- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: whatever else in between we have been on top of it and it's it this is like the last like the last week or just we get past this then it's just gonna be just a flood of
- 1:23[SPEAKER_01]: training camp and and and all that like I mean, there's been a little bit until until next I don't know what April June.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: Not stop.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: Not stop.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's free season starts next week or not enough.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, uh next month, uh the Hall of Fame game I believe is like in a couple of weeks like it's, I mean, Drew Reeves has been inducted it inducted into the Hall of Fame for his ballot.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we uh, this was a center scut that we got when we went to saw C centers when it got released.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: We wanted to put this up so it out there because That's, this is the thing.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: This has been a theme of the off season, it's just a theme of the 2026 season for the Saints, of this leap that Tyler's shocked at the team, that the fans, everyone, the band-based, the pot, everyone who is in touch with the Saints.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: This is like the biggest and most important thing of the season, is that this potential lead that Tyler Schuck hopefully can make ending the 2021 season.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about them before and on NFL Daily, Greg Rosenthal and John Blanger did their quarterback draft for rankings or whatever.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: Chuck was like 20 seconds.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: So like the leap we want to talk about is like What does that leap look like like we keep talking about this right like what but what does it look like Statistical wise just losing your eyeballs wise all the metrics we can think of a what it looks like
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: If Tyler shook does take a leap in his second year after Saints quarterback, and that's what the theme of this episode is.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: Me is that I got $8 on the Wi-Fi for this.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's a drop in the bucket for you.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's one, one percent.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: Snuck it.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: In a span of two weeks, this woman has been to the mobdies.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: Hawaii, I don't even know if I've lost it.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: And she's talking about I dropped $8 for the O.Y.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: Bob and I, okay, that I lived through, I lived through me abroad.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: I lived through her.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: Shout out to Dante, who also went on a vacation, but like he didn't tell nobody in the discourse.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, about it, bro.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: You already know, bro.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like, he in the Croatia.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: He, he had a country's iron even heard of, right?
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's cool.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: Let's put it into this
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: But I do, before we talk about what that leap looks like, and I don't think this is going to be like, you know, what keep it like a nice 40 minutes or whatever, I would be remiss if we didn't talk about this cultural phenomenon, this cinematic cultural phenomenon going on right now.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: In regards to Christopher Nolan's, the Odyssey, recently coming out.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: I know you haven't seen it yet.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: I know you haven't seen it yet.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see it.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: I saw it.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: We got back in Florida on Monday.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we got back, so we, me and my daughter went, we wouldn't saw it Monday night.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: I originally had my ticket to go see it and I maxed something in a millimeter film.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: Only like, there's only very few feel like theaters like like that that you can see the moon and because she wanted to see it was, bro.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that was brilliant.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: No, Brad.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, they allowed some trash back here, not, Brad.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: Just some y'all, man.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think I know talent for that shit.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: Now get all the stuff you brought on the, I'm calling them.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: Come on, call them.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: Tell me why.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: On Fourth of July, Brad, you would have thought it was, like, a rack, the rack war is going on in our apartment complex, Brad.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not shitty you, and J was like fuck this, like she caught because for us, like we live in like something California like wildfires and shit like that and like it was like you could be all the fireworks like being going off in the courtyard, bro.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like it was that bad, like the last four shaking, the last four brews like the 12 o'clock.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I won't one time, I've done, I don't feel like I have run, but I took a call to police.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: I pulled, lease, bro.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, just getting back to the R.C.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was a really good movie.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: It was two hours 45 minutes.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: It was like a cinematic visual masterpiece that Anne Hathaway was fantastic in it.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: Matt Damon was really good in it.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: John, like his arm was really good in it.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: It was just a really good movie.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: It didn't get to the level of great to me.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know if that,
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's just because I like Greek mythology, but like I've never like loved it.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: So like I don't know if the disconnect was there and for like I don't know what it was, but like Tom Holland put out a James Hearst performance in the Odyssey, bro.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like it was like he got the job done, but I was like.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: You're phoning it in like it but I just I didn't I didn't I didn't love the Tom home before it of all the actors and and performances that movie it felt like his his performance out of place like it felt James herstish and I was just like and I know he's going to bring it and brand new home I know he's going to be great as Peter Parker Spider-Man and I just I don't know bro I was just like okay all right okay we need to go see him
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, Mia said got out perform by his wife, which is funny because like her role in the movie is like super super small like super small.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: We've got them a list is in this town.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: Then day, uh, Sterely staring Tom Holland.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: And have the way my girl Lupita Lupita's in it, uh, John Berthals in it, Matt Damon.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: Hey Travis Scott, Michigan.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he is.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: This is random, okay, listen, this is, this is from Christopher Nolan, right?
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: Christopher Nolan, I'm paraphrasing, but his casting of Travis Scott, it was because he said like hip hop, the current hip hop is like the current modern day of like how it gets to the people.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: And he's making that connection of how like the Odyssey and poetry and things like that of how it kind of tri- matriculates down to everyone and how hip hop, in all its forms, it's obviously it's from our culture, but like everyone fucking loves hip hop,
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: So, at least he put thought into it, shit.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: He did, like, it's like when you watch movies from the 90s and shit, there'd just be like a random ramp in it, like, yes.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: So, like, musta rhymes in Halloween.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: How do you like it?
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: Musta rhymes, you know, like, the start of movies, it's like, what the heck?
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: But that was like, that was Christopher Nolan's, like, reasoning and logic behind it.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't as, as random.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: Victor Martinez said, hey guys, each fan, thank you already saw it.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, Victor, quick question, who's a better prospect and who will be a better down down the line?
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: G into your journal.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: I love writing a question, but we'll take it.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about this during our prospect of the week series.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: I just think in a vacuum, we watched the whole bunch of Ginti last season when we were preparing for the draft.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: We watched the whole bunch of during my love, like the whole bunch during my love preparing for this past draft, I came away more impressed with during my love just in a vacuum as a prospect.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: I now, who has the better, better done the line?
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: Ironically, I love, I think Gentie is in a much better place in his career right now.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: We have he has, you know, they addressed the office line in the offseason, Brock Bowers is coming back healthy, which would just change his how the defense plays the Raiders and like Clint Kubiak is a big factor in Trump.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: Like we saw it very briefly when the office line was healthy and Clint Kubiak had a healthy
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: Alman Kamara's career and that, you know, trunk-cated season.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even realize I was listening to I think it was the Matt Harman-Bancy football podcast that in total Jinti had like 1,500 yards in like a large number of touchdowns last season Which like like skimmy's yards, I should say.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it was like, hey, I'm like really like it just it didn't feel like it was hard earned You know, it's more like all of it was earned.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: It was none of we can't be super
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I don't know.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: That was that's my project.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, but I don't know about where you cut the same thing.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like, um, you know, once we really dug into love, it was like, who is this special and we, I love, I love Jenny.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: I love, I would love the same to drive to teach last year, but he just he's not his special.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_01]: He's a really good running back.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: He's not his special.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: as love, that as far as career, like, you know, running bads bro, so much goes into being like a success.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: So running back, it's tough.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: But I think love gonna have a great career.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: Man, that love film, how does it look in like that LeBron and John Wall get from who's like, hmm, Jesus.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: You don't you love when you go to the tape and he's like, yeah, you know, hey, these are all right, these are all right, then you dig it to it and it's like,
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yes, that's what it was watching during my love last season.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see, Mark said, Troy's cast list reminds me of the Odyssey, some of the best actors of the generation.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: Fun fact, I've never, I've still had a never seen Troy.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: Torn is good.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: I know, I mean, it has Brad Pitt and Eric Banner, right?
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: He is.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, let's talk a little bit like the belt is before you even take our first break.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: This word of Tyler's Chuck taking this leap in this conversation as it says matriculated all throughout the off season, but when you hear that whoever's saying it, even us, what comes to your mind of like what you think that looks like on the foot, like just on the football field, like what would it look like for a Chuck to take a leap and taking that next step as a quarterback?
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: I keep going back to, you know, Drake may, Drake may work a year to Drake may the second year.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_01]: And like take the team success out of it, the Super Bowl, you know, that stuff take that out of it.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: But just like that, mass of leap you saw that Drake may took as far, like the statistically, hi, look, you know, on film because Drake may his first year was, you know, you had a solid, he came in, you know, he started like after a week, five weeks, six or something like that.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: And if you watched, like, if you really, really watched, it's like, okay, this is a guy.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like, this is a good quarterback here.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: Surroundings were terrible.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: Coaching was terrible.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_01]: They weren't winning games.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_01]: All that was terrible, but you could see, like, okay, I could see the vision here if we build a rounder.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_01]: Similar to Talashok last year.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, you know, he won, like, what, five of whatever games he played.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: He, you know, he,
- 12:48[SPEAKER_01]: Statistics weren't great.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: They weren't eye-popping and nothing like that, but when you watched, if anybody who watched, Tala shook film, that's a guy there.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's a guy.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: So you want to transition from that to, okay, we got some of the series.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: Now, can't he be kidding?
- 13:05[SPEAKER_01]: The Drake may leak, because Drake may took a leap leap like that.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: You, Russell, that might be asking a lot, even if you take it out like this team success, just like purely from a QB performance standpoint, that's a huge leap, but that's what you hope it for though, like that's what you hope it for where it's just like man, this is the guy, this is the franchise quarterback and it, you know, he's making all the right
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: you know, he's adapted into different defenses.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: The big key thing I want to see from him is how he handles for roasted defenses, you know, and like I can't eat this because it's going to be hard.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be tough sledding.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to get beat up early, get pressure.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: How can he overcome those things born in the second year?
- 14:00[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's fascinating because like sometimes
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: You'll see, like, you know, that's the softball slupper, whatever.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes what happens is you see, you know, CD's crowd, for example, whatever, like, really good work a year.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: And you just, everything's looking promising.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_01]: And then the second year, it's like, what happened?
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it wasn't bad, but like, you would think,
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: They would go this trajectory, but some time it stays flat, or sometimes it gets a little worse.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I think sometimes they just like, maybe they take on too much, you know, because like, I'm gonna take on them.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'll take full control and all for you and some of the call protects us and this and that, maybe they're not ready.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they're ready for all that, you know?
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it is, coaching changes, stuff like that.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: So it's gonna be interesting, Brown, to see how the title shut the end of it.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: You hit on something that I think that's important or just regards like the defensive piece.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: And that's a big thing like that I am interested to see how it's gonna play out.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I just pull up the same schedules like man, who are like some of the toughest defensive they play this upcoming season.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, okay, the lions, like that might, that first week might be a shootout.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: The Ravens is
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: better quality in defense, but they have not been the Ravens defense of one year's past, but they got mentored, just admit to I expect that true.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_00]: Mentor, they have Kyle Hamilton, but like once old, what weakest is, one, two, three, four.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_00]: Week Bob, the meet-up game is going to be a well, even I would say the week before that, they play the Falcons.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: And that Jeff Oldbrook defense was always been good.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: But like that Vikings game that meet up game.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: We, because that's the floor, that's the floor as we do in Brown.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: I've been like this nigga crazy, Brown.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, you know, he's, you know, black, you know, black.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, me, me, no black.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he black on the, by that Caucasian black.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: He said, no, I didn't say, and I wasn't mean to can you still talk about it, but it's like Vikings and then after that, they face the giants, but then after that, the Paris games, Steelers defense, uh, then after that, after the Paris game, it's like the Browns defense, like those are, yeah, like those are like those are the ones.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I think I think Tampa Bay's defense, I think they, I think they'll be a unit this year.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not for roaches, but I think they'll be
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: I do Roderick's it could you imagine Lions game being a shootout and come and six comes out on top with a three hundred yard game.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: Lewis said, I think the things have the best quarterback development set up in the NFL.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: I never understood the hate on certain TVs.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: Most TVs need a series need serious development way.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: Most TVs who need serious development don't have a good support system.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_00]: I will say that I want to the
- 17:05[SPEAKER_00]: Best talent in a very short time that we've seen with Kellon Moore as his ability to develop young quarterbacks.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't want to get into the weeds of like Spencer Rather, because I know people go like, well, Spencer Rather, I didn't have a good season.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_00]: Just in terms of the belt mitt, Spencer Rather made from year one from rookie to his second year, he was leaps and bounds better.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_00]: Even if the wins didn't come from it,
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: even from Chuck, like we saw from Chuck from like OTA in training camp, to the time he was finally starting, like the development that he made in such a truncated amount of time, and I really feel like that is killing more, like that's one of his life, it's so hard to develop quarterback, where like if he's, and he's already shown to be able to do it, not with just with quarterbacks, but with young quarterbacks, that is a cheat code.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: That is a cheat code.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: For me, the just getting back to Chuck though, and I don't think we're going to have an answer to this at the end of his second year.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_00]: I'd probably not.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: But when I think elite, it's to me is like, what quarter, like, what type of quarterback is he going to be?
- 18:19[SPEAKER_00]: in this league is he going to be a win with quarterback or win because of quarterback and I'm not this and that's not to say that him being a win because of quarterback is going to be easy like there's we've had this conversation as podcast there's what maybe six to seven I don't know six to seven win because of quarterbacks in the entire league maybe eight
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: But you can still be a win with quarterback and be a really damn good quarterback, right?
- 18:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_00]: And I just, I think we'll have a better picture of where he's gonna be on that spectrum after his second year.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_00]: Because, okay, I'll ask you this.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_00]: And it's early, right?
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: Cause he just finished the second year and we're talking about Drake May.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_00]: Are you ready to say that Drake May is a win because of quarterback or is he like a high level win with quarterback?
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think I think he's, I don't know if he's, I don't know if I'm ready to say he's there yet, but he's trending towards winning towards win because of, because of, right, he played, he played that good in, in, in, in that scheme.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: And we're like,
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: Joshua Dale's scheme is hard, like he, yeah, he eats up quarterbacks and he demands a lot from quarterbacks.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_01]: They still do a lot of the old school asking like the quarterback to call a lot of protections and make a lot of the calls and change their calls and stuff like that.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: Like he did it with Tom Brady.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, as Drake, Drake made it still do all that stuff, man.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like Drake made it really, really getting there.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, like, like, that a good defense last year, but it wasn't like a shit down, you know, drive deep into nothing like that.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_01]: So now I'm out there, Drake made, I think Drake made his own track.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's what you would want to feel about shook at the end of the season.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like, man, I don't know if he's that guy yet.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: But we even saw just in this passion as a rookie, you know?
- 20:14[SPEAKER_01]: Like,
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: He was the, he was the spark.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: He was the spark that caused this team to miss a getting out of defense also improved a lot, which I helped the offense not have the score, like 30 points because they couldn't even touch 30 points.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_01]: But some of the plays shook me with close games, all the games were close.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't, you know, he made the plays.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he did, I don't know, and I don't have a great support in class.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_00]: up.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_00]: Let me, I'm just, Wayne said I am, let's see, I don't know what Wayne is talking about.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, Mia said, hey, when the media gives us attention, me and whatever, the car you haven't said y'all think the scenes could be a top 12 in run defense.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they,
- 21:00[SPEAKER_01]: got they got his Brian recie or a rotational player at that point maybe so I mean Christian Miller if he if he's that plug-in we thank you could be you know got you know well that's well and just pray to still he just never strike me somebody who like
- 21:21[SPEAKER_01]: He is like, he wants to stop the run, but it's not like, it's like not like a priority for him.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a priority, like he wants to manage the run, put it like that.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_00]: I will say, man, like you've seen the Saints this off season, definitely show intent to win to improve the run defense.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, that's pretty Jenny and signings, like his his profile is just being a great run support run software.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: Kaden Ellis versus the run, I really looked more of a family against the past.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: But like the Mario Davis was just a demon.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: Because he just knew what was coming before anything happened.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like he was just in the backfield all the time.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: So I think you could.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think you could actually see a drop off in the right defense with the Mario Davis out.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: But maybe Kaden Ellis, you know, it feels that role well.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's interesting.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_00]: It is.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_00]: Let me just say the y'all think Jayton Daniels will be able to shake back from his sophomore slump before the injury over he pulls it out.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's interesting.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's interesting.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_00]: She brought that up because we've been watching quarterback season three and he's.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_00]: on it.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, I mean, she, I'm sure she, you know, I'm, it's, what's your single mother?
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if she has had a husband in the picture, I
- 22:58[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't seen them, but you know, just know a lot of moms like that.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: And she took her son and look, he's been successful, raised a good kid, he's stuff like that, but oh, she hoped to know him, boys, she hoped to know that for a whole, to know he got a little, you got to give him just a little space.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, she was on a, she was, as soon, I mean, Jake and Daniels was on my TV for probably three seconds, and then boom, yes, she is.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think the brain is like every other play on their wives, they grow a little bit Yeah, it's mama right there, man
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: You know this buddy, you brought that up.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, like, all the shows like the quarterback seasons that receive her season, or the two seasons, I don't know if there's maybe there's two seasons receive it.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't think I seen a player, it would be them.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's always them and their partner, like them and their wife, whatever.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_00]: And this is the first time.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I know Barrett Barrett Barrett is kind of like a mama's boy.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a mama's boy.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's trying to be in a mama's boy.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like a camp, you know, camp ward.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, both his mom and dad are there, you know, quite a bit.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, his mother, his age and his business manager, his mother, his best friend, and I'll worry about that just for like a person's death.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm like, yes, usually I don't think well.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes it works out, but usually that stuff don't end well when you make business and family like that.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_00]: So since you've been watching it,
- 24:29[SPEAKER_00]: What is your perception of bacon bacon?
- 24:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think we're like episode three or maybe episode four I put it in a disco and like as I was watching us like many of the turn is all because it's they can be like they can be like They can make it right I just use the analogy that Baker is the quarterback version of CD-Ds In that that's a good one and they had a little tough on that too If he is on your team and he's your quarterback like you you know you fucking you love them you love them
- 24:59[SPEAKER_00]: But if you are, you play against him, you fucking hate him.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: I said the same thing.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_01]: I would say he was the quarterback version of Sean Peaton, like just like, yes, that too.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: Same thing, bro.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, 100% of you hate coach.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_00]: That's my fucking hate coach, right?
- 25:15[SPEAKER_00]: That's my coach.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: That's my coach, that's my coach.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_01]: But every opponent that play him could not stand down.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's the same way we're bigger, bro.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like I can't stand his hands, but you know,
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: I easily see why his teammates like love him right exactly you could easily see that and he's he's mature quite a bit then uh and he was I mean he's still that little you know got the fake chip on his shoulder and
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's just the face shape, which is funny, because he went one over all, bro.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_00]: I let the chip go, bro.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like, let the chip go, bro.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_00]: You went one, one, got one in the NFL draft.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_01]: And his very much, they're CD2, CD2, G for like, he just, yes, every, every little slight just burns him alive and you would know if we get it.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like, the stuff was Steve Wilk who saw it like, so like, I was like, bro, you were asking Carolina, like, bro, he wants Steve Wilk to do, bro.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_01]: So Steve Wilk, bro.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so we will take our first break.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna get back after this.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: I wanna talk about stats and statistically, what it would look like if Tyler's shook, does have a leap in your two.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_00]: So we're gonna talk about that.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_00]: Right after this break, we'll be right back after this.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_00]: What's my mouse is working?
- 26:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yo, what up, what are you looking at?
- 26:42[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I'm checking out this website, this site is Cheeksboro.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_01]: In the 21st century, how do you have a crappy website?

- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: Make sure to tell him things Black Party sent you.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_00]: We are back from our break.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_00]: Mia said, mind you they ain't answering my question.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_00]: Listen, we need to borrow Kevin's by-man's a little bit.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_00]: We start talking and say, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait,
- 28:37[SPEAKER_00]: the commanders invested a lot in terms of improving their defense and the offices in and offensively it is barren as hell.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like it is the opposite of the Saints pretty much.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's bad, right?
- 28:50[SPEAKER_00]: They obviously they have terrible cloring.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_00]: Debo's not on the team anymore.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_00]: They drafted in Tony of Williams.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think I'm sure you don't know why we're
- 29:02[SPEAKER_00]: And then Zach Ertz got a terrible injury last season.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_00]: And I know they signed up.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think they signed a trigger concoal in the off season.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_00]: You know, that's tight.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_00]: So it's got, he's going to have to put a lot on him to go out and make it enough.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: And who's, who's up?
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like, who's their OC?
- 29:21[SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh, they got a David Blow.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I got on with the quote and back for the Lions.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, hey, they told him about it.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's all about him bringing a Ben Johnson off.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, what's going on?
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'll talk to the boat for a day and camp.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_01]: They can't get in the camp.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_01]: In the year, bro.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: How do you know?
- 29:39[SPEAKER_01]: Get a jab, bro.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so not day camp.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, what?
- 29:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry, who's the, to hate code to the comment.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: Just Dan Quinn, Dan Quinn.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: There you go.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_00]: Which, that was, listen, man, that was just so, and I, it went to prize me.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_00]: It just goes to show you how quickly the NFL is like, what have you done for me lately?
- 30:00[SPEAKER_00]: And it was really in his, what, first season with the, in the championship, in the first season.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_01]: And then you, after you're doing, you might be out of the, oh, it's crazy.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, we're getting back to Tyler's shock.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_00]: I like to spot guys kind of going all over the league a little bit.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_00]: What, what's the, in terms of the statistics?
- 30:23[SPEAKER_00]: What does a leap look like for you to you for his stats?
- 30:27[SPEAKER_00]: We can keep it, you know, I don't know.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_00]: Completion percentage, yards, touchdowns, interceptions when I say touchdowns, I mean, like total touchdowns, not just throwing touchdowns.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what does that have to do with graphics?
- 30:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's essentially, I do.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_00]: I do.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_01]: So let me, let me pull those, let's, let's go from where we, where we started to try to project where we could go.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, this, this right here is some of his good stats from last year, um, which, you know, kind of hard to find, honestly.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, the rest of me, and instead of doing that, let's start with the struggles, actually.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, go there.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_00]: In terms of statistically, there we go.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so these are just his statistical struggles from last season.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_00]: So as you can see, as he was 25th in efficiency in deep passing, his EPA per dropback was consistently ranked among the leads least efficient quarterback per play basis, 26 in terms of producing three touchdowns to one intersection on deep attempts.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_00]: Like, as you can see, and they
- 31:46[SPEAKER_00]: Shout out to the front office, out out to the coaching staff, really tried to address this and for the agency, especially in the draft, adding the receivers that they added.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_00]: But completely only nine of 36 paths is traveling 20 plus air yards, 25%.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the 25% deep while completion rate.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_00]: And then his turnovers and his limited starts.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, at six interceptions and four fumbles, when he did start.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: Like, and look, we could, we could come up with plenty of excuses, and they are legitimate excuses.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: We saw the actual product on the field last year, you know, from the past catches, from the offensive line, guard, spot, center, injuries, running back, running back, oh my god, the lack of a running game.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: So many reasons that these statistics are like this.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_01]: The deep ball, especially obviously, Rashida, he got traded after this one game.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_01]: We just ran one game of the two games.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_01]: One or two, anyway, they didn't have a connection set up.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_01]: And once she was going, that was the deep ball.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, obviously, they had a couple of teeth, because they go to a lot of people, but that was pretty much it.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_01]: But that's, that's one where I really, really, really want to see and prove it from him.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yeah, especially with what they've invested.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_01]: Getting tastes of, you know, Jordan Tyson, getting Bryce Lance, Barry Brown.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_01]: Um, obviously a lot of me always want to be in a mix of deep and immediate and short.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_01]: So I just want to see, I want to see that number just improve from from a tip standpoint and from an efficiency standpoint.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_00]: And that's the thing is like he has a town like he has a deep arm talent.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's not Of course.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's not to do with his arm frame or anything like that and I think like just fans
- 33:45[SPEAKER_00]: They're so much that goes into hitting successful deep balls in NFL.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like you got to have the protection.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_00]: You also have to like get the right, you know, the play that Kevin Moore call is that the right play for the defense that they're that they're in for the allow the receiver to go be able to get open.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_00]: One thing I do like,
- 34:09[SPEAKER_00]: that Kevin started to do a lot more as a season progressed, especially with Alabe is in the beginning of the season.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_00]: It was calling like a lot of short stuff like it was just getting so matting like he was using crystal like short stuff, short routes with Alabe which he had as a season went on.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_00]: Then he started unlocking and I don't think he didn't unlock anything and Chris Alabe's game because it's always been there.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_00]: But then he started calling those double moves later and like then later in the season.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_00]: And they was connecting the most on those balls, even the play against JC Horne that first Panthers game, it was a stopping go.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_00]: So I want, so part of it is also offensively too.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's like I want Kelemore to start the season off like,
- 34:51[SPEAKER_00]: Let's attack these defenses like take keep them honest, but I will say kind of we're talking about like the point of this theme of this podcast is taking that next step is when those players are called and they're there in the offense as long as assuming there's protection that he's has the time, Tyler shook to take that leap has to hit those those consistent.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_00]: You don't got to hit all of them, but you got to hit them consistently.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like we seem like I hear a 25% that that's not going to cut it.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_01]: Now, obviously, deep passes are a low percentage passes because they're hard, but you know, you want it.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_01]: Derek, are you saying what?
- 35:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're hard.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: They're not to me.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's a deep, baby.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_01]: I hit of all love them.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_01]: But you want 50% you know, above 50% at least on those deep passes, 20 points plus 20 plus yards.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I think you're going to see it better.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's going to improve, man, especially with
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's a guy, like it is, is able to contribute this year, you know what I'm saying?
- 35:51[SPEAKER_00]: Even, and I say this a little joking leave, but like not really like even if he gives like the Brandon Coleman back in the day, like a 40-yard catch.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_00]: What do you mean?
- 36:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's huge, like that's huge.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_01]: give me another thing right here, you know, the turnovers, you had, you know, six intersections.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he wasn't like a turnover machine, but no, he did kind of wreck up at times, especially like in some of the games that just kind of got away from him, where they were just, you know, just trying to get up out of there and use.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_01]: take your shots when you didn't need one need to.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_01]: Some of it was played all the time.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_01]: Some of it was the past catchers.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_01]: You had a couple of fun pools and stuff like that.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, obviously those should clean up what you get protection.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_01]: But honestly, I'm fine with a couple of
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: Interceptions of fumbles as long as you're making a place and always be at a bounce back from them like that with him.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_01]: I remember the last game of the season he threw that in the section on that, uh, you know, they kept running that double slam or whatever, but then he, you know, even though the game was pretty much out of hand after that, he came back in there that, uh, like a touchdown drive.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_00]: Is that running for the help, bro?
- 36:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right in the belt and it was just nice to see that just that mentor for the two.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_01]: to just like, man, I mean, let's go up again.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's use to see that from breeze all the time.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you could throw in a section of Dumpling.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: And let's go and get one after that, you know, I'm saying just got to get one, just to make you feel good, you know, I'm saying so I like seeing that, but and as far as the efficiency, I want to see, I want to see that EPA take up, you know, I'm saying I want to see that you pay get up to around, you know, at least in the teens, you know, 15 or 12, something like that, hit that efficiency rate of that just shows how, you know, how much of an actual threat you are.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: from a down to down basis at being successful from down to down, from a down to down basis.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_01]: So I really want to see that take up because 25th thing I'll cut it.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_00]: I also want to like, you know, we speak in like football, lexicon and lingo all the time, so it's like easier for us.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like, but maybe someone who's listening or watching this podcast doesn't understand like what actually EPA is, what it stands for.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_00]: This is, let's break it down to our listeners and our viewers like what EPA actually is, so they have the context of what we're talking about when we're talking about EPA.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a expected points added so like basically you measure every play, you know, first down, first down, first and ten, first and eight.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: How much production you create on each of those plays and you could, you know, you kind of like a little math that you could measure.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: How six, how successful it is as far as like the distance from where there plays to score an actual touch down.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_01]: And once you get the bet, all gone, you know, you get a nice little, a little number, you have to calculate and it's not an end all be all number, you know, I'm saying because it's just like everything is, it's a statistic, you know, saying so, you go, you have to take it with, you have to use it in context, but everything else.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_01]: So just like with quarterback rating, you know, you can see somebody might have a one point.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the 120 point eight quarterback rating is like, okay, what does that mean?
- 39:01[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you got to look at the whole all.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_01]: Usually, that's telling you how functional and successful the offense was.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_01]: A good thing with EPA is you can kind of break it down and do like EPA, prep, dropback, stuff like that day, real deep to see how successful quarterback and usually, usually, not always, but usually it lines up with the take.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_01]: You know, first is like quote QB rating.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_01]: You've seen quarterbacks be trash, but have like a great QB rating just because they had like a good completion percentage or whatever and accidently got like two touchdowns and that'll give you a good QB rating.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_01]: EPA is a little more granular than that.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_01]: So it filters out some of the, uh, some of the trash.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_01]: Not only for some of the trash, but some of the trash.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_01]: So that's one of the statistics I like to kind of look at.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_00]: It is.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_00]: I keep talking about start out to the 40 concurrent viewers.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_00]: We have on right now we have 141 views.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_00]: Dante said everything to do with who he was the right to.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's a big factor.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's a huge factor, bro.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: Huge, huge, huge.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_01]: And one thing I know.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: something out of this is they check out a thinking football on YouTube.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_01]: He puts out some good videos every night and then he did one on Tyler's shirt recently and you know he was very complimentary Tyler's shirt because he was somebody who said he didn't think he'd be good coming into the league and stuff like that.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_01]: He broke him down broke down to all 22 was a real complimentary buddy.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_01]: He did point out that there were times that Chuck did like kind of leave the pocket.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: early, you know, saying our two, two quickly, and we, we know why I'm like, I mean, come over like that.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: The offensive line was, it was rough.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_01]: It was rough, but there was something,
- 40:37[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we worried about him with him coming in.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, how he would handle it.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: And he had a little way better than we thought he would do.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: If you just got to, you sort of just got to hang in the pocket.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_01]: And it's the telekip balance because you obviously want to stay healthy.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_01]: You want to get your ass whip back there, but you also got to kind of hang in there and kind of just trust the protection, which it's hard to trust the protection when they just getting whip when freaking right for guns getting whip reeds getting whip against like what and and that's why I was just going to say that the the hope.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_00]: is that Whit David at Words at Left Guard, Whit Eric McCoy at Center, you hope that that negates him, like the need for him to feel like he needs to lead the pocket.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_00]: Early, because then if he's able to hang in the pocket longer, then that play can maybe go the way it's supposed to go up his own, like a longer developing route down the field or whatever like that.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_00]: So the offensive line is gonna be key.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_00]: Story Tyler said, Chuck was my favorite quarterback in his draft to me, he felt like he was the most NFL ready.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_00]: Listen, like, it is document, like, our, our, our, our, Drenewitt Tyler shook has been documented, like heavily documented, going back to last all season to this season.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_00]: And so he just, like, the thing is like continuing to build on it, which is kind of like the whole reason why we're doing this podcast.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_00]: Do you, like, for me, when I think of, like, just kind of statistical,
- 42:29[SPEAKER_00]: 33,550 yards passing, 30 touchdowns, 13 to 14 intersections.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I could see him produce the number.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_01]: I could actually see him producing it.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think you, I'm gonna take you by more yards than that, too.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you very much.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_00]: The only reason I went lower on the yards is I just think Kevin really wants to run the ball.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_00]: Ball, heavily, but if he could put up, I think it's relative, right?
- 43:07[SPEAKER_00]: Cause he could go ahead and put a stat line up like that in like,
- 43:11[SPEAKER_00]: If they're not winning, he might not be the reason why they're not winning.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_00]: But like there's a chance that he can in theory take that leap we're talking about.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_00]: We're seeing this like this leap, but maybe the wind don't come.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's also very possible.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_00]: If like if the defense is take regresses, but like he's having to shoot out a going to shoot out shootouts every game, but he's like actually like doing well in those shootouts, like he's throwing three touchdowns and trying to go banned for ban against whoever whatever quarterback he's going against.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_00]: That in essence is a leap, right?
- 43:46[SPEAKER_00]: even if the defense is, is letting him down.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_00]: But after this, our second and last break of the show, we're going to take this right now and then come back and talk about the things that pull up the statistics and things that Tyler Shuck did well last season and how he can build upon that as we discuss what it looked like for Tyler Shuck to take a leap in year two.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to be right back after this break.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_00]: Wolf, you know something that we don't talk about enough is football fans, people in general, getting enough sleep.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_00]: And it's weird, bro, because I'm kind of known for getting my sleep on.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_00]: But it ain't, it ain't sleep sleep.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it ain't that sleep sleep.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_00]: That good good sleep.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_00]: And because of that, we are happy to talk about our new sponsor and that is summer sleep.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_00]: Some sleep is a sleep aid that you mix in contains melatonin, contains magnesium, and it will help you get that good, good sleep throughout the night.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_00]: If you are a Saints fan and at nighttime, you're thinking about Marcus Williams missing that tackle.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_00]: You're thinking about that.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_00]: No call.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_01]: You're thinking about burning Davis, where I'll be sitting there for you.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_01]: Just looking at the ceiling,
- 45:06[SPEAKER_01]: Angola, I was trying to scapegoat.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's clutch bro like you know, it got it.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_01]: It calms you down.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_01]: You take you know, you just drop it in some water, but eat out as a water about 30 minutes before you go to sleep stir up or some ice in there, knock it back.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_01]: It tastes good.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_01]: It got all kind of different flavors.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_01]: No, there's a range of green and mango.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_01]: This is the barements right here.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_01]: You're not gonna calm you down to get you ready for sleep And then you just like out-of-step Peace will sleep in because there are new sponsors.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_00]: That means if you are listening to this podcast if you go to get some that is G
- 45:40[SPEAKER_00]: T-S-O-M dot com and use the code word block party you get 10% off of your first order.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_00]: So we are hooking up our viewers and our listeners of the podcast So if you want to get that good good sleep knockout and relax then go to get some dot com use that block party code or the referral link that we're going to put in our social media or do you some and then you will be sleeping like this
- 46:10[SPEAKER_00]: some sleep, block part.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_00]: We are back before we go on.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_00]: I just wanted to just have a quick, I gotta get this off my chest and it's it.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_00]: I am just so perplexed of how as a business organization the Saints run their whole operation.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_00]: I can't tell you as a consumer.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_00]: We've been having this part, we've been doing this podcast for six plus years.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_00]: We've gone to a Texans away meet-up game.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think two Rams meet-up games at this point.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, been two Rams meet-up games, a Chargers game, and have had no problems at all whatsoever in getting group tickets for a large party.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_00]: For our upcoming meet-up, the Vikings game, patreon.com slash thing spot party becoming YouTube member so you can go with us.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_00]: There's going to be, at least right now, the count
- 47:09[SPEAKER_00]: of all who want to go together as a group to sit at the game if not all together close to all together and the things as a business just do not offer group tickets and so when I say group tickets what I mean is that most teams and I wanted to do my research and see if every team offered a group rate prior to doing this podcast by the next time but what they offer is that for however
- 47:37[SPEAKER_00]: And then it's kind of like a flat rate.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_00]: So you don't have to go through a third party site to buy 20 tickets and pay, you know, 20, whatever fees and taxes, whatever, it's just a set price because you're coming as a group.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_00]: And the Saints just say that they don't like it, they have not had that option available.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_00]: It makes no sense.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_00]: And, no.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_00]: super, super disappointing, super frustrating that, you know, Dante and I were talking to the representative this morning, it's not anything else to represent it, it's just how the business is run.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_00]: Like, oh, you can have a suite for X amount of dollars or we can put you like, say kind of where we were at the Patriots game, but it was like $388 per person.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_00]: Like, like, I know Gale was like,
- 48:21[SPEAKER_00]: hard-up for money, but like I know you ain't that fucking hard-up.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_00]: Like, so anyway, super, super natural.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_00]: Super frustrating that we're able to get group ticket prices when we go to a way games as a way, but we, but
- 48:37[SPEAKER_00]: Literally four times four different teams four different occasions, but getting a group ticket price for the Saints in New Orleans is impossible.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_00]: It makes you know it's only one.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_01]: You know where it's not like with just us, like you just put your people that wanted to probably do coups.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_01]: And just the fact that it's not hard.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's not hard.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's not hard to do.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like
- 48:59[SPEAKER_01]: it's not hard to figure out.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's just crazy.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to, and I don't want to hear it because it's like limited inventory.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_00]: Like, if there's limited stuff, as much as I was back in cleaning for a vegan for people to become season ticket holders this, like these last couple of years, I know it ain't because of that.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_00]: God, they said I petitioned the chains in the name to in the
- 49:23[SPEAKER_00]: Listen, Dante and I were getting hot this morning, bro.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it just made no sense.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_00]: Like, what are we doing?
- 49:31[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, let me pull up this our final graphic for the night.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_00]: I had it up earlier, but then I changed it.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_00]: Just some of the things that Chuck did well last season as to Ricky and his limited starts.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_00]: So it just says highlights Tyler Shucks, his metrics, focus on elite intermediate passing efficiency, red zone precision, and out for pouring star quarterbacks in long third-doubt situation.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_00]: So these are the things that he did well last season at a very high rate in a limited sample size.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_00]: And we saw it, bro, like, yeah.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_00]: We just thought about EPA.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_00]: 14th in EPA on third and sixth plus.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_00]: 14th, sixth plus, bro.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_00]: like during the six, it is hard to convert on third and long and he was just out there signing that bitch and it was basically it was just like a lobby and like Bayley and I guess De Lawn too like we're going to like so like just like the the the the toolbox is going to be more field this year.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_00]: Ken like to me for him to take that to take this leap we're talking about even if this sport team doesn't get better like he missed days 14th but if it gets to like 12th or
- 50:42[SPEAKER_00]: Oh man, it's such a just a hard thing to do for a lot of quarterback, especially rookie quarterbacks.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_00]: And for him to be 14 in a limited semifinal size out the gate was huge.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, everybody will tell y'all for supporting this quarterback to take it as the hardest down in football.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_01]: Man, third six plus, third long, because that's when defense is getting freaky, this when they start doing all kind of exotic stuff and throwing all kind of different coverage that you're switching it up and the crowd is loud if you had a wig game and it's crazy.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like, for him to just excel at that,
- 51:22[SPEAKER_01]: and those with such limited experience, that's the type of stuff that gives me hope, because that's not, that's not scheme to up stuff.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I was like, a bill, that's not a clip of Bill Ballwell, we're a case man.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_01]: but he was talking about bin blocked.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_01]: Bro, are you talking about like, oh, you know, Tyler chef, oh, he was okay, you know, he got helped out a lot by his wire receiver and Kelly Moore and it was like, what are you even talking about, bro?
- 51:50[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you got helped out by the scheme, it's like,
- 51:53[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't watch one second of things.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_01]: Not one second.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_01]: You literally just opened up your state paid sales spreadsheet and sorted it and looked at where Tyler shook was at then formed your opinion.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like, stop it, right?
- 52:05[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, don't play with me.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 52:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I can't stand people like that.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like, just be honest, mate.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_01]: You just use their state Scotland.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_01]: And if you want to stay at Scott, that's fine.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_01]: But Lisa, just be honest, but don't act like you actually watched
- 52:18[SPEAKER_01]: watch them on film, whatever.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, I mean, just look at like, who, who Tyler shook was better than on third down?
- 52:25[SPEAKER_01]: Just as far as like converting third down.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's better than Josh Allen, Jericho, that press got samed on cattle waves.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_01]: He was converting better than those guys, you know, saying, guys who put it, you know, I was out of samed on.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's really, you know,
- 52:41[SPEAKER_01]: been some of the best in the league, you know what I'm saying at any point in the career.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_01]: So at that, that's the stuff that I look at and I'm like, you can't fake that, you know what I'm saying?
- 52:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's not that's not fake stuff because you can see it on film.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_00]: You can see it on film.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there are some pros he made in some games on third and long that just like, it was just like,
- 53:03[SPEAKER_01]: It just like, it was just like, I was like, I feel like we've been living like, what is last couple years?
- 53:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like what?
- 53:11[SPEAKER_01]: And then Basha is like, he has a menu of throws too.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like, yeah, some young quarterbacks he just throw hard, they throw darts all the time.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_01]: Or, you know, he has like a menu of throws.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_01]: He has like the nice little floaters.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_01]: He has the strong rockets.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_01]: He has, you know, the little side, twist arm, low throws, Eddie does some time.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, no look pass is he does sometimes like, he got a medical ruptu 100 man.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_00]: He does man.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_00]: And then the other thing he did well was intermediate passing and rez on efficiency.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_00]: So he used one 18, his quarterback weight was 118.5 achievement and intermediate passing range fifth and EPA per dropback.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'll rank some on the league's best on intermediate plays, and then red zone he had a seven to one touchdown interception ratio, and that's a, oh, I didn't realize that that's Crying the ice.
- 54:04[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, I grab because food breeze, bro.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_01]: I know I got the night on that, bro.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean he's taking a leap.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_00]: This is what this is what the leap would like which what we want the leap to become, right?
- 54:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think the exact exact.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_00]: But
- 54:22[SPEAKER_00]: The intermediate passing is such a big thing of how he, he won on the field because he did the thing where a lot of young quarterbacks just do not do well.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_00]: Even like a quarterback like Jalen Hurt, he just won it one of two and a row two years ago.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_00]: Struggles still in the ball and intermediate over the middle of the field.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_00]: And that was like Tyler shook super power.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_00]: that now also being paired with a player like Jordan Tyson who then where he does his best work at least in college was winning and intermediate and in that air of the field and things like that.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_00]: You really get the sense of like this is why this marriage could work.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_00]: This is why he could take this leap because it's obviously going to be on him, but I will say that
- 55:15[SPEAKER_00]: This team is done what, what teams and good organizations and front offices do, where they truly try to exignuate the young quarterback's drinks and bring the best out of him.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_00]: They drafted Jordan Tyson, the grass at Oscar Delp.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_00]: They have a running back and Travis HN, where he's gonna have a lot more help.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_00]: That is what this, but this leap,
- 55:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like, a big thing kind of too was like, the link doesn't mean that he has to go in and every game and has to be Superman.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't had the word that he gave every game.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_00]: But if he could just be that point guard at the quarterback position and move the ball effectively and score in the red zone and things like that, that in and of itself is, any of itself is a leap in terms of his progression in year two.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_01]: No question, bro.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_01]: And look, if he's, if he stays right there, like fit and APA put your back on the media throws, but then improves on his deep ass and it's 20 plus years.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, improves on just some of the quick check downs and take care about all that, you know, getting quick into your quick reads, when it's there and stuff like that.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_01]: If he improves and all those areas, then you,
- 56:30[SPEAKER_01]: then you entered that Drake me improvement area we talked earlier about you know saying thank you really taking the leap and it's there it could happen because of one the talent he has and two just like you talked about the investment that the sense of me in building around him to excetual weed his talent that he has like that's he's going to be a lineup in the red zone you know you 15
- 57:00[SPEAKER_01]: I got a lot of me right there.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_01]: I got Jason right got for late right there.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just gonna do I got Back in the day when the back in the day when the roster be stacking you you because the list like oh One thing I wanted to add just for me and taking this take taking a leap
- 57:27[SPEAKER_00]: This team and Tyler shook, they can't be a second half team.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to take this leap.
- 57:34[SPEAKER_00]: They can't be a second half team because too many times we saw it.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_00]: Not with just shook.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_00]: This also happened with Rattler and this was something like kind of a bunch of kind of kind of killing more to a little bit.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_00]: The team did, the office didn't really get going until like second half and then they bigger shit out like if Tyler shook is going to take a leap.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_00]: I want to see like that first 15 scripts like can we go and get a touchdown off the first like if if off the first offensive drive because that's what like the good elite quarterbacks do and I even the lead but just if you're taking that lead you're putting
- 58:09[SPEAKER_00]: the pressure on the opposing offense from jump, like go out there and score in the first half and then put points up in the first half.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_00]: As a post to hot was last season where like it could have been to get going and things like that.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's the thing for me that I want to see in year two for him to, for me to know that he's taking, he's taking a step forward.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_01]: Where you know how many points time to shook average in the first quarter per game?
- 58:34[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, I'm going to say six.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_00]: Zero.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_01]: There were points, average, first quarter.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_01]: Again, none.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_01]: You was terrible, bro.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_01]: It was the worst I've ever seen.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_01]: every week, they could not do anything or if they any it's a few times they did get like in feelable range.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_01]: They missed a damn kick.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, this is this give up.
- 59:00[SPEAKER_01]: Can we get to the second quarter already, please?
- 59:03[SPEAKER_01]: It was, it was amazing.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that got, they got to fix that.
- 59:06[SPEAKER_01]: There's been theories about like what's going on, like it's killing more, just trying to like,
- 59:11[SPEAKER_01]: You know, figure out what the defense is doing and I was like, no, man, you watch it, try it.
- 59:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like they're not tried it, try it, but they have like a first down penalty and then, you know, Yeah, throw it in completion on second down nice third and the loving and then you know,
- 59:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's why I mean, this is a block and it's like, what is It's like just a mess like I don't know if it's preparation or whatever they I don't know we have to figure that out I think have to figure that out.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying you need to be the best like first.
- 59:40[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what a score Oh, I forgot who I was listening to what they was they even went back and looked at like killing more with the Eagles Super Bowl year and he had one of the worst first quarter
