- 0:00Speaker 1: Now more Marximone on seven ten R.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Well, we're looking for Liz Peak.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Hey.
- 0:08Speaker 2: By the way, a lot of people have asked about
- 0:10Speaker 2: Michael Goodwin. You know, he's been under the weather for
- 0:12Speaker 2: a while, but I spoke to him late last week.
- 0:15Speaker 2: He's feeling much better and should be back with us
- 0:17Speaker 2: on the show probably next week. Well, we'll hope next week.
- 0:20Speaker 2: He'll let us know when he's ready to come back.
- 0:22Speaker 2: It's taking some time off to but we'll have Michael
- 0:25Speaker 2: Goodwin back on the show soon. So that's been tough
- 0:30Speaker 2: on Democrats. You know, first they Maduro, they all had
- 0:34Speaker 2: to go out and buy Venezuela flags. They already had
- 0:38Speaker 2: their Ukrainian flags. This is it's just tough on them.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Now they got to all run around buying Iranian flags
- 0:45Speaker 2: and it's not easy on them. And everybody is stunned
- 0:49Speaker 2: at some of the Democrats in their reaction. Adam Schiff
- 0:53Speaker 2: on the Sunday Shows when asked should we have taken
- 0:55Speaker 2: out Komani said no, a very harsh reaction. But anyway,
- 1:03Speaker 2: we'll get back to that. Well, we got Liz Peak,
- 1:05Speaker 2: oh right, b the brilliant columnist list Peak of course,
- 1:08Speaker 2: you see her all over television, and you should check
- 1:10Speaker 2: out her site, your website lizpeak dot com if you
- 1:14Speaker 2: want great news and analysis and sign up there because
- 1:18Speaker 2: you'll get the daily briefing. It's really good stuff. Go
- 1:21Speaker 2: to lizpeak dot com, lizpeak dot com, Lizpeak. How you doing.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I'm terrific. Thanks for having me on.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Hey, great to have you. You know, if you watch
- 1:30Speaker 2: all the foreign television Europe, everywhere, there just celebrating the
- 1:35Speaker 2: liberation of Iran, the death of Colmany. But if you
- 1:38Speaker 2: put on American television, you get the opposite of what
- 1:42Speaker 2: is going on here.
- 1:44Speaker 3: You know. I've been thinking about this, Mark and I
- 1:46Speaker 3: think party partly, the wing of the Democratic Party that
- 1:52Speaker 3: has exposed exposed itself as being somewhat anti Semitic, is
- 1:56Speaker 3: sort of taking it one step further.
- 1:58Speaker 1: The fact that the United States partnered.
- 2:01Speaker 3: With Israel is viewed as an offensive thing that we've done,
- 2:06Speaker 3: and the fact that we attacked a Muslim nation, you know,
- 2:10Speaker 3: just sort of doubles down on that. I guess it's
- 2:13Speaker 3: hard to figure. I mean, I think, look, Trumps arrangement
- 2:17Speaker 3: syndrome is alive and well and it isn't going anywhere.
- 2:23Speaker 3: And the fact that this president did this, of course
- 2:26Speaker 3: makes it almost immediately a knee jerk negative.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Reaction from Democrats.
- 2:31Speaker 3: But you also see that to some degree on the
- 2:35Speaker 3: far right as well, with Candice Owens and Tucker Carlson
- 2:38Speaker 3: and these people condemning this action in part because again
- 2:42Speaker 3: of our ties to Israel. I mean, it's really it's
- 2:46Speaker 3: pretty horrifying. And I love these Democrats who are saying
- 2:50Speaker 3: it's an I legal war.
- 2:51Speaker 1: They have no plan.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Do you think that the Trump administration gave a lot
- 2:55Speaker 3: of thought to sharing their plans with the likes of
- 2:59Speaker 3: Chris Murphy or Elon Omar No, I don't think so.
- 3:03Speaker 3: I mean so, I think there's a lot to be
- 3:05Speaker 3: said here. I must say, I don't know if you
- 3:07Speaker 3: saw Pete Hegseat this morning at his breast conference and
- 3:11Speaker 3: then also the general in charge of I think Sentcom.
- 3:16Speaker 3: I thought they just did a fabulous job of laying
- 3:18Speaker 3: out not just the rationale, but kind of what was
- 3:21Speaker 3: going on.
- 3:22Speaker 1: I was on Maria Barbaromo's show this morning.
- 3:24Speaker 3: We had Jack Keenan who said, look, you know, in
- 3:28Speaker 3: forty eight hours the missiles coming out of Iran have
- 3:31Speaker 3: been knocked down to fifty percent of the volume that
- 3:35Speaker 3: they were. The navy has been crushed, not eliminated, but
- 3:39Speaker 3: certainly very badly hurt. There has just been an enormous
- 3:44Speaker 3: amount going on. And the Iranians amazingly thought that they
- 3:49Speaker 3: could attack the Gulf Arab nations with impunity, and what
- 3:54Speaker 3: they've done is now solidify the entire region in opposition
- 3:59Speaker 3: to them. It's a pretty fascinating.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Thing to do.
- 4:02Speaker 3: I think it's unbelievably gutsy of this president because guess what,
- 4:06Speaker 3: Politically this is really dicey. When oil prices are up
- 4:10Speaker 3: almost thirty percent from the beginning of the year, that
- 4:13Speaker 3: is a high cost to Americans and it's going to
- 4:16Speaker 3: be a high political cost to Republicans and to this president.
- 4:20Speaker 3: But you just have to say, I give them enormous
- 4:24Speaker 3: credit for taking the war to where it should be
- 4:29Speaker 3: in the Middle East, which is Iran. And we've been
- 4:32Speaker 3: dancing around this for decades, allowing these truly truly evil
- 4:38Speaker 3: people who not just slaughter their own citizens happily, but
- 4:43Speaker 3: also obviously have attacked Americans repeatedly over the years. We
- 4:48Speaker 3: have finally taken it to them, and I think that's great.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I guess you could you could fairly
- 4:54Speaker 2: say that the Ayatola was the closest thing to Hitler
- 4:56Speaker 2: on Earth today, killing his own people, and a month
- 5:02Speaker 2: recently wanting to wipe out Israel and the Jews, just horrible, horrible,
- 5:07Speaker 2: the main sponsor of terrorism in the world. And then
- 5:10Speaker 2: explain to us the obituaries that we're you're right about
- 5:13Speaker 2: this at lispeak dot com, the obituas in the New
- 5:15Speaker 2: York Times, in Washington Post.
- 5:18Speaker 1: It's staggering.
- 5:19Speaker 3: You know, how Kamanie really had poetry in his heart.
- 5:23Speaker 3: And you know, I mean, the concept that this fellow
- 5:27Speaker 3: was anything but an evil tyrant is so offensive. Mark,
- 5:32Speaker 3: I don't know, you know, every now and then you
- 5:35Speaker 3: just kind of think, well, these people have just lost
- 5:38Speaker 3: their minds, and I think a little bit that's the case.
- 5:41Speaker 3: I just cannot imagine a reporter sitting down to write
- 5:44Speaker 3: an oh bit about one of the most hated people
- 5:47Speaker 3: on the face of the earth. I mean, it really
- 5:50Speaker 3: would be writing an obituary about Hitler and saying, well, gosh,
- 5:54Speaker 3: he had a lovely place in.
- 5:55Speaker 1: The mountains, you know. Yeah, it would be like saying stupidity.
- 5:58Speaker 2: It would be like saying selling author and pain killed.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, you know, yeah, exactly, he penned mind
- 6:09Speaker 3: comp and oh my goodness, wasn't that a work of genius. Yes,
- 6:14Speaker 3: I don't know what's wrong with these people, I really don't.
- 6:17Speaker 3: It seems to me this is a moment truly of
- 6:21Speaker 3: moral clarity.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Iran was a great nation.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Educated people, freedom for women, all the rest of these things,
- 6:30Speaker 3: and it became a murderous theocracy that constantly funded and.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Supported terrorism in the Middle East.
- 6:39Speaker 3: And that's why, by the way, Saudi Arabia and the
- 6:43Speaker 3: UAE and elsewhere have joined pretty happily, I would say,
- 6:48Speaker 3: the United States in fighting Iran. I mean, this is
- 6:52Speaker 3: not an easy thing for them. They have undoubtedly residents
- 6:57Speaker 3: in their own countries who were in league with the
- 7:01Speaker 3: Shia Muslim world there. It's going to be a very
- 7:05Speaker 3: divisive thing in some of these Arab countries. But the
- 7:08Speaker 3: answer is, you know, enough's enough, and they know perfectly
- 7:13Speaker 3: well that these are these are bad guys. So, I mean,
- 7:16Speaker 3: it's hard to imagine with Israel the United States, the
- 7:20Speaker 3: combined military and intelligence capabilities of those two countries and
- 7:24Speaker 3: now Jordan, Saudi.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Arabia, et cetera.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Some of those countries have pretty sizable militaries. I cannot
- 7:31Speaker 3: imagine this goes on terribly long.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Yeah, so as soon as they started, Iran started bombing
- 7:37Speaker 2: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait. They hit all the neighboring countries. Well
- 7:41Speaker 2: it wasn't that a big miscalculation. It brought all those
- 7:43Speaker 2: countries on board with US immediately.
- 7:45Speaker 1: What were they do?
- 7:46Speaker 2: So what were they thinking?
- 7:49Speaker 1: I think they must have been thinking.
- 7:51Speaker 3: You know, actually you probably saw they came out with
- 7:54Speaker 3: the thing thing.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Well, that was not intentional. It was a rogue military operation. Yeah.
- 7:59Speaker 3: I don't think there's a lot of rogue military groups
- 8:02Speaker 3: with their hands on missiles in Iran, but you know,
- 8:05Speaker 3: I could be wrong, but yes, I think they were
- 8:10Speaker 3: assuming that the Arab countries, which have let's face it,
- 8:14Speaker 3: enabled and turned their attentions away from Iran for a
- 8:19Speaker 3: very long time, and let this go on, Let Hesbela
- 8:24Speaker 3: carry out terrorist attack from Lebanon. Let you know, Saudis
- 8:28Speaker 3: aren't exactly keen on the hooties, but let's face this
- 8:30Speaker 3: little dingback group, the hoodies had been allowed to run riot.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Around Saudi Arabia in the Gulf, et cetera.
- 8:41Speaker 3: And you know, I think the Iranians just miscalculated.
- 8:45Speaker 1: They've just didn't see that. They were just ready to
- 8:48Speaker 1: say enough.
- 8:49Speaker 3: And by the way, they may not have understood that
- 8:52Speaker 3: President Trump and Muhammed Bin Salomon, the de facto head
- 8:56Speaker 3: of Saudi Arabia, have been partners, have been working on
- 9:01Speaker 3: a workable partnership for a long time since his first term.
- 9:05Speaker 1: And that's one of the reasons.
- 9:06Speaker 3: I mean, that's one of the reasons that Joe Biden
- 9:09Speaker 3: went after MBS so aggressively and was insulting to him.
- 9:13Speaker 3: He couldn't stand the fact that Trump had actually worked
- 9:15Speaker 3: with the guy. Well, that didn't turn out too well
- 9:18Speaker 3: because when Biden wanted more oil out of Saudi Arabia,
- 9:21Speaker 3: NBS said, no, thanks, we don't think we're going to
- 9:24Speaker 3: help you out. So, I mean, I think the Biden
- 9:28Speaker 3: and Obama whitehouses were so incredibly instinctively wrong about everything
- 9:35Speaker 3: that they should do in the Middle East, and Trump,
- 9:37Speaker 3: you gotta say, has kind of got it right.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, Liz Peak brilliant as always. Everybody go to
