- 0:24It is lunchtime.
- 0:52as train olive likes to say um what
- 0:55is going on um got a lot to
- 0:58talk about today i'm glad i was able
- 1:01to get through some appointments this
- 1:02morning and still get on the air with
- 1:03you all it's good to see cory and
- 1:05joseph and kenneth and vicky frida mike
- 1:11what's going on everybody
- 1:14Big news over the last,
- 1:16it's a forty eight hours or so.
- 1:18My channel now has a sponsor for the
- 1:21first time in a very long time.
- 1:24I've been talking with Third Z for a
- 1:26couple months now,
- 1:27trying out their product.
- 1:29As many of you know,
- 1:31I have been dealing with sinus issues for
- 1:33some time now, years in fact,
- 1:36and it has really affected my sleep.
- 1:39And so I tried Third Z and it
- 1:44has helped so much.
- 1:45I cannot express to you enough.
- 1:47how much it's helped.
- 1:48I used to sleep in two hours increments,
- 1:50like every night, two hours,
- 1:53wake up for a little bit,
- 1:54go back to sleep for two hours,
- 1:56go back to sleep for two hours,
- 1:58started using third Z.
- 1:59And now I'm sleeping like six hours at
- 2:01a time, uh,
- 2:04get up to pee and then go back
- 2:06to bed and get another couple hours.
- 2:08So it's really, really, um, uh,
- 2:12really helped me a ton.
- 2:14And I know last night we announced this
- 2:15and we had some trouble with, uh,
- 2:20with the codes, but they all work now.
- 2:22It was actually my fault on my end.
- 2:24I did not accept something.
- 2:26So I've got that figured out last night.
- 2:28It's all worked.
- 2:29People are actually using the code.
- 2:31I can already see the numbers.
- 2:33So that is really, really exciting.
- 2:36So super excited tonight.
- 2:38I'm going to try the new flavored salted
- 2:41caramel chocolate.
- 2:42You can get fifteen percent off with code
- 2:45Jazzy.
- 2:47That is J-A-Z-Z-Y at thirdzy.com.
- 2:51Or to go directly to my page,
- 2:53you can go to thirdzy.com backslash Jazzy.
- 2:58ThirdZ.com backslash Jazzy takes you to my
- 3:01page.
- 3:02You can do the order there.
- 3:03That gets you fifteen percent off or just
- 3:05type in the promo code Jazzy and that
- 3:08will get you the fifteen percent off as
- 3:10well.
- 3:11Also coming up on Black Friday,
- 3:13there's going to be a really great deal.
- 3:15I can't disclose that at this moment,
- 3:17but hopefully next week we'll disclose
- 3:19what that is and it gets a pretty
- 3:21good incentive as well what the code will
- 3:25get you then.
- 3:26So
- 3:27Thank you to Thursday for giving me a
- 3:28good night's sleep.
- 3:29Uh,
- 3:30the last thing I'm going to say about
- 3:31it is, uh,
- 3:33melatonin has always not worked well for
- 3:35me and there's no melatonin in this.
- 3:38It is,
- 3:39it is magnesium and some other stuff.
- 3:41It is awesome.
- 3:43And, uh, but anyway, as Vicki said, uh,
- 3:49Jazzy will get you Jazzy from a good
- 3:51night's sleep.
- 3:52It will.
- 3:53Yeah.
- 3:53Cause we all want to be Jazzy during
- 3:55the day, right?
- 3:56We all want to go through life a
- 3:59little jazzy.
- 4:01Um, so yeah.
- 4:03Awesome.
- 4:05So with that,
- 4:07let's get to some news today.
- 4:10I'm going to talk personally about
- 4:11something for me,
- 4:13and that is my Chicago Bears are in
- 4:15first place by themselves in the NFC
- 4:17North.
- 4:18I cannot believe it.
- 4:20After years and years of suffering as the
- 4:24lovable loser Bears forever with Detroit's
- 4:29loss last night to the Eagles,
- 4:31the Bears are in first place all by
- 4:34their lonesome.
- 4:35in the NFC North.
- 4:37So I could not be happier this morning.
- 4:40I know people are saying they're paper
- 4:42champions,
- 4:43that they haven't played anybody yet.
- 4:45But when you've been a long-suffering fan
- 4:47like I have,
- 4:49a win is a win is a win.
- 4:51And I'll take them however they come,
- 4:54and I'll enjoy them when we get them.
- 4:57And I am just enjoying the process at
- 5:00this point.
- 5:01So...
- 5:02Super stoked for my Chicago Bears.
- 5:06Could not be happier this morning.
- 5:09And next week,
- 5:11they play the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 5:13The Pittsburgh Steelers are my wife's
- 5:14favorite team.
- 5:15So it could be a difficult Sunday in
- 5:17the house.
- 5:18Hopefully I come out victorious and don't
- 5:21have to deal with the smack talking of
- 5:23my own wife.
- 5:27But we'll see.
- 5:28It's going to be a rough week.
- 5:30We will see.
- 5:34Corey Leonard points out that the Saints
- 5:36are in sole possession of last place in
- 5:38the NFC South.
- 5:40Yeah, yeah,
- 5:41it's been a rough year down there, buddy.
- 5:43Rough, rough year.
- 5:48Ha ha ha, like Union Kane,
- 5:50a paper champion.
- 5:51There it is, man.
- 5:53But hey, champion nonetheless.
- 5:58All they have to do,
- 5:59if they win three more games,
- 6:01three out of seven,
- 6:02three out of seven games to go if
- 6:05they win those just three they're in the
- 6:07playoffs so uh I mean we're halfway
- 6:17through right they must have played at
- 6:19least one good team the Bears are legit
- 6:21great uh I
- 6:24The NFL is a crazy place, Jody,
- 6:26and so it's really hard to say that,
- 6:28but their schedule is much harder on this
- 6:29back half.
- 6:30But again,
- 6:31if they can just go three and four
- 6:34the rest of the way,
- 6:35that's a ten-win season, and they wake up.
- 6:38They make it.
- 6:41Eric Mackey, weak division overall,
- 6:42really.
- 6:43Green Bay overrated and Detroit up and
- 6:44down, up for grabs.
- 6:46I wouldn't call it a weak division.
- 6:48It's just the way the NFL is designed.
- 6:51It's designed for parity.
- 6:53And so it's really rare to get that
- 6:56team that becomes a dynasty.
- 6:58The Chiefs are an anomaly.
- 7:01And if the season ends today,
- 7:03the Chiefs would not be in the playoffs.
- 7:05That's how crazy the season has been.
- 7:09So it's really the way they have designed
- 7:11it.
- 7:13Larry young confirms the code works.
- 7:15It does.
- 7:17Um, yeah, we tested it out last night.
- 7:19Um,
- 7:20the people at third Z actually were still
- 7:22awake after the show last night and
- 7:24unavailable and we got through everything
- 7:26last night.
- 7:27So shout out to them.
- 7:30Um,
- 7:32If anyone wants to hire Mickey Loomis as
- 7:34a GM for their team,
- 7:34I think I can get you a pretty
- 7:36good deal.
- 7:37Listen, nobody wants Mickey Loomis, Corey.
- 7:39Nobody.
- 7:43So anyway, yeah, super psyched about that.
- 7:47Next thing we're going to talk about real
- 7:48quickly is the worst kept secret in
- 7:53CrossFit is that...
- 7:59on her story today tia claire toomey you
- 8:02can see this is willow and she is
- 8:05so happy because if you look at the
- 8:07shirt and i'll try to blow that up
- 8:10it says big sister so she has formally
- 8:14announced that she is pregnant and her she
- 8:21is so happy that she's going to be
- 8:23a big big sister so
- 8:28There it is.
- 8:29The news we've been waiting for.
- 8:31The news none of us knew was there,
- 8:35but we really did.
- 8:38She is pregnant,
- 8:41and so apparently she will probably not
- 8:47compete in the
- 8:52Yes, Shanna, finally.
- 8:54Finally, we get definitive word.
- 8:56I don't know why.
- 8:57I don't know why she's waited so long.
- 9:00She does this all the time,
- 9:01and I don't understand what the deal is.
- 9:05I get she maybe wanted to wait to
- 9:07twelve weeks,
- 9:08but we have to be way past twelve
- 9:09weeks at this point.
- 9:11Way past.
- 9:16Vicky, I am so shocked.
- 9:19Joseph Ramirez, this is my shocked face.
- 9:21Jody, okay, case closed.
- 9:23Let's move on.
- 9:24Good grief.
- 9:28Eric Mackey says,
- 9:32Tia's CrossFit career is over.
- 9:35Pencil, pen, or Sharpie?
- 9:38That's a good one, Eric.
- 9:39I like it.
- 9:40I like it.
- 9:41Let's put it out there.
- 9:42What is, is Tia's CrossFit career over?
- 9:45Would you write that in pencil, pen,
- 9:48or Sharpie?
- 9:52Kenneth DeLapp says pencil.
- 9:57Train all of pencil.
- 10:00Terry pencil.
- 10:02Joseph Vermeer's pencil.
- 10:06Vicky pencil.
- 10:11Jody making up her own game and saying
- 10:12pause not over.
- 10:15Corey Leonard pencil.
- 10:17Mike, number two pencil for sure.
- 10:20Pencil.
- 10:21So none of you believe that she is
- 10:24done.
- 10:26None of you believe she is done.
- 10:29That is wild.
- 10:30But I got to go with you guys.
- 10:32I've got to say pencil.
- 10:34I think her competitive nature,
- 10:36she's going to look at this as another
- 10:38challenge.
- 10:39It's another thing to overcome.
- 10:42Can she have a second child come back
- 10:45and win a ninth title?
- 10:50train olive she might just decide to
- 10:52compete pregnant who knows uh joseph
- 10:56ramirez i think she'll go for ten uh
- 11:00i think the sound of ten time champ
- 11:02is too enticing to her and twice as
- 11:05a comeback after giving birth so yeah um
- 11:15I think she looks for things to challenge
- 11:17her.
- 11:19And coming back from a second pregnancy to
- 11:24win the CrossFit Games would be that thing
- 11:29that gets her motivated.
- 11:34And she has said that if she goes
- 11:36for nine, she's going for ten.
- 11:39I've seen that somewhere in an interview.
- 11:41I think it was with like an Australian
- 11:43TV show.
- 11:45They asked her about what she would go
- 11:47for, and she said on that show,
- 11:52if she comes back for nine,
- 11:53she's coming back for ten.
- 11:55She's not stopping at nine.
- 11:59Corey says, can't leave it at nine.
- 12:01If she comes back and wins,
- 12:02ten is the number.
- 12:04I agree.
- 12:05Those are her own words.
- 12:09Train all of ten-time champ, two-time mom,
- 12:12definitely going for that.
- 12:18Corey said, yeah, it was on Aussie TV.
- 12:20I saw that interview.
- 12:22And so Shanna says she's probably already
- 12:33had the baby or is having it soon
- 12:35and is competing in the open.
- 12:38That would be wild.
- 12:46Uh, Joseph Ramirez.
- 12:47I already have my tend for Tia shirt
- 12:49made.
- 12:50She better come back.
- 12:55Uh, let's go.
- 12:56Laura, Alex, Emma, Lucy, Olivia, Gabby.
- 12:59I want to see them all back for
- 13:01real competition.
- 13:03That would be wild.
- 13:04I'd like to see them all back with
- 13:06Tia.
- 13:08It would be nice to see if some,
- 13:10somebody or someone has made that, um,
- 13:15that charge back to,
- 13:19to close the gap between themselves and
- 13:22Tia.
- 13:26Kenneth to lap says Nistler did it.
- 13:29Let's be honest,
- 13:30doing it as a master's athlete would not
- 13:32be as hard as doing it as an
- 13:34elite athlete.
- 13:37Um,
- 13:37what Andrea did at the age group games,
- 13:39I was there in Alabama.
- 13:41She was pretty dominant in that division.
- 13:44Um,
- 13:45But it is just thirty five to thirty
- 13:47nine.
- 13:48It's a small subset of the population.
- 13:51So.
- 13:52Yeah, I think it is apples to oranges.
- 14:02Tia did it at Rogue.
- 14:03I think that's a better apples to apples
- 14:05comparison.
- 14:07She gave birth that year.
- 14:08Five months later,
- 14:09she went and took second place at Rogue.
- 14:12I think that is very much an apples
- 14:14to apples comparison.
- 14:16It is not so much age group to
- 14:19elite.
- 14:20And I love my age group athletes,
- 14:22but the reality is it's a different
- 14:24league.
- 14:31Vicky,
- 14:31if there's a lot of pregnancy workout
- 14:33footage and it's being aggressive,
- 14:35then there won't be any question of a
- 14:36comeback plan.
- 14:38Yeah, but she has not put out anything.
- 14:40There's been no footage of what she's been
- 14:42doing,
- 14:43mostly probably because she's probably
- 14:50trying to keep the pregnancy itself a
- 14:51secret.
- 14:52But maybe now that she's made it public,
- 14:56we'll see more.
- 14:57But yeah.
- 15:01And Joseph, it's Monday, dude.
- 15:04Why you got to push the buttons?
- 15:06Laurel won't compete with Tia.
- 15:08That is such a crock, dude.
- 15:11You can't be as good as Laura is
- 15:13and be afraid of somebody.
- 15:15She's not afraid of Tia.
- 15:17She's not afraid to compete against her.
- 15:20She has nothing against Tia.
- 15:22The reason she didn't compete at the Games
- 15:24was not because of Tia.
- 15:25It was because of CrossFit.
- 15:28Not because of Tia.
- 15:30She's not afraid of Tia.
- 15:32She is, in my opinion,
- 15:35arguably the second best female athlete to
- 15:39ever compete in CrossFit.
- 15:42Her and Annie are a big debate.
- 15:46But Laura has one hole.
- 15:49One hole that she has to overcome.
- 15:51The problem is Tia doesn't have those
- 15:53holes.
- 15:54And so that one hole always makes Laura
- 15:57lose.
- 15:58But Laura can go toe-to-toe with her on
- 16:00just about everything else in the sport.
- 16:03She is not afraid of Tia.
- 16:06Not afraid at all.
- 16:17um uh larry young i think laura is
- 16:25the happiest woman in the world in my
- 16:26opinion i think she wants a win over
- 16:31tia i think that just solidifies her as
- 16:35the one of the greatest athletes to ever
- 16:37do it if she gets a second title
- 16:41and she beats Tia in the process,
- 16:43it elevates her easily to the second best
- 16:46woman ever.
- 16:49Ever.
- 16:54You guys are crazy.
- 16:57Kenneth, Jodi, you're crazy.
- 17:00She is not afraid of anybody.
- 17:04You cannot be that good and be afraid
- 17:07of somebody.
- 17:08If you have that in your mental,
- 17:12in your mental makeup,
- 17:14you cannot be this successful.
- 17:17You could not be as successful as she
- 17:18is.
- 17:20She went toe-to-toe with Tia at Rogue on
- 17:24not just one occasion.
- 17:27They're the only two people to ever win
- 17:29Rogue.
- 17:38You guys are absolutely bananas if you
- 17:40think she's scared.
- 17:42Absolutely bananas.
- 17:44You do not understand the competitive
- 17:46mindset it takes to get to where she
- 17:48is.
- 17:49To be one of the five greatest athletes
- 17:52to ever set foot on a floor,
- 17:55you cannot be scared of anybody.
- 17:58You just would not make it.
- 17:59You would not make it.
- 18:07Larry Young,
- 18:07I think you want her to want to.
- 18:11She's scared.
- 18:12She is not scared.
- 18:14She just may not have the physical ability
- 18:16to beat Tia.
- 18:17Tia is,
- 18:18as we talked about with Justin Collar,
- 18:20a bulletproof athlete.
- 18:22She has no holes.
- 18:24She's hard to beat.
- 18:25It doesn't mean people are afraid of her.
- 18:30Jodi.
- 18:33She went through a grieving process.
- 18:37And maybe that grief is over.
- 18:40I don't understand why everybody is so
- 18:41hard on Laura.
- 18:43There have been a handful of athletes that
- 18:44sat out last year.
- 18:46Emma Lawson does not hear the stuff that
- 18:52Laura hears.
- 18:53She sat out last season too.
- 18:55Nobody goes at her like this.
- 18:57Nobody.
- 18:58Nobody.
- 19:12Tia is Laura's what's Rich doing like
- 19:14Kalipa.
- 19:14I agree, Eric.
- 19:16I agree.
- 19:21And he also has Laura as number two
- 19:22all time.
- 19:24Yeah,
- 19:25Laura is like Karl Malone or Charles
- 19:27Barkley.
- 19:27They just happened to play during the
- 19:29Jordan era.
- 19:30Laura just happened to play in the Tia
- 19:33era.
- 19:38I don't think people were even this hard
- 19:40on Mal O'Brien.
- 19:41They weren't.
- 19:51Joseph Ramirez, you're telling me you,
- 19:54you, okay.
- 19:56There's no,
- 19:57there's no talking to you on this subject.
- 20:10Where did, okay, Mike DeVito,
- 20:11where did Laura throw a public tantrum?
- 20:17Where did she throw a public tantrum?
- 20:20She went home from the games in twenty
- 20:22twenty four when a man died.
- 20:25And she was not the only one.
- 20:28There were lots of people that left that
- 20:30day.
- 20:32Where was the public tantrum?
- 20:33I didn't see a public tantrum.
- 20:36If anything,
- 20:38she holed up in Hungary and just didn't
- 20:41talk to people.
- 20:57I think the way she comes off on
- 20:58a personal level that rubs people the
- 21:00wrong way.
- 21:02I can get that.
- 21:03She, I believe in her culture,
- 21:07they're just more matter of fact about
- 21:08things.
- 21:18Vicky, that's not a tantrum.
- 21:21And I don't think she's competing for
- 21:23second.
- 21:24I think she believes if she goes up
- 21:26against Tia, she has a shot.
- 21:29But she's going to have to be her
- 21:30best,
- 21:32the best she can be on that day.
- 21:36She does not think she's shooting for
- 21:38second.
- 21:41If you go in with that mindset, just,
- 21:44oh my gosh.
- 21:48Listen,
- 21:48I was not the athlete that either of
- 21:50these people were.
- 21:51But when I was swimming,
- 21:52there were swimmers that were better than
- 21:54me.
- 21:55But I was up in that upper tier.
- 21:58Never once did I go into a race
- 21:59thinking I couldn't beat them.
- 22:02Never once.
- 22:03Did I beat them all the time?
- 22:04No.
- 22:05But I never went in thinking that they
- 22:07were going to beat me that day.
- 22:09I, in my heart of hearts,
- 22:11felt like if I put together the perfect
- 22:13race, I could win that day.
- 22:26i think i think you guys are crazy
- 22:28town banana pants as my friend corey likes
- 22:31to say that's just that's just insanity
- 22:39and that girl takes so much heat so
- 22:41much heat for every move she makes scott
- 22:50sometimes if everyone sees something you
- 22:52don't maybe you need to rethink
- 22:55I don't think it's everyone.
- 22:56I think it's there's a group of people
- 22:58like you all that think this way.
- 23:01I truly do not feel that this is
- 23:04a consensus across.
- 23:05I've talked to a lot of people,
- 23:07a lot of people who do not think
- 23:09the way you guys think.
- 23:19Now,
- 23:20Kenneth must be smoking something because
- 23:22I love Lydia Fish.
- 23:23She ain't winning the games in twenty
- 23:25twenty six.
- 23:31Train all of this with me, see,
- 23:32I'm not alone.
- 23:37Corey Leonard,
- 23:37if you line up and think you're going
- 23:38to lose before the event starts, congrats,
- 23:41you're right.
- 23:42No athlete in their right mind who is
- 23:43truly competitive has that mindset.
- 23:49Larry just poking the bear.
- 23:51Oh, yeah.
- 23:52On a Monday.
- 23:53On a Monday.
- 23:54Mondays are bad days to poke.
- 23:56Just saying.
- 24:01Let's say Milano, a very vocal minority.
- 24:04I believe you're correct.
- 24:06There's a vocal minority that do not like
- 24:07Laura,
- 24:08and they want to dog her in everything
- 24:11she does.
- 24:14I'm not one of those people.
- 24:16I can look and see what she does
- 24:17on the floor.
- 24:19She dominated Rogue,
- 24:20and you guys can say it's not the
- 24:22games,
- 24:22but everybody who did Rogue this year said
- 24:25it was one of the hardest competitions
- 24:27they've ever done across the board.
- 24:31She dominated.
- 24:32She dominated the entire field.
- 24:34Yeah, Tia wasn't there,
- 24:36but she dominated that field.
- 24:43Megan, you're going to have to rewind.
- 24:46I ain't going over it again.
- 24:49Sorry.
- 24:53So it's already being mentioned in the
- 24:55chat.
- 24:56So the last thing I'm going to bring
- 24:57up is this.
- 25:01We have been clamoring now for the last
- 25:04couple weeks that WFP has never posted
- 25:11what the pro cards are worth and that
- 25:14that was something they should do to
- 25:16entice the athletes to say, okay,
- 25:19now I know what I'm going for and
- 25:22this is what it's going to be.
- 25:25What makes it complicated is this isn't
- 25:28like, hey, you get this money.
- 25:32And it's more like, hey,
- 25:34this is the minimum you're going to make
- 25:36next year.
- 25:38And that makes everything so complicated
- 25:40with the way they're doing things.
- 25:42So if you win the number one pro
- 25:45card next year,
- 25:47you are guaranteed eighty grand.
- 25:50But that doesn't mean that if you win
- 25:53the first two tour stops and they don't
- 25:56equal eighty grand,
- 25:57you're not getting any more money than
- 25:58that guarantee.
- 26:00You have to win enough money to get
- 26:02above that to then be paid more money,
- 26:06which really complicates this.
- 26:09And anytime you overcomplicate it,
- 26:11I think you are losing people in the
- 26:15process.
- 26:16This should be simple, but it's not.
- 26:23So they put this out.
- 26:24If you get the number one pro card,
- 26:27it's eighty grand.
- 26:30And it goes all the way down to
- 26:31the twentieth pro card gets ten grand
- 26:33guaranteed.
- 26:36I'm not sure.
- 26:39With looking at how the people have been
- 26:41beaten up by doing so many events last
- 26:43year.
- 26:45That ten grand or twelve grand or twenty
- 26:47grand is enough to make them.
- 26:54Is to make them incentivized enough to
- 26:58jump over to the WFP.
- 27:02And it looks like we have Patrick Clark
- 27:04in the comments.
- 27:05Oh, no, no, it's Heller Fit.
- 27:06Scott,
- 27:07stop comparing it to the CrossFit Games.
- 27:11Which, Heller,
- 27:12I have not done and you didn't do
- 27:14this morning.
- 27:15I'm not comparing this to the CrossFit
- 27:17Games.
- 27:18I'm just, as a standalone entity,
- 27:20is this enough to incentivize people to
- 27:23want to put their bodies on the line
- 27:25for an extra four competitions a year?
- 27:31And I don't believe it does unless you're
- 27:35in like the eighty seventy fifty,
- 27:37maybe fifty grand.
- 27:42I think you're better off doing some of
- 27:45the mid majors and some of the offseason
- 27:49events to make money rather than think
- 27:53that this is the way to go and
- 27:55beat up your body for the next season.
- 28:04WFP pays for the trip to Copenhagen too,
- 28:06right?
- 28:07So it's actually in the press release.
- 28:12I can pull that up real quick.
- 28:17Scott,
- 28:17why can't you appreciate the transparency
- 28:19here for the WFP?
- 28:22It would have been transparency had it
- 28:23been done like a year ago.
- 28:26I think at this point when the ship
- 28:28is sinking and now you're claiming
- 28:31transparency,
- 28:31it might be a hair too late to
- 28:34play that card.
- 28:39When people are leaving your event in
- 28:41droves and now you're trying to
- 28:43incentivize them to stay or not to leave,
- 28:47now you're going to publish what the pro
- 28:49card's worth next year?
- 28:50Seems a little disingenuous.
- 29:02Corey Leonard,
- 29:03can we get them to throw in free
- 29:04hot dogs?
- 29:10Hillary's having a hard time typing in
- 29:11sarcasm.
- 29:14I'm reading into it.
- 29:15I got it.
- 29:19Mike DeVito, it's the desperate card.
- 29:20A tale as old as time.
- 29:23There you go.
- 29:33Why are people so mad that Costco
- 29:35employees are superior to most human
- 29:36beings?
- 29:41That one I'm at a loss for.
- 29:44I'm not a Costco fan, Hiller.
- 29:45I'm sorry.
- 29:47Our Costco here is so trash.
- 29:52So I'm a member of BJ's Warehouse because
- 29:56it's much cleaner.
- 29:57It's much nicer,
- 29:59much easier to get around.
- 30:02I get the allure to a good Costco.
- 30:05Ours is just trash.
- 30:07Wish it wasn't, but it is.
- 30:13So we did get a media release today
- 30:15from the WFP,
- 30:19and they do say something about travel,
- 30:27but I can't remember...
- 30:35And it's really hard to read right here
- 30:37and I don't want to do it on
- 30:38the air.
- 30:39I don't see anything.
- 30:46It just says it's guaranteed minimum and
- 30:51they don't really say anything about
- 30:52travel.
- 30:54The only travel that I've seen or heard
- 30:57of was...
- 31:01rob the european event coordinator saying
- 31:04they have a blank check to travel wherever
- 31:06they want to as long as they wear
- 31:08a um a wfp shirt uh mike devito
- 31:15loves bjs yeah uh and a shoop bjs
- 31:21are my favorite yep so
- 31:31Uh, Barbara spin confirms, uh,
- 31:33travel and accommodations are covered for
- 31:35the pros.
- 31:37So there you go.
- 31:47Uh, Corey Leonard has,
- 31:48how has that company not capitalized on
- 31:50that double entendre slogan drives me
- 31:52bonkers.
- 31:54Yeah.
- 31:56so you get the guaranteed money and you
- 31:57get your travel paid for to the events,
- 32:01but at what expense we've seen people drop
- 32:03out.
- 32:03We've seen people injured.
- 32:05Um, it's going to be,
- 32:09it's going to be interesting to see how,
- 32:11how incentivized people are.
- 32:13We've had a myriad of withdrawals in the
- 32:16last week and, um,
- 32:21And there still is, what,
- 32:24five weeks before the next tour stop,
- 32:27the finals, five or six weeks.
- 32:30I'm sure we're going to see more before
- 32:32then and see if this is anything to
- 32:40keep people incentivized.
- 32:42The only thing that's in the WFP's favor
- 32:44is this rumored sale of CrossFit and not
- 32:48knowing where CrossFit is going next year.
- 32:51That's the only thing that, and again,
- 32:55building your platform on the failures of
- 32:58another entity has worked so well for WFP
- 33:02so far.
- 33:05It would really suck that...
- 33:08that they get out of this because there
- 33:10just is new ownership that maybe takes
- 33:14away the season from CrossFit.
- 33:15We don't know.
- 33:16We have no idea what these new people
- 33:17want or what they're going to do.
- 33:20Everything there is speculation.
- 33:23And I just hate when new owners and
- 33:27new CEOs jump in and have no idea
- 33:29what the hell they're doing.
- 33:35Exactly.
- 33:36Mike DeVito.
- 33:38WFP looking at the looming sale like,
- 33:40so you're telling me there's a chance?
- 33:47It's wild that WFP has been at the
- 33:49table with the new owners.
- 33:51And they're supposedly an NDA and they're
- 33:53not supposed to know, right?
- 33:56Right?
- 34:00Why would WFP,
- 34:01who has nothing to do with CrossFit...
- 34:04or Berkshire,
- 34:06or the people brokering the deal,
- 34:09why would they have preferential
- 34:13information above?
- 34:16It just,
- 34:18there's a lot of weird shit about this
- 34:19whole rumored sale.
- 34:21A lot of weird shit.
- 34:24I don't even know.
- 34:28I have no idea what to think anymore
- 34:30with that.
- 34:32I just don't want CrossFit to go away.
- 34:36I want someone to come in and make
- 34:37CrossFit the name it's supposed to be,
- 34:41make it mean something again.
- 34:49Vicky asks, on this question,
- 34:51why are the elites so dismissive of the
- 34:52Open?
- 34:53First in the Open is nice money.
- 34:56Look at Colton's earnings for the year
- 34:58just in that,
- 34:59plus side comps before WFP even.
- 35:03Kind of nuts to me.
- 35:06I know Carolyn loves the Open.
- 35:08She has earned money in the Open the
- 35:09last, or at least...
- 35:12Not this year, but the two years previous.
- 35:14And it's more money than she makes at
- 35:16semifinals or more money than she makes
- 35:19throughout the season.
- 35:20So I don't know why people don't.
- 35:23I know why.
- 35:23If you talk to the athletes themselves,
- 35:26because it's very easy for them to make
- 35:29the top twenty five percent.
- 35:32They look at as they want it to
- 35:34be take the least amount away from their
- 35:38training.
- 35:40And so they don't get to pick that
- 35:42workout.
- 35:42They have to do that workout regardless of
- 35:45what's on deck for their training program
- 35:47for the week.
- 35:48And so a lot of them just get
- 35:51it done quick,
- 35:52get it over with and move on so
- 35:55they can get back to their normal
- 35:56training.
- 35:58when it mattered and like they actually
- 36:00were taking people directly from the open
- 36:03to the games or picking the people who
- 36:06went to regionals to compete for the
- 36:08games, it mattered.
- 36:10And it was way more than top twenty
- 36:12five percent.
- 36:13You had to be in like the top
- 36:14twenty in your region.
- 36:16So it meant a lot more.
- 36:21Yeah.
- 36:23now it just doesn't mean anything because
- 36:24it's very easy for them at eighty percent
- 36:28sixty percent to get in the top twenty
- 36:30five percent and move on to the next
- 36:34Now we have suggested on this show that
- 36:38the open score should count during
- 36:40quarterfinals.
- 36:42So you have a more complete test going
- 36:45into semifinals.
- 36:46You take the three scores from the open,
- 36:49the four scores from quarterfinals,
- 36:51put them all together and make one seven
- 36:55event entity that qualifies people to the
- 36:59next level.
- 37:01And that way the open would matter.
- 37:04Because what happens is they do like the
- 37:08big cardio events in the open.
- 37:11Then they kind of take those away at
- 37:12quarterfinals and do more higher skill
- 37:15because that's the next level.
- 37:17Why not leave it all as one complete
- 37:19test moving forward into semifinals?
- 37:32Um,
- 37:34Mike DeVito,
- 37:34I hope the new owners realize that the
- 37:36initial growth of CrossFit worked because
- 37:38of the simple formula.
- 37:41The games is a highlight of the best
- 37:43in the community and helps bring awareness
- 37:44to the community.
- 37:49I can do the bare minimum for the
- 37:51open and make quarters.
- 37:52This year,
- 37:52they managed to make quarters matter for
- 37:54those of us old folks who want the
- 37:57chance to compete in the semis in person.
- 38:02uh phil to pooper uh that's a terrible
- 38:05idea i completely disagree why would a
- 38:09more complete test not um why why wouldn't
- 38:18you want the best people in the semifinals
- 38:22and give them a more complete test
- 38:28don't points from the semis go to the
- 38:29games because the games is a complete test
- 38:32on its own the open in three events
- 38:36cannot be a complete test quarterfinals
- 38:41four events cannot be a complete test
- 38:44without some kind of skewing in one
- 38:47direction or another by combining them
- 38:50together you can get a complete test and
- 38:52get the right people to semi-finals
- 39:04Uh, some people,
- 39:04some athletes began to scoff at the open
- 39:06because the sport grew quickly and some of
- 39:08them forgot the meaning of the sport side
- 39:11and their place in the CrossFit ecosystem.
- 39:12Just my opinion.
- 39:20Uh, Vicki, I like that too, Scott.
- 39:22It's like the five week open,
- 39:23but two weeks are filtered after cuts.
- 39:26Exactly.
- 39:28Exactly.
- 39:29The five week open,
- 39:29we used to get a more complete test.
- 39:32We can't get that in three weeks.
- 39:34So why not combine the three week open
- 39:36with the quarterfinals and have that
- 39:38complete test again?
- 39:43If they're never going to bring back the
- 39:44five week open,
- 39:47why not make it a five week open
- 39:50by adding quarterfinals to the mix?
- 39:59Yeah, Kenneth,
- 40:00I saw that Hiller's new video is out.
- 40:01I've definitely got to check that out.
- 40:08Frida, I missed the five-week open.
- 40:10I'm conflicted about the five-week open
- 40:13personally.
- 40:13I was a coach.
- 40:15I was the head judge for our gym
- 40:18during the five-week open,
- 40:19and it wore us out to put on
- 40:23a five-week open.
- 40:25It just is a daunting thing for affiliate
- 40:28owners.
- 40:32Now,
- 40:33my gym at the time did a gym-wide
- 40:39competition.
- 40:40We had a hundred and fifty members doing
- 40:43the open.
- 40:45we're all on separate teams.
- 40:46We were scoring all that.
- 40:48We were,
- 40:48so maybe we added more to it to,
- 40:51to make it harder on ourselves.
- 40:54But man,
- 40:54that five week open was crazy hard for
- 40:58the coaches and the affiliate owners.
- 41:01Um,
- 41:11So the wrong people have been going to
- 41:12semis when there are quarterfinals.
- 41:15I believe there have been people there
- 41:17that should not be there.
- 41:20Yes.
- 41:28Vicky,
- 41:28that said to twenty twenty six rulebook is
- 41:30not yet.
- 41:31Maybe that's exactly what they're
- 41:32planning.
- 41:33Yeah.
- 41:33Who knows?
- 41:41If you run an efficient affiliate with
- 41:42equipment and standards in every single
- 41:44class,
- 41:45the open shouldn't be any different.
- 41:49We made it special, Jenny.
- 41:51And it, it, again,
- 41:54we probably put way too much on ourselves
- 41:56on top of what we were doing for
- 41:58the open.
- 42:02We had a major like Friday night party
- 42:04and a Saturday afternoon party every
- 42:07single week.
- 42:09We roped it off like it was a
- 42:11competition.
- 42:12We had people cheering from the sides.
- 42:16It really was a great experience for the
- 42:19athletes.
- 42:20I'm just saying we probably put too much
- 42:22on ourselves.
- 42:33Phil DePuper,
- 42:33the bottom of the twenty five percent
- 42:35won't sign up for quarters if they know
- 42:36they aren't going to gain enough points to
- 42:38move on.
- 42:38I don't agree at all.
- 42:41I have a lot of friends who their
- 42:42goals are to make the twenty five percent
- 42:45and to get to compete in quarters.
- 42:48That is their yearly goal.
- 42:49Their yearly goal isn't to make the games
- 42:51or to make semifinals.
- 42:53Their yearly goal is to make
- 42:54quarterfinals.
- 42:55I'm so glad they brought that back because
- 43:00it really was something that a lot of
- 43:02people shoot for.
- 43:10A lot of people liking the five-week open.
- 43:17Tristan, five-week was fun.
- 43:19Better test.
- 43:20I like quarters as well, though,
- 43:22as testing body as long as it's a
- 43:24test.
- 43:35Yes, Jonathan.
- 43:36So many people wanted to make it to
- 43:38quarters.
- 43:40I have so many friends that that is
- 43:42their goal every single year is to get
- 43:45to quarterfinals.
- 43:50So with that,
- 43:52I'm coming up on the end of my
- 43:54lunch hour.
- 43:55It's been a fun Monday.
- 43:56You guys have really poked the bear today.
- 43:59So thank you so much for that.
- 44:05Winter says,
- 44:05all I did was cry and complain about
- 44:07no quarters last year.
- 44:09Yeah,
- 44:09a lot of people were really upset when
- 44:11the quarters went away.
- 44:12It took away their goal.
- 44:25so with that guys um thank you so
- 44:29much for being here today love you all
- 44:31don't forget code jazzy at third z if
- 44:34you want to sleep better at night and
- 44:35have better recovery it's awesome i'm
- 44:38gonna try the new flavor tonight the
- 44:41salted caramel chocolate um and maybe i'll
- 44:44do i don't know i'll tell you about
- 44:46it tomorrow
- 44:47With that,
- 44:49the Bears are still in first place.
- 44:51And we'll see everybody next time on Lunch
- 44:53with the Cladsdale.
- 44:54Bye, guys.
