Three Million Pages Released—and Millions Still Withheld (6/19/26) · The Epstein Chronicles

0:00
Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
0:03
Epstein Chronicles. Over the past year or so, we've talked
0:08
about pretty much nothing else but Jeffrey Epstein, and while
0:11
that obviously is going to remain the focus, but with
0:14
so much crazy stuff going on in the United States
0:17
and around the world, I think that it's important that
0:19
we touch on some of these other topics. And I
0:22
think that one of the topics that we should definitely
0:24
touch on is the Grooming Gang inquiry that has just
0:27
been released by Rupert Lowe over in the UK. And look,
0:31
I know that there's people out there who have their
0:33
doubts about what this investigation found, but I think it's
0:38
very important that we have all the facts, have all
0:41
the details, and I think it's important that all of
0:44
you have all those details word for word. And that
0:48
report is two hundred and nineteen pages, So we're going
0:50
to dive into it the same way we do with
0:53
all the other core documents, and then, like everything else,
0:57
it'll be up to you to decide what you think
1:00
after you have the facts or the allegations presented to you.
1:04
But I think it's pretty interesting that there are people
1:07
out there that refuse to believe this report, And look,
1:11
I don't know if the numbers are correct. I don't
1:14
know if that many women and girls have been abused
1:17
over in the UK. But now that the allegation has
1:20
been made, I think we need to dive into it
1:23
and take a look, because if what that report is
1:26
saying is true, we're talking about one of the most dastardly, disgusting,
1:31
depraved rings of all time and on a level of
1:35
abuse far larger than anything Epstein could have ever dreamed of.
1:41
So if what that report is saying is true, then
1:44
that topic certainly dovetails into what we're talking about all
1:48
the time when it comes to systemic breakdowns. So I
1:52
think that the topic is important, and I think it's
1:55
a topic that we need to dive into, and starting
1:58
later on today, that's exactly what we're gonna do, and
2:01
we're gonna look at it with the same eye that
2:03
we look at the allegations made against Jeffrey Epstein and
2:07
his trafficking ring. If you go into something and you
2:11
automatically think that there's no there there, then a lot
2:13
of times that's where your confirmation bias is going to
2:16
take you. So I'm coming into this completely neutral as
2:21
far as I don't know one way or the other
2:23
what's true or not, but I do know this. I
2:27
have some people over in the UK that I really
2:29
trust who believe that this is true. And if that
2:32
is the case, this is one of the biggest cover
2:35
ups in the history of the whole entire world. And
2:38
keep in mind the UK is already dealing with the
2:40
situation with Prince Andrew and Peter Mandelsson. So things you're
2:44
spinning out of control over in the UK pretty quickly,
2:48
and we're going to do our best to follow along. Now,
2:52
one thing I will say is I'm not some expert
2:54
on English politics, but what we're going to do is
2:57
call balls and strikes, because in my opinion, if you
3:00
believe the Epstein survivors, then at the very least you
3:04
should be listening to what these survivors have to say
3:06
as well. Now that doesn't mean you have to believe
3:08
people blindly, but I see a lot of people that
3:11
dismiss this stuff out of hand and act like it's
3:14
just politics. And I'm sure that politics does play a part,
3:18
But to write all of this off as politics, to
3:21
write it all off is fake or overblown, because it
3:24
doesn't fit with your political view, that's bad news, and
3:29
anybody doing that is enabling this kind of bullshit. So
3:32
if you're somebody that says they care about the Epstein survivors,
3:35
then I would hope that that kind of empathy moves
3:39
over to anyone who has suffered the way that these
3:41
people have allegedly suffered. And I think that the women
3:45
who are making these accusations over in the UK deserve
3:48
to be heard and listen to the same way the
3:51
Epstein survivors are. And that's exactly what we're going to
3:55
do around these parts. All right now, With that said,
3:58
why don't we turn our focus right now to the
4:01
topic at hand. And the topic at hand, obviously, is
4:05
Jeffrey Epstein's bitch ass and the Trump administrations cover up.
4:11
To do that, we have an article from CBS News
4:13
and the headline What's Missing from the Epstein Files. Questions
4:17
persist about unexplained redactions, missing documents, and email gaps. This
4:23
article was authored by Daniel Rutnik. When the Department of
4:27
Justice released more than three million pages of documents under
4:31
the Epstein Files Transparency Act, survivors, advocates and lawmakers quickly
4:37
raised questions about an apparent discrepancy. The DOJ had said
4:41
it collected more than six million pages of material during
4:44
its investigation, but was only released in half that number. Oh,
4:48
you know, duplicative national security stuff you're not allowed to see. Meanwhile,
4:56
that's not what the law is called for. The Justice
5:00
Department tells CBS News it's released every document required by
5:04
the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and maintains that those unreleased
5:10
three million documents were either duplicative, unrelated to EPSTEIN, or
5:13
protected by legal privilege. Who believes that, Like, how can
5:18
you have a valid investigation when the people who are
5:21
in charge of that investigation are doing everything in their
5:24
power to make sure it goes nowhere? And if there's
5:29
ever been a time for a special council, now is it?
5:33
But concerns persist about evidence that important documents are still
5:37
being withheld. At the same time, the Government Accountability Office
5:41
recently announced it was launching an investigation into the way
5:44
documents that were released had information blacked out. That move
5:48
comes at the request of several members of Congress. Representative
5:52
Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee,
5:55
says that if there are duplicates. Okay, that's fine, let's
5:58
see them. As I think that the people need to
6:01
understand is we're not sure what's in the three million,
6:05
and I think that's a big problem. That wasn't what
6:09
was called for by the law. That wasn't what was required.
6:14
All these redactions that we see in these emails that
6:17
are protecting people's names, etc. That aren't survivors, that's not
6:23
what the law called for. The whole last point of
6:25
this is accountability, and how can anyone be held accountable
6:30
if nobody knows their name. CBS News has analyzed the
6:35
archive not only for what has been disclosed, but also
6:38
for documents that appear to be absent. Despite the unprecedented
6:42
volume of material now available, it's apparent that many gaps
6:45
remain in the public record surrounding Epstein's activities, his communication,
6:50
the federal investigation into them, and the circumstances surrounding his death.
6:55
Behind Bars Hour review identified several areas where important questions
7:00
remain unanswered or documents appeared or remain unreleased. Well that's
7:05
basically the whole last investigation right. The Epstein Files Transparency
7:11
Act provides only limited grounds for withholding information or redacting names.
7:16
Its primary purpose is to protect victims. The bills specifically
7:20
excluded reputational harm or political sensitivity as a reason for redacting,
7:25
Yet in many instances, prominent individuals' names were redacted while
7:30
victims' names were not. And it's funny how it always
7:34
went one way right, one way traffic the whole entire time,
7:39
always a victim's name being released. Never the dirt bags,
7:44
I know, just another big accident. They were overworked, all
7:48
these lawyers from all these different departments. Some redactions seem
7:53
difficult to justify. In one example, the text where Epstein
7:56
send Steve Bannon a link to an article, Bannon's face
7:59
was blacked out in a photo that had already been
8:02
publicly posted online. Have to protect Donald Trump's guy, right,
8:06
mister Steve Bannon himself, Jeffrey Epstein's other bff. Elsewhere, the
8:13
names of business contacts and acquaintances of Epstein appear to
8:16
have been redacted without an obvious reason under the terms
8:19
of the law. Well, there is no reason. The thing is,
8:23
they knew they didn't have to answer for any of it.
8:26
Every single one of these officials that's involved in this
8:29
knows that no matter what happens. They're never going to
8:31
face consequences. Donald Trump will pardoned them, so they can
8:35
say and do whatever they want to further the cover up.
8:39
And the only way we're ever going to get to
8:41
the bottom of it is if we have an independent council.
8:45
In another widely cited example, a two thousand and two
8:47
email with the sign off love Milania had the full
8:50
name and email of the sender and receiver redacted. In April,
8:54
First Lady Malania Trump acknowledged having exchanged emails with Glenn Maxwell,
8:59
saying in a statement that it cannot be categorized as
9:02
anything more than casual correspondence. My plight reply to her
9:06
email doesn't amount to anything more than a trivial note.
9:10
Oh no, nothing at all. All of us have those
9:13
kind of emails to people who are diddling little kids
9:17
like The whitewashing of this is just unbelievable. I remember
9:22
a point in time in this country where a scandal
9:24
like this would be the end of you, But now
9:27
no big deal. In fact, this dude is convinced people
9:30
that it's all a hoax. And I'll tell you what,
9:34
as much as people don't want to admit it, it's
9:37
been a masterful stroke by Donald Trump and his administration. Oh,
9:42
it's costly for the American people, but for him personally.
9:47
Starting that war in Iran was the best movie ever made.
9:50
And now that that's winding down, a lot of the
9:52
hubbub and buzz surrounding the Epstein Files has been muted.
9:59
Whether that's people lost interest because of all the inaction,
10:03
or people who thought things were real now think it's
10:06
a hoax because Donald Trump told them so. Either way,
10:10
donald Trump got what he wanted, and that's people focusing
10:13
on other things besides this issue. The Epstein Files Transparency
10:18
Act requires the DOJ to provide justification for every redaction
10:23
it permits withholding information that would constitute a clear, unwarranted
10:27
invasion of personal privacy, but also states that all redactions
10:31
must be accompanied by a written justification, published in the
10:35
Federal Register and submitted to Congress. The Department of Justice
10:39
has made no attempt to address specific redactions, and instead
10:43
issued a general statement saying it's redactions were consistent with
10:47
the Act and that certainly is not the law. They
10:51
have to justify every single redaction made, every last one,
10:56
and if they don't do that, or they're unwilling to
10:58
do that, then they're not com applying with the law
11:00
as it's written, and there certainly should be consequences for
11:03
anybody that refuses to the same way there would be
11:06
consequences for me or you. Members of Congress have been
11:11
given the opportunity to review redacted material, but the process
11:15
is time consuming, and some of complain that their searches
11:18
are being monitored by the DOJ. Well, who are we kidding.
11:23
Let's not act like the DOJ is not monitoring everybody.
11:27
Pretty sure that everybody's information is getting swooped up, maybe
11:30
not by the DOJ, but by the NSA, by the CIA.
11:36
Remember what Edward Snowden told us. After CBS News reached
11:40
out to the DOJ for comment on these redactions, a
11:43
photo of Bannon and two of the emails were quietly unredacted.
11:47
After one of those was unredacted, it revealed the sender
11:52
was former UK diplomat Peter Mandelsson, who was arrested earlier
11:56
this year on suspicion of mishandling sensitive government document, which
12:00
BBC News reports he denies. Mandelson has said that he
12:04
regrets his friendship with Epstein and says he never witnessed
12:08
criminal activity, well besides his own right. I mean, you
12:13
sent the emails, and in those emails was sensitive information correct?
12:18
The DOJ released millions of epstein emails, nearly all originate
12:22
from an email account he created around the time he
12:25
went to jail in two thousand and eight. Missing from
12:28
the Epstein files or emails from his other earlier accounts,
12:32
including approximately twenty thousand messages from Epstein's je E project
12:37
at Yahoo dot com account, which were previously obtained by
12:41
hackers and later archived by the nonprofit Distributed Denial of Secrets.
12:46
It's unclear if the DOJ itself ever obtained those emails.
12:52
That's concerning. How could the DOJ itself not get those emails?
12:59
You're the You mean to tell me you don't have
13:02
the power to subpoena those emails. Some older email messages
13:08
do appear in records apparently obtained from Glenn Maxwell's account
13:11
or other sources, but the DOJ's release is missing most
13:15
of Epstein's earliest communications. However, a batch of documents raises
13:20
questions about what the DOJ does have a series of
13:24
screen grab images of Epstein's inbox for an email account
13:28
little Saint Jeff at yahoo dot com, a reference to
13:31
his island Little Saint James from the early two thousands,
13:35
notably a period of time when Epstein was in touch
13:38
with Donald Trump, whom he knew through New York and
13:41
Palm Beach social circles. The sender and recipient fields on
13:45
those records are heavily redacted. Mister Trump has repeatedly claimed
13:51
he has never used email, but those communications could potentially
13:54
have references to Epstein's relationship with mister Trump and others.
14:00
This was also the period in which Epstein was found
14:02
to have been recruiting underage girls for sexual massages, and
14:07
would likely have been of high interest to investigators. Mister
14:11
Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein. Well,
14:17
those emails could be pretty interesting, huh. And I think
14:20
this really just goes directly to the heart of the
14:22
issue with the DOJ claiming that they have nothing left
14:26
to investigate, nothing left to look at, nowhere else to go,
14:30
when it's obvious that that thought the truth. There's plenty
14:33
to investigate. The problem is in that there's no evidence.
14:37
The problem is there's no willpower, despite the DOJ apparently
14:40
having access to Epstein's inbox. Only a handful of emails
14:44
from that account were included in the release. The release
14:48
includes a substantial amount of internal DOJ and FBI correspondence.
14:52
The names of many DOJ and FBI officials involved in
14:56
those communications have been redacted, making it difficult to reconstruct
15:01
who was responsible for key investigative actions part of the plan.
15:07
That's what they're covering up. I'm telling you right now.
15:11
It's the institutional fluckery that they're so worried about spilling
15:14
out because they know what will happen. They already know
15:18
nobody trusts the DOJ, and if this comes out and
15:22
it spills out the way it should, forget it. There's
15:25
no coming back from that. Numerous emails in the archive
15:30
reference detached documents that do not appear to have been
15:33
included in the release. One example concerns the theft of
15:37
approximately thirty firearms from Epstein's or O Ranch property in
15:40
New Mexico in August twenty eighteen, and employee emailed Epstein
15:45
a file titled ZMC gun Inventory PDF, which contained information
15:50
about the weapons, including their serial numbers. According to a
15:55
New Mexico State Police report obtained by CBS News those
15:59
serial numbers were withheld from investigators during the theft investigation.
16:04
CBS News was unable to locate any document containing firearm
16:08
serial numbers in the released archive. Well, I wonder why,
16:13
and as far as guns go, Jeffrey Epstein was at
16:16
his heart an arms dealer that was part of his
16:19
grooming process of his own before he started this, he
16:23
had that even where the attachments may have been released,
16:27
linking them back to the emails from which they originated
16:30
is nearly impossible. The DOJ replaced original file names with
16:35
its own document numbering system, making it difficult to determine
16:39
whether such attachments were included elsewhere in the archive, or
16:43
which email a file may have been originally attached to.
16:47
Confusion is the game, that's the goal. They want you
16:51
to be confused. They don't want you to understand what's
16:53
happening here. They don't want you to have any idea
16:57
that they have a bunch of files that they've release,
17:02
and that's why they're going so hard in the paint
17:04
to try and make you move on. A notable document
17:08
in the files is a sixty nine page report produced
17:11
by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force FUSION Center,
17:15
identifying Epstein and fourteen others as targets of a DEA
17:19
investigation into allege money laundering connected to ecstasy or ketamin trafficking.
17:24
Sounds about right. Jeffrey Epstein was moving money, bundling it,
17:29
and repackaging it for everybody. What you think the cartels
17:33
didn't know about that? You think drug dealers didn't know
17:35
about a guy like Epstein. An investigation of that scope
17:40
would likely have generated substantial records, including investigative reports, emails,
17:45
and financial analysis. None of that material was released, of
17:49
course not it would tell you too much, and that
17:52
was never the point. But sure, let's move on. The
17:57
DEA denied CBS News request for a related records under
18:01
the Freedom of Information Act and also declined a request
18:04
from Oregon Senator Ron Wyden seeking additional information about the investigation.
18:09
The senator's office told CBS News, well, that's crazy. You know,
18:16
the Senate Congress oversight, But sure, I guess the DEA
18:20
could just tell them to go get stuffed, because you know,
18:23
the DEA has never been involved in anything crazy. We
18:27
should just trust the DEA too, All these three letter agencies,
18:31
we should trust them and we should never ask questions.
18:36
Previous reporting by The Washington Post revealed that Epstein had
18:40
been named in an investigation in the nineties and to
18:42
Tower's financial a notorious Ponzi scheme, but was never charged.
18:47
Documents related to the investigation were not included in the release,
18:51
despite it having been conducted by the DOJ. One notable
18:56
limitation of the law requiring the Epstein Files release is
18:59
that it only applies to the DOJ. Other agencies may
19:04
have documents relating to Epstein that they have not released.
19:08
And that's the rub, isn't it. I told you that
19:11
the DOJ has the crumbs. The cake is at Langley.
19:18
The document about the DEA investigation revealed three separate immigration
19:22
and Customs enforcement investigations, two of which had already been
19:26
closed by the time of to the twenty fifteen report,
19:29
and one that was listed as pending. But ICE, which
19:32
falls under the Department of Homeland Security, is not covered
19:36
by the Epstein Files Transparency Act typical and not shocking
19:43
with all of the fraud that came with immigration. We
19:46
don't even have a valve to get that information. But
19:51
sure it's not a cover up. They've been very transparent
19:54
since the very beginning Neither are other government agencies, including
19:59
the State Department, Treasury Department, CIA, or NSA, which may
20:03
have collected material on Epstein over the past several decades.
20:07
With his global network of political business contacts, Epstein himself
20:11
wondered if US intelligence had files on them. Oh, he
20:15
knew if they had files on them. Are the Knicks
20:20
the NBA champions? That's how certain I am that there's
20:24
files that the FBI, the CIA, NSA, and everybody else
20:29
are still hiding that have to do with Epstein. CBS
20:33
News spent weeks analyzing indexes the files provided to Glenn
20:37
Maxwell by the DOJ during her criminal case. The same
20:40
index has been used previously by media outlets to identify
20:44
three missing FBI interview records known as three O two's,
20:48
in which agents documented that they were told by Epstein
20:51
accusers who made claims about mister Trump. This index used
20:56
debates numbering, a common legal document indexing system, to catalog records.
21:01
More than seventy percent of the roughly five thousand documents
21:04
listed in the index could not be located through searches
21:08
of the released archive using their assigned document numbers, according
21:12
to a CBS News analysis. Of course, not. It was
21:16
never about giving you the information. I want people to
21:20
understand that this is about cover so Trump can run
21:24
around and say he's done more for the survivors than
21:26
anybody ever. And the fact that people are lapping that
21:30
shit up is terrifying, absolutely terrifying. The DOJ told CBS
21:36
News that many of the missing entries may have been
21:38
identified as duplicates and therefore were excluded from publication. Using
21:43
contextual clues including witness interview dates and document descriptions, some
21:48
files could be located elsewhere, but for many that was
21:52
not possible. One example involves an individual named Joseph Alvarez,
21:57
also known as Gypsy Gita, who we talk about years ago.
22:03
Gita had previously reported been named by one Epstein's survivor
22:07
as someone who introduced her to Glenn Maxwell. Alvarez died
22:11
in twenty twenty one. CBS News was unable to locate
22:16
four of eight documents associated with Alvarez in the index.
22:20
Most of the documents that were present one was a
22:23
picture of Alvarez with mister Trump, one was alvarez business card,
22:27
and two were photographs of large bags of cash. The
22:30
four missing documents were listed as Alvarez asset report, Alvarez
22:36
law enforcement report, Alvarez contact card report, and screenshot of
22:40
redacted Facebook It's unclear from the documents why these photos
22:45
were included in the case files while they were looking
22:48
at him as a co conspirator. That's obvious, maybe not named,
22:52
but certainly unnamed. Have you ever read a court document. Yeah,
22:57
that's what they say, right, named and unnamed co conspirators.
23:01
And what that means is they know there's other co conspirators,
23:04
but they're not ready to name them. One of the
23:06
most conspicuous absences is communication relating to scheduling of massages.
23:11
In the years prior to Epstein's death, Epstein was known
23:14
to have multiple massages each day of practice that he
23:17
used as a mechanism for recruiting and exploiting young women
23:21
and girls. When authority searched his Palm Beach residence in
23:25
two thousand and five, investigators found hundreds of messages from
23:28
women and girls that they said referred to the scheduling
23:32
of massage appointments. Yet the released archive contains little correspondence
23:37
about how appointments were arranged. After his release from jail
23:41
in twenty nineteen, Epstein frequently encouraged associates to communicate using
23:46
the encrypted messaging app Signal. No Signal messages have been
23:50
included in the release. It's possible that investigators were unable
23:54
to obtain them. Look, Epstein was a clandestine dude, and
23:59
he had a lot of things going on behind the scenes,
24:01
and he had a lot of access to technology that
24:04
a lot of us don't have. Among those who apparently
24:08
used Signal to communicate with Epstein were technology investor Peter
24:12
Thiel and real estate investor Thomas Barrock. Barack, a longtime
24:16
friend of mister Trump, is now US Ambassador to Turkey
24:21
and Special Envoy of Iraq. Both feel and Barock were
24:25
involved in mister Trump's twenty sixteen presidential campaign. They have
24:29
not been accused of any wrongdoing in the Epstein case. Well,
24:33
didn't Sarah Kellen have some things to say about Tom
24:35
Barock and how he introduced her to Jeffrey Epstein. I
24:38
believe maybe something you want to talk to mister Barrock about.
24:44
Suspicious activity. Reports which document millions of dollars in transactions
24:48
made by Epstein that were flagged by financial institutions, were released, retracted,
24:53
and then re released in an entirely redacted form. They
24:57
originate from the Treasury Department, but were used in the
25:00
DOJ's investigation of Epstein and Maxwell's crimes. Not well enough.
25:05
They had all that information and they weren't able to
25:08
hit them with RICO. Now do you think it was
25:11
because they didn't want to or do you think that
25:14
main Justice told them not to. One document from the
25:18
Epstein files revealed the DOJ had footage from one hundred
25:22
and forty seven cameras from the Metropolitan Correctional Center covering
25:25
a twenty four hour period before and after Epstein died,
25:29
totaling over eight terabytes of data. The internal documents indicate
25:33
that the footage does not reveal anything significant since the
25:37
cameras in the Special Housing unit were not active at
25:39
the time. Even so, by law, those videos should have
25:43
been released. Also missing or videos from July twenty third,
25:47
twenty nineteen, the night Epstein apparently first tried to take
25:51
his life. I don't believe that for a second. Sorry,
25:55
I'm just going to keep saying it over and over.
25:58
I refuse to use Nicholas Tartaglione as a source. The
26:03
independent journalist Katie Fang is currently suing the Department of
26:07
Justice to force it to provide justification for many of
26:10
the redactions and release additional documents. According to former Attorney
26:15
General Pam Bondi, her deputy and now acting Attorney General
26:19
Todd Blanche was responsible for handling the redaction and the
26:23
release of the Epstein files. This man should not be confirmed.
26:29
Anyone that votes for this dude to be the Attorney
26:32
General is suspect. The House Committee on Oversight in Government
26:36
Reform has requested that Blanche appear before the committee and
26:40
answer questions about the process. Now, look, I don't know
26:44
if they're going to be able to force him to
26:45
do that, but they should and he should willingly accept.
26:51
If there's nothing to hide and the administrations doing what
26:54
they say they're doing, being the most transparent administration ever,
26:58
nothing to worry about, right somehow, I think that mister
27:02
Blanche is going to fight tooth and nail about going
27:05
under oath and talking about this topic and as far
27:08
as the other stuff goes, all the stuff that's missing, Unfortunately,
27:12
it's just the tip of the iceberg. We all know
27:14
that there's a lot more that's still bubbling under the surface,
27:18
and a lot more they're hiding so at this point
27:21
it's not if they're hiding something. The question is how
27:24
much of it is still hidden, and unfortunately, at this
27:27
point we just don't know. So like usual, we're going
27:31
to keep pounding away and when we have something new,
27:33
we'll get it added to the catalog. All the information
27:37
that goes with this episode can be found in the
27:40
