, when Cooks is
- 2:31Speaker 1: your guy, and we can roll through a few of
- 2:33Speaker 1: those guys that played and Cooks was hurt, like, this
- 2:37Speaker 1: is great for Ceedde Lamb, this is great for dak.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I think this is awesome. If you're a Cowboys fan,
- 2:42Speaker 1: I'm probably you're not pumped up about it.
- 2:43Speaker 4: I guess I was just still confused that they didn't
- 2:46Speaker 4: they didn't draft a receiver, and that was confusing to me.
- 2:49Speaker 4: And now I'm thinking, like, was this in the plan
- 2:51Speaker 4: the whole time?
- 2:53Speaker 1: Didn't they only like give cast considerations or something, And
- 2:56Speaker 1: that makes me feel like Pittsburgh just wanted to get
- 2:57Speaker 1: rid of them. But again, it's probably as he is.
- 3:00Speaker 1: He'll still remain problematic, but you can only be so
- 3:03Speaker 1: problematic when you're not the.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Guy yeah, I think that's picks two draft picks. I
- 3:08Speaker 4: think twenty twenty seven.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Draft any high ones though, third and a sixth. Yeah, okay,
- 3:12Speaker 1: I didn't see that. That's great. That okay cool. That
- 3:15Speaker 1: means Pittsburgh attached some value to him then and just
- 3:17Speaker 1: didn't want to get rid of him. I think it's awesome.
- 3:20Speaker 1: If I'm a Cowboys fan, I'm fired up about this.
- 3:23Speaker 4: Well, it's funny you call it a sexy pick because
- 3:25Speaker 4: I didn't see it and look at sexy immediately. I
- 3:28Speaker 4: saw it as like, okay, cool, let's see how this goes.
- 3:32Speaker 4: But I didn't call I didn't look at it as
- 3:34Speaker 4: sexy yet.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I don't know how. He's one of the most dynamic
- 3:37Speaker 1: wide receivers in the NFL right now when he's playing
- 3:40Speaker 1: the catches that he's able to make his highlight real
- 3:44Speaker 1: is almost as good as anybody's in the NFL. I
- 3:46Speaker 1: would say it's exactly sexy. Kevin.
- 3:49Speaker 5: Your thoughts, Yeah, I mean, if I were ready, i'd
- 3:51Speaker 5: be pumped. I'm kind of too. Looking at the third
- 3:53Speaker 5: it was actually a fifth, not a six and uh,
- 3:56Speaker 5: I mean, shoot, I'd be pumped.
- 3:57Speaker 1: The Patriots got him.
- 3:58Speaker 5: I know he's like you said, he's kind ahead, but
- 4:00Speaker 5: what receiver isn't honestly, see what what good receiver?
- 4:03Speaker 4: Ana Seede, Lamb's got a good head on his shoulders.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Man, Okay, well you didn't you have to go a
- 4:08Speaker 1: blouts last year.
- 4:09Speaker 4: It's a little mouthy, gets a little mouthy, but nothing crazy.
- 4:12Speaker 1: No, but that's our point. All receivers do that. Yeah,
- 4:14Speaker 1: but Pickens, when you're on a bad team without a quarterback,
- 4:18Speaker 1: you tend to be malthy, or especially when you're more
- 4:21Speaker 1: important than the quarterback or you're better than the quarterback.
- 4:23Speaker 1: But see he can't do that because they're paying back
- 4:24Speaker 1: fifty hundred million dollars right ceedee, Lamb's not king dingling
- 4:28Speaker 1: of that team. Kind of on the offense, George Pickens
- 4:31Speaker 1: was the king Dingling of the team. Like who offensively?
- 4:36Speaker 4: Not you hare that?
- 4:37Speaker 1: Nobody that nobody not your here? Yeah no, no, no
- 4:40Speaker 1: no no. If I'm a Cowboys fan, I absolutely love this.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I feel like he's made for Dallas too.
- 4:47Speaker 4: What is mean?
- 4:48Speaker 5: He's just gonna love the spotlight, loved the helmet, loved
- 4:51Speaker 5: Jerry Jones, like he just got to stay out of fights. Man,
- 4:54Speaker 5: Hopefully they don't thin gets suspended or fine.
- 4:58Speaker 1: I think again, because he's not gonna to be given
- 5:01Speaker 1: like total autonomy of his actions. He's not going to
- 5:05Speaker 1: act like that. So it is a good scall for him.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I agree. Yeah. Do you know where Pickens play? College boydy?
- 5:14Speaker 4: George Pickens played at Oh? He played with Dak in
- 5:18Speaker 4: Mississippi State.
- 5:19Speaker 1: No, with Dak, how old do you think he is?
- 5:22Speaker 1: The confidence just so good though? No, I don't know
- 5:26Speaker 1: so and he Pickens was awesome even as a freshman
- 5:29Speaker 1: at Georgia. Oh, Georgia, so yeah, Georgia bulldog man.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Well you guys convinced me, man, I mean when it
- 5:36Speaker 4: came down, I'm telling you, I was just like, Okay,
- 5:38Speaker 4: I like it, but I'm not too.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Yeah you should love it.
- 5:41Speaker 4: Okay, good?
- 5:41Speaker 5: Yeah, Like who, I don't know. I guess you can
- 5:43Speaker 5: go through sit here and think all day. But is
- 5:45Speaker 5: there anybody else? I'm just saying, like that's on the
- 5:47Speaker 5: chopping block or a trade rumor that you've heard this offseason.
- 5:49Speaker 1: We're like, oh, I'd rather have it back.
- 5:51Speaker 4: I did see him Amari Cooper, but like we're not.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Gonna, Oh he's still free agent, you get him. I'm
- 5:55Speaker 1: not doing that wait, didn't you have him?
- 5:57Speaker 4: Yeah, we had him and then we let him go.
- 5:58Speaker 1: But yeah, that you want somebody he already had?
- 6:01Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, it was I mean he was.
- 6:03Speaker 4: He's still good. He's just had he had a lot
- 6:05Speaker 4: of injuries when he was with the Cowboys, So that's
- 6:08Speaker 4: just the only one. I thought, like, oh, maybe they
- 6:09Speaker 4: think about getting him back.
- 6:10Speaker 1: But no, that's the least sexy thing ever to go
- 6:13Speaker 1: back to your ex.
- 6:14Speaker 4: Right back with your tail tucked.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Oh especially, I've already been through a couple other people. Yeah,
- 6:21Speaker 1: if you're a Cowboys fan, that that's awesome, unless you're Eddie.
- 6:26Speaker 4: Oh dude, I'm just this is so weird. I've never
- 6:28Speaker 4: been in this position where like every year I've always
- 6:31Speaker 4: been like, oh, okay, well let's go, let's roll next year.
- 6:33Speaker 4: I cannot wait, new team, new everything. And this I'm
- 6:36Speaker 4: just not feeling it. Maybe it's because when we talked
- 6:38Speaker 4: to Emmitt Smith, he was like, man, it's going to
- 6:39Speaker 4: be a bit do we get to the Super Bowl again?
- 6:42Speaker 4: And maybe just hearing so much intel from insiders that
- 6:46Speaker 4: know things like Dion and Emmett that are just like
- 6:50Speaker 4: Michael Irvin, who are just not hopeful for the Cowboys
- 6:53Speaker 4: in the near future. So maybe that's just where I'm
- 6:55Speaker 4: at right now. And if in the draft came by,
- 6:58Speaker 4: there wasn't anything any anyone crazy. They passed on Matthew Golden,
- 7:01Speaker 4: which was nuts to me. We didn't even try to
- 7:03Speaker 4: get ash And Genty, which was nuts to me. So
- 7:05Speaker 4: that's just where I'm at.
- 7:06Speaker 1: So when I know that you didn't try to get
- 7:08Speaker 1: Ashton Genty, he was just drafted way ahead of what
- 7:10Speaker 1: you had, I mean, you don't know that you're saying
- 7:13Speaker 1: things now that you don't know.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Just what I thought would happen but didn't happen.
- 7:17Speaker 1: I think everything you said is actually the opposite of
- 7:22Speaker 1: what you feel. Because the Cowboys did so many non
- 7:26Speaker 1: stupid things during the draft, which is a bit different
- 7:29Speaker 1: than what they normally do, that I think I would
- 7:33Speaker 1: be feeling great about it.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Yeah, the Cowboys are usually pretty good at drafting. They're
- 7:38Speaker 4: just mostly players that don't we haven't really heard of,
- 7:41Speaker 4: but they know what they're doing.
- 7:42Speaker 1: And you're talking about Lineman, Yeah, I know, and they
- 7:45Speaker 1: end up being really good for us. And I think EMMITTT.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Smith is sad because one it was pre draft and
- 7:53Speaker 1: two who they don't have a running back. They didn't
- 7:56Speaker 1: have a second wide receiver. Now they have a second
- 7:57Speaker 1: wide receiver. Right now, you stin't have a running back.
- 8:00Speaker 4: We have the rookie Jaden Blue.
- 8:03Speaker 1: You have nothing, right you have nothing?
- 8:04Speaker 4: Right now? We have nothing?
- 8:05Speaker 1: Yeah, right now, you have nothing.
- 8:06Speaker 4: Let's see who we get. We need a sexy running back.
- 8:08Speaker 6: Now.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I don't think you need a sexy running back. I
- 8:12Speaker 1: think you need one of the running backs that you
- 8:13Speaker 1: don't have. I mean you have everybody that's played for
- 8:15Speaker 1: every team, second third string over the past few years. Yeah,
- 8:18Speaker 1: you're running back room sucks.
- 8:19Speaker 4: What do you think happened with Dalvin Cook? Because that
- 8:22Speaker 4: was interesting. They picked him up last year and we
- 8:23Speaker 4: never saw him.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Ah, wasn't that good? I forgot about that, Yeah, because
- 8:29Speaker 1: I think if he was, he would have definitely played.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Me we would have seen.
- 8:33Speaker 1: He barely came off to practice squad, right right.
- 8:35Speaker 4: Yeah, he never played.
- 8:36Speaker 5: And then a Mark Cooper, I mean he signed with
- 8:38Speaker 5: the Bills or got traded I can't remember which one was.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Halfway through the season.
- 8:40Speaker 5: You never even saw him on the Bills and the Bills,
- 8:42Speaker 5: I like they're loaded with the receivers anyway, Cowboys.
- 8:46Speaker 4: I like it making moves.
- 8:47Speaker 1: I'm starting to think the Cowboys have a little have
- 8:49Speaker 1: a little something.
- 8:50Speaker 4: To So you're saying that just to get my hopes up.
- 8:52Speaker 6: I'm not.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I'm not. I'm not at all. Coach Dan Mullen coming
- 8:57Speaker 1: up in just a little bit. Coach Mullen. He was
- 9:00Speaker 1: so dumb when he was fired from Florida. It really was.
- 9:03Speaker 1: And he's at UNLV now we've had him on the show.
- 9:05Speaker 1: At him on the show a couple of years ago.
- 9:07Speaker 1: When he first left Florida, now he's going to UNLV
- 9:12Speaker 1: is so dumb. I mean, he had winning years. He won,
- 9:15Speaker 1: he won, he won, He had one year about five hundred.
- 9:18Speaker 4: And they fired him.
- 9:19Speaker 1: So yeah, I'm probably going to say that if I'm
- 9:23Speaker 1: guessing what I'm going to say, I'm probably going to
- 9:25Speaker 1: say that to him. But also because i know we
- 9:27Speaker 1: already pre recorded the interview, so that exactly, Yeah, Coach
- 9:31Speaker 1: Dan maullin coming up. A new study suggests that people
- 9:33Speaker 1: with mental disorders are more likely to be left handed.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Uh, oh, that's you.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I'm trying to side if I'm offended or I'm like
- 9:42Speaker 1: heck yeah. A researchers compared data from over two hundred
- 9:46Speaker 1: thousand individuals and found people with a lot of stuff, schizophrenia, autism,
- 9:50Speaker 1: other neuro developmental disorders show higher rates of left handedness
- 9:54Speaker 1: compared to general population. The study published and the Psychological
- 9:57Speaker 1: Bolton shows hand preferences often beginning even before birth, with
- 10:01Speaker 1: prenatal thumb sucking at ten weeks of pregnancy being a
- 10:04Speaker 1: good indicator of hand preference later in life. Were you
- 10:07Speaker 1: a thumbsucker Prenatalie? Don't know, dude, don't have any pictures
- 10:11Speaker 1: in the womb, didn't have a cell phone then, couldn't
- 10:13Speaker 1: do any selfies. One good slice of news for lefties
- 10:16Speaker 1: depression depression. This calcula which Eddie has pedophilia? Which Kevin
- 10:20Speaker 1: I'm just kidding showed No, I'm just kidding.
- 10:26Speaker 4: He got it real quick.
- 10:27Speaker 1: It was just it was just me doing a little stick,
- 10:31Speaker 1: you know. Showed no significant difference as left handed people
- 10:35Speaker 1: are not that thank god.
- 10:37Speaker 4: So you I mean, but how do I do?
- 10:39Speaker 1: I think I'm a bit on the spectrum, Yeah, a
- 10:41Speaker 1: little bit probably, Like I'm probably scraping it.
- 10:44Speaker 4: Right, Like there's normal right, Like there's no normal human being.
- 10:47Speaker 4: You're not it?
- 10:48Speaker 1: Wait what You're not a normal person, and I agree.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I agree, But what context are you talking at when
- 10:55Speaker 1: I say it doesn't feel so bad when somebody else
- 10:57Speaker 1: says that it oddly hurts? I know, I know why
- 10:59Speaker 1: Am I not normal? It's real?
- 11:01Speaker 4: Go ahead, You do things differently than everyone else, Okay,
- 11:06Speaker 4: I free you. You are obsessive, You go too hard
- 11:14Speaker 4: at things when you really shouldn't, like competitive, like pickleball.
- 11:17Speaker 4: It's just in your nature. You have a hard time
- 11:20Speaker 4: like enjoying things.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Couldn't allow that be based in trauma though, Is it
- 11:24Speaker 1: from a.
- 11:25Speaker 4: Totally yeah, yeah, But I mean I'm just you know,
- 11:28Speaker 4: you have these these little things to you and then
- 11:31Speaker 4: I'm not gonna call them disorders, but they are little
- 11:32Speaker 4: things to you, and and you're left handed. So I'm
- 11:36Speaker 4: saying it's kind of falls into place.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Here, I think, if not on, I'm very close, like
- 11:43Speaker 1: I'm like next door neighbors in a neighborhood where the
- 11:46Speaker 1: houses almost touch each other to being on the spectrum.
- 11:50Speaker 1: If I were to guess, I've never taken a test.
- 11:51Speaker 1: I have high I have hyper focus. I don't my
- 11:54Speaker 1: communication skills At times, I don't realize that they're so
- 11:57Speaker 1: odd and awkward. My wife will tell me that I
- 12:00Speaker 1: just will walk away from conversations, and I don't do
- 12:02Speaker 1: it because I'm thinking I'm done with the conversation. I'm
- 12:04Speaker 1: just like, must move on, and I don't know, it's
- 12:07Speaker 1: just weird. I'm kind of jealous of that one due
- 12:09Speaker 1: when you do that, that's so awesome. I don't do
- 12:11Speaker 1: it on purpose. I'm not proving a point now. I
- 12:13Speaker 1: know you just do it, but I'm telling you like,
- 12:15Speaker 1: I can't. My body will not allow me to do that.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I just kind of like staring, like I have to
- 12:19Speaker 1: be here, I can't leave. I'm stuck and not you.
- 12:22Speaker 1: You're just like I'm leaving. But again, it's not a
- 12:27Speaker 1: thought I have. Where it is. I am bored, I'm
- 12:29Speaker 1: going to be rude and walk away. It is almost
- 12:33Speaker 1: a lack of understanding of what humans are supposed to do.
- 12:40Speaker 1: So I just said, all right, I think I'll go now.
- 12:44Speaker 4: It's pretty amazing.
- 12:47Speaker 1: And my wife at first when we got married, would
- 12:48Speaker 1: be like offended by it. And I think now she's
- 12:52Speaker 1: I'll start walking away and she's like, hey, you're doing it, huh.
- 12:55Speaker 4: She grabs you.
- 12:56Speaker 1: She's like, we're still in the middle of something, and
- 12:59Speaker 1: I'm not mad or anything. I was like, oh, yeah,
- 13:00Speaker 1: that's probably good point. I should just finish this conversation.
- 13:04Speaker 1: There's a YouTuber named Lucas Ball aka Pigmy. He didn't
- 13:08Speaker 1: sit down for five days.
- 13:10Speaker 4: Oh I can't do that. Stand like he stood up
- 13:12Speaker 4: for five days straight.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Yeah, to test the health benefits of avoiding prolonged sitting
- 13:18Speaker 1: five days. He wanted to do it for a week. Well,
- 13:20Speaker 1: he wanted to do it for a week. He cut
- 13:22Speaker 1: the challenge short on day five. Standing all day isn't
- 13:25Speaker 1: a magic fix. Experts recommend alternating between sitting and standing. Yeah, no, cray.
- 13:29Speaker 1: He also got you also got to sleep right.
- 13:32Speaker 4: Laying down is part of it.
- 13:34Speaker 1: That's from the New York Post. I didn't want to
- 13:36Speaker 1: put somebody on my YouTube Bobby Bones channel, not the
- 13:39Speaker 1: show one, but and pay them to count out loud
- 13:41Speaker 1: to one hundred thousand.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Hard that just see if they can do it.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess ibody a thousand bucks and you have
- 13:50Speaker 1: to count out loud one, two, three, and I would
- 13:53Speaker 1: give a reward if anybody catches them. Not they get
- 13:55Speaker 1: a one hundred bucks.
- 13:57Speaker 4: Did you know? Would be the hardest part is just
- 13:58Speaker 4: keeping count Yes, yeah, like you would get.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Focused three hundred and nineteen eight hundred.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Oh god, that's tough.
- 14:08Speaker 5: You don almost just have to be by yourself in
- 14:09Speaker 5: a room or something right, which would also drive you crazy.
- 14:12Speaker 4: But you still have to concentrate on what you're saying.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Would you take that challenge for one thousand dollars?
- 14:18Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 14:18Speaker 4: I would take the challenge, but I don't think I
- 14:19Speaker 4: can complete it. I don't think my mind I do
- 14:21Speaker 4: it to. My mind would just go somewhere else. Like
- 14:23Speaker 4: when I read a book. I'll go one page where
- 14:25Speaker 4: I'm reading, reading, and then next thing you know, I'm
- 14:27Speaker 4: still my eyes are still reading, but my mind's think
- 14:29Speaker 4: of something else.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Okay, I said, how long to count to one hundred thousand?
- 14:35Speaker 1: To count to one hundred thousand out loud? Here's the
- 14:37Speaker 1: rough estimate. Average person takes about one second per number,
- 14:40Speaker 1: so one hundred thousand seconds, so twenty seven point seven
- 14:44Speaker 1: eight hours. It would take nearly twenty eight hours of
- 14:45Speaker 1: non stop counting to reach one hundred thousand. No breaks, no.
- 14:48Speaker 4: Stumbles, no no terrible you have to.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I'd pay somebody one thousand bucks to do that live
- 14:52Speaker 1: on my YouTube channel if they could do it now
- 14:58Speaker 1: A million to count to a million.
- 15:01Speaker 4: A million, that would take a week.
- 15:03Speaker 1: I think mister Beast did it, and it took him
- 15:04Speaker 1: forty hours to do a million, to do one hundred thousand.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Oh oh that's already been done. Yeah, that's kind of
- 15:10Speaker 1: how we blew up. Oh, I'm like ten years behind Beast.
- 15:14Speaker 4: We're not doing that thing.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Thousand, Hey, one hundred thousand and five. Yeah, there you go.
- 15:20Speaker 1: So to count to a million, what do you think?
- 15:25Speaker 4: What do you think?
- 15:26Speaker 6: Like?
- 15:26Speaker 1: How a guy did it? A guy did this in
- 15:28Speaker 1: two thousand and seven. A million, yep, that's before YouTube.
- 15:33Speaker 4: What's so stupid is it is sound It actually sounds
- 15:35Speaker 4: easy like you're just counting right, But there's no way
- 15:39Speaker 4: and especially forty hours for one hundred thousand, like that'd
- 15:43Speaker 4: be dude, that's crazy.
- 15:44Speaker 1: If no eating, no sleeping, no breaks, which I'm not
- 15:48Speaker 1: saying would be the rule, but it would take twelve
- 15:50Speaker 1: straight days to count to a milliond A guy named
- 15:54Speaker 1: Jeremy Harper did it in two thousand and seven. It
- 15:56Speaker 1: took him eighty nine days. He live streamed it. He
- 15:59Speaker 1: went to sleep, but wake up and would count again,
- 16:02Speaker 1: so it took him eighty nine days. He livestream sixteen
- 16:06Speaker 1: hours a day.
- 16:09Speaker 4: Eighty nine days. What is that like? Four months?
- 16:13Speaker 1: Well, thirty thirty days in a month, it's.
- 16:15Speaker 4: Almost three I knew you're going to do the mass
- 16:18Speaker 4: well before.
- 16:18Speaker 1: You could have figured that out real quick.
- 16:21Speaker 4: Yeah, three months, that's crazy.
- 16:23Speaker 1: The world record for the most push ups in an hour?
- 16:25Speaker 1: How many could you do Eddie.
- 16:26Speaker 4: In an hour? I can probably do one hundred.
- 16:29Speaker 1: You could do more than one hundred an hour.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Dude. My arm is so bad now I can barely
- 16:33Speaker 4: do ten push ups.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Oh so yours is injury based? Yeah?
- 16:36Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that was healthy.
- 16:38Speaker 1: One hundred and ten.
- 16:39Speaker 4: We rock it.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Three two hundred and six push ups in an hour.
- 16:46Speaker 1: That's that's fifty three per minute. What was herschel Walker's deal?
- 16:49Speaker 1: Remember we tried that he'd wake up and do whatever.
- 16:53Speaker 1: It was like two hundred push ups, two hundred sit
- 16:55Speaker 1: ups a day. Something, that was what it was. I
- 16:57Speaker 1: don't know what it is, but yeah, the most digits
- 17:00Speaker 1: of Pie recited is one hundred thousand digits.
- 17:05Speaker 4: I don't even know what that means.
- 17:06Speaker 1: He memorized pie three point one, dude, But for one
- 17:09Speaker 1: hundred thousand digits, I only know three point one four? Yeah,
- 17:12Speaker 1: whatever it is that's three point one two like an idiot.
- 17:14Speaker 4: But yeah.
- 17:15Speaker 1: The longest time standing still the human statue record.
- 17:20Speaker 6: It.
- 17:20Speaker 4: This is Times Square. The guy dresses silver.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Oh yeah, wait think about that one.
- 17:27Speaker 4: I mean it's got to be like a week or something, right.
- 17:29Speaker 1: No, no, no, no chance, no chance standing still? Oh yeah,
- 17:34Speaker 1: not just standing because no laning, no sitting, no talking,
- 17:37Speaker 1: just standing still.
- 17:38Speaker 4: Okay. Twenty four hours.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Thirty five hours. Longest plank ever held.
- 17:46Speaker 4: I did a five minute plank one time.
- 17:48Speaker 1: And that's what made it. Wow Eddie Garcia five minutes, Nashville, Tennessee.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Wow Wow. Nine hours, thirty minutes and one second.
- 17:57Speaker 5: I'm gonna guests like six hours.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Dang yeah held hours, Yeah, absolutely steal. The longest time
- 18:04Speaker 1: spending a fidget spinner. On one hand, I feel like
- 18:10Speaker 1: you did that forever, you know, thirteen minutes dude?
- 18:12Speaker 4: Oh really yeah? And then I guess it just falls off.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Yeah, or you die. That's the movie. You will stay
- 18:21Speaker 1: alive as long as you can spend the fidgitter. Finally,
- 18:25Speaker 1: the longest time without sleep. This person did it for
- 18:31Speaker 1: a school science project. That sounds dangerous without sleep, so
- 18:37Speaker 1: it can't be like a year you're done, right? Eight days?
- 18:40Speaker 1: Oh can you imagine?
- 18:41Speaker 4: Not that many? Four four days?
- 18:45Speaker 1: So I'll tell you. But after day four of this
- 18:49Speaker 1: he was hallucinating. But he made it eleven days. Wow,
- 18:53Speaker 1: eleven days. That's crazy.
- 18:56Speaker 4: So he made it through. Like after four days, he
- 19:00Speaker 4: and the rest of the time he's just like seen stuff.
- 19:03Speaker 1: I wonder if you what if that's how we get
- 19:05Speaker 1: to other dimensions?
- 19:09Speaker 4: What about Why can't it just be your brain as freaking.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Out it could? But what if your brain has to
- 19:14Speaker 1: get to a certain place because of exhaustion or because
- 19:16Speaker 1: and that's how you get to other dimensions and you
- 19:18Speaker 1: get to or talk to people in the afterlife.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Kevin, this is where he loses me.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Those are what I love handed.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Exactly.

- 20:53Speaker 1: And now former Florida head coach. Former Mississippi State head coach, which,
- 20:59Speaker 1: by the way, when you coach to Asissippi State, they
- 21:00Speaker 1: were number one. I think it's the only time Mississippi
- 21:03Speaker 1: State has been number one in college football. Former head
- 21:06Speaker 1: coach of DAK Prescott Eddie, that's right, former quarterback coach
- 21:10Speaker 1: of Tim Tebow. He had Alex Smith, Kyle Trask of
- 21:15Speaker 1: Florida and now he's the head coach of UNLV. Here
- 21:18Speaker 1: he is coach Dan Mullen, Hey, coach, Good to see
- 21:21Speaker 1: you again. You too, how you been you know, not
- 21:24Speaker 1: as busy as you I don't think you know, because
- 21:28Speaker 1: follow you on social and it's a lot anyway. But
- 21:31Speaker 1: when you just have to hit the ground running like
- 21:33Speaker 1: you did, especially because you've been out for a few years,
- 21:36Speaker 1: I think a lot of a lot has changed, even
- 21:38Speaker 1: though you've been still in you know, doing the television stuff.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Like what's different right now than three four years ago?
- 21:45Speaker 6: Welly, so much is different right now, but it's being
- 21:48Speaker 6: out for the last couple of years I think has
- 21:50Speaker 6: really helped me with that. It is getting to see
- 21:53Speaker 6: all the changes from afar and not have to live
- 21:55Speaker 6: them on a daily basis from the you know, the
- 21:58Speaker 6: approach within recruiting, how recruiting is affected by NIL, how
- 22:03Speaker 6: the transfer portal affects your program from year in to
- 22:05Speaker 6: year out, how you build you know, kind of one
- 22:09Speaker 6: year teams, two year teams, and then still build a
- 22:12Speaker 6: program on top of that. So many of those things
- 22:15Speaker 6: have changed. But you don't have to change your values
- 22:17Speaker 6: of a coach. You don't have to change your values,
- 22:19Speaker 6: how you're developed players. You don't have to change who
- 22:21Speaker 6: you are on a daily basis. Just your approach on
- 22:25Speaker 6: how things are kind of managed and run are a
- 22:27Speaker 6: little bit different. And you know that was great to
- 22:31Speaker 6: be on the outside to get to see it and
- 22:32Speaker 6: formulate a new plan before I got back in.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Do you guys have a general manager yet? Are you
- 22:36Speaker 1: guys going to get a general manager?
- 22:37Speaker 6: Oh? Yeah, well Lee Davis, she's she's our chiefest staff
- 22:41Speaker 6: and our general manager as well. She's been with me
- 22:45Speaker 6: a long time and it's she does a fantastic job.
- 22:48Speaker 6: But she did a great job putting he roster together
- 22:50Speaker 6: this year.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I was going to ask, like, what
- 22:52Speaker 1: is her specific role?
- 22:54Speaker 6: Well, she got overseas a lot. But I mean when
- 22:56Speaker 6: she deals with all the players, she's dealing like, you know,
- 23:00Speaker 6: with contacts of raising money through the helping with the collective,
- 23:03Speaker 6: getting my life in order where I need to go,
- 23:05Speaker 6: point me in the right direction. But you know it
- 23:08Speaker 6: is a little different. A lot of the players are
- 23:09Speaker 6: going to meet with me. I'm going to go through
- 23:10Speaker 6: how we're going to develop you, how we're going to
- 23:12Speaker 6: coach you, what your role is in football in the program,
- 23:16Speaker 6: you know, and then I you know, they don't discuss
- 23:19Speaker 6: any of the money, any of that stuff with me.
- 23:21Speaker 6: That's all done through the collective and she works with
- 23:24Speaker 6: them to get that done.
- 23:26Speaker 1: You should have never had to leave Florida. I say,
- 23:29Speaker 1: I've said it many times. It should have never happened.
- 23:32Speaker 1: So I'm assuming you had many calls over the years
- 23:35Speaker 1: going hey, you want to hop back in coach why UNLV?
- 23:38Speaker 6: You know that is I did have a lot of calls,
- 23:40Speaker 6: and there was I had to get excited about it,
- 23:42Speaker 6: you know, there was you to get a call and
- 23:44Speaker 6: be like, okay, trying to talk yourself into the what's
- 23:47Speaker 6: great about this job? And if you have to talk
- 23:50Speaker 6: yourself into what's great about the job. It's not the
- 23:52Speaker 6: job for you. So you know, I came out here
- 23:55Speaker 6: a couple of years ago. Tim Tebow was getting put
- 23:57Speaker 6: into the College Football Hall of Fame. I stopped by
- 23:59Speaker 6: the I'm like, wow, you know they we have better
- 24:02Speaker 6: fields facilities here at UNLV than anything I ever had
- 24:04Speaker 6: at Florida. And I said, this is that's kind of cool.
- 24:07Speaker 6: We play in a Legion stadium. I'm like, all right,
- 24:09Speaker 6: we have the newest best stadium in America. Uh so
- 24:12Speaker 6: those are things. Check the box. Check the box, don't
- 24:15Speaker 6: have to hassle with A year goes by. Alex Smith
- 24:19Speaker 6: gets in the Hall of Fame. I'm out here in Vegas.
- 24:21Speaker 6: Eric Harper a d Is is like, hey are you
- 24:24Speaker 6: I heard you're in town. I could I meet with you.
- 24:27Speaker 6: I was down at Southern Highland's golf course playing some
- 24:29Speaker 6: golf and I'm like sure. My wife was like, is
- 24:33Speaker 6: he just coming to you trying to help him, you know,
- 24:36Speaker 6: point him in the right direction to hire a coach.
- 24:38Speaker 6: And I said, well, I think it might be more
- 24:40Speaker 6: than that, but we'll see. And he, you know, we
- 24:44Speaker 6: kind of sat together and when I put it all together,
- 24:46Speaker 6: when you look at the facilities, you look at we
- 24:48Speaker 6: were a game away from the college football playoff. I
- 24:50Speaker 6: didn't have to I don't have to come in and rebuild.
- 24:52Speaker 6: I just have to help us take the next step.
- 24:54Speaker 6: So there are so many things in place that checked
- 24:57Speaker 6: all the boxes for me, whether you know, the opportunity
- 25:00Speaker 6: that we can win. Everything's in place for you to
- 25:03Speaker 6: win with facilities and all of that stuff. Then it
- 25:06Speaker 6: got down to location. And to be honestly, I love Vegas.
- 25:09Speaker 6: I think it's a fantastic place. It's an awesome place,
- 25:11Speaker 6: a great place to live, great place to raise a family.
- 25:16Speaker 6: You know, I think I got the Strip right behind me.
- 25:18Speaker 6: So I have the sports and entertainment capital of the
- 25:21Speaker 6: world just at your fingertips. Even though you know you
- 25:25Speaker 6: only need to head down to the Strip, you know
- 25:27Speaker 6: when you when you need to, when when you have
- 25:29Speaker 6: an event to go to.
- 25:30Speaker 1: I'm pretty close to coach Odom and he loved it there.
- 25:33Speaker 1: And I wonder if the dynamic is different when someone
- 25:36Speaker 1: leaves to go to a new program versus when someone
- 25:39Speaker 1: is fired, meaning well that person. Could you reach out
- 25:42Speaker 1: to coach Odam and go, hey, a couple questions about
- 25:45Speaker 1: you know, some part of the system can that canon.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Does that happen?
- 25:49Speaker 6: Yeah, I think it can happen a lot of a
- 25:50Speaker 6: lot of both ways, depending on how it goes. But obviously,
- 25:54Speaker 6: as you touched on it, it's two totally different situations
- 25:57Speaker 6: that you walk into. You know, my wife's just like, hey,
- 26:01Speaker 6: your first team meeting and you to get after everybody.
- 26:04Speaker 6: I said, well, well, honey, for half the kids I
- 26:06Speaker 6: just signed and the other half one eleven games with
- 26:08Speaker 6: a three point two GPA, there's nothing to yell at.
- 26:12Speaker 6: You know, when you're taking over a program that hasn't won,
- 26:14Speaker 6: you're coming in saying, hey, you know it hasn't worked before.
- 26:18Speaker 6: We're going to implement some new ways and this is
- 26:21Speaker 6: how we're going to do things. You know, when you
- 26:23Speaker 6: come in here, I said, hey, I have my way
- 26:26Speaker 6: of doing things, but a lot of guys in the program.
- 26:28Speaker 6: Tell me what you liked, tell me what we've done well,
- 26:30Speaker 6: tell me what helped us win eleven games last year,
- 26:33Speaker 6: because we got to win one more and get into
- 26:34Speaker 6: the College Football playoff. And you know, but I don't
- 26:38Speaker 6: want to just come in and change everything. So I
- 26:41Speaker 6: do think it is a different mindset, of different attitude
- 26:43Speaker 6: when you take over a program that has been winning
- 26:45Speaker 6: in a coach left compared to one where a coach
- 26:48Speaker 6: got let go and you're trying to kind of change everything.
- 26:51Speaker 1: What did you like about doing television?
- 26:53Speaker 6: I say it was a great time, you know. I
- 26:55Speaker 6: mean one year with great people, you know, I working
- 26:58Speaker 6: with Matt Berry for all those years, you know, and
- 27:01Speaker 6: then with with Harry Lyles doing the games, and then
- 27:04Speaker 6: Joey Galloway on the weekends in studio and Matt and
- 27:07Speaker 6: I kind of Matt and I jumping around. We had
- 27:09Speaker 6: so much fun. You're with really good people all the time.
- 27:12Speaker 6: I really enjoyed it. You're talking football, you know, I
- 27:15Speaker 6: mean like you're sitting there. We'd sit all around Saturday,
- 27:18Speaker 6: You're in the studio and you're watching football games, and
- 27:22Speaker 6: every couple of hours they threw you on TV to
- 27:23Speaker 6: go talk about it. I mean, you know, with the
- 27:25Speaker 6: exception of having you know, a couple of beers in
- 27:28Speaker 6: my hand or a cocktail or two, you know, I
- 27:31Speaker 6: probably would have been doing the same thing at home,
- 27:33Speaker 6: so they were paying me to do it. It was
- 27:34Speaker 6: it was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the
- 27:36Speaker 6: TV lifestyle.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Was the plan to eventually get back into coaching. And television,
- 27:40Speaker 1: which just kind of like take a break or conto
- 27:43Speaker 1: it too back in coaching, or if you just love
- 27:45Speaker 1: television so much, did you think maybe I'll just do
- 27:47Speaker 1: this forever.
- 27:47Speaker 6: Yeah, I was thinking of staying with TV. It was
- 27:50Speaker 6: you know, it had to be, I always said to
- 27:51Speaker 6: the family. Had to be the exact right opportunity I
- 27:54Speaker 6: had had. I had gotten a bunch of calls over
- 27:56Speaker 6: the last couple of years and it just didn't feel right.
- 27:59Speaker 6: And you know, I a lot of it. You know,
- 28:04Speaker 6: things had to check the box for me, but it
- 28:05Speaker 6: also had to hit the gut. And somehow UNLV kind
- 28:09Speaker 6: of hit the gut for me and that this felt right,
- 28:12Speaker 6: and you know that's what got me really excited to
- 28:15Speaker 6: get back in. And if it didn't, you know, we
- 28:18Speaker 6: were very happy with the TV lifestyle. My wife was
- 28:21Speaker 6: kind of you know, her her question was not was
- 28:25Speaker 6: not like, hey, UNLV this or it was always are
- 28:27Speaker 6: you sure? Are you sure? Aren't we kind of pseudo
- 28:30Speaker 6: retired and you're getting ready to have about you know,
- 28:33Speaker 6: eight months off in the off season and you know,
- 28:36Speaker 6: enjoy life and you know, but you know, once you
- 28:40Speaker 6: have that little bit of a calling, it started to
- 28:42Speaker 6: hit as a coach that you wanted to get back.
- 28:44Speaker 6: You know, that calling to help help make impact on
- 28:47Speaker 6: young people's lives be around it. I've loved every day
- 28:50Speaker 6: since I've been back here, and I love being here
- 28:52Speaker 6: at UNLV.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Whenever you get the job, how quickly do you target
- 28:56Speaker 1: some of the players to have those conversations of Hey,
- 28:59Speaker 1: I'm here, I want you to be here.
- 29:01Speaker 6: You know you the benefit I guess on TV, I
- 29:03Speaker 6: got to watch all of them, so I knew a
- 29:04Speaker 6: lot of players around the country watching games every single weekend.
- 29:08Speaker 6: So that was a lot of fun to be able
- 29:11Speaker 6: to do that, to be able to see the guys.
- 29:12Speaker 6: You know, you had your kind of a list of
- 29:14Speaker 6: guys that you've seen that you would you know in
- 29:16Speaker 6: the fact of your mind, like, hey, these are impact players.
- 29:19Speaker 6: But meeting one, I came in and looked at the
- 29:21Speaker 6: team and said, hey, I chose you, you didn't choose me.
- 29:24Speaker 6: You're all welcome to stay. I know it's a transfer
- 29:27Speaker 6: portal world, and you know, everybody's welcome to stay, And
- 29:31Speaker 6: if you'd like to stay, that's fantastic and try to
- 29:34Speaker 6: see what the new program's all about. And if you don't,
- 29:38Speaker 6: that's fine too, let me know, we'll go out get
- 29:40Speaker 6: some players. But I had a pretty good list of
- 29:42Speaker 6: guys at different positions that I really was interested in
- 29:47Speaker 6: when if I took the job.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Do you ever just sit at the TV desk and
- 29:51Speaker 1: draw plays, like make up new plays, because you're just
- 29:53Speaker 1: like the lox is and it would you do that?
- 29:55Speaker 6: You know, every once in a while, I'd be like,
- 29:57Speaker 6: what are they doing here? You know, it's always great
- 29:59Speaker 6: on TV. You're always right on television, right, I mean,
- 30:01Speaker 6: you're undefeated. You're never wrong, like what are they doing?
- 30:04Speaker 6: They should have done this, they should have done that.
- 30:06Speaker 6: But you do you take some notes on things you
- 30:08Speaker 6: see that are really good. I think that getting away
- 30:10Speaker 6: from the game and getting to see IF football over
- 30:12Speaker 6: the last couple of years, you know, instead you get
- 30:16Speaker 6: you get out of your kind of regular routine. I'm
- 30:18Speaker 6: getting to watch every team in America, every type of offense,
- 30:21Speaker 6: every type of defense, a lot of different special teams,
- 30:24Speaker 6: different situations that go on, and you sit there on
- 30:27Speaker 6: a Saturday and get to see all of it, and
- 30:28Speaker 6: it's it certainly helps the cause coming back in and
- 30:32Speaker 6: it kind of gives you a little bit for your thoughts.
- 30:35Speaker 6: You know, because being away from it, you get your coaches.
- 30:38Speaker 6: We're such routine people, you know that all of a sudden,
- 30:41Speaker 6: I've been out of my routine for a couple of years,
- 30:43Speaker 6: and I'm able to reset my whole routine coming back in,
- 30:46Speaker 6: which is kind of hard to do if you're doing
- 30:48Speaker 6: it from one day to the next.
- 30:49Speaker 1: I'm glad you're you and LV. I'll say it again,
- 30:52Speaker 1: Florida really screwed up. There was no reason for that
- 30:55Speaker 1: to have happened. Is there like a morning period after
- 30:59Speaker 1: that happens. How much obviously you love Florida, but where
- 31:02Speaker 1: you're like, man, like, I'm not I'm not coaching anymore.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Is there that like two a couple of months.
- 31:07Speaker 6: You know what? I think the first couple of months,
- 31:11Speaker 6: you're you kind of catch your breath, you know what
- 31:15Speaker 6: I mean. You're like, you have like the nervous tick
- 31:18Speaker 6: of checking your phone. You wake up at three o'clock
- 31:20Speaker 6: in the morning and you're like, I got nothing to
- 31:22Speaker 6: worry about right now. It's it's a whole new feel
- 31:27Speaker 6: that way, and you know, but all of a sudden,
- 31:30Speaker 6: then you start getting used to it and enjoying the lifestyle.
- 31:34Speaker 6: You know, one of the first things I got to do,
- 31:36Speaker 6: I remember is going to one of my son's basketball games.
- 31:38Speaker 6: It's like, hey, Dad, thanks for coming to the game.
- 31:40Speaker 6: I know a lot of times you can never come
- 31:42Speaker 6: to my games because you're you know, you got recruited,
- 31:44Speaker 6: you got coaching, you got the team, you got all
- 31:46Speaker 6: these other things. And so, you know, for me, that
- 31:49Speaker 6: was so amazing to get to be able to do
- 31:51Speaker 6: that and realize there's so much out there in life,
- 31:57Speaker 6: you know, just besides football, and you know, and I
- 31:59Speaker 6: got really enjoy that aspect of things. You know, even
- 32:04Speaker 6: though you know your call, you kind of know your
- 32:06Speaker 6: you know your calling in life, you have your you
- 32:08Speaker 6: know you you you love what you do. You know
- 32:12Speaker 6: you're when you're calling in life is to impact people's lives,
- 32:16Speaker 6: make positive impact on young people's lives, and do it
- 32:18Speaker 6: through the game of football.
- 32:20Speaker 1: You know you kind of miss it, Yeah, I would
- 32:23Speaker 1: miss it pretty quickly. I think I would like sleeping
- 32:25Speaker 1: in though that's the hardest part of my job. We
- 32:27Speaker 1: have to wake up at four in the morning every
- 32:29Speaker 1: freaking day. What was the best part about what was
- 32:31Speaker 1: the was the best part? Just like letting letting your
- 32:34Speaker 1: like organs calm down, from always being so tense.
- 32:37Speaker 6: It was your you were relaxed. I mean it was
- 32:40Speaker 6: that first breath you took was like, you know, and
- 32:43Speaker 6: then all of a sudden, you know, spending twenty years
- 32:45Speaker 6: in the SEC, you start going around and you see
- 32:48Speaker 6: life a little bit and you realize you're, like, boy,
- 32:51Speaker 6: I didn't know that the whole world didn't revolve around
- 32:54Speaker 6: SEC football. I thought that's all that mattered in the
- 32:57Speaker 6: entire world. And you know, you get at and you
- 33:00Speaker 6: start living life and enjoying other things, and it was,
- 33:04Speaker 6: you know, it's kind of the ability. It was like
- 33:08Speaker 6: a huge weight just gets lifted off of you and
- 33:12Speaker 6: you're like kind of like and it was it was nice,
- 33:17Speaker 6: but you know, when you're used to having that weight
- 33:19Speaker 6: on your shoulders. I always say to everybody here, I
- 33:22Speaker 6: want to win. I want to create expectations at UNLV
- 33:26Speaker 6: that put the weight right back on my shoulders because
- 33:28Speaker 6: that's just what I'm used to, that expectation of winning.
- 33:31Speaker 6: I think we're in a place where people are really
- 33:33Speaker 6: excited they have one championships here at UNLB. I want
- 33:36Speaker 6: to win championships and get it to the point where
- 33:38Speaker 6: we're expected to win championships here, and that's just kind
- 33:43Speaker 6: of our crazy personality that all us coaches haves. We're
- 33:45Speaker 6: all we're all kind of a little bit out there,
- 33:48Speaker 6: you know in ways that way. I know you would
- 33:49Speaker 6: you talk coach, You're like, what, these guys are a
- 33:51Speaker 6: little bit nuts. But that's just kind of the expectations
- 33:54Speaker 6: we like to put on ourselves.
- 33:55Speaker 1: You talk about Alex Smith, then you were out there
- 33:57Speaker 1: for the Hall of Fame for Alex What was he
- 34:00Speaker 1: like as a player? Like what separated him as a
- 34:02Speaker 1: college player?
- 34:04Speaker 6: You know, he was so special. He is. He's one
- 34:07Speaker 6: of the most intelligent people you're ever going to meet
- 34:09Speaker 6: on you know, I think he graduated college in two years.
- 34:13Speaker 6: And his ability to process information, you know, I mean,
- 34:17Speaker 6: we would I had to change how I coached after
- 34:20Speaker 6: coaching him, because you know, you'd sit there and say, hey,
- 34:23Speaker 6: remember we you know we had this, we did this
- 34:26Speaker 6: three weeks ago. And he can recall every single check,
- 34:30Speaker 6: every play, why we checked it, what the defensive look
- 34:32Speaker 6: was that we wanted to run it against. And he could.
- 34:35Speaker 6: He was so smart to process information so well, And
- 34:39Speaker 6: I think that's one of the most important things at
- 34:41Speaker 6: the quarterback position is the ability to be able to process,
- 34:44Speaker 6: and he did that so well it kind of got
- 34:48Speaker 6: to it. It almost made you lazy as a coach
- 34:51Speaker 6: because you know, I mean he would sit there and
- 34:53Speaker 6: I'd be like, hey, remember we did this, you know
- 34:55Speaker 6: last year. He'd be like, oh yeah, I was on
- 34:57Speaker 6: that play. Like okod okay, so let's move on. He
- 35:02Speaker 6: made life so easy for you. But the ability to
- 35:05Speaker 6: talk football, you know, we were so close. He's just
- 35:10Speaker 6: such an amazing person as well.
- 35:12Speaker 1: With Tibo, when you were the OCN quarterback coach of Florida,
- 35:16Speaker 1: when he comes in, is he a young leader or
- 35:19Speaker 1: did he kind of wait his minute before he started
- 35:21Speaker 1: being that guy.
- 35:22Speaker 6: I think he was really smart about his leadership. He
- 35:25Speaker 6: was going to come in and lead by example day one.
- 35:28Speaker 6: You know. And if you know Tim the work ethic,
- 35:31Speaker 6: the drive, the type of person he is, you know
- 35:35Speaker 6: that that leadership he just exudes in his personality. He
- 35:41Speaker 6: let that come out day one. Now, Chris League on
- 35:44Speaker 6: that team when he showed up, was the senior quarterback,
- 35:47Speaker 6: and I think you know he kind of worked with Chris.
- 35:50Speaker 6: It was not Hey, I'm coming in to lead the
- 35:52Speaker 6: whole team. I'm going to work with you as the leader.
- 35:55Speaker 6: Of this team, but I'm going to be able to
- 35:58Speaker 6: lead in the way that I just can myself on
- 36:00Speaker 6: a daily basis. And I think that, you know, that
- 36:04Speaker 6: was a really good combination between those two helped us
- 36:07Speaker 6: win the national Championship, and I think their combination together
- 36:13Speaker 6: really helped make that work.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Yeah. I hated that year because, uh we played Arkansas
- 36:17Speaker 1: played you guys in the ste Championship and I went
- 36:19Speaker 1: to Atlanta and you just Leak would run the offense
- 36:22Speaker 1: and TiVo would just shove it down in the end
- 36:24Speaker 1: zone and is a miserable I was.
- 36:27Speaker 6: A Hey, the Urban called that fake punt back deep
- 36:30Speaker 6: in our goal line. You know the funniest thing about
- 36:33Speaker 6: back I think we were winning at halftime and Jermy Foles,
- 36:37Speaker 6: the a D sticks his head in the box and said, hey,
- 36:39Speaker 6: USC just lost, so if we win, we go to
- 36:41Speaker 6: the National Championship. And I said, oh fantastic. I think
- 36:44Speaker 6: our first two possessions were a pick six and a
- 36:47Speaker 6: fumble returned for a touchdown, and I'm like like, oh
- 36:51Speaker 6: my goodness. And then we went three and out and
- 36:53Speaker 6: Urban called the fake punt. That kind of turned the
- 36:55Speaker 6: game and we took it over from that.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Yeah, that sucks. You remember that. I remember, and I
- 36:59Speaker 1: broke my tooth like during the game because I eating popcorn.
- 37:04Speaker 1: I broke my tooth at halftime and then after it
- 37:07Speaker 1: was it was miserable, but I just remember, leave t
- 37:10Speaker 1: bow and now I feel sad again. Hey coach, I'm
- 37:13Speaker 1: I'm super pumped at that you're back in. I think
- 37:16Speaker 1: you know they deserve you, and you deserve them and
- 37:19Speaker 1: screw everybody else, is what I say before you came
- 37:23Speaker 1: on in Vegas. You are you gotta drink a lot
- 37:25Speaker 1: of water. You drink a lot of water. Coach.
- 37:27Speaker 6: You got, you gotta hotch a we got, I mean
- 37:29Speaker 6: you got. I got to see Kerry Underwood. I saw
- 37:32Speaker 6: Darius Rugger the other night the playoffs. I mean, you
- 37:36Speaker 6: have every shot. I can go to every UFC fight.
- 37:39Speaker 6: We've got Kenny Chesney's coming to this sphere in a
- 37:41Speaker 6: couple of weeks. That's going to be an unbelievable show.
- 37:45Speaker 6: It's all right here. I give this the spurs about it.
- 37:47Speaker 1: You know, a half mile down the road, we we're
- 37:50Speaker 1: rooting for you. Coach. Thank you for the time. I
- 37:52Speaker 1: can't wait. Are you doing Spring game? By the way,
- 37:54Speaker 1: are you guys doing that, like most are off now,
- 37:55Speaker 1: So what's happening.
- 37:57Speaker 6: We just did a scrimmage, you know. I guess the
- 37:59Speaker 6: one thing is I called up and I said, all right,
- 38:01Speaker 6: we have a spring game. What's going on at Allegian Stadium?
- 38:04Speaker 6: And I said, well, coach, you got a little problem
- 38:06Speaker 6: for your spring game. I said, what It's called WrestleMania.
- 38:09Speaker 6: They're taking the stadium over. So you know, there are
- 38:13Speaker 6: the pluses and minuses of all of that, right, you know,
- 38:15Speaker 6: I have all of this, and they're like, hey, here's
- 38:17Speaker 6: the minus. You can't have a spring game in your stadium.
- 38:20Speaker 6: Here's the plus. You can go to WrestleMania if you want.
- 38:22Speaker 6: So there's a little bit of give and take of it.
- 38:26Speaker 6: Oh well, coach, Yeah, we had a spring scribbitch. We
- 38:28Speaker 6: had a great time.
- 38:29Speaker 1: Have a great rest of the day. Thank you for
- 38:30Speaker 1: the time. We're pulling for you guys this year, and
- 38:32Speaker 1: hopefully we'll come out there and see you sometime.
- 38:34Speaker 6: Awesome anytime, anytime, Great to be with you, go revs.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Thanks coach. Have the ten biggest football cliches, and let's
- 38:44Speaker 1: see if we still agree with them. Eddie, Okay, I'll
- 38:46Speaker 1: read it to you. Tell me if you agree with it,
- 38:47Speaker 1: I'll do the same. Number one, you can't win without
- 38:51Speaker 1: a run game.
- 38:53Speaker 4: That's kind of changed a little bit. I say, no,
- 38:57Speaker 4: I don't agree with that one anymore.
- 39:00Speaker 1: I think if you have a run game, it helped
- 39:01Speaker 1: you win a lot more. I mean, we saw the
- 39:03Speaker 1: Eagles actually win a Super Bowl. Defense a big part
- 39:07Speaker 1: of that, yes, but Saquan really was the X factor.
- 39:11Speaker 1: It gives you more opportunities when you have a run game.
- 39:14Speaker 1: But I would also say the Chiefs haven't had a
- 39:16Speaker 1: real run game.
- 39:17Speaker 4: There you go.
- 39:18Speaker 1: So I think I would change it till you can't
- 39:20Speaker 1: win without a really good quarterback.
- 39:21Speaker 4: There you go. You know, so let's get rid of
- 39:24Speaker 4: that cliche.
- 39:25Speaker 1: I think it still does matter, So I'm not gonna
- 39:28Speaker 1: get rid of.
- 39:28Speaker 4: It, never even talking about, like, you know how just
- 39:30Speaker 4: the games changed so much where we may not even
- 39:33Speaker 4: need a running back at some point.
- 39:35Speaker 1: That's I think it's penalolament back that we're running backs
- 39:37Speaker 1: that are super important. Again. Just because the Chiefs did
- 39:40Speaker 1: it in a different way doesn't mean that everybody can
- 39:43Speaker 1: do it that way. Because Andy Reid builds offenses in
- 39:45Speaker 1: a specific way that isn't running specific. I think you
- 39:50Speaker 1: need some sort of run game to win unless you
- 39:52Speaker 1: have a Hall of Fame coach. Is that a cliche?
- 39:55Speaker 1: Sounds like, unless you have a Hall of Fame coach,
- 39:56Speaker 1: you need to have some sort of running game. Yeah,
- 39:58Speaker 1: let's make it one. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that'sunding a good one. Okay,
- 40:01Speaker 1: all right. West Coast teams can't win early games on
- 40:04Speaker 1: the East Coast.
- 40:08Speaker 4: I think it's I think that goes back and forth,
- 40:10Speaker 4: kind of like the first one. I think goes back
- 40:11Speaker 4: and forth. I think that stays. I think that's still valid.
- 40:15Speaker 1: I think it's really hard for either side to go
- 40:17Speaker 1: all the way across the country and win a game
- 40:19Speaker 1: because our bodies and the body clocks that we have,
- 40:23Speaker 1: even if we don't feel like it's a big deal,
- 40:24Speaker 1: they're used to performing at certain times. And I think
- 40:27Speaker 1: from a West Coast having to go play in the
- 40:29Speaker 1: East Coast, that's the biggest shift because noon is freaking
- 40:34Speaker 1: eight am. Yeah, you're going too late to early. I
- 40:38Speaker 1: do think that this is true. West Coast teams have
- 40:40Speaker 1: a harder time winning on the East Coast. It's a
- 40:43Speaker 1: big deal to switch time zones anyway, but West to
- 40:46Speaker 1: East is really bad unless you're going east to west
- 40:48Speaker 1: and you're playing the late late game, which feels like
- 40:50Speaker 1: you be playing it at midnight then, right, So I
- 40:52Speaker 1: think this is for the most part still true. Running
- 40:55Speaker 1: quarterbacks don't last in the NFL.
- 40:58Speaker 4: That's true. I would say Mark Jackson has proven us
- 41:02Speaker 4: wrong on that a little bit. But I think for
- 41:04Speaker 4: the most part, like I remember Anthony Richardson, like that's
- 41:08Speaker 4: just tough.
- 41:08Speaker 1: But he's lasting. That's not because he's a runner. It's
- 41:10Speaker 1: because he's just he had like eight starts his whole
- 41:13Speaker 1: career in college.
- 41:13Speaker 4: Right.
- 41:14Speaker 1: I think that's a maturity thing. I think running quarterbacks
- 41:16Speaker 1: do last now in the NFL more because the actually
- 41:18Speaker 1: know how to run offensive with running quarterbacks, and they
- 41:20Speaker 1: know where to put them.
- 41:21Speaker 4: For the most part, when to slide.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Maybe I think there's been an education even on the
- 41:26Speaker 1: linement and how athletic the linemen are now there has
- 41:28Speaker 1: been a change in what offensive linemen need to do
- 41:31Speaker 1: and where to put them in order for quarterbacks that
- 41:34Speaker 1: do move around to be able to move around and
- 41:36Speaker 1: perform at a higher level. So I do not think
- 41:39Speaker 1: that this is true. I would disagree. I would say unning,
- 41:41Speaker 1: but running uarterbacks do last longer because they've had to,
- 41:44Speaker 1: because so many do. The game's changing around them. And yeah,
- 41:48Speaker 1: and I think situationally too, the quarterbacks have had to.
- 41:51Speaker 1: I think college football has changed the NFL because of
- 41:53Speaker 1: how wide open college football was, and that has now
- 41:55Speaker 1: turned itself into the NFL a bit. It is weird, though,
- 41:58Speaker 1: on a college football player who's a juniors making more
- 42:00Speaker 1: money than a third year NFL starter because of an
- 42:03Speaker 1: IL Yeah.
- 42:04Speaker 4: Uh.
- 42:05Speaker 1: Do you believe in momentum?
- 42:06Speaker 4: Yes?
- 42:08Speaker 1: I think momentum is only confidence. I don't only believe
- 42:11Speaker 1: in momentum for the sake of momentum. Like, oh, they
- 42:13Speaker 1: got the momentum going for them, the ball is going
- 42:14Speaker 1: to bunce to where I think if you just play
- 42:16Speaker 1: confident and loose generally you're better anyway. But that's momentum, right.
- 42:20Speaker 1: It can be like the Eagles in the Super Bowl momentum.
- 42:22Speaker 1: But you can also have momentum. You can also have
- 42:25Speaker 1: confidence without momentum. Sure, I don't thinking that momentum without confidence, yeah,
- 42:29Speaker 1: the way you said.
- 42:29Speaker 4: It, the confidence without momentum, I don't think that wins.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I do, because you go into a game without
- 42:34Speaker 1: any momentum. It starts with no moment.
- 42:36Speaker 4: Because that confidence can get busted. It bursted really quick,
- 42:39Speaker 4: where you're just like, okay, now I don't have the
- 42:40Speaker 4: confidence because we're losing. But momentum, I.
- 42:42Speaker 1: Think we learned a lot about you in that statement
- 42:43Speaker 1: right there. Yeah, right, I think we learned a lot
- 42:47Speaker 1: about Eddie is a competitor. Right, They're like, I have
- 42:50Speaker 1: no confidence.
- 42:51Speaker 4: Du give it because you go confident, right, You're like
- 42:54Speaker 4: I got this, and then after you start getting beat
- 42:56Speaker 4: you're just like, I'm not going to run this game.
- 42:58Speaker 4: We're done.
- 42:58Speaker 1: I'm the opposite. We're done. Will I will be confident
- 43:01Speaker 1: when it sucks, Like my confidence, I have a rational confidence.
- 43:05Speaker 1: You can lose it for like a second, but then
- 43:06Speaker 1: you got to be like all right, let's get back it.
- 43:07Speaker 4: But when that momentum is going, you're like, I got this, baby,
- 43:09Speaker 4: keep it going.
- 43:10Speaker 6: Well.
- 43:10Speaker 5: So I tell you anything else in life when things
- 43:12Speaker 5: are going great, it's it's easy to be like, oh yeah,
- 43:14Speaker 5: my life is great.
- 43:15Speaker 1: But I think momentum needs confidence, But confidence doesn't need momentum.
- 43:20Speaker 1: So is momentum real kind of, I think, But it
- 43:26Speaker 1: creates a confidence that allows players to play loose, that
- 43:30Speaker 1: allows players to play a bit freer which allows They
- 43:35Speaker 1: say spreaders need to run an eighty percent to get
- 43:36Speaker 1: the most out of themselves, because if you run it
- 43:38Speaker 1: a hundred, you're super tight. And I think why is
- 43:41Speaker 1: because you're loose. You feel like you're running eighty, but
- 43:43Speaker 1: you're really just running a loose hundred instead of a right,
- 43:46Speaker 1: I got tight hundred, which is actually like seventy, And
- 43:49Speaker 1: I think that factors in here. When you have momentum,
- 43:51Speaker 1: you're running a loose eighty instead of a tight hundred,
- 43:54Speaker 1: which isn't a hundred.
- 43:55Speaker 4: Yeah, So what do you think about the cliche.
- 43:59Speaker 1: A moment if you just change out the word momentum
- 44:02Speaker 1: for momentum creates confidence and that's real. Sure, But I
- 44:06Speaker 1: don't think momentum for the sake of everything's going a
- 44:08Speaker 1: certain way, so it's naturally going to continue going because
- 44:10Speaker 1: the crowd is yelling. I don't believe in that. Now,
- 44:14Speaker 1: the hot hand is real. It's confidence. To me, the
- 44:16Speaker 1: hot hand is confidence. You can also just have had
- 44:20Speaker 1: a good breakfast. That also counts, like if you're like
- 44:21Speaker 1: you had the right amount of food, you know your
- 44:23Speaker 1: hormones are right. Yeah, yeah, Because I do believe the
- 44:26Speaker 1: cold hand and the cold hand isn't always because of
- 44:29Speaker 1: lack of confidence. Sometimes you're physically just off, yeah, because
- 44:33Speaker 1: you could be sick something again, hormonally even in the
- 44:36Speaker 1: dude could be happening. Preseason doesn't matter, as one of them.
- 44:39Speaker 1: Preseason doesn't matter.
- 44:40Speaker 4: I agree with that preseason does not matter.
- 44:42Speaker 1: I don't agree. I think there are a lot of
- 44:44Speaker 1: fringe players that have ended up being pretty good players
- 44:47Speaker 1: because they had a shot and preseason to prove themselves.
- 44:49Speaker 1: So I do think preseason matters. I don't think preeceas
- 44:51Speaker 1: matters for everybody. I don't think league vets that have
- 44:56Speaker 1: a long deal a quarterback who you know is going
- 44:59Speaker 1: to be your guy for the next three or four years,
- 45:01Speaker 1: I don't think it matters for them. But I do
- 45:03Speaker 1: think preseason matters. I don't think there need to be
- 45:05Speaker 1: as many games, but there have been a lot of
- 45:07Speaker 1: guys who have performed really well that allowed them to
- 45:10Speaker 1: play on a practice squad, that have allowed them to
- 45:11Speaker 1: get into the league, that have allowed them to have
- 45:13Speaker 1: a career. So I do think preseason are we gonna
- 45:16Speaker 1: disagree with every one of these. I know I was
- 45:17Speaker 1: going to.
- 45:17Speaker 3: Say, don't you feel like don't you feel like The
- 45:19Speaker 3: quality of playing week one, though, has diminished because there's
- 45:22Speaker 3: no preseason, so it's like, yeah, you know what I mean,
- 45:24Speaker 3: I do everyone's rusty, right, So.
- 45:26Speaker 1: I do think that, But I don't think I would
- 45:28Speaker 1: change anything because I want guys getting hurt in preseason,
- 45:30Speaker 1: even if there were twenty games. I don't want my
- 45:31Speaker 1: I don't want my homes playing.
- 45:33Speaker 3: Yeah, you just deal with it.
- 45:34Speaker 1: Yeah, you just deal with it. And it's like playing
- 45:37Speaker 1: yourself into shape. I'd rather play myself my guys into
- 45:39Speaker 1: shape during the season because football is so physical, right yeah.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Or basketball they need to be in shape before they
- 45:45Speaker 1: start because they are not slamming into each other.
- 45:48Speaker 4: Right, it's the conditioning.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Yes, up and down the court. Yep, let's do another one.
- 45:53Speaker 1: You can't teach accuracy.
- 45:57Speaker 4: No, that's false. You can teach accuracy, Like there's certain
- 46:01Speaker 4: things you can't teach, and I think that's heart, you know,
- 46:03Speaker 4: or how you play the game. But accuracy, yeah, man,
- 46:06Speaker 4: get some get a coach, get some lessons.
- 46:10Speaker 1: I think you teach. I think you teach the things
- 46:14Speaker 1: that allow you to be more accurate. Meaning if they're
- 46:18Speaker 1: accuracy issues with a quarterback, I don't It's like running fast.
- 46:21Speaker 1: I don't think you can actually teach someone to be
- 46:23Speaker 1: faster than they already can be. I think you can
- 46:25Speaker 1: teach someone to get the most out of themselves. Because
- 46:29Speaker 1: take a sprinter, you're really not gonna if you're running
- 46:32Speaker 1: the hundred, You're not gonna improve by two seconds. You'll
- 46:34Speaker 1: improve by zero point three or something. And that's only
- 46:38Speaker 1: learning how to do what you already do better. So
- 46:42Speaker 1: I think accuracy is actually somebody showing you how to
- 46:45Speaker 1: do what you already do better, removing variables you're worrying
- 46:49Speaker 1: about certain things. So I think you can teach people
- 46:52Speaker 1: to be their peak accuracy. I don't know that you
- 46:55Speaker 1: can improve much like you can improve a sprinter. I
- 46:57Speaker 1: don't know that you can actually improve someone's natural ability
- 47:00Speaker 1: to be accurate. I just think you can make them better,
- 47:03Speaker 1: give them a better opportunity to be accurate.
- 47:07Speaker 4: Yeah you agree with that. Yeah, So you gotta have
- 47:10Speaker 4: to be born with the accuracy and then somebody will
- 47:13Speaker 4: fine tune it and make it better, that's what you're saying.
- 47:16Speaker 3: So like Josh Allen, right, he came out of Wyoming,
- 47:17Speaker 3: he had like a fifty five completion percent and no
- 47:20Speaker 3: touch right, But Dabele found just found it within him.
- 47:23Speaker 1: Found the way to have to communicate with him, because
- 47:27Speaker 1: again a lot of it is teaching and learning and
- 47:29Speaker 1: everybody has different styles h patterns which they learn. So
- 47:33Speaker 1: it's you're not Josh Allen is never going to be
- 47:36Speaker 1: Drew Brees. But Drew Brees was never going to be
- 47:40Speaker 1: able to run like Josh Allen. You could have taken
- 47:42Speaker 1: Drew Brees and trained him every way possible. He's never
- 47:44Speaker 1: going to be able to run like Josh Allen physically
- 47:45Speaker 1: doesn't have it in him. Josh Allen had a little
- 47:47Speaker 1: more Drew Brees in him that he could get out
- 47:50Speaker 1: and they were able to communicate if we do this,
- 47:53Speaker 1: and if you do this, you can get to your
- 47:55Speaker 1: peak accuracy. I don't think you can take someone past
- 47:57Speaker 1: what their natural ability, what they're natural ceiling is.
- 48:01Speaker 4: So you're saying Dak's not going to get better.
- 48:04Speaker 1: You know I never thought about that.
- 48:05Speaker 4: That's what I'm here because that's all I heard that.
- 48:08Speaker 4: And the reason I answered that is because like, yeah,
- 48:10Speaker 4: Dak can get better.
- 48:11Speaker 1: I give another example is the all time leading quarterback
- 48:14Speaker 1: percentage thrower in college is and there's so many screens
- 48:23Speaker 1: he had a terrible offensive line. Yeah, he had no
- 48:25Speaker 1: running game because he was extremely accurate. But I don't
- 48:30Speaker 1: always think that percentages and actual accuracy stats are reflective
- 48:35Speaker 1: of how accurate somebody really is, because that's virtually impossible
- 48:38Speaker 1: to throw over seventy percent for a collegiate career. So yeah,
- 48:42Speaker 1: I don't even care to find I just think I
- 48:45Speaker 1: am what I am. And you're going to try to
- 48:47Speaker 1: squeeze as much juice out of this orange as you
- 48:49Speaker 1: possibly can, and then you're not going to create any
- 48:50Speaker 1: juice that already isn't in there. But can you get
- 48:53Speaker 1: the most juice out of the orange?
- 48:54Speaker 4: It makes sense. Yeah, I think too much about this
- 48:57Speaker 4: crap you do. But I like that it's a different perspective.
- 49:01Speaker 1: You draft best player available, not for need.
- 49:05Speaker 4: No, no, no, no. You can be strategic with who
- 49:08Speaker 4: you draft, example, like us, like like the Cowboys recently,
- 49:15Speaker 4: Like your first pick was an offensive lineman. I don't
- 49:19Speaker 4: think an offensive line was our biggest need, but you
- 49:21Speaker 4: look at like the order of who's gonna be maybe
- 49:24Speaker 4: you'll have running backs later on or what.
- 49:25Speaker 1: You said biggest need? You just argued against yourself.
- 49:27Speaker 4: What do you mean?
- 49:28Speaker 1: No, no, you said offensive line with your biggest need,
- 49:31Speaker 1: so that means then.
- 49:32Speaker 4: You have best We had four big needs, but offensive.
- 49:34Speaker 4: I think you look at like the question your your calm.
- 49:37Speaker 1: You're don't draft best player available, but you draft best
- 49:40Speaker 1: player available, not for need.
- 49:41Speaker 4: Right, So you like, I don't think you know Tyler
- 49:46Speaker 4: Booker was the best player avail.
- 49:47Speaker 1: You drafted for need.
- 49:49Speaker 4: Shoot, don't.
- 49:52Speaker 1: Turned around. Yeah. The example I would give is cam Wred.
- 49:55Speaker 1: He was not the best player available. But some positions
- 49:57Speaker 1: you have to just not go best player available based
- 50:00Speaker 1: on the position that needs the most and quarterback you
- 50:03Speaker 1: have to have a good quarterback. I think cam Orod
- 50:05Speaker 1: would have probably been tenth or eleventh overall best player.
- 50:07Speaker 1: It wasn't even except one of the blue chip prospects.
- 50:09Speaker 1: A couple of those guys were cam Ward wasn't. But
- 50:11Speaker 1: a quarterback is so needed. They went with we need
- 50:15Speaker 1: this position. I don't think all positions you can do
- 50:17Speaker 1: that with, but there are certain positions where you do
- 50:19Speaker 1: draft because you have to have that position, not because
- 50:21Speaker 1: they're the best player. Patriots did the same thing.
- 50:22Speaker 5: Will Campbell a great player, and we needed a left
- 50:25Speaker 5: tackle really really bad, but we also could have gotten
- 50:27Speaker 5: a I know, Jalen Walker or something like that. In
- 50:29Speaker 5: defense side, that was probably a better player quote unquote,
- 50:32Speaker 5: but we needed that left tackle more.
- 50:34Speaker 1: Yeah, so I say you draft for need specific to
- 50:38Speaker 1: the situation. Correct, You guys have to protect your quarterback.
- 50:40Speaker 5: Yeah, if we had a left tackle and we already
- 50:42Speaker 5: had your quarterback and all that, then yeah, you can
- 50:43Speaker 5: go a different route. Also, if the queen had balls,
- 50:45Speaker 5: should be king. Do you ever think about that?
- 50:47Speaker 1: Dang now that you say like that.
- 50:48Speaker 4: No, that's the other one. You say your if your
- 50:50Speaker 4: ant had balls, if you my uncle, would you say that.
- 50:53Speaker 1: That's the same one. Yeah, I say that one.
- 50:56Speaker 4: Yeah you do, or maybe you're you're ark.
- 50:59Speaker 1: That stuff all the time. Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. Speaking
- 51:03Speaker 1: of the Patriots, Kevin had a dream about Tom Brady.
- 51:07Speaker 1: Has he told you, guys, this.
- 51:09Speaker 4: Is this is one dream he can talk about.
- 51:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 51:12Speaker 5: Let me preface it first by saying, my wife was
- 51:15Speaker 5: in it.
- 51:15Speaker 1: By the way, all three of you, all three of us,
- 51:18Speaker 1: all right, what do they call that? The Eiffel Tower?
- 51:23Speaker 1: Great jeans? Great jeans. Yeah.
- 51:25Speaker 5: I had a dream about Tom Brady, totally random, out
- 51:28Speaker 5: of the blue one night, and I was at like
- 51:31Speaker 5: a resort, I don't even know where. It was some
- 51:33Speaker 5: island resort and me and my wife were there, and
- 51:36Speaker 5: then Tom Brady walks in with him and like his
- 51:38Speaker 5: whole family, well not his wife obviously ex wife, but
- 51:41Speaker 5: his kids and his dad and there, and he was like, hey,
- 51:43Speaker 5: what's up. And I was like, dude, I'm a huge fan.
- 51:46Speaker 5: And then they invited us to like his suite and
- 51:47Speaker 5: his villa, so we went and.
- 51:49Speaker 1: Out with them for like dream about Tom Brady. I
- 51:52Speaker 1: don't know, you're not pregnant, by the way, I know
- 51:56Speaker 1: your wife. You're like, well, I would understand she's pregnant. O,
- 51:58Speaker 1: body's going to do a lot of stuff.
- 51:59Speaker 5: Having weird dream I don't know. I dream a lot,
- 52:01Speaker 5: by the way. I dream pretty much every night, And I.
- 52:03Speaker 1: Mean that's awesome. You sleep really good then every night.
- 52:05Speaker 1: Some are not good though, but uh.
- 52:07Speaker 5: And then the best part was at the end, she leaves,
- 52:10Speaker 5: my wife leaves. She's like, oh, I'm gonna go do something.
- 52:13Speaker 5: I can't remember what it was a dream and then
- 52:15Speaker 5: she comes back, kids do not She comes back with
- 52:18Speaker 5: Steve Carrell or you a huge office fan. So I
- 52:24Speaker 5: think that's where that comes in the mix. And no,
- 52:27Speaker 5: I went to bed sober. I didn't even drink that
- 52:29Speaker 5: night or anything, and uh.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Uh yeah, and then I woke up and that was it.
- 52:34Speaker 1: I love that Brady came to you in your dream too.
- 52:35Speaker 1: That's what I'm talking about it.
- 52:38Speaker 4: Yeah, what's up?
- 52:39Speaker 1: Do you have any Brady memorabilia? Uh? Do you have
- 52:42Speaker 1: anything signed by Brady?
- 52:43Speaker 6: No?
- 52:45Speaker 1: Do you have like a Brady jersey not signed by Brady?
- 52:46Speaker 1: Yeah you do? Yeah? Do you wear it?
- 52:48Speaker 6: No?
- 52:48Speaker 5: I'm not a huge jersey guy unless I'm out a game.
- 52:51Speaker 5: Maybe that's about it.
- 52:52Speaker 1: There's a Roger Marras jersey expected to fetch up two
- 52:55Speaker 1: million bucks at Southby's. Maris wore the jersey when he
- 52:57Speaker 1: had his fifty nine home run in the nineteen sixty
- 52:59Speaker 1: one season. Why that season matters because he ends up
- 53:02Speaker 1: hitting sixty one. That was the record before Bonds ended
- 53:06Speaker 1: up breaking it. So it was auctioned off three years
- 53:08Speaker 1: ago for two hundred and forty four thousand dollars. But
- 53:11Speaker 1: I think it's gonna get two millions. Yes, he hit
- 53:16Speaker 1: five of his home runs that season in the jersey. Yeah,
- 53:20Speaker 1: current bits eight hundred thousand dollars.
- 53:23Speaker 4: There's so much trust in that, Like, how do we
- 53:26Speaker 4: know that's the jersey. I know that it gets authenticated,
- 53:28Speaker 4: but still it's just so much trust in that game.
- 53:30Speaker 1: It also kind of doesn't matter if it really was
- 53:33Speaker 1: once it said it really was.
- 53:35Speaker 4: Right, But that's still crazy to pay that much money
- 53:37Speaker 4: for something where like it didn't really matter. That's it.
- 53:40Speaker 1: You're not really paying for the jersey. You're paying for
- 53:42Speaker 1: the person who said it's the jersey. WHOA, that's deep
- 53:46Speaker 1: because you're like, what if it's not, Well, I have
- 53:49Speaker 1: proof here by whomever that it is, So it absolutely is.
- 53:53Speaker 1: Even if it's not, it is because it has been authenticated,
- 53:57Speaker 1: so that authentication values it. They've done whatever picture, So
- 54:01Speaker 1: who knows if it really is? But it is? No,
- 54:03Speaker 1: But but it is because the law has determined it is.
- 54:06Speaker 4: That's worth that money, But who knows if it's really it?
- 54:09Speaker 4: Probably is, Yeah, and if you have two million, who
- 54:12Speaker 4: cares if it's really it?
- 54:13Speaker 1: Yes?
- 54:14Speaker 4: What do you mean you're buying it for two million dollars?
- 54:16Speaker 4: Like that means money is life is pretty good?
- 54:18Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 54:19Speaker 1: So yeah, unless it is a straight collective investment by
- 54:22Speaker 1: a bunch of people that put in like twenty grand,
- 54:23Speaker 1: that's true. Like that happens a lot with any investment,
- 54:26Speaker 1: like they go in, Okay, we're all going to get
- 54:28Speaker 1: in and then we'll sell it later by whatever it
- 54:30Speaker 1: is gonna be a house, it could be memorabilia, and
- 54:32Speaker 1: then yeah, we hold and then we sell it in
- 54:34Speaker 1: three years. So that doesn't just mean it's somebody rich.
- 54:37Speaker 1: Let's get the jersey, guys, let's do it. Investment on
- 54:40Speaker 1: on it. We got a dime. Okay, Eddie, what do
- 54:48Speaker 1: you have?
- 54:49Speaker 4: Well, boys, I have a big announcement. Oh this is big, big,
- 54:53Speaker 4: big news. And I never thought I was going to
- 54:55Speaker 4: be here, but it's happening. I'm coming out of retirement.
- 55:00Speaker 1: I thought you were gonna say coming out of the
- 55:02Speaker 1: closet to be funny, I don't know what. And I
- 55:06Speaker 1: was gonna be happy for you, thank you man. But
- 55:08Speaker 1: the way you set it up, and I was like,
- 55:10Speaker 1: thinking that's and said I'm coming out, I was like,
- 55:12Speaker 1: he's really gonna do this. Okay, coming out of retirement
- 55:15Speaker 1: for what basketball coaching?
- 55:17Speaker 4: I'm back back, not by choice. Don't get excited, not
- 55:22Speaker 4: by choice. I'm at an assistant ahead. I am hiring
- 55:26Speaker 4: my son as my assistant day, my oldest son.
- 55:29Speaker 5: I got fired.
- 55:30Speaker 4: Yeah, you did well, you have you have kids coming, so.
- 55:33Speaker 1: True, So wait, what age are you coaching?
- 55:35Speaker 4: Six years old? So, I mean, I think it's pretty
- 55:39Speaker 4: it's it's low key, like it's just kind of chill basketball.
- 55:42Speaker 4: It's six years old. What are they gonna do? Like,
- 55:44Speaker 4: they're not gonna we're not going to strive to win
- 55:47Speaker 4: the championship.
- 55:48Speaker 1: If my coach, if my kid ever said we're not
- 55:50Speaker 1: going to strive to win the championship, I would not
- 55:52Speaker 1: wanted to play for that coach.
- 55:53Speaker 4: Well, I don't think they have a choice because I
- 55:55Speaker 4: got the roster and I don't even know any of
- 55:57Speaker 4: these kids. So like basically the team would have happened
- 56:00Speaker 4: if I wouldn't have stepped up to coach.
- 56:02Speaker 1: Well, that's cool, I'm glad you did that. I'm just
- 56:03Speaker 1: saying I probably wouldn't say, hey, we're not here to
- 56:05Speaker 1: win a championship.
- 56:06Speaker 4: I just don't know how skilled these kids are yet.
- 56:09Speaker 4: I haven't met my kids yet. I don't know, like
- 56:12Speaker 4: what your own kids, no, no, no, have my six year
- 56:14Speaker 4: olds on the team, but I don't know the other
- 56:17Speaker 4: six players, Like, I don't.
- 56:18Speaker 1: What if your six year old's is not good enough
- 56:20Speaker 1: to start?
- 56:20Speaker 6: Nah?
- 56:20Speaker 4: He is he's awesome.
- 56:21Speaker 1: But you said you haven't met them. Yes, he don't
- 56:23Speaker 1: know that for sure.
- 56:24Speaker 4: Yeah, but compared to other six years old is six
- 56:26Speaker 4: year olds, he's awesome. He's really really good.
- 56:29Speaker 1: Do you think you got the group of kids that
- 56:30Speaker 1: didn't get picked on another team?
- 56:31Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 56:32Speaker 4: I don't know, because usually the way this stuff works
- 56:35Speaker 4: is like you know, the neighborhood kids that the dads
- 56:38Speaker 4: get all the kids together and they're like, all right,
- 56:40Speaker 4: let's let's form a team. We'll sign up with the league,
- 56:42Speaker 4: and they all know each other. I think these are
- 56:45Speaker 4: the leftover kids, and it doesn't mean that they're bad kids.
- 56:49Speaker 4: It just means that they don't have any like maybe
- 56:51Speaker 4: they just moved to town. They don't know anyone else,
- 56:52Speaker 4: so they just signed up. But we are the music
- 56:58Speaker 4: city monsters with a Z wow and yeah, man, I mean,
- 57:02Speaker 4: who knows. Maybe they are really good and maybe we
- 57:04Speaker 4: win the chip. Don't know yet.
- 57:06Speaker 1: Though, Los alsos deay my lass not ts what the bears?
- 57:11Speaker 1: What los Oso's day? Ma las not to see us the.
- 57:17Speaker 4: Bad news bears?
- 57:19Speaker 1: Good job, dude, it's the Yeah, it's yeah. You're the
- 57:23Speaker 1: Mexican coach and you hear.
- 57:24Speaker 4: Like day my last no, cus, that's what we do.
- 57:27Speaker 1: We Mike, how do I say that? Really? Los osos?
- 57:31Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 57:32Speaker 1: So is that Bears? Yeah? Dey ma las no ts
- 57:36Speaker 1: no thess los Oso's day ma las no theses.
- 57:39Speaker 4: There we go. We got it.
- 57:41Speaker 1: You're the bad News Bears basketball. You can win that thing.
- 57:43Speaker 4: I mean, we really could. Man, we'll see, We'll see
- 57:45Speaker 4: how it goes. It's pretty awesome.
- 57:47Speaker 6: Though.
- 57:47Speaker 4: My seventeen year old he's my assistant, which is great.
- 57:51Speaker 4: I send him to all the meetings. I'm like, they
- 57:52Speaker 4: go to the meetings, tell me what they say.
- 57:54Speaker 1: Oh so you don't have to go No, okay, so
- 57:56Speaker 1: you're the general man.
- 57:57Speaker 4: No, I'm the head coach. I'm the the dude who
- 58:00Speaker 4: just kind of like, hey, will you do that for me? Hey,
- 58:02Speaker 4: drop a couple of plays for me. They're beating us,
- 58:04Speaker 4: They're they're doing zone defense. Will you change something up
- 58:06Speaker 4: on the offense? All that kind of stuff. I don't
- 58:08Speaker 4: have to deal with it. Just tell my assistant what
- 58:10Speaker 4: to do.
- 58:11Speaker 1: You are a general manager. He probably loves it though, huh.
- 58:14Speaker 4: He does. He does because he loves about My seven
- 58:16Speaker 4: year old loves basketball. It's all. That's his favorite sport.
- 58:19Speaker 4: He loves watching it. He's all into the NBA playoffs.
- 58:21Speaker 4: He really watches NBA all year round, which I'm like,
- 58:24Speaker 4: you're crazy.
- 58:25Speaker 1: You should make them watch YouTube videos on actual coaching,
- 58:27Speaker 1: on actual like how to run very very very basic
- 58:30Speaker 1: plays for young kids because they do those. And I'm
- 58:34Speaker 1: talking about you don't have to do like high school,
- 58:35Speaker 1: but they do very very basic. It's how it's the
- 58:37Speaker 1: kind of videos I watch. If I'm trying to learn
- 58:39Speaker 1: why offense is doing something, I'll watch like eight year
- 58:41Speaker 1: old versions of them. But you can have him do that,
- 58:44Speaker 1: that's good, like watch tape, well tape. Yeah, mostly they
- 58:48Speaker 1: do like little cartoons.
- 58:50Speaker 4: That's what you do for pickleball.
- 58:51Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I do for basketball too, like I'm trying
- 58:53Speaker 1: to understand an offense or if I'm talking about the
- 58:57Speaker 1: playoffs or something. Yeah, yeah, all right, dude, Yeah, maybe
- 59:01Speaker 1: wis announcement. I kind of wish it was you were
- 59:03Speaker 1: coming out of the closet.
- 59:03Speaker 4: If I'm being honest with you, a little morning, well
- 59:05Speaker 4: that could be coming.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Yeah, that'd be great. Big ratings. All right, that's it.
