Alan Dershowitz Lawyers Allegedly Advised Him Against Appearing In Front Of Congress (7/24/26) · The Epstein Chronicles

• 0:00
Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. A couple of days ago, we were talking
• 0:08
Speaker 1: about Alan Dershowitz and his refusal to appear before Congress. Well,
• 0:14
Speaker 1: today we're going to talk a little bit more about
• 0:17
Speaker 1: that refusal and why. According to this Harvard Crimson article,
• 0:23
Speaker 1: his lawyers told him he couldn't appear and answer questions.
• 0:27
Speaker 1: And I find that to be laughable at best, to
• 0:30
Speaker 1: tell you the truth, considering how much shit Alan Dershowitz
• 0:33
Speaker 1: has talked over the years. Come set the record straight, homie,
• 0:38
Speaker 1: Go put yourself under oath. Let's see what's what? You
• 0:41
Speaker 1: sure had a lot to say, Well, let's see it.
• 0:44
Speaker 1: And of course, in typical Alan Dershowitz fashion, he did
• 0:47
Speaker 1: all that yappen and now he's turned and tell So
• 0:52
Speaker 1: today we have an article from the Harvard Crimson talking
• 0:55
Speaker 1: about this topic and the headline Dershowitz told by attorneys
• 0:59
Speaker 1: he can not legally testify on Epstein ties. I thought
• 1:03
Speaker 1: that Alan Dershowitz was the greatest attorney in the history
• 1:06
Speaker 1: of great attorneys. Isn't that what he tells anyone who's listening.
• 1:09
Speaker 1: But he didn't know that he had no idea. Sure,
• 1:12
Speaker 1: I'm buying that. This article was authored by Hugo Kyasin
• 1:16
Speaker 1: and Elise A. Spenner. Harvard law professor Alan M. Dershowitz
• 1:22
Speaker 1: was told by his attorneys that he cannot legally testify
• 1:25
Speaker 1: before the House Oversight Committee on Monday, he said. Dershowitz
• 1:29
Speaker 1: was scheduled to sit for an in person transcribed interview
• 1:32
Speaker 1: on his ties to the convicted sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein
• 1:36
Speaker 1: as part of a month's long investigation into Epstein and
• 1:39
Speaker 1: his associates. Dershowitz, a high profile defense attorney, helped negotiate
• 1:44
Speaker 1: Epstein's controversial two thousand and eight plea deal, and look,
• 1:48
Speaker 1: for me, I think that's the most critical part of this.
• 1:52
Speaker 1: Now we know the allegations that have been made against
• 1:55
Speaker 1: Alan Dershowitz by Virginia. However, we also know that they
• 1:59
Speaker 1: came to a settlement. So I think we should be
• 2:03
Speaker 1: focusing on Alan Dershowitz's role in that two thousand and
• 2:07
Speaker 1: eight NPA, And in my opinion, I think that NPA
• 2:12
Speaker 1: is illegal. I think that there was a lot of
• 2:17
Speaker 1: backroom wrangling. I think that there was a lot of
• 2:19
Speaker 1: reaching out to justice, and I think that because of
• 2:23
Speaker 1: who Alan Dershowitz is, who Ken Starr is, and who
• 2:26
Speaker 1: the other lawyers were. They had those relationships already baked
• 2:29
Speaker 1: in with Mukeesy and Felipe, so of course they just
• 2:33
Speaker 1: went over Acosta's head and got things done with Main Justice.
• 2:39
Speaker 1: And I think the contemporaneous emails and the documentation proves that.
• 2:46
Speaker 1: But his attorney has now reversed course. A spokesperson for
• 2:49
Speaker 1: the House Oversight Committee confirmed Friday, indicating to the committee
• 2:53
Speaker 1: that Dershowitz would not be present for the interview. The
• 2:56
Speaker 1: spokesperson said the committee had contacted dershowitz attorney to reschedule
• 3:00
Speaker 1: the testimony. The move came as an about face for Dershowitz,
• 3:05
Speaker 1: who has for months publicly expressed interest in testifying before
• 3:09
Speaker 1: the House. Dershowitz even appealed directly to James Comer, who
• 3:13
Speaker 1: chairs the Oversight Committee. Dershowitz said he remained eager to testify,
• 3:19
Speaker 1: so eager that his lawyer has jumped in. Huh, well,
• 3:22
Speaker 1: look on the advice of my lawyers. It's always some bullshit, right.
• 3:26
Speaker 1: Nobody ever just wants to stand up and deal with
• 3:29
Speaker 1: the consequences of their actions. Nobody wants to answer the
• 3:31
Speaker 1: bill It's one thing to talk like you're tough. It's
• 3:34
Speaker 1: a whole less other thing to hop into the octagon.
• 3:39
Speaker 1: Comer formally requested Dershowitz sit for an interview last month
• 3:43
Speaker 1: after a meeting with several Epstein's survivors and testimony from
• 3:46
Speaker 1: Epstein's longtime assistant Leslie Groff. At the time, Dershowitz said
• 3:51
Speaker 1: he would offer a documentation to the committee showing that
• 3:54
Speaker 1: individuals with ties to Epstein should be evaluated case by case.
• 3:59
Speaker 1: He said that the full story of Epstein's connections was
• 4:01
Speaker 1: more nuanced and complex then it's been presented. Oh yeah,
• 4:05
Speaker 1: Alan Dershowitz, comes set the record straight, because you're a
• 4:08
Speaker 1: reliable narrator. You have nothing to hide. You weren't involved
• 4:12
Speaker 1: with Jeffrey Epstein as far as the legal team. And furthermore,
• 4:17
Speaker 1: you've already admitted you got a massage, right and I
• 4:20
Speaker 1: know you kept your underwear on mister Tidy Whitey himself.
• 4:24
Speaker 1: But this whole entire false narrative that Dershowitz has been
• 4:27
Speaker 1: running when it comes to Epstein is just unbelievably stupid,
• 4:33
Speaker 1: and he thinks that his I don't know, credibility, if
• 4:37
Speaker 1: you'll call it that is gonna get people to believe them. Look,
• 4:40
Speaker 1: the only people that are gonna believe him are the
• 4:42
Speaker 1: people that already want to believe him. That's it. Nobody
• 4:48
Speaker 1: that's nuanced, nobody that's looked into this, nobody that knows
• 4:51
Speaker 1: the real story, believes that Dershowitz doesn't know more than
• 4:56
Speaker 1: he's saying now. There are some entanglements, and there's some
• 5:00
Speaker 1: complications considering he was a lawyer, and there's privilege. But
• 5:03
Speaker 1: everything's privileged, every bit of information. Well maybe, Unfortunately we
• 5:10
Speaker 1: won't know because his balls haven't dropped yet and he's
• 5:14
Speaker 1: scared to appear before Congress. It's unclear what legal obligations
• 5:20
Speaker 1: stand in the way of his testimony. Dershowitz attorneys did
• 5:23
Speaker 1: not immediately respond to a request for comment. That's a
• 5:26
Speaker 1: big tell for me, And it looks like they're running scared. Now.
• 5:31
  Speaker 1: Is that what's really happening? I don't know. We haven't
• 5:33
Speaker 1: heard from Dershowitz or his team, but it's not looking good.
• 5:37
Speaker 1: The optics of it are pretty bad. You're supposed to
• 5:42
Speaker 1: appear before Congress on Monday, and on Friday you're calling
• 5:45
Speaker 1: to say, ah, you know what, maybe instead of appearing
• 5:49
Speaker 1: before Congress, I'll head back out to Martha's vineyard and
• 5:52
Speaker 1: burrate some perogi vendors instead. Seems to be more your speed,
• 5:56
Speaker 1: mister Dershowitz. The the Oversight Committee has her testimony from
• 6:02
Speaker 1: several high profile figures with ties to Epstein since launching
• 6:05
Speaker 1: its investigation last summer, including Microsoft co founder Bill Gates
• 6:10
Speaker 1: and former US President Bill Clinton. And that all worked
• 6:13
Speaker 1: out well, huh. We got a lot of information from them,
• 6:15
Speaker 1: said nobody ever, and the morons on the GOP side
• 6:19
Speaker 1: of the aisle, they fumbled the ball big time when
• 6:22
Speaker 1: it comes to the Clinton interrogation. Nobody asked the right
• 6:25
Speaker 1: questions and in fact made the Clintons look better than
• 6:28
Speaker 1: even when they walked in. Now, those of us who
• 6:31
Speaker 1: know the story, well, we know that that's not the case,
• 6:33
Speaker 1: and that the Clintons lie through their teeth. The problem
• 6:37
Speaker 1: is that the Committee and Congress has no teeth, so
• 6:42
Speaker 1: they can't hold people accountable, and we've seen it time
• 6:45
Speaker 1: and time again. Dershowitz is not the only Harvard affiliate
• 6:51
Speaker 1: the Committee has expressed interest in speaking with Representative Robert Garcia,
• 6:55
Speaker 1: the ranking Democrat, said he hoped to speak with former
• 6:58
Speaker 1: university president Lauren H. Summers because of his decades long
• 7:02
Speaker 1: friendship with Epstein. Mister Summers is someone that we as
• 7:07
Speaker 1: a committee have not had the chance to speak with.
• 7:10
Speaker 1: That would be or that's somebody we would like to
• 7:12
Speaker 1: speak with, Garcia said in June. It seems that his
• 7:16
Speaker 1: name continues to come up. Summers came up in Clinton's
• 7:19
Speaker 1: February testimony, in which the former president said he was
• 7:23
Speaker 1: introduced to Epstein by the former Treasury secretary after they
• 7:27
Speaker 1: had left office and described the convicted child predator as
• 7:31
Speaker 1: an information hungry person. Oh well, that explains at all,
• 7:35
Speaker 1: mister information hungry hungry hippo over here. So I guess
• 7:38
Speaker 1: we'll just hang out with them, you know, in our
• 7:40
Speaker 1: pursuit of knowledge. I don't think we detest these people enough,
• 7:46
Speaker 1: and that's because they're just a testable Everything about Alan
• 7:50
Speaker 1: Dershowitz and his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein is questionable. Now,
• 7:56
Speaker 1: I'm not going to sit here and tell you that
• 7:57
Speaker 1: we have evidence of him doing anything else with Epstein.
• 8:01
Speaker 1: There's been allegations, but those allegations have been walked back.
• 8:05
Speaker 1: So we have to be mindful of the record. But
• 8:08
Speaker 1: does that exonerate Alan Dershowitz from all of the other
• 8:12
Speaker 1: allegations of ties to Jeffrey Epstein. I don't think it
• 8:15
Speaker 1: does now. I don't know if there's anything that is criminal, right,
• 8:20
Speaker 1: but I think reputationally and I think morally, Alan Dershowitz
• 8:25
Speaker 1: was certainly in the wrong, and I think he knows that,
• 8:30
Speaker 1: and he just doesn't care. He's one of those guys
• 8:33
Speaker 1: that is so smug and he thinks he's smarter than
• 8:37
Speaker 1: everybody else around him. So he's gonna just, you know,
• 8:40
Speaker 1: continue on this path of saying whatever the fuck he
• 8:44
Speaker 1: wants to say, when a lot of it just doesn't
• 8:48
Speaker 1: have any basis in truth. Who asked Alan Dershowitz to
• 8:52
Speaker 1: run around talking about Epstein and the intelligence world? Did
• 8:55
Speaker 1: somebody ask him to be the spokesperson to go against
• 8:59
Speaker 1: that messaging? Nobody asked him. He just inserts himself into
• 9:02
Speaker 1: the conversation all the time, and then he gets mad
• 9:05
Speaker 1: when people criticize him. Well, here's an idea, mister, I
• 9:10
Speaker 1: kept my underpants on. Man up, step up to the
• 9:12
Speaker 1: plate and do what you said you were going to do.
• 9:15
Speaker 1: You're gonna give this testimony, You're gonna blow the doors
• 9:17
Speaker 1: off of it. You're gonna set everything right. Meanwhile, you
• 9:22
Speaker 1: never showed up, You canceled, you backed out, and like
• 9:25
Speaker 1: the typical smarmy bastard you are, you're gonna blame the process.
• 9:30
Speaker 1: You're gonna blame everybody else after you yourself stood on
• 9:34
Speaker 1: those mountaintops and screamed like a lunatic about how you
• 9:38
Speaker 1: want to set the record straight and about how everybody
• 9:40
Speaker 1: else is a liar. While, mister Dershowitz, you had your chance,
• 9:44
Speaker 1: you had your platform. What happened? Did your lawyers take
• 9:47
Speaker 1: a look at what was going on and tell you
• 9:49
Speaker 1: that you had exposure? Did they tell you that it's
• 9:52
Speaker 1: probably not a good idea to go and run your
• 9:55
Speaker 1: yap in front of Congress? Why'd you back out? Mister Dershowitz?
• 9:59
Speaker 1: What happen? Because up until now there was a whole
• 10:05
Speaker 1: lot of talk, I mean Connor McGregor levels of talk,
• 10:09
Speaker 1: and then on the weight of the cage, Dershowitz blows
• 10:12
Speaker 1: out his knee. Well, isn't that convenient? So look, I
• 10:16
Speaker 1: hope that Congress stops messing around with Dershowitz and hits
• 10:19
Speaker 1: him with that subpoena, because if anybody ever deserved one,
• 10:23
Speaker 1: it's Alan I kept my underpants on Dershowitz. All the
• 10:27
Speaker 1: information that goes with this episode can be found in
• 10:31
  Speaker 1: the description box.
