Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's your person. I guess, Michelle. I think I
- 0:04Speaker 1: don't know. I've been trying to record this for like
- 0:07Speaker 1: a full day, and every time I i'm about too
- 0:09Speaker 1: something happens and I'm getting really stressed because somehow like
- 0:15Speaker 1: happens every season. I started recording like way out into
- 0:19Speaker 1: the future and being like way ahead, and now I'm
- 0:22Speaker 1: like down to the wire. It's Monday, so it's not terrible.
- 0:26Speaker 1: I still have some time, but now all of a sudden,
- 0:29Speaker 1: I have an inspection tonight, just like literally out of nowhere.
- 0:32Speaker 1: And I hate inspections that pop up on the same
- 0:34Speaker 1: day because usually the people are not the most reliable.
- 0:38Speaker 1: So I'm all stressed out about that. But I gotta
- 0:41Speaker 1: get this done because I have to figure out sometime
- 0:43Speaker 1: that I can edit it after I do this, and
- 0:44Speaker 1: I'm like kind of freaking out about that because I
- 0:46Speaker 1: guess that's Wednesday, which is the day before it comes out,
- 0:49Speaker 1: which is kind of scary because sometimes theyse take a
- 0:51Speaker 1: long time to edit because I just constantly say stupid
- 0:54Speaker 1: things and I gotta edit them out. So yeah, I'm
- 0:57Speaker 1: really stressed out right now. Yay, let's talk about episode
- 1:01Speaker 1: eight of eighty six. I have so much to say
- 1:05Speaker 1: about this episode that I'm scared because again, don't have
- 1:09Speaker 1: a lot of time really stressed out. So we're just
- 1:12Speaker 1: gonna see how this goes. I might have a section
- 1:15Speaker 1: at the end that's got to do with like real
- 1:18Speaker 1: world stuff that's kind of like the stuff in this
- 1:20Speaker 1: episode that I can't tell you about yet, but I'm
- 1:23Speaker 1: not sure because it's really upsetting. So we'll see, right,
- 1:26Speaker 1: I don't know whatever, So let's just do it. Episode
- 1:31Speaker 1: eight is called Let's Go. And I don't know if
- 1:34Speaker 1: you figure this out by now, but every episode title
- 1:37Speaker 1: is a line that someone has said during the show,
- 1:39Speaker 1: so I'll point them out going forward when we get
- 1:42Speaker 1: to them. I should have been doing that the whole time,
- 1:44Speaker 1: but I didn't because I'm a bad person anyway. If
- 1:47Speaker 1: you remember, at the end of the last episode, a
- 1:50Speaker 1: big fucking legion thing blew up somebody in one of
- 1:55Speaker 1: the other combat zones, I guess, And right before that,
- 1:59Speaker 1: the big Legion thing with the gun had just killed
- 2:03Speaker 1: like three or four of the Spearhead squadron and they
- 2:06Speaker 1: were like hiding in that dugout and they told Lena
- 2:08Speaker 1: that like this is basically their execution grounds, yeah, so
- 2:14Speaker 1: we're kind of over there. So we start the episode
- 2:18Speaker 1: looking at that dummy that's on the bench, you know,
- 2:21Speaker 1: at like Spearheads Barracks that has a big sign that
- 2:23Speaker 1: says pig around its neck, and it is August twenty seven,
- 2:27Speaker 1: twenty one forty eight, so I think this is like
- 2:31Speaker 1: pretty much right after that battle and the dugout scene
- 2:34Speaker 1: and everything. It's nights. We hear Shin say all right,
- 2:38Speaker 1: if we have to, thanks, and then we hear the
- 2:41Speaker 1: noise of the paraide cutting out. Ryden is walking down
- 2:45Speaker 1: kind of this exterior hallway and he looks over and
- 2:48Speaker 1: stops and says, was that Kenos group. Shin walks over
- 2:51Speaker 1: to him and says, yeah. He's holding like a bunch
- 2:54Speaker 1: of little metal pieces with insignias on them, which is
- 2:57Speaker 1: just fucking wonderful. And he says they looked hard, but
- 3:01Speaker 1: they said they couldn't find She says drug or not right,
- 3:04Speaker 1: AND's like, not even a piece of it. Huh. Well,
- 3:07Speaker 1: I mean after that artillery blast. We cut to Fido
- 3:11Speaker 1: who's walking around, and Shin says, yeah, right, AND's like,
- 3:15Speaker 1: I'm sure it's not bothering you, but I'm gonna say
- 3:18Speaker 1: it anyway, it's not your fault. Shin looks a little
- 3:21Speaker 1: surprised at this, and then he smiles. We cut to Anji,
- 3:25Speaker 1: who's also sitting outside, and she is with the cat,
- 3:28Speaker 1: who is eating from a bowl on the ground as
- 3:30Speaker 1: it does, and she just looks super fucking blank. And
- 3:35Speaker 1: Ryan says, I thought they'd come after our base next,
- 3:38Speaker 1: but they haven't. We see Karina, who is sitting on
- 3:40Speaker 1: her bed hugging a pillow, and Shin says today's attack
- 3:44Speaker 1: had a secondary goal of testing the new weapon. We
- 3:46Speaker 1: cut to one of the boys that we don't know
- 3:48Speaker 1: his name taking a shower totally solemnly, and then another
- 3:52Speaker 1: of them brushing their teeth, and then to THEO who
- 3:54Speaker 1: is resting his head on his hands, staring blankly in
- 3:57Speaker 1: the common room. He has his sketch and pencil out
- 4:00Speaker 1: in front of him, but he's not drawing right and says,
- 4:04Speaker 1: we lost four to his secondary goal. Huh, we see
- 4:07Speaker 1: how to to throwing darts. Shin's like, if it's completed,
- 4:12Speaker 1: we'll lose more than four. There's another guy that we
- 4:14Speaker 1: don't know sitting next to how Toute, just looking sad.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Shin continues the Republic will fall. We finally cut back
- 4:21Speaker 1: to Rydon and Chin, so I don't have to keep
- 4:23Speaker 1: interspersing things because it's annoying. And Rydon is sitting on
- 4:27Speaker 1: a bench now and Sin is standing next to him,
- 4:29Speaker 1: and Shin says, I know that doesn't matter to us,
- 4:32Speaker 1: but I doubt the major's gould agree. Righton smirks, hmmm.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Shin's like what righton, crosses his arms and he's still
- 4:40Speaker 1: kind of smirking, and he's like nothing. Chin says, either way,
- 4:45Speaker 1: the new one's still silent for now, right and says,
- 4:48Speaker 1: you can tell Shin's like I memorized its voice. He
- 4:53Speaker 1: turns away and I doubt the enemy commander. I'll let
- 4:56Speaker 1: them use it, right, And it's like hmm. We cut
- 4:59Speaker 1: to like a really interesting shot of Shin's face. Mostly
- 5:02Speaker 1: it's just one of his eyes and the moon and
- 5:05Speaker 1: the sky are behind it, kind of like he's looking
- 5:08Speaker 1: down and we're below him. It's pretty nice. And his
- 5:11Speaker 1: eye narrows and he says, I found him. Right In,
- 5:14Speaker 1: stands your brother. We cut away from that really cool
- 5:18Speaker 1: shot of Shin and now we're just kind of seeing
- 5:21Speaker 1: only the neck and the top of his chest, and
- 5:23Speaker 1: ride In is behind him. We can kind of see
- 5:26Speaker 1: more of him, but we're really not seeing much of
- 5:28Speaker 1: Shin's face anyway. Shin adjusts his bandana and he says,
- 5:34Speaker 1: he found me too, I'll come for me next. That's
- 5:37Speaker 1: good luck for me, but not for you, guys. He
- 5:40Speaker 1: turns slightly towards Ryding. What'll you do? Right in gasps.
- 5:44Speaker 1: The camera is kind of shaking a bit now, and
- 5:46Speaker 1: Shin continues, hang yourself tonight before you die tomorrow, right,
- 5:50Speaker 1: and Shot kind of melts into a determined smile because
- 5:54Speaker 1: I mean, he's the one who was just saying that
- 5:56Speaker 1: to Lena, so yeah, and he says, not a chance
- 6:00Speaker 1: in hell, but he's sweating, will follow you to the end, reaper.
- 6:05Speaker 1: At this we finally see Shinn's face and it is
- 6:08Speaker 1: like heavily inked and shadowed, and he's smiling. I guess
- 6:14Speaker 1: he looks like really determined, but like one of his
- 6:16Speaker 1: eyes is more closed than the other, like it's in
- 6:18Speaker 1: mid twitch. And I wrote, this is not the face
- 6:21Speaker 1: of a sane person, Shin. And then we are the opening. Yay.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I'll mention now that there are fifteen people standing in
- 6:28Speaker 1: that red field of spider lilies. Now Yay, that's a
- 6:32Speaker 1: lot of them. Awesome. Anyway, back from the opening, we
- 6:38Speaker 1: got to a box. It's like a file type box
- 6:41Speaker 1: that says first UTV Squadron spearhead and it says rev
- 6:47Speaker 1: dots ten through and one, but we can't see the
- 6:50Speaker 1: rest of it, so it's ten through something. It's on
- 6:53Speaker 1: a table and there are some like folders or books
- 6:56Speaker 1: next to it, and I think we're in a library
- 6:59Speaker 1: because there's like and stuff in the background, and we
- 7:02Speaker 1: see Lena's hands setting a bunch of books on top
- 7:05Speaker 1: of that, and they all say first UTV Squadron spearhead
- 7:08Speaker 1: and they all have different rev numbers, like eighteen thirteen.
- 7:11Speaker 1: You know, like there's been a lot of versions of
- 7:14Speaker 1: this squadron is what we're trying to show you. Yeah, Anyway,
- 7:19Speaker 1: she starts to sit down, and then we cut to
- 7:21Speaker 1: her sitting in the control room and we hear sh'dn't
- 7:23Speaker 1: say we're going to be wiped out. She is listening,
- 7:28Speaker 1: wide eyed in shock. She continues, this unit is an
- 7:32Speaker 1: execution ground. Lena gasps, and then we cut back to
- 7:35Speaker 1: the library. One of the files is open in front
- 7:38Speaker 1: of her, and I took a screenshot of it. I'm
- 7:41Speaker 1: so fucking pissed off because my new computer and Chrome
- 7:46Speaker 1: and the side I was watching this on all decided
- 7:49Speaker 1: that they didn't want to let me screenshot anymore. So
- 7:52Speaker 1: when I screenshot it, I just get a black image.
- 7:55Speaker 1: And I didn't realize until I was about to try
- 7:57Speaker 1: to record this yesterday, so I took a picture sure
- 8:00Speaker 1: of it on my phone so that I can tell
- 8:02Speaker 1: you what the file says. But it's really blurry, so
- 8:04Speaker 1: it's going to be hard. So it says Republic of
- 8:09Speaker 1: San Magnolia Armed Forces, June nineteenth, twenty one forty three,
- 8:14Speaker 1: so this was a while ago. It's from Headquarter of
- 8:18Speaker 1: first Division, first UTV Army Corps, Eastern Army two, first
- 8:23Speaker 1: UTV Squadron spearhead rev one dot zero dot oh like
- 8:29Speaker 1: V three, it's hard to tell. And then it says something,
- 8:32Speaker 1: then a word that I can't read, Extended reconnaissance mission
- 8:37Speaker 1: to the something part oh to the deepest part of
- 8:40Speaker 1: Legion Hell territory. Then there's one and it says reconnaissance
- 8:45Speaker 1: target for this possible point within combat District one. Mission
- 8:51Speaker 1: duration unlimited. Any retreat will be treated as desertion synchronization target.
- 8:58Speaker 1: And then I can't read it because there's a big
- 9:00Speaker 1: thing that says completed over it. But under the completed
- 9:03Speaker 1: I can read a little more, and it says, your
- 9:06Speaker 1: unit is to ensure that it carries approximately one month's
- 9:09Speaker 1: worth of supplies. No support from HQ or other units
- 9:13Speaker 1: will be allowed for this mission. Yeah, so they're not
- 9:18Speaker 1: allowed to go home. It's just like you just go,
- 9:21Speaker 1: just go, and we'll give you like a month's worth
- 9:23Speaker 1: of food and then hopefully you don't die. But I
- 9:25Speaker 1: guess you're gonna die because you can't come back, or
- 9:28Speaker 1: we'll kill you. Great, great, great anyway, so that's what
- 9:32Speaker 1: it says. Anyway. Lena, who's looking at it, says special
- 9:36Speaker 1: orders target deepest part of Legion Health Territory. Mission duration unlimited,
- 9:44Speaker 1: no support. She gasps, immediate execution in the event of retreat.
- 9:50Speaker 1: She has like tons of these folders open and they
- 9:52Speaker 1: all have similar orders, and they're all marked with a
- 9:55Speaker 1: big red stamp that says complete. So all these people
- 9:58Speaker 1: are dead. Not that we didn't you know that we
- 10:01Speaker 1: hear R. I didn't say. The point is to make
- 10:03Speaker 1: the soldiers fight until they die. We'll all die here.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Lena is looking down and her hair's over her eyes
- 10:11Speaker 1: and so we can't like really see them, but her
- 10:14Speaker 1: fists are like really tight and shaking. She takes a
- 10:17Speaker 1: breath and she kind of lowers her head. It looks
- 10:20Speaker 1: like she's about to bash her head into the table,
- 10:23Speaker 1: and we cut away. We cut to a net opening
- 10:26Speaker 1: the door some door, not the normal office door, like
- 10:29Speaker 1: a house door, I guess, and we can see on
- 10:32Speaker 1: the other side of the door there's someone who's obscured.
- 10:35Speaker 1: We can kind of see their shoulder and it's definitely Lena
- 10:37Speaker 1: standing there, and Annette says, what's wrong, Lena. Lena has
- 10:42Speaker 1: her hand over her face and her eyes are closed
- 10:44Speaker 1: and it's nights and yeah, I think we're like at
- 10:46Speaker 1: Anett's house or something. And Lena takes her hand down
- 10:49Speaker 1: from her face and she just looks so incredibly sadly
- 10:52Speaker 1: in a net. She is holding her cap in her
- 10:55Speaker 1: right hand and it's shaking, and a net kind of size.
- 11:00Speaker 1: August twenty eighth, twenty one forty eight. So the next
- 11:02Speaker 1: day we got to a plate of cookies and a
- 11:06Speaker 1: hot beverage sitting on a chair. We're kind of like
- 11:08Speaker 1: behind the chair, so it's obscured by like the backrest
- 11:11Speaker 1: area there where we go, and Annette says it's final
- 11:15Speaker 1: mission with a survival rate of zero percent. Huh. She
- 11:18Speaker 1: sets down another mug and takes a cookie. They're sitting
- 11:22Speaker 1: like on a net's bed, and they just have this
- 11:24Speaker 1: chair pulled up to the bed that they're using as
- 11:26Speaker 1: a table. So I don't know where Anette lives that
- 11:29Speaker 1: she like. I guess that she probably lives with her
- 11:32Speaker 1: parents too or something, because otherwise they would probably sit
- 11:35Speaker 1: at a table, not on her bed in her room.
- 11:37Speaker 1: But whatever, I don't really know anyway, A net continues,
- 11:41Speaker 1: I guess that sounds like this country. Lena turns towards
- 11:44Speaker 1: her and says, please help me. I need to do something.
- 11:48Speaker 1: A Net's like, do something, do what specifically, go on
- 11:53Speaker 1: TV and give a speech, find someone important, look them.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Fuck if that had changed their minds, would it never
- 12:00Speaker 1: happen in the first place. She takes a bite of
- 12:02Speaker 1: the cookie. Lena looks down like she's super ashamed and
- 12:06Speaker 1: like maybe she's gonna cry, and a net continues, give
- 12:10Speaker 1: it up, we can't fix this, Lena winces. A net continues,
- 12:14Speaker 1: nothing we do matter, so just and Lena cuts her off.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Stop it. She pauses for a second. Stop pretending to
- 12:22Speaker 1: be a bad person just so you have an excuse
- 12:23Speaker 1: to do nothing. Annette stands, drop the cookie and it breaks.
- 12:27Speaker 1: She looks fucking pissed off, and she says, you're the
- 12:31Speaker 1: one that needs to stop. Lena gasps a net continues stop.
- 12:37Speaker 1: She puts her hand over her face. I mean it,
- 12:39Speaker 1: there's nothing we can do. We can't do a thing
- 12:42Speaker 1: to save them. She kind of throws her hand down
- 12:44Speaker 1: and turns away from Lena and then walks over to
- 12:46Speaker 1: the window. Lena says Annette. Annette points at the house
- 12:52Speaker 1: next door because she's out like looking out a side window,
- 12:55Speaker 1: so she's seeing the side window of the next doorhouse
- 12:58Speaker 1: because they're close together. You know that works, And she says,
- 13:01Speaker 1: our next door neighbors were scientists on my dad's research team.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Our families were close, but that all changed when the
- 13:07Speaker 1: war started. Lana gasps again. Annett's face warps into a
- 13:11Speaker 1: smile and kind of like Shin's, one eye has opened
- 13:14Speaker 1: slightly more than the other eye. It doesn't look super good,
- 13:17Speaker 1: and she continues, they were eighty six. Lana gasps again,
- 13:21Speaker 1: but this time it's a bigger gasp and Anette continues.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Two boys. The older brother was like way older, but
- 13:28Speaker 1: the younger brother was my age. We went to the
- 13:30Speaker 1: same school and we played a lot. We were friends.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Lena makes a really small gasp. She gasps so much.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Annette continues, But the next thing I knew all the
- 13:40Speaker 1: eighties six stopped coming to school, and my classmates were
- 13:43Speaker 1: bullying me. They said I was friends with a filthy
- 13:45Speaker 1: colored Lena looks away. Annette makes a fist. She's still
- 13:49Speaker 1: staring at the window. She continues, It hurt, but there
- 13:53Speaker 1: wasn't anything I could do. He didn't know anything about it,
- 13:55Speaker 1: and he still wanted to play. I turned him down
- 13:58Speaker 1: and we got into a fight. We see a discarded
- 14:01Speaker 1: ball and bike laying in the grass outside, and then
- 14:04Speaker 1: we get kind of an orange shot of I guess
- 14:07Speaker 1: the past, where a small, dark haired boy is standing
- 14:12Speaker 1: in that same area of the yard holding a ball,
- 14:15Speaker 1: looking up at a net's window. We can't really see
- 14:18Speaker 1: all of his face though, but it's, you know, definitely
- 14:20Speaker 1: a young boy. And then that continues and I said it.
- 14:25Speaker 1: We see a tiny neet looking out the window who
- 14:27Speaker 1: looks exactly the same as she does now, except younger,
- 14:30Speaker 1: but like perfectly the same, like, the same haircut and everything,
- 14:34Speaker 1: and small, Annette says, you filthy colored. The kid lowers
- 14:39Speaker 1: the ball slightly like oh. And Annette looks terrified by
- 14:47Speaker 1: her own words. And we cut back to the now
- 14:50Speaker 1: a net looking out the window. It's the same shot,
- 14:53Speaker 1: and she's considerably taller now, so we don't see her face,
- 14:56Speaker 1: just her body. And she says, I was scared. I
- 15:00Speaker 1: was scared of myself for being capable of saying that.
- 15:04Speaker 1: So when my dad was thinking about taking them in
- 15:06Speaker 1: despite the danger, she sits down at the bottom of
- 15:09Speaker 1: the bed, kind of as far away from Lene as
- 15:10Speaker 1: she can be. I said I didn't want to. I
- 15:14Speaker 1: said he wasn't my friend. I said I wouldn't put
- 15:17Speaker 1: myself in danger for him. Oh my god, a Nette.
- 15:22Speaker 1: We cut to the broken cookie on the floor. I
- 15:25Speaker 1: think my dad wanted my support, but I gave him
- 15:28Speaker 1: a way out. Yeah, Lena looks super upset right now,
- 15:33Speaker 1: and yeah, Lena, me too. Annette continues, there were sons
- 15:38Speaker 1: of the camps the next day. All I could do
- 15:40Speaker 1: was tell myself I couldn't do anything, that there was
- 15:43Speaker 1: never a chance. That's where it's coming from. She is
- 15:48Speaker 1: gripping her scalp with her hands. She says, but you
- 15:52Speaker 1: you always. We can see her face now, but not
- 15:56Speaker 1: her eyes because her glasses are like opaque for some reason.
- 16:00Speaker 1: And she like half laughs and says, listen, Lena, you
- 16:04Speaker 1: may act like a saint, but you're just as guilty
- 16:07Speaker 1: as me, okay, And she is smiling like fucking crazy person.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Lena looks super freaked out again. Understandablelena, she looks terrifying.
- 16:20Speaker 1: At this point, Annette is putting a key into a
- 16:23Speaker 1: door lock and she opens the door and they walk
- 16:26Speaker 1: into this dark room with like a lot of books
- 16:29Speaker 1: and bookshelves and boxes and shit. And Lena says, what
- 16:33Speaker 1: is this place? And that's like the kids next door
- 16:36Speaker 1: and their mother had this strange power. They could tell
- 16:39Speaker 1: what each other felt without even speaking. Hmm. We see
- 16:44Speaker 1: like a corkboard on the wall and there's a kids
- 16:47Speaker 1: drawing of like three kids, and one of them is
- 16:51Speaker 1: definitely a net, like a young tiny Anette, and one
- 16:53Speaker 1: of them is that dark haired boy right, and then
- 16:57Speaker 1: there is an older one with red hair and glasses. Guys.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Also on the board is picture of a net with
- 17:06Speaker 1: her dad like holding her and next to them is
- 17:10Speaker 1: a dark haired adult man, and we see that dark
- 17:14Speaker 1: haired boy, but he's got his back to the camera,
- 17:16Speaker 1: so again we can't see his face. But the dark
- 17:20Speaker 1: haired adult kind of looks a little like Shin. Yeah.
- 17:26Speaker 1: And then also there's just a note on the board
- 17:28Speaker 1: that we can't read because literally it's scribbles, like I
- 17:31Speaker 1: zoomed in and it scribbles. So anyway, and Ned continues,
- 17:36Speaker 1: my dad took interest in that power. She pulls back
- 17:40Speaker 1: a curtain and we see what is a closet that
- 17:43Speaker 1: for some reason doesn't have a door, which just has
- 17:44Speaker 1: a curtain. In the closet is just filled with like
- 17:47Speaker 1: boxes and like weird contraptions in the boxes and stuff
- 17:50Speaker 1: like some of them look normal, like headphones, but some
- 17:53Speaker 1: of them are like, I don't know what this is
- 17:54Speaker 1: supposed to be anyway, and Ned continues. First, first they'd
- 17:58Speaker 1: put on these little toy like devices and they try
- 18:01Speaker 1: to guess what their mom was thinking behind the curtain.
- 18:04Speaker 1: The experiments were like a game. But when the military
- 18:06Speaker 1: found out that there was this new kind of communication
- 18:09Speaker 1: that could replace wireless, they ordered my dad to perfect it,
- 18:13Speaker 1: no matter what the cost and the result. She turns
- 18:16Speaker 1: back to Lena was the raid device you're wearing. Fuck.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Lena looks down and she is holding her hat to
- 18:24Speaker 1: her chest again, and Annette says, how many eighty six
- 18:29Speaker 1: do you think died to make that? What? And Lena says,
- 18:35Speaker 1: what I mean? That's exactly right, Lena, That's exactly what
- 18:38Speaker 1: I said. A net continues, It shares words so like
- 18:43Speaker 1: you can't use animals, right. She walks over to Lena.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Lena says, you don't mean. Annette's eyes like super wide,
- 18:54Speaker 1: and she says, that's right, human experimentation, even though they
- 18:59Speaker 1: said the eighty six aren't human convenient right. Lena looks stressed.
- 19:04Speaker 1: A net continues. All the test subjects were children. Results first, safety, last,
- 19:09Speaker 1: they all died suffering. I go back to that picture
- 19:13Speaker 1: of a net and her dad on the board. She continues,
- 19:16Speaker 1: my dad couldn't take it. He committed suicide, honestly. Good good.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Lana gasps, it wasn't an accident, and that says, you
- 19:26Speaker 1: think my dad, of all people, would screw up the
- 19:28Speaker 1: settings on the power aid. We see a calendar now
- 19:31Speaker 1: that's open to August and September, and all the days
- 19:34Speaker 1: are xed out up to September fourteenth, and I assume
- 19:37Speaker 1: that's when he killed himself. Anyway, A net continues. He
- 19:41Speaker 1: always told me that he'd abandon his friends and caused
- 19:43Speaker 1: so many deaths he deserved to suffer and die more
- 19:46Speaker 1: than anyone, which means I'm just as guilty for abandoning
- 19:49Speaker 1: my friend. Right what, she is smiling by the way,
- 19:54Speaker 1: I took over the research that my dad did victims
- 19:57Speaker 1: and all, okay, maybe you'd do deserve die. I don't know, Annette,
- 20:02Speaker 1: She pauses, undertaker, was it? Lana gasps, and that continues.
- 20:08Speaker 1: We got the request to investigate because of the dead handlers.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Remember Lena's like yeah, And that says if I had
- 20:15Speaker 1: them bring the processor that was the cause. I might
- 20:17Speaker 1: have been able to save him nobody else. But that's
- 20:21Speaker 1: just hypocrisy. I'm glad those shit heads at transport refused.
- 20:25Speaker 1: See nothing we can do. I can't save anyone. But
- 20:30Speaker 1: you're no different. Lena's eyes widen. You're even worse. You
- 20:35Speaker 1: interfered and you kept them alive, and now they're being
- 20:38Speaker 1: ordered to die. We cut to Lena's feet as she
- 20:41Speaker 1: takes a step back and also drops her hat and
- 20:44Speaker 1: bag to the floor, and that continues. If you just
- 20:46Speaker 1: slacked off and let them die. They wouldn't have gotten
- 20:49Speaker 1: that order, and now they will thanks to you. She
- 20:53Speaker 1: points towards Lena. Lena's mouth is just hanging open at
- 20:56Speaker 1: this point, and there's kind of a pause in a
- 20:58Speaker 1: Net's speech, like she's not sure where she's going from here,
- 21:01Speaker 1: and she pulls down her hand and places it on
- 21:04Speaker 1: her chest and says, I hate you, Lena. We cut
- 21:09Speaker 1: to Lena. I guess she's just left Annette's house and
- 21:13Speaker 1: she's walking away, kind of obscured by the railing, and
- 21:16Speaker 1: we hear Annette say I don't ever want to see
- 21:19Speaker 1: you again. Okay, that's the end of the scene, so
- 21:24Speaker 1: we should stop there and just talk about like a
- 21:26Speaker 1: ton of things. First of all, what the fucking Net?
- 21:29Speaker 1: And that is actually a really bad person, because I
- 21:32Speaker 1: thought maybe she's just playing it up. No, you can't
- 21:35Speaker 1: do research on children like horrible experiments and be an
- 21:40Speaker 1: okay person. And I'm glad her dad killed himself. Maybe
- 21:43Speaker 1: she should kill herself too. I'm sorry. I know that
- 21:45Speaker 1: that's mean, and Annette could have some redemption and maybe
- 21:49Speaker 1: she will, but right now I hate her, and I
- 21:52Speaker 1: know that she also hates herself. And the thing where
- 21:56Speaker 1: she's rationalizing it by saying that Lena's just as bad
- 21:59Speaker 1: because she let them get to the point where they
- 22:02Speaker 1: were gonna die the spirit squadron like doesn't make any
- 22:04Speaker 1: sense at all because it's the same outcome either way.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Either she was helping them so they didn't die as quickly,
- 22:10Speaker 1: or she didn't help them so they died faster but
- 22:13Speaker 1: didn't get the order to die like, it's the same
- 22:16Speaker 1: thing in net like, you can say that Lena didn't
- 22:19Speaker 1: make a difference absolutely if they die either way, maybe
- 22:24Speaker 1: she didn't, especially if it's just, you know, several weeks
- 22:27Speaker 1: or something. But she's not torturing children. She does care, Annette,
- 22:34Speaker 1: So I don't think you can say that she is
- 22:36Speaker 1: worse or as bad as you because she's not. And
- 22:39Speaker 1: I know that Annette hates Lena because Lena cares, because
- 22:44Speaker 1: Lena is trying to get her to care. And that's
- 22:47Speaker 1: really scary because if Annette cares, that means she's a
- 22:51Speaker 1: fucking monster. If she doesn't care, she still is. But
- 22:56Speaker 1: maybe she can separate herself. But if she's like, oh,
- 22:58Speaker 1: these are people, they deserve not to be tortured and killed,
- 23:03Speaker 1: then she has to look at herself as fucking terrible,
- 23:09Speaker 1: deplorable human filth. Right, So it just gotta suck to
- 23:15Speaker 1: be around Lena, always trying to save the eighty six,
- 23:17Speaker 1: all this stuff, hanging out with Annette who's doing experiments
- 23:21Speaker 1: on them and killing them. Yeah, it sucks. I would
- 23:24Speaker 1: probably hate being around Lena too if I was fucking
- 23:27Speaker 1: murdering children. I don't know. So yeah, so, I mean
- 23:35Speaker 1: I get it. I don't know. But it was a
- 23:38Speaker 1: really cool scene. And I definitely didn't communicate how strong
- 23:42Speaker 1: of a scene it was, and I really really tried.
- 23:44Speaker 1: I recorded this several times, So whatever version you get
- 23:47Speaker 1: is the best I could do. I'm sorry because I
- 23:50Speaker 1: thought it should be better. Still, but a Netta's piece
- 23:53Speaker 1: of shit is what I'm trying to say. And so
- 23:55Speaker 1: was her dad. And yeah, but I mean, so like
- 24:01Speaker 1: that kid looked like Shin, then that drawing looks like
- 24:04Speaker 1: Ray and Shin, so there might be a connection there.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Let's go back to the story. We got to the
- 24:11Speaker 1: view from Lana's window to the middle of the day,
- 24:14Speaker 1: the sky is blue, and then we see her standing
- 24:17Speaker 1: back of that bus stop that she's always standing at
- 24:19Speaker 1: with all those people looking like real dour, and then
- 24:23Speaker 1: we do this kind of quick cut back to her
- 24:26Speaker 1: standing at the Revolution Party festival thing, looking like super
- 24:29Speaker 1: determined that she's gonna like help them and stuff. Remember,
- 24:32Speaker 1: And then we see a time lapse of the flowers
- 24:35Speaker 1: on her window sill just dying, and we get like
- 24:38Speaker 1: a Lena voiceover that says, I won't let them die.
- 24:41Speaker 1: We see her at the bus stop again, then we
- 24:43Speaker 1: see an empty vase. Then we see new flowers in
- 24:47Speaker 1: the vase and the time laps of them dying, and
- 24:50Speaker 1: we hear Lena say, I won't let anyone else die. Yeah,
- 24:55Speaker 1: back to the bus stop, back to the flowers. We
- 24:58Speaker 1: see her at her desk, bent over with their hands
- 25:00Speaker 1: on her head. It's night. She silently banks her fists
- 25:04Speaker 1: on the desk, and then we see the control room
- 25:07Speaker 1: she walks in and she's taking off her hat and
- 25:11Speaker 1: she gets to her desk and just gasps. Laying on
- 25:14Speaker 1: her desk is a red file with the government seal
- 25:17Speaker 1: on it. Next we see her pushing a door open
- 25:21Speaker 1: and walking through it like super determined, and it is
- 25:24Speaker 1: September tenth, twenty one forty eight, so it's been several days.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Lena walks into the room, which we can't really see
- 25:34Speaker 1: where she is because we're just seeing her walk through
- 25:36Speaker 1: the door. But I was like, I'm pretty sure this
- 25:38Speaker 1: is a church because it has like church pews like
- 25:40Speaker 1: a church does. And the lighte from outside is like
- 25:44Speaker 1: very very orange, like it's either sunrise or sunset, but
- 25:48Speaker 1: inside is very dimly lit. And Carl Stahl is standing
- 25:53Speaker 1: at the front of this room and he's looking at
- 25:56Speaker 1: something and kind of light is falling on him and
- 26:00Speaker 1: he sighs. We get a better view of the area now,
- 26:03Speaker 1: and it's very much a church. And there's a big
- 26:06Speaker 1: statue of that woman that's like everywhere with the sword
- 26:09Speaker 1: in the front, and Carl Stahl is standing by it
- 26:12Speaker 1: and looking directly at it, and it's kind of bathed
- 26:14Speaker 1: in light. And I don't know if the light is
- 26:16Speaker 1: coming from a light above it or like a window,
- 26:21Speaker 1: maybe like a skylight or something. We can't see it.
- 26:24Speaker 1: But also if it was coming from a skylight, it
- 26:26Speaker 1: should be orange because the outside light is orange, so
- 26:28Speaker 1: maybe it's coming from a big light. I don't know. Anyway,
- 26:31Speaker 1: he says, what do you want? He's not facing her,
- 26:35Speaker 1: by the way. Lena raises the file and she says,
- 26:39Speaker 1: let me cancel the special reconn orders given to Spearhead.
- 26:42Speaker 1: We get a good look at the special recon orders,
- 26:46Speaker 1: and I screenshotted this and then found out that it
- 26:48Speaker 1: was also black and I didn't find it when I
- 26:50Speaker 1: was scrubbing through really quick. But it's basically the same
- 26:52Speaker 1: as all of the other recon orders that you know
- 26:55Speaker 1: we read earlier. So that again Carl stall folds his
- 26:59Speaker 1: hands behind his back and he says, I told you
- 27:01Speaker 1: not to get involved. Lena's like, this is insane. Must
- 27:06Speaker 1: we keep marching them into enemy territory till they're dead
- 27:09Speaker 1: for no reason? She had stopped walking at one point,
- 27:12Speaker 1: so she starts to walk towards him again, and Carl
- 27:14Speaker 1: Staal says all of the eighty six needs to die.
- 27:18Speaker 1: What Lena stops walking in and gasps. Carlstak continues, that's
- 27:23Speaker 1: what's best for the country according to the government, and
- 27:26Speaker 1: indirectly it's people. He finally glances back at her. That's
- 27:30Speaker 1: the will of the nation. Lena gasps, like a really
- 27:34Speaker 1: big gasp. Carl Stak continues, if what we've done to
- 27:39Speaker 1: the eighty six gets out at the end of the war,
- 27:42Speaker 1: the Republic will be known as a pariah state and
- 27:44Speaker 1: will be remembered forever as oppressors. And to prevent that
- 27:48Speaker 1: from happening, Lena, who looks super fucking pissed off, says,
- 27:51Speaker 1: and that's why you forbid them from recovering and burying
- 27:53Speaker 1: their dead. Carlstall's like, when they're all dead, they'll cease
- 27:57Speaker 1: to have existed. Lena gasps again. Carlstok continues, and thus
- 28:03Speaker 1: the Republic will have done nothing wrong. Oh God, no,
- 28:08Speaker 1: Lena closes her eyes. Carlstall says, a very small number
- 28:13Speaker 1: know the exact truth, but the vast majority who look
- 28:16Speaker 1: the other way or just don't care, are supporters of this.
- 28:19Speaker 1: He walks towards Lena and then stops next to her.
- 28:22Speaker 1: And our job as the army, Lena, is to follow
- 28:24Speaker 1: the people's wishes. He walks past her. Lena turns towards
- 28:28Speaker 1: him and says, the eighty six are part of the
- 28:31Speaker 1: Republic as well. The Republican ideals that sand Magnolia expounded
- 28:35Speaker 1: should protect them too. If they can't, then how can
- 28:38Speaker 1: that be the will of the Republic. Carl Stahl turns
- 28:42Speaker 1: back and he looks really pissed off, and Lena flinches,
- 28:46Speaker 1: and he says, this country is full of fools and
- 28:49Speaker 1: villains who executed sand Magnolia for the sake of their
- 28:52Speaker 1: own wealth and greed. What can you expect of them?
- 28:56Speaker 1: Lena gasps. Carlstaal says humans are not ready to have
- 29:00Speaker 1: freedom in equality, and I don't think we ever will be.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Lena's like, you're just saying that to justify your despair.
- 29:07Speaker 1: It's wrong to sit back and let this happen. Carlstall's like,
- 29:11Speaker 1: you're free to speak of your hopes and ideals, but
- 29:13Speaker 1: that's not gonna persuade anyone. He starts to walk again.
- 29:17Speaker 1: That's why you came to me, right Lena looks shocked,
- 29:20Speaker 1: but that is why she came to him. Carlstall says,
- 29:23Speaker 1: hope in despair are the same thing. Lena scoffs. Carlsta continues,
- 29:27Speaker 1: you want something and you can't have it. It's just
- 29:30Speaker 1: two different names for two sides of the same thing.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Lena winces, and she holds the folder like tightly to
- 29:37Speaker 1: her chest, and we hear the door open and then shut,
- 29:40Speaker 1: and she's alone. She just kind of collapses to the floor.
- 29:46Speaker 1: We hear say, Captain Nosen, I have a set of
- 29:49Speaker 1: special recon orders. We hear shouldn't say I've received them.
- 29:55Speaker 1: There's this kind of like weird background sound that we're hearing,
- 30:00Speaker 1: and Lena says, I'm so sorry. I couldn't do anything.
- 30:07Speaker 1: We finally cut to the scene that this is from,
- 30:09Speaker 1: and it's rain. She is sitting at her desk. It's
- 30:14Speaker 1: night and it's raining like super hard outside, and we're
- 30:17Speaker 1: kind of watching her from outside the window, so we're
- 30:20Speaker 1: seeing like car lights like reflected in the window too,
- 30:24Speaker 1: like as cars drive past. It's pretty nice anyway. She says,
- 30:28Speaker 1: there's no need to obey these ridiculous orders. Run Away,
- 30:33Speaker 1: Sin says, to where Lena kind of gasps, kind of
- 30:38Speaker 1: like chokes on her breath, and she continues, everyone dies someday.
- 30:44Speaker 1: You can't blame someone just because that day came a
- 30:46Speaker 1: little early. I think it's a lot early, but okay,
- 30:50Speaker 1: Lena's like, why do you always just accept it? You're
- 30:54Speaker 1: losing your future, your wishes, even your life. Why don't
- 30:58Speaker 1: you hate us? How is that possible? She puts her
- 31:02Speaker 1: hands on her head and she's like bent over the desk,
- 31:04Speaker 1: and Sen says, major, We're not going to die, liar
- 31:10Speaker 1: Lena sits up. Shin continues, We're finally following the path
- 31:14Speaker 1: we wanted to follow to the place we wanted to go.
- 31:17Speaker 1: We can finally be free. Lena's just shaking her head.
- 31:20Speaker 1: No the whole time, Shin continues, I prefer you didn't
- 31:23Speaker 1: disparage that. Lena folds her hands like she's praying and says, then,
- 31:29Speaker 1: at least don't fight anymore. Shin says, I have to.
- 31:34Speaker 1: We need to fight to go forward. We hear this
- 31:37Speaker 1: like weird ting sound, and Lena's eyes widened, and she remembers,
- 31:41Speaker 1: like the gravestone at that like cemetery memorial place when
- 31:45Speaker 1: she was talking h In, where like the moonlight reflected
- 31:48Speaker 1: on it really quickly. I guess it was interesting visual
- 31:52Speaker 1: cue to show that she was remembering their conversation, I think,
- 31:56Speaker 1: and Shin says, we've known from the start. Lena is
- 31:59Speaker 1: now looking at the tiny Shin face on her board.
- 32:03Speaker 1: She thinks for a second and says, to kill your
- 32:05Speaker 1: brother right. Shin clears his throat and size, why'd you
- 32:10Speaker 1: have to realize that? Lena's like, I can tell you're sad,
- 32:16Speaker 1: but you still laugh coldly when you talk about your brother.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Oh my god, I was wrong. She totally hets it.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Don't fight please, even if he's part of the Legion,
- 32:24Speaker 1: you can't fight your brother. She's looking out the window
- 32:27Speaker 1: and the clouds are starting to part and you can
- 32:29Speaker 1: see like a crescent moon off in the sky. And
- 32:32Speaker 1: Shin says, my brother is a shepherd. I can't go
- 32:36Speaker 1: anywhere without killing him. Lena's like, Captain, Shin says, Major
- 32:41Speaker 1: Lena's eyes widen. Shin continues, there's no need to monitor
- 32:45Speaker 1: us anymore. Lena stands quickly, like so quickly that she
- 32:49Speaker 1: knocks over her chair, and she says, does that mean
- 32:52Speaker 1: Shin cuts her off and says, I don't want you
- 32:55Speaker 1: to hear my brother's last words, so please don't contact
- 32:58Speaker 1: us again. Fuck. Lena sits back down, but like on
- 33:03Speaker 1: the floor because her chair's knocked over, and she just
- 33:06Speaker 1: like slumps over, like destroyed. And Shin says, go past
- 33:11Speaker 1: the Eastern border, and you'll no longer hear the Legion's voices.
- 33:14Speaker 1: If anyone's left alive, that might be where you can
- 33:17Speaker 1: get help. Lena's like what Shin continues. When a shepherd dies,
- 33:22Speaker 1: it throws the Legion into chaos for a while. We
- 33:25Speaker 1: can buy you that much time, so Lena says Captain Nosen.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Shin continues survive until then Lena gasps and stands, and
- 33:36Speaker 1: the light on her paroid fades and she's just standing
- 33:39Speaker 1: there in silence. The rain is just super loud on
- 33:43Speaker 1: her window, and tears are starting to form in her
- 33:46Speaker 1: eyes and they kind of widen, and then she closes them,
- 33:49Speaker 1: and as she does, we go to black and the
- 33:52Speaker 1: title card Episode eight. Let's go, Okay, so let's pause
- 33:57Speaker 1: there because I kind of want to talk about this
- 33:58Speaker 1: a little bit. So I think Shin was saying that
- 34:02Speaker 1: Lena may need to escape, right and giving her directions
- 34:07Speaker 1: on where to go to get help. I think that
- 34:09Speaker 1: it was a little bit unclear to me. But yeah,
- 34:14Speaker 1: so that's all bad. And like I kind of mentioned
- 34:18Speaker 1: a couple of minutes ago, I guess Lena does kind
- 34:21Speaker 1: of get it that there's some weird thing between Shin
- 34:26Speaker 1: and his brother, you know, so it's nice to know
- 34:29Speaker 1: that she is paying a little bit of attention to him. Yeah,
- 34:33Speaker 1: all right, So back from the title card, we see
- 34:38Speaker 1: what is probably that hangar. There's like some metal like above,
- 34:43Speaker 1: like maybe it's a doorframe or something, because there's nothing
- 34:46Speaker 1: below it, so like a doorframe, and the sky is gray,
- 34:52Speaker 1: and we see that it is September twenty seventh, twenty
- 34:56Speaker 1: one forty eight, so seventeen days later. So anyway, the
- 35:00Speaker 1: sky is gray and it's raining, and there is like
- 35:02Speaker 1: maybe a blimp in the distance or something, and we
- 35:05Speaker 1: see Shin walking kind of past this area. So it's
- 35:09Speaker 1: definitely the entrance to the hangar, and there are juggernauts
- 35:12Speaker 1: inside and supplies and stuff, and everything is quiet except
- 35:16Speaker 1: for the rain. We panned to Aldrich, that guy that
- 35:20Speaker 1: does kind of the mechanic stuff that we haven't seen
- 35:24Speaker 1: in a while, and he says, provisions, fuel, AMMO, and
- 35:27Speaker 1: spare parts are all packed. I also packed some extra
- 35:30Speaker 1: spare legs for a certain idiot commander. Sin's like, thank you.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Aldrich says, you can do simple repairs yourself, right. Shin's like, yeah,
- 35:40Speaker 1: I break them a lot. Aldrich says, at least act
- 35:44Speaker 1: a little ashamed bratt. Don't fight like you usually do.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Shinn says, I can't promise that. Aldrich is like, it's
- 35:52Speaker 1: the last time, so just lying agree with me. Shin says,
- 35:56Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Aldrich says, geez kind of puts his on
- 36:00Speaker 1: the bridge of his nose. You really are, He pats
- 36:03Speaker 1: him on the shoulder. We cut to that board that
- 36:07Speaker 1: Kujo wrote one hundred and twenty nine days to land
- 36:10Speaker 1: my service fucking Glory to the Spearhite Squadron, which is
- 36:14Speaker 1: particularly upsetting now that we know that he was just
- 36:16Speaker 1: counting down the days till he died, so it wasn't
- 36:20Speaker 1: like a hopeful thing. It was just kind of a joke.
- 36:22Speaker 1: I kind of like that though, So fucking glory to
- 36:25Speaker 1: the Spearhead Squadron. Anyway, it's partially erase, but it's still visible.
- 36:31Speaker 1: We see various juggernauts, you know, in the place getting ready.
- 36:36Speaker 1: They have faded insignias. So we see like Shins laughing Fox,
- 36:40Speaker 1: We see gun Slinger, and then we see that box
- 36:44Speaker 1: love scrap Metal with everyone's names on it open and
- 36:47Speaker 1: Shin is holding one that says hot a toe on it.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Fuck They off screened him, and Riding is standing next
- 36:55Speaker 1: to him and he says, I feel bad for hot
- 36:58Speaker 1: to Toe me too. If he just lasted a little longer,
- 37:01Speaker 1: he could have gone on a fun hike. Shin puts
- 37:05Speaker 1: Hotwitoe's name in the box and says, yeah, At this point,
- 37:08Speaker 1: THEO and AJUW walk over, and THEO says, think the
- 37:12Speaker 1: rainal stop. Karina is walking into and AJUW says it'd
- 37:16Speaker 1: be nice to have clear skies at least for the
- 37:18Speaker 1: first day. Karina is like, I know a trick Kaye
- 37:23Speaker 1: used to do it. Shin shuts the box and we
- 37:26Speaker 1: hear Aldrich say, hey, kids, come over here. He's standing
- 37:30Speaker 1: by the entrance, and they all look over and kind
- 37:32Speaker 1: of like sigh or smile or chuckle. And then I
- 37:36Speaker 1: realized that that's all of them. It's just five of them.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Shin Ride and THEO, Karina, and AJUW, which is super sad. Anyway,
- 37:49Speaker 1: Ryding says now that it's the last time, I realize
- 37:52Speaker 1: I'm gonna miss the old guy's lectures. And everyone's like,
- 37:55Speaker 1: for real and they laugh. We cut too. I guess
- 38:00Speaker 1: flower pots just filled with rain water and it's raining, obviously,
- 38:04Speaker 1: and the cat is sitting by it's like empty bowls
- 38:07Speaker 1: in that kind of kitchen area, and Andrew picks it
- 38:10Speaker 1: up and smiles. Karina is cleaning a window in her
- 38:14Speaker 1: bedroom and she looks out smiling, and then we see
- 38:19Speaker 1: like these ghosties. I don't know if you know what
- 38:22Speaker 1: ghosties are. It's like a like a piece of white fabric,
- 38:25Speaker 1: and then you get like like a little head made
- 38:28Speaker 1: out of styrofoam, like a little white ball, styrofoam ball.
- 38:32Speaker 1: And then you put the fabric on the styrophone ball
- 38:35Speaker 1: and you like tie it so it looks like a
- 38:36Speaker 1: little ghost like because you know, it's got like a head,
- 38:40Speaker 1: and then the fabric just hangs down like a ghost
- 38:42Speaker 1: or like a sheet over you know, like a ghost
- 38:45Speaker 1: or something. So they made these little ghosties that all
- 38:48Speaker 1: have their little faces on them, all five of them.
- 38:51Speaker 1: So we see those, and then we see Theo painting
- 38:55Speaker 1: something in the hangar, and then we realize that it's
- 38:57Speaker 1: his insignia. He's fixing it. Ryde In throws a rock
- 39:01Speaker 1: at the mural of Saint Magnolia and gets her right
- 39:05Speaker 1: in the forehead, and he like pumps his fist and excitement.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Then we see Shin in that common room that's just
- 39:12Speaker 1: totally empty now and he puts something in the desk
- 39:15Speaker 1: drawer and shots it. He stares at the room and
- 39:18Speaker 1: then smiles and walks out. We get an outside shot
- 39:23Speaker 1: of the barracks. Now it's night, and we see the
- 39:26Speaker 1: last light turn off, and the scene fades to black.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Back from black, we have a low shot of those
- 39:33Speaker 1: train tracks and the sun is coming up and we
- 39:36Speaker 1: see a table with like lots of trays of food
- 39:39Speaker 1: on it. So there's like coffee and bread and beans
- 39:41Speaker 1: and fruits that I couldn't figure out what they were,
- 39:44Speaker 1: but also apples and corn, potatoes, a stew or soup
- 39:47Speaker 1: of some kind, fried eggs, and broccoli and carrots. So
- 39:51Speaker 1: it's like a really nice last meal, I guess. And
- 39:56Speaker 1: everyone says eat the taki masu, which means like it's
- 40:01Speaker 1: just the thing that you say before you eat, and
- 40:02Speaker 1: it's translated to like, let's eat or something. It is
- 40:06Speaker 1: September twenty eighth, twenty one forty eight, so the next day,
- 40:10Speaker 1: and they are all sitting at a table in the
- 40:13Speaker 1: dining area, surrounded by other tables, lots of them that
- 40:18Speaker 1: are all totally empty now, and Karina says, weather here
- 40:22Speaker 1: on the first day, right, Theo's like, you mean the
- 40:25Speaker 1: day we were all assigned here, Karina says, yep. Riding's
- 40:29Speaker 1: like yeah, we all swore to each other again. At
- 40:32Speaker 1: this the scene kind of changes and we see all
- 40:35Speaker 1: of the dead members of spearhead squadron. They kind of
- 40:38Speaker 1: like fade back into their places in the dining area,
- 40:43Speaker 1: so around them. So if the dining area is full now,
- 40:46Speaker 1: and Andrew says, no matter who calls us pigs, we'll
- 40:50Speaker 1: never let ourselves become them. And Karina is like, even
- 40:53Speaker 1: if we're the last one, we'll fight until the last day. Right,
- 40:57Speaker 1: and says, and all five of us are not bad.
- 41:01Speaker 1: We got to a pile of empty trays and mugs
- 41:05Speaker 1: that have been washed, sitting out on the counter to dry,
- 41:08Speaker 1: and THEO says, the major never did call back. What
- 41:11Speaker 1: the fuck, Lena, It's been like weeks and you haven't
- 41:15Speaker 1: called them. What the fuck? I know that Chin said
- 41:18Speaker 1: not to call anymore, but you should have still called. Anyway.
- 41:23Speaker 1: They're walking down the hall and ride And says, what
- 41:26Speaker 1: you miss her? THEO says, not at all. He puts
- 41:29Speaker 1: his hands on the back of his neck. I guess
- 41:31Speaker 1: it does kind of bug me though, and Auji's like,
- 41:35Speaker 1: after all the time we spent together, she could have
- 41:38Speaker 1: said goodbye, Yeah, Lena, what are you doing. Theo's like, yeah,
- 41:42Speaker 1: like that exactly. Carna says, we told her a million
- 41:47Speaker 1: times to leave us alone, and she finally got the messages. All.
- 41:50Speaker 1: They're walking out of the barracks now and it is
- 41:52Speaker 1: a like beautiful day. The ground is soaked from the rain,
- 41:56Speaker 1: but the skies are clear and I think the sun's
- 41:58Speaker 1: coming up. And Karina is like clear skies, and are
- 42:03Speaker 1: says the trick worked. Huh. Right In's like it's a
- 42:06Speaker 1: good omen. Karna looks to the side and gasps and
- 42:09Speaker 1: points and she's like, look, look, they're all shiny. The
- 42:13Speaker 1: juggernauts are all lined up outside and they're sparkly clean,
- 42:17Speaker 1: which is super nice. I guess it's good to have
- 42:20Speaker 1: clean robots when you go die, I guess. And THEO says,
- 42:25Speaker 1: I fixed up the marks too, Oh we did. Everyone's right.
- 42:29Speaker 1: In looks over at Fido and says, you're all nice
- 42:31Speaker 1: and clean too. Fido beeps and nods, and Andrew's like
- 42:35Speaker 1: how cool. And Fido beeps again and nods, and Theo's
- 42:39Speaker 1: like he's happy. Fido makes like a different beep now
- 42:43Speaker 1: that I don't know what that means, and Carna says
- 42:45Speaker 1: he was filthy. Fido beeps different again and lowers his
- 42:50Speaker 1: head in shame, and Shin is like, I'm happy for you. Fido,
- 42:54Speaker 1: immediately looks over, and then he and the other robots,
- 42:57Speaker 1: because there's other robots, they all do this. It's like
- 43:00Speaker 1: weird little dance with their legs like they're excited because
- 43:03Speaker 1: he was happy that Shin was happy for him, which
- 43:07Speaker 1: is very cute and confusing. The cat is also there
- 43:11Speaker 1: and at meows at Fido, and Fido waves to it,
- 43:14Speaker 1: because Fido is sentient, apparently, And then we cut to
- 43:18Speaker 1: boxes of candy on all the seats of the Juggernauts
- 43:21Speaker 1: and everyone's looking and right and it's like, what's this
- 43:25Speaker 1: and Karina says snacks. An Theo's like is this And
- 43:29Speaker 1: they look over and they see that the crew that
- 43:31Speaker 1: works on the Juggernauts and everything he is like standing
- 43:34Speaker 1: like a little ways away and kind of waving to them.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Ride In sighs and he's like he treated us like
- 43:40Speaker 1: kids till the end, and they all wave back to them,
- 43:43Speaker 1: except for Shin. At this point, they're all in their
- 43:45Speaker 1: cockpits and they close and the Juggernauts start to get
- 43:49Speaker 1: up and write and says, no one forgot anything, right,
- 43:53Speaker 1: Karina and Theo and Anju all say no and rite
- 43:56Speaker 1: and says Shin. Shin is quiet for a second, and
- 43:59Speaker 1: he says, let's go, and there's a title drop. Yay,
- 44:03Speaker 1: I remembered. At this point, they move out and Fido
- 44:08Speaker 1: and some of the other robot things are coming, and
- 44:09Speaker 1: the other robot things like kind of look like big
- 44:12Speaker 1: metal boxes with feet. They're kind of the same size
- 44:14Speaker 1: as Fido, but they don't really look like him because
- 44:16Speaker 1: they're not all orange. Anyway, As they are moving out,
- 44:20Speaker 1: we cut to the bench that Chin used to read on,
- 44:23Speaker 1: and then we fade to his empty room and then
- 44:25Speaker 1: to the hallway, then to the empty dining area and
- 44:28Speaker 1: the empty common space. Then we see those ghosties which
- 44:32Speaker 1: they've hung over the doorframe, and we cut to the
- 44:35Speaker 1: train tracks. The Juggernauts are just barely visible walking off
- 44:40Speaker 1: into the distance. At this point, the ending theme starts playing,
- 44:44Speaker 1: which is hands up to the sky, so it's the
- 44:46Speaker 1: special ending theme, and we cut to the one hundred
- 44:51Speaker 1: and twenty nine days Till I End my service board,
- 44:53Speaker 1: which is now completely cleaned off, and then we go
- 44:56Speaker 1: to the ending theme, which we just started anyway, which
- 44:58Speaker 1: is at board insane with this little pinpoint of red
- 45:03Speaker 1: shining light off in the top right corner of it,
- 45:06Speaker 1: back from the ed. We cut to a black screen
- 45:09Speaker 1: with a little red circle at the bottom right corner.
- 45:13Speaker 1: It's kind of like pulsing. That's like a circle around
- 45:16Speaker 1: the circle that's moving, if that makes sense, almost like
- 45:19Speaker 1: it's loading. And then we see hands raised up to
- 45:22Speaker 1: the sky first person perspective. The sky is gray and
- 45:27Speaker 1: it's snowing, and the hands are just covered in blood.
- 45:31Speaker 1: We hear our voice that is sort of robotic but
- 45:34Speaker 1: not completely say I wanted to protect you. The focus
- 45:39Speaker 1: of the person staring at their bloody hands is kind
- 45:43Speaker 1: of fading in and out, like they might be about
- 45:46Speaker 1: to lose consciousness. And we come out of first person
- 45:49Speaker 1: perspective and the person with his bloody hands raised is Ray,
- 45:53Speaker 1: sitting in his cockpit. His face is covered in blood too,
- 45:57Speaker 1: and he totally has a head even though I'm pretty
- 45:59Speaker 1: sure this is where Shin found him. He's looking longingly
- 46:03Speaker 1: at the sky and his arms still outstretched or shaking,
- 46:09Speaker 1: and we hear him say that's how it was supposed
- 46:11Speaker 1: to be, but Shin. We cut back to first person
- 46:16Speaker 1: perspective and he's in that same position with his hands outstretched,
- 46:20Speaker 1: but now he's holding Shin up as a child. Shin
- 46:23Speaker 1: is smiling back at him, and the sky is bright blue.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Then we cut to black. Okay, So before I continue
- 46:29Speaker 1: with this part, I just want to say, at some
- 46:31Speaker 1: point it's going to be Ray talking and then also
- 46:34Speaker 1: Ray talking, but one of them is taking place in
- 46:38Speaker 1: this flashback, and the other one is him thinking about
- 46:41Speaker 1: what he should have done differently. So I'm just going
- 46:43Speaker 1: to try to portray them differently so that you know,
- 46:46Speaker 1: because if I keep saying back and forth and then
- 46:48Speaker 1: he said this, but then the thing, it's gonna sound
- 46:50Speaker 1: really weird, if that makes sense. So I hope that
- 46:53Speaker 1: you understand what I'm doing. And if you didn't, just
- 46:55Speaker 1: understand what I said, I don't know how to fix it.
- 46:57Speaker 1: Help help help. Anyway, continue The next thing we see
- 47:02Speaker 1: is a bedroom, maybe bathed in red, and it looks
- 47:07Speaker 1: like maybe they're in an attic because the scene is
- 47:09Speaker 1: split in half by I don't know, like a rafter
- 47:12Speaker 1: or something, and you'd think that the characters would be
- 47:15Speaker 1: split onto either side of the rafter, but they're actually not.
- 47:18Speaker 1: They're contained on one side. So it's just a really
- 47:20Speaker 1: interesting artistic choice. So anyway, Ray is sitting on the bed.
- 47:25Speaker 1: He's staring at some papers, and Shin is standing in
- 47:28Speaker 1: front of him as a child, obviously, and we can't
- 47:31Speaker 1: see Ray's eyes. But I don't think this is a
- 47:34Speaker 1: good thing, And Shen says, brother, are mom and dad
- 47:38Speaker 1: not coming back? Why he's kind of nudging Ray. It's
- 47:43Speaker 1: kind of making Ray kind of like sway back and forth,
- 47:46Speaker 1: but like he's not present in the moment, like he's
- 47:49Speaker 1: not paying attention to what Chin's doing at all. And
- 47:54Speaker 1: Shinn says, I can't hear mom's voice. Fuck, Okay, that
- 47:59Speaker 1: was definitely Shin as a kid with the experiments and stuff. Anyway,
- 48:02Speaker 1: we hear Ray say I could barely keep myself together
- 48:06Speaker 1: back Then we cut to the paper and says requisition order.
- 48:11Speaker 1: The following items are to be requisitioned for use by
- 48:13Speaker 1: the Republic Armed Forces, remain on standby in your current state.
- 48:17Speaker 1: I don't get this order at all. I was gonna
- 48:20Speaker 1: like look it up in the light novel, but I
- 48:22Speaker 1: forgot too. So maybe I'll put that in here, or
- 48:24Speaker 1: maybe I won't when I check, because I'm pretty sure
- 48:27Speaker 1: this is them telling him he's going off to die,
- 48:30Speaker 1: and it's future me checking in just to tell you that, yes,
- 48:32Speaker 1: I was right, he's being conscripted into the army bye,
- 48:36Speaker 1: and Shin is still nudging him by the way as
- 48:39Speaker 1: he's looking at his basically death order, and he says, hey, brother,
- 48:44Speaker 1: why mom die? And also Shin is like, doesn't sound sad,
- 48:49Speaker 1: He's just curious this whole time. And at this point,
- 48:52Speaker 1: Ray just fucking snaps and like instinctively just thrusts his
- 48:57Speaker 1: hands around Shin's neck and like throws him to the floor.
- 49:00Speaker 1: And Shit is like desperately trying to pull Ray's hands
- 49:03Speaker 1: off of him. But Ray is almost an adult and
- 49:06Speaker 1: Shit is a tiny child. And Ray says, it's all
- 49:08Speaker 1: your fault. That's not true. Mom with the fight because
- 49:12Speaker 1: of you. The papers have fallen to the floor now
- 49:16Speaker 1: and we see that one of them says casualty notification
- 49:20Speaker 1: E zero two to two DASH two three zero seven
- 49:24Speaker 1: seven destroyed, Like it just says destroyed. And it doesn't
- 49:27Speaker 1: have her name, it just has this number. What the
- 49:29Speaker 1: fuck anyway, Ray says that's not true. Shin is whimpering
- 49:35Speaker 1: and Spit is like beginning to run down his face,
- 49:37Speaker 1: and Ray says, you killed her. Stop it. It's your fault.
- 49:42Speaker 1: That's not true. It's all your fault. It's not your fault.
- 49:48Speaker 1: Shin's face is contorting at this point because he's still
- 49:51Speaker 1: being strangled and he like can't breathe, and Ray continues
- 49:54Speaker 1: that mom and dad died, the fact that I'm about
- 49:56Speaker 1: to die, tears are running down Shin's face, it's all
- 50:00Speaker 1: your fault, Shin. Shin is still struggling to remove the
- 50:04Speaker 1: hands from around his neck, and we cut to Ray's face,
- 50:09Speaker 1: which is just twisted with hatred, and honestly, we've seen
- 50:13Speaker 1: this before a couple episodes ago. This is that same
- 50:15Speaker 1: kind of clip that we got from Shin's perspective, and
- 50:20Speaker 1: we're flashing back and forth between Ray and his hatred
- 50:24Speaker 1: and Shin dying and Ray holding happy Shin, just kind
- 50:27Speaker 1: of back and forth. It's really fucked up, and Ray says, I.
- 50:32Speaker 1: At this point, Ray is slammed back against maybe like
- 50:35Speaker 1: a little dresser or night table or something, and he's
- 50:38Speaker 1: kind of out of it for a second, and he
- 50:39Speaker 1: opens his eyes and he sees this old dude like
- 50:42Speaker 1: kneeling over Shin and like pointing at him and saying something,
- 50:46Speaker 1: yelling something, But we don't have audio. Maybe it's too
- 50:50Speaker 1: much for him. Maybe he's still out of it from
- 50:52Speaker 1: being knocked around. Maybe he can't process what's happening. I
- 50:55Speaker 1: don't know, And we hear Ray think I couldn't handle
- 50:59Speaker 1: the hate and rage. I felt it my own powerlessness.
- 51:02Speaker 1: We see Ray looking at what's happening, just with so
- 51:07Speaker 1: much shock on his face, and he thinks, and I
- 51:12Speaker 1: took it out on you. The old guy is like
- 51:15Speaker 1: trying to do CPR on Shin at this point what
- 51:18Speaker 1: looks like he's probably dead, and we see that his
- 51:21Speaker 1: neck is very, very bruised, and Ray continues the person
- 51:26Speaker 1: I was supposed to protect. Ray's eyes widen as I
- 51:30Speaker 1: think he finally understands what's happening and what he's done.
- 51:34Speaker 1: He just looks in abject horror at the situation, and
- 51:38Speaker 1: he stares down at his hands shaking, and there's a
- 51:41Speaker 1: book on the floor near him called The Skull Night, Oh,
- 51:46Speaker 1: and it's fading in and out of focus, and he
- 51:49Speaker 1: just starts to scream, like a long, horrible, intense scream
- 51:55Speaker 1: that gets kind of more hysterical as it continues, like
- 51:58Speaker 1: he doesn't need to breathe, He's just constantly screaming. And
- 52:01Speaker 1: as this is happening, we flash to a drawing on
- 52:04Speaker 1: the wall like a crayon drawing of like Ray with
- 52:08Speaker 1: like a sword in the cap saving Shin from like ghosts. Fuck,
- 52:12Speaker 1: and Ray thinks I couldn't protect you. We cut out
- 52:16Speaker 1: of the ridiculous flashback to his headless nightmark on his
- 52:22Speaker 1: Juggernaut in the snow, and Ray continues. But at this
- 52:26Speaker 1: point a Legion is upon his juggernauts and the Legion
- 52:32Speaker 1: thing raises its arm over Ray and he starts to
- 52:35Speaker 1: cry and he thinks shin and it just comes down
- 52:40Speaker 1: and be cut to black. When the image comes back,
- 52:46Speaker 1: we see a screen looking out at a group of
- 52:49Speaker 1: Legion and there's like data on the screen and stuff,
- 52:52Speaker 1: and we hear Ray say, now we'll be together forever.
- 52:56Speaker 1: What A little screen pops up on the big screen
- 53:01Speaker 1: and it has the positions of the five remaining Spearhead Juggernauts. Great,
- 53:05Speaker 1: and the blue lights come on the Legion guys like
- 53:08Speaker 1: they're getting ready to go, and we hear Ray say,
- 53:12Speaker 1: I'm coming for you without my fragile human body. We
- 53:18Speaker 1: see Legion Ray, which is this big shiny guy with
- 53:22Speaker 1: a big gun, and he thinks, this time, your brother
- 53:26Speaker 1: will protect you forever. What the fuck? Ray? We got
- 53:31Speaker 1: back to his view again and he's zooming in twelve
- 53:33Speaker 1: times to see the Juggernauts approaching. He continues, so we
- 53:38Speaker 1: get this really quick flash of Shin as a happy child.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Come see me, Shin. Thenely cut to I don't even
- 53:45Speaker 1: know how to describe it. It's like his head, like
- 53:48Speaker 1: a shot of his head on a blue background, like
- 53:50Speaker 1: made up of screens, like I think there's like maybe
- 53:52Speaker 1: twenty eight screens making up his kind of face and
- 53:56Speaker 1: the blue behind him, and it's like very much his face,
- 54:00Speaker 1: but like the screens don't move together, so some parts
- 54:02Speaker 1: of his face look really angry and some parts don't
- 54:04Speaker 1: look angry, and he's like talking but he's not really talking,
- 54:07Speaker 1: and it's you know, I don't really know how to
- 54:09Speaker 1: explain it. But it was scary, I think. And then
- 54:12Speaker 1: we go to the next episode title card, goodbye No,
- 54:16Speaker 1: and that's the end of the episode. Yay. Closing thoughts
- 54:21Speaker 1: that felt like a mess. This show is really hard
- 54:24Speaker 1: to narry like this because all of the shots are difficult.
- 54:29Speaker 1: Like it's nice, it's very creatively done, but it's done
- 54:34Speaker 1: in a way that it's just really hard to explain verbally,
- 54:37Speaker 1: at least for me. Maybe not for everyone else, but
- 54:41Speaker 1: definitely for me. So I hope that this was good enough.
- 54:44Speaker 1: I'm very scared that I'm gonna have to record this
- 54:47Speaker 1: again on Wednesday and then like somehow get it out
- 54:51Speaker 1: to you in time. So I hope this was good enough,
- 54:53Speaker 1: but I actually don't think it was, so I'm kind
- 54:54Speaker 1: of freaked out. But anyway, I like this episode. There's
- 54:59Speaker 1: so much much to unpack here, But I guess the
- 55:04Speaker 1: most important thing since we just did it was the
- 55:07Speaker 1: fuck that's going on with Ray or Ray's head, I guess.
- 55:12Speaker 1: So first of all, we know that the voices of
- 55:15Speaker 1: the Legion that Shin hears are basically their last thoughts,
- 55:20Speaker 1: and we know that what Shin heard from his brother
- 55:24Speaker 1: was him telling him it was all his fault and
- 55:27Speaker 1: screaming Shin and stuff. So I think I understand what's
- 55:31Speaker 1: going on. We saw those last seconds of Ray's life,
- 55:35Speaker 1: and what was he doing then. He was thinking about
- 55:38Speaker 1: how he almost killed Shin and thinking about how wrong
- 55:42Speaker 1: he was. So we're getting like the loud parts of
- 55:47Speaker 1: his thoughts, which is him screaming at Shin that it's
- 55:51Speaker 1: all his fault while he's thinking about how it's not
- 55:54Speaker 1: really Shinn's fault because it doesn't make sense that it
- 55:56Speaker 1: would be. But all Shin is getting is that it's
- 55:58Speaker 1: all your fault. She's got to be so fucking scary
- 56:02Speaker 1: for him to just have your brother telling you that
- 56:05Speaker 1: it's your fault that your mom died and your dad
- 56:08Speaker 1: died and he's going to die over and over again.
- 56:11Speaker 1: And because Shin was super young, I'm sure he believed
- 56:15Speaker 1: it and internalized that somehow this is his fault, which
- 56:18Speaker 1: is scary. Like, if Shin really believes that it is
- 56:23Speaker 1: his fault that his mom and dad and everyone died,
- 56:27Speaker 1: I don't know how we're gonna help him, because like
- 56:29Speaker 1: someone's just got to go up to him and like
- 56:31Speaker 1: tell him it's not his fault until he cries or something,
- 56:33Speaker 1: because like that shit fucks you up. When someone you
- 56:38Speaker 1: love tells you that you are the cause of everyone
- 56:41Speaker 1: else's pain, you know, and then strangles you, and then
- 56:44Speaker 1: you still think that they hate you even after they're dead.
- 56:47Speaker 1: It's not good stuff. It's really not good stuff. No.
- 56:51Speaker 1: I mean, I would never strangle someone that I loved,
- 56:54Speaker 1: but I get like the amount of despair that Ray
- 56:59Speaker 1: was in that situation where he strangled Shin where he
- 57:04Speaker 1: just felt so like he had nothing constructive that he
- 57:09Speaker 1: could put that anger towards, and Shin was just there
- 57:12Speaker 1: being an annoying kid, saying I can't hear my mom
- 57:15Speaker 1: anymore in my head, and he just snapped, Yeah, I
- 57:22Speaker 1: don't know. It's a bad situation though, Like I mean,
- 57:25Speaker 1: these people are being genocided. Yeah. I guess he had
- 57:30Speaker 1: a bad reaction to knowing that he was next, you know,
- 57:34Speaker 1: I get it, So Ray is remorseful. Shin doesn't know that.
- 57:37Speaker 1: But also Ray's not really a person anymore, so he's
- 57:40Speaker 1: not really thinking the way a person would think. And
- 57:42Speaker 1: he thinks, oh, I'm going to kill you now, Shin,
- 57:44Speaker 1: so you can become a legion and then we'll be
- 57:46Speaker 1: happy together. Like what the fuck? Ray, That's not a
- 57:49Speaker 1: good plan, I don't think, unless maybe it's really fun
- 57:52Speaker 1: to be a legion. We don't know that, but I
- 57:55Speaker 1: kind of don't think it is, because he's just ahead,
- 57:57Speaker 1: and he's ahead that is made up of little screens
- 58:00Speaker 1: that'll I'll go at the same time, and it's really
- 58:02Speaker 1: really freaky. So yeah, I guess the other thing I
- 58:08Speaker 1: wanted to talk about because I talked about a lot
- 58:10Speaker 1: of things during the episode, thank god. And this is
- 58:14Speaker 1: something that's bothered me forever since I watched this for
- 58:17Speaker 1: the first time. And it's probably not going to bother you,
- 58:20Speaker 1: and that's totally fine, but this is like the hill
- 58:22Speaker 1: I will die on. I guess. I love this show.
- 58:26Speaker 1: I especially like the second half, and I think when
- 58:28Speaker 1: we get there, you'll kind of understand why, I hope.
- 58:31Speaker 1: But the one thing that really bothers me is Shin's
- 58:35Speaker 1: scar because like now we've seen exactly the scenario where
- 58:40Speaker 1: Shin almost died and what the scar is from. You
- 58:45Speaker 1: can't get a scar from being strangled like that, like
- 58:49Speaker 1: if his brother had like clawed at his neck too, maybe,
- 58:53Speaker 1: but there was no bleeding. It was just bruises. So
- 58:56Speaker 1: it doesn't work like that. It's not physically possible. And
- 59:00Speaker 1: trust me, I tried to make it possible. Like I
- 59:04Speaker 1: looked into it so hard when I was first watching
- 59:07Speaker 1: it because I was like, I want this to be
- 59:09Speaker 1: true because I don't want to have to hate this
- 59:11Speaker 1: element of the show, and I couldn't. It's just not
- 59:15Speaker 1: a thing. I mean, horrible things can happen to you
- 59:18Speaker 1: from being strangled. I mean, you can die after being strangled.
- 59:21Speaker 1: Even if you didn't like die then because it's super
- 59:24Speaker 1: dangerous to strangle someone, don't do it. Oh and I've
- 59:27Speaker 1: also researched it for my own comic. But like, you
- 59:31Speaker 1: can't get a giant scar from being strangled. It's not
- 59:34Speaker 1: a thing. And that's always going to really hurt the
- 59:38Speaker 1: way that I feel about the way Shin's character looks,
- 59:42Speaker 1: I guess, and I had kind of touched on this
- 59:45Speaker 1: in the Banana Fish season when I talked about ash
- 59:48Speaker 1: not having scars and how I really like scars, but
- 59:52Speaker 1: they have to make sense, and I definitely talked about
- 59:55Speaker 1: Shin and how a scar doesn't make sense. Oh and
- 59:59Speaker 1: also this this isn't a creative decision on the animator's
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: part or the director's part. This scar was there in
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: the manga, it was there in the late novel, so
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: it's just part of this story, which sucks. Honestly, just
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: doesn't make sense. But I would have loved, and I've
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: thought about this a lot if he didn't have a scar,
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: but he was still wearing a bandana and protecting his
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: neck because he was just really sensitive about his neck, now,
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: which would make sense, and he, you know, just felt
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: like he didn't want to have it exposed because he
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: didn't want the possibility of being heard again, or he
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: was ashamed. I think that would have been so cool
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: if that's what we found out, but that there wasn't
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: an actual scar. It was just all like a mental
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: like hang up, you know, and you know for a
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: while there he would have had like ligature marks or bruises.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: So yeah, it's just I guess it would be cool
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: if looking at his neck, just looking at a normal
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: neck was upsetting to him, But it's it's a scar,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: and a scar doesn't make sense because you can't get
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: scars from being strangled. So there nothing else bothers me,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: just that. That's how you know that I'm insane. Oh god,
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: but that was pretty much all I wanted to talk about.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: And I guess I have to go do this inspection now,
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: and I'm freaked out about it because I don't know
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: it's a good thing, but for some reason, everything feels
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: really bad even though it's totally fine. So I gotta
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: get through that or whatever the fuck. So anyway, I
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: hope that you thought this was okay. If you didn't,
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: I'm sorry that I'm disappointing you. And I will tell
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: you please stick around, but you don't have to. You
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: can always leave and go on to bigger and better things.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: I know it's okay, but if you come back, I mean,
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: I'll see you next time. And I hope you have
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: like a really great whatever, like the best one possible.
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: Yeah later, weeps
