- 0:19SPEAKER_03: I was funny just like that, like a comedian, a proper comedian.
- 0:23unknown: This is brutal.
- 0:25SPEAKER_03: So there's a price on this arsehole kissing.
- 0:29SPEAKER_03: And the dark to the light.
- 0:30SPEAKER_03: Whether it was it was just a or whether you had to rim it.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, that's so fast.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: I'm so funny.
- 0:42SPEAKER_03: There's no way.
- 0:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 0:45SPEAKER_03: Are you a deviant?

- 1:31SPEAKER_03: We're about to start recording.
- 1:33SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:36SPEAKER_03: I've only got to do the thing up a table.
- 1:37SPEAKER_03: I'll have that instead.
- 1:40SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 1:42SPEAKER_03: Ready?
- 1:42SPEAKER_02: Time was against us, wasn't it?
- 1:44SPEAKER_03: Time's against us, yeah.
- 1:45SPEAKER_03: Right, let's do this thing.
- 1:46SPEAKER_02: Let's do it.
- 1:47SPEAKER_02: Come on.
- 1:48SPEAKER_03: Hello and welcome to episode 142 of the Pathered Cell Podcast.
- 1:53SPEAKER_03: And today I'm here with our Andy.
- 1:55SPEAKER_03: Hello.
- 1:56SPEAKER_03: How are you doing, Pattered Cell ads?
- 1:58SPEAKER_03: Hang on, I'm just gonna turn you around.
- 2:00SPEAKER_03: Woo-hoo! In your cycling garb, because you've cycled over again.
- 2:09SPEAKER_03: What should you say?
- 2:10SPEAKER_03: Aparel.
- 2:10SPEAKER_03: Apparel.
- 2:11SPEAKER_02: It's like a poshway for club, isn't it?
- 2:13SPEAKER_03: Apparel.
- 2:14SPEAKER_02: Apparel?
- 2:14SPEAKER_02: Alright, then you're not sure.
- 2:15SPEAKER_03: Apparel.
- 2:16SPEAKER_02: Aparel sounds better.
- 2:17SPEAKER_03: Aparel.
- 2:19SPEAKER_02: Sounds better.
- 2:20SPEAKER_03: That's the scous version.
- 2:21SPEAKER_03: And Zoo's version.
- 2:22SPEAKER_02: My version anyway.
- 2:24SPEAKER_03: So uh you're doing a long cycle ride, aren't you, on Sunday?
- 2:28SPEAKER_02: On Sunday, yeah.
- 2:29SPEAKER_02: I'm doing to Liverpool, Liverpool to Chester and then back.
- 2:33SPEAKER_03: And back?
- 2:34unknown: Yeah.
- 2:34SPEAKER_03: So it's two.
- 2:35SPEAKER_03: Oh okay.
- 2:35SPEAKER_03: I thought you were going up there you get the train back.
- 2:37SPEAKER_02: No, you no, you cycle in and you cycle back.
- 2:40SPEAKER_03: Oh right, okay.
- 2:42SPEAKER_03: So you're cycling 53 miles on Sunday?
- 2:45SPEAKER_03: You've been training, haven't you?
- 2:46SPEAKER_03: Getting the pins out again?
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: Doing a bit, yeah.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: Doing a bit.
- 2:49SPEAKER_02: As much as I can.
- 2:50SPEAKER_03: I think you're quietly confident, aren't you?
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: I'd be happy to do it.
- 2:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: I've done it before.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: You said see before I've done it before, and I think that and I think the quickest it's in was about three and a half hours, something like that.
- 3:02SPEAKER_03: But that was Do you have like a little pub stop?
- 3:04SPEAKER_03: Or do you just go for it?
- 3:05SPEAKER_02: Just go for it.
- 3:06SPEAKER_03: And have a pint at the end.
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: So basically you go to Chester, you go to you get you end up at the hospital in Chester.
- 3:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 3:12SPEAKER_02: And they have like old like stalls up and that, and people like you will have a quick look at your bike and there's a TJ on and stuff like that.
- 3:19SPEAKER_03: So you get off there, have a little bit of a stop, and then come back.
- 3:22SPEAKER_02: Get me a little uh as the meal deals out and then um and then boot back off and then end up in town.
- 3:29SPEAKER_02: Like we do see like loads of people going for a bit inside.
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: If you go to town that day, any pub, you'll do you'll just see bikes outside.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: It's like Amsterdam, but like a bit shit.
- 3:39SPEAKER_03: Sounds really a bit shit at all.
- 3:41SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 3:42SPEAKER_03: Bit difference, yeah, yeah.
- 3:44SPEAKER_03: Well, good luck.
- 3:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, thank you very much.
- 3:46SPEAKER_03: Run us all now, I'm gonna.
- 3:48SPEAKER_03: If you make it, I'm sure you will.
- 3:49SPEAKER_03: I'm I am.
- 3:50SPEAKER_02: I'm confident I'm gonna do it.
- 3:51SPEAKER_02: I'll just say, like, you know, I'm 50 now, I'm a few years old, and last time I did it, and um it'd just be nice to be able to do it.
- 3:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, definitely.
- 3:59SPEAKER_03: Talking about Amsterdam, you've just reminded me of something.
- 4:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah, have you seen uh the videos now?
- 4:06SPEAKER_03: Obviously, there's some people on here from Amsterdam or the Netherlands.
- 4:09SPEAKER_03: Have you seen the video um of Amsterdam Pride?
- 4:13SPEAKER_03: No.
- 4:14SPEAKER_03: Oh my god, Andy, it just looks like the best party to me, a bit people-y like, but obviously they've got all the waterways, all the canals, and it looks like they use pretty much all of the uh waterway in the centre of Amsterdam, and they have all like floats going down.
- 4:30SPEAKER_03: So obviously we have street floats, don't we, with all things up?
- 4:32SPEAKER_03: These have got barges, and there's fireworks going off.
- 4:36SPEAKER_03: What are those things where oh you're on like this your feast of got like this thruster underneath and it pushes you out the water like a jet stream pushes you out of the water and you're floating above the water?
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: That's bash.
- 4:49SPEAKER_03: Oh, it's like you're on a bike and there's like water shoots you up in the air and you ride the water.
- 4:56SPEAKER_03: Somebody help me out.
- 4:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well you that's exactly it.
- 5:01SPEAKER_03: So there's somebody dressed in all the pride stuff on one of these things in the air, flying around the canal.
- 5:07SPEAKER_03: It just looks like the best party.
- 5:10SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it really, really does.
- 5:11SPEAKER_03: If any of you have been to uh Amsterdam Pride, let me know, any of you.
- 5:16SPEAKER_03: Um because right, I've got this dilemma.
- 5:19SPEAKER_03: You know what I'm a bit like, you know.
- 5:21SPEAKER_03: I'm I I like the idea of being social, but when it comes to actually being social, thank you, Nico, Nico, flyboard.
- 5:30SPEAKER_03: Hello, it's a flyboard, never heard of it.
- 5:33SPEAKER_03: It's a flyboard.
- 5:34SPEAKER_03: This thing with in the water that you shoot.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: Oh right.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: Oh, sorry, yeah, nice one.
- 5:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, oh my god.
- 5:40SPEAKER_03: Andy has already moved on to the next subject by then.
- 5:46SPEAKER_03: So, yeah, if any of you have been to Anthem Pride, let me know.
- 5:49SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's right, a peoply social.
- 5:51SPEAKER_03: So when I when I actually um go to be social, I've been looking forward to it, and on the day I'm like that.
- 5:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, how peoply is this thing going to be?
- 6:00SPEAKER_02: Where's Nico from?
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: That seems a very cosmopolitan name.
- 6:04SPEAKER_03: Okay, uh, I don't want to say his surname.
- 6:06SPEAKER_03: I'm thinking um Nico, Andy wants to know where you're from.
- 6:11SPEAKER_03: Uh okay, we're gonna take a guess.
- 6:13SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna say either somewhere Greek or maybe like Ukraine or something like that, or somewhere that way.
- 6:21SPEAKER_03: Nico, where you're from.
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 6:23SPEAKER_03: So, yeah, Amsterdam Pride.
- 6:25SPEAKER_03: I just uh it's it'll go on my list for when I'm feeling more social, I think.
- 6:29SPEAKER_03: It's uh it's upon us now, and there's no way I'm going now.
- 6:32SPEAKER_03: It'll have you've sort of got a builder for you.
- 6:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's one of them, isn't it?
- 6:34SPEAKER_03: It's like great and you're buzzing them all, and you get there, and just like a few people bump into you and you like well, it's shoulder to shoulder on the video, literally like shoulder to shoulder, and like people like oh view and all this.
- 6:47SPEAKER_03: Oh I think Jimmy had last two minutes and he'd be like, I'll just see you in the bar down there.
- 6:52SPEAKER_03: You enjoyed the pride, I'm off.
- 6:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and I'd probably be closely behind him.
- 6:56SPEAKER_03: So oh yes, that's right! Yes, yes, yes.
- 7:00SPEAKER_03: So Nico last time, Nico last time, he was on, he's from Berlin.
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: Oh, nice, great cissy, yeah, it is, isn't it?
- 7:09SPEAKER_03: You like Berlin, don't you?
- 7:11SPEAKER_02: It's huge, like, but it's such a good city.
- 7:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it is huge.
- 7:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you need a long time to get around it really properly.
- 7:20SPEAKER_03: Okay, so while you're all on, you'll be interested in this.
- 7:25SPEAKER_03: And you will it's not about fussy, I'm sorry, it's not about the fussy.
- 7:30SPEAKER_02: Well, I'm off then.
- 7:33SPEAKER_03: Right, so do you like and do you believe in mediumship?
- 7:41SPEAKER_02: Rice.
- 7:42SPEAKER_03: Um not a trick question.
- 7:46SPEAKER_02: Uh I'm dubious of it.
- 7:48SPEAKER_03: Okay, so you think there's some charlatans out there?
- 7:50SPEAKER_03: Do you think there could be some some truth in it that is people out there who are gifted?
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think there could be, yeah.
- 7:55SPEAKER_03: So you don't think the whole thing is a farce?
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 7:58SPEAKER_02: You see what?
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: I've seen Insidious and that pulsar geist and so everything on the TV is true.
- 8:06SPEAKER_02: I just think I just think do you know what it is with me, right?
- 8:09SPEAKER_02: Do you have used to watch Phoenix Knight?
- 8:11SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 8:11SPEAKER_02: Remember Clinton Baptiste?
- 8:13SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 8:15SPEAKER_02: He does a podcast, you know.
- 8:16SPEAKER_02: Does he?
- 8:17SPEAKER_02: Fucking boss, it's so funny.
- 8:19SPEAKER_03: Okay, I'll have to listen to it.
- 8:20SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, you've got that kind of medium where it's like, you know, I've got that I'm getting listening to names so yeah, you know what I mean?
- 8:29SPEAKER_02: But I think that I think there could be a bit of truth in it where people could connect with the other realms.
- 8:34SPEAKER_03: So I've seen quite a few mediums over the years.
- 8:36SPEAKER_03: You there's a bit of a thing goes to medium parties, wasn't there?
- 8:39SPEAKER_03: Somebody come around to your house, get all your matriarch, bottle of wine, all that, you know, take it dead seriously.
- 8:44SPEAKER_03: Um but um and there's been a couple, and I'm like, oh okay, yeah, there's some things there, yeah.
- 8:49SPEAKER_03: You know, but there's always loads of dross, loads of guesswork.
- 8:53SPEAKER_03: So I don't think I've ever had one that's just blown me away.
- 8:58SPEAKER_03: Nice.
- 8:58SPEAKER_03: Anyway, there's this guy who you all, all need to follow on TikTok.
- 9:05SPEAKER_03: I think he's on Facebook as well, and if he is, I'm gonna tag him in this uh reel when it goes out.
- 9:10SPEAKER_03: Uh his name's Dean, and if you look up psychic medium dean on TikTok.
- 9:17SPEAKER_03: Now, just beware, medium is spelled as it is, medium, but there's a jargon out there who's impersonating this guy, and he puts two eyes in the word medium, so you know that he's the the jargon, the fake Dean.
- 9:32SPEAKER_03: So psychic medium dean.
- 9:35SPEAKER_03: Nice.
- 9:36SPEAKER_03: I couldn't tell you how else he is, I'm not even going to try and guess.
- 9:39SPEAKER_03: And he's a youngish guy, and he's lovely, lovely down to earth.
- 9:43SPEAKER_03: And he does he does uh tours uh around the country, audiences of maybe 400 people, something like that.
- 9:48SPEAKER_03: So you're not talking big theatres or anything, smaller venues, nice and personal, maybe more of a chance to actually make a connection.
- 9:56SPEAKER_03: Um, and I've never known anybody so specific, Andy.
- 10:02SPEAKER_03: This guy he comes up with a name and Ronaldo.
- 10:06SPEAKER_03: The scenes we're talking about football.
- 10:09SPEAKER_03: But, I mean, it can be any name, it could be Bob, but it could be something really obscure.
- 10:13SPEAKER_03: He's had some really obscure ones, Ivana and all that.
- 10:16SPEAKER_03: And he he gets to the date of birth.
- 10:19SPEAKER_03: He says uh the month of June is important.
- 10:22SPEAKER_03: Mmm, 23rd.
- 10:24SPEAKER_03: This is associated with Bob, he died on this day, and I'm getting the feeling he had uh mosanurone disease.
- 10:31SPEAKER_03: Oh this mean that isn't factual, by the way, that's just me mating shit up.
- 10:34SPEAKER_03: But he has picked up on these things, a guy with mosineurone.
- 10:38SPEAKER_03: He picked up on a lady who um had a heart attack, cardiac arrest, and um she passed temporarily, and her brother, uh Mesa on the other side, and said, Nope, go back, go back, it's not your time.
- 10:51SPEAKER_03: Anyway, she I don't think she's told many people about this, but the museum picked up and he said, 'I've got your brother here, told how he died, when birthdays, all this stuff.' And this sounds weird.
- 11:01SPEAKER_03: Uh have you passed at some point?
- 11:03SPEAKER_03: She was like, Yeah.
- 11:04SPEAKER_03: Should was your brother there on the other side?
- 11:05SPEAKER_03: And she said, Yeah, but I thought it was my imagination.
- 11:07SPEAKER_03: He went, No, no, and he said what his brother said to her.
- 11:11SPEAKER_03: It was just unreal.
- 11:13SPEAKER_03: It was unreal.
- 11:14SPEAKER_03: Um, things like nicknames.
- 11:16SPEAKER_03: There was a guy who's American, and his brother had passed, and he was a biker, like a rock biker type person.
- 11:23SPEAKER_03: And he described him the bald head, this really, really long beard, the cut-off leather waistcoat thing with patches all over it.
- 11:31SPEAKER_03: He described his personality, and then he kept saying, I can't say that.
- 11:35SPEAKER_03: It's rude, I can't say that.
- 11:37SPEAKER_03: Anyway, next thing is um he said, Alright, okay, I've got to say he's telling me to say the word ugly.
- 11:44SPEAKER_03: So this brother who's still alive is like, oh my god, that's his nickname.
- 11:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:48SPEAKER_03: He said, We all called him ugly.
- 11:50SPEAKER_03: He wanted to be called that was his nickname.
- 11:52SPEAKER_03: So he picked up on that, and I was like, Fucking hell.
- 11:56SPEAKER_03: Every single show that I've now seen is on YouTube as well, Psychic Medium Dean, for the full show.
- 12:02SPEAKER_03: They're about an hour and a half, but you see reels on TikTok.
- 12:05SPEAKER_03: Every single one that I've seen so far has just left me like speechless, and in some instances and in tears.
- 12:13SPEAKER_03: Are you not worried it's fake though?
- 12:14SPEAKER_03: No.
- 12:15SPEAKER_02: So I looked to what's to say that it's that it's it's not it's not fake.
- 12:19SPEAKER_02: That's my thing.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: If it was done right in front of me, like this is where I believe it.
- 12:23SPEAKER_02: Because I always think like when it's on tally and stuff like that, you know, who's to say as it's recorded live, it's a live show.
- 12:29SPEAKER_03: You've seen it as it's happened, yeah.
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but who's to say that it didn't go like right?
- 12:32SPEAKER_02: We're doing this show later on, need you sort of fill in this questionnaire and it's all like details and stuff.
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: I'm just saying, I'm just saying from like devil's advocate, yeah, absolutely.
- 12:41SPEAKER_02: But who's to say that that hasn't happened?
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: I would believe it if like I went to see a museum and I'd never fucking seen them before in my life, never had any dealings with them, and I sat there and he was like, right, it's okay, this, that, that, and the other.
- 12:53SPEAKER_03: You'd have to see it for yourself and be blown away.
- 12:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:56SPEAKER_03: Well, I'm similar, I've got to be honest.
- 12:58SPEAKER_03: And I'd like to go to one of this guy's shows, but he sold out next year.
- 13:02SPEAKER_03: Apparently, he's releasing some new dates, two more new dates.
- 13:04SPEAKER_03: Don't see the black one.
- 13:06SPEAKER_03: No.
- 13:06SPEAKER_03: I don't think they've even they're a medium, they're just taking the account.
- 13:09SPEAKER_03: I think they take money off people to do private booking.
- 13:11SPEAKER_03: He doesn't do private booking.
- 13:12SPEAKER_03: You should do a parody one.
- 13:13SPEAKER_03: No, I'm not taking the piss out of all that.
- 13:15SPEAKER_03: He's worked too hard.
- 13:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 13:16SPEAKER_03: Anyway.
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: You leave RZ alone.
- 13:20SPEAKER_03: So I'd like to go and see him.
- 13:21SPEAKER_03: I do, I'd love to have him on the podcast, actually, because he's an interesting guy, not to get any sorts of messages from him, but just to learn a bit more about him and the experiences he's had and what's blown him away, what what's shocked him after all this time.
- 13:34SPEAKER_03: All that I'd love to get him on.
- 13:36SPEAKER_03: Um I might do a follow him on TikTok.
- 13:40SPEAKER_03: But um he's the only person ever that's just made me really believe, and you've got to see it for yourself.
- 13:47SPEAKER_03: And I I can totally know where you're coming from.
- 13:49SPEAKER_03: If I was hearing this story, I'd be like, nah.
- 13:52SPEAKER_03: But you've got to see it, and also he explains the ticket and process because I was like, Well, he's got your ticket details, he'd be able to look it up.
- 13:58SPEAKER_03: No, he doesn't go through a ticket agency, it's all like direct bookens, and you don't necessarily give your name, you can use a jarg email.
- 14:05SPEAKER_03: All you do is you serve your tickets that you want, and you turn up on the night.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 14:10SPEAKER_03: So he doesn't take any personal details from you before the night.
- 14:14SPEAKER_03: And everybody at the beginning is told when he's it's it's really easy to go, oh yeah, yeah, that's my sister who's got a dog and blah blah blah blah verbal diarrhea.
- 14:23SPEAKER_03: He's like, no.
- 14:24SPEAKER_03: So if I give you a date or a name, just say yes or no because I want to be able to feed you the information without getting any clues.
- 14:31SPEAKER_03: Try your best not to give me anything.
- 14:35SPEAKER_03: Fucking hell, Andy.
- 14:36SPEAKER_03: I swear to God, I can't stop watching him.
- 14:38SPEAKER_03: He's just mesmerising, and he doesn't try and be a showman, he's just a guy, he's just a guy with a good talent, and he's right, he's really nice with people as well.
- 14:48SPEAKER_03: His communication style is really nice.
- 14:50SPEAKER_03: He knows he's dealing with people who are grieving or have grieved, or maybe haven't thought about it for a little while.
- 14:55SPEAKER_03: You've got it bad for this fella.
- 14:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no, what it is, I want to put him out there.
- 15:00SPEAKER_03: It's not necessarily for me.
- 15:01SPEAKER_03: I'm passionate about him, but I want to put him out there so you guys, uh, and especially Facebook while you're on now, because you can go over on TikTok and have a look.
- 15:09SPEAKER_03: Um, he's just so good, and there's so many people out there who are shit.
- 15:14SPEAKER_03: So when I see somebody's really good, I want to push him out to get him to follow us.
- 15:17SPEAKER_03: He's got about half a million followers now on TikTok, but um, he deserves it, he's really good.
- 15:23SPEAKER_03: But I think when you all see it, even if you're not a believer, it might just make you think because you know you might the sceptics out there be like, Oh, we could just guess all that, it's just this, that, and the other.
- 15:34SPEAKER_03: But every now and then in there, there's just something that just makes you go, there's no way, yeah, there's just no way, and then everything else sort of falls into place, but it also makes you think about um if is this accurate, even if you're not getting a reading yourself, there's got to be something he's speaking to somebody out there somehow, so it reinforces your own belief in a way, and your faith in that sort of thing when you see other people getting those readings and how it affects them, and those emotions cannot be uh pretend what they're the reactions are unbelievable.
- 16:08SPEAKER_03: So, yeah, psychic medium dean.
- 16:10SPEAKER_03: I've said his name now about ten times, so you can't forget that.
- 16:13SPEAKER_03: And medium with one eye, not two, because the because the two eyes are bad.
- 16:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah, the two eye one is the is the jarg one, the fake one.
- 16:21SPEAKER_03: So there you go.
- 16:22SPEAKER_02: Imposter Dean.
- 16:23SPEAKER_03: The impostatean, and we can't have that.
- 16:25SPEAKER_03: Dean's work too fucking hard.
- 16:27SPEAKER_02: There's only one Dean.
- 16:28SPEAKER_03: There's only one medium dean.
- 16:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 16:29SPEAKER_03: Get on the pod, lads.
- 16:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 16:32SPEAKER_03: So we've got some more hellos.
- 16:33SPEAKER_03: Nico's have a lovely little chat, too, so yeah.
- 16:35SPEAKER_03: It's about five messages from Nico.
- 16:37SPEAKER_03: Oh, what's a shame?
- 16:39SPEAKER_03: Um, say about mediums can help with grief, maybe.
- 16:42SPEAKER_03: He was born in Berlin.
- 16:43SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 16:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 16:44SPEAKER_03: Uh we've got Daisy.
- 16:46SPEAKER_03: Uh, how are we all doing?
- 16:48SPEAKER_03: We're fine, thank you very much.
- 16:50SPEAKER_03: Andy said, How are you doing?
- 16:51SPEAKER_03: Rachel from Cornwall.
- 16:53SPEAKER_03: Oh, I love Cornwall.
- 16:54SPEAKER_03: Oh, the other Rachel, who's an OG.
- 16:57SPEAKER_03: Uh, stuck in hospital with two slip discs.
- 16:59SPEAKER_03: Oh mate, oh, I've been there.
- 17:01SPEAKER_03: Didn't go to hospital, but the slip disk monarchy had happened to him in Germany, funny enough.
- 17:05SPEAKER_02: It's any consolation.
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: I had a fill-in done yesterday.
- 17:07SPEAKER_03: Oh, you had a fill-in?
- 17:10SPEAKER_03: Not quite the same, is it?
- 17:11SPEAKER_03: That just sounded like you make a connection with the gale here, you know what I mean?
- 17:14SPEAKER_03: So I'm just trying to make a connection with you.
- 17:17SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 17:17SPEAKER_03: And Mary, who's a long tail follower from Wisconsin.
- 17:22SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, we've had loads of people on, it's really really nice.
- 17:24SPEAKER_03: So that's it.
- 17:27SPEAKER_03: Ten out of ten.
- 17:30SPEAKER_03: Okay, now right then.
- 17:32SPEAKER_03: So while we've got Facy on, uh I'm just gonna do a little on this day and then we're gonna kick it all off to enjoy the rest of your day.
- 17:40SPEAKER_03: Okay?
- 17:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 17:41SPEAKER_03: Are we all sitting comfortably?
- 17:43SPEAKER_03: I am.
- 17:43SPEAKER_02: You are.
- 17:44SPEAKER_02: I might tell I might treat myself to a biscuit then.
- 17:46SPEAKER_03: You might treat yourself to a biscuit.
- 17:47SPEAKER_03: Right then, so 16th of July 1939.
- 17:52SPEAKER_03: A man called Barry Seal was born.
- 17:56SPEAKER_03: Do you know the name?
- 17:58SPEAKER_03: Actor.
- 17:59SPEAKER_03: No.
- 18:01SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 18:02SPEAKER_03: Nowhere near all I've got.
- 18:04SPEAKER_03: That's all you've got.
- 18:05SPEAKER_03: And there's loads of other professions that you could choose from.
- 18:07SPEAKER_03: We're just gonna leave it there.
- 18:08SPEAKER_03: No, he's not a carpenter.
- 18:10SPEAKER_03: No.
- 18:10SPEAKER_02: Arsus.
- 18:11SPEAKER_03: Arsus, no.
- 18:12SPEAKER_03: Okay, actually, three gases gone.
- 18:14SPEAKER_03: They're all shit.
- 18:15SPEAKER_03: Right then.
- 18:16SPEAKER_03: Barry Seal.
- 18:18SPEAKER_02: Go on.
- 18:19SPEAKER_03: So he was born in Baton Rouge in Louisiana.
- 18:25SPEAKER_03: Mm-hmm.
- 18:26SPEAKER_03: And by the time he was a teenager, he had an obsession with flying.
- 18:31SPEAKER_03: He was obsessed with this.
- 18:35SPEAKER_03: And he became a commercial pilot.
- 18:37SPEAKER_03: He followed his dream, he pushed and pushed, and he became a commercial pilot.
- 18:41SPEAKER_03: And he flew for TWA.
- 18:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:43SPEAKER_03: And he was very confident.
- 18:46SPEAKER_03: Cocky confidence is a bit worrying, isn't it?
- 18:48SPEAKER_03: Especially in the cockpit.
- 18:48SPEAKER_03: Like, is it really needed in there?
- 18:50SPEAKER_03: But he was one of them.
- 18:51SPEAKER_03: He was very, very, very skilled anyway.
- 18:54SPEAKER_03: And uh hardly thought of.
- 18:56SPEAKER_03: But by the 1970s and 80s, that flying skill had taken him somewhere else, somewhere far less glamorous than TWA flying passengers around the world.
- 19:07SPEAKER_03: He became a drug smuggler.
- 19:09SPEAKER_03: Have you heard the name now?
- 19:11SPEAKER_03: Do you recognise him, maybe?
- 19:12SPEAKER_03: Has there been a film aid's about him?
- 19:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 19:17SPEAKER_03: There's been all sorts of books and all sorts being made about him.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: Go on.
- 19:21SPEAKER_03: So Barry Seal, he became one of the pilots moving drugs into the United States for the median car cell.
- 19:30SPEAKER_03: The same car cell associated with Pablo Escobar, as we know, and the uh Achua brothers.
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: So they're hippo populations.
- 19:38SPEAKER_02: I've just gone on a nice tangent here, but the hippo population in Colombia, because of his private zoos, just like mushrooms.
- 19:46SPEAKER_03: They've got a real problem with a hippo problem in Colombia.
- 19:49SPEAKER_03: Could you know that?
- 19:50SPEAKER_03: Because of Pablo Escobar and his adds, didn't he?
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: And like they just like they got out the zoo and that and they've just been breeding.
- 19:57SPEAKER_03: Just been mating all over Colombia.
- 19:59SPEAKER_02: Since the 80s.
- 20:01SPEAKER_03: Standing all over their weed, trampling all over the marijuana.
- 20:07SPEAKER_02: I've always mattered.
- 20:08SPEAKER_02: Anyway, I digress.
- 20:10SPEAKER_03: You digress.
- 20:11SPEAKER_03: So yeah.
- 20:13SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I love random shite like that though?
- 20:16SPEAKER_03: I didn't know that.
- 20:16SPEAKER_03: Who else do you know about the hippo population in Colombia apart from Colombians?
- 20:20SPEAKER_03: You know?
- 20:21SPEAKER_03: So anyway, he's flying drunks for Pablo and his cronies.
- 20:24SPEAKER_03: I'm not just talking like howls all's, you know, we're talking planefuls.
- 20:28SPEAKER_03: And he was using the skies like criminals who'd use back alleys, yeah.
- 20:33SPEAKER_03: Dodging all over the skies.
- 20:36SPEAKER_03: And his story is almost like a crime thriller, and that's why his story has inspired you know movies and books and stuff like that.
- 20:43SPEAKER_03: However, these sort of things, you know, they don't last forever.
- 20:47SPEAKER_03: I think his cocky confidence might have got the best of him in the end.
- 20:50SPEAKER_03: And he was coarse.
- 20:52SPEAKER_03: Um and he became, once he was coarse, he was caught on smuggling charges, obviously, he became an informant for the DEA, which is the drug enforcement uh administration, for those who don't know.
- 21:04SPEAKER_03: And he testified in major drug cases, and his information was considered extremely valuable.
- 21:12SPEAKER_03: Anyway, they also think the there's like wide allegations around intelligence connections and who knew what, when, and all that.
- 21:18SPEAKER_03: You gave them all that sort of information.
- 21:21SPEAKER_03: But carcells are not very forgiving about these sort of things, are they?
- 21:26SPEAKER_03: You know, if you're gonna start blabbing, they're not gonna like it.
- 21:30SPEAKER_02: No, no one likes a grass.
- 21:31SPEAKER_03: Nobody likes a grass, especially a scouser.
- 21:37SPEAKER_03: So, 1986, Seal was on probation, and he'd been ordered to spend nights at this uh Salvation Army halfway house in Bassant Rouge.
- 21:48SPEAKER_03: But, you know, if you're on probation uh and you're ordered to go to this same place every day at the same time, you're just a prime target for anybody who wants to disappear, you aren't you?
- 21:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: So I'm reading this game.
- 22:01SPEAKER_03: I can already predict what's going to happen here, you know.
- 22:04SPEAKER_03: So 19th of February, 19 no, yeah, 1986.
- 22:09SPEAKER_03: Barry Seal, he drove into the car park of the Salvation Army, where Colombian hitmen were waiting for him.
- 22:16SPEAKER_03: And as he parked, the gunman opened fired with a suppressed Mach 10 submachine gun.
- 22:21SPEAKER_03: They weren't taking any fucking chances, like, were they?
- 22:24SPEAKER_03: It wasn't just like, you know, a pistol, bang, bang, you know, one on the head, two in the chest, or wherever they do.
- 22:29SPEAKER_03: It was a submachine gun.
- 22:30SPEAKER_03: So he liked obliterated him.
- 22:32SPEAKER_03: Died almost instantly, of course, and he was 46.
- 22:36SPEAKER_03: So even though he's 46, he's done an awful lot in his years, really, you know.
- 22:40SPEAKER_03: And probably had a lot of stories.
- 22:43SPEAKER_03: Would I want to share a jail cell with this sort of guy?
- 22:46SPEAKER_03: Probably not.
- 22:47SPEAKER_03: But if I had to, I'd be like, tell me all your stories, mate.
- 22:50SPEAKER_03: Make a note for the book I'm going to write about you when you get killed.
- 22:54SPEAKER_03: Make loads of money off you.
- 22:56SPEAKER_03: Anyway, several men linked to the Medellin car cell were later arrested and convicted of the killing.
- 23:04SPEAKER_03: But you know, he started off as a really gifted young pilot, and I don't think he ever sort of had aspirations of working as a smuggler, but opportunity came about, and probably the money.
- 23:16SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 23:18SPEAKER_03: Just you know, one decision changed the rest of his life.
- 23:22SPEAKER_03: Absolutely mad, mad.
- 23:24SPEAKER_03: But he had some balls.
- 23:26SPEAKER_03: You know, okay, the sky's a big place, isn't it?
- 23:29SPEAKER_03: But there's there's uh there's flying lanes, isn't it?
- 23:31SPEAKER_03: Okay, he might have flowed outside of these to get away from them.
- 23:35SPEAKER_03: But you know, there's loads of aircraft in the air, there's radars and shit, even back then.
- 23:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he took some chances, like didn't he?
- 23:44SPEAKER_03: Balls of steel.
- 23:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 23:47SPEAKER_03: So what you all think about that?
- 23:50SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 23:51SPEAKER_03: Barbarella is sitting in the heat in a thunderstorm.
- 23:54SPEAKER_03: Barbarella's on Hollybobs at the moment.
- 23:56SPEAKER_03: She's been sending me photos.
- 23:58SPEAKER_03: She sent me a photo of herself and a Lilo.
- 24:00SPEAKER_03: Scantily clad, my art, Barbarella.
- 24:04SPEAKER_03: It was appreciated.
- 24:05SPEAKER_03: Right then, we're gonna leave it all there.
- 24:07SPEAKER_03: If you want to um listen to the rest of the episode, it'll be out on God's when's this one gonna be out?
- 24:13SPEAKER_03: Um, not next week, the week after.
- 24:15SPEAKER_03: We're a bit ahead of ourselves.
- 24:17SPEAKER_03: So uh it'll be out of the masses on the 16th of July, or a little bit ahead on Patreon.
- 24:23SPEAKER_03: So um, ooh, Vic that cup.
- 24:26SPEAKER_03: Are you fucking laughing at my dirty mug?
- 24:29SPEAKER_03: Holly's mug, shaming me, you're dirty, you putty bitch.
- 24:31SPEAKER_03: It's dirty and it, yeah, look, I'll show you it all.
- 24:34SPEAKER_03: There you go.
- 24:35SPEAKER_03: I don't pick any bones about it.
- 24:36SPEAKER_03: I don't wash it for ages because it makes it taste better.
- 24:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I have another little look, there you go, and an absolute minger.
- 24:41SPEAKER_02: Needs a bleach and that's on it.
- 24:43SPEAKER_03: It does need a bleach, but it needs a bleach when it's black, black.
- 24:46SPEAKER_03: There's rice around this around the side, so it's a Winnie the Pooh mug, right?
- 24:50SPEAKER_03: Uh with ae or and all that.
- 24:52SPEAKER_03: I says, see the good in all things.
- 24:54SPEAKER_03: It's it's nice little things.
- 24:56SPEAKER_03: When I drink, I've got a nice little positive affirmation on my mug, right?
- 24:59SPEAKER_03: But when I can't see the writing anymore, that's when I wash my mug.
- 25:04SPEAKER_03: It's like an indicator for washing.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:06SPEAKER_03: And there'll be other people out there.
- 25:08SPEAKER_03: I know it's grim, Karen.
- 25:10SPEAKER_03: I know it's grim.
- 25:12SPEAKER_03: I know.
- 25:12SPEAKER_03: I don't care.
- 25:15SPEAKER_03: If I cared, I wouldn't show you, would I?
- 25:17SPEAKER_03: I actually put pictures on Patreon for everyone to say as well.
- 25:20SPEAKER_03: Right, so we're gonna leave you there.
- 25:21SPEAKER_03: Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, have a nice one.
- 25:24SPEAKER_03: And thanks very, very much uh for joining us all.
- 25:27SPEAKER_03: Just gonna turn you round to Andy can say choro.
- 25:31SPEAKER_03: Lasers, tasers.
- 25:34SPEAKER_03: Lasers, tasers.
- 25:35SPEAKER_03: Okay, then thanks everybody.
- 25:37SPEAKER_03: Have a great day.
- 25:39SPEAKER_03: Right, have you heard of the name Anne Askew?
- 25:43SPEAKER_03: Or Anne Askew.
- 25:46SPEAKER_03: Um she was executed.
- 25:48SPEAKER_03: She was executed a very long time, in 1546.
- 25:52SPEAKER_03: Obviously, you know, it's a long time ago.
- 25:54SPEAKER_03: And it's not one of these things that you wouldn't necessarily learn in school in history because we learn shit stuff.
- 26:00SPEAKER_03: I said this recently.
- 26:01SPEAKER_03: All the board and stuff, but um I'm gonna tell this story because um she fascinates me.
- 26:07SPEAKER_03: She fascinates me, and she was ballsy, another ballsy person, and she's got links with Henry VIII.
- 26:14SPEAKER_02: Oh, um.
- 26:15SPEAKER_03: So it was during those times.
- 26:18SPEAKER_03: So let's talk a little bit more about Anne.
- 26:20SPEAKER_03: She was 25 um when she was burned alive at Smithfield in London on the 16th of July 1546.
- 26:28SPEAKER_03: She wasn't a queen or a noble woman, she wasn't famous or nothing like that.
- 26:33SPEAKER_03: She was simply a young woman who refused to tell powerful men what they wanted to hear.
- 26:39SPEAKER_03: How many times have we heard that in history?
- 26:41SPEAKER_03: Women not behaving themselves and yeah, but why?
- 26:45SPEAKER_03: What was it?
- 26:46SPEAKER_03: So she was born around 1521 into like a really wealthy family in Lincolnshire, and she was married to a guy called Thomas Khyne, and the marriage was not a happy one at all.
- 26:54SPEAKER_03: She was very intelligent, outspoken, and very, very religious.
- 26:59SPEAKER_03: Um, at a time when talking about religion was a bit dangerous, really.
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 27:05SPEAKER_03: Um, now I got a little bit confused here because she was really heavily into Protestant beliefs.
- 27:12SPEAKER_03: And around this time, Henry VIII obviously was trying to change people's minds on the whole um Catholicism and convert everybody over to Church of England.
- 27:22SPEAKER_03: Now, he wasn't trying to like you know, completely change everybody's views, just some of the views that were practiced by the Catholic Church.
- 27:29SPEAKER_03: And uh Anne also had these beliefs, but she was a little bit more right-wing with it, a bit too much.
- 27:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Henry was a bit in the middle.
- 27:38SPEAKER_03: He liked some of the Catholic stuff, but not obviously what the bit that you can't get divorced, he didn't like that bitch that got shelved.
- 27:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so he picked and choose, chose, but um Anne was very firmly on the Protestant side, and she was a bit gobby with it, and people did not like it at all.
- 27:57SPEAKER_03: And she was part of this growing movement pushing uh for bigger religious changes outside of what Henry and the Catholic Church wanted, she questioned traditional teachings and openly discussed um these things in front of many powerful people that we considered dangerous.
- 28:13SPEAKER_03: She was ballzy like.
- 28:15SPEAKER_03: Anyway, unfortunately, um Anne did this far too often and in front of the wrong people, and eventually your word was getting back.
- 28:25SPEAKER_03: But rather than just um kill her for doing so, they wanted information from her because there was also other influential people who were on her side, if you like, who also sane beliefs.
- 28:39SPEAKER_02: One of them It's gonna be another bad seal here, innit?
- 28:42SPEAKER_03: One of them was Queen Catherine Parr, Henry VIII's sixth and final wife, if you didn't know.
- 28:50SPEAKER_03: Catherine, another educated, intelligent woman, interested in religious reform.
- 28:56SPEAKER_03: So they both uh sang from the same hymn sheet.
- 29:00SPEAKER_03: So they captured Anne and they tortured her and they tortured her terribly, terribly.
- 29:06SPEAKER_03: They tortured her in a way that wasn't gonna kill her, but it would be really, really, really horrendously painful.
- 29:12SPEAKER_03: Broke her legs, not just like her knees, just like smashed her legs to bits.
- 29:17SPEAKER_03: No, no, no, just bone fragments left, basically, you know.
- 29:20SPEAKER_03: Anything and everything that you could do without her really passing out, so they could try and get information from her, and she would not give them what they wanted.
- 29:29SPEAKER_03: Like, no, you're not getting it.
- 29:31SPEAKER_03: It was a 25-year-old woman, you know, undergoing terrible, terrible torture, and she would not give up any of the names, especially Catherine Parr.
- 29:40SPEAKER_03: So she was obviously in the Tower London and she was there for quite a long time, undergoing this torture for lengthy periods.
- 29:48SPEAKER_03: And I was looking at some of the records, and she went on the stretching rack, uh, arms and legs pulled in opposite directions, joints dislocated, muscles tore, and like I say, everything just smashed.
- 30:02SPEAKER_03: So, because she refused to give this information, and they obviously realised that torture was not gonna do it, she was then sentenced to death.
- 30:13SPEAKER_03: Um, but she could not walk, she could not walk to the gallows.
- 30:19SPEAKER_03: So, you know, think about that for a moment.
- 30:20SPEAKER_03: A woman in mid-20s, so badly injured that she just could not stand properly, and she still wouldn't give up the names.
- 30:26SPEAKER_03: So, 16th of July 1546, Anne had to be carried through London on a chair because she just could not sit up straight.
- 30:34SPEAKER_03: Never mean, never mind, you know, stand.
- 30:37SPEAKER_03: And when she reached Smith Smithfield, she had to be chained upright because her body couldn't support itself.
- 30:45SPEAKER_00: This is brutal, yes.
- 30:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 30:48SPEAKER_03: And then she was offered a final opportunity to admit that she was wrong, give in, save herself, all that, and she refused.
- 30:56SPEAKER_03: Well, you'd just want to die by that point, wouldn't you?
- 30:58SPEAKER_03: I wouldn't give up the names.
- 30:59SPEAKER_03: I'm like, well, I've come this far without you know coughing up the names, and uh I'm literally on my last ease, just kill me now.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:06SPEAKER_03: So now I'd be defined by that point.
- 31:08SPEAKER_03: I mean, I wouldn't be as brave as her.
- 31:09SPEAKER_03: I wouldn't dob anybody in.
- 31:11SPEAKER_03: I'm not I'm not a grass, but I don't know whether I'd be as brave as her.
- 31:16SPEAKER_03: I'd just be like, I'd try and find something to just do myself in, just wherever, anything, anything, give somebody a blowy just to cut my neck, just keep my head up and put your cock on my mouth because I can't move it myself and then slip me throat.
- 31:31SPEAKER_03: Thanks.
- 31:32SPEAKER_03: So that's where my mind goes, Ted of Lesnar.
- 31:41SPEAKER_03: Anyway, on that day a short time later, Anne was burned at the stake alongside John LaSalle, John Adams, and Nicholas Bolenian.
- 31:51SPEAKER_03: And the tragic part of the story which made me go, no, Henry VIII died less than seven months later.
- 32:01SPEAKER_03: And his son, Edward VI, became king.
- 32:05SPEAKER_03: If you don't know already, Edward um he was pushing um England much further into um the Protestant faith.
- 32:13SPEAKER_03: And a lot of what Anne was saying, he was actually in favour of, and a lot of the things came into law and and religion, if you like, in the country.
- 32:22SPEAKER_02: That's heavy.
- 32:25SPEAKER_03: So she was punished for her beliefs which actually came into general gen pop a few years.
- 32:32SPEAKER_03: I think it was in like two or three years, something like that.
- 32:34SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's great.
- 32:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 32:36SPEAKER_03: But you know, for me, this just shows somebody who was defiant um till the end, and she had very, very strong beliefs and she held fast what a woman.
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:47SPEAKER_03: And I'd like to argue actually, there's probably not an awful lot of people that do that now.
- 32:50SPEAKER_03: I don't think we're as strong willed as people back then.
- 32:53SPEAKER_03: People were much more uh willing to die on the sword back then.
- 32:59SPEAKER_03: Nowadays, no.
- 33:00SPEAKER_03: Take your phone off here, you like that.
- 33:01SPEAKER_03: What do you want?
- 33:02SPEAKER_03: Take your pin number.
- 33:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, have all my money, just give me your phone back.
- 33:06SPEAKER_03: Wouldn't take much like, would it?
- 33:08SPEAKER_03: And there she is, tortured, smashed into smithereens and still not coughing up to guts.
- 33:14SPEAKER_02: What an horrible ways to go.
- 33:15SPEAKER_03: It is, isn't it?
- 33:16SPEAKER_03: I mean, hung drawn and quartered is bad.
- 33:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's a bit that's a bit bad.
- 33:18SPEAKER_03: It's bad.
- 33:19SPEAKER_03: But with this, I don't know, it's just hearing all your bones smash and not actually passing out or doing it in a way that you're still alive for it all.
- 33:27SPEAKER_03: Hung drawn and quartered, I think when you're once you make the first incision and take your guts out, you're gonna go into immediate shock and you'd be delirious.
- 33:36SPEAKER_03: Anyway, and a skew, may you rest in pieces?
- 33:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 33:42SPEAKER_03: Oh my god, that's so bad.
- 33:43SPEAKER_03: I'm so sorry.
- 33:48SPEAKER_02: It was fucking good, though.
- 33:50SPEAKER_03: It wasn't even written down.
- 33:52SPEAKER_03: That came from the head.
- 33:55SPEAKER_02: And made a funny practice on that all weekend, yeah.
- 33:57SPEAKER_02: No, honestly.
- 33:58SPEAKER_02: Nest in peace.
- 33:59SPEAKER_03: No, swear down on Daniel's life that had not come to me until that moment.
- 34:04SPEAKER_03: I was funny just like that, like a comedian, a proper comedian.
- 34:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 34:08SPEAKER_02: Ah brilliant.
- 34:10SPEAKER_03: Right, talking about comedians.
- 34:11SPEAKER_03: Do you like Sean Loch?
- 34:12SPEAKER_02: Sure, yeah.
- 34:14SPEAKER_03: So me and Jim have started watching stand up on Netflix just for something to watch.
- 34:19SPEAKER_03: That isn't like you know, drama and people killing each other.
- 34:21SPEAKER_03: Watch Sean Locke recently.
- 34:23SPEAKER_03: I was crying.
- 34:24SPEAKER_03: I was crying.
- 34:25SPEAKER_03: He did this toupee thing, and I can't do it myself, I've got to watch it.
- 34:30SPEAKER_03: But he was like, did that, and then when the wind blows, like that.
- 34:33SPEAKER_03: But he's got bigger hands, and the way he did it was just so funny.
- 34:37SPEAKER_03: Anyway, if you like it, stands up, watch Sean Loch.
- 34:40SPEAKER_03: Really good.
- 34:40SPEAKER_03: So I digress.
- 34:45SPEAKER_03: I believe you've got something for us.
- 34:47SPEAKER_03: Oh, I have.
- 34:48SPEAKER_03: You've been chomped at the bit, I think.
- 34:49SPEAKER_03: Have you to share this little uh yeah?
- 34:51SPEAKER_03: So I'm gonna tell you about a fatal uh disaster on the 16th of July 1948.
- 34:57SPEAKER_03: But it's not like just your regular jet or nothing like that.
- 35:01SPEAKER_03: It's not an engine blowing up or morbid episode.
- 35:05SPEAKER_03: It's not come on, Barry Seal was dead interesting.
- 35:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, but he's still he still got it, didn't he?
- 35:11SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 35:11SPEAKER_02: He's it it's just like it's morbid, it's like everyone's diet on this one.
- 35:17SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 35:18SPEAKER_03: Is your segment about death by any chance?
- 35:20SPEAKER_02: No, okay.
- 35:21SPEAKER_03: Well, there you go.
- 35:22SPEAKER_03: So I'm bringing the death, you're bringing the light and the and the dark to the light.
- 35:29SPEAKER_03: Right then, so 16th of July 1948, a seaplane called the Miss Macau.
- 35:35SPEAKER_03: What a nice name for a seaplane, the Miss Macau, took off on what should have been a routine flight to Hong Kong.
- 35:42SPEAKER_03: Instead, it became one of the strangest and deadliest flights and crimes in aviation history.
- 35:50SPEAKER_03: So, this isn't an accident, this was a crime which caused a crash.
- 35:58SPEAKER_03: So the aircraft was a Casolina flying boat.
- 36:01SPEAKER_03: I'd love to have a go at one of them, you know.
- 36:02SPEAKER_03: I don't mean fly one, just get in one.
- 36:04SPEAKER_03: And it was operated by the Macauye Transport Company.
- 36:07SPEAKER_03: Anyway, on board were passengers, crew members, and four men who had absolutely no intention of reaching Hong Kong.
- 36:16SPEAKER_03: They were there to commit a robbery.
- 36:20SPEAKER_03: So it wasn't political, it wasn't terrorism, nothing like that.
- 36:23SPEAKER_03: It was just greed, basically.
- 36:24SPEAKER_03: They knew that the passengers on this very small private aircraft were wealthy businessmen involved in the gold trade.
- 36:33SPEAKER_03: Um, and um these guys thought, right, we're just gonna jump on, we'll hijack the plane, we'll rob the gear, and we'll tell the pilot to land where we want them to, and then we'll get off.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 36:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah, job done.
- 36:46SPEAKER_03: That was the plan.
- 36:47SPEAKER_03: That's as simple as it was, basically.
- 36:50SPEAKER_03: So there was a little problem though, because when they tried to overtake the plane, the pilot wasn't just gonna go, yeah, there you go, there's the wheel, there's the keys, whatever.
- 37:01SPEAKER_03: I'll just be in the back in the back on the drinks, Charlie.
- 37:04SPEAKER_03: You know, yeah, he wasn't gonna do that.
- 37:06SPEAKER_03: It's a private aircraft.
- 37:08SPEAKER_03: So there's a little bit of a scuffle and uh violence, um, all the rest of it in this very confined cabin, and things started to unravel very, very quickly.
- 37:19SPEAKER_03: And at one point, the pilot was shot.
- 37:23SPEAKER_03: The only person able to fly the plane, he was shot.
- 37:28SPEAKER_03: And the aircraft immediately became uncontrollable, and within moments, disaster was on fallen.
- 37:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 37:35SPEAKER_03: So the Miss Macau crashed into the Pearl River Delta, and there's 23 passengers, three crew members, 26 people on board, and after the crash, 25 people out of the 26 died.
- 37:48SPEAKER_03: One person survived.
- 37:51SPEAKER_03: The sole survivor was one of the hijackers.
- 37:55SPEAKER_03: And his name is generally recorded as Wong Yu, but we're not exactly certain that's his name.
- 38:02SPEAKER_03: And according to the report, he escaped from the aircraft shortly before impact and somehow survived the crash.
- 38:09SPEAKER_03: Um, now what's weird about this when they did actually capture him, yeah, but this was like hijacking an aircraft, there's no laws, there was no words for this, it hadn't happened.
- 38:22SPEAKER_03: So, like, you know, passenger air travel was still newish, obviously been happening for a while.
- 38:27SPEAKER_03: So, but there hadn't been this sort of crime in the air, so there was no aviation rules, there was no ground laws, there was no policy internationally about how to deal with something a hijack.
- 38:41SPEAKER_03: So, yeah, this is 1948.
- 38:43SPEAKER_03: They found themselves in this like puzzle.
- 38:45SPEAKER_03: What are we going to do with this guy?
- 38:47SPEAKER_03: Also, who's got jurisdiction?
- 38:49SPEAKER_03: There was no law around this.
- 38:51SPEAKER_03: Was it Macau?
- 38:53SPEAKER_03: Was it Hong Kong?
- 38:54SPEAKER_03: Because that's where it was bound.
- 38:56SPEAKER_03: Was it China?
- 38:56SPEAKER_03: That's where it was coming from.
- 38:58SPEAKER_03: The aircraft operated between territories and crashed in Chinese water.
- 39:04SPEAKER_03: So, so what was the crime as well?
- 39:06SPEAKER_03: Because like we can't call it hijacking because there wasn't a thing for it then that the ex the law didn't exist.
- 39:13SPEAKER_03: So, as a result, the authorities struggle to determine how Wang Yu should be prosecuted and where.
- 39:20SPEAKER_03: So it's one of the reasons why the case became really internationally famous.
- 39:25SPEAKER_03: So it exposed this enormous gap in aviation law and highlighted how vulnerable actually commercial aircraft can be.
- 39:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 39:34SPEAKER_03: And the thought then, well, they were hijacking the aircraft to steal things, they were hijacking the aircraft to maybe take them somewhere, they had drugs on them or whatever.
- 39:42SPEAKER_03: It was like a minefield.
- 39:44SPEAKER_03: So then from this, it actually um then causes catalyst of laws and aviation law and policy coming in.
- 39:54SPEAKER_03: Of well, what happened, what we're gonna do?
- 39:56SPEAKER_03: This happens again.
- 39:57SPEAKER_03: It came from Miss McCann.
- 39:59SPEAKER_02: Shit.
- 40:00SPEAKER_03: So wonder what happened to Wang Yu or whatever his name was.
- 40:03SPEAKER_03: He was done, um, but it was for theft, I think, or attempted theft.
- 40:08SPEAKER_03: Um, and I think there was some danger in the uh charges or something like that, but it was really sketchy.
- 40:12SPEAKER_02: I thought there was gonna be like he was gonna fucking walk halfway cars or songs or something like that.
- 40:16SPEAKER_03: It was dead, dead sketchy, like um, but he he got done, just not not enough.
- 40:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and yeah, 25 people killed.
- 40:23SPEAKER_02: Interesting facts are you thinking?
- 40:26SPEAKER_03: Thank you very much.
- 40:27SPEAKER_03: I thought so.
- 40:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and there's a lot of death involved, but I thought all three were like really, really interesting.
- 40:32SPEAKER_03: Barry Seal.
- 40:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah, really interesting guy, you know.
- 40:36SPEAKER_03: Um, drug mule turns informants, Anne fucking bash to bits, and the Miss McCown.
- 40:42SPEAKER_02: Feel sick thinking about that.
- 40:43SPEAKER_03: I know, poor Anne.
- 40:44SPEAKER_03: No, right then, so over to you, young Andrew.
- 40:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, young Andrew.
- 40:52SPEAKER_03: Young you're younger than me by six months, so you're well six, actually, is it?
- 40:57SPEAKER_02: Four.
- 40:58SPEAKER_02: Four.
- 40:59SPEAKER_02: Oh, I can't believe I'm gonna be 51 four months.
- 41:01SPEAKER_02: That's disgusting.
- 41:02SPEAKER_03: Hasn't the year gone quick?
- 41:04SPEAKER_02: Too quick.
- 41:05SPEAKER_03: It's gone really quick.
- 41:06SPEAKER_02: Too quick.
- 41:07SPEAKER_03: If you think about it, we went away for your 50th, didn't we?
- 41:11SPEAKER_03: For to Paul Some just before your 50th.
- 41:13SPEAKER_03: I mean, that's flown.
- 41:15SPEAKER_03: It feels like yesterday we were flying home all dead in the car.
- 41:19SPEAKER_03: Do you remember that journey home?
- 41:20SPEAKER_03: Neil was driving and we just didn't speak at all in the car, all four of us just dead.
- 41:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 41:26SPEAKER_03: Good trick, that right then.
- 41:28SPEAKER_03: Come on, then, give us your story.
- 41:30SPEAKER_02: So it's uh it's my little segment on um keeping in the theme of like sort of weird societies and well, your weird society last time went down very well.
- 41:39SPEAKER_03: Have you watched it of the episode?
- 41:41SPEAKER_02: I didn't even have a chance to watch it all.
- 41:43SPEAKER_03: I didn't think you watched We She Dead Busy, but whenever you do, I've never serious watched it either because she is dead busy.
- 41:47SPEAKER_03: But I put pictures up of the the phallic glass and the platforms and all that.
- 41:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 41:53SPEAKER_02: Because I know when I was when I was like doing the reading for it and that, and it was like, I've got to have a look at some of these, like so with the like tight in Beggars Bennison or whatever, and did the Googles, and there's loads of them, like all like these like cockshade glasses and all that.
- 42:07SPEAKER_02: It's nuts, isn't it?
- 42:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 42:08SPEAKER_03: Um I was really intrigued, and after I listened to your story, I read more into it, and um they took it really deadly serious and everything.
- 42:18SPEAKER_03: I thought it might have been a bit tongue-in-cheek.
- 42:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 42:20SPEAKER_03: No, not at all.
- 42:22SPEAKER_03: Fascinating.
- 42:22SPEAKER_03: Anyway, give us another fascinating month.
- 42:24SPEAKER_02: For this episode, it's entitled Order of the Pug.
- 42:29SPEAKER_02: Order of the Pug.
- 42:31SPEAKER_02: Order of the Pug.
- 42:32SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 42:33SPEAKER_02: It's an old secret society.
- 42:35unknown: Oh, okay.
- 42:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 42:37SPEAKER_02: There was one way only for Europe's intellectual elite to become a member of what is probably history's Oddest Masonic society.
- 42:44SPEAKER_03: To the Masonic Society, okay.
- 42:46SPEAKER_03: Oh, I'm fascinated by the making.
- 42:51SPEAKER_02: As an expression of total devotion.
- 42:54SPEAKER_02: This is dead serious there.
- 42:56SPEAKER_02: To the pug.
- 42:58SPEAKER_02: So the 18th century was filled with pantaloon-clad ladies and gents lining up to become mops, which apparently is the German word for pug.
- 43:07SPEAKER_02: Nico, back me up there.
- 43:09SPEAKER_02: The mysterious members of the mops order, in layman's terms, that's Order of the Pug.
- 43:15SPEAKER_02: So, what were Pugs doing at the forefront of a fringe Catholic Masonic society?
- 43:20SPEAKER_02: For one, this wasn't the first time our squishy-face friends became a highbrow society craze.
- 43:26SPEAKER_02: Chinese emperors had always loved them, and everyone from Voltaire to Queen Victoria was known to be a fan.
- 43:34SPEAKER_02: When King William III shook up the British Parliament in 1688, his pug and the breed in general became an emblem for free thinking and loyalty.
- 43:45SPEAKER_02: Owning a pug became a subtle way of showing solidarity with England's revolution without landing yourself in the dungeons.
- 43:53SPEAKER_02: As a secret symbol for a fiercely loyal society of Masons, the pug was actually quite appropriate.
- 44:00SPEAKER_02: It began in Germany in the 18th century.
- 44:03SPEAKER_03: Of course it did.
- 44:04SPEAKER_03: I love you, you Germans.
- 44:06SPEAKER_02: You fucking Mad Hardy, the great Dowardi.
- 44:09SPEAKER_02: When Roman Catholics were forbidden to join the Masons by Pope Clement XII.
- 44:13SPEAKER_02: Remember them?
- 44:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 44:15SPEAKER_02: The order was founded by those who couldn't get into Pope Clement XII's Masonic crew.
- 44:21SPEAKER_02: So surely the mop the mops were a troop of societal misfits.
- 44:26SPEAKER_02: Initiates were required to wear dog collars.
- 44:30SPEAKER_02: Sorry, sorry.
- 44:31SPEAKER_02: Gained entry to meetings by scratching at a door and were guided into a ceremony in which they circled the room nine times.
- 44:42SPEAKER_02: Barked off Memento Mori.
- 44:45SPEAKER_03: I've got that to talk about it.
- 44:46SPEAKER_02: And Chris and kissed the grand pug's bottom.
- 44:50SPEAKER_03: So the grand pug is a dog, it's not an easy dog.
- 44:53SPEAKER_02: No, so that's so fucking dogly.
- 44:54SPEAKER_02: To pledge their allegiance.
- 44:56SPEAKER_02: When news broke of the order in 1745, the society went to trial and was subsequently and was subsequently outlawed a few years later.
- 45:06SPEAKER_02: Although, according to German authorities, there was still some practice in mops in Lyon in 1902.
- 45:14SPEAKER_03: Oh, that recent?
- 45:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 45:16SPEAKER_03: So imagine being the grand pug then, having your arse hell kissed.
- 45:21SPEAKER_03: That's a very happy dog.
- 45:23SPEAKER_03: Oh, the dog's bumholes, so I hope they give her a little wipe first.
- 45:28SPEAKER_03: At least pugs haven't got one of them really, really fairy bumholes.
- 45:32SPEAKER_02: No.
- 45:33SPEAKER_03: Like our Brillow, Labrador, big fairy bumhole.
- 45:37SPEAKER_03: So if you had a case of the shits and it dried around his bumhole, it was a nightmare.
- 45:42SPEAKER_03: Oh god.
- 45:43SPEAKER_03: Right, remind me to tell you about this in a minute about Brillo and his bum.
- 45:46SPEAKER_03: Anyway.
- 45:47SPEAKER_03: So the grand pug, I don't so the pug back in the day was like it was it was very highly regarded.
- 45:55SPEAKER_03: The queen has one at status symbol.
- 45:58SPEAKER_03: And so the this Masonic order took the pug because it was highly regarded.
- 46:04SPEAKER_03: It was like, I just wonder why the honor kissed the arsehole of a dog though.
- 46:08SPEAKER_03: Stroke the dog, take the dog for a walk, give the dog a crown, give the dog a nice little bed to sit on.
- 46:14SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 46:14SPEAKER_03: Why do you have to kiss the arsehole of a pug?
- 46:16SPEAKER_02: It's it's fucking lot, isn't it?
- 46:19SPEAKER_03: There's some of the stuff we've done over the years, you know.
- 46:22SPEAKER_03: It's so questionable.
- 46:24SPEAKER_03: Would you kiss the arsehole of a pug?
- 46:26SPEAKER_02: No.
- 46:27SPEAKER_03: No.
- 46:28SPEAKER_03: What if, right?
- 46:30SPEAKER_03: What if?
- 46:30SPEAKER_03: Part of this Masonic Order.
- 46:33SPEAKER_03: It says, so it's a secret society, and once you've kissed the arsehole of the pug, this will open the door to stuff that nobody out the outside knows anything about.
- 46:44SPEAKER_03: It's only once you're in the society.
- 46:47SPEAKER_03: It could be riches, it could be fucking fornication, it could be anything, anything, but you don't know until you've kissed the arsehole of the pug.
- 46:58SPEAKER_03: Would you kiss the arsehole of the pug?
- 47:00SPEAKER_02: I just had a little thought, Race.
- 47:02SPEAKER_02: So imagine cast your mind back and you're about to be initiated into the order.
- 47:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 47:07SPEAKER_02: And there's like four or five, you say, and they bring it all in, and it's like, you know, give it all the spiel and all that, and it's like, okay, so like the last the last part of joy in the ceremony is it you've got to kiss the dog on the ass.
- 47:22SPEAKER_02: Wouldn't you all just be sort of stood there going?
- 47:24SPEAKER_02: Oh, you take the piss out.
- 47:26SPEAKER_02: They take the piss.
- 47:27SPEAKER_02: I'm hoping it doesn't pick me first.
- 47:34SPEAKER_03: A dog's like that, slipping a tenner.
- 47:40SPEAKER_02: Oh my looking at me first in the gone.
- 47:44SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 47:45SPEAKER_02: Pucking enough.
- 47:47SPEAKER_02: With tongues.
- 47:50SPEAKER_03: I wonder if there's a stipulation, whether it was it was just a or whether you have to rim it.
- 47:55SPEAKER_03: Oh because I'm sure back then, I don't know whether rimming would have been a word, so pucker might have been a general term for analingus.
- 48:14SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 48:17SPEAKER_03: But I don't know, Rice.
- 48:19SPEAKER_03: So let's say it was it was known that everybody does have to kiss the arsehole of the pug.
- 48:24SPEAKER_03: It's not just a joke, it's not as an initiation that no, it's not real.
- 48:28SPEAKER_03: You know, and you know that in order to unlock the secrets, you've gotta kiss the dog's arsehole.
- 48:36SPEAKER_03: There'd be some of us who'd be like, I've gotta know.
- 48:38SPEAKER_03: I've gotta know what's on the other side of that door.
- 48:41SPEAKER_02: So I'd want to see someone else doing it first, so you wasn't mad.
- 48:47SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 48:48SPEAKER_02: I never considered it.
- 48:49SPEAKER_03: Would you?
- 48:50SPEAKER_03: So you wouldn't be a trailblazer, you wouldn't be the person going first, like, come on, I'm gonna do it first.
- 48:56SPEAKER_02: I I don't know.
- 48:59SPEAKER_03: I wonder if Jimmy would.
- 49:01SPEAKER_02: We'll ask him in a bit.
- 49:02SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 49:03SPEAKER_03: Interesting.
- 49:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 49:05SPEAKER_03: Would you kiss the arse of a pug if you're if there was gonna be secrets and fortunes possibly unlocked at the other side of the door?
- 49:13SPEAKER_02: I'm not sure.
- 49:15SPEAKER_03: So there's a price on this arcell kissing.
- 49:20SPEAKER_03: See, there's always a price, folks.
- 49:23SPEAKER_03: And he's got a price.
- 49:24SPEAKER_02: 50 quid.
- 49:26SPEAKER_03: Fucking hell! Well, I've never heard of the uh order of the pug.
- 49:35SPEAKER_03: Thank you very, very much.
- 49:35SPEAKER_02: Well, you love now.
- 49:39SPEAKER_03: Right then, so I'm gonna move on to a lady lobosomy.
- 49:44SPEAKER_00: Oh keys.
- 49:46SPEAKER_03: Hang on, I'm on the wrong thing, hang on.
- 49:49SPEAKER_03: So this lazy lobosomy, um, I was going to do my own segments, but it's sort of a segment, so I'm gonna have like a little bit of a chat around it.
- 49:57SPEAKER_03: So I thought I'd tell a lady lobosomy and then have a little chat.
- 50:00SPEAKER_03: Not to run on a little bit, but it's okay.
- 50:02SPEAKER_03: There's no always be another extended version.
- 50:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 50:06SPEAKER_03: So, dear lazy lobosomy.
- 50:09SPEAKER_03: I have recently been in a horrible position.
- 50:13SPEAKER_03: I was involved in a road accident where I was knocked off my bike, push bike.
- 50:18SPEAKER_03: Do you call it a push bike?
- 50:20SPEAKER_02: No.
- 50:20SPEAKER_03: I just got a bike.
- 50:22SPEAKER_03: And needed some minor hospital treatment.
- 50:24SPEAKER_03: A doctor and nurse were giving me a once over.
- 50:27SPEAKER_03: Sounds disgusting, this a horrible position a once over.
- 50:31SPEAKER_03: Doctor and nurse had given me a once over and noticed a lot of bruising and marks across my bussocks and thighs.
- 50:38SPEAKER_03: I'd completely forgotten about this due to the stress of the accident.
- 50:42SPEAKER_03: So when they gave me concerned looks, I thought I'd injured myself more in the accident.
- 50:47SPEAKER_03: They asked me if I wanted to talk about the bruising and marks, which it obviously weren't from the accident and if I was in danger.
- 50:53SPEAKER_02: Oh, I wonder where they were from.
- 50:56SPEAKER_03: My stomach dropped.
- 50:57SPEAKER_03: These were marks from a fantastic BTSM scene I had enjoyed at the weekend, but I didn't really feel ready to discuss the origin.
- 51:04SPEAKER_03: They asked if I had a partner and if our relationship was okay.
- 51:08SPEAKER_03: As an adult, there's obviously not that they can do, and I don't have a partner, so I just finished the conversation there.
- 51:13SPEAKER_03: I now feel that I should have spoken up, but I wouldn't know what to say and how to stop the situation escalating.
- 51:20SPEAKER_03: What would you have advised?
- 51:24SPEAKER_03: So, this was a one that came up a good few weeks ago, and I was gonna do it, and I said, no, I actually want this to be more of a discussion.
- 51:31SPEAKER_03: It's a more discussion subject.
- 51:33SPEAKER_03: This it's a bit too big than just go, yeah, do this, this, and this, I think.
- 51:37SPEAKER_03: Um, as a health professional in your past, did you ever come across anybody like this?
- 51:44SPEAKER_03: No.
- 51:45SPEAKER_03: Okay, so as a midwife, obviously we're very up close and personal, and we get to see parts of the body that other people wouldn't normally see if you're just going for a broken arm or whatever.
- 51:58SPEAKER_03: We saw insides of thighs, backs of legs, all that kind of thing.
- 52:03SPEAKER_03: And we were trained to look out for signs of domestic violence, and often uh there's a massive, massive, sorry to get a bit morbid, but it'll come round massive, massive percentage of domestic violence start in pregnancy, massive, and they often use areas that you can't see.
- 52:20SPEAKER_03: And so, as health professionals, we are trained to look out for these things, and so the doctor and nurse on that day were doing the right thing by questioning these marks.
- 52:30SPEAKER_03: But absolutely, and you know, but we are also well within our rights to not give that information across.
- 52:37SPEAKER_03: It might be it is from domestic violence, but the person's too afraid or not ready to disclose, and all the rest of it.
- 52:43SPEAKER_03: Um, if there was children involved, then the health professionals might have the duty of care to record this information and take it further.
- 52:52SPEAKER_03: This person hasn't got a partner, hasn't got children.
- 52:55SPEAKER_03: So, what would I advise in that situation?
- 52:58SPEAKER_03: It is a personal thing, um, but actually, they might have made a note in your records that these things had been noted on your body.
- 53:07SPEAKER_03: And so the next time you go in for treatment, it might be that somebody might take a closer look at you because it might have been flagged.
- 53:14SPEAKER_03: I know there's some trusts might put like a little like a mark on a file, it might be a coloured DOS, or it could be DV, or it could be something, it could be a word like mocking bird.
- 53:27SPEAKER_03: Um, and it doesn't mean that this person is a victim of, it's just a little bit of a nod to just gently look out for this person.
- 53:35SPEAKER_03: It's not BDIs, it's just I've got I've had some concerns, just keep a little eye, yeah.
- 53:42SPEAKER_03: And there might be in the if you've been to hospital for treatment and these things have been noted, then injuries will have been noted in that file, and it would have been noted if they believed the injuries were associated with the injury you came in with or historical.
- 53:58SPEAKER_03: It's there, and so what I would say to everybody out there, if you did find yourself in this position, I know you're really vulnerable anyway when you're in the hospital, and you know, we get that white coat syndrome and we freeze up and all the rest of it.
- 54:12SPEAKER_03: But if you feel able and you get questioned, try your best to actually disclose what it is.
- 54:18SPEAKER_02: I was gonna say, like, uh I'd just be honest because that's the thing, isn't it?
- 54:24SPEAKER_02: It's like they're gonna be like, oh okay, and and like you say, there would be like you know, a little yeah, you know, I think every system in the NHS has got it.
- 54:33SPEAKER_02: We are we had them for ours, like, do you know what I mean?
- 54:35SPEAKER_02: Where you could just like put like a little patient notice, just be aware of it's attracting attention you don't want when you could just be like, listen, you know what, you're not gonna say nothing because it's patient confidentiality, like, but yeah, I was doing I was doing some kinky shit at the weekend, and yes, yeah, and also you can say um what I'm gonna tell you now, I do not want in my record.
- 54:58SPEAKER_03: So you can say that you're you know I'm disclosing to you that you know I'm aware of the injuries, it was they were fully consensual, but I do not want BDSM fetish in my record.
- 55:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you can state that, you can just say that they were consensual, that's all they need to say.
- 55:13SPEAKER_03: Um, and obviously, you know, you can actually request copies of your records if you are if you're nervous about it.
- 55:19SPEAKER_03: But at the end of the day, I think we're living in a world now where we are a little bit more open-minded.
- 55:25SPEAKER_03: And do you know what?
- 55:26SPEAKER_03: You think you need to have a little bit more um what's the word I'm looking for?
- 55:30SPEAKER_03: Faith in health professionals because we do see a lot, we see all creatures grateful, and without a doubt, somebody's been a nurse, doctor, midwife, whoever, for even a year, probably would have seen somebody with some marks on the body that were questionable, possibly BDSM marks, and we're used to awkward conversations, we really are, and so you know, you if you can try and find the confidence to have the conversation because you might actually find that they're much more open to what you're saying anyway, and they won't go, you know, or pull faces internally.
- 56:05SPEAKER_03: If it's not for them, they might go, you know, but they'll I'm sure they'll try and deal there professionally, and it's the way you put it across as well, you know.
- 56:13SPEAKER_03: That you know, I actually I had a really great time at the weekend.
- 56:16SPEAKER_03: Uh, you haven't got to say where you've been or even all the details, but yeah, I had a great time at the weekend, you know.
- 56:21SPEAKER_03: I've been on the BDSM scene for years, um, and I am the bossom, I I take things, you know, and it's all fully consensual.
- 56:29SPEAKER_03: And these marks, I'm totally okay with them.
- 56:32SPEAKER_03: We discussed it beforehand.
- 56:33SPEAKER_03: My boundaries weren't pushed, but thank you for asking.
- 56:36SPEAKER_03: I really appreciate you asking.
- 56:39SPEAKER_02: And who knows they could be kinking themselves.
- 56:41SPEAKER_03: I don't know whether you've noticed, but over the 15 years I've been running Townhouse and the 20 odd years of the scene, I'd say about one-third at least of the people on the kinky scene and the swinging scene are health professionals.
- 56:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 56:54SPEAKER_02: Hands down, definitely, especially the kinky.
- 56:58SPEAKER_02: That is no words of a lie, but honestly, the amount of people you speak to, yeah, you know, and and you know, obviously, some people, you know, I've I don't think I've ever really had someone go that I can't really tell you.
- 57:10SPEAKER_02: Do you know what I mean?
- 57:12SPEAKER_02: Like the amount, the amount of psycho working.
- 57:14SPEAKER_02: There's so many.
- 57:15SPEAKER_02: There's so many sort of working, yeah, yeah.
- 57:18SPEAKER_02: Working maternity or this, that, and the other.
- 57:20SPEAKER_02: Honest to God, there's loads of and I think it's because you know look at me and you.
- 57:26SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 57:27SPEAKER_03: I mean, even on our team over the years, you know, ex-health professionals, all that, but um our customers, and so you know, you never know, you could be speaking to sort of a doctor or a nurse who's in the lifestyle themselves, and they probably will not disclose that to you.
- 57:42SPEAKER_03: But what you'll find then is that they're a little bit more open and understanding, yeah, and um it'll be a much easier conversation.
- 57:49SPEAKER_03: And even if they're not in the lifestyle, uh, like I say, they've seen and heard a lot.
- 57:54SPEAKER_03: You will not be the first.
- 57:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so you know, please, if you do feel able, share that information.
- 57:59SPEAKER_03: And like I say, you can add the caveat, you know, I do not want BDSM and stuff on my records, and they they can't do it.
- 58:05SPEAKER_02: It's just one of them, isn't it?
- 58:06SPEAKER_02: It's like you know, at the end of the day, you've got patient confidentiality, and the last thing you last thing I would want is to go in and be like, uh, oh, I I don't know, I fell over.
- 58:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know, sort of red flags.
- 58:17SPEAKER_02: Because obviously they're gonna be like, that's tough from falling over, that lad, someone's being out of being like flogging you with some with something there, do you know what I mean?
- 58:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and you don't want to attack that attention when you could just go, you know what, right?
- 58:30SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah, but I mean it's a king, yeah.
- 58:32SPEAKER_02: And you know, yeah.
- 58:34SPEAKER_03: Okay, so I'm gonna disclose something here that happened to me.
- 58:37SPEAKER_03: Uh, really, really, really early on in the hospital as a quite a junior midwife, and this woman came in in really advanced labour, and I didn't have a chance to discuss much with her beforehand because she just like it was like hit and run, basically, she was just in, and her partner was with her, it was lovely, um, I think a mum-in-law or somebody as well, and uh, she had marks on her arm which were consistent with hands, fingers, and they were there like that, and it was literally one, two, three, four, five.
- 59:07SPEAKER_03: Perfect there, and she had them on the other side as well.
- 59:11SPEAKER_03: Um, and you showed the little marks rounded about, but it was that that got me.
- 59:17SPEAKER_03: And um, after delivery and all the rest of it, we were chatting away.
- 59:21SPEAKER_03: Obviously, I'm kinky.
- 59:22SPEAKER_03: It did sort of occur to me, but I I wasn't certain.
- 59:26SPEAKER_03: I was really, really, really junior midwife, so I was on high alert for anything like this.
- 59:30SPEAKER_03: Because when you knew everything's like looking out for everything, you know, trying to be on top of everything.
- 59:35SPEAKER_03: So it didn't occur to me.
- 59:36SPEAKER_03: Anyway, um, she was she was uh trying to breastfeed the baby, and I sort of I've moved the baby and the baby's head hit a bruise on his shoulders.
- 59:45SPEAKER_03: Oh I went, Oh, I've seen you, you've got bruises there.
- 59:48SPEAKER_03: My face went bright red, and um I went, okay.
- 59:52SPEAKER_03: I said we can talk about it if you want.
- 59:55SPEAKER_03: That was it.
- 59:55SPEAKER_03: I thought this is not the time or the place she's trying to breastfeed.
- 59:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_03: Anyway, we got the baby on the boob, and uh it was great, it was a lovely little moment.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_03: And um she saw me like tattoos and everything.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_03: She said, I feel like I can tell you something and you'll understand.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_03: And she said the bruises are you know fully consensual.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_03: She said, Me and my husband have really heavily into BDSM, and she said he got me from behind, and the finger marks were from him restrainer from behind, and she was fighting.
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_03: Um, she said, but it wasn't too rough because obviously I'm pregnant.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah, she said, but he got me from behind because of my belly, and it's like the finger marks.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_03: So I was like, Oh, right, okay.
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_03: And I didn't disclose anything about myself.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_03: So uh I said, Was this like really recent?
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_03: She said, Yeah, is that bad?
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_03: She'd been really heavily pregnant when we were doing this like literally days ago.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_03: She said, I wonder if that's what kicked me off on labour.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_03: And then she said, I should have met that next time from a baby, and I'm like, that go fucking out.
- 1:00:51SPEAKER_03: The baby's like that, and she's talking about the BTSMC show at the weekend.
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_03: But do you know what?
- 1:00:59SPEAKER_03: We're all out there.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_03: Didn't recognise her.
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_03: Didn't recognise her.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_03: But we're everywhere, we are everywhere.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_03: You know, trust your fellow man to receive the information the way it's intended, especially in in you know in the health arena.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we've seen and done it all.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_03: We really, really have.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_03: So I hope that's helped you, but I hope it's helped the rest of you as well, because there's so many kinks out there, and yeah, you will find yourself having to go to the doctors or the hospital or whatever, and uh you might get questioned.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_03: And um, I'm just encouraging you to try and be open.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_02: You just don't know, do you?
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_03: You don't know, you don't know, and you never know, it might open up some really interesting conversations like it did for me that night when the small was breastfeeding.
- 1:01:41SPEAKER_03: Just wasn't expecting it.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_03: Right then, so we're gonna finish off on a little fetish factoid.
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_03: So, do you know El Muffin Man?
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_03: El Muffin Man.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_03: So, do you know what?
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_02: The number 68 is no, but I'm gassing at Links in the 69.
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_02: It does somehow.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_03: It does.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_02: But you don't know, but it's all now.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_03: So I'd love to demonstrate, but the room isn't big enough.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_03: So a 69 is like when you're both getting pleasured at the same time.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_03: If you're that good, you know, you can both get pleasure.
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_03: Some people don't don't like 69s because you concentrate on your partner more than what you receive, and yeah, and you don't have that problem.
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_03: Anyway, a 68 is when you're in the position or in a position, but only one person is being pleasured.
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_03: And when I saw it, it's uh it looked like it's interesting, and I might try it.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_03: So the person giving is lying on their back.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_03: I'm just gonna move my mic.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_03: On their back.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_02: Person giving.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_03: Giving.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_03: They're on their back, on the floor or whatever.
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_03: Oh shite.
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_03: Oh, give us an end.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_03: Push back.
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_03: Push back on me.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_03: So they're like that on the floor with the knees up.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah?
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_03: But their back is flat.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_03: So they're flat with the knees up, like that.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_03: And then the person who's receiving will sit on them, uh like on top, with their like back against their knees, sloping down, and then the fanny or the cock or whatever in the mouth.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_03: So the person's like that lying down, and then they're coming down and the other person's lying against their legs.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_03: It's like a seat.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_03: You're looking at me like you don't get me.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_02: That'd fucking hate you now, that's all, wouldn't it?
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_03: Not necessarily, you know, because the position that you didn't so you didn't like a slanted position.
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_03: So if you're lying on against somebody's legs on your back like that.
- 1:03:41SPEAKER_02: Hang on.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_03: Like that.
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_03: You're going to be like that, aren't you?
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but like.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_03: You couldn't do it with a willy.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_02: You'd have to do it with a fan.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_02: That's what I'm saying, like, is that it'd fucking kill you.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_02: I think it is it is a you know, it seems a bit.
- 1:03:57SPEAKER_03: It'd probably break your dick as well.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_03: But it's more, I think it's more for females.
- 1:04:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:04:01SPEAKER_03: So it's just a way of like leaning against your part.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_03: And you're basically just pointing up like that.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it was, yeah.
- 1:04:08SPEAKER_03: I was looking at another position recently, a gay position.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_03: I was looking at a gay position recently, and I was like, that can't that break your dick.
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_03: Surely it'd break your dick.
- 1:04:17SPEAKER_03: But I could see how this would work with a female.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_03: If you think about your legs there, yeah, and a female lying like that, and the fandango then is like aiming towards your face, it's just like you get it, yeah?
- 1:04:35SPEAKER_03: That's what a 68 is.
- 1:04:37SPEAKER_03: So yeah, it's like it's like a um a team effort.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_02: It seems like a lot of efforts for something that could be done, just so much easier.
- 1:04:46SPEAKER_03: You see, some of these positions I think is just so you can tick it off your karma sutra.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah, done that because you can't maintain that for long, and also you're gonna be sitting on the person's stomach, so you're gonna have to push a little bit.
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_03: So it's just a bit of effort, really.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_03: I think it's just it's a little bit of kink, isn't it?
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_03: Let's try the 68.
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_02: It's just easier ways of doing the same thing as well.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_03: I'd rather have a 69 because at least then you're both getting a bit of pleasure, yeah.
- 1:05:10SPEAKER_03: Aren't you?
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_02: Very strange.
- 1:05:12SPEAKER_03: So that's the 68, and Andy's just not on board at all.
- 1:05:16SPEAKER_02: Seems like a lot of fucking asshole for something that could be done in an easier way.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:20SPEAKER_03: And also, I quite like to do this for a while, and I just don't think it can be maintained for a while because like opening yourself up.
- 1:05:27SPEAKER_02: You'd need like you'd need like some kind of support.
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_03: Just get a queen stool like we've got.
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_03: Right, we're gonna tell you all the story, Jimmy's gonna kill me.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_03: But you know, our sex life is right across the world now on 142 fucking episodes now.
- 1:05:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_03: Actually, one of Jimmy's friends said to him, he said, How'd you feel about the whole of your sex life on the across the world at a podcast?
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_03: He went, It's like closed the gate after the horse is bolted now, really, isn't it?
- 1:05:55SPEAKER_03: Uh and then also we got I've got to talk about another future episode, we got this commerce uh.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_03: Not a karma suit trip, fucking uh tantric couch.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_03: And somebody at the party the other day said, um, how are you getting on with your tantric couch?
- 1:06:08SPEAKER_03: And he said, I'm sure you'll hear all about on the podcast.
- 1:06:15SPEAKER_03: So, what I was gonna tell you before we finish off.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_03: So, we've got a queen and stool.
- 1:06:21SPEAKER_03: Do you know what a queen and stool is?
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_03: May you own a swingers club?
- 1:06:26SPEAKER_03: No.
- 1:06:27SPEAKER_03: So it's like a low-down stool, it looks like a toilet.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_02: Oh, I know what you mean.
- 1:06:32SPEAKER_03: So it's like it's like a half stool, it's normally cushioned with like a gap in the middle.
- 1:06:37SPEAKER_03: This has got like a sling underneath it for your head.
- 1:06:40SPEAKER_02: I know where it's going to be now, yeah.
- 1:06:42SPEAKER_03: So um your giving partner will lie on their back and put the head on the sling, which can be adjusted for height.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_03: So if your flaps don't hang down too far, then they can lift themselves up.
- 1:06:53SPEAKER_03: And then the receiver will sit on the seat and you know the bits will hang down, but they'll stretch out a little bit as well, and they've got full range.
- 1:07:01SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:07:03SPEAKER_03: So because we're a pair of kinky bastards, Jimmy's gonna kill me.
- 1:07:06SPEAKER_03: Jimmy's gonna kill me.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_03: And the kids watch us, but you know, he used to it.
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_03: So we've got our queen stool positioned in front of a massive like seven-foot mirror.
- 1:07:16SPEAKER_03: We have a big mirror in in the room.
- 1:07:18SPEAKER_03: I just happened to be there.
- 1:07:20SPEAKER_03: But we also use this mirror as a piece of kiss because you know we haven't got loads of BTSM kits in in the house.
- 1:07:25SPEAKER_03: We've got we've got our tantric couch of the queen and stool.
- 1:07:28SPEAKER_03: So we've got these like sucker handles on the mirror.
- 1:07:31SPEAKER_03: So if I'm getting beaten, I can hold on to the handles like like a cross.
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah?
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_03: So the suckers can be moved up onto there, so I can hold on to it while I'm getting beaten.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:07:40SPEAKER_03: So we've moved the suckers down.
- 1:07:42SPEAKER_03: So while I'm on the queen stool, I can hold on.
