- 0:16Speaker 1: here's not bill handle. Hey, that's me.
- 0:22Speaker 2: I'm not bill handled, and you're not bill handled. And
- 0:26Speaker 2: you're not bill handling, and you're not bill handled. Hey,
- 0:29Speaker 2: we're all not bill handled. And thank the baby Jesus
- 0:34Speaker 2: in his Golden diner. Hey, goodness, I am six forty
- 0:39Speaker 2: live everywhere on the iHeartRadio app. Good morning, it is Thursday.
- 0:45Speaker 2: The firstess is of January. We are now in twenty
- 0:51Speaker 2: twenty six. And if for some ungodly reason you write checks,
- 0:56Speaker 2: it's twenty twenty six. Okay, gonna make that five into
- 1:01Speaker 2: a six.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Easy.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Remember when we had to worry about such things? Oh
- 1:07Speaker 2: so far in the past. Neil Savada in the Morning
- 1:10Speaker 2: Crew with you on this fine New Year's morn.
- 1:15Speaker 1: How's everybody doing. I just heard Heather.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Was listening to her this morning on wake up call.
- 1:20Speaker 2: You got some sleep, You did it right?
- 1:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:23Speaker 3: I tried to go to bed around eight. I was
- 1:25Speaker 3: worried that their mighty fireworks and you know, stuff like that.
- 1:29Speaker 3: But I think the rain kind of held a lot
- 1:31Speaker 3: of the fireworks in your.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Neighborhood, in my neighborhood.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Maybe in your neighborhood, yeah, in your neighborhood, yes, And
- 1:39Speaker 2: there was I could hear them while I lied it
- 1:45Speaker 2: laid lied down in bed. Yeah, it was horrendous. I
- 1:50Speaker 2: brought some audio. Maybe we'll play it later. But it
- 1:53Speaker 2: was beay route. It always is. We're not usually there,
- 1:58Speaker 2: but security care and everything else go off and the
- 2:02Speaker 2: audio is always and they don't go off just by
- 2:05Speaker 2: the audio, they go off by the light in the
- 2:07Speaker 2: sky from the booms.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Oh wow.
- 2:10Speaker 2: There were a couple that I'm confident we're gunfire And
- 2:14Speaker 2: it was an interesting evening.
- 2:16Speaker 1: But what can you do?
- 2:19Speaker 3: I mean, it is La after all, you know, we
- 2:22Speaker 3: like to party no matter.
- 2:23Speaker 2: What, indeed we do, and nobody, nobody wants to follow
- 2:30Speaker 2: the laws, and there's no reason to follow the laws
- 2:36Speaker 2: because there is no enforcement of laws.
- 2:40Speaker 3: I wonder if people were like, it's raining, there's not
- 2:43Speaker 3: going to be any fires because of my fireworks.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Always intense in our area.
- 2:49Speaker 2: And I looked at my wife at some point and said,
- 2:52Speaker 2: you think it's going to be a little less.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Tonight because it's raining. And it started.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Later than normal, like normally before the sun goes down,
- 3:03Speaker 2: you're hearing him. But so it stated. It started a
- 3:07Speaker 2: little later, but holy hell, I mean comical.
- 3:12Speaker 3: It was really that bad.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Comical. Yeah, it was absolutely comical. And some of them
- 3:21Speaker 2: will light up the front yard and then some are
- 3:25Speaker 2: just big booms. And then there was some like I said,
- 3:28Speaker 2: the cadence and the the you know, the clip and
- 3:33Speaker 2: the sound of it. I'm like, that's gunfire. That's gunfire,
- 3:42Speaker 2: Like that's an aka, that's gunfire.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Maybe people were like, you know what, it's the two
- 3:50Speaker 3: hundred and fiftieth anniversary of America. Let's recreate those almost
- 3:55Speaker 3: rolling along.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Yeah, they're stuffing cotton in the cannon's.
- 4:01Speaker 1: I mean literally the.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Boom that some of these makes do sound like cannon fodder.
- 4:08Speaker 1: It is just.
- 4:10Speaker 2: It's just boom. And yeah, it was an interesting evening,
- 4:16Speaker 2: but I did it. Was a good Dad stayed up
- 4:20Speaker 2: till about twelve thirty. My son kept looking at me
- 4:25Speaker 2: like are you gonna make it? But he was very
- 4:29Speaker 2: excited and he put out the spread and it was
- 4:35Speaker 2: quite sweet. Oh, it was so funny because my wife
- 4:38Speaker 2: has been dealing with some planter fasci itis or.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Something, and it's so painful. Oh, my gosh.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Yeah, she's she does not make a peep about anything,
- 4:48Speaker 2: the strongest person I know.
- 4:50Speaker 1: And she's like wow.
- 4:55Speaker 2: So he put together the spread and it was just beautiful.
- 5:01Speaker 2: It looked like a nine year old boy put together
- 5:03Speaker 2: what he thought we should be eating.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Was it like cheetos?
- 5:06Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 5:06Speaker 2: I went, yes, some peanut m and m's Yes, one
- 5:11Speaker 2: Hawaiian roll. It was just it was very sweet. But
- 5:17Speaker 2: we had had for dinner.
- 5:19Speaker 1: We had had typhood and it was very very nice.
- 5:21Speaker 2: But I did stay up and then got up and
- 5:25Speaker 2: I'm here and everybody's here, and we got Heather Brooker
- 5:27Speaker 2: in for Amy King, Kono's here. I never know what
- 5:31Speaker 2: Kno does at night anyways, or if he gets sleep.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Do you ever sleep rarely?
- 5:37Speaker 3: I get a solid three hours a night for sure.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Jeez, it's not bad.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Three hours. Yeah, yeah, I did about four last night.
- 5:47Speaker 2: And I can do that once, maybe twice. If I
- 5:50Speaker 2: do that a third day, nobody will want to talk
- 5:54Speaker 2: to me because I will.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Be a bear.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Maybe, like one time you can do it, but then
- 5:59Speaker 3: it wipes me out, like I can't. I wanted to
- 6:01Speaker 3: have a glass of wine at dinner last night, and
- 6:03Speaker 3: I was like it'll no, you'll go'll wreck my world
- 6:06Speaker 3: because I know I have to be here in the morning,
- 6:08Speaker 3: so I don't know how you do it. Conna, three
- 6:09Speaker 3: hours would kill me.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Yeah, well last night I got four.
- 6:12Speaker 2: So he's freaking bouncing off the walls. It was yeah,
- 6:18Speaker 2: it was one of the I used to do it
- 6:20Speaker 2: all the time. I was known for it here, like
- 6:22Speaker 2: when we did events and stuff like that. When I
- 6:24Speaker 2: oversaw marketing and promotions and stuff. I'm like three, uh
- 6:28Speaker 2: three in the morning, four in the morning. Staying here
- 6:30Speaker 2: not a problem. You just get things done. You do
- 6:33Speaker 2: what you have to do. And now I'm like, I've
- 6:35Speaker 2: you know, I gave you over half my life has
- 6:39Speaker 2: been in this place. Like I'm gonna nap now. Good
- 6:42Speaker 2: for you. It's time to have a night.
- 6:44Speaker 3: You've earned it.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Yeah, or so they say.
- 6:46Speaker 3: We also have Trey Alexander here. He's in for Will.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I heard that. Good morning, Trey, Good morning. How are you?
- 6:54Speaker 1: I am great? Thank you excellent? You get some sleep
- 6:57Speaker 1: I did. I worked a bed around nine o'clock, so
- 6:59Speaker 1: I got a followers. Good. Yeah, wow, we are going
- 7:04Speaker 1: to start a show here.
- 7:05Speaker 2: We got Matthew who is mute, but hello guy, it
- 7:11Speaker 2: just is here to work.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Matt, are you there?
- 7:16Speaker 1: I like being mute now better, but I'm here. I'm here.
- 7:20Speaker 2: He just he's got he's got a job to do.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Matt's the best. Matt the blur we call him because
- 7:26Speaker 2: you can't see him.
- 7:27Speaker 3: He's moving, he's running around, he's printing stuff.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Yeah, getting things done for the shoe. Oh, that's what
- 7:32Speaker 2: we do.
- 7:33Speaker 1: All right. Well, let's get started.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Although I'm going I'm in a super playful mood, so
- 7:40Speaker 2: there's no rules today.
- 7:42Speaker 1: We can do whatever we want.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Don't don't touch that rules, okay, and let's get some
- 7:48Speaker 2: thirty seconds of news party poop. I would have thought
- 7:51Speaker 2: the smallest one is going to be the adult, all right,
- 7:54Speaker 2: So uh, let's do handle on the news lead stars.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Oh gosh, if you have windows or any hole in
- 8:10Speaker 2: the side of your house that you can look out,
- 8:13Speaker 2: you're gonna see some wet stuff coming from the sky.
- 8:17Speaker 2: It's called rain, and it's beautiful. It's all over the
- 8:21Speaker 2: place right now. You know, the stuff that scares me
- 8:24Speaker 2: the most is not those big dumps that it does
- 8:26Speaker 2: every now and again and then it goes.
- 8:28Speaker 1: It's this consistent. Yesterday was consistent.
- 8:33Speaker 2: And that's what we're looking at, this big southern California storm,
- 8:36Speaker 2: heavy rain, potential thunderstorms, high risks of flooding, and of
- 8:40Speaker 2: course we'll probably mention more than once today about the
- 8:45Speaker 2: big parade and the issues that will you know, come
- 8:48Speaker 2: with that today. In response, Governor gave Newsoen he directed.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Newsom said that the California covers Office of Emergency Services
- 8:57Speaker 2: to pre position, rescue personnel and high risk areas, and
- 9:02Speaker 2: he's encouraged Californians.
- 9:04Speaker 1: To wear more hair product. The winds and everything get outrageous,
- 9:10Speaker 1: mess with your qualth.
- 9:12Speaker 3: We don't want that.
- 9:13Speaker 1: No, we want to look good, yeah, handsome. All right,
- 9:17Speaker 1: Let's bust one more? Shall we more?
- 9:19Speaker 3: Bust one more? In a course, all right, This is
- 9:24Speaker 3: a really devastating story over in Switzerland. Forty people were
- 9:28Speaker 3: killed and one hundred hurt after an explosion at a
- 9:34Speaker 3: upscale ski resort in the area of Crans, Montana.
- 9:38Speaker 1: How does that happen?
- 9:39Speaker 3: Well, they're still looking into it. They say it was
- 9:41Speaker 3: not They do not believe it was related to any
- 9:43Speaker 3: sort of terrorism or anything like that. The investigation is
- 9:47Speaker 3: ongoing there, but they say it was an explosion that
- 9:51Speaker 3: started a fire, and it was people partying for New Years,
- 9:55Speaker 3: you know, people getting together at the ski resort for
- 9:58Speaker 3: New Year's so very so story over there.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Yeah, horrible. You've got the Rose Parade. I told you
- 10:05Speaker 2: it's going to be coming up throughout the show. Obviously,
- 10:08Speaker 2: there is a lot of rain in the area and
- 10:11Speaker 2: will be. It looks like it's stopped. It's going to
- 10:13Speaker 2: stop between ten and noon. Ten am and noon. It
- 10:16Speaker 2: seems like it's going to slow down, but not for
- 10:19Speaker 2: that long because we have more rain coming this week.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Isn't that true?
- 10:22Speaker 3: Heather, Yeah, there's it's good. The rain overall is supposed
- 10:26Speaker 3: to last through Saturday, with little intermittent breaks in the rain,
- 10:30Speaker 3: but the full storm was supposed to last through Saturday.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Yeah, so we're going to have off and on rain
- 10:37Speaker 2: and this kind of consistent rain it gets it, you know,
- 10:43Speaker 2: that's what ends up making you know, mud slides and
- 10:46Speaker 2: things like that, so kind of crazy. Also going to
- 10:49Speaker 2: be very soggy for the twenty twenty six Rose Parade,
- 10:54Speaker 2: starting at I believe eight am this morning, that's right,
- 10:57Speaker 2: is the kickoff. So a chance of light Do they
- 11:01Speaker 2: put lightning rods on those things?
- 11:03Speaker 3: I mean, I think so now it's.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Gonna be interesting. If we know there's like some I
- 11:09Speaker 2: don't know the some wild, well we'll be Yeah. The
- 11:13Speaker 2: he man float with the sword in the air and
- 11:18Speaker 2: maybe not a good idea, but we'll see.
- 11:20Speaker 3: I've been watching on KTLA and it doesn't look too
- 11:24Speaker 3: bad out there. I see a bunch of people in
- 11:25Speaker 3: ponchos kind of running around. But there's definitely still there's
- 11:28Speaker 3: people there. There's a lot of activity, so it's happening.
- 11:31Speaker 2: It's not so much that there's people there. I was
- 11:33Speaker 2: surprised by they look happy. Yeah, to be there is
- 11:38Speaker 2: what Well, I love it too. I think it's great.
- 11:40Speaker 2: I'm thrilled that we get such a gem here locally.
- 11:45Speaker 2: But holy hell, love a parade. It's four in the
- 11:49Speaker 2: morning and it's raining, and I'm happy to be here.
- 11:52Speaker 2: And this is my shirt from two thousand and six,
- 11:55Speaker 2: and I'm like, good for you.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Get out there, enjoy that rainy day parade. And it's history.
- 12:00Speaker 3: We're making history of the Rose Paraye there.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Yeah, fifty years, it's been since the last reign.
- 12:05Speaker 3: All right. So in Chicago, President Trump says he's removing
- 12:08Speaker 3: National Guard troops. He's already done that here in Los Angeles.
- 12:13Speaker 3: He's also doing it in Chicago and Portland. He made
- 12:15Speaker 3: the post on truth socials, saying his decision is due
- 12:19Speaker 3: to crime being reduced in those cities, but he says
- 12:22Speaker 3: that troops could return if crime begins. To Oregon. He says,
- 12:28Speaker 3: if it weren't for the federal government stepping in, you know,
- 12:31Speaker 3: there would still be major problems there.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Did you expect anything else?
- 12:37Speaker 3: No, he's going to take credit for sure.
- 12:41Speaker 2: I'd just like to apologize for the last year. And
- 12:47Speaker 2: I've been rough. I've said some things that were hurtful.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Y'all look at each other, going, what is going on?
- 12:54Speaker 3: Who is this?
- 12:55Speaker 1: I've been downright mean, and I feel bad about it.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Well, you know, you said the year has gone by fast.
- 13:01Speaker 3: A lot of it is because of the never ending
- 13:04Speaker 3: news cycle. Baby feels fast for us here, because it
- 13:07Speaker 3: seems like every day there's something huge news story, just
- 13:11Speaker 3: never ending.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think that's feeding the machine a lot
- 13:14Speaker 2: of times. Listen, there's always been big news. You know,
- 13:19Speaker 2: you mind your local business, you mind your local you know, home,
- 13:24Speaker 2: and you take care of stuff. And the fact is,
- 13:27Speaker 2: we get a lot of news that really doesn't pertain
- 13:29Speaker 2: much to us. I'm a big local fan of local news.
- 13:34Speaker 2: What's going on here? Fix our damn roads.
- 13:38Speaker 1: LAFD.
- 13:39Speaker 2: The leadership is still under the microscope, along of course
- 13:45Speaker 2: with Mayor Bass. For the fires specific Palisades has been
- 13:52Speaker 2: when it started, had been burning for like less than
- 13:54Speaker 2: two hours or something, when people were already starting to
- 13:57Speaker 2: pick apart how it was being dealt with. So, you know,
- 14:03Speaker 2: la FD was not the you know, boots on the grounds,
- 14:07Speaker 2: the men and women that are out there fighting the fires,
- 14:09Speaker 2: but higher up as to some of the decisions that
- 14:11Speaker 2: were made. And so as we look at the first
- 14:14Speaker 2: anniversary again the Los Angeles Wildfires one year later is
- 14:18Speaker 2: a special to our special that we'll be doing hosted
- 14:21Speaker 2: by Michael Monks coming up on January seventh at seven pm,
- 14:25Speaker 2: and he'll no doubt dive into this. But first anniversary
- 14:30Speaker 2: a week away, people are still questioning those missteps in
- 14:34Speaker 2: the firefight choices and still a year later unanswered by
- 14:40Speaker 2: the LAFD and.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Mayor Karen Bass.
- 14:43Speaker 2: And she's up for she's running again one in June
- 14:47Speaker 2: or something or.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Yeah, she announced a few weeks ago that she will
- 14:50Speaker 3: be running again, you.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Know, and I don't I'm not saying she's a bad
- 14:55Speaker 2: person or anything. I don't think she's an effective mayor
- 14:58Speaker 2: and she has not done and so and I know, La,
- 15:04Speaker 2: we're just dumb enough to just go, well, what we.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Have's just kind of.
- 15:10Speaker 2: You know, and potholes, do the basics, get the easy ones, right,
- 15:15Speaker 2: you know, fill the potholes, have a good police department,
- 15:18Speaker 2: those types of things.
- 15:20Speaker 3: All right, History was made in New York zoron mom
- 15:23Speaker 3: Donnie became the mayor early this morning. In a small ceremony,
- 15:28Speaker 3: the thirty four year old Democratic Socialist took the oath
- 15:31Speaker 3: of office administered by Attorney General New York Attorney General
- 15:35Speaker 3: Letitia James. He says it was truly the honor and
- 15:39Speaker 3: privilege of a lifetime to be the mayor. He is
- 15:42Speaker 3: New York's youngest mayor in more than one hundred years
- 15:46Speaker 3: and had a lot of ambitious promises to his constituents.
- 15:50Speaker 3: So we will see he.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Delivers free pizza for everybody, Yeah, no one.
- 15:55Speaker 3: It was free bus service, free buses, which will cost
- 15:59Speaker 3: the City of New York eight hundred million dollars a year. Also,
- 16:03Speaker 3: he's going to try to freeze rent increases and on
- 16:05Speaker 3: rent regulated apartments, so a few things he's hoping to
- 16:10Speaker 3: do there in New York.
- 16:11Speaker 1: We'll see, Yes, we will, and he's gonna do it
- 16:14Speaker 1: with your dollars. Good for you, not my dollars. I
- 16:18Speaker 1: will all of our dollars. Dollars, it takes all of
- 16:21Speaker 1: our dollars.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Have you seen the video on this and I heard
- 16:24Speaker 2: Heather talking about this earlier Disney cast member jumps in
- 16:28Speaker 2: the way of what is said to be a four
- 16:30Speaker 2: hundred pound prop boulder. Here as someone who loves and
- 16:36Speaker 2: has made some props for some film and for a
- 16:44Speaker 2: pleasure like making prompts. Once a prop is four hundred pounds,
- 16:48Speaker 2: it's no longer a prop.
- 16:49Speaker 1: That's a boulder.
- 16:50Speaker 3: That's a weapon.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Yeah, that's just a bulk.
- 16:52Speaker 2: If it's a four hundred pound real boulder or a
- 16:54Speaker 2: four hundred pound fake boulder, it's a four hundred pound boulder.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Yeah, that's wild. The video is, it's crazy. If people
- 17:01Speaker 3: have not seen he yet, go and watch it, because
- 17:03Speaker 3: this man literally steps in front of this boulder that
- 17:06Speaker 3: goes off the tracks and is hurtling towards the audience crowd,
- 17:09Speaker 3: and there's nothing between the audience and the boulder except
- 17:12Speaker 3: this man who steps in his cast member and physically
- 17:15Speaker 3: puts his arm up like he's just gonna, like, you know,
- 17:18Speaker 3: knock it over, and it ends up just taking him out.
- 17:21Speaker 1: So this isn't out here.
- 17:22Speaker 2: This is Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida. They have this
- 17:27Speaker 2: thing called I've Never seen I've only seen videos of
- 17:31Speaker 2: the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and it's a live
- 17:34Speaker 2: stunt show, right, But the physics of this watching it,
- 17:40Speaker 2: and apparently this was a cast member who is a
- 17:44Speaker 2: stunt performer themselves. Yeah, so probably had some idea and
- 17:50Speaker 2: put himself in that position anyways, because you can't tell
- 17:55Speaker 2: the physics of what's going on until they meet. So
- 17:58Speaker 2: you go, okay, it's roll at a pretty healthy speed.
- 18:02Speaker 2: He jumps up, puts his body in the way of it,
- 18:05Speaker 2: and then when it meets his body and head, you
- 18:09Speaker 2: can calculate roughly how much this thing went because you're like,
- 18:12Speaker 2: oh wow, yeah, and it supposedly is is blown up too.
- 18:18Speaker 2: It's like a it's filled with air as well as whatever.
- 18:24Speaker 3: And it's still four hundred pounds.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Well it's very large, but you know, I don't know
- 18:31Speaker 2: what's going to come of this. But this is not
- 18:32Speaker 2: the first time I've seen that boulder be a problem
- 18:36Speaker 2: on this stage, because there's other videos before too. But anyways,
- 18:41Speaker 2: kind of crazy. All right, we got one, we got one.
- 18:45Speaker 3: So President Trump has delayed new tariff increases on a
- 18:48Speaker 3: polstered furniture, kitchen cabinets, and vanities for another year. Back
- 18:53Speaker 3: in September, he ordered twenty five percent tariffs on the
- 18:56Speaker 3: kitchen cabinets and a polstered furniture. Those two effect in October.
- 19:00Speaker 3: With the rates they were supposed to rise to fifty
- 19:03Speaker 3: percent and thirty percent by twenty twenty six. However, in
- 19:07Speaker 3: the last few moments last night yesterday, he signed a
- 19:12Speaker 3: proclamation delaying those or postponing those tariff hikes to twenty
- 19:17Speaker 3: twenty seven. He's coming under criticism for failing to stabilize prices,
- 19:22Speaker 3: partly due to tariffs imposed on a variety of goods.
- 19:27Speaker 2: All Right, California is delaying that cancelation. We had heard
- 19:31Speaker 2: about of thousands of commercial drivers' licenses held by migrants,
- 19:36Speaker 2: So this is going to cause, of course, another stir
- 19:39Speaker 2: with Washington. You got seventeen thousand migrant truck drivers whose
- 19:44Speaker 2: licenses had been revoked and now they can keep them
- 19:49Speaker 2: for another sixty days. This is going to enable them
- 19:52Speaker 2: supposedly to retake tests, do whatever's necessary to remain legal.
- 19:58Speaker 2: But now you have US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy reacting
- 20:03Speaker 2: by threatening to cut one hundred and sixty million in
- 20:06Speaker 2: federal funding to California if the state doesn't mean meet
- 20:09Speaker 2: the January fifth deadline to revoke those unvetted foreign tricker licenses.
- 20:16Speaker 2: So we had a couple of those crashes and things
- 20:19Speaker 2: like that that were just absolutely heinous that put this
- 20:23Speaker 2: on the front page.
- 20:24Speaker 1: So we'll see how that plays out.
- 20:27Speaker 2: I hope this isn't one of those things Trump wants
- 20:29Speaker 2: us to do it, So we're just not going to
- 20:31Speaker 2: do it, rather than looking at it saying what's best
- 20:33Speaker 2: not only for the drivers, but the public and everything else.
- 20:37Speaker 3: All Right, Matt Locke, which films in Nashville, it was well,
- 20:46Speaker 3: the live broadcast from Music City has been restored. CBS
- 20:50Speaker 3: face a technical snafu that not the live broadcast of
- 20:54Speaker 3: the New Year's Eve Live Nashville Big Bash off the
- 20:57Speaker 3: air for about twelve minutes.
- 21:00Speaker 1: So they ran an episode.
- 21:01Speaker 3: So they ran an episode of Matt lock. TBS really
- 21:07Speaker 3: knows its audience to be to be fair.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Yeah, let's let's do Let's put on Matt Lock and
- 21:13Speaker 2: everybody's like, oh my god, what are you doing?
- 21:16Speaker 1: Second back and.
- 21:18Speaker 3: This is the one where he solves a crime. When's
- 21:21Speaker 3: a case o? This is a her now Kathy baits.
- 21:26Speaker 3: So anyway, sorry to all the people washing the Nashville
- 21:29Speaker 3: Big Bash live. But if everything's restored.
- 21:33Speaker 1: I passed right past that.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Last night about a quarter two we want we turned
- 21:37Speaker 2: on we were watching Wild Robot and I don't know
- 21:39Speaker 2: if you've seen it.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Yes, that's so good.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Brilliant, gorgeous to look at.
- 21:43Speaker 2: And we're watching that, and then you know, we turned
- 21:48Speaker 2: on Ryan Seacrest for a little bit at the end
- 21:51Speaker 2: there to guys the andy uh hay to do that
- 21:56Speaker 2: with my nine year old son?
- 21:58Speaker 3: You don't think so? I mean not to are they
- 22:01Speaker 3: wildly inappropriate?
- 22:02Speaker 1: Once they get a couple of pops and then I
- 22:04Speaker 1: think it's a little.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Well the clips I saw was of oh god, I
- 22:09Speaker 3: just oh my god, I just bought his name. Help,
- 22:12Speaker 3: thank you, Anderson Cooper reading the uh lyrics to the
- 22:17Speaker 3: Taylor Swift song would, which was about Travis Kelsey. So
- 22:20Speaker 3: you're right, maybe maybe that would have been inappropriate, Yeah,
- 22:24Speaker 3: for a nine year old, because he was he was
- 22:25Speaker 3: a little tipsy and he was laughing so hard he
- 22:28Speaker 3: could not contain himself.
- 22:30Speaker 2: My boy, we were in Palm Springs, staying at a
- 22:35Speaker 2: place out in Palm Springs, as we are wont to
- 22:38Speaker 2: do on occasion, and there was a drunk Latino. And
- 22:46Speaker 2: I say that because even though I'm a halfy, I'm
- 22:50Speaker 2: a proud Latino, and sometimes Latinos they're not always sure
- 22:55Speaker 2: if I am. They see me with my wife, my boy,
- 22:59Speaker 2: they assume I am, and they start talking to me
- 23:02Speaker 2: in certain ways about anyways, about certain things in the
- 23:09Speaker 2: Latino community. But he was, you know, asking me where
- 23:14Speaker 2: I was from and things. And I had to explain
- 23:17Speaker 2: to my sons the first time I ever saw anybody drunk.
- 23:19Speaker 2: He's like, what was wrong with that guy?
- 23:21Speaker 1: Daddy?
- 23:22Speaker 2: And I'm like, that's mister Kono and he.
- 23:30Speaker 1: No.
- 23:30Speaker 2: But I so my son reacts to people that are
- 23:34Speaker 2: acting weird, like are they drunk?
- 23:36Speaker 1: You know?
- 23:37Speaker 2: He doesn't see mommy and daddy, you know, plastered or drinking.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Really he doesn't. So anyway, so I try and stay
- 23:45Speaker 2: away from any of that that I'm going to have
- 23:46Speaker 2: to explain to him. Yeah, that's somebody who can't hold
- 23:49Speaker 2: their liquor. Son, there you go, called Anderson.
- 23:52Speaker 3: Cooper or both of them got a little I don't.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I can't tell them apart, I'll be honest. One's the
- 24:00Speaker 1: slightly louder. That's me. Yeah, like the gray white hair.
- 24:09Speaker 1: They both good looking.
- 24:10Speaker 3: They both have similar vibes, that's for sure.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Type shirts.
- 24:15Speaker 3: I like Anderson Cooper. I just like them both. Like,
- 24:18Speaker 3: it's just I don't like and I mean, hey, that's
- 24:21Speaker 3: my opinion. I'm throwing it out there. I know I
- 24:23Speaker 3: said I wouldn't, but I'm not a fan of Andy Wow.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Hot takes sixty one.
- 24:30Speaker 2: U Justice Department is reviewing five point two million pages
- 24:35Speaker 2: of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Uh what are we doing so many files?
- 24:42Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 24:42Speaker 1: I mean I trust me.
- 24:45Speaker 2: If you put them out in a digital form where
- 24:49Speaker 2: the public can get at them, they will be sifted through.
- 24:54Speaker 1: You're never You're not going to get a better sifting.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Than the America.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Yeah, they will sift the them.
- 25:00Speaker 2: And they will find every little nook and cranny, h
- 25:03Speaker 2: and any insights that need to be found. But much
- 25:08Speaker 2: the number is way higher than was previously known.
- 25:12Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it's insane.
- 25:14Speaker 2: So they're seeking to enlist roughly four hundred employees just
- 25:19Speaker 2: an effort to go through this stuff. And uh, this
- 25:23Speaker 2: is expected to run from you know, starting on Monday
- 25:27Speaker 2: to January twentieth, and it's just going to be, you know, massive.
- 25:32Speaker 2: But I think that the public, American public, has been.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Very clear that we want these out.
- 25:39Speaker 2: We want to see them, we want to know, especially
- 25:41Speaker 2: if there's very important people in there, people that are
- 25:44Speaker 2: making decisions for the American people.
- 25:47Speaker 1: We want to know who these folks are.
- 25:49Speaker 2: And uh, if they were just rich people that have
- 25:52Speaker 2: been invited there, or if they were you know, because
- 25:56Speaker 2: whether Trump did any petaph phelya or not, I don't know.
- 26:02Speaker 2: I know everybody wants to jump on it in hopes
- 26:04Speaker 2: of but I will tell you this, he had to
- 26:08Speaker 2: have known. He had to have known. And the one
- 26:13Speaker 2: thing that raises an eyebrow to me is, and I've
- 26:17Speaker 2: said this to handle, if I was the Biden administration
- 26:22Speaker 2: and I had those documents he did and they knew
- 26:26Speaker 2: Trump was in there and they didn't put it out,
- 26:27Speaker 2: that's weird to me. That would have been easy pasy
- 26:31Speaker 2: to put that stuff out when he was running and
- 26:36Speaker 2: just squashed it if they had that kind of evidence.
- 26:40Speaker 2: So this is all logic. I'm sorry. I would jump
- 26:43Speaker 2: on the emotion train with everybody, but I'm just not
- 26:45Speaker 2: who I am.
- 26:46Speaker 1: And then the other thing is.
- 26:51Speaker 2: There is there was something that Epstein said, I think
- 26:57Speaker 2: in an email or something that said something along the
- 26:59Speaker 2: lines of this dog still still won't bark or something. Yeah,
- 27:03Speaker 2: And that impression to me was like he was gathering
- 27:07Speaker 2: information on anybody who did in power to have that,
- 27:11Speaker 2: and that he still wasn't able to get it on Trump.
- 27:14Speaker 2: That's the way I read it. That could be hopeful
- 27:16Speaker 2: or wishful thinking. Not that I'm trying to protect the man,
- 27:20Speaker 2: but it would be a whole hell of a mess. Now,
- 27:24Speaker 2: if you told me Clinton I wouldn't bet on go Yeah,
- 27:28Speaker 2: that's I bet you he would.
- 27:31Speaker 1: That's just me. I guess I have no evidence of that,
- 27:35Speaker 1: but he You know.
- 27:42Speaker 3: So Sprinkles, you guys remember Sprinkles cupcakes. They were so popular, yes,
- 27:47Speaker 3: super trendy. Everyone's taking pictures of it. There was a
- 27:50Speaker 3: Sprinkle's vending machine in the Americana and well apparently they
- 27:57Speaker 3: suddenly are closed and shutting down. Candice Nelson. She was
- 28:02Speaker 3: the founder of Sprinkle's Cupcake, but years ago sold the
- 28:05Speaker 3: company to a private equity confirm who I guess just
- 28:09Speaker 3: told employees yesterday that the stores and everything would be
- 28:12Speaker 3: shutting down suddenly. And she made the post on I
- 28:16Speaker 3: saw her video on TikTok where she was talking about it,
- 28:18Speaker 3: and it was really hard for her to see something
- 28:21Speaker 3: she had built to be closed suddenly. And I guess
- 28:24Speaker 3: she thought it would her cupcakes would live on forever.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Well, you know, not when you sell them to Yeah,
- 28:31Speaker 2: you know it just something like that is built upon
- 28:34Speaker 2: the passion, and that's why you know, Ben and Jerry
- 28:37Speaker 2: had stayed until more recently, had stayed very connected to
- 28:42Speaker 2: the product.
- 28:43Speaker 1: And once you sell it, you just never know.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Yeah, nobody will care about your business and your creativity
- 28:51Speaker 3: and your ideas more than you do, because once you
- 28:56Speaker 3: pass it off to somebody else, their goal is money.
- 28:58Speaker 3: Their goal is not to up hold your vision and
- 29:02Speaker 3: your values that you created with your company and your ideas.
- 29:06Speaker 2: I remember being a young kid trying to buy my
- 29:09Speaker 2: first drum set and looking at you stuff, and some
- 29:12Speaker 2: guy's gonna sell me a drum set, and he's like,
- 29:16Speaker 2: is this much money. I go, that seems how he goes,
- 29:18Speaker 2: it's got a lot of sentimental value. I go, not
- 29:21Speaker 2: to me, Yeah for who? Yeah, So it all depends
- 29:23Speaker 2: on your perspective. These people come in, they buy it,
- 29:26Speaker 2: they see it different. And that's sad because that is
- 29:31Speaker 2: a huge American success story that grew and grew and
- 29:35Speaker 2: grew in.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Southern California too, which is really special and.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Completely out the door now and nobody knows what's going on.
- 29:42Speaker 3: That happens a lot with private equity though, just what
- 29:44Speaker 3: they do.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Yeah, they're just squeezing it for everything they can, and
- 29:48Speaker 2: it sucks.
- 29:48Speaker 1: It always is a bummer.
- 29:50Speaker 2: So we all celebrated Christmas, well not all of us,
- 29:53Speaker 2: but many of us celebrated Christmas. If you went the
- 29:58Speaker 2: route of a natural tree, which I used to love.
- 30:03Speaker 2: My son has never known one because we have the
- 30:05Speaker 2: artificial one now. But if you've got that, you've got
- 30:08Speaker 2: that live tree sitting at home, you can drag it
- 30:14Speaker 2: down the stairs and all of that, but there's a
- 30:17Speaker 2: deadline coming up if you want to get rid of
- 30:19Speaker 2: that Christmas tree the responsible way. So most cities and
- 30:22Speaker 2: counties offer some form of free curb side pickup or
- 30:26Speaker 2: drop off or any of that stuff. But it's only
- 30:28Speaker 2: for a limited times, so keep that in mind. Cut
- 30:32Speaker 2: your tree into pieces, place them inside your green compost
- 30:36Speaker 2: bin is one way. If it's too big or you
- 30:39Speaker 2: can't cut it your place it the curb next to
- 30:40Speaker 2: your green big bin on trash day if it's larger
- 30:44Speaker 2: than six feet tall, schedule a bulky item pick up
- 30:49Speaker 2: through my LA three to one one.
- 30:52Speaker 1: That's a great service.
- 30:53Speaker 2: By the way, this is one of the things I
- 30:55Speaker 2: will tell you when I love something, and this is
- 30:57Speaker 2: a great service. When you have palettes or big things
- 31:02Speaker 2: that you need to get rid of, go my LA
- 31:05Speaker 2: three one one. They'll come grab it for you, set
- 31:08Speaker 2: a time for you to bring it out. And if
- 31:10Speaker 2: you're in an apartment or condo or something like that,
- 31:12Speaker 2: you just place your tree on the curb on your
- 31:15Speaker 2: neighbor's trash day.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Well that seems odd.
- 31:18Speaker 3: On your neighborhood's trash day.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Oh that makes way more sense. I'm like, what, and
- 31:24Speaker 1: then just kind of run out.
- 31:27Speaker 3: But also, wouldn't your neighbor's trash day be the same
- 31:29Speaker 3: as your trash day?
- 31:30Speaker 2: Yeah, but I thought it was implying like, hey, put
- 31:32Speaker 2: it in front of their house.
- 31:33Speaker 1: You've got a condo, you don't got this kind of
- 31:35Speaker 1: you don't have a front yard.
- 31:37Speaker 2: You know.
- 31:37Speaker 3: Whenever we have a lot of like extra trash, my
- 31:40Speaker 3: husband and I we make a run for it to
- 31:42Speaker 3: the near This is terrible. I shouldn't have amit this,
- 31:44Speaker 3: but the nearby apartment complexes because they have big dumpsters
- 31:47Speaker 3: and we'll put some extra stuff in there. Because our
- 31:50Speaker 3: trash can sometimes don't hold all of.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Our trash, so order another one.
- 31:54Speaker 3: You can order another trash can, yeah, and they'll pick
- 31:57Speaker 3: up both. Because our trash guy, I feel like doesn't
- 31:59Speaker 3: like us. Sometimes he skips our house.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Well, yeah, because you guys are untrustworthy because we're so
- 32:05Speaker 2: those are the.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Ones who go over to go over to the other
- 32:07Speaker 3: trash can.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Yeah, and my cousin he does their trash and now
- 32:10Speaker 2: he's got to take all that stuff. Now it's I
- 32:13Speaker 2: don't know, you could get too trash ben Yeah, you
- 32:16Speaker 2: have to rent them or what you pay whatever you
- 32:18Speaker 2: pay for the trail extra we have uh yeah, we
- 32:22Speaker 2: have two of trash bends and then we have the
- 32:25Speaker 2: recycle and the Yeah. Because I have a shop and
- 32:27Speaker 2: I have debris.
- 32:29Speaker 3: I'm gonna do that because we have, we end up
- 32:31Speaker 3: having so much trash. Is I'm not a I don't
- 32:34Speaker 3: keep a lot of stuff, Like if I'm done with something,
- 32:36Speaker 3: I throw it away where you know, I don't. I
- 32:38Speaker 3: don't do that, and so we end up just having
- 32:40Speaker 3: like a lot of trash every week. Hot tips here
- 32:45Speaker 3: on handle on the news.
- 32:46Speaker 1: That's what we're trying to do, all right.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Uh So, some interesting things happening over in Saudi Arabia.
- 32:54Speaker 3: They are quietly permitting some residents to buy alcohol, and
- 32:58Speaker 3: this breaks with a long standing taboo. As the Islamic
- 33:02Speaker 3: kingdom looks to expand its tourism sector. They're hoping to
- 33:05Speaker 3: attract high earning expats and modernize their conservative image. They
- 33:11Speaker 3: also this is a follows a few steps that Crown
- 33:15Speaker 3: Prince Mohammed ben Salmon has done. He is lifted, he
- 33:20Speaker 3: has lifted the band on women driving, allowed cinema and
- 33:23Speaker 3: music festivals, and he's hoping to rain he's trying to
- 33:27Speaker 3: rein in the country's morality police. So they're really trying
- 33:31Speaker 3: to modernize it. In one of the steps, we're doing that.
- 33:33Speaker 3: And now listen, it's not going to be for everybody.
- 33:36Speaker 3: It is just going to be for people with premium
- 33:40Speaker 3: residency status, they're going to be allowed to buy beer,
- 33:44Speaker 3: wine and spirits in the stores. And this is where
- 33:47Speaker 3: they recently had that comedy festival as well that was
- 33:50Speaker 3: still controversial, where all the comedians went over there and
- 33:52Speaker 3: took huge paychecks to perform.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Have you ever been to a dry state?
- 33:58Speaker 3: Yeah, Oklahoma was a dry when I was growing up.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Yeah, it's interesting, not the whole, but on Sundays.
- 34:04Speaker 2: On Sundays, yeah, you can't get anything.
- 34:06Speaker 1: It's weird.
- 34:07Speaker 2: I wonder what I've been to Muslim countries. I've stayed
- 34:11Speaker 2: in Muslim countries before. It's funny. I was driving with
- 34:16Speaker 2: a tour guide in Jordan and I'm like, what is
- 34:21Speaker 2: that building down there? And he goes, it's like a
- 34:26Speaker 2: club for men. And I said, what kind of club
- 34:29Speaker 2: for men? Because that looks like a like a strip joint. Yes, yes,
- 34:37Speaker 2: And I said, why do you it's a Muslim country,
- 34:40Speaker 2: why do you have a strip goes, well, you know,
- 34:42Speaker 2: we have tourism and and I said, so that's twenty
- 34:45Speaker 2: four to seven for tourists.
- 34:47Speaker 1: He goes, no, come on, Bobby in a.
- 34:53Speaker 2: Yeah, you guys are going right, So it's not just
- 35:00Speaker 2: for the tourists anyways, all right, California is expanding its
- 35:04Speaker 2: low cost divorce to more couples, particularly those with kids.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Simple divorces aren't that expensive. It must be when you
- 35:15Speaker 2: get into complicated parts of it. But this will allow
- 35:20Speaker 2: to you know, more couples who choose to amicably call
- 35:25Speaker 2: it quit success this low cost of force option. But
- 35:28Speaker 2: if you if it's amicable, it shouldn't be expensive at all.
- 35:36Speaker 2: I mean literally, didn't they have like we the people
- 35:39Speaker 2: or these these places legal Zoom or whatever used to
- 35:43Speaker 2: be around that you could just go and get the
- 35:45Speaker 2: paperwork done and you sign it and.
- 35:47Speaker 3: Off the paper and fill it out and then get
- 35:49Speaker 3: it notarized kind of a thing.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Yeah, there's no reason to make it, drag it out
- 35:53Speaker 2: or make it expensive.
- 35:54Speaker 3: Now it's just four hundred bucks for a divorce. So
- 35:59Speaker 3: we even kind of hellowing this over the past few
- 36:01Speaker 3: months the Kennedy Center, a lot of people dropping out
- 36:04Speaker 3: of performing in the Kennedy Center. Well, now they were
- 36:07Speaker 3: getting a look at the ratings for the twenty twenty
- 36:10Speaker 3: five Honors, which were hosted by President Trump. They showed
- 36:14Speaker 3: the all time low in viewership. And the White House
- 36:21Speaker 3: is defending the Kennedy Center rather is defending that, saying
- 36:24Speaker 3: comparing this year's broadcast writings to prior years is a
- 36:27Speaker 3: classic apples to oranges comparison and an evidence of far
- 36:32Speaker 3: left bias.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Wouldn't that be like literally apples to apples?
- 36:38Speaker 2: Literally, you give more apples to apples than Hey, this event,
- 36:43Speaker 2: how to do last year?
- 36:46Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 36:47Speaker 1: All right?
- 36:48Speaker 2: And finally us finds Ukraine did not try to kill
- 36:52Speaker 2: Putin in this alleged drone strike. You remember we heard
- 36:57Speaker 2: we talked about this earlier in the week that Putin
- 37:00Speaker 2: was saying one hundred drones were.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Sent to his house.
- 37:05Speaker 2: And this was when they were coming to or starting
- 37:10Speaker 2: at least, to look down the possibilities of peace. And
- 37:13Speaker 2: I joked about it. Then, why does this always happen
- 37:16Speaker 2: right before peace? You know, some sort of big thing's
- 37:21Speaker 2: going to happen. The bad guys are always going to say, look,
- 37:24Speaker 2: they did it, we got seat. Now we got to
- 37:26Speaker 2: keep it going. Sorry, we totally wanted peace, but they
- 37:30Speaker 2: tried to bomb me at home. Yeah, so that's going
- 37:34Speaker 2: bye bye. We'll see. But it seems that Putin, strangely enough,
- 37:38Speaker 2: might have been lying. Yeah, all right, Neil s Vader
