- 0:00Speaker 1: This podcast is recorded on gadigal Land Always was, always
- 0:03Speaker 1: will be Aboriginal Land. Ay Chicks, I'm out and this
- 0:14Speaker 1: is two Broke Chicks, the show that shares life lessons
- 0:16Speaker 1: and tips to help make.
- 0:17Speaker 2: You rich in life. And welcome back to another fabulous episode. Saal,
- 0:23Speaker 2: how are Yeah? I'm good? Been a world world week?
- 0:27Speaker 1: I know. I was literally thinking, I was like dreading
- 0:31Speaker 1: this week because it's probably the first five day week
- 0:35Speaker 1: I've had back in like four weeks, and I was like,
- 0:37Speaker 1: oh no, I've flown too close to the sun. What
- 0:39Speaker 1: am I supposed to do?
- 0:40Speaker 2: This is my life now?
- 0:41Speaker 1: Yeah, like I've been spoiled and now I'm going to
- 0:43Speaker 1: be a brat.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Anyway, this week has gone so fucking quickly, it is
- 0:47Speaker 2: absolutely flown.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I was like, what do you mean this time last
- 0:49Speaker 1: week I was getting hair extensions and a fake tan.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I know, yeah, seriously, it's for me. Now I'm pale
- 0:56Speaker 1: and in a slick bun like what You're.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Definitely not pale and you look beautiful.
- 1:01Speaker 1: That's because this is all a lie. And if I
- 1:04Speaker 1: took this high neck top off, you would never know
- 1:08Speaker 1: a thing. Very scary me naked right now, very.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Scary okay, but today we have a very exciting episode.
- 1:17Speaker 1: If I do say so myself, I've been waiting three years,
- 1:23Speaker 1: turn three years to do my thirty life lessons I
- 1:27Speaker 1: learned by thirty.
- 1:30Speaker 2: So three years ago you did yours and New Chicks
- 1:34Speaker 2: loved it. You guys love a life lessons episode. Like
- 1:37Speaker 2: if we do our end of year wrap up, They're
- 1:39Speaker 2: always one of our best performing episodes because I think
- 1:42Speaker 2: the chicks are thirsty for the wisdom. They want it all.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Me do as I say, not as I do. You know,
- 1:48Speaker 1: we always say that. So before we get into it,
- 1:51Speaker 1: do you want to share with me your obsession of
- 1:53Speaker 1: the week.
- 1:53Speaker 2: My obsession of the week is did you see that
- 1:56Speaker 2: Emma Chamberlain did a new architect architectural digest of her home?
- 2:01Speaker 1: Oh my gosh? Was it in sponsors? Is it because
- 2:04Speaker 1: she just did it?
- 2:04Speaker 2: Did that collab? Yeah?
- 2:06Speaker 1: Like a furniture collection, Yeah she did.
- 2:09Speaker 2: So she did like a house tour like a few
- 2:13Speaker 2: years ago, and it's probably one of the best ad
- 2:16Speaker 2: house tours they've ever done. I think it's up there
- 2:18Speaker 2: with like Troce of Arn's is another really really good one.
- 2:21Speaker 2: And also Kendall Jenner anytime she does it is incredible.
- 2:25Speaker 2: And this one was in collaboration with like that new
- 2:28Speaker 2: partnership that she's done. Yeah, but god, it's good. Yeah,
- 2:33Speaker 2: she has she has really really good style and taste.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Yeah, And obviously, like the thing with.
- 2:40Speaker 2: These ad tours, they're not exactly the most really sick
- 2:44Speaker 2: source of inspiration, but I do still find them a
- 2:47Speaker 2: source of inspiration. Like, for example, she has different motifs
- 2:51Speaker 2: in different rooms of her house, so there's like one
- 2:53Speaker 2: section of her house and there's just little apples everywhere.
- 2:56Speaker 2: It reminds me of like you know when you go
- 2:58Speaker 2: to Disneyland and you have to find the hidden mickey.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Oh yes, it's like that.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Remember that segment on Disney Channel where it's like they
- 3:05Speaker 1: showed you a scene and you had to find the mickey. Yeah,
- 3:07Speaker 1: a scene and then you would like write it in
- 3:09Speaker 1: and I think you would win a prize.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Yeah, good times.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Okay. My obsession of the Week is kind of tied
- 3:14Speaker 1: into the episode, but it's that data shows that people
- 3:18Speaker 1: stop listening to new pop music after the age of
- 3:22Speaker 1: thirty three, which is known as taste freeze.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Yes, I've spoken about this on the podcast Oh My God,
- 3:29Speaker 2: because remember when we did the interview with Emma Edwards
- 3:32Speaker 2: and then we said something about Tate McCrae, oh yeah,
- 3:35Speaker 2: and she was like, I don't know who that is,
- 3:37Speaker 2: but yeah, I honestly, as somebody who's thirty three, I
- 3:41Speaker 2: have to concur to yeah, yeah, I don't think it
- 3:45Speaker 2: counts if you have listened to that artist before.
- 3:50Speaker 1: So it's like like and they've released new music, I
- 3:53Speaker 1: feel like that's different, whereas like if there's a new
- 3:55Speaker 1: hip pop pop person.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Yeah, hip hop happening. Yeah, I do definitely think that
- 4:02Speaker 2: or even if I do discover a new artist, because
- 4:04Speaker 2: I think I said earlier in the year, I've been
- 4:06Speaker 2: trying to like consume more content, especially by like Australian artists,
- 4:12Speaker 2: but it's always in the same genres that I've been
- 4:14Speaker 2: interested in. I'm like, I feel like that kind of
- 4:16Speaker 2: the same thing will.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Be good exactly.
- 4:20Speaker 2: All right, let's get into the app.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Okay, my first life lesson is probably one that has
- 4:31Speaker 1: strown all throughout the podcast and with the incredible content
- 4:35Speaker 1: that I have been able.
- 4:36Speaker 2: To share with you chicks.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Between shitting myself in a totty's bathroom, getting my tits
- 4:42Speaker 1: out of a skin check walking up a main road
- 4:45Speaker 1: with my grin chundies out is that it's only embarrassing
- 4:49Speaker 1: if you're embarrassed. Yea. There is like this quote from
- 4:53Speaker 1: Austin Butler on that Train Interview show, and he says
- 4:58Speaker 1: that embarrassment is an under exploded emotion.
- 5:01Speaker 2: It's character building, hey fielding, and like the ability.
- 5:06Speaker 1: To learn to laugh something off and be like, well,
- 5:10Speaker 1: fuck is like such a skill to have. I like,
- 5:15Speaker 1: only will ever be embarrassed now if I'm like, oh,
- 5:18Speaker 1: I actually think I fucked.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Up, And it's more like if I.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Feel like I've maybe hurt someone's feelings. It's only embarrassing
- 5:25Speaker 1: if you're embarrassed. Love that all.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Of the most embarrassing things that happened to you end
- 5:30Speaker 2: up being the best stories.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Yeah, all the embarrassing things that happened to me end
- 5:34Speaker 1: up being your favorite stories too.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Yeah, do you have a favorite?
- 5:38Speaker 3: Oh?
- 5:39Speaker 2: Out of all the embarrassing stories, the shitting yourself at
- 5:43Speaker 2: Toddy's one was really good because you didn't tell me
- 5:46Speaker 2: the whole truth in the moment you told me that
- 5:48Speaker 2: I was so much. You told me that you got
- 5:50Speaker 2: your period, and I remember I was like, because I
- 5:52Speaker 2: was at home and you were at todd years, so
- 5:54Speaker 2: I was about maybe twenty minutes thirty minutes away from you,
- 5:57Speaker 2: and I was like, do you want me to come
- 5:58Speaker 2: bring you an outfit? Like can you wait in the
- 5:59Speaker 2: bathroom jumping an uber? And now you're like no, it's okay,
- 6:02Speaker 2: She'll go grab one. And then on the podcast you
- 6:04Speaker 2: told me that it was, So that was really really good.
- 6:08Speaker 2: But some of my favorite moments is that Al has
- 6:10Speaker 2: like an uncanny talent for like saying something really embarrassing,
- 6:15Speaker 2: as like a waiter or somebody comes behind the one
- 6:19Speaker 2: time on camera airport and you like scootered your chair
- 6:22Speaker 2: and it made a sound and then you just said
- 6:25Speaker 2: I fired in. And then the guy also came over
- 6:28Speaker 2: and like served us out cooke zeros and was like
- 6:30Speaker 2: oh and You're like, oh no, and you like it.
- 6:33Speaker 2: You couldn't quite get it out and he walked away
- 6:35Speaker 2: and I was just like pounding the table like pissing myself.
- 6:39Speaker 2: So yeah, that was one of my.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Favorite tea he ha ha.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Okay.
- 6:43Speaker 1: My next life lesson is I think you'll also love
- 6:47Speaker 1: this one.
- 6:48Speaker 2: You're gonna love all of them.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Actually is vasoline is the best money you will ever
- 6:54Speaker 1: spend you know how they say, if you could get
- 6:57Speaker 1: locked on a desert island and you could only choose
- 6:59Speaker 1: one product, vasoline, fucking Vasso.
- 7:04Speaker 2: That shit works for so.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Many things, and like when I run out of a tub,
- 7:11Speaker 1: Mummy's gone to the chemist, like I am in the
- 7:15Speaker 1: care getting my vasso.
- 7:17Speaker 2: They also last so long. I was gonna say, the
- 7:20Speaker 2: next time you need a buy one, I will probably
- 7:21Speaker 2: be like forty life lessons from.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Seriously Vasso sponsored me. Well, not with all the things
- 7:26Speaker 1: I use it for. So I actually pulled in multiple
- 7:28Speaker 1: life lessons under this one for all the things that
- 7:30Speaker 1: you can use vasoline for.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Hit me get your notepad all right.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Number one, you can use it underneath your mascara to
- 7:39Speaker 1: extend your lashes, so if you do like get like
- 7:42Speaker 1: a little spool, or you can even just use your
- 7:43Speaker 1: fingertips if you want, and it can make your lashes
- 7:46Speaker 1: look longer when you put mascara on. The next one
- 7:50Speaker 1: is if you have like dry feet, or you want
- 7:53Speaker 1: to even just a little at home pedicure, putting some
- 7:56Speaker 1: Vasso on the bottom movie feet and then putting socks
- 7:59Speaker 1: on and you just say, vaciline, I sound too vrogan
- 8:01Speaker 1: p some basoline on the bottom of your feet and
- 8:03Speaker 1: then socks on and going to sleep. If you do
- 8:06Speaker 1: that for a couple of nights, softest feet in the world,
- 8:08Speaker 1: You'll never have.
- 8:09Speaker 2: To get a pedicure again. Yeah, I need to do that.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I had to do it when I gave myself
- 8:12Speaker 1: chemical birds on the bottom of my feet when I
- 8:15Speaker 1: wash a sheower with exit mold and I didn't rinse
- 8:16Speaker 1: it properly. Another Lafe lesson for you. Next one dry
- 8:21Speaker 1: patches for faked haan. Yeah, put a little bit of
- 8:23Speaker 1: basoline on your elbows, on your ankles. If you get
- 8:26Speaker 1: like little exma dry patches, you can pop them over that.
- 8:30Speaker 1: The next one, which I love is perfume. So if
- 8:33Speaker 1: you put a little like vacline helps extend your perfume.
- 8:37Speaker 1: So if you put like a little drop of vasaline
- 8:39Speaker 1: maybe under your under your chin or on your wrist,
- 8:42Speaker 1: and then you spray perfume over that spot, it extends
- 8:45Speaker 1: the life of your perfume scent.
- 8:47Speaker 2: It's for your perfume. Yeah, it's something to cling on to. Seriously.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Number seven lib bar you know, yeah, I say she's man.
- 8:58Speaker 2: She's as And then number.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Eight is a good old slugging I love just like
- 9:05Speaker 1: I really don't have that much of this, like evening
- 9:08Speaker 1: skincare routine. I don't have that much of a morning
- 9:11Speaker 1: skincare routine. That's okay, I keep it pretty simple. But
- 9:14Speaker 1: my favorite thing is just going shoblem and putting a
- 9:18Speaker 1: shit ton of vasso on my face and going to
- 9:20Speaker 1: bed being like gorgeous. You don't need to get one
- 9:22Speaker 1: of those like seventy dollars sheep masks that like stays
- 9:26Speaker 1: on your face all night because one how you can
- 9:28Speaker 1: roll around in that, Yeah, riddle me that, But.
- 9:31Speaker 2: You just need a little top of vassoline.
- 9:34Speaker 1: And you know what, I'm sure there's more that I
- 9:36Speaker 1: haven't even discovered yet, and I can't.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Wait drop them in the comments part two when I
- 9:41Speaker 2: turned forty, Yeah, I can't wait.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Don't use it for lou Black. They do in puberty
- 9:45Speaker 1: Blues though, Oh yeah do you remember that? Yeah? Yeah,
- 9:49Speaker 1: yeah yeah, and they're like, no, don't do that, not
- 9:53Speaker 1: good for your hu haa.
- 9:54Speaker 2: I love the little mini ones, you know, yes.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Nail and you get Yeah, I'm sure you could probably
- 10:01Speaker 1: use it on your brows too, like brow ju up,
- 10:06Speaker 1: I'm gonna put it in my hair and see what happens.
- 10:08Speaker 2: I bet you'd be able to do it like a
- 10:11Speaker 2: hair mask slipbun. Seriously, you could use it to do
- 10:14Speaker 2: a slip butt. Yeah, definitely. What can't Vassaline do? Episode?
- 10:20Speaker 2: I love it spun to me now, Ambassador, please clip it,
- 10:25Speaker 2: send it all seriously.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Okay. My next life lesson is there is no such
- 10:31Speaker 1: thing as a wrong decision. When I was doing this episode,
- 10:36Speaker 1: I was trying to think of like or like maybe
- 10:39Speaker 1: the things that I've maybe regretted or I wouldn't do again,
- 10:44Speaker 1: or maybe like ways that I would avoid certain situations
- 10:49Speaker 1: to save myself, maybe pain or annoyance or time, money
- 10:53Speaker 1: or a headache. And in all of it, though.
- 10:57Speaker 2: I've realized I actually.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Wouldn't change anything, Like I wouldn't go back and change anything. Like, sure,
- 11:05Speaker 1: there are some things that I'm like, maybe we'll fast
- 11:07Speaker 1: forward that in the memory bank, right, but like, there's
- 11:10Speaker 1: not actually a single thing or decision that I'm not
- 11:15Speaker 1: saying every decision was necessarily the right decision, but there
- 11:19Speaker 1: wasn't necessarily a wrong one either, because you truly can
- 11:25Speaker 1: just make like any decision you make is the one
- 11:29Speaker 1: you make, so you make it the right one. Does
- 11:32Speaker 1: that make sense? Yeah, Well, it's like every Noah Centennio
- 11:35Speaker 1: at like the Nickelodeon Awards being like do what not
- 11:37Speaker 1: with what you have for yourself, but what you do
- 11:40Speaker 1: for others?
- 11:43Speaker 2: It's No, It's like every single decision that you've made,
- 11:47Speaker 2: whether you know, maybe the right or the wrong one
- 11:50Speaker 2: on paper, has led you to where you are now,
- 11:53Speaker 2: and you've learned so many things along the way. And
- 11:56Speaker 2: I think that's a good way to look at it,
- 11:57Speaker 2: because a lot of people look back on their twenties
- 11:59Speaker 2: and like, oh, like I fucked this up or I
- 12:01Speaker 2: wasted this or whatever, And it was like, yeah, honestly.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Because like if I didn't you know, potentially date let's say,
- 12:09Speaker 1: like that person, then I wouldn't have you know, started
- 12:11Speaker 1: being friends with this person, and then through that person,
- 12:14Speaker 1: I wouldn't have met someone else who's like still in
- 12:16Speaker 1: my life now. Like I think, whenever I was looking
- 12:19Speaker 1: at you know, quote unquote the wrong decisions I've made
- 12:23Speaker 1: or things that I'm like, probably wouldn't do that again,
- 12:27Speaker 1: there was always something that was like a tree branch
- 12:31Speaker 1: off that that I was like, but if I didn't
- 12:33Speaker 1: make that decision, then I wouldn't have this now, yeah,
- 12:36Speaker 1: and like I'm so insanely content and happy with my
- 12:42Speaker 1: life now that I'm like, no, no, no, you gotta
- 12:44Speaker 1: go through the graveyard, like and I just really it really,
- 12:49Speaker 1: I think makes you a lot. Well, it makes me
- 12:53Speaker 1: a lot less anxious because I'm like.
- 12:56Speaker 2: It'll be right, honestly, like it'll.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Be fine unless you're doing something disgustingly wrong and illegal,
- 13:04Speaker 1: then like.
- 13:05Speaker 2: You're it will be okay.
- 13:07Speaker 1: And I think there is this And Sarah J.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Mast did her call her Daddy interview.
- 13:13Speaker 1: She was talking about how like when her book started
- 13:15Speaker 1: blowing up, she was getting really anxious and overwhelmed, and
- 13:19Speaker 1: because obviously with you know, more fame and popularity, there
- 13:23Speaker 1: comes more scrutiny and more people being like me, I
- 13:27Speaker 1: hate Cassie, in which I'm like, how could you? Well,
- 13:31Speaker 1: just like a lot of people expecting a lot from her,
- 13:33Speaker 1: right and her therapist made her right out what was
- 13:37Speaker 1: like the worst case scenario, like if all of this
- 13:39Speaker 1: went away, what would happen? And when she wrote it
- 13:42Speaker 1: all out, she realized she was like, oh, like that's
- 13:46Speaker 1: actually not that bad.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Yeah, Like I will be fine. I'll be fine even
- 13:49Speaker 2: if the worst case scenario happened, exactly.
- 13:51Speaker 1: And you know, my favorite stat ever is that eighty
- 13:53Speaker 1: five percent of the things that we worry about never happen.
- 13:57Speaker 1: A majority of the things like that fifteenth, If that
- 14:00Speaker 1: does happen, majority of people actually handle it better than
- 14:03Speaker 1: they thought they would.
- 14:04Speaker 2: So truly, there is to me, there's.
- 14:06Speaker 1: No such thing as the wrong decision. You just kind
- 14:09Speaker 1: of smack it up, smacking in.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Figure it out, Yeah, exactly. They make you who you're
- 14:14Speaker 2: who you are today.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Seriously doing the things you did as a child is
- 14:38Speaker 1: the key to happiness. Welcome to your thirty Welcome to
- 14:42Speaker 1: your fucking thirties, babe.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Literally, Yeah, being thirty is doing and enjoying the things
- 14:47Speaker 2: that you did when you were thirteen, but not being embarrassed.
- 14:50Speaker 1: By it seriously and fucking oath Like I when I
- 14:56Speaker 1: am truly at my happiest, I'm like literally just doing
- 15:00Speaker 1: the things I did when I.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Was like fourteen years old.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm like it all comes full circle, I think,
- 15:06Speaker 1: because when you turn twenty or when you're in your twenties,
- 15:09Speaker 1: it's such this like enveloping era of self discovery of
- 15:14Speaker 1: like who do I want to be? And I think
- 15:17Speaker 1: it's this really nice like circle life that you'd come
- 15:21Speaker 1: back and you're like, oh no, who I was was
- 15:23Speaker 1: actually actually good?
- 15:25Speaker 2: Yeah, she was all along, she was reading fasting books. Yeah, Jessica.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Okay, my next one, get in visiline and wear it. Yeah,
- 15:39Speaker 1: you know, I was. Look, it's not my fault. Okay,
- 15:43Speaker 1: nothing ever is. But I got in visilin and I
- 15:46Speaker 1: was really bad at wearing it. But once I locked in,
- 15:49Speaker 1: I locked the fuck in, and it is the best
- 15:53Speaker 1: thing I ever did. Like, I really was, like I
- 15:57Speaker 1: would notice my teeth so much, and I know it's
- 16:00Speaker 1: such like a small vanity thing, but when you lock
- 16:03Speaker 1: into something you don't like about yourself, especially with how
- 16:06Speaker 1: much we see ourselves on camera, I'm like, yeah, exactly,
- 16:10Speaker 1: but it's also like a very popular insecurity for a
- 16:13Speaker 1: lot of people. Yeah, but now I love looking at
- 16:17Speaker 1: my teeth.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Yeah, and you're like, I did that, I did the
- 16:20Speaker 2: hard work. Yeah. Yeah, it's the fruits of my labor. Seriously,
- 16:23Speaker 2: it's not a fun process.
- 16:25Speaker 1: I'll tell you that. Like, it's definitely fucking annoying. But
- 16:29Speaker 1: anyone that's like no, you don't even for me, maybe
- 16:32Speaker 1: that is the process for them.
- 16:33Speaker 3: For me.
- 16:33Speaker 1: I was like, let's let's wrap this up. Yeah, I
- 16:36Speaker 1: was ready to get a lot.
- 16:37Speaker 2: I don't know anybody who's enjoyed the experience.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Who loves putting in their retainer. Yeah, I don't know anyone.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Yeah, but you're reaping the benefits now.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Yeah. Getting insurance to go and do all like the
- 16:50Speaker 1: things that I've been putting off and wanting to do
- 16:53Speaker 1: was like the best money I've ever spent. Also, we
- 16:57Speaker 1: spoke about this in an insurance episode a while ago.
- 17:00Speaker 1: But if you don't get health insurance, look into it
- 17:03Speaker 1: because this is like the TLDR version. If you don't
- 17:06Speaker 1: get health insurance. I think by the time you turn
- 17:08Speaker 1: thirty one, you actually get like a fee on top
- 17:12Speaker 1: of that because you never for the rest of your life. Yeah,
- 17:15Speaker 1: because you never got it beforehand.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's like a tax.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll put it.
- 17:21Speaker 2: There's a there will be ato guides out there. We'll
- 17:24Speaker 2: put a link in the show notes so that you
- 17:25Speaker 2: can look into it.
- 17:26Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah, and honestly, like best money out because
- 17:31Speaker 1: I just stopped smiling with my teeth.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Oh, I hate that. It's such a beautiful smile too. Sorry.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Getting earnest I also I do love imperfect teeth on other.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Pick, Yes, so again's really upset when celebrities get veneers.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Yes, when Nellie got his veneers, it really changed the
- 17:53Speaker 2: What did you.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Think about when Miley Cyrus fixed her teeth?
- 17:56Speaker 2: She's always had her teeth have changed a lot over
- 17:59Speaker 2: the years, She's had lots of different What about asat Rocky,
- 18:07Speaker 2: I didn't really know him before, but so that's okay,
- 18:10Speaker 2: it looks good.
- 18:11Speaker 1: A Rocky is two point?
- 18:17Speaker 2: Yeah, hand Rihana deserve each other. I'm really happy for them.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Like, if there is anyone that deserved to bag Rihanna,
- 18:25Speaker 1: it's him. Can you believe they wake up next to
- 18:28Speaker 1: each other in the morning.
- 18:29Speaker 2: What do you reckon they talk about like just cool
- 18:33Speaker 2: ship that we couldn't even fat American.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:35Speaker 1: My next life lesson I really hope you backed me
- 18:37Speaker 1: on this is that the Moscow Mule is the most
- 18:42Speaker 1: underrated cocktail.
- 18:44Speaker 2: In the world.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I truly believe we need to bring the Moscow Mule
- 18:51Speaker 1: back into a hierarchy.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:53Speaker 1: I like it.
- 18:53Speaker 2: I don't know if it's the most underrated. Yes it is.
- 18:57Speaker 1: You know, I'm not a huge ginger beer girl.
- 18:59Speaker 2: It's so but neither am I, But in a.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Moscow mule it's nice. It's just all the elements work
- 19:06Speaker 1: together because it's vodka, lime and gingerbeer, heeps ices of ice,
- 19:14Speaker 1: and then maybe a little bit of mint if you're lucky.
- 19:16Speaker 2: It needs mint. It needs mint to bring it all together.
- 19:19Speaker 2: And in that brass cup, shut out that you really
- 19:23Speaker 2: that the fuck out? My mouth is literally tingling y.
- 19:27Speaker 1: I love a mosk aMule. If you are hungover, order
- 19:31Speaker 1: a Moscow a mule. Well, if you're like, if you're
- 19:33Speaker 1: hungover and you have to go out again the next day,
- 19:36Speaker 1: I'm not saying that.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Of the dog, So just drink every day.
- 19:41Speaker 1: That's what I learned. No, if you have to go
- 19:44Speaker 1: out and you went out the night before, maybe you
- 19:45Speaker 1: got a little bit lippy and you're like, oh yum.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and then two friends mouth and you're like, oh,
- 19:53Speaker 2: first night favor.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Yeah, and you're like the first drink that you have
- 19:56Speaker 1: to have and you're looking at it and you're like,
- 19:59Speaker 1: I want to do that. I don't want to do
- 20:01Speaker 1: that at all. Get a Moscow mule.
- 20:03Speaker 2: It's like a breath of fresh air.
- 20:06Speaker 1: I don't know why I like breath. There's a breath
- 20:09Speaker 1: of fresh air.
- 20:10Speaker 2: What was that cocktail that we had when we were
- 20:12Speaker 2: celebrating six hundred k It was really limey. Oh, it's
- 20:20Speaker 2: like it's not is it a capricosa? No, caprioscar, cabrioscar.
- 20:24Speaker 2: That's good, that's good.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Moscow mule is better.
- 20:28Speaker 2: I think, why does he not want to talk about
- 20:31Speaker 2: Moscow mules? Are they a little bit like kind of
- 20:35Speaker 2: like a Cosmo, Like they're a bit parse?
- 20:36Speaker 1: Now, No people drink moscow mules.
- 20:40Speaker 2: I think so. I think it's kind of like a
- 20:43Speaker 2: Cosmo or even a Mehido, Like I think they're not
- 20:45Speaker 2: They're not cool.
- 20:46Speaker 1: No, I think mehidos and cosmos are cool.
- 20:49Speaker 3: I think they're a bit what everyone drinks aperol sprits exactly,
- 20:56Speaker 3: and we don't like that. Sprits is fucking disco.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Write that down on the life lesson Moscow Mule, delicious apparel, sprits, vomit.
- 21:06Speaker 2: I can't get around it.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Anyone that says they like an aperol sprits is lying.
- 21:11Speaker 1: It's like when every boy turns eighteen and they're like, yeah,
- 21:17Speaker 1: every single guy I've ever like spoken to, I was like,
- 21:20Speaker 1: did you like beer when you first started drinking?
- 21:22Speaker 2: They're like, no, I start drinking it. That's what I
- 21:26Speaker 2: think apperol sprits is are. It's just like they taste
- 21:31Speaker 2: like the rind of an orange. They taste like the
- 21:34Speaker 2: bottom of a car tire. That too, like chemicals stuck.
- 21:39Speaker 1: In the back of my throat. All sprits stands think
- 21:45Speaker 1: of most mules, solllimey, Well fine, I'm just gonna leave.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Also the mule.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Also the mule. Okay. My next life lesson is the
- 22:01Speaker 1: where are your sombers theory? H This is when I've
- 22:05Speaker 1: coined myself.
- 22:07Speaker 2: I like it.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Basically, it's the fact of where are your sombers? Now?
- 22:12Speaker 1: You know how we're all going, Oh, look at this
- 22:15Speaker 1: new colorway. It's pink and red on this one's purple
- 22:17Speaker 1: and green and blue and brown and all of that stuff.
- 22:21Speaker 1: If you still have your sombers, credit to you, love you.
- 22:24Speaker 1: I still have mine?
- 22:25Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 22:26Speaker 1: Do I necessarily reach for them? Or did I need
- 22:31Speaker 1: them in three different colorways? Gonna go ahead and say no, Yeah.
- 22:38Speaker 1: That This could probably be applied to any trending product.
- 22:45Speaker 1: And it's the fact of you need to know whether
- 22:48Speaker 1: you can trust yourself when you're asking the question of
- 22:51Speaker 1: will I still love this in five years, because in
- 22:54Speaker 1: my twenties I was a liar.
- 22:57Speaker 2: I lie to myself.
- 22:58Speaker 1: I lie. I was like, no, we used toize this
- 23:01Speaker 1: poke and I'd be like, yes of I was like
- 23:03Speaker 1: a little kid asking it's mum if it could get
- 23:05Speaker 1: the new brats. I'll be like, no, no, please, I'll
- 23:07Speaker 1: play with it every day and I love it so
- 23:09Speaker 1: much and I actually don't have that one yet. Yeah.
- 23:11Speaker 1: And then and then I got bigger money and I
- 23:13Speaker 1: kept doing it. Yeah, and it's like I did this
- 23:16Speaker 1: with you know when I think I was like twenty
- 23:18Speaker 1: one and I got a bonus at work and I
- 23:21Speaker 1: bought a designer handbag, but I still ended up. I
- 23:25Speaker 1: think I still bought it on like a buy and
- 23:27Speaker 1: hour pay later and worse money I've ever spent in
- 23:32Speaker 1: my life. I'm like, what were you thinking? Because I
- 23:35Speaker 1: never used it, so I was too scared of anything
- 23:38Speaker 1: happening to it. And also it was fucking tiny.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Yeah you have anything in it? Yeah.
- 23:43Speaker 1: So it's like all of those things you need to
- 23:46Speaker 1: kind of do, like a performance review for yourself and
- 23:49Speaker 1: be like, can I trust myself to actually be be
- 23:54Speaker 1: honorable in my response to do I like this or
- 23:57Speaker 1: is it just trending. Yeah.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Yeah, because if you are thinking.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Where are my sombers or where is that you know,
- 24:05Speaker 1: trending product that I bought, and I was like, no,
- 24:08Speaker 1: I'm going to love this forever. If you don't know
- 24:10Speaker 1: where it is, then I'm like, we need to we
- 24:13Speaker 1: need to build our trust.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Yeah, or you can't remember the last time you wore it.
- 24:17Speaker 1: That kind of brings me into my next life lesson,
- 24:21Speaker 1: and it's that you can't buy confidence, satisfaction or a personality.
- 24:26Speaker 2: So true. Say it louder for the people on the back, please. Yeah.
- 24:31Speaker 1: I have spent way too much money in my twenties
- 24:37Speaker 1: trying to be confident or interesting, and especially it comes
- 24:44Speaker 1: from like the social media pinterest, you know esque vibe
- 24:51Speaker 1: of wanting to be cool. I was going to say
- 24:53Speaker 1: the cool girl strikes a girl strikes again of just
- 24:57Speaker 1: like this idea of like walking in to work and
- 25:01Speaker 1: being cool and looking like, you know, I'm on the
- 25:04Speaker 1: way to my journalist jar that I'm like, you know,
- 25:07Speaker 1: Andy Anderson and blah blah blah blah blah, which like
- 25:10Speaker 1: that's fine, be confident, but you're not going to get
- 25:13Speaker 1: that from buying things. Yeah, or like you can't buy
- 25:16Speaker 1: things to give yourself a personality. Yeah, and I would
- 25:21Speaker 1: definitely like camellion myself into these different aesthetics or personalities
- 25:28Speaker 1: of like who I thought I wanted to be, rather
- 25:31Speaker 1: than finding things that met the personality that I already had.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Well, those are always the times that you get the
- 25:38Speaker 2: most confidence as well, Like when you're wearing something that
- 25:41Speaker 2: is truly unique or something that you've probably owned for
- 25:44Speaker 2: years because it's really a piece that you feel like
- 25:46Speaker 2: represents your personality, or when you're like talking about something
- 25:50Speaker 2: that you're truly passionate and interested in, Like that's when
- 25:53Speaker 2: people really connect with you, and people can see right
- 25:56Speaker 2: through that, Like you know, when you can tell that
- 25:58Speaker 2: somebody I'm talking about myself as well in these instances
- 26:02Speaker 2: like even looking back in a photos and stuff like that,
- 26:05Speaker 2: but you can tell someone who has put a lot
- 26:07Speaker 2: of effort into an outfit, which it's just like you
- 26:11Speaker 2: can tell that it's not like it's a kind of
- 26:13Speaker 2: like a costu authentic.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's yeah, I know what you mean
- 26:16Speaker 1: that It's like it's more that it's not actually who
- 26:21Speaker 1: they are because I love also a great fucking fit.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Oh of course, I can't appreciate a fit, you know,
- 26:27Speaker 1: But I from my experience, it was like what do
- 26:31Speaker 1: I think someone like X would wear?
- 26:34Speaker 2: And it was never actually something that I would wear.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Whereas now I feel like I'll go somewhere and people
- 26:40Speaker 1: be like, oh, yep, the double denim or like oh
- 26:42Speaker 1: the cowboy boods or the red or whatever, and it's
- 26:45Speaker 1: like that uniform is like there now, and it's not
- 26:49Speaker 1: necessarily like buying things to try and fit a mold
- 26:53Speaker 1: of someone that I think is cool or hip or
- 26:58Speaker 1: hot or whatever it is. And trying to buy confidence
- 27:04Speaker 1: is like the quickest way to not only be broke,
- 27:08Speaker 1: but to also kill your confidence, because that's just not
- 27:12Speaker 1: going to happen. And I also mean this with like
- 27:14Speaker 1: even you know, when we did that episode about hobbies
- 27:17Speaker 1: or being like I want to be this person. I
- 27:19Speaker 1: want to like, you know, knit an entire sweater or
- 27:23Speaker 1: whatever it is, and it's like, but do you or
- 27:26Speaker 1: do you want to say you have knitted an entire sweater?
- 27:30Speaker 1: Like where's the line of what you actually want to
- 27:32Speaker 1: do versus what you just want to be able to
- 27:34Speaker 1: say that you did.
- 27:35Speaker 2: I remember when we had all Right Hay on the show,
- 27:38Speaker 2: and we were talking to him about how he picked
- 27:40Speaker 2: up his hobby of reading, and he'd like, never really
- 27:44Speaker 2: read before, and then he actually tried it and realized
- 27:46Speaker 2: he was obsessed and it became like a huge passion
- 27:49Speaker 2: for him. And we were like, oh, do you have
- 27:51Speaker 2: any advice to anybody who wants to be a reader
- 27:53Speaker 2: and can't get into it? And he was like, don't read.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Like if you try to read and you can't get
- 27:58Speaker 2: into it, like maybe you don't like reading, Like you
- 28:01Speaker 2: don't have to force yourself into these things if it's
- 28:04Speaker 2: that much work.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Yeah, And it's interesting how tasks, hobbies, and activities have
- 28:09Speaker 1: also become trending topics and trending activities. And it's like,
- 28:14Speaker 1: that's not to say you can't try it. No, it's
- 28:18Speaker 1: about you know, putting a square peg in a round
- 28:21Speaker 1: hole Missy Higgins shout out. But it's like, I don't
- 28:25Speaker 1: think that's the lyric. It's like triangle trying to fit
- 28:28Speaker 1: into a circle.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Ego.
- 28:31Speaker 1: I was going to sing it, and I was like
- 28:32Speaker 1: triangle trying to squeeze into a circle. I love her
- 28:37Speaker 1: so much. Yeah, it's not about saying you can't try
- 28:40Speaker 1: new things. It's about like feeling like you have to
- 28:44Speaker 1: do everything everyone else is doing in order to fit in.
- 28:48Speaker 1: And that also comes into so much that it's like
- 28:51Speaker 1: this sense of belonging, Like are you spending money in
- 28:54Speaker 1: an attempt to belong And is that where your confidence
- 28:57Speaker 1: is coming from? Because I think for me that's what
- 28:59Speaker 1: it was. It's like even when I got my first
- 29:02Speaker 1: full time job, I went out and bought all these
- 29:03Speaker 1: like heels and like clothes and just shit that I
- 29:07Speaker 1: would like have never worn, but I bought it because
- 29:11Speaker 1: I thought that's what I needed to look like in
- 29:13Speaker 1: order to fit in and be professional. Yeah, but really
- 29:17Speaker 1: I was putting on a costume every single day, and
- 29:20Speaker 1: I think that hurts your confidence a lot more in
- 29:23Speaker 1: the end.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely.
- 29:43Speaker 1: The best way to make a man fold is to
- 29:46Speaker 1: take your jacket off while uninterrupted eye contact, fold straight
- 29:53Speaker 1: away the man.
- 29:56Speaker 2: One one man has folded, because I only love one man.
- 30:00Speaker 2: You pass this information to a lot of our single days.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Can you give us a tutorial like I can't because
- 30:07Speaker 2: I'm wearing like a shirt that's okay, and also some
- 30:10Speaker 2: people might just be listening. So basically, fusty step.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Basically you have to wait for them to be talking,
- 30:17Speaker 1: so you have to ask them a question, like when
- 30:19Speaker 1: you're on a day or whatever, and be like, oh, so,
- 30:22Speaker 1: like how long have you been playing soccer for? Yeah,
- 30:25Speaker 1: they're gonna start talking, and as they're talking, you're noddy.
- 30:27Speaker 1: You locked in on eye contact and you just slowly
- 30:31Speaker 1: peel your jacket off your shoulders and like shrug it
- 30:34Speaker 1: off and then but don't break eye contact. When I
- 30:39Speaker 1: tell you, you can see their brain melting out their ears.
- 30:42Speaker 2: It's so good.
- 30:44Speaker 1: I just do it to my boyfriend to fuck with
- 30:46Speaker 1: him sometimes and he's like, don't do that.
- 30:48Speaker 2: You're like, I still got it. They literally short circuit
- 30:51Speaker 2: in front of your eyes and it's the best thing ever.
- 30:55Speaker 1: If you want to make a man fold, take your
- 30:58Speaker 1: jacket off and don't break cay contact. It hits the
- 31:01Speaker 1: nail on the head every single time.
- 31:03Speaker 2: I love that. Where did you learn that or did
- 31:06Speaker 2: you just figure it out yourself?
- 31:07Speaker 1: I definitely didn't invent it. I can't remember where I
- 31:12Speaker 1: saw it. It might have been on TikTok. It might
- 31:14Speaker 1: have been in like a fucking Dolly magazine. No not Dolly,
- 31:16Speaker 1: that's for sixteen year olds, but like, it might have
- 31:18Speaker 1: been in a magazine or something. Yeah, but I remember
- 31:22Speaker 1: the first time I did it, and I was like, well, shit,
- 31:25Speaker 1: that works. I reckon.
- 31:27Speaker 2: I know we said for to make a man fold,
- 31:29Speaker 2: but it would work on anyone. Oh yeah, whatever your preference.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Yeah. And I've told like so many people to do
- 31:38Speaker 1: that and the report back I think the only person
- 31:41Speaker 1: it didn't work was Maddie.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Oh that's because she was wearing an awkward jacket.
- 31:46Speaker 1: I think I couldn't get it all.
- 31:48Speaker 2: You're wearing one of those like military military style jackets.
- 31:51Speaker 2: I have like a thousand buttons, Like, that's not it
- 31:53Speaker 2: needs to be something that you can't keep your arms tight. Yeah,
- 31:56Speaker 2: that's the opposite. Yeah yeah, yeah, Okay.
- 32:01Speaker 1: My next life lesson, and this was a read for myself,
- 32:05Speaker 1: is that being busy, messy, or chaotic is not a
- 32:08Speaker 1: personality trait. Yeah, and this is definitely like your twenties
- 32:14Speaker 1: are busy, messy and chaotic, but pushing that onto other
- 32:18Speaker 1: people as like a way to kind of account for
- 32:23Speaker 1: maybe not necessarily showing up or being on time or
- 32:27Speaker 1: being as present as you should be in your friendships, Like,
- 32:30Speaker 1: isn't a personality trait? Like you don't you can't just
- 32:33Speaker 1: be like, oh my god, I'm just so chaotic, Like
- 32:36Speaker 1: sorry I didn't show up to your birthday. Yeah, like,
- 32:38Speaker 1: oh my god, I'm just so busy. Sorry I didn't
- 32:41Speaker 1: call you when I said I would. Like, obviously there
- 32:45Speaker 1: is an asterisk to this that whenever things are like
- 32:48Speaker 1: going on in your life and things are genuinely really
- 32:51Speaker 1: really difficult and you're struggling to manage everything, that's obviously
- 32:54Speaker 1: a different situation. But I now in my ripe old
- 33:00Speaker 1: age of thirty, have realized like how much it is
- 33:04Speaker 1: really meaningful to show up and be there even if
- 33:07Speaker 1: your life is busy, messy and chaotic, and that like
- 33:11Speaker 1: doing that for your friends and being able to make
- 33:13Speaker 1: that time because there is time. Yeah, there is always time,
- 33:17Speaker 1: Like being busy is not a personality trait, and being
- 33:22Speaker 1: able to be like like I we talk about this
- 33:25Speaker 1: all the time. People are like, oh, how's your week
- 33:27Speaker 1: going or what are you doing?
- 33:28Speaker 2: And we're like all busy and it's like shut up,
- 33:32Speaker 2: and I'm anyone else, I'm just saying this about myself. Well,
- 33:35Speaker 2: that's like it's something that episode is a reactive of
- 33:38Speaker 2: things that you or we've done.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Yeah that it's like imagine getting to the end right
- 33:44Speaker 1: sparkle the end sparkle, and thinking, oh, how is your life? Oh? Busy?
- 33:50Speaker 2: Oh I hate that? Right?
- 33:54Speaker 1: Yeah, like oh how is your like ah a bit messy,
- 33:58Speaker 1: bit chaotic?
- 34:00Speaker 3: What like that?
- 34:02Speaker 1: If those are the three ways that like you're living
- 34:04Speaker 1: your life for me, I'm like, I don't want to
- 34:07Speaker 1: do that. I want it to be fun. I want
- 34:09Speaker 1: it to be light. I want to be sparkling, and
- 34:11Speaker 1: that's not going to happen all the time because without
- 34:13Speaker 1: you know, shade, we don't have light. But it really,
- 34:18Speaker 1: it's like really something that I think I'm even just
- 34:20Speaker 1: still learning not to like live by those things as
- 34:23Speaker 1: a form of life and.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Your default setting. Yes, exactly, Yeah.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Okay, oh this one I really loved. So this life
- 34:33Speaker 1: lesson is the helped, heard, or hugged method. This one
- 34:39Speaker 1: I really had to had to learn because of just
- 34:42Speaker 1: the way that I like try to consolet friends. So basically,
- 34:46Speaker 1: the helped, heard, or hugged method is that when someone
- 34:50Speaker 1: you love comes to you with a problem, they either
- 34:53Speaker 1: want to.
- 34:53Speaker 2: Be helped, hugged, or heard.
- 34:56Speaker 1: And so often it's very easy for me, any of
- 35:00Speaker 1: us to fall into the helped category, where we start
- 35:04Speaker 1: giving people advice or we start telling them what we
- 35:07Speaker 1: think they should do, when that might not necessarily be
- 35:11Speaker 1: what they're after. Maybe they just want to be hugged,
- 35:14Speaker 1: or maybe they just want to be heard, and it
- 35:17Speaker 1: can cause friction in those relationships when you don't know
- 35:21Speaker 1: what they want. So when someone comes to you with
- 35:24Speaker 1: a dilemma or a problem or a rant, asking them
- 35:27Speaker 1: do you want.
- 35:28Speaker 2: To be helped, hugged or heard can really.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Also help you understand what that friendship needs, because also
- 35:35Speaker 1: on the other end is the frustration of when you
- 35:39Speaker 1: sit there and your friends dating a fucking loser and
- 35:43Speaker 1: you're sitting there being like, but didn't we have this
- 35:45Speaker 1: conversation like two weeks ago and I thought I gave you,
- 35:50Speaker 1: like I really put in a lot of effort to
- 35:52Speaker 1: giving you advice, And this is very upsetting for me
- 35:54Speaker 1: to see you upset that. It's like, also, maybe you
- 35:58Speaker 1: don't need to invest that much in it and just
- 36:00Speaker 1: give them a hug and help them feel.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Heard, yeah, or just smile and nod and listen and
- 36:05Speaker 2: yeah yeah. And you can literally ask people that, yes,
- 36:09Speaker 2: do you want to be helped hugged to her? Yeah,
- 36:11Speaker 2: Like do you actually want help or do you just
- 36:13Speaker 2: want to vent? Yeah, Like I was having a.
- 36:15Speaker 1: Rant to my mum the other day about something and
- 36:18Speaker 1: she said a problem with somelthing. I was like, no,
- 36:19Speaker 1: I just want to bitch. You want some thing please. Yeah.
- 36:23Speaker 2: It's like when you are trying to vent to your boyfriend.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Like men don't have this quite wide in I don't
- 36:29Speaker 2: think as much. You'll rant to them about something and
- 36:32Speaker 2: then they come to you with like all of these
- 36:34Speaker 2: logical things.
- 36:35Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, you're ruining it ruined.
- 36:39Speaker 2: I just wanted to have a ted talk in the
- 36:41Speaker 2: living room.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Literally number nineteen. All you need is a brown lip
- 36:47Speaker 1: liner and some battline. But a brown liftliner is one
- 36:54Speaker 1: of those products that can also do everything. It can
- 36:59Speaker 1: do your lips, you can do your brows, It can
- 37:03Speaker 1: do your eyeliner, It can do your nose contal, it.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Can do your freckles.
- 37:06Speaker 1: It could even do a little bit of a face
- 37:08Speaker 1: bronzing if you've got a really if you don't mind
- 37:11Speaker 1: using half of it. But it's like the one thing
- 37:15Speaker 1: that I always needed my makeup bag is a brown lipliner.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Otherwisean fucked I on the train and take me high.
- 37:22Speaker 1: What's your go to again. Oh thank you for asking.
- 37:25Speaker 1: It's the Morphy Sweet Tea lipliner. I think it's like
- 37:29Speaker 1: ten bucks and you can get it from Macco, you
- 37:32Speaker 1: can buy it straight from Morphy. It is just the
- 37:34Speaker 1: most perfect like neutrally but still a little bit warm
- 37:38Speaker 1: brown lipliner. And it was discontinued for a little while
- 37:43Speaker 1: and it came back and I.
- 37:44Speaker 2: Was so grateful because I had this literal like nub.
- 37:49Speaker 1: It was like a pinky toenail at the end, like
- 37:53Speaker 1: it was like I could have stuck it on my
- 37:54Speaker 1: toe and someone said, oh, nice pedicure, like it was
- 37:58Speaker 1: barely do And when it came back, I think I
- 38:01Speaker 1: bought ten I was like, I know I'm being selfish,
- 38:04Speaker 1: but I need this. It's the Hunger Games. Okay. Anyway,
- 38:09Speaker 1: they ended up re stocking and it came back, and
- 38:11Speaker 1: that was a really unnecessary thing, but at least I
- 38:13Speaker 1: always had one on me around my house. There is
- 38:16Speaker 1: just Morphy Sweet Tea lip lineders like sprinkled around next
- 38:19Speaker 1: to all my dead contact lenses. Yes, rct on that
- 38:22Speaker 1: note as well is a signature scent is better than
- 38:27Speaker 1: any pair of matching lingerie. I was very much a.
- 38:34Speaker 1: I love a matching set giry from the get go, however,
- 38:40Speaker 1: which is fine for occasions, but now I can't be bothered.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Whereas what makes me feel really sexy and like who
- 38:46Speaker 1: is a really good signature scent and like that can
- 38:50Speaker 1: also evolve over time, that can change. It doesn't matter,
- 38:53Speaker 1: Like you don't have to like lock in on one.
- 38:56Speaker 2: But I love the idea of.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Having a said and someone goes, oh, that smells like ales.
- 39:03Speaker 1: I love that. I love the idea of even you know,
- 39:07Speaker 1: in the future, if I have kids or grandchildren being like,
- 39:12Speaker 1: oh that smells that or nah, you know, like I
- 39:15Speaker 1: just think that's such a nice element to your life.
- 39:19Speaker 1: That is really beautiful, right, And I have that with
- 39:23Speaker 1: perfumes with my mom, Like she always had this one
- 39:26Speaker 1: perfume that would always get her for a birthday every year,
- 39:29Speaker 1: and she would wear it all the time. And so
- 39:31Speaker 1: whenever I smell that there's two actually she now number
- 39:34Speaker 1: five and poem, And whenever I smell those two perfumes,
- 39:38Speaker 1: I think of my mom, and I think that's such
- 39:40Speaker 1: a nice thing to have about yourself. It's not to
- 39:42Speaker 1: say that you can't wear any other perfume. She wore
- 39:45Speaker 1: lots of different other perfumes, but to just have that
- 39:47Speaker 1: one thing that you're like, hmm like to have a
- 39:50Speaker 1: smell link to a memory I think is really special.
- 39:53Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely, all right, I'm going to do some rapid fires.
- 39:57Speaker 1: A night on your own is a privilege. Get a pet, yes,
- 40:03Speaker 1: try to help others as much as you can, and
- 40:06Speaker 1: embrace the schlumper dinker.
- 40:09Speaker 2: So love this.
- 40:11Speaker 3: Do you know what that is?
- 40:12Speaker 2: I think I do, but I teach you what it was?
- 40:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so.
- 40:16Speaker 2: So.
- 40:17Speaker 1: My mum, speaking of, always used to watch Oprah, and
- 40:22Speaker 1: there was this term on Oprah called the schlumper dinker,
- 40:26Speaker 1: which the first guess was the cousin of an opal lumba,
- 40:28Speaker 1: which it's not that. It's basically when you are just
- 40:33Speaker 1: ugly and comfy and you're not worried about what you
- 40:38Speaker 1: look like, whether your hair's done, whether you've got your
- 40:40Speaker 1: skin care on, you're just a schlumper dinker and having
- 40:45Speaker 1: a schlumper dinker day. And I think as well, even now,
- 40:49Speaker 1: we just live in a world so focused with esthetics
- 40:52Speaker 1: that we've even put pressure on how we're supposed to
- 40:55Speaker 1: look when we relax. That that's even like putting on
- 40:59Speaker 1: a watching track, your set, putting in a hammer, skincare on,
- 41:03Speaker 1: like eyebrows laminated, and I'm like, no, we need to
- 41:07Speaker 1: be ugly. We do being Uglyzabeth, and like not being
- 41:11Speaker 1: like ooh.
- 41:15Speaker 2: Yeah, not feeling bad about being ugly seriously, so.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Embrace the Schlumperdinka. And then my last three, I've got
- 41:25Speaker 1: rituals of free joy and finding, like what your favorite
- 41:30Speaker 1: rituals are, So opening a window first thing, fresh air
- 41:34Speaker 1: fixes way more than you think, eat at the table,
- 41:38Speaker 1: make your bed, enjoy your morning coffee, say good night
- 41:42Speaker 1: to the moon, watch the same movie on the same
- 41:45Speaker 1: night every year, every year on the twenty third of December.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Sound I watch The greench and it's like one of
- 41:49Speaker 1: my favorite rituals ever.
- 41:51Speaker 2: And talk to yourself.
- 41:52Speaker 1: And all of those things are literally free or cost
- 41:56Speaker 1: like three bucks if you want to get down to
- 41:59Speaker 1: the nitty gritty of like the beans for your coffee.
- 42:02Speaker 1: But it's like all of those things are zero dollars
- 42:05Speaker 1: but bring you so much more joy than like buying
- 42:08Speaker 1: something online or spending money out at a bar, Like
- 42:12Speaker 1: all of those are such beautiful things that you get
- 42:14Speaker 1: to do with yourself to build that relationship with yourself.
- 42:18Speaker 1: Second last one is that just because you lost me
- 42:21Speaker 1: as a friend doesn't mean you gained me as an enemy.
- 42:23Speaker 1: I still want you to bloom, just not in the
- 42:25Speaker 1: garden I built.
- 42:27Speaker 2: Ah, that's nice.
- 42:28Speaker 1: I saw that quote on Tikiitoki, and I was like,
- 42:31Speaker 1: that is the perfect explanation for what so many of
- 42:35Speaker 1: us go through, because ninety one percent of people no
- 42:38Speaker 1: longer call their best friend a friend anymore. Because in
- 42:42Speaker 1: your twenties, I think you especially go through a lot
- 42:46Speaker 1: of seasonal friendships and you know, you kind of move
- 42:51Speaker 1: on from high school, you go to UNI, you get
- 42:53Speaker 1: your first job. There are so many, you know, iterations
- 42:57Speaker 1: of friendship groups that I had in my toes and
- 43:00Speaker 1: friends that nothing bad happened. We're just not necessarily as
- 43:04Speaker 1: close as we were. But it doesn't necessarily mean that
- 43:08Speaker 1: I have any ill will or there was some mushroom
- 43:10Speaker 1: cloud or anything like that. I think in your twenties,
- 43:14Speaker 1: it's probably good to kind of expand that umbrella as
- 43:17Speaker 1: much as you can, because it actually helps you really
- 43:20Speaker 1: lock in and find the people who are meant for you.
- 43:22Speaker 1: I'm still best friends with my best friend from high school.
- 43:25Speaker 1: You know, we've been friends for ten years, and all
- 43:29Speaker 1: of that wouldn't have happened from trying to meet and
- 43:32Speaker 1: build connections with as many people as possible. But it's
- 43:35Speaker 1: also not sustainable to expect you're gonna be best friends
- 43:37Speaker 1: with every single person you meet, or you'll stay best friends.
- 43:40Speaker 1: People move, people get new jobs, people change, and that's okay.
- 43:45Speaker 1: It doesn't necessarily mean that you wish them any ill will. Yeah,
- 43:49Speaker 1: And I think that's a nice way to look at it,
- 43:52Speaker 1: and a nice reminder to be okay with things moving on,
- 43:57Speaker 1: even if you know there actually was a fire and
- 43:59Speaker 1: you decide after that, I don't think this is right
- 44:02Speaker 1: for me. You don't actually have to hold onto that
- 44:04Speaker 1: anger either. You can go, do you know what. I
- 44:06Speaker 1: don't want you to be in my garden, but I'm
- 44:08Speaker 1: okay with you blimming in your own life.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:12Speaker 1: And then my last and final life lesson by the
- 44:15Speaker 1: time I turned thirty is that you just have to
- 44:18Speaker 1: trust that the future is going to be a little
- 44:20Speaker 1: bit sexy.
- 44:23Speaker 2: I like that, especially going into your thirties. What are
- 44:26Speaker 2: you looking forward to the most about your thirties if
- 44:28Speaker 2: you have to finel one thing, I.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Think I am looking forward to just being a little
- 44:34Speaker 1: bit more self assured. I think I know who I
- 44:37Speaker 1: am a lot more than when I was like twenty.
- 44:39Speaker 1: That girl had no idea what was going on.
- 44:41Speaker 2: Bless her.
- 44:42Speaker 1: She was just brain and brain. Yeah, you know, and
- 44:45Speaker 1: whereas I think I just really understand and know myself
- 44:50Speaker 1: a lot better. And I really think every heartbreak in
- 44:55Speaker 1: my twenties has brought me so much closer to what
- 44:59Speaker 1: was meant to me. Stop crying, that's.
- 45:02Speaker 2: Beautiful, it's fine. We both have our period. Yeah exactly.
- 45:05Speaker 2: I was like, I'm impressed we made it through without it.
- 45:08Speaker 2: I was like, I'm not going to be earnest in this.
- 45:10Speaker 2: I was like, we can't do it.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Yeah, we can't know. That was beautiful. Happy birthday, Princess,
- 45:16Speaker 1: and also number thirty one shun an awful life. Yep,
- 45:21Speaker 1: all right, chicks, thank you so much for having us
- 45:23Speaker 1: in your ear holes. We love to be here. Kisses, smooches.
- 45:27Speaker 1: We'll see you next time. I love you. Bye, chicks,
