- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So let's talk about wisdom. How does one gain wisdom?
- 0:35How does one come up with saying, well, you know, I know
- 0:40that this person, I could go to this person and this person is
- 0:43very wise. They have a great deal of wisdom
- 0:45and I would love to be able to tap into that.
- 0:47Well, how do you define that? Like what makes it so that you
- 0:51feel that person has wisdom? So for instance, if I am going
- 0:55to do baking and I need help with baking, I am going to call
- 0:59my Auntie Annie because she bakes all the time, everything.
- 1:03And I know for a fact that she has massive wisdom in this
- 1:06category. So if I'm going to go, I'm going
- 1:08to go to her. But how do, how do, how do you
- 1:11define that? Is it just like, is she really
- 1:14that person? How do I know that?
- 1:15Like, she's the best Baker? I know, but is she the best
- 1:19person for it? That's a great question, isn't
- 1:21it? Because just because you know
- 1:23somebody and they have a wisdom in an area, is it the wisdom
- 1:27that you're seeking? And that's the point of today's
- 1:30conversation, because sometimes we go to somebody because
- 1:34they're the best that we know, but they're not maybe the best
- 1:38for the job or they don't don't have a depth of knowledge.
- 1:42And a lot of this comes up when you're trying to learn something
- 1:47new. So, for instance, I always knew
- 1:49what I knew about gardening because I grew up with my father
- 1:53and my uncle's gardening, and I learned from what my dad taught
- 1:56me. When we moved down South and I
- 1:59had to start all over again, I recognized that my knowledge
- 2:03base, while it was good, it was not at all in depth and I needed
- 2:08to have other knowledge. And then I recognized that OK, I
- 2:12really need to like have deep knowledge because it is tricky
- 2:15growing in deep heat. And then I realized, OK, I want
- 2:18to grow flowers and I needed a whole different set of
- 2:21knowledge. So I started reading up from,
- 2:24you know, all these different universities here and the
- 2:27colleges here about, you know, how to how to find out what
- 2:31flowers will bloom in this heat, humidity, all kinds of stuff.
- 2:37But again, it's like, OK, you've got to have deep experience.
- 2:41I want someone who does this all the time, all the time, all the
- 2:45time. And I, and this is something
- 2:47that I stress to clients when they have vast knowledge bases,
- 2:52you need to let clients know that you have that.
- 2:55I tell people all the time. I have no shame in telling
- 2:57people that I have over 48,000 hours in coaching and I've been
- 3:01doing it for over 26 years because I worked really hard for
- 3:06that. And that's a vast knowledge
- 3:08base. And I want people to know that
- 3:11so that they understand that that comes with me wherever I
- 3:14go. And I can figure out a lot of
- 3:17things before we they even come to the table.
- 3:20Because I've seen it all before and I've seen things and I know
- 3:23it. So when it comes to something
- 3:26new for yourself, having that wisdom, having the ability to
- 3:30say, OK, I need someone who has more of that than I do.
- 3:33It's just like when I started these flowers.
- 3:35Yes, I went through all of that, but this year I took it to a
- 3:38whole new level. I went and I said, OK, the girl
- 3:40who wrote the Cut Flower Garden, she has a a course.
- 3:43I signed up for her course and everybody was like, well, you
- 3:46don't want to have a business doing a cut flower business.
- 3:49No, I don't. But I want her knowledge base of
- 3:51how she's growing like that and how she's making that work
- 3:54because she's pushing the gamut. She's doing things that are so
- 3:58uniquely different than what other people do spacing wise,
- 4:03How tight she can grow them, how tall she can get them, how she
- 4:08pinches them back, what flowers need to be pinched back to give
- 4:11you more buds. It is just a non-stop fire hose
- 4:18of information about what you can do because that's all this
- 4:21woman does, that's all this woman does and is obsessed with
- 4:25it. Like I was obsessed with it the
- 4:26way I'm obsessed with coaching and I love that.
- 4:29So start to think about your own knowledge base and say, OK, am I
- 4:34that tied to it? What do I want to be that
- 4:38knowledgeable about? What do I want to have that much
- 4:41wisdom on? Where do I want my wisdom to
- 4:43grow? Where do I want to be?
- 4:45Feel like I I am so wise in this area that I know I can bring
- 4:50value to myself and to others with it because that's the next
- 4:55phase in this world about what's going to make people valuable is
- 4:59really, really having that. Because you know, the way we
- 5:04value each other is shifting and changing and you have to find
- 5:09ways to stand out. But when you understand this
- 5:12part of yourself, when you can actually sit there and say that
- 5:16that you know, I know about this piece of myself.
- 5:19I know how my wisdom can affect others and what it can bring to
- 5:23the table. That is a gift beyond all gifts.
- 5:27So go figure that piece out. My friends, I hope you have a
- 5:31blessed day and I'll see you tomorrow.
- 5:33Bye.
