- 0:03Speaker 2: Let's go, baby, let's go.
- 0:04Speaker 3: From a championship backfield to your morning drive.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Hands to Hester, and Hester, yep, got it, five out
- 0:11Speaker 1: of five. You're locked in to Off the Bench.
- 0:13Speaker 4: Flynn is back to.
- 0:14Speaker 5: Throw for the end zone ball.
- 0:18Speaker 6: Live from the Raising Cane Studio, here's Jacob Hester and
- 0:22Speaker 6: Matt Flynn.
- 0:23Speaker 7: Off the bench.
- 0:35Speaker 4: I've been watching while you've been coughing.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I've been drinking like while you've been nauseous.
- 0:51Speaker 5: Yo!
- 0:51Speaker 6: Yo!
- 0:52Speaker 7: Yo! Welcome in, OTB, here live from the Raising Cane
- 0:56Speaker 7: studio on this Tuesday morning.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Check the watch. Jake, Flynn, Alondra, Tay-Tay all here with you.
- 1:04Speaker 7: I should have known it was Tuesday because of these
- 1:06Speaker 7: cool panels behind me.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Community Steel, communitysteelco.com.
- 1:11Speaker 7: Community Steel right there in Gonzales, Louisiana, bringing you the
- 1:14Speaker 7: show every single Tuesday.
- 1:19Speaker 2: How we doing? How we living? I'm doing great. It's Tuesday. Oh,
- 1:23Speaker 2: that is your day.
- 1:24Speaker 3: So, yeah, I think I'm doing pretty good.
- 1:27Speaker 2: It's film day? Yeah. These lights aren't as gold as
- 1:30Speaker 2: they usually are. Yeah, they're a little orange.
- 1:33Speaker 1: They are a little orange. Yeah, there is something up
- 1:35Speaker 1: with the one above Jake. When I turn it to yellow,
- 1:37Speaker 1: that one doesn't come on.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:39Speaker 2: They're more like a peach color. We're going to have to.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Deal with this.
- 1:41Speaker 7: Yeah, well, the studio was burning yesterday afternoon, so maybe
- 1:44Speaker 7: that affected the lights.
- 1:45Speaker 2: It burned some of the lights out. That makes sense.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Maybe it did. Mm-hmm. All the way from another state.
- 1:52Speaker 2: It was burning.
- 1:53Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Any who's.
- 1:55Speaker 3: I'm doing great, dude. How are you doing? It is
- 1:57Speaker 3: film day to day.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Plus and highly favored. Okay. Yeah.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Is that good?
- 2:01Speaker 2: It's good.
- 2:02Speaker 7: Okay.
- 2:02Speaker 3: It's good.
- 2:03Speaker 2: We had a full night of football.
- 2:05Speaker 7: We had middle school football followed by JV football last
- 2:08Speaker 7: night at Cub Complex all night long.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Yeah, Monday Night Football. So that's exactly right.
- 2:13Speaker 7: I got a chance to come home and watch the
- 2:15Speaker 7: Commanders almost pull off a comeback against the best team
- 2:18Speaker 7: in the NFL.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Yeah, they had a lot of good tries. A lot
- 2:21Speaker 2: of good tries. That's what the offensive line did. They tried.
- 2:23Speaker 2: They were trying so hard. They didn't get it done,
- 2:26Speaker 2: but they tried.
- 2:27Speaker 8: And the referees, they were trying not to make a
- 2:29Speaker 8: call penalty on every play. I don't think they got
- 2:33Speaker 8: it done, but it was some good trying.
- 2:35Speaker 2: The NFL's got a penalty. And it wasn't just one way.
- 2:38Speaker 3: It wasn't one way. I'm not saying it was like.
- 2:40Speaker 2: No, no.
- 2:40Speaker 3: It was like just.
- 2:42Speaker 2: There you go. That looked like.
- 2:43Speaker 3: It was bad.
- 2:44Speaker 2: It's becoming harder and harder.
- 2:47Speaker 8: Yeah, and it was very disruptive to the game last night.
- 2:51Speaker 8: I don't know if everybody noticed it, but I sure did. No,
- 2:53Speaker 8: I definitely did. And Troy usually calls it out. I
- 2:56Speaker 8: don't feel like he did as much yesterday.
- 2:58Speaker 2: The penalties are way up. I actually have some numbers
- 3:01Speaker 2: we can get into a little bit later. Perfect. I
- 3:03Speaker 2: don't know. Maybe because I know him and Joe Buck
- 3:06Speaker 2: are beefing right now.
- 3:07Speaker 7: I feel like me and you, but our contracts, we're
- 3:10Speaker 7: beefing right now.
- 3:12Speaker 3: You got a free pack of gum?
- 3:14Speaker 5: What?
- 3:15Speaker 7: You did ask me for two mints earlier.
- 3:17Speaker 2: So struggle bus. You had a bag from Costco. Hey,
- 3:23Speaker 2: can I get two mints?
- 3:25Speaker 3: Yeah. We're sitting in these seats for four hours. Yeah,
- 3:29Speaker 3: we are.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Because today's film day. Eye in the sky. We did
- 3:32Speaker 2: it earlier.
- 3:33Speaker 7: You should like and subscribe and share and do that
- 3:36Speaker 7: whole deal with eye in the sky. If you really
- 3:37Speaker 7: want to know that, if you want to be the
- 3:39Speaker 7: cool cat at the water cooler.
- 3:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 7: If you want to sit there and be like, oh, yeah,
- 3:43Speaker 7: they're running scat protection, that means the back is free release,
- 3:45Speaker 7: and it means it's five-man protection.
- 3:47Speaker 2: I don't know if you know that, and you should
- 3:49Speaker 2: watch Eye in the Sky.
- 3:50Speaker 9: I don't know if you know what a big duel is,
- 3:51Speaker 9: but I do.
- 3:52Speaker 2: That's a big duel by the left tackle, obviously.
- 3:55Speaker 7: Dummy.
- 3:58Speaker 2: He let him go because he was in a big duel.
- 4:02Speaker 10: That guy was supposed to get to Sam.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't ever let a free rusher in the
- 4:06Speaker 2: B-gap with scat protection.
- 4:08Speaker 7: You would know that if you watched Eye in the Sky.
- 4:10Speaker 7: So watch it. It'll be out a little bit later
- 4:13Speaker 7: on today. Alondra, Tay-Tay, how we doing? Everybody good? Good.
- 4:17Speaker 6: I feel like I had a very Matt Unk moment
- 4:19Speaker 6: last night.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Ooh, yeah.
- 4:21Speaker 10: So I'm putting... There's a.
- 4:22Speaker 6: Lot of them. I know, but this one was like pretty...
- 4:24Speaker 6: I was disappointed in myself. I put on the game
- 4:28Speaker 6: last night, but... you know how like on YouTube TV,
- 4:32Speaker 6: they'll just show like the logos of the team.
- 4:35Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 4:35Speaker 6: And that's how, you know, like, so I just clicked
- 4:37Speaker 6: the first one that I saw and I'm watching the
- 4:40Speaker 6: entire first half of this game. Like, man, I hate
- 4:43Speaker 6: this broadcast team. Why do they have four people on
- 4:47Speaker 6: the broadcast? Like it's field Yates, Dominic Foxworth.
- 4:50Speaker 10: Like, I don't, know who else Dominic.
- 4:52Speaker 7: Like you're expecting Monday night yeah with Joe Buck and Troy.
- 4:57Speaker 6: No disrespect to field Yates but like it just was not.
- 5:00Speaker 2: What I wanted Joe and Troy are yeah maybe my favorite.
- 5:03Speaker 6: I'm like what is going on right now I'm watching
- 5:05Speaker 6: this for the entire first half and I text the
- 5:07Speaker 6: group chat and I'm like I hate this broadcast.
- 5:10Speaker 7: So I wasn't watching yet because I was at the
- 5:12Speaker 7: JV game yeah and so I'm like These.
- 5:15Speaker 8: Contract negotiations must be serious.
- 5:18Speaker 3: I was doing a.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Little bit of baby duty and Alondra goes, am I
- 5:22Speaker 1: watching the wrong broadcast? I was like, I'm not watching it.
- 5:24Speaker 1: It's just normally Joe and Troy.
- 5:26Speaker 2: I was like, I don't like this.
- 5:29Speaker 10: He's like, Joe and Troy. And I'm like, no, there's
- 5:32Speaker 10: some other people. There's like four people on the broadcast.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Troy's holding out.
- 5:36Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 5:37Speaker 10: It's like next gen, next gen stats. I don't know.
- 5:41Speaker 10: I don't remember. But then Taylor said that like, And
- 5:44Speaker 10: then I'm like, am I on the wrong?
- 5:45Speaker 6: Because I know Pat McAfee does like an alternate broadcast
- 5:48Speaker 6: for like college football.
- 5:50Speaker 2: He did one last night. Yeah, he did. For this game.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I'm like.
- 5:53Speaker 10: So how many broadcasts were there?
- 5:54Speaker 2: Four because they had the Manning cast too.
- 5:56Speaker 1: So four at least.
- 5:57Speaker 10: That's crazy.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I get messed up in college games because of the logo.
- 6:02Speaker 1: It'll be the Skycast.
- 6:03Speaker 10: Yeah, that happened to me too.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Yeah, and the only thing here is PA. You got
- 6:05Speaker 1: to click like either Kiffin or Leavitt or something. If
- 6:08Speaker 1: you just click the logo, it's the wrong one.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I've done it.
- 6:11Speaker 9: Yeah, so I watched the entire first half of that game.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Rage baiting.
- 6:15Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 6:16Speaker 6: But I just felt like that was super unk of
- 6:19Speaker 6: me to just click on the first thing I saw
- 6:21Speaker 6: and be like, what is this?
- 6:22Speaker 2: And then just accept it and not, like, try to
- 6:24Speaker 2: find the original broadcast. Like, you would do that.
- 6:26Speaker 10: Yeah, I accepted it. I was like, this sucks, whatever.
- 6:29Speaker 1: In her defense, though, like, most of the time it's
- 6:31Speaker 1: just the normal and then, like, very bottom and, like,
- 6:34Speaker 1: white letters. It's like Skycast or Alternate.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Like, you.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I've done it like a hundred times.
- 6:38Speaker 2: I just clicked on the picture. I've done it a
- 6:40Speaker 2: lot too.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Me click picture. When I push the back button and
- 6:43Speaker 3: it's like, I'm on ESPN News.
- 6:45Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 6:45Speaker 1: You gotta wonder why they have that. Who's actually watching
- 6:49Speaker 1: that over Joe Buck?
- 6:51Speaker 8: Some of the GameCast stuff or that SkyCam stuff. The
- 6:54Speaker 8: Sky Cam one I do like to tune into a
- 6:56Speaker 8: lot because I like the Sky Cam. It's kind of
- 6:59Speaker 8: like watching the All-22 from behind.
- 7:00Speaker 1: It's weird in commercials because I've got no ways to
- 7:02Speaker 1: go to commercial break, and I'm like, why am I
- 7:04Speaker 1: looking at the top of the stadium here in the PA?
- 7:07Speaker 6: Sometimes I enjoy the Pat McAfee one, like the college
- 7:09Speaker 6: football one. I do like to watch it sometimes, but
- 7:12Speaker 6: I guess I just wasn't expecting that, and I thought
- 7:14Speaker 6: it was going to be Joe and Troy, and it was.
- 7:16Speaker 10: I just was on the wrong channel.
- 7:17Speaker 2: You just got Phil and Dominic.
- 7:19Speaker 3: You said Dominic?
- 7:21Speaker 2: Dominic.
- 7:22Speaker 10: Is it Dominic or Dominique?
- 7:23Speaker 2: Dominique Foxworth.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Dominique Foxworth.
- 7:26Speaker 6: And then Brian Hoyer.
- 7:28Speaker 2: I don't know. Yeah. He was on there.
- 7:32Speaker 10: And Brian Burke.
- 7:35Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm not familiar with him.
- 7:36Speaker 10: I think I got that one wrong, but Hoyer was
- 7:38Speaker 10: on it.
- 7:38Speaker 3: You know, I mean, you got most of them pretty good.
- 7:42Speaker 8: I accidentally clicked the Spanish version of a game on Sunday.
- 7:48Speaker 8: And obviously, the obvious reaction would be just change it
- 7:50Speaker 8: immediately to the language I understand. But I was intrigued,
- 7:55Speaker 8: so I watched an entire drive.
- 7:57Speaker 2: The entire drive? Just so if I could pick out
- 8:00Speaker 2: any words on there.
- 8:00Speaker 10: Could you?
- 8:01Speaker 3: I didn't get many.
- 8:02Speaker 5: Dang.
- 8:02Speaker 3: I didn't get many.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Four of Meltzer's is aggressive.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a lot.
- 8:07Speaker 1: So they do, it's Dave Pasch, Kurt Warner, and Jason Kelsey.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Do games.
- 8:12Speaker 3: I don't like it.
- 8:13Speaker 1: They actually, they're all three NFL network.
- 8:17Speaker 7: I actually thought it worked better than I thought it would.
- 8:20Speaker 7: I watched two weeks ago.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I just, I get confused. I'm like, okay, there's Kurt.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I guess I know their voices so well.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:26Speaker 2: I guess.
- 8:27Speaker 7: But even three stuff, three, three, the way offenses go now,
- 8:31Speaker 7: like we're doing a call and I'm like trying to
- 8:34Speaker 7: jump in real quick and get out and then jump
- 8:36Speaker 7: and then get back.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Because Chris has got to set the formation.
- 8:39Speaker 7: Now we're radio, not TV, so he's got more heavy
- 8:42Speaker 7: lifting to do than TV.
- 8:44Speaker 1: This weekend was a little rough because you got a
- 8:46Speaker 1: former quarterback and a former center. They were both jumping
- 8:50Speaker 1: in during offensive plays. It was a little janky.
- 8:53Speaker 9: Wait, so Joe Buck and Troy Aikman got in an
- 8:55Speaker 9: argument or something?
- 8:56Speaker 2: Get some beef.
- 8:57Speaker 8: Apparently Joe Buck, not a foxhole guy.
- 9:00Speaker 2: He got a new contract. And Troy didn't.
- 9:04Speaker 10: But didn't Troy retire?
- 9:05Speaker 6: No.
- 9:06Speaker 2: So, okay.
- 9:07Speaker 4: Did I get unked?
- 9:07Speaker 2: So, when they came over from Fox.
- 9:09Speaker 9: I thought this was his last season to me.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Until you old. Oh, yeah, you got unked.
- 9:13Speaker 10: This is crazy.
- 9:14Speaker 2: So, when.
- 9:15Speaker 10: I need to stop hanging out with y'all.
- 9:16Speaker 8: When Troy and Joe Buck, when they came over from Fox,
- 9:20Speaker 8: because they were always the Fox game of the week.
- 9:22Speaker 3: And they've been the best to me.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Yeah, forever. They've been the best for years and years
- 9:25Speaker 2: and years. Except last night. Except last night, obviously. Well,
- 9:28Speaker 2: they went over to ESPN for Monday Night Football. Yeah.
- 9:31Speaker 8: So, this is the story I heard. I don't know
- 9:33Speaker 8: if it's true or not, but Troy. was the first
- 9:36Speaker 8: person they were talking to. Troy would not go without
- 9:40Speaker 8: Joe Buck.
- 9:40Speaker 10: Okay.
- 9:42Speaker 8: But, so it came out two weeks ago, I think,
- 9:44Speaker 8: that Joe Buck had signed, like, a new, like, five-year,
- 9:47Speaker 8: $ 100 million contract, and Troy hadn't signed anything. And so
- 9:52Speaker 8: Troy was a little.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Not a foxhole guy.
- 9:54Speaker 1: No, that's legit. Troy does not have a... I don't
- 9:56Speaker 1: think he's retiring, but, there's a chance another network picks
- 9:59Speaker 1: him up.
- 9:59Speaker 2: He does not have a deal. I thought he said
- 10:01Speaker 2: he was stuck in a way. So they were beefing.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Maybe he is.
- 10:03Speaker 8: I think it was two Mondays ago they were beefing
- 10:05Speaker 8: because it came out like on Monday, Monday afternoon or whatever,
- 10:08Speaker 8: that Joe Buck had a new contract going forward. And
- 10:11Speaker 8: Troy was still in negotiations or was not. And Troy
- 10:14Speaker 8: was on an interview recently and said something that He's like, yeah,
- 10:18Speaker 8: everything's up in the air. We'll see where I'll land
- 10:20Speaker 8: next year, basically.
- 10:21Speaker 6: Okay, so maybe I read it wrong, and he was
- 10:24Speaker 6: thinking about leaving ESPN.
- 10:25Speaker 10: But this was after.
- 10:26Speaker 8: The news had already come out, after the news had
- 10:28Speaker 8: come out that they were beefing.
- 10:30Speaker 6: Okay, so then they argued before the game last night.
- 10:34Speaker 3: I think it was two Mondays ago.
- 10:36Speaker 10: Okay.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Yeah, not this last week, but the week before.
- 10:38Speaker 9: So has it sucked, or I haven't really noticed.
- 10:40Speaker 3: No, it's been fine. I don't think anybody noticed.
- 10:42Speaker 8: This news started coming out recently that obviously Troy had
- 10:46Speaker 8: an issue. because he didn't know Joe Buck was signing
- 10:49Speaker 8: a new contract.
- 10:49Speaker 10: That is messed up.
- 10:50Speaker 1: They were fine in the fourth quarter. That's the only
- 10:52Speaker 1: part of the broadcast I watched last night, and they
- 10:54Speaker 1: were fine in the fourth quarter.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Yeah, they were good.
- 10:56Speaker 2: They're professionals.
- 10:57Speaker 7: They can figure it out, but just like when Flynn
- 11:02Speaker 7: signed that new deal without letting me know and got
- 11:05Speaker 7: double the pay.
- 11:06Speaker 8: Clearly, you found a mint deal and had a big
- 11:10Speaker 8: issue of giving me two this morning.
- 11:12Speaker 2: That's just funny. Can I get two of those?
- 11:14Speaker 6: Like, I feel like I heard people discussing this because
- 11:16Speaker 6: he was like, I'm going to whatever. And then they're like, well, yeah,
- 11:19Speaker 6: he made a bunch of money. He's been doing it
- 11:20Speaker 6: for 20 years. Like, he doesn't have to keep doing it.
- 11:22Speaker 10: I don't know where I heard all this from.
- 11:25Speaker 1: So what are they going to do? They're going to
- 11:26Speaker 1: fight it out because I got Troy.
- 11:28Speaker 2: I got Troy on that one. EZE82, Aikman isn't great anyway.
- 11:31Speaker 2: I'll disagree there.
- 11:32Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Troy's really good.
- 11:35Speaker 7: He's the only one that, like, if he sees something,
- 11:38Speaker 7: he's going to be like, hey, guys, like this, no.
- 11:40Speaker 7: Y'all might have called that. That's not what this is. And, like,
- 11:43Speaker 7: any mistakes, so many people will just fly by it.
- 11:47Speaker 2: It's clear. It's obvious. It's right in front of them.
- 11:49Speaker 2: We're all at home watching being like, hey, you got
- 11:51Speaker 2: to say something. Right.
- 11:52Speaker 7: Nobody will. Like, he is one of the very few
- 11:55Speaker 7: that will actually call it out as he sees it.
- 11:58Speaker 7: I really can't think of anybody else.
- 11:59Speaker 3: That does it consistently.
- 12:00Speaker 8: I like when there is a bad call on the
- 12:02Speaker 8: field or there's a challenge and the referee, whoever it is,
- 12:06Speaker 8: the guy that's the– that's paid the broadcast referee that
- 12:09Speaker 8: comes in there and contributes. He's like, yeah, by letter
- 12:12Speaker 8: of the law, this is actually that. And Troy's like, yeah,
- 12:14Speaker 8: I don't think so. That's really, that's a really dumb call.
- 12:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:18Speaker 2: That's that.
- 12:19Speaker 8: I do love what you're saying, but that doesn't make
- 12:22Speaker 8: any sense.
- 12:22Speaker 2: And I like that. It's refreshing.
- 12:24Speaker 7: It's like, Oh, you're human. You're not a robot up there.
- 12:27Speaker 7: Cause so many will just like fly by it. And again,
- 12:30Speaker 7: like it's clear and obvious and they won't bring it
- 12:32Speaker 7: up or they'll just accept what the rules analyst guy
- 12:35Speaker 7: saying when he comes on the broadcast.
- 12:36Speaker 2: And, That is my favorite part.
- 12:38Speaker 7: Troy's like, yeah, I hear you, but basically that's BS.
- 12:41Speaker 8: And, like, it's a tough job because it's basically we
- 12:44Speaker 8: got three hours with these people on a hot mic
- 12:47Speaker 8: every single week. Not everything they say is going to
- 12:50Speaker 8: be perfect. Not everything that they see in real action
- 12:52Speaker 8: is going to be absolutely correct. So, yeah, you can
- 12:55Speaker 8: nitpick on some things for everybody. But he is, I mean,
- 13:01Speaker 8: he's been the best to me for quite a while.
- 13:04Speaker 8: Greg Olson, I think second best.
- 13:06Speaker 10: Greg Olson does a good job.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Greg's really good. Greg is really good. Tom's getting better.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Tom is getting better.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Tom's getting better. How do we like Drew?
- 13:16Speaker 1: I'm going to be honest.
- 13:17Speaker 2: I haven't listened to enough of Drew.
- 13:18Speaker 9: I haven't really listened to him enough to.
- 13:20Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 13:21Speaker 6: I thought he did well the last game that I
- 13:24Speaker 6: heard him on. I think it was Sunday that he did. Yeah,
- 13:26Speaker 6: he did Saints. I thought he did well. I never
- 13:29Speaker 6: really disliked Tom Brady on the call either.
- 13:31Speaker 9: Mm-hmm.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Like, I think you could just tell, like, the pacing.
- 13:34Speaker 7: And just like with Drew, like, the reps, that's what
- 13:36Speaker 7: I'm saying.
- 13:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:37Speaker 7: Anything that you do that's new like that, like, you
- 13:40Speaker 7: could be really knowledgeable, really good. You just got to
- 13:42Speaker 7: figure out the pacing of it and, like, how to
- 13:44Speaker 7: go about it. I think Drew's in that process right
- 13:46Speaker 7: now because it does feel like it's, you know, gaining
- 13:48Speaker 7: ground and getting better and better. And Brady's first year
- 13:51Speaker 7: wasn't near as good as he's been the last couple.
- 13:54Speaker 1: No, and he's more relaxed. Like, Tom's entertaining.
- 13:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Like, Tom's funny.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Like, we always talk about this.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Right. I mean, he wasn't saying that his first year.
- 14:01Speaker 5: No.
- 14:02Speaker 1: I think there was a lot of people that were
- 14:04Speaker 1: just like, yes, we found something Tom Brady's not good at.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Is he $ 300 million good?
- 14:09Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 14:10Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know what he makes compared to
- 14:12Speaker 1: the other guys. Also, their name's not Tom Brady, like
- 14:16Speaker 1: it or not.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Wasn't it $ 300 million he signed? Something crazy.
- 14:20Speaker 1: They did bump Olsen to the number two spot, like, immediately.
- 14:23Speaker 2: And they're like, here, Tom.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Love Greg Olsen.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Sorry, like, you're not Tom Brady. And this is, a
- 14:30Speaker 2: lot of people disagree with me. I did not like Romo. No, no.
- 14:34Speaker 2: I don't know. A lot of people loved him the
- 14:37Speaker 2: first year, too. Yeah, they did.
- 14:38Speaker 7: The guessing the play, I'm like, guys, like, all he's
- 14:41Speaker 7: doing is hearing the code word.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Right.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Like, he did it once and got a lot of traction.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Give me the code word, and I'm going to be
- 14:46Speaker 2: able to tell you what it is.
- 14:47Speaker 8: All he's doing is, like, he's completely audible in the play,
- 14:50Speaker 8: and they got, like, 15 guys in the box.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Yeah, he's throwing it. I think he's throwing here.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I got it.
- 14:59Speaker 6: Oh.
- 15:00Speaker 8: And he said, oh, he said flip, flip, flip, or flipper, flipper, flipper,
- 15:04Speaker 8: or something like that. And there's like eight people on
- 15:07Speaker 8: the right side. I think he's going to run it left.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Or like they get up to the line and, you know, rocket. Hey,
- 15:13Speaker 2: check rocket. I'm like, hey, they're going to run to
- 15:15Speaker 2: the right. Yeah.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Or whatever your heart goes.
- 15:17Speaker 2: No. Everybody's just mesmerized. Like seriously, he did it. West Coast.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I feel like he did it one time, got a
- 15:23Speaker 1: ton of traction, and he's like, I have to do
- 15:25Speaker 1: this every single play now.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. And then he started getting them wrong. Yeah,
- 15:29Speaker 2: you really don't, Tony. I don't know.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Tony needed to worry about what the defense was doing
- 15:35Speaker 1: when he was playing. I get that he knows the offense, but, like,
- 15:39Speaker 1: that was probably his shortcoming as a quarterback.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Poor Taylor.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:47Speaker 10: Hot take, but I kind of liked Tony Romo on
- 15:50Speaker 10: the call. It was just kind of goofy.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it was goofy. It became like a parody, though,
- 15:55Speaker 2: at the end. Yeah. And I did enjoy, like, he
- 15:58Speaker 2: did watch it like a fan.
- 15:59Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 16:00Speaker 3: So I kind of enjoyed that part of it.
- 16:01Speaker 10: I think that's why I liked it.
- 16:02Speaker 3: I didn't enjoy the guessing part.
- 16:04Speaker 10: Yeah. I didn't take it seriously.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Tony knew that they were throwing a play at you.
- 16:10Speaker 2: He knew they were doing it.
- 16:11Speaker 7: All right, before we take a break, give me the
- 16:13Speaker 7: one broadcaster that you like that everybody hates.
- 16:19Speaker 10: Me either.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Everybody hates. Come on.
- 16:23Speaker 3: You got one, obviously.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Chris Collinsworth.
- 16:26Speaker 10: You like him?
- 16:27Speaker 2: I don't mind him. I don't mind him as much
- 16:29Speaker 2: as everybody else. I used to like him better than.
- 16:31Speaker 6: I do now.
- 16:32Speaker 5: I don't mind him.
- 16:32Speaker 2: I agree with that take.
- 16:33Speaker 3: I used to like him.
- 16:34Speaker 2: I used to like that team a lot. I know
- 16:35Speaker 2: he glazes the Chiefs, but I'm like, eh. He used
- 16:39Speaker 2: to be my favorite. I don't mind him at all.
- 16:44Speaker 1: I got an alternate. I got one that I do
- 16:47Speaker 1: not like that everybody loves. Who? I don't like Gus
- 16:50Speaker 1: Johnson at all.
- 16:52Speaker 2: No, thank you. He does a big 10 in golf. Maserati. Maserati, Marv.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Like, get out of here, Gus. Matt, every play Gus
- 17:00Speaker 1: has seen, he's seen it for the first time.
- 17:02Speaker 2: It's just like amazing. It's incredible.
- 17:05Speaker 6: My dad really dislikes Joe Buck. But I don't get why.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 17:10Speaker 10: I don't like him on the MLB stuff.
- 17:12Speaker 6: I don't know if he still does it, but I
- 17:14Speaker 6: didn't like him really doing MLB, but I like him
- 17:16Speaker 6: on the NFL stuff.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Who's the guy that does a lot of the SEC games?
- 17:18Speaker 3: He's got the big, deep voice.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Oh, that narrows it down. Hey, who's the guy that
- 17:24Speaker 2: does SEC that's got a broadcaster's voice?
- 17:26Speaker 1: He's got a big broadcaster voice.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Fowler?
- 17:27Speaker 6: No.
- 17:28Speaker 3: He just does that.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Talking football? Tom Hart?
- 17:31Speaker 3: Football. No, not Tom Hart. I'll figure it out.
- 17:34Speaker 10: I'm sure you will.
- 17:35Speaker 2: We'll see how many squirrels you see before you figure
- 17:37Speaker 2: it out. And we'll be back.

- 19:40Speaker 7: our friends over at Community Steel, communitysteelco.com.
- 19:47Speaker 10: How do we feel about Kirk Herbstreet?
- 19:50Speaker 1: I personally love Kirk, but I know there's a lot
- 19:52Speaker 1: of people who don't.
- 19:53Speaker 2: There's people that don't like Kirk Herbstreit.
- 19:55Speaker 1: I've heard of a lot of people that don't. I
- 19:57Speaker 1: love Kirk Herbstreit.
- 19:57Speaker 2: I think he's fantastic.
- 19:58Speaker 7: He's always been very, very, very good to me, so
- 20:01Speaker 7: I'm not going to say one bad word about him.
- 20:04Speaker 10: And I love Rhys Davis, too.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Oh, Rhys is salt of the earth. I love Rhys Davis.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Especially for a drug. But he's so good. That team
- 20:11Speaker 2: is by far the best in college, and it's not
- 20:14Speaker 2: even close.
- 20:15Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 20:16Speaker 3: There's no one that even comes close to that team.
- 20:19Speaker 6: Mm-hmm. But I also think the internet does this really
- 20:22Speaker 6: annoying thing where they just, like, go and, like, it
- 20:24Speaker 6: was Josh Pate. Like, Josh Pate just went through a
- 20:26Speaker 6: cycle where everybody was hating on him. Pat McAfee, like,
- 20:29Speaker 6: everybody loved him. Then the internet just turned on him.
- 20:33Speaker 6: They did it to Kay Adams, too. Now I think
- 20:35Speaker 6: they're doing it to Kirk Herbstreit.
- 20:36Speaker 2: I think there's a lot.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Are they, really?
- 20:39Speaker 8: I think there's a lot of people I've always not liked.
- 20:41Speaker 8: There's a faction of people I've always never liked Pat McAfee.
- 20:43Speaker 9: For sure.
- 20:44Speaker 6: But now it's, like, the audience that he served, I think,
- 20:47Speaker 6: is turning on him right now.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Is it too much? Oversaturation?
- 20:52Speaker 10: I think it's oversaturation.
- 20:53Speaker 8: I think there's a threat of that. They get paid some.
- 20:59Speaker 8: They got to put him on a lot, right?
- 21:01Speaker 10: But I love Kirk.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I do too.
- 21:05Speaker 3: I like Pat a lot.
- 21:06Speaker 1: I love Pat.
- 21:08Speaker 3: He's great.
- 21:10Speaker 8: I can understand if getting oversaturated a little bit.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Because he's a lot. I mean, he's a lot. But
- 21:17Speaker 3: that's why I like him. Interesting. I didn't know the
- 21:23Speaker 3: internet turned on.
- 21:24Speaker 10: They turn on people.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Pat and Kirk.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Why would you turn on Kirk?
- 21:28Speaker 2: What did he do?
- 21:30Speaker 9: I think it was the, was he on Thursday Night Football?
- 21:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:32Speaker 10: I think he said something on.
- 21:33Speaker 6: The Thursday Night Football that maybe was super obvious or something.
- 21:39Speaker 6: And people were like, yeah, duh. And then people just
- 21:41Speaker 6: started being like, he fell off as a broadcaster.
- 21:43Speaker 1: I don't feel like he has. I've seen people lately
- 21:46Speaker 1: say that about Al Michaels. Like, I love Al Michaels.
- 21:49Speaker 3: People need to grow up a little bit.
- 21:52Speaker 8: If you do want the alternative to Kirk Herbstreet on
- 21:55Speaker 8: the call, it's not going to be very good.
- 21:58Speaker 6: No.
- 22:02Speaker 3: I'll do it and say a lot of things wrong.
- 22:04Speaker 6: Do you ever need him to fill in on color
- 22:10Speaker 6: for you, Jake, on the broadcast?
- 22:12Speaker 2: Who? Matt?
- 22:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm him.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Matt could do that. He'd do great at that.
- 22:19Speaker 3: I don't think I would.
- 22:20Speaker 10: He wouldn't get anybody's names, though.
- 22:21Speaker 9: He'd call them by their number.
- 22:22Speaker 2: I'd call them by their number.
- 22:23Speaker 1: He'd be like, great catch there by 11.
- 22:25Speaker 2: I mean, honestly, you don't have to do that.
- 22:29Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Like Chris does that.
- 22:30Speaker 7: You're just breaking down the play and how it happened,
- 22:33Speaker 7: why it happened.
- 22:34Speaker 3: I wouldn't be good because I wouldn't shut up. I
- 22:36Speaker 3: wouldn't shut up in time.
- 22:37Speaker 2: That is tough. I would talk about the big duel.
- 22:40Speaker 7: There's a lot of things that I wish I could
- 22:42Speaker 7: get to, but you just can't. And back in the day,
- 22:45Speaker 7: you could. Back in the day when teams huddled. That's
- 22:49Speaker 7: when you jump in and you dive more into the, hey,
- 22:53Speaker 7: they ran power, the guard kicked this out, the running
- 22:55Speaker 7: back fit in the A-gap, blah, blah, blah, whatever.
- 22:58Speaker 2: You can't do that anymore. You got to just like, boom, boom, boom.
- 23:01Speaker 2: You got to get in and get out.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Yep.
- 23:04Speaker 8: The play-by-play person I was thinking of before we went
- 23:07Speaker 8: to break and everybody was making fun of me was
- 23:09Speaker 8: Joe Tessitore. And the reason I couldn't remember his name
- 23:13Speaker 8: is because I was getting it confused with Gene Steratore.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Pretty.
- 23:18Speaker 3: I think that's real.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Yeah, one's a referee, one's an announcer. One's an announcer,
- 23:22Speaker 2: but very similar names. They both ended in a tour.
- 23:25Speaker 8: Yeah, and it was challenging for me, and I got there.
- 23:28Speaker 8: Joe Testore. I don't favor him. I'm sure he's a
- 23:34Speaker 8: great person, but I think his voice is very fake.
- 23:38Speaker 2: That is, if you want to get.
- 23:42Speaker 7: In the bad graces of Matthew Clayton Flynn, have a
- 23:46Speaker 7: fake voice.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Yeah. When you come on and you talk like this,
- 23:50Speaker 2: Matt's not going to like you very much. Back to you, Jim.
- 23:53Speaker 9: What do they call it, like pukey or something?
- 23:55Speaker 2: Yeah, something like that. Jordan Rodgers does the same. And? Yeah. McElroy.
- 24:03Speaker 10: Oh, my God. I really do not like Greg McElroy
- 24:05Speaker 10: on a call.
- 24:08Speaker 8: And maybe that is his real voice. It just doesn't
- 24:10Speaker 8: sound like it. I guess sometimes on radio when I.
- 24:18Speaker 8: My voice doesn't sound real.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Commercial voice.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Commercial voice.
- 24:21Speaker 2: That's different. Yeah.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Commercial voice.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Found it.
- 24:27Speaker 10: Why is it so loud?
- 24:28Speaker 2: Are we taking off right now?
- 24:29Speaker 6: No.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Our video computer up here was frozen.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Like mouse and everything. So I couldn't restart it. Does
- 24:35Speaker 2: it have a fan belt?
- 24:37Speaker 6: No.
- 24:37Speaker 1: So we didn't have video commercials. I was like, I
- 24:39Speaker 1: got to find the physical computer. I kicked it off,
- 24:41Speaker 1: kicked it back on. It's rebooting.
- 24:43Speaker 2: We're good.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Pretty loud.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Sounds like there's about to be a 747 land. Literally.
- 24:49Speaker 2: If I would have known it was that loud, I
- 24:50Speaker 2: would have waited a break. I didn't know. I thought
- 24:53Speaker 2: it was just going to sound like a normal computer.
- 24:56Speaker 3: It does not.
- 24:58Speaker 2: It does not.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Like Alondra looked at me and was like, what did
- 25:02Speaker 1: you do? And I'm like, guys, I turned the computer on.
- 25:05Speaker 1: I didn't know it was going to sound like this.
- 25:07Speaker 2: It sounds like a generator. It does.
- 25:09Speaker 1: It really does.
- 25:10Speaker 10: Mike in the chat brings up a great point.
- 25:12Speaker 6: Unsure why you're forgetting one of the better CBS voices,
- 25:15Speaker 6: Brian Keith Kelly. So good he should become a P4 coach.
- 25:19Speaker 9: Who?
- 25:20Speaker 10: Brian Keith Kelly. Free my boy.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Oh, I forgot about that. Is his name really Keith?
- 25:26Speaker 8: The memes are so good about Brian Kelly every time
- 25:29Speaker 8: a team struggles. Probably Brian Kelly right now.
- 25:32Speaker 10: Yeah, getting ready to coach.
- 25:34Speaker 8: Practicing the culture of whatever is near.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Oh, that is good. Those are out there a lot.
- 25:40Speaker 8: I like the one after Texas lost, and it was
- 25:42Speaker 8: just an onslaught of Matthew McConaughey.
- 25:44Speaker 2: All right, all right.
- 25:45Speaker 1: I saw what it was like. Brian Kelly getting a
- 25:48Speaker 1: job overseas, and it was just like a guy speaking German,
- 25:51Speaker 1: and they put Brian Kelly's face over.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Good stuff. Good, clean fun.
- 25:58Speaker 7: The best one I saw is when Maryland was really struggling,
- 26:01Speaker 7: and the crab cakes and football scene, and it had
- 26:04Speaker 7: Brian Kelly's face over.
- 26:05Speaker 2: That's what Maryland does. That's what Maryland does.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Hey, I got an announcement to make.
- 26:15Speaker 10: Whoa.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Announcement.
- 26:16Speaker 3: All caps with three exclamation marks.
- 26:18Speaker 10: Okay.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Marler.
- 26:21Speaker 3: And I don't, like, seriously, I told this to Lacey yesterday.
- 26:24Speaker 3: Do not treat me differently.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Do not.
- 26:29Speaker 3: You're looking at now a two-time High Rocks athlete.
- 26:33Speaker 10: Who are you doing the next one?
- 26:35Speaker 2: That's right.
- 26:36Speaker 10: Let's go.
- 26:37Speaker 3: High Rocks hybrid rock star.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Houston again?
- 26:39Speaker 3: Houston again. Going to beat our time.
- 26:42Speaker 10: Hell yeah.
- 26:43Speaker 3: Not a big deal.
- 26:44Speaker 10: Love that.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Remember, if you gotta go to the bathroom, don't do
- 26:48Speaker 1: it mid-race.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Don't do it on the, yeah. And then continue. Why not?
- 26:51Speaker 2: Don't do that.
- 26:51Speaker 3: She's a winner. She's a competitor.
- 26:55Speaker 1: That also screws everybody else up. It's like, I wanna
- 26:58Speaker 1: do my squat thrust right here where it ran down
- 27:01Speaker 1: this girl's leg.
- 27:02Speaker 3: I wanna do the rower, but there's poop on it.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Too bad, either grab it or leave. She gets to stay.
- 27:09Speaker 2: That seems fair.
- 27:10Speaker 10: Grab it or leave it is crazy.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Grab it or leave it.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Wipe it first. No time.
- 27:17Speaker 6: Go.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Hate all of this. Why?
- 27:20Speaker 6: Here, I got something that will get us off this.
- 27:24Speaker 6: Speaking of Texas struggling, do you think they're going to
- 27:26Speaker 6: bench Arch? We talked about this yesterday. Matt?
- 27:30Speaker 3: Sounds like it.
- 27:31Speaker 8: Yeah, it sounds like if you're giving backup quarterback actual
- 27:36Speaker 8: practice reps– On a game week when you're about to
- 27:39Speaker 8: play Ole Miss, yeah, the thought is definitely there to
- 27:42Speaker 8: bench Art.
- 27:43Speaker 1: I actually saw this announcement before the show, so I'm
- 27:46Speaker 1: going to set this one out.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Because, like, I know the answer. Like, Sark said it yesterday.
- 27:50Speaker 9: Oh, he did?
- 27:50Speaker 2: Okay, well, add to the conversation.
- 27:52Speaker 1: He's sticking with Arch.
- 27:54Speaker 2: He's sticking with Arch. Yeah, at least to start the game. Oh, yeah,
- 27:57Speaker 2: for sure. Yeah, yeah. He's not going to bench him
- 27:59Speaker 2: right now. But Matt's point was you don't waste reps
- 28:03Speaker 2: against Ole Miss coming up. Well, and– It's not spring practice.
- 28:07Speaker 1: How much did we talk about this yesterday? Because everybody's like, oh,
- 28:09Speaker 1: an uptick in first team reps. Like, how long has
- 28:12Speaker 1: he actually been getting some reps? Because in order to
- 28:14Speaker 1: get an uptick, you've got to have some.
- 28:16Speaker 8: I will say, so I was back up in Green
- 28:18Speaker 8: Bay for many years, back up in LSU for a
- 28:20Speaker 8: couple of years. So on the last practice of the week,
- 28:23Speaker 8: I would get two reps with the first team. So
- 28:26Speaker 8: maybe it's something like that. One of them was a run,
- 28:28Speaker 8: and one of them was like a three-step drop or
- 28:29Speaker 8: a screen play. Like, that was basically it. Basically, so
- 28:33Speaker 8: I could go in there. They could hear my voice.
- 28:36Speaker 8: They could hear my snap count twice out of the
- 28:39Speaker 8: 300 that you do.
- 28:41Speaker 1: In case you got to go in there during the game.
- 28:42Speaker 1: It's not completely foreign.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Exactly. It's not completely foreign.
- 28:46Speaker 2: I don't know. He'd come in the game, and I'd
- 28:47Speaker 2: be like, Coach, who is this guy?
- 28:49Speaker 8: What's he doing? This guy can't throw at 90. This
- 28:54Speaker 8: guy's got a weak arm.
- 28:56Speaker 2: The other guy throws at 100 yards. So, yeah. Can
- 29:00Speaker 2: we get this guy out of here?
- 29:02Speaker 3: We need to get Jamarcus on the show.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Can we get an all-district quarterback on this field, please?
- 29:07Speaker 2: At least a second-teamer.
- 29:11Speaker 10: Honorable mention?
- 29:12Speaker 3: I got you covered on that. Three out of four.
- 29:15Speaker 2: We can get Jay Russ on the show.
- 29:17Speaker 3: He needs to come in the studio.
- 29:20Speaker 2: I'll make that happen. I'd like that.
- 29:22Speaker 7: Next time you're in town for a game, because he
- 29:25Speaker 7: does pop over a couple times a year, come on in.
- 29:28Speaker 9: I should run a route and catch a ball from him.
- 29:32Speaker 3: You better run a long way. The studio's not that big.
- 29:35Speaker 9: No, no, no.
- 29:35Speaker 10: We can go to Elite.
- 29:36Speaker 2: He's still got it.
- 29:36Speaker 6: He's got to give me a little head start.
- 29:40Speaker 2: A lot of head start.
- 29:40Speaker 8: He can real throw. Saw him throw it 90 one
- 29:43Speaker 8: time in street clothes. Just picked up a ball walking out.
- 29:46Speaker 8: We were walking to the parking lot. Set his bag down.
- 29:48Speaker 8: Picked up a ball.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Now watch his drive. Now watch his drive. I was like,
- 29:53Speaker 2: you want to see one go 55, Jamarcus?
- 29:55Speaker 1: 55.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Where's the other seven coming from? I got you.
- 30:00Speaker 3: I was young then.
- 30:01Speaker 2: That's true.
- 30:02Speaker 3: All right.
- 30:03Speaker 2: We are going to take a break.
- 30:05Speaker 7: We'll start to dive into the matchup coming up this
- 30:07Speaker 7: weekend for your LSU Tigers, for the New Orleans Saints
- 30:11Speaker 7: as they travel to Paris to take on the Steelers.
- 30:14Speaker 2: And we start to preview a little bit here on OTB.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Locked in on LSU football 24-7. You're listening to Off
- 30:32Speaker 2: the Bench. Get down on it. Get down on it.
- 30:38Speaker 10: Come on and get down on it.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Come back in here.
- 30:58Speaker 3: Off the bench.
- 31:02Speaker 8: Louisiana has always been the center of American energy. Caterus
- 31:04Speaker 8: is invested in what comes next. Caterus developing the Commonwealth
- 31:07Speaker 8: LNG export facility over in Cameron Parish. Project designed to
- 31:12Speaker 8: take American natural gas produced here at home and help
- 31:15Speaker 8: deliver it to customers and energy markets around the world.
- 31:19Speaker 8: And that means a major investment right here in Louisiana,
- 31:21Speaker 8: supporting Louisiana jobs, local businesses, infrastructure, and long-term economic activity
- 31:28Speaker 8: across the Gulf Coast. Cataract is building an integrated natural
- 31:31Speaker 8: gas business that connects American energy production with the growing
- 31:35Speaker 8: global demand for reliable energy. Another example of Louisiana doing
- 31:39Speaker 8: what Louisiana has done for generations, which is helping power
- 31:42Speaker 8: America and the world. Caterus and the Commonwealth LNG investing
- 31:47Speaker 8: in Louisiana and connecting American energy to the growing global market.
- 31:53Speaker 3: Worldwide.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Right over there, Caterus. All right, welcome back in. As
- 32:02Speaker 2: we said, start to preview the Auburn Tigers.
- 32:07Speaker 7: As LSU travels to the Plains to take them on
- 32:10Speaker 7: at 11 a.m.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Coming up on Saturday.
- 32:12Speaker 7: It's a place you and I didn't fare very well.
- 32:18Speaker 2: We didn't? We didn't fare well, no.
- 32:21Speaker 3: No, I held pretty good at that stadium.
- 32:24Speaker 7: Yeah, some random scores, some very low-scoring games, always something
- 32:29Speaker 7: a little chaotic happened whenever LSU would travel to Jordan-Hare.
- 32:34Speaker 7: I think Cole Tracy kicking that field goal, kind of
- 32:38Speaker 7: exercised all those demons and kind of threw it.
- 32:40Speaker 3: You got real excited at that one, didn't you?
- 32:42Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 32:43Speaker 7: I'd never been able to celebrate a victory there. As
- 32:46Speaker 7: a player and as somebody that covered the team, I'd
- 32:48Speaker 7: always lost. It was like five and, yeah, it was
- 32:51Speaker 7: 0-5 before that.
- 32:53Speaker 2: So, yeah, I celebrated the hell out of that one.
- 32:55Speaker 2: That was fun.
- 32:55Speaker 7: That was a good trip back. That place is a
- 33:02Speaker 7: little different. I think it's one of the most underrated
- 33:06Speaker 7: places in all of college football. It is loud no
- 33:11Speaker 7: matter day or night, good or bad. I'll give them
- 33:14Speaker 7: a lot of credit. The crowd shows up. It's going
- 33:16Speaker 7: to be a great environment. Looking forward to it. And
- 33:21Speaker 7: Lane Kiffin in his presser yesterday, he mentioned, yeah, I
- 33:23Speaker 7: was kind of rooting for Auburn. I wanted them to win.
- 33:26Speaker 7: I'm like, yeah, I like that.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Because I was too. It's like nothing against Georgia. I
- 33:32Speaker 2: love Kirby.
- 33:33Speaker 7: But LSU doesn't play Georgia. LSU plays Auburn. You want
- 33:37Speaker 7: to have a win today. that holds some weight. You
- 33:41Speaker 7: just beat the number one team in the country on
- 33:42Speaker 7: the road. So if you go out there and you
- 33:45Speaker 7: beat them, that win means something. If they would have
- 33:50Speaker 7: lost to Georgia, it really doesn't matter about how much,
- 33:53Speaker 7: but if they lose to Georgia, then this game doesn't
- 33:55Speaker 7: get as much conversation. But if you go out there
- 33:58Speaker 7: and you beat the team that just beat the number
- 34:00Speaker 7: one team in the country at their place, you're trying.
- 34:03Speaker 2: To build this resume.
- 34:04Speaker 7: And you used two mulligans early in the year. So,
- 34:09Speaker 7: Likely you don't have another one, but if you did,
- 34:12Speaker 7: if some, you know, some crazy stuff, 2007 stuff happened,
- 34:16Speaker 7: you got to have the best resume possible. So I
- 34:18Speaker 7: know some people are like surprised by that.
- 34:20Speaker 2: I was like, no, I get it. Cause I was
- 34:21Speaker 2: doing the same thing.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I was cheering hard for Auburn. Like you
- 34:25Speaker 3: have to like with, with two losses.
- 34:28Speaker 8: Under your belt before November, you have to get the
- 34:32Speaker 8: most quality wins you can.
- 34:33Speaker 3: And I get it. You got, you're playing a lot
- 34:35Speaker 3: of really good teams.
- 34:37Speaker 8: Um, you would have had an opportunity at home to
- 34:39Speaker 8: probably like what you thought of to have a really
- 34:42Speaker 8: great win versus texas maybe that's not going to look
- 34:45Speaker 8: as good so yeah like i was cheering hard hard
- 34:49Speaker 8: for auburn because if lsu wants a chance to be
- 34:53Speaker 8: one of the final 12 and have a opportunity to
- 34:56Speaker 8: get into that bracket first of all they got to
- 34:59Speaker 8: win a lot more games they they they I don't
- 35:02Speaker 8: know if you have to win out, but if you
- 35:03Speaker 8: don't win out, you need as many quality wins as possible.
- 35:07Speaker 8: And going into Auburn the week after they beat the
- 35:10Speaker 8: number one team at their place, that would be a
- 35:14Speaker 8: heck of a win.
- 35:15Speaker 3: For the resume. And you've got to have it.
- 35:19Speaker 8: This is, to me, if you want to reach your goals,
- 35:22Speaker 8: this is an absolute 100%, 1,000% must win this weekend
- 35:25Speaker 8: for LSU.
- 35:31Speaker 2: That's more than 100.
- 35:31Speaker 8: That's 10 times 100. That's 10 100%. Some people think
- 35:37Speaker 8: you can't get more than 100% of something.
- 35:40Speaker 3: I disagree.
- 35:40Speaker 7: Tate, you and I were talking about this a little
- 35:48Speaker 7: bit yesterday. The Auburn Tigers, the one thing that they
- 35:52Speaker 7: do well that makes you a little nervous is their
- 35:55Speaker 7: quarterback is their leading rusher. If there's been something that's
- 35:59Speaker 7: been a bugaboo for LSU, it has been quarterbacks that
- 36:02Speaker 7: can run out. You did really good against Marcel Reed
- 36:05Speaker 7: earlier in the year. That had been something for two years. Well, really,
- 36:10Speaker 7: you know, a half a football than a full game
- 36:14Speaker 7: that you struggled against. He's their leading rusher. He's thrown
- 36:19Speaker 7: a lot of interceptions. I think he's got eight touchdowns,
- 36:21Speaker 7: seven interceptions. He doesn't really scare you as much there.
- 36:24Speaker 7: But he can run the football, and they want to
- 36:26Speaker 7: get some numbers in the run game. So you add
- 36:27Speaker 7: the extra blocker in by having some Q runs.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Yeah, and you're catching him at the worst time, too, unfortunately.
- 36:33Speaker 1: He has back-to-back games now with over 100 yards rushing.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Those are his only two on the season. And four
- 36:40Speaker 1: straight games with at least one rushing touchdown. So, I mean,
- 36:43Speaker 1: you're catching him really at his peak right now. He's
- 36:46Speaker 1: up to almost 500 yards rushing. on the year, five touchdowns.
- 36:49Speaker 1: So to go along with that eight, yeah, that's the
- 36:51Speaker 1: key though. I mean, you stop Byron Brown on the ground,
- 36:54Speaker 1: you stop Auburn because let's say he does have time
- 36:57Speaker 1: to throw and let's say he is dialed in. I
- 36:59Speaker 1: trust PJ Woodland and DJ Pickett over any weapon they
- 37:02Speaker 1: have on the outside. Cam Coleman is not walking through
- 37:04Speaker 1: those doors on this team. I mean, they have some
- 37:07Speaker 1: solid weapons, but I like your secondary against every pass
- 37:10Speaker 1: catcher they have. Stop him on the ground and you're
- 37:12Speaker 1: in good shape.
- 37:14Speaker 7: Auburn right now is 14th. in the SEC and passing
- 37:20Speaker 7: yards per game at 212. They are sixth in the
- 37:24Speaker 7: SEC at rushing yards per game, 182 yards per game.
- 37:30Speaker 7: So it is certainly the thing that they do better. Now,
- 37:33Speaker 7: they only have eight rushing touchdowns on the year, so
- 37:36Speaker 7: that doesn't really match up with some of the better
- 37:38Speaker 7: rushing offenses in the league. South Carolina, who's number one,
- 37:41Speaker 7: they've got 13. Tennessee's got 18. Georgia's got 18. LSU's
- 37:44Speaker 7: got 20. Florida's got 20. They only have eight so
- 37:47Speaker 7: they're not finishing drives necessarily in the end zone. It's
- 37:50Speaker 7: been one of the reasons they've lost a couple of games.
- 37:53Speaker 7: But when you're 14th in passing, you're 6th in rushing,
- 37:57Speaker 7: your quarterback is your leading rusher. Pretty easy to say
- 38:03Speaker 7: that's your point of emphasis this week.
- 38:05Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 38:06Speaker 8: And with that, it's an advantage, certainly. It's something that
- 38:10Speaker 8: LSU's defense has struggled with, with a running quarterback. And
- 38:14Speaker 8: we can say over the last couple of years, certainly. Um,
- 38:18Speaker 8: but with that does come the opportunity to put them
- 38:21Speaker 8: in negative situations. Auburn's offense is 135th in the country
- 38:26Speaker 8: at sacks allowed averaging almost four sacks a game. Um,
- 38:31Speaker 8: and then there, another point of emphasis for us, like
- 38:34Speaker 8: once they get in the red zone, they're not great
- 38:35Speaker 8: at finishing. They're ranked 119th in the red zone as
- 38:39Speaker 8: red zone offense. So scoring once they get in the
- 38:41Speaker 8: red zone is a problem that might be coupled. I
- 38:43Speaker 8: hadn't watched the Auburn film yet. I will get into
- 38:46Speaker 8: that later. throughout this week. I don't know if it's
- 38:49Speaker 8: because of penalties or negative plays or taking the sacks
- 38:52Speaker 8: in the red zone. I don't know what it is,
- 38:54Speaker 8: but for whatever reason, they're only scoring 75% of the
- 38:57Speaker 8: time they get into the red zone. LSU's defense is
- 39:03Speaker 8: ranked 13th in the country at red zone defense, and
- 39:05Speaker 8: they're second in the country at sacks per game.
- 39:09Speaker 7: I fully expect Prince William and Mommy Ellen to be
- 39:11Speaker 7: back for this game as well. One of the nation's
- 39:15Speaker 7: top sacks being back for this game. Obviously a big,
- 39:20Speaker 7: big player to be able to try to get back
- 39:22Speaker 7: into the fold after he went out early last game
- 39:25Speaker 7: against Mississippi State. And then Ross had probably his best
- 39:28Speaker 7: game in an LSU uniform.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Last week. He had two and a half TFLs. He
- 39:32Speaker 2: had a sack. He was in the backfield all game long.
- 39:36Speaker 7: The Auburn Tigers right now struggle to protect their quarterback
- 39:39Speaker 7: and LSU's secondary rusher.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Probably had his best game. That's going to go a
- 39:46Speaker 2: pretty long way. And Deuce Gerald, I'd like to see
- 39:48Speaker 2: him get back.
- 39:48Speaker 8: In and that's and that's like giving up sacks is
- 39:52Speaker 8: part of the thing that's it's the give or take
- 39:54Speaker 8: when you have a quarterback like that when you got
- 39:55Speaker 8: a quarterback that's run for 459 yards and five touchdowns
- 39:58Speaker 8: on the season like he's going to try to make
- 40:00Speaker 8: plays with his feet and yeah you and you have
- 40:03Speaker 8: to be able to live with sacks and auburn that's
- 40:05Speaker 8: probably something that they they're okay with living with because
- 40:09Speaker 8: he is he does make plays with his feet right
- 40:11Speaker 8: so you are going to give it up but You
- 40:14Speaker 8: are going to be okay with giving up some sacks
- 40:17Speaker 8: as an Auburn offensive coach, Auburn head coach. They're going
- 40:20Speaker 8: to be okay with that as long as it doesn't, like,
- 40:23Speaker 8: get them out of red zone, field goal range, stuff
- 40:26Speaker 8: like that. So, I mean, it's something to look for.
- 40:28Speaker 8: LSU's going to have to change the way it pass rushes.
- 40:30Speaker 8: We've talked about it in past weeks. Like, for an
- 40:32Speaker 8: A & M game, you have to rush to a platform.
- 40:35Speaker 8: You have to rush to the quarterback's depth.
- 40:37Speaker 3: No further.
- 40:38Speaker 8: Don't give them easy A, B gap step-ups. Make him,
- 40:42Speaker 8: if he's going to scramble... outside the pocket.
- 40:44Speaker 2: All right, we will take a break.
- 40:46Speaker 7: We'll take a look at some of the other side
- 40:48Speaker 7: of the football for the Auburn Tigers when we come
- 40:50Speaker 7: back here on OTB.
- 40:52Speaker 10: Off the bench.
- 40:53Speaker 7: All right, go to RussellPools.com. Our friends over at Russell
- 40:58Speaker 7: Pool Company have been in the game since the 1960s
- 41:01Speaker 7: here in South Louisiana. There is nothing that they haven't seen.
- 41:04Speaker 7: What do you mean by that? Well, we've got some
- 41:05Speaker 7: harsh conditions here. I think we all know that with weather.
- 41:08Speaker 7: And so when you have a pool built, you've got
- 41:10Speaker 7: to make sure that it's by someone who understands that
- 41:13Speaker 7: And Russell Pool Company certainly does, again, being here since
- 41:15Speaker 7: the 1960s. Go ahead, get your consultation all set up,
- 41:19Speaker 7: have that conversation, design your dream in your backyard.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Go to russellpools.com. Well, it's October.
- 41:24Speaker 8: A lot of people are thinking, well, there's a fall
- 41:27Speaker 8: in the air, there's a crispness out there, maybe pool
- 41:29Speaker 8: season's over. Well, it doesn't have to be with Russell Pools.
- 41:33Speaker 8: Go to russellpools.com, see their gallery of work. They got
- 41:36Speaker 8: heated pools. They can heat it right on up, be comfortable.
- 41:38Speaker 8: And have you ever heard of a hot tub? My God.
- 41:41Speaker 8: Fall is great hot tub season. It's great hot tub weather.
- 41:44Speaker 8: A little cold drink in your hand in a hot
- 41:46Speaker 8: tub watching some football.
- 41:48Speaker 3: It's the best.
- 41:48Speaker 2: Give them a call. Have that consultation.
- 41:50Speaker 3: They're the best custom pool company in all of Louisiana.
- 41:52Speaker 2: RussellPools.com.
- 42:11Speaker 5: I want you to remember Those were good times we
- 42:19Speaker 5: had Sharing the joy that you thought we had Images
- 42:29Speaker 5: of love and affection.
- 42:47Speaker 7: Off the bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn, presented
- 42:51Speaker 7: by Community Steel.
- 42:55Speaker 2: All right, welcome back in.
- 42:56Speaker 7: OTB here live from the Razor King studio. We took
- 43:01Speaker 7: a look at the Auburn offense, where they ranked in
- 43:02Speaker 7: the SEC. Let's take a look at the defense. Right now,
- 43:05Speaker 7: Auburn is 12th in yards per game. They give up
- 43:08Speaker 7: 371 yards per game. yards per game. So again, that's
- 43:12Speaker 7: 12th right now in the SEC. Of course, total yards
- 43:16Speaker 7: offensively in the SEC, well, that's your LSU Fighting Tigers
- 43:18Speaker 7: at 504 yards per game. Passing yards per game. Auburn
- 43:24Speaker 7: is 10th in the SEC. They give up 228. On
- 43:27Speaker 7: the ground, they are 13th. They give up 143 yards
- 43:31Speaker 7: per game. So double digits there for the Auburn Tigers.
- 43:34Speaker 7: The only place that they're not... 96 in the country
- 43:36Speaker 7: in pass defense.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Yes.
- 43:37Speaker 7: The only place that they're not at least 10th or worse,
- 43:41Speaker 7: is points per game, they're 9th in the SEC, not
- 43:44Speaker 7: in the country.
- 43:45Speaker 2: 9th in the SEC. They give up 21.8 yards, or sorry,
- 43:49Speaker 2: points per game.
- 43:50Speaker 8: And we talked about their red zone offensive struggles. On defense,
- 43:54Speaker 8: they struggle to just give up. They give up a
- 43:56Speaker 8: lot of points. They're ranked 124th in the country, giving
- 43:59Speaker 8: up points 93.8% of the time when a team gets
- 44:02Speaker 8: into the red zone. But they are good at getting
- 44:04Speaker 8: to the quarterback sacks. They're ranked 24th. They average almost
- 44:07Speaker 8: three sacks. Per game and tackles for a loss. Average
- 44:11Speaker 8: of nearly seven.
- 44:12Speaker 7: Well, when you mention that, one of the guys who
