- 0:09Speaker 1: Hello, welcome to the Inside the Birds Week six NFL Preview.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I'm Jeff Mosher and We're gonna go around the NFL
- 0:18Speaker 1: and I'll preview all the games in Week six, which
- 0:21Speaker 1: of course started on Thursday night in a game that
- 0:24Speaker 1: I'm not gonna talk too much about. Obviously. We do
- 0:28Speaker 1: a lot of Eagles coverage on Inside the Birds, so
- 0:30Speaker 1: if you're looking for our analysis, we've got the postgame show,
- 0:34Speaker 1: We've got the Checko Daily postgame show, and most Eagles
- 0:38Speaker 1: fans already saw it. I'm just gonna say this before
- 0:41Speaker 1: we get started, seen a lot of comments, already woke
- 0:45Speaker 1: up to a whole lot of commentary on different platforms
- 0:51Speaker 1: that you know, the Eagles are now done and that
- 0:53Speaker 1: the offensive coordinator's gotta go. Everybody wants Kevin Patulo gone
- 0:57Speaker 1: fired and get somebody else in here, folks. It's Week six,
- 1:04Speaker 1: the Eagles are four and two, and the bigger point
- 1:07Speaker 1: of all of that is that the Eagles are not
- 1:10Speaker 1: going to fire a guy six weeks into the season.
- 1:13Speaker 1: That doesn't happen to teams that are coming off Super
- 1:16Speaker 1: Bowl wins that are four and two, that have one
- 1:20Speaker 1: of those two losses to a team that made the
- 1:22Speaker 1: playoffs last year? Did the Eagles have issues? Yes? Is
- 1:28Speaker 1: the offensive coordinator part of that? Yes? Does the offensive
- 1:32Speaker 1: coordinator have to do a good job, a better job?
- 1:34Speaker 1: Does he have his fingerprints on what's going on so far? Absolutely?
- 1:39Speaker 1: But before you just waste and I get the anger,
- 1:43Speaker 1: I get the frustration. I understand that this is the
- 1:47Speaker 1: second time that the Eagles have gone to a Super Bowl.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Next year had a different coordinator and hasn't looked the
- 1:53Speaker 1: same way. But before you go and rattle off something
- 1:57Speaker 1: like that's just gonna make you look wrong about the
- 2:02Speaker 1: fire this guy. Now, he's got to be replaced. They
- 2:04Speaker 1: can't go another game without this. Just think about it.
- 2:08Speaker 1: I mean, when's the last time he saw the coordinator
- 2:12Speaker 1: six weeks into the season on a winning team get fired.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I would have to be much worse than it is
- 2:20Speaker 1: right now. And when you advocate for somebody to get fired,
- 2:25Speaker 1: the first question I'm gonna ask is who are you promoting?
- 2:29Speaker 1: Who are you giving that job to? All right, are
- 2:33Speaker 1: you gonna hand that job over to the new quarterback
- 2:36Speaker 1: coach who just came over and was the head coach
- 2:40Speaker 1: of Bowling Green. Are you comfortable with that? You say
- 2:42Speaker 1: goodbye Kevin Tuloh, we're given the job the Scott Leffler.
- 2:45Speaker 1: He's been the quarterbacks coach. Guess what, the quarterback is
- 2:47Speaker 1: not playing so good. So I don't think you want
- 2:49Speaker 1: to give it to the quarterback coach. You want Nick
- 2:52Speaker 1: Sirianni to call the place because he called the plates
- 2:55Speaker 1: for about five minutes in his first year and realized
- 2:57Speaker 1: it wasn't for him. So before where you go out
- 3:00Speaker 1: there and try to come up with ridiculous reasons for
- 3:05Speaker 1: firing the offensive coordinator when there would be no logical
- 3:09Speaker 1: person to come in and call the plays. Think about it.
- 3:13Speaker 1: You got to give this thing some time and listen.
- 3:16Speaker 1: It may not work out. Maybe Kevin Petulo is not
- 3:18Speaker 1: ready for the job. Maybe he's not going to be
- 3:21Speaker 1: the guy in the long term. If that's the case,
- 3:23Speaker 1: it'll happen in the offseason. But remember also this, you're
- 3:28Speaker 1: only as good as the guys that are available. And
- 3:30Speaker 1: last year, before last year, when the Eagles decided to
- 3:34Speaker 1: clean house after the two thousand and twenty three season
- 3:38Speaker 1: with their coordinators, they were fortunate that Kellen Moore was available.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Kellen Moore was an experienced play caller. He was somebody
- 3:49Speaker 1: who had not only years of play calling experience, but
- 3:52Speaker 1: for different teams, different quarterbacks, and he had also produced
- 3:57Speaker 1: some number one offenses. So it made a whole lot
- 3:59Speaker 1: of sense for the Eagles to be able to hire
- 4:03Speaker 1: Kellen Moore at that time. This past offseason, I know
- 4:08Speaker 1: that everybody said that they were worried about Patullo and
- 4:11Speaker 1: what do you do? But who was out there? You
- 4:15Speaker 1: got to look at the coaches that were fired. Do
- 4:17Speaker 1: you want them all of a sudden back to you know,
- 4:19Speaker 1: Doug Peterson? Do you want Doug Peterson coming in as
- 4:23Speaker 1: your offensive coordinator? That might have been a little bit awkward.
- 4:26Speaker 1: So you want chip Kelly? Chip Kelly got an offensive
- 4:29Speaker 1: coordinator job in the NFL with the Raiders. How's that
- 4:31Speaker 1: working out for the Raiders? Right now? Right? How would
- 4:34Speaker 1: that have worked out if chip Kelly came back as
- 4:36Speaker 1: the Eagles offensive coordinator. Gotta have a plan. You can't
- 4:39Speaker 1: just fire people out of anger, all right. You can't
- 4:42Speaker 1: just fire people out of two weeks. Even though we
- 4:46Speaker 1: know that the Eagles pass offense and rush offense has
- 4:50Speaker 1: not worked correctly the right way for six weeks, but
- 4:55Speaker 1: it has not also been a total disaster. This offense
- 4:59Speaker 1: has functioned, the pass offense, especially within games, fairly well.
- 5:05Speaker 1: So I'm not trying to sell you a bill of goods.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I'm not trying to tell you everything's gonna be fine.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I'm not trying to tell you anything other than that
- 5:13Speaker 1: Kevin Petula is not gonna get fired within the next
- 5:16Speaker 1: week or two, that they're gonna have to figure some
- 5:18Speaker 1: things out. He's gonna get that time. We'll see what
- 5:21Speaker 1: happens after the year. But it's not happening, then he's
- 5:26Speaker 1: gonna get fired. And whenever someone runs to YouTube or
- 5:32Speaker 1: or Twitter or x or Facebook, it says Kevin Petulo
- 5:34Speaker 1: has got to go get him out of here. Now,
- 5:37Speaker 1: I wonder what rationale are you? How are you making
- 5:42Speaker 1: the team better by doing that? Who are you putting
- 5:45Speaker 1: in this person's place to all of a sudden make
- 5:49Speaker 1: you feel comfortable with the offensive? By the way, it's
- 5:53Speaker 1: not all his fault, you know, Kellen Moore. We have
- 5:57Speaker 1: to have a serious conversation about Kellen Moore and the
- 6:02Speaker 1: job the results that he did last year as the
- 6:07Speaker 1: Eagles offensive coordinator, because I've already seen Ah Man, do
- 6:11Speaker 1: I miss Kellen Moore? Well, you know, do you know
- 6:13Speaker 1: what the offense ranked under Kellen Moore last year, specifically
- 6:17Speaker 1: the pass offense. It was not very good, all right.
- 6:20Speaker 1: The reason why Kellen Moore's offense looked good last year
- 6:25Speaker 1: was because Saquon Barkley had an unbelievable year and the
- 6:28Speaker 1: offensive line played great and stayed healthy. Well, right now,
- 6:32Speaker 1: your offensive line is not healthy and that is prohibiting
- 6:35Speaker 1: it from playing great, and your running game is suffering
- 6:39Speaker 1: because of it. Now, I'm not saying it couldn't be better.
- 6:43Speaker 1: And you're hearing guys talk about predictability and that's got
- 6:45Speaker 1: to be worked on. But that is the biggest reason,
- 6:48Speaker 1: more than anything, that the Eagles offense as a whole
- 6:52Speaker 1: isn't performing well. And Kellen Moore came to the Eagles
- 6:56Speaker 1: last year, and I think we all remember the first
- 6:59Speaker 1: four or five weeks of the season, was not running
- 7:03Speaker 1: his he was trying to run his style of offense,
- 7:06Speaker 1: had a lot of under center, a lot of motion,
- 7:08Speaker 1: and he wind up scrapping a lot of that. You
- 7:11Speaker 1: have to remember this, folks. The Eagles offense is basically
- 7:14Speaker 1: the same conceptually that it has been under several different
- 7:19Speaker 1: coordinators for the last four or five years, and I
- 7:22Speaker 1: just don't think we should rewrite history and say Kellen
- 7:26Speaker 1: Moore came in here and did an amazing job as
- 7:29Speaker 1: an offensive coordinator because the Eagles won the Super Bowl,
- 7:32Speaker 1: all right, he did an amazing job being the coordinator
- 7:36Speaker 1: when he had a great offensive line and Howie Roseman
- 7:38Speaker 1: signed Sakwon Barkley, and that enabled the Eagles to have
- 7:43Speaker 1: the best running game in the NFL, best offensive line
- 7:46Speaker 1: in the NFL. But as a total offense, you know,
- 7:50Speaker 1: they were eighth, which is great, I mean, which is good,
- 7:55Speaker 1: not great. They were eighth, Okay. As a passing offense,
- 7:58Speaker 1: they were twenty ninth. They averaged one hundred and eighty
- 8:03Speaker 1: eight yards per game. So are they behind that night now? Absolutely,
- 8:07Speaker 1: they're still not. They're not even at that right now.
- 8:10Speaker 1: They're more about one hundred and eighty okay, so they're well,
- 8:14Speaker 1: they're off the pace, but by eight yards. I just
- 8:16Speaker 1: don't want people to, you know, yearn for something that
- 8:20Speaker 1: didn't really exist. The idea that Kellen Moore came in
- 8:24Speaker 1: and transformed the offense is just not true, okay. And
- 8:29Speaker 1: two things can be true at one time. One Kellen
- 8:32Speaker 1: Moore came in and won a Super Bowl as a
- 8:36Speaker 1: coordinator without really changing a whole lot of the offense.
- 8:41Speaker 1: But he might have been a good a better play
- 8:43Speaker 1: caller as far as they're all calling the same playbook.
- 8:47Speaker 1: But he may have just been better than Kevin Bittulo
- 8:51Speaker 1: at sequencing those plays. And you know, having some ideas
- 8:54Speaker 1: to add to when to run the play is as
- 8:57Speaker 1: important as the play that you're running. So maybe he
- 9:01Speaker 1: had a better feel for that. But we can't rewrite
- 9:03Speaker 1: history and act like Kellen Moore came in here and
- 9:06Speaker 1: was running some kind of offense that Kevin Petulo is
- 9:09Speaker 1: not capable of doing. It's not like that. So the
- 9:13Speaker 1: Eagles have a lot of work to do. Remember how
- 9:16Speaker 1: you felt about them last year when they were two
- 9:18Speaker 1: and two and this guy was falling. I'm not ready
- 9:21Speaker 1: to give up on the idea that this team is
- 9:24Speaker 1: as you know, bad team or I'm not ready to
- 9:27Speaker 1: get on board, but the idea that this team isn't
- 9:29Speaker 1: a super Bowl team anymore can't be good. Still have
- 9:31Speaker 1: a lot of talent. They just obviously have to figure
- 9:34Speaker 1: some things out. I would say you don't have to
- 9:37Speaker 1: fully believe that they will, but I do believe they
- 9:40Speaker 1: have earned the benefit of the doubt to at least
- 9:44Speaker 1: make you think that they can figure some things out.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I don't think they have to make wholesale, radical offensive
- 9:52Speaker 1: concept changes. I think they have to be obviously less predictable,
- 9:58Speaker 1: and that means maybe doing things a little bit differently
- 10:01Speaker 1: than they've done in the past. But if you really
- 10:04Speaker 1: want to break it down to what they need to do,
- 10:06Speaker 1: they have to get the run game back to where
- 10:10Speaker 1: it was last year or close to where it was
- 10:13Speaker 1: last year. That to me is the biggest difference, and
- 10:16Speaker 1: I do believe if they do and when they do
- 10:19Speaker 1: do that, the passing game will fall into place. The
- 10:22Speaker 1: defense will be better because the offense will have more
- 10:25Speaker 1: time and possession, more ball control, and the defense will
- 10:30Speaker 1: be able to benefit from that. But right now, it's
- 10:32Speaker 1: just a big cluster, you know what. And that's why
- 10:34Speaker 1: they've lost to in a row, and that's why they
- 10:36Speaker 1: go and lose to a one and four Giants team
- 10:39Speaker 1: in a game that they weren't frankly very competitive. But
- 10:42Speaker 1: we will see. They got the mini by here and
- 10:45Speaker 1: then they've got the Vikings next Sunday. We have more
- 10:49Speaker 1: bye weeks again. This week Minnesota, the Vikings will be
- 10:52Speaker 1: coming off the buy when they play the Eagles next Sunday,
- 10:55Speaker 1: and then the Houston Texans also on the buy as well. Hey,
- 11:00Speaker 1: you know that one guy in the group chat who
- 11:02Speaker 1: hit a five leg parlay week one and he wouldn't
- 11:05Speaker 1: shut up about it for the rest of the season.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Sounds like kaplan, right, Yeah, yeah, it could be him,
- 11:10Speaker 1: It could be you, and we would all want to
- 11:14Speaker 1: be you. My bookie makes it stupid easy to get
- 11:18Speaker 1: in on the action, whether it's college ball, NFL Super
- 11:22Speaker 1: Contest and Survivor pools. All the spreads, player props and
- 11:26Speaker 1: in game lines that you could want, all under one roof.
- 11:31Speaker 1: What more could you want than that?
- 11:33Speaker 2: If you're new to my Bookie, use our code the
- 11:38Speaker 2: Birds THG b IRDs the Birds use the code, and
- 11:44Speaker 2: any bet you choose up to five hundred.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Dollars is fully covered. Make your play and if it
- 11:50Speaker 1: doesn't hit, you get it right back when you opt
- 11:53Speaker 1: in using your bet back bonus token. There is no
- 11:57Speaker 1: better time to jump in right now.
- 12:00Speaker 2: No better place to play football is back.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Let's make some money with my bookie. Let us look
- 12:07Speaker 1: at the early games now there's obviously it's another week
- 12:11Speaker 1: of a game in London, so you'll be able to
- 12:14Speaker 1: wake up early if you live on the East coast,
- 12:15Speaker 1: nine thirty am even earlier, I guess if you live
- 12:19Speaker 1: in Central or West Coast, but nine thirty am for
- 12:22Speaker 1: those of us on the East coast, we'll be able
- 12:24Speaker 1: to see the Broncos at the Jets. The Broncos are
- 12:29Speaker 1: six and a half point favorites. Forty three and a
- 12:32Speaker 1: half is the over under. The Jets have been terrible defensively,
- 12:37Speaker 1: there's no reason to think that the Broncos will not be,
- 12:42Speaker 1: you know, victorious in this game. The Jets, Aaron Glenn
- 12:46Speaker 1: has been a disappointment. I gotta say I didn't it's
- 12:50Speaker 1: and it's not just the record, Okay, I didn't think
- 12:53Speaker 1: the Jets were gonna be very good this year. Usually
- 12:56Speaker 1: when you're cleaning house, bringing in a new GM, bringing
- 12:59Speaker 1: in a new code coach, bringing in new coordinators, and
- 13:02Speaker 1: you're not a very talented team to begin with, then
- 13:04Speaker 1: you're gonna take a lot of losses earlier in the year,
- 13:07Speaker 1: and they're doing that. I just thought that they would
- 13:10Speaker 1: be a a little more competitive and be a little
- 13:14Speaker 1: better on defense, considering they have some pretty good defensive
- 13:18Speaker 1: players and Aaron Glenn's a defensive coach. But here's there.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Five games so far, they've given up thirty four points,
- 13:25Speaker 1: thirty points, twenty nine points, twenty seven points at the Dolphins,
- 13:29Speaker 1: and then thirty seven to the Dallas Cowboys. So Denver's
- 13:33Speaker 1: gonna come in there. They're gonna run the ball with Harvey,
- 13:37Speaker 1: They're gonna run the ball with Dobbins. They're gonna throw
- 13:39Speaker 1: the ball to Courtland Sutton, who had a great game
- 13:41Speaker 1: second half against the Eagles, and they should be able
- 13:44Speaker 1: to take control. Defensively. The Broncos are very, very good,
- 13:49Speaker 1: and I do not expect Justin Fields, who's had some
- 13:53Speaker 1: pretty good moments this year, to really do much. They
- 13:56Speaker 1: need to run the ball the Jets, and I don't
- 13:59Speaker 1: think it will be able to run the ball against
- 14:01Speaker 1: this very very good Broncos defensive front. Arizona at Indianapolis
- 14:08Speaker 1: sounds like Kyler Murray is going to be a game
- 14:10Speaker 1: time decision. I don't think it matters much. I think
- 14:13Speaker 1: that that organization right now is at a real low
- 14:17Speaker 1: point in the Jonathan Gannon era. You know, they started
- 14:20Speaker 1: off two and zero, lost a heartbreaker to the forty
- 14:23Speaker 1: nine ers, lost you know, they made a comeback against
- 14:26Speaker 1: the Seahawks, lost on a field goal, and then just
- 14:29Speaker 1: completely blew it against the Titans last Sunday. The Titans
- 14:33Speaker 1: win that game for the first win of the year. Obviously,
- 14:39Speaker 1: you know, they get the field goal at the buzzer
- 14:41Speaker 1: to win it, which is now the Cardinals losing two
- 14:44Speaker 1: of their last three in that fashion. Everybody saw the
- 14:49Speaker 1: running back to Mercado and Gannon on the sideline and
- 14:52Speaker 1: just you know, Murray threw for two hundred and twenty
- 14:54Speaker 1: yards no touchdowns. Though I said last week, sometimes it
- 14:57Speaker 1: feels like it's Murray versus a Levin out there because
- 15:01Speaker 1: he just doesn't get much help from his playmakers. Some
- 15:04Speaker 1: of that is on him, and some of that is
- 15:06Speaker 1: just on what do you have after Marvin Harrison and
- 15:09Speaker 1: Trey McBride. I mean they're both very McBride's very good.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Harrison isn't what he's supposed to have been. The offensive
- 15:18Speaker 1: line doesn't do much for me. It's not terrible, it's
- 15:21Speaker 1: not great, and it's just a team that just not
- 15:26Speaker 1: very good. You know, they committed penalties, Kate. They turned
- 15:30Speaker 1: the ball over three times again. He saw the big
- 15:33Speaker 1: turnover by de Mercado and because of that, the Arizona
- 15:37Speaker 1: Cardinals are in a bad way and they're going into
- 15:40Speaker 1: the Dome to play in Indianapolis. Team that's favored by
- 15:42Speaker 1: six and a half. Wouldn't surprise me if the Colts
- 15:45Speaker 1: won by even more than that. The Colts have just
- 15:47Speaker 1: been a very, very impressive team so far this year.
- 15:53Speaker 1: You could make the argument that they should be undefeated.
- 15:57Speaker 1: You know, they lost the game two weeks ago because
- 16:00Speaker 1: their receiver A d Mitchell May you know, had a
- 16:03Speaker 1: holding on one touchdown and fumbled going into the Denzel
- 16:06Speaker 1: one another they lose by seven to the Rams. If
- 16:09Speaker 1: they win that game, which they very easily could have done,
- 16:12Speaker 1: they'd be five to zero. And the way the Colts
- 16:15Speaker 1: will be rolling, So you gotta like what the cults
- 16:17Speaker 1: are doing. I think I wrote this on Philly Voice.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I very now look forward in my power rankings. I
- 16:23Speaker 1: wrote this look forward and it's going to be a
- 16:26Speaker 1: while but for that first Colts Jaguars AFC South game,
- 16:30Speaker 1: and that doesn't take place until week fourteen, December seventh.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Until then, the Colts have really winnable games, starting with
- 16:39Speaker 1: this Cardinals game. Two weeks they got the Chargers. We'll
- 16:41Speaker 1: see if the Chargers are healthy or not, then they
- 16:43Speaker 1: get the Titans, after that, then Steelers and Falcons. So
- 16:48Speaker 1: these are the way they're playing. They pretty much can
- 16:50Speaker 1: beat anybody, and I think that they're going to be
- 16:52Speaker 1: a force in the AFC. By the way, you look
- 16:55Speaker 1: at the AFC right now, Baltimore is not what it is.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Baltimore's really strongruggling Chiefs, really struggling Chargers have come back
- 17:04Speaker 1: to Earth. You look at the AFC and you're you're
- 17:07Speaker 1: looking and you're saying, it looks like the best teams
- 17:11Speaker 1: right now in the AFC are the Colts and the Jaguars.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I don't recognize this AFC at the moment.
- 17:20Speaker 1: That is incredible. And you know, if you want to
- 17:23Speaker 1: pump up Denver now because of their win over the
- 17:27Speaker 1: Eagles and how and they have some close losses, okay,
- 17:30Speaker 1: but the point is this is not the AFC, everybody.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I mean, the Bills look, trust me, the Bills look good,
- 17:36Speaker 1: but they had a loss to New England, so they
- 17:38Speaker 1: now look human. And you're looking at the AFC and saying, man,
- 17:42Speaker 1: the Colts might be the most impressive team in the
- 17:45Speaker 1: conference who had that on their two thousand and twenty
- 17:48Speaker 1: five NFL BINGO card certainly not me, all right. The
- 17:53Speaker 1: Chargers are in Miami. The Chargers are three and a
- 17:56Speaker 1: half point favorites. This is a very very dangerous game
- 18:00Speaker 1: for the Chargers. Why is that? Well, Joel Alt is out.
- 18:05Speaker 1: These are left tackle. He was replacing Rashaun Slater, their
- 18:09Speaker 1: left tackle who's been out for the year and will
- 18:11Speaker 1: not play. So now the coal the Chargers are without
- 18:14Speaker 1: their offensive tackles, both of them very good. And O'marian Hampton,
- 18:19Speaker 1: their great rookie running back who was really starting to
- 18:21Speaker 1: pick it up, is on. I believe he's on IR
- 18:25Speaker 1: with an ankle injury, so he's definitely not gonna play.
- 18:29Speaker 1: I get worried about Justin Herbert when I hear that
- 18:34Speaker 1: the Chargers have injuries on their offensive line, because they
- 18:36Speaker 1: have another alignment. Hurt Pimpkins too, and their running game
- 18:41Speaker 1: is going to consist of Hassan Haskins and maybe Kamani Vidal.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Justin Herbert's been playing great, but he's a guy who
- 18:47Speaker 1: gets hit a whole lot when he does not have
- 18:50Speaker 1: his protection and when he doesn't have a great running game.
- 18:52Speaker 1: And you know, I'm not sure that the Dolphins, the
- 18:56Speaker 1: way they play defense, have enough studs to really hit
- 19:00Speaker 1: Herbert around. But I'm really talking more long term than
- 19:03Speaker 1: short term. But I also think though, that when the
- 19:06Speaker 1: Chargers don't have their identity two offensive three linemen and
- 19:11Speaker 1: a running back, they become a different team. You know,
- 19:15Speaker 1: obviously lost to the Giants, then they came home and
- 19:18Speaker 1: they lost badly to the Commanders. The Dolphins are a
- 19:23Speaker 1: team that shouldn't theoretically threaten them as much as the Commanders.
- 19:29Speaker 1: But if they don't have their identity we just talked
- 19:32Speaker 1: about with the Eagles, when they're not there, don't have
- 19:34Speaker 1: their identity, they are a different kind of team. And
- 19:38Speaker 1: I'm just saying this game i'd stay away from from
- 19:41Speaker 1: a betting angle. I know the Dolphins are a mess.
- 19:44Speaker 1: They're a terrible team. They don't play any defense whatsoever.
- 19:48Speaker 1: You know, they just lost to a bad Carolina Panthers team.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Their only win is over a bad Jets team, and
- 19:55Speaker 1: even that was a little bit too close for comfort. Honestly,
- 19:58Speaker 1: the Dolphins should lose this game. But the injuries for
- 20:02Speaker 1: the Chargers are giving me pause right now. And if
- 20:05Speaker 1: you're the Chargers, you really got to figure out a
- 20:08Speaker 1: way to win this one. You want to figure out
- 20:09Speaker 1: a way because you got the Colts up next after that.
- 20:12Speaker 1: You don't want to have a three game losing streak
- 20:14Speaker 1: going into the Colts. You know you have the Vikings
- 20:17Speaker 1: and Titans and Steelers and then Jaguars after that. But
- 20:21Speaker 1: you gotta have your identity. If you're the Chargers, you're
- 20:23Speaker 1: Jim Harbaugh team. You're a Greg Roman offense. You want
- 20:26Speaker 1: to pound the rock. You don't have a great guy
- 20:29Speaker 1: without without without Omarion, without n Algie Harris. Who are
- 20:32Speaker 1: you pounding the rock with? Without three offensive linemen? How
- 20:36Speaker 1: are you supporting your quarterback? So if you can't tell,
- 20:39Speaker 1: I'm a little worried about the Chargers both this week
- 20:41Speaker 1: and into the future. Next one o'clock game, you got
- 20:45Speaker 1: the Patriots at the Saints. Hey credit both of these teams,
- 20:49Speaker 1: all right? You know what? The Patriots went into Foxboro.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I said it on this show last week. I said,
- 20:55Speaker 1: I'm not winning too Foxborough. They went into Buffalo and
- 20:58Speaker 1: I said, listen, you've been losing for so long and
- 21:02Speaker 1: you finally got a quarterback, Drake May who's playing well.
- 21:05Speaker 1: These are the get You're on prime time for the
- 21:08Speaker 1: first time in a very long time. These are the
- 21:11Speaker 1: games where you have to show up. I didn't think
- 21:14Speaker 1: the Patriots had to win. I felt they had to
- 21:16Speaker 1: show up, be representative, send a statement to Buffalo that
- 21:21Speaker 1: this division is gonna finally have some other team that
- 21:25Speaker 1: can challenge the Bills, not just Bills having six easy victories. Well,
- 21:31Speaker 1: guess what. Not only did they be representative, but they
- 21:34Speaker 1: went into Buffalo and came out with the twenty three
- 21:37Speaker 1: to twenty win. Drake May, if you haven't seen him
- 21:40Speaker 1: play yet, is an exciting young talent. He's gonna make
- 21:43Speaker 1: a couple of mistakes, still just year two, but he's
- 21:46Speaker 1: got more weapons around him. Diggs is coming on. They're
- 21:50Speaker 1: still waiting for Trevon Henderson, still waiting for that running
- 21:52Speaker 1: game to either be productive or stop turning the ball over.
- 21:56Speaker 1: But May is a big part of what they do.
- 21:59Speaker 1: He move the change with his legs. He has a
- 22:01Speaker 1: great arm, throwing the ball to Digs, throwing the ball
- 22:05Speaker 1: to Hunter Henry. They're playing better defense. I like what
- 22:08Speaker 1: I've seen from this Buffalo Bill squad. I'm sorry, from
- 22:12Speaker 1: this New England Patriots squad. And I like the fact
- 22:16Speaker 1: that now when you look at the AFC East. You
- 22:18Speaker 1: might say, hey, Buffalo can't just win by showing up
- 22:22Speaker 1: against all three of these teams. You might be able
- 22:24Speaker 1: to do it against the Jets and Dolphins, but at
- 22:26Speaker 1: least against the Patriots, They're coming for you, and that
- 22:29Speaker 1: makes the game fun, makes a division a little more fun.
- 22:33Speaker 1: So good job by the Patriots. They are three and
- 22:35Speaker 1: a half point favorites to a Saints team that amazingly
- 22:40Speaker 1: was down to the Giants came back and won that
- 22:44Speaker 1: game kind of big. I mean they were they withstood
- 22:48Speaker 1: the early Giants barrage. You know, the Giants were coming
- 22:51Speaker 1: off that win against the Chargers, and then they went
- 22:53Speaker 1: up seven to nothing and they have a fourteen to
- 22:55Speaker 1: three lead. But gradually the Saints chipped away and they scored,
- 23:01Speaker 1: and then they scored again with Shaheed getting a big touchdown,
- 23:04Speaker 1: then a couple of field goals. Next thing you know,
- 23:05Speaker 1: they're winning twenty six to fourteen for their first win
- 23:09Speaker 1: of the year. Now, part of that was they're playing
- 23:13Speaker 1: a Giants team that's going to be up and down
- 23:15Speaker 1: and up and down with Jackson, Dart and Scataboo. But
- 23:19Speaker 1: they were home. The Saints always played better at home
- 23:23Speaker 1: than they do on the road, the Dome gives them
- 23:24Speaker 1: a huge advantage, and it might give them a little
- 23:26Speaker 1: bit of an advantage against this Patriots team which is
- 23:29Speaker 1: coming off a huge win. How often do we see
- 23:32Speaker 1: these young upcoming teams get themselves a big win like
- 23:36Speaker 1: they got in Buffalo, then they go on the road
- 23:39Speaker 1: and they completely go in the tank. So I would
- 23:41Speaker 1: expect this game to kind of have a little flavor
- 23:44Speaker 1: to it, even though the Saints are not a very
- 23:46Speaker 1: good team, but I like where New England's going and
- 23:49Speaker 1: if they can come out of this game with a win,
- 23:51Speaker 1: You're starting to look at the Patriots like that team
- 23:54Speaker 1: that might be able to make a little bit noise,
- 23:56Speaker 1: if not this year, but in the future. You're liking
- 23:59Speaker 1: the direction and where they're going. Then kind of takes
- 24:02Speaker 1: the stink away from that season opening loss that they
- 24:05Speaker 1: had to the Raiders and then that very close loss
- 24:07Speaker 1: that they had at home to the Steelers. All Right,
- 24:11Speaker 1: Dallas at Carolina. Folks, if you like points, if you
- 24:16Speaker 1: like to see the ball in the air or just
- 24:18Speaker 1: running backs into the end zone, well this is the
- 24:21Speaker 1: game for you. This is a game between Cowboys team
- 24:26Speaker 1: that has functioned very well offensively without Ceedee Lamb for
- 24:31Speaker 1: a few weeks and doesn't sound like he'll definitively be back.
- 24:35Speaker 1: We'll see if he is. That's great, But they just
- 24:38Speaker 1: scored thirty seven against the Jets. They put forty on
- 24:42Speaker 1: a good Green Bay team. I don't know what happened
- 24:45Speaker 1: in that Bears game three in Week three when they
- 24:48Speaker 1: went into Chicago and only scored fourteen points. But before
- 24:51Speaker 1: that they had scored forty against the Giants in that
- 24:54Speaker 1: you know, back and forth game. This team can score
- 24:57Speaker 1: and Dak is coming on and he's he's been eight.
- 25:00Speaker 1: The fact that he has been able to throw the
- 25:03Speaker 1: ball without Ceedee Lamb to not only pick in but
- 25:06Speaker 1: you know, Florinoy got into it. Jake Ferguson, I had
- 25:09Speaker 1: a feeling was going to really pick it up while
- 25:13Speaker 1: Ceedee Lamb is out. Dak loves his tight ends. He
- 25:16Speaker 1: loves the down the alley throws and the seams, and
- 25:19Speaker 1: he's very good at it. And you gotta give Brian
- 25:21Speaker 1: Schottenheimer a lot of credit. I think their offense is
- 25:25Speaker 1: clicking a whole lot more than it ever than it
- 25:28Speaker 1: has under McCarthy. Dak is spreading the ball around and
- 25:32Speaker 1: let's face it, he's about to face a Carolina Panthers
- 25:35Speaker 1: team that is not very good. They're sporadic, they're strange.
- 25:39Speaker 1: They just barely beat the Dolphins because their backup running
- 25:44Speaker 1: back Rico dowdele went berserk in place of Tuba Hubbard
- 25:50Speaker 1: with two hundred and six rushing yards and twenty eight
- 25:54Speaker 1: more in the air. I mean, the guy almost had
- 25:56Speaker 1: two hundred and fifty yards by himself, and he's gonna
- 25:59Speaker 1: start again because it sounds like Jewba Hubbard is going
- 26:03Speaker 1: to be out. But it took that for them to
- 26:05Speaker 1: beat a really bad Dolphins team. So I like this
- 26:09Speaker 1: game for Dallas. I do think Carolina will be able
- 26:12Speaker 1: to move the ball. Concern how Bryce Young has played
- 26:16Speaker 1: throughout the first five weeks of the season really been
- 26:21Speaker 1: up and down. I thought they've Canalis after last year
- 26:25Speaker 1: kind of reviving him would be able to take a
- 26:28Speaker 1: second step. They don't have a bunch of great weapons.
- 26:31Speaker 1: I get that Tech McMillan's off to a decent start.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Lagette has given them very little and we had a
- 26:36Speaker 1: touchdown against the Dolphins. But yeah, it's fair to say
- 26:39Speaker 1: they don't have a ton of weaponry. But if they
- 26:43Speaker 1: can rush for two hundred and six yards. Their offensive
- 26:45Speaker 1: line must be doing something decently. I know they were
- 26:50Speaker 1: motens banged up, but I'm thinking this game is going
- 26:54Speaker 1: to be something like, you know, the Cowboys are in
- 26:56Speaker 1: the upper thirties and the Panthers may get into the
- 26:59Speaker 1: upper twenty and we'll see the Cowboys are three and
- 27:04Speaker 1: a half point favorites, and hey, the Cowboys win the game,
- 27:08Speaker 1: they'll be I mean, they got this tie that might
- 27:12Speaker 1: factor into their advantage because it's not a loss when
- 27:14Speaker 1: it comes down to the end of the year and
- 27:17Speaker 1: maybe having a similar record as another team, but it'll
- 27:21Speaker 1: be a Cowboys team that, if they win this game,
- 27:24Speaker 1: will be three to one to one in their last
- 27:26Speaker 1: five and then that sets up a very very interesting
- 27:30Speaker 1: Week seven matchup for them against the Washington Commanders. Seattle
- 27:37Speaker 1: at Jacksonville. Folks, if you have not seen the Seahawks play,
- 27:42Speaker 1: and I get it, they just they lost at home
- 27:44Speaker 1: to Tampa. It was a back and forth game. It
- 27:47Speaker 1: was a great game. It was a game between two
- 27:50Speaker 1: defenses that have been playing very well, but the quarterbacks
- 27:54Speaker 1: for both teams have been playing better, and even in
- 27:58Speaker 1: a loss, Sam Arnold played extraordinarily well, he is on
- 28:03Speaker 1: some kind of here right now. He's got the highest
- 28:07Speaker 1: yards per attempt in the league. He is his quarterback
- 28:11Speaker 1: rating is over one hundred and twenty. I believe he
- 28:15Speaker 1: is connecting with Jackson Dart, Jackson Dart, He's connecting with
- 28:20Speaker 1: Jackson Smith and Jigba six to ten times a game.
- 28:24Speaker 1: That has become one of the premier connections in the NFL.
- 28:28Speaker 1: And to be fair, he's doing it in a new team,
- 28:32Speaker 1: new offensive coordinator, new system. So everyone who thought that
- 28:36Speaker 1: Sam Darnold was simply a product of the Kevin O'Connell
- 28:39Speaker 1: system last year in Minnesota is probably pretty surprised right now,
- 28:43Speaker 1: because I gotta say he had way better weaponry in
- 28:47Speaker 1: Minnesota than he does in Seattle. Smith and Jigma is
- 28:50Speaker 1: a very good receiver, could be top ten after that.
- 28:53Speaker 1: There's no Tyler Lockett, right, There's no tight end that
- 28:59Speaker 1: is named Kittle or Kelsey or Goddard. It's Barner, Okay,
- 29:03Speaker 1: there's no dk Metcalf. He was traded. So he's got
- 29:06Speaker 1: Smith and Jigba and they have a good running game.
- 29:09Speaker 1: But for him to be completing seventy percent of his
- 29:12Speaker 1: passes and playing this well, thirty five points against the Bucks,
- 29:17Speaker 1: forty four against the Saints couple of weeks ago, thirty
- 29:19Speaker 1: one against the Steelers on the road in Pittsburgh. Sam
- 29:23Speaker 1: Darnold's playing really, really well. And now they go face
- 29:27Speaker 1: a Jacksonville Jaguar team that is coming off the ultimate high.
- 29:31Speaker 1: They beat the Chiefs, which I'm you know, they willed
- 29:35Speaker 1: themselves to win. Trevor Lawrence had the strangest, ugliest, most
- 29:39Speaker 1: beautiful touchdown to win the game that you'll ever see
- 29:42Speaker 1: in your life. The guy falls down, gets up, stumbles,
- 29:45Speaker 1: falls forward, and the next thing you know, he's in
- 29:47Speaker 1: the end zone for the game winning touchdown that puts
- 29:50Speaker 1: the Jaguars at four and one. And these are not
- 29:55Speaker 1: bad wins, all right. They beat the Chiefs, beat the
- 29:58Speaker 1: forty nine ers in San Francisco. The week before, they
- 30:01Speaker 1: beat the Texans seventeen to ten. The Texans are a
- 30:04Speaker 1: playoff team from last year. I'm not saying they got
- 30:07Speaker 1: wins over juggernaut teams, but I didn't think Jacksonville was
- 30:11Speaker 1: gonna be very good going into the year, and I
- 30:13Speaker 1: still think offensively they leave a lot to be desired,
- 30:18Speaker 1: but they're coming along. They're getting this connection between Lawrence
- 30:23Speaker 1: and Brian Thomas. It's starting to come. It's growing. Now
- 30:30Speaker 1: they'll be without Brenton Strange tight end. He got hurt
- 30:33Speaker 1: and he's been a big part of their offense, so
- 30:35Speaker 1: that's gonna hurt them. And this should be a really
- 30:39Speaker 1: good game. Seattle really kind of needs to bounce back
- 30:42Speaker 1: because as good as Donald has played, as nice as
- 30:45Speaker 1: the offenses has been, every game they play the last
- 30:49Speaker 1: two weeks have been very close. You know, they only
- 30:51Speaker 1: beat they were up big on the Cardinals, the Cardinals
- 30:53Speaker 1: came back, they won the game on a last minute
- 30:55Speaker 1: second field goal, and then that Buccaneers game was just
- 30:58Speaker 1: a shootout, back and forth and back and forth. And
- 31:01Speaker 1: it's not the Offensi's fault, but the defense could not
- 31:04Speaker 1: stop Baker Mayfield, who's playing at a really high level.
- 31:08Speaker 1: I don't think Lawrence is playing at the level that
- 31:11Speaker 1: Mayfield has played right now. So if I'm the Jaguars,
- 31:15Speaker 1: I can't be too full of myselves at four and
- 31:18Speaker 1: one and coming off a win against the Chiefs. Gotta
- 31:21Speaker 1: stay focused, gotta stay the line. And it is not
- 31:25Speaker 1: a shock to me at all though that the Seahawks
- 31:27Speaker 1: are one and a half point favorites going into this game.
- 31:30Speaker 1: This should be a heck of a game between two
- 31:32Speaker 1: teams that are off to really good starts. On the
- 31:36Speaker 1: flip side, you have the Baltimore Ravens, who are I
- 31:41Speaker 1: wonder when the last time this has happened. They are
- 31:43Speaker 1: seven and a half point underdogs at home against a
- 31:49Speaker 1: team from the West Coast traveling to them to play
- 31:51Speaker 1: a one o'clock game, the Los Angeles Rams. And look,
- 31:57Speaker 1: we all know that the Ravens are a very talented team.
- 32:00Speaker 1: They were having issues before all the injuries, all right.
- 32:04Speaker 1: They had issues in the opening game when they were
- 32:06Speaker 1: up big on Buffalo, turned the ball over and then
- 32:09Speaker 1: just hemorrhaged points in the fourth quarter and lost. All right.
- 32:12Speaker 1: They had issues when they played the Lions and lost
- 32:15Speaker 1: thirty eight to thirty. And then the injuries started to
- 32:17Speaker 1: really impact them. They lose to the Chiefs, and then
- 32:21Speaker 1: they just get embarrassed at home by a Houston Texans
- 32:26Speaker 1: team that scores forty four points. This is a Texans
- 32:31Speaker 1: team that was struggling to score twenty points throughout the year,
- 32:34Speaker 1: all right. This is a Texans team that scored its
- 32:37Speaker 1: forty fourth point of the year in its fourth game.
- 32:41Speaker 1: All right, if you go look at their first three games,
- 32:44Speaker 1: they only scored thirty eight points. They scored forty four
- 32:48Speaker 1: in this game against the Ravens. So that just shows
- 32:51Speaker 1: you how far of a fall it's been for the Ravens. Obviously,
- 32:55Speaker 1: that's going to happen when you don't have Lamar, when
- 32:57Speaker 1: you don't have half your defense. Defense wasn't playing very
- 33:00Speaker 1: good in the first spot. But the schedule makers do
- 33:03Speaker 1: them no favors as they welcome a Rams team that honestly,
- 33:09Speaker 1: if we're being real, if we're being objective about the Rams,
- 33:13Speaker 1: they have given two games away, right, they absolutely could
- 33:18Speaker 1: be five and zero. And I hate to play they
- 33:20Speaker 1: could be because every team has games where you do
- 33:24Speaker 1: something and you say the other opponent. But we all
- 33:26Speaker 1: saw the game against the Eagles. They help played the Eagles.
- 33:29Speaker 1: They should have won that game. The Eagles blocked two
- 33:31Speaker 1: field goals return one for a touchdown. It's unbelievable. I mean,
- 33:35Speaker 1: it was one of the craziest endings of a game
- 33:37Speaker 1: you'll ever see. But you know what, they also turned
- 33:40Speaker 1: the ball over in that game. The Rams did, all right.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Stafford had that interception early in the game that gave
- 33:49Speaker 1: the Eagles a very I don't want to say game
- 33:51Speaker 1: of an easy touchdown, but to put him right in
- 33:54Speaker 1: Rams territory at the start, and of course the Eagles
- 33:56Speaker 1: turned that into a touchdown and then they lost to
- 33:59Speaker 1: the forty nine ers last week the Thursday night game,
- 34:02Speaker 1: I think that was twenty six twenty three, and both
- 34:04Speaker 1: Korum and Kiram Williams put the ball on the ground.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Williams was going into the end zone when he put
- 34:13Speaker 1: the ball on the ground and lost to fumble. The
- 34:17Speaker 1: Rams are a very talented team. Stafford's playing really well.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Niku and Adams give him his best weaponry. When you
- 34:24Speaker 1: combine that with their round game that Stafford has had,
- 34:28Speaker 1: this team can contend for the Super Bowl if it
- 34:31Speaker 1: just gets out of its own way. You cannot put
- 34:36Speaker 1: the ball on the ground the way the Rams are
- 34:39Speaker 1: doing that. If they clean that up, they're going to
- 34:43Speaker 1: be a very very difficult team to beat. The way
- 34:46Speaker 1: they're playing, they are their own worst enemy. And unfortunately
- 34:50Speaker 1: for the Ravens, who have also turned the ball over
- 34:52Speaker 1: and played bad defense. The Rams are coming to town
- 34:56Speaker 1: and they're probably with the Mini bi since they had
- 34:59Speaker 1: played Thursday Night. They're probably pretty motivated show everybody that
- 35:03Speaker 1: they are a lot better than their record suggests. And
- 35:06Speaker 1: the record ain't bad, but they could be five and oh,
- 35:09Speaker 1: and they'll probably be six and oh coming out of
- 35:12Speaker 1: this game. I was very wrong about Baltimore last week,
- 35:14Speaker 1: by the way, I'll admit it. I said, despite all
- 35:18Speaker 1: the injuries, the Ravens have a lot of pride and
- 35:21Speaker 1: they are a great franchise and they would not embarrass
- 35:24Speaker 1: themselves against the Texans. I said that, and I was wrong,
- 35:27Speaker 1: But that also illustrates because the Ravens are usually, even
- 35:31Speaker 1: with injuries, always going to be a representative team. The
- 35:35Speaker 1: fact that they were that bad just shows you how
- 35:39Speaker 1: in a world of hurt that they are right now,
- 35:42Speaker 1: and they really need that buy after this week. They
- 35:44Speaker 1: need to get healthy. And if they lose this game, man,
- 35:48Speaker 1: are they in a real world or hurt? At one
- 35:50Speaker 1: in five? Because then you got to look at the
- 35:52Speaker 1: schedule and say, well, how many winnable games here? You know,
- 35:55Speaker 1: we get Lamar back coming out of the bye, We
- 35:58Speaker 1: get the Bears, Dolphins, Viking, Browns. Okay, hey Jets, hey
- 36:02Speaker 1: can we go? Can we win all five of those
- 36:05Speaker 1: games and get the five and four maybe then the
- 36:08Speaker 1: Bengals after that six and four. If you can win that,
- 36:10Speaker 1: then you get Steelers Bengals again. Yeah, the schedule lightens up,
- 36:14Speaker 1: It really does. I look at this Raven schedule and
- 36:16Speaker 1: I say, all they have to do is get healthy,
- 36:19Speaker 1: so we'll see what happens there. But remember they were
- 36:21Speaker 1: playing very bad on defense even before the injuries came in.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Sports are all about competition. Every snap, every possession, every

- 37:30Speaker 1: That's code Birds for a risk free first stake. All right,
- 37:35Speaker 1: that is the one o'clock games. Let's get to the
- 37:38Speaker 1: four o'clock games. All right. You got Titans at Raiders.
- 37:44Speaker 1: I mean the Raiders have been a mess. Colton Miller.
- 37:46Speaker 1: They're a left tackle, very good left tackle. He's it
- 37:49Speaker 1: sounds like he's out, and I just don't know where
- 37:51Speaker 1: the Raiders go from here. Gino Smith another thing I
- 37:55Speaker 1: was not right about, you know, like like Baltimore last week,
- 37:57Speaker 1: I thought Gino Smith was going to give them more
- 38:00Speaker 1: of an opportunity to compete. And after they won Week
- 38:04Speaker 1: one against the Patriots, I made that statement. I said,
- 38:06Speaker 1: that's what happens when you add at least a professional
- 38:09Speaker 1: quarterback like Gino Smith to your offense and you've got
- 38:13Speaker 1: someone like Ashton Genti who wasn't getting the ball early.
- 38:17Speaker 1: But you know what, Gino has not played well. I
- 38:19Speaker 1: can't sugarcoat it. I've been a fan of his game.
- 38:21Speaker 1: He's usually an accurate quarterback. I've said before, he'll make
- 38:24Speaker 1: a decision every now and then that will cost the team.
- 38:27Speaker 1: But he's making far too many of them. Maybe he's pressing,
- 38:30Speaker 1: trying to make up for the fact that he's on
- 38:32Speaker 1: a bad team. But clearly the Raiders are not a
- 38:35Speaker 1: very good team. The Titans, they're not a good team either.
- 38:39Speaker 1: They get bullied by their win over the Cardinals. Can
- 38:42Speaker 1: they make it to in a row? Will that help them?
- 38:44Speaker 1: Will it help Brian Callahan save his job? I don't know.
- 38:47Speaker 1: The Raiders are still three and a half point favorites.
- 38:49Speaker 1: Anybody can win this game. Kind of feels like both
- 38:52Speaker 1: teams are very can easily lose this game. But I'm
- 38:58Speaker 1: got my eyes on cam or here. I got my
- 39:01Speaker 1: eyes on cam Ward. I like cam Ward. He's coming
- 39:04Speaker 1: off a big win, a comeback win, first win. Go
- 39:06Speaker 1: get to all right, Go beat this Raiders team and
- 39:09Speaker 1: start to show progression and development and make the tendency.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Titan fan want to come back to the stadium and
- 39:17Speaker 1: root again because cam Ward showed you something. That's what
- 39:20Speaker 1: I would like to see from cam Ward in this game.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Bengals at Packers, Now, this is unbelievable. The Bengals and
- 39:28Speaker 1: deservedly so, decided to completely give up on the Jake
- 39:33Speaker 1: Browning experiment. And out of nowhere, this is how the
- 39:37Speaker 1: Browns coach Kevin Stefanski decided talked about it. Out of nowhere.
- 39:43Speaker 1: The Bengals call up and say we want Joe Flacco,
- 39:45Speaker 1: and the Browns say, sure, we're on the deal of Gabriel. Anyway,
- 39:49Speaker 1: here you go, and now you've got Joe Flacco. And
- 39:53Speaker 1: I want to say, I want to say that this
- 39:57Speaker 1: is a good thing for Higgins, It's a good thing
- 39:59Speaker 1: for Chase, it's a good thing for Chase Brown, it's
- 40:02Speaker 1: a good thing for Zach Taylor and the Bengals offense.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Because Joe Flacco has an arm, he has experience, he
- 40:09Speaker 1: can drive the ball. Yes, he's gonna make a lot
- 40:12Speaker 1: of mistakes at times. Yes, he wasn't doing a very
- 40:14Speaker 1: good job in Cleveland, which was kind of a mess
- 40:17Speaker 1: of a situation. But Cincinnati's not that much better of
- 40:20Speaker 1: a situation as far as offensive line and how the
- 40:25Speaker 1: team is going right now. But the weapons are there,
- 40:29Speaker 1: so I can see Joe Flacco having a good passing game.
- 40:33Speaker 1: But I can't imagine that Joe Flacco is going to
- 40:36Speaker 1: make some huge difference and get the Bengals back. But
- 40:40Speaker 1: we'll say the most interesting thing about the trade and
- 40:44Speaker 1: the fact that they're starting him right away is that
- 40:47Speaker 1: they are in Green Bay, and so that means Joe Flacco,
- 40:51Speaker 1: who beat the Packers in Week three in Cleveland with
- 40:55Speaker 1: the Browns, at least knows the team. He's going up
- 40:59Speaker 1: against any game plan for the Packers for the entire
- 41:02Speaker 1: week and managed to beat them. So maybe that was
- 41:06Speaker 1: part of the Bengals thinking. I mean, A, they just
- 41:09Speaker 1: needed a quarterback, a real professional quarterback. Flacco is still that,
- 41:12Speaker 1: and b they get a guy who's already beat their opponent.
- 41:16Speaker 1: It's a fun storyline. I don't think it's gonna matter
- 41:19Speaker 1: very much. I think the Packers are going to win
- 41:21Speaker 1: this game. I'm not quite sure how well Flacco is
- 41:24Speaker 1: going to be able to play. The Packers are fourteen
- 41:28Speaker 1: and at half point favorites. That's a big line. If
- 41:32Speaker 1: you're feeling a little, you know, frisky, you may want to,
- 41:35Speaker 1: you know, lay them down on the Bengals to cover.
- 41:37Speaker 1: I don't know. I could absolutely see them getting destroyed
- 41:41Speaker 1: at the same time. But the Bengals, they sort of
- 41:46Speaker 1: they are going to be an interesting team now to
- 41:48Speaker 1: watch because of this. And by the way, the Packers
- 41:50Speaker 1: are undefeated when they're at Lambeau this year. They first
- 41:53Speaker 1: two games were at Lambeau and they looked like a
- 41:55Speaker 1: much more They look like a completely different team. They
- 41:58Speaker 1: beat the Lions and the Commanders, and that was when
- 42:01Speaker 1: Jayden Daniels was healthy. In Weeks one and weeks two,
- 42:04Speaker 1: both double digit wins twenty seven to thirteen, twenty seven
- 42:07Speaker 1: to eighteen. Then they go away from Lambeau and they
- 42:09Speaker 1: lose to the Browns. As I mentioned, they tie the Cowboys.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Their defense looks terrible, and then they get the bye
- 42:15Speaker 1: week and then they come home for the Bengals. So
- 42:19Speaker 1: pretty good. You're in good shape for the Packers this Sunday.
- 42:23Speaker 1: You've got your rest, You're going up against the bad
- 42:25Speaker 1: Bengals team that just traded for a quarterback. You got
- 42:28Speaker 1: Micah Parsons getting healthier. Christian Watson doesn't sound like he's
- 42:32Speaker 1: gonna play in this game, but he's making some progress
- 42:35Speaker 1: and perhaps he will be able to rejoin their offense
- 42:39Speaker 1: the next week. The following week, and that also might
- 42:42Speaker 1: help the Packers take it up to another level. And
- 42:44Speaker 1: guess what that'll be against the Cardinals. So it's nice
- 42:47Speaker 1: for the Packers to have the Bengals and the Cardinals
- 42:50Speaker 1: in back to back games weeks. San Francisco at Tampa Bay.
- 42:57Speaker 1: I like this game. How about Tampa Bay? First you go,
- 43:00Speaker 1: you're on the road at San Francisco, you pull it out.
- 43:02Speaker 1: I'm sorry. At Seattle, you pull it out. Then you
- 43:04Speaker 1: come home and you play another NFC West team. I'm
- 43:08Speaker 1: not sure that there's anybody playing at a higher level
- 43:12Speaker 1: at the quarterback position right now than Baker Mayfield. I mean,
- 43:16Speaker 1: he lost Mike Evans. After Week three, they are already
- 43:19Speaker 1: three and zero. They move the ball very well against
- 43:22Speaker 1: the Eagles. We all saw how they lost that game.
- 43:25Speaker 1: Then they go on the road into Seattle and win
- 43:28Speaker 1: an absolute shootout. And right now, I talked about the
- 43:31Speaker 1: Darnald Smith and Jigba connection, but holy cow, the Mayfield
- 43:36Speaker 1: a Mecca Igbuca connection might be the most prolific one
- 43:40Speaker 1: in the NFL right now. This rookie has been unbelievable,
- 43:46Speaker 1: and so is Baker. By the way, you lose Mike Evans,
- 43:48Speaker 1: you get Godwin back, but he's clearly not the Godwin
- 43:52Speaker 1: of full health. And in fact, I don't think he's
- 43:55Speaker 1: gonna play in this game. And you don't have Bucky Irving,
- 43:58Speaker 1: your best running back, your two way three, and you
- 44:00Speaker 1: still score thirty eight points and win a shootout in Seattle. Hey,
- 44:06Speaker 1: you get my ultimate respect. Baker's playing really, really well,
- 44:12Speaker 1: and they are a tough team right now, and they
- 44:14Speaker 1: are clearly in their division a candidate to go six
- 44:18Speaker 1: and oh in that division. And as I mentioned before,
- 44:20Speaker 1: if you go six and oh in your own division,
- 44:23Speaker 1: then really all you got to do is find five
- 44:25Speaker 1: or six non division wins. Well, you got one against
- 44:28Speaker 1: the Texans, one against the Jets, one against the Seahawks
- 44:31Speaker 1: right now. So really, you know, you're looking at your
- 44:34Speaker 1: schedule and you're saying, do I got three more non
- 44:37Speaker 1: NFC South games that I can win? Well, they have
- 44:40Speaker 1: the Cardinals on the schedule, they got the Dolphins on
- 44:45Speaker 1: the schedule, and in the next two weeks forty nine
- 44:48Speaker 1: Ers Lions, Lions will be tough, but forty nine ers
- 44:51Speaker 1: this week, that's what makes us a big gay. They
- 44:53Speaker 1: win this game against the forty nine ers, who are
- 44:56Speaker 1: still banged up on a lot of spots, then you
- 45:00Speaker 1: can just pencil the Buccaneers in probably for a two seed.
- 45:07Speaker 1: Might be getting ahead of myself, but you can definitely
- 45:10Speaker 1: see them winning twelve or thirteen games as long as
- 45:13Speaker 1: they don't have like major, major injuries. They are three
- 45:17Speaker 1: and a half point favorites. The forty nine ers are
- 45:20Speaker 1: basically scratching and clawing every week, and I give them
- 45:25Speaker 1: credit for it. You know again, they took advantage of
- 45:28Speaker 1: those Rams turnovers to win that Thursday night game. But
- 45:31Speaker 1: they are not healthy. They're getting healthier. I think Pearcel
- 45:35Speaker 1: is going to be back, but doesn't sound like Kittle's
- 45:37Speaker 1: gonna be ready. They're still waiting on Iuk. It sounds
- 45:40Speaker 1: like he's a couple of weeks away. They got Bosas
- 45:44Speaker 1: out for the year. We all know that they have
- 45:46Speaker 1: other injuries. Mac Jones may have to start and he's
- 45:50Speaker 1: banged up. So the Buccaneers are in a good spot
- 45:53Speaker 1: here despite the fact that they've got a lot of injuries.
- 45:56Speaker 1: They meant that, and it sounds like they won't to
- 45:57Speaker 1: have Irving Evans and Goodwin in this game. But I'm
- 46:00Speaker 1: not picking against them because the Buccaneers are playing in
- 46:03Speaker 1: a really good high level and like I said, Baker's
- 46:06Speaker 1: been fantastic, all right, the Sunday night game. Let's get
- 46:10Speaker 1: into that. Hey, fall is planting season. Did you know

- 48:33Speaker 1: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans twenty
- 48:36Speaker 1: one and up. This game should be interesting. The Chiefs
- 48:42Speaker 1: are at home against the Lions. The Lions are two
- 48:44Speaker 1: and a half point favorites. Boy, I remember the Eagles
- 48:47Speaker 1: were favorited when they went to Kansas City in week two.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Now the Lions are favorites. I can anybody remember the
- 48:54Speaker 1: last time the Chiefs were home dogs twice in four weeks,
- 49:01Speaker 1: let alone a year. I mean, that is unbelievable, but
- 49:05Speaker 1: it's fair Chiefs. Chiefs aren't the type of team that
- 49:10Speaker 1: you can just roll over. I mean, the Jaguars had
- 49:12Speaker 1: to come and win that game in the fourth quarter.
- 49:16Speaker 1: But obviously there's things missing. They look like they were
- 49:19Speaker 1: on a roll. You know, they beat the Giants twenty
- 49:21Speaker 1: two nine. The Giants stunk and still do they beat
- 49:25Speaker 1: the Ravens. From the Ravens we just talked about, you'll
- 49:28Speaker 1: lose a close one to the Jaguars and now you
- 49:31Speaker 1: got to play a Lions team that is on a
- 49:33Speaker 1: real role. I think the Chiefs will be able to score.
- 49:36Speaker 1: The question is can they outscore Detroit. Now the Lions
- 49:41Speaker 1: did loose, it sounds like Terry Arnold's gonna be out
- 49:43Speaker 1: for a little bit, so Lion. The Lions always have
- 49:46Speaker 1: like three or four guys who are injured. Alee McNeil,
- 49:49Speaker 1: I don't think we'll come back. They're very good defensive
- 49:51Speaker 1: tackle this week. He'll probably be back soon from last
- 49:54Speaker 1: year's ACL but not this week. So I think the
- 49:58Speaker 1: Chiefs will be able to move the ball against the Lions,
- 50:00Speaker 1: but I don't I don't know if they'll be able
- 50:04Speaker 1: to stop the Lions from scoring. And the only thing
- 50:07Speaker 1: I can say is it's outdoors against the Chiefs team
- 50:13Speaker 1: that will bring pressure, and I don't know if I
- 50:16Speaker 1: always trust Jared Goff on the road outdoors against a
- 50:21Speaker 1: team that can bring the heat like this. You know,
- 50:23Speaker 1: they beat the Bengals last week. The Bengals can't bring brangles,
- 50:26Speaker 1: bring the ice, they bring the red carpet treatment. Okay,
- 50:30Speaker 1: they beat the Ravens in Week three thirty eight to thirty,
- 50:34Speaker 1: but the Ravens have struggled and that was in Baltimore.
- 50:37Speaker 1: The Ravens have struggled defensively way more than the Chiefs have,
- 50:44Speaker 1: so I kind of think this game is going to
- 50:47Speaker 1: be close, and even though the Chiefs are underdogs, I
- 50:51Speaker 1: give them a puncher's chance. I would totally stay away
- 50:54Speaker 1: from this game from a betting standpoint, but this is
- 50:58Speaker 1: an opportunity for the Lions, with the Eagles losing Thursday night,
- 51:04Speaker 1: to really reclaim the status that they had at this
- 51:08Speaker 1: time last year as the NFC's top team. You know,
- 51:12Speaker 1: they got all those injuries last year. The Eagles caught
- 51:15Speaker 1: fire right around Week six, Week seven. They started off
- 51:18Speaker 1: that way. They really they started winning games Week five,
- 51:21Speaker 1: six and seven, but they really caught fire the Eagles
- 51:23Speaker 1: did later in the year. The Lions were on fire
- 51:27Speaker 1: from the start and withstood all of these injuries, but
- 51:31Speaker 1: eventually it caught up with them. They're healthier now and
- 51:34Speaker 1: they look like they are in some kind of role.
- 51:37Speaker 1: So this will be a really fun game, and if
- 51:40Speaker 1: the Lions win, you've got to consider them, at least
- 51:44Speaker 1: momentarily the team to beat in the NFC. You look
- 51:49Speaker 1: at the Lions and you look at the Bucks, and
- 51:52Speaker 1: you say, until the Eagles really look like the Eagles. Again,
- 51:56Speaker 1: you'd have to consider the Lions and the Bucks to
- 51:59Speaker 1: be the two teams in the NFC that look very
- 52:03Speaker 1: look the strongest. All right, once again, you got two
- 52:07Speaker 1: Monday night games. We'll talk about these Monday night games.
- 52:10Speaker 1: Buffalo is in Atlanta, And if you're the Falcons, you're
- 52:15Speaker 1: you're probably pretty annoyed, to be honest with you that
- 52:19Speaker 1: you're annoyed at the Patriots. You're annoyed that the Patriots
- 52:23Speaker 1: went and made the Bills mad. And you know, now
- 52:27Speaker 1: you got to welcome a team. You're coming off a
- 52:30Speaker 1: nice the bye week before that, you beat in a
- 52:33Speaker 1: Washington commander's team that didn't have Jaden Daniels, so you
- 52:36Speaker 1: got yourself back to five hundred. You want to feel good,
- 52:39Speaker 1: and now you got to welcome a very angry Buffalo
- 52:42Speaker 1: Bills team into your stadium. And I wouldn't want to
- 52:45Speaker 1: be in that spot if I were the Falcons. I
- 52:48Speaker 1: don't like the Falcons a whole lot. In this game.
- 52:51Speaker 1: Buffalo is four and a half boinst favorites. The Falcons
- 52:54Speaker 1: have been better defensively than offensively, but they still had
- 53:00Speaker 1: some weird, you know, offense they've had some weird defensive games.
- 53:03Speaker 1: The Commanders put up twenty seven on them with a
- 53:06Speaker 1: backup quarterback, and somehow they give up thirty points to
- 53:10Speaker 1: the Panthers in a ridiculous thirty to nothing loss that
- 53:14Speaker 1: I still cannot wrap my arm, my head around, my
- 53:18Speaker 1: brain around, doesn't let me process it. So I don't
- 53:22Speaker 1: really think they're going to be able to stop this
- 53:24Speaker 1: Bills team that definitely looked a little vulnerable in that
- 53:27Speaker 1: loss to the Patriots, but probably is out for blood
- 53:30Speaker 1: this week to come back and show everybody that that
- 53:32Speaker 1: was just a blip on the radar. And then you
- 53:36Speaker 1: got a great game. Eight fifteen game, you have a
- 53:39Speaker 1: rematch of last year's hail Mary spectacular between the Bears
- 53:46Speaker 1: and the Commanders. We all know that the Commanders won
- 53:50Speaker 1: that game on a hail mary. The guy that the
- 53:55Speaker 1: Bear safety was supposed to be covering caught the hail
- 53:58Speaker 1: Mary while he was drawn with the crowd, and that
- 54:01Speaker 1: was just basically a microcosm of the Bear season. But
- 54:05Speaker 1: what fascinates me about that is this, if you remember
- 54:09Speaker 1: last year, before that hail Mary game, all right, the
- 54:13Speaker 1: Bears had won three straight games and they were four
- 54:16Speaker 1: and two. This is Caleb Williams first year. They looked
- 54:19Speaker 1: like they had turned a corner after beating the Rams,
- 54:25Speaker 1: the Panthers, and the Jaguars three straight weeks to go
- 54:28Speaker 1: to five. I'm sorry to go to four and two.
- 54:31Speaker 1: And then they lost that Hail Mary game and lost
- 54:35Speaker 1: like eight games in a row. All right, they were bad.
- 54:41Speaker 1: Might have been more than that. In fact, I'll look
- 54:43Speaker 1: at it right now. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
- 54:47Speaker 1: eight nine. They've lost ten games in a row. That
- 54:50Speaker 1: Hail Marry game was the start of a ten game
- 54:53Speaker 1: losing streak, all right. And I only bring that up
- 54:56Speaker 1: because right now. The Bears, after losing their first two
- 54:59Speaker 1: games of the year, came back. They beat the Cowboys
- 55:02Speaker 1: in their own state at home in Chicago, thirty one
- 55:05Speaker 1: to fourteen, and then they outlasted a bad Raiders team
- 55:08Speaker 1: twenty five to twenty four. And then they had to
- 55:10Speaker 1: buy so they had sometimes to figure some things out.
- 55:13Speaker 1: I think what they need to figure out is how
- 55:15Speaker 1: to get their two rookies that they drafted in the
- 55:18Speaker 1: top forty into the offense. They got to figure out
- 55:21Speaker 1: how to get Luther Burden into the offense, and how
- 55:24Speaker 1: to get Colston Lovelin tenth overall pick into the offense
- 55:28Speaker 1: because those two guys haven't really done very much. It's
- 55:30Speaker 1: been the Roma Doonday Show, which is nice for Roma
- 55:33Speaker 1: Dunsay and Caleb Williams, but DJ Moore really not been
- 55:37Speaker 1: a factor into their offense. And if you're gonna go
- 55:40Speaker 1: beat the Commanders, who have Jayden Daniels back and they
- 55:43Speaker 1: have a good pass rush. The Commanders a better pass rush,
- 55:48Speaker 1: especially from the edges. Then I anticipated that they would have.
- 55:52Speaker 1: We knew they were strong up the middle, but their
- 55:54Speaker 1: deficiency was ed rusher, ed rusher. That's why they signed
- 55:57Speaker 1: Von Miller. You know, dusted off him, but he's played
- 56:02Speaker 1: all right. Dorance Armstrong has played really well. The Commanders
- 56:06Speaker 1: can rush the passer and they can get after you.
- 56:08Speaker 1: That was an impressive win they had against the Chargers
- 56:11Speaker 1: last week, going out on the road in LA and
- 56:15Speaker 1: winning that game. And they want to just like everybody else.
- 56:19Speaker 1: They're looking at the Eagles and saying, now is our
- 56:21Speaker 1: time to make a move. They're a better team than
- 56:25Speaker 1: the Bears. They should beat the Bears. And if you're
- 56:29Speaker 1: the Bears, you don't want this in the back of
- 56:32Speaker 1: your mind. Another lost to the Commanders that kickstarted a
- 56:36Speaker 1: ten game losing streak last year. I think it'll be
- 56:39Speaker 1: a pretty good game. Washington's the home team, the four
- 56:41Speaker 1: and a half point favorites. It's a very important game
- 56:46Speaker 1: for both teams. For the Bears, it's sort of putting
- 56:49Speaker 1: last year's disappointment behind them and showing that they actually
- 56:55Speaker 1: have turned a corner in winning their last two games.
- 56:58Speaker 1: And for the Commanders with Jayden Daniels healthy again, and
- 57:02Speaker 1: it doesn't sound like I don't know if I don't
- 57:06Speaker 1: know that they're gonna be able to get McLaurin back.
- 57:09Speaker 1: I mean, they're still limited offensively, They're doing the most
- 57:11Speaker 1: they can. Jacory Krossky Merit or Bill Merritt as he
- 57:14Speaker 1: likes to be called, has now taken the role as
- 57:17Speaker 1: their number one running back. He gives them a little
- 57:20Speaker 1: playmaking ability. I like it. They're a very well coached team,
- 57:23Speaker 1: the Commanders are, and this is an important game for
- 57:26Speaker 1: them because they're gonna look at the standings and say, hey,
- 57:30Speaker 1: we win this game. Guess what. Guess what our record
- 57:34Speaker 1: is now? Yeah, four and two, that's what the Eagles are. Okay,
- 57:39Speaker 1: So everybody's got their eye on the Eagles. And everybody's
- 57:42Speaker 1: got their eye. I'm making their move while the Eagles
- 57:45Speaker 1: are down, because like me, they're all probably thinking the
- 57:48Speaker 1: same thing. We have to win games when the Eagles don't,
- 57:52Speaker 1: because eventually the Eagles will get they will figure out
- 57:55Speaker 1: their problems, and they will probably be a very competitive
- 57:58Speaker 1: team once they do. So let's get our opportunities. Let's
- 58:02Speaker 1: capitalize us on them while we have the chance. All right.
- 58:08Speaker 1: Time to go through my picks of the week.

- 58:35Speaker 3: nine to one, eight seven five.
- 58:40Speaker 1: Before I give you my picks, I'm gonna do a
- 58:43Speaker 1: two in one deal here because I realized I skipped
- 58:46Speaker 1: a one o'clock game with the Steelers being six and
- 58:50Speaker 1: a half point favorites over the Browns. The Steelers are
- 58:53Speaker 1: coming off the bye week. I still am very skeptical
- 58:58Speaker 1: of their long term I guess future. Their running game
- 59:03Speaker 1: gives me some pause. Defense has played better, and you
- 59:06Speaker 1: know they were out in out across the Pond in Ireland.
- 59:12Speaker 1: You know when they played the Vikings, won that game
- 59:15Speaker 1: twenty four to twenty one. Their defense played pretty well.
- 59:17Speaker 1: They're coming off two wins over the Vikings and the Patriots,
- 59:20Speaker 1: and then they had the buye. So I'm still skeptical
- 59:24Speaker 1: of them. But I you know, Steelers Browns is a rivalry.
- 59:27Speaker 1: It's at Pittsburgh and their six and a half point favorites,
- 59:31Speaker 1: and that's gonna be one of the games that I take.
- 59:33Speaker 1: I like the Steelers to cover the six and a
- 59:36Speaker 1: half against the Browns this week. That is my first pick. Now.
- 59:41Speaker 1: Last week, I forgot to mention I got back into
- 59:44Speaker 1: the win column. I went two and one. I had
- 59:46Speaker 1: taken the Colts six and a half over the Raiders.
- 59:49Speaker 1: I won on that. I had the Cowboys one and
- 59:51Speaker 1: a half at the Jets. I won on that I
- 59:53Speaker 1: did lose. The Chiefs were favored by three and a
- 59:56Speaker 1: half over the Jags, Obviously, they lost the game, so
- 59:59Speaker 1: I went two and and now I'm five and ten
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: for the year. But I feel like I'm about to
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: make my move now that the uncertainty of the first
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: three to four weeks is behind us. So again I
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: like Steelers covering the six and a half in Pittsburgh
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: against the Browns. I'm gonna stay with the Colts. The
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: Colts keep getting a nice cake schedule. They're six and
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: a half point favorites at home again, this time against
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: the Cardinals. Mate we'll see about Kyler Murray, but regardless,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: I think the way Jonathan Taylor is running the ball,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: the way Daniel Jones is getting the ball to Warren
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: and Pittman, and the way the defense is playing that
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: the Colts should win that game by more than a touchdown.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: And I like the Cowboys as three and a half
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: point favorites over the Panthers. I don't love the Cowboys defense,
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: but I don't love the Panthers defense either, and I
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: think the Cowboys are gonna score a whole lot of
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: points in that game, should be able to win and
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: cover the three and a half. So that's gonna do
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: it for the inside the Birds. Week six NFL Previews. You,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: as always, as I tell you, enjoy your football watching
