- 0:14Speaker 1: yard practice shots. It's a great place to chip and
- 0:16Speaker 1: putt and practice. If you don't have time for a
- 0:19Speaker 1: full round, book your tea time today. Golf dot Breck
- 0:23Speaker 1: dot org. Golf dot Breck dot org. This Saints training
- 0:31Speaker 1: camp sucks, sucks a lot. It can't end soon enough.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Get everybody back from Oxnard, put them all in bubble
- 0:40Speaker 1: wrap and just go sit in the indoor until Week
- 0:45Speaker 1: one against Detroit. I mean, this is stupid. We've already
- 0:54Speaker 1: seen Brian Berztaire's ACL, We've seen Dylan Raden's tear his ACL.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Kendre Millers finally back, although he's been down with a
- 1:01Speaker 1: back injury. Cam Jordan's out maybe might linger into the season.
- 1:04Speaker 1: As Kellen Moore told us, Jordan Tyson's going to miss
- 1:07Speaker 1: two months. And now we learn Alvin Kamara is out
- 1:10Speaker 1: with a knee injury. This camp cannot end soon enough,
- 1:15Speaker 1: and a lot of the luster is being wiped off.
- 1:18Speaker 1: The shine is fading with every passing day and all
- 1:22Speaker 1: these injuries. And it's not that it's not that Alvin
- 1:29Speaker 1: Kamara is the key to the Saints offense in twenty
- 1:36Speaker 1: twenty six. Clearly that's not the case. I mean, that's
- 1:39Speaker 1: why they went and paid Travis Aitchen fifty four million
- 1:44Speaker 1: dollars because they recognized Alvin Kamara is an aging, declining back.
- 1:50Speaker 1: That's why they went through the whole contract situation with Kamara.
- 1:53Speaker 1: He had four hundred and seventy one yards a season ago.
- 1:56Speaker 1: He had career lows in attempts and yards and yards
- 1:59Speaker 1: per carry and touchdown and all of it. So I'm
- 2:01Speaker 1: not telling you you're relying on Alvin Kamara, but every
- 2:06Speaker 1: time you lose somebody, everybody else has to move up
- 2:10Speaker 1: a chair. So I like, Audric estime played seven games
- 2:15Speaker 1: for you a year ago and down the stretch actually
- 2:18Speaker 1: looked pretty good. He averaged almost four and a half
- 2:20Speaker 1: yards of carry first preseason game against Jacksonville. First touch
- 2:24Speaker 1: after the eighty six yard kickoff, Attorney bounced it outside
- 2:27Speaker 1: of the left guy in the end zone. I think
- 2:28Speaker 1: Audrick Estimey is a good back, but I really like
- 2:33Speaker 1: Audric Estime when he's battling with other guys, with ty Chandler,
- 2:38Speaker 1: with Devin Neil, when he's battling with those guys, Kendre
- 2:40Speaker 1: Miller to be the number three, I don't like him
- 2:44Speaker 1: so much when you tell me he's got to be
- 2:45Speaker 1: the Robin to Travis Aitchin's batman. But that's what happens
- 2:51Speaker 1: when everybody has to move up a chair here. I mean,
- 2:54Speaker 1: there's another conversation you're baked into this about Alvin Kamara,
- 2:58Speaker 1: which I mean, this just is at this point what
- 3:02Speaker 1: Alvin Kamara is. Not blaming him for a knee injury,
- 3:05Speaker 1: but like it's just an undeniable thing. Alvin Kamara hasn't
- 3:08Speaker 1: played a full season since his first season in the NFL.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Played eleven games last week. He missed six games a
- 3:14Speaker 1: season ago. He missed three games at the end of
- 3:16Speaker 1: twenty twenty four. He missed four games in twenty twenty three,
- 3:19Speaker 1: missed a couple games in twenty twenty two, missed three
- 3:21Speaker 1: games in twenty twenty one. Like, this is just what
- 3:23Speaker 1: Alvin Kamara is. He's a guy that just hasn't shown
- 3:26Speaker 1: the ability to stay healthy and play a full season,
- 3:30Speaker 1: and so you need depth at running back and I'm
- 3:33Speaker 1: glad that they've added some veterans and maybe some young guys.
- 3:36Speaker 1: We'll see if Devin Neil can stay healthy and maybe contribute.
- 3:39Speaker 1: But every time you lose someone, it just moves everybody
- 3:43Speaker 1: up a chair. So like it's the same we talked
- 3:46Speaker 1: about with Jordan Tyson's injury. Like I can be really
- 3:49Speaker 1: excited about Barry and Brown, but Barry and Brown as
- 3:53Speaker 1: a kick returner, punt returner, and your number four receiver,
- 3:57Speaker 1: that's really enticing. Brown being your number two opposite Chris
- 4:03Speaker 1: Alave that raises a much bigger question mark. And I
- 4:08Speaker 1: know there's a lot of people that want to sing
- 4:09Speaker 1: Devon Vley's praises and I hope he's awesome this year,
- 4:11Speaker 1: But the bottom line is Devon Vle had one game
- 4:14Speaker 1: last year. It was the game against Miami where he
- 4:16Speaker 1: had eight catches. One I in his first nine games
- 4:20Speaker 1: he had six catches. I mean, there's not exactly a
- 4:24Speaker 1: large sample size of Devon Vla being awesome. So my
- 4:27Speaker 1: point is, like, just like a Lave Tyson as a
- 4:32Speaker 1: one to two was really intriguing. Kamara not having the
- 4:36Speaker 1: shoulder the load and being the change of pace the
- 4:40Speaker 1: counter back to Travis Achen was really intriguing. Now you
- 4:45Speaker 1: remove Kamara for a month and you start to wonder, Okay,
- 4:48Speaker 1: well what else is there? Well, everybody's got to move
- 4:50Speaker 1: up a chair. It's really disappointing. I mean, we got
- 4:54Speaker 1: to remember, like this is like I'm I can't you know,
- 4:59Speaker 1: I came into this training camp really optimistic about this team,
- 5:02Speaker 1: Like I think they're a at their best, you know,
- 5:04Speaker 1: I think this team the ceiling. They're a nine win
- 5:07Speaker 1: team that could win a bad division and host a
- 5:09Speaker 1: playoff game, make the playoffs for the first time as
- 5:11Speaker 1: a division champ since the COVID year. Like, that's what
- 5:14Speaker 1: I think is what this team is capable of at
- 5:17Speaker 1: their best. Yea, we got to remember, like they were
- 5:21Speaker 1: number nine in the NFL in total defense a year ago,
- 5:24Speaker 1: but after that, like the offense wasn't great. I mean
- 5:31Speaker 1: they were twenty third in total offense, twenty eighth in scoring,
- 5:34Speaker 1: twenty seventh in rushing, and thirteen in pass offense. So
- 5:40Speaker 1: you have a long way to go to proving you're
- 5:42Speaker 1: a top half of the NFL offense, not an elite offense,
- 5:47Speaker 1: a top half of the NFL offense. I mean, you
- 5:50Speaker 1: were twenty third in total, twenty eighth in scoring, twenty seventh,
- 5:54Speaker 1: and rushing like you weren't good. I mean even the
- 5:58Speaker 1: game shuck started when you won. I mean the only
- 6:03Speaker 1: games where you popped off were against the Jets and
- 6:05Speaker 1: the Titans, where he scored twenty nine and thirty four
- 6:07Speaker 1: respectively against the Jets and the Titans. It's why they
- 6:14Speaker 1: went and invested in this offense in the offseason, and
- 6:17Speaker 1: now you're just kind of seeing a lot of that
- 6:18Speaker 1: talented road. Jalen Polk's retired, Jordan Tyson's hurt. Kamara is
- 6:25Speaker 1: gonna miss a month like it takes its toll. Raidens
- 6:29Speaker 1: is out, so it hurts your depth on the offensive line.
- 6:32Speaker 1: And we'll see if they go add pieces. And they
- 6:35Speaker 1: worked out a couple of wide receivers here on Wednesday
- 6:40Speaker 1: out in LA We'll see if there's maybe whenever the
- 6:44Speaker 1: cuts come, you know, on the thirtieth, and there's a
- 6:46Speaker 1: whole wave of free agents, maybe there's opportunities for the
- 6:49Speaker 1: Saints to add good veteran players that might be able
- 6:51Speaker 1: to help elevate the team. But boy, it's it feels
- 6:55Speaker 1: like a little bit of a of an emotional beatdown
- 6:58Speaker 1: right now with every passing day, with all these injuries.
- 7:01Speaker 1: And I get it, man, it's a collision sport and
- 7:03Speaker 1: injuries are part of the game. But on a season
- 7:06Speaker 1: that has carried a lot of expectation, this has been
- 7:10Speaker 1: it has been this gut punch after gut punch here
- 7:13Speaker 1: in the first couple of weeks of camp, a couple
- 7:16Speaker 1: more preseason games to go, we'll see if the Saints
- 7:18Speaker 1: can somehow make it through. And not of any other
- 7:20Speaker 1: sustained injuries, but Alvin Kamara out a month
