- 1:26Speaker 2: Former Alabama football coach Nick Saban testified on Capitol Hill
- 1:31Speaker 2: today and ask Congress to bring order to a system
- 1:35Speaker 2: that badly needs fix it, said Saban. Congress does not
- 1:39Speaker 2: need to micromanage college athletics.
- 1:43Speaker 1: They need to fix the mess.
- 1:44Speaker 2: In the courts and create a national framework so the
- 1:47Speaker 2: people inside college boards can enforce fair rules. Without that
- 1:52Speaker 2: legal certainty, every rule becomes another lawsuit, every standard becomes
- 1:56Speaker 2: another risk, and the system keeps drifting towards a professional model.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Saban testified along with support from Notre Dame Athletic Director Bavaqua,
- 2:10Speaker 2: Pac twelve Commissioner Teresa Gould, West Virginia President Gordon Gee
- 2:14Speaker 2: Utah defensive end Lance Holsklaw. That's the Protective Sports Act,
- 2:23Speaker 2: and we'll see what happens.
- 2:25Speaker 1: He says.
- 2:25Speaker 2: The bill isn't perfect, and I'm sure many many adjustments
- 2:29Speaker 2: need to be made, but he still supports it. College
- 2:34Speaker 2: football season was to have opened in Rio de Janio
- 2:37Speaker 2: between North Carolina State and Virginia. It's been moved to Charlottesville, Virginia.
- 2:43Speaker 2: The game initially scheduled to be played at Milton Santo Stadium,
- 2:49Speaker 2: a forty four thousand seat venue that hosted the twenty
- 2:52Speaker 2: sixteen Summer Olympics. According to the statement from NC State,
- 2:58Speaker 2: the game was moved after athletic advantage, which is putting
- 3:01Speaker 2: the game together and formed the acc the.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Event could not be conducted.
- 3:06Speaker 2: No reason yet as to why Johnny Manzell and Mike
- 3:14Speaker 2: Evans have been put on the ballot for the twenty
- 3:17Speaker 2: twenty seven Texas Sports Hall of Fame. Along with that ballot,
- 3:26Speaker 2: former Texas defensive back Michael Hoff Tech men's track and
- 3:30Speaker 2: field coach Wes Kinley women's basketball sisters, and I can't
- 3:36Speaker 2: pronounce their name. Former Tech quarterback Graham Harrell. Former Texas
- 3:41Speaker 2: defensive lineman Casey Hampton, Major League pitcher Carrie wood LaMarcus
- 3:46Speaker 2: Aldridge from the NBA. Des Bryant Baylor head coach Art Briles,
- 3:54Speaker 2: former Texas volleyball track and field athlete, The Destiny hooker,
- 4:00Speaker 2: Houston Street, Ryan Krowser, Caleb Thornton, Tyron Smith, Tshu sprinter
- 4:09Speaker 2: Ronnie Baker. I'm looking for an aggie here. Twelve player

- 4:21Speaker 2: former A and I quarterback Richard Ritchie, former Corpus High
- 4:25Speaker 2: School running back Johnny Roland, Spud Webb. Let's see Thomas Everett.
- 4:31Speaker 2: He's from Baylor. Still hasn't found an Aggie yet.
- 4:34Speaker 1: So there you go.
- 4:35Speaker 2: That's the ballot for the twenty twenty seven Texas Sports
- 4:40Speaker 2: Hall of Fame. The Texas Rangers, I'm gonna say this
- 4:43Speaker 2: slowly and carefully, are going for their sixth straight win
- 4:50Speaker 2: tonight and their second straight series sweep against the horrible
- 4:56Speaker 2: Saint Louis Cardinals. McKenzie gore a the mound. The Rangers
- 5:02Speaker 2: won last night with three in the ninth, seven to
- 5:04Speaker 2: four the final. The Astros got beat by the Pirates
- 5:10Speaker 2: last night. That's bad news for Astros fans. More bad
- 5:18Speaker 2: news is Paul Skeens is on the mound tonight. The
- 5:23Speaker 2: good news for the Astros opposing Paul Skeens is the
- 5:28Speaker 2: Major League Pitcher of the Month for the American League
- 5:33Speaker 2: Spencer Arraghetty.
- 5:36Speaker 1: In the month of May. He was four to one and.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Five starts, with an ERA of zero point nine to
- 5:41Speaker 2: three and a buck sixty five opponent batting average. Voting
- 5:47Speaker 2: for the twenty twenty six Major League Baseball All Star
- 5:51Speaker 2: Game opened up today. It's in Philadelphia, July fourteenth. Selection
- 5:58Speaker 2: of al starting position players DHS will be determined by
- 6:04Speaker 2: a fan vote. First two phases first one just started.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Teams have nominated one player each for each infield position
- 6:14Speaker 2: of DH three players for outfield. Fans will choose from
- 6:18Speaker 2: those nominees and they can write in votes. A proposed
- 6:23Speaker 2: future PGA Tour model that could take effect in two
- 6:27Speaker 2: years would include two tracks of tournaments, with players competing
- 6:31Speaker 2: to remain on the top track and golfers in the
- 6:34Speaker 2: lower track fighting to move up. It's really complicated. Track
- 6:41Speaker 2: one could include between fifteen and eighteen tour events, the
- 6:45Speaker 2: four Majors and the players Championship. Out of those or
- 6:49Speaker 2: eight what would be called signature events, there will be
- 6:54Speaker 2: cuts at thirty six holes Arena. Sablenka snatched a feet
- 7:00Speaker 2: from the jaws of victory at the French Open Quarters today.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Sablenka was serving for the match at five to three
- 7:09Speaker 2: when she unraveled, dropped the next ten games. Afterwards, said
- 7:15Speaker 2: no thoughts, Diana Schneider was the winner. No thoughts, no emotions,
- 7:22Speaker 2: just want to quit tennis. Right now, she said, We'll
- 7:25Speaker 2: see in a few days, hopefully I'll be back on
- 7:29Speaker 2: track mentally. And I meant to talk about this yesterday.
- 7:33Speaker 2: We talked a little bit about it, but not enough.
- 7:37Speaker 2: The Dallas Stars are moving to Plano and out of
- 7:42Speaker 2: the American Airline Center. The team announcing has signed a
- 7:46Speaker 2: non binding letter of intent to build an arena at
- 7:50Speaker 2: an entertainment district at the Shops at Willow Benn in Plano,
- 7:55Speaker 2: far North Dallas. That's one day after the Mavericks announced
- 8:00Speaker 2: they want to build arena at the Valley View Mall
- 8:06Speaker 2: site in Far North Dallas. These teams have sued each
- 8:10Speaker 2: other in court. It's ridiculous for them to be building
- 8:15Speaker 2: separate arenas in my opinion, especially leaving an arena that's
- 8:21Speaker 2: only twenty five years old. But they say that's what
- 8:27Speaker 2: they're going to do. Let's see m Yes, ob said,
- 8:39Speaker 2: is Mike Evans not on the list?
- 8:41Speaker 1: Yes?
- 8:42Speaker 2: I apologize if I just said Johnny Manziel, I thought
- 8:45Speaker 2: I said. Johnny Manziel and Mike Evans are on that list.
- 8:49Speaker 2: They are the two aggies on the ballot for the
- 8:53Speaker 2: Texas Sports Hall of Fame. So yes, sorry about that.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Mike Evans is on the list with Manzel, So there
- 9:02Speaker 2: you go.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Uh.
- 9:05Speaker 2: I think Menzel was on the ballot last year and
- 9:10Speaker 2: did not make it, So we'll see what happens this year.
- 9:19Speaker 2: And we talked about this Monday. You know, he only
- 9:22Speaker 2: played two years, but hey, he did win Heisman Trophy.
- 9:28Speaker 1: There are other things that come with that.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I understand that, but it goes back to the old
- 9:33Speaker 2: Hall of Fame thing. Is is it sports only? Is
- 9:39Speaker 2: it for what you did on the field, or is
- 9:43Speaker 2: hall of Fame also after you know, the field, off
- 9:48Speaker 2: the field stuff? So all right, we are going to
- 9:56Speaker 2: wait a minute, let me h, let me pull this
- 9:58Speaker 2: up because I have I have so much. I'm excited
- 10:02Speaker 2: for Monday because Anthony Morris is going to join us.
- 10:06Speaker 2: He is the director of a brand new movie that
- 10:10Speaker 2: is out this next week called Pressure. It is on
- 10:14Speaker 2: D Day, but it is really interesting. It focuses on
- 10:18Speaker 2: the seventy two hours before D Day. It talks about
- 10:24Speaker 2: a lot about Dwight Eisenhower, the decision to do it,
- 10:28Speaker 2: the weather which we know was brutal on D Day.
- 10:34Speaker 2: The movie is called Pressure, and I'll visit with the
- 10:38Speaker 2: director on Monday's program. Tuesday, I'm going to be visiting
- 10:48Speaker 2: with the daughter of Richard Pryor, Elizabeth. The book is
- 10:55Speaker 2: something we said, Richard Pryor a notorious word and me
- 11:05Speaker 2: it is a really interesting proposition, and we will hear
- 11:11Speaker 2: from her next week. Tomorrow. Ron Friedman joins me. His
- 11:19Speaker 2: book is called Super Teams, The Science and Secrets of
- 11:24Speaker 2: High Performing Teams. Now this includes, but is not limited.
- 11:30Speaker 1: To sports teams.
- 11:32Speaker 2: We're talking about business teams as well, So he will
- 11:39Speaker 2: be with us on the program tomorrow. Kirk Bowles will
- 11:43Speaker 2: join me for his final visit of this season. Always
- 11:51Speaker 2: a sad day for both of us, I believe, And
- 11:54Speaker 2: you go, well, Chip, why don't you talk to him
- 11:56Speaker 2: all summer? Well, I probably could do that, but Kirt
- 11:59Speaker 2: needs breather. I need a breather, and there's not much
- 12:04Speaker 2: to talk about except for the third team offensive tackle and.
- 12:11Speaker 1: We're not gonna do that.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Okay, We're going to spend the majority of this show
- 12:15Speaker 2: breaking down the NBA Finals, So phone the neighbors and
- 12:20Speaker 2: wake the kids. But before that, we're gonna hear from
- 12:24Speaker 2: Joel Klatt of Fox Sports after this for Chad Jones' Law.
- 12:30Speaker 5: I'm Chad Jones We know sports injuries hurt, and so
- 12:33Speaker 5: do injuries from car recks. But you didn't sign up
- 12:35Speaker 5: to be in a car wreck with someone who wasn't
- 12:37Speaker 5: paying attention. It was their fault and now you're left
- 12:39Speaker 5: to deal with the consequences. You need to see a doctor,
- 12:42Speaker 5: and you're missing work. Chad Jones Law can help. We've
- 12:44Speaker 5: been helping our neighbors for more than two decades. Stop
- 12:47Speaker 5: getting frustrated with the other side's foot dragging. Remember, don't
- 12:51Speaker 5: get mad. Get Chad. Call Chad Jones Law at ninety
- 12:54Speaker 5: seven nine five to ninety five five thousand, or go
- 12:56Speaker 5: online to Chad Jones Law dot com.
- 12:59Speaker 6: It's Tech Tags Live. Brought to you by David Garters
- 13:01Speaker 6: Jewelers Coffy.
- 13:03Speaker 7: No.
- 13:03Speaker 4: I was just gonna say for tonight, I.
- 13:06Speaker 8: Think this team did more than I expected preseason, but
- 13:11Speaker 8: that changed.
- 13:12Speaker 9: That evolved with the success that we had.
- 13:14Speaker 4: In the middle of the season.
- 13:15Speaker 9: And then I show, yeah, this is on the show.
- 13:18Speaker 10: This segment goes on for another couple of minutes.
- 13:19Speaker 9: Do you want to hit a break?
- 13:20Speaker 2: No, I didn't know we were ever even on yea, yeah,
- 13:23Speaker 2: the shows from eight to eleven.
- 13:24Speaker 8: Okay, did I cuss or no, no, no, I literally didn't know.
- 13:27Speaker 6: We were on TexAgs Live weekdays from eight to eleven
- 13:30Speaker 6: on the Zone.
- 13:50Speaker 4: Open arms, guy, it didn't light.
- 13:55Speaker 11: Be kind of open.
- 14:00Speaker 12: Stars and stripes, a spirit that's always gonna fly.
- 14:07Speaker 11: What makes us different, makes us strong.
- 14:13Speaker 12: Together, we will carry the heart.
- 14:20Speaker 11: Our very color. It's still dreaming, dreaming of fast come
- 14:35Speaker 11: and speed reading like a drum.
- 14:44Speaker 9: Heard about me.
- 14:48Speaker 11: Because it's a hand reaching out.
- 15:01Speaker 10: To your brother in a almin of death.
- 15:07Speaker 4: The freedom in our lungs.
- 15:10Speaker 11: To sing a song misciver messa and that's room for everyone.
- 15:20Speaker 2: The horror.
- 15:23Speaker 11: Of the Marpa. It's still dreaming, dreaming of things to come.
- 15:37Speaker 11: It's beating, beating like a drum. The heart other Manica.
- 15:55Speaker 11: We've seen it lead.
- 15:57Speaker 4: We've seen it break. When you think it's in all
- 16:02Speaker 4: it is cante.
- 16:04Speaker 11: It rings a house good, loud, like the Liberty.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Man the herd.
- 16:15Speaker 2: All right, that's Willie. It's called the Heart of America.
- 16:19Speaker 2: From the soundtrack of the Greyhouse. If you haven't seen
- 16:22Speaker 2: The Gray House, highly recommend it. It's a civil war
- 16:25Speaker 2: period streaming peace and I wish I remembered which streaming service.
- 16:30Speaker 1: It was, but I don't.
- 16:33Speaker 2: I bet Trey could find that for me. But it's
- 16:36Speaker 2: it's very well done and well acted and could have
- 16:40Speaker 2: been Netflix. I have Netflix, I know, but.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Does it say.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Yeah, that's okay, we'll figure it out. Okay, let's do this.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I said, we're gonna hear from Joel Clatt. We're gonna
- 16:56Speaker 2: hear from Joel Clatt. Joel Clatt, of course, is a
- 16:58Speaker 2: Fox Sports football analyst. He has a podcasts, he has
- 17:03Speaker 2: a TV show. SEC people says he hates the SEC.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Louis told me that this morning. I didn't know he
- 17:11Speaker 2: hated the SEC. I was Joel's big mentor. I think
- 17:14Speaker 2: I've told that story before when he was first getting started,
- 17:18Speaker 2: played football quarterback at the University of Colorado, came to Denver.
- 17:23Speaker 2: It wasn't Denver. It was a big Maybe it wasn't
- 17:26Speaker 2: Denver for big twelve media days.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I don't know where it was.
- 17:30Speaker 2: But Joel was new to the equipment, new to the business,
- 17:34Speaker 2: and he only is in the business now because of me.
- 17:38Speaker 2: So you can blame me if you don't like Joel Klatt.
- 17:40Speaker 2: I happen to like him. And let's hear what he
- 17:44Speaker 2: had to say about the SEC meetings this last week
- 17:48Speaker 2: and destined.
- 17:50Speaker 8: So I thought that we should recap what we learned
- 17:52Speaker 8: from the SEC Spring meetings, and I got to be honest.
- 17:55Speaker 10: It wasn't a lot. We thought that there would be
- 17:57Speaker 10: some information.
- 17:58Speaker 8: Remember, there was some anticipation about a potential playoff model
- 18:04Speaker 8: being backed by everybody else in college football. What would
- 18:06Speaker 8: the SEC come out and say and what did we
- 18:08Speaker 8: get propaganda? Awesome, let's get into it. The five things
- 18:12Speaker 8: that we learned in Destin, Florida at SEC Spring meetings.
- 18:16Speaker 8: Let's start with what Greg Sankie said, and it was basically, hey,
- 18:20Speaker 8: we're the best. And it was like, wait, how about
- 18:23Speaker 8: everything else that's going on in college football? We're just
- 18:25Speaker 8: gonna wash over that. We're not going to talk about
- 18:27Speaker 8: playoff formats or anything. We're just gonna sit here and
- 18:29Speaker 8: wave the flag. Yes, that's exactly what happened. This is
- 18:32Speaker 8: what he said.
- 18:33Speaker 10: Greg Sanki said, if you look at.
- 18:34Speaker 8: The entirety of our league, we are, by far, he said,
- 18:38Speaker 8: the most competitive, the strongest football league by far. What
- 18:41Speaker 8: you're going but you're going to lose games when it's
- 18:45Speaker 8: close and competitive like that. So we have so why
- 18:49Speaker 8: have they surpassed us? It's an oddball it's a bounce
- 18:52Speaker 8: a couple of times the wrong way. Okay, that is
- 19:00Speaker 8: I like Greg a lot. And here's the thing, what's
- 19:02Speaker 8: he supposed to say. Of course he's gonna say that.
- 19:05Speaker 8: Does the language go too far? Obviously? Obviously they are
- 19:09Speaker 8: not by far the best conference in college football, And candidly,
- 19:14Speaker 8: I don't even know if you can call them the
- 19:16Speaker 8: best conference in college football. Now here's the thing you
- 19:20Speaker 8: can get caught up in, just kind of like this
- 19:22Speaker 8: mud slinging and like we're the best, we're the best.
- 19:24Speaker 8: Why don't we just go to the data? Why don't
- 19:26Speaker 8: we call balls and strikes? Because here's the thing. At
- 19:29Speaker 8: a meeting like that, Greg is saying this to a
- 19:31Speaker 8: group of writers who largely want that to be true,
- 19:35Speaker 8: and he's writing that to a group of consumers who
- 19:37Speaker 8: largely want that to be true. So at that point
- 19:40Speaker 8: he's just talking to his base, right, like that's his job.
- 19:44Speaker 8: So I'm not blaming him for saying this. But if
- 19:47Speaker 8: you go to the data, the datas suggests something very different.
- 19:51Speaker 8: If you believe what he said deep down in your heart,
- 19:53Speaker 8: it's because you want to believe what he said. You
- 19:56Speaker 8: don't want to see the data you don't want to
- 19:59Speaker 8: see the truth, and that's fine, and that makes college
- 20:02Speaker 8: football great. By the way, if you're a fan and
- 20:04Speaker 8: you're mad right now because you since what I'm about
- 20:06Speaker 8: to talk about and you're thinking to yourself, like, no
- 20:09Speaker 8: way here he goes, that's fine because the.
- 20:12Speaker 10: Passion in our sport is what makes our sport great.
- 20:14Speaker 8: But what the data suggests is that what Greg said
- 20:18Speaker 8: is absolutely false, absolutely false.
- 20:21Speaker 10: Here's what the data suggests.
- 20:23Speaker 8: If you just go to the biggest games in the country,
- 20:26Speaker 8: the biggest games in college football, the College Football Playoff,
- 20:30Speaker 8: what you would see is something that we've talked about
- 20:31Speaker 8: and a lot of people have talked about. By the way,
- 20:33Speaker 8: the Big ten is four and oh over the SEC
- 20:35Speaker 8: over the last three playoffs. Four and oh is not
- 20:38Speaker 8: a small thing.
- 20:39Speaker 10: Now, it's not.
- 20:40Speaker 8: This is not twenty twelve. This is not twenty and
- 20:44Speaker 8: sixteen fifteen. I'm sorry, Like Nick Saban is no longer
- 20:47Speaker 8: there with his big old coat tails for you to
- 20:50Speaker 8: ride as a conference, it's not that way anymore.
- 20:53Speaker 10: And the actual data suggests something different.
- 20:57Speaker 8: And I know he was talking about a very narrow
- 20:59Speaker 8: definition of bet conference, but that's what they used forever forever.
- 21:03Speaker 8: So I'm using their own definition in terms of talking
- 21:06Speaker 8: about the championships.
- 21:07Speaker 10: But there's more.
- 21:08Speaker 8: But that's obviously the tip of the iceberg. Michigan beat
- 21:11Speaker 8: Alabama in overtime in twenty twenty three. Close game, really
- 21:14Speaker 8: great game. Ohio State blew the doors off of Tennessee.
- 21:17Speaker 8: Sorry about that, ballfans. In twenty twenty four, Ohio State
- 21:20Speaker 8: beat Texas. Great matchup in that semi final. Obviously the
- 21:23Speaker 8: Jack Sawyer play in twenty twenty four. Indiana blew the
- 21:27Speaker 8: doors off of Alabama and the Rose Bowl last year
- 21:30Speaker 8: in twenty twenty five, that game was not close. In fact,
- 21:34Speaker 8: here's what's interesting if you were to actually look at
- 21:36Speaker 8: some of these playoff games over the last three years,
- 21:39Speaker 8: in the time in which the Big Ten has won
- 21:40Speaker 8: three national championships, but not just three national championships with
- 21:44Speaker 8: three different programs. See, that's the interesting part that the
- 21:47Speaker 8: SEC teams don't want to talk about. This is not
- 21:49Speaker 8: one program that you can just point to and say, oh,
- 21:51Speaker 8: it's just one program somewhere else. Three different teams won
- 21:54Speaker 8: Natties in the Big Ten alone. And when you look
- 21:58Speaker 8: at some of the margins in the game games in
- 22:00Speaker 8: the CFP. You find something very interesting.
- 22:04Speaker 10: Check this out.
- 22:05Speaker 8: Two of the three largest margins in the playoff over
- 22:09Speaker 8: the last three years and power four versus Power four matchups. Okay,
- 22:14Speaker 8: so throw the group of five teams out, throw the
- 22:17Speaker 8: jmus and the two lanes and all of that out
- 22:19Speaker 8: if you're just talking about Power four versus Power four
- 22:23Speaker 8: interconference games. Indiana by thirty five over Alabama and Ohio
- 22:27Speaker 8: State by twenty five over Tennessee are two of the
- 22:30Speaker 8: three largest margins and all of the CFP Power four
- 22:34Speaker 8: versus Power four. So no, it's not just a bounce. Greg,
- 22:38Speaker 8: I'm sorry. It wasn't just a bounce. When Indiana ran
- 22:41Speaker 8: the ball fifty times at Alabama. It wasn't just a bounce.
- 22:44Speaker 8: When the death Star super Nova Buckeyes absolutely brought the wood.
- 22:49Speaker 10: To Tennessee, that wasn't even a game. It wasn't even
- 22:52Speaker 10: a game.
- 22:52Speaker 8: But you wouldn't have known that based on the commentary
- 22:55Speaker 8: in that game, because the commentary was safe for Haight
- 22:58Speaker 8: against Indiana in that year when they were getting beat
- 23:01Speaker 8: by Notre Dame in a game that was much closer
- 23:04Speaker 8: than what the Tennessee Ohio State game was.
- 23:06Speaker 10: But again, narrative what do you want to believe? Who
- 23:10Speaker 10: are you getting your news from?
- 23:13Speaker 8: Two of the three largest margins in the playoffs over
- 23:15Speaker 8: the last three years in Power four versus Power four
- 23:18Speaker 8: matchups are Indiana by thirty five over Bama and Ohio
- 23:22Speaker 8: State by twenty five over Tennessee. Where's the bounce there?
- 23:27Speaker 8: I'm not seeing the bounce there. Last three playoffs, the
- 23:30Speaker 8: SEC is two and five versus other Power four teams
- 23:33Speaker 8: plus Notre Dame two and five, not just zero to
- 23:37Speaker 8: four against the Big ten, two and five against all
- 23:40Speaker 8: other Power four conferences. In fact, did you know that
- 23:43Speaker 8: the only two Power four wins the SEC has over
- 23:47Speaker 8: other conferences in the playoff over that time frame both
- 23:51Speaker 8: Texas and twenty twenty four Clemson and then the double
- 23:55Speaker 8: overtime game against Arizona State.
- 23:56Speaker 10: How about the bounce there? Greg?
- 23:59Speaker 8: Do you think Arizona State has an argument because that
- 24:02Speaker 8: bounce in double overtime probably could have gone their way?
- 24:05Speaker 10: Do you see where I'm going with this?
- 24:07Speaker 8: See, Like, if you just want to lean in wholeheartedly
- 24:10Speaker 8: and be like, yeah, that's absolutely true, it's because you
- 24:13Speaker 8: want it to be true. You can go past the
- 24:14Speaker 8: CFP if you don't want to narrow it down to
- 24:16Speaker 8: the CFP and non cf people games. Last season, the
- 24:19Speaker 8: SEC went one in five against other powerful conferences like
- 24:25Speaker 8: this is supposedly like the strength here. This is supposed
- 24:28Speaker 8: to be where you're getting this depth out of this conference.
- 24:30Speaker 8: You see, I'm getting worked up because we constantly hear this,
- 24:34Speaker 8: and I understand that that's what they should say. But
- 24:37Speaker 8: it is narrative and it is false. It is false
- 24:42Speaker 8: backed up by the data. The data suggests something very different.
- 24:47Speaker 8: Two and five in the playoff and then non cf
- 24:50Speaker 8: people games, SEC went one in five. Illinois beat Tennessee,
- 24:54Speaker 8: Iowa beat Vanderbilt. No one likes to talk up Iowa
- 24:57Speaker 8: or Illinois. You don't see people in the Big ten
- 25:00Speaker 8: opping up Iowa and Illinois as some like world beaters.
- 25:03Speaker 8: But we get that out of the SEC when we're
- 25:05Speaker 8: talking about Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Texas did handle Michigan. That
- 25:08Speaker 8: was a great win for Texas. All call balls and strikes.
- 25:12Speaker 8: You come out and win some games this year. Texas
- 25:14Speaker 8: beats Ohio State, Oklahoma beats Michigan.
- 25:17Speaker 10: You dominating the CFPN.
- 25:18Speaker 8: Guess what you're back on top because we allow the
- 25:21Speaker 8: data here to tell us what's actually going on?
- 25:25Speaker 10: That's what I like to do. Think about it this way.
- 25:29Speaker 8: We just saw the Cavs get swept by the Knicks, right,
- 25:32Speaker 8: you know, I mean, we're all sports fans.
- 25:34Speaker 10: Here was that a close series? I didn't think it was.
- 25:38Speaker 10: I mean, a sweep is a sweep?
- 25:40Speaker 4: Right?
- 25:41Speaker 10: Oh?
- 25:41Speaker 8: And four sound familiar? Last three playoffs owing four big
- 25:44Speaker 8: ten SEC. James Harden, though, felt differently. He took the
- 25:48Speaker 8: Greg Zanking mold and he was like, you know what, genuinely,
- 25:50Speaker 8: I do feel like we are the better team.
- 25:53Speaker 10: I'm sorry.
- 25:56Speaker 8: Does anyone believe that? The answers no, So why would
- 26:02Speaker 8: anybody believe what Greg Sanki was saying?
- 26:06Speaker 10: It's not true.
- 26:09Speaker 8: It wasn't true that the Cavs are the better team
- 26:11Speaker 8: when they lost by thirty seven in the closeout game
- 26:13Speaker 8: in Game four, or lost by thirteen in Game three
- 26:16Speaker 8: at home, or lost by sixteen in game two?
- 26:20Speaker 10: Game one?
- 26:20Speaker 8: Was the only close game? Was that the bounce we're
- 26:23Speaker 8: talking about? Here's the deal. I will gladly call balls
- 26:28Speaker 8: and strikes. When you were the best conference, I said
- 26:31Speaker 8: you were the best conference. The SEC dominated the sport
- 26:34Speaker 8: for a long time, and it's been hard for them
- 26:36Speaker 8: to admit the truth. And you know what, you don't
- 26:38Speaker 8: have to admit the truth. But the propaganda is what
- 26:41Speaker 8: drives everybody else insane. You are not by far the
- 26:45Speaker 8: best conference, You're not even the best conference, and the
- 26:49Speaker 8: data backs that up.
- 26:51Speaker 10: So what do we learn?
- 26:52Speaker 8: They fell right back on their narrative, fell right back
- 26:56Speaker 8: on their narrative. What's number two of what we learned
- 26:58Speaker 8: at SEC media Day. They don't have a plan for
- 27:00Speaker 8: the CFP. I thought that we would get something along
- 27:04Speaker 8: the lines of backing some sort of structure.
- 27:06Speaker 10: We've seen that from every other league.
- 27:07Speaker 8: We've seen that from the AFCA American Football Coaches Association.
- 27:13Speaker 8: Everybody has been at least trying to back some sort
- 27:16Speaker 8: of CFP model. Now, in the past, Greg Sank has
- 27:18Speaker 8: backed a sixteen team model, but there.
- 27:22Speaker 10: Wasn't anything official. Last week.
- 27:24Speaker 8: Greg Zankee said via Ross Dellinger that the SEC's timeline
- 27:29Speaker 8: on the decision on a twenty four team CFP expansion
- 27:32Speaker 8: will likely come in the full so not in the
- 27:35Speaker 8: spring meetings. Okay, so there was nothing new and nothing beneficial.
- 27:40Speaker 8: They didn't put their stamp on or their name on
- 27:43Speaker 8: we favor of this model. We didn't even get like, no,
- 27:46Speaker 8: we wanted to stand pat We like twelve. We didn't
- 27:48Speaker 8: get the we like sixteen. We didn't get we like
- 27:52Speaker 8: twenty four. That's not what we got. We didn't get anything.
- 27:56Speaker 8: And that leads you to a conclusion. Here's the conclusion
- 27:59Speaker 8: that you can obviously reach for what went on in
- 28:02Speaker 8: Destin Florida and what's going on right now in the SEC.
- 28:07Speaker 8: I don't think they have any unification. They don't have
- 28:12Speaker 8: any consensus of what they want. I think that you've
- 28:15Speaker 8: got the coaches and athletic directors wanting one thing. I
- 28:18Speaker 8: think you've got a portion of the presidents wanting one thing.
- 28:21Speaker 8: I think you've got Greg and the office wanting another.
- 28:23Speaker 8: You've got their partner wanting another. And they don't have
- 28:28Speaker 8: a cohesive message right now. If they had a cohesive message,
- 28:31Speaker 8: we would have heard it. We would have heard it.
- 28:35Speaker 8: I think that they've got some dissension and the evidence
- 28:41Speaker 8: is that there was nothing that came out of the meetings.
- 28:45Speaker 8: What do you mean we'll have a decision on expansion
- 28:48Speaker 8: in the fall. I'm sorry. There's meetings in June for
- 28:52Speaker 8: the CFP and Denver, so you're not going to have
- 28:56Speaker 8: an answer by then, and let's just backtrack for a moment,
- 28:59Speaker 8: because remember the CFP and its format. It's only going
- 29:02Speaker 8: to change if the SEC and the Big ten agree
- 29:05Speaker 8: on a format change. Now again, I'm not sitting here
- 29:08Speaker 8: saying that you have to like the twenty four, you
- 29:10Speaker 8: have to like the twelve, or you have to like
- 29:12Speaker 8: the sixteen. It's just that we didn't hear anything from
- 29:15Speaker 8: the SEC, which tells me that they did not have
- 29:17Speaker 8: a consensus. They did not have a unified voice and
- 29:21Speaker 8: a meeting where they all pounded the table and said
- 29:23Speaker 8: the same thing. You saw that in every other conference.
- 29:25Speaker 8: I thought that was very fascinating. I think that they're
- 29:28Speaker 8: gonna try to filibuster.
- 29:30Speaker 10: He says.
- 29:30Speaker 8: A likely expansion decision will come in the fall, when
- 29:33Speaker 8: there's meetings in June.
- 29:35Speaker 10: You see.
- 29:35Speaker 8: The longer that they can just drag this out, then
- 29:38Speaker 8: nothing's going to change because the Big ten and the
- 29:40Speaker 8: SEC have to agree based on the memoral of understanding.
- 29:44Speaker 8: So they're just going to filibuster, which, by the way,
- 29:47Speaker 8: maybe not a bad strategy if you're the SEC. The
- 29:50Speaker 8: twelve team format with a selection based committee has really worked.
- 29:54Speaker 8: You got five teams in and partly because the narrative
- 29:57Speaker 8: which your partner and you push so heavily favors you, which.
- 30:02Speaker 10: That's great, that's great for them.
- 30:04Speaker 8: Okay, But obviously we operate in silos in college football,
- 30:08Speaker 8: and that's one of the silos that we're operating in here.
- 30:10Speaker 8: I think that the the the lack of unified voice
- 30:13Speaker 8: was something that was honestly, the silence deafening to me.
- 30:18Speaker 8: I was like, Oh, they clearly have some major dissension
- 30:22Speaker 8: amongst all the decision makers in there. Maybe they're still
- 30:25Speaker 8: waiting to hear about the finances and how the finances
- 30:27Speaker 8: would shake out, because remember, I do think the two
- 30:30Speaker 8: most valuable conference championship games are the Big ten of
- 30:33Speaker 8: the SEC and maybe the SECS is a touch more
- 30:36Speaker 8: valuable in particular to them, which which is fine. And
- 30:40Speaker 8: so they would have to find out what are the
- 30:42Speaker 8: what are the finances of expansion if we get rid
- 30:45Speaker 8: of a conference championship game, how do we recoup that investment?
- 30:48Speaker 8: How do we recruit that revenue? Certainly, and that's something
- 30:52Speaker 8: that they're going to have to check out. So what
- 30:54Speaker 8: do we as a college football.
- 30:57Speaker 10: Fan base have to look out for? What's next?
- 30:59Speaker 8: Those CFP meetings in June, although based on Ross Dellinger's tweet,
- 31:03Speaker 8: I don't know if we're going to get much if
- 31:05Speaker 8: the SEC is not going to come with an idea
- 31:07Speaker 8: or back an idea by June.
- 31:09Speaker 2: That's Joel Klatt on his podcast giving you another opinion,
- 31:17Speaker 2: which we like to do here from time to time.

- 33:56Speaker 7: You're not.
- 33:56Speaker 16: They had a good draft last year. They have some
- 33:58Speaker 16: interesting young pieces. It makes sense, as hard as it
- 34:02Speaker 16: is for fans to swallow because you love Miles Garrett,
- 34:05Speaker 16: it's not helping.

- 35:10Speaker 2: that was just released about three days ago. Scott Clintonon
- 35:14Speaker 2: is here with us, and I told you I have
- 35:18Speaker 2: a ton of topics today.
- 35:19Speaker 10: Thank you.
- 35:20Speaker 1: Uh oh, let's get your mic turned on.
- 35:22Speaker 11: There you go.
- 35:23Speaker 1: I guess we got you.
- 35:24Speaker 9: You got me?
- 35:25Speaker 17: Yeah?
- 35:25Speaker 9: Okay, by the way, yes, it's almost on the threes
- 35:32Speaker 9: for the weather on the threes.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Oh, we're not doing weather on threes. I think the
- 35:36Speaker 2: weather was on the twoes. And we're still having meetings
- 35:39Speaker 2: as to what the weather is going to be.
- 35:41Speaker 9: Well, so you're not until people slow down right now,
- 35:44Speaker 9: because right.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Now side yeah you people slowed down and put your
- 35:48Speaker 2: lights on and make sure your Winchal wipers are good
- 35:51Speaker 2: because you can go to SEV Chacks and they'll replace
- 35:53Speaker 2: them while you sit in your car.
- 35:55Speaker 1: You won't even have to get wet or nothing.
- 35:57Speaker 2: For me, something as simple as a windshield wiper replacement
- 36:02Speaker 2: is about a four cuss word job.
- 36:04Speaker 1: So I just let the professionals take take take it over.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Uh, we've got the baseball college Uh, the baseball super
- 36:13Speaker 2: Regionals starting uh Friday with USC and North Carolina.
- 36:22Speaker 1: There's a missing team there.
- 36:25Speaker 17: Uh, just now there's two missing teams. Who else is Missingessee?
- 36:30Speaker 1: That's right? But but uh, I think you picked UCLA
- 36:34Speaker 1: as well to be there?
- 36:37Speaker 18: Did you?
- 36:38Speaker 1: Did you not pick Ucla to be part of the
- 36:40Speaker 1: super regionals?
- 36:41Speaker 9: I also picked Georgia Tech.
- 36:43Speaker 1: And didn't you pick Uh? Did you pick Florida?
- 36:47Speaker 7: No?
- 36:47Speaker 9: I picked Miami.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Actually, oh yeah, that's right, you did. You lost out there,
- 36:51Speaker 2: so did Florida. Florida lost out too. Uh, Ucla lost out,
- 36:56Speaker 2: Georgia Tech lost out. So I mentioned this, I think
- 37:01Speaker 2: on Monday. But the quality of college baseball, in my mind,
- 37:09Speaker 2: has gotten better and better the last few years.
- 37:13Speaker 17: Yes, agreed, since they cut the draft from fifty to twenty,
- 37:17Speaker 17: it has gotten better and better.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Does INIL play any role in college baseball?
- 37:24Speaker 9: Yes?
- 37:24Speaker 7: It does?
- 37:25Speaker 10: Okay, I think.
- 37:30Speaker 9: I know we're not going to have a big discussion
- 37:32Speaker 9: about softball.
- 37:34Speaker 17: Correct, But you've got one team in the finals that
- 37:37Speaker 17: is completely in IL built, and you got one team
- 37:42Speaker 17: in the finals.
- 37:44Speaker 9: That has in IL.
- 37:47Speaker 17: But a bunch of those girls wearing orange wanted to
- 37:49Speaker 17: go to Texas more than they wanted to make a paycheck.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Okay, you're saying Texas Tech is there primarily because they're paid.
- 37:58Speaker 9: Only primarily only.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Well, I mean I knew, I knew they made headlines
- 38:04Speaker 2: with the pitcher, you know, and that I would argue
- 38:08Speaker 2: despite them losing in the finals last year, they've pretty
- 38:11Speaker 2: much gotten their money's worth out of her.
- 38:13Speaker 17: Yeah, but they they spent three million dollars this year
- 38:18Speaker 17: for the other six players on the field.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Okay, so.
- 38:24Speaker 17: In IL if you if you want to look at
- 38:28Speaker 17: that as compared to everybody else, if all of a
- 38:34Speaker 17: sudden you told Jerry Jones, everybody in the NFL has
- 38:37Speaker 17: a syarhy cap except you can you make changes in
- 38:42Speaker 17: what your program is, Well, you probably can't. Now, the
- 38:47Speaker 17: team that spent the most on nil.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Was LSU in baseball or softball at baseball, Okay, in baseball,
- 38:56Speaker 2: that didn't work out for them, didn't work out for them. Yeah,
- 38:59Speaker 2: you stef have to coach stiff to have team chemistry.
- 39:01Speaker 2: It's like pro sports, now, yes, because you look at
- 39:04Speaker 2: all of these culture Yeah, all of that stuff actually
- 39:07Speaker 2: does matter. It does matter coaching matters. Yes, yes, coaching
- 39:11Speaker 2: does matter.
- 39:12Speaker 17: I mean, does Kentucky basketball look better because they got
- 39:16Speaker 17: the guy from Iowa State.
- 39:18Speaker 1: I'm civic to change to them. They better be better.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Yes, I'm just telling you that they better be better.
- 39:26Speaker 2: I don't know what they paid. Have you seen any
- 39:27Speaker 2: figures thrown out?
- 39:28Speaker 18: Not?
- 39:29Speaker 2: I mean, I'm sure it's exorbitant. It's enough to keep
- 39:32Speaker 2: him in college, not the NBA draft. It was enough
- 39:37Speaker 2: for him to leave because I think he was he
- 39:39Speaker 2: was going to be a fairly high draft pick because
- 39:42Speaker 2: he's one of the best shooters in the country and
- 39:44Speaker 2: he was the best shooter in college basketball last year.
- 39:47Speaker 1: So I don't know, throw out a figure three four
- 39:50Speaker 1: five million?
- 39:51Speaker 2: You think he got five to seven and a half
- 39:54Speaker 2: at Kentucky at Kentucky.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Okay, And look, we already know this.
- 40:00Speaker 2: Because of the money being spent, there's, if it's possible,
- 40:04Speaker 2: there's even more pressure on these coaches. Pope was gonna
- 40:07Speaker 2: have pressure whether or not I'm Sielovich came or not.
- 40:10Speaker 2: But now that they've written that check for this guy,
- 40:13Speaker 2: I mean massive pressure on him.
- 40:15Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 40:15Speaker 1: If they don't win, yeah, yeah, he's out, He's out. Yeah,
- 40:19Speaker 1: no doubt he's out.
- 40:20Speaker 9: Yes.
- 40:20Speaker 1: Uh thoughts on USC this weekend at Olsen.
- 40:26Speaker 9: How did they not hit the rest of the year.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean they hit the heck out of the ball.
- 40:31Speaker 2: They caught the ball that shortstops very impressive player.
- 40:34Speaker 17: Well, I'm just saying they had played ten you know,
- 40:38Speaker 17: they had gone one and nine and top twenty five.
- 40:40Speaker 1: But I'm saying they had a bad They had a
- 40:42Speaker 1: bad last three weeks of the season, probably right, But.
- 40:47Speaker 17: But to go one in nine against that the top
- 40:51Speaker 17: twenty five RPI teams. Okay, so you played ten games,
- 40:55Speaker 17: so you played forty five games against ones that weren't
- 40:58Speaker 17: below that.
- 40:58Speaker 9: That's what I looked at.
- 40:59Speaker 17: Two said, I didn't just look at a two seventy
- 41:02Speaker 17: five batting average in those ten games. That I'm saying,
- 41:06Speaker 17: if you didn't play anybody in the other forty five games,
- 41:09Speaker 17: why is your offense not very elevated?
- 41:13Speaker 9: Okay? And then to come here and hit like they did, was,
- 41:18Speaker 9: you know, amazing for them.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Well, again, in any tournament atmosphere, we talked every year
- 41:28Speaker 2: it's not necessarily the best team, but the team that's
- 41:31Speaker 2: playing the best at the right time, and they chip.
- 41:35Speaker 17: Saturday, every single outlet talking head. Every single one. After
- 41:43Speaker 17: UCLA lost the first game on Friday, every single one
- 41:48Speaker 17: of them said, after watching Georgia Tech go to and zero,
- 41:52Speaker 17: that was your national champion. There is no doubt without UCLA,
- 41:58Speaker 17: Georgia Tech is your national champion team. No one looks
- 42:02Speaker 17: as good as them, No one has played as good
- 42:05Speaker 17: in April and May as they are.
- 42:07Speaker 9: That is your national champion.
- 42:11Speaker 2: Don't you have to get to omahat to be vying
- 42:14Speaker 2: for a national championship? Yes, okay, I thought, so. Make
- 42:20Speaker 2: sure they haven't changed things.
- 42:21Speaker 1: You know.
- 42:22Speaker 17: That's you know, you get Oklahoma to hit up a
- 42:26Speaker 17: walk off home run that just gets over the fence.
- 42:30Speaker 9: That's how close you can be, No doubt.
- 42:33Speaker 1: It's crazy.
- 42:33Speaker 9: Seed A and An M.
- 42:35Speaker 17: Save pitching in the first game against USC for the
- 42:38Speaker 17: second game. Therefore, that game was not competitive the first
- 42:42Speaker 17: time they played, after USC got ahead of A and M. Okay,
- 42:46Speaker 17: it's a great game. The other night, Monday night was
- 42:48Speaker 17: a great game. Fresh Corn the first two big hits
- 42:54Speaker 17: against him, he left to pitch up the one for
- 42:57Speaker 17: the three run home run. That guy went and got
- 42:59Speaker 17: a good pitch and drove it over the bullpen out
- 43:03Speaker 17: into you know, on the other side almost got the
- 43:05Speaker 17: railroad track.
- 43:06Speaker 9: It's a great piece of hitting. Tip your hat to
- 43:08Speaker 9: that guy. He did it on a good pitch, so
- 43:12Speaker 9: you know.
- 43:13Speaker 17: But I think this showed that the inconsistency of A
- 43:19Speaker 17: and M pitching is the reason why USC's USC's perceive
- 43:24Speaker 17: weakness was hitting, and they played at a championship level
- 43:29Speaker 17: to advance. A and M's perceive weakness was pitching. They
- 43:33Speaker 17: didn't pitch at a championship level in all the games,
- 43:37Speaker 17: and that's why USC advances.
- 43:39Speaker 1: Okay, real quickly, we have to have a break.
- 43:42Speaker 2: But how much difference would Aiden Sims have made this weekend?
- 43:50Speaker 17: Well, he was on the roster, he was he had
- 43:54Speaker 17: been pitching, and whatever happened the last practice session that
- 43:59Speaker 17: put him out, change this to you.
- 44:03Speaker 9: You got what you ended up with. I don't think
- 44:07Speaker 9: USC advances if Aiden Simms pitches.
- 44:10Speaker 1: That was my question. Yes, it was asked by I.
- 44:14Speaker 17: Don't think that A and M loses to South Carolina
- 44:16Speaker 17: when John Stilson didn't pitch in the College World Series
- 44:20Speaker 17: when A and M had waka and stripling to get
- 44:23Speaker 17: to the College World Series. But they played that first
- 44:26Speaker 17: game with South Carolina and even if you only said
- 44:30Speaker 17: John Stilson your closer when you were an All American
- 44:33Speaker 17: the year before.
- 44:34Speaker 9: I you know you come back close.
- 44:37Speaker 17: And when you get that injury to your key guy,
- 44:41Speaker 17: it's really hard to overcome it.
- 44:43Speaker 2: When it a break, we will come back. Scott Clindented

- 48:59Speaker 4: The letters are too small.
- 49:05Speaker 19: I guess you know what you mean, but it makes
- 49:12Speaker 19: no sense to me at all, because you simply mean you're.
- 49:19Speaker 9: Tired of us, and you're reading me behind.
- 49:30Speaker 11: I can't make any incident. M hmmm, because I can't

- 49:49Speaker 1: Before we leave college Baseball, who do you like to win?
- 49:51Speaker 2: Uh?
- 49:54Speaker 9: Win?
- 49:54Speaker 2: This steak from what you've seen this week in Georgia yeah, yes, okay,
- 49:59Speaker 2: the top seed remaining right, the number three overall seed
- 50:04Speaker 2: with UCLA and Georgia tech out.
- 50:06Speaker 9: Now, if for some reason.
- 50:12Speaker 17: In Omaha the field place bigger than it has the
- 50:16Speaker 17: last couple of years, because there's been a lot more
- 50:19Speaker 17: offense the last four or five.
- 50:20Speaker 9: Years in Omaha, right than when they went to the
- 50:23Speaker 9: new stadium.
- 50:24Speaker 17: Yeah, that could hurt Georgia, but unfortunately, I'm thinking Georgia.
- 50:30Speaker 1: Okay.
- 50:32Speaker 17: By the way, Yeah, six million dollars is what the
- 50:36Speaker 17: Kentucky Wildcats played.
- 50:38Speaker 1: Six million, six million housers crazy.
- 50:43Speaker 17: Yes, and they got him over Louisville, who already had
- 50:48Speaker 17: spent twenty million on a roster.
- 50:51Speaker 9: They got.
- 50:53Speaker 17: Badunga from Kansas, Shelstead, the Oregon Combo guard, Carter Nots
- 51:01Speaker 17: from Arkansas, and then a five star smer A Center.
- 51:04Speaker 9: Okay, so you know that that's probably up the ante
- 51:09Speaker 9: when you went to your Kansas people and said, I
- 51:11Speaker 9: mean Kentucky people.
- 51:12Speaker 1: Yea, hey, look at that roster.
- 51:14Speaker 9: We need a million more. He's going to go play
- 51:16Speaker 9: at Louisville.
- 51:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, wow, that's they've always ponied up.
- 51:20Speaker 9: When he said, but they'll go play at Louisville.
- 51:23Speaker 2: I mean, it's like Monopoly mighty being tossed around, which
- 51:26Speaker 2: is why Nick Saban testified today at Capitol Hill and
- 51:33Speaker 2: ask for this bill to be passed, the Protect College
- 51:38Speaker 2: Sports Act, which would limit athletes to transferring schools one
- 51:43Speaker 2: time without penalty. They haven't said what that penalty may be.
- 51:47Speaker 2: Limiting athletic eligibility to a maximum of five years.
- 51:52Speaker 9: No more richards five to play five. That's going to
- 51:55Speaker 9: pass on.
- 51:57Speaker 11: In UH.
- 52:00Speaker 9: Three on the twenty second.
- 52:02Speaker 1: Why why is that?
- 52:03Speaker 9: Because the NCAA is already gonna change that rule.
- 52:05Speaker 2: Okay, at prohibiting former professional athletes from playing in college
- 52:11Speaker 2: makes sense.
- 52:11Speaker 1: To me, it makes sense.
- 52:14Speaker 2: But of course at prohibiting one more, prohibiting schools from
- 52:18Speaker 2: poaching a coach from another school during the season. It's
- 52:23Speaker 2: called the lame Kiffin rule in the Protect College Sports Act.
- 52:28Speaker 2: Like tattoo U, Saban says, the bill isn't perfect. I'm
- 52:32Speaker 2: sure many many adjustments need to be made, but he
- 52:37Speaker 2: wants that bill passed.
- 52:38Speaker 1: So we'll see.
- 52:38Speaker 9: What is the SEC in the Big Ten?
- 52:40Speaker 11: One?
- 52:40Speaker 1: I don't know, Oh, yes, are they ford or against it?
- 52:44Speaker 9: There?
- 52:45Speaker 1: Getting okay, the the SEC.
- 52:49Speaker 17: And the Big Ten who are at each other's through
- 52:51Speaker 17: tried now, Yes, came out with a dual statement, a
- 52:54Speaker 17: combo statement yesterday.
- 52:55Speaker 1: And what's their reason for being against it?
- 52:58Speaker 2: Let me let me okay, yeah, find that and uh,
- 53:01Speaker 2: while while you're while you're doing that, I have rejoined
- 53:09Speaker 2: the National Football Football Foundation so I can vote for
- 53:15Speaker 2: the Hall of Fame this year. So I've paid my
- 53:18Speaker 2: dues and I will go in and I have to vote.
- 53:21Speaker 2: I think it's before July the first, and I'm just
- 53:26Speaker 2: now looking at all the rules. How many players at
- 53:29Speaker 2: coaches I can vote for. I did it for one reason,
- 53:32Speaker 2: and that's obviously to put coaches. Coach Leech a check
- 53:36Speaker 2: mark by his name this year?
- 53:37Speaker 9: Did you put by Jackie?
- 53:39Speaker 2: Uh? I haven't thought that far ahead. I did it
- 53:42Speaker 2: for that reason, So I haven't thought, you know, there's
- 53:45Speaker 2: a bunch of coaches. There's there's nine coaches on the list. Yes, also,
- 53:50Speaker 2: but coach and Jackie are on because they changed the rule.
- 53:54Speaker 2: They did change the rule in they're both on because
- 53:56Speaker 2: of that. Ray Mickens is on there. He needs to
- 53:59Speaker 2: be in for sure. They graduated ninety five, you can
- 54:04Speaker 2: only be they go fifty years back to nineteen seventy seven.
- 54:10Speaker 17: Okay, so in one year, none of the Longhorns that
- 54:13Speaker 17: were on the team in seventy seven will be eligible.
- 54:16Speaker 1: That is I guess, Yeah, I guess, I guess that's correct.
- 54:22Speaker 17: I should do that for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the seventies,
- 54:26Speaker 17: they're already all in.
- 54:28Speaker 1: Yeah, the Steelers are all all Steeler.
- 54:31Speaker 9: Yeah, that was on the under contract.
- 54:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:36Speaker 2: We don't have time to go over all the names.
- 54:39Speaker 2: And I haven't looked, frankly, through all of them yet,
- 54:44Speaker 2: and I will. I will study them. It will be
- 54:47Speaker 2: a hard choices to make. It's always hard choices to make,
- 54:52Speaker 2: because this is the Hall of well. It's the hall
- 54:55Speaker 2: of fame, not the Hall of good, not the hall
- 54:58Speaker 2: of real good. It's the hall of fame.
- 55:01Speaker 17: So we're going to say, and we're going to say
- 55:04Speaker 17: turning around the program at tech Mississippi State in Washington State.
- 55:08Speaker 1: I think that's pretty good.
- 55:13Speaker 2: All Right, we're going to close this thing out and
- 55:15Speaker 2: then we'll be back dot com business with us. Okay, good,
- 55:18Speaker 2: we'll have that after the top. I want to send
- 55:21Speaker 2: you over to see David Gardner. If you're lucky, Julia
