- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show on 710WOR.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Uh, hang on, it's just breaking. Uh, there are two
- 0:13Speaker 2: ex-FBI officials. They're the ones accused of covering up the
- 0:20Speaker 2: Hunter Biden laptop. Former senior bureau officials Nikki Flores and
- 0:25Speaker 2: Bradley Benavides.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Uh.
- 0:29Speaker 2: They've been indicted and they're being charged for lying to Congress.
- 0:32Speaker 2: You know, the Hunter laptop was covered up. You got
- 0:37Speaker 2: all these sleazy, dirty swamp characters in the CIA and
- 0:42Speaker 2: the FBI. And they were all busy trying to cover
- 0:45Speaker 2: up that Hunter Biden laptop. You remember Clapper and Brennan,
- 0:50Speaker 2: all those dirty, sleazy guys. Well, Here's two ex-FBI officials.
- 0:56Speaker 2: They have been charged for lying to Congress, and that
- 0:59Speaker 2: means there's more coming. Usually start down low, indict those guys,
- 1:03Speaker 2: and then get them to turn on the people above them.
- 1:06Speaker 2: So this is pretty interesting. They wouldn't have indicted them,
- 1:13Speaker 2: this task force that was looking at all this corruption
- 1:16Speaker 2: in the FBI. They wouldn't indict them if they didn't
- 1:19Speaker 2: have the evidence. So They're indicted right now, charged with
- 1:22Speaker 2: lying to Congress. Probably more charges coming, more people, but
- 1:27Speaker 2: it was a terrible, terrible cover-up. The Hunter Biden laptop,
- 1:32Speaker 2: so keep an eye on that. Hey, in Europe, a
- 1:36Speaker 2: bunch of the major websites in Europe went dark. There
- 1:41Speaker 2: was a problem with hacking. They were trying to protect
- 1:44Speaker 2: the systems from hackers, and the hacking was so sophisticated
- 1:48Speaker 2: and complicated the only thing they could do is shut
- 1:50Speaker 2: these major websites down not to get too technical here
- 1:56Speaker 2: but there's a vulnerability the PHP 2 shell whatever the
- 2:01Speaker 2: hell that is and there was a way to hack
- 2:04Speaker 2: into that but 70% of the websites using those websites Germany, France, Belgium, Finland,
- 2:11Speaker 2: Netherlands they took their government websites offline they shut it
- 2:16Speaker 2: all down To prevent the hacking was pretty serious stuff.
- 2:22Speaker 2: And now we're getting word this morning that in New Jersey,
- 2:26Speaker 2: major health lab had to announce that there was hacking.
- 2:30Speaker 2: They got hacked. All your personal data may have been
- 2:35Speaker 2: retrieved by the hackers. And now it turns out it's Quest.
- 2:39Speaker 2: You all know Quest when you get a blood test.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Doctor gives you a blood test. It's sent out to
- 2:44Speaker 2: the lab. And it's always, it's Quest or there's another
- 2:47Speaker 2: one called LabCorp. But most of the time, it's Quest.
- 2:51Speaker 2: You get the blood test. I just got a blood test.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Came back fine, tested negative on everything. But the problem
- 3:00Speaker 2: is when you get the blood test, the insurance usually
- 3:05Speaker 2: pays it. You pay for the blood test. And then
- 3:09Speaker 2: a month later, you get a bill from Quest or
- 3:11Speaker 2: LabCorp for $ 9.
- 3:13Speaker 1: 32.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I don't know what the hell this is, but I'll
- 3:17Speaker 2: just pay it. And then two months later, you get
- 3:21Speaker 2: a bill from Quest or LabCorp, $ 11. 16. Now, what the
- 3:26Speaker 2: hell do I... Why didn't you just bill me everything
- 3:29Speaker 2: the first time? You could call them up, but you
- 3:33Speaker 2: know you're going to be on hold talking to a
- 3:36Speaker 2: recording for seven hours, so you just pay it. And
- 3:42Speaker 2: then a couple months later, you get another bill from
- 3:44Speaker 2: Quest or LabCorp for $ 4. 03. I don't know what the
- 3:47Speaker 2: hell this is with these... These laboratories, these blood tests.
- 3:52Speaker 2: But I have a feeling that's their main business. Just
- 3:56Speaker 2: sending you extra bills, $ 3, $ 8, $ 12. But you do
- 4:02Speaker 2: that a million times, you make a lot of money.
- 4:04Speaker 2: It's a great business for them. Let me check the
- 4:07Speaker 2: price of oil. It was spiking up this morning. Yeah,
- 4:11Speaker 2: it's still up.
- 4:11Speaker 1: It's over $ 100 now.
- 4:12Speaker 2: It's $ 102 a barrel. Big spike. It was down to $ 97.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Big spike overnight. Now, the reason for that, the Houthis
- 4:22Speaker 2: are on the attack. They've been hitting Saudi Arabia. They
- 4:25Speaker 2: hit the airport. They hit a couple other things. But
- 4:29Speaker 2: the rumor is, the word is, and even the Saudis
- 4:32Speaker 2: are making noise that they're about to hit the Saudi
- 4:37Speaker 2: oil facilities. And if they do that, that would affect
- 4:40Speaker 2: the price of oil. So that's why the traders have
- 4:43Speaker 2: spiked up the price of oil. It's $ 102 a barrel.
- 4:46Speaker 2: You know, you keep hearing about the Republicans are going
- 4:49Speaker 2: to lose, Trump is going to lose, they're going to lose,
- 4:51Speaker 2: the price of oil, the price of gas, the price
- 4:53Speaker 2: of oil. It's not good, but it's not the issue
- 4:57Speaker 2: that the fake news is pretending it is. Not everybody
- 5:00Speaker 2: in the world, and nobody's happy about oil going up,
- 5:04Speaker 2: but not everybody in the world is voting on one issue. Obviously,
- 5:08Speaker 2: if you're a trucker or something, it's a big effect
- 5:11Speaker 2: on your business. If you're just an average driver, it's
- 5:15Speaker 2: an annoyance. It's not You're not necessarily going to change
- 5:18Speaker 2: your vote over the price of gas at the pumps
- 5:21Speaker 2: for a normal voter. Just because gasoline went up at
- 5:25Speaker 2: the pump doesn't mean you're suddenly for men and women's sports, transgender,
- 5:30Speaker 2: surgery for children, open borders. You're not going to vote
- 5:34Speaker 2: for that just because the price of gas went up.
- 5:35Speaker 2: So it's not the big factor they make it out
- 5:40Speaker 2: to be. Hey, the good news, there's this El Nino story.
- 5:46Speaker 2: affecting the weather all over the world. It's going to
- 5:48Speaker 2: be with us all winter, this El Nino system. It's bad.
- 5:54Speaker 2: It's bad for a lot of places. The good news
- 5:56Speaker 2: for the Northeast, it's not going to affect us except
- 6:00Speaker 2: because of the El Nino, it will raise the temperature
- 6:04Speaker 2: all winter. That means here in the Northeast, here in
- 6:07Speaker 2: New York and the whole tri-state area, probably no snow
- 6:11Speaker 2: all winter. Now, when you're in In El Nino, you
- 6:14Speaker 2: do get a lot of precipitation, so there could be
- 6:17Speaker 2: a lot of rain days, but there will be no
- 6:21Speaker 2: snow or very, very little snow this winter. We had
- 6:25Speaker 2: this El Nino thing a few years ago. Remember, there
- 6:27Speaker 2: were a couple of winters where it never snowed once.
- 6:29Speaker 2: That was an El Nino winter. So we got one
- 6:32Speaker 2: of those coming up. That's the good news. President Trump,
- 6:36Speaker 2: he's going to Florida this afternoon. He'll do a big
- 6:39Speaker 2: rally in Fort Myers. Then he'll go to Palm Beach,
- 6:42Speaker 2: sleep at Mar-a-Lago. Then tomorrow he'll go to Georgia for
- 6:47Speaker 2: a big rally, sleep in Palm Beach, Mar-a-Lago. And then
- 6:53Speaker 2: he'll go to Michigan on Sunday for a big rally.
- 6:55Speaker 2: And I'm looking at the schedule for the whole week.
- 6:57Speaker 2: It's one state after another, just nonstop crisscrossing the United States. Hey,
- 7:03Speaker 2: that Brad Lander, he's running for whatever the hell he is,
- 7:07Speaker 2: control or The most annoying left-wing kook, liberal, anti-Israel, anti-Semitic.
- 7:15Speaker 2: He's Jewish, but you can still be anti-Semitic and be Jewish.
- 7:19Speaker 2: He's just an angry anti-Semite, left-wing, annoying guy. Goes over
- 7:23Speaker 2: to Israel trying to get himself arrested. Puts out all
- 7:27Speaker 2: kinds of statements, pictures. He was detained. Israel detained him. Detained, detained, detained.
- 7:32Speaker 2: For about two minutes, he and his group went into
- 7:36Speaker 2: a military zone. Israeli defense forces surrounded them, demanded to
- 7:40Speaker 2: see identification, see who they were, and then let him go.
- 7:44Speaker 2: In 12 seconds, he was detained. But, ooh, he's cashing
- 7:48Speaker 2: in on this.
- 7:49Speaker 1: What I'm angry about as an American Jew and a
- 7:52Speaker 1: human being is the violence that is being done to Palestinians,
- 7:57Speaker 1: an effort to push them off their land and out
- 7:59Speaker 1: of their homes.
- 8:00Speaker 2: That's what he's angry about as a Jew.
- 8:03Speaker 1: What I'm angry about as an American Jew and a
- 8:06Speaker 1: human being.
- 8:07Speaker 2: As a human being. He's angry. He's angry. You can
- 8:10Speaker 2: hear how angry he is. Well, first of all, would you?
- 8:16Speaker 2: You know, there's a new documentary. It's got the actual
- 8:18Speaker 2: footage of the Hamas terrorists committing genocide on Israel that
- 8:24Speaker 2: October 7th, where they literally sliced the throats of babies,
- 8:29Speaker 2: where they raped women, where they just slaughtered and tortured.
- 8:32Speaker 2: He's not angry about that. That didn't bother him. But
- 8:36Speaker 2: Israel responds, he's angry. But he just goes on and
- 8:40Speaker 2: on and on.
- 8:41Speaker 1: This is part of an effort to ethnically cleanse them
- 8:44Speaker 1: from their land by making it impossible to harvest their
- 8:47Speaker 1: fields or drive on their roads or in their homes.
- 8:50Speaker 2: This is your typical morning Joe trying to cleanse the land.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Israel just wants peace. Stop committing holocausts against them. That's
- 9:00Speaker 2: all they're asking for. So, hey, this is a fascinating story.
- 9:05Speaker 2: You know, these driverless cars. A lot of people just
- 9:10Speaker 2: don't trust it. The driverless car. You're sitting in the car.
- 9:13Speaker 2: The car is driving itself. So a lot of people
- 9:16Speaker 2: don't trust it. And then everybody else will tell you
- 9:18Speaker 2: it's perfectly safe. It's safer than a human driver. This
- 9:23Speaker 2: happens now and then. This week, a Tesla on a
- 9:28Speaker 2: highway going 70 miles an hour, which is fine. Speed
- 9:31Speaker 2: limit was probably 65, 70. A Tesla is on the
- 9:35Speaker 2: highway driving. It hit and killed a 71-year-old pedestrian. Now,
- 9:43Speaker 2: the 71-year-old pedestrian for some reason was trying to walk
- 9:47Speaker 2: across the highway, which is a little crazy. But the
- 9:51Speaker 2: victim was crossing Interstate 80. This is in California. The
- 9:57Speaker 2: Tesla hit him. The driver was 26 years old. He
- 10:01Speaker 2: was in the car. The car stopped and everything. By
- 10:07Speaker 2: the way, it caused a lot of other collisions. But
- 10:11Speaker 2: every other driver took off. The Tesla stayed. And the driver,
- 10:16Speaker 2: who's 26, explained to the cops it's a driverless car.
- 10:19Speaker 2: He had nothing to do with driving it. The Tesla
- 10:21Speaker 2: has video. It records everything. It was horrifying footage of
- 10:26Speaker 2: hitting the older guy, killing him. But the guy did
- 10:29Speaker 2: walk directly into the Tesla's path. The video showed the
- 10:34Speaker 2: Tesla's brakes being applied, but the vehicle wasn't able to
- 10:38Speaker 2: stop in time. And it did steer to the left,
- 10:40Speaker 2: trying to avoid the pedestrian. Despite the evasive action, the
- 10:45Speaker 2: right front portion of the Tesla struck the individual hard.
- 10:49Speaker 2: and then caused the man to be struck by another
- 10:52Speaker 2: vehicle while lying in the street. So it looks like
- 10:54Speaker 2: the Tesla knocked him down. He was on the ground hurt,
- 10:59Speaker 2: couldn't get up, and the other cars hit him. Now,
- 11:01Speaker 2: the other cars took off. Tesla's full system driving or
- 11:06Speaker 2: whatever can steer, change lanes, navigate roads, but it's not
- 11:11Speaker 2: fully autonomous. In a situation like that, they say the
- 11:15Speaker 2: driver should remain alert, be ready to take control, but
- 11:19Speaker 2: When you see it happening, by then it might be
- 11:21Speaker 2: too late to do anything. Now, under California law, drivers
- 11:27Speaker 2: remain responsible even for an automatic vehicle safely operating. Even
- 11:33Speaker 2: when the automated driving is in, you're responsible legally. So
- 11:36Speaker 2: I don't know what that's going to mean for this driver.
- 11:39Speaker 2: But it's still a little dangerous, obviously, these automatic driving cars.
- 11:46Speaker 2: So Pete Hegseth is the Secretary of Defense. And he's
- 11:51Speaker 2: kind of a, the way he dresses is kind of weird.
- 11:54Speaker 2: You know, he's got like an American flag tie and
- 11:57Speaker 2: he's got this American flag pocket square. It looks a
- 12:00Speaker 2: little cheesy. So I don't know if he has the
- 12:02Speaker 2: best taste in the world. But Secretary of Defense, and
- 12:07Speaker 2: he wants, if you look at the old pictures of
- 12:10Speaker 2: General Eisenhower, Dwight D. Eisenhower, you know, commanded the Normandy invasion,
- 12:15Speaker 2: World War II. General Eisenhower had a globe. And back
- 12:20Speaker 2: in those days in the 50s, they had these big globes.
- 12:24Speaker 2: They were huge. They were like enormous. They were like
- 12:29Speaker 2: the size of a refrigerator and they were on a big,
- 12:31Speaker 2: beautiful wooden stand. They weren't on a desk or anything.
- 12:34Speaker 2: They had a floor stand. Enormous globes. You remember seeing
- 12:38Speaker 2: those in old pictures from the 50s? Eisenhower had one
- 12:41Speaker 2: in his office. So, Hegseth apparently was Big, big fan
- 12:47Speaker 2: of this globe. He wanted it. It was being stored
- 12:49Speaker 2: somewhere in the Pentagon. It was used by Eisenhower in
- 12:53Speaker 2: World War II, which means it's an outdated globe. I mean,
- 12:57Speaker 2: probably half the countries on it are different now. But
- 13:00Speaker 2: Hegseth wanted it. He dispatched people in his office to
- 13:04Speaker 2: go find the globe in the Pentagon and bring it
- 13:06Speaker 2: to his office. It was a huge globe, like 30
- 13:11Speaker 2: inches in diameter, big wooden stand. So these guys went
- 13:15Speaker 2: down to move. They found it. They moved. Now, normally,
- 13:19Speaker 2: historical items like that are supposed to be moved by
- 13:22Speaker 2: a team of trained curators who know how to move
- 13:26Speaker 2: valuable art. These are just a couple of guys from
- 13:28Speaker 2: Hex's office. Well, they tried moving it, and they were
- 13:31Speaker 2: bringing it, and they dropped it. At one point, they
- 13:34Speaker 2: dropped it, and it smashed. One whole side of it,
- 13:38Speaker 2: a whole part got cracked. And the fragile, it's a shell.
- 13:42Speaker 2: The fragile shell cracked, and a big chunk is missing.
- 13:45Speaker 2: near Antarctica, so they kind of destroyed it. The resulting
- 13:49Speaker 2: gash appears to be several inches. Now, we're supposed to
- 13:52Speaker 2: be all upset. We're supposed to be mad at Hex
- 13:55Speaker 2: and how dare the press watch the media go after
- 13:57Speaker 2: them for this. The globe was in a backroom warehouse
- 14:02Speaker 2: for how long? 65 years? Nobody was ever going to
- 14:06Speaker 2: see this globe again, so don't worry about it so much. Hey,
- 14:10Speaker 2: we'll take some calls next. 800-321- 800-321-0710 is the number. Hey,
- 14:16Speaker 2: we always love hearing from new callers. If you've never called,
- 14:19Speaker 2: give us a call. 800-321-0710. We'll take some calls next.
- 14:21Speaker 1: 800-321-0710.
