- 0:44SPEAKER_01: He's a partner in a cleaning company with plans to franchise that nationwide as well, already making waves in the two locations previously mentioned.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: He owns multiple residential investment properties, including the one we're sitting in right now,$500,000 home.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: You said what, four-bedroom, five-bedroom, four-bedroom, three-bath.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, four bedroom.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: At 20 years old.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Crazy.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we got three acres here, so definitely a blessing.

- 1:26SPEAKER_01: Justin, thank you so much for being here.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm glad.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: Glad to be here.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Glad to be able to talk with you, Tony.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: You know, it's uh it's definitely a big blessing for sure.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: Justin, so in the in in the intro, we mentioned that you're not the average 20-year-old.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: Has that mindset always been the mindset you've had?
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: How did you shift from man, I'm I'm young, I'm good looking, I'm in shape, I can go out and sleep around and have fun and party every night.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: How did you shift that mindset from no, I this is the time where we have the least to we have the least to risk, we don't have much to lose, we don't have a a wife, kids, and so on.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: To being like, man, I have the most time, the least risk.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: This is a time to go all in.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: How did you make that shift?
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'd say um, you know, like definitely a lot of YouTube has helped me, like, and the the people that have surrounded me as well.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: A lot of great mentors that I'm thankful for um has brought me to think differently as a 20-year-old.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: And uh it took time, it wasn't just like a quick, you know, in and out type thing, but like it definitely took time, and I'm thankful that I went through this process because you know I I want to be different.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: Like, I think I've always been a little different in some aspect, like when I was growing up, which is alright, and I don't want to be an average, you know, just an average, you know, anyone, you know what I mean?
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: So well, they say the average person is unfortunately uh overweight, divorced, and in debt.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so if you want to be average, then go join that club, right?
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think a lot of people in in in today's world, they find financial success much easier than like back then.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: You know, we have the internet and all this now, so we have a lot more tools at our at uh at our disposal.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: Sure, yeah.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: But something that I think to me is even more inspirational than your business success is how faithful in God you are.
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: Um, I mean, I remember the first time we met, literally what, two months ago, and we had a great conversation, and it's like, yeah, I'm you know, I'm growing this business and I have you know 10 figure, you know, billion plus dollar goals, yeah, but I'm also I'm doing it not for myself, I'm doing it for God.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: How did you get acclimated to being a man of God?
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: And I mean, especially whether you're a 20-year-old or an uh 50-year-old entrepreneur, building a great thriving business can oftentimes bring our ego out, can make us prideful.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: How do you give that credit to God rather than being indulgent in self-pride?
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, that's that's a great question.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: I mean, I still struggle with that, dude, because like I mean, every day the world wants to like pull you in thinking like you're all that.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: I hate the words, the word self-made.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Like, it's just it's such a it's a selfish word, like terminology.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: Like, I think it's just it's bogus because in order to build something great, like it takes people, and most importantly, it takes the Lord's like provision and hand and favor on you.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: And so I think it's really important that you know that none of this could happen without people and most importantly the Lord, and uh, I feel like God puts favor on specific people for his purpose that he has for you, right?
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: And uh and for me as well.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: And I just gotta be faithful and um obedient to that because I know I can lose it all just like that, you know what I mean?
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: So I was thankful to grow up actually in a Christian family household.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, I I treated I think uh knowing Jesus as like a uh a religion rather than a relationship about two years ago.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Um that's totally shifted just by like meeting people like you or you know, just building a business, talking to customers, dealing with problems, staying accountable for things.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: And yeah, I've I've definitely learned a lot, like, you know, uh to treat more like with knowing the Lord as a relationship rather than religion.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: And it's it's very easy for the world to like keep tugging on you, saying like you did all this, you did all that, and I don't want I don't want people to know me for like oh building this big business, being a billionaire, because yeah, I want to I want to do those things, but it's like that's not what I want my identity identity identity to be, and so I want I want people to know me around the world, like knowing that I love Christ and I have a huge relationship with him, you know?
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: That's beautiful.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: I think that's something that I've heard oftentimes from people who have been very impactful on my journey as a as a young entrepreneur, as a young Christian entrepreneur, is taking spirituality from a something I'm supposed to do, yeah, something that's religion.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: It's it's weird because I've heard people say, Are you you know, I'll ask them, Are you religious?
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: And they're like, No, I'm not religious, I have a relationship with God.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: How do you shift that dynamic from something that I'm supposed to do?
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: I'm supposed to be good, yeah, I'm supposed to, you know, do this, this, and this for God, to I remember when we first met, you mentioned that you literally, I mean, you'll be, you know, in your car just talking to your what looks like from you know an outside view yourself, but you're talking just heart to heart with God.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: Sometimes, I mean, for me, when I first started doing that, it was really awkward.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: How how can someone sh you know shift that dynamic from being religious to actually having a strong relationship with God?
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: That's a that's a good question.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: Um I'm still like I'm still like trying to figure it out for myself.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: Uh but I feel like if you if you just treat knowing the Lord as like just any sort of relationship, like you and I as friends, or or just you know, a girlfriend or you know when you're married or whatever, it's like any other relationship that you're building, and you just gotta keep it like really natural.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: Like I'm not called to be perfect, okay?
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: None of us are, but I'm called to progress.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: If we progress every day, like yeah, I'm gonna fail, I'm gonna fall short.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: But I think knowing that gives me the comfortability that I can mess up and still be loved by God, you know, and so that's why I'm that's why I'm like, you know, not chasing perfection, but chasing progression with the Lord.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: You mentioned you were brought up in a Christian household and and and your dad has also, from my knowledge, been impactful in your businesses as well.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: How have you been able to manage that dynamic as well from you know, dad and son to, you know, him helping you in your faith, him helping you in your businesses, being, you know, where where you're kind of a partner, but you're also you know having that dynamic that he's the father I'm the son.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: Um and obviously like we're both, you know, both of you are children underneath God.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: But yeah, how how do you guys develop your guys' relationship with your dad from both a family standpoint and a uh business standpoint?
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, that's that's good.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: Um I I think the relationship that I have with my earthly father, my dad, it like has helped me grow closer with my heavenly father, God, obviously.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, we still have our like fights and arguments, don't get me wrong, like just like anybody else would or any family, but like we love each other to the point that we want to help each other so much, you know, and I'm thankful to have a dad because I know there's a not a lot of dads out there that will like actually spend the time to help their son.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: Um, and that's how I see our Heavenly Father doing that to all of us.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: Um, so it's giving me like a great perspective of what Jesus actually does with us every single day because he loves us, and so I'm thankful for my earthly dad because he's showed me a lot and he's helped me with like building provision around like where the company, like how to build it, you know, his experience, what who he knows relationship-wise, like that's all helped me kind of get to this point, and uh you know, I just I really think the the father that guy blessed me with here has like totally transformed my relationship with Jesus Christ because man, like I don't know, I don't know where I would be honestly if I didn't have my and I'm saying my mom too.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: My mom has been a great role model for me too.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: Like both my parents have just like been definitely blessings, even though like we go through hardships sometimes too, you know what I mean?
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, being 20 years old, eight two years ago, what you were saying is when you shifted from you know being spiritual or being religious to being having a relationship with God.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: So two years ago you would have probably been graduating high school, right?
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, was there a single moment that switched that flipped that switch for you where you went from religious to having a relationship with God?
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: Was there something specific that happened that that made that happen?
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: No, that's good.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: I think it was uh not just one thing, I was saying it was multiple for sure, because I was more on the quiet side in school, like super quiet.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: I didn't have as much hair, I was like buzz cut free five four, dude.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: I was tiny, and now I'm like you know, six foot, six one, whatever.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: But like I grew a lot, right?
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: Wayne 175, and I I just was super quiet with whether it was talking with people, girls, especially.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, don't get me started.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: But like it's just it was difficult though, like to kind of shift, like being more confident, and uh, I think just talking with more of the customers within my business has actually helped me, you know, talk better and more confidently with other people, and so I'm just it like it just took practice, like just like anything else.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: It was just consistency, and so I and as well as social media, like I do a lot of social media and you do too.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and so I think social media has definitely helped me like repel confidence in myself just by taking a video of myself, even if it's trash and terrible, like yeah, like I still did it and showed up every day to take a video, yeah.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: And even if like I just really wanted to track, you know, from where I was now and to see four or five years later of like dang, look at the progression there, you know.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: So I think that's those there's multiple ways of how I build that confidence.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I think it's good to do something bad rather than not do it at all because no matter what you do, I'm sure when you started your business, you weren't at a million in revenue, you were at$10 in revenue cutting lawns.
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: For real, yeah, you're making jack.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: So so it's it's it's it's always you have to start bad.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: I mean, like for me, you know, in my real estate business, I have we we were just talking about I've kind of automated it to the point where now I have my people who essentially almost run the business for me.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: Uh obviously, like I still need to be responsible, make sure nothing, you know, no fires and whatnot.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: But you know, when I started, I was cold calling these sellers myself.
- 12:45SPEAKER_01: I'm like, and and and I I don't think anyone who's not making money, you know, now I kind of you know, I'm more I'm less serious about it, but you know, no one that's not making money is like fuck off, and and they're like, you know, oh thank you.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: You know, it kind of just it it messes with you.
- 13:03SPEAKER_01: But um I'm thinking of one quote or one saying that I heard, which is like just money, having money doesn't change you, it just brings out more of who you are.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: And so I'm thinking of the difference between building a business and building yourself personally.
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: How do you balance when you're building this business that I'm sure takes a lot of your time?
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: How do you balance building a business and building yourself into who you want to become personally?
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: No, I think uh a lot of billionaires you'll see, or even multi-billionaires you'll see in the world that are just they might be really wealthy with their money, their money problem, they don't have any money problems, but my gosh, they have some serious family problems, relationship problems, everything else is terrible in their life.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: I had a mentor actually um go over to Italy and he met Jeff Bezos, and and like it was a you know 10-15 minutes or something.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: It wasn't anything crazy, but he could just tell, like, there's just something off in his heart that was not there, and so like he burnt a lot of bridges getting to where he's at, and I'm like, I respect Jeff and like whatever he did, but like I could never live, you know, a life, you know, where it's like it's it's just literally all money, you know.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's all money and not anything else, you know.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: I mean, I couldn't even imagine because his family hates it.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: Fulfilling.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: It literally, yeah.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: My mentor said his family just does not like him, nobody likes him because and I I could I don't I wouldn't see like a purpose there.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: I I feel like it would be so dark and lonely, you know what I mean?
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: It's almost I feel like the business is is really where I so we're oftentimes talking about distancing yourself from your business, like or not distancing yourself, but like not making your business your identity.
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: But I feel like once you get to that level, Bezos and your family hates you, you kind of have to.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: So it's just like okay, but I don't really have a family anymore, but so I'm gonna have to keep growing and growing and growing this business just because if I'm not that it makes myself worth, even if it's you know yeah 200, I think it's actually in a trillions valuation or something, but like you just you just take your identity in it.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: So I don't know, I you have to have, and I hate using the word balance, yeah, because I don't think we have to be careful, you have to be careful like where you're actually where your heart's going to, you know what I mean?
- 15:40SPEAKER_01: Because entrepreneurship is easy to especially as a Christian, it's easy to not be Christian like in business.
- 15:49SPEAKER_01: Especially if you want if you want that billion dollar goal as well.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, you know, and and it's always like, oh, I want to be a billionaire.
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: This like as a Christian, because I I do as well, you know, I want to be a billionaire so I can give back more.
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: But you have to really, really I think you have to really be in touch with yourself.
- 16:08SPEAKER_01: So that's good.
- 16:11SPEAKER_01: But so we were talking about how you have to start being by being bad at something to get good.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: And I I think about you on social media, um, not that not that you're bad on social media, but I see you constantly out there posting on LinkedIn as you know a professional network of people.
- 16:35SPEAKER_01: What has that led to for you and has that played a role in your personal development being putting yourself out there?
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: Because that's scary for a lot of people with anxiety and whatnot to put themselves out there.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: How what role has social media played on both your networking and your personal development?
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, I'd say like uh what I like to post is something that brings value.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to bring value to people, but I'm actually trying to bring value to myself.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: Like literally, whatever I post is literally just trying to help myself and remind myself something.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, it might help someone, it might not.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: That's alright.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: You know, I'm not I can't help any everybody, you know what I mean?
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: But like the least I could do is give back to people and at least try.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: And I I just try to use you know the social media platforms, you know, all of them to just seed plant around the the world if I can to um get others to know Christ if that's their decision, right?
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: Like I can't control that.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: Like I'm yeah, you know, but that's on them.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: And so I'm just I uh I've LinkedIn, you know, Instagram, Facebook has definitely helped me um just like remind myself where I'm trying to go.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: I try to do it every day because those reminders of you know mess ups, problems, failures, going big, you know, doing great things, the successes, like I always have to keep that in check and in mind so I'm not forgetting like you know the current purpose.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:11SPEAKER_01: And I think it's good for social proof, one, but also I mean, I I don't know how how long have you been creating content?
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: I'd say like three years now.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: So I'm sure if you look back a year, two years, three years, like, dude, that content was horrible.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's creative.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: But like so, it's it's really good to have that and see the growth.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: Um, and then I mean, um maybe a year from now you'll look back at your content today and be like, what was that?
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: Dude, right?
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: That's the thing.
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: Like, I think the best content creators look back at their videos and literally just watch them.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: It's cringy as fudge, but like those are the I mean Kobe Bryant did it with like when he was playing basketball for the Lakers, and and he would watch his tape every single game he played, every game, yeah, to see how he can improve and get better.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: Several times too.
- 19:01SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: And I mean, we're talking hours upon hours.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: He just watches tape, you know.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's like that's that's true greatness right there.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: Like finding the inner like the inequalities that you can figure out how to improve, um, like incremental steps, that's huge.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: And over time, that compounds, yeah.
- 19:22SPEAKER_01: Excuse me.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: Going back to business a little bit, yeah.
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: Excuse me.
- 19:26SPEAKER_01: Wow, um with my voice.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: I think it's for me personally, but when I look at it, it's like it's much easier to build a business.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: Um, but what I've what I've seen from you is you are now buying businesses, which I feel like can be a lot harder.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: You have to deal with the structure.
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: Do we want to do this as a stock deal?
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: Which obviously, like, you know, you're not dealing with like publicly traded companies, but yeah, yeah.
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: Do you do we want to do this stock?
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: Do we want to do it cash?
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: You want to do it, you know, some sort of owner financing?
- 19:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, uh, what's the valuation and so on?
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: So many different numbers and so many different metrics and yada yada yada.
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: How am I gonna take over?
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: What's the takeover night, you know, 90-day, 180-day, five-year, 10-year plan?
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: How have you found yourself in this space of buying businesses from people who I assume I could be wrong, but I assume they're much older than you.
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, how have you been able to one get the respect?
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: Uh, I assume it's a lot of proof of concept from your own business, and two successfully acquired your first business, and we just mentioned you were looking to buy your second business, a uh an established landscaping business in Florida as well.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, part of it's just like just doing it.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: Like, just doesn't matter how young or old you are, you just do it.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: And so, whatever credibility you got, I mean, I I say now, like, I don't have too much credibility.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I built this business, but like I'm not gonna lie, I don't I don't have the amount of credibility like for the deals I want to do in the future.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm trying to reach billion dollar deals, and in order to do that, I need to start now with um you know maybe some smaller deals to see how structurally I can build these businesses over time to create that credibility.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and so just part of it's literally just doing it, calling people, cold calling, just say, hey, you know, what's your five or ten year plans?
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm just a young entrepreneur, just be honest with them, yeah.
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: And just say, hey, I'm you know, we could either talk about merging or talk about how we could franchise this or yeah, whatever, or buy you out, whatever your plans are, like everybody's different.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: So I just try to make it where I'm like trying to help them and their needs because I like they it's their own life, it's their own business, and like I want it to align it to their goals, you know.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: However, those conversations gone for the most part.
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: I assume like a lot of them are like kind of weirded out at first, but then maybe you have some good conversations.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean I've talked to anywhere from you know half a million to five million dollars.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Companies, and we've looked at yeah, revenue-wise, and so I mean I've looked at all those, and you know, none of them has worked out, and some of them, some of the times just like real estate, you gotta look at a hundred deals just to find that that right one, and I want to make sure my reputation is gonna be safe with finding the deal, and it's alright to say no, like it's alright to say no to the deals, even though you reached out, it's alright to say no, yeah, because it's your it's your butt on that line, yeah.
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: And so um, yeah, I don't know.
- 22:30SPEAKER_01: It's and in real estate, we typically I think it's for us we make 10,000 cold call for like one deal.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: Dude, exactly like it's a lot of volume before you actually get a deal.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's not easy, but like it's just the consistency, consistency of just like anything else.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: And um, yeah, I've gotten people that have said no, like believe me, they some act like they're pissed off and like you know, get the fudge away from me.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know, like why are you calling me?
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: It's like, but I'm just you know, generally asking asking these people like what's your five, ten year goals and plans.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm trying to create relationships and not like and do you do that over the phone or do you do that once you've met them in person, usually?
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: Typically, like, I mean it depends.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: Like, I'll do both.
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: It seemed like when you first call them, you're talking to a sales rep or something too.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:17SPEAKER_00: So, like, I'll what I'll try to do is I'll call the company number and just be like, hey, I'm just looking for the owner, you know, a message to the owner, or can I have their email or whatever?
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: And most of the time they won't respond, they'll be like, freak you, you know, or whatever, or what do you want?
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: Like, right, and then most of the time they'll say no, but there's definitely some interest and yeses and follow-up too is huge.
- 23:41SPEAKER_00: I think um if you don't get responses, don't give up, keep following up.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: I'd say definitely like three or four times, just keep following up and show up consistently so they see that you're actually interested, yeah.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: Um, and they'll see your name, and they're like, what's up with this guy?
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: He's got he keeps showing up.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: So like that's what you wanna that's what you wanna show up as for people because consistency.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the consistency and the persistence is huge because when you're trying to reach a goal, there's gonna be a lot of kickback on you.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: Like, there's gonna be a lot of adversity, a lot.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and it takes time.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: What I found is you have to go through I I literally told someone a couple months ago, um, like, dude, I I enjoy when times are hard more than I enjoy when times are good, because oftentimes when times are hard, uh, that's when you're growing the most.
- 24:30SPEAKER_01: So and and then also I think of mentors, especially being 20-year-old entrepreneurs, mentors both in a spiritual sense, a business sense, and so on.
- 24:40SPEAKER_01: And I think that's something that you've done a good job at, is from what I've seen, is you're you've surrounded yourself with some really good mentors who are ahead of you in in spiritual and business sense.
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: But one of the things I've found is it's very, very easy for people that are around us to be like, oh man, you're doing such a great job, yada yada yada.
- 25:01SPEAKER_01: And like you're above average, but you're so far, and I'm talking to myself right now, you're so far, sure.
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: Uh even though I, you know, I know what your goals are too, but you're so far, and I'm so far from where I want to be, and it's like, man, I don't want people to just it it brings me no value for you to tell me how good I'm doing.
- 25:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and and often oftentimes too, it's kind of hard to take it in, it's hard to take a compliment.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: But what I found is that the most valuable people are those that are willing to both be kind.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: I I sent someone text the other day.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: Uh I said, kindness is great, but kindness paired with candor is transformative.
- 25:41SPEAKER_01: Which if you can tell me where I can improve while still being kind about it, you know, not being an asshole.
- 25:49SPEAKER_01: You're not like you're not fake either, to not telling the real truth of how you can improve.
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know what you mean.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: Because I I I think for some people that you see what we're doing, it is it is you're doing you're doing so great, you're doing better than I am, so I can't really give you that candor.
- 26:03SPEAKER_01: Uh I don't have the context, but for some people it's just like I feel like they're afraid to hurt feelings or or whatever the case may be.
- 26:10SPEAKER_01: Have you found the same thing in your life with your mentors that they they're both kind, but they're also candorous to where they genuinely are helping you get to that next level you want to get to?
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, that's a great question.
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: I I have mentors that genuinely just want to like give back to me.
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: I I feel like they're they're very kind, but some some are like stubborn and some are like really like straight to the point, and I like that honestly, because it's giving me perspective like dude, I'm doing something wrong here.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: Right, you know what I mean?
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: If I don't know what I'm doing wrong, like how am I supposed to fix it?
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: You know?
- 26:44SPEAKER_00: Like I don't because like I don't have the experience they do, yeah, you know, and so I'm trying to figure that out.
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: I literally don't want to regret anything in my life.
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: Like when I'm 85, I do not want to regret a single bit.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: I want to be like, I went all out for the Lord, and there was not one day I regretted because I would not be here if it wasn't for him, and and just not being lazy, period, you know.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: So I but like I'm thankful for my mentors because they they they keep me accountable for that, you know?
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I know their lives are crazy and busy and their schedules are you know nuts compared to mine, but like I'm I'm thankful to get that time from them because they are like sometimes brutally honest, like your numbers are trash, like you know, you need to learn your numbers because you ain't gonna do well in business if you don't know your numbers, and uh so I that's what I've learned, and I'm I've been thankful for that because I I truly listen.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: And I as you as you're getting mentored, like you just gotta listen.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: That's the biggest part about it.
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: What have been the hardest, I would say kind of hardest soft challenges for you growing your business and growing yourself?
- 27:56SPEAKER_01: Because I think one of the biggest things I think of is you know patience.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: Like I having these billion dollar goals, but being at a million, it's like I you know Alex Ramosy says if if you don't make if you don't know how to make a million dollars a year, you're it's costing you a million dollars minus whatever you're making per year.
- 28:12SPEAKER_01: If you want to make a billion dollars, yeah, imagine how much that's costing you.
- 28:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, dude.
- 28:17SPEAKER_01: What I'm assuming patience has been one of the biggest lessons you've learned, maybe I don't know.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:22SPEAKER_01: What are the other soft kind of lessons that you've had to learn, even though you don't, you know, want to, but it's something that you have to just kind of think stoically or logically about.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'd say being like present in the moment has been a huge one.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, dude, I will get like so caught up in the future.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: Like, I didn't have a past that was like terrible.
- 28:45SPEAKER_00: I know like some people might have past that like they didn't grow up and they they're they're more focused on the past, right?
- 28:50SPEAKER_00: And living the past.
- 28:51SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm the complete opposite, living towards the future.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: Because like I'm an optimistic guy, right?
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm gonna go big and do amazing things in the in the life that I'm living, and so and I'm called to live.
- 29:03SPEAKER_00: So like I've yeah, that's definitely been by far the hardest.
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: And I'd say just being content with what I have now because everything that we have here is is gonna help us to get to that next level.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: Um, and so God's always God's hand is already on us, and like it like and we just gotta be obedient to like not doing our way but his way, and he has a timing for everything.
- 29:29SPEAKER_00: And his timing is beyond perfect, and I'm seeing that every single day.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: And like if I feel like if I'm doing things on my own, I don't see and encounter Jesus as much during my day.
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: If I were to like literally just let go and just live out brainless as painless, right?
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: And just feel like you know, I don't have to think like a freak, yeah, because you're making the money for you.
- 29:52SPEAKER_01: Could just go do god knows what, and yeah, while your business runs in the background supporting that lifestyle.
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: It's huge, like, and it's just a discipline, honestly.
- 30:02SPEAKER_00: It's it's like uh it's very hard discipline.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: Um, I think focus has been a tough one too for me.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think for any entrepreneur, right?
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: You know, like I'm trying to stay focused because like there's so much information in this world, bro.
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: Like, people were trying to pull you away and like, oh, do this Bitcoin, crypto, real estate.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: I'm like, dude, I'm just trying to focus on one of two things and get really good at it, and like that's that's the that's the key part, dude.
- 30:28SPEAKER_00: Because like a lot of times people focus on 20 million different things and they'll get nowhere in life, yeah.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: But the the things that you focus on that are like one or two things, and you get really, really, really good at it, over time, bro, you'll be the the top dog.
- 30:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I that I had an interview a few months ago, and we were talking about like why people aren't successful today, and we were talking about like you know, with the with the internet, it used to be we have an information problem.
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: Now everyone, you know what to do.
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you just don't want to do it, and honestly, I kind of see why they don't want to do it because you know, when you're building a business, like for example, when I was building my my business for the first few months, cold calling my own, yeah, not making any money, no one wants to do that.
- 31:15SPEAKER_01: No one wants to go cold call, you know, eight, ten, twelve hours, whatever it is a day with no reward.
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's super, super boring, that's super dissatisfying, that makes you feel bad about yourself even sometimes if you don't have that strong, that strong mindset and and in the long-term mindset.
- 31:31SPEAKER_01: So I I can see how you know people can get dis uh dissatisfied or disencouraged and stop.
- 31:38SPEAKER_01: Um but yeah, also I mean that's definitely something I've fallen into uh when I was first starting my business, uh, which I which I think as you build your business it can get I'm thinking of Alex Thermosy again.
- 31:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, he he brought up the Matrix movie, um, where you know the woman in a red dress, the woman in a red dress gets hotter and hotter and hotter as you get bigger and bigger and bigger in life.
- 32:04SPEAKER_01: And you know, you might have at if you're at a million, you might have a million dollar opportunity, but if you if you go after that, instead of your business becoming 10 million, it goes maybe three million and then you have that million, so you're at four million.
- 32:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right?
- 32:18SPEAKER_01: Rather than ten and then a hundred and you know billion eventually.
- 32:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:21SPEAKER_01: So yeah, just being focused, but I think I don't know, I I I think there is a time and place for everything.
- 32:32SPEAKER_01: I think that sometimes if you have the bandwidth for it and you have the team, then you can pursue other opportunities, and that's how you grow.
- 32:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: Um, especially, you know, going into private equity.
- 32:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I I I don't know.
- 32:48SPEAKER_00: I've it's been it's been an odd dynamic.
- 32:52SPEAKER_00: I think every season changes too in life.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: Like you'll have different stuff that's like, oh, this is a challenge personally, like, to do, you know.
- 33:00SPEAKER_01: Where do you find your drive?
- 33:02SPEAKER_01: Is it mostly doing your best to build God's kingdom?
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: Because that like for me recently I've shifted from, you know, I did have a less enjoyable past with I was obese and mental health and all that, yeah.
- 33:16SPEAKER_01: Which kind of for a while it motivated me.
- 33:18SPEAKER_01: I didn't want that, I didn't want to let that go.
- 33:21SPEAKER_01: Because I was like, man, if I let this go, I'm gonna lose my motivation because that's really what drives me.
- 33:26SPEAKER_01: And recently, like literally a month ago, maybe less, that's really shifted after I met someone who's been a mentor to me, uh, and I'm I think to you as well, Ethan Fernover, yeah, he really taught me peace.
- 33:38SPEAKER_01: And my mindset has shifted from being driven by my past to being driven towards the future and doing my best to build God's kingdom.
- 33:48SPEAKER_01: Because I do feel like if you are if you are not doing your all, then you are genuinely doing a disservice to yourself, to your family, to your community, and to the world and to God.
- 34:00SPEAKER_01: Um so I'm curious what drives you to keep continue building?
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:07SPEAKER_00: That's really good.
- 34:08SPEAKER_00: I uh I think um our relationship with Christ has like definitely helped repel it like big time.
- 34:26SPEAKER_00: Hugely, like big time.
- 34:28SPEAKER_00: I think I I believe that God speaks in different ways, and so for me personally, he speaks to me sometimes through vision.
- 34:37SPEAKER_00: Um literally, and I can just see it like very clearly on what that is.
- 34:43SPEAKER_00: Um I don't know when it's gonna happen, but like I know for a fact that it's it's gonna happen, yeah, because it's just so clear.
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: My my puny little mind can never think like that.
- 34:54SPEAKER_00: You know, God is so big and we think it's so big, but that's like just a little sliver of like his purpose and to build his kingdom.
- 35:02SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I um I think definitely I know it's like generic, but like the Lord has definitely the relationship I have with him has helped propel me every single day to live the calling that he's literally wanting me to live with him ever and uh and yeah, I do mess up.
- 35:20SPEAKER_00: I do I do fall short all the time, every day, matter of fact, but but uh I feel like progression is is uh is what it will help like fuel the drive to keep moving forward and I love I love building opportunity, creating opportunity.
- 35:38SPEAKER_00: Um and so I just I feel like God makes us differently and uh in different ways and He's built me to like to have that drive to always just like let's keep doing it.
- 35:51SPEAKER_00: Like I want more, I want more.
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: It's okay to have that, it's just you you can't allow it to consume you though, because if that consumes you then you'll be discontent um with a lot of ways and and areas in your life, and you won't be thankful for a lot of things that God's blessed you with already, you know.
- 36:09SPEAKER_01: It what you just said reminds me of a quote I heard on a speech a couple months ago in a men's group where the speaker was talking about faith is God showing you, you know, the end result where you want to be, but he won't show you the the steps there, the way there, because that's where you need to be faithful, right?
- 36:32SPEAKER_01: And it you know, I I I have this vision of myself, you know, inspiring people because I really want to inspire people because of my my past.
- 36:41SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 36:42SPEAKER_01: And I don't know how I'm gonna get there entirely.
- 36:46SPEAKER_01: Obviously, it's it's good to be responsible and to like build your plan and everything, but also you have to balance that.
- 36:51SPEAKER_00: Um you just don't know.
- 36:55SPEAKER_00: Like sometimes like it's okay to not know how to get there.
- 36:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:58SPEAKER_00: Because if you if you had it all figured out, we wouldn't need God, you know what I mean?
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 37:02SPEAKER_01: Like, and so I feel like yeah, that's what a lot of you know, entrepreneurs, I feel like that's how they are driven away from God is they see that early success and they're like, well, I'm I'm good on my own.
- 37:13SPEAKER_01: They're comfortable, yeah.
- 37:14SPEAKER_01: They're comfortable.
- 37:16SPEAKER_01: As a young entrepreneur, what have been, I guess, the biggest lessons you've learned that if you were if you were starting over again and not making money and you were uncomfortable, you were, I don't know, either living with your parents or you were barely making rent, so you had to, you know, probably go get a second job or something.
- 37:34SPEAKER_01: What are the biggest lessons and the biggest challenges uh you face?
- 37:38SPEAKER_01: Because I assume those go hand in hand.
- 37:40SPEAKER_01: You you face this challenge because of that challenge, you learned a lesson on the back end of it.
- 37:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 37:45SPEAKER_00: Um I'd say cash flow is king in building a business.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: You don't have cash flow, you're gonna die.
- 37:54SPEAKER_00: Super quick.
- 37:55SPEAKER_00: And so uh I've learned that early on, and I'm still learning that right now.
- 38:01SPEAKER_00: So, like it's a challenge.
- 38:03SPEAKER_00: Like, cash flow is uh, especially in a very labor-intensive business, yeah.
- 38:08SPEAKER_00: You have a lot of expense with labor, um, you know, vendors, trucks, trailers, whatever.
- 38:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, and so you really gotta you gotta be very mindful of how and where the the flow of money goes within your business.
- 38:22SPEAKER_00: So I'd say cash flow.
- 38:24SPEAKER_00: I'd say I wouldn't regret anything because I know where wherever I go is like where God is, I know, leading me.
- 38:30SPEAKER_00: Right, and that's alright.
- 38:32SPEAKER_00: And so uh, but I would maybe change, like I've thought about like doing like an internship with um one of my mentors, maybe in private equity or real estate, and just getting that experience.
- 38:43SPEAKER_00: Um and that's humbling if you're building a million dollar business to go work for free.
- 38:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'll I would work for free, like no joke, just to get experience.
- 38:52SPEAKER_00: I might like pay them, you know what I mean, like pay them for the experience because yeah, dude, experience is very uh like the good, good quality experience is very hard to come by, you know, with a lot of like find the right right um people to that already have and went through what they went through.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: So I think it's uh I've been thinking about that recently, the internship.
- 39:19SPEAKER_00: Um, but I want if I'm gonna do it, it's gonna be with a huge dude, like huge dog, guy or gal, whatever, right?
- 39:26SPEAKER_00: Doing big things and just learning, like just listening, watching, um, how and what they're doing, and like how they how they react on a daily basis um to getting to their next level, right?
- 39:40SPEAKER_00: Um so I'd say that's what I would probably change, and I'm like, I can still do it because we're still young, right?
- 39:47SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 39:47SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 39:48SPEAKER_01: But yeah.
- 39:49SPEAKER_01: One thing I'm thinking about is college, and obviously you didn't go to college, yeah.
- 39:56SPEAKER_01: How in a world that tells you you need to go to college to be successful, how did you become successful without going to college?
- 40:06SPEAKER_01: And how do you continue to learn without having that college degree?
- 40:11SPEAKER_01: Um, because I think you know I I I'm definitely on I'm I'm definitely on the same wavelength as as you are for college.
- 40:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:20SPEAKER_00: No, I uh I was never a fan of school, and I think it's alright.
- 40:24SPEAKER_00: It's you know, if you want to go to school, fine.
- 40:26SPEAKER_00: I like yeah, that's all good.
- 40:28SPEAKER_00: You know, it's not for everyone to not go to school, and so I uh I think if you want to be an entrepreneur, it's definitely not needed.
- 40:37SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 40:37SPEAKER_00: I can tell you that now.
- 40:38SPEAKER_00: I don't care what industry it is, like real estate, you know, building a software, I don't care.
- 40:44SPEAKER_00: You just don't really need it.
- 40:46SPEAKER_00: Um and you don't need all that student loan debt, right?
- 40:49SPEAKER_00: But and the time, I mean you're talking four years.
- 40:52SPEAKER_01: I think the time is that's more valuable than four years.
- 40:56SPEAKER_01: I I I was in an area, I was in a uh in a conference a couple weeks ago in New York where I was surrounded by MBA students, and I'm like, I was jokingly telling them, and and it I you know it's a it's an actual reality, but I was jokingly telling them, dude, I'm a high school dropout.
- 41:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I was kind of telling them that, but it like in the back of my mind, I was kind of making fun of them for thinking they need an MBA you know degree in order to be successful, whereas I'm building you know this big business, a thri a business that's already thriving.
- 41:29SPEAKER_01: It's not just you know something I'm talking about, yeah.
- 41:32SPEAKER_01: And I'm a high school dropout, like I have my GEV, but like formal education is so overrated, and I think you can learn a lot more both from doing but also from mentors who have done, and and I think also the ability to be humble and work in a work in an office with someone who's way, way ahead of you that you have a personal relationship with for free, yeah, when you're building already this big thing is gonna be massively impactful on the long term.
- 42:01SPEAKER_01: That's what you know again, uh you can tell I listened to a lot of Alex Ramosy.
- 42:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but again, he's always talking about you know expanding that time horizon.
- 42:09SPEAKER_01: Because if I I saw a YouTube short of um maybe today, where he was talking about, you know, if if you are looking to make money this year, then there's not too many options.
- 42:20SPEAKER_01: But if you're looking to make money on 10 years from now, you know, a million dollars ten years from now, then there's a ton of options.
- 42:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 42:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 42:29SPEAKER_01: Um and and obviously, like we have, you know, drive to make much more than$10 million or a million dollars in the next 10 years.
- 42:35SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I think informal education and practical real life education, doing the thing will always be more valuable.
- 42:44SPEAKER_01: But so, with that said, if you could leave the audience with one piece of actionable advice, what would that be?
- 42:56SPEAKER_00: Bro, go big.
- 42:58SPEAKER_00: Like, go as big as you can possibly like do it because you only got one life, literally, one.
- 43:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, people don't realize it, but there's one life to live, so why not just do what seems impossible to you, but it's only possible with the Lord.
- 43:15SPEAKER_00: So, like I I would just say go all out, you know what seems impossible to you and not to somebody else, yeah.
- 43:24SPEAKER_00: Because that's gonna help push you um to the next level, and it's gonna get you comfortable with the uncomfortable, and I think everybody needs to experience that.
- 43:33SPEAKER_00: So I'd say just go huge, think bigger, you know what I mean?
- 43:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, why not you?
- 43:38SPEAKER_01: If someone if someone else can do it, why can't you?
- 43:40SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 43:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:41SPEAKER_01: What do you say to the people that waste time with pornography, scrolling through social media, and all that when you know they they might have those desires, but it they seem so far fetched.
- 43:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:57SPEAKER_01: How can they just start, or maybe it is.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: Just have you they just have to start and that's it.
- 44:02SPEAKER_01: You have to take in the pain.
- 44:03SPEAKER_01: What do you say to people like that?
- 44:06SPEAKER_00: I mean I never I never grew up in the pornography.
- 44:12SPEAKER_00: Like I never actually watched that stuff, you know, which is a complete blessing.
- 44:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 44:17SPEAKER_01: Because I know a lot of people in this day and age, that's when you first told me that I'm like I didn't I was like skeptical.
- 44:25SPEAKER_00: It's crazy.
- 44:25SPEAKER_00: Like I literally have not I have not done it.
- 44:29SPEAKER_00: I know a lot of my friends have and stuff.
- 44:31SPEAKER_00: Obviously, a lot of dudes do it, yeah.
- 44:33SPEAKER_00: Even girls do it, like I did, but it's like it's uh you know, I I I don't know to be honest, like how, but I would just say I'd just say like try to work out the best way you can with breaking the bad habits in your life, um, letting it go, letting go of the bad people that are in your life, the bad influences, the bad girlfriend, whatever, right, and really focus on building you first because if you are not built first, then you can't then you cannot help build anybody else.
- 45:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, period.
- 45:08SPEAKER_00: So I say build yourself first personally, then you can help a lot of people.
- 45:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 45:14SPEAKER_01: And something I've heard around that is you can't really stop thinking bad thoughts, but what you can do is you can replace those thoughts with good thoughts.
- 45:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 45:24SPEAKER_01: So, you know, I think of, and I don't think you were there, but a group that we're in together, Christian Connector with Jamar Wright, uh, we did a physical example of, you know, we were someone I I think it was me actually, that was like I was in a chair and someone's trying to squeeze in.
- 45:38SPEAKER_01: That's a devil, that's those are those negative thoughts.
- 45:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 45:40SPEAKER_01: But if you just stay faithful to God, you keep God on top of mind, and you keep, you know, for me, what was pivotal and even before I came to God was was uh physical health.
- 45:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I built my physical health, I built my mental health back up before I was able to build a business.
- 45:58SPEAKER_01: And ironically, I I also didn't see any entrepreneurial success until I had developed a relationship with God.
- 46:04SPEAKER_01: And obviously, like I'm still developing and still learning more and more about his word and everything to this day, but yeah, um, yeah, I think that'll that'll do it.
- 46:12SPEAKER_01: Justin, thank you so much for being on here to the audience.

- 47:03SPEAKER_01: So, what I always say is what do I always say?
- 47:08SPEAKER_01: I just forgot what I always say.
- 47:10SPEAKER_01: What is my quote?
- 47:13SPEAKER_01: Two.
- 47:14SPEAKER_01: What is my quote?
- 47:15SPEAKER_00: I forget it too.
- 47:15SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't even know, but share this episode with someone who can take value.
