- 0:28Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:32Today I want to talk to you about something that is near and
- 0:35dear to my heart and it actually influences my life quite a bit,
- 0:39much more than most people even know.
- 0:41I do not like talking about gossip.
- 0:44I I don't like gossiping at all. I don't like talking about other
- 0:48people. I have a very hard time, unless
- 0:51it's really truly constructive criticism or figuring out how we
- 0:55can help somebody, I just don't like it.
- 0:59I feel it it that it's it it's so detrimental to my mental
- 1:05well-being. I just won't take it into my
- 1:08world. For this reason, I don't like
- 1:11watching a lot of shows on television for the obvious parts
- 1:15of that we can all pick up on. I have very limited circles of
- 1:20people that I choose to hang out with because most people like to
- 1:23talk about other people and I don't like to do that.
- 1:28So often at parties, I will be the person who is sitting with
- 1:32the dog and that seems counter to who people believe me to be
- 1:37because I'm so outgoing that most people think that and feel
- 1:43like, oh, she can walk in a room and she can talk to anybody.
- 1:45And that is true. But as soon as something happens
- 1:48and they start talking about people in a negative way and I
- 1:53just get like, OK, I'm out because it feels like a drain on
- 1:57my energy. And I know if you're listening
- 1:59to this and you relate to that, then you get it.
- 2:02And if you are listening to this and you're wondering, well, I
- 2:05wonder if I do that, it's really something to look at my friends.
- 2:09Because I have found that it is so much more peaceful and it is
- 2:14so much more productive when you pull yourself out of that realm
- 2:18and you just focus wholly on thinking, what am I doing to
- 2:22lift up myself? What am I doing to lift up
- 2:25others? Now, that doesn't mean you
- 2:27ignore the problems in your world.
- 2:29It doesn't mean that you don't ever talk about people because
- 2:32sometimes you have to in order to help people figure things out
- 2:35or you, you know, have to help somebody go through something
- 2:39and talk about it. But it's when it's a physical
- 2:42drain and you feel it that you have to look at it and say, no,
- 2:45this is just not for me. It's not about avoiding updates
- 2:50with your family. You talk to your aunt.
- 2:52You're like, oh, how's it going with this person or that person?
- 2:54It's not about that. It's about adding negative
- 2:57energy, and that's what I'm talking about.
- 3:01I have found that if you want to grow and you want to put
- 3:04yourself at a different level in the world, you have to change
- 3:07your habits across the board. Doesn't matter if it's, you
- 3:11know, what time you go to bed, what time you get up, what you
- 3:13drink in the morning, what you drink at night, what you talk
- 3:16about, what you read. You have to change all of it if
- 3:20you want to get to where you want to go.
- 3:22And this is probably one of the hardest things that most people
- 3:27suffer from is that they get stuck in this world of talking
- 3:30about other people. And I just feel like it's that
- 3:33old adage that, you know, bees don't have to feel the need to
- 3:40go out and explain to flies why it's better to work on flowers
- 3:44than it is to work on piles of poop.
- 3:46OK. And it's a funny old adage, but
- 3:49it's true. The bees just go and they look
- 3:51for what they have to do. And they're very busy.
- 3:54You know, that's why that whole thing, you know, busy bees get
- 3:56out there and go. They don't focus on anything
- 3:58except the good stuff. They just focus on that.
- 4:01And they don't worry. They don't stop by the piles of
- 4:03poop. So be a bee, don't be a family,
- 4:07and focus on the good stuff. Focus on the things that make
- 4:10you grow. Focus on the things that add
- 4:12sweetness into the world. The bee has so much to teach us
- 4:16in this metaphor, you know, don't focus on the things that
- 4:19smell bad, look bad, taste bad, and don't add value in that way.
- 4:24OK, it's excrement. Let it go.
- 4:27Get rid of it and recognize that there are so many cool things
- 4:32that you open the path for when you do this, when you open your
- 4:37world up in a different way, all of a sudden everything changes.
- 4:41Everything changes because the energy is different.
- 4:45You feel more elated, you feel stronger, you feel more
- 4:49energized, and that's what you're looking for.
- 4:51That's the kind of stuff that you're looking to build on, not
- 4:56the kind of stuff that is petty. Talking about other people just
- 5:01doesn't work. I mean, sure, you know,
- 5:03sometimes you have to say a few things, but you don't have to
- 5:06stay in that energy. It's so unresourceful.
- 5:09It can't be more unresourceful than it is.
- 5:12So hopefully this entices you to look at yourself, put on your
- 5:16wings, go be AB. And I hope you have a blessed
- 5:19day and I will see you tomorrow. Bye.
