Latest / Foul Territory / Jonathan Papelbon on Red Sox fallout w/Bregman, Pivot to Bo Bichette?
Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Jonathan Papplebon coming in from the top rope of perfect
- 0:13Speaker 1: intro music for you to tell us what we need
- 0:16Speaker 1: to know about Alex Bregman not returning to the Boston
- 0:19Speaker 1: Red Sox pop set the scene.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Well, I think you guys explained it pretty much. The
- 0:25Speaker 2: no Trade claws to me was the final factor and
- 0:29Speaker 2: decision maker in this.
- 0:31Speaker 3: And you know, I don't know how y'all feel, but
- 0:35Speaker 3: I feel like I did in college when I walked
- 0:37Speaker 3: into a bar and there's this hot shit there and
- 0:41Speaker 3: you waited to go up and talk to her, and
- 0:45Speaker 3: then somebody else came in, swooped in and talked to her.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Now she's gone, she left the bar with him. So
- 0:49Speaker 2: that's how I feel right now. But it's you know,
- 0:53Speaker 2: the Red Sox to me are a big market team
- 0:57Speaker 2: in and out, and you you are not going to win,
- 1:03Speaker 2: especially today with the New York Yankees and the Toronto
- 1:06Speaker 2: Blue Jays in your division. First of all without being
- 1:11Speaker 2: able or prepared to pay. I mean, the market speaks
- 1:15Speaker 2: for itself nowadays. If you're not prepared to go one
- 1:19Speaker 2: seventy to two fifty to three fifty, I don't care
- 1:22Speaker 2: amount of years you got to be able to pay,
- 1:24Speaker 2: and they're just not doing that right now. And now
- 1:27Speaker 2: the latest thing I've heard is they're gonna get creative
- 1:30Speaker 2: with the offseason. And I've heard this before. You know,
- 1:33Speaker 2: let's get creative. Let's start signing more groundball guys. You're
- 1:37Speaker 2: gonna platoon like eating and somebody else at second. Meer
- 1:43Speaker 2: rookie who got hurt all last year's probably gonna look
- 1:46Speaker 2: at playing third. And that doesn't cut it for me.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Can we just clarify one thing with his analogy?
- 1:53Speaker 4: Did you like it?
- 1:54Speaker 1: I just felt like there was one slice missing from
- 1:56Speaker 1: it for Paps. So it's like you went on an
- 1:59Speaker 1: amazing date, right because you already have a relationship for
- 2:02Speaker 1: him with this girl. Then you see her at the
- 2:03Speaker 1: bar and you kind of like either ignore her or
- 2:05Speaker 1: go up to her and say something weird or not inappropriate,
- 2:09Speaker 1: but like you offer her like to I don't know,
- 2:12Speaker 1: not hang out at the moment, like we'll hang out
- 2:13Speaker 1: again another time.
- 2:15Speaker 4: And then she first of all, and I also want
- 2:17Speaker 4: to say this for Pap. He went to college in
- 2:18Speaker 4: Mississippi State. I've been to Mississippi State. There aren't a
- 2:21Speaker 4: lot of ton of girls there that Pap should be
- 2:23Speaker 4: talking to anyways. Wow, So I'm just gonna throw that
- 2:26Speaker 4: out there. Maybe he got lost and he ended up
- 2:28Speaker 4: in a field with some other cows or some sheets
- 2:30Speaker 4: or something that he got confused with. But let's just
- 2:34Speaker 4: let's just throw that out there first. And by the way,
- 2:36Speaker 4: you weren't old enough to drink when you're in college, pap.
- 2:38Speaker 4: So that's also another thing that we're not going to
- 2:40Speaker 4: talk about.
- 2:42Speaker 2: That true story, a true story, you know. But here's
- 2:46Speaker 2: the thing when it all boils down to it, you know,
- 2:50Speaker 2: like this dude, right as soon as he came to
- 2:54Speaker 2: the Red Sox and talk about Bregman, right as soon as.
- 2:57Speaker 5: He came through, he was anointed as a captain, leader,
- 3:03Speaker 5: another coach on the bench, all these things.
- 3:09Speaker 2: I'm sitting here thinking, we're gonna wrap this up by Christmas,
- 3:12Speaker 2: and this is gonna be a Christmas present for Red
- 3:14Speaker 2: Sox Nation. Not only did they stumble their feet, the
- 3:19Speaker 2: disappointment is now set in. And now what are you
- 3:22Speaker 2: gonna do but to me? You know, I did forty
- 3:27Speaker 2: five more than half of the away our home games
- 3:30Speaker 2: with Nessen last year, and the asses were in the
- 3:34Speaker 2: seats still, and you're gonna have to see, like, a,
- 3:38Speaker 2: are are we gonna be prepared for the fans to
- 3:41Speaker 2: revolt on us or not? Because I've heard a lot
- 3:44Speaker 2: of bad things from the fans so far.
- 3:48Speaker 6: Yeah, but they didn't revolt when they weren't signing guys
- 3:51Speaker 6: other years. And then they signed Bregman last year and
- 3:54Speaker 6: the asses were in their seats, So that's to me,
- 3:57Speaker 6: have they made that move to put the asses back
- 4:00Speaker 6: in the seats, because really, this team flounder minus Garrett Crochet,
- 4:04Speaker 6: this team floundered around five hundred. Is Roman Anthony gonna
- 4:08Speaker 6: be the guy who's taking this team to the next level.
- 4:10Speaker 6: Is Trevor Story gonna continue like he had to jump
- 4:14Speaker 6: back up last year? Is your MVP candidate Sedan Rafaela
- 4:20Speaker 6: gonna like carry this team because they've downgraded their offense
- 4:24Speaker 6: right now without making this sign.
- 4:27Speaker 2: There's no question about that craftz. But to me, it's it's,
- 4:33Speaker 2: you know, the Red Sox in order to compete in
- 4:36Speaker 2: this division now you know? And and and the last
- 4:40Speaker 2: thing I heard was is the Phillies we're talking to Bischett.
- 4:43Speaker 2: So I'm sitting here thinking, at least we're gonna go
- 4:46Speaker 2: after Baschett, But that that doesn't look like it's gonna
- 4:48Speaker 2: happen either. So you're relying on Sadan having an MVP
- 4:54Speaker 2: type season, which I think he can have. You're relying
- 4:57Speaker 2: on on role players a second, role players that third,
- 5:00Speaker 2: and possibly you know, at first base if Cossa's does
- 5:05Speaker 2: come back, I don't know, because Treres is probably gonna
- 5:08Speaker 2: play ninety five percent of the time, but what are
- 5:10Speaker 2: you gonna do with him as well? So there's so
- 5:12Speaker 2: many question marks up in the air that some things
- 5:15Speaker 2: have got to be figured out. And you know, to me,
- 5:20Speaker 2: it's it's not looking good right now because they just
- 5:23Speaker 2: crept into the playoffs last year with a wild card
- 5:26Speaker 2: and ended up getting their butts beat by the New
- 5:29Speaker 2: York Yankees. So I don't know how much longer you
- 5:32Speaker 2: can accept that if I'm the Boston Red Sox front office.
- 5:37Speaker 6: All Right, It's funny you said front office was the
- 5:39Speaker 6: last thing you said, because you said, when they brought
- 5:41Speaker 6: Bregman in, this is a dude. There was a coach
- 5:43Speaker 6: on the field. Does this non signing? Yes, they offered
- 5:47Speaker 6: them one hundred and sixty five million dollars. Yes, it's
- 5:49Speaker 6: a lot of money, but they didn't get the job. Done.
- 5:51Speaker 6: Does this non signing signify a more of a disconnect
- 5:55Speaker 6: between the front office and the field than there was before?
- 6:01Speaker 2: I think it, well crap, Yes, yes and no, I
- 6:06Speaker 2: think it continues that there is a disconnect because the
- 6:13Speaker 2: fans in the front office with the Boston Red Sox
- 6:16Speaker 2: right now are so disconnected. I mean, you know my
- 6:20Speaker 2: buddy that I do on destructive views with Carabas, he's
- 6:23Speaker 2: about to commit suicide. But like the thing is though,
- 6:28Speaker 2: is is there a disconnect between Ac Jason VerTech and
- 6:34Speaker 2: some of these guys that are on staff with the
- 6:36Speaker 2: front off. That's my big concern right now, like is
- 6:40Speaker 2: there a disconnect there at all? Because to me, I'm
- 6:44Speaker 2: coaching this team, I need these guys. I'm trying to
- 6:47Speaker 2: stress how important a guy like Bregman is in my clubhouse.
- 6:52Speaker 2: And the last thing I want to say.
- 6:54Speaker 7: Too is is the Red Sox having this no tree
- 7:00Speaker 7: claws we don't do that rule is a bunch of bs.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Okay, that's all bs. First of all, they did it
- 7:08Speaker 2: with Pedroia when I was there, and they did it
- 7:11Speaker 2: with I think Chrissale and maybe one other guy, So
- 7:14Speaker 2: that that's bs. You gotta throw that out the window
- 7:17Speaker 2: and so to me, if that was the final straw,
- 7:22Speaker 2: then they missed big, big, big big with Bregman.

- 8:28Speaker 1: one meal kit, Hello Fresh.
- 8:30Speaker 4: No, they didn't as big, But also why would bring
- 8:33Speaker 4: them want to no trade? When they traded Mooki, they
- 8:35Speaker 4: traded Sale, and they traded Devers in the last few years.
- 8:37Speaker 4: So if I'm him and I'm going there, I want
- 8:39Speaker 4: to know trade because they have a history of trading
- 8:41Speaker 4: these guys later on. So that is a big deal
- 8:44Speaker 4: to players, having that security and having that whole thing.
- 8:46Speaker 4: So I agree with you, Pat, But what I want
- 8:48Speaker 4: to know is where do they go next? Like you
- 8:50Speaker 4: kind of hit on it, But do they do they
- 8:52Speaker 4: go out and find somebody else? So they go after
- 8:54Speaker 4: a Boba shit?
- 8:55Speaker 6: Right?
- 8:56Speaker 4: Are they comfortable with Meyer? And they comfortable with Christian?
- 8:59Speaker 4: Kre got about Christian Campbell? Don't even talk about him.
- 9:02Speaker 4: They signed him to like a sixty million dollars deal
- 9:04Speaker 4: last year and he was at triple A most of
- 9:06Speaker 4: the year, So what do they do with him? Right?
- 9:08Speaker 4: So they have options, but are they good enough to
- 9:12Speaker 4: help them with what Alex pregman up brought not only
- 9:14Speaker 4: on the field, but from what everyone says he brought
- 9:16Speaker 4: off the field. When you add Wilson Katrous, you had
- 9:19Speaker 4: Sonny Gray. You add some other guys here and there,
- 9:21Speaker 4: but they haven't really improved the infield. And if their
- 9:24Speaker 4: run prevention run prevention, Alex Pregmant is great at run
- 9:27Speaker 4: prevention at third base.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you nailed it. So for my for
- 9:33Speaker 2: me being a picture AJ and I'm a big believer
- 9:39Speaker 2: in run prevention obviously, But to me is who are
- 9:43Speaker 2: those guys gonna be? I mean, Meyer is unproven in
- 9:47Speaker 2: the infield, and your right now got him probably slided
- 9:50Speaker 2: in at third base. Then you got Eton and Campbell,
- 9:53Speaker 2: who both are completely unproven at second base and at shortstop.
- 9:58Speaker 2: This Trevor story at him age come back and still
- 10:03Speaker 2: be capable of having an MVP type season and carrying
- 10:06Speaker 2: a team you bring in Contreras. Now, Contreras to me,
- 10:10Speaker 2: is gonna have to go out if they don't do
- 10:12Speaker 2: anything else, is gonna have to go out and have
- 10:13Speaker 2: a big poppy forty and forty five and hit three twenty.
- 10:19Speaker 2: I mean, and that's not gonna happen. So to me,
- 10:24Speaker 2: the moves have got to be made. But like I
- 10:27Speaker 2: said earlier, y'all, the front office has got to be
- 10:30Speaker 2: prepared to spend I don't understand their motives behind not
- 10:35Speaker 2: wanting to spend money right now, because everyone else, especially
- 10:39Speaker 2: Toronto and New York, who are in your division or
- 10:42Speaker 2: spending money.
- 10:44Speaker 6: Where are they at? Where are they at in the
- 10:46Speaker 6: division right now? You've just said Toronto and New York. Well,
- 10:49Speaker 6: New York hasn't spent money yet, but you assume they will.
- 10:52Speaker 6: But yeah, where do you have the Red Sox are
- 10:54Speaker 6: they Are they a third place team right now? Or
- 10:57Speaker 6: do you like the Oriols enough to make the Red
- 10:58Speaker 6: Sox a fourth place team?
- 11:01Speaker 2: I think the Orioles are gonna bounce back, So to me,
- 11:04Speaker 2: it's gonna be between fighting between Tampa Bay in the
- 11:08Speaker 2: Red Sox for the last place in the division. That's
- 11:11Speaker 2: what I where I see him right now. But you know,
- 11:16Speaker 2: the thing that the whole thing of this is that
- 11:18Speaker 2: when you when you're a front office right and I'm
- 11:22Speaker 2: not in the front office, but you've got just like
- 11:25Speaker 2: the players are, seeing what's happening with other players. Aj
- 11:29Speaker 2: you said this earlier, you think that the Bregnant deal
- 11:32Speaker 2: is gonna affect the Bellinger deal and so on and
- 11:35Speaker 2: so on, but that there's no difference in the front
- 11:37Speaker 2: office right these deals affect. How now, who are you
- 11:41Speaker 2: gonna go after? What are you gonna do next? Uh?
- 11:44Speaker 2: And to me, they've got to get in on the
- 11:46Speaker 2: Bobashett deal. I don't know if y'all know this, but
- 11:49Speaker 2: here's a little funk fact from Bobashett. His dad played there, right,
- 11:53Speaker 2: His dad met his mom in Boston, he was born
- 11:55Speaker 2: in Boston and all that mess. So every time he
- 11:59Speaker 2: goes to Well Austin, somehow he just rakes. Check out
- 12:02Speaker 2: his numbers. I checked him out like two weeks ago,
- 12:05Speaker 2: but they're off the charts. And so to me, if
- 12:09Speaker 2: you got a player you know that could play in
- 12:11Speaker 2: Fienway Park, he's one of them.
- 12:14Speaker 4: True? What about a what about a trade for Ronado?
- 12:17Speaker 4: Like what about Nolan Arnado? Or what about Gino Suarez
- 12:21Speaker 4: on a short term one year with an opt out
- 12:24Speaker 4: kind of thing? Same thing they tried with Bregman, Right,
- 12:27Speaker 4: what about those are some bigger named third basemen. Arnado's defensive, yes,
- 12:31Speaker 4: to slipped, his offensive slipped a little bit, but he's
- 12:34Speaker 4: still a decent player. Suarez is he'll hit you some homers.
- 12:37Speaker 4: He'll strike out of Temby. He's gonna hit you homers.
- 12:39Speaker 4: He's a good vibes guy. So what about one of
- 12:41Speaker 4: those two possibly coming in and taking over there?
- 12:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I tell you what, AJ, out of all those people,
- 12:47Speaker 2: I do like those moves. You gotta start getting creative
- 12:50Speaker 2: and thinking, okay, can we slip in some one two
- 12:53Speaker 2: year deals with this guy or that guy? But to me,
- 12:56Speaker 2: that guy would have to be Nolan Arnado, like he's
- 13:00Speaker 2: got to be on the radar. If he's not, they're
- 13:02Speaker 2: mistaken again. And the reason why I say that is
- 13:06Speaker 2: because this clubhouse, and I've been around these guys a lot.
- 13:13Speaker 2: They need leadership man, and no one is one of
- 13:17Speaker 2: those guys who will step right in just like a
- 13:19Speaker 2: Bregman and lead a team. He's gonna be the same
- 13:22Speaker 2: guy day in and day out, and he's gonna be
- 13:26Speaker 2: someone that threw out the course of this season. They
- 13:28Speaker 2: can lean on if he stays healthy. And that's everybody.
- 13:32Speaker 2: But yeah, they're gonna have to get creative in some ways.
- 13:35Speaker 2: They're another a J.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Who's the star?
- 13:39Speaker 2: Now?
- 13:39Speaker 6: So who steps up and is the star? Because that's
- 13:42Speaker 6: where the maturation of Marcella Meyer, the maturation of Roman Anthony,
- 13:48Speaker 6: the fact that you were hoping Tristan Cossas would take
- 13:51Speaker 6: the next steps. Watching Bregman. Who's the star for them
- 13:55Speaker 6: to watch? Is story that guy?
- 13:59Speaker 4: Story?
- 14:00Speaker 2: Not that guy. I'm sorry, it's it's not story to me.
- 14:04Speaker 2: And the pitching side of it is obviously Garrett Crochet.
- 14:07Speaker 2: He's the guy that everybody's gonna show up to and watch.
- 14:11Speaker 2: But on the other side, the position side of the field,
- 14:15Speaker 2: to me, they've already anointed him as the star and
- 14:19Speaker 2: he's gonna have to continue to fill big, huge shoes
- 14:22Speaker 2: of being the star. And that's Roman Anthony, right. So
- 14:25Speaker 2: this kid is that You're You're.
- 14:27Speaker 8: Relying on a twenty two year old kid to go
- 14:33Speaker 8: out infan Way Park night in and night out and
- 14:37Speaker 8: be the next David Ortiz or the next you know,
- 14:41Speaker 8: star amongst stars, and they've already anointed him as that.
- 14:44Speaker 8: So if he fails right out the gate, it's gonna be,
- 14:49Speaker 8: oh crap.
- 14:50Speaker 2: What do we do now? So there's a lot of
- 14:52Speaker 2: pressure on that kid to be a star. And do
- 14:56Speaker 2: I think he can do it? Yes, I think he's
- 14:57Speaker 2: got a good head on his shoulders and he can
- 14:59Speaker 2: be a star for the Red Sox and you know,
- 15:01Speaker 2: be that guy or that dude. But it's only time will.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Tell all right, pap, let's move on. Do they have
- 15:09Speaker 4: enough pitching right now? I know you said they're gonna
- 15:11Speaker 4: be battling with the Rays. Crochet had an unbelievable year.
- 15:13Speaker 4: They went out and get Sunny Gray. They're relying on
- 15:15Speaker 4: some of their younger guys, Bao and some of these
- 15:17Speaker 4: guys to to kind of take that next step and
- 15:20Speaker 4: become what they need. They brought back Chapman in the
- 15:22Speaker 4: back end of the bullpen, but they're counting on guys
- 15:24Speaker 4: again to have great years that a lot of people
- 15:26Speaker 4: outside of Fenway have never heard of. Do they have
- 15:29Speaker 4: enough pitching or do they need to go out and
- 15:30Speaker 4: still get another pitcher because they did lose gi Alito.
- 15:33Speaker 4: He's a free agent. So do they have enough pitching
- 15:35Speaker 4: right now? Forget the offensive side of it. Do they
- 15:38Speaker 4: have enough pitching? Because everyone says pitching wins championships, And
- 15:40Speaker 4: when the Red Sox were winning, they had Pedro and
- 15:43Speaker 4: they had Wake and they had you in the back
- 15:45Speaker 4: end and Keith Folk and all these guys in the
- 15:48Speaker 4: back end that were really good. So do they have
- 15:50Speaker 4: enough pitching right now to compete in this division? Forget
- 15:53Speaker 4: the offense?
- 15:55Speaker 2: Well, A j I don't think they do. You know,
- 15:59Speaker 2: I don't think you can have really have enough pitching,
- 16:01Speaker 2: especially in Fenway Park. But you know, here here's some
- 16:06Speaker 2: keys to the situation with the pullpen. Though. You got
- 16:09Speaker 2: Chapman coming back, who is defines life is and I've
- 16:15Speaker 2: watched his off season workout videos again this offseason just
- 16:19Speaker 2: because I'm so intrigued by this man. But he's gonna
- 16:22Speaker 2: be back doing the same things in my opinion, And
- 16:25Speaker 2: you got his setup man in Whitlock established already, who
- 16:28Speaker 2: both had phenomenal seasons last year, both All Star type seasons.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Now you're gonna need some guys to step up again.
- 16:38Speaker 2: You know, you's good. There's probably not gonna be at
- 16:40Speaker 2: Bernardino again, and you know he was really good for him.
- 16:44Speaker 2: But the starting pitching to me, all relies on one guy,
- 16:50Speaker 2: and that's Brian BeO, not Garrett Crochet. Okay, Brian Beyo
- 16:55Speaker 2: has got to come and start pitching like a number
- 16:58Speaker 2: one or two, not a three or four, and start
- 17:01Speaker 2: being able to not only pitch that way, but AJ
- 17:04Speaker 2: and Krats be able to beat other teams number ones
- 17:09Speaker 2: in twos. When you have that guy, that's your second
- 17:13Speaker 2: and third starting staff rotator and going out and winning
- 17:17Speaker 2: games against other guys ones and twos. That's when you
- 17:20Speaker 2: can creep up into standings. So he if he can
- 17:22Speaker 2: do that, then they'll be all right. But still that
- 17:25Speaker 2: we have not We have yet to see Brian Beyo
- 17:27Speaker 2: do that, so that's that's unproven.
- 17:31Speaker 6: Talking about pitching, are you okay with the moves and
- 17:34Speaker 6: not getting pregnant? If they trade for a Freddie Peralta
- 17:37Speaker 6: and you you can launch this team back into the
- 17:41Speaker 6: first or second in the division or at least a
- 17:43Speaker 6: playoff team. If they would get a Freddie p, a
- 17:47Speaker 6: true number one to go behind your Ace and Crochet.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Yes, I would kratz yes, because now you have the
- 17:56Speaker 2: pitching staff to take up for the lack of what
- 18:02Speaker 2: your lineup is doing right now in all three phase
- 18:06Speaker 2: of the game, hitting, pitching, the defense. When all those
- 18:08Speaker 2: line up, yeah, you go on ten twelve run streaks
- 18:12Speaker 2: of winning. But you know when when you have a
- 18:16Speaker 2: guy like Freddie p going and a Garrett Crochet going
- 18:20Speaker 2: and you can somehow some way get into the playoffs,
- 18:24Speaker 2: then boom, you're set right. You got that one two punch,
- 18:28Speaker 2: especially when it's you know, uh, four game, five game, series,
- 18:34Speaker 2: and it's not a seven game series. You know, you
- 18:36Speaker 2: can beat them in three or four games, so that
- 18:40Speaker 2: would be huge in my opinion.
- 18:45Speaker 1: I just want to circle back to the top of
- 18:47Speaker 1: why we're all chatting right now. So the Red Sox
- 18:52Speaker 1: badly wanted someone they already had a taste.
- 18:54Speaker 4: I told you they came up short like this, but
- 18:57Speaker 4: they didn't. They wouldn't budge because the Red maybe PAP
- 19:00Speaker 4: or the Red Sox front office in ownership John Henry,
- 19:03Speaker 4: overconfident in what they do and what they offered. Because
- 19:07Speaker 4: from what I was told, they made an early offer
- 19:09Speaker 4: to Bregman didn't budge. They went back and said, look,
- 19:12Speaker 4: we have a higher offer than what you're offering us.
- 19:15Speaker 4: Alex kind of wants to come back. Then the no
- 19:17Speaker 4: trade all that stuff happened, and then the Red Sox
- 19:19Speaker 4: were like, we don't believe you. And then Bregman was like, hey,
- 19:22Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with another team. And then all of
- 19:24Speaker 4: a sudden they're like, oh, here's our best, real best
- 19:26Speaker 4: offer five one sixty five with a ton of deferrals
- 19:29Speaker 4: out you know, twenty thirty years. Do we think maybe
- 19:32Speaker 4: the Red Sox were just too overconfident that Alex Bregman's
- 19:35Speaker 4: market wasn't gonna get there, and they were just gonna
- 19:37Speaker 4: get him back.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I think he nailed it on the head. AJ. But
- 19:40Speaker 2: let me tell you something. I don't know if y'all
- 19:42Speaker 2: had Scott Boris as an agent or not. But when
- 19:45Speaker 2: Scott Boris comes back and he tells you I got
- 19:48Speaker 2: five for one seventy five, or I got seven for
- 19:51Speaker 2: two fifty or I got nine for three point fifty,
- 19:55Speaker 2: you believe him. Okay, you believe him, and then you
- 19:59Speaker 2: go about your business accordingly to what he says. So
- 20:04Speaker 2: you know them saying, oh, come on, man, that's child's
- 20:07Speaker 2: play to me. And secondly, when you realize that, okay,
- 20:13Speaker 2: this no trade clause is that important to him, then
- 20:16Speaker 2: you come up off of that too, like there's no
- 20:19Speaker 2: questions ask And I don't know about y'all, but Bragnance
- 20:23Speaker 2: to the point of his life where he wants stability,
- 20:26Speaker 2: and there's no question about it, like he wants He's
- 20:30Speaker 2: got his wife, kids, and you know, he's at that
- 20:32Speaker 2: point where he wants to be settled. And I think
- 20:37Speaker 2: that played a huge factor in this whole situation.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Incredible, truly incredible. Well, Pap thank you for joining us
- 20:48Speaker 1: therapy session or whatever it is. Actually, I would say
- 20:52Speaker 1: most importantly, your boy and our friend, Jared Crabs does
- 20:55Speaker 1: need a hug right now. He's kidding, He's okay, he's
- 20:59Speaker 1: going to be fine. We're we're not making light of,
- 21:02Speaker 1: you know, the situation that Pat mentioned earlier, but he definitely.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Is that that they did this after the whole winter
- 21:12Speaker 2: Fest deal. I don't know if y'all know about that.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Ben way Fest ended, and then how long after that
- 21:23Speaker 1: did this happened? Hours hours later? It happened if you
- 21:30Speaker 1: really want to you.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Know what I think this weekend is Cububs nailed it.
- 21:37Speaker 4: I'll be trade for Edward Cabrera. They get Alex pregnant.
- 21:40Speaker 4: Get how many more tickets they sold a Cubs convention?
- 21:42Speaker 4: Probably a lot.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Enough to make.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Uh yeah, Cubs Convention is Friday through Sunday. This weekend.
- 21:50Speaker 4: Nailed it? Yeah, Wow, pap incredible.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Hey, Red Sox organization should consider themselves lucky if that
- 21:59Speaker 1: happened twenty four hours earlier.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Oh man, could you imagine what more?
- 22:04Speaker 2: All the story more, all the story boys from that
- 22:08Speaker 2: hot Chicks in the bar?
- 22:09Speaker 4: You go get her, man, Yep, don't wait or they're
- 22:14Speaker 4: in the field path for you. They're in the field.
- 22:16Speaker 4: You see that one. You gotta go get him. Yeah, love,
- 22:20Speaker 4: be pat. We'll talk to you soon. Dude.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Thanks for swinging by.
- 22:23Speaker 2: I gotta see you.
- 22:25Speaker 4: Appreciate you. Hey.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Monster Territory does more therapy session action with Robbie Hyde,
- 22:32Speaker 1: part of the FT Network. Robbie was at Fenway Fest
- 22:36Speaker 1: before the volcano erupted, so more from him. I'm sure
- 22:40Speaker 1: he'll be very active this week. And of course we
- 22:43Speaker 1: have Northside Territory too. If you want to hear them all,
- 22:46Speaker 1: bask in the glory of signing Alex pregnant. The futures
- 22:57Speaker 1: bet we're looking at is regular season home run lead
- 23:00Speaker 1: Iron Judge is the leader at the pack at plus
- 23:04Speaker 1: three fifty. Show Hey o Tani plus four hundred and
- 23:08Speaker 1: if you believe in Kyle Schwarber winning this race, throw
- 23:11Speaker 1: down one hundred to win eight hundred Judge.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Three until Judge purves me wrong.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I'm going with Judge, okay.
- 23:21Speaker 4: I mean Schwarber had a unbelievable year and didn't even
- 23:22Speaker 4: get it done.
- 23:24Speaker 6: True Kratz plus and it's plus three fifty.
- 23:30Speaker 4: I mean to me, if it's not.
- 23:34Speaker 6: If it's not Judge at plus three fifty, like you
- 23:37Speaker 6: have to look at like I love I love Nick
- 23:39Speaker 6: Kurtz at one thousand plus one thousand, ten to one,
- 23:43Speaker 6: but I just don't think Shoe Hay's gonna be there.
- 23:47Speaker 6: Pete Alonzo at plus twelve hundred. I really like that,
- 23:51Speaker 6: maybe even more than I like the Nick Kurtz. But
- 23:55Speaker 6: I just think I think Judge is plus three fifty.
- 23:58Speaker 6: I like that number. I dump, where's dumper?
- 24:03Speaker 2: Dumper?
- 24:05Speaker 6: Yeah, he's a plus nine hundred.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Okay, Judge tough to lead the league.
- 24:11Speaker 6: He showed that last year. Tough to lead the league.
- 24:13Speaker 6: It took everything falling right for him to lead the league.
- 24:18Speaker 6: K Kirts is a good pick, though.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Yep.
- 24:21Speaker 4: Full season in that ball and he's kind of in
- 24:23Speaker 4: the weeds and in Sacramento by a ballpark. Nobody really
- 24:26Speaker 4: talks about him. Ball flies, ball flies there for Judge.
- 24:31Speaker 4: If he doesn't get hurt, I'll still take Judge same.
- 24:33Speaker 1: That's the to me. It's almost like the only thing
- 24:36Speaker 1: that can hold him back, right, is he going to
- 24:37Speaker 1: miss any time? If he's not, he's probably going to
- 24:40Speaker 1: take the home run title.
- 24:42Speaker 6: All right.
