Speaker 1: heavenly father. Amen. So let's pick it up. In verse six,

Speaker 1: we're gonna see right here where Peter actually is still

Speaker 1: experiencing peace even though he is locked up in prison.

Speaker 1: So let's dive into it. And verse six it says

Speaker 1: that when Herod was about to bring him out. That night,

Speaker 1: Peter was sleeping bound with two chains between two soldiers,

Speaker 1: and the guards before the door were Peter. Where they

Speaker 1: were keeping Peter in prison. Now behold, an angel of

Speaker 1: the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in

Speaker 1: the prison. And he struck Peter on the side and

Speaker 1: said to him, saying, arise quickly, and his chains fell

Speaker 1: off his hands. Then the angel said to him, gird

Speaker 1: yourself and tie on your sandals, and so he did,

Speaker 1: and he said to him, put on your garment and

Speaker 1: follow me. So he went out and followed him, and

Speaker 1: did not know that what was done by the angel

Speaker 1: was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. When

Speaker 1: they were passed the first in the second guard post

Speaker 1: that came to the iron gate that leads to the city,

Speaker 1: which opened to them of its own accord. And they

Speaker 1: went out and went down the street, and immediately the

Speaker 1: angel departed from him. And when Peter had come to himself,

Speaker 1: he said, now I know for certain that the Lord

Speaker 1: has sent his angel and has delivered me from the

Speaker 1: hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the

Speaker 1: Jewish people. Wow, this is an amazing portion of scripture.

Speaker 1: All right, Well, let's dive into it. Amen. And when

Speaker 1: Herod was about to bring him out that night, Peter

Speaker 1: was sleeping bound with two between two soldiers and the

Speaker 1: guard before the door keeping the prison. Hallelujah. Now, I

Speaker 1: think this is amazing that Peter had the ability to

Speaker 1: sleep during this situation. It shows that his heart was

Speaker 1: trusting in God even in the midst of this circumstance,

Speaker 1: even when death was looming over his head. The next

Speaker 1: day Peter said, you know what, I'm gonna give some sleep.

Speaker 1: I am not gonna worry about this. Now this verse

Speaker 1: is shocking. Peter is facing execution. Peter was chained to soldiers,

Speaker 1: he was surrounded by guards, and he was sleep. That's

Speaker 1: not denial. He's not denying denying his situation and circumstance.

Speaker 1: That's peace, Beloved. The Bible promise us that we will

Speaker 1: receive peace beyond understanding and beyond comprehension. Right, and this

Speaker 1: is a great example of that. Chains did not steal

Speaker 1: his rest because fear did not rule his heart at all.

Speaker 1: He was not afraid. How many of us would have

Speaker 1: been freaking out, how many of us would have been

Speaker 1: up all night trying to figure out what we're gonna

Speaker 1: do trying to call the other apostles like what's going on?

Speaker 1: How many of us would have been worried concerned? I mean,

Speaker 1: I have no clue how I would have responded in

Speaker 1: that situation. I pray and hope that I would have

Speaker 1: been just like Peter. I just sit there and rest

Speaker 1: and trust in the Lord. Some of us may be

Speaker 1: going through situations that are keeping us up at night,

Speaker 1: and Peter can sleep in this situation where they're threatening

Speaker 1: to kill him. That God can give us that same
11:24
Speaker 1: peace and that same rest no matter what we're going through.

Speaker 1: Right now, just cry out to him, amen, all right?

Speaker 1: Verse seven. Now behold an angel of the Lord stood

Speaker 1: by him, and he had light shone in the prison.

Speaker 1: And he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying,

Speaker 1: arise quickly, and his chains fell off his hands. Hallelujah.

Speaker 1: Now God didn't weaken the chains, He removed them entirely.

Speaker 1: God completely took the chains off of Peter. And I

Speaker 1: noticed this right check out these details. Light entered into darkness,

Speaker 1: and that really touches my heart. I have never seen

Speaker 1: an angel, at least not to my knowledge, or I

Speaker 1: have not been in that situation where the room just

Speaker 1: completely lit up because of a heavenly presence. But I've

Speaker 1: been in situations where I felt the presence of God

Speaker 1: and I felt the light like I felt a light,

Speaker 1: but I didn't see a light. It's kind of hard

Speaker 1: to describe it, but I just know the presence of

Speaker 1: God is amazing. Amen. Now chains fell without effort. They

Speaker 1: just fell off. It was no big deal. Was in

Speaker 1: a struggle. Peter didn't have to use his Jedi powers

Speaker 1: to float the keys from across the room. He did

Speaker 1: not have to try to knock out the guard, and

Speaker 1: you know Karate chopped the other guard and try to

Speaker 1: fight his way out. No, it was just easy, no

Speaker 1: big deal, no effort. The chains just fell right off.

Speaker 1: Then the angel gives him instruction. It's funny how he

Speaker 1: touched him. And imagine how powerful these angels really are,

Speaker 1: how big these angels really are. And he just gave

Speaker 1: him a gentle touch, a gentle tap, enough to wake

Speaker 1: them up.

Speaker 1: Then the angel gives him instructions. Now deliver. It is orderly,

Speaker 1: not chaotic. God loves to do things in order. Amen.

Speaker 1: That's why God has given my wife a great revelation lately.

Speaker 1: When we are in alignment with God. Doors open, doors

Speaker 1: open to us. Amen. Hallelujah. We got to stay in

Speaker 1: alignment blood. Now God doesn't panic at all. God will

Speaker 1: always act with authority. Allelujah. Now Peter was obedient even

Speaker 1: though he did not understand this situation. Sometimes obedience is

Speaker 1: required before we get the full under standing of a situation.

Speaker 1: In verse eight, it says, and the angel said to him,

Speaker 1: gird yourself and tie on your sandals, and so he did.

Speaker 1: Now this miracle required movement. Peter had to get dressed,

Speaker 1: he had to put on his shoes, and Peter followed

Speaker 1: the instructions. When Peter had to walk out behind the angel. Now,

Speaker 1: let's say if the angel started walking and Peter would

Speaker 1: have stayed put, who knows, you know how the story

Speaker 1: would have went. I know that it reminds me of

Speaker 1: a lot when God had to rescue him out of

Speaker 1: side himgamora. It says the angels really had to drag

Speaker 1: them out of the city.

Speaker 1: That's how our hearts can be. We can be so

Speaker 1: attached to this world where we see destruction in the

Speaker 1: angels still have to drag us out when we know

Speaker 1: God is getting ready to judge this system. Let us

Speaker 1: not let that not be us. Right in these last days.

Speaker 1: We know that we are in the last days, and

Speaker 1: we know that the church is going to be raptured soon.

Speaker 1: We know that Jesus is soon to come back, who

Speaker 1: is holding on to this world so tightly to where

Speaker 1: it's almost like angels will have to pull you out,

Speaker 1: like it happened to a lot. Let us not be

Speaker 1: like Lot's wife because she didn't make it. A lot

Speaker 1: of saints, a lot of Christians are not gonna make

Speaker 1: the rapture because they don't want to follow the instructions.

Speaker 1: them on the side, give them instructions, tell them to

Speaker 1: get dressed, put on the robe of righteousness, and tell

Speaker 1: them to follow him. Right, even though the Angel told

Speaker 1: Peter to follow, to follow Jesus is telling all of

Speaker 1: us to follow him. He is the way, the truth

Speaker 1: in the life. So we gotta get dressed, and we

Speaker 1: got to follow our Savior, and we got to walk

Speaker 1: out this life. We got to walk it out. But

Speaker 1: if we want to stay bound between two soldiers and

Speaker 1: think we're still prisoners, when God has opened up the

Speaker 1: prison doors, Hallelujah, Holy Spirit. This is good. The prison

Speaker 1: doors have been opened to every one of us. The

Speaker 1: key is the cross. All we have to do is

Speaker 1: come to the cross and we and God will break

Speaker 1: us out of the prison with no effort. The chains

Speaker 1: will just fall off, the doors will open. Right then,

Speaker 1: we're gonna read about a huge door to the city

Speaker 1: was open. What doors is God trying to open up

Speaker 1: in your life if you would only follow the instructions. Hallelujah.

Speaker 1: for somebody, because that was not even a part of

Speaker 1: the moment, but he still followed. And I believe that's

Speaker 1: and may even look bad. The situation may seem like

Speaker 1: it's the opposite of what God has promised. But if

Speaker 1: you stay faithful to God and stay in alignment. It

Speaker 1: will all work out. Sometimes freedom feels unreal at first, Right,

Speaker 1: don't wait to understand everything before you decide to be

Speaker 1: obedient to the call. Now a door is open. Now,

Speaker 1: this is what I was talking about. A second ago,

Speaker 1: a big door to the city in verse ten, when

Speaker 1: they were past, that's the first and second guard posts

Speaker 1: that came to an iron gate that leads to the city,

Speaker 1: is so good. The iron gate symbolizes Roman security, yet

Speaker 1: it yielded effortlessly to God's power. Do you hear that, beloved?

Speaker 1: of us. It could be in the form of an addiction.

Speaker 1: It could be in the form of a relationship issue.

Speaker 1: It could be in a form of financial lack. It

Speaker 1: your iron gate? Don't you know that that gate has

Speaker 1: called secure, God called temporary. Now, remember, Rome was the

Speaker 1: this iron gate was there to guard and protect the

Speaker 1: most powerful empire in the ancient world, and the gate

Speaker 1: opened effortlessly. The gate didn't need force, It responded to authority.

Speaker 1: The angel didn't even need to knock. The angel didn't

Speaker 1: even break a sweat. Allelujah. That's for somebody as well.

Speaker 1: God is able to deliver. And I'm walking in there

Speaker 1: and it was skillful. It was the Lord who delivered him.

Speaker 1: God didn't just free him from chains, He freed him

Speaker 1: from the expectations of death. How many people have people

Speaker 1: in our lives who expect us to fail, expect our

Speaker 1: marriages to fail, expect our ministries to fail. As a

Speaker 1: matter of fact, there's people out there praying for our downfall,

Speaker 1: plotting and planning against us. But you know, in my life,

Speaker 1: my God is my great deliverer. I am at the

Speaker 1: point where I'm able to rest and be at peace

Speaker 1: because I realize that God fights my battles and I've

Speaker 1: been going through some battles, Beloved, trust me, I got

Speaker 1: some testimony in almost every area. But God has shifted

Speaker 1: this season. I'm in a new season right now, and

Speaker 1: this just strengthens my faith, and this lets me know

Speaker 1: that God is real. He is my deliverer. I give

Speaker 1: him glory, honor, and praise. And I just want to
