- Lucas: Välkommen tillbaka, everyone! This is Learn Swedish with Fexingo, and I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna! Episode 72 already—I can't believe it. Lucas: I know, right? And we've covered so much. Last time we were at the bakery buying bread. Luna: Oh, I loved that. I still dream about those frallor. Lucas: Today, we're going somewhere a bit more serious—the hospital emergency room. Luna: Oh. I hope we don't need it, but I guess it's good to know. Lucas: Exactly. So let's start with the most basic: 'I need help.' That's 'Jag behöver hjälp.' Say it with me: Jag behöver hjälp. Luna: Jag behöver hjälp. Jag behöver hjälp. Lucas: Perfect. Slow and clear. Now, if something hurts, you say 'It hurts here.' That's 'Det gör ont här.' Try it: Det gör ont här. Luna: Det gör ont här. Det gör ont här. Lucas: Good. Now, the next phrase: 'Can you help me?' That's 'Kan ni hjälpa mig?' Repeat: Kan ni hjälpa mig? Luna: Kan ni hjälpa mig? Kan ni hjälpa mig? Lucas: And if you need to find the emergency room: 'Var är akuten?'—'Where is the emergency room?' Say it: Var är akuten? Luna: Var är akuten? Var är akuten? Lucas: Last one: 'Ring en ambulans'—'Call an ambulance.' Try it: Ring en ambulans. Luna: Ring en ambulans. Ring en ambulans. Lucas: Great. So, imagine you're at a park in Stockholm and you see someone fall and hurt their ankle. What do you say? Luna: Uhh... 'Jag behöver hjälp'? Or maybe 'Ring en ambulans'? Lucas: Both work. Or you could ask 'Kan ni hjälpa mig?' to get someone's attention. Luna: Right. And if I'm the one who's hurt, I say 'Det gör ont här'. Lucas: Exactly. Now, let's imagine you're at the hospital. A nurse asks 'Vad är problemet?' You say 'Det gör ont här.' Then they ask 'Var är akuten?'—but you're there already, so you say 'Jag behöver hjälp.' Luna: So it's all connected. I like that. Lucas: And by the way, if you find these phrases useful—and I hope you never need them—but if Fexingo helps you feel more confident in Swedish, you can support us at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah, it really helps keep the show ad-free and going. Just a small thing if you can. Lucas: Okay, back to practice. Let's try a quick scene. You're at a mall and someone falls. What do you say? Luna: I'd say 'Ring en ambulans!' and then 'Kan ni hjälpa mig?' Lucas: Perfect. And if you're the one who falls, you say 'Jag behöver hjälp' or 'Det gör ont här.' Luna: I hope I never have to use this, but I feel better knowing it. Lucas: That's the goal. Alright, let's review all five phrases one more time. Repeat after me: Jag behöver hjälp. Luna: Jag behöver hjälp. Lucas: Det gör ont här. Luna: Det gör ont här. Lucas: Kan ni hjälpa mig? Luna: Kan ni hjälpa mig? Lucas: Var är akuten? Luna: Var är akuten? Lucas: Ring en ambulans. Luna: Ring en ambulans. Lucas: Excellent. You've got it. Keep practicing these, and you'll be ready if you ever need them. Tack för att du lyssnade, and see you next time! Luna: Hej då!
