- 0:23Speaker 1: Hey there, welcome back to Stop Time Live in the Moment.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Today we're celebrating something incredibly close to my heart the release of my new book, the Places when there Are Spaces Cultivating a Life of Creative Possibilities.
- 0:39Speaker 1: You can probably hear me smiling.
- 0:43Speaker 1: You know, it's excitement and fear.
- 0:45Speaker 1: I don't know what I'm afraid of exactly.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I suppose it's vulnerability.
- 0:50Speaker 1: You know, when we release a piece of ourselves into the world, we do put ourselves out there in a way that makes us potentially vulnerable.
- 1:03Speaker 1: But you know what?
- 1:03Speaker 1: Only if we're attached to what it's supposed to be.
- 1:06Speaker 1: But you know what?
- 1:08Speaker 1: Only if we're attached to what it's supposed to be.
- 1:12Speaker 1: So I am really practicing hard what I teach and living in the moment and just enjoying this feeling and recognizing it and knowing that, well, hey, I did it and that's enough.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Before we dive into what the book is about and all the exciting activities coming up around it, I want to share a passage from the foreword that really sets the stage for what you can expect.
- 1:36Speaker 1: So I'm just going to read a little bit from my foreword, all right.
- 1:45Speaker 1: So living in the moment has always come naturally to me Ever since I can remember.
- 1:51Speaker 1: It's been second nature.
- 1:53Speaker 1: I could always see the possibility in each moment, and even when moments were less than ideal, it was easy for me to find my light in the darkness, like glow-in-the-dark tape on the theatrical stage of life.
- 2:10Speaker 1: For the longest time, I assumed that others were able to do the same, and when they couldn't, it frustrated me.
- 2:19Speaker 1: It wasn't until I became a life coach that I discovered there was a way to share and express my gift of living in the moment in a more tangible way beyond the proscenium.
- 2:32Speaker 1: In many ways, my lifelong career in the performing arts was all about the places where there are spaces.
- 2:40Speaker 1: In theatre, we begin with an empty space, and the way we position or place the actors and scenery on the stage creates relationships and evokes meaning.
- 2:52Speaker 1: In dance class, as in life, I was always drawn toward exploring and experiencing the spaces between the leaping and the landing, both as a student and as a teacher landing.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Both as a student and as a teacher, my choreography was filled with space that allowed and invited perspective, energy and breath.
- 3:17Speaker 1: This has been a long time coming.
- 3:19Speaker 1: In fact, I'm pretty sure that it's been inside me all along.
- 3:23Speaker 1: In any case, it is literally a place where there was a space, and I've chosen to be in the moment and fill it unconditionally, trusting the process, as I share some concepts and ideas I've learned along the way, inquiry and musings that I have gathered in my journey, many of which were created or rewritten while staying in place in the Laurentian mountains of Quebec during the global pandemic.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Some are shared lessons, while others are more practical coaching exercises intrigued, I hope so.
- 4:04Speaker 1: This book is not just a reflection of my journey, but a guide to help you navigate your own paths more creatively and mindfully.
- 4:10Speaker 1: And there's journaling too.
- 4:13Speaker 1: There's journal space there.
- 4:15Speaker 1: It's an interactive book.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I really hope you guys are going to enjoy it.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I'm learning as I go, guys, and I just have this innate feeling that I want to create community around some of these ideas, like we do here on the podcast.
- 4:30Speaker 1: So this fall I'm conjuring some kind of a virtual book club and conversation series where we can delve deeper into these themes and discuss the prompts together.
- 4:39Speaker 1: You'll hear more about it and if you're interested in finding out more, please follow us on social media for details and registration information.
- 4:50Speaker 1: So, guys, I so appreciate you and your continued support and listenership.
- 4:55Speaker 1: So you can find the places where there are spaces on amazoncom right now and the link is in the show notes.
- 5:02Speaker 1: If you pick up a copy, leaving a review would be greatly appreciated, as it helps others discover the book and supports our community here as well.
- 5:10Speaker 1: If you are not on Amazoncom, it will eventually be populating all the other sites in all sorts of countries.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I saw it.
- 5:22Speaker 1: It was in Sweden already and in Germany and wherever you buy your books.
- 5:27Speaker 1: But be patient.
