- 1:22It really and you will your birthday.
- 1:25I am speaking. Yes, I'm starting this into
- 1:29existence. I will be on a boat at some
- 1:33point. Okay.
- 1:35I can't say when this is Me and I'm on a boat.
- 1:40Wait, but we have to specify that you're like on a big boat
- 1:43like a grand time or not doing these.
- 1:45No dangerous registered to the Cayman Islands.
- 1:49Okay, this is this is Cayman Islands, water.
- 1:52If you're not, if you don't understand, this is clear, this
- 1:56is the good stuff, mr. Lamar knows all about it.
- 2:02Oh my God. Yes I do.
- 2:03He has felt the Glorious comfort of Cayman Islands.
- 2:08Orders, you can sit down. You can sit down in that water,
- 2:12and Stingray will literally will literally go right across your
- 2:16lap. Yeah, so yeah.
- 2:22Happy birthday. Yeah, happy birthday.
- 2:25Thank you. Miss that boat completely, it's
- 2:28okay. It's okay.
- 2:29Who's counting? Who's counting right at this
- 2:31point, right? At this point.
- 2:32It doesn't Collide. How are you sir?
- 2:36Well, happy birthday. Birthday to the governor.
- 2:39Thank you, thank you. I got my I got my permissions
- 2:44updates on my work computer. So you see I got loving
- 2:48background Steve. Okay, I see No violence.
- 3:06Too soon. Wait.
- 3:14Oh my gosh, before we screen our hands coming off screens and
- 3:21Lamar he knows nothing puffins. Yeah, I have to dare.
- 3:26I got it. Well I just have to own it
- 3:28right. Like I feel like I probably
- 3:32watched more college basketball this year than all of you
- 3:34combined. And my bracket was literally set
- 3:40Ablaze. I think two weeks ago and it
- 3:44just was and ended with rest in peace this past weekend.
- 3:47So yeah. I know nothing with the
- 3:53happenings or Miss happenings of basketball like in might as well
- 3:59just be done. Like not.
- 4:03We've all lost track at this point.
- 4:05Oh man, it's just wild last but not least.
- 4:10So vicious, welcome, welcome sir.
- 4:12How are you tonight? I am, I am feeling much better
- 4:15and I was a week ago. I applied I truly apologize.
- 4:20Farley. You, but trust me, you needed me
- 4:22to depart also want to say, happy birthday to the governor.
- 4:27I did not realize that you share the same part that is my
- 4:29youngest brother. So, that's okay.
- 4:32Yeah. But when you, but now I get it,
- 4:34you guys have the same demeanor, you know.
- 4:36I guess he's a lot like you. The governor.
- 4:45And I are proof. That Harry's are not all the
- 4:47same. Some of us are wired different.
- 4:53Yes, we have a lot of similarities but I can tell you
- 4:57this there's a huge difference between a more cherries and in
- 4:59April area mmm-hmm yes uh might my daughter's coming up on the
- 5:0510th of April so I'll say that is crazy because MJ's birthday
- 5:09as a tenth of April as well. What what absolutely that do
- 5:14will be 21 years old? Holy cow.
- 5:18Yeah, it's wild. Wow.
- 5:21Why LOL? Wow.
- 5:24Man, we haven't even gotten to the track stuff yet, that's
- 5:27crazy. Oh wow, it already.
- 5:32All right, well as we usually do per the usual, let's just go
- 5:36headfirst into track is back because sheesh-uh-roo-roo mean
- 5:40what one, two three of us were there to witness that Madness
- 5:45that they called Texas. Relays this past weekend, which
- 5:49I still feel like I'm recovering from, by the way.
- 5:51But it's a the governor and I discussed I said earlier, we are
- 5:55still in recovery mode as well. Absolutely.
- 5:57Oh my God I mean I'm definitely a little more vibrant at this
- 6:00point but I don't know what day it is.
- 6:04We'll see in the problem I have is like I'm like today's the
- 6:07best I've felt for the Relay starts in like 12 hours.
- 6:14I will I'll probably I'll do my best not to have to check out
- 6:18next week, right? Well I mean I all open.
- 6:24The doors out for Texas, relays, but I mean, where do you even
- 6:28start about what happened? I'll throw out a, where do you
- 6:35start? Listen, a relay season as I call
- 6:40it other people call it a bunch of different things.
- 6:43Regular-season meets in the NCAA world, You know, they're fun,
- 6:48they're entertaining, you got the whole country picking and
- 6:52choosing their spots to get it in as magnificent as Texas.
- 6:56Relays does Raleigh relays on the distance side spectacular,
- 7:01Right for Me overall Texas relays was about the Texas women
- 7:07like they threw down markers all over the place and it was really
- 7:13impressive to see they clearly wanted to make a statement
- 7:17Statement and went out there and did just that so, you know,
- 7:22props to the Texas women, they were phenomenal across the
- 7:26board. So every Texas relays that I've
- 7:36been to and we're talking from 1991.
- 7:45There has something has happened.
- 7:48Something seismic has happened, something that, you know, it's
- 7:56all at the same time as head, scratching its mind-blowing, and
- 8:01then reality sets in and you're like, wait a minute, we haven't
- 8:07even gotten through March yet X, right?
- 8:11And that's the part that We saw multiple times this weekend,
- 8:19like okay, do we not have to get through till June?
- 8:23Like do we not have to sustain until June?
- 8:28And yeah, I mean, I'm looking at these numbers and I'm like,
- 8:34okay, we saw a 990, he saw 1082, we saw a 1083, we saw 2169.
- 8:43That was a pro. I was a pro. 12:33 1249 in the
- 8:49hurdles like what 12:33 and 1234?
- 8:53Yeah, yeah 12:45. Yeah.
- 8:57So there's a lot of running. Are you insane?
- 8:59I mean, you say nothing like Gabby Thomas was super
- 9:03impressive for me. Yeah, I still think you can
- 9:06tell. She's trying to clean up some
- 9:08things and she's working really hard at it but I don't care what
- 9:13the wind is 1092 and 2169. On the same day is spectacular,
- 9:18the hell of an and what they are.
- 9:20And what's your training Partners name?
- 9:22Little girl from Alabama. Yeah, she's 1096 172 right
- 9:32there. I will, I will call boulder dash
- 9:37on. Anybody says they saw that
- 9:38coming? Well you know what?
- 9:42You know what was really impressive about tomorrow,
- 9:44Clark? It's not like she can't beat
- 9:47Gabby. She hasn't learned how to win
- 9:49those races at that level yet but it was really impressive to
- 9:54watch her B's like right there. Right there at that.
- 9:58Time of year with that double. Yeah.
- 10:00So Tanja obviously has a lot going on down in Austin.
- 10:04Mmm, good. He get done.
- 10:09Get it done. No, I too was.
- 10:11No very impressed with the Texas women but the am women were
- 10:16present as well. Miss Destin it.
- 10:18Would she come 64? Yeah.
- 10:21Then they pay their rent. They also rent 322, right?
- 10:24Yeah. And then they they they broke
- 10:27we'd record in the in the Sprint medley but nobody's talking
- 10:29about it because everybody's talking about Texas because was
- 10:31textiles at home on the home track but and in one that race
- 10:35and they basically directed their own Collegiate record at
- 10:38that. Yeah, so I just need people to
- 10:43understand. You just need to understand.
- 10:53Like if she wasn't on their Sprint medley.
- 10:58No. Oh, you was right.
- 11:00Wasn't it wasn't. That's right.
- 11:02That's right. That was that was a race with
- 11:04them and someone at on LSU's track.
- 11:08When the little bitty one was on the end up on the anchor line
- 11:11together. Okay.
- 11:12Wow, wow, wow. So speak.
- 11:15Speaking of markers this stood out, to me from Texas, if
- 11:20anybody was didn't know that, that Carmelita was going to be
- 11:25an issue, I did not call this a while back.
- 11:34It's a whole ass issue now. So mean, I mean, right?
- 11:39Endure endure, ncaa's was not a fluke folks.
- 11:41Pay attention, right? True.
- 11:43And here's the thing with indoor, ncaa's enduring into the
- 11:46blaze was about the men and a lot of those dudes were, you
- 11:49know, transfers and all of that. So he didn't get the respect it
- 11:53deserved right for Solera Barnes another transfer to step out
- 11:581082. Hmm, I mean, it was slightly
- 12:02windy or whatever. The hell I don't care, like just
- 12:05barely well, you know what? No, no, it was big.
- 12:07One was like three points on that.
- 12:09Will the legal right, there you go.
- 12:15That's the run you talk about, right?
- 12:17But but Samara Moody is a freshman who also ran 1108 So
- 12:25jet threw down a little marker of her own out there in Texas.
- 12:29And those those ladies are, you know, they look incredible.
- 12:33They, I've never seen Solera Barnes look like that.
- 12:38Right? Well, because she had me, you
- 12:40never seen it because she hasn't, yes.
- 12:43I mean, like, it's okay. Look, I'm gonna call her baby
- 12:47baby JS because she comes all of his pupils.
- 12:53She not only coaches, like she just has his demeanor in the
- 12:56warm-up area, the whole deal. Like she is locked in.
- 13:00Yeah, and they are locked it like from the warm up to the
- 13:04walk, to the, to the, to the clerk.
- 13:06Yeah, she is. Yes to the T and it's you know
- 13:10it's masterful to watch she did a phenomenal job and you know I
- 13:15was talking to our boy dat other day and people get to recognize
- 13:18when they get healthy therefore by 1 mins the problem too.
- 13:21Is that three guys in 60 final? Yeah, right.
- 13:24So people to show up and run. It's funny.
- 13:27I bumped into Quincy. I was sitting in the stands and
- 13:33I turned to him. I said you realize that 30 years
- 13:35ago In that Stadium over there, you did some incredible,
- 13:42incredible things, you know that, right?
- 13:44And you look to me is like yeah I did that because he did
- 13:51because he did but you know as going back to the Stu what's her
- 13:56Lucius was talking about watching Carmelita and warmer
- 14:00Perry. I got a chance to watch her, you
- 14:03know, down in the cuz was it Is it me or did Florida and USC?
- 14:09Basically, use that strip on the yeah.
- 14:13It's raining there. Early.
- 14:14You ain't get you. No, no, no.
- 14:34We got it. Definitely locked in.
- 15:00So look the Texas, relays were spectacular as usual and we're
- 15:06going to talk about lots of other things that happened this
- 15:08past weekend. But I just want to say this for
- 15:09the record the most impressive thing that happened this
- 15:13weekend. Nobody has talked about nobody
- 15:15is talking about and it happened basically report exit relays
- 15:19barely got started. And a hall opening up her
- 15:23Collegiate, season Outdoors at 6400 plus and listen to me
- 15:29carefully, as I say this slowly, so you can hear me running 2004
- 15:38in the 800 of a heptathlon was flat-out, ridiculous, more
- 15:49ridiculous than all the like. Like before noon craziness, that
- 15:52happen with the 38 in the middles and the 42 in the
- 15:55middles and the 990s, all those things were amazing.
- 16:00But to open your outdoor season at 6400 points with a really
- 16:06subpar Javelin, a subpar high jump for her and then just let
- 16:12me drop this to a four on you. Because coach said, I should
- 16:16what in the name of Beelzebub, is that?
- 16:22Yeah. Let's call this.
- 16:27What it is. Anna Hall is a generational
- 16:30Talent. She's the Unicorn you guys talk
- 16:32about and look, I will be the first to tell you.
- 16:36I'm blessed, I've had my share of unicorns and I hope I keep
- 16:39getting right, but like with Anna.
- 16:44Wait, there's a lot more there. So we had this stupid cross
- 16:48Royal winning in the 200 that you wish you were in the first
- 16:51hundred into a headwind. Basically, you know, the hell.
- 16:54What are the 2323 High because she's much better shape than
- 16:57that. She's on her way to 13 lower the
- 17:00hurdles and just kind of lost her Rhythm.
- 17:01Like you said, the javelin was very non what she's capable of
- 17:06and we know the high jump is better.
- 17:07So the her students incredible we just got to keep pushing her
- 17:10to those things. But I too was, you know, I was
- 17:15traveling. You know, I wasn't there.
- 17:17The first day I was traveling at the second day, we got delayed.
- 17:19So, as I get off the plane, I open up my phone and I see,
- 17:24These marks was like oh my God and you know so we were all
- 17:27sitting on the you know we're actually walking down the
- 17:29tarmac, you know I felt walking down the whatever off the plane
- 17:33watching. The splits come up for the 800
- 17:35like well what's she going to run it?
- 17:36You know. So guys we got to talk to her
- 17:38right before she went to the line as I was at my after the
- 17:40plane landed toe, you know, she went a little bit harder than I
- 17:44thought I needed her to but she went to a horse.
- 17:46I shut my mouth so so for those Who may not be fans or truly
- 17:53follow the heptathlon. As we have our Specialists that,
- 17:58do put to put, Anna Halls 800 in full context at the end of a
- 18:03multi competition. The number one 800-meter runner
- 18:07in the u.s. right now for NCAA is and a hall at 2:04.
- 18:17I don't really, I don't really know.
- 18:19I feel like that's unfair. Somehow, but it is true.
- 18:22She is number one on the list. I just, I just, I need people to
- 18:27understand something that is the equivalent of running 2004 after
- 18:32two days work in practice because from step one, there's
- 18:36not another human being running. At the rate you're running.
- 18:40If you run 2004 and a half, literally the gun goes off and
- 18:44everybody goes, they line up behind you like Let Her Go.
- 18:47Nobody messing with that. Right.
- 18:50And so like look folks, there are people.
- 18:55We never talk about, right? We never talk about Jackie.
- 19:00You know what I mean? Like what nobody's going to do
- 19:02Jackie things. There are a few of those people
- 19:05in our Sport and I I'm going to say this, I'm not going to say
- 19:09she's going to break, Jackie's records.
- 19:12But I need everybody to understand that she may have the
- 19:16talent to do so one day, because there isn't anything, she can't
- 19:21do. She's, she's not really
- 19:25approaching her ceiling in anything, including the eight,
- 19:29you know, seek his Heaven. Help the world of somebody else
- 19:32decides that they're going to run 2005 or 2006 and try to run
- 19:36with her, right, right. Because then she had like, it's
- 19:39easier than right. Somebody else is with you.
- 19:43So I look, she's, I just need everybody to enjoy it.
- 19:47You know, like we all got to watch Grant when she when he was
- 19:49in college, right? It's like enjoy watching this
- 19:51for free because you won't get to see this for free very long.
- 19:55Yeah, Anna ceiling is and there is none, and I am not sure that.
- 20:04If she changed for the 800 everyday, she wouldn't be the
- 20:06internship. That time that she is well and
- 20:10she just, she just, you know, so we've got some pretty good
- 20:13quarter models on this campus, and when they decide to get
- 20:17after each other in practice, it's a sight to be seen, you
- 20:20know, and she's just right there with him and sometimes he takes
- 20:22him to the cleaners. You know, she's very special and
- 20:29we're taking it personal to make sure that she gets to where
- 20:34she's supposed to be because you know I'll say it there were a
- 20:37lot of naysayers out there said shit ever came here.
- 20:42Touche, that's all I'm going to say.
- 20:44Yeah, to shame on, man. Yeah, and you know, the the EP
- 20:49mentioned the craziness of with the for by one's right, like
- 20:52takes it out of Texas, didn't run as fast in the file, but
- 20:55those young lady rain, 40 to 42 at 9:30 in the morning.
- 20:59Yes, yeah. And I we're hearing from, you
- 21:02know? Yeah.
- 21:03Like it was more know, Yes.
- 22:01oh wait, one more point of note for me from the Texas relays,
- 22:05the best video I saw from the Texas relays is not on the
- 22:11track. It was in stance and shout out
- 22:14to my boy Gabe Sanders at Boston University, young man freshman
- 22:20from, I believe of Great Britain.
- 22:22I will not even attempt to pronounce his name because I
- 22:24don't want to be able to do it. Toby Toby, Toby Toby.
- 22:30Super windy, I don't care. You've never seen somebody from
- 22:35that school, run that fast. Okay, so huge win, huge win over
- 22:42a quality field and setting down his own marker.
- 22:46He's not scared of. Anybody knows how to run gave is
- 22:49doing a great job with that kid. And I think, you know, by the
- 22:53end of the season, he's going to make some, Make Some Noise piss
- 22:55off. A lot of people in the east
- 22:56region. And then once you get to the
- 22:59show, you, let's see. That's why, is he going to piss
- 23:00off? A lot of people need species.
- 23:02Only gets one spot. Because no one saw him coming.
- 23:05Very few know I love as I knew he was there.
- 23:09Yeah, but you're a you know what I'm gonna do?
- 23:13What I do. And like, I'm very impressed.
- 23:16We're not scared. We'll see when we sing.
- 23:19I mean, no one, but no one I've had some of these same
- 23:26conversation with other people, you know, like what are you
- 23:29gonna do about that? Well, I mean, I'm not--that's
- 23:31not football. Can't like past them.
- 23:33More when I'm supposed to run it, stop basketball.
- 23:35I can't go to the food court office.
- 23:36I'm going to put my people to track them.
- 23:38Run 99, somebody So I know that we shot out the
- 24:35game, shoutout to Toby, you know, like they got it done.
- 24:40No. But like, but what about the
- 24:42videos are credible of gay but they are legal.
- 24:49Oh my God, he's like, you know, like we're like we're sitting
- 24:53there and he runs in an effortless and the clock stopped
- 24:57and were like, that can't be right, it was right.
- 25:01It just looks really, Yeah, that's I turn somebody go.
- 25:04You won't see him tomorrow. I don't know who the who's
- 25:09coaching there, but whoever it is is not just him.
- 25:13They got other kids are running. Well yeah, very well.
- 25:16Anyway, speaking of speaking to speak coaching David Oliver is
- 25:20coaching his 4x4 for box for 11:25.
- 25:28Yes, yes, Is culture. So had the opportunity to spend
- 25:35about, you know, we talked a lot this weekend, but we spent about
- 25:3815 minutes talking about the attitude athletes and you can
- 25:46see the hair on the back of his neck, rise up.
- 25:49And then you knew why, who? Why?
- 25:50He was, who he was as an athlete.
- 25:52You know, that was, that was my one of my favorite moments.
- 25:56You know, I got to spend some time with some of my favorite
- 25:58people chew and the governor included this past weekend but
- 26:01that 50-minute periods. Read with him.
- 26:03Like I walked out. I was ready to go.
- 26:04Look, he was fired that you wanted it and you got the right
- 26:16people in place. Yeah, it gets exciting.
- 26:18It gets fun. Howard girls are living a
- 26:22rowlandson's endure yeah and they will definitely ship away
- 26:29at some people in the east region as well.
- 26:36Yes, they will. Can we can we talk about 1233
- 26:38though? Can we talk about 2033 from
- 26:41this? Well, I mean, I think that, you
- 26:43know, as a hurdle coaching somebody than to loves the
- 26:48event. I mean, the to 33 and 34 were
- 26:51both masterful. I mean, they're not as easy as
- 26:54people think because of the wind, especially in Armstrong's
- 26:57case, because she's much bigger than kidding, right?
- 27:01So, she's getting blown in, To the things.
- 27:03And if you watched thing, Armstrong's feet were
- 27:04incredible. Yeah, I'm talking about, you
- 27:06know, making a statement like, hey, yeah, I fall started
- 27:09indoors, but guess what you ain't in doors anymore, you
- 27:12know, because I knew she was going to run fast because if you
- 27:15go back and watch the corners, human 1290 something in the
- 27:18preliminary and she was not like, you just, you just chop it
- 27:23down, the track, you know? And Kenny for the most
- 27:26impressive thing, he did was not the 1233.
- 27:30It was she when 22 low in the 20s across a 22 low at 140.
- 27:37She'd right there with yes well yeah so for me the world record
- 27:44holder we all understand how phenomenal can you?
- 27:48Kenny and Alia Armstrong could not be built differently as
- 27:51athletes. So the last time, Dennis shaver
- 27:57in the LSU program had somebody Built This Way rolling like that
- 28:01was Jasmine Stowers. And it was when she was a pro,
- 28:04but if you remember years ago, jasmine flowers, came out, early
- 28:08season and dropped 12. Threes and look like, look, like
- 28:12the world record was just on notice and she lost that rhythm.
- 28:17Later in the year and it started turned into a lot of crashes.
- 28:21If Miss Armstrong can State, you know, keep her Rhythm and stay
- 28:25tight. When the race is on, it's going
- 28:29to be really, really exciting across the board because the
- 28:32other hurdlers in the NCAA, who can challenge her, Miss Stark
- 28:36being the primary candidate. They're built very different.
- 28:40They race very different, they do things differently and it's
- 28:43going to be really exciting to see when everybody lines up, How
- 28:46It, ultimately plays out. But, and that was a smooth as a
- 28:50woman's hurdle race. Can be any gets it done with a
- 28:53lot of power and force. She's a small person Armstrong
- 28:57has to stay small and get away from the hurdles and hold
- 29:00herself together and it was beautiful watch masterful.
- 29:05It was it was natural and that was one of those like you just
- 29:08you got tired of hobby. Like this is going to be fast.
- 29:11Yeah, I wonder I here's what I wonder.
- 29:15How does this affect recruiting? What are you telling with nona
- 29:23high school that has dreams and aspirations?
- 29:27Even going to know them. It's like, like my thing is,
- 29:31this is like, you know, I get asked that question a lot.
- 29:34And I'm like, you know, it doesn't affect recruiting at
- 29:36all, you know, like, okay, you you sit in the living room and
- 29:40you your honest with what you think they can do, right?
- 29:43Because they all sound asleep. Everybody can't do that.
- 29:46When I'm not gonna walk into every hurdlers home, I go into.
- 29:49So you could break the Collegiate record.
- 29:50No, but like you go in there, you just use sell your program
- 29:56and you shall what you can do, you know?
- 29:58Because you know because by the time most of these kids get to
- 30:01college and greater gone. So doesn't matter.
- 30:05You know what you would hope it would do in recruiting
- 30:08Governor's give recruits and parents and High School coaches
- 30:11perspective. Yes.
- 30:13Because 12:3 is fast 14-3. Not so much great but they think
- 30:20they deserve the same money. There you go.
- 30:22The issue is unique. Then you got to go back to and
- 30:26you got to look at. I don't know what Alia read in
- 30:28high school but you gotta you gotta look at that that whole
- 30:31deal to and you know, and then this is not the first time
- 30:35Benes, Shavers had a great order and won't be the last.
- 30:40So we can't ignore the distance people.
- 30:44Like, real a season, has nothing to do with distance Runners
- 30:48Outdoors, but why all the sprinters are out there, picking
- 30:51the relay meets and kicking the, you know, the races, the
- 30:54distance Runners doing the same thing and Raleigh real.
- 30:59A he's just like, it's crazy. So we have Riley relays this
- 31:03past weekend. I'm just looking at, I've got
- 31:06the list in front of me. Okay, men's 5K, 1 through 10,
- 31:10nine of those came out of Raleigh, relays women's 5K K 1
- 31:14through 10 Riley, relays 10K, men, 1 through 10, 10K, women 1
- 31:19through 10 and now Stanford's up next a on deck this week, and
- 31:24then two weeks after that, it's an interesting part of the
- 31:32regular season, for NCAA, track and field.
- 31:34And I know it's not, I know, it's not fair, because everybody
- 31:38can't afford to go shop for the for these races, right?
- 31:41But that's why regionals existing, it's awesome.
- 31:43But During the regular season. Like it's really fun, whatever
- 31:47your Niche is, whatever. You're a fan of, you know, where
- 31:50the hot races are going to be week to week and you just sit
- 31:54back and enjoying because my God, it's crazy.
- 31:59All these people were in 28 minutes in the 10K.
- 32:03All of them. Yeah, I think I think we saw
- 32:07this train indoors and it's going to continue Outdoors.
- 32:12Now I'm waiting for the EP to call me and tell me that it's
- 32:17going to take 10 10:25 to be in the top 40, 80 in the East
- 32:20Indies, resource of great. You ready to go?
- 32:24And I mean, like, what we'll talk about, not ignoring things,
- 32:26we can ignore the filaments detectives like 20 21 was
- 32:31seventh in the long term. Stupid.
- 32:35Yes. Yeah.
- 32:38Wait, wait. Same result, mr.
- 33:09Edwards is the first time I've seen him first time, you know,
- 33:19and he's a problem. If, when he learns to hold it
- 33:22Rhythm, he's a problem. Because he is the one guy that
- 33:28can challenge Trey in my opinion because he is almost as fast as
- 33:32trick. Almost speaking of Florida,
- 33:37State mr. Bowling goes out and runs 1003
- 33:41legal. New PB, okay?
- 33:44Right. That that's the story to me and
- 33:49listen. Governor, I heard just thrown
- 33:52alley-oops. Hey, man, listen, I like Matthew
- 33:58bowling, I'm a fan of Matthew bowling.
- 34:00He's doing a hell of his job this season and props on the new
- 34:04PV, this isn't about Matthew Boulton.
- 34:06This is about his following, just be clear people.
- 34:12His PB is now 1003, which means we are for three years removed.
- 34:18He still ain't rants up 10. So Stop saying it, it never
- 34:23happened. It's not a thing.
- 34:28Don't put it back on. SportsCenter, matter of fact,
- 34:30John Anderson make sure that that news never goes on
- 34:33SportsCenter, boys. PB is 1000 three is number one
- 34:38in the nation props to him but he is still not a set up tents
- 34:41printer. Stop saying that may, I say
- 34:44something EP would you like to say it for me?
- 34:49No no please go, right. Ahead out the 1003, a fast.
- 34:54Oh, that's cool. I'm with all of that, but that's
- 34:58his PR. And I'm not Darryl Anderson,
- 35:04sir, like I'm not. So before you, people started to
- 35:09speak, to me an email that I'm not hating or Matthew bowling
- 35:13because whoever you are that wants to text me, you could run
- 35:16to no.3 and I tell you to Note 3, right?
- 35:20So happy for Matthew. I'm happy for, you know, coach
- 35:23Carroll and and her gang great run by Matthew.
- 35:26But like almost say this again, I've been saying it for years.
- 35:29If y'all will get off that man and let him grow in this sport,
- 35:33he may be something special. Stop putting pressure on that
- 35:36guy. Let's let him be a college
- 35:39athlete and grow into who he is. But now the soon as he runs 10
- 35:42or 30, he's gonna be the next Olympic champion 1003.
- 35:46You can't make the USA Farm Bro, I had a 20-minute conversation
- 35:52with a man. I will not name her buddies
- 35:55buddies from Texas. Oh Jesus.
- 35:58He tried to explain to me that he didn't understand why
- 36:03everybody's saying it's a new PB because it is oh gosh because
- 36:08that is his best time ever. This dress is best when we can
- 36:15we, can we somebody somebody who has run under 10 and I listen, I
- 36:24need everybody to pay attention. Cred, curly is the Boogeyman.
- 36:30Whoo. Hey, whoo.
- 36:32We okay with next person on my list, read.
- 36:37Listen, listen to me people who watch this show, but don't watch
- 36:42this show. Now, you need to chime in and
- 36:45pay attention. It has not struck capable yet.
- 36:49This man has run three times 44 in the middle, 2001 or two, I
- 36:56can't remember which one it is. And 999.
- 37:00That's right. I need you all to understand a
- 37:04that's that's a career. First of all, be is damn.
- 37:08Sure a season for any Superstar but see, second place in the
- 37:13999, race was 1050 something. Second place in the 20, flat
- 37:18race was 21, something and second place in the 44, middle
- 37:21race was 4890 something, folks. This is practice.
- 37:26That's what the man. The man is out here.
- 37:28Time trialling at metal level performances.
- 37:32The 999 now Metals budget by themselves.
- 37:41By themselves. The point is this, yes is a
- 37:45smidgen of hyperbole there. But at the end of the day at the
- 37:50end of the day, it ain't April yet.
- 37:54Not able, that's true. It ain't April yet.
- 37:57This man has run under 10 above 20 and he's 44 in the middle.
- 38:06Yeah, so like look, the question is the question is, which lane
- 38:12are we running in right? 22, the hundred meter guys, and
- 38:17the 400-meter guys are all Sleepless at some level thinking
- 38:21about Fred. That's why I said, Fred's new
- 38:23nickname is the Boogeyman because he is a problem.
- 38:31That man is a problem. So have at it y'all that's a
- 38:40good place that that's a good place to cut.
- 38:42What was next to her. She's more silly Madness.
- 38:51It's time. Was that?
- 38:53No, it's not time to relax. Oh no.
- 38:56No, this is chili Madness. Oh my God.
- 39:03Never sneak like and so excited in my life.
- 39:05Oh my God, it's silly met sadness.
- 39:08Is what we're calling the NCAA Final Four in basketball.
- 39:13See one? Let me do what's appropriate?
- 39:16Let me know. Oh my gosh, stupid.
- 39:21So we've got a watch with one eye.
- 39:23You not really going to ask me. No questions, right?
- 39:26Oh, there's no question is to ask you just plain and simple.
- 39:31None of us know anything about college basketball clearly.
- 39:35And so we have Duke versus UNC on one side of the coin.
- 39:39We have little roaches and I think the governor Phil this and
- 39:43that kicked it was a villanelle without their best scorer.
- 39:46Yes. Yes.
- 39:48Oh, So I think that I'll be going to just pick who we thinks
- 39:53gonna win the thing now or forever.
- 39:54Hold on, before before we get, but before we get to screwing up
- 39:59more pics, there was a contest going on around here.
- 40:03Oh my god, bitch. I'm pretty sure all five of us
- 40:06got blank on the file yet. Yeah.
- 40:09But like I said, but I was my first statement we all suck so
- 40:13I'm not sure what we have to discuss this any further because
- 40:16there's still a winner right there.
- 40:18Welcome to be, I did nobody want because somebody got good.
- 40:21Did anybody have Kansas in the final four?
- 40:24Because that's the only shot of all 044 what, you know.
- 40:33Okay. So we all next day.
- 40:42That's actually not true. You can you just can't bet on
- 40:46it? No, no, I can't.
- 40:48Even fill it out. Oh wow, interesting.
- 40:52Interesting. I don't know, science officers
- 40:55that filled it out. How's it going to say nine
- 40:57configure that's campus. Not only, oh God, we're really
- 41:08gonna do this, exactly God bless Coach, K, wish him all the best.
- 41:22I have no desire to try to pick this.
- 41:24This idiocy, to be honest with you.
- 41:27All right. I think we, we need to lick our
- 41:29wounds, go on about our business and then come on next weekend.
- 41:32And congratulate somebody because we're gonna get this
- 41:34shit wrong because you're horrible.
- 41:36So, he should tell you what's going on in college basketball
- 41:39that were like, this is a massively upset tournament and
- 41:42nobody picked the final four, and it's for Blue Bloods.
- 41:45Yes. Okay.
- 41:46Right, like that tells you all that?
- 41:48What's going on in basketball or not?
- 41:49Like, we're surprised that duke-north Carolina Linna Kansas
- 41:53and Villanova and the final four.
- 41:54Are you serious? Those four schools have won
- 41:56national championships in the last 10 years.
- 41:58Yeah, although that's true, so if we're not picking out I'll
- 42:02just say things. I've watched a lot of the
- 42:04tournament, not a lot of the seat.
- 42:08First of all it is I was blown away to learn.
- 42:13It was on one of the postgame shows for all duke-north
- 42:18Carolina might is probably the best rivalry in college
- 42:21basketball. You could argue, it's the best
- 42:23rivalry in college sports. It's definitely what best one in
- 42:26basketball for sure. They have never played in the
- 42:31tournament and now they're going to play in the final four.
- 42:35Yeah, for Coach K's last shot at his you know other dominance of
- 42:42the the sport. Right.
- 42:43Like that's incredible and you know, with all due respect to
- 42:47the other half of the brackets, that's the only game that
- 42:49matters this week. Whoever The other day it is, but
- 42:54it's about basketball had a commissioner.
- 43:00That man is sitting in his office going.
- 43:04Yes, yes, he is. Absolutely this but he is.
- 43:12I cannot wait to see what the numbers are.
- 43:16For this game. Because let's call it what it
- 43:19is. A country is split in half when
- 43:21it comes to Duke and North Carolina, it's either or there's
- 43:24no in-between. And, and to that point my entire
- 43:28life, I was North Carolina side of that debate, hated Duke.
- 43:35All of it. I am saying.
- 43:37I am so rooting for do, I'm so sorry for myself.
- 43:41I'm never absolutely rooting for my, I'm going to my stomach.
- 43:44Christian Laettner, no, Christian Laettner.
- 43:47Kristen later, ain't playing and I'm rooting for Coach K.
- 43:51Made me hate Duke still hated you.
- 43:55Okay, so I am still going for North Carolina to make the make
- 44:00it to the final game as far as it's a better story and was
- 44:08funny as I can't believe of all people, you are not rooting for
- 44:11that chaos ultimate in Petty, right?
- 44:16Your kids rally, you know, send you out on their shoulders, you
- 44:22fall short to your arch rival, suck it Yeah, I don't know.
- 44:32I have always hated Duke. I've never hated Coach K.
- 44:35That makes sense. Sure, that makes sense too much
- 44:38respect for the do and he deserves to go out, you know,
- 44:42holding the trophy over his head since st.
- 44:45Pete is out my you know, I'm rooting for chaos, kind of died.
- 44:50When say Pete lost the game so I'm all in for Coach K and let
- 44:54me just say this because let's be real.
- 44:57We were kind of disrespectful. We even Other to pick the
- 45:00women's final four. But did you don't know?
- 45:05He was disrespectful. They were just so let me say
- 45:08this, I was equally Blown Away to to learn that.
- 45:12You don't worry Emma just qualify for his 14th final, four
- 45:18in a row in the room lit your literally stole that out of my
- 45:22out of my mouth. Yeah, it's insane.
- 45:25That isn't 14 straight final fours, but it's all go game.
- 45:30Cox on Staley. Let's get facts.
- 45:37So we're not going to pick, we're just going to just let it
- 45:40let it go. You know what?
- 45:56Three places. Like all right, governor
- 46:02governor says, North Carolina, versus Kansas who win and I got
- 46:08I think Kansas wins again. Okay, I'm going Duke Villanova.
- 46:13Yes, I know the dudes out. I don't care.
- 46:16I don't like Kansas. Duke Villanova Coach K goes out
- 46:22on top. Wow Carolina.
- 46:28Villanova because I don't care either and Carolina will open by
- 46:34a true ACC. Absolutely be complete because I
- 46:39summer because I someday hope to be in his position.
- 46:44I'm going to move her. Coach K to go out on a high
- 46:47note. And I'm, there's no way I'm
- 46:51thinking against Kansas because the filter was not beat Kansas
- 46:57Coach, coach Coach K for the Victory Lane.
- 47:00Well, okay, over can do to there.
- 47:04So there you have it. Now we now we Jake's my man.
- 47:06He's not gonna win, I know I know so can we get what?
- 47:17You got? You Why can't you say it out
- 47:21loud? You can mean it or something.
- 47:23I do. You got to tell us something.
- 47:26that's so funny because I know story for another no well, I
- 47:32mean it should so that it actually goes the way I wanted
- 47:34to go but Will you give a shout out to governor?
- 47:39No. Can we can we give a shout-out
- 47:41to Shaheen Holloway? Yeah, your name is namesake
- 47:45Solutions. Holloway strong, baby.
- 47:48Just announced, he got hired by his alma mater.
- 47:51Seton Hall, yes. Cuz I mean, well, deserved,
- 47:56look, you talk about someone in the trenches, like, who, who
- 48:01knew? I didn't know.
- 48:02See Saint Peter's existed. I mean, Governor can I be honest
- 48:06with you? When they beat Kentucky, I
- 48:08literally called to people and I asked him if Saint Peters was
- 48:12from one of our American Idol. That was, that was pretty
- 48:22special, man, pretty special. So shout out to Shaheen Holloway
- 48:27what we're giving a shout-out to coaches.
- 48:30That are well, Reserve, well deserved, you know, a lot of
- 48:32times stuff goes by and hirings go by during the tournament and
- 48:36they get glossed over. But I happen to be friends with
- 48:39Dennis Gates and I'm going to tell you this, y'all Dennis
- 48:43Gates is, if you had a son that was a basketball.
- 48:46Are you would want your son to play like Dennis Gates and to
- 48:49play for Dennis capes? And when I tell you, that him
- 48:52being the new head coach of Missouri, is a incredible news
- 48:55from Missouri and be incredibly well deserved.
- 48:59You're talking about a dude from the south side of Chicago, who
- 49:02bootstrapped himself. Got a degree got two degrees
- 49:05from the University of California and then humbled
- 49:09himself to be an assistant and just worked his way up.
- 49:14Like, yes, he worked at Florida State.
- 49:16But he also worked at a couple other spots that nobody else
- 49:19would want to work. And, you know, whatever job it
- 49:22was. It was to have.
- 49:24He worked there, even worked at his alma mater at the at, you
- 49:28know, at the bottom, the, the bottom level, the, the bottom
- 49:32coach level. So look, I'm super happy for a
- 49:36lot of the folks that are are getting their opportunities in
- 49:39college basketball, because that's the one sport that seems
- 49:42to actually get it. Like, you know, the the people
- 49:47who play should have a coach from time to time, that looks
- 49:51like that. And College basketball.
- 49:55Seems to get that. True.
- 50:03Who you got you? When I let you off the hook you
- 50:08Kansas with Duke on top? Sorry.
- 50:14Ya know, like so I had to look up st.
- 50:16Peter's, right. So it's a New Jersey if you
- 50:20don't know where it is now for the general public because I
- 50:24didn't know I hadn't taken the time to do it but I also went on
- 50:27the Twitter and in their File. It says smashing brackets.
- 50:32Since 2022. That's pretty cool.
- 50:39So funny, so so funny. And yes, congratulations, head
- 50:43coach, because that's amazing. So let's get back on the track.
- 50:50No pun intended. Pun intended is Is the new
- 50:55Sprinter model one that has the elite range from 1 to the 4 for
- 51:01example. Mr. Currently for example mr.
- 51:04Norman so on and so forth. Is this the new model?
- 51:12Hmm, I need Clarity on the quest.
- 51:17What type of clarity? The new Springs, our model, are
- 51:21we asking in general? Like will the future of elite
- 51:26level sprinters just have that range period?
- 51:29Or are we saying that the Noose printer model in the context of
- 51:33the best people on the planet running?
- 51:35The hundred are going to be former or flirted with 400 m
- 51:41cats on the I think a sprinter is defined as somebody that runs
- 51:45all three and I think that's in my opinion anyway.
- 51:48So like so. But so put hoop on.
- 51:50Who's behind the question? You'd explain how they want to
- 51:53do with possessing, this question?
- 51:54Yes. I'm asking for the spirit of
- 51:56question. I think the spirit of the
- 51:59question is, given what's going on, because it most times,
- 52:03right? The top dictates the bottom so
- 52:05given, what's going on up top? Are we going to see more cross
- 52:15pollenization, right? Are we going to see more?
- 52:18Or in the past, right? If you had, if you had at all
- 52:21relatively Lincoln Sprinter, you know was it was a 24K, right?
- 52:26Are some are more of those kids going to be running the 100 as
- 52:29well, you know, also okay got you.
- 52:33So what I'm asking is like our are we going to I think like to
- 52:39Sir lucious is point to be really good at at any event in
- 52:43track and field. You need to be at least passable
- 52:45above and below. I think we've all we all want.
- 52:48Would agree with that. But the new crop seemed to be
- 52:52far better than passable above and below to the point where
- 52:56you're not sure, which one's the best.
- 52:59Like, you look at shreeka Jackson's.
- 53:01You like, I don't know. you know, you look at Frank curly,
- 53:05like you can't look, I don't think any of us could say which
- 53:08ceiling is higher for Fred, the one that you are the 40 I could
- 53:15I could that that would be interesting from a business
- 53:18perspective. No, that's not what.
- 53:20No, no sir. It is not about we notebook.
- 53:26He made the business decision. Yes, we understand that I'm just
- 53:31talking about performance. So the question is basically is
- 53:34what's going on in the Pro ranks going to start changing, what
- 53:39club coaches are doing with Elite level, high school kids,
- 53:42what college coach they're going to be doing Level College, keep
- 53:45Polish people. And as folks are coming, out of
- 53:50college, are there going to be more Explorations into multiple
- 53:54events because here for the last almost 20 years there's been a
- 53:56whole lot of single eventers. Well, I mean like it maybe I'm
- 54:00missing something but like when was there this model like
- 54:06there's never been this model, like, are all those guys didn't
- 54:09do this. I mean, like, take some of those
- 54:10guys that Quincy started in the 1 and 2 and went up to the
- 54:13floor. And never came back to.
- 54:15What is that? Dennis?
- 54:17Mitchell was a 400-meter guy that came down.
- 54:19But we've never seen a model where somebody consistently ran
- 54:22off, Sprint's, you know, to answer your question.
- 54:24It's not going to change anything in my does, the high
- 54:26school level? I mean, you get in the junior
- 54:29high and the club ranks. You always see the kids were the
- 54:32one, the two, and the four, heck, some of them run the
- 54:34eight, the 15 as well. No, I don't think there's no,
- 54:37there's not, there's not gonna be a college coach out there.
- 54:39A high school. Not to go all that.
- 54:41I got to develop this model of the 124 guy or girl.
- 54:44No, I don't got associate happen.
- 54:46When coaches are going to coach you to their strength around
- 54:48coach, what they've been coaching to, I think Fred's an
- 54:52outlier and the Boogeyman maybe as you call them but I don't see
- 54:57that Fred is the new Sprint. Type in this country I'm still
- 55:01not convinced. I've nobody knows what Michaels
- 55:03when I come home it's going to do but in the United States, the
- 55:08people with that skill set are Fred Michael bednarik who may
- 55:12never another Ford in Atlanta. So, you take those three guys on
- 55:16the table, where you got left? Sarika Jackson, he said in this
- 55:22country known as you'd say he did, he did say in this country,
- 55:27I agree on. So so, so on a planet with
- 55:29billions of people you got for, no, because I don't think that
- 55:36any of us would say that the current Olympic champion of the
- 55:41400 women side isn't doing all three.
- 55:44She may not go out. Serena will, well, I look at I
- 55:56look at it like this. The top 10.
- 56:02Okay. 100 200, 400 combinations. Are literally three different
- 56:10eras and it's fascinating. Okay.
- 56:13If you're starting from the past, you're talking about
- 56:17Michael Johnson and Mike Marsh that are in that top 10 list.
- 56:22then you're talking about gay, Blake Carter you saying, Okay,
- 56:32another error. And now you're talking about
- 56:36Norman curly bednarik and Van niekerk, who's not from any
- 56:43class. So there are more now Right
- 56:49there more that are running together.
- 56:52Now, that's why the question was asked.
- 56:55Yeah, because in it seems like, it's maybe I misunderstood the
- 56:59question because like I'm like, I don't see any of these guys,
- 57:03okay? Because somebody goes and runs
- 57:06100. Every now and then for training
- 57:08purposes, like Michael Johnson, ran to know, right?
- 57:11Like with the thank you, read it, sparingly invest.
- 57:15Yeah, so is the question I do. You think we're going to see
- 57:17people compete in all three? Of these at a high level all the
- 57:20time. Or when we will always see
- 57:24somebody dropped out from the corner and go, no Run, Run, 100,
- 57:28we always see a 100-meter person.
- 57:31Go run a for, I don't think that's going to change your.
- 57:33I don't think you ever see anybody that's going to be
- 57:35trying to compute them like the stuff that carry the Carly's
- 57:37doing. Yeah.
- 57:38You know. Let's let's let's see what
- 57:41Louis, let's see. What Fred's doing it.
- 57:43Yeah, let's see if he still pussy.
- 57:44Still up to these Shenanigans. And, and, and that's and that's
- 57:48why I If I understand lucious is point of view, I think I agree
- 57:53with lucious. I don't it we go back to a year
- 57:57ago, right? When we all looked at Fred and
- 58:00was like, dude, what are you doing?
- 58:02Great, you're crazy, you're stupid, you're insane, whatever
- 58:05your opinion was because no one thought it was a good idea
- 58:07outside of him in his Camp, okay?
- 58:13There's not a lot of human beings out there in the world
- 58:16mentally built, like, Fred Kirby, who would even attempt a
- 58:22full-scale flip. Like he did.
- 58:24No, I'm not just going to run the hundred for training.
- 58:27I'm going to go make this team and get a medal.
- 58:30Yeah, and I dare you to stop me. Hmm, I don't see that being the
- 58:35new Norm. I'm just not.
- 58:38Not that, not only can people not pull that off.
- 58:41Don't even think they're willing to attempt it now.
- 58:44It may make good business and if you could pull it off.
- 58:47Oh yeah. But imagine how bad of a
- 58:49business decision that would have been if he tried it and
- 58:54failed, because I'm pretty sure his contract is written in a way
- 58:58that stipulates he supposed to get medals in the 400.
- 59:01Right? So if you step out of your lane
- 59:05pun intended and don't pull it off, you just might have
- 59:09committed career suicide. Yeah, so I don't think there's a
- 59:13lot of people willing to jump in that kind of fight and because
- 59:18there's not, I don't think that there's going to you're going to
- 59:20see a trend of this. I just don't, I don't buy that.
- 59:24I always, you know, I feel like I feel like there's a
- 59:27possibility of it is like I mean we all we all remember a time
- 59:32where it was like it was unicorn is for people to desire to run
- 59:37seven steps in the hurdles and nobody ever went life.
- 59:40We want to have your friggin lead arm over your damn head and
- 59:43then one dude runs 1280. And next thing I know every High
- 59:47School coach the country is teaching both of those things.
- 59:50Different deal do bro. Yeah.
- 1:00:10Just like people, just the Box didn't fit like no.
- 1:00:13You should be running the to in the floor with those long
- 1:00:15strides and yada yada yada like I'm telling you right now.
- 1:00:17If Tommy Smith came around right now he'd be running though he be
- 1:00:20running the 1 and the 2 right because he had the foot speed
- 1:00:24and the leg length and I'm saying I think there's a lot.
- 1:00:27I think bolt broke the mold for a guy like Fred to think he
- 1:00:33could run the hundred right because now the math, all of a
- 1:00:35sudden the math and all of us wouldn't do not I don't mean us
- 1:00:38but like go there. Big, they shouldn't be run the
- 1:00:40hundred, right? And they're all pull call Poor
- 1:00:43starters. They was all the nonsense that
- 1:00:44was always said right now that that mold has been broken in.
- 1:00:47The math is different. Like there's a bunch of
- 1:00:49six-foot-four 65-inch kids that are running 100.
- 1:00:51Maybe most of them shouldn't be. You got like 17 of them.
- 1:00:55Don't Once I have to do is your question what it has to do with
- 1:01:04my question is, I think that there are there are more people
- 1:01:10out there who would have been to for guys, or even just for guys
- 1:01:15and women who I think their coaches are now going to be
- 1:01:19willing to, you know, you run a fast enough fly 30.
- 1:01:23Like I'm gonna put you on these people.
- 1:01:27You know what good because the white, the white Why the
- 1:01:30question was asked what she was wearing?
- 1:01:32Is this, the way the question was structured made me cry?
- 1:01:36So are you asking to the new trend going to be that the new
- 1:01:41Sprinter is going to be people like Fred trying to do all
- 1:01:45three? Yes, that's your question and
- 1:01:47your answer is no, absolutely not.
- 1:01:50And I yeah, the way you just started talking and getting into
- 1:01:54that it sounded like a totally different question.
- 1:01:56If Because now you're talking about size and stride lengths
- 1:01:59and stuff like that. So if you want to, so he
- 1:02:01definitely went around up, you went around the block.
- 1:02:03No, I didn't go around the block, I like I think that's the
- 1:02:05reason that the question came about.
- 1:02:07Oh no, I'm with you. I'm trying.
- 1:02:09I'm trying to follow you down around the block, if you will.
- 1:02:15If the question, if the spirit of what you're asking is bolt
- 1:02:20breaks the mold. Now, here comes Fred, will the
- 1:02:24people at the lower divisions. Collegiate sprinters and coaches
- 1:02:29High School sprinters and coaches.
- 1:02:31Take a new look at Sprint events in general and say, Hey, you
- 1:02:35know, tall, people can Sprint to sure.
- 1:02:38I'll give you that, but the question was originally framed
- 1:02:42as will this be a new mold at the top and I'm like, no hell
- 1:02:47no. And for the record because
- 1:02:49Trayvon and him ain't about start running 40s for lows.
- 1:02:53No, no. Because we could because it
- 1:02:56could because that But there was a trend there for a while, you
- 1:02:59know it was like no Carl knows, guys did it, you know, Tyson did
- 1:03:05it bolt bolt, did it, you know it.
- 1:03:08Hey, hey even asafa Powell tried to run afford it, which was
- 1:03:11very. So that was a trend amongst that
- 1:03:16group to have them go out and try to prove.
- 1:03:18They can run a fast one hundred about 400 because you know, I
- 1:03:21think it just goes back to the J.
- 1:03:23The J statement. You can't run around here.
- 1:03:25Can't go around the track, right?
- 1:03:27But I don't think there's no one out there in my life that I can
- 1:03:30remember this doing? What Freud, did, which was doing
- 1:03:33and what he did? No, so I do I think it's going
- 1:03:35to be a trend. Absolutely.
- 1:03:36Not, you know I think it's weird.
- 1:03:38You have somebody else. Before everyone.
- 1:04:11Pushes pause to go find the video.
- 1:04:14So, let's address this last. Jaw-dropping part and
- 1:04:19jaw-dropping for other reasons. Oh, boy.
- 1:04:23I mean, the slap heard around the world and seen on everyone's
- 1:04:27screen. And I don't want to do video of
- 1:04:33it today. Two.
- 1:04:34Very interesting. I'm gonna go first because I
- 1:04:37because I know if I go last, I'm going to be mad by the time we
- 1:04:41get to me. So I want to, I want to be
- 1:04:43clear-headed when I speak. Look at you.
- 1:04:52As you rise in stature, you are often. you're often faced with
- 1:05:04the rules of the new versus the rules.
- 1:05:07You grew up with. and, Most people most of us we side with
- 1:05:18the rules of, you know, of the Ascension, as opposed to where
- 1:05:23you grew, you know, your where you grew up from.
- 1:05:25So you're supposed to grow and mature and get better and not do
- 1:05:30things that you would have done from whence, you came. clearly,
- 1:05:36that went out the window, in this particular case, If given
- 1:05:44any moment of clear mind like 1 1 nanosecond to take a breath
- 1:05:52and asked, will if someone tells a joke not even a you know, not
- 1:06:01not even a particularly harsh joke but tells a joke about Jada
- 1:06:05that you don't like, should you A B C or D?
- 1:06:11Slap the fire out of them? All worldwide TV.
- 1:06:14If given even a nanosecond to think about his answer, there's
- 1:06:18no chance he picks d. But when you're in a place and I
- 1:06:23don't know where he's at mentally but clearly he was in a
- 1:06:25place of reactionary. Vigor.
- 1:06:33Man disrespected his wife that ain't happening walks up on the
- 1:06:37stage disrespects. Man.
- 1:06:43I know he's human and we all make human mistakes.
- 1:06:45I do I completely get it. I'm still flabbergasted at the
- 1:06:52fact that it happened. It took me two days to actually,
- 1:06:55to actually accept the fact that it really happened, that it
- 1:06:58wasn't staged because I'll be honest with you.
- 1:07:00Both those two are really good actors and that thought kept
- 1:07:03fighting in my head, but this ain't real.
- 1:07:06We're all being duped, this is a way to get get a community that
- 1:07:10doesn't usually talk about the Oscars to talk about the Oscars
- 1:07:13like I heard. All right.
- 1:07:15But after seeing that video enough times I I'm like nope
- 1:07:19that really Happened. He was really mad.
- 1:07:20He really lost his mind. And, and seeing Chris Rock's
- 1:07:24complete and utter befuddle meant, you know, the more times
- 1:07:27you watch it, you can just watch Chris Rock afterwards and you
- 1:07:30can see, like, he's talking to people in the back of the
- 1:07:32cities. Like I have no idea what the
- 1:07:33hell just happened. I will just say this, I'm left
- 1:07:38with this because I don't want to steal all the points and I
- 1:07:40really want to hear what you guys have to say.
- 1:07:42I am shocked flabbergasted and honestly proudly amazed at Chris
- 1:07:49Rock Because Chris Rock is from the very same neighborhood and
- 1:07:54from the very same time, as me, he is from Bed-Stuy and where we
- 1:07:59grew up, I don't care how much money you have.
- 1:08:02I don't care how much money you may jeopardize.
- 1:08:04If a man slaps, you in public in that fashion, you probably die
- 1:08:09trying to kill him. And, and the fact that he, I
- 1:08:15just need people to really understand like he made an
- 1:08:18incredible job. joke, immediately after being smacked,
- 1:08:23he said that was The greatest night on television history.
- 1:08:28Hmm look bro, I promise you if it's me and I love to believe
- 1:08:33that I have restraint and such and Sir lucious and I have
- 1:08:36talked about this 15 different times.
- 1:08:40There's no shock that I don't tackle that dude.
- 1:08:44No shot. And I think even if even if
- 1:08:48given like you know the clarity of 50 plus years I still would
- 1:08:53have at least said immediately with a live mic y'all know I'm a
- 1:08:58whoop his ass from the show's over right?
- 1:09:00Like there's like there's just no way I could have let it go
- 1:09:04the way he did publicly and for that like look I give Chris Rock
- 1:09:08Lee that he should get an Academy Award for that.
- 1:09:13That's my, that's my take. Oh no, you better know, you've
- 1:09:19been rubbing your hands all day, bro.
- 1:09:20I'm definitely not going before. You saw see if the governor's
- 1:09:23going that I'm going left. I want to hear this.
- 1:09:29I I wasn't even tuned in so everything that I saw came after
- 1:09:40it had already happened and I played it back.
- 1:09:45I don't like okay this is scripted played it back again.
- 1:09:50No. And then you know so the the
- 1:09:55version I saw was the the u.s. TV version that was you know,
- 1:10:00blanked out. Then I watched the Japanese
- 1:10:05version. and, So you're talking about a sequence of events where
- 1:10:14Joe has made a man gets up strides onto the stage slaps.
- 1:10:22Another man turns around and goes and sits down and then
- 1:10:26twice shouts out. Keep my wife's name out of your
- 1:10:33effing mouth and It was like okay this is temporary insanity.
- 1:10:42This is this is a this is a period in time where nothing
- 1:10:48else exists and It was like for that Split Second.
- 1:10:56I don't know Will Smith realize where he was or what he was
- 1:11:02doing, and he sat there and it was like, all right, carry on
- 1:11:12couple minutes later, he wins the award, he's on stage, he's
- 1:11:16crying, he's effusive, he is, he is apologizing, I mean I know.
- 1:11:24Of all on of all movies, Okay? He is playing a man that spent
- 1:11:34his entire life, protecting his daughters, his wife. and it was
- 1:11:42like, So I mean, the way I think, right?
- 1:11:46I'm like so that this happen in direct relation with the role
- 1:11:52that this man has won an Oscar for like, what are we, what are
- 1:11:56we watching here? You know.
- 1:12:00So I don't know. I I absolutely hate this because
- 1:12:12this, this is, you know, the the statement that he mentioned in
- 1:12:16his acceptance speech, where Denzel said to him in your
- 1:12:20moment of your highest moment. The devil is coming for you and
- 1:12:28I'm just going, holy cow. Right.
- 1:12:33This is this. This is this is as high as this
- 1:12:35man has ever gotten. This is the ultimate sign of
- 1:12:39respect in this industry and he will not be remembered for that.
- 1:12:46He will be remembered for his actions and its roof.
- 1:12:53It's poetic it is it is something that is going to
- 1:12:57follow him, you know, for the rest of his life.
- 1:13:02And it's sad. It's a sad commentary and I'm
- 1:13:07still processing it. So you know, that's all I have
- 1:13:13to say about it. I mean, it's I don't know what
- 1:13:15else to say really. But it was just you would like
- 1:13:19me to go now. Absolutely would.
- 1:13:23I'm rubbing my hands and I got I got jokes and everything but
- 1:13:27there's nothing actually funny about any of this to me.
- 1:13:32Full context. Full transparency.
- 1:13:36I am a lifelong lifelong. Fan of Jada Pinkett.
- 1:13:44And you know Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is one of those shows,
- 1:13:48you know that I kind of grew up on, right?
- 1:13:52I've always had the utmost respect for the Arc of the
- 1:13:57career. That is Will Smith.
- 1:14:00I'm a fan of Comedy, Chris Rock is amazing.
- 1:14:03I think he's a, you know, all-time great comic.
- 1:14:05He's not in my top five but like, he's on the list, right?
- 1:14:11So to watch this play out in real time because I am a huge
- 1:14:17Hollywood fan fanatic. So I was watching live.
- 1:14:23To watch that play out live. Even with the thing that let me
- 1:14:30know, it was real was the fact that they cut the mics.
- 1:14:35Because I was like, what Lou what it looked staged in the in
- 1:14:39the second. Because let's be clear because I
- 1:14:41like facts Will Smith thought that that joke was hilarious.
- 1:14:51He was mouth open wide laughing out loud at the joke.
- 1:14:59Jay didn't find it funny, which I find puzzling because there
- 1:15:04are videos out in on, in the world, just preceding the events
- 1:15:09where Jada is openly talking about, her little alopecia
- 1:15:11situation, and says, quote all I can do about this as laughs.
- 1:15:15What else can you do? Okay.
- 1:15:20This is incredibly sad for me because I have to like I have to
- 1:15:30turn in my fan card of both of these people.
- 1:15:35Oh Jaden will and trust me. I defended Jada at all cost.
- 1:15:43This is a Shakespearean tragedy for Will Smith.
- 1:15:49Because this is his legacy now. It just is for all the good
- 1:15:55works. He's done.
- 1:15:57For all the things that he is out in the world attempting to
- 1:16:00promote, this is the way he will ultimately be remembered, and
- 1:16:06it's sad because what I witnessed on that stage was the
- 1:16:11ultimate beta move, weak cowardly, move that I've ever
- 1:16:19witnessed in real life from a male.
- 1:16:22It was beta all the way. And then for him to get the
- 1:16:28award, which I predicted, like, people phones are blowing up.
- 1:16:32I'm sitting there texting like, did you see that?
- 1:16:34Yeah, I was like, watch what's going to happen.
- 1:16:36He gonna win this award for best actor because he clearly was
- 1:16:40that this year He made it ten times worse by going on that
- 1:16:44stage and gaslighting America, because make no mistake about
- 1:16:49it. That's exactly what that whole
- 1:16:50speech. Was grade, a level pure
- 1:16:54definition of gaslighting, bro, you're not Richard Williams, you
- 1:16:58weren't up there defending, your wife, your wife was in no
- 1:17:02danger. She was irritated.
- 1:17:07She was irritated. And you thought it was funny.
- 1:17:12That man went up there and gas-lit America from the stage
- 1:17:17with his crocodile tears and all this other, that the speech was
- 1:17:20his best acting performance I've ever seen.
- 1:17:24It really was. That man, if you read Wills book
- 1:17:28and I haven't read it, but I've listened to half of it.
- 1:17:32The opening thing that he talks about in his book is he
- 1:17:34literally says, I've all my life, I felt like a coward and
- 1:17:37he goes into the story about how when his mother was being beaten
- 1:17:41by his father at a young age, he never did anything about it.
- 1:17:43You never stood up for, he never did any of that.
- 1:17:46So you whole life you felt like a coward and then in this moment
- 1:17:49you turned into a bully Sit Will Smith is 62 200 something
- 1:17:54pounds. Chris Rock is a little as to you
- 1:17:57walked on that stage and assaulted a black man.
- 1:18:01In front of millions and millions of people.
- 1:18:04And then turned around and looked had your chest pumped out
- 1:18:07and walk back to the seat. Like you did something worthy
- 1:18:11like you did something cool. Like your the like you're the
- 1:18:14guy that was a clown beta cowardly act and Bravo to Chris
- 1:18:22Rock, because he's a better man than I ever will be.
- 1:18:25Oh, there's there's no there's no way and I know I have
- 1:18:28composer. I would have curb stomp wheel or
- 1:18:32done my best to try. And my issue is this if if you
- 1:18:40want to get into the whole joke thing, look there's two ways to
- 1:18:43look at that joke. It was a super surface-level
- 1:18:46joke and a very obvious one because the girl sitting in the
- 1:18:49front row with a bald head The joke is about the movie g.i.
- 1:18:54Jane played by Demi Moore, right?
- 1:18:58It was a very easy, surface-level joke, the anybody
- 1:19:01could have made in any comedian, probably would have made because
- 1:19:03it was easy. Jimmy Kimmel makes that joke.
- 1:19:07Jimmy Fallon makes that joke Will Smith doesn't get onto the
- 1:19:11good. Doesn't walk up stage and
- 1:19:12slapping doesn't happen. Or you could look at The Jug,
- 1:19:16like, I see it. Which was Chris, Rock is a
- 1:19:19comedic comic genius. Who is Demi Moore Demi Moore is
- 1:19:23a woman who cheated on her ex on her husband at the time with a
- 1:19:28younger man. So if you want to go Sinister
- 1:19:32and diabolical about the joke that was some next-level petty,
- 1:19:35brilliance by Chris Rock. Either way, Will Smith has been
- 1:19:41participating in his own emasculation for a really long
- 1:19:45time. And now you in your feelings.
- 1:19:49And you mad at the whole world. So you go up there and do that
- 1:19:53to Chris Rock. Nah, bro.
- 1:19:56I'm sorry, I'm off the wagon. I'm off the train.
- 1:20:01Jada is God. She pushed that button in 3
- 1:20:06seconds with a look. With a look. and if that is the
- 1:20:11state of the world that Will Smith is currently living in, He
- 1:20:15just a beta male who I have no respect for as a man.
- 1:20:20Good actor but I've known do is like that my whole life and I
- 1:20:24never had any respect for him and he showed the world who he
- 1:20:28is today and I can't rock with it.
- 1:20:31So, Elliott track. Well, I find all that
- 1:20:38interesting. I know some of the things that
- 1:20:42you said in your journey around the block workings, I've read
- 1:20:48and heard in social media, you know, your comment, that it was
- 1:20:54a white comedian. He wouldn't have hit him.
- 1:20:57I find that interesting because nobody knows, it could have been
- 1:21:02red, white people Brown. I don't think there's any way
- 1:21:04you can say he wouldn't have hit whoever it was Will Smith is not
- 1:21:09the first nor is he the last man that has gotten over work from
- 1:21:12his wife or significant other and then went to her rescue?
- 1:21:16He won't be wasn't the first. He won't be the last the thing
- 1:21:19that I have been appalled by us and somehow this has become
- 1:21:22about race and you know our race is always judged by things that
- 1:21:27we do in public but no other race is because because if Will
- 1:21:34Smith is a definition of a black man that's a coward.
- 1:21:37Because what he did was, as you say cowardly, then what does
- 1:21:42that speak about all the white men that were, at the Capitol,
- 1:21:46right? So some point in time, we got to
- 1:21:48stop, wait, hold on, Kiki's redo that connection, because that's
- 1:21:51not what I said. I didn't add any sense what you
- 1:21:54said. Okay, I didn't mention your
- 1:21:55name. Thank you.
- 1:21:57Yeah. So at the end of the day for me,
- 1:22:00yeah, I'm gonna choose compassion here because nobody
- 1:22:02knows what that man's been through about a men's at those.
- 1:22:05What what he's continued. What do you may be?
- 1:22:07Continue to go through. Oh yes, Mom, nobody knows
- 1:22:14exactly what the man goes to. The guy was George Williams
- 1:22:17loves to say, can't do the play, if you're not in the hospital
- 1:22:19and nobody, not everybody's in that huddle, you know, was we
- 1:22:24have all been talking about for the last year or more mental
- 1:22:26health. Mental issues are real, and I'm
- 1:22:29agree with the governor, that clearly there was a very mental
- 1:22:32moment there. So, again, I'm going to Say this
- 1:22:37clear loud scream not about race.
- 1:22:42Again, other races are never defined by the idiocy of the
- 1:22:45things that they do publicly, right?
- 1:22:48And I'm not gonna allow anybody in my presence, any way to
- 1:22:51define the African-American race.
- 1:22:52But what Will Smith did? I am not going to choose to bash
- 1:22:58Will Smith and make him a coward or any other things that people
- 1:23:01have called it because he had a weak moment in his life because
- 1:23:05Each of us is better than the worst thing I've ever done in
- 1:23:08our life, okay. I don't see why this is one of
- 1:23:11the find him. I don't believe that, you know,
- 1:23:14will people talk about it a lot? They will.
- 1:23:16But was it to be an amiss had a brilliant career?
- 1:23:19And this one moment I'm going to overshot every good thing he's
- 1:23:21ever done this. Like I just find that very hard
- 1:23:23to believe so didn't of the day. Am I back in with what he did.
- 1:23:28Absolutely not. But I'm also going to have some
- 1:23:31compassion for the man because he had a weak moment.
- 1:23:33We've all had them. I know I have and done things
- 1:23:36that I regret it later. I know good and damn well, I've
- 1:23:39gone to my wife's rescue and sometimes going.
- 1:23:42I probably could have handled that better.
- 1:23:44And so as a man and who knows that we are humans and we make
- 1:23:50mistakes, then I'm just going to be compassionate and prayed.
- 1:23:53It will gets better and that it doesn't happen again to those
- 1:23:58out there who know said, you know, I would have did this to
- 1:24:02him. I would do that to him, you're
- 1:24:03not Chris Rock. And there are five of us on this
- 1:24:06on this, the screen all five of us would handle the situation
- 1:24:10differently. So you can never say what what
- 1:24:13he or she would have should none.
- 1:24:15You can talk about what you would have done or think you
- 1:24:17would have done anyway but you can't talk about what somebody
- 1:24:20else should have done. Chris hit, Chris Rock held at
- 1:24:22the way he wanted to handle it, kudos to him.
- 1:24:25So I would like people to get off of this train of what Chris
- 1:24:30Rock should have done calling will outside of who he really.
- 1:24:34Is a, who you perceive them to be as a compassion for the man,
- 1:24:37he had a weak moment. Okay.
- 1:24:40And in fact, that, that one moment, if you or anybody else
- 1:24:43wants to Define Will Smith for that one moment in his life,
- 1:24:46shame on all of you because like I said, each of us is greater
- 1:24:51than the worst thing you've ever done.
- 1:24:53Yeah, I agree with that sentiment, sure.
- 1:24:56But The greatest moment, Wilson actor.
- 1:25:01He's been working his whole life for the moment.
- 1:25:03He was meant to have on that stage at that event.
- 1:25:08His whole career will is a brilliant actor.
- 1:25:11He's been doing many movies. That a lot of people say he
- 1:25:13should have got this for, he should have got that for The,
- 1:25:17the highest moment of his career he took away from himself.
- 1:25:22He did that. And the Denzel quote is
- 1:25:25brilliant, but let's see. See, again, we want to paint
- 1:25:29this scenario. Okay?
- 1:25:31You can, you are in. You are entitled to your
- 1:25:33opinion, Clyde. You are.
- 1:25:35Okay. Even have no idea.
- 1:25:37What goes on that man's head? Go, let me let me be clear.
- 1:25:40Any guinea pig? If you feel like that day, he
- 1:25:44messed up the moment. Of course he did.
- 1:25:47You you nor anybody else does not inside that Circle.
- 1:25:52This not inside his head. Will ever.
- 1:25:54Really know what triggered that? Let me, let me be clear.
- 1:25:58I agree with you on that. I'm telling I'm here to tell you
- 1:26:01that, I don't care. Okay.
- 1:26:03Then why don't we share it all and we should move Denzel quote,
- 1:26:07the Denzel quote, I don't care what triggered it.
- 1:26:11I don't care what the excuses are.
- 1:26:13I care about the actions can answer your question.
- 1:26:16Can I ask you a question? Good.
- 1:26:17Would you really sit there and tell me you never done anything
- 1:26:20in your life? That you read immediately
- 1:26:22regretted. I should have done.
- 1:26:25I've never done. I've never done that.
- 1:26:27Okay, because you know what? I'm sure.
- 1:26:28There's things that you've done it.
- 1:26:30He's never done. Don't but we should we shouldn't
- 1:26:33judge other people. What I do.
- 1:26:34Oh, I'm judgy-wudgy right now. I'm good with that.
- 1:26:37I'm here, I do always have, I'm sorry, time out.
- 1:26:46Reference, I think City wrestling league, I think,
- 1:26:50personally, we should move forward.
- 1:26:53I don't think we should spend a lot of time, you know, bashing a
- 1:26:55man because he had because he had a bad moment in his life.
- 1:26:58That's just that's cool. You haven't asked him yet?
- 1:27:01I'm here. I'm not worried about you.
- 1:27:03I know, of course, you are. The governor can you throughout
- 1:27:06the Denzel quote? Hmm, which was, which was a
- 1:27:09brilliant quote and very apropos.
- 1:27:12Denzel said that to that man during the break while he he's
- 1:27:16trying to get the man to come to his senses and what himself and
- 1:27:20what did Will Smith do Will Smith took that quote up on
- 1:27:24stage and inserted it into his speech, as if to refer to Chris
- 1:27:29Rock as the devil in the situation?
- 1:27:32No, no, that's not what you do know.
- 1:27:58Okay. I kind of grew up in the same
- 1:28:17same rules. How how in your life in your
- 1:28:24social life? Have you typically responded to
- 1:28:26Beta male Behavior? It gets washed There it is right
- 1:28:34there. What is that?
- 1:28:36She understands where I'm at with?
- 1:28:38This is the ultimate, he's not he's not the definition of bad
- 1:28:51black, male Behavior. He's the definition of a simple,
- 1:28:54that's what he is. So here two cents and then and
- 1:28:58there only one it does get squashed right?
- 1:29:01Like like you Literally just give him the and then you just
- 1:29:04like hand in the face, push it down, whatever it is but I'll
- 1:29:09say in that Forum when I'm when I'm on national TV doing this
- 1:29:15grandiose thing and he's hosting and what not I don't know that I
- 1:29:19would have responded to do the same, you know, and and to put
- 1:29:24it in Chris Rock's perspective and then flipping the other
- 1:29:26side, you know. Having that Outburst in that
- 1:29:31reaction. I guess it depends on the very
- 1:29:36moment like how vulnerable and I'm at that moment as to how big
- 1:29:41it gets and so that part so I mean I've definitely like My
- 1:29:47version of Will Smith's reaction is someone pissed me off the
- 1:29:50right time with the right thing with the right word and I threw
- 1:29:53the keys at them and I'm not a throwback.
- 1:29:56He's kind of person. Yeah.
- 1:29:58But I suppose I've also had someone blow up blow up at me
- 1:30:01and I'm like, okay. Are you done?
- 1:30:04And with that was it, you know and not even like a sassy, are
- 1:30:07you done? It was like are you done?
- 1:30:08So I can help you get back to a place that I know you were at.
- 1:30:13Just just understand as we get more and more days away from the
- 1:30:18actual event. More information continues to
- 1:30:21leak out and video leaked out today from a different angle of
- 1:30:25someone with a cell phone camera.
- 1:30:26Sitting behind Lupita Nyong'o, who is sitting directly behind
- 1:30:30both of them. Jada was laughing after will
- 1:30:35slap Chris. She was not even upset or hurt
- 1:30:39or in distress. She fought his actions were
- 1:30:42Funny. The one person in the venue that
- 1:30:46thought that was funny and knew it was real.
- 1:30:48In the moment thought it was funny.
- 1:30:51Y'all got to understand, man. It's, it's just it's wrong.
- 1:30:56Every please explain. Okay.
- 1:30:57Look, nobody is going and nobody on these tiles and said that he
- 1:31:01was right, okay? But see, I'm going to say this
- 1:31:05and I'm done at mean. I'm done, right?
- 1:31:08We need to move the fuck on, I'm done.
- 1:31:10Okay, we have to stop with this. Credible nonsense of destroying
- 1:31:17a person because it had a bad moment because we've all had
- 1:31:21them, okay. The man had a bad moment and now
- 1:31:24he's the worst person on the planet.
- 1:31:25I don't get it okay? I don't care who video what and
- 1:31:29who was laughing and who wasn't. Okay?
- 1:31:31The man has been in the spotlight for years.
- 1:31:35Doing great things in his career, he has one bad moment
- 1:31:39and now he's the worst person on the planet.
- 1:31:41I don't get it. No, I want to get it.
- 1:31:44I really like the movie. He's far from the worst person.
- 1:31:47I really, I really can't do this anymore tonight.
- 1:31:51I can't. I'm all rapid fire on fire at
- 1:31:55me. Please gluten is way closer to
- 1:31:57the worst person on Will Smith alone.
- 1:32:02Especially because trust me Everybody on this panel, well,
- 1:32:08three of us for sure. My cell phone number, including
- 1:32:12those three. I have witnessed us do things
- 1:32:16not to that level. I haven't seen the governor
- 1:32:19haven't seen, what I've seen both of you.
- 1:32:22Other two at your best and I know I can be walking out.
- 1:32:25Okay. I promise you like this.
- 1:32:29Yeah, so let's stop. I have no idea what you're
- 1:32:33talking about, all right? I'm totally confused with that.
- 1:32:37No, I was kidding. I absolutely know what he's
- 1:32:39talking about. I literally have no idea so
- 1:32:41post. So I'd love to hear that.
- 1:32:43Go ahead. All right.
- 1:32:47Well let's go ahead and put Solutions in that rapid fire and
- 1:32:52see him move some Matrix moves. I think I think I got some
- 1:32:56pretty good ones but I'm sure that's Up For Debate every time
- 1:32:59after it'll be suspected, always it never does.
- 1:33:08All right sir, what is a family tradition that you hold on, too
- 1:33:12tight? And we tradition what's G family
- 1:33:19traditional? Oh I mean Probably the biggest
- 1:33:23family tradition we have is the oak.
- 1:33:25The Christmas festivities opening gifts the night before
- 1:33:29Christmas, and then getting up early the next morning and
- 1:33:32opening up the rest. I will met.
- 1:33:33That's a tradition. We hold onto around pretty guy.
- 1:33:36Got it. That's a good Goodwin.
- 1:33:38When was your last moving violation like your last ticket?
- 1:33:46Two. Thousand and ten know how does
- 1:33:51India? 2001.
- 1:33:56Wow. 1020 is bent MJ, was a baby.
- 1:33:58That's my brother - where you going?
- 1:34:03Oh yeah, back there. Cop has since been fired and
- 1:34:08removed from the force. No, no, no.
- 1:34:10Like I got I got, I got this ticket in Georgia.
- 1:34:14Yeah. Going back from my mom, Angela
- 1:34:17Grandma's house. Yikes, get away fast enough.
- 1:34:24I'm holding, fast. I'm holding fast as you'd uses?
- 1:34:28Yeah, I'm not going to say it. You didn't say, do you know who
- 1:34:31I am? You didn't say that.
- 1:34:32Yeah, he was in Georgia. When you were a kid, did you
- 1:34:51want to be a coach when he grew up?
- 1:34:54I wanted to be a lawyer when I was a kid.
- 1:34:59See there's a lot of ways I am I am.
- 1:35:04All right, and I forgive me if I'm saying this wrong because I
- 1:35:09I always say it differently. Whenever I would try to read it,
- 1:35:12are you in the bowl bowls Hall of Fame?
- 1:35:16Oh, Liz Hall of Fame. The high school that you go that
- 1:35:19bullets, holes holes. You holes, you also.
- 1:35:29Do you hope is true true. There are two different schools
- 1:35:35there. There's a bowls and there's a
- 1:35:37blue holes, put a bowl. All right, we're gonna have to
- 1:35:54do a digital. That what is your meat day
- 1:36:00snack? Like, if I have a my whiskey
- 1:36:06Uncrustables cry. Never Cry.
- 1:36:09Never, I don't, I'll really get my way so most times.
- 1:36:14It's just like, I'm a cashews guy.
- 1:36:17I love cashews, got it. Is there anyone that you haven't
- 1:36:24met yet? That you are waiting to meet
- 1:36:29Yeah. I mean, this place is people
- 1:36:34that out that I would like to meet For the record he said that
- 1:36:51that's the people that I haven't met that.
- 1:36:54I would really like to me I would really like to meet
- 1:36:58Michael Jordan and I would really like a guy what I really
- 1:37:07wanted to meet but I don't know if I'm an I was trying to get in
- 1:37:10touch with the final contact from about 2 years ago.
- 1:37:12So goddamn contract Hollow it. That was the starting
- 1:37:15quarterback for Tennessee back in the middle of the 70s.
- 1:37:20You know, breaking racial barriers have just wanted to
- 1:37:22have a conversation with them. So those are the two people I
- 1:37:24love to have a conversation. That's cool which event went.
- 1:37:31So like you've won the event will always give you a little
- 1:37:34giggle inside. Post what I want.
- 1:37:39Oh yeah. Well that was part that was
- 1:37:42person. I mean it's just like the bite
- 1:37:45my two favorite events from the chaos standpoint is the for y1
- 1:37:50and not in the high hurdles. That's why I love him so much
- 1:37:52because it's just you live on the edge throughout the whole
- 1:37:54thing, you know, and make sense. Thank you.
- 1:37:57You watching the floor one year, I pass the stick pass, the stick
- 1:38:00watching hurdles, put your feet down.
- 1:38:01Put your feet down, right? All right, last one for me,
- 1:38:09besides Rings. What do you collect?
- 1:38:15I like that the way your Jordans.
- 1:38:24So side note, I think that Nationals I had intended to take
- 1:38:32a shoe pick with you and I forgot because we had the same
- 1:38:36shoes different color ways, but I'll take it.
- 1:38:42Anyhow, we'll get them. All right, gentlemen.
- 1:38:47Floor is yours. You have to unmute yourself full
- 1:38:56down before you try to open it. Okay.
- 1:39:04The academy has decided to put will under investigation for his
- 1:39:09actions, if they take away his Oscar, who should it?
- 1:39:13Go to You asking me that question?
- 1:39:18Yeah, that's my ratified was. Okay.
- 1:39:21So here's my answer to that. I don't watch that show.
- 1:39:24I haven't watched that show. Since I was a child, I can care
- 1:39:27less. I'll need all you watch movies
- 1:39:29like that. So this is real.
- 1:39:32Give it to Denzel for Macbeth. I haven't seen Macbeth.
- 1:39:37That's even better guys. See Denzel do Shakespeare.
- 1:39:42I didn't even know that was a thing.
- 1:40:36First off, I just want to say to the to the fan base out there.
- 1:40:40Listen, when you have Garrett's Popcorn sitting directly in
- 1:40:43front of you, it is humanly impossible to not eat it for
- 1:40:46over an hour. So yes, I did mute myself.
- 1:40:49And yes, I did eat popcorn on the show because I have
- 1:40:52Garrett's in this bowl and y'all are mad that you don't.
- 1:40:56So anyway, I don't know. I always try to be enlightening
- 1:41:04in my rapid fire questions with service, just because I
- 1:41:07unfortunately for most I'm really close to the dude.
- 1:41:11So I know most of the answers these things, I'll try to ask
- 1:41:14entertaining questions that the rest of the world wouldn't
- 1:41:17really know. So I'll ask a good question.
- 1:41:25At least I think is a good question.
- 1:41:28What song did you dance with your wife to for your first
- 1:41:35dance at your wedding? I'm sorry what?
- 1:41:47This is the dude that can remember Josh Walker's, like
- 1:41:50high school hundred meter PD and you don't remember what song you
- 1:41:53dance to I know but and I don't know she remembers but, I'm
- 1:42:07going to find out what we know though that's holistically
- 1:42:11unacceptable and I will have to mute myself and ask another
- 1:42:13question after the governor All right. so you have been at the
- 1:42:29University of Florida for how long now my 27th year 27th year
- 1:42:35Okay. You have packed up bags and gone
- 1:42:43on trips, at least. Ten times a year.
- 1:42:48I mean, if you even if you add cross in the media talking about
- 1:42:5212 to 14 trips a year, okay? Can you remember the absolute
- 1:42:59worst trip? That you've taken in your time
- 1:43:04at Florida with, with the team, the worst trip.
- 1:43:12Okay. Well, you know, Possibly the
- 1:43:15worst ship was the trip. We took to Fayetteville Arkansas
- 1:43:19and we had to sleep in the Atlanta airport on the floor
- 1:43:23and, you know, me, I travel in a suit.
- 1:43:26So that was really comfortable. And I slept on a table that
- 1:43:30night, the airport has a hotel in airports or why you ain't
- 1:43:38just do that cuz because there were still have enough room for
- 1:43:43all. Ugh, yeah.
- 1:43:44Oh, I'm sure for all the all I'm saying, why you?
- 1:43:46And the suit? No, leave the assistance to it.
- 1:43:51And I, you know, I I happen to have a from the airport.
- 1:43:59She told us, she told me there's this Big Board Room, it was
- 1:44:03plenty of spaces on the floor. Is that the floor wasn't
- 1:44:06actually that bad. It's just that the team took up
- 1:44:09most the for space. So I step on the time That's
- 1:44:13your good leaders. Just I understand Huff would
- 1:44:18have been in Terminal A or whatever it is in the hotel like
- 1:44:24college. Cuz that we got there.
- 1:44:40Okay, okay, because it's the crazy thing was we got there.
- 1:44:43My bags didn't get there. Hmm.
- 1:44:45Excited to go shopping and buy all new clothes and stuff and
- 1:44:48then we get back to games while our bags when they're waiting
- 1:44:50for us, which is Magic while all that happened.
- 1:44:53So yeah. Yeah.
- 1:44:58So you another question knows nothing or we get.
- 1:45:02I do. I do things you've never done in
- 1:45:09your life yet and you only get to have one of them ever happen.
- 1:45:15Bowl of 300. Coach a gold medalist.
- 1:45:23Actually, I'm sorry that's happened.
- 1:45:25Duh. Hey man, I tried is why you only
- 1:45:30get one and not to it's late. It's late, it's late.
- 1:45:34I want to eat my popcorn clearly.
- 1:45:39I'm like, wait a minute. I would like when I coached the
- 1:45:41gold medal. Yeah, more than one.
- 1:45:43And it's and then the 300 thing I'm just I'm just come to the
- 1:45:47realization that if it happens, it happens, if it doesn't.
- 1:45:50It's done. Like I'm not I'm not chasing
- 1:45:53that. I'm not chasing a guy.
- 1:45:54That's like that's like a dog. Chasing his tail about them.
- 1:45:56Not doing. Yeah, not doing it.
- 1:46:00They've had if it's meant to happen, it will happen if it
- 1:46:02doesn't, you know, hey, I'm just gonna go and have fun because I
- 1:46:07had a good friend of mine. Mine 4289 cup about a month and
- 1:46:13a half ago. He hadn't broken 200 cents.
- 1:46:19Does he carry? Nice.
- 1:46:20I got a ball 300. I said to him, I said, so the
- 1:46:22night when you vote to 18 hour, you think about Community goes,
- 1:46:24of course not, I'm like a task by boat to 89.
- 1:46:27Mmm. So he goes in there every week,
- 1:46:30I'm ballin 380s, like 190 something every time now.
- 1:46:34Good job. Ra Yeah.
- 1:46:38All right. Well, that was a good one to end
- 1:46:42on boys sincerely. So we'll wrap up quickly and out
- 1:46:47quickly with heartbeat props just giving some recognition.
- 1:46:52Some lift up some Shining Light to some people who need it, who
- 1:46:56deserve it? Oh you don't, I'll go first.
- 1:47:03This isn't something. I don't know.
- 1:47:04It's not a harpy prop, her say, but maybe just a little boost up
- 1:47:09recently here in the last couple weeks.
- 1:47:11But specifically last week social media has gotten a little
- 1:47:15spicy with the words that go to Sur starting to use topics.
- 1:47:20Finger-pointing things of that nature and I specifically am
- 1:47:23saying this but coaches because that's who I am specifically
- 1:47:27talking to not people in general but But to me in the indicator
- 1:47:32to that is because we're all getting a little tired, right?
- 1:47:35We've completed in door, we're going out door at this point,
- 1:47:39we've hit the height of our travel and it's still going.
- 1:47:44And so we're being nitpicky at things that we see.
- 1:47:48I think that being said so I am here, lifting you all up to say,
- 1:47:54take a breath to take a step back to stop reacting and to
- 1:48:00enjoy What we do because we love what we do.
- 1:48:02Love the student-athletes, we work with, we love all these
- 1:48:05things that are happening, we don't need to nitpick them, read
- 1:48:08them and move on. They are what they are.
- 1:48:13Let people think what they want to think.
- 1:48:16But find the joy in all of it that we all get to coach these
- 1:48:21wonderful diverse athletes whether they're diverse and
- 1:48:23talent Iverson personalities or whatever.
- 1:48:25It is, just for Joyce, didn't take a breath smile, at it, keep
- 1:48:31scrolling. Well said, I'll go next.
- 1:48:39We are celebrating 50 years of athletic to the University of
- 1:48:43Florida and I think most of the world knows that we want our
- 1:48:51second in CA into a championship in school history here, I want
- 1:48:55to give heartbeat props two, female coaches, who were for me,
- 1:49:03Miss Carol Thompson. It's Lacey O'Neill and coach Bob
- 1:49:07Kearney who actually won the title.
- 1:49:10Last, the first item, we were one year indoors and 30 years
- 1:49:13ago. You know, they blazed the trail
- 1:49:17when they were doing this. They face a lot more obstacles
- 1:49:21that I currently face and it's not for them and their hard
- 1:49:26work. We might not have a woman tried
- 1:49:28to talk to a program that University of Florida.
- 1:49:29So, Laura popsicles, those three wonderful ladies and I hope that
- 1:49:33they're all doing well. I'm sure no one will see this
- 1:49:35baby. I don't talk about it, the more
- 1:49:40I need the money, help your the EP I am.
- 1:49:46So I do Harvey props or Petty Harpy crops I mean there's
- 1:49:51absolutely no question. You should do Penny Harpy props
- 1:49:54because you're peddling. All right, so my heartbeat props
- 1:49:58this week go out to the State of Florida.
- 1:50:01I take a lot of shots at State of Florida, usually in jest.
- 1:50:05But two incredibly positive things happened in the State of
- 1:50:09Florida this week one. From a track of field
- 1:50:14perspective, it was announced that starting next year.
- 1:50:18The State of Florida is going to move to 400 meter hurdles for
- 1:50:22high school athletes Bravo. Thank thank you.
- 1:50:27Whoever is responsible for that standing ovation and let's hope
- 1:50:32it spreads like yes. Yes spread like Florida covid
- 1:50:35please. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:50:44Zero that is number 2. It was announced today.
- 1:50:50More positivity from the state of Florida, that Bruce Arians
- 1:50:54who single-handedly has done more to promote the plight of
- 1:50:58black coaches. In the NFL has done his next
- 1:51:01step, he is stepping quote-unquote aside or stepping
- 1:51:05up stairs, moving in, you know, to the executive level to clear
- 1:51:11way for Todd Bowles who was just been announced.
- 1:51:13As the new head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers so Props to
- 1:51:18Bruce Arians for doing that. And then because it's Florida,
- 1:51:24there has to be a negative, right?
- 1:51:26Whoever that child is that assaulted?
- 1:51:31The miler. In high school meet.
- 1:51:35I hope he's in jail and if he's not in jail, y'all better find
- 1:51:39him and put him in jail and charge him as an adult for
- 1:51:43assault because that was insane. Hashtag, Florida.
- 1:51:50Oh, okay, I'm gonna go ahead and and this this is pretty poor
- 1:52:01polarizing. I think. but, I've thought about
- 1:52:08this, and when it actually happened, you know, I had, I had
- 1:52:15a moment, so my heartbeat props, go out to the men of the
- 1:52:20University of Texas track and field. and what I want people to
- 1:52:28understand is that those men that won the national indoor
- 1:52:33title and I've had time to think about this, their names are
- 1:52:38forever etched in the history, books of the University of
- 1:52:43Texas, the fact that they're the first to win any title.
- 1:52:55For the University of Texas in track in Men's Track and Field.
- 1:52:59I mean, it's it's all at the same time.
- 1:53:03Like what? As well as, wow, right?
- 1:53:10And whether or not, you know, they follow this up Outdoors or
- 1:53:15whatever their legacy is now sealed.
- 1:53:20And I mean, I spent my collegiate career, looking to
- 1:53:25knock Texas off their perch. That was, I mean, I was little
- 1:53:29rice and I loved it. Absolutely loved it.
- 1:53:34And You know. But, you know, I have to give
- 1:53:39respect where it's due and, you know, I think, I think for a lot
- 1:53:45of alums Texas alums that that burden, you know that they've
- 1:53:50lived with because that trust me.
- 1:53:52It is there. It's taken off their shoulders.
- 1:53:57Now they can now say that they have finished their mission so
- 1:54:03that's my hobby props. Well Stitch, I like it.
- 1:54:13I don't be honest with y'all. Like I've thought about this
- 1:54:15heartbeat props, probably for like six days and I've tussled
- 1:54:19back and forth and back and forth and I settled on, probably
- 1:54:25what most people are going to say is a cop-out and probably
- 1:54:28cheesy because they don't really know me and they don't know
- 1:54:31that. I don't really do cop-outs or
- 1:54:33cheesy. What I'm going to say is like
- 1:54:37truly heartfelt and it's how I feel my heartbeat props go out
- 1:54:43to the people on this on these tiles because This show has
- 1:54:53become a whole lot of things that none of us ever intended
- 1:54:56for it to be all of them, good. But I think we've taken on a
- 1:55:02role in the responsibilities that none of us ever thought we
- 1:55:05would. you know, I don't know about you guys, but I've had
- 1:55:12five different people say to me that during this pandemic, they
- 1:55:19feel as if our show Saved their lives, Now, I think that's, I
- 1:55:29don't know that that's far too High.
- 1:55:31Praise In My Own brain, but I'm not gonna take anybody else's
- 1:55:36words for anything other than gospel.
- 1:55:41But I will say this, I don't I will not say that this show has
- 1:55:45saved my life, but I will, I will without question you know
- 1:55:50share my underbelly side enough with the rest of the world.
- 1:55:53And say that this show definitely is one of the pillars
- 1:55:58of my life and it has created a certain amount of calm and
- 1:56:02structure and sameness that I look forward to every week and I
- 1:56:10actually do it's taken a while for people to convince me of
- 1:56:13this, but I actually do feel like the show is important and
- 1:56:16what we do matters and I couldn't imagine doing this.
- 1:56:24When any other people any other way?
- 1:56:26And at this point I can't imagine doing my own life
- 1:56:28without doing the show. So you all have lifetime
- 1:56:32contracts and I hope and hopefully none of you want to
- 1:56:38quit anytime soon. But I do have to second one
- 1:56:41thing that coach Chu has brought up with us.
- 1:56:44We do need to get with with Coach cheek and get him to redo
- 1:56:50our intro. Because there are five of us He
- 1:56:54will be happy to do it. I'm sending the absolute
- 1:56:57located. So then you've just been given
- 1:56:59that job Clyde, get ahold of Coach cheek, see if he can.
- 1:57:04He can rework an additional verse and get the governor.
- 1:57:10His props cannot change cannot change the beat not change.
- 1:57:17Listen, I don't know about y'all, but listen, I'm gonna
- 1:57:20tell y'all this again, here's a little factoid.
- 1:57:22Underbelly of mine High. I watch most of the shows and I
- 1:57:29cannot watch the show and I cannot listen to the show
- 1:57:32without listening to the entire intro music.
- 1:57:35Well okay, so full disclosure for the audience Chic made the
- 1:57:41beat for us, it's him rapping on the thing about all I'd say
- 1:57:46about a year in he sent us another one.
- 1:57:51Yes he did. And we listen it's not like it
- 1:57:56wasn't good because it was good. But if y'all if you watch power,
- 1:58:01you remember when 50 made the decision to change the power
- 1:58:04intro music, and the world was like, that is trash.
- 1:58:18You want to we changing the beat Playboy.
- 1:58:25All right on that. I'm not right now.
- 1:58:28I guarantee you he's laughing. He's listen.
- 1:58:31So anyhow. Well thank you so much for
- 1:58:36everyone. Joining us for your this small
- 1:58:38amount of time. Not small at all happy
- 1:58:42traveling, sir, Lucius best wishes at Florida or hosting
- 1:58:46Florida relays this weekend and I know, right?
- 1:58:52We do it. Have a great evening.

- 1:59:06See you next week, bye everyone. But the last Come On The Rocks.
- 1:59:13Get to running with the lights. Come on Upon A smash.
- 1:59:17You like it. See these four corners wouldn't
- 1:59:42be here but we have to start learning.
- 1:59:44You gotta earn your stripes. Gotta catch Stars.
- 1:59:47Show you how to fight for. Sure.
- 1:59:48So you are you lack experience but still you want to jump.
- 1:59:52And who is that? You talk to yourself?
- 1:59:54You got a small heads prevail when the backbone strong.
- 1:59:57Gotta keep it coming up. Won't last long pass to fail
- 2:00:01this cell the session and if you don't check yourself and that's
- 2:00:05wrong, just trying to give you the real chance for so why you
- 2:00:09keep cutting us off. After a small, we put it in
- 2:00:11slow-mo. What you fast for athletics,
- 2:00:15task force, After a small, we put it in slow-mo.
- 2:00:12What you fast for athletics, task force,
