Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Caitlin, congrats on the win. What an interesting first three games.
- 0:03Speaker 1: Player of the game the first game, the super uncharacteristic
- 0:06Speaker 1: game two just from the entire team and now finally
- 0:09Speaker 1: this well-balanced incredible big win. What's it been like to
- 0:13Speaker 1: learn each other and see it come through in this one?
- 0:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you can see our chemistry slowly building
- 0:17Speaker 2: and you know obviously we wanted to come out here
- 0:20Speaker 2: and we were all excited that we kind of had
- 0:22Speaker 2: a back-to-back and could get out here and play again.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Obviously after last night we didn't play our best, wasn't
- 0:27Speaker 2: great at all so Thought we were much better on
- 0:29Speaker 2: the offensive end. Played with a lot more pace tonight.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Played in transition better. Thought we were.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Good on defense.
- 0:34Speaker 2: And, you know, excited to have the bye and get
- 0:36Speaker 2: ready for three more games.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Your court vision is so elite. Can you explain to
- 0:39Speaker 1: me what it's like to have so many options out there?
- 0:41Speaker 1: And then are you also having to wait to see
- 0:44Speaker 1: what elite pass is coming at you at all times
- 0:46Speaker 1: for once?
- 0:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you got to get to play with
- 0:48Speaker 2: so many talented players. That's what makes it fun. Sometimes
- 0:50Speaker 2: it's hard to decide who to pass to because everybody's
- 0:52Speaker 2: so talented and everybody's able to create their own shot.
- 0:54Speaker 2: So You know, it's fun to get to play in
- 0:56Speaker 2: transition with these players, a lot of which some are
- 0:58Speaker 2: my first time, some I've played with prior with USA Basketball. But,
- 1:02Speaker 2: you know, I think that can really help us going forward,
- 1:04Speaker 2: getting out running in transition. kicking the ball ahead. So
- 1:07Speaker 2: just try to find everybody, set them up for easy baskets.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Another one in the books. Thanks for your time.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Well, Fee, congrats on the great team win. You get
- 1:13Speaker 1: to set the tone for this team. You shot 50%
- 1:15Speaker 1: through in six boards. What was it like to see
- 1:17Speaker 1: it all come together and just respond and bounce back
- 1:19Speaker 1: from last night in this way?
- 1:20Speaker 4: I think we needed it. Obviously, we didn't shoot well
- 1:22Speaker 4: last night, but there's some things on the defensive end
- 1:24Speaker 4: we wanted to clean up too. I thought we did
- 1:26Speaker 4: a good job for the most part. There's still some
- 1:28Speaker 4: things that we need to do better, but I think.
- 1:30Speaker 3: It was a pretty solid effort.
- 1:31Speaker 1: With so much talent on this team, how are you
- 1:33Speaker 1: choosing when and if to insert your veteran presence and
- 1:35Speaker 1: your knowledge? And what is some of the advice that
- 1:37Speaker 1: you're giving some of the youth on this team?
- 1:39Speaker 4: I think just listening to the coaches. My role here
- 1:40Speaker 4: is different than it is on my W team, which
- 1:43Speaker 4: it is for everyone almost. And we have that conversation
- 1:46Speaker 4: as a team. You know, Carrie did with us saying, like,
- 1:48Speaker 4: we need to do what is asked of us here.
- 1:50Speaker 4: So really just trying to listen to her there. And
- 1:53Speaker 4: I think just, you know, the veterans on the team,
- 1:54Speaker 4: we have been in this, you know, high pressure situations before.
- 1:57Speaker 4: So kind of bringing that calm energy is what we
- 2:00Speaker 4: try to do.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Enjoy the rest and we'll see you in the next one.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 2:02Speaker 5: All right, Brianna, first of all, congrats. You're the player
- 2:06Speaker 5: of the game. What's your first reaction? What's your take
- 2:09Speaker 5: on this game after the one yesterday?
- 2:12Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I think that I wanted to come
- 2:15Speaker 3: out and really lead this team in a number of ways. Obviously,
- 2:18Speaker 3: last night was a close one. A great test for us.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Italy is a tough opponent, but wanted to make sure that,
- 2:23Speaker 3: you know, today we really took things into our own
- 2:25Speaker 3: hands and really lead by example here.
- 2:28Speaker 5: Yeah, we got the message. Yesterday was just an e-cup.
- 2:32Speaker 5: That's the message, right?
- 2:34Speaker 3: Yeah, that's definitely the message. I mean, we know that
- 2:36Speaker 3: pool play is done now and going to be ready
- 2:38Speaker 3: for quarterfinals to see whoever we face. But it's do
- 2:42Speaker 3: or die at this point.
- 2:43Speaker 5: And you're happy with your own performance, like 19 points
- 2:46Speaker 5: on what, seven boards and six assists?
- 2:50Speaker 3: Yeah, that's not bad. Yeah, I mean, I think that
- 2:53Speaker 3: there's a number of things that we can all do
- 2:55Speaker 3: on this team. Obviously, when you're playing with incredible talents,
- 2:58Speaker 3: My teammates make it easy, but I'm trying to do
- 3:01Speaker 3: the right things and really get the team going in
- 3:03Speaker 3: a number of ways.
- 3:04Speaker 5: Way to go. Thank you for your time.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Thank you. Appreciate it. Thank you.
