- 0:32Speaker 1: dirty little secret. What is going on?
- 0:34Speaker 2: This is probably going to sound super weird. I'm actually
- 0:38Speaker 2: pretty embarrassed even admitting it, but I like to smell everything.
- 0:44Speaker 2: And when I say everything, I mean literally everything.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Okay, when you say you smell everything, what does that mean?
- 0:50Speaker 1: I mean, I smell everything too, but.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Yeah, like I have a really good sense of smell.
- 0:54Speaker 1: You do. Like I smell everything. You just got canine
- 0:57Speaker 1: senses or something. Is it something you purposely do? Like
- 1:00Speaker 1: everything you touch, you want to sniff?
- 1:02Speaker 5: Yeah, it's like almost like a reflex.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Like if I pick something up, there's a good chance
- 1:07Speaker 2: I'm probably going to casually sniff it. Most of the
- 1:10Speaker 2: time I've gotten pretty good at it without anyone noticing.
- 1:13Speaker 5: At least I think so.
- 1:14Speaker 2: But there's like certain things that like I love smelling.
- 1:18Speaker 2: So I'll like seek it out. So like old books,
- 1:20Speaker 2: for example, are my number one by far. I love
- 1:23Speaker 2: like the old paper smell, you know?
- 1:25Speaker 1: Yeah, like Barnes and Noble. Wait, old books?
- 1:27Speaker 4: Barnes and Noble smells so good.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah, or go to like the library. The library or
- 1:33Speaker 2: like an old bookstore.
- 1:35Speaker 5: Not even Barnes & Noble.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Go to like Half Price Books and just walk around.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:39Speaker 1: They do have a very distinct smell.
- 1:40Speaker 5: I know, it sounds ridiculous.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Like dusty, musty. Yeah, just like books.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Like book smell. I thought you meant like you just
- 1:46Speaker 4: have a really strong sense, like you can smell everything,
- 1:49Speaker 4: but you mean you physically pick things up and smell them.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Yes, that's weird. Well, it's both.
- 1:53Speaker 2: I mean, different.
- 1:54Speaker 5: It's both.
- 1:56Speaker 1: But you do have a good sense of smell on
- 1:58Speaker 1: top of it. Oh, yeah.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Like I can remember people by their scent, like not
- 2:02Speaker 2: even perfume or cologne. Like, I don't know, pheromones. I
- 2:05Speaker 2: can just smell like, you know, my teacher from fourth grade.
- 2:10Speaker 5: Like I remember.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I'll run into an old scent.
- 2:13Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying?
- 2:14Speaker 1: I kind of do because I do feel like people
- 2:17Speaker 1: have their own smells.
- 2:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Well, here's an example. Do you remember going to someone's
- 2:22Speaker 2: house when you were a kid and then their house
- 2:24Speaker 2: just always had.
- 2:25Speaker 5: That certain smell?
- 2:25Speaker 3: Yes.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Like spaghetti. I had a neighbor.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Their house smelled like spaghetti every time you went.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I do know what you mean.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Yeah. Right.
- 2:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:35Speaker 1: So you can smell people and recognize their scent.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like a thick scent.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Okay, like you know people, you could smell someone and go, oh,
- 2:45Speaker 1: that's Timmy. I know Timmy, he's from down the street.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Like eyes closed?
- 2:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Yeah, like eyes closed?
- 2:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Like one time my older sister came home from college
- 2:54Speaker 2: to surprise me for my birthday. And my parents were
- 2:57Speaker 2: hiding the fact that she was at the house. And
- 2:59Speaker 2: like the second I walked inside, I knew that she
- 3:02Speaker 2: was there. I was like, she's here. I can smell her.
- 3:05Speaker 1: That's kind of fascinating. And she was. Maybe we need
- 3:09Speaker 1: to put you at the airport.
- 3:12Speaker 5: The airport is rough, though.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Sniff for drugs. Oh, so there are some smells you
- 3:17Speaker 1: don't like. Well, obviously, there's some smells you don't like.
- 3:19Speaker 1: What smells don't you like?
- 3:21Speaker 2: Traffic. traffic like if i'm i know it sounds.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Weird traffic has a smell 75 it's miserable like exhaust
- 3:29Speaker 3: and rubber and rubber yeah oil diesel the pollution oh that.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Kind of makes sense yeah now i'm fascinated by this
- 3:38Speaker 1: to the point i have questions i'm.
- 3:40Speaker 4: Like couldn't you can you be trained to smell it
- 3:42Speaker 4: like you know the sniffing dogs like can you be
- 3:44Speaker 4: trained how dare you well no i'm just saying like
- 3:46Speaker 4: not a dog You know.
- 3:47Speaker 1: What I mean? Probably. What's the weirdest thing? Let me
- 3:50Speaker 1: ask you this. What's the weirdest thing you smell when
- 3:52Speaker 1: you're like, this is weird, but I got to smell it?
- 3:55Speaker 5: Silverware. I have to smell silverware before I use it.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Silverware? Silverware for what?
- 4:01Speaker 2: Well, because I have to make sure it's properly clean,
- 4:03Speaker 2: especially if I'm at a friend's house. And if they
- 4:06Speaker 2: don't have a dishwasher, I'm like, okay, did you really
- 4:09Speaker 2: hand wash?
- 4:10Speaker 5: How well did you hand wash this? I have to
- 4:11Speaker 5: smell it.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Now, I can tell the difference when you like drinking
- 4:14Speaker 1: out of a cup at a restaurant and sometimes it
- 4:16Speaker 1: smells funny. You know, you're like, oh, this water is weird.
- 4:19Speaker 4: Yeah, well, certain soaps and stuff leave behind a scent.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:22Speaker 5: It's like not something I enjoy. I need you to
- 4:24Speaker 5: know that.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Like, this is like a tick.
- 4:27Speaker 5: It's like an OCD thing.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Like, if you see someone that you might like, do
- 4:30Speaker 1: you want to smell them?
- 4:34Speaker 4: Like, do you have to ask for permission?
- 4:39Speaker 1: My permission to sniff.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Right.
- 4:41Speaker 2: There are things I do like to smell. Like, I
- 4:44Speaker 2: want to go travel and like smell places, other places
- 4:48Speaker 2: I haven't.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Like what? The Statue of Liberty?
- 4:50Speaker 5: I never thought about that.
- 4:51Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, New York has a smell.
- 4:53Speaker 1: You know New York. Is there a certain city you
- 4:55Speaker 1: want to smell more than others?
- 4:57Speaker 5: Yes, yes.
- 4:58Speaker 2: I want to go to Athens, Greece.
- 5:00Speaker 5: I want to go to Athens, Greece.
- 5:02Speaker 1: I thought you meant Athens, Texas.
- 5:03Speaker 2: The spices, the flowers there.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Really?
- 5:10Speaker 5: And the ocean.
- 5:11Speaker 2: I just want to go and experience all the smells there.
- 5:14Speaker 1: I never thought about that.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Like Hawaii has a smell. You can smell the flowers
- 5:18Speaker 4: and the trees.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Really? Mesquite has a smell.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Oh.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Oak Cliff has a smell, too. Townie smells amazing this time.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Of the year.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Wow. Well, you're making me see life in a different way.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I do appreciate this secret. Hopefully, it doesn't bring you
- 5:35Speaker 1: any kind of weirdness because I don't want you to
- 5:37Speaker 1: think that you're weird. I don't think you're weird. I
- 5:39Speaker 1: just think that people have their things, and this is
- 5:41Speaker 1: your thing.
- 5:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I was blessed with a gift and a curse.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Pooh, come here. Let me sniff you.
- 5:45Speaker 3: No.
- 5:45Speaker 4: Sniff these cookies.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Yeah, give me cookies to sniff. Thank you. Well, hey,
- 5:49Speaker 1: thank you so much. We appreciate you, and good luck
- 5:52Speaker 1: with smelling everything.
- 5:53Speaker 5: Thank you, guys.
- 5:54Speaker 2: I appreciate it.
- 5:55Speaker 5: Thanks for not judging.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Never.
- 5:57Speaker 5: Of course.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Dirty little secret. God, I love it. I love weird
- 6:00Speaker 1: stuff like this.
- 6:01Speaker 4: That's wild.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I do. I mean, I kind of get it, though. Like,
- 6:04Speaker 1: I love the smell. And this is a weird one.
- 6:07Speaker 1: I love the smell of a fresh can of open,
- 6:10Speaker 1: like when you just open the tennis balls. Oh, yeah.
- 6:13Speaker 1: I love it.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:14Speaker 1: That's weird.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:16Speaker 1: And I also hate the smell of a bag of
- 6:18Speaker 1: Cheetos when you first open it. You do?
- 6:20Speaker 2: Oh, what's wrong with that?
- 6:23Speaker 4: Cheetos have a funky smell.
- 6:24Speaker 1: All right, if you never opened a bag.
- 6:26Speaker 4: I love Cheetos.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm eating them two points a month. Are
- 6:28Speaker 1: you serious? I didn't know about Cheetos. I know Fritos do.
- 6:31Speaker 1: You're not a real big bag.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Fritos, for sure.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Fritos smell like some elbows. No, you're not a- Elbows? Yeah,
- 6:37Speaker 1: when you open up a brand new bag of Fritos,
- 6:39Speaker 1: it smells like some dirty elbows. Go to the vending
- 6:41Speaker 1: machine right now. This is a challenge I know you
- 6:43Speaker 1: can do.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Go to the vending machine right now. Get a bag
- 6:47Speaker 1: of Cheetos. Come in here and open them up right
- 6:49Speaker 1: at the beginning when you open up Cheetos. Okay. I've
- 6:52Speaker 1: never noticed. It's going to smell like belly buttons. There's
- 6:56Speaker 1: some Cheetos, I think, behind Candace. Oh, there is?
- 6:58Speaker 2: Is there?
- 6:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:59Speaker 1: That's what stinks. Where? There you go. Dirty little secret.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Where?
- 7:03Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, there are.
- 7:04Speaker 1: That's Pooh's drawer, by the way.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Okay.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Get them right now.
- 7:07Speaker 3: It is. All right.
- 7:08Speaker 2: You ready?
- 7:08Speaker 3: Yes.
- 7:09Speaker 1: And then as soon as you open them, smell it.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Okay. Okay.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I told you!
