- 0:05Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the right time. A wave original.
- 0:09Speaker 1: My name is Beaumont Jones. Thanks for listening wherever you
- 0:11Speaker 1: get your podcast. Thanks for watching us on YouTube. Subscribe, like,
- 0:15Speaker 1: rate us, review us, give us five stars. You only
- 0:18Speaker 1: give us four stars. I'm inclined to believe you are
- 0:21Speaker 1: a hater. We have got the Monday night football game
- 0:23Speaker 1: Packers Eagles to talk about. We also have these boys
- 0:28Speaker 1: in this gambling, but we got this thing right here.
- 0:31Speaker 1: I gotta be honest with you. I don't think anybody
- 0:33Speaker 1: is surprised that Brian Daybold got fired by the Giants,
- 0:36Speaker 1: though I admit I wasn't expecting him to get fired
- 0:41Speaker 1: after this game. Like, you lost to the Bears, the
- 0:43Speaker 1: Bears aren't bad, and your quarterback got hurt.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Oh, oh, oh.
- 0:49Speaker 1: That's why you got fired, because the quarterback got hurt. Now,
- 0:52Speaker 1: we did our show on Monday and made the point
- 0:56Speaker 1: that Brian Daybold firmly believes that he has found a
- 1:00Speaker 1: market inefficiency, right? Which is, it takes years before people
- 1:04Speaker 1: realize that you're going to run the ball with that
- 1:06Speaker 1: white boy. No matter who that white boy happens to be,
- 1:08Speaker 1: it takes them so long before they realize that's going
- 1:10Speaker 1: to happen, so you might as well do it forever
- 1:12Speaker 1: and ever and ever. But we got this from Mina Kimes,
- 1:16Speaker 1: Brian Daybold. Since Jackson Dart became a starter, he leads
- 1:21Speaker 1: the league in quarterback runs, is second in contact, and
- 1:25Speaker 1: has been tested for four concussions. Leads the league.
- 1:30Speaker 3: And he's played about six, I think six games.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Yes. Ryan, it's the new day and age. It's 2025
- 1:37Speaker 1: with quarterbacks. They don't got him running like a black,
- 1:43Speaker 1: like so... When Josh Allen, when Dave O had Josh Allen,
- 1:47Speaker 1: or before Dave O even got there, I think, I
- 1:48Speaker 1: made the point about Josh Allen that if Josh Allen's
- 1:50Speaker 1: name was Jaheim, they'd have been running a completely different
- 1:53Speaker 1: offense for him. And if he had been running some
- 1:55Speaker 1: Jaheim plays, everything would be okay. And then Brian Dave
- 1:58Speaker 1: O got there and started running Jaheim plays for Josh Allen.
- 2:02Speaker 3: The big galoot special. That's right.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Look what he's become. He's a big ass rolling, rolling
- 2:07Speaker 1: ball a bunch of knives, right? Like he became that guy. That's,
- 2:11Speaker 1: this is what he does. Brian Daybold got Jackson Dart
- 2:16Speaker 1: and was like, nah, that's Jay Money. And got him
- 2:19Speaker 1: running more than all the, he got him running more
- 2:22Speaker 1: than all the dudes. Now look, Lamar Jackson hasn't been playing.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Kyler Murray hasn't been playing.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Jay Daniels hasn't been playing.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Yeah, he doesn't have the same competition. I understand it.
- 2:31Speaker 1: But at the same time, that is crazy. Four concussions. Four, four.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Now here's what Brian Daybold was doing, and this is
- 2:38Speaker 1: why they had to fire him. And I want to
- 2:39Speaker 1: see you, and you tell me if I'm tripping here, okay?
- 2:43Speaker 1: The reason you got to fire these coaches if you're
- 2:45Speaker 1: going to make the quarterback transition, which is what they
- 2:48Speaker 1: did here, is that you make the transition with the quarterback.
- 2:52Speaker 1: You keep the old coach nine times out of 10.
- 2:55Speaker 1: The old coach knows his job is on the line. Right.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Like there is an understanding there, especially if the guy's
- 3:01Speaker 1: been there for a while. OK, you get this going
- 3:05Speaker 1: or you got to go. All right, that's what Brian
- 3:08Speaker 1: Daybold knows. But Brian Daybold knows that getting going means
- 3:11Speaker 1: winning games.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Right.
- 3:13Speaker 1: That's how you keep your job. But it's not really
- 3:17Speaker 1: your job because you're trying to save it. Right. You
- 3:20Speaker 1: already lost. When you have to do something to save
- 3:22Speaker 1: your job, you have lost your job. And now you
- 3:25Speaker 1: are trying to get your job back. So you have
- 3:28Speaker 1: a job that is not actually your job. What I
- 3:31Speaker 1: am saying is Brian Daybold has been treating the New
- 3:34Speaker 1: York Giants and Jackson Dart like a rental car. Right. Right.
- 3:38Speaker 3: I guess.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I got to hurry up and get there. Take
- 3:41Speaker 1: that bitch over the curb. You know what I'm saying? Like,
- 3:44Speaker 1: like he's bumped into so many different things. Why? Because
- 3:46Speaker 1: we run in late. That's why. And it ain't my car.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Right.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I mean, if they say I can keep it. I will,
- 3:55Speaker 1: but this isn't actually my car. And the Giants were like, hey,
- 3:58Speaker 1: wait a minute. Why are we letting this motherfucker drive
- 4:00Speaker 1: our car?
- 4:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:02Speaker 1: That's my car. And look what he's doing to my car.
- 4:06Speaker 1: They have come, they have found their car, and it
- 4:08Speaker 1: is dented all over the place. And they're like, hey, hey, hey,
- 4:12Speaker 1: you got to bring that car back. They called the
- 4:14Speaker 1: repo man on that car. Bring that shit back. It's
- 4:17Speaker 1: a lease, right? Right. He has no actual sense of
- 4:21Speaker 1: ownership whatsoever. in that car. If he had bought the car,
- 4:24Speaker 1: that'd be one thing. Nope. He leased it and he
- 4:26Speaker 1: treated it like that. And they say, Hey man, go get,
- 4:29Speaker 1: go bring our shit back. Go, go, go, go get
- 4:31Speaker 1: it and go bring it back. And now Brian Dayball
- 4:35Speaker 1: doesn't have a job.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Right now.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Could you please make the point that you made to
- 4:40Speaker 1: be coming in here about how Brian Dayball got here
- 4:43Speaker 1: and what he turned into?
- 4:44Speaker 3: So I'm going to read the couple paragraphs from the
- 4:46Speaker 3: ESPN story, you know, kind of down towards the bottom. Uh,
- 4:51Speaker 3: The hot-headed coach had a rocky four years with the
- 4:54Speaker 3: Giants filled with incidents that included an ugly split with
- 4:56Speaker 3: defensive coordinator Week Markendale after the 2023 season and a
- 4:59Speaker 3: $ 100, 000 fine earlier in the year for approaching the blue
- 5:02Speaker 3: medical tent while Dart was being examined for concussion. Joe Shane,
- 5:06Speaker 3: at one point along the way, had to monitor the
- 5:08Speaker 3: coaching headsets to evaluate the coach's communication. Dable also flipped
- 5:13Speaker 3: a tablet at former quarterback Daniel Jones and replaced a
- 5:15Speaker 3: good chunk of his staff over the past years. Translation...
- 5:20Speaker 3: he was too much of an asshole for a tackle
- 5:22Speaker 3: football coach.
- 5:23Speaker 1: This is correct. Now, I just Googled something, and it
- 5:27Speaker 1: said that Brian Daybold is six feet tall, and I
- 5:31Speaker 1: don't believe it.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he's 5'10 1⁄2.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I need to see him lined up against some people,
- 5:39Speaker 1: because this is all, and you've seen some of those
- 5:41Speaker 1: clips of like watching during a game where he points
- 5:43Speaker 1: on something at the table, and he just talks to
- 5:45Speaker 1: people like they're morons.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Right.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Just flat out, and it's kind of like, Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Yeah,
- 5:52Speaker 1: but you're right. The GM of a tackle football team
- 5:55Speaker 1: was like, hey, I got to keep an eye on
- 5:57Speaker 1: what this guy.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Is up to. You need to watch your language.
- 6:00Speaker 1: He is burning people out and hold on. His record
- 6:04Speaker 1: as a head coach is 20, 40, and one. And
- 6:10Speaker 1: this is the way that he's out here talking to people.
- 6:13Speaker 1: He got the big loot on track and he parlayed
- 6:17Speaker 1: that into, hold on, let me make sure I get
- 6:19Speaker 1: this number right. Oh, wow. It felt like he'd been
- 6:21Speaker 1: there longer than this. This is only year four. Right.
- 6:24Speaker 1: This is only year four, but they were just like,
- 6:27Speaker 1: he's going to kill.
- 6:28Speaker 3: In the last three seasons, I think he was 11
- 6:30Speaker 3: and 33.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Yes. They said he's going to kill Jackson Darby.
- 6:34Speaker 4: Right.
- 6:35Speaker 1: And by the way, it helps nothing that Daniel Jones
- 6:38Speaker 1: has been on fire or at the very least is
- 6:42Speaker 1: quarterbacking a team that's going to make the playoffs.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, they might be the one seed.
- 6:47Speaker 1: It's really on the board. And now the Giants, who...
- 6:51Speaker 1: Second-generation ownership, man. People don't think about this. Wellington Mara died,
- 6:56Speaker 1: and then this John Mara guy has got the team,
- 6:58Speaker 1: and he doesn't seem to be good at this at all.
- 7:01Speaker 3: No.
- 7:02Speaker 1: He doesn't. And this is across the board, man. The
- 7:04Speaker 1: only team I can think of that gets better when
- 7:06Speaker 1: the second generation gets the team was actually the Steelers,
- 7:09Speaker 1: but that's because Generation 1 Rooney was just a little
- 7:13Speaker 1: bit too busy breaking the law. You can look it up.
- 7:16Speaker 1: I'm not making this up. He was, I think, the
- 7:18Speaker 1: word racketeer. is what was going on there. The second-generation
- 7:22Speaker 1: guy was like, hey, I think I'll pay attention to football,
- 7:25Speaker 1: and then there were some steroids. But anyway, this is
- 7:29Speaker 1: where the Giants, like, you and I were just talking
- 7:32Speaker 1: about this, Ryan. They're the Jets.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Right, and they've been the Jets for 10 years.
- 7:36Speaker 1: All right, so let's think about this. The last time
- 7:38Speaker 1: the Jets went to the playoffs is 2010. The Giants
- 7:41Speaker 1: have been to the playoffs a couple times since then,
- 7:43Speaker 1: but they won that Super Bowl in 2011, and then
- 7:45Speaker 1: it's really, I think, been to the playoffs forever. Two
- 7:47Speaker 1: years since then.
- 7:49Speaker 3: I think they had one playoff. Daniel Jones had one
- 7:52Speaker 3: playoff win.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Yes, the game in Minnesota, and then they had the boat.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Remember when O'Dell and the boys was on the boat?
- 7:58Speaker 3: I remember the boat.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Right, with Trey Songz, and they was wearing no shirts
- 8:02Speaker 1: and wearing jeans on a goddamn boat.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Like, that's it. That's what it's been. I've been here
- 8:07Speaker 1: eight years, man. Eight years. There's been, I think, one
- 8:12Speaker 1: good football team in the eight years that I have
- 8:16Speaker 1: lived in this city.
- 8:18Speaker 3: And that team was quarterbacked by Daniel Jones.
- 8:20Speaker 1: It was quarterbacked by Daniel Jones. So how good was
- 8:23Speaker 1: the team, actually? Because they beat a team that was
- 8:25Speaker 1: quarterbacked by Kirk Cousins. By the way, are we... They
- 8:28Speaker 1: are really... There's no way he's six feet tall, is there?
- 8:31Speaker 3: There's no way.
- 8:33Speaker 1: No, and I bet, like, when he really gets mad
- 8:35Speaker 1: and nobody's around, I bet that shit is hilarious. Like,
- 8:39Speaker 1: you know, his face get all red.
- 8:40Speaker 3: He's one of those white people that can turn all
- 8:42Speaker 3: those different colors.
- 8:42Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying, and it goes all the way
- 8:44Speaker 1: to the top. Right. You know? And, I mean....
- 8:49Speaker 3: Yeah, dog.
- 8:50Speaker 1: I just did. I just love that the Giants woke
- 8:54Speaker 1: up and was like, yo, we got to get him
- 8:55Speaker 1: out of here before he messes something up.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, and there's nothing like, you know, messing
- 9:01Speaker 3: up the quarterback, not winning games and being mean to
- 9:04Speaker 3: everybody at work to really be the trifecta of trying
- 9:07Speaker 3: to keep your job.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Yes. Yes. No, but I think everybody needs to learn
- 9:11Speaker 1: that lesson. Like this Iberflues with the Bears last year
- 9:16Speaker 1: is another sort of situation. This is going to happen
- 9:19Speaker 1: if you turn it over. And then once you turn
- 9:21Speaker 1: it over, what's going to wind up happening? Now you
- 9:23Speaker 1: wound up stacking up on that list of this quarterback
- 9:25Speaker 1: has had this many offensive coordinators in this many years, right?
- 9:29Speaker 1: Like all those things are going to start stacking up. No, no, no.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Chances are I guess what you're making, you know what
- 9:35Speaker 1: it comes down to? This is where people get themselves
- 9:38Speaker 1: in trouble, okay? This is what it comes down to.
- 9:41Speaker 1: They're getting caught in this idea about whether or not
- 9:43Speaker 1: somebody deserves to have their job or not. Now, you
- 9:46Speaker 1: can make the argument that the Giants left Brian Daybo
- 9:50Speaker 1: with Daniel Jones, right? Okay? Daniel Jones got hurt or whatever,
- 9:55Speaker 1: and it would be unfair to fire Brian Daybol under
- 9:59Speaker 1: those circumstances because he didn't have his quarterback. But you
- 10:03Speaker 1: decided to go get another quarterback, a quarterback, by the way,
- 10:06Speaker 1: that other teams actually wanted and believed that there was
- 10:10Speaker 1: still something left with. But Brian Daybol, even if Daniel
- 10:13Speaker 1: Jones hadn't got hurt, you know, or he got cut,
- 10:16Speaker 1: that's right. He got hurt, then he got cut. my
- 10:19Speaker 1: fault because they stopped playing him because they did not
- 10:22Speaker 1: want to have to pay like the injury guarantees so
- 10:24Speaker 1: you're taking a guy who couldn't get it done with
- 10:26Speaker 1: one guy and then you give him the chance to
- 10:29Speaker 1: do it with another guy and then you realize you
- 10:32Speaker 1: can't do that because he's treating him like a rental
- 10:34Speaker 1: car nah man unless there's something incredibly unique going on
- 10:38Speaker 1: with the circumstances in the situation chances are if you
- 10:42Speaker 1: got to go get the new quarterback you're going to
- 10:45Speaker 1: need to get the new coach. Now, hey, maybe it's
- 10:46Speaker 1: Don Shula drafting Dan Marino, right? Right, right. You could
- 10:50Speaker 1: wind up in that situation or the reasonable transfer of
- 10:52Speaker 1: power that often happens with quarterbacks. But on this, you
- 10:56Speaker 1: knew there was a very good chance you were going
- 10:58Speaker 1: to fire him. Fuck deserve, fire him.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Can I go through the Giants head coaches since Tom Coughlin?
- 11:04Speaker 1: Hold on. Can I? I'm going to try.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Let me roll with you. Ben McAdoo.
- 11:09Speaker 3: 28 games, 13 and 15.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Pat Shermer.
- 11:10Speaker 3: 32 games, nine and 23.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Do we now go straight to Brian Dayball or is
- 11:18Speaker 1: there one in between?
- 11:19Speaker 3: Joe Judge.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Oh, wow. I forgot that happened.
- 11:23Speaker 2: 10 and 23.
- 11:24Speaker 1: And then we get to Brian Dayball.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Then we get to Dayball.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Remember that time that Brian Dayball got the interview with,
- 11:37Speaker 1: I think it was the Giants and Bill Belichick sent
- 11:40Speaker 1: a text to Brian saying, About Brian Dayball getting that
- 11:43Speaker 1: job with the New York Giants.
- 11:44Speaker 3: It was the wrong Brian.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Except he said it to Brian Flores. And Brian Flores said, Coach,
- 11:48Speaker 1: did you mean to say that to Brian Dayball or
- 11:50Speaker 1: Brian Flores? And Belichick was like, my bad.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Do you want to do Jets coaches since you've lived here?
- 11:57Speaker 1: Since I've lived here. Okay. Todd Bowles was gone. No,
- 12:01Speaker 1: 2017 Todd Bowles was here.
- 12:02Speaker 3: You had one year of Todd Bowles.
- 12:04Speaker 1: I got a year of Todd Bowles. I've got Adam Gase.
- 12:07Speaker 4: 9-23. 9-23.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Who did they just fire to give this job to
- 12:13Speaker 1: Aaron Glenn? I've forgotten who that, whoever that was.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Bob Sala, 2013.
- 12:17Speaker 1: That sure did happen. And then they fired him in
- 12:21Speaker 1: the middle of the year.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Yeah. He had the best record out of all of them.
- 12:25Speaker 5: He did.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I mean, the thing is with the Jets, we always
- 12:29Speaker 1: just say, hey, they're the Jets. We have to start
- 12:32Speaker 1: saying that about the Giants. Correct.
- 12:33Speaker 5: Correct.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Right? Like, it's amazing who we do and do not
- 12:37Speaker 1: cut slack for that, by the way. For example, before
- 12:40Speaker 1: Matthew Stafford turned into apparently the best quarterback in the
- 12:42Speaker 1: league and he had those stretches of being mid, the
- 12:46Speaker 1: way mid was intended with the Lions and everybody just
- 12:49Speaker 1: blames the Lions. Like, yeah, those terrible Lions giving them
- 12:51Speaker 1: Calvin Johnson to throw to.
- 12:53Speaker 5: Yuck.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Yuck.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Right? Like, we all, like, it's here and there where
- 12:57Speaker 1: we pick it up. But the Giants, I mean, I
- 13:00Speaker 1: tell you this, go ask a Giants fan if they'd
- 13:02Speaker 1: rather root for the Lions right now. That's what I thought.
- 13:12Speaker 1: All right, we got another gambling situation. Now, here's the
- 13:15Speaker 1: thing about this current gambling situation, and I think this
- 13:17Speaker 1: is important for me to point out because most of
- 13:20Speaker 1: us don't really pay that close attention to baseball, all right?
- 13:23Speaker 1: We had the Terry Rozier situation over there in the NBA.
- 13:26Speaker 1: We had John Tate Porter. We got Malik Beasley. All
- 13:30Speaker 1: players that you've probably heard of, though, to be perfectly honest,
- 13:34Speaker 1: You only really know about Jonte Porter because he got
- 13:36Speaker 1: caught gap. All right. Or maybe you're just a really
- 13:38Speaker 1: big Michael Porter fan. Either way it goes. That's how
- 13:42Speaker 1: you would know about who those people are. Baseball's got
- 13:45Speaker 1: a little bit of a situation because they got an
- 13:48Speaker 1: actual factual good player that is ensnared in something. And
- 13:51Speaker 1: that is Emmanuel Classe. He is a relief pitcher for
- 13:54Speaker 1: the Cleveland Guardians. And you're like, yeah, he's a relief pitcher.
- 13:58Speaker 1: He led the league in saves three straight years, and
- 14:00Speaker 1: he was third in the Cy Young voting in 2024,
- 14:03Speaker 1: and he was having a pretty good 2025 until people
- 14:06Speaker 1: found out, hey, be an investigator for some gambling shenanigans.
- 14:10Speaker 1: This is another player on the Guardians named Luis Ortiz.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Both of these cats were indicted for pitch rigging. Yes,
- 14:19Speaker 1: and you may be asking yourself, what is pitch rigging?
- 14:23Speaker 1: Which is I mean, at once, it's exactly what it
- 14:26Speaker 1: sounds like. But, Ryan, you would also have to admit,
- 14:29Speaker 1: on the other hand, it sounds like it could just
- 14:31Speaker 1: be slang for something nasty.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I'm not going to say those words together.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Yeah, pitch rigging. I need to talk a little faster.
- 14:39Speaker 1: These things happen. Like, Marcus Spears, I forget what it is. Oh,
- 14:42Speaker 1: Dominique does get up. They got a segment called, What
- 14:45Speaker 1: Did Dee Fox Say? For those of you who don't
- 14:47Speaker 1: speak antiquated internet. But anyway, it's what does D. Fox say?
- 14:51Speaker 1: And they got to cut into my man Marcus Spears
- 14:53Speaker 1: being like, I don't want to say that because I'm
- 14:56Speaker 1: country and I don't want to say the wrong thing.
- 14:59Speaker 3: That's being your own self-defensive coordinator.
- 15:01Speaker 1: That is correct. Pitch rigging had me being like, ooh,
- 15:03Speaker 1: I'm glad this is my own show. Otherwise, this could
- 15:06Speaker 1: be really dangerous. But anyway, pitch rigging is this. At
- 15:11Speaker 1: these gambling houses... you can do a prop bet on
- 15:17Speaker 1: not just whether or not a pitch is going to
- 15:20Speaker 1: be a ball or a strike, but also what the
- 15:24Speaker 1: velocity of that pitch is going to be. And I'm
- 15:27Speaker 1: assuming that you can only do this on the first
- 15:30Speaker 1: pitch because otherwise I know they work very hard to
- 15:34Speaker 1: make sure that the technology works so that everybody's on
- 15:36Speaker 1: the same time. You know what I mean? But it's
- 15:39Speaker 1: only truly sustainable. I feel like you can make this
- 15:41Speaker 1: work on the first pitch. that a pitcher throws. So yes,
- 15:44Speaker 1: just so you understand what it is, you bet on
- 15:47Speaker 1: Emmanuel Klasse whether or not his first pitch is going
- 15:49Speaker 1: to be a ball or a strike, or, and this
- 15:52Speaker 1: is what I never considered, they appear to also do
- 15:56Speaker 1: an over-under on the velocity of the pitch, okay? So
- 16:02Speaker 1: you can bet on whether or not the pitch is
- 16:04Speaker 1: going to be a ball or a strike or over under,
- 16:07Speaker 1: we'll call it 93 miles an hour on the pitch.
- 16:10Speaker 1: These are things that you can bet on. All right.
- 16:14Speaker 1: And so what the accusation is, is that Klase was
- 16:18Speaker 1: intentionally throwing balls. and then throwing, call it a slider
- 16:25Speaker 1: off the top rather than a cutter, a cutter off
- 16:27Speaker 1: the top rather than a slider, and then there were
- 16:30Speaker 1: people who were betting on this, and very important detail,
- 16:35Speaker 1: Klasse was also giving people money to bet on this
- 16:40Speaker 1: for himself, right? Then they are accusing him taking $ 5, 000
- 16:47Speaker 1: to get another one of his partners, Luis Ortiz, also
- 16:53Speaker 1: a pitcher, in on the same game. Now, I have
- 16:57Speaker 1: to be honest with you. When I first heard about
- 16:59Speaker 1: the story, all I heard about was the $ 5, 000. And
- 17:02Speaker 1: I was like, brother, you risked it all for $ 5, 000.
- 17:08Speaker 1: But he didn't risk it all for $ 5, 000. It actually
- 17:10Speaker 1: turns out he really just risked it all for like.
- 17:12Speaker 6: $ 60, 000.
- 17:15Speaker 1: There was a contract certainly coming down the pike for
- 17:18Speaker 1: this dude, probably a hundred million dollars, right? This was
- 17:23Speaker 1: where it was going for him. But then this happened. Okay.
- 17:30Speaker 1: I want to try to avoid the, wow, that's really
- 17:35Speaker 1: stupid angle on this, right? Because I think that the
- 17:39Speaker 1: stupidity is somewhat obvious. Number one, number two, um, I'll
- 17:46Speaker 1: never forget when my brother told me this when I
- 17:48Speaker 1: was younger. So like 25 years ago, he told me this,
- 17:49Speaker 1: but it was a very important point, which is some
- 17:52Speaker 1: people just really don't have good judgment. And those people
- 17:55Speaker 1: who do have good judgment or at the very least
- 17:58Speaker 1: decent judgment, we will never be able to understand people
- 18:02Speaker 1: who don't know a bad idea when it's staring them
- 18:04Speaker 1: in the face. You know what I mean? Like. Never.
- 18:09Speaker 1: We're never going to be the same people as those
- 18:11Speaker 1: people where we can look at it and be like, oh, wow,
- 18:13Speaker 1: that guy obviously could not tell not to touch that
- 18:16Speaker 1: blazing hot stove. Some people just have terrible judgment. This
- 18:20Speaker 1: is an example of terrible judgment. Or I don't know
- 18:24Speaker 1: why this cat might have needed the money. Like when
- 18:26Speaker 1: we were talking about dudes like Chauncey Billups and Terry Rozier,
- 18:29Speaker 1: these cats had hundreds of millions of dollars and earned
- 18:33Speaker 1: hundreds of millions of dollars at this point. Right. It's like,
- 18:35Speaker 1: how did you get here? Terry Rozier, clearly under a
- 18:38Speaker 1: significant amount of debt. Chauncey Billups, presumably a similar thing.
- 18:42Speaker 1: But we don't really know the answer. This cat right
- 18:44Speaker 1: here been making a couple $ 3 million a year in
- 18:47Speaker 1: baseball so far. And that isn't as much money as
- 18:53Speaker 1: it sounds like. And this is what I mean when
- 18:56Speaker 1: I say it isn't as much money as it sounds like.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Most people who get to a place of making like
- 19:01Speaker 1: $ 3 million have been making money along the way. And
- 19:04Speaker 1: so you've built up and you've bought all the stuff
- 19:06Speaker 1: that you need. And then these millions of dollars kind
- 19:09Speaker 1: of become gravy. Maybe you buy a bigger house or
- 19:11Speaker 1: whatever it is. If you're starting from zero, and I
- 19:14Speaker 1: don't know anything about Emmanuel Classe, right? Like he might
- 19:18Speaker 1: be the fresh prince of Santo Domingo or wherever he
- 19:22Speaker 1: is from the Dominican, right? His people may have all
- 19:24Speaker 1: the paper. I have no idea. OK, if I had
- 19:27Speaker 1: to guess, I would not assume that he comes from bread.
- 19:31Speaker 1: That's just typically not the story that we get on
- 19:33Speaker 1: the Dominican baseball players, although it would be really funny
- 19:35Speaker 1: if some of them are like really bougie and we
- 19:38Speaker 1: just have no idea. Like I got a partner in
- 19:41Speaker 1: New York and he married to a woman from a
- 19:43Speaker 1: South American country and he would like try to impress
- 19:47Speaker 1: her and take her to the neighborhood.
- 19:49Speaker 7: Right.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Where the people from her country be. And she had
- 19:53Speaker 1: to explain to him that, hey, man, while it is
- 19:55Speaker 1: cool to be around my people, I'm a little fancier
- 19:58Speaker 1: than this. You know what I mean? In the old country,
- 20:05Speaker 1: she don't be hanging out in the type of neighborhood
- 20:07Speaker 1: that is the neighborhood in the Bronx or in Wood
- 20:10Speaker 1: or wherever they be. You understand what I'm saying? That's
- 20:13Speaker 1: how it goes. Either way, let's start from the presumption
- 20:16Speaker 1: that Class A don't have a lot of money. Let's
- 20:18Speaker 1: then say that he's been making a million dollars a year,
- 20:20Speaker 1: a couple million dollars a year. I looked it up.
- 20:21Speaker 1: He ain't really hit for the big score yet, right?
- 20:25Speaker 1: How much of that money is going back to the crib? right? Like,
- 20:29Speaker 1: I don't know how many people are depending on him.
- 20:32Speaker 1: So what I'm saying there, there is a difference between
- 20:36Speaker 1: making a lot of money and having a lot of money.
- 20:41Speaker 1: And it is entirely possible to class as a person
- 20:43Speaker 1: who has a lot of money and therefore an extra
- 20:47Speaker 1: 60 G's, you know, might be a thing. On the
- 20:52Speaker 1: other hand, Ryan, I believe they said that the other
- 20:55Speaker 1: people in this plot were making upwards of six figures
- 20:59Speaker 1: in this, like the people that were behind him. I
- 21:02Speaker 1: feel like Klase should have got his agent involved.
- 21:05Speaker 5: Right.
- 21:05Speaker 1: I don't think he's getting a big enough split off
- 21:08Speaker 1: of this.
- 21:09Speaker 3: For sure. Yeah.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Also, are these people who are running this game, are
- 21:14Speaker 1: they placing their bets domestically rather than offshore where it's
- 21:16Speaker 1: a little harder to track, number one? Number two, they
- 21:18Speaker 1: ain't got no crypto? Okay, now I'm out here criticizing
- 21:20Speaker 1: them for being stupid. Go ahead.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, it sounds like they're running these games
- 21:26Speaker 3: from all sorts of books, but it does– while the
- 21:30Speaker 3: offshore books are harder– To catch.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Yeah, they're still.
- 21:33Speaker 3: They're still sportsbooks. Got you.
- 21:35Speaker 5: Got you.
- 21:36Speaker 1: That's a good point. They're still doing.
- 21:38Speaker 3: They're still trying to make money the same way.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Yeah. Also, they're still trying not to get caught up.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Correct.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Yes.
- 21:43Speaker 4: Right?
- 21:43Speaker 1: They're still... Okay. Totally makes sense. You are correct.
- 21:46Speaker 5: But.
- 21:49Speaker 1: What struck me about this story was the idea that
- 21:53Speaker 1: you could bet on how fast the pitch was. Or
- 21:56Speaker 1: the idea that you could bet on something as simple
- 21:58Speaker 1: as balls and strikes. The ability to do this, the
- 22:06Speaker 1: sports books and the leagues set themselves up for this. Now,
- 22:13Speaker 1: one could argue that what I am engaging in is
- 22:15Speaker 1: a measure of victim blaming because by nature of this,
- 22:18Speaker 1: the crime is against the casino. Therefore, the casino is
- 22:22Speaker 1: the victim in this case. And I think that point
- 22:26Speaker 1: is important to bring up that the victim is the
- 22:28Speaker 1: casino because the In baseball, man, they be burning pitches
- 22:32Speaker 1: all the time, right? I probably need to throw a
- 22:35Speaker 1: strike right now, but it's my turn to hit somebody
- 22:38Speaker 1: in the ear hole. You know what I mean? Like
- 22:42Speaker 1: one pitch, they'll burn a pitch all the time. These
- 22:45Speaker 1: are not crimes against the integrity of the game as
- 22:48Speaker 1: far as the accusation goes. It's just not. These are
- 22:52Speaker 1: crimes against the fiduciary sanctity of the sports books. That
- 22:58Speaker 1: is against whom the crime has been committed. And I
- 23:02Speaker 1: don't care that much about that, right? And I needed
- 23:05Speaker 1: to be a little more careful in my brain as
- 23:07Speaker 1: I think about this when it relates to the basketball stuff. Also,
- 23:10Speaker 1: nobody over there has been accused of fixing a game.
- 23:13Speaker 1: I still think that that story was fairly catastrophic because,
- 23:16Speaker 1: number one, it truly exposed the vulnerability of that league
- 23:19Speaker 1: of guys who have made hundreds of millions of dollars
- 23:21Speaker 1: could get caught up like this. If a Hall of
- 23:23Speaker 1: Famer could get caught up like this. But because an
- 23:26Speaker 1: NBA head coach may be in the pocket of organized crime.
- 23:31Speaker 1: I think that that story was catastrophic. For baseball, these guys,
- 23:35Speaker 1: this isn't the Black Sox, right? This ain't eight men out.
- 23:39Speaker 1: This is a dude trying to get over on the casino.
- 23:42Speaker 1: I don't care that much about that. I also look
- 23:45Speaker 1: at that from the standpoints of the casino when I
- 23:47Speaker 1: say that's what you get. Now, to be fair to
- 23:51Speaker 1: the casino, they're like, what do you mean that's what
- 23:53Speaker 1: we get? What we do is we provide things for
- 23:57Speaker 1: people to bet on. That's the business. Fair point. But
- 24:03Speaker 1: y'all got a little greedy. Now, one could argue that
- 24:05Speaker 1: they actually haven't gotten greedy because none of them are
- 24:08Speaker 1: actually making any money. Also, fair point, right? However, this
- 24:17Speaker 1: was so easily fixable and manipulable.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Easily.
- 24:24Speaker 1: And the reason is because it's nothing to burn a pitch, right?
- 24:30Speaker 1: And number two, I decided to throw a slider instead
- 24:35Speaker 1: of a cutter. My prerogative, baby.
- 24:38Speaker 3: Right, it's not fixing a game or even, you know,
- 24:42Speaker 3: what Terry Rozier was accused of doing, right, was essentially
- 24:46Speaker 3: faking an injury.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Yes.
- 24:48Speaker 3: It was like betting an injury and saying, oh my,
- 24:50Speaker 3: I twisted my ankle and I only got two points
- 24:52Speaker 3: instead of eight or whatever. Right. That has a cost
- 24:55Speaker 3: to your team.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Right. But I also still say on that front, it
- 24:58Speaker 1: has a cost to your team. Terry Rozier could get
- 25:00Speaker 1: away with that, but Bam Adebayo could not.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Correct.
- 25:03Speaker 1: You know what I mean? And so how much Terry
- 25:06Speaker 1: Rozier actually swings the game? Shit, sometimes his coach might
- 25:09Speaker 1: be glad he ain't playing.
- 25:10Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 25:11Speaker 1: That's the best thing to ever happen to us, right?
- 25:14Speaker 3: Addition by subtraction.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Right, but he had no financial incentive to directly affect
- 25:19Speaker 1: the outcome of the game.
- 25:21Speaker 3: Right.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Right, and so that makes it a little bit easier
- 25:25Speaker 1: to encourage such behavior. In this case, there's nothing really
- 25:29Speaker 1: to stop anybody. from doing this, right? The only thing
- 25:34Speaker 1: that's really going to stop somebody from doing this is
- 25:37Speaker 1: the fact that you might get caught. And what we
- 25:39Speaker 1: are learning is that doesn't truly dissuade as many people
- 25:45Speaker 1: as we would like to think. I'm going to get caught,
- 25:48Speaker 1: or maybe you won't. Like, do you remember in the
- 25:51Speaker 1: last dance where they told Michael Jordan if he came
- 25:53Speaker 1: back in 1985 that there was a 10% chance that
- 25:56Speaker 1: his career could end? And he says with a 90%
- 25:59Speaker 1: chance that it won't, so I'm going to play. That
- 26:00Speaker 1: is the dumbest shit I have ever heard in my life.
- 26:03Speaker 3: But to some people, 90 is greater than 10.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Right. But like, that's Michael Jordan, who, by the way,
- 26:10Speaker 1: doesn't appear to be dumb. Right. Terrible logic that he
- 26:14Speaker 1: was using. Terrible. Think about it. I don't eat raw
- 26:18Speaker 1: oysters because of the odds. And those odds are way
- 26:22Speaker 1: lower than 10%.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Right.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Right. Come on, man. But it's these thirst that everybody
- 26:28Speaker 1: has to make as much money off this gambling as
- 26:30Speaker 1: possible that they look at this and don't say to themselves, hey, man,
- 26:34Speaker 1: this is really easy for somebody to try to fix.
- 26:37Speaker 1: But oh, well, let's go out here and get this money. Now,
- 26:40Speaker 1: since that story has come out on Monday, it was
- 26:42Speaker 1: announcement that baseball and the books have gotten together and
- 26:46Speaker 1: decided to limit the prop bets to a maximum of
- 26:50Speaker 1: two hundred dollars on this pitch thing. My question being,
- 26:53Speaker 1: why could anybody ever bet more than $ 200 on this? Also,
- 26:57Speaker 1: they have said that you can no longer attach these
- 26:59Speaker 1: to parlays because that's a big part of what these
- 27:01Speaker 1: cats was doing was, um, class A is going to
- 27:04Speaker 1: throw a ball and class A is going to be
- 27:06Speaker 1: under 94 miles an hour. Put that together in a parlay. Voila. Magic, right? Okay. Again,
- 27:15Speaker 1: As good as Klase is, still seems really easy to
- 27:19Speaker 1: track when somebody's decided to put some money on this
- 27:21Speaker 1: and they're gonna figure out what time it is, all right?
- 27:24Speaker 1: This seems very, very simple for somebody to figure out,
- 27:27Speaker 1: but it's simple to figure out, also meaning it's simple
- 27:31Speaker 1: to induce somebody to engage in this. The fact that
- 27:35Speaker 1: you know that you need to put a money limit
- 27:38Speaker 1: on it in order to make it happen, y'all know
- 27:42Speaker 1: y'all got greedy, okay? So to me, this one is not,
- 27:47Speaker 1: I mean, you could argue that what we have is
- 27:49Speaker 1: kind of an institutional failure of what sports is becoming. Okay, cool, right?
- 27:54Speaker 1: Not just sports, but society. But what this really is,
- 27:58Speaker 1: y'all trying to get every dollar that people have and
- 28:01Speaker 1: then somebody caught y'all up in the process. This was
- 28:05Speaker 1: a stupid thing for the books to ever to allow
- 28:07Speaker 1: to happen. And if you want to have prop bets generally,
- 28:10Speaker 1: I get it. I think we're going to eventually trend
- 28:13Speaker 1: to a place where it goes away. Except again, these
- 28:15Speaker 1: people need to figure out how to make money. And
- 28:17Speaker 1: this is a way that they've got to make money.
- 28:19Speaker 1: But you can't make it this easy for people. You
- 28:22Speaker 1: just can't. And they did. I will not weep for you,
- 28:26Speaker 1: especially not when in the face of it, you were like, OK, well,
- 28:30Speaker 1: let's just take the limit down. Y'all ain't learned nothing.

- 29:50Speaker 3: All right bo let's get to some stories from the
- 29:52Speaker 3: weekend LSU and Brian Kelly drama continues. Dan Wetzel's reporting
- 29:58Speaker 3: an illegal filing obtained by ESPN. Brian Kelly's lawyer stated
- 30:02Speaker 3: LSU saying it, quote, never formally terminated Kelly or seeking
- 30:06Speaker 3: to fire him, quote, for a cause which impacts his
- 30:09Speaker 3: near $ 54 million buyout. Kelly could be taking this to
- 30:12Speaker 3: court as he wants every dollar of said buyout. Bo,
- 30:17Speaker 3: are you surprised by this development?
- 30:21Speaker 1: Why didn't they do it? You got to do this
- 30:22Speaker 1: from the beginning. Like, also, what does formally terminate mean?
- 30:28Speaker 3: I'm assuming that means for cause.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Well, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. So this
- 30:33Speaker 1: is the thing. They want to fire him for cause now. Right.
- 30:36Speaker 1: What this says to me or the argument is we
- 30:41Speaker 1: did not formally terminate him, yet he stopped coming to work.
- 30:47Speaker 1: They're basically accusing him of no call, no show.
- 30:51Speaker 3: That is, if only they had someone who had been
- 30:55Speaker 3: in charge of collegiate athletic programs for a long time,
- 30:59Speaker 3: an experienced person at multiple stops, who had worked with
- 31:02Speaker 3: very popular and well-respected people in the league, and who
- 31:09Speaker 3: made this initial decision and was going to figure out
- 31:11Speaker 3: the ramifications of it. Oh, wait, they fired the athletic
- 31:13Speaker 3: director three days after they fired the coach.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Yes. But the argument they're trying to make is that
- 31:18Speaker 1: they were sitting around every day Wondering when Brian Kelly
- 31:22Speaker 1: was going to show up. And then he never came.
- 31:25Speaker 1: And so they had to fire him.
- 31:27Speaker 3: Right?
- 31:27Speaker 1: Like, I had a buddy of mine. I'll never forget this.
- 31:29Speaker 1: He worked at, maybe that's what they try to say.
- 31:32Speaker 1: He worked at Marshalls when he was in high school.
- 31:35Speaker 1: And I was like, yo, man, you still working at Marshalls? Nah.
- 31:39Speaker 1: You get fired? Nah. Did you quit? Nah. What happened?
- 31:46Speaker 1: They stopped giving me hours on the schedule. I stopped
- 31:50Speaker 1: coming to look. Is that what they say? Is that
- 31:54Speaker 1: what they say? It happened with Brian Kelly.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Cause you can't don't call no show as a coach.
- 32:01Speaker 3: It is just the whole, I understand not wanting to
- 32:03Speaker 3: pay Brian Kelly $ 54 million. I wouldn't want to play
- 32:06Speaker 3: Brian Kelly $ 5. Right. But like, yeah, but once you're
- 32:10Speaker 3: making decision to get to like, we're moving on, like,
- 32:14Speaker 3: That's a sunk cost fallacy. You're paying that money.
- 32:17Speaker 1: Yes. We all know that you fired him. And in
- 32:20Speaker 1: all likelihood, like there's an argument that it's cheaper for
- 32:23Speaker 1: you to pay out the 54 over the term of
- 32:26Speaker 1: the contract. Right. Then it is for you to pay
- 32:29Speaker 1: 25 in a lump sum. Right. You know, like it's
- 32:34Speaker 1: the Bobby Bonilla thing. Now, of course, these numbers are
- 32:36Speaker 1: a little different, but people laugh at the Mets for
- 32:38Speaker 1: Bobby Bonilla. Man, they gave that money to Bernie Madoff.
- 32:41Speaker 1: They made so much more money than this $ 1 million.
- 32:46Speaker 1: They were like, whatever, man. We have a Xerox machine
- 32:51Speaker 1: over here that turns $ 1 into $ 2. And you think
- 32:54Speaker 1: we're worried about a fucking annuity? Are you serious? But
- 32:59Speaker 1: this is going to continue. You just got to get
- 33:02Speaker 1: out of this. But now, if you're going to fire
- 33:04Speaker 1: for cause, you got to do that up front. But
- 33:06Speaker 1: they're not as gangster as Tennessee. You remember when Tennessee,
- 33:09Speaker 1: it sounded like they turned in Jeremy Pruitt to the
- 33:11Speaker 1: NCAA so that they could fire for cause. They were
- 33:14Speaker 1: willing to eat probation. in order to move on lsu
- 33:18Speaker 1: was not willing to do that just give them the
- 33:21Speaker 1: money man but i think they offered him i think what.
- 33:23Speaker 3: What what were it was 25 and then they offered
- 33:26Speaker 3: him 30 and they were like uh no i will
- 33:28Speaker 3: take every cent of that bio because of course they
- 33:30Speaker 3: will like it sounds like like you can make the
- 33:33Speaker 3: argument that's part of the reason brian kelly took this
- 33:35Speaker 3: job is they offered him a guaranteed 100 million dollars.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Do you remember When the Knicks were trying to buy
- 33:43Speaker 1: Stephon Marbury out.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:45Speaker 1: And it kept coming up. And one of my favorite
- 33:47Speaker 1: NBA quotes of all time, they're going to give me
- 33:51Speaker 1: all of my money. And then he was turning up
- 33:55Speaker 1: courtside at Knicks games all across the country. Like he
- 33:58Speaker 1: was traveling with the team, but not with the team,
- 34:00Speaker 1: but just not playing. Oh my God, I want Brian
- 34:03Speaker 1: Kelly to start going to LSU games. Except he's going
- 34:05Speaker 1: to need to sit on the other team's side.
- 34:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm interested to see how he gets into that stadium.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Also, by the way, we forgot about this. So they
- 34:15Speaker 1: had announced, or the word had got out at least,
- 34:17Speaker 1: I don't know if it was a full announcement, that
- 34:19Speaker 1: Virg Osbury, the interim athletic director, was going to be
- 34:22Speaker 1: named the athletic director. And then they came back and said, no, no, no.
- 34:27Speaker 3: They seem to have sorted that out now.
- 34:30Speaker 1: They have. Okay, but let me tell people, they did
- 34:31Speaker 1: come back and say, no, we have named him the
- 34:34Speaker 1: acting athletic director, not the interim athletic director, to which
- 34:38Speaker 1: my man Mark Ennis said on Twitter, no, not the
- 34:41Speaker 1: assistant manager, the assistant director. To the manager. Right. So
- 34:46Speaker 1: what now?
- 34:47Speaker 3: Things are going great in Baton Rouge. We'll see how
- 34:49Speaker 3: the next.
- 34:50Speaker 1: You said they straightened that out now. So is he
- 34:52Speaker 1: the athletic director?
- 34:53Speaker 3: He is the athletic director. Because they just had to. Remember,
- 34:55Speaker 3: they just hired. They had to hire a new president, too.
- 34:57Speaker 1: They do have to hire a new president.
- 34:58Speaker 3: So they brought in a new president.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Oh, they got the president.
- 35:01Speaker 3: They brought the president. That's where the interim acting thing
- 35:03Speaker 3: got confusing. It was like, so the new president apparently
- 35:08Speaker 3: messed that up.
- 35:09Speaker 1: But we'll see. So you're telling me, though, that they
- 35:11Speaker 1: hired a president and the president didn't really get to
- 35:13Speaker 1: hire his own athletic director.
- 35:16Speaker 3: Correct.
- 35:16Speaker 1: And they're now going to try to hire a football coach. Right.
- 35:20Speaker 1: I will also point this out.
- 35:22Speaker 3: The question is, who is they? And that also has
- 35:25Speaker 3: not really been sorted out either.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Hey, let me explain something else to people about Berg Osbury,
- 35:30Speaker 1: if you don't know. V-E-R-G-E space A-U-S-B-E-R-R-Y. Go ahead and
- 35:35Speaker 1: look up a picture of him. If you have never
- 35:37Speaker 1: seen a picture of him before, press pause. Then look
- 35:39Speaker 1: up a picture of him, and then I will say
- 35:41Speaker 1: my next sentence, and I will count it down.
- 35:42Speaker 5: Three, two, one.
- 35:44Speaker 1: Three, two, one. If you think they letting his black
- 35:48Speaker 1: ass pick the athletic director, you are.
- 35:50Speaker 5: You are.
- 35:52Speaker 1: You believe in a future that I don't think has
- 35:54Speaker 1: gotten here yet. They wouldn't have done that when Obama
- 35:57Speaker 1: was president.
- 35:59Speaker 3: All right, moving on to Monday Night Football. Not exactly
- 36:01Speaker 3: a barn burner of a game. Eagles win. 10-7 over
- 36:05Speaker 3: the Packers. Bo, who's been a more confusing quarterback this season,
- 36:09Speaker 3: Jalen Hurts or Jordan Love?
- 36:11Speaker 1: Oh, Jordan Love. Jalen Hurts doesn't really confuse me. I
- 36:15Speaker 1: got a pretty good handle on what's going on there.
- 36:17Speaker 1: I don't think he confuses anybody. It's just a matter
- 36:19Speaker 1: of what you decide to say about him. Right. Jordan Love, man, just,
- 36:25Speaker 1: he looks so cold at points. And by the way,
- 36:27Speaker 1: I don't care what Joe Buckenden was trying to say.
- 36:29Speaker 1: This was not a good football game. They kept trying.
- 36:32Speaker 1: It was a really entertaining score on this game. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Look,
- 36:36Speaker 1: you're a soccer man. You know what I'm saying? Like, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.
- 36:40Speaker 1: I did not think this was it. Love, or is
- 36:43Speaker 1: he a case of not actually confusing, just really talented
- 36:47Speaker 1: and highly erratic? Is that what we've got? Right.
- 36:51Speaker 3: And now people are starting to call for Matt Fleur's job.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Yes. That is interesting. Right. Because one thing about this franchise...
- 37:01Speaker 1: They are a stable bunch. Correct. Since Mike Holmgren got
- 37:06Speaker 1: that job, which is like in, what, 92 or something
- 37:08Speaker 1: like that. Holmgren had his stretch. They did that quick
- 37:12Speaker 1: Ray Rhodes run. But Mike Sherman was there. That was
- 37:14Speaker 1: a pretty steady run that they had there. Mike McCarthy
- 37:17Speaker 1: got to stay there for a really long time. They
- 37:21Speaker 1: have had three quarterbacks since I was in the seventh grade.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Eighth grade, my bad. but still three quarterbacks since I
- 37:29Speaker 1: was in eighth grade. Yeah, they just, they keep this
- 37:31Speaker 1: thing moving really smooth. With LeFleur, this team has underachieved.
- 37:38Speaker 1: I don't think there's any question about that. They also
- 37:40Speaker 1: gave up a couple of first round picks in order
- 37:43Speaker 1: to get Micah Parsons. Like this was a team that
- 37:45Speaker 1: we looked at the beginning of the year as the
- 37:47Speaker 1: win now. Do we think that the Packers are going
- 37:51Speaker 1: to fire LeFleur? I'm inclined to say no. And the
- 37:53Speaker 1: biggest reason I'm inclined to say no is A team
- 37:56Speaker 1: that doesn't actually have an owner is likely to be
- 37:59Speaker 1: a little bit more patient. I know they have a
- 38:02Speaker 1: CEO set up, but I think there's a couple more
- 38:04Speaker 1: voices that probably slow this down a little bit.
- 38:08Speaker 3: And Fleur is in the Mike Tomlin zone of if
- 38:11Speaker 3: he got fired, he would have... immediately coaches would coat
- 38:15Speaker 3: people would fire their coach to hire Matt for.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Immediately and I don't I don't know about you but
- 38:21Speaker 1: I don't feel like the problems that they have and
- 38:23Speaker 1: you know we'll need to trust the people they eat
- 38:25Speaker 1: the film a little bit more but the problems that
- 38:26Speaker 1: they have seem to me to be much more about
- 38:29Speaker 1: the play of the quarterback than the way that the
- 38:31Speaker 1: quarterback um has been coached um they're also down they
- 38:35Speaker 1: down a few guys like I'm like I'm looking at
- 38:37Speaker 1: their receivers, and I've heard of, like, guys that are receivers.
- 38:40Speaker 1: I've only heard of two of them and only one
- 38:42Speaker 1: of them because he's wearing a big hat.
- 38:43Speaker 3: Do you think Matt LeFleur might be a Kyle Shanahan
- 38:49Speaker 3: guy who loves sixes?
- 38:51Speaker 1: That's another good question, but he's never had a six.
- 38:54Speaker 3: I mean, he had a six who used to be
- 38:56Speaker 3: in 10 in Aaron Rodgers those last couple years.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Now, that's an interesting point, right? Because he's had Aaron
- 39:01Speaker 1: Rodgers here, but I think he had what? He was
- 39:03Speaker 1: running the offense in Tennessee. right so i think he
- 39:06Speaker 1: had but i think he had tannahill right what oh
- 39:09Speaker 1: that that all those guys seem to like sixes now
- 39:13Speaker 1: it's sam darnell is he a six because he actually
- 39:17Speaker 1: like he looks like a good solid eight and a
- 39:19Speaker 1: half well i.
- 39:21Speaker 3: I'm going to tell you sometimes when you're six and
- 39:22Speaker 3: you're six two you become an eight you know if
- 39:24Speaker 3: you're if you're if you're if you're if you're a.
- 39:27Speaker 1: Six and you're tall it's a fair point it's a
- 39:30Speaker 1: fair point. But the thing is this. Everybody in their
- 39:32Speaker 1: division is good. Right. I think that they have a
- 39:34Speaker 1: chance to turn this around, right? Like they're 5-3-1. I
- 39:39Speaker 1: think they probably finish second in that division to America's team,
- 39:42Speaker 1: the Detroit Lions. And then win a playoff game and
- 39:45Speaker 1: everything's all right.
- 39:46Speaker 3: Right. And– And finally, speaking of people who might lose
- 39:49Speaker 3: their job, Tim McMahon from ESPN is reporting that Nico
- 39:54Speaker 3: Harrison is now a firing of when, not if, they
- 39:58Speaker 3: might make that decision in the midseason. Bo, are you surprised?
- 40:02Speaker 1: All right. I was kinder to Nico. When this trade
- 40:06Speaker 1: was made by most people, and by the way, let
- 40:09Speaker 1: us never forget how amazing it was for all of
- 40:12Speaker 1: us to wake up and be like, what?
- 40:14Speaker 3: Yeah, that was a great content day.
- 40:17Speaker 1: That is like the most shocking sports news. Because it
- 40:20Speaker 1: happened in the middle of the night. It happened in
- 40:22Speaker 1: the middle. I told you, man. Our boss, TD, sent
- 40:24Speaker 1: me that text. It was like, because I woke up
- 40:27Speaker 1: at 4 o'clock in the morning. I was flying, catching
- 40:28Speaker 1: an early flight. And he sent a text talking about, yeah,
- 40:31Speaker 1: the Luka for AD trade. I was like, who the
- 40:33Speaker 1: hell is AD? Because there's no way in the world
- 40:34Speaker 1: you're telling me that Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis were
- 40:36Speaker 1: in a trade.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Like, what are you talking about? But anyway, I was
- 40:41Speaker 1: kinder to Nico when that trade was made than most people.
- 40:43Speaker 1: But I said on that day that trade was going
- 40:45Speaker 1: to get him fired. So, no, I am not surprised.
- 40:48Speaker 1: I am surprised how bad they are this year.
- 40:51Speaker 3: They're bad. They put together a very bad roster. And
- 40:56Speaker 3: it's just one of the things, like, can you imagine
- 40:58Speaker 3: going to work? And everyone's chanting fire, Nico, the whole game.
- 41:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 41:04Speaker 1: See, so here's what I say. I don't think that
- 41:05Speaker 1: this is a very bad roster. But without Kyrie Irving,
- 41:10Speaker 1: it is obviously an ill-fitting roster. The big thing that
- 41:13Speaker 1: happened to them was the version of Anthony Davis that
- 41:17Speaker 1: showed up. Look, this is what Nico needed. Nico needed
- 41:23Speaker 1: people from the Lakers to say that they traded Anthony
- 41:25Speaker 1: Davis because he was lazy. Right. Because that's what they
- 41:29Speaker 1: did to Luka. And he's over there looking like Arnold Schwarzenegger,
- 41:33Speaker 1: just some other Eastern Central European type of swole man. Right.
- 41:37Speaker 1: You don't look really swole, but you know what I mean?
- 41:39Speaker 5: He's in.
- 41:39Speaker 1: I told you that was going to happen to best
- 41:41Speaker 1: shape of his career was guaranteed from Luka. All right.
- 41:45Speaker 1: And now him and his merry band of Europeans of
- 41:48Speaker 1: all stripes. They got him. They got Austin Reeves. They
- 41:51Speaker 1: got another white dude to La Ravia.
- 41:54Speaker 3: Yeah, and they've won six of their last seven.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Right, right. They over there doing it. Anthony Davis came
- 42:01Speaker 1: in looking like Stanley Roberts. Well, not exactly Stanley Roberts.
- 42:04Speaker 1: That's going a little bit far, but it was a
- 42:06Speaker 1: lot more. And remember when he tried to tell us,
- 42:08Speaker 1: he was like, oh, yeah, you know, I just like
- 42:10Speaker 1: to come in a little heavy because then otherwise I
- 42:12Speaker 1: start getting into shape and then I lose too much weight.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Did he ever lose the weight?
- 42:16Speaker 3: Yeah, he looks puffy.
- 42:18Speaker 1: He looks puffy. Keep those words in mind, because that
- 42:23Speaker 1: is exactly how he looks. He looks puffy. So, no,
- 42:27Speaker 1: I am not surprised that Nico's going to get fired.
- 42:29Speaker 1: They hate him. Like, there's just no way around it.
- 42:32Speaker 1: There's literally nothing that he could ever do to make
- 42:36Speaker 1: them get over the fact that he traded Luka down.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Just look, man. Rest in peace to Lenny Wilkins. Lenny
- 42:45Speaker 1: Wilkins died a couple of days ago, former NBA coach,
- 42:48Speaker 1: former coach of the Atlanta Hawks. And I saw my
- 42:51Speaker 1: buddy David Dennis had gone on TV and he had
- 42:53Speaker 1: done something about Lenny Wilkins and he was talking about
- 42:55Speaker 1: his legacy in Atlanta. David lives in Atlanta, but David
- 42:58Speaker 1: is not from Atlanta. And you'll understand why I make
- 43:01Speaker 1: that distinction in a second. So he says about Lenny
- 43:04Speaker 1: being a good guy and they write a very flattering
- 43:06Speaker 1: quote from Dominique Wilkins about Lenny Wilkins and everything else.
- 43:09Speaker 1: And he was like, that is Lenny Wilkins' legacy in Atlanta.
- 43:14Speaker 1: That is not true. Lenny Wilkins is the dude who
- 43:18Speaker 1: traded Dominique. And I realized that after the news came
- 43:23Speaker 1: out that he had passed and I watched David Dennis'
- 43:25Speaker 1: segment and my brain is just screaming, he traded Dominique.
- 43:29Speaker 1: It's been 31 years and the man just died and
- 43:36Speaker 1: he doesn't seem to be a bad dude. And all
- 43:39Speaker 1: I could think about was he traded Dominique.
- 43:42Speaker 5: Nico. Nico.
- 43:44Speaker 1: You traded Luke.
- 43:49Speaker 3: And look. They might fire him in the middle of
- 43:51Speaker 3: a game WWE style.
- 43:53Speaker 1: In front of everybody. They go trick him. Like, you
- 43:55Speaker 1: know how it is when they be having people come
- 43:57Speaker 1: out to the midcourt and then they bring back their
- 43:59Speaker 1: families from Kuwait or Afghanistan or one of them places
- 44:02Speaker 1: we be bombing.
- 44:03Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying? They might have Dirk come
- 44:05Speaker 3: out and hit him with a steel chair.
- 44:06Speaker 1: This is... This is, you traded Luka. And look, as
- 44:13Speaker 1: much as cats like me who grew up rooting for
- 44:15Speaker 1: Atlanta sports for all that time, like how we love Dominique,
- 44:20Speaker 1: we are not white and neither is he. Like the
- 44:23Speaker 1: black people from Dallas, they're a little salty about this.
- 44:25Speaker 1: They think it's stupid. White people from Dallas, and not
- 44:29Speaker 1: even just from Dallas, some of them from Oklahoma because
- 44:31Speaker 1: they used to root for Dallas before they had their
- 44:33Speaker 1: own team. Bruh, no, no. I just, I don't know
- 44:37Speaker 1: how he thought This was going to end, right? He's like, hey,
- 44:40Speaker 1: you know, we're going to see. No, you're going to
- 44:42Speaker 1: get fired. So I don't really understand why it is
- 44:46Speaker 1: that they are waiting. Go ahead and get that done
- 44:49Speaker 1: right now. What will be done eventually should be done immediately.
- 44:56Speaker 1: So as soon as he made that trade, he should
- 44:58Speaker 1: have been like, hey, okay, we press send on the trade.
- 45:03Speaker 1: And let me get that. Let me get your ID, buddy.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Go ahead. Yeah, like as soon as he made that trade,
- 45:09Speaker 1: they should have been like, yeah, go ahead and make
- 45:10Speaker 1: the trade. Don't forget to bring your laptop and your key. Now,
- 45:15Speaker 1: of course, I guess that means they could have stopped
- 45:17Speaker 1: him from making the trade also. But damn, like damn, damn.
- 45:27Speaker 3: All right, Bo, let's get to some voicemail. A lot
- 45:31Speaker 3: of good submissions. Here's our first.
- 45:33Speaker 7: Yeah, what's going on, Bermondi? This is Stefan calling from Chicago.
- 45:36Speaker 7: I appreciate all the good content you provide to me.
- 45:40Speaker 7: Get me through my workday on an almost daily basis.
- 45:43Speaker 7: The question I have, previously you've mentioned your all-time favorite
- 45:47Speaker 7: television show being The Simpsons. Like you, this is also
- 45:50Speaker 7: my favorite. However, I, too, have not really followed it
- 45:53Speaker 7: in the last 20 years, even though it's pretty much
- 45:55Speaker 7: been around my whole life. I've been looking towards the past.
- 45:59Speaker 7: What would you consider your favorite character, and why isn't
- 46:01Speaker 7: it Sideshow Bob? Thanks for taking my question.
- 46:04Speaker 4: Appreciate you.
- 46:04Speaker 3: All right.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Sideshow Bob is an amazing construction, right? Like the idea
- 46:11Speaker 1: that you are this classically trained actor and you are
- 46:14Speaker 1: stuck riding shotgun to Krusty the Cloud, right? Like everything
- 46:20Speaker 1: about him. My favorite Simpsons character is... tough tough tough
- 46:24Speaker 1: I'm a big Barty Gumbel fan though you remember the
- 46:26Speaker 1: time that Maggie got lost and over over Bart had
- 46:29Speaker 1: to try to find Maggie and um somehow but but
- 46:33Speaker 1: Barty wanted to cook breakfast and over is like Barty
- 46:36Speaker 1: we gotta find Maggie are you sure I bought a
- 46:38Speaker 1: big omelets no we gotta find Maggie are you sure
- 46:41Speaker 1: I make them with three kinds of cheese then I
- 46:44Speaker 1: run around the house and Barty's looking under the porch
- 46:49Speaker 1: and he's reaching under because he thinks he's seen Maggie's
- 46:51Speaker 1: arm and he's yanking it. And Homer's like, yo, you're
- 46:53Speaker 1: going to yank her arm out. And Barty's like, the
- 46:55Speaker 1: sooner we get her out of here, the sooner we
- 46:58Speaker 1: get omelets. What? And that is just minor league level, like,
- 47:04Speaker 1: Simpsons humor. I'm a big Moses-like Oh, really? Oh, God, yeah.
- 47:09Speaker 1: I'd say, if you call this place one more time,
- 47:10Speaker 1: I'm going to cut your head off. I'm going to
- 47:12Speaker 1: rip your head off. I'm going to use your head
- 47:15Speaker 1: as a bucket and paint the wall with your brains. Oh, okay. Wow. Also, Mr.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Burns.
- 47:23Speaker 1: There's just a handful of characters that it's just like, yeah,
- 47:25Speaker 1: every time they talk.
- 47:26Speaker 2: It's funny.
- 47:27Speaker 5: Mr.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Burns?
- 47:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that's how I am with Mr.
- 47:29Speaker 5: Burns.
- 47:29Speaker 1: My man Willie? Groundskeeper Willie? So, let me tell you this.
- 47:33Speaker 1: This is my new favorite Simpsons thing. You'll love this.
- 47:36Speaker 1: My Spanish teacher, mi profesora. Ella estoy en Colombia. See?
- 47:42Speaker 1: She lives in Colombia. And she apparently loves The Simpsons.
- 47:47Speaker 1: It was explaining to me that they got The Simpsons
- 47:51Speaker 1: in all of this, but I don't remember why she
- 47:53Speaker 1: just brought it up and mentioned Groundskeeper Willie. Imagine the accent.
- 47:58Speaker 1: Imagine Groundskeeper Willie in the Groundskeeper Willie accent, but he's
- 48:03Speaker 1: speaking Spanish.
- 48:04Speaker 3: That's incredible.
- 48:05Speaker 1: Like, is that really a thing? It appears to be
- 48:08Speaker 1: a thing.
- 48:09Speaker 3: All right. Here's our next one.
- 48:12Speaker 5: Oh, what's going on, man? This is Charles from D.C. Hey, man.
- 48:16Speaker 5: So I got a crazy story. Well, a funny story, rather.
- 48:19Speaker 5: My dad always likes to tell. He's in college at
- 48:23Speaker 5: Bowie State. And he's the tallest dude on his team.
- 48:30Speaker 5: And his center gets injured. So he's like, all right.
- 48:35Speaker 5: I'll play center. It just so happened to be that
- 48:39Speaker 5: they go against Old Dominion. And I don't know if
- 48:44Speaker 5: you know who played there, but it happens to be
- 48:48Speaker 5: an NBA player by the name of, you guessed it,
- 48:52Speaker 5: Charles Oakley.
- 48:54Speaker 4: So they go to play the game.
- 48:58Speaker 5: And Charles Oakley is bodying my pops, you know, and
- 49:03Speaker 5: he said.
- 49:03Speaker 6: Man, He got about 40 on me, and he got
- 49:08Speaker 6: 10 rebounds, too. I tried to do everything I could,
- 49:14Speaker 6: and there was nothing I could do against him, but
- 49:18Speaker 6: you know I got my.
- 49:20Speaker 2: 20 though I'm like Pops no no you let Charles
- 49:25Speaker 2: Oakley put up 40 points on you yeah yeah so
- 49:29Speaker 2: what I got my 20.
- 49:31Speaker 5: Though and he loved telling that story alright thanks again
- 49:39Speaker 5: You have a good day, bro.
- 49:40Speaker 1: All right. Appreciate you, brother. First of all, no shade
- 49:43Speaker 1: to you on this, just to help you out the
- 49:44Speaker 1: next time. Oakley actually went to Virginia Union. But if
- 49:49Speaker 1: I were telling that story and I was his father,
- 49:54Speaker 1: I would just leave out the he gave me 40 part. Like,
- 49:57Speaker 1: either this is a story about Charles Oakley giving you
- 49:59Speaker 1: 40 or about you giving Charles Oakley 20.
- 50:02Speaker 3: Right. Just switch the order.
- 50:05Speaker 5: Yes.
- 50:05Speaker 1: And also... not to cast any aspersions on your father,
- 50:13Speaker 1: but I'm going to need to see a box score
- 50:16Speaker 1: about this 20 that your father supposedly got on six
- 50:20Speaker 1: foot eight Charles Oakley. Like, I don't know how tall
- 50:22Speaker 1: your dad is, right? Like I'm just saying, but I
- 50:24Speaker 1: would like to, my brother's got a friend that held
- 50:27Speaker 1: Michael Jordan to 14 in college once. And my brother
- 50:31Speaker 1: cast the aspersions, but we looked it up. He held
- 50:34Speaker 1: him to 14. Now, granted, it was before the shot clock,
- 50:37Speaker 1: but he did hold him to 14.
- 50:39Speaker 3: I would love to see that like shot chart of
- 50:42Speaker 3: Charles Oakley. It's just dots right around that. Yes.
- 50:45Speaker 1: Yes. I also don't imagine, by the way, that Charles
- 50:48Speaker 1: Oakley just let you get 20. Right. Like I especially
- 50:52Speaker 1: with the what the rules were 40 years ago. That
- 50:55Speaker 1: seems like clothesline time. I'd also like to take a
- 50:58Speaker 1: moment as I went to the Charles Oakley wiki page
- 51:01Speaker 1: while we were here. to read a section that I
- 51:05Speaker 1: didn't know existed called Coaching and Businesses. On December 26, 2010,
- 51:11Speaker 1: Oakley was hired as an assistant coach for the Bobcats
- 51:15Speaker 1: under then head coach Paul Silas. And holy shit, I
- 51:18Speaker 1: wish I had known that that was going on at
- 51:20Speaker 1: the time. Oh, okay. He only stayed on that job
- 51:22Speaker 1: for about a year, but I can't think of anything
- 51:25Speaker 1: more terrifying than Charles Oakley and Paul Silas As the
- 51:30Speaker 1: same coaching staff, I bet they was on time every day.
- 51:34Speaker 3: Yeah, talk about a tag team.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Oh my God. Each of them could win a handicap match.
- 51:39Speaker 1: And both of them love to fight people. Love to.
- 51:43Speaker 1: Good gracious. But this is why I stopped on it.
- 51:46Speaker 1: Oakley owns several commercial enterprises, including Hair Solutions and Nails Etc.
- 51:52Speaker 1: in East Cleveland, Ohio. He's from Cleveland. Salon started with
- 51:55Speaker 1: seed money from Oakley and run by his sisters. It's
- 51:59Speaker 1: a good dude. Now, let's get to a couple of
- 52:02Speaker 1: things that seem a little bit more Oakley. Actually, before
- 52:05Speaker 1: we get there, read the steakhouse restaurants in Cleveland and
- 52:08Speaker 1: South Beach. And I got to say, I do not
- 52:10Speaker 1: think of Charles Oakley and the steakhouse in the same sentence, right? Like,
- 52:16Speaker 1: you want me to go there? I bet there's a
- 52:17Speaker 1: big old picture of Michael Jordan in the front. But
- 52:20Speaker 1: these are the businesses that seem more in line. All right.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Oakley's Car Wash, Oil Change, and Detail Centers in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn,
- 52:27Speaker 1: and Yonkers, New York. Yep. That sounds like Charles Oakley.
- 52:31Speaker 1: And Oakley's Wash House, a combination car wash and laundromat
- 52:36Speaker 1: founded in East Cleveland, Ohio, overseen by his sister Carolyn
- 52:41Speaker 1: and his mother, Corrine. And let me tell you something.
- 52:44Speaker 1: That's how you know that all them Oakleys is gangster.
- 52:46Speaker 1: Because you don't want to mess with whoever run the
- 52:49Speaker 1: car wash. And his sister's. Run the car wash. You
- 52:54Speaker 1: know who else runs a car wash, Ryan? I give
- 52:57Speaker 1: you a hint. We did not talk about him on
- 53:01Speaker 1: our last show.
- 53:02Speaker 5: Copy.
- 53:02Speaker 3: Got it. Got it.
- 53:05Speaker 1: You know who I'm talking about? Yes. That boy Harv.
- 53:10Speaker 3: Yes.
- 53:11Speaker 1: All right.
- 53:12Speaker 3: Here's our last voicemail.
- 53:14Speaker 4: Hey, Bo, this is TJ from Illinois. I was just
- 53:17Speaker 4: calling because I had a story not about me stealing,
- 53:21Speaker 4: but about a coworker of mine. When I was 18, 19,
- 53:23Speaker 4: I worked at a Taco Bell. And so basically the
- 53:28Speaker 4: scam that employees that would run, not me, but other
- 53:32Speaker 4: employees would run is, They would know the prices.
- 53:34Speaker 3: Of things on the menu.
- 53:35Speaker 4: And so when you pulled around, they would know the price.
- 53:39Speaker 4: So you'd go up there, tell them your food order.
- 53:42Speaker 4: They'd know what the price was. And then they would
- 53:43Speaker 4: say that the credit card machine was down. And then
- 53:46Speaker 4: they would just tell you what the amount was. You
- 53:48Speaker 4: had to pay cash. But what they were doing was
- 53:50Speaker 4: because they knew the cash, they'd never put it in
- 53:51Speaker 4: the computer and they would just keep the cash or whatever.
- 53:54Speaker 4: So this has been going on for a while. Everybody
- 53:55Speaker 4: kind of knew what was going on. That was an employee,
- 53:57Speaker 4: but not management. So it ended up being found out because,
- 54:01Speaker 4: of course, someone got mad at somebody else, and so
- 54:04Speaker 4: they told. And so when the big manager came to
- 54:06Speaker 4: town or whatever and was asking questions, of course, people
- 54:09Speaker 4: started snitching or whatever. So one of the people that
- 54:12Speaker 4: I worked with wanted to say their job, so they
- 54:14Speaker 4: told on the main person with this. And so when
- 54:17Speaker 4: it came time for her to ask about the thing,
- 54:19Speaker 4: of course, he denied it, denied it, denied it. So,
- 54:22Speaker 4: lo and behold, when she went to go and walk
- 54:26Speaker 4: around the thing, he reached in his pocket, a lot
- 54:28Speaker 4: of cash fell out. So, of course, that started all
- 54:30Speaker 4: the questions or whatever. And so she informed him, this gentleman, like,
- 54:34Speaker 4: you are no longer an employee of this Taco Bell.
- 54:37Speaker 4: So whenever he went through this, started hemming and hawing
- 54:40Speaker 4: and crying. And then so his final solution to keep
- 54:44Speaker 4: his job was to ask her, like, do you have
- 54:46Speaker 4: any way in your heart for forgiveness or whatever? And
- 54:49Speaker 4: so her answer to this story was, Well, you know,
- 54:53Speaker 4: I can't forgive you. Maybe when you get to the
- 54:55Speaker 4: pearly gates, the Lord will forgive you, but I have
- 54:58Speaker 4: no forgiveness for you. I just wanted to share that
- 55:00Speaker 4: with you or whatever. Been a long time listener. Appreciate
- 55:02Speaker 4: everything you do. Have a great day.
- 55:06Speaker 3: Amen.
- 55:06Speaker 1: I appreciate you, brother. And I have worked at a
- 55:11Speaker 1: place where a similar thing has happened. Ever heard the
- 55:16Speaker 1: phrase quit while you're ahead? I suggest another one in
- 55:22Speaker 1: that case, which is quit before you go to jail.
- 55:25Speaker 1: Can I keep my, nah, brother, that was a felony.
- 55:29Speaker 1: You needed to get up out of that Taco Bell pronto, right?
- 55:34Speaker 1: Anybody else that was engaged in those shenanigans needed to, like,
- 55:38Speaker 1: you could decide how bad you wanted that last check,
- 55:40Speaker 1: but you needed to not come back to work. Like,
- 55:42Speaker 1: I was, you was really chancing the fates on that one. Ooh,
- 55:46Speaker 1: especially in the credit card era, because you got to
- 55:47Speaker 1: have a whole different level of premeditation, you know what
- 55:50Speaker 1: I mean? Also, by the way, the best character on
- 55:53Speaker 1: The Simpsons might actually be all the stuff in the background. Right.
- 55:57Speaker 1: Have you seen the one? And this is actually New Simpsons.
- 56:00Speaker 1: And I saw somebody send a clip of it. It's
- 56:01Speaker 1: a sign in front of a store. It says, read, seed,
- 56:04Speaker 1: and feed. Formerly Chucks. Take your time and think about it,
- 56:10Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen. Write it down if you must. But
- 56:12Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, thanks so much for joining us here
