- 0:00Speaker 1: What's better than two hours of Marc Simone?
- 0:03Speaker 2: Three!
- 0:04Speaker 1: The Marc Simone Show. Now nine till noon weekdays.
- 0:08Speaker 3: 710WOR.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Hey, we'll take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number. 800-321-0710.
- 0:11Speaker 1: So the Democrats, the fake news, this plot to stop AI,
- 0:13Speaker 1: you've got to regulate it to death, you've got to
- 0:16Speaker 1: rein it in, you've got to.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Normally, whenever there's one of these things, climate change and
- 0:33Speaker 1: the Democrats and the fake news and everybody colludes, Hollywood
- 0:36Speaker 1: jumps right in on this. But they got a little problem.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Hollywood has been pushing for more AI. Hollywood loves AI
- 0:44Speaker 1: because it can save them a fortune.
- 0:48Speaker 3: A fortune.
- 0:49Speaker 1: You know, they can do things with AI instead of
- 0:51Speaker 1: actually doing them for real. Like if you had to
- 0:52Speaker 1: have a battle scene where you need 5,000 soldiers on
- 0:55Speaker 1: a battlefield, you You used to have to hire 5,000 extras.
- 1:00Speaker 1: You had to make 5,000 costumes for them. It's cost
- 1:04Speaker 1: a fortune. But now you can put two or three
- 1:07Speaker 1: and then AI the rest of them in, and it
- 1:10Speaker 1: looks very real and save a fortune. Or if you
- 1:14Speaker 1: want to have a plane crash, you could do it
- 1:17Speaker 1: with AI. You don't have to buy an actual airplane
- 1:19Speaker 1: and then crash it. So AI has a dilemma here.
- 1:25Speaker 1: They always like to join in on these plots. But
- 1:28Speaker 1: they are really hoping for a lot of AI. It'll
- 1:31Speaker 1: help them a lot. Tucker Carlson. What the hell happened
- 1:34Speaker 1: to him? Was he always nuts? I don't know. I
- 1:39Speaker 1: used to do his show a lot. He seemed pretty
- 1:41Speaker 1: normal back then. But actually, when he took over for O'Reilly,
- 1:47Speaker 1: you know, Tucker Carlson's from Georgetown. He's a preppy sort
- 1:50Speaker 1: of a high society sort of type. When he took
- 1:53Speaker 1: over for O'Reilly, he went kind of hillbilly-ish. He was
- 1:56Speaker 1: very redneck. And then when he got fired and he's
- 1:59Speaker 1: on his own trying to get attention, he became just nuts,
- 2:03Speaker 1: just anti-Semitic, crazy, insane. There is a business in that.
- 2:09Speaker 1: You can become like the new Alex Jones, like the wacko.
- 2:13Speaker 1: You can make a fortune doing it, but you're a
- 2:15Speaker 1: total outcast and you seem like a complete nut job.
- 2:18Speaker 1: He's now, what was he claiming? Claims Israel needs to
- 2:21Speaker 1: repent the same way the Nazis did. So again, you
- 2:25Speaker 1: got to write this guy off completely. Just He's Alex Jones.
- 2:28Speaker 1: He's just a complete, total nut job. Forget about him.
- 2:33Speaker 1: He's gone forever and never, ever, ever, ever come back. Anyway,
- 2:37Speaker 1: let's take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number. Let's go
- 2:42Speaker 1: to Mike in Florida. Mike, how are you doing?
- 2:45Speaker 3: Good morning, Mark.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Yes, Mike.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Regarding yesterday's story about the mayor putting toilets around the city.
- 2:52Speaker 3: So apparently he's against data centers, but he's all for...
- 2:57Speaker 3: Doo-doo centers.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Oh, there you go. How long did you work on
- 3:00Speaker 1: that line?
- 3:01Speaker 3: I was going to ask you for your best input
- 3:05Speaker 3: on that one.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Oh, please. You're in Florida. Where are you going so early?
- 3:11Speaker 3: I went to BJ's to pick up a watermelon. Pretty exciting.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I just want to say, I'm going to retire and
- 3:18Speaker 1: move to Florida. This becomes your life. You go to
- 3:20Speaker 1: Starbucks at 6 a.m. You find some errand to keep
- 3:23Speaker 1: you busy until lunch, right? Then you go to lunch.
- 3:26Speaker 2: That's right.
- 3:27Speaker 3: And then you're dodging, you're dodging thunderstorms because it's that
- 3:30Speaker 3: time of year where it rains every 20 minutes and
- 3:33Speaker 3: I'm constantly wet and not for any of the good reasons.
- 3:36Speaker 1: And the reason they all go to dinner at four o'clock,
- 3:38Speaker 1: they got nothing else to do down there.
- 3:40Speaker 3: They have nothing to do. They're in bed. They go
- 3:43Speaker 3: to the HOA meeting and complain at six 30 and
- 3:45Speaker 3: then they go to bed at seven.
- 3:47Speaker 1: And what part of Florida are you in?
- 3:50Speaker 3: I'm in the port St. Lucy area, which is, uh,
- 3:52Speaker 3: 40 minutes north of the Palm Beach area.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Oh, okay. Yeah.
- 3:57Speaker 3: It's actually quite the burgeoning city, or whatever you want
- 4:01Speaker 3: to call it.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Yeah, what happens is Palm Beach is like a very genteel, wonderful,
- 4:06Speaker 1: then all the New Yorkers come down, how are you?
- 4:08Speaker 1: And they take over, so everybody has to move to Jupiter.
- 4:12Speaker 1: The next thing you know, these people all take over Jupiter,
- 4:15Speaker 1: then everybody has to move to Hope Sound. These New
- 4:18Speaker 1: Yorkers chase them all the way up the coast.
- 4:21Speaker 3: They move all the way up the coast, exactly. They
- 4:23Speaker 3: keep creeping. It's a slow, steady creep up the coast. But,
- 4:28Speaker 3: you know, looking for heaven on earth, which I can
- 4:31Speaker 3: attest it isn't. But they think it is.
- 4:34Speaker 2: All right.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Well, thanks for calling, Mike. Take care. Yeah, before you
- 4:38Speaker 1: think of leaving New York, you know, all these people
- 4:41Speaker 1: in Florida, most of them, they leave New York, they
- 4:45Speaker 1: move to Florida. You know, they still listen to the
- 4:46Speaker 1: New York radio. They listen to us. They listen to WINS.
- 4:51Speaker 1: They get the New York Post every day. They used
- 4:54Speaker 1: to actually get the physical copy. Now they all read
- 4:57Speaker 1: the New York Post every day. They just miss New York.
- 5:01Speaker 1: I know. Don't think about leaving. That's why the smart
- 5:04Speaker 1: thing is if you really want to leave the city,
- 5:07Speaker 1: you go to Long Island or Connecticut. You go to
- 5:09Speaker 1: the suburbs. That way you're still right here. You can
- 5:12Speaker 1: come in and out. You know, the hottest real estate
- 5:14Speaker 1: right now is Long Island. The biggest demand anywhere in
- 5:18Speaker 1: America right now is Long Island. It's a seller's market
- 5:21Speaker 1: like never, never before, according to the latest study. Let's
- 5:25Speaker 1: go to Rob in Smithtown, Long Island. Rob, how you doing?
- 5:29Speaker 3: Hey, Mark.
- 5:29Speaker 2: How are you?
- 5:30Speaker 1: Good.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I'm just seeing some pictures of the new Belmont racetrack.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:36Speaker 2: And I'm sure a lot of New Yorkers aren't familiar
- 5:38Speaker 2: with it, but it's an unfortunate situation because it was
- 5:42Speaker 2: 121 years old. They built the USD Arena, UBS Arena,
- 5:46Speaker 2: whatever it is, To mimic the old Belmont racetrack.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Then they built the village, Belmont Village.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:53Speaker 2: To mimic these buildings. Then they tear down the racetrack
- 5:56Speaker 2: and build a completely new modern racetrack.
- 5:58Speaker 1: What's wrong with that?
- 5:59Speaker 2: What is she thinking?
- 6:00Speaker 1: What is wrong with that?
- 6:03Speaker 2: What's wrong with it? It doesn't even follow logic.
- 6:06Speaker 1: You got a new racetrack, and hey, that Belmont Village
- 6:09Speaker 1: is very nice. You got a million shops, restaurants. It's great.
- 6:12Speaker 1: What are you complaining about?
- 6:13Speaker 2: Absolutely, it's beautiful. But the nostalgic building that was there
- 6:17Speaker 2: for 121 years, why did they make USB or UBS
- 6:21Speaker 2: Arena mimic the old Belmont racetrack if they were just
- 6:25Speaker 2: going to destroy the racetrack and build something completely different?
- 6:27Speaker 1: Well, because sometimes you got to rebuild stuff, infrastructure, whatever,
- 6:30Speaker 1: to make it, sometimes you don't realize, like the Kennedy Center.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Who knew it was all crumbling inside and had tremendous
- 6:36Speaker 1: water damage?
- 6:37Speaker 2: I don't listen. I don't disagree with the quote. Listen,
- 6:40Speaker 2: it's 120, and it's huge. I mean, I used to
- 6:42Speaker 2: go quite often. Actually, I lived over there. It was
- 6:46Speaker 2: a huge, really unusable other than the Belmont Stakes. But
- 6:50Speaker 2: if you're going to build something new, why wouldn't you
- 6:52Speaker 2: have them all uniformed the way you want to do it?
- 6:55Speaker 3: Stop complaining.
- 6:55Speaker 1: What the hell are you complaining about? Where do you live?
- 6:59Speaker 1: You're in Smithtown.
- 7:00Speaker 3: I live in Smithtown.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Okay, you've got all these great new restaurants. You've got Insignia.
- 7:04Speaker 1: You've got the Chazz. You've got the greatest, phenomenal new place. What,
- 7:07Speaker 1: do you sit there and complain? We want the old
- 7:09Speaker 1: places back.
- 7:10Speaker 2: No, look at Insignia. It's a beautiful, nostalgic, old-looking building.
- 7:14Speaker 2: They've fitted it to the decor of the area.
- 7:16Speaker 1: It's beautiful.
- 7:17Speaker 2: It's a Belmont racetrack. Again, back to the modern art situation.
- 7:23Speaker 2: It doesn't fit in the decor of the area.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I think you've got to stop and save yourself. If
- 7:32Speaker 1: this is my big concern, if this is what I'm
- 7:34Speaker 1: irate about on a summer Friday, you better reexamine your life,
- 7:38Speaker 1: I think.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right, Mark. You're right.
- 7:41Speaker 1: It's the final weekend of summer. You should be enjoying it.
- 7:46Speaker 2: You're right. I'm going to go play golf later, so
- 7:48Speaker 2: that's what I'm going to enjoy.
- 7:49Speaker 1: All right. Don't cheat too much. All right.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Thanks, Mark.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Take care. You know, I was watching the TV this morning.
- 7:56Speaker 1: They said the new Belmont racetrack and the reporter was there.
- 7:59Speaker 1: And this is the show in the new racetrack, the
- 8:01Speaker 1: Belmont village. It looked beautiful. Who the hell could complain
- 8:05Speaker 1: about it? New Yorkers, New York, Long Island, complain about
- 8:09Speaker 1: anything and everything. Well, we got a lot coming up today. Hey,
- 8:13Speaker 1: we'll get to, uh, we'll get to mom Donnie's crazy
- 8:18Speaker 1: scheme for park Avenue. This is not going to be good. Uh, Hey,
- 8:22Speaker 1: if you're, uh, uh, Walking by an Apple store, you'll
- 8:25Speaker 1: notice there's ropes, there's lines everywhere. The new iPhone 18
- 8:29Speaker 1: is out. Most people pre-ordered it. I pre-ordered it. But
- 8:34Speaker 1: it's the first day it hits the stores. It's the
- 8:36Speaker 1: first day you can walk in a store and buy
- 8:38Speaker 1: the new iPhone 18, the new watch. So you'll see
- 8:41Speaker 1: massive lines around the block at every Apple store. We'll
- 8:45Speaker 1: talk more about that coming up on 710WOR. Now you got,
- 8:50Speaker 1: I'm on 9 to Noon. You got Buck Sexton, Clay
- 8:53Speaker 1: Travis at noon. You got Sean Hannity, the most listened
- 8:56Speaker 1: to radio show of all at 3. You got Jesse
- 8:59Speaker 1: Kelly at 6. You got Jimmy Fela at 9 o'clock,
- 9:03Speaker 1: the most powerful lineup in talk radio, here on 710WOR.
