- 0:00Speaker 1: Couple of questions on the text, lin Man Cbe asking
- 0:02Speaker 1: if Sonic still offers the fifty cent corn dogs on Halloween.
- 0:05Speaker 2: I've not seen it, CB.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I know they had seventy nine cent slushes medium slushes available.
- 0:12Speaker 2: On the app yesterday. Oh did you partake?
- 0:15Speaker 1: I did not, but I should have really like a
- 0:17Speaker 1: good cherry slush or a grape slushy.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Get rid of the orange one. Unfortunately like that. Okay, So.
- 0:26Speaker 1: The a couple of the things that we was talking
- 0:29Speaker 1: in about the Jerry Jones line. So I'd say he's
- 0:32Speaker 1: all in for three quarters, the first, the second of
- 0:36Speaker 1: the fourth.
- 0:38Speaker 3: For some reason. I mean, I bet if you've looked
- 0:40Speaker 3: up highest scoring teams in the fourth quarter of this season,
- 0:45Speaker 3: I don't wonder there's a stab us. I bet the
- 0:47Speaker 3: Cowboys are up there because they had so many fourth
- 0:49Speaker 3: quarter comebacks for some reason.
- 0:53Speaker 2: I gotta believe the Lions are probably in there.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Dallas is seven point six points per fourth quarter, he said,
- 1:01Speaker 3: Detroit is.
- 1:04Speaker 4: No.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Thirtieth three point three.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Who's number one?
- 1:07Speaker 3: Indianapolis, Chicago second, which makes sense because Chicago always has
- 1:12Speaker 3: zero points for the first like quarter and a half.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Tampa Bay third, with just over a touchdown per game.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Same for Pittsburgh, Case Seed, and Philly in the fourth quarter.
- 1:22Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, okay.
- 1:24Speaker 3: But in the last three games, Dallas is about nine
- 1:29Speaker 3: points in the fourth quarter.
- 1:32Speaker 1: You know, we were playing that SoundBite from Jerry Jones
- 1:37Speaker 1: and when they asked him about Dak running, somebody on
- 1:40Speaker 1: the Texan said, nobody on the team is running. It's
- 1:44Speaker 1: a good way to describe. He's like, nobody on the
- 1:46Speaker 1: team is running, at least not right now. Anyway, let's
- 1:49Speaker 1: hear a little more from Jerry.
- 1:51Speaker 2: This. This again.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Came from his weekly radio drop in on one oh
- 2:00Speaker 1: five three of the Fan. He was asked, now, this,
- 2:04Speaker 1: this is kind of a loaded question. This is these
- 2:06Speaker 1: guys always do this, they ask with regard to salary. Now,
- 2:12Speaker 1: I just take a different look at things with salary
- 2:17Speaker 1: because it doesn't bother me or worry me or whatever
- 2:22Speaker 1: how much they're paying Dak Prescott. And I don't know,
- 2:25Speaker 1: I'm a RAMS fan out of the Cowboy, but but he
- 2:26Speaker 1: wouldn't bother me or worry me or whatever.
- 2:28Speaker 2: What they're paying Cooper cup or or Matthew Stafford or whatever.
- 2:34Speaker 1: You know, I understand where some folks say, well it
- 2:37Speaker 1: bothers him because then he doesn't have money to spread
- 2:39Speaker 1: it in other areas where he needs to do it.
- 2:41Speaker 1: That's that's the counter argument, and I get that. But like,
- 2:45Speaker 1: here's the question Terry was asked. Does he keep a
- 2:49Speaker 1: constant evaluation of how Dak Prescott and Cdee Lamb play
- 2:55Speaker 1: after paying them so much money or is he waiting
- 3:00Speaker 1: to laughter the season you imagine sitting there just like
- 3:03Speaker 1: tabulating things or whatever. So that that was a question,
- 3:05Speaker 1: and there's a follow up for Jerry out of this.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Well, neither neither one of them. I basically was well
- 3:12Speaker 4: aware of our commitment to Lamb and well aware of
- 3:17Speaker 4: our commitment to Dak. They were really the principal reason
- 3:23Speaker 4: you saw that all in thing so much. I wanted
- 3:28Speaker 4: to make that commitment with Dak. And so to answer
- 3:33Speaker 4: your question, I don't look at it as matter of fact,
- 3:38Speaker 4: I'm not so sure. I look at anything as as
- 3:41Speaker 4: suc sainfetly as that game or or that situation has
- 3:47Speaker 4: given you, well the kind of return. I've always looked
- 3:51Speaker 4: at the dollars we spend in football and on the roster,
- 3:59Speaker 4: I've all looked at them as scholarships. And you give
- 4:04Speaker 4: one player five scholarships. If it were college monacular, you
- 4:09Speaker 4: give another player one scholarship. The more guys you can
- 4:13Speaker 4: have out there with the one scholarship, the better off
- 4:19Speaker 4: you are. Because of attrition. Our game is built in
- 4:24Speaker 4: that you're going to lose, and you've got to have
- 4:27Speaker 4: people behind them to play, and you can. When you
- 4:32Speaker 4: give a lot of scholarships to any one player, then
- 4:37Speaker 4: in terms of your cap, in terms of the dollars,
- 4:40Speaker 4: then that's much less you got to give to another player.
- 4:44Speaker 4: But we're seeing right now in some degree the system
- 4:49Speaker 4: at its best as far as the impact it can have,
- 4:53Speaker 4: and it's your depth. You've got to bring that depth forward.
- 4:57Speaker 4: And when you've used to a lot of your scholarship
- 5:01Speaker 4: money on several players, then that depth's got to be young.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Not necessarily not talented, but young. Young means more mistakes.
- 5:10Speaker 4: Always young means less stability to communicate out there until
- 5:15Speaker 4: they get it down. So that's where I look at it.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Do you ever get buyer's remorse?
- 5:23Speaker 4: No, No, not at all. You know yesterday yesterday is
- 5:29Speaker 4: as dead as Napoleon. Can't get yesterday back any morning.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Go get Napoleon. It's today right now and going forward,
- 5:39Speaker 4: always going forward. Can't do one thing about that San
- 5:44Speaker 4: Francisco game today, now the things that impacted the San
- 5:48Speaker 4: Francisco game. If you have a chance to get better there,
- 5:51Speaker 4: which can, then that's what you should be looking at.
- 5:55Speaker 4: The other day, when we had a dust up here
- 5:57Speaker 4: on our program, A part of my my response what
- 6:02Speaker 4: to do with I'm spending if you recall I'm spending
- 6:06Speaker 4: looking at today, I'm looking ahead at that day that
- 6:09Speaker 4: was looking ahead at if you will San Francisco leave,
- 6:13Speaker 4: and that's where your tension has got to be spent.
- 6:18Speaker 2: That line, that's my new favorite Jerry Jones line. Yesterday's
- 6:21Speaker 2: his dead is Napoleon. Napoleon right?
- 6:27Speaker 1: That is awesome And like how he use his words scholarships. Yeah,
- 6:32Speaker 1: well it's a scholarships, I mean okay, moving back to
- 6:36Speaker 1: wrap up, I'm her number two on sports radio.
- 6:38Speaker 2: I'm thirteen under the zone.
