- 0:02Speaker 1: YouTube dot com. Slash at Treehouse on air.
- 0:25Speaker 2: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:29Speaker 2: with us inside the Treehouse. I'm Dan, O'Malley, along with
- 0:32Speaker 2: Trey Trendholm and Jerry called Well, this is the Treehouse
- 0:38Speaker 2: Black Friday Special. We want to accompany you on your
- 0:45Speaker 2: adventure of punching old ladies in the teeth for televisions today. Yeah,
- 0:51Speaker 2: or if you're an old lady who got punched in
- 0:52Speaker 2: the teeth over at television, you could use some Treehouse
- 0:56Speaker 2: and we're here for you. We get you coming and going. Baby.
- 1:00Speaker 2: So let's start today with something especially holiday themed. All right,
- 1:09Speaker 2: let me pulled this up. A senior executive at Campbell
- 1:14Speaker 2: Soup Company was allegedly caught making disparaging remarks about the company.
- 1:21Speaker 1: We're looking at healthy brands, avocado based oil. Healthy. If
- 1:27Speaker 1: you look at our fantry, we still we have four people,
- 1:33Speaker 1: right we have that's for four people. Don't apply more healthy.
- 1:44Speaker 2: The Michigan lawsuit claims executive Martin Valley was secretly recorded
- 1:48Speaker 2: by a former employee.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I don't know he said chicken. It came from a
- 1:55Speaker 1: three D printer and you.
- 1:58Speaker 2: The meeting was recorded by Robert Garz, a former cybersecurity
- 2:01Speaker 2: analyst at Campbell who later filed a discrimination suit against Bally.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Guarza said he met with him expecting to discuss salary.
- 2:07Speaker 2: He alleges he was later terminated after raising concerns about
- 2:10Speaker 2: the executive. Campbell said Bally was placed on temporary leave
- 2:14Speaker 2: as the company conducts an internal investigation. Well, there's nothing
- 2:22Speaker 2: like leading into a holiday and having one of your
- 2:25Speaker 2: top executives being whistleblown all over social media and on
- 2:30Speaker 2: the Washington Post. Fascinating there from Campbell's. Also, timing couldn't
- 2:39Speaker 2: be better because new from Campbell's just in time for
- 2:41Speaker 2: the holiday. Cream of Campbell's executive, full of hate and stupidity,
- 2:47Speaker 2: a dash of corporate cover up, and just a hint
- 2:49Speaker 2: of racism. If you're wondering where the racism comes in,
- 2:53Speaker 2: I'll tell you. Martin Bally is a vice president and
- 2:57Speaker 2: chief information officer at the food giant. He said, hearing
- 3:00Speaker 2: a meeting that Campbell's products were highly processed food for
- 3:03Speaker 2: poor people, that Indian employees were idiots whom he disliked
- 3:06Speaker 2: working with. That's according to the employment discrimination complaint filed
- 3:10Speaker 2: by Garza. Garza said in the lawsuit he was fired
- 3:13Speaker 2: after telling a supervisor about the comments that he planned
- 3:16Speaker 2: to report them to the HR department. So there's your
- 3:21Speaker 2: dash of corporate cover up. And then the more hints
- 3:25Speaker 2: of racism came when Garza's attorney provided The Washington Post
- 3:28Speaker 2: with a lengthy recording other conversation which Bally can allegedly
- 3:32Speaker 2: be heard complaining about an incident during which employees could
- 3:35Speaker 2: not be reached in a technical emergency, saying, effing Indians
- 3:38Speaker 2: they couldn't think for their effing selves. He can also
- 3:42Speaker 2: allegedly be heard suggesting that the company suits possibly used
- 3:45Speaker 2: bioengineered meat. A statement from Campbell's said these statements, if
- 3:53Speaker 2: they were in fact made, are unacceptable. They do not
- 3:55Speaker 2: reflect our values and the culture of our company. And
- 3:58Speaker 2: they also said, no, we use real chicken in our products.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Any claims otherwise or false. Hmm, I can't wait to
- 4:08Speaker 2: rip open my can of Campbell's cream a mushroom from
- 4:11Speaker 2: my green bean casserole. Well, happy freaking holidays. Sorry, you've
- 4:17Speaker 2: got the look of discernment on your face. Do you
- 4:19Speaker 2: smell a stinky?
- 4:21Speaker 1: I mean the what was he he's the CTO.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Basically, yeah, he's yeah, thank you, Jerry Cio, chief information
- 4:32Speaker 2: officer and vice president I'm sorry, vice president and chief
- 4:36Speaker 2: information security officer at.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Campbell, so about as far away as from production as
- 4:42Speaker 1: you could be, I am. I always find it interesting,
- 4:51Speaker 1: you know, when people take recordings into meetings and then
- 4:57Speaker 1: they go, oh, but there's more, Well, why didn't you
- 4:59Speaker 1: really more so, either you're blackmailing the company or I
- 5:04Speaker 1: don't know it just I mean, the guy's an asshole.
- 5:07Speaker 1: He just hurts to be fired. I mean, how long.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Does this internal investigation really need to be? I mean,
- 5:13Speaker 2: this seems pretty cut and dry. Is that him? Bye?
- 5:17Speaker 2: Is it not him? Then you're fine?
- 5:21Speaker 1: But I also, I guess I'm at a point now.
- 5:23Speaker 1: And you know you can get a can of soup
- 5:27Speaker 1: for ninety nine cents. Yeah, I know. It's highly processed.
- 5:30Speaker 1: It's m it is what it is.
- 5:34Speaker 2: There is something to be said about saying the quiet
- 5:38Speaker 2: part out loud is one of the ways to phrase
- 5:41Speaker 2: it these days, which is another way of saying, well,
- 5:44Speaker 2: we're just I'm kind of saying what we all already know.
- 5:47Speaker 2: It's just not really said. It's more understood. I certainly
- 5:52Speaker 2: don't expect, you know, some of Campbell's soup products to
- 5:55Speaker 2: not be high processed. I mean it's canned food. I
- 5:58Speaker 2: mean kind of by definition processed. I also know, and
- 6:04Speaker 2: all the mushrooms I have handled in my life, I've
- 6:06Speaker 2: yet to see one pump out cream. And if I do,
- 6:09Speaker 2: I'm not gonna eat it. But I know the soup
- 6:13Speaker 2: is tasty and it's an essential ingredient in my green
- 6:16Speaker 2: bean cast role. So yeah. The thing is, though, as
- 6:21Speaker 2: a high ranking company executive, you're not supposed to be
- 6:24Speaker 2: the one that says that stuff. You're supposed to waive
- 6:26Speaker 2: the company flag and go rah rah raie gay Campbell
- 6:30Speaker 2: not not talk trash about the ingredients and the company
- 6:34Speaker 2: to fellow employees, subordinates.
- 6:36Speaker 3: No less chief information security officer didn't keep that very secure,
- 6:42Speaker 3: did your brother?
- 6:43Speaker 2: No, stay in your lane, bro, You need to be
- 6:47Speaker 2: worried about the site. Which that's another angle on this story.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Campbell's soup has a cybersecurity department. Oh, twenty first century.
- 6:58Speaker 2: It's a beautiful thing.
- 7:02Speaker 1: But yeah, you know, and then also anything a can
- 7:05Speaker 1: that it's gonna last five years, what do you want?
- 7:11Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right, it's ninety nine cent cream of something
- 7:14Speaker 2: that doesn't typically have cream in it.
- 7:16Speaker 1: So I'm not shock regardless if I want soup or
- 7:23Speaker 1: have there's a recipe that calls for soup. That's my
- 7:26Speaker 1: first you know, I'm probably going towards you grabbing a
- 7:28Speaker 1: can of Campbell's mm hm hm.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Honestly thought roast it's very important part of the recipe.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, I mean, honestly, at the top of my head,
- 7:37Speaker 2: I don't even I can't even think if Progresso or
- 7:42Speaker 2: I think that's the only other soup competitor I can
- 7:44Speaker 2: come up with. At the top of my head, I
- 7:45Speaker 2: don't know if they have cream of product lines or not.
- 7:49Speaker 3: No, they're usually like a full blown you know, it's
- 7:53Speaker 3: MINNESTRONI it's vegetable beef.
- 7:56Speaker 1: You know.
- 7:57Speaker 2: And that's the other thing about what this guy said,
- 7:59Speaker 2: He's like lofing food for poor people. That's what soup is.
- 8:04Speaker 2: That's what soup has always been. It's you know, it's
- 8:07Speaker 2: it's the table scraps that we got from the monarchs
- 8:11Speaker 2: and the rulers and the lords, and then we just
- 8:14Speaker 2: throw it in some water or throw it in some
- 8:17Speaker 2: stock and tried to make it taste as good as
- 8:19Speaker 2: we could.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean chicken stock literally is you know. Oh,
- 8:23Speaker 1: they took the bones that the royalty weren't gonna eat,
- 8:26Speaker 1: and they pull it stock and took whatever meat was
- 8:29Speaker 1: going to be left off the bone.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Yeah, and marketing is not a brand new thing. They
- 8:33Speaker 2: called it chicken stock even back then because bone water
- 8:37Speaker 2: doesn't sell as well. Sure, that's what it is, but
- 8:43Speaker 2: let's not call it what it is. You know. Ah,
- 8:48Speaker 2: Campbell's just out of nowhere, just stepping in it. The
- 8:51Speaker 2: angle on this that does bother me at a real
- 8:55Speaker 2: authentic level is if what this for seeing whistleblower in
- 9:01Speaker 2: terms of a Campbell's Soup controversy. But here we are
- 9:04Speaker 2: if what this complainant is saying is true that he
- 9:08Speaker 2: went in had to have some sort of salary negotiation
- 9:11Speaker 2: and he ends up recording the conversation because the executive
- 9:15Speaker 2: is just just dogging the company left and right, and
- 9:17Speaker 2: he's saying bad things about the Indian employees. And then
- 9:23Speaker 2: if it's also true that he went to another supervisor
- 9:25Speaker 2: to report it and was fired, that's a severe problem.
- 9:31Speaker 2: And that's something that unfortunately is not limited to Campbell's
- 9:34Speaker 2: Soup that's something that happens at corporations. I think every
- 9:37Speaker 2: single day I've seen it happen where the company you
- 9:42Speaker 2: think you might be doing something right, and then about
- 9:47Speaker 2: halfway through the entire process you realize, Oh, the company's
- 9:51Speaker 2: not helping me. They're just protecting their executive yep. And
- 9:59Speaker 2: that's a realization to make.
- 10:02Speaker 1: I mean that that is an unfortunate realization. And corporate
- 10:05Speaker 1: America and government everything is that a lot of a
- 10:09Speaker 1: lot of positions could be eliminated. But otherwise, you know,
- 10:16Speaker 1: people protect their position by screwing other people.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Yeah, mm hmm, corporate one on one baby, Uh, I
- 10:29Speaker 2: had something else and now I just lost it because
- 10:31Speaker 2: I got I got stuck in a memory. What was that?
- 10:38Speaker 2: I could something in my ear? Get all. That's an
- 10:42Speaker 2: odd flutter in the audio stream. I don't know what
- 10:46Speaker 2: that was. Maybe we can fix it and post.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Yeah. If there was ever an industry where this rings true.
- 10:54Speaker 2: It's the media industry, without a doubt. And the sad
- 10:57Speaker 2: thing is, is your only recourse, like this guy, this
- 11:00Speaker 2: employee again, if all this is true, his only recourse
- 11:03Speaker 2: really is to go to the media and say, all right, look,
- 11:06Speaker 2: this is what's happening because I had a problem with
- 11:08Speaker 2: this guy, and I went to this guy to say, hey,
- 11:10Speaker 2: there's a problem with this guy, and that guy fired
- 11:12Speaker 2: me for it. So now that we got corporate cover
- 11:15Speaker 2: up type of situation, and the only recourse if you're
- 11:18Speaker 2: not being treated fairly by the company is to go
- 11:20Speaker 2: to the media. And you got a whistleblow and everyone
- 11:24Speaker 2: looks at you funny because number one, you're whistle blowing
- 11:27Speaker 2: on Campbell's soup, and number two, it's the first time
- 11:29Speaker 2: they've heard you actually say out loud that you work
- 11:31Speaker 2: at Campbell's Soup because it's not exactly high on people's
- 11:34Speaker 2: LinkedIn profile.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Well, there's also there's another factor to this, which is
- 11:41Speaker 1: you may not be popular with the company overall because
- 11:44Speaker 1: if their employees a lot of them are vested in
- 11:46Speaker 1: Campbell's stock, stuff like this tended to be uh, not
- 11:50Speaker 1: so good, So you may have cost everyone some money.
- 11:57Speaker 2: You said, vested in Campbell's stock.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Happy Thanksgiving, everybody in the Treehouse.
- 12:11Speaker 4: Visit us online at Treehouse on Air dot com.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Eight three three Cook DFW is the phone number you
- 12:19Speaker 2: will need to contact Daniel Cook from Cook DFW Roofing
- 12:22Speaker 2: and Restoration to schedule your free roof inspection and property review. Daniel,
- 12:28Speaker 2: When you go to someone's house and you're doing that
- 12:30Speaker 2: free roof inspection, what else are you looking for around
- 12:33Speaker 2: the home?
- 12:33Speaker 5: Well, Dan, I mean, there's a lot of things you
- 12:35Speaker 5: can see from the roof. Obviously, you know, most people
- 12:37Speaker 5: can't see everything, and so that gives us a great
- 12:39Speaker 5: opportunity to look at their flashings, the siding, some of
- 12:43Speaker 5: their windows seals, maybe around that area up there, their chimney.
- 12:47Speaker 5: There's a lot of things on top of roof. But
- 12:49Speaker 5: when we get down we also want to you know,
- 12:51Speaker 5: show the client maybe some potential problems around their property
- 12:54Speaker 5: and like their gutters, maybe their windows seals, their screens,
- 12:57Speaker 5: their garage door trim flashing, could be letting in rodents
- 13:01Speaker 5: because it's starting to warp and come apart. And then
- 13:05Speaker 5: even sometimes some people may have some things on the
- 13:07Speaker 5: inside of their home that they're not sure or what
- 13:09Speaker 5: to do about. You know, it could be cracks along
- 13:11Speaker 5: the corners of the texture or the sheet rock. It
- 13:14Speaker 5: could be some moldings that are falling off around their doors,
- 13:17Speaker 5: flooring issues concerns. Sometimes we get in there and they
- 13:21Speaker 5: have a bathroom that's been leaking for a long time,
- 13:23Speaker 5: and they got a cabinet that's starting to cintegrate. These
- 13:26Speaker 5: are all things that we can look at and give
- 13:28Speaker 5: you an honest, you know, appraisal about and really give
- 13:31Speaker 5: you some ideas on how to get these things fixed.
- 13:33Speaker 5: And so I know you don't like one stop shop.
- 13:36Speaker 5: I don't like that either. It sounds cheap, but honestly,
- 13:38Speaker 5: we are the one stop contractor that can give you
- 13:41Speaker 5: the ideas and what you need to do and how
- 13:44Speaker 5: to get things fixed around your home.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Eight three to three Cook DFW have Daniel and his
- 13:48Speaker 2: very fine team come check out that roof the exterior
- 13:51Speaker 2: of their property, and like you said, if you've got
- 13:53Speaker 2: a couple of questions about something on the inside, they'll
- 13:55Speaker 2: happily take a look at that as well, all for free.
- 13:57Speaker 2: The man's crazy, take advantage of it. Eight three to
- 13:59Speaker 2: three Cook DFW or the website cookdfw dot com.
- 14:11Speaker 4: You're in the treehouse, visit us online at treehouseonair dot com.
- 14:18Speaker 2: This segment of the Treehouse is brought to you by
- 14:20Speaker 2: COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration. To get your free roof inspection
- 14:24Speaker 2: and property review also free get that scheduled today eight
- 14:29Speaker 2: three three cook DFW or the website cookdfw dot com,
- 14:34Speaker 2: and of course tell them you heard about them right
- 14:36Speaker 2: here inside the treehouse.
- 14:39Speaker 6: Uh.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Transportation Secretary is not a position inside any presidential administration
- 14:45Speaker 2: that gets much attention unless there's been some sort of
- 14:48Speaker 2: tragedy or if he or she wants to tell everyone
- 14:53Speaker 2: what to do, especially while traveling over the holidays. And
- 14:56Speaker 2: that's exactly what Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy did recently out
- 14:59Speaker 2: of Prescot on Friends Again.
- 15:01Speaker 7: I call this, uh, just maybe dressing with some respect.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Uh.
- 15:06Speaker 7: You know, whether it's a pair of jeans and a
- 15:08Speaker 7: and a and a decent shirt, I would encourage.
- 15:11Speaker 2: People to maybe I would encourage someone to pay attention
- 15:14Speaker 2: to that dangerous sounding alarm in the background. Did anyone
- 15:21Speaker 2: else pick up on that?
- 15:22Speaker 7: Call this, uh just maybe dressing with some respect. Uh,
- 15:27Speaker 7: you know, whether it's a pair of jeans and a
- 15:29Speaker 7: and a and a decent shirt. I would encourage people
- 15:32Speaker 7: to maybe dress a little better, which encourage us, encourages
- 15:34Speaker 7: us to maybe behave all a little better.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Let's so, I guess the head of the Transportation Department
- 15:41Speaker 2: wants to also be the head of the fashion police.
- 15:44Speaker 2: This this is what you're focusing on. Well, it's it's
- 15:48Speaker 2: it's ahead of traveling season. He's trying to say, you know,
- 15:51Speaker 2: the airports are back to normal after the shutdown, and
- 15:53Speaker 2: let's all kind of work together and make the you know,
- 15:55Speaker 2: the traveling experience as good as possible. I just I
- 15:58Speaker 2: do find it ironic though, you know, when it's the
- 16:00Speaker 2: freedom the people that say freedom, freedom, freedom, are now
- 16:03Speaker 2: telling me how I should dress or what they think
- 16:04Speaker 2: I should dress. Like, I'm more libertarian on that on
- 16:08Speaker 2: that front where it's like, how about you let me
- 16:10Speaker 2: dress how I want to dress, It's not it's a suggestion. Yeah,
- 16:14Speaker 2: it's a suggestion.
- 16:15Speaker 1: I mean, as someone who has traveled a fair amounta
- 16:19Speaker 1: in the last month. Uh, you know, people dress like
- 16:22Speaker 1: shit when they're flying. I mean it looks like people,
- 16:25Speaker 1: you know, they're they're going to bed.
- 16:29Speaker 2: So going to Walmart at three am.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, look good, feel good, act good. I
- 16:34Speaker 1: mean I don't. I don't think it's you know, he's
- 16:37Speaker 1: not mandating what you can and can't do.
- 16:40Speaker 2: He's not mandating it because he can't and he knows that.
- 16:42Speaker 2: But he can certainly suggest it, and he can certainly
- 16:45Speaker 2: feel in his core that we all should be doing this,
- 16:47Speaker 2: and we should do that, and we should act appropriately.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Whereas I say, there is a direct correlation between the
- 16:57Speaker 2: softness of airline seats and the softness of travelers attire.
- 17:03Speaker 2: I don't think we started dressing like crap until the
- 17:06Speaker 2: seats on planes got really uncomfortable. So we decided, you
- 17:09Speaker 2: know what, I need some cushiony sweatpants on this plane
- 17:13Speaker 2: because they keep taking away the foam padding in the chairs.
- 17:19Speaker 1: When were plane seats ever comfortable in coach?
- 17:24Speaker 2: It's not that they were comfortable, it's just that they've
- 17:26Speaker 2: gotten less comfortable.
- 17:29Speaker 1: We've gotten less comfortable because they're smaller, not because of padding.
- 17:33Speaker 2: No, it's padding as well. They've done they've done this
- 17:36Speaker 2: like they'll they've they've made the seat smaller and they
- 17:38Speaker 2: decreased the padding on some airlines, so it's like it's
- 17:42Speaker 2: noticeably thinner. And I remember flying. I think the first
- 17:45Speaker 2: time I flew in a plane was eighty five. I've
- 17:49Speaker 2: never flown first class. I don't know. The closest I've
- 17:52Speaker 2: come is the big front seat on Spirit Airlines.
- 17:57Speaker 7: Uh.
- 17:57Speaker 2: While cushiony, it is not first clas on Delta or
- 18:01Speaker 2: American and it's certainly not you know, Emirates, So I
- 18:06Speaker 2: am very familiar with you know, the coach seats, and
- 18:08Speaker 2: I do know that they used to be more comfortable.
- 18:14Speaker 2: And he can't mandate to airlines hey make comfany your
- 18:16Speaker 2: seats either, So you're right, it's not a massive deal.
- 18:19Speaker 2: It's just a suggestion. But I don't like being told
- 18:25Speaker 2: what to wear and being looked down upon. I don't
- 18:28Speaker 2: like being told what to do at all.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Well, I don't think one has anything to do with
- 18:35Speaker 1: the other. It's judgment, that's what it is. Well, okay,
- 18:43Speaker 1: but that's not Sean Duffy's fault.
- 18:46Speaker 2: He's part of the problem the same way apparently you are.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Because you're looking at what people are wearing and you're
- 18:50Speaker 2: being all judgy and snooty and snotty and stuck up
- 18:54Speaker 2: about people wearing pajamas to the airport.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Guilty is charged.
- 19:00Speaker 2: If I want to wear a snuggie on Spirit, then
- 19:02Speaker 2: goddamn it, I'm gonna wear a snuggie on Spirit because
- 19:05Speaker 2: that's the only thing that's gonna give me any sense
- 19:07Speaker 2: of life because I'm flying Spirit and all I care
- 19:11Speaker 2: about is wear shoes. That is universal put your goddamn
- 19:16Speaker 2: shoes on and lead and keep them on through the
- 19:18Speaker 2: whole flight. Yeah, I don't want your toes on my arm.
- 19:24Speaker 2: So in addition to the if you want us to
- 19:26Speaker 2: dress more comfortably, make the seats more comfortable, I actually
- 19:29Speaker 2: contend you can say, like passengers do wear uniforms to
- 19:33Speaker 2: a certain extent, you just don't recognize them. So like
- 19:37Speaker 2: you can tell the people that are going on vacation
- 19:40Speaker 2: based on what they're wearing. They're wearing the straw hat,
- 19:43Speaker 2: they're wearing, the Jimmy Buffett Margueritaville's shirt. They got the shorts.
- 19:47Speaker 2: That's probably swim trunks as well. There's your vacationers. You
- 19:51Speaker 2: can also tell who's traveling for work. You like, the
- 19:53Speaker 2: guy that Seann Duffy's describing their jeans and a decent
- 19:57Speaker 2: shirt could be a work traveler. I'll be what you wear,
- 20:00Speaker 2: Trey uh. And if there's a like a sport coat
- 20:03Speaker 2: blazer situation, definitely traveling for work. And then you can
- 20:07Speaker 2: tell who's planning on sleeping on the flight because they
- 20:10Speaker 2: have come prepared with their pajamas and the net roll
- 20:13Speaker 2: and basically just a human body bubble.
- 20:18Speaker 1: I mean let's not forget there once was a dress
- 20:22Speaker 1: code to fly mm hmm. And as that has decreased,
- 20:28Speaker 1: you have incidents of unruly travelers has increased. Now is
- 20:32Speaker 1: there a correlation, I don't know, but that is a thing.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I think that's the skank effect. Well, that's where a
- 20:40Speaker 2: lot of the problems come from. And a lot of
- 20:42Speaker 2: the problems have stemmed from unruly passengers because of alcohol
- 20:46Speaker 2: and or drug abuse mixed in, especially with people not
- 20:52Speaker 2: like I can't talk, people not like being told what
- 20:56Speaker 2: to do. There you go there, it is.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Yeah, because ultimately the one thing people really don't like
- 21:05Speaker 1: being told is to sit down and shut them up.
- 21:11Speaker 2: That's true, we don't like that, but sometimes.
- 21:15Speaker 1: It's needed for all of us.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Mm hmm. That's where all of us together. Yeah, that's
- 21:21Speaker 2: where the air marshal is supposed to step in.
- 21:24Speaker 1: There are no more air marshals.
- 21:25Speaker 2: See stop telling us these things. You've taken the fear
- 21:29Speaker 2: out of it, and now the pajama clad idiots have
- 21:32Speaker 2: run them up.
- 21:33Speaker 1: I feel like over the last couple of years the
- 21:37Speaker 1: no air marshals has become blatantly obvious.
- 21:40Speaker 2: It has, but I mean, come on, you need to
- 21:43Speaker 2: you need to pepper one in on occasion and light
- 21:46Speaker 2: somebody up that's dressed like a furry in business class,
- 21:50Speaker 2: just to set an example. So everyone knows there could
- 21:52Speaker 2: be one on this flight, so I should behave accordingly.
- 21:57Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know why we can't just give
- 22:02Speaker 1: the flight attendants tasers.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I mean on paper, that sounds like
- 22:10Speaker 2: a great idea, And when you're on the plane, it
- 22:15Speaker 2: kind of depends on which flight attendant has it. Because
- 22:18Speaker 2: some of them I'd be fine with that. Then there's
- 22:20Speaker 2: some where I'm like, oh God, please don't let that
- 22:22Speaker 2: person have a taser. That would be bad. It'd get
- 22:27Speaker 2: me wrong. I'm not gonna be the one getting taste.
- 22:29Speaker 2: I'm gonna I'm gonna get a good show. I'm gonna
- 22:31Speaker 2: get some good free in flight entertainment. So bring it on.
- 22:37Speaker 1: I mean, just just that sound. It's just but you
- 22:42Speaker 1: know what, it's kind of like crime in Texas. There's
- 22:48Speaker 1: a lot less why because you don't know who's armed.
- 22:53Speaker 2: It's true, it's just the possibility.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Yeah, if you just if you just opened up the
- 22:57Speaker 1: possibility that one of the flight attendant had a taser,
- 23:01Speaker 1: I think people would would would think twice.
- 23:04Speaker 2: The threat of retribution can be just as effective as retribution.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Itself and just one viral clip.
- 23:17Speaker 2: It's also why the stars at night shine so bright
- 23:20Speaker 2: in the State of Texas. It's because it's not stars.
- 23:23Speaker 2: It's because it's random gunfire. You're listening to the Treehouse.

- 25:05Speaker 2: to start today because there's so much good stuff the news.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Let's start with this. A school bus driver allegedly drove
- 25:14Speaker 2: students while drunk, but he says that's not true because
- 25:19Speaker 2: the smell of alcohol on his breath was actually Nike
- 25:22Speaker 2: Will Old school night Will. Huh. I'm not driving your
- 25:35Speaker 2: kids drunk around town on a school bus. I'm just
- 25:38Speaker 2: effed up on Nike Will, just sleepy. How dare you
- 25:43Speaker 2: accuse me of something so terrible? I've been driving these
- 25:51Speaker 2: kids around, you know, for years, and you're gonna that
- 25:58Speaker 2: one actually kicked me right in the gut. Surprisingly, this
- 26:02Speaker 2: was not Florida. This is Maple Lake, Minnesota. The school
- 26:05Speaker 2: bus driver allegedly drove his students to school while intoxicated,
- 26:08Speaker 2: later telling the police the alcohol the students smelled on
- 26:11Speaker 2: him was from nik Will. According to documents obtained by
- 26:14Speaker 2: a local outlet, School Resource officer for Maple Lake Schools
- 26:18Speaker 2: was notified by his student that their bus driver smelled
- 26:21Speaker 2: like alcohol. I would like to I hope that they
- 26:24Speaker 2: said bus driver smells like mommy.
- 26:30Speaker 1: I really do think that's got to be the second
- 26:33Speaker 1: visit you make is if you know how old? Did
- 26:37Speaker 1: it say how all these kids are? Elementary?
- 26:41Speaker 2: The officer contacted the bus company to do charging documents
- 26:45Speaker 2: multiple students, multiple students under the age of sixteen. Didn't
- 26:50Speaker 2: say how many students.
- 26:51Speaker 1: So, if you're a kid and you know what alcohol
- 26:55Speaker 1: smells like.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Through breath, not just whiffing it out the top of
- 27:01Speaker 2: the bottle, but mixed in with you know, human biology, if.
- 27:08Speaker 1: You can go, oh, Jack Daniel, single barrel.
- 27:17Speaker 2: The bus driver smells like my mom, Stanley or dad
- 27:25Speaker 2: or dad at football practice. Yeah, it's a bit of
- 27:29Speaker 2: a hint there. So he's in trouble. He's probably not
- 27:31Speaker 2: going to be driving kids around anymore, if ever ever again.
- 27:38Speaker 2: A woman filed for divorce because her husband decided he
- 27:42Speaker 2: was batman. I tell you, you show me a man with
- 27:47Speaker 2: a dream, and I'll show you a woman who wants
- 27:49Speaker 2: to squash it. The first month of married life for
- 27:54Speaker 2: this couple went smoothly, but then the husband started acting
- 27:57Speaker 2: completely unhinged. He would regularly roam the house in a
- 28:03Speaker 2: Batman costume, force his wife to watch Batman movies, insist
- 28:07Speaker 2: on being called Bruce Wayne, and disappear at night whenever
- 28:11Speaker 2: he saw lights in the sky that he believed were
- 28:14Speaker 2: the bat signal. The last straw came when the woman
- 28:17Speaker 2: woke up in the middle of the night to find
- 28:19Speaker 2: her husband in a Batman suit, standing in the dark
- 28:22Speaker 2: and speaking in a deep brooding voice. After that, she
- 28:26Speaker 2: packed her things, went to her parents' house and filed
- 28:28Speaker 2: for divorce. I say for richer, for poor sickness and
- 28:32Speaker 2: in health. Meet his superhero energy with your own. He's Batman,
- 28:38Speaker 2: You be wonder woman.
- 28:41Speaker 1: At least she didn't file assault charges on him.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Me. That may be the best double n taundured joke
- 28:58Speaker 2: slash punchline in the hit story of this program. And
- 29:01Speaker 2: I am including every iteration of it, Sir, I am
- 29:13Speaker 2: shook right, damn. Look, I don't know you know how
- 29:26Speaker 2: they say that I bet so and so is rolling
- 29:29Speaker 2: over in their grave. Well, I don't think you can
- 29:31Speaker 2: roll over in your grave if you've been cremated. But
- 29:34Speaker 2: I would like to think somewhere in a tube six
- 29:37Speaker 2: feet beneath the surface of a cemetery in Garland, Texas,
- 29:41Speaker 2: a little just occurred.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Man.
- 29:53Speaker 2: All I want to do now is stop the show,
- 29:55Speaker 2: go back and pull the audio and just listen to
- 29:57Speaker 2: it for the rest of the day, maybe the rest
- 29:59Speaker 2: of Black Friday, maybe the whole weekend. All right, well done.
- 30:14Speaker 2: If I was wearing a hat, I would tip it
- 30:16Speaker 2: to you. If I was wearing a cowl, I would
- 30:18Speaker 2: rip it off and go as it is a couple
- 30:24Speaker 2: more pieces of things to play with. The World's Strongest
- 30:41Speaker 2: Woman is a man.
- 30:45Speaker 1: A woman.
- 30:46Speaker 2: It's a man man.
- 30:50Speaker 1: That ain't no woman. It's a man man.
- 30:56Speaker 2: I love twenty twenty five. I know things like this
- 31:00Speaker 2: wouldn't make my heart happy, but they kind of do.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Jammy Booker was disqualified just days after she destroyed the
- 31:07Speaker 2: competition at the Official Strongman Games World Championship in Arlington
- 31:12Speaker 2: over the weekend. The Official Games took place number twenty
- 31:18Speaker 2: through twenty third in Arlington, featured hundreds of athletes across
- 31:21Speaker 2: multiple divisions and competitions, with one of the biggest ones
- 31:24Speaker 2: being the twenty twenty five World Strongest Woman Jammy Booker,
- 31:28Speaker 2: an alleged transgender athlete was the one who came out
- 31:31Speaker 2: on top. However, Jammy was disqualified after the competition, making
- 31:36Speaker 2: Andrea Thompson the overall champion, because it turns out Jammy
- 31:42Speaker 2: was born a man, and in the rules and regulations
- 31:45Speaker 2: for the competition it expressly states you have to compete
- 31:51Speaker 2: with the gender of your birth. I know this is
- 31:55Speaker 2: a hot topic in the world nowadays, and for some reason,
- 31:58Speaker 2: this is you know, split along political ideologies, like everything
- 32:02Speaker 2: seems to be these days. I have a simple solution,
- 32:06Speaker 2: and please Tray Jerry tell me if this is half cocked.
- 32:12Speaker 2: You've got the male division, you've got the female division.
- 32:15Speaker 2: And the controversy in these competitions arises when you've got
- 32:19Speaker 2: someone that was a man at some point, or was
- 32:22Speaker 2: born a man, transitions or is in the process of transitioning,
- 32:26Speaker 2: and then competes in the woman's side and just destroys
- 32:30Speaker 2: all the female competitors to take the top spot. Right.
- 32:33Speaker 2: I don't think there's any examples of a female's you know,
- 32:36Speaker 2: switching sides and dominating the men, at least not in
- 32:40Speaker 2: competitive sports. Can we just have a third category, just
- 32:45Speaker 2: have the trans category and let the trans athlete compete
- 32:48Speaker 2: against themselves and if you know what, because and here's
- 32:51Speaker 2: the other thing to keep in mind, across the world
- 32:54Speaker 2: and competitions that happen every single day, the number of
- 32:59Speaker 2: trans athletes competing in the opposite division of their birth
- 33:04Speaker 2: is extremely small. So if you create a trans division
- 33:08Speaker 2: for these competitions, you may have absolutely zero people in it,
- 33:12Speaker 2: or you may have one. But at least that's the spot.
- 33:17Speaker 2: I feel like that's a compromise, it's a solution for everybody,
- 33:21Speaker 2: and we can get back to debating things that truly matter,
- 33:25Speaker 2: and that is whether or not to wear crocs on
- 33:27Speaker 2: an airline.
- 33:29Speaker 1: That has been proposed and soundly rejected by the trans community.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Because they want to They don't want to be seen
- 33:36Speaker 2: as something other than what they're wanting to be. Yes, well,
- 33:41Speaker 2: I mean at a certain point you just got to
- 33:42Speaker 2: face reality.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Well, I think everyone is entitled to be happy, and
- 33:47Speaker 1: I can't even imagine what it's like to be born
- 33:50Speaker 1: and not feel comfortable in your own skin and feel
- 33:52Speaker 1: like you want to be someone else. And but one
- 33:57Speaker 1: of the things, and quite frankly, it's one of the
- 34:00Speaker 1: things that is now, especially in the LGBT community, there
- 34:04Speaker 1: has been a trend of you know, because most most
- 34:11Speaker 1: trans people want to blend in. They want to be
- 34:14Speaker 1: seen as normal, not and and I think this is
- 34:19Speaker 1: an unfortunate deal of our age of the time we
- 34:21Speaker 1: live in that there are a lot of people who
- 34:23Speaker 1: want attention, but toss out the big one of the
- 34:27Speaker 1: biggest bullshit things of the last ten years was the
- 34:29Speaker 1: notion that there is no difference between sexes.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Yes, there is, everyone knows it absolutely.
- 34:35Speaker 1: And to say that, you know, oh, you know, you
- 34:39Speaker 1: grow you grow up as you know, a biological male,
- 34:42Speaker 1: and then you decide to switch, well, you still have
- 34:45Speaker 1: the benefits, especially if you're post pubescent, and quite frankly,
- 34:48Speaker 1: no one prepubescent. Really, kids shouldn't be making this decision.
- 34:52Speaker 1: You're you're you have the all the biological effects of
- 34:55Speaker 1: being a male, which there is a difference, you know.
- 35:00Speaker 2: I mean good and bad by the way, absolutely.
- 35:03Speaker 1: But when it comes to the physical traits. Serena Williams
- 35:08Speaker 1: is the greatest female athlete ever and one of the
- 35:11Speaker 1: top athletes of all time. But you know when she
- 35:15Speaker 1: sat there and said, yeah, I would get smoked in
- 35:16Speaker 1: straight sex sets by you know, my male counterparts, you
- 35:22Speaker 1: have to know that there's a difference.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Yeah, she's not putting down her entire gender. She's just
- 35:28Speaker 2: speaking honestly about something that for the most part, well
- 35:30Speaker 2: basically kind of know. And I'll tell you this right now, Like,
- 35:33Speaker 2: I love it when like idiot sports guys or just
- 35:36Speaker 2: idiot guys in general say something as stupid as, oh,
- 35:40Speaker 2: I could beat Serena Williams in a tennis match because
- 35:42Speaker 2: I'm a guy, Bubba. But no, no, you couldn't. Joe Schlub, No,
- 35:45Speaker 2: you couldn't. You know, Andy Roddick, Yeah, he probably could.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Pete Sampras would probably beat you know, the Williams sisters.
- 35:55Speaker 2: I'm not. No, I'm not gonna beat I'm not gonna
- 35:59Speaker 2: beat the lowest see tennis player in the world on
- 36:01Speaker 2: the female side, I'm not. And so there are exceptions
- 36:04Speaker 2: to these rules. But at the end of the day,
- 36:07Speaker 2: when you're you know, talking about elite versus non and
- 36:11Speaker 2: just male versus female, yeah, come on, common sense common
- 36:15Speaker 2: sense can still be a thing without it being against
- 36:18Speaker 2: somebody's thing.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Sorry, but yeah, I saw you know. And the woman
- 36:26Speaker 1: who has now been declared champion, uh yeah, she walked
- 36:32Speaker 1: off the podium after this because she was you could tell,
- 36:35Speaker 1: just absolutely kind of disgusted and yeah, they worked their
- 36:40Speaker 1: ass off for this and then all of a sudden
- 36:43Speaker 1: you get outdone by someone who has a biological I
- 36:50Speaker 1: just drive, yeah, thank.
- 36:52Speaker 2: You, you mean it, because look, and this is the
- 36:58Speaker 2: side of the show that we have to bring up,
- 36:59Speaker 2: because this is this is what we do. We'll talk
- 37:01Speaker 2: about something kind of seriously, but then we have to
- 37:02Speaker 2: bring our own twist to stupid on it. And that's
- 37:04Speaker 2: what we're going to do here because I have these
- 37:06Speaker 2: thoughts and I'm sure other people do as well. When
- 37:08Speaker 2: you hear about a story like this where the world's
- 37:10Speaker 2: Strongest Woman wins, where the person that won the World's
- 37:15Speaker 2: Strongest Woman competition is a man, how'd they do that?
- 37:20Speaker 2: Has this person who was born a male that competed
- 37:22Speaker 2: in the female division of the World's Strongest Man? Have
- 37:25Speaker 2: they gone through the complete change? Has has the wiener
- 37:28Speaker 2: been extracted or is it still there? I don't know.
- 37:33Speaker 2: I don't know if you know how closely they're checking.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Are they giving physicals before they lift weights on stage?
- 37:40Speaker 2: But I know in these events they're extremely, extremely difficult, and.
- 37:48Speaker 6: I just wonder, like some of these athletes, like how
- 37:50Speaker 6: do you keep it contained if you're not fully switched
- 37:55Speaker 6: like when you do Like one of these events in
- 37:59Speaker 6: this competition was a log lift press, which is basically
- 38:02Speaker 6: I think it's like a like a clean and jerk
- 38:04Speaker 6: type of thing.
- 38:05Speaker 2: And so you're picking up the log like a dead lift,
- 38:08Speaker 2: and then you're kind of snatching it onto your thighs
- 38:11Speaker 2: and then you're standing up and then pressing it over
- 38:13Speaker 2: your head. How do you keep your from flopping out
- 38:17Speaker 2: at some point during that heavy lift?
- 38:19Speaker 1: You never saw ace Ventura.
- 38:22Speaker 2: That's a hell of a top tray. Neither Einhorn nor Pinkle.
- 38:29Speaker 2: We're doing snatching cleans during the movie, basically just walking
- 38:33Speaker 2: around really tight legged gut tape. Then that needs to
- 38:38Speaker 2: be the next rog Man sponsor, because holy that's some
- 38:42Speaker 2: good tape.
- 38:45Speaker 1: It works for NASA.
- 38:48Speaker 2: If it works for NASA, it'll keep your in place.
- 38:52Speaker 2: It's perfect marketing for all things Treehouse.
