- 1:09Fulfilling God's Purpose with Nick is coming soon And he is going to have his
- 1:15own Gmail account for that I don't want to steal his thunder,
- 1:18but without further ado This is now the Nick Show for the next episode here
- 1:23He's going to take it over Nick,
- 1:25the floor is yours, my friend Thank you, Angel.
- 1:29And it's always good to be here and talk to your Have Faith,
- 1:32Let It Begin audience. So my...
- 1:36My intention is to really kind of talk about, it's kind of related to what you
- 1:41also do, is to talk about the everyday occurrences, our everyday lives,
- 1:47and how we get through the day, and relate it to Scripture, how God wants us
- 1:55to live our life, how he wants us to have the interactions with one another.
- 1:59So with that being said, I actually had planned a different episode for today,
- 2:07but it's something that we'll put off for the next time.
- 2:11But I wanted to talk about the time that we spend with the people who we come in contact with.
- 2:21You know, our significant others, our family, our colleagues who we work with.
- 2:28And you can even add strangers who we've never even come across before.
- 2:35When we have these interactions, we should live in the moment and not put it off.
- 2:43And what I mean by that is, you know, if you're speaking to someone,
- 2:48someone in your family, or if they're speaking to you, let's do it that way.
- 2:54If they're speaking to you and maybe telling you about their day or they have
- 3:00a question or they want to start a conversation with something that's on their
- 3:04mind and you're involved in something else at the time,
- 3:08like you're either texting something or you're watching something on TV and
- 3:13you say, well, can I just finish this or can I just watch the show?
- 3:18Or, you know, maybe tomorrow morning, I'll have some time tomorrow morning.
- 3:23Why don't we, you know, just sit down and we'll be able to talk. Don't do that.
- 3:28Don't do that. Live for the moment. Stop everything that you're doing,
- 3:32if possible, and take care of what the present brings.
- 3:39And I'm going to relate that to Scripture now, because that's the intention
- 3:44to try to do everything that we talk about, try to relate it to Scripture.
- 3:48In Matthew 24, 42 to 44. and I'm certain that everyone in your audience,
- 3:58Angel, has heard this before.
- 4:01Therefore, keep watch, because you do not know on what day or what hour the Lord will come.
- 4:09But understand this, if the owner of the house had known at what time of night
- 4:14the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.
- 4:22So we don't know when our time is going to come. It could be five minutes from now.
- 4:26It could be five days from now. It could be five years from now.
- 4:31Live your life as if, you know, it's short term. You never know.
- 4:38So pay attention to things like that. Pay attention to people who want to connect with you.
- 4:45You know, and just make sure you make time. Time as current as possible.
- 4:51We should never know when your day is going to come.
- 4:54You know, everyone, I'm sure everyone knows that you and I work together.
- 4:59And, you know, we interact with between, you know, the both of us between 200 and 300 people a day.
- 5:11And I know that as far as I'm concerned
- 5:14when I'm coming out of my car walking into
- 5:17the building I'm saying to myself God give
- 5:20me the grace to get through the day today just give me the grace and the tools
- 5:26to get through the day today because some of the some of the people we interact
- 5:29with are pretty tough and when you when you're going through it you just feel
- 5:36like you know ending the conversation,
- 5:39hanging the phone up, but you don't.
- 5:41We try to help them as much as we possibly can and treat them as if we're the
- 5:48only person that we have to talk to all day long.
- 5:53Meanwhile, there's another 200 or 300 people yet to go.
- 5:57We want to make sure that they feel that they're being taken care of at that moment. So,
- 6:05So live your life that way. Live your life and pay attention to things like that.
- 6:10Don't put people off. Don't make them feel that they're not important because
- 6:15you may regret it. You may regret it.
- 6:18And don't forget, at the end of the day, we're living here building a resume,
- 6:22building a resume from the day when we're going to be judged.
- 6:29And the Lord is a fair judge, but he's going to look at everything.
- 6:33So just keep that in mind of how you live your life.
- 6:37And towards that end, let me tell
- 6:39you a little something that I'm going to change in my life a little bit.
- 6:43And I challenge your audience to think about it and see if it works for them.
- 6:50Starting this Sunday, Sunday is the Lord's day of rest.
- 6:55So I'm going off media on Sundays.
- 7:00I will not reply or even look at text messages.
- 7:05I'll have my phone with me. If something comes up and something is emergent, I will take a phone call.
- 7:13I will answer my phone, but I will not go on the internet. I will not text anyone.
- 7:19That time is going to be left for my family and friends or whatever.
- 7:25So I'm going to try to make that time on a Sunday, which is the Lord's day.
- 7:31He rested on the seventh day.
- 7:33And I'm going to try to revitalize my life that way. So...
- 7:38I think everyone should think about it, maybe give it a try and see if it works for you.
- 7:45So any thoughts, Angel? Well, first of all, I want to thank you,
- 7:48Nick, for the powerful reminder. I do have some thoughts. Here at Half Faith, I'm going to begin.
- 7:53We couldn't agree more with what you said. Life is full of distractions,
- 7:56but the moments we share with people around us are families, right?
- 8:01They are our families, they are our coworkers. They're even the strangers that God places in our path.
- 8:05Even like for example you're the dog in the background
- 8:08right my dog right now is barking because he doesn't
- 8:11know if my wife is coming home he doesn't know if a stranger's there
- 8:14just like animals have instincts we too have instincts but one of the things
- 8:21that we have to incorporate is the words that challenge us to slow down to be
- 8:27present and to treasure of the conversations that can so easily slip through our fingers.
- 8:34And this is exactly the kind of encouragement that our community needs.
- 8:38So I'm going to ask you this.
- 8:40You're going to go ahead and challenge others, right?
- 8:43Like you're going to, this is one thing you want to do. You're going to come
- 8:46off social media on Sundays.
- 8:47You want to give basically all to God, eliminate all the distractions.
- 8:54So you're going to call to a live to be live
- 8:57not to be live in social media but live in the eyes and the calling of god which
- 9:04is i think they also known it as listening deeply i've heard it put that way
- 9:08correct so what if you know let's keep this moving here a little bit what what.
- 9:15What got you to making that decision? What was the one thing that said,
- 9:20you know what, I'm going to try this?
- 9:22The Sunday thing? Yeah.
- 9:25Well, the reason I decided to do that is because it's a hectic life.
- 9:32I mean, this week, I actually started out of this week because my work schedule
- 9:40was very hectic this week. It was very erratic.
- 9:43So I had all kinds of shifts. I was working in the morning, working in the middle
- 9:47of the afternoon, working late afternoon into the night.
- 9:52And I hardly saw my family at all for four days, really, because,
- 9:57you know, they're on different schedules than I am.
- 9:59And, you know, so, you know, it bothered me.
- 10:04It bothered me not being able to interact with them.
- 10:08And I felt like a loss. You know, I think.
- 10:14How do I make the time? How do I make the time when I do have off?
- 10:19How do I make the time to spend more time with them, to pay more attention to them?
- 10:27And I came up with this idea. And that's why you're going to do well,
- 10:32Nick, because you're...
- 10:33You're following what God's message was. And, you know, just when you think
- 10:37you're going in one direction, he shifts you and says, wait a minute,
- 10:39this is the message that you need to do.
- 10:41So whatever message that you
- 10:43decided to do previously, we're going to eventually put you on and do it.
- 10:46But something intervened and God wanted you to say this because it could be
- 10:50one individual right now that is dealing with that in addition to you.
- 10:54And for that, we're grateful for your heart, heart, you know,
- 10:58message, heartful message and excited for the impact that you're going to be
- 11:02doing in your podcasting days.
- 11:05So I think the best way to end today's episode is to start off by saying,
- 11:11thank you for being honest about what you're going through in your life.
- 11:16Thank you for sharing that your work schedule affected your ability to interact with your family,
- 11:24which made you feel a little bit outside are outside looking into this fishbowl, so to speak.
- 11:32So, you know, I know, and you know that I know, and that you know,
- 11:36that I know that, you know, I know that our work schedules are crazy,
- 11:40but it's not long-term, right?
- 11:42It's short-term. And we know that we all have to pay our dues.
- 11:46I'm sure that what you put out will come to you in, you know, tenfold.
- 11:53So thank you for that. Let's close out in a prayer.
- 11:56Heavenly Father, there are many of us right now that may be dealing with the same situations.
- 12:02And even if it's not a crazy work schedule, maybe you're dealing with the fact
- 12:07that you have the same work schedule.
- 12:09You both get home at the same time and you're both trying to unwind,
- 12:13but you don't realize that you can do that together or even take a few minutes
- 12:18to unwind and meet up at the dinner table and say, hey, how was your day?
- 12:22And sometimes when you ask those questions.
- 12:25The other person may have had a bad day and your response for yourself may be
- 12:30put off for a little while because your intention is really to make sure that
- 12:35you let them unwind and release all the tension.
- 12:40In return, you'll have your moment where you can share.
- 12:43So Lord, we ask you to be with these people, especially during the difficult
- 12:48times of the holiday season.
- 12:50And we thank Nick for coming in and humbling himself and sharing with us what
- 12:56is happening in his life.
- 12:57We pray this unto you in the name of the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit.
- 13:01In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
- 13:03Thank you, Nick, for being here. I'm excited for you to join our community.
- 13:08I'm excited for you to be on our show more.
- 13:10And I'm looking forward to having you on for another episode.
- 13:14And they're going to get to know you more.
- 13:17And now you have a new email address.
- 13:20If they want to comment on this episode, where can they reach out to you? I do.
- 13:24I do. And I would appreciate people, you know, give me their comments.
- 13:28But if it's negative, that's fine, too.
- 13:30I just like to hear what people think about it.
- 13:33My email address would be F as in Frank, F-G as in God, P as in Peter.
- 13:40So FGP with Nick at gmail.com. All right.
- 13:46That's FGP with Nick at gmail.com. Don't worry.
- 13:50We're going to put that in the description so that when you go into our synopsis,
- 13:53it'll be there. You can click on that, tap it with your fingers.
- 13:56And we are encouraging everyone to not respond to Have Faith Let It Begin.
- 14:00From this episode, we want you to have all of the feedback.
- 14:05Even if it's about me, you can send it to Nick. He'll let me know,
- 14:08but let's flood Nick with his email and give him the feedback that he wants
- 14:12so that he can begin to build his channel,
- 14:16to begin his journey, and to allow all of us to feel safe and comfortable in
- 14:21the eyes of our Heavenly Father.
- 14:22Nick, as always, it's a pleasure, and hopefully we'll have easier days before it work.
- 14:27I think that you gave me an idea. The next episode I'd like to do with you in
- 14:31addition to the one you were going to do, let's do an episode about what we
- 14:36do in our work environment and how we.
- 14:40Just try to overcome all the negativity that comes our way, even though we know
- 14:45it's not truly meant to hit us.
- 14:48It's just people that are dealing with a lot of things.
- 14:51We'll get into that and make it work better, but let's do that.
- 14:56Great idea. All right. Everybody have a good day. Merry Christmas.
- 14:59I'll let Nick close us out.
- 15:01And remember, have faith, let it begin.
- 15:05Take care. And I can't wait to hear what his tagline is going to be with his
- 15:08show. He's going to work on that one. Take care, guys. Have a good one.
