- 0:00Speaker 1: We'll start Toyota Presents Off the Bench with Jacob Hester
- 0:03Speaker 1: and Matt Flynn.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Let's go from a championship backfield to your morning driven'sday.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Hester and Hester got.
- 0:11Speaker 4: A fat pa.
- 0:12Speaker 1: You're locked in to off the Bench to troll live
- 0:20Speaker 1: from the Mercedes Benz of Baton Rouge Studio. Here's Jacob
- 0:23Speaker 1: Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:57Speaker 5: Wait, what's wrong with your mic?
- 1:00Speaker 2: Well, that Mike's terrible, But.
- 1:02Speaker 5: No, Jake's Mike.
- 1:04Speaker 2: It's not it, Mike check.
- 1:09Speaker 5: He's like the most TV thing that's ever happened.
- 1:11Speaker 6: Oh yeah, that wasn't your fault. It was actually this
- 1:19Speaker 6: Mike's fault because my mic fell out, knocked his cough
- 1:22Speaker 6: thing off, unplugged it. So it's a roundabout way to
- 1:26Speaker 6: say it was your fault, roundabout way saying this mic
- 1:29Speaker 6: is terrible.
- 1:29Speaker 7: Right before the show, he goes, let's make radio magic.
- 1:32Speaker 2: We did it. That doesn't happen too often, it doesn't.
- 1:37Speaker 5: And also threw me off.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Yeah me too, because he was a little late off mine. Yeah.
- 1:41Speaker 8: This TV volume is turned up again, so we can
- 1:45Speaker 8: definitely hear ourselves talking.
- 1:46Speaker 7: So that might be because we lost power yesterday during a
- 1:51Speaker 7: f r which was fun.
- 1:54Speaker 5: So that might be why you're hearing the audio out.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Of the TV lost.
- 1:58Speaker 5: I guess it was kind of story a little bit.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Oh, it was a little rain.
- 2:02Speaker 5: I mean there was some heavy lightning.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Okay, sad.
- 2:07Speaker 8: So unplugged microphone feedback from the TV back here.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Flynn was out late for the YO.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Good thing.
- 2:16Speaker 8: This is week zero, not week one. Well, that's still
- 2:19Speaker 8: kind of our preseason.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Here.
- 2:21Speaker 6: A microphone is ready right here, but then all of
- 2:23Speaker 6: a sudden, it's got a mind it tone is just
- 2:24Speaker 6: sometimes just swings away, little loose.
- 2:29Speaker 2: The old joints are loose.
- 2:31Speaker 8: Yeah, if we you know, if you see these buttons
- 2:34Speaker 8: up here, you can't see them listeners.
- 2:36Speaker 4: But we have buttons up here.
- 2:37Speaker 2: We have.
- 2:39Speaker 8: A golf button for Mike two, Mike three, that's what
- 2:41Speaker 8: we're on, and a dump button as well. So when
- 2:43Speaker 8: Flynn says the S word like you did not that
- 2:45Speaker 8: long ago, we can hit it and it doesn't go
- 2:47Speaker 8: over air. The problem is those work for about a week. Yeah,
- 2:51Speaker 8: they don't work back in twenty eighteen. If you hit
- 2:54Speaker 8: it now, I'm pretty sure the dump button will take
- 2:57Speaker 8: us all off air, Lisa.
- 3:00Speaker 2: That's what they told us, right, it's gonna take us
- 3:02Speaker 2: off air.
- 3:04Speaker 8: So we've had these huge, cough drop boxes up here
- 3:08Speaker 8: that take up a lot of space get knocked down
- 3:10Speaker 8: daily by multiple people.
- 3:12Speaker 4: And you can see Flynn's holding his up there overhead.
- 3:15Speaker 8: Yeah, instead of just maybe I don't know, fixing the buttons.
- 3:22Speaker 6: That would be smart. It's an electrical wire though. It's tough.
- 3:27Speaker 8: I don't know who you call right call him, I'll
- 3:32Speaker 8: call him. I'll text them electrical shoot him. They're worried
- 3:37Speaker 8: about generators right now. Gulf of America's heating up. Yeah,
- 3:41Speaker 8: I'll send him a voice message. I like a good
- 3:44Speaker 8: voice message.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Do you do you voice message?
- 3:47Speaker 4: Certain people?
- 3:49Speaker 2: Are you eighty?
- 3:50Speaker 5: It's my voice message all the time.
- 3:52Speaker 4: It's mainly.
- 3:55Speaker 8: Our foot our old NFL teammate football group chats.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Situation. Okay, why do you did.
- 4:02Speaker 4: You get real redneck when you get in there? You
- 4:04Speaker 4: just you know, I'm already got some most tendencies.
- 4:07Speaker 2: But you don't like it. I don't know.
- 4:10Speaker 6: I just never like really thought about the voice text.
- 4:12Speaker 6: I just kind of tied it so much easier, all right, I.
- 4:16Speaker 7: Guess, especially if you're saying something that needs a lot
- 4:20Speaker 7: of explanation, or if it's like a long story.
- 4:24Speaker 5: I voice a voice message all the time.
- 4:27Speaker 6: What they say, I feel was easy. Everybody would do it.
- 4:30Speaker 6: I don't do it.
- 4:31Speaker 4: I can't wait to send you a voice message.
- 4:35Speaker 6: So it's like, see, all right, So okay, we're talking
- 4:38Speaker 6: about like voice, like recorded voice.
- 4:40Speaker 2: We're not talking about like I.
- 4:41Speaker 6: Do the type both. What do you call that speech
- 4:45Speaker 6: like when you speak it?
- 4:47Speaker 2: Right?
- 4:48Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 4:48Speaker 2: I think, yeah, I got it, all right.
- 4:52Speaker 5: I'm pretty sure that it really is what it is.
- 4:54Speaker 5: I don't do that, but I voiced Okay.
- 4:56Speaker 2: That's what I was saying, Like, that's what if you're eighty,
- 4:58Speaker 2: you do that?
- 4:59Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 5:00Speaker 2: Aying wrong with that?
- 5:00Speaker 7: I do bo That's yeah, that's an that's an older
- 5:05Speaker 7: tendency to do the text to talk.
- 5:08Speaker 2: All right.
- 5:08Speaker 8: I'm forty, guys, I'm old. I told you it took
- 5:13Speaker 8: me a good minute to get up here.
- 5:14Speaker 2: From this story. It is like the New thirty eight.
- 5:18Speaker 4: It's just a way, you know, just quickly get your
- 5:21Speaker 4: message in.
- 5:22Speaker 6: I don't you did look whipped when you walked through
- 5:24Speaker 6: that door. You looked like those stairs whipped your tail.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:28Speaker 4: I wasn't just the stairs just getting out of the car.
- 5:31Speaker 7: Time stairs whipped me this morning too, and the car
- 5:36Speaker 7: did just getting.
- 5:38Speaker 2: You work out a lot.
- 5:40Speaker 5: Yes, in the morning.
- 5:41Speaker 2: You get the blood flow going.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Uh, people inside to bue for chat. Let me know.
- 5:47Speaker 8: Is it an old man tendency to the voice voice
- 5:52Speaker 8: text say fella hey.
- 5:55Speaker 6: Okay, maybe not that maybe not the recorded part I'm
- 5:58Speaker 6: talking about that where you speaking and it types it
- 6:00Speaker 6: out for you and then you have to like say
- 6:02Speaker 6: exclamation mark period.
- 6:05Speaker 8: Oh if I'm driving, question mark. So basically, don't get
- 6:09Speaker 8: in the car with you.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Oh no, I'm safe. It can wait.
- 6:17Speaker 6: You listen to the slogan absolutely, I'm tuned into talk
- 6:21Speaker 6: radio and I'm in driving around.
- 6:26Speaker 2: M or audio books?
- 6:33Speaker 4: Can you smell colors?
- 6:37Speaker 5: Do you dream in cartoons?
- 6:41Speaker 8: I don't know, man, Yeah, so you know, I sorting
- 6:45Speaker 8: think you can. That's a good audio book you've listened
- 6:51Speaker 8: to lately.
- 6:53Speaker 2: From finishing up the last book in the Terminal List series?
- 6:58Speaker 8: Jack Carr, Oh, yeah, it's great with another season of
- 7:02Speaker 8: that on on the Old two?
- 7:03Speaker 6: Are they are they really? I was wondering that is
- 7:05Speaker 6: it gonna be? What's Chris Pratt? He's he coming back?
- 7:07Speaker 6: It's a prequel? Oh, which is the first one?
- 7:09Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 7:10Speaker 6: That means I couldn't sign him. No, he's in it too,
- 7:13Speaker 6: is he? Yeah, he's in it. It's just a prequel.
- 7:15Speaker 6: I don't think there's that, so that's gonna go off book.
- 7:18Speaker 6: So there's not a book out there that's a prequel.
- 7:20Speaker 6: It all starts with the terminal List and everything's afterwards.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Uh uh uh huh. They're really good.
- 7:27Speaker 6: They're really kind of scary too, like what you think
- 7:29Speaker 6: about because it takes like actual things that are happening
- 7:32Speaker 6: in the world, actual current events, and like basically talks
- 7:35Speaker 6: about that from a military Navy seal standpoint, talks about Aiah,
- 7:42Speaker 6: talks about China. So it takes all the stuff. It
- 7:48Speaker 6: makes the storyline that's like, yeah, this gut actually happen
- 7:50Speaker 6: and it's pretty terrifying. Yeah, but he's there to say today.
- 7:54Speaker 6: James Reith.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Yeah, a great show. That's very good.
- 7:58Speaker 8: Let's see you got some activity here in the chat,
- 8:02Speaker 8: bram Bo.
- 8:03Speaker 4: I'm I'm trying to find where your original question was.
- 8:07Speaker 8: All right, folks say this is BK's best roster. The
- 8:11Speaker 8: twenty twenty three roster had four first round picks on offense.
- 8:16Speaker 8: Who outside of Nuts and maybe Cayden, are the four
- 8:19Speaker 8: first rounders on this offense brand Bo. I'll remind you
- 8:22Speaker 8: about this, just like I talked about with recruiting rankings.
- 8:27Speaker 8: First round picks are awesome. It tells you you know
- 8:29Speaker 8: a lot about talent. For sure. Two thousand and six
- 8:34Speaker 8: we had four first rounders. Two thousand and seven we
- 8:37Speaker 8: had won. Two thousand and six won a Sugar Bowl,
- 8:40Speaker 8: and seven won a national championship. So it doesn't mean
- 8:46Speaker 8: maybe the high end talent, but in the totality of
- 8:50Speaker 8: a roster, it can still be more talented from top
- 8:54Speaker 8: to bottom, from one to eleven, from one to twenty two.
- 8:58Speaker 8: That's I think what people are talking about, because we
- 9:01Speaker 8: had Jimmies and Joe's and six you had JaMarcus, you
- 9:03Speaker 8: had larn, you had Deebo, you had Buster. You just
- 9:07Speaker 8: had Putt. If I'm not mistaken, in O seven right,
- 9:10Speaker 8: first round pick, so I think it goes Glenn, and
- 9:16Speaker 8: then I think I was the next one. And I
- 9:18Speaker 8: think no Chevis. Chevis was the pick before me. He
- 9:21Speaker 8: was sixty eight. I think I was sixty nine. I
- 9:23Speaker 8: think Early was right after us all in the third round.
- 9:27Speaker 8: So Jason was the next year, right, Tyson was the
- 9:29Speaker 8: next year. So I mean I get what you're saying,
- 9:33Speaker 8: but also I think the talent is spread amongst the
- 9:37Speaker 8: entire team, where that team that you're talking about, you
- 9:40Speaker 8: had super high end talent, but from you know, one
- 9:45Speaker 8: to twenty two or one to thirty of the guys
- 9:47Speaker 8: that were going to play that wasn't maybe the same situation.
- 9:51Speaker 6: Well, he had one of the worst defenses in the country,
- 9:54Speaker 6: a historically bad defense, So you can't. I mean, it
- 9:57Speaker 6: doesn't matter if you had ten first rounders in the
- 10:00Speaker 6: on the offensive side the ball that year, you still
- 10:02Speaker 6: would have had the same record because we scored at
- 10:05Speaker 6: a clip that all that was dang near ninety percent,
- 10:09Speaker 6: probably every time we touched the ball at certain points
- 10:12Speaker 6: during the season. So like when they say it's the
- 10:13Speaker 6: best roster, we would probably sit here and agree with
- 10:17Speaker 6: you because this is the year where there are no
- 10:19Speaker 6: more excuses for Brian Brian Kelly and that staff of
- 10:24Speaker 6: why if you don't make the playoffs. There are no
- 10:26Speaker 6: because they have filled in all the gaps that had
- 10:28Speaker 6: been question marks, So all the weak parts that we've had,
- 10:31Speaker 6: all the things that we've had to overcome from a
- 10:34Speaker 6: coaching standpoint and a schematic standpoint, and the woes that
- 10:38Speaker 6: we faced with the Matt House project, those have all
- 10:42Speaker 6: been at least on paper and what we think have
- 10:45Speaker 6: been rectified. And we from top to bottom from the
- 10:49Speaker 6: entire when you look at all eleven players on defense,
- 10:52Speaker 6: all eleven players on offense, from top to bottom, there
- 10:56Speaker 6: are way less weaknesses than he's had.
- 11:02Speaker 8: And like, well, Branbo's like, well, both teams went ten
- 11:04Speaker 8: and two O six and O seven. He said, I
- 11:06Speaker 8: believe six COBEATO seven. Hey, Brandbo. The crazy part about it,
- 11:09Speaker 8: as I was just starting running back on both those team,
- 11:11Speaker 8: how are we going to do that? So I don't know,
- 11:14Speaker 8: We're going to be in two places at one time.
- 11:16Speaker 8: Be tough. Defense two thousand and seven defense was so nasty,
- 11:23Speaker 8: so nasty, and like, I know who's on six as well,
- 11:29Speaker 8: I'm not getting I'm I'm you can just kindly disagree
- 11:34Speaker 8: with that there, h And also ten and two was
- 11:36Speaker 8: the record that it took to win a national championship
- 11:38Speaker 8: in O seven, it wasn't in No.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Six.
- 11:41Speaker 8: Everybody in the country had losses. Not in regulation for
- 11:45Speaker 8: us though. Remind people about that.
- 11:49Speaker 4: The whole point is count you lose four first round picks.
- 11:53Speaker 8: But just like seven with this one, like from top
- 11:56Speaker 8: to bottom, I feel like like you had more talent.
- 11:59Speaker 8: Like another thing, like our quarterback in seven. Sure he
- 12:05Speaker 8: smells colors, but he played almost a decade in the NFL,
- 12:09Speaker 8: So like we could have, I could. I could bring
- 12:13Speaker 8: up a lot of different arguments on this, like over
- 12:16Speaker 8: and over and over again. The whole point is when
- 12:18Speaker 8: people say that, that's why they say it because Taylor,
- 12:23Speaker 8: I'll throw this to you.
- 12:23Speaker 4: You go to practice more than any of us.
- 12:26Speaker 8: Are they more talented at safety this year than they
- 12:28Speaker 8: were in twenty twenty three?
- 12:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I would say so.
- 12:32Speaker 4: Are they better overall at linebacker?
- 12:35Speaker 2: Yes? Definitely.
- 12:36Speaker 4: What about I like.
- 12:38Speaker 6: Your point you made the other day about the safeties,
- 12:39Speaker 6: Like the guys that are guys.
- 12:41Speaker 9: Back up the guys you had to start last year,
- 12:44Speaker 9: Like Jardon Gilbert's not even playing safety anymore. That's how
- 12:47Speaker 9: deep you are. He started every game at safety four
- 12:49Speaker 9: a year ago. So the guys that are backing up
- 12:53Speaker 9: this year are the guys we had to rely on
- 12:55Speaker 9: last year. Yep, which is which is Great's got the experience,
- 12:57Speaker 9: but that also means we've brought in more talent at
- 13:00Speaker 9: those positions.
- 13:02Speaker 8: And look, I think because of who you've brought in,
- 13:06Speaker 8: the expectation has gone up, and also the pressure has
- 13:09Speaker 8: gone up, Like it's a good problem to have to
- 13:13Speaker 8: be able to have the conversation of is this the
- 13:15Speaker 8: most talented roster that this coaching staff has had, which
- 13:18Speaker 8: they've said it. It's been the coaches who have said
- 13:21Speaker 8: it and a lot of media members. That means that
- 13:25Speaker 8: the expectation should go up. So you can be angry
- 13:28Speaker 8: if they don't have a successful season.
- 13:30Speaker 4: You should be angry.
- 13:33Speaker 8: They went out and they put a lot of resources
- 13:35Speaker 8: into this roster. They went and tried to find where
- 13:39Speaker 8: they were deficient, and they tried to add as much
- 13:42Speaker 8: as they possibly could. Right, you lost a tight end
- 13:45Speaker 8: in the second round, you go add two tight ends.
- 13:48Speaker 8: You go lose an offensive lineman early in the first round,
- 13:53Speaker 8: and in fact you ended up losing four. And you
- 13:55Speaker 8: go and you bring multiple offensive linemen in. You had
- 13:59Speaker 8: to upgrade the safe position, right, you upgraded at the
- 14:02Speaker 8: corner position. You didn't got multiple corners out of the portal.
- 14:07Speaker 8: You went and got some defensive tackles. Like you where
- 14:10Speaker 8: you lost, you tried they.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Did what they had to do.
- 14:14Speaker 6: If they didn't do those things, there would be a
- 14:16Speaker 6: lot of questions because you knew the pieces you had
- 14:19Speaker 6: coming back on offense. So they went out into the
- 14:22Speaker 6: off after the season, they went to the off season
- 14:24Speaker 6: and into the portal and didn't hit, Like we would
- 14:27Speaker 6: be having a lot different conversation about right now about
- 14:30Speaker 6: like the like it was a different type of pressure
- 14:33Speaker 6: that the staff would be feeling.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Right now.
- 14:35Speaker 6: Now there's pressure now because you got the pieces. This
- 14:38Speaker 6: is the good pressure. Like if that didn't happen, if
- 14:40Speaker 6: you didn't go get sure of safety edge wresser, like
- 14:44Speaker 6: all these like if you didn't do that, yeah, like
- 14:47Speaker 6: we'd be talking about like what are we doing? Yeah,
- 14:50Speaker 6: but like now you did all the right things. You
- 14:51Speaker 6: did the right things, you got your defensive coordinator, and
- 14:54Speaker 6: now like now the pressure is all good. Like you
- 15:00Speaker 6: a lot to lose if you don't hit those marks.
- 15:02Speaker 6: But this is what you come to LSU for. This
- 15:04Speaker 6: is what Scott makes a really good point of the
- 15:07Speaker 6: chat too, like which team had a better star oh
- 15:13Speaker 6: six or seven? Oh yeah, who's better at that star position?
- 15:17Speaker 2: Uh?
- 15:18Speaker 8: Actually, actually you're trying to be funny, you're trying to
- 15:21Speaker 8: we actually had one that was kind of a star
- 15:24Speaker 8: Harry Coleman.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Well, I can't remember. Mm hmmm, I don't know.
- 15:30Speaker 4: He played safety in linebacker?
- 15:37Speaker 2: What'd you say, who's the safety? Hey, Harry, what position
- 15:40Speaker 2: you play?
- 15:43Speaker 4: Mm hmm, well shoe.
- 15:48Speaker 2: All right?
- 15:49Speaker 9: Talking yourself, actually thinking a Harry Coleman started at linebacker
- 15:55Speaker 9: next season?
- 15:56Speaker 2: Change positions, all right? Cool.
- 16:00Speaker 6: It's like saying, oh, last year I played left guard,
- 16:02Speaker 6: this year, I'm playing right guard.
- 16:04Speaker 2: You didn't play star guard.
- 16:06Speaker 8: The best of all the things that we talk about,
- 16:11Speaker 8: all the foolishness that we have here, when I'm out
- 16:14Speaker 8: in the wild this week, the one thing people want
- 16:17Speaker 8: to talk about is the star position.
- 16:19Speaker 2: That's it. That's it, because we talk about a.
- 16:21Speaker 5: Lot of the bush touch.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Shockingly chockingly, not the bush toes.
- 16:27Speaker 6: We talk about a lot of dumb things and a
- 16:29Speaker 6: lot of smart things too. But you know, I just
- 16:32Speaker 6: don't understand when people try to like make football like
- 16:37Speaker 6: harder than this, sound more educated, like they say things
- 16:41Speaker 6: that just sound really cool when talking about a simple thing.
- 16:46Speaker 2: And so what makes me passionate?
- 16:51Speaker 6: Who There's only so many places in line up, there's
- 16:54Speaker 6: only so many body types, there's only so many positions
- 16:57Speaker 6: on the football field. I don't have to make anything up.
- 17:00Speaker 6: You know, over one hundred years after football started and
- 17:06Speaker 6: try to normalize it.
- 17:07Speaker 8: I love my guy Brambo. He's always in the chat.
- 17:11Speaker 8: He is really wanting to have this conversation. He just
- 17:14Speaker 8: put Laron Landry's name in the chat. Lron was a dog.
- 17:18Speaker 8: What's crazy is the first round pick? Well, it's crazy
- 17:21Speaker 8: though he got replaced.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Safety out of LSU.
- 17:24Speaker 8: You got replaced the next year by an All American
- 17:28Speaker 8: and Craig stollns So I was like, we can run
- 17:31Speaker 8: in the circle. Craig played seven years in the NFL.
- 17:34Speaker 8: So anyways, we love you, Brambo, and thanks for the
- 17:37Speaker 8: conversation starter.
- 17:38Speaker 4: We appreciate that.
- 17:40Speaker 8: We'll take a break and get this thing started when
- 17:42Speaker 8: we come back on one O four five.
- 17:44Speaker 4: ESPN ban route off the bench.
- 17:48Speaker 8: Craig, you might have got eight years. I don't remember.
- 17:50Speaker 8: I think seven. Central Plumbing at dot org. You don't
- 17:53Speaker 8: want to You don't want to short any NFL player

- 19:50Speaker 6: Eleven Who sings it?
- 19:56Speaker 2: Who is this?
- 19:58Speaker 5: I just looked up Josey in.
- 19:59Speaker 7: This is like there's somebody else I don't know featuring.
- 20:05Speaker 5: The feature doesn't say it's featuring anybody.
- 20:08Speaker 4: I guess back then you just kind of had some
- 20:10Speaker 4: backup vocals.
- 20:10Speaker 8: Yeah, you know, they do like they do like a
- 20:12Speaker 8: little dance and then they found their way back to
- 20:14Speaker 8: the microphone.
- 20:15Speaker 4: Then they did a little dance a little bit, and you.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Know, like behind the Temptations did not like that.
- 20:19Speaker 4: You know, that was different.
- 20:20Speaker 8: That was like you do a whole like routine spin,
- 20:22Speaker 8: then you found your way back to the microphone. This
- 20:25Speaker 8: is kind of like a backup singer that does like
- 20:27Speaker 8: a small little shimmy because they don't have the moves
- 20:30Speaker 8: of the Temptations stylistics.
- 20:32Speaker 4: But then they find their way back to the microphone.
- 20:34Speaker 4: So shut to the stylistic.
- 20:39Speaker 8: Uh Yo, Jake and Matt curious if y'all have ever
- 20:42Speaker 8: gotten the opportunity to receive a card in either football
- 20:46Speaker 8: game's Ultimate Team.
- 20:47Speaker 4: It's like college football Madden situation.
- 20:51Speaker 2: I don't know, no idea receive the card.
- 20:54Speaker 8: Yeah, like you have like an ultimate team and like
- 20:56Speaker 8: you you buy a pack and it's like like like
- 20:59Speaker 8: we do but in real life, but the pack gets
- 21:01Speaker 8: ripped in your boom car and you can play with
- 21:03Speaker 8: that player.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Oh sweet.
- 21:05Speaker 4: I don't know, but I know. I was in Madden
- 21:07Speaker 4: two years ago.
- 21:09Speaker 8: It was very cool to be there because they it
- 21:12Speaker 8: was before the college game came back out, and there
- 21:15Speaker 8: was like an all LSU team on the Madden and
- 21:18Speaker 8: I was on that and they gave me like six,
- 21:21Speaker 8: six or eight I can't remember free copies of the game.
- 21:24Speaker 8: So like all my boys at the game, and I
- 21:27Speaker 8: thought I did think that the boys thought we're going
- 21:30Speaker 8: to think it was a little bit cooler than they
- 21:32Speaker 8: actually did.
- 21:33Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, yeah, where's Christian McCaffrey.
- 21:38Speaker 6: Did you not have my address or anything? I didn't
- 21:41Speaker 6: get I don't think I got one of those copies.
- 21:44Speaker 8: It was digital actually, so it had been much easier
- 21:46Speaker 8: just to send you the code. Do you even have
- 21:48Speaker 8: a system to place it? I gave t Bob one,
- 21:50Speaker 8: I sure do, do you?
- 21:52Speaker 6: I got so last year about the PS five when
- 21:55Speaker 6: the NCAA football game came out, but I hadn't bought
- 21:58Speaker 6: the new one yet. Trying to contemplate. Yeah, that sound's
- 22:01Speaker 6: kind of about Fortnite right now.
- 22:02Speaker 4: So I gave t bub one.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Well that makes sense.
- 22:07Speaker 8: I don't know they used it, but I gave it
- 22:08Speaker 8: to him.
- 22:10Speaker 2: I feel like he played that game quite a bit,
- 22:12Speaker 2: that's true. But no, I didn't even know what that was.
- 22:17Speaker 2: That'd be cool.
- 22:17Speaker 6: I don't even know if they got a card. Understand,
- 22:21Speaker 6: Jake definitely needs to have one for sure. Not a
- 22:25Speaker 6: lot of fullbacks out there.
- 22:27Speaker 4: Nah uh no.
- 22:28Speaker 8: Nation Today, Hester sent strays to JaMarcus and Laurn announced
- 22:32Speaker 8: that the coming It's not straight. It's letting you know
- 22:35Speaker 8: that just because somebody didn't go in the first round
- 22:38Speaker 8: doesn't mean they weren't a great player. Flint didn't go
- 22:40Speaker 8: to the seventh round. Great player Steuts didn't go to
- 22:43Speaker 8: the fourth round because he he collar.
- 22:46Speaker 4: Bone in the National Championship game.
- 22:48Speaker 8: Either way, great player Craig was like a team captain
- 22:51Speaker 8: for the Chicago Bears. So it's kind of like I
- 22:54Speaker 8: talk about with stars. Don't allow just because you weren't
- 22:57Speaker 8: drafted in a certain round to the fine who you
- 23:00Speaker 8: are as a football player. It's my whole point. So
- 23:03Speaker 8: obviously Jay Russ one of the best to ever do it.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Here.
- 23:06Speaker 6: It's kind of like like which who had the better
- 23:09Speaker 6: high school football team? You know, we'll never know, but
- 23:12Speaker 6: it's fun. It's fun to talk about it, fun to
- 23:14Speaker 6: argue about it. Seven were just full of a bunch
- 23:16Speaker 6: of guys, you know, maybe not as flashy.
- 23:19Speaker 8: I played the same position on both teams, So I'm
- 23:23Speaker 8: not like, yeah, trying to pick one or the other.
- 23:26Speaker 8: I'm just letting it out that seven the talent was
- 23:29Speaker 8: spread differently than it was six.
- 23:31Speaker 6: Yeah, And you got to think, like if I was
- 23:34Speaker 6: the holder for both teams, So like if I I'd
- 23:37Speaker 6: have to go out on the when they when they
- 23:39Speaker 6: score against us the seven team, and I have to
- 23:41Speaker 6: go out and hold, I would watch the hold, I'd
- 23:45Speaker 6: run backwards and throw it in then out of the
- 23:46Speaker 6: end zone for two points for seven. Do you got
- 23:50Speaker 6: to think about those things? Seven was just full of
- 23:56Speaker 6: a bunch of guys, maybe not flashy, but a lot
- 23:59Speaker 6: of guys that last a while in the NFL.
- 24:01Speaker 2: You just could get rid of us.
- 24:03Speaker 8: We're talking about Curtis Taylor, vested NFL veteran on the seventeen.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Dad Dan McCrae played all the years.
- 24:13Speaker 2: He might still be playing your thirty four.
- 24:15Speaker 8: It might be running down kickoff for the Cowboys right now,
- 24:18Speaker 8: but yeah, Al actually might still be.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I think which is wild?
- 24:25Speaker 4: Uh yeah, Brandon, I'm with you. Twenty eleven.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 24:29Speaker 8: That's that's the best football team that didn't win a
- 24:32Speaker 8: national championship.
- 24:33Speaker 6: Maybe ever, I don't know if that's on them either.
- 24:36Speaker 6: Maybe not run powered on toss.
- 24:39Speaker 4: Uh.
- 24:39Speaker 7: It was.
- 24:40Speaker 4: It was like a version of hornballs. I don't know
- 24:42Speaker 4: what they ended up calling it.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe put maybe put Jay Lee in.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Yeah, just don't do what you did.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Yeah, just across the fifty.
- 24:50Speaker 6: Remember that tea ball was sitting here trying to argue
- 24:52Speaker 6: all that with this one time, going back and forth,
- 24:55Speaker 6: I say, hey, but I just cross the fifty.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Shoot, uh.
- 25:04Speaker 8: Yeah, Joa is one personal line, dra like I was
- 25:07Speaker 8: today's Yeah, Cisco Desmond said, Cisco's the lead singer of Jodas.
- 25:11Speaker 8: You know, Cisco's lead singer of Drew Hill, which we'll
- 25:14Speaker 8: play some Drew Hill coming back. How about that so
- 25:16Speaker 8: you can tell the difference who's the lead singer Drew Hill?
- 25:19Speaker 8: Cisco long song?
- 25:21Speaker 2: Okay, it's not Drew.
- 25:22Speaker 4: No, there's nobody named Weird.
- 25:24Speaker 2: That's not a person's name. Uh huh band.
- 25:30Speaker 7: Do you all remember that rap group from like a
- 25:33Speaker 7: long time, like the twenty tens. It was not a
- 25:35Speaker 7: long time ago, No, it was in high school. It
- 25:39Speaker 7: was three guys and the rap group was called Travis Porter,
- 25:42Speaker 7: and everybody for like the longest time thought it was
- 25:45Speaker 7: one guy, but it was.
- 25:46Speaker 5: Do you remember Taylor so.
- 25:48Speaker 7: Shocked that Taylor knows remember that I don't know Travis
- 25:51Speaker 7: Porter made it out to Livingston.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah, bare Just apparently Travis Order is the name.
- 25:59Speaker 5: Of a that's.
- 26:02Speaker 4: That's a stupid group.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Alright, right, I would tend to agree. All right, Well
- 26:08Speaker 2: I lied to you.
- 26:10Speaker 8: We're really gonna get started when we come back because

- 29:14Speaker 3: Hey man, absolutely, thanks for grabbing me on glad to
- 29:16Speaker 3: be here with you, so ross.
- 29:17Speaker 8: Typically, whenever you know you go and grab a weapon
- 29:21Speaker 8: via trade, we're like, okay, well you got you know,
- 29:23Speaker 8: Blank quarterback a new weapon. The problem is we still
- 29:26Speaker 8: don't know who Blank is for the New Orleans Saints.
- 29:28Speaker 8: But whoever Blank is, the Saints went and got him
- 29:31Speaker 8: a new weapon yesterday.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Absolutely, and a big bodied one, which I think is
- 29:36Speaker 3: the big value here, whether it's for Spencer Ratler or
- 29:39Speaker 3: whether it's for Tyler Schuck. Getting a guy that's six
- 29:42Speaker 3: foot four, six foot five, two hundred and ten plus
- 29:45Speaker 3: pounds in Devon Valley from the Denver Broncos is a really,
- 29:51Speaker 3: I think a positive move for New Orleans. Like I
- 29:53Speaker 3: don't think this is a guy that comes in and
- 29:54Speaker 3: immediately becomes your number one, number two wide receiver, of course,
- 29:58Speaker 3: but certainly somebody that can be you know, really helpful
- 30:01Speaker 3: for these young quarterbacks. Called seventy five point nine percent
- 30:04Speaker 3: of the passes that went his way over his thirteen
- 30:06Speaker 3: games last year, you know, not just a really good
- 30:09Speaker 3: success rate when targeted as well. This is just the
- 30:11Speaker 3: guy that seems to be able to come down with
- 30:13Speaker 3: a football when it's thrown to him, And I think
- 30:15Speaker 3: that's something that you're really looking forward to from one
- 30:17Speaker 3: of these young quarterbacks to have that sort of bigger body,
- 30:19Speaker 3: wide receiver target to help them.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Move the chain west.
- 30:22Speaker 6: Do you see this move coming in light of maybe
- 30:26Speaker 6: these some of the tight end injuries we've had, And
- 30:28Speaker 6: now you look at Devon Vele He's played in Denver
- 30:32Speaker 6: last year nearly seventy percent of usnaps from the slot,
- 30:34Speaker 6: so he can kind of take that position of over
- 30:36Speaker 6: the middle whip routes in the flat like that big bodied,
- 30:40Speaker 6: just nice person like, nice easy target to hit, like
- 30:44Speaker 6: kind of taking that place of a tight end. Is
- 30:46Speaker 6: that kind of like a kind of what we what
- 30:48Speaker 6: the Saints are thinking about their tight end position right now.
- 30:52Speaker 3: I think it's a part of it. I think that
- 30:53Speaker 3: the injuries there certainly have a big impact. I mean,
- 30:55Speaker 3: you know, you look at guys like Jack Stole as
- 30:58Speaker 3: well as you know the guys that are behind Juwan
- 30:59Speaker 3: John and Jack Stole, Treated Wealth, you know, Steph Green,
- 31:03Speaker 3: Michael Jacobson, some of these guys have some real good
- 31:05Speaker 3: past catching ability. I mean, Treating Welsh is a former
- 31:07Speaker 3: wide receiver for instance. But you know, it's really been
- 31:10Speaker 3: Juwan Johnson that's been the focus at that position in
- 31:12Speaker 3: the in the past catching department. And then I think
- 31:15Speaker 3: that the other part on top of that too is
- 31:17Speaker 3: you know, you look at the wide receivers that have
- 31:19Speaker 3: stood out so far, Chris olave, Rashiski, Brandon Cooks, Mason Tipton.
- 31:23Speaker 3: All those guys are under six with two, right, and
- 31:26Speaker 3: all the guys that they had are have rather that
- 31:29Speaker 3: are six foot two or above. You know, buve means
- 31:32Speaker 3: with the injured reserve, you've got Kevin Austin Junior, Dante Pettis,
- 31:36Speaker 3: you know, you've got Donovan. People shown they haven't necessarily,
- 31:42Speaker 3: you know, blown lid off here with the opportunities that
- 31:44Speaker 3: they've gotten. Dante Pettis has been the best performer out
- 31:46Speaker 3: of all those, but he's not necessarily a jump ball
- 31:48Speaker 3: guy either, right, And so I think that a guy
- 31:51Speaker 3: like Devon Bailey kind of comes in and fills or
- 31:54Speaker 3: brings that prototype that the things didn't have at the
- 31:58Speaker 3: position as well. So I think it's a little bit
- 32:00Speaker 3: of just really looking at the pass catchers as a whole,
- 32:03Speaker 3: as an entire group, and looking for what isn't available,
- 32:06Speaker 3: And one thing that the thing didn't have was a
- 32:09Speaker 3: six foot four, two hundred and ten pound guy that
- 32:12Speaker 3: runs a four four seven that can go out there
- 32:14Speaker 3: and be, you know, a real first down converter for you,
- 32:17Speaker 3: a third down converter for you, excuse you, excuse me,
- 32:20Speaker 3: and you know, a possession guy that can still be
- 32:22Speaker 3: a three level threat. They didn't have that guy, and
- 32:24Speaker 3: and so this is kind of the player that fills
- 32:26Speaker 3: that void across the wide receiver and tight end room.
- 32:30Speaker 8: Now you gave up, you know, some pretty good assets,
- 32:32Speaker 8: certainly the fourth round here, that's certainly something. But I'm
- 32:34Speaker 8: still surprised Vailey was available. Like when you go back
- 32:38Speaker 8: and you kind of listen to some of the practice
- 32:40Speaker 8: supports for the Denver Broncos, like this is somebody that
- 32:43Speaker 8: they talked a lot about and it's not like, you know,
- 32:45Speaker 8: he is a player that hasn't proven anything. I mean,
- 32:47Speaker 8: he has over four hundred yards receiving just a year ago.
- 32:51Speaker 8: And this is a player that it felt like they
- 32:52Speaker 8: were really excited about. And so I know, you give
- 32:55Speaker 8: up a fourth rounder, which again that is certainly you
- 32:57Speaker 8: know some draft capital that that means something.
- 33:00Speaker 4: But I'm surprised he was available.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Yeah, me too. But it goes to show you just
- 33:04Speaker 3: how good that wide receiver room is over in over
- 33:08Speaker 3: in Denver right now. I mean, they just resigned Courtland Sutton.
- 33:10Speaker 3: They've got more talent at that position as well. They
- 33:13Speaker 3: drafted Pat Bryant from I think he's from Syracuse, remember correctly, Yeah,
- 33:19Speaker 3: I think it's from Syracuse. A guy that I really
- 33:21Speaker 3: liked the draft this past year, and he's been standing
- 33:24Speaker 3: out quite a bit, and so I think that that
- 33:27Speaker 3: kind of is a little bit of what made him available,
- 33:30Speaker 3: even a player that has been as you know, successful
- 33:33Speaker 3: as him to be able to come in and do that.
- 33:35Speaker 3: He was the team's third leading wide receiver last year
- 33:38Speaker 3: at four hundred and seventy five receiving yards. He had
- 33:40Speaker 3: three touchdowns as well, and so I think that, like
- 33:42Speaker 3: all of those things kind of combined are a big
- 33:46Speaker 3: part of the you know, I don't know the reason
- 33:50Speaker 3: why maybe he was able to be made available based
- 33:53Speaker 3: on what maybe some of that other talent is in
- 33:55Speaker 3: that room.
- 33:57Speaker 6: Let's kind of get the crystal ball out kind of
- 33:58Speaker 6: explained to the listeners about what the impacts are with
- 34:02Speaker 6: the moves that they've made, you know, this year and
- 34:05Speaker 6: certainly last year as well. What what impact they're going
- 34:07Speaker 6: to have on the twenty twenty sixth draft. I mean,
- 34:09Speaker 6: I'm looking now, I think there's five. We have five
- 34:12Speaker 6: picks right now that our own, first, second, third, fifth,
- 34:14Speaker 6: and sixth. I believe a seventh rounder was traded and
- 34:17Speaker 6: the move for Divine Godchild the fourth round. Of course,
- 34:19Speaker 6: for this move, I believe there's a potential of a
- 34:23Speaker 6: compensatory fourth round for Pauls and a Deebo signing a
- 34:26Speaker 6: free agency But we could lose that, right if Isaac
- 34:29Speaker 6: Goatdam or is it Yadam?
- 34:30Speaker 2: It starts for most of the year.
- 34:32Speaker 3: Yeah them, yeah, yeah, yeah, that yeah, that's yeah, that's
- 34:37Speaker 3: that's that's all. I always remember it. I'm always like
- 34:38Speaker 3: the autum the yeah. I think that's That's a big
- 34:45Speaker 3: part of it too, is you know, they might have said,
- 34:47Speaker 3: you know what, we might get this a story fourth
- 34:49Speaker 3: round pick, and so you know, could make this move,
- 34:52Speaker 3: but there's there's still a you know, a great chance
- 34:55Speaker 3: that they don't get that because it is going to
- 34:57Speaker 3: be the starting corner, as you mentioned, and so know
- 35:00Speaker 3: it's very unlikely I guess that they cash in on that.
- 35:02Speaker 3: But I also think if you look at their history
- 35:05Speaker 3: over the course of the past ten drafts. For those
- 35:08Speaker 3: years they didn't select in the fourth round at all,
- 35:11Speaker 3: So they've consistently kind of used that. It's forty percent
- 35:13Speaker 3: of the time, forty percent of drafts they've used that
- 35:15Speaker 3: fourth round pick to move around or make a move
- 35:17Speaker 3: as opposed to actually make a selection. And then if
- 35:20Speaker 3: you look at sort of the six players that they've
- 35:22Speaker 3: drafted before or yeah, before this draft, right, Danny Stutsman
- 35:27Speaker 3: and Quincy Riley. We believe those guys are going to
- 35:29Speaker 3: be good football players. But then you kind of go
- 35:31Speaker 3: and you expand that out to you know, Nick Saldeveri,
- 35:34Speaker 3: and you know Jig Hayter and Rick Leonard and you
- 35:37Speaker 3: know CJ. Garter Johnson was a get. But you know,
- 35:39Speaker 3: you look at those six players that are out there,
- 35:41Speaker 3: and there's maybe a pair of them that you go like, oh,
- 35:43Speaker 3: those were solid picks for the time that they were
- 35:45Speaker 3: in New Orleans.
- 35:46Speaker 2: CJ.
- 35:46Speaker 3: Garter Johnson and David on Jimata, And that's going back
- 35:49Speaker 3: quite a way for both those guys now. And so
- 35:52Speaker 3: I think that there's sort of that other piece too,
- 35:54Speaker 3: to where yeah, they were able to walk away with
- 35:56Speaker 3: two really good fourth round picks we believe in this
- 35:58Speaker 3: year's draft, but this year draft was notably, really really
- 36:03Speaker 3: strong in the middle of the draft. We don't know
- 36:05Speaker 3: what next year's draft looks like yet, but the Saints
- 36:07Speaker 3: do because they've been scouting those guys for years at
- 36:10Speaker 3: this point, right, and so I wonder how much of
- 36:13Speaker 3: it is the Saint's also acknowledging that, hey, this is
- 36:17Speaker 3: what can be exchanged for fourth round pick right now
- 36:20Speaker 3: could be more valuable than what that fourth round pick
- 36:22Speaker 3: might be able to be you just used or turned
- 36:24Speaker 3: into in next year's draft.
- 36:27Speaker 8: So ross obviously, like you know, the conversation is still
- 36:29Speaker 8: going to surround you know, the quarterback position until we
- 36:32Speaker 8: actually know who the starter is going to be. But like,
- 36:35Speaker 8: we are not that far away from the Saints and
- 36:38Speaker 8: Cardinals in real action, no more. Preseason we've seen both
- 36:42Speaker 8: quarterbacks start games. A couple of questions here, how do
- 36:45Speaker 8: you think they play the third preseason game? And then
- 36:48Speaker 8: when do you ultimately think they're going to name their
- 36:51Speaker 8: starting quarterback?
- 36:53Speaker 3: Yeah, tough to predict what they're going to do in
- 36:55Speaker 3: the third preseason game, but I imagine that the focus
- 36:58Speaker 3: is going to be maybe get some of the starters
- 37:00Speaker 3: out on the field. Kellen Morris kind of hinted that
- 37:03Speaker 3: some of the veterans that haven't gotten an opportunity to
- 37:05Speaker 3: get out there kind of fence this year a little
- 37:07Speaker 3: bit said, Hey, I'd really like some, you know, game exposure,
- 37:09Speaker 3: and so I'm curious if he's going to give them that.
- 37:12Speaker 3: You know, in Wednesday's practice in the Superdome, they kind
- 37:16Speaker 3: of ran this ones versus two's kind of scrimmage to
- 37:20Speaker 3: where two started off defending a seven point lead against
- 37:23Speaker 3: the number one offense. The number one offense is out
- 37:25Speaker 3: there in full in terms of who is healthy, right,
- 37:28Speaker 3: Dylan ragentsin for chart of pinning in this case, and
- 37:31Speaker 3: then you know that that was kind of the scrimmage
- 37:33Speaker 3: that they ran, and to me that sort of indicated, okay, well,
- 37:36Speaker 3: maybe they are getting ready to give some of these
- 37:39Speaker 3: starters a opportunity to be able to go out there
- 37:42Speaker 3: and perform as a starting unit. They kind of dress
- 37:43Speaker 3: rehearsal that we hear about all the time in the
- 37:45Speaker 3: FINTAL preseason game to see if they kind of go
- 37:48Speaker 3: you know, that route there, and so I think that
- 37:51Speaker 3: that might be what we see. And if I'm the Saints.
- 37:54Speaker 3: I give both quarterbacks sometime with that first team, but
- 37:58Speaker 3: I don't know, like that might not be pop right,
- 38:00Speaker 3: Does that screw up rhythm? Does that risk too much injury?
- 38:03Speaker 3: Things like that. But it feels like at this point
- 38:05Speaker 3: there's only a couple of things left to kind of
- 38:07Speaker 3: learn about these guys, and one of those things is
- 38:10Speaker 3: what do they look like with the full first team
- 38:11Speaker 3: unit in a gaming situation? And so how do you
- 38:14Speaker 3: create that environment? Maybe going drive for drive might be
- 38:18Speaker 3: you know, insufficient in terms of all the other things,
- 38:20Speaker 3: but it feels sufficient for what you need for the
- 38:22Speaker 3: quarterback battle. So we'll see how they handle it though,
- 38:25Speaker 3: And then as for announcing the starting quarterback, I don't know,
- 38:27Speaker 3: though there's a lot of value in hiding it, you know,
- 38:31Speaker 3: in terms of going up against the Arizona Cardinals Week
- 38:33Speaker 3: one and everything, like you're already so much a mystery
- 38:37Speaker 3: going into that game one way or another as a
- 38:40Speaker 3: newly led head coach, newly you know, new quarterback. All that,
- 38:43Speaker 3: like all the newness is still kind of going to
- 38:46Speaker 3: work in your favor anyway, And so I would say probably,
- 38:49Speaker 3: like if I were making the decision, I'm going to
- 38:52Speaker 3: announce it would probably be that, you know, sometime in
- 38:54Speaker 3: that week when there's availability after that prefeat game. But
- 38:58Speaker 3: you know, I'm going back and talking to the team first.
- 39:00Speaker 3: I'm talking to the quarterbacks first. I'm talking to the
- 39:03Speaker 3: coaching staff first. We're making that decision in house, and
- 39:06Speaker 3: then I'll take it out to the media. I'm not
- 39:07Speaker 3: in a hurry to you know, show up postgame and
- 39:09Speaker 3: do it. That's the one thing I definitely wouldn't do.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Ross do all the quarterbacks warm up with the rugby ball.
- 39:18Speaker 3: So the rugby balls have been around for since Keith
- 39:22Speaker 3: Williams came in. They're they're a training tool for the
- 39:24Speaker 3: pass catchers, and so the rugby ball is what they
- 39:27Speaker 3: do is that you kind of throw them to the
- 39:29Speaker 3: receivers for a little while and then get them used
- 39:32Speaker 3: to the size of the rugby ball, and then they
- 39:33Speaker 3: throw the football to them, which is much smaller. It
- 39:36Speaker 3: makes the football team much smaller than it is, and
- 39:39Speaker 3: so that's part of the way that they kind of
- 39:41Speaker 3: keep warm on the sideline sometimes too, And with Jake
- 39:44Speaker 3: Hayner being the guy that was on the sideline during
- 39:46Speaker 3: that game, he was out there throwing the rugby balls
- 39:49Speaker 3: to those pass catchers.
- 39:50Speaker 6: So having like some QB guru back home, that's like,
- 39:54Speaker 6: all right.
- 39:57Speaker 3: Yeah, they they've been they've been doing the rugby balls
- 40:00Speaker 3: for a little while. Now for the for the past catchers. Now,
- 40:03Speaker 3: what I don't know is have they you know, did
- 40:05Speaker 3: Scott told you to see that and go, oh, you
- 40:07Speaker 3: know that would be great to kind of get the
- 40:09Speaker 3: hands ready for you know, the quarterbacks too, and then
- 40:12Speaker 3: kind of like did that way. But you know, at
- 40:13Speaker 3: some point somebody's got to throw that thing to those
- 40:15Speaker 3: receivers in order for that drill to work. So I imagine
- 40:18Speaker 3: that that's probably where Ross.
- 40:20Speaker 6: I gotta tell you, man, I would hate throwing that ball.
- 40:23Speaker 6: That would that would screw me up so bad. But
- 40:26Speaker 6: I get it from like a pass catcher's there. But
- 40:29Speaker 6: but but Jake Hayter Man, he's all in, dude, he is.
- 40:33Speaker 6: He's feeling he is feeling it with a rugby ball.
- 40:35Speaker 6: All right, finish this sentence for me. My name is
- 40:38Speaker 6: Kellen Moore. I sit down to press conference and I say, okay, guys,
- 40:44Speaker 6: it's over. Quarterback battle is over. We've made our decision.
- 40:46Speaker 6: We're going to throw the full way to this organization.
- 40:48Speaker 6: We are ready to announce the starter, and this starter is.
- 40:53Speaker 3: I'm gonna be consistent with what I've said from the
- 40:55Speaker 3: very beginning, and I'm going to say that the starter.
- 40:57Speaker 6: Is Tyler Schuck.
- 40:59Speaker 3: I think if they were gonna name Spencer Rattler the starter,
- 41:01Speaker 3: they had their opportunity to do it. After he let
- 41:03Speaker 3: that big comeback, you know, game tying drive against the
- 41:07Speaker 3: Jacksonville Jaguars. They had their opportunity to do that. This
- 41:09Speaker 3: to me feels like they're giving both of these guys
- 41:11Speaker 3: every opportunity, and the guys that the guy that's going
- 41:14Speaker 3: to benefit from getting bored opportunity is the rookie that's
- 41:16Speaker 3: going to grow at a more exponential rate for his
- 41:18Speaker 3: first year. And so so I'm gonna I'm gonna say
- 41:21Speaker 3: Tyler Shuck. I would personally put Spencer Ratler out there,
- 41:24Speaker 3: but I think that this organization wants Tyler Shuck to
- 41:27Speaker 3: be out there, and they're gonna throw their full weight
- 41:29Speaker 3: of the organization behind that.
- 41:31Speaker 4: All right, there, he is our gull.
- 41:33Speaker 3: That's my prediction.
- 41:35Speaker 2: That's what it's going to be.
- 41:36Speaker 4: Yea, you have it stamp guarantee boom from Ross.
- 41:41Speaker 2: Breaking breaking.
- 41:42Speaker 4: All right, Ross, we appreciate it. Check out Ross's word
- 41:44Speaker 4: Louisiana Sports dot Net.
- 41:46Speaker 8: I'll you know, host of the Lockdown Saints podcast as well,
- 41:49Speaker 8: but obviously has the Saints covered on the website. Again
- 41:51Speaker 8: Louisiana Sports dot Net. Ross, we appreciate it as always, sir,
- 41:55Speaker 8: Thank you guys.
- 41:55Speaker 6: You take care of safe.
- 41:56Speaker 3: I'll talk to you soon.
- 41:57Speaker 4: All right, man, there we go.
- 42:03Speaker 2: So did we get to like was it a good trade?
- 42:06Speaker 8: I mean, it's fourth round pick, But once he started
- 42:09Speaker 8: like listening all the listening guys they've taken in the
- 42:12Speaker 8: fourth round, I'm like, Ri Bailey's a better player than that.
- 42:16Speaker 8: He's already proven more than those guys outside of CD do.
- 42:20Speaker 2: So, huh, that's an interesting set. I do like.
- 42:23Speaker 4: I do like the body type. And I know we
- 42:24Speaker 4: got a break.
- 42:25Speaker 8: I like the body type that they brought in because
- 42:28Speaker 8: they didn't have a guy like that. Yeah, they had
- 42:31Speaker 8: the same guy four or five times over. So all right,
- 42:34Speaker 8: we'll take a break more OTV close out out number one.
- 42:36Speaker 8: When we come back one of four or five ESPN vetteris.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 42:42Speaker 2: All right.
- 42:43Speaker 8: If you are traveling next weekend, you've already looked in
- 42:47Speaker 8: your mind. I am going to go to LSU and Clemson.
- 42:49Speaker 8: Maybe you haven't planned everything just yet. Well that's when
- 42:53Speaker 8: you go to a sindashtravel dot com.
- 42:55Speaker 4: They plan so you can fan.
- 42:57Speaker 8: There's packages still available and when you go to an
- 43:00Speaker 8: away game, it's a lot of fun, but there's things
- 43:03Speaker 8: that you have to do that are not really that fun,
- 43:06Speaker 8: like getting to the location, booking a hotel, Trying to
- 43:10Speaker 8: get to and from the game can be a massive headache,
- 43:13Speaker 8: trying to find a good tailgate to go to because
- 43:15Speaker 8: you're in a place that's not familiar to you.
- 43:17Speaker 4: Well, they handle all of that, right. They have packages
- 43:20Speaker 4: that will handle all of that. They have packages that
- 43:23Speaker 4: can take you there on a private jet. I mean
- 43:25Speaker 4: they got everything covered a sindashtravel dot com.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:27Speaker 6: Maybe you own a business saying you're trying to impress
- 43:30Speaker 6: some clients, some big clients you got and you want
- 43:32Speaker 6: premium hotel, accommodations, all inclusive, tailgate, game tickets, welcome gifts,
- 43:37Speaker 6: client style, traveling style. Let them do the plant a
- 43:40Speaker 6: sindashtravel dot com.
- 43:42Speaker 1: Hey Tiger, two thousand and seven, Champs Purple and Gold
- 44:05Speaker 1: to the Core. This is off the bench with Hester
- 44:08Speaker 1: and Flynn, Matt and Rouge's go to for all things
- 44:11Speaker 1: Louisiana sports.
- 44:19Speaker 2: They seem crazy.
- 44:22Speaker 10: I really don't care. That's too they see Lessie, But.
- 44:31Speaker 8: All right, welcome back in O TB one of four
- 44:33Speaker 8: five ESPN Ben Rude. I do really, I really think
- 44:39Speaker 8: the Saints made a good move by going to get Vayley,
- 44:42Speaker 8: a receiver that does not look like the rest of
- 44:44Speaker 8: the receivers there. He's tall, he's rangy. You're gonna have
- 44:48Speaker 8: injuries at that position. Unfortunately, like the people that are there,
- 44:52Speaker 8: every single one of them knock on wood. I hope
- 44:55Speaker 8: it doesn't happen, but they like they've all missed significant
- 44:59Speaker 8: time in multiple seasons in their NFL careers.
- 45:03Speaker 6: I'm always young, guys, I'm always so skeptical in trades.
- 45:06Speaker 6: I questioned everything in life, you know, and it's like,
- 45:09Speaker 6: all right, so we got to give up this for like,
- 45:11Speaker 6: why would the Broncos trade? And now I know Ross
- 45:13Speaker 6: said that Troy Franklin's very really well, yeah I know
- 45:17Speaker 6: they're really deep.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Yeah that's great.
- 45:19Speaker 8: But still so I had the same thought as you did,
- 45:23Speaker 8: and so I think that on all trades. I reached
- 45:26Speaker 8: out to one of my former teammates that does radio
- 45:29Speaker 8: there in in Denver, was like, hey, did we get
- 45:31Speaker 8: fleeced here? He goes, No, he said, the room's just stacked,
- 45:35Speaker 8: and he's been having a really good camp.
- 45:37Speaker 4: He said.
- 45:37Speaker 8: We were surprised that they moved on from him because
- 45:41Speaker 8: last year how much he stood up when they needed him.
- 45:43Speaker 8: I'm like, all right, cool, he is twenty eight, he's
- 45:46Speaker 8: a he's an old second year player.
- 45:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I went to.
- 45:50Speaker 2: You an older young guy.
- 45:54Speaker 8: That's true. It's very taysome. Shuck Bailey. We'll see an
- 45:59Speaker 8: hour two.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Off the bench.
