Transcript
- 0:00Good morning, Pike and Amanda in the morning. You gotta be great.
- 0:02Today's sunshine eighty five pretty much gonna be eighty five to ninety all weekend long
- 0:07for your Memorial Day. Yeah, smoking hot. A lot of people might
- 0:09be traveling big travel weekend, and if you're gonna be on an airline,
- 0:12a lot of people talk about the food on flights, how it tastes sort
- 0:15of bland. You notice this, Yeah, and it had it is a
- 0:18very it's just interesting, like I don't know how to describe it, like
- 0:23the bread, Like if you get a little sandwich or something, it's just
- 0:25everything dry. Like yeah, Well, there's a reason. It's not because
- 0:29they're making it bad. It's because the study was done over at the Fraunhofer
- 0:32Institute. Oh yeah, they said that salt is perceived up to thirty percent
- 0:38less when you're in the air, So basically it's something salty, it probably
- 0:42isn't gonna taste very salty, and that's the flavor. So that's why it
- 0:45tastes so bland. Yeah, But then they found that there are certain foods
- 0:49that don't lose the flavor, and there are things like curries and pasta and
- 0:54tomato sauce, and I'm like, if you're eating that on a flight,
- 0:59stop eating that out of flight. That's my biggest pet feed with flying especially.
- 1:03I get okay, I've never done like an international flight. Yeah,
- 1:04that's gonna be a whole different ball game. Well you gotta eat. Of
- 1:07course. I've done a lot of like, you know, three hour direct
- 1:10flights the Vegas and Florida. And when you get on the plane and somebody
- 1:15immediately gets in their seat and unrolls a six foot sandwich six ft exaggeration,
- 1:22a foot long subway sandwich, It's like, how long are you sitting out
- 1:25there in the terminal waiting to board this flight? You could have ate it
- 1:27there you had the sandwich. See, I actually would have taken you as
- 1:32the guy who's like, oh, Panda express, and then you're the one
- 1:34who's like grabbing your huge thing and eating it on the flight. There's no
- 1:38way because you know me like, I'm not going to sit there with food.
- 1:42I'm gonna eat the food immediately. Yeah, so it could smell so
- 1:45bad, it's a three hour flight, eat some peanuts. Just let us
- 1:49like sit in here and not have to smell that. It is the stank.
- 1:51See for me, I always and this sounds terrible, and I'm kind
- 1:55of going to contradict myself because I don't necessarily want the person next to me
- 1:57sleeping, because usually like, have you ever done that where they nod off
- 2:00onto you? Oh? I've done that to people too, where I'm like
- 2:04oop, sorry, I just put my arm around him and braces. But
- 2:07especially if you have to go to the bathroom and the person sleeping next to
- 2:09you, it's like, oh, this is so unco I know, but
- 2:13you have so uncomfortable, but I have got to go to the bathroom.
- 2:17But also it's the opposite too, I don't really want that person to be
- 2:20talking to me. Have you ever sat next to somebody who does not stop
- 2:23talking, like they just want to get to know everything about your life?
- 2:27Oh? Yeah, you gotta do the Kevin McAlister, Just throw your headphone.
- 2:30Sorry, don't want to talk to you. I don't know. I
- 2:31mean, what's the perfect person to be sitting next to on a flight?
- 2:35There's really I mean, like a small person. First of all, I've
- 2:38found that like a small woman sixties sixty five reading a book, that's generally
- 2:45the ticket. That's what I see I love like traveling with kids. It's
- 2:49just so much fun. They're like kicking other people's and you're yelling at them,
- 2:53and they want all the snacks and then they put them all over the
- 2:54floor and then they have to go to the bathroom and they think they can
- 2:57run down the aisle. That's my favorite. It sounds good time, just
- 3:00a blast. I should have kids. You should. Pike and Amanda in
- 3:04the Morning n point seven Today's Variety, Good morning and happy Friday. It's
- 3:10Pike and Amanda in the morning. You gotta be great this week and nothing
- 3:14but sunshine looking like eighty five to ninety and a little bit of wind the
- 3:17next couple of days. Gosh, I cannot remember a long holiday weekend that
- 3:23was nice like us, just like going into summer. Oh, by the
- 3:27way, we're breaking news at seven am. We have a major announcement.
- 3:30Oh yeah, Happy Harry's Ripest, which is, by the way, lesson
- 3:34two weeks away. I can't wait. This is gonna be awesome. We've
- 3:37been jamming in the studio and we will be able to play those jams for
- 3:42you coming up at seven o'clock. Yeah, we're talking about the artist that
- 3:44will be playing Thursday night. You're gonna be very excited as we are.
- 3:47All right, So it's a Memorial Day weekend, like Amanda was describing,
- 3:51and I was explaining to you that you were you know, you're asking my
- 3:53plans. Well, yeah, because even though Amanda's the type that she just
- 3:57has me the plans and doesn't listen and then wait untill she can tell me
- 3:59her, I'm just kidding. You already know my plans going to the lake
- 4:02and being late girl. And so I was telling you that Saturday, I've
- 4:05been roped into babysitting. So that's how I'll be spending my Saturday night,
- 4:12a Memorial Day weekend, babysitting my four year old and two year old nephews.
- 4:15When you say roped into it, you didn't offer how did this all
- 4:18go? You know, sometimes like if you're married, let's say, in
- 4:21your spouse kind of sort of volunteers you for something, or like you know,
- 4:26you asked, like, oh, what's the plans this weekend, and
- 4:28then they tell you what your plans are? Yeah, No, very familiar
- 4:31you usually how it goes down. Yeah. Yeah, So my wife Lauren
- 4:34said that we would babysit Saturday night. My sister and her husband who we
- 4:39live with currently. We're saying, we're so happy to do it, you
- 4:42know, because like it doesn't sound like you're too happy to do it.
- 4:45No, no, no, I just listen. I would have liked a
- 4:46discussion. And it's not that I have to be there, because, let's
- 4:49be honest, like I'm providing no assistance whatsoever. You know, I'm just
- 4:53there, like she's probably gonna be doing all the stuff. But you gotta
- 4:57help me here, Amanda, because you got literally kids at the same age.
- 5:00Yeah, I see. I feel like you're the phone call. Oh
- 5:01absolutely, the fun call. Yeah, so you need to be that.
- 5:04Yeah, you can't leave if you need to be tickled. I'm your guy,
- 5:08Okay, I will get you as I say. Well, And they
- 5:13are so at that age where we love to play, uh like tag around
- 5:18the house. That's always fun. Some of the old classes really exhausted.
- 5:21I didn't seek. I didn't seek is definitely fun for them. Right now.
- 5:26How do you how do you pull the plug? Like you know they'll
- 5:29play forever? When do you say, okay, what is the timeframe for
- 5:32your babysitting? They're going to a wedding, so I imagine probably four hours
- 5:36or something like that. I mean, they go to bed early, so
- 5:40you know, probably not that much. There's the other thing, because they're
- 5:43not gonna want to go to bed. These rascals left to go to bed
- 5:45and then get out of their bed right and then come. You know,
- 5:47I would probably end up having to do the hang out, wear them down
- 5:51as much as you can movie time. Yeah. Yeah, that's what Gracie
- 5:58learned because actually sees my babysitter interesting in turn, Gracie, so you you
- 6:01know, probably more than Amanda would. Well, Amanda's kids have wine down
- 6:09time, but when they're with me, Sidney doesn't know what wine down time
- 6:12is. Oh she pretends. Yeah, I'm like, let's do wine downtime.
- 6:15Mom doesn't make us do that. I don't know what that is.
- 6:17Yep. So they're they're gonna do that, Like we don't go to bed
- 6:19at seven, we go to bed. We go to bed when our parents
- 6:23are home, that kind of thing. So you're gonna just have to put
- 6:26in a movie and then let them fall asleep on you, and then when
- 6:29they come home, they'll take them to the beds. I feel like that's
- 6:30the only way you're gonna probably good to know, good to know. Oh
- 6:33my other question last one night, what's like a proper blood alcohol level to
- 6:36be at while watching children? Ah? Yeah, you're you just have a
- 6:40couple beers, a couple of beer. Well as long as you're because you're
- 6:43not going to be transporting them. No, definitely not. Yeah. Yeah,
- 6:46so you're just gonna be hanging out at their house. It's gonna be
- 6:47yeah. And the nice thing is you're hanging out at their house so they
- 6:50have all their built in stuff to do. Oh they got stuff, all
- 6:54right, that is nice? Yeah, yeah, all right. It'd be
- 6:57nice if you take about for ice cream and do you know all the fun
- 7:00things or do it? I did it with Amanda, Oh my gosh,
- 7:02went over to her house the first time to watch the kids and we had
- 7:06pizza or to pizza, and then the kids wanted ice cream, but they
- 7:10didn't have ice cream, so we had to DoorDash the dairy Queen, And
- 7:13it was like a thirty dollars door dash experience for little to ice cream on
- 7:17top of pane for babysitting. Isn't it the worst thing to DoorDash wouldn't be
- 7:21melted by the time I got home, it kind of was. And then
- 7:24the next time my baby sat we had ice cream. Oh. I was
- 7:27like, here you go, here's our two dollars thing of ice cream.
- 7:30Look up this morning, ring Amanda in the morning. One. All right,
- 7:36here we go see Pike and Amanda in the morning. First Annual Memorial
- 7:41Day hot Doggathon and James Tyler our current yes board at the top of the
- 7:46You just had an amazing performance. Thank you. I appreciate it. You
- 7:48didn't say that last time. Well, it was a little slow out of
- 7:51the gate. I was expecting you need to be hustling a little bit more
- 7:54with that ice and everything. But once you get that sunscreen on your hands,
- 7:58I got greased up. Yea circuit, a little slipper. There was
- 8:00a problem, a little big problem. Well it's my turn, Pike,
- 8:03you've all gone. It's come down to this. I feel like I got
- 8:07in the bag. I will say, I'm a little nervous after seeing James
- 8:09chug that hot dog. Is fancy that that was a sight. I'm gonna
- 8:13have to really just do something amazing. So what you guys, if you
- 8:18know the Heimwick, it would be probably coming to handy here she's gonna just
- 8:22hurry up and then eat the hot dog. I do have a very unique
- 8:24strategy for the end that you'll see. I'm not with the hot dog,
- 8:28correct, all right, Well, I will tell you we've got two eleven
- 8:31for Gracie, which is just we don't have to talk about that anymore.
- 8:35Then I had one forty two, Megan had one forty seven. But you've
- 8:39got one minute and twenty seven seconds could be the weener of the hot dogathon.
- 8:46Let's do it. Are you ready? I'm ready? Come on your
- 8:50marks, Yeah, get set, Hang on, go look at him.
- 8:56Go over there, he's already. He's already got the sun screen on,
- 9:00jackets on. I told you that sunscreen. He is getting a little nervous
- 9:05here all over the face. Anyway. Fifteen seconds in and he is already
- 9:09to the bag of ice. He's smart. He did the pant's wife before
- 9:13he went to the bag of Ye go here we go. Oh, how's
- 9:16that ice treating the bag? The bag's giving him trouble. Okay, he's
- 9:20already over to the hot do really what did he take the hot No bun
- 9:26here he's eating. Get the ketchup and mustard. Second, thank you,
- 9:31Wow, he has not eating just a buck with mustard. Ketchup, mustard
- 9:37and ketchup, that's what he's doing. This is not a good idea.
- 9:41He was actually going to try to dodge the ketchup and mustard. He's got
- 9:43half the bun in. That hot dog is all gone his beard. Oh
- 9:46yeah, he literally it went all the way five seconds. The bun is
- 9:52tough. The bun is tough. He's having trouble. He's having we're doing
- 9:56no water where where we at? We are one minute and five, you
- 10:00got fifteen seconds. Come on, he's got one more bite of the buns.
- 10:03See this is the problem. Come on the countdown. One minute in
- 10:09fifteen seconds, bumps clear and eighteen No, we've got our hot dog?
- 10:20Doener bike it up here? Pike anything? Wow? How do I look?
- 10:31You look? You catch? I'd like to know what happened to that
- 10:35hot dog. It would like to know too. Didn't much of a chance.
- 10:41Oh my good. One minute in eighteen seconds. Listen, I gotta
- 10:45command all of my opponents this week. You did great. Um, I've
- 10:48gotta think my family and you know, Jesus and this everybody, okay,
- 10:54everybody involved, who outmakes this possible. That's enough. Okay, Happy Memorial
- 10:58Day in Amanda in the morning on day eighty eight point seven. You know,
- 11:05I don't know you guys are a wearing but there's like a taco battle
- 11:09going on for the rights to the phrase Taco Tuesday. What do you mean
- 11:13Taco Tuesday is just Taco Tuesday. You would think so, But since nineteen
- 11:18eighty nine, Taco John's our beloved taco chain. Although they are closing rapidly
- 11:22here it seems they are. They have owned the copyright to Taco Tuesday,
- 11:26and now another Taco competitor, who shall not be named Taco Bell, they're
- 11:33after. They want them to get rid of the copyright because they think everybody
- 11:35should be able to use Taco Tuesday. I had no idea because well,
- 11:39I hate to throw them under the bus, but we've been celebrating Taco Tuesday
- 11:43in small town dive bars for years. Oh yeah, I mean that's like
- 11:46twenty five cent tacos. You care to name any names? Well, there's
- 11:50one in Deer Creek, Minnesota, only bar around the street, and they've
- 11:54been doing it. There's a tone. Don't name the name. Nobody will
- 11:58ever know. Nobody will know Johns didn't invent Taco Tuesday. Well, surely
- 12:01they did, because they they copyrighted it. Well, the first a copyright
- 12:07copyrighted that, that's yours. That's how that works. Well yeah, but
- 12:11but but but did everyone uses Taco Tuesday. I actually when when my daughter
- 12:16was two, her birthday was on a Tuesday, and she loved tacos,
- 12:22so she had a she had a Taco Tuesday shirt. And today, yeah,
- 12:26I'm sorry what your daughter should be in prison pretty much. I didn't
- 12:31put a copyright on that. I mean her pictures. They're probably gonna try
- 12:33to take them down. Now. Now I got some blackmail on your that
- 12:37just seems ridiculous. Though it does seem ridiculous. But well, actually,
- 12:41why am I saying that? No, it's not ridiculous, it's the law,
- 12:45says the woman whose daughter is wearing just bootlegged shirts. Yeah, I
- 12:48am sorry. I apologize to Taco John's. I'm gonna have to speak to
- 12:52Sydney. Could you get her in heir? Yeah? Right, But now
- 12:54I want potato las after all of this conversation. That's what I want.
- 12:58The big nutty eight point seven trending trending Like it or not trending. Good
- 13:07morning, eight o'clock. Here's what you need to know. Thanks for our

- 13:18connection with that shooting death of a teenage boy on Monday night. Thirty one
- 13:22year old Marcus rex Road of Fargo is in jail accused of murdering sixteen year
- 13:28old James Monroe of West Fargo. The Fargo Police Department is asking for the
- 13:31public's help and identifying a man that was found dead and a retention pond on
- 13:35Monday. They say he was a black man, approximately six feet tall,
- 13:39two hundred and thirty pounds, around thirty to forty years old. If you
- 13:41know anybody that is missing or has not been reported missing, they would like
- 13:46to hear from you. Just contact local law enforcement. Oh boy, and
- 13:52you remember the fleet Gate and spygates, Well they're at it again, New
- 13:56England patriots. They have been forced to cancel a couple of days of practice.
- 14:00I'm like, okay, a couple days of practice. At what point
- 14:03are they going to take it seriously and like a game or something. Maybe
- 14:07or I don't know, if you want. They weren't penalized. I mean
- 14:09it was years ago, but yeah, what a coincidence. The team winning
- 14:11all the Super Bowls keeps getting conscious. So the team management was found to
- 14:16have allegedly videotaped the New York Jets coaches hand signals on the sidelines during the
- 14:20game. Well, if you're not cheating, you're not trying, they say.
- 14:24Not what they say. We put x X and all these other mornings
- 14:26shows drinks this morning, right, you got to do it? Brought to
- 14:35you by Park Company Real Tours. Well, your girl, Whoopi Goldberg believes
- 14:39that American idol has led to the downfall of society, is right. He
- 14:43sat down yesterday and said that once we gave people the ability to judge other
- 14:48people, I think we random up with it and now it's gone out of
- 14:52control. They invited the public to decide who that person was, and I
- 14:56feel once we did that, it began us a cycle in which we have
- 15:01not escaped. Yeah, listen, obviously you all know that my celebrity crush
- 15:05is Whoopie Goldberg. It's real wild, but Yeah, if that wasn't the
- 15:09case, I would say, this is probably the stupidest thing I've heard,
- 15:11But because I do support her, holy, I do agree that that it
- 15:16was a downfall, and also American Idol, like there was other things before
- 15:20that that we were judging the judgiest thing we've seen times not remember Star Search?
- 15:26Oh they did they judge on that hosted that real Comedia. She started
- 15:30her career judging people who whoop Goldberg. Well, it's not quite the same,
- 15:35guys, it wasn't on the same level bias. Yeah. Well,
- 15:43and if you are trying to slide into Kim Kardashian's dms, because remember she's
- 15:48just looking for a normal guy. She no longer wants to data celebrity,
- 15:50which is hilarious to me because I don't see her with anybody other than a
- 15:54big time person. Nope, I mean she did go with Pete Davidson for
- 15:58a hot minute, I mean never mind. Yeah, and then she just
- 16:02released this information for everybody saying if you don't have good teeth, yeah,
- 16:07out those are essential requirements. But also nobody who is bold. A bad
- 16:11hairline will not work for her. You gotta have a lot of hair.
- 16:15But Also, I was like thinking about her track record. Kanye didn't have
- 16:18a lot of hair. What do you mean, Davidson? They have thick
- 16:22hair. They just doesn't like Chris Humphries. Remember that flow he did a
- 16:26flow? It doesn't it does lop off about like half of the NBA players,
- 16:30So that's unfortunate. It wasn't that Clockey who dates and Cloe it's kind
- 16:36of I think they've all dated. Yeah, that's true, and I love
- 16:42everything about this, you guys. Britney Spears and her mom they reunited.
- 16:47Brittany took to Instagram and she said, my sweet mama showed up at my
- 16:51doorstep yesterday after three years. It's been such a long time with family.
- 16:55There's always things that need to be worked out, but time heals all wounds.
- 16:59And after being able to communicate what I've held in for an extremely long
- 17:03time, I feel so blessed that we were able to try to make things
- 17:07right. I love you so much. Pssss. It just should be ps
- 17:12but that's what she said. I'm so blessed that we have coffee together after
- 17:17fifty or fourteen years. Let's go shopping afterwards. That's very sweet. Life's
- 17:21too short. To be holding grudges, you know, but this is I
- 17:23feel like this is where we're turning everybody who's been against Britney Spears, all
- 17:27of you guys. She needed her mama back in her life and now and
- 17:33now you're accusing us. James just haven't been as supportive as I have with
- 17:38Britney Spears and where she needs to be in I had her first album.
- 17:42I don't want to read all of the novella Instagram. I'm not supporting her.
- 17:48I just I feel like you guys have all been like she's she's kind
- 17:52of lost it that kind of in a way. Now she's got mama back,
- 17:56I feel like we're good. Yeah, that's good. To help it
- 18:00is. Papa is going to help
