- 0:19Speaker 1: Patriot's Unfiltered. All right, no beginning, are we on? Oh okay,
- 0:30Speaker 1: Matis is in the control room. Usually we have like
- 0:33Speaker 1: that little funny segment alone. It's crazy doing my draft prep. Well,
- 0:38Speaker 1: he's got palms up, palms up, palms up, emotion. All right,
- 0:42Speaker 1: well it Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 0:46Speaker 1: at Gelette Stadium, talking Patriots for the next two hours.
- 0:49Speaker 1: The gang's all here, Deuce, Eric, Paul, me Matisse, Matt
- 0:54Speaker 1: Morrel's in Disney World, still smiling. Yeah, happiest place on Earth, right, Yeah,
- 0:59Speaker 1: I love it. So he's having a good time. I
- 1:02Speaker 1: want the full rundown of the Star Wars area. I
- 1:05Speaker 1: do too, because I'm gonna be in La and a
- 1:07Speaker 1: couple of months, and I was thinking maybe hitting up
- 1:10Speaker 1: that Star Wars out in Disneyland. Disneyland, please, nah, Disneyland
- 1:16Speaker 1: is for that, the original, the og for the holes. Well,
- 1:20Speaker 1: I tell you, I don't know what homeless people can
- 1:22Speaker 1: afford those tickets, because one hundred and sixty bucks. I
- 1:25Speaker 1: didn't know that they had the exact same Star Wars
- 1:27Speaker 1: thing in Disneyland is Disney World. Yeah, I don't know
- 1:30Speaker 1: if it's exactly the same when we were we went
- 1:32Speaker 1: there just before we moved back, and in twenty seventeen
- 1:34Speaker 1: they were they were kind of just building it. But
- 1:36Speaker 1: I thought that'd maybe kind of fun. Yeah, we'll see
- 1:38Speaker 1: absolutely see what Matt has to say. All right, uh
- 1:41Speaker 1: talking Patriots here? Um, what has developed since Tuesday? Anything good?
- 1:46Speaker 1: Nothing good? Franchise tag front the league? No, Jac's surprising.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Jac wants to get paid, and now he's said it. Yeah,
- 1:56Speaker 1: he has gone to social media to express his thoughts.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Told our buddy Phil, I think Perry Phil Perry, Yeah,
- 2:04Speaker 1: let's give us give Phil to Philly said mister iant
- 2:08Speaker 1: needs to get paid. Yeah, referred to himself. I know,
- 2:12Speaker 1: I don't know. I guess they don't really like me that. Yeah, yes,
- 2:14Speaker 1: I don't think I yes, I'm not important to them.
- 2:16Speaker 1: It's kind of like when I did Fred. Fred doesn't
- 2:18Speaker 1: think Mac Jones is any good? Right, I'm not surprised
- 2:22Speaker 1: that they haven't talked to him yet, right, right, I don't.
- 2:25Speaker 1: I mean a little well, I show him during the Yeah,
- 2:29Speaker 1: I do wonder if there was a deal on the
- 2:31Speaker 1: table back then that's just sitting there. Yeah, and it
- 2:35Speaker 1: sounds like he didn't engage kind of sounds like that. Yeah, Yeah,
- 2:38Speaker 1: it sounds like he didn't engage interest because it was
- 2:40Speaker 1: deemed because Mike Giardi had a follow up um with
- 2:44Speaker 1: some sources. Yeah, and uh, that's the way he kind
- 2:48Speaker 1: of explained it that there was it was an insulting
- 2:51Speaker 1: offer or not worth anybody's time. Oh, I think was
- 2:54Speaker 1: the way which portrayed it through his I don't know.
- 2:59Speaker 1: I think, like zationally that that's kind of what you do, right,
- 3:01Speaker 1: You throw something and maybe bites on it if you
- 3:05Speaker 1: don't want No, I'm serious like that. That that's that's
- 3:09Speaker 1: you know what it is. That's a page right out
- 3:11Speaker 1: of John Henry's playbook for the Red Sox. John, let
- 3:14Speaker 1: we don't want like thirty something, you all pitch it.
- 3:16Speaker 1: We made you an offer, we'll give you. We'll give
- 3:18Speaker 1: you a ten million. Yeah, knowing he's not gonna take it,
- 3:21Speaker 1: knowing it's gonna irritate the camp. And now I can
- 3:24Speaker 1: in good faith say well I can offer or they
- 3:26Speaker 1: never get back to me, because you know you're not
- 3:27Speaker 1: going to resign them and you just want to try
- 3:29Speaker 1: to save some face. I think that's Otherwise, it's I
- 3:32Speaker 1: don't think it's good negotiating to go ridiculously low out
- 3:35Speaker 1: of the gate. Yeah, well, and I mean was it
- 3:39Speaker 1: ridiculously low? Was it? Oh? I don't know where. I
- 3:41Speaker 1: don't know, like like his Yeah, jac Jackson's insult might
- 3:44Speaker 1: not be right, something that if we all saw the offer,
- 3:47Speaker 1: we might not agree that was insulting. Yeah, there's plenty
- 3:49Speaker 1: of players who've been insulted by like mega contracts before.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Who you know, right, I don't think anybody really knows.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Everyone's kind of speculating, but I don't think anyone has
- 3:59Speaker 1: a feel of this is probably what's going to happen.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Just reading everybody's different takes on it over the last
- 4:05Speaker 1: few days of it, and they could do it all
- 4:08Speaker 1: over the map. Yeah. Like on one hand, you know,
- 4:11Speaker 1: we're saying, wow, they need so much, you know, and
- 4:15Speaker 1: then if you get rid of jac Jackson, now you're
- 4:17Speaker 1: piled on. Now you need even more. On the other hand,
- 4:20Speaker 1: people say, well, they need so much. They needed the
- 4:22Speaker 1: money to spend on other things, but that includes now cornerback. Also,
- 4:28Speaker 1: it's it's weird. I think you need a cornerback anyway. Yeah,
- 4:31Speaker 1: I agree with it. Yeah, but but you may not
- 4:33Speaker 1: need one at the level of, you know, franchise tag,
- 4:37Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like, do you need to
- 4:41Speaker 1: spend you need a cornerback anyway? Do you need a
- 4:43Speaker 1: seventeen million dollar quarterback, cornerback? Corner If they don't want
- 4:47Speaker 1: a cornerback, I mean, I would say that if they
- 4:49Speaker 1: don't resign jac Jackson, they will not have a seventeen
- 4:52Speaker 1: million dollar right right because there's not one. It's not
- 4:56Speaker 1: one of the right that you know would make a lot.
- 4:59Speaker 1: I mean, I guess Gilmore, but I don't really see
- 5:01Speaker 1: how that makes a lot of sense afterwards transpired last year.
- 5:05Speaker 1: But I mean, I think you could look at it
- 5:09Speaker 1: two different ways. I'm kind of with Mike in terms
- 5:11Speaker 1: of been surprising how everybody's just all over the place.
- 5:16Speaker 1: No one really seems to have a read on this.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I wouldn't be opposed to the tag. I just don't
- 5:24Speaker 1: think it's likely. Yeah, but and that's I mean, the
- 5:28Speaker 1: only way I could see it is if they if
- 5:32Speaker 1: they want to do it for procedural purposes, to try
- 5:34Speaker 1: to work out something's where they can trade and get
- 5:37Speaker 1: something in return for him, and they've done that in
- 5:39Speaker 1: the past. Yeah, that's the only way I could see
- 5:41Speaker 1: it happened. Like if they tag him, I don't think
- 5:43Speaker 1: it's like, oh, great, they've got him for another year.
- 5:45Speaker 1: I think it'd be you know, to try to work
- 5:47Speaker 1: out a deal with another team. But having said that, now,
- 5:50Speaker 1: once you tag him, you have to be ready to
- 5:52Speaker 1: pay him. So if you can't get a trade done, yeah,
- 5:54Speaker 1: another team. Average of the first top five salaries at
- 5:58Speaker 1: that position seventeen and change seventeen three. I think I
- 6:01Speaker 1: think that's right. He's just such an interesting, interesting player
- 6:04Speaker 1: because he has a lot of production on the ball.
- 6:06Speaker 1: But overall, as people are taking kind of sense of
- 6:10Speaker 1: the landscape, nobody is saying that he's like a top
- 6:13Speaker 1: corner in the league. Is he the top corner on
- 6:15Speaker 1: the market this year? Maybe? But I feel like a
- 6:17Speaker 1: lot of people kind of feeds into what Paul was
- 6:19Speaker 1: saying with not really knowing how he stacks up. I
- 6:22Speaker 1: think people are having trouble really stacking up what kind
- 6:25Speaker 1: of value he's going to have, especially to another team.
- 6:27Speaker 1: And you know, the ball production has been consistent over
- 6:30Speaker 1: his time. But I think there's a little bit of
- 6:32Speaker 1: a buyer beware there in terms of you know, what
- 6:34Speaker 1: were the Patriots doing schematically and what else was you know,
- 6:37Speaker 1: maybe aiding that is he gonna be able to go
- 6:39Speaker 1: into another team, all right, go take that guy out.
- 6:42Speaker 1: And I think that's what everybody points to, like Stefon
- 6:44Speaker 1: Diggs in the playoffs, that he's not that guy. He's
- 6:47Speaker 1: not that How many times in a one corner? Yeah,
- 6:49Speaker 1: how many times in a one on one situation did
- 6:51Speaker 1: he just make the play? You know? And I think
- 6:55Speaker 1: if he watched a clip of his interceptions, a highlight reel,
- 6:59Speaker 1: you'd see how infrequently that happened. Yeah. I'm not even
- 7:02Speaker 1: talking about the interceptions. I'm just talking about batting the
- 7:04Speaker 1: ball down, you know, breaking it up. I mean he's
- 7:07Speaker 1: made he's made some of those plays too. I mean,
- 7:09Speaker 1: be fair to me, that's just as hard, you know,
- 7:11Speaker 1: the the interceptions you're you're you know, but that's what
- 7:14Speaker 1: separates him. The ball skills is what like, he has
- 7:19Speaker 1: exceptional balls, the hands and the interceptions he's really good at.
- 7:22Speaker 1: But to me, a shutdown corner isn't just a guy
- 7:27Speaker 1: with a lot of interceptions. It's a guy that he's
- 7:29Speaker 1: so good that you don't even throw it his way, right,
- 7:32Speaker 1: And those are then you're like, whoa, right? You know
- 7:36Speaker 1: you stay away from that guy, right, you know? And
- 7:39Speaker 1: I think he's a I think somebody said yesterday like
- 7:42Speaker 1: I said, I mean, he's definitely a starting corner and
- 7:44Speaker 1: you know, a guy you'd love to have on your team.
- 7:46Speaker 1: It's just you get to this point where you got
- 7:48Speaker 1: to pay him or let him go. And that's the
- 7:50Speaker 1: tough that's the tough part. And I feel like his
- 7:52Speaker 1: skills though, are He's real good with the ball in
- 7:54Speaker 1: the air, like adjusting to you know, deflections and and
- 7:58Speaker 1: that kind of athleticism to adjust. But he's not like
- 8:01Speaker 1: a guy who's up in a grill and you know,
- 8:04Speaker 1: knocking it away like likes like Mike has a inside
- 8:07Speaker 1: track here. The Patriots are not resigning Jase, But those
- 8:13Speaker 1: people who want to stay away because you know, he's
- 8:15Speaker 1: too brash, name me the top flight cornerback who isn't
- 8:20Speaker 1: you know. I don't think they're all like that. I
- 8:21Speaker 1: don't think people are worried about him being brashed. They're
- 8:24Speaker 1: worried about what happens when he gets the money. Does
- 8:26Speaker 1: he have the same work, you know, I know. But
- 8:27Speaker 1: one of your guys, um, you know listed, oh he named,
- 8:31Speaker 1: he talked about himself in the third person, and that's
- 8:34Speaker 1: not one of my guys. You know, good luck with
- 8:40Speaker 1: your future endeavors. To me, that's not a thing that
- 8:43Speaker 1: doesn't turn me up. Because all the top cornerbacks have
- 8:46Speaker 1: that person doesn't turn you totally agree, but I think
- 8:48Speaker 1: it tends to turn them off down down the hall.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Then they're never gonna have a top flight quarterback cornerback
- 8:53Speaker 1: because they're all like that. But that might be why
- 8:55Speaker 1: you've had a steady stream with guys getting to their
- 8:58Speaker 1: free agency and letting him ago. I have. I have
- 9:01Speaker 1: a big fear that the names that you're gonna see
- 9:03Speaker 1: signed at cornerback for this team are going to be
- 9:06Speaker 1: familiar ones. Justin Coleman, Darryl Roberts, like Keyon Crossing, like
- 9:12Speaker 1: guys like that, who are guys who have now got
- 9:17Speaker 1: an experience in the league elsewhere, but were originally with
- 9:19Speaker 1: the Patriots and they were like, oh, we know him,
- 9:22Speaker 1: bring him back. He's affordable, like and let's and I'll say, well,
- 9:25Speaker 1: he's gotten better, I can afford. I never wanted to
- 9:29Speaker 1: lose you know what Justin Coleman has been making like
- 9:32Speaker 1: I don't think they're gonna be signing guys that make
- 9:34Speaker 1: I mean, you might as well resigned Jackson if they're
- 9:36Speaker 1: gonna do that. Yeah, what was he Detroit last year?
- 9:38Speaker 1: I don't know, but like it'shu half for Coleman of whatever,
- 9:42Speaker 1: and he's not half the player, so I wouldn't go
- 9:45Speaker 1: that way. Yeah, but the other ones, I mean special teamers,
- 9:49Speaker 1: I mean keyon crossing. That's that's not that's not doing anything,
- 9:53Speaker 1: but that's that's that's my fears that that's what they're
- 9:55Speaker 1: gonna do. They're gonna they're gonna add it's gonna be there,
- 9:58Speaker 1: gonna be no starters exactly. But Coleman has had a
- 10:01Speaker 1: some pretty successful career as a slot guy. Um, you know,
- 10:04Speaker 1: eight nine, ten million a year kind of guy. Um,
- 10:08Speaker 1: I don't know, maybe he's not at that level now,
- 10:10Speaker 1: maybe he's on the back nine and you can get
- 10:13Speaker 1: him for three million, ye now whatever, and fine if
- 10:15Speaker 1: you can't, but doesn't solve your problem. Right, And you
- 10:18Speaker 1: got Jonathan Jones, which is you know, a need outside guys,
- 10:21Speaker 1: and you know, I mean maybe maybe Daryl Roberts, he's
- 10:23Speaker 1: he's let Jonathan Jones go, and you maybe maybe maybe
- 10:27Speaker 1: you do, but you know, you had Gillamore, he's gone.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Then you had Jonathan Jones, he's gone. And then you
- 10:33Speaker 1: had jac Jackson's not gone. Jonathan Jones is here, no,
- 10:35Speaker 1: I mean talking to last year, he's gone injury, Yeah,
- 10:39Speaker 1: you know, and and then you you know, you had
- 10:41Speaker 1: j C. Jackson, and now you're gonna have jac Jackson's gone.
- 10:47Speaker 1: And yeah, and so Jonathan Jones is now your top cornerback,
- 10:51Speaker 1: you know, Jalen Mills. But both of them aren't. I
- 10:55Speaker 1: don't know who's better, I know, supposed to be. Yeah,
- 10:59Speaker 1: they're both kind of safety zign slot and interior guys.
- 11:03Speaker 1: It's a problem. It's a problem you have to which
- 11:06Speaker 1: is why you have to look at seriously considering that
- 11:09Speaker 1: as a number one pick. Yeah, you know, absolutely, yeah,
- 11:12Speaker 1: I would seriously consider that regardless if if they even
- 11:17Speaker 1: if if they retain Jackson, you still need to get
- 11:20Speaker 1: a guy in here who is like a highly thought
- 11:23Speaker 1: of prospect, not you know, I think it's great what
- 11:27Speaker 1: Belichick has been able to do over the years with
- 11:30Speaker 1: Malcolm Butler and j C. Jackson and going back away
- 11:33Speaker 1: as Randall gay Um, Jonathan Jones. You know with these
- 11:36Speaker 1: undrafted corners that he's been able to identify some sort
- 11:40Speaker 1: of skill set and develop. That has been one area
- 11:42Speaker 1: that Belichick is excelled in to a ridiculously high level.
- 11:48Speaker 1: I just think that's a hard way you can't rely on,
- 11:51Speaker 1: especially and he's done have the guys ahead of them.
- 11:54Speaker 1: He's done it, but but he's done it a lot. Yeah,
- 11:58Speaker 1: those guys, I just think to say, you know, you
- 12:02Speaker 1: didn't have Malcolm Butler in his rookie year and just
- 12:04Speaker 1: say you have my left cornerback, right like all those
- 12:07Speaker 1: guys had a year have jac Jackson as a rookie
- 12:09Speaker 1: and say you are my number one cornerback like you
- 12:11Speaker 1: didn't do that with these guys had depth. Yeah, yeah,
- 12:14Speaker 1: they had a chance to ease him in. And I
- 12:16Speaker 1: mean how many people were shocked to see Butler coming
- 12:19Speaker 1: I know, I mean I even remember being aware of
- 12:22Speaker 1: him by making a lot of plays on the ball
- 12:23Speaker 1: right when he came in Butler's training camp. You loved, yes,
- 12:27Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I remember reading Scott probing block servations to
- 12:30Speaker 1: be there all the time. Yeah, And sometimes you look
- 12:34Speaker 1: and you'd be like wait rivers is on one side,
- 12:36Speaker 1: Malcolm Butler's on the other side, and you'd be like,
- 12:38Speaker 1: how is he there every time? Like he's just yeah, yeah,
- 12:42Speaker 1: I make plays all over. I still remember my feeling
- 12:44Speaker 1: when he went into Super Bowl forty nine and kind
- 12:48Speaker 1: of being like cautiously a little optimistic of like, well,
- 12:51Speaker 1: this guy's pretty good, Like he's he's done some stuff.
- 12:53Speaker 1: I'm not panicking like I would have been if all
- 12:55Speaker 1: of a sudden Sean Wade, No, the Seahawks, Yeah, you
- 12:59Speaker 1: misread it, know what to do. But the same thing.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Made a couple of plays on the ball right away
- 13:03Speaker 1: when he came in, and I know he came close
- 13:05Speaker 1: on that. Last. The big news, of course, is uh
- 13:08Speaker 1: Tom Brady producing a movie and in it. And this
- 13:14Speaker 1: is my prediction. This is my prediction. And you know,
- 13:17Speaker 1: of course the ladies they've they've got what an experience.
- 13:20Speaker 1: They're walking out, they're walking out of the stadium, and
- 13:23Speaker 1: who should be coming but Tom Brady there. You know,
- 13:26Speaker 1: he'll have his little cameo. Right what a random, random
- 13:30Speaker 1: movie though it sounded like something you would write old.
- 13:35Speaker 1: I mean, look, I'm excited, is it Lily Tomlin? Yeah,
- 13:42Speaker 1: I mean, there's definitely something for you know, I know
- 13:44Speaker 1: all scripts have wrinkles, but this is a twist, you know,
- 13:50Speaker 1: a bunch of old salty Boston broads, you know, the
- 13:53Speaker 1: old like. You know. They said it's based on it.
- 13:56Speaker 1: It's based loosely on a true store. Oh is it really? Yeah,
- 13:59Speaker 1: that's what they said. It's based on a true story
- 14:01Speaker 1: of four women who went to the twenty seventeen sixteen
- 14:06Speaker 1: sixteen Super Bowl um in February. Yeah. Do you think
- 14:10Speaker 1: do you think uh plot points? Do you think one
- 14:12Speaker 1: of them sleeps with a young buck along the way.
- 14:15Speaker 1: I'm sure there's a Chippendale's like scene, right, yeah, yeahs
- 14:21Speaker 1: dot com reporters been like that since the seventh I'm
- 14:24Speaker 1: sure I read all your stuff. I'm here. They say,
- 14:27Speaker 1: you know, outrageous things that are crazy. You know. The
- 14:29Speaker 1: first the first movie I thought. I was talking to
- 14:31Speaker 1: Matisse this morning about this. The first movie I thought
- 14:34Speaker 1: of was that Great Exotic Best Exotic Merrigold Hotel movie.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Remember when they all go to India and they're like
- 14:41Speaker 1: they're trying to recapture their youth with all the the
- 14:43Speaker 1: like you know Richard gear types like That's that was
- 14:47Speaker 1: the first thing I thought of. And like what the
- 14:49Speaker 1: plot could now if you really want to, you know,
- 14:52Speaker 1: go crazy. Brady has sex with all of them at
- 14:55Speaker 1: the same time. I mean Brady, that's a different that's
- 15:02Speaker 1: a that's a different one. But I hope they I
- 15:04Speaker 1: hope they go easy on the Boston accents with those ladies. Yeah,
- 15:08Speaker 1: and this like always goes into him and maybe the
- 15:10Speaker 1: pauls a little more like he's got more Boston credit
- 15:12Speaker 1: than probably most of us do based on where you
- 15:15Speaker 1: grew up. But I try to explain the lane. I'm like,
- 15:17Speaker 1: not every R is out like some RS are in.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Some RS are out there. There's an art to the
- 15:22Speaker 1: Boston accent. I feel like when actresses go or actors
- 15:24Speaker 1: go and try to do the accent, they just think
- 15:26Speaker 1: RS are out. I don't say any RS they can
- 15:29Speaker 1: be out but you but no one says like ka,
- 15:32Speaker 1: it's just ka, Like you don't think about it right,
- 15:35Speaker 1: Like you just say it's everybody in the movies. Sounds
- 15:38Speaker 1: like they're thinking, Okay, I have a word with an
- 15:41Speaker 1: R coming up, and I have to make sure I
- 15:43Speaker 1: emphasis the lack of an R on this. You know
- 15:45Speaker 1: who did a really good, really good Boston accent in
- 15:49Speaker 1: the movies. Was Amy Ryan, Yes, I just saw her
- 15:51Speaker 1: the other day. Yeah, yeah she was. She did a
- 15:54Speaker 1: great Boston that just popped up the mother. She was
- 15:59Speaker 1: the mother. Yeah, she had a good Boston. She was good.
- 16:01Speaker 1: What was the movie with Benedict cumber Patch. Uh, like
- 16:04Speaker 1: a Whitey Bulger kind of movie. Oh yeah, black Man Mask? Yes, yes,
- 16:09Speaker 1: as bad as it gets. Those accents in that movie
- 16:12Speaker 1: drove me absolutely crazy. I couldn't even well. There was one,
- 16:15Speaker 1: a movie about the Cuban missile crisis that came out
- 16:18Speaker 1: about twenty thirteen days. Yeah, terrible. Yeah, it just takes
- 16:23Speaker 1: I'd rather just don't even try the JFK accent. Yeah,
- 16:26Speaker 1: plenty of people that up in Boston. They just don't
- 16:29Speaker 1: have it. Like, I'd rather don't do it then just
- 16:32Speaker 1: make it so bad that you instantly it's like they
- 16:34Speaker 1: have voice coaches, right, Like you would think that you
- 16:36Speaker 1: could get like Boston based people to coach them on
- 16:39Speaker 1: how to do the accent right. Well, you know that
- 16:41Speaker 1: that's some guy who's like selling his expertise and he's
- 16:43Speaker 1: coming right in with like ours are out, ours are out, well,
- 16:46Speaker 1: but you gotta get someone like who's our who's our
- 16:48Speaker 1: Buddy that used to be on the radio, Danny Piccard, Right,
- 16:54Speaker 1: that's a legit Boston accent, because I think people only
- 16:58Speaker 1: fixate on the r Yeah, and it's almost like we
- 17:00Speaker 1: were more nuanced, like most people would say like Rob,
- 17:03Speaker 1: like you know, you rob a bank, it's Rob. If
- 17:07Speaker 1: you're in Boston, it's raw like that to me is
- 17:11Speaker 1: more identified. That person's from inside one twenty eight, Like
- 17:15Speaker 1: I hear the way they pronounced an oh, and I know,
- 17:18Speaker 1: oh he's he's from around the city place and you
- 17:21Speaker 1: can place it body and yeah, yeah, Bobby from Yeah
- 17:30Speaker 1: that that that's a Boston accent. Bobby, Bobby, Boston, Bobby
- 17:36Speaker 1: Bobby Nah. You know when you say Babby, that's more
- 17:40Speaker 1: Kennedy and Kennedy's accent whatever was affected, like he actually
- 17:47Speaker 1: wanted it to be like that. He actually worked at
- 17:50Speaker 1: having its funny because he's sounded like a guy who
- 17:52Speaker 1: was trying to do a Boston Yeah that's what he son,
- 17:54Speaker 1: but but it was it was an affected accent, right.
- 17:57Speaker 1: And that's my thing with the Cumberbatch movie was like
- 17:59Speaker 1: I felt like they watched John F. Kennedy and was like, yeah,
- 18:02Speaker 1: that's the Boston exit, Like John f. Kennedy is a
- 18:04Speaker 1: four hits his own. Me and my brother is watching
- 18:08Speaker 1: right going salient in the bay in Hyannis. I can't.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Johnny Depp was in Black There was the he played
- 18:15Speaker 1: by black Moss. He was old. People see that. He's
- 18:18Speaker 1: always freaky with those eyes black masks. No, the Brady movie,
- 18:23Speaker 1: I don't know you. I mean, I'm not gonna watch. Well,
- 18:25Speaker 1: who is it appealing to? Like, because it's a weird,
- 18:27Speaker 1: kind of very weird fo old lady. It's the same.
- 18:32Speaker 1: It's the same, like does all these kind of movies
- 18:35Speaker 1: like Jack Nicholson and somebody did one like that, the
- 18:38Speaker 1: bucket List one, stuff like Freeman. Yeah no, he was
- 18:42Speaker 1: like a romance movie. Yeah, like their older, older, older
- 18:46Speaker 1: genera genre for that that exotic Marygolds hotel thing. I
- 18:51Speaker 1: was telling, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, so like you know,
- 18:55Speaker 1: all the biddies will go there, like you know, you
- 18:56Speaker 1: see it with their knitting bags. I don't really see
- 18:59Speaker 1: any movie, but you hate you hate. I hate Brady
- 19:01Speaker 1: right right for his cameo at the end. That's it.
- 19:03Speaker 1: I paid twelve bucks him, but he's also producing it.
- 19:06Speaker 1: There's no way, there's no way I would ever pay
- 19:08Speaker 1: any money to see it. My guess is at some
- 19:10Speaker 1: point it'll be on and I'll watch it. Is Gotham Chopra, Uh,
- 19:14Speaker 1: you must make it? No, it's some guy I had
- 19:17Speaker 1: never heard of. Yeah, I had heard the director. Actually,
- 19:20Speaker 1: forget Russ Hochstein. Can you get Can you pull that
- 19:22Speaker 1: up again? The eighty for Brady movie that I forgot
- 19:25Speaker 1: that who the director was, But I didn't remember the
- 19:27Speaker 1: name of the guys I missed? What was the director? Oh? Yeah,
- 19:31Speaker 1: why can't I be the director? Was that from the
- 19:33Speaker 1: five Layers of the Protection had? Yes, the Doritos or
- 19:38Speaker 1: whatever it was. Yeah, yeah, So it's you could take
- 19:41Speaker 1: it to the mics and the mic. You're all right,
- 19:42Speaker 1: you're alright about to make his debut. No, No, you
- 19:44Speaker 1: gotta can't do it. I can't do it now. Is
- 19:47Speaker 1: it already shot or is it in No? I think
- 19:49Speaker 1: it's in production. It's in production, prep prep school. Guy
- 19:52Speaker 1: BC can't figure out a mic? So when is it
- 19:55Speaker 1: supposed to I was gonna open the door and let
- 19:56Speaker 1: us know it's supposed to be coming out? Kyle Marvin
- 20:00Speaker 1: Kyle Mark is the director I've never heard of. Is
- 20:03Speaker 1: he Lee Marvin's son? Probably? Probably there. That's the biz.
- 20:09Speaker 1: That's the biz. But do we know when it's coming out?
- 20:14Speaker 1: Is it don't know much? Is it a Christmas release?
- 20:16Speaker 1: I don't know one of the blockbusters that are coming out. Yeah,
- 20:20Speaker 1: well they haven't done it yet, right, Yeah, I think
- 20:23Speaker 1: it's I think it's the ways off but awards seasons. Yeah,
- 20:28Speaker 1: got to sneak it in before, say, there's a chance
- 20:30Speaker 1: that they'll never see the the fartest performance of Lily
- 20:32Speaker 1: Tomlin's career. Right, we've lost a few with the right
- 20:35Speaker 1: eighty for Brady. The fact that it's based on a
- 20:39Speaker 1: truth gives me a little bit more hope for that.
- 20:43Speaker 1: It's like there's some sort of legit story there, Like
- 20:46Speaker 1: I thought originally that was just like you know, some
- 20:49Speaker 1: psycho fan wrote this script and like and he was like,
- 20:52Speaker 1: oh yeah, it's a movie about me. I'll make it.
- 20:53Speaker 1: But maybe there's a death at the end, you know,
- 20:55Speaker 1: maybe they twist they want death. He wants foursomes, he
- 20:59Speaker 1: wants of stuff in here. He's got a nose for
- 21:02Speaker 1: the business, I think. I mean, you're talking what sells sex,
- 21:07Speaker 1: you know. Eighty for Brady, I mean, Eric, I'll make
- 21:10Speaker 1: you the bat right now. One of those women in
- 21:12Speaker 1: that cast is gonna with some like fifty you know,
- 21:15Speaker 1: it's a guy who's like twenty to thirty years younger,
- 21:17Speaker 1: and she's gonna, you know, find the fountain of youth.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, I'm sure somebody will smoke a joint
- 21:24Speaker 1: during it. You know they'll be hate that be how
- 21:27Speaker 1: they get their tickets. It's true, can it ruins for yourself?
- 21:30Speaker 1: You can't afford tickets. So I gotta where you're gonna
- 21:32Speaker 1: afford your tickets. I bet, I bet John from LA
- 21:34Speaker 1: would back this up with. You know, once you study
- 21:37Speaker 1: screenwriting and you write, it's just you see the like
- 21:40Speaker 1: all you see is yep, the page seventy five. Just
- 21:43Speaker 1: see it and you see the whole structure of it.
- 21:45Speaker 1: And you know that's why when you actually see a
- 21:47Speaker 1: movie that that takes you out of that, that's when
- 21:49Speaker 1: you know it's like a really good movie. Like you know, Chris,
- 21:51Speaker 1: I don't know Christopher Nolan's um uh what was that
- 21:54Speaker 1: movie with Leo um? You know? I mean that was yeah,
- 21:59Speaker 1: you know, totally takes you out of it, puts you
- 22:01Speaker 1: in another world. But but a lot of these movies
- 22:03Speaker 1: is just such paint by number that's just it's trying
- 22:05Speaker 1: to be crazy. You know exactly what's gonna happen. Has
- 22:06Speaker 1: anybody's seen the Kurt Warner movie I have not out
- 22:10Speaker 1: just around Christmas time? Did you never saw it? Did
- 22:12Speaker 1: you no? Kind of kind of curious, but I'll see
- 22:18Speaker 1: that at something. He saw me on the Saints movie though.
- 22:20Speaker 1: He Oh. With the Saints movie, James wasn't bad, he said,
- 22:24Speaker 1: with a laugh. Wasn't bad. Well, you know, it wasn't bad, James,
- 22:27Speaker 1: it was. It was. It was kind of shlocky, but
- 22:29Speaker 1: it wasn't bad. Was Draft Day with Kevin cost It
- 22:32Speaker 1: wasn't that bad bad? Well, but think about it, think
- 22:35Speaker 1: about the premise of that, like all in one day,
- 22:37Speaker 1: all of that stuff happens to him. But but it
- 22:41Speaker 1: wasn't terrible. I wasn't terrible. I gotta say. Thought it
- 22:44Speaker 1: was quick, little funny. One I watched that with my
- 22:47Speaker 1: wife and I'm like pulling my hair out, like this
- 22:49Speaker 1: is ridiculous. And at the end of it, she was like,
- 22:51Speaker 1: so that's how it all works, and I'm like, no,
- 22:53Speaker 1: it's not. So. Then then the other night somehow it
- 22:57Speaker 1: came up, I think because we're watching Yellowstone were time
- 22:59Speaker 1: at Costner and she was like, what was that drafting movie? Like, yeah,
- 23:01Speaker 1: we watched we watched it, and she's like, I did.
- 23:04Speaker 1: She had no recollections seeing it all now, but it
- 23:06Speaker 1: was it was just remember watching it expecting it to
- 23:09Speaker 1: be just absolutely terrible, and I thought, Okay, it wasn't bad. Yeah,
- 23:14Speaker 1: I mean stream Yeah, like if they stretched, if they
- 23:17Speaker 1: had stretched the plot out over like a week or
- 23:21Speaker 1: even two weeks, I would have been more like, Okay,
- 23:23Speaker 1: I can kind of see that. But like for it
- 23:25Speaker 1: all happened basically on one day. Come on Draft week,
- 23:30Speaker 1: Draft month. Chadwick Boseman was the player in that. Wow
- 23:34Speaker 1: was he didn't realize? Oh that's I think right. So
- 23:37Speaker 1: so Brady is now producing movies, not just documentaries. Yeah,
- 23:41Speaker 1: just I hope he knows he knows his limits with
- 23:43Speaker 1: his acting, like not too much, like just come in
- 23:45Speaker 1: at the end. You should get he should get Peyton
- 23:47Speaker 1: to play him, right, But I agree with you one
- 23:50Speaker 1: hundred percent, he will come in. Like they were arguing
- 23:53Speaker 1: it on one of Paul's shows yesterday, Like a lot
- 23:55Speaker 1: of shows, it says he's starring in it, he's good,
- 23:58Speaker 1: and somebody said no, it just says that he'll come
- 24:01Speaker 1: in at the end of That's what I cameo. Yeah,
- 24:04Speaker 1: he's like the culmination of the trip. I can't imagine
- 24:07Speaker 1: a big party. Yeah, I agree, right, you know they
- 24:09Speaker 1: finally see the Holy Grail at the yea, you know,
- 24:12Speaker 1: but I see all the potential for how could it
- 24:14Speaker 1: could be really funny if you get a good writer
- 24:16Speaker 1: who knows, you know, Patriot fan Boston people like, you know,
- 24:19Speaker 1: with those ladies with their different personalities that you know
- 24:22Speaker 1: as you tweak each one of you know, one has
- 24:24Speaker 1: a huge crush on Brady or you know, like you
- 24:26Speaker 1: could have a lot of fun, a lot of fun
- 24:27Speaker 1: with it. I think if if it's done right, I'd
- 24:29Speaker 1: like to see who was writing it. If you get
- 24:31Speaker 1: like I think John Cockrell's writing. He's a drama guy.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Wait is it a comedy or a drama? I don't know.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I guess it's probably a comedy, right, I hope. So
- 24:40Speaker 1: it's a drama, two hour drama about what's happen laughing
- 24:44Speaker 1: at and they're like, it's supposed to be a drama. Well,
- 24:46Speaker 1: there you go. Is Ruth Buzzy in it too? Laughter
- 24:50Speaker 1: at Cammen? Yeah, Oh my god, I'm sure it'll be
- 24:55Speaker 1: the corpse of Lucille ball all right. Five five pats
- 25:00Speaker 1: one hundred is the a sticket hot line web Radio
- 25:02Speaker 1: White you couldn't hang on for a little dot com?
- 25:04Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, um. You know, by the way, you have
- 25:09Speaker 1: to like Betty White. I do like you know, if
- 25:11Speaker 1: you don't like her, then I don't. We'll kill you.
- 25:13Speaker 1: I don't feel any pressure on that. I do like Betty. Okay,
- 25:16Speaker 1: she was funny. That's just in case you know you
- 25:18Speaker 1: have any second Placid No with the crocodile. Yeah, absolutely
- 25:23Speaker 1: horrific movie. But she's hilarious in it. Lake Placid with
- 25:26Speaker 1: a crocodile. Yeah, giant is a giant, like David Kelly.
- 25:29Speaker 1: David Kelly. Oh, it's a it's like a horror movie. Yeah,
- 25:33Speaker 1: it's very funny. Not a funny horror movie. Yeah, it's
- 25:37Speaker 1: not bad. Lake Placid with a giant. Allegate this like Sharknado.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Is it that bad? No? No, it's not shocked. Now
- 25:45Speaker 1: it's actually taking itself serious seriously a little bit. Well, yeah,
- 25:50Speaker 1: a little bit. But Betty White, she has an absolutely
- 25:54Speaker 1: classic line. Yeah, I'm trying to remember. I can't say
- 25:57Speaker 1: it because it's dirty. Oh, we'll get it in post. Paul,
- 26:01Speaker 1: you can say, um, let's see, all right, let's go
- 26:06Speaker 1: to some of these emails web. Unless we have something
- 26:08Speaker 1: else with Brady, we have J. C. Jackson. So I
- 26:12Speaker 1: had a you know, a take on on the franchise thing, like,
- 26:15Speaker 1: is it really ridiculous that they have like two weeks?
- 26:19Speaker 1: You think that's too short? No, it's way too long.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Too long, Like you had the whole time to decide
- 26:24Speaker 1: whether or not you're gonna use the franchise tag. You've
- 26:26Speaker 1: been negotiating ostensibly for as long as long as you
- 26:30Speaker 1: wanted to. So then it opens on February twenty second
- 26:34Speaker 1: and closes on March eighth. Yeah, Like why do you
- 26:36Speaker 1: need all that time? Yeah? Interesting question, Like just make
- 26:41Speaker 1: it the deadline is March first to use the franchise tag,
- 26:46Speaker 1: and then, as Andrew Brandt likes to say, deadline, spur action, right, instead,
- 26:51Speaker 1: we have to wait two weeks to figure out which
- 26:54Speaker 1: teams are going to use. You know, there are other
- 26:56Speaker 1: guys that could be candidates with the franchise tag that
- 27:00Speaker 1: I you know, I think relate to the Patriots as well,
- 27:03Speaker 1: or if you want to end it retained by their
- 27:04Speaker 1: teams if you want to end it on March eighth,
- 27:06Speaker 1: open it on March fifth, right, Well, just have a
- 27:10Speaker 1: deadline like March eighth, that's the day. Yep, you have
- 27:13Speaker 1: until March eighth. Do you think it's because it kind
- 27:16Speaker 1: of falls in this weird period in between the league
- 27:19Speaker 1: years kind of, and it's in between the super Bowl,
- 27:20Speaker 1: and they need like at least a point where it
- 27:22Speaker 1: could start. I'm just speculative, but I don't understand why
- 27:25Speaker 1: they need a period of time, like, just make it
- 27:28Speaker 1: a deadline. The deadline is blank forget it opens on
- 27:31Speaker 1: March twenty February twenty second. The deadline is March eighth.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Just we don't need the beginning, just the end. Yeah,
- 27:37Speaker 1: And I mean, have they have the patriots of all
- 27:39Speaker 1: the times they've used it ever, once used it before
- 27:42Speaker 1: the deadline wasn't passed like three hours ago, they're generally
- 27:46Speaker 1: towards the end. They're generally towards the end. Yet most
- 27:48Speaker 1: teams are generally towards the end. Every once in a while,
- 27:50Speaker 1: someone just comes out and immediately does it, But I
- 27:53Speaker 1: think you see most teams wait a few days anyway,
- 27:56Speaker 1: And do you think it has anything to do with
- 27:59Speaker 1: I'm trying to remember what Castle, because I think his
- 28:00Speaker 1: castle the only time they traded somebody, Right, it's not
- 28:03Speaker 1: the only time they've traded Bucky Jones. I think that
- 28:06Speaker 1: they've traded four times. Um they just maybe maybe I don't.
- 28:12Speaker 1: I think they tagged him and then right Toebucky was one.
- 28:15Speaker 1: He went to New Orleans. Yeah, maybe it was two
- 28:19Speaker 1: trades Castle and Tebucky. It's the only two trades. Yeah,
- 28:23Speaker 1: I think that sounds right. And then they had some extensions,
- 28:27Speaker 1: right Vinitaryary first time, Yeah, Mankins signed Mankins. But I
- 28:35Speaker 1: think it's telling that, like welcome you not signed non extension,
- 28:39Speaker 1: non extension. No, he played in the franchise attack and
- 28:42Speaker 1: pissed them off. You didn't know that. You didn't know
- 28:44Speaker 1: he screwed the Patriots. No, you don't really know Patriot's
- 28:46Speaker 1: history very well too. No, I know, I I don't
- 28:48Speaker 1: know all the ins and outs of the Revisionist. There's
- 28:51Speaker 1: a lot you missed not being on the show on
- 28:53Speaker 1: the side. I know, I know I poisoned my brain yet.
- 28:57Speaker 1: But I think it's like they had four guys that
- 28:59Speaker 1: they signed to the to the tag and extended, and
- 29:03Speaker 1: two of them are kickers. It's right the cheap ones
- 29:07Speaker 1: right right all right. Web radio at Patriots dot com.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Five five pass five hundred is the ace ticket hut
- 29:14Speaker 1: line um Rob writes in in Coventry. He says Paul
- 29:19Speaker 1: mentioned on Tuesday that he could envisage Paul Bill trading
- 29:23Speaker 1: down to get more picks. And I heard Eric's heartbreak
- 29:26Speaker 1: from across the Atlantic. Yea, to lift his spirits. Do
- 29:30Speaker 1: you think there's any chance we trade up? Maybe we
- 29:32Speaker 1: take advantage of the other teams looking for more picks,
- 29:35Speaker 1: get all our business done on day one, then take
- 29:38Speaker 1: the rest of the weekend off. I do wish, but
- 29:42Speaker 1: I would have to guess if they were trading up,
- 29:45Speaker 1: that would mean they would be trading players, not picks,
- 29:47Speaker 1: because they hardly have any picks to work with unless they're,
- 29:50Speaker 1: you know, mortgaging their future. Right to trading up would
- 29:54Speaker 1: would entail having a specific eye that you want. Ye,
- 29:57Speaker 1: so many positions. How could you see how that would be?
- 30:01Speaker 1: I mean, you know from what we've I've heard on
- 30:04Speaker 1: you know what the draft looks like this year draft.
- 30:07Speaker 1: You know, trading down ye seems likely, But like you said,
- 30:12Speaker 1: a lot of other teams may feel the same way.
- 30:14Speaker 1: You know, you gotta have guy. That's why I'm not
- 30:17Speaker 1: saying you can book it. They're trading down, right. I
- 30:19Speaker 1: think it makes sense on the surface, a team that
- 30:21Speaker 1: doesn't have a lot of picks in a draft, that
- 30:24Speaker 1: doesn't have a lot of star power. They're sitting at
- 30:27Speaker 1: twenty one, so you're not really in a position where
- 30:29Speaker 1: you're gonna get one of the stars. I mean, those
- 30:33Speaker 1: kinds of factors would indicate a trade down as possible. Yeah,
- 30:38Speaker 1: you have a lot of needs. You have a lot
- 30:40Speaker 1: of needs, yea. And I mean if I hear one
- 30:43Speaker 1: more person say, oh, you know twenty forty, you know,
- 30:47Speaker 1: fifty similar players, stop it. So if that's true, then
- 30:52Speaker 1: try to get multiple picks between say twenty yeah, right,
- 30:58Speaker 1: spread out the risk a little bit. And I know
- 31:01Speaker 1: Eric's you know, you're making your faces, but it sounds
- 31:04Speaker 1: strategy if you can do it. That's where I differ
- 31:06Speaker 1: from Eric. Yeah, Eric just hates trading down all the time.
- 31:09Speaker 1: I more often than not do not like trading down,
- 31:12Speaker 1: but I will take it on a case by case basis.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Very open minded. Paul. People have often said that those people,
- 31:19Speaker 1: which anybody who's ever been in my family way shape
- 31:24Speaker 1: or form Rashad in Baltimore. I saw an article that
- 31:27Speaker 1: came out about Damien Harris and what the Patriots will
- 31:30Speaker 1: have to do with him soon. I like Harris, ye,
- 31:33Speaker 1: but you don't pay running backs right right. That's a
- 31:37Speaker 1: good he's not up until next year. Yeah, this is
- 31:41Speaker 1: another reason why I don't really like the red shirt
- 31:44Speaker 1: rookie theory, because you lose a year of cheap labor
- 31:48Speaker 1: when you do that. Yeah. I dove a little bit
- 31:51Speaker 1: into the into the running backs yesterday. I mean I
- 31:54Speaker 1: think that that I think that's a position to keep
- 31:55Speaker 1: an eye on in those middle rounds of maybe trying
- 31:57Speaker 1: to find receiving back at least to you know, maybe
- 32:00Speaker 1: bring back James White for another season or I don't know,
- 32:02Speaker 1: it's just a we've talked about it before. It's there's
- 32:05Speaker 1: nothing really there. I mean, you feel good about Harrison
- 32:06Speaker 1: Stevenson going into next season. That's a great place to start.
- 32:09Speaker 1: But I feel like they always overstock that position. And
- 32:11Speaker 1: it feels good that they have two talented guys, but
- 32:15Speaker 1: I definitely think they need to That's a position, a
- 32:17Speaker 1: long term need they're gonna have to address, especially with
- 32:19Speaker 1: Harris coming up. Yeah, are they going to resign him.
- 32:22Speaker 1: I think it's a great question because you know, they
- 32:24Speaker 1: put him up in the hallway. They took you know,
- 32:25Speaker 1: Gilmore down when he got traded. He's the one going up.
- 32:28Speaker 1: He seems to have a lot of leadership guy. Seems
- 32:30Speaker 1: like he's the guy they roll out a lot as
- 32:32Speaker 1: the message guy with Andrews and guys sometimes. So in
- 32:36Speaker 1: some ways I feel like they're grooming. But I feel
- 32:39Speaker 1: like they just really like his attitude and his presence.
- 32:42Speaker 1: But how much and how much do you pay running backs? Now?
- 32:45Speaker 1: And I mean I think this is a really middling
- 32:47Speaker 1: running back class overall, But how much do you pay
- 32:50Speaker 1: him anymore? Do you really need him? Do you just
- 32:51Speaker 1: stock up in every year draft a third fourth round guy?
- 32:54Speaker 1: That's what I can plug him in. That's pulse strategy.
- 32:57Speaker 1: That's what I do. Unless you get a guy like
- 33:01Speaker 1: Shane Vereen or James White, you know, I just then
- 33:04Speaker 1: to keep them around a little. I would just get
- 33:06Speaker 1: the next Shane Vereen and James White. I mean, if
- 33:08Speaker 1: you had an Alvin Kamara somebody like that. Okay, now
- 33:12Speaker 1: you're talking a little bit now. I also that those
- 33:16Speaker 1: would be tough for me, Like the McCaffrey is the Camaras.
- 33:19Speaker 1: I recognize that they're different, but I don't want to
- 33:22Speaker 1: pay through the nose for a guy like that either,
- 33:25Speaker 1: because those guys all get hurt and then it get right,
- 33:27Speaker 1: and then it goes to, all right, this is our
- 33:28Speaker 1: team identity, we've we've identified, this is what we want
- 33:31Speaker 1: to do, and then that guy gets hurt. And you're
- 33:33Speaker 1: how many times you've seen Carolina and Tennessee trying to like, well,
- 33:36Speaker 1: can they just hold the fort till those guys come back?
- 33:39Speaker 1: Or you know, how do they manage to produce offense
- 33:41Speaker 1: without them? And I don't think you want to be
- 33:43Speaker 1: that team, but I am curious, Like I mean, I
- 33:45Speaker 1: thought we saw some good stuff out of Mac and
- 33:47Speaker 1: James White last year. And you know, I'll respect to
- 33:49Speaker 1: Brandon Boldman, who I thought did a good job this year. Right,
- 33:52Speaker 1: you know, I'd like to see so much talk of
- 33:54Speaker 1: adding playmakers at wide receiver. I think that's a spot
- 33:56Speaker 1: where maybe you could, you know, find a playmaker or somebody.
- 33:59Speaker 1: I know Deon lou was only here for a little bit,
- 34:01Speaker 1: but he was, you know, somebody who gave you a
- 34:02Speaker 1: little bit of a dynamic threat out of the backfield,
- 34:04Speaker 1: and you know, could do some things differently. So maybe
- 34:06Speaker 1: that's a way to add another twist to the offense
- 34:09Speaker 1: without you know, having to get that that day one
- 34:11Speaker 1: or two plus you guys were swapping texts last night,
- 34:14Speaker 1: um some cap cap soury cap stuff. I was really
- 34:17Speaker 1: disappointed that I didn't get you. I didn't get you. Well,
- 34:20Speaker 1: I found Miguel's Miguel's tweet, which which I would pointed
- 34:24Speaker 1: everybody to Miguel's um tweet from a couple of days ago.
- 34:27Speaker 1: But you know he just lists off but thirty different ways.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Let me take this napkin right here. I'll tell you
- 34:34Speaker 1: how you get some depth, right, And that's I mean,
- 34:36Speaker 1: I think I think fans in general. But at the
- 34:38Speaker 1: end of the day, how much space does he say
- 34:41Speaker 1: that they could create? I mean, like fifty million bucks? Like,
- 34:44Speaker 1: oh you wanted if you wanted to do it all.
- 34:46Speaker 1: But it's and he's not he's not saying that this
- 34:48Speaker 1: is something that they will do. He's just sort of
- 34:50Speaker 1: explaining a lot of mechanisms that they have that they're
- 34:54Speaker 1: disposed me to do it. I my my tweet was
- 34:57Speaker 1: more the Andrew Brandt tweet that I was you know,
- 35:00Speaker 1: a guy who was actually as opposed to a guy
- 35:02Speaker 1: who you know looks at the salary cap as a hobby,
- 35:06Speaker 1: he was actually in the NFL as the general manager
- 35:08Speaker 1: of an actual team and said, I think people would
- 35:13Speaker 1: be surprised to find out how much more fans talk
- 35:15Speaker 1: about the salary cap and the teams actually do themselves. Yeah,
- 35:19Speaker 1: I think I think so. I sent it to Fred Crickets. Well,
- 35:23Speaker 1: I mean I think that there's a I think the
- 35:25Speaker 1: cap is crap is a cute little quote, and I think,
- 35:28Speaker 1: but I think that that, But but it doesn't embody
- 35:32Speaker 1: better than the alternative, the nuance, everything that goes on,
- 35:34Speaker 1: and there's certainly, you know, ways to open it up,
- 35:36Speaker 1: I mean just to you know, run through some of
- 35:38Speaker 1: them for for people who aren't looking up. But you know,
- 35:40Speaker 1: Matthew Jude on salary to signing bonus conversion six point
- 35:43Speaker 1: six million in savings, no dead money, um, same same
- 35:46Speaker 1: thing with Jayla Mills two point three million hundred Henry
- 35:49Speaker 1: extension five millions. So you know, I mean, you have
- 35:51Speaker 1: to be proactive. You have to go to these guys
- 35:54Speaker 1: and and do these moves, and you know those are
- 35:56Speaker 1: those are probably they'd be more open to hey, do
- 35:58Speaker 1: you want a bunch of more money now? Like yeah,
- 36:00Speaker 1: uh um. But you know, it's just it's it takes
- 36:02Speaker 1: a little bit of digging. But it's not like you're
- 36:03Speaker 1: painted into a corner every ye we only have five
- 36:06Speaker 1: million cap space here is if you do that, yeah,
- 36:10Speaker 1: you're just putting it off and we just need to
- 36:12Speaker 1: get past get past that. I think there's always ways
- 36:14Speaker 1: to do it. I think that your cap space gives
- 36:16Speaker 1: you a general idea of what kind of offseason it's
- 36:19Speaker 1: gonna be. Last year, all right, it's going to be active.
- 36:21Speaker 1: I don't even think going into last year when they
- 36:23Speaker 1: had all that space, that I thought it was going
- 36:24Speaker 1: to be as active as it was. I don't. I
- 36:29Speaker 1: don't ever look at the cap space. I look at
- 36:30Speaker 1: the money, and I did not envision that last year.
- 36:33Speaker 1: No way. Yeah, And that's why I think Paul's point of,
- 36:35Speaker 1: you know, it's not so much about the cap this year.
- 36:37Speaker 1: It's they spent a ton of money last year. Are
- 36:39Speaker 1: they going to spend a ton of money again this year?
- 36:42Speaker 1: Probably not? And I mean I and you know, I
- 36:44Speaker 1: think where they're at, you need draft picks, you need
- 36:46Speaker 1: to hit on draft picks. Just that's that's the thing
- 36:49Speaker 1: that you need to do to build this team around
- 36:52Speaker 1: Mac Jones, to rebuild the defense. It's not hey, we're
- 36:55Speaker 1: a couple of players away and let's let's fill this
- 36:57Speaker 1: little hole here and we're good to go. It's you've
- 36:59Speaker 1: got significant stuff to do, and I just I'm looking
- 37:03Speaker 1: forward to going to the combine next week. We'll see
- 37:04Speaker 1: some of these guys and I think that's where they
- 37:06Speaker 1: can really make the noise. And if they can hit
- 37:08Speaker 1: on three guys at least like they did last year,
- 37:10Speaker 1: then you know you're starting to build something. You're getting
- 37:12Speaker 1: a young core, You're getting guys that you want to extend.
- 37:15Speaker 1: You haven't had that in the last five years. There's
- 37:17Speaker 1: you know, that's why you talk about Damian Harris, is
- 37:18Speaker 1: he up? You know, these are players that you draft,
- 37:21Speaker 1: that you develop and that's you know, that goes back
- 37:24Speaker 1: to jac Jackson. Why it's a little bit of this
- 37:27Speaker 1: sucks because you know, you found a guy, you developed
- 37:29Speaker 1: a guy. He grew up here, he learned the system,
- 37:31Speaker 1: he knows what he's doing. If he came back next year,
- 37:33Speaker 1: he could slide right. That one's a lot harder for me,
- 37:36Speaker 1: Like jac Jackson's a lot harder of a decision for me, Harris,
- 37:39Speaker 1: and I love Damian, yeah, but but I think it
- 37:42Speaker 1: just makes sense you let him go. So then you
- 37:45Speaker 1: have Romadre Stevenson entering year three, and you draft another
- 37:50Speaker 1: guy in the fourth round. Yeah, so he doesn't have
- 37:53Speaker 1: to step in and be good right away because you
- 37:55Speaker 1: have Stevenson. Yeah, right, and can that guy do this year? Right?
- 37:58Speaker 1: And then you have and you know when the when
- 38:01Speaker 1: the following year is up, you'll let Stevenson go and
- 38:03Speaker 1: hope that the guy you drafted. That's how you do it.
- 38:06Speaker 1: That's the basis of the Patriot success for the first
- 38:10Speaker 1: fifteen years of the dynasty was that we're going to
- 38:13Speaker 1: recycle the players. We're not going to marry our players.
- 38:16Speaker 1: We're gonna have, you know, a nucleus of guys that
- 38:19Speaker 1: we're going to build around and keep guys like Rabel
- 38:22Speaker 1: that got extra contracts, Ty Warren, you know, Richard Seymour.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Everybody knows who all the guys are. But we're not
- 38:28Speaker 1: going to fall in love with every single piece of
- 38:31Speaker 1: our championship puzzle because we we're just gonna draft guys
- 38:35Speaker 1: to replace them. And it's gonna you know, obviously it's
- 38:38Speaker 1: easier to do it that way when you have Brady.
- 38:41Speaker 1: I get it, you know, to Mike's point, like I
- 38:45Speaker 1: hear everybody in their brothers like they gotta get a
- 38:47Speaker 1: slot guy, Gotta get a slot guy, Gotta get a
- 38:49Speaker 1: slot guy. Yeah, you can add a slot guy. And
- 38:51Speaker 1: now it's you know, if James White comes back, you know,
- 38:54Speaker 1: that's not adding to the exposiveness of your offense. It's
- 38:58Speaker 1: not that that's not like in my opinion, it's not
- 39:00Speaker 1: the missing piece of the offense. Well, those guys help.
- 39:03Speaker 1: Would James White be better than Brandon Bolden? My guess
- 39:06Speaker 1: is yeah, he would be. But it helps Mack. I
- 39:10Speaker 1: don't think that. Yeah, I don't know how much. That's
- 39:12Speaker 1: my point. I don't. I didn't see a lot of
- 39:14Speaker 1: plays another trusted um target, that's all. Yeah, but you're
- 39:18Speaker 1: taking one away. Well, we're not playing Bolden and White
- 39:21Speaker 1: at the same time. I know, but I think that
- 39:25Speaker 1: I agree. But he's the same. But it's the same
- 39:27Speaker 1: type of player as what. Yeah, you know, you're you're
- 39:30Speaker 1: you're throwing little swing passes to the out of the
- 39:32Speaker 1: backfield to somebody. Yeah, it's not like a dynamic wide receiver.
- 39:35Speaker 1: I think you're not getting chunk plays. No, but I
- 39:37Speaker 1: think that you know, at least in the past, White
- 39:39Speaker 1: was better in clutch situations. He's he's a better player
- 39:43Speaker 1: bold and I would never suggest that otherwise. But I
- 39:45Speaker 1: was a better player. Bolden had as good a season
- 39:47Speaker 1: as you could have expected. Oh, absolutely, coming out. I'm
- 39:50Speaker 1: not sure I'm much better last year White would have been.
- 39:55Speaker 1: White's career has blown away Bolden, so like no one.
- 39:58Speaker 1: No one would argue that Bob and Wilmington. Do any
- 40:01Speaker 1: of you think Bill would be willing to trade Matt
- 40:03Speaker 1: Jones now for Russell Wilson or maybe Aaron Rodgers in
- 40:08Speaker 1: order to hurry our chances of winning another Super Bowl.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Max trade value is high right now and could make
- 40:14Speaker 1: the acquiring of a veteran quarterback and maybe adding a
- 40:17Speaker 1: draft pick along with it possible. Would you be willing
- 40:20Speaker 1: to give up the future for a championship now? Or
- 40:22Speaker 1: should Bill commit to the uncertain long term and hold
- 40:26Speaker 1: on to Mac. I don't know what Bill would do.
- 40:30Speaker 1: I would absolutely trade you know, first of all, you
- 40:33Speaker 1: can't do that, But I would include Mac Jones in
- 40:36Speaker 1: a package of first round picks for Russell Wilson absolutely
- 40:40Speaker 1: would Russell Wilson's going to play for another ten years. Yeah,
- 40:44Speaker 1: I was gonna like, it's not the question of whether
- 40:46Speaker 1: the Patriots would trade him for those guys, those guys
- 40:49Speaker 1: teams trade for. You'd have to give him Mac Jones
- 40:51Speaker 1: in a lot more, a hell of a lot more. Yeah, yeah,
- 40:54Speaker 1: you know, including like first round picks. Yeah, multiple, Yeah,
- 40:58Speaker 1: But that's always I mean, I think Bill likes where
- 41:02Speaker 1: they are. I think that he likes having a rookie
- 41:04Speaker 1: quarterback on a rookie contract. But I also think that
- 41:07Speaker 1: you never quite rule out when there's special football players
- 41:11Speaker 1: out there. That's my point, Like, I don't I refuse
- 41:13Speaker 1: to believe that Bill Belichick is so set in his
- 41:17Speaker 1: ways that he wouldn't say, now, you know, Aaron Rodgers
- 41:19Speaker 1: might be a different story, because that you might be
- 41:20Speaker 1: talking about a year now. I think Aaron Rodgers could
- 41:23Speaker 1: easily play another five years. But that guy, I mean,
- 41:26Speaker 1: you gotta sign. We haven't even talked about that guy. Yeah,
- 41:30Speaker 1: you know with his guy with his comment, what is
- 41:33Speaker 1: the puncham, what's what the punt? Oh punch? Yeah, I
- 41:39Speaker 1: mean that like coming out both ends. I like Eric,
- 41:42Speaker 1: it's my favorite. It's my favorite Felder because Felger gets
- 41:46Speaker 1: so mad and he goes, yeah, so around here, you
- 41:48Speaker 1: guys had Brady working on like his mobility in the
- 41:51Speaker 1: off season, and you know, trying to add another tool
- 41:54Speaker 1: to his two bucks, and and I get stuck with
- 41:56Speaker 1: this guy, you know, getting enemies, you know, in his
- 41:59Speaker 1: off season and taking twelve days off. It was just
- 42:02Speaker 1: like it's a masterclass in vitriol from Felger. All right,

- 54:02Speaker 1: logic behind where they stock fence. Yeah, the mayonnaise should
- 54:07Speaker 1: be by the tuna. Okay, Jerry, all right, you can
- 54:11Speaker 1: have another section with mayonnaise, but also put it by
- 54:14Speaker 1: the tuna. I agree. There should be hot dog buns
- 54:17Speaker 1: by the buns, but you have to go all the way. Yeah,
- 54:20Speaker 1: but you have to go all the way to the
- 54:22Speaker 1: bread aisle, sausages, the bus, just that stuff. Because I
- 54:29Speaker 1: get if you go in and you do big shops. Okay,
- 54:32Speaker 1: you're going up and down every aisle, but you just
- 54:35Speaker 1: get a couple of things. Then you don't go to
- 54:37Speaker 1: a supermarket, go to a convenience. Are you gonna be
- 54:40Speaker 1: a little hot dogs at seven eleven? Yes, it's the
- 54:43Speaker 1: same package of hot dogs at seven eleven. Check the
- 54:46Speaker 1: expiration date nicely. I would expire it. I mean, if
- 54:51Speaker 1: you don't check the inspiration date, that's on you because
- 54:54Speaker 1: they're sitting in there for a while. So then you
- 54:56Speaker 1: don't buy it. You don't go grocery shopping at seven eleven.
- 55:00Speaker 1: You go in there to get us Did he just change?
- 55:02Speaker 1: Did he just do what did he just do? A
- 55:04Speaker 1: pack of cigarette? He just did? He just change the
- 55:08Speaker 1: argument in typical friend fashion. That's another great moment from
- 55:14Speaker 1: So Perfect. That was the epitome of friend right there.
- 55:17Speaker 1: Seven to eleven. It's a convenience store, right, so, but
- 55:20Speaker 1: no one suggested you do your grocery shopping and if
- 55:22Speaker 1: you didn't know, you pick up a pack of hot
- 55:25Speaker 1: dogs like one item, Yeah, I just need something. If
- 55:28Speaker 1: it suggests if it's that hard, I wouldn't suggest that.
- 55:31Speaker 1: I wouldn't suggest katting the perishables from I wouldn't suggest
- 55:35Speaker 1: buying anything that has been perished. Yeah, that is beyond
- 55:38Speaker 1: its expiration. I don't even trust what that. I wouldn't
- 55:40Speaker 1: buy any just here's another tip for you. I wouldn't
- 55:43Speaker 1: buy a pack of hot dogs from stopping shop of
- 55:45Speaker 1: Shaws or anywhere else that's beyond the expiration. Absolutely not.
- 55:49Speaker 1: But like there was this one supermarket Red Lion. I
- 55:52Speaker 1: guess it's not up here but down south, and there
- 55:55Speaker 1: was a whole controversy because they were packaging the meat
- 55:59Speaker 1: putting the expiration, and then when they get close they
- 56:02Speaker 1: repackage it with a different one that's you know, like
- 56:06Speaker 1: the salmonella breakout over there, red lion. Yeah. I think
- 56:10Speaker 1: a lot of those expiration dates are all BS two anyway.
- 56:12Speaker 1: I think it's all just kind of arbitrary. Yeah, but
- 56:14Speaker 1: you know what it works because like if I see
- 56:16Speaker 1: an expiration day and it's like too close to like
- 56:19Speaker 1: that that day, I don't wry it. I don't don't
- 56:22Speaker 1: the dice on notion. I think the person who figures
- 56:26Speaker 1: out how to make milk not expire will be a billionaire,
- 56:31Speaker 1: because that's something. But there is a lot of different
- 56:33Speaker 1: kinds of milk. Now that lasts a long time. Yeah,
- 56:35Speaker 1: but I don't like all that others A kind of
- 56:37Speaker 1: milk I like just like milk, nut milk, Well you
- 56:40Speaker 1: can get like regular milks. That's what I want to
- 56:43Speaker 1: with the red cap milk, with the red cap, whole milk.
- 56:48Speaker 1: It's true like that he's a child. White blue is
- 56:50Speaker 1: like the cap. He's a child. You do two percent? No,
- 56:59Speaker 1: I do, he does milk the whole. Yeah, it says
- 57:01Speaker 1: a lot. It's kind of weird. A hole two one
- 57:04Speaker 1: skimmed m I don't like purple water, purple one fat
- 57:09Speaker 1: free purple. Yeah, what about like a ten percent? Why
- 57:12Speaker 1: can't we get a ten percent. Why has it got
- 57:13Speaker 1: to be U two one? Because what color would it be?
- 57:17Speaker 1: Wouldn't have a red cap, and Fred wouldn't want it
- 57:20Speaker 1: because it doesn't have a red cap. A different color. No,
- 57:23Speaker 1: But like you know, you get on like a cereal
- 57:25Speaker 1: jag and you use it up. But sometimes, you know,
- 57:27Speaker 1: you get off it for a while, and then you
- 57:29Speaker 1: get that milk in there and it's like starts to
- 57:31Speaker 1: separate a little Barry starts to puff out a little bit.
- 57:35Speaker 1: I don't know red cap dairy pro be a red
- 57:38Speaker 1: you don't know red. Definitely, do not roll the dice
- 57:40Speaker 1: on specially, I do not on expiration dates. Now we
- 57:44Speaker 1: don't either. It's more it's more Lane, she she got
- 57:47Speaker 1: salmonella one time. So now if we're even in the
- 57:48Speaker 1: vicinity of an expiration date, I I'm putting my nose
- 57:51Speaker 1: right in that making sure and you're right though, Deuce
- 57:54Speaker 1: like that. I've I've heard nutrition and medical experts say
- 57:59Speaker 1: that the inspiration dates are generally for when it's at
- 58:03Speaker 1: its best, like you can still eat it for like
- 58:06Speaker 1: a certain amount of time afterwards, Like they they recommend
- 58:09Speaker 1: that you do it by this date in order for
- 58:10Speaker 1: it to be at its freshest, most tastiest, not that
- 58:13Speaker 1: it's going to be like immediately like it's good today,
- 58:16Speaker 1: Tomorrow it's gonna kill you. It's it's kind of that's true,
- 58:20Speaker 1: but like think about the lawsuits they subjected to it.
- 58:23Speaker 1: That being said, I don't like to roll the dice anyway.
- 58:25Speaker 1: I don't want to take the chayah you want the
- 58:27Speaker 1: longest lasting exactly right, right. Yeah. I'm always mad at
- 58:31Speaker 1: myself when I don't check that stuff and then I
- 58:33Speaker 1: get home and I realize, like, oh, the chickens expiring tomorrow,
- 58:35Speaker 1: you know, try to like plan the week out. But yeah,
- 58:38Speaker 1: it's uh, it's always unfortunate. You're getting ready to cook
- 58:40Speaker 1: and then yesterday. Yeah yeah you can freeze stuff too.
- 58:47Speaker 1: You can get away with that. Yeah yeah, once he
- 58:49Speaker 1: get yeah, sure, once you get it. Yeah, there you go. Yeah,
- 58:52Speaker 1: all right, little inspiration to talk, all right eight five
- 58:57Speaker 1: five passive ticket hutline web radio at pictures dot com
- 59:01Speaker 1: is the email address. Let's go to William and Philim.
- 59:03Speaker 1: What's up? William? Hey, what's up for it? How are
- 59:06Speaker 1: you going? Good? O't cay um? Just two two things? Recently?
- 59:14Speaker 1: When uh, when did the big long start keeping somebody.
- 59:19Speaker 1: I look at jac Jackson and he I mean, he
- 59:22Speaker 1: worked his tail off to gets who yet now, so
- 59:26Speaker 1: why wouldn't we just keep letting our players just leave
- 59:29Speaker 1: for nothing? I mean, we don't get like he's a
- 59:32Speaker 1: first round pick for me basically, you know, anything less
- 59:34Speaker 1: than it's like this disrespectful to him. Be well. I mean,
- 59:38Speaker 1: if they do the tag, that might happen, they might
- 59:40Speaker 1: trade him. But you know, I think, like Paul said,
- 59:44Speaker 1: the opinions on jac Jackson are all over the place,
- 59:48Speaker 1: but on what they're gonna do with him. Yeah, but
- 59:50Speaker 1: I even think as a player, I think those people
- 59:53Speaker 1: think he's good, not great. Yeah, I think that's a
- 59:55Speaker 1: pretty universally held no. But other people think he's top
- 59:59Speaker 1: flight cornerback. Yeah, we're worth the first round pick. And
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: I think some people are worried that he's not gonna
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: I think some people are worried that he's the best
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: cornerback you have, there's no doubt there, and that if
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: you lose him, now you're in. Even the problem with
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: the compensation is whoever trades for him is going to
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: have to give him a deal too. That lowers the
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: right you know, now, you're going to trade a first
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: round pick for a guy you only have under control
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: but one year. Let me, I don't know the rule here,
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: Like if I if I sign him to the franchise tag. Now,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: the rule is you have to give up two first
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: round picks if you sign him if you sign him
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: another team. But can I can? I Like, I don't
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: have to take a first round pick for him, right, right,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: I could. I could say, okay, we'll give him to
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: you for a second round pick. Yeah, right, Matt Castle
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: didn't get a first round Yeah, So like you don't
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: have to give up a lot if the other team
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: in this case, the Patriots are willing to do a
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: deal with Yeah, if you're yeah, if you're talking about
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: a trade. So basically the franchise tag, it's a gamble,
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: but it's just a way to keep the rights a
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: little longer so you can get into that negotiation. Yeah,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: you know. Yeah, But I get William's bigger point of
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: just as a fan, you want to have players that
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: you can invest in and think are going to be
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: here for a long time. And I mean, I think
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: that's part of the reason why people are rallying around
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: mac Jones, just because he's a quarterback and you know
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: he's a rookie, but there hasn't been enough of it
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: over you know. And I think that relays into miss
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: draft picks in sixteen seventeen, that area where you know,
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: guys now that you will be extending it's not. And
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: so do you get attached to somebody, uh, you know,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: like Michael and when you or Jacoby Myers, even when
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: you know, I don't know, they might not be here
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: past the year or two. So that's I get the point.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: It's it's it's it's frustrating when you don't really have
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: a core that you believe in. And it felt like
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: early two thousands, you know, you just you knew what
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: to expect for a good handful of years there where
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: you knew the core was coming back. You knew the
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: players you love, the jerseys you were going to buy.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: And I think that's been a little harder over the
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: last couple of years. Yeah, And just my last question
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: is that this is kind of a big window. All right, Um, Mike,
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: I'm with you. I like there, well, like I hold
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: Peopall some type of way he's forgotten and people that
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: I just hold Bill picks, you know, it's like, you know,
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: somebody's in in that, you know, in the GM room
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: with him, and just someone gotta someone that has a
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: voice in the end and be like Bill, hold up, no,
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: don't get it, Go get Garrett Wilson, you know, don't
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: go pick it something like a Nick Chill Harry again
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: and then you know we're back to square one again,
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: you know. And I don't know, Paul, you know about
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: this or the receiver two named Johan adopts them from
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Penn State. Uh, I think people sleeping on him. Yep, Yeah,
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: he's good. I mean I think it's just you know,
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: like we said, I think that that day late day
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: one into day two. There's it's like every year we
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: talk about it, there's guys. What do you like do
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: you like you know, the Laves who were super athletic
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: and smooth, you like, you know, bigger guys like Trailing
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: Burke's from Arkansas. Uh, You're gonna have a pot pourri
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: of options to choose at that point. And I mean,
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: I'm with you. I don't know what. We'll see what
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: they do because I just don't get it to that
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: first round. Yeah, that's all Like I think those guys
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: are good players, but I don't want to take a reason.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: I think they have more needs Sean and Vancouver. I
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: agree with Eric the Patriots should only tag Jackson if
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: they feel they can trade him. If jac wants too
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: much money for a long term deal, he will be
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: playing somewhere else. What's too much money? Don't he doesn't
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: say it doesn't make sense to pay him seventeen million
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: for just another season at this point, Ideally New England
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: tags JC then trades him for a second round pick.
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: See I disagree with that. I don't. I don't think
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: seventeen million is what he's worth. Like, I don't really understand,
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: Like I think people just want good players for no money.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: I think that's what everybody wants. Well, like, oh, I'll
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: give him ten, Like, well, he's worth twenty. So sorry,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: that's that's what he's gonna get on the open market. Yeah,
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: he's gonna get eighteen million annual value, you know, probably
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: forty forty five million guaranteed. That's what he's going to
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: get if he's signed somewhere. That's his value. You can
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: call it stupid if you don't want to pay the
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: market value. Zack and Brighton, while j Jackson is still
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: a hot topic this week. Although uncommon, I think he
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: is a great tag and trade candidate. This is my
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: perfect and never going to happen plan for Jac To
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: set the stage. The Patriots would first have to sign
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: a guy like Shavarius Ward at nine to twelve million
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: a year in free agency or a similar tier cornerback.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: I would offer jac on the tag to the Eagles
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: for one of their first round picks. They land a
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Pro Bowl corner and still have two first I get
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: that they could just draft a corner, but Jac is
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: a proven talent. Now that the Patriots have two first
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: round picks, we could draft a cornerback like Andrew Booth,
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: Trent McDuffie, Kyler Gordon, etc. Assuming sauces off the board,
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: and still have twenty one to either trade down or
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: hit another position. You just want a guy named Yeah.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: I know tag and trades are uncommon, but if you're
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: able to come out of the first with both Andrew
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: Booth and Chris Olave, I think it's a big win.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: While Jac is better than all of the other cornerbacks
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: mentioned right now, I would rather sacrifice one single top
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: end talent for better depth all around. If a trade
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: doesn't happen, you still control JC on the tag. I
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: just I think I don't think you're gonna get a
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: first round pickup, even with the Eagles with multiple I
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: don't think you're gonna get sign up for that though. Absolutely. Yeah.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: I just think the only thing doesn't make sense to
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: me will be to tag them and play them one
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: more year. And it's like the same reasoning for Tuny,
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: you know where. Yeah see, I don't think that's the
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: same though, Like Tuny made zero sense at all. They
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: weren't going anyway. They were in a complete and total rebuild,
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: and they wasted, you know, all that money on a Guard.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: First of all, I wouldn't tag a Guard under any circumstances,
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: but that particular year made no sense. This. I mean,
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: you're telling me they don't have any any aspirations this year. No,
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: I think they should have aspirations, but I have, Like
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: I'm not telling you, do you think they're going to
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: win the Super Bowl? I don't. I think all four
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: of us would probably would a lie detector tests say. No,
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: I don't think they're gonna win the super Bowl this year,
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: but I don't think there's any reason to go into
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: the season saying they're not a playoff team. Yeah, I mean,
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: I look, I see the argument based on the importance
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: of the position and how little they have, So in
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: that regard, I see it. But I also don't know
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: how much of a difference he makes. And and you know,
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: is he the difference of beating Buffalo one out of
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: two times in the regular season, I don't, I don't know.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: I don't know. I do have concerns, Paul about whether
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: or not they can take a step forward this coming
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: yet based on I'm not telling you you don't have questions.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: I'm saying they're at a much higher position right now
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: than they were in twenty twenty. Yeah, going into the season,
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: I don't think there's any reason to go in and
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: say it doesn't matter if we have JC Jackson, we're
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: not going anywhere. Like if you're gonna use the term,
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: is he going to make the difference? Tom Brady's gone.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: That's one of like five players that league that will
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: make a difference, Like they don't. There's not a lot
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: of players that you could just say one guy, he's
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: in or out, that's a difference between you winning thirteen
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: or nine, Like do you know what I mean. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: And to the point, like I totally agree with Mike
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: about the Joe Toney franchise was dumb. There was a
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: waste of money, and it took Belichick like three weeks
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: to start complaining about his lack of flexibility once the
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: season started. If you recall, remember he was already complaining,
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: you know, the Charlie way, we don't have any money,
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: we can't do this, can't do that. I heard that.
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: I heard Felger on that rank yesterday too, and he
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: was right. This year they won ten games. I don't
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: know how good they are, but they should be in
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: the playoff mix again. Yep. Either that or you grossly,
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: you know, have mismanaged your quarterback, misevaluated your quarterback. Everybody's
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: telling me how great he is. If you're not in
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: the playoff mix, then you missed your evaluation there. But
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: I'm not telling you JC Jackson's going to be the
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: difference between making the playoffs and not making the playoffs.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: But you can't convince me that you're not better with
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: him than you would be without them. Absolutely, But I
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: think it gets to the bigger picture of the defense. Yes,
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: I think a lot of people are holding their breath
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: when it comes to predictions to see what are they
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: doing with the defense? Yeah? Yeah, and I think that's
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: that's to me, which is what is very interesting is
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: how do they reallocate their funds. I mean, they've got
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: to redo the linebackers, They've got free agents there that
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: they have to address, and then you have JC Jackson,
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: So you know, how are they going to allocate their money?
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: And what does it tell us what they think of
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: their defense that you know last time was not forcing
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: any punts. So I mean, I'm sure they have a
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: plan to get back, but you're gonna have to play
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: Josh Allen twice. Right, that's not going away. But if
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: the plan to get the defense back to get worse
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: from a talent perspective, oh, I don't know. I'm sure
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: that's not the plan, but that might. But I mean,
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: if you end up happening, no, I listen, I'm not
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: I'm not suggesting that they need to resign j C.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: Jackson at all costs. I think I'm on record from
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: the start is saying I don't think he's going to
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: be back, and I'm not sure that I would have
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: him back. Yeah. Um, but but what else are you
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: gonna do? Yeah, I just I don't know. I just
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: don't like the idea of saying, well, well, they're not
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: they're not good enough to go anywhere, so you might
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: just let him go, like if you could. I'm not
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: saying that, if you could franchise him, And then I
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: think franchising him for a year and drafting a corner
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: in round one is not a bad idea. You know,
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: hopefully you hit on that corner, you let jayc walk
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: after the one year, and you have a guy to
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: replace jac now. And at the same time, your defense
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: isn't you know, a train wreck. I think there's a
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: possibility that that secondary could be in disarranged. Well you
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: say at that right, at the same time, your defense
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: isn't a train wreck. What are they going to do
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: to keep that from happening? Like what are they doing
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: at linebacker if High Tower leaves? And you know, yeah,
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: that's that's what I'm looking at, Like, you know, how
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: many of the veterans that you relied on are not
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: going to be back. I have a feeling it's going
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: to be a big number. And how do you replace
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: them or try to replace them? Do you have to
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: play a lot of the guys who are already here
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: who haven't played much, and that's a big question mark
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: going in. You know, how lucky a you're gonna get
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: in free agency or the draft with somebody who can
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: make an impact right away. So I think that that
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: that leaves me questioning about where where they're gonna end up.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: Who are we playing outside? Are we're playing the South?
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: This year? We are playing play the AFC North. Okay,
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: well that's that's no bargain, right, I mean Cincinnati. But
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: what does the schedule have to do with how you
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: formulate your team? I'm just you gotta I'm just saying that,
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: you know, we're playing some good offenses, You're gonna need
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: a good defense, decent defense, you know, because I don't
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: think the offense all of a sudden is gonna be
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: a game. You're you're gonna need a better defense than
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: what we saw at the last month and a half
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: of the season. Yeah, because that you couldn't keep up
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: with anybody. I think the defense is going to struggle.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: I think the defense has got some holes in it,
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: But I just don't think that the solution is to
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: create more holes. That's all you might hear this point,
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: you might have to like if you can't pay, like,
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: why can't you, Like if you don't want to pay
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: Jackson because you don't like the player, I have no
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: problem with that. I just don't want to hear well
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: you can't do that? Why, Well, I mean you could,
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: but now that's a big chunk of your salary cap
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: that's going to one player. And well that's post point.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. Well, but I think on the franchise
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: tag it does because that's a one year deal for
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: a set amount of money. I mean, and that's perfect
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: one year. But also that's my hole but that's but
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: also what are you gonna do for one year? But
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: you got to pay the cash to somebody? I know,
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: like if you were if that's what I said, I've
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: been saying that. But if you felt like we can
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: go to the super Bowl, we just need to retain
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: this guy, Okay, fine, but for one year he's that's
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: not going to be a difference maker to get you
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: to the super Bowl. So you have to weigh that
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: and whether or not you want to invest in a
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: guy for one year or longer who's not going to
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: help you get there. So don't like resign anybody. No,
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: but like, so don't I mean you, I assume that
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: you don't want to resigned Devin mccordy, then why because
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: that's a lot of money. I's not gonna make a
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: difference been you're making the super Bowl or not. I
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: think he's past his would I would bring him back.
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: I think you've got money allocated for him already. So
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: it just it makes sense too. What money do you
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: have allocated tool? What doesn't he have? I mean, he's
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: already got voided years that so I mean you got out.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: But that's some money he's getting paid. So that's gonna
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: so if they signed conference that's completely separated about that's
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: on the cap already, he's got to get paid in addition. Yes,
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: so there's no he has no salary twenty two twice
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: a free agent, all right. I didn't understand that the
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: void year is, like contracts, a cap mechanism. Yeah, it's
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: amazing how many of those they are. So so there's
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: nothing that can be done about that. That that that
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: that void year money they signed into a one year
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: ten million dollar contract, whatever, the void year dead money
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: would be ten plus whatever that void year is on
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: the cap. Okay, so instead of being ten million on
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: the cap, he would be thirteen million on the cap.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: I don't know what what I got. I remember with
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: Brady it was twelve and a half million, right, yeah, okay,
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: I understand, just remember that number sticking out in my head. Um.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: But even even still, it doesn't really change a lot
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: for me. I would, I would bring him back, but
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: I just I would like to know what the coaching
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: staff looked at that defense at the end of the
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: season and said, why do we stink? Like why? Because
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: and now I'm with you, because you know what were
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: the and and besides, just we didn't have the right players,
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: Like the team folded like there was something. Yeah, the
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: Cycliz Jackson was part of that. And I and I
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: and that's why you want to let him go. You
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: want to ever hear a peep out of me? And
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: I'm not I'm not trying to insinuate that or make
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: that leap, but I just think, you know, there's a
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: lot of things that you could come out of that
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: season saying what went wrong? And you know, I think
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: a traditional my point of view might be you got
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: pushed around. You just you don't have the guys up front.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: You lose the battle upfront philosophically when I you know,
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: came into this that you know, that's kind of where
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: I started of you can figure out corners, and of
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: course you want good corners, but I think the game
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: starts up front and that's where you win. Sopposite, But yeah,
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: go ahead, let them run, Let them run. Who cares
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: if you can't stop them from throwing it all over
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: the yard and you know, maybe forced Josh Allen to
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: at least throw any complete pass once in a while.
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: You can't stop any what's the other thing, in your opinion,
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: what stops the team from throwing it all over the yard?
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: Best good up front with pressure or good coverage you
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: need both? Well, yeah, but what's anybody we don't have coverage,
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: you can't do anything. I'd start with the front. I'd
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: start with the front. I'd start Those are the guys
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: that are involved in every play. How many plays a
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: game are cornerbacks involved in? The times they're thrown at? Yeah,
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: so you know all the ones that produce points. Wow,
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: that's except for the ones that are running. It's like
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: special teams. But yeah, there are a lot of you
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: complain about the running defense. You'll you'll go to that
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: all the time. I think that they struggle stopping the run.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: I don't think that's the biggest problem with the defense,
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: and I would agree with you on that point. I
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: just think they don't win up front. I think that
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: they're guys around the problems with the run stopping or
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: with teams that can throw. Like Tennessee came in here
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: and ran it all over you, but they couldn't throw
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: because they didn't have any receivers that day and there
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: was no issue. There was no problem Cleveland, same thing. Yeah,
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: but Buffalo, that's a different animal. Plus Buffalo is running.
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: Josh Allen's a big part of that, and that's not
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: necessarily a conventional They can't stop the run because Josh
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: Allen had sixty five yards rushing, do you know what
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: I mean? Like, I don't think Devin Singletary had you know,
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: he had he had a fine game in the playoffs.
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: Devin Singletary was solid. It was a matter of fact.
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: In both of those games, the one the day after
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: Christmas as a received her and then the one in
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: the playoffs as a runner. He was fine. He was
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: really solid. Was that really the thing that cost you
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: the game or was it the fact that you could
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: not stop Josh Allen all night. Can I go back
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: to mccordy for a second, since you guys both said
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: you would take him back this year. Mccordy, Yeah, I
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: just would worry about a purge of leadership. Well, I
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: understand that, but I am thinking back to how many
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: times this past season we saw a big play down
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: field and we were like, where was mccordy, Or he
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: took the wrong angle there, drop like, he didn't look
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: like the same mccordy that I've seen here for the
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: better part of the previous ten years or however long
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: it's been. And to me, I start to think that
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: he's maybe, you know, lost a little bit of a step.
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: And a leadership is great, but I'd much rather have
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: guys out there who were making plays. Yeah, I'd much
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: rather see Adrian Phillips on the field more. I'd much
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: rather give you know, Kyle Dugger more more playing time.
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: But those guys play full time. But I don't know,
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: Josh Ucha is a guy that Dante hi Taler might
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: have been blocking, or Jawan Bentley may have been blocked.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: You know, all of those linebackers uh, Collins. Yeah, I'd
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: rather I would say, let those guys go. I want
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: to see Jay, I want to see Perkins. I want
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: to see if mccrohan can play. But like mccordy's not
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: blocking Dugger and Phillips from playing, right, I don't know
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: they play. I mean, Mike, you have all the numbers.
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: I mean you might have, you might have something might
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: There were a couple times where I might have been
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: saying what you were saying, Eric, but we were also
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: saying talking about coaching, and so was he. Yeah, we
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: were just in the wrong position. We were in the
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: wrong place. I don't know how much a part of
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: it that was right. And I also remember I think
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: it was was it Devon who maybe voiced some concern
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: about like getting plays called in on time him, Yeah,
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: you know that's what I'm not being in the right call. Yeah,
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: that's what I'm talking about. You know. Is that true
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: or is that excuse exactly? We don't know. Yeah, I'll
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: let you know if they let him go, right. I
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: just I see I guess I see him. I like,
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: you know, the points about leadership, especially this year, if
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: everybody changes, But I just see him as a free
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: safety now who kind of keeps the back end in order,
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: you know, don't get beat over the top. Um, it's
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: almost more of a role player now be but a lot.
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: But I I mean, but you're not wrong. And I mean, look,
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: the guy's been in the league ten years. If they
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: move on from him, I mean, I like him a lot,
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: but I'm not I'm not gonna sit here and tell
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: you that's ridiculous they let a guy like that go. No,
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: I just think it makes some sense to keep one
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: of those veterans. What's more like to help in that
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: mccordy goes or mccordy stays and his brother comes back. Okay,
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: that would be Philippe in Rio de Janeiro. It's in um.
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: A couple of conspiracy theories. Paul likes this one. Could
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: Bill have decided to set up the offensive coaches with
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: no clear leader just to double down on what he's
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: doing on defense, so to avoid criticism. In other words,
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: I'm doing it on both sides. It's not just defense
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: criticism that's worked out well. And two, could Bill resign
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: JC just because he's not in the mood to go
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: through coaching a new cornerback? No? No, yeah, good try though. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: we could use a game or two. I'm gonna put
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: it out there. We need to game. Okay, all right,
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: I got forty more minutes. I want a game, Chris
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: and Virginia. I have a lot of concerns off season.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: Our corner situation is a concern. Even if we do
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: resign J C. Jackson, the depth is really bad behind him.
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: So do you resign him and hope for the best
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: with the draft, or do you take that money and
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: get two decent corners. Our linebacker corps needs to be
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: improved in On our defensive line, I think it needs
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: one or two more pieces the offensive line. There's needs
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: wide receiver. Obviously, there's a question like always, sorry for
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: my rant. There's just a lot of room to improve.
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: And there's a lot of needs this offseason money wise
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: and draft capital. I just don't think they can all
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: be solved. It's a multi year rebuilding that I think
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: is now getting started. And don't get me started on
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: my concerns over this coaching staff. So I personally believe
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: that there's a good chance that the Patriots take a
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: step back this year. What are your guys thoughts. I
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: personally think it's another two years away from legit contention,
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: I'm with you with the concern I think they I
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: think they could take a step back. Yeah, well, I
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: mean I think just generally, my feeling is I'm not
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: really that concerned or interested in guys over thirty years
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: old with his team, like the current guys on the roster,
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: free agents, like you know, this is they got to
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: build for the future. I think it's all about the draft.
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: It's all about you know, last year they got the
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: free agents. They're all first contract kind of guys, twenty six,
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: twenty seven years old. You know, if high Tower wants
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: to come back, of course you'd have them. If McCardy
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: want to come out, of course you have them. But
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: I think what's really going to propel the team ord
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: is given the these young linebackers a chance, or you know,
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: finally making a decision of how we're going to recalibrate
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: and move forward defensively on with the ball, and who's
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: going to be here for a while. That's why I like,
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: you know, talk about Jason mccordy's like, no, not bad,
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: we don't want problem. It's like you say, oh, if
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: Dante wants to come back, of course, you have. It's
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: like in a starting role or in a reserve role.
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: You know, I think, I mean, I honestly I think.
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: I mean, I think he needs to take a step back.
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: I mean, I think and I think that they need
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: to get I mean, I don't want to block Collins back.
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: You know, it's just it's hard and I think, you know,
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: I'm probably putting my Patriots fan hat on here a
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: little bit where you're talking about guys that you just
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: have such respect for who have been there and done that.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: And there's you know, when Brady left and other guys
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: have left, Like, I don't mind him being on the team.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: I just hope there's somebody better than him on the team. Yeah,
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: you know, and that he's not playing as much, right
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: and I mean, and yeah, he's you know, I don't
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: want him on the team. I really don't because I
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: think he'll I don't trust it. I think he'll block
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: guys from playing. I think that if, if, if, given
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: the chance, he'll fall back into he knows what I
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: want him to do. Yeah, well it's great he can't
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: do it anymore, but you know, it's great that he
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: knows what he's doing. I think you got to lift
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: through some young guy mistakes and hope that you've hit
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: now built like this is where kids play. I'll play
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: Fred's side of the street. Now Bill knows if if
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: Bill thinks I missed, I missed on Jennings, I missed
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: on Uch, I missed on Perkins, these guys can't play.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: If he knows that, then maybe you have to resign
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: hi Well, Bentley or someone. And that just goes back
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: to when they brought van Noy back last year early
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: in the priest and I said a similar thing, like
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: I don't like this because he's going to play. I
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: know Bill's gonna play those veterans over those young guys.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: And you lost a year or Winnivich, you lost a
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: year or Uch. I'm not telling you the individual guy,
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: like I'm not like sitting here pounding the table for
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: the one guy. I'm just saying you have four or
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: five young linebacker types, none of which has proven a
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: thing because he never gets a chance to. Now, maybe
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: they don't get a chance to because Bill already knows
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: they can't play. And if that's if that's the case,
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: you got bigger problems. Yeah, which is what you do.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: The signal is and then it was even compounded when
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: they brought Collins back in. So are you bringing Van
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: Nois and Collins back? If you feel like right, maybe
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: we should take some lumps with these guys. Well that's it.
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: If if you knew like luche's fine, you know, win
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: of it, then you wouldn't bring Collins back. Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: I'm not sure though, I think he ye, he just
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: likes the veterans. Yeah, Dan in New Hampshire. Seeing how
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: everything played out this year with Mac Jones, if you
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: had the chance last year to take a player like
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: Justin Fields play a year as a backup to Cam,
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: would you change quarterbacks? Or are you happy with Mac?
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: I don't so what would in other words start Cam
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: and have Fields on the bench. I don't know, But
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: would you if you had, if you could take Fields,
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: would you take him? Now? Yeah? Now I would? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: probably think. I think the only one that I don't
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: know mack is on your team is Trey Lance because
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: I just don't know enough about him. But I think
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: I would take the others over him. Um, maybe not Wilson. Yeah,
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: I don't know if Wilson is going to be disciplined enough,
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: but I would definitely take Trevor Lawrence or definitely take
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: Justin Fields. Uh speing freds Noo. I'd like to see
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: a dramatic film about the trials and tribulations of Mike's
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: Brady fandom, starring Peter Laurie as Mike Deuce, a lonely,
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: weird blogging boy who falls in and out of love
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: with a man who never knew he existed. Imagine how
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: much he must have liked him after me behind they were,
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: they worked for the team, and they're fighting Fred all
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: the time. Anyway, you guys are on fire today. Really
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: good shoe. Uh question, what's the biggest the single biggest
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: re and why the Patriots are currently facing talent deficits
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: at so many spots? It's probably but mainly it's the drafting,
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: right drafting. I think they had a five year you know, lull.
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: Now hopefully last year they have three good guys and
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: who knows, you might get another one with mcron if
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: he can play. We haven't seen him. He had a
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: red shirt year, but he had a legit red shirt,
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: ye not not a build refused to play him year.
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: He had a torn acl The year before that, you
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: had dugger and you had to win you and who
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: else I'm missing? I'm missing somebody right, And you can
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: say yeah, right kind of still, but I would put
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: oocha in the mcgron category, like maybe he can play right.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: And that's how you get out of this. You have
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: to stack drafts. We keep talking about that every show
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: we say it, or two second year jumps, you know,
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: you have to stack drafts together. That's how they did it,
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: you know, when they were really going well with you know,
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: we're gonna get Dion Branch and David Gibbons and Daniel
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: Graham one year, and then the next year we're gonna
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: get Ty Warren and Dan Copin, and the next year
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: we're gonna get you know, Benjamin Watson and Vince Wilford.
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: All of a sudden, four years later, the nucleus of
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: your team is four year guys that you drafted that
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: know everything that you're doing. That's how that's how you
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: have to get out of it. Yeah. Yeah, Burt on
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: Burton Island. A couple of shows ago, there was some
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: good what if talk, specifically about what if the Patriots
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: had won the eighty five Super Bowl. Well, I don't
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: think anyone was beating the Bears that year. I have
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: another what if scenario for your perusals. Not a game,
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: but it's a what if. What if the Patriots had
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: won Super Bowl twenty that would be awesome? What if
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: Parcels and Crafts got along better? And furthermore, what if
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: the potat Green Bay in ninety six? Parcels then stays
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: in New England for the rest of his career, retiring
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: retiring in two thousand and six. They get back to
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: the Super Bowl once losing to Saint Louis. Tom Brady
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: has a very good career in pitts Burg, getting to
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: three Super Bowls and winning two, but the Steelers are
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: overshadowed by the Belichick Manning dynasty. Oh my god, who
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: appeared in seven Super Bowls, winning four. As for the Patriots,
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: they had their one moment of glory in ninety six,
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: which we all still look back on. Wow, I love
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: the original premise. What if Parcels and craft got along famously?
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: Yeah and never had a rift? Well, Curtis Martin maybe
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: stays yeah yeah, And I'm not exaggerating. I think they
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: could have won count with Super Bowls. Curtis Martin was awesome,
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: especially back then, meant something. I'm imagining a different universe
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: Paul Parillo, where it's like bledsoe got that got the
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: Super Bowl and Brady that guy. No, we got blood.
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: Here's a career back out that Brady just so the
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: journeyman secure in his bloods championship love. Sorry, Paul just
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: hurt himself. Padum pat an Agawam writes in if Belichick
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: indeed goes with Nick, Cayley and these other newer assistants,
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: the probability of the coaching staff going through growing pains
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: is going to be high, and could it show up
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: on the field, more specifically with Mac. In my opinion,
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: this is a big reason why they need a good
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: young receiver in round one or two in the draft
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: and nail the pick. To me, it makes sense to
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: throw talent at the inevitable, inexperienced problems and hope they
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: don't tread water all season. Who want talented? Nick's not
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: an experience though he's been here for a while. Yeah,
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: you know, and you only gain experience. You only gain
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: experience by being given the opportunity. Yeah, Josh didn't have
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: the opportunity before he got it. There is this whole
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: Mac Jones thing It's a trick that I think people
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: have really managed to pull off. Like he is the future,
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: He's the guy. I'm certain of it. He's the guy.
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: You gotta get him some more weapons, though you can't.
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: He's got to get a talent around him. You gotta
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: build him. I gotta get I don't know how those
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: two things mesh necessarily, But why if he's as good
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: as you say he is, you shouldn't have to use
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: the first round pick on a wide receiver? Matt Stafford,
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: I mean he didn't. They did draft, They did draft
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: talent in in Detroit, they just had other issues. What
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: does that mean? Well, like, once he got with a
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: good team with good offense around him, he won a
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: super Bowl. He had some good players around him in
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: Detroit too, well, he had he had some good players. Yeah,
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: you know Calvin Johnson. Yeah, yeah, arguably one of the
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: five best. He had a good player exactly. Yeah. But
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: my point is, if he's that good, why is everybody
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: so hell bent on you gotta get him so well?
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: I mean, is Kendrick Born, Nelson Agalore and Jacobe Meyers
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: like that bad that he can't compete with them? I
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: think this year they'll be even better. And I think, like,
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: I'm not freaking out, like, oh, if they don't get
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: a wide receiver, they're cooked. Now. Now I'm not personally,
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: I'm not I'm all four. They need more weapons around
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: mac Jones. Yeah, I'm not freaking myself. I'm more consusing
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: with defense, and I think Mac Jones needs help, right, Yes,
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: I don't think he's good enough to lift them. They
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: need to lift. No, he's not an elite quarterback. Well,
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: see that's the way he's described. Who describes him that way?
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: My people, isn't I yeah that your people mine, but
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: but not just not just your people, because you don't
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: really describe him that way. He's not elite. Balance, he's
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: a good quarterback. I saw someone yesterday and I'm very
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: pleased he's ours. NBC Sports Boston had their quarterback rankings.
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: Where's that clip? Mac Jones? Just isn't that good? Dean
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: finished in context had like thirty thirty, like thirty seven
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: touchdowns at seven interceptions. Yeah, to two spots behind Mac.
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: That was another one. I was like, I don't know
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: how you just do this? What was the one? Paul?
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: This year? You came upon my desk and I was like, wait, oh,
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: Carson Wentz. Carson Wentz. That was the one where you
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: came up and I was like, he hasn't torn any interception.
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah yeah yeah, You're like what Carson Wentz. Yeah,
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: h Carson Wentz is damaged, Like there's something wrong with
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: him mentally. Yeah. Yeah. They were in the market for QB.
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: That's why. That's why they moving on from him. I
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: think that they are spooked by him. I think he
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: always wasn't that good, but out he was. He had
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: more reckless abandoned in his early years and he just
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: run the ball more. And then once that he got
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: that injury in seventeen, he was he was really good. Yeah. Um,
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: Robert writes in from North Carolina, currently camping in xissix, California.
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: A lot of z z z why z x z
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: why z x? I remember that sign on the way
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: to Vegas, right that? I mean, if I believe that's
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: how it's pronounce, why it's that and the giant thermometer
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: somewhere about an hour out from those are the two
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: like things you remember from the drive to Vegas? And
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: is that like a desert? And what is it? Zzz
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: zz why z x middle of nowhere. Quick question. I
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: keep hearing you guys talk about B Flow. Who is that?
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: I can't figure out who or what B Flow is?
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: Brian b Flow, keep Brian Flores or be Low Brian Low. Yeah,
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: it's Brian Low. Brian Low used to work here dogs
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: And and then there's B Flow, which is Brian Flores.
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: And there's be Low, which is underneath the desk. Yeah,
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: and then there's the flow B which is a haircut,
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: hair hard thing. Right, So it could either be Brian
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: Floores or Brian Low context similar people. Bill Belichick was
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: actually texting Brian Low congratulations on this coaching job. I'm Brian,
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: but I mean if you're going to coach, I mean
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: I'll coach um. Let's see Raj and Saint Louis. Here's
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: a bragging opportunity which non Patriots draft pick take, draft
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: pick take did you absolutely nail at the time? For example,
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: I was one hundred percent set that Bosa should have
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: gone over Goff and Wentz, and five years later I
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: feel vindicated. I also believe Trubisky was a mistake for
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: Chicago in the moment, and counterpoint, who did you get
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: completely wrong? I thought Mariota would be great, similar to
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: how we see mahomes now. While the one I got
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: wrong famously was Kevin O'Connell, the new head coach of
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: the Minnesota Vikings. I was so excited. I was never
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: more excited for a draft pick than Kevin O'Connor. I
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: thought I thought he was the heir apparent to Brady.
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: I loved his San Diego State tape cut of his jib.
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: He looked he looked like he looked like a more
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: athletic version of Josh Allen, like a guy who could
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: throw accurately, he could run. He was like, he just
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: looked like he looked like everything opposite of Brady, like
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: just in terms of physical ability. And I was like, boy,
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: this this kid is awesome. He's gonna be great. And
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: the next he was gone, Yeah, I'm going to follow
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: the instructions of the email and I'm gonna go to
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: someone else's draft pick and say, Vernon Goldstein was a
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: guy that I thought was going to be a star. Yeah,
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: and he was terrible, Yeah, terrible. I didn't like the
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: Dobson or Harry. I didn't. I didn't see it. Patriots
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: didn't see I know. I don't attention to the other teams. Um,
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: I gotta do that. I don't. I don't. I don't
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: really project, So you can't be on my outside of
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: the Patriots podcast, might around the NFL podcast now that
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: Fred's given me more money for definitely not definitely not oh,
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: but I will say I got ahead. No, no, no, no,
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: no Patriots. It's a Patriots. No. Who wasn't um the
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: receiver from Michigan in two thousand and one, David Tulle,
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: David Trull. I wanted David Terrell A lot of people.
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: I did too, and they took Richard Seymour and I
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: was devastating. Never did anything, He never did anything, So
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: I was even came back here and did nothing right.
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: I did a mock in twenty eleven, mocked draft that
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: I had Solder and Rossid Dowling. So I don't know
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: if I should be proud of those or not, but
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: but I did nail those. And one of my soldier
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: was good. Soldier was a pretty a pretty common prediction
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: that year, and I think I famously said and in
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: the podcast about tackles Solder not sold it was the
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: Andy line. Um, I was right, but one of the
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: night one that I liked though that a lot of
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: people were because of his height. Was Russell Wilson, Oh yeah, yeah,
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: I really liked Russell Wilson. I'm trying to think of
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: someone I really was high on and got. I mean
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: there's there's been examples of guys that I really liked
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: and thought they would really like. Clyde Edwards Hilaire was
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: a guy I was like, a team like Kansas City
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: gets him and he's going to be a valuable player,
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: guess what you know? And that kind of happened exactly.
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: But I can't think of a guy like he's talking
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: about Nick Bosa, like I can't think off the top
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: of my head. I mean I think everybody thought Nick
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: Bosa was great coming justin Jefferson, this one for you. Yeah,
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: there you go, hmm, yeah, remember no, I'll tell you
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: Like I was more wrong on free agents, like I
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: remember they brought over that offensive lineman for from the Raiders,
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: Robert Gallery. Yeah, and I thought, oh, he's gonna be good,
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: and he was just off. It was terrible. I don't
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: think he lasted. You know who really thought he was
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: going to be great? Bill Bill? Yeah, remember that year
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: in the draft when we talked about. He was like, honey, yeah,
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: you tackle. I mean we're not in a position to
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: draft him obviously, but you get tackles like that. It's
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: a generational player, right, he was gushing, just he just
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: couldn't play. And I think that's at the stage for
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: the expectations that because I remember similar feeling, you know
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: that the long hair. He looked kind of like he's
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: just a big guy and like Waller, you know. And
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: he got here and I don't even think he lasted
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: training camp. No, the Belichick has done that. I would say,
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: no fewer than a dozen times. He's taken former first
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: round picks that didn't work out, try to rehab them
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: and said this talent there, I'm going to see if
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: I have anything. And most of them haven't worked out. Yeah,
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: And I don't mind that, No, No, I don't mind Yea.
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: That goes back to the point about the quarterbacks, where
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: I feel like, you know, John Lynch at the we'll
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: bring him in for training camp, Tory Hole, I will
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: bring him in for like that. He's always just got
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: a little bit of interest. I think he's you know,
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: gay historian a little bit too. But those are more
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: those are great players at the end they got Adrian
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: Wilson was another guy like that, but like specifically they
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: traded Bethel Johnson for Jonathan Sullivan. No I'm talking about
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: I was. I'm not talking about like for like just
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: guys that never like Tory Holt had a great career,
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: Reggie Wayne had a great career. Jonathan Sullivan was a
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: colossal bust, right yeah, and he brings he brings him
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: in season anything there. And you know, Robert Gallery was
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: another one. David Terrell was another one. You know, like
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: he he will give shots to guys because there was
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: something that there was an inherent talent that was there
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: to allow them to be From Reggie Wayne, he was
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: here for you know, a cup of coffee. Did you say,
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: Reggie we just had that conversation, said he had a
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: great career. That wouldn't be what we're talking about right now.
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: Tory Holt, Reggie Wayne, those guys were great. Johnny gall
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: great career. Yeah right, but you know at the end
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: of the line, he sees if he can squeeze anything
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: else out of yeah, you know, but like I'm talking
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: about bust first round picks never did anything in the league.
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: I see, like Robert Gallery. Yeah, I'm gonna take a
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: shot see if there's anything, if I can get any right, yeah, Um,
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: Chris with a T I A N writes in uh,
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: milk with the red cap, I mean I'm dead dead
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: and barry red cap. It's true though, it's true. It
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: is true generally milk is red. You know, for us
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: more it's true. You can't just read the label. You
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: never I think it's an industry kind of no. But
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: you never noticed that if you get no, but it's
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: never gonna be something. I don't notice that milk on
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: a Marton. How do they do that? They have the
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: cartons different colors Harton, Yeah they do. It's read the
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: simple simply simply smile different wicked smile yep, uh jacking
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: and aba uh. Taking the big picture. The answer to
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: the question why does the Patriots defense stink is that
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: the Patriots don't have any elite playmakers. That means the
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: Patriots don't have a single defensive player that keeps opposing
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: coaches awake at night fretting about how to beat him.
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: The Patriots don't have a single defensive player who scares
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: the opposition. They don't have a single player who is unblockable, unstoppable,
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: or so supremely athletic that nobody can beat him one
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: on one. The Patriots desperately need a couple of those players.
- 1:39:45Speaker 1: Hopefully the Patriots will playmakers carless position. Yeah, I need
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: a couple of them. A lot of those guys out
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: there you're talking about Aaron Donald. I was just gonna ask,
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: you know, can you give me examples of guys that
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: would fill that definite? I think he's talking about Bosa,
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: the young Watt now not JJ. Yeah, I think he
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: falls into that now. I would say Donald does, Yeah,
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: Donald does. What would you say about the height of
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: the Patriots defense? Though? I was going to ask you
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: what you think of Chandler Jones? Yeah, like right now?
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: Or as it when he was like when he was
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: in Arizona. Yeah, I mean he's was he unblockable? You
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: had him? Yeah? He did. He seem like he was unblockable.
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: So I think it's like more about what they do, yes,
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: than it is about like I mean, I think Chandler
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: Jones is a supremely gifted athlete yep. And I think
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: he was a good player for you who turned into
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: a great pass rusher for them because he was used
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: in a different way. All right, here's the game from Cody, Indiana.
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: It's a who am I game? It was the most
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: Is this the one where you get like if you
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: say rules? Is always three clues per player, one guest
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: per set, so you can guess at any time. But
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: one guest then you're out. Yeah, you're out. First one.
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: I'm a former state champion at put okay. I ate
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: a turkey leg with Tom Brady. That's right, Vince Wolford champion.
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: Really imagine that's spinning around him doing the spin. This
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: one might be a little easy. I don't know. Doctor
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: Leonard helped me hold onto my locks. No, you're out.
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: Wes west Weckler is right. Next one. My first job
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: was a ball boy for Tera Hout North Vigo High School.
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: Moving on, I tried to transition to another position, but
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: never caught on Vinyl one. I ran for a record
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: breaking eighty six yard touchdown in my first preseason game. Oh,
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: come on, remand Danny Ytling, I can't hear you behind
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: the glass over there. He's trying to give me the answer.
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: I had no idea that you can figure out. I
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: think you could have given about four more hints, and
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: I wouldn't have Indiana two more the Patriots. The Patriots
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: backed up the Brinks truck to sign me. Final one,
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: final one. Outside of football, I am also an author
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: Martellis Bennett. Nope, home out. I cared deeply about my
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: charitable foundation. Could be right? Yeah what Eric, who doesn't know?
- 1:42:35Speaker 1: Yeah never mind? Why never mind? Eric and I have
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: a slutty cat and I like to eat sawdust. Eric
- 1:42:44Speaker 1: skello slutty cat. Good Cody Good? Screw you, Cody. I
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: didn't know about your cat. Yeah, real slut. No, he
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: doesn't let the cat in. I mean that's the problem.
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: It's not really his cat. Letter, but it's not your cat. Well,
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: she's just stray. I just take care of her. But
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: why don't you just take her in? I do let
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: her in. I mean make her your cat, make her
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: your cat. I don't mean just like Cody, if you
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: were here, I would beat the crap on it. You
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: know this great game Cody good job like he's trying
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: to play you know, yeah, you know, yeah, either board
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: games with him. I mean, make you shut up, to
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: make the cat yours. Give the cat a home. She
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: has a home. She got chewed up ears. Well, then
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: she's not a stray. You called her a stray. She
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: was a stray, and now she lives in my house.
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: She lives in your house now, Yeah, And she's an
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: outdoor cat. So when she wants to go out, I
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: let her out. When she wants to come in when
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: she sleeps at your house. Yes, okay, so you did
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: take her in, yes, years ago? Fred, Okay, that's not
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: the cares. Yeah, you got her the shot. What's the
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: cat's name that's not going to You don't have a name.
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: You didn't take her. I did have it. You don't
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: have a name. I have a name. I've told you before.
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: And you all like Meg, what is it? No, Mozart,
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: which moment of you did? Which? Which movement of I
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: hate you all? How old is it now? How can you? Well?
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: Can at least at least eight years old, because that's
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: when she first started coming around like a calico or No,
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: she's mostly gray with a few spots of white. Yeah, nice, beautiful. Yeah,
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: she's a beautiful cat. Is she friendly? Yes? Well, it
- 1:44:32Speaker 1: took her like seven years to get used to my
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: parents coming around. And she hates people. She runs away
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: from people. She runs away from other cats after her master. Yeah,
- 1:44:40Speaker 1: pretty much, she found the home. She's like, like, I
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: like that guy. He doesn't like anybody, does she pur yes?
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: Yeahs a happy cat. She's a very happy cat. Two
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: cats in my life. One hated people and didn't like
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: that one, But then second one was like a dog,
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: just cute. I want to play with you, to sit
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: on you, big fat cat she is. She is like
- 1:45:02Speaker 1: that once she gets to know you, like she lets
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: my parents pet her and now. But it took a
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: long time for her to trust it because she came
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: from the wild where you know, yeah, you can't trust
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: anybody out up on the streets. She did. She was
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: born on the street. Yeah, she was really small when
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: she should what she had to do to survive street
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: cat Yeah. Yeah, you need somewhere to stay m what
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: do you need? Yeah, she'll do it. Yep. Okay, Um,
- 1:45:28Speaker 1: she sounds like a game. But what are you talking
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: about it? Claire and West Midland's UK. Okay, so not
- 1:45:34Speaker 1: a game, but a fun offseason topic maybe on the
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: on the cuff of that Brady movie topic. Say they
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: make your movie, paul Um, each of you individually, what's
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: the theme song for theme song? For each ps. That
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: Peyton movie was decent, a nice chilled watch. I thought
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: the Kevin James, Oh yeah, as Sean Payton's the theme music,
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: it has to be an original sty I would have
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: an original square done right. Yeah, So I don't know,
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: just one disco banger after they, I mean I'd sign
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: up for that. Staying Alive might be Paul's uh yeah,
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: you know, walking down the street. I can picture the
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: opening shot right now. It's Paul walking down the street
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: down at them and carrying two gallons of pain. Comes
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: up nineteen eighty two, pause, right, and it's still It's
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: like a still shot. Hey, Paul, he got up here
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: summer bell bottom and the high heeled shoes, got the
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: Harold under his arm, and he ducks into a men's room.
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: He's got the long hair, the long hair over his ears,
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: Harold under his arm, and he tucks into the men's room. Perfect.
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: He just described my whole career a terrain paints. Uh
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: Cole writes in would you rather go seven and ten
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: or eight nine, knowing you're getting three key contributors to
- 1:46:51Speaker 1: the team through the draft, or try to win the
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: Super Bowl next year like Belichick is planning on doing
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: so he or he already know, Coal already knows seven
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: or so you get you go seven, you're so you're
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: out of the playoffs, but you know you've got three
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: guys that you're gonna get through the draft that you're
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: gonna be with you for a while, or or what's
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: the other option? Evidently that precludes you from getting three guys. Yeah,
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: I guess I guess he should follow that up with, say,
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: and you got no one in the draft to help
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: you in the future. So, you know, as you know,
- 1:47:23Speaker 1: I like to, you know, talking about with Belichick, and
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: you know, sometimes I'm like a little like, I don't
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: understand why he doesn't play young guys, and I'll criticize
- 1:47:32Speaker 1: you know. So now we're criticizing Belichick for having the
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: audacity to try to win, right Like, this is the
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: thing that we're criticizing the coach about. Shouldn't that be
- 1:47:41Speaker 1: the goal? Yeah? I think so. Now, if you're gonna say,
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: would you rather go seven and ten or ten and
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: seven and get knocked out in the first round, I
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: think you know, you could have an argument there. You
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: could have a discussion if you know you're gonna get
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: knocked out. Yeah, but I just how many times. I mean,
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: we feel great about these three that they got last year,
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: but like how much do you think, like, yeah, they're good.
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: But that's why the hypotheimis don't work. Right, There's no way,
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: there's no assurance that that they're going to be those guys.
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: I mean, it was the inherent flaw with the Ultimate Debate,
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: the Great Debate with Garoppolo, right, Fred Right when we
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: used to talk about Garoppolo and Brady and Andy used
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: to always say, like cool, you know you always you
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: always know you're in, But like just because you moved
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: on from Brady doesn't mean that you will not be
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: right right in contention, you know, in any other year.
- 1:48:31Speaker 1: Like it just was flawed. Mike right here in um
- 1:48:35Speaker 1: he's in the White Mountains right now in New Hampshire
- 1:48:38Speaker 1: he was from. He's got a San Diego story. San
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: Diego mentioned daily on this New England Patrios podcast, So
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: I thought i'd share my San Diego story. I lived
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: there for twelve years from O eight to twenty after
- 1:48:51Speaker 1: growing up in Maryland. I at first I thought it
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: was heaven, but after years there, I grew grew to
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: really get sick of the heat, sun, traffic, and just
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: lack of seasons. It's always dry, dusty, brown, and the
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: sun just beats down on you. We were lucky enough
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: to even have a house we bought at the bottom
- 1:49:09Speaker 1: of a housing crash, but I had to get out,
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: so in late twenty twenty we moved to northern New Hampshire,
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: where it is about fifteen degrees colder than Boston, and
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: we love it. Our town has five hundred people and
- 1:49:21Speaker 1: the big city nearby has five thousand. My three year
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: old daughter already knows how to ski. I love the seasons.
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: Couldn't be happier. I had wanted to live in New
- 1:49:29Speaker 1: England for years. It's my favorite part of the country
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: with all the history and it's a beautiful place. We
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: visit all the small historical towns in the area and
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: I love it. I work at a small hospital and
- 1:49:40Speaker 1: love the slower pace. Well all right, I hear all that.
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: I hear a lot of the This is actually Chase Winovitch, right,
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: He just like can pop up the second you I think. Overall,
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: though New England is the best place in the country,
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: I do like the seasons. I wish that we had
- 1:49:58Speaker 1: a little bit more summer and a little bit less winter.
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: But yeah, you know, there's no place that's perfect. I
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: wish we had the winter earlier in the winter. You're like,
- 1:50:06Speaker 1: You're like, I wish we had the snow March and
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: April winter is like, right, I wish we had the
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: more like November December snowstorms as opposed to like the
- 1:50:14Speaker 1: February March kind of time frame. And why is that? Yeah,
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: that day season you want them around the hollar just
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: cold November, December, January, February and then March it starts
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: getting warm right right at the beginning, right, I'm with you, Right,
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: it was when when we were kids, but yeah, that
- 1:50:28Speaker 1: when we grew up, you know, because of global warming.
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: Um right. I hear the thing though about the seasons,
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: and that was something I might have talked about before.
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: But like, it's weird because I think you don't realize
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: growing up here, you associate so much of your memory
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: with like what the weather was, like what season it was,
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: and it's easily memorable because you know, maybe you were
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: cold or you were hot out there. It all just
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: blends together and you don't and and there are seasons
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: like when I first moved out there. I didn't really realize.
- 1:50:51Speaker 1: That's subtle, but you just don't realize the fire season.
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: There's like a week in February rains, and that was winter.
- 1:50:59Speaker 1: That was winter. And then I was a week we
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: were out in San Diego. Remember it rained Every last
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: time I was in San Diego. It was flat out
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: cold and that that's stunk. Yeah. It is funny though.
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: I remember when he went to Arizona and it was
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: freezing and raining Super Bowl, Super Bowl. Yeah. They got
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: off the plane. They had torrential rained like two inches
- 1:51:17Speaker 1: and it was like forty degrees. They're like, we haven't
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: had rain like this in decades. Two yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: we got off the plane. It was torrential rain. Yep.
- 1:51:27Speaker 1: I don't remember that. You don't remember, huh remember? And
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: it was cold. It was cold all week. It was
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: like in the in the fifties and sixties all week,
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: and we were thinking like, great, we're going to Arizona.
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: It's gonna be warm and nah nah yeah now yeah,
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: Ben writes in in regards to the question about other
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: teams draft picks, I vividly recall Andy dumping all over Mahomes.
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: He kept calling him a soccer player. Y Andy did
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: not like Mahomes coming out, that's true. And he loved
- 1:51:54Speaker 1: Richard Mendenhall. Remember that they also he also loved Robert Quinn,
- 1:51:59Speaker 1: who turned out good play. Yeah took a little bit
- 1:52:02Speaker 1: because remember left phone was named Quinn, right uh. Neil
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: writes in um and he says, please read I just
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: got engaged on Sunday to my beautiful fiance Katie loved
- 1:52:16Speaker 1: the great world. Well, congratulations. He sends a picture of
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: himself in Katie, that's a nice little rock that you
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: got her. Good for you, Neil, would you nice? Oh?
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: Paul smash uh and and Brad and Fresno job game
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: the gift that keeps on giving. He says, Andy and
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: Fred are both right. I just did a little googling
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: and that both you and Andy might be both right
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: about tides and rivers. Check out the definitions of tidal
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: rivers there an estuary. I enjoyed the arguments, but once
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: I saw this, I had to let you know. It's
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: too fun. Some rivers are funny. What were the sides
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: in that argument? I know the argument? And he said,
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: they all have tides, but more right? Well that oh yeah,
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: he was like he went nuclear right away, he did
- 1:53:14Speaker 1: right away, And it wasn't because he lives because he
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: lives by the oceans, so all of obviously those tidal
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: rivers or you know, by the ocean's tide. Yeah, but
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: that's what I'm talking about. Like, you know, we had
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: the audacity to speak up. At one point he called
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: us effing morons. We were like, oh, and he didn't
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: say effing I did. He said, did you hear how
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: that that email had just went on? And said, you
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: know you both right? So I did a google, Like
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: I had no idea what they were even talking about,
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: Like I never really thought about it in those terms.
- 1:53:48Speaker 1: So I did a Google and I found one that
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: said exactly word for word what Fred said. And then
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: I clicked on the next link and it was exactly
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: word for word with Andy said. So it's like the
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: perfect storm. So I read it and he's so mad.
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: I'd read the first one, backing up Fred and he
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: called me an ff and moron. Right. I read the
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: second one he's and he was all mad, No, see
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: yeah right, and then me and Mary just got up
- 1:54:10Speaker 1: made a player. About five minutes later. It was it
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: was knockdown, drag out. Yeah, he in the middle of
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: the club, by the middle of the club, by the way, um,
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: by the little uh was coming to the end of
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: the show. So we'll do a little operational Okay. For
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: the draft, they are gonna they're back to having the
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: draft party in the club with people this year. Oh
- 1:54:34Speaker 1: so we're guaranteed to trade down and out right, So
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: we're gonna be there. We're gonna be in the club
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: like we were for that argument. Okay, right, and I
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: think we're gonna have to start the show at seven thirty,
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: so the first half hour of the show will be
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: like we'll be doing our thing, and then we're gonna
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: cut to like some live stuff with interviews with Matt
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: grow or whoever um from Patriot Play for that first
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: half hour, and then once the draft starts, it'll just
- 1:55:03Speaker 1: be all us. So we're gonna blend some things in
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: what would be the possibilities of me not being here
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: for day two of the draft A none. Okay, Yeah,
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: we need you, Paul, I believe me. I know, um so,
- 1:55:19Speaker 1: but not necessarily for the drafts us research and idea. Yeah,
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: but we're already we're looking at the draft already, you know,
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: in terms of shows and all that. So we'll be back. Yeah,
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: and I'll be at the combine next week, so we'll
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: maybe I'll check in. I don't know, maybe Tuesday. Do
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: I get to do Oh? Yeahs if you have time
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: to give us. I mean, I'll have just five or
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: ten minutes. I mean, it won't be vital like it
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: normally is when you and I are both there, because
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: God only knows what's going on without us. Um, but
- 1:55:46Speaker 1: it'd be great if you could give us a little flavor. Yeah,
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: I can do uh, I can do both days. I
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: could do both great. Yeah, yeah, callin, callin. You'll be like,
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: who is this? Yeh, let us know how Saint Almost
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: was And I know, well that's having some problem to
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: talk about that you need you need help with that. Well,
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: we got a reservation, but it's nine fifteen and nine.
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. I take down. You
- 1:56:08Speaker 1: can't go to get home at midnight, you know what though,
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: I mean if you don't get a steak, it's not
- 1:56:14Speaker 1: the end of the world. But get the shrimp and
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: get the Navy being soup, and then you get the
- 1:56:18Speaker 1: flavor of saying almost you know, that's what I think
- 1:56:21Speaker 1: I might might do, because that's a reason for you
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: not to go. No. But I'm just saying to end No,
- 1:56:26Speaker 1: I'm just saying, like, if it's too late for a steak,
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: is still go. It's because it's a it's a night.
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: It takes a long time. Oh yeah, they give you
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: the whole. They put your napkin on for it. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 1:56:36Speaker 1: they know the sweep up. The waiters, they are very professional. Yes,
- 1:56:39Speaker 1: they are as professional as you will find there. You
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: can always go down the street to the other place too, right,
- 1:56:45Speaker 1: that'll be same food by myself, Harry, and he's there.
- 1:56:47Speaker 1: You go. You knew I wasn't going to have the
- 1:56:49Speaker 1: name Ausnariots. All right, that's gonna be in for this
