- 0:15like the woman at the well in John chapter 4.
- 0:18Our highest priority is making God real in your life.
- 0:21Whether you are listening in our app, in your favorite podcasting app,
- 0:25or on our website at watwm.org, we invite you to sit down with us as we look
- 0:31to the scriptures to learn more about God and to strengthen your daily walk with Jesus Christ.
- 1:03Be prepared is the familiar motto of the Boy Scouts of America,
- 1:07but takes on new meaning when eternity is considered.
- 1:10Jesus said, I go to prepare a place for you. If Jesus prepared,
- 1:15how much more do we need to prepare?
- 1:17He not only prepared, he prepared a place for you, a mansion.
- 1:22And only the prepared will receive their mansion.
- 1:26Join us in this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries as Kim discusses the
- 1:30truth of the necessity to be prepared.
- 1:33Hello, and thank you for joining us in this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries,
- 1:37and what a pleasure it is to be able to come to you as a lesson,
- 1:41again, out of John chapter 14.
- 1:43In John chapter 14, in verses 1 through 3, it reads as this,
- 1:47Let not your heart be troubled.
- 1:50Believe in God. Believe also in me.
- 1:55In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so,
- 1:59I would have told you, i go to prepare
- 2:03a place for you and
- 2:06if i go and prepare a place for you i will
- 2:09come again and receive you unto myself that where
- 2:12i am there you may be also i ask
- 2:16that you pay special attention to the words that jesus christ spoke when he
- 2:21said i go to prepare a place for you i don't think that there is any more precious
- 2:28promise that we can think of that as a believer in Christ that we have,
- 2:34knowing that we have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ,
- 2:38he himself has gone to prepare a place for you.
- 2:43It is incredibly important that you listen very closely to the next few words.
- 2:49For you see, he went away to prepare a place for you that where he is, you may be also.
- 2:56But he said that he would receive you unto himself.
- 3:00And that means you must accept his personal gift of salvation before you can
- 3:10receive that home not made with hands,
- 3:15eternal into the heavens.
- 3:18You see, he went away to prepare. He receives unto himself a prepared people.
- 3:26If Jesus Christ had to prepare how
- 3:30much more than must you and I for we're
- 3:33unfit to be in the kingdom of God except and
- 3:36through by Jesus Christ he said in John chapter 14 and verse 6 I am the way
- 3:43the truth and the life and no man cometh unto the father but by me he is the
- 3:47way and he prepared the way that we might be prepared to meet him,
- 3:53that he could receive us unto himself.
- 3:57The question that I have for you today, my friend, is, are you prepared?
- 4:04We spend an inordinate amount of time preparing ourselves before we leave the house.
- 4:09Many of us spend hours getting ready to leave.
- 4:14I ask you this question. If your soul would be required of you today,
- 4:20have you prepared to leave?
- 4:23My friend, it's important that we look nice when we leave.
- 4:27It's important that we put on our best foot so that others will come to us and
- 4:32speak to us and we have an opportunity to explain to them who Jesus Christ is.
- 4:37But the real preparation to leave needs to be made right here and right now
- 4:43that you might be prepared to lead this world.
- 4:46People die all the time unexpectedly.
- 4:51Young people die. Old people die. People in between die.
- 4:55People who are sick die. People who have never been sick a day and their life fall over dead.
- 5:01You see, when it's your time to come to meet face to face with Jesus Christ,
- 5:07when you're getting ready to leave this world,
- 5:10you better have been prepared because in revelation chapter 20 and verse 15
- 5:16jesus christ says that whosoever's name is not found written in the lamb's book
- 5:23of life shall be cast into hell fire the question we have for you today is are you prepared.
- 5:31Many of us spend a lot of time preparing for vacations.
- 5:35We spend time preparing for our careers.
- 5:39We spend time preparing for our jobs. And we spend time preparing for our children's education.
- 5:47We spend time preparing for our leisure activities. We spend time preparing our dinners.
- 5:52We spend time preparing ourselves for events and for holidays and for all these
- 5:59things we prepare for. but many of us never prepare to leave this world.
- 6:05Some of us prepare to take care of the things about leaving this world.
- 6:09I no doubt I'm speaking to people who have already got their funeral arrangements
- 6:13planned, who've already got all of that taken care of so that they wouldn't
- 6:17have to leave that burden to their family.
- 6:19Well, that's great, but there's a bigger burden you need to take care of,
- 6:23and that's the sin burden that is everyone's.
- 6:27In Romans 3.23, it says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of
- 6:31god are you prepared to leave this world let me tell you the preparation that
- 6:37jesus christ made in luke chapter 19 and verse 10 it said he came to seek and
- 6:43to save those which were lost.
- 6:46And he realized that there was a sin debt that you and I couldn't pay.
- 6:51And that God required a sin debt to be paid.
- 6:56And when God, in his infinite wisdom and in his amazing love,
- 7:02looked down upon the earth,
- 7:04he realized that the creation he had made in his image was bound and doomed
- 7:11for eternal hell because they had rejected the plan that he had for them.
- 7:16The knowledge of good and evil, they now had, and something had to take away their sins.
- 7:23And there wasn't anything that could do that.
- 7:27But Jesus Christ, his only son, was the only payment acceptable and able to
- 7:37be done for the payment of sin.
- 7:41Jesus Christ was the only way that your sin and my sin could be paid.
- 7:48And it required him to shed his sinless, spotless blood.
- 7:53That you and I might receive cleansing. That we might be made fit.
- 7:59And have his righteousness imputed in us. That we might be able to be received by God.
- 8:07And to claim that place prepared for us.
- 8:11And so Jesus prepared the way because he was the way in John chapter 14 and
- 8:16verse 6. And he walked the way of Golgotha.
- 8:19And just so that you know how much his love is for you, just so that you understand
- 8:25the breadth and depth of his love for you, he explains it clearly in Romans 8.
- 8:31And nothing can separate you from the love of God. But he demonstrated it on his walk to Calvary.
- 8:38And he stood in the garden of gethsemane and sweat was on him as drops of blood,
- 8:47and he spoke to god the father and he said if there be any other way let this
- 8:54cup pass from me my friend he wasn't shirking his duty.
- 9:01He was preparing the way, and he knew what it was going to cost him.
- 9:08He didn't have to read it in God's holy word.
- 9:11He didn't have to be spoken to about it.
- 9:15For God the Father had said, this is my son in whom I am well pleased.
- 9:22This is the payment for sins.
- 9:25He realized that his son would die once for all, and after this would come the
- 9:30judgment as we die and those who have received him as savior would be able to
- 9:35be received by Jesus into the kingdom of God.
- 9:38And those who have rejected him, though he's pleaded with them,
- 9:43though he has spoken to them, would never see heaven as their home.
- 9:48But I need you to listen.
- 9:50You will not escape eternity.
- 9:54Everyone will live for eternity. There is eternal life in Jesus Christ.
- 10:00That is a home not made with hands eternal into heaven.
- 10:03The streets are of gold. The water is of crystal clear. The gates are of jasper.
- 10:09The sun never sets and there is praising and worshiping of God.
- 10:13We are known as we were known.
- 10:16Our loved ones who received him as Savior has been received into heaven.
- 10:20They are praising and worshiping in God. There's no tears in heaven.
- 10:24And the world that we now know can't even comprehend even the slightest amount
- 10:31of the joy unspeakable and full
- 10:33of glory that the saints of God are experiencing now who are in heaven.
- 10:39Because to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
- 10:42He said, what manner of love hath the Father bestowed upon us that we be called the sons of God?
- 10:49My friend, if your loved one knew Jesus Christ.
- 10:52They're not in the grave. There's a popular song they'll sing, Dust Will Sing.
- 10:57And one day, the dead in Christ shall rise. But I want you to know something.
- 11:03They're not waiting to that day to praise Jesus.
- 11:05They're not waiting to that day to walk in the streets of gold.
- 11:09I believe with every fiber of my body that my Father sits on the river of life,
- 11:13and He is praising God, and He's enjoying all of the glories of heaven.
- 11:18And I believe from the very top of my head to the very bottom of my toes and
- 11:23the depth of my heart that my mother is kicking up gold dust on the streets
- 11:26of gold and I believe that she's enjoying the joys of heaven for eternity,
- 11:33but with just as much conviction and just as much assurity,
- 11:38because the same word of God that teaches me that teaches me this that those
- 11:44who escape into eternity without knowing jesus christ as savior are in hell
- 11:52and just as the rich man lifted up his eyes in torment.
- 11:58That's where they are. And heaven is a real place.
- 12:02But Jesus said, I go to prepare a place for you. And let me tell you,
- 12:06hell was never part of it.
- 12:08You were never intended to go to hell and hell was never intended for you to be there.
- 12:13For you see, hell was intended for the devil and his angels.
- 12:18If you would, please turn to the book of Revelation chapter 20.
- 12:23John saw heaven. but the scriptures plainly reveal what lies ahead for those
- 12:33who don't know jesus as savior,
- 12:36and a devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone
- 12:40beginning in verse 10 where the beast and the prophet are and shall be tormented
- 12:46day and night forever and ever and i saw a great white throne and him that sat
- 12:52on it whose face the earth and the heaven fled away,
- 12:56and there was found no place for them.
- 12:59And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God, and the books were opened.
- 13:06I want to bring to your attention, you may not claim him as God now, but one day you will.
- 13:16And it is my prayer and the prayer of this ministry and the prayer of many people
- 13:20in your life, no doubt, that you will accept him as Savior right now,
- 13:24that you could receive the place he has gone to prepare for you before it's eternally too late.
- 13:31Because you will recognize him as God. and every
- 13:34knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that jesus
- 13:38christ is lord and you
- 13:41won't be any different and as the scripture said the books were open and another
- 13:46book was open which is the book of life and the dead were judged out of those
- 13:51things which were in it and death and hell delivered up the dead which were
- 13:55in them and they were judged every man according to the works.
- 13:59And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire
- 14:02this is the second death and whosoever was
- 14:05not found written in the book of life was cast into the
- 14:08lake of fire my friend if you're a child of the most high god you'll only see
- 14:13death once if you're still here and you're remaining when jesus christ comes
- 14:17you'll escape death completely and you'll have life eternal but my friend it
- 14:21doesn't end in the grave if you're a believer for there's a home not made with
- 14:24hands prepared by you. He said, I go away.
- 14:27Go back to John chapter 14. He says, let not your heart be troubled.
- 14:31You believe in God, believe also in me. In my father's house are many mansions.
- 14:36If it were not so, I would have told you.
- 14:38I go to prepare a place for you.
- 14:41And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself.
- 14:46That where I am there, you may be also. I'll receive you unto myself he's waiting
- 14:51for you to just answer his call in revelations chapter 20 if you just scoot
- 14:57on down a little bit more he says behold i stand at the door and knock.
- 15:03Oh, he's calling you because he's prepared a place for you. And that place isn't hell.
- 15:10But you can choose hell because we're told plainly, choose you this day whom you will serve.
- 15:19Joshua said, ask for me at my house, we'll serve the Lord.
- 15:22The Philippian jailer said to Paul and Silas, what must I do to be saved?
- 15:29They said, Believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and I shall be saved.
- 15:36My friends, the Philippian jailer saw a difference in Paul and Silas.
- 15:42My friends, Nicodemus came to Jesus by night in John chapter 3,
- 15:49confused by his intelligence, deceived by the world.
- 15:55And jesus said to nicodemus marvel
- 15:59not that i say unto thee must
- 16:02be born again paul a
- 16:07great man of god in his later years started
- 16:10out a persecutor of the church and one
- 16:13day was walking down the road and jesus christ
- 16:16showed up in front of him and it blinded him
- 16:19because he saw who he was and Paul
- 16:23came to Jesus one day
- 16:25on a dusty trail to a old
- 16:29well Jacob's well there was a woman who came to Jesus and she wasn't coming
- 16:37to meet him maybe you turned on the radio and you weren't planning on making
- 16:41the best decision of your life maybe you weren't planning on talking about whether
- 16:45you were prepared to leave eternity or not.
- 16:48I tell you, I had a close family member recently die in his sleep.
- 16:52He wasn't thinking about dying when he went to bed, but he had thought about
- 16:57his preparations, and he woke up on heaven's shore.
- 17:02You, my friend, may not be thinking about anything like that.
- 17:06Neither was the woman at the well.
- 17:08As she came to the well with an empty vessel, she left field as she saw who
- 17:13Jesus was, and he gave her life eternal.
- 17:16And he said, within me is a life of everlasting life, springing well within my soul.
- 17:22And it's yours for the asking.
- 17:25I went to church like every other time before. Now I was just a little girl.
- 17:32I expected to see my daddy sing. I expected to hear the man of God preach.
- 17:37I didn't expect to see Jesus come down and sit down beside of me and tell me
- 17:41that I needed to receive him, that he could receive me unto himself.
- 17:46I was just a little girl. But you know what?
- 17:50I received him. And he received me. And he's never left me.
- 17:56He's never forsaken me. And he's never given up on me.
- 18:00And that same God that entered my heart at age five still walks with me today,
- 18:07and talks with me all along life's way.
- 18:10You see, it doesn't matter how old you are. It doesn't matter how young you
- 18:14are. It doesn't matter what you've done.
- 18:17John the Baptist was set apart to serve God, but he had to be humbled and he
- 18:22had to receive him a savor just like I did, just like the woman at the well,
- 18:27just like you have to, my friend.
- 18:30You see, it's a personal relationship. And he says, choose you this day who you're going to serve.
- 18:36And he said, I go to prepare a way that I might receive you.
- 18:41Oh, do you know what it's going to be like?
- 18:45He receives you you see i know a
- 18:48little bit about what it'll be like because i know
- 18:51what it's like when he receives me as i
- 18:53come to him in prayer when he receives me
- 18:57as i come to him and cast my
- 18:59care upon him as he receives me
- 19:02when i boldly tell him who i am and what i
- 19:05need when we walk and we talk and
- 19:08we just pray and we just fellowship together
- 19:11and we sup together and we just hang out
- 19:14but I don't know what it's
- 19:18going to be like when I step on the
- 19:20other side and his arms are open wide
- 19:23and he takes me and introduces me
- 19:26to God but I do know that
- 19:30he's prepared a place and it's for me and
- 19:35buddy I know he's prepared a place for you because in
- 19:38John chapter 3 and verse 16 he says for god so loved
- 19:41the world and hello folks that's us that
- 19:44whosoever and that's you we believe in
- 19:47him should not perish but have everlasting life for god sent not his son into
- 19:52the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved
- 19:57you see my friend he that believeth on him is not condemned but he that believeth
- 20:01not is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
- 20:07But God commended his love toward us, and that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
- 20:13And he said that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
- 20:18He says that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
- 20:22and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
- 20:28For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made into salvation.
- 20:34He said, I go to prepare a place for you.
- 20:40Are you prepared to receive that place he has prepared for you?
- 20:49Our kind and most gracious to Heavenly Father, Lord, we just thank you for this
- 20:53opportunity to come before you.
- 20:56And Lord, we just pray that you would touch the hearts of each person who's
- 20:59listened to this lesson.
- 21:01And Lord, if there would be a person that would be out there,
- 21:04we pray that you would just ask them to look in their hearts,
- 21:08Lord, and they can receive you as Savior with this simple prayer.
- 21:12Lord, I believe. I know who you are.
- 21:17I know that you love me and I know that I'm a sinner and I cannot make it on my own.
- 21:23I know that my works are as filthy rags and that my righteousness will fail me.
- 21:28But Lord, I ask that you would just come into my heart and that your sinless,
- 21:33spotless blood that beheld death in the grave, the
- 21:37sinless spotless blood that washes away all sin
- 21:40lord i claim you as my savior come
- 21:44into my heart and wash me white as snow lord
- 21:48live with me and send within my heart the holy spirit that part of you that
- 21:53teaches me and comforts me and holds me and guides me that i might be the christian
- 22:00you would have me to be and lord help me to live as you would have me to live But Lord,
- 22:06I come to you just as I am,
- 22:10asking you, the holy lamb of God,
- 22:13to save me from my sins.
- 22:15And I thank you, Lord, because I know you have.
- 22:19I love you and I praise you in Jesus' name and amen.
- 22:24If you have prayed that prayer and you have lifted your heart to God and you
- 22:30have made him your savior, I pray that you would contact us that we might be
- 22:34able to help you get some materials to grow in grace and knowledge of God.
- 22:38I ask that you get in your local Bible-believing church that you may grow in
- 22:42his will and in his grace.
- 22:43But to God be the glory for the great things.
