- 0:48Speaker 2: It is time to leave your warriors outside and laugh
- 0:51Speaker 2: with us inside the Treehouse. I'm Dan Olmley along with
- 0:55Speaker 2: Trey Trendholm and Raj Sharma. Thank you for joining us today.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Today we will begin with NASA shocking news. NASA says
- 1:07Speaker 2: Earth is running out of oxygen, which means two things.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Number one, the lack of oxygen might explain why so
- 1:15Speaker 2: many of us keep doing and saying so many stupid things.
- 1:19Speaker 2: And number two, and this is my favorite one, the
- 1:23Speaker 2: plot of Spaceballs just got real. Granted, the NASA timeline
- 1:34Speaker 2: is a long way away of when it says Earth
- 1:37Speaker 2: may run out of oxygen something to the tune of
- 1:39Speaker 2: a billion years from now. But it's new information and
- 1:44Speaker 2: they're saying it's you know, the oxygen is being depleted
- 1:48Speaker 2: at a level a little more accelerated than I think
- 1:51Speaker 2: they originally thought. Look, I mean when I was a kid,
- 1:54Speaker 2: I think we were all taught in school that eventually
- 1:57Speaker 2: the Sun is going to keep growing because it's a
- 2:00Speaker 2: yellow star, it'll eventually get bigger. And when it gets
- 2:02Speaker 2: bigger to more like a red star, it will just eventually,
- 2:06Speaker 2: you know, melt Earth. It'll get big enough where the
- 2:10Speaker 2: Earth will melt in its present, but we'll all be
- 2:15Speaker 2: long long gone before that happens. I think that was
- 2:17Speaker 2: in the neighborhood of five or seven billion years when
- 2:21Speaker 2: the Sun was going to melt Earth. Well, we're going
- 2:24Speaker 2: to run out of air long before that, sort of
- 2:26Speaker 2: like the billion year mark. But any of us really
- 2:29Speaker 2: think humans will still be around to run out of
- 2:32Speaker 2: air in a billion years?
- 2:35Speaker 1: No, No, I think the Earth will do what the
- 2:38Speaker 1: Earth seems to do, and that is something cataclysmic will happen,
- 2:42Speaker 1: wipe everyone out. There'll be lush greenery everywhere, and the
- 2:45Speaker 1: oxygen will be replenished.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Yeah, look at all this air and no a holes
- 2:50Speaker 2: to suck it all up. Yeah, all the cockroaches are
- 2:55Speaker 2: still going to be saying, told you this planet's ours.
- 3:01Speaker 2: It really is amazing though to think like in terms
- 3:04Speaker 2: of the life span of the galaxy the planet our
- 3:09Speaker 2: own individual lives, how obviously minusculeed it is. But according
- 3:13Speaker 2: to this new study where NASA scientists believe Earth's atmosphere
- 3:17Speaker 2: will collapse within the next billion years, but before that happens,
- 3:21Speaker 2: experts reckon, the decline will first begin only ten thousand
- 3:24Speaker 2: years from now. Which is it as far away as
- 3:27Speaker 2: it sounds, Yes, it is in human brains, Yes it
- 3:35Speaker 2: is in space time. No, that's like a blink of
- 3:40Speaker 2: an eye. But to us humans, ten thousand years that's
- 3:43Speaker 2: a long time, right, That's why none of us are
- 3:46Speaker 2: really worried about it. But scientists from NASA and Japan's
- 3:50Speaker 2: Toho University concentrated on the relationship between the planet's oxygen
- 3:55Speaker 2: levels and the Sun's gradual warming when trying to understand
- 3:58Speaker 2: the evolution of Earth's app sphere. As we all know,
- 4:00Speaker 2: the Earth's climate is set to get hotter, but when
- 4:03Speaker 2: you might not know. What you might not know is
- 4:05Speaker 2: that the Sun's luminosity is also anticipated to increase. So
- 4:12Speaker 2: as that happens, bad things happen. So, as Trey put it,
- 4:20Speaker 2: very very wisely, eventually the planet will do what it does.
- 4:23Speaker 2: It'll wipe off the you know, the major species and
- 4:26Speaker 2: start back over and things will be pretty.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Or maybe the other way around, when it could be
- 4:33Speaker 3: an ice age, right, That's.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Why I said something catasclysmic. I mean it, Yeah, you
- 4:39Speaker 1: could have you know, a younger, dryest type thing where
- 4:42Speaker 1: just to you know, fragments of a comet just bounce
- 4:46Speaker 1: off the Earth's atmosphere, but just enough to cause basically
- 4:48Speaker 1: a nuclear winter, white almost everyone out and start.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Over, save mother nature the trouble.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Yeah, Trey, how do you not write for Hallmark?
- 4:59Speaker 2: He does. It's just you know how they have the
- 5:02Speaker 2: shoe box collection. Tray's cards are the ones that are
- 5:06Speaker 2: in the shoe box under the bed with the pets.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Ashes, the Ethic collection.
- 5:16Speaker 2: I actually think we should do that Tray's greeting cards.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Oh yeah, for special occasions, birthdays, graduations, romantic holidays.
- 5:25Speaker 3: We can have air and do the artwork you do
- 5:28Speaker 3: the yeah text.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean some of these kind of write themselves.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I mean, NASA says the Earth will run out of
- 5:35Speaker 2: air in a billion years, but yours will run out
- 5:38Speaker 2: much sooner than that if you don't pick what we're
- 5:43Speaker 2: gonna have for dinner.
- 5:46Speaker 3: On your ninetieth birthday, Nana.
- 5:52Speaker 1: What's the point.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Tray's gonna tell his mom this horrible is that NASA
- 6:00Speaker 2: just discovered and he's going to show her her brand
- 6:03Speaker 2: new NASA pillow. So the ultimate reason I wanted to
- 6:09Speaker 2: share this story wasn't because it's obviously it's not impending
- 6:13Speaker 2: to him or anything, but because it actually had me
- 6:16Speaker 2: thinking that Spaceballs and the plot of space Balls could
- 6:19Speaker 2: actually happen to planet Earth just way after we're gone.
- 6:22Speaker 2: That being said, this kind of goes back to the
- 6:25Speaker 2: conversation Trey now we're having last week about essential movies,
- 6:29Speaker 2: especially when you get into a new relationship like Trey is.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Trey is in a new relationship and Raj he discovered
- 6:36Speaker 2: recently that his new lady has not seen some of
- 6:39Speaker 2: the movies he has, which threw him for a loop.
- 6:43Speaker 2: She's ten years younger, so it kind of makes sense.
- 6:46Speaker 2: But Trey, what was one of the movies? You were
- 6:47Speaker 2: really surprised that she hadn't seen.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Star Wars for one, just because she's a big Jay
- 6:54Speaker 1: and silent Bob fan. And uh, as you pointed out,
- 6:58Speaker 1: you know, Jalen, Silent Bob Strikes Back is just laced
- 7:03Speaker 1: with Star Wars references.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Yeah, Raj, you're in a new relationship as well. Are
- 7:09Speaker 2: there any moments like that that you've had with your
- 7:11Speaker 2: new your new love interst or you thought you haven't
- 7:14Speaker 2: seen that?
- 7:16Speaker 3: No, I think the genres of movies that we enjoy
- 7:20Speaker 3: are wildly different, and so I like when I I asked,
- 7:27Speaker 3: I'm like, have you ever seen like The Godfather? Godfather too?
- 7:33Speaker 1: Yes?
- 7:33Speaker 3: Yes? Have you seen a Bronx Tail? No? Uh, you
- 7:36Speaker 3: gotta watch that? And she like, you know that she's
- 7:41Speaker 3: like stranger things. I think something she would like or
- 7:44Speaker 3: you know, so I really haven't crossed into them, but
- 7:49Speaker 3: anything that she'll put on like, I'll watch, Like, I
- 7:51Speaker 3: don't mind.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Do you do you ever find your Have you ever
- 7:54Speaker 2: tried to force her or any other relationship you've been
- 7:58Speaker 2: in to watch a movie that you should be required viewing.
- 8:03Speaker 3: No, I'll tell them why I like it and why
- 8:06Speaker 3: they should watch it, and who's in it might intrigue
- 8:08Speaker 3: them as well, if it's you know, somebody that that's
- 8:11Speaker 3: the favorite actor of theirs, or or somebody that you know,
- 8:15Speaker 3: likes that sort of storyline or you know, so on
- 8:17Speaker 3: and so forth. But no, I've never actually sat somebody
- 8:19Speaker 3: sit down and watch this.
- 8:22Speaker 1: If you love me, you.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Will watch this, all right, So take it more broad
- 8:28Speaker 2: not just romantically. But what's a movie that when someone
- 8:31Speaker 2: tells you they haven't seen it, it shocks you, Trey
- 8:35Speaker 2: you threw out, like with your new girlfriend Star Wars.
- 8:37Speaker 2: I think that is one that if someone say they've
- 8:39Speaker 2: never seen any Star Wars anything, that's pretty surprising. But
- 8:42Speaker 2: you know, Raj is one of those people that hasn't
- 8:44Speaker 2: seen some things that shocks you and me, Trey.
- 8:48Speaker 3: But mine. I mean that's the genre I like is
- 8:50Speaker 3: like mom movies. So if you haven't seen The Godfather
- 8:55Speaker 3: like we have we have, we got to put aside
- 8:58Speaker 3: three hours uh for dinner one night because you're going
- 9:04Speaker 3: to see this movie. It's one of the greatest movies
- 9:06Speaker 3: ever made.
- 9:07Speaker 1: So mob movies, which one would you say, would you
- 9:10Speaker 1: do god Godfather over Goodfellows?
- 9:14Speaker 2: Yes, easily, Godfather or Godfather Too.
- 9:20Speaker 3: You can do the one where they combined the two
- 9:22Speaker 3: of them, which is pretty cool, but Godfather Too I
- 9:26Speaker 3: even enjoy. This is how sad I am like about
- 9:28Speaker 3: mob movies. I enjoyed three. That was the worst one. Wow, Yeah,
- 9:36Speaker 3: I even enjoyed that one.
- 9:38Speaker 2: You don't get to make fun of me and my
- 9:39Speaker 2: appreciation for the American ninja movie franchise after that admission
- 9:45Speaker 2: of you loving Godfather three, I enjoyed it.
- 9:49Speaker 3: I loved the first one. I love the second one.
- 9:51Speaker 3: I enjoyed you know, the trip back home and the
- 9:55Speaker 3: you know the stuff and the things with the daughter
- 9:57Speaker 3: and the you know, have something what Sunny's bastard child. Yeah.
- 10:06Speaker 2: I will say mob movies are a really difficult genre
- 10:10Speaker 2: to pick one that would be considered essential viewing because
- 10:13Speaker 2: there's so many good ones. I guess the king of
- 10:16Speaker 2: them would be Godfather. I guess it kind of started
- 10:19Speaker 2: the whole genre, but there's so many good ones that
- 10:23Speaker 2: came after it that it's really difficult to just pick one.
- 10:27Speaker 2: But so Trey Tara, my wife heard our conversation the
- 10:32Speaker 2: other day about some of the movies that your girlfriend
- 10:34Speaker 2: hasn't seen, and my wife told me that she hasn't
- 10:39Speaker 2: seen Jaws. I've known her for sixteen years, and I
- 10:44Speaker 2: always assumed that she had seen Jaws, because anytime I
- 10:48Speaker 2: would mention it, she knew what I was talking about,
- 10:50Speaker 2: but I didn't realize she's never actually seen the movie.
- 10:53Speaker 2: It's pop culture referenced enough that she knows a lot
- 10:56Speaker 2: about it and she knows certain things from it. But
- 11:00Speaker 2: she said, I haven't actually seen the whole movie, and
- 11:03Speaker 2: I said, okay. And again, she told me early on
- 11:07Speaker 2: that she had x's that forced her to watch movies,
- 11:09Speaker 2: kind of like you're saying, Raj, if you haven't seen
- 11:11Speaker 2: The Godfather, you need to see the Godfather kind of thing.
- 11:14Speaker 2: And I always told her, I will not do that
- 11:16Speaker 2: to you. I am definitely into movies more than she is,
- 11:19Speaker 2: but I'm not going to force you to watch a
- 11:21Speaker 2: movie you don't want to. That being said, she watched
- 11:24Speaker 2: Jaws this weekend.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Okay, and.
- 11:28Speaker 2: She definitely feels that CPS should have been called on
- 11:32Speaker 2: my parents for allowing five year old me to watch
- 11:35Speaker 2: that movie.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Yes, also, you should have made you should have brought
- 11:40Speaker 3: that up before you moved to the Islands to make
- 11:44Speaker 3: her watch Jaws.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Here's the thing, though, the Jaws movies nuts we live
- 11:52Speaker 2: in the Caribbean. Great white sharks are not that much
- 11:55Speaker 2: of a thing in the Caribbean. They're in much deeper
- 11:58Speaker 2: colder waters. So well, Caribbean great white is not an
- 12:02Speaker 2: issue until you get to Jaws four. It's Jaws one
- 12:08Speaker 2: and two that it's in the you know, the northeast
- 12:12Speaker 2: in the New England area. That's where you had to,
- 12:14Speaker 2: you know, to really watch out for him.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Yeah. I just think she's like, Babe, I just got
- 12:20Speaker 3: done watching Jaws and like, sweet, let's go for a swim.
- 12:25Speaker 2: But it's interesting because she she told me, and I
- 12:28Speaker 2: didn't realize. She's like, she's like, I don't think you
- 12:30Speaker 2: realize how often you reference Jaws. And I was like, well,
- 12:34Speaker 2: now you know why, Now now that you've seen the
- 12:36Speaker 2: movie and you know what it is and all the
- 12:38Speaker 2: things that are and I've seen it a bunch. And again,
- 12:41Speaker 2: the first time I watched it, I was like four
- 12:42Speaker 2: or five years old. You watch a movie like that
- 12:46Speaker 2: at that age, you damn right, it's going to impact you.
- 12:50Speaker 2: I mean, professionals call it childhood trauma by today's standards.
- 12:54Speaker 2: You you know, us it was just the eighties.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Is that why Tutsie had such an effect on you?
- 13:02Speaker 3: Working Girl.

- 15:42Speaker 2: cookdfw dot com. A fellow porn star is slamming Bonnie
- 15:48Speaker 2: Blue for wanting to film with barely legal teens. Now,
- 15:52Speaker 2: this is not anything new for Bonnie Blue, and because
- 15:57Speaker 2: of this, once again Bonnie Blue finds herself covered in controversy.
- 16:03Speaker 2: The former friend of controversial sex worker Bonnie Blue has
- 16:08Speaker 2: panned claims that the twenty six year old will be
- 16:10Speaker 2: in Australia for schoolies. I think this is kind of
- 16:13Speaker 2: how Bonnie Blue got her start. Bonnie Blue is the
- 16:15Speaker 2: one we've talked about on the show a handful of times.
- 16:18Speaker 2: She's the one that did the thousand guys and twelve
- 16:21Speaker 2: hours or something, and just it's all about exploits and
- 16:24Speaker 2: over the top porn things with her. She basically got
- 16:30Speaker 2: her start by convincing newly graduated Australian guys to be
- 16:38Speaker 2: in her adult projects. Right, and then now I guess
- 16:42Speaker 2: she's going back to her roots, and now she's being
- 16:45Speaker 2: slammed for it by fellow sex workers, which to me
- 16:48Speaker 2: is kind of fascinating. Schoolies. The annual Rite of Passage
- 16:54Speaker 2: where year twelve students in Australia blowoff steam after her
- 16:58Speaker 2: year of studying has also become the playground of adult
- 17:01Speaker 2: content creators. These creators film with barely legal teenagers and
- 17:05Speaker 2: upload the videos to their subscription sites to make money,
- 17:07Speaker 2: and it's caused uproar among parents in the past. One
- 17:10Speaker 2: of the most controversial to do this is, of course,
- 17:12Speaker 2: Bonnie Blue real name Tea Billinger. Last year, the Australian
- 17:17Speaker 2: government denied the British national a visa to get into
- 17:21Speaker 2: the country to film on the Gold Coast with the
- 17:24Speaker 2: schoolies' students as a backup play and she had a
- 17:27Speaker 2: Deafiji along with a friend to take part in this
- 17:33Speaker 2: annual event. Oh my God. Blue has claimed that despite
- 17:38Speaker 2: this issue of her Australian visa being canceled, she will
- 17:40Speaker 2: be hitting the Gold Coast for schoolies in twenty twenty five.
- 17:47Speaker 2: So my question to you guys is, if you're eighteen
- 17:51Speaker 2: years old, is this a good idea? Bonnie Blue comes
- 17:55Speaker 2: a knocking' and you decide to go a rocking.
- 18:01Speaker 3: And film it and put it out there forever. No,
- 18:05Speaker 3: that's what it is. That is a terrible idea unless unless,
- 18:09Speaker 3: unless that's the career you want to get into, then
- 18:12Speaker 3: that's a good start.
- 18:13Speaker 5: Uh.
- 18:14Speaker 3: You know, entry level position.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Gotta pay your dues.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Uh huh. But if you're like, hey, one day I
- 18:30Speaker 3: want to be a high powered attorney, that's a bad idea.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Unless unless your plan is to represent a sex workers.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Then then you again you can talk about you know,
- 18:44Speaker 3: past experience. I guess yeah, but no, I mean, none
- 18:48Speaker 3: of that's a good idea, Like that's that's just that's
- 18:52Speaker 3: a again, like I said, unless you're trying to get
- 18:56Speaker 3: into the industry, sure, that's a great, that's a great
- 19:00Speaker 3: I don't know if they call it a reel, But
- 19:05Speaker 3: I don't think there's a really big auditioning process outside
- 19:08Speaker 3: of the videos you see of the audition process. I
- 19:12Speaker 3: think you just kind of go to the place and
- 19:14Speaker 3: you sign up. Yeah, I'm like cool.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Last year, she went with Annie Knight, who has been
- 19:21Speaker 2: dubbed Australia's most sexually active woman, to take part in
- 19:24Speaker 2: the annual event, but after the pair relocated to a
- 19:27Speaker 2: popular resort in Nade during the annual student celebrations, Fiji's
- 19:31Speaker 2: Minister for Immigration declared Knight in blue or prohibited immigrants,
- 19:36Speaker 2: and deportation proceedings were commenced by local authorities. The two
- 19:39Speaker 2: then fled to the island. They fled the island nation
- 19:41Speaker 2: before they could formally be deported, so they deported themselves.
- 19:46Speaker 2: But now Annie Knight is basically saying this is not
- 19:50Speaker 2: a good idea. Stop. She says that Bonnie Blue is
- 19:53Speaker 2: taking advantage of these scoolies. Is she is this like,
- 19:59Speaker 2: is it preditor Tori or is she just taking advantage?
- 20:03Speaker 1: But they were doing it together in the pasty. Yes,
- 20:09Speaker 1: so she's had to change the heart.
- 20:14Speaker 2: It's it's look. Porn stars can also evolve. We all
- 20:19Speaker 2: of us have evolved on various issues in our lives.
- 20:22Speaker 2: You know, we might be more accepting of something now
- 20:24Speaker 2: that maybe we weren't ten, fifteen, twenty years ago. Maybe
- 20:27Speaker 2: Annie Knight has realized the airs of her ways and Bonnie's.
- 20:34Speaker 3: I don't think it's product. I mean they're getting paid,
- 20:36Speaker 3: I'm assuming. No, they're not getting paid. They're they're creating content.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Well, no, basically, I don't. I don't know if the
- 20:47Speaker 2: participants really get anything other than the action. I don't
- 20:51Speaker 2: think they get any sort of money for it. They
- 20:54Speaker 2: sign a release, then they release, and then Bonnie Blue
- 21:01Speaker 2: takes it all. It runs with it right to the bank.
- 21:05Speaker 3: That's a little exploitative, right, Yeah, that's.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Why I'm asking the questions, Like, look like I understand
- 21:12Speaker 2: as an eighteen year old guy, you might be like, yeah,
- 21:14Speaker 2: I want to do this, yeah Boddy bloo booo. But
- 21:17Speaker 2: then that's because you're eighteen and you don't really think
- 21:19Speaker 2: about things. You don't think about things long term. Yeah,
- 21:22Speaker 2: we're all you know, I hate to say it, but
- 21:24Speaker 2: we're all middle aged now. We know that that would
- 21:26Speaker 2: be a stupid thing to do, But it would be
- 21:28Speaker 2: very difficult for us at our age now to go
- 21:31Speaker 2: back to our eighteen year old selves and say, hey,
- 21:33Speaker 2: you don't want to do this, because do you think
- 21:37Speaker 2: do you think eighteen year old you would listen to you? Now?
- 21:42Speaker 3: I think eighteen year old me was smarter than me.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Now I think Trey would beat up his eighteen year.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Old Oh, I would absolutely whip his ass. But you know,
- 21:54Speaker 1: the question then becomes, so when we were eighteen, I
- 22:00Speaker 1: don't know. I think that you didn't have the Internet. Yeah,
- 22:05Speaker 1: I mean so there is the dividing line for me.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Eighteen year olds now they've now had it enough, they
- 22:13Speaker 1: know the Internet is forever.
- 22:15Speaker 2: That is true. That's an excellent point because we didn't
- 22:19Speaker 2: fully comprehend that back then eighteen year olds. Now, I'd
- 22:23Speaker 2: be shocked if they didn't fully realize that.
- 22:27Speaker 3: And you're signing a release, so it's going to say
- 22:30Speaker 3: that they own the image and the footage throughout the
- 22:34Speaker 3: universe of perpetuity if it's the actual release that they
- 22:38Speaker 3: make you sign a normal projects and not the adult ones.
- 22:43Speaker 3: But yeah, that's true. That's a great point. Like eighteen, well, yeah,
- 22:46Speaker 3: eighteen year old me and I don't remember who was
- 22:49Speaker 3: the biggest porn star back then, Jenna Jameson. I think, yeah,
- 22:54Speaker 3: and it comes up and is like you want to do this?
- 22:57Speaker 3: Like sure, okay, like it in my head I him
- 23:01Speaker 3: was like, where's this gonna Who's gonna see this? And
- 23:04Speaker 3: then I realized I live in Mesquite and there's a
- 23:06Speaker 3: lot of people. Like I said, when it was it
- 23:09Speaker 3: was hard for us to find porn as kids because
- 23:12Speaker 3: you had to befriend somebody whose dad had porn and
- 23:14Speaker 3: they weren't good people.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, it's not like it is now.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Yeah, he's like, my dad's got porn. I'm like, of
- 23:22Speaker 3: course he does. I thirteen with the neck tattoo, like,
- 23:25Speaker 3: of course he's got porn.
- 23:28Speaker 2: That's probably the that's probably just the tip of the iceberg.
- 23:32Speaker 2: But yeah, you asked, uh, like, why why Annie Knight
- 23:35Speaker 2: is now not approving of Bonnie Blue's antics, And she's
- 23:39Speaker 2: basically says it's because of the antics. So Annie Knight's
- 23:42Speaker 2: goal with her sex work is to destigmatize sex work,
- 23:46Speaker 2: whereas Bonnie Blue is all about the controversy and the
- 23:48Speaker 2: rage baiting. She's sort of like the stunt person, and
- 23:54Speaker 2: Annie's trying to take the more I don't know, legitimate,
- 24:02Speaker 2: credible avenue with it. I don't.
- 24:06Speaker 1: I don't.
- 24:07Speaker 2: At the end of the day, it's petty portn star drama.
- 24:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Uh.
- 24:14Speaker 3: And and who has a bigger following now, like it's
- 24:16Speaker 3: got to be Bonnie Blue as opposed to this lady.
- 24:21Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 24:21Speaker 3: I haven't looked, Okay, not even for the research for
- 24:25Speaker 3: the show, not yet. Let us know what you find out.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Yeah, sometimes the research needs to happen in two or
- 24:35Speaker 2: three parts. You're listening to the tree House, Visit us

- 25:18Speaker 2: Com shocking news over the weekend about Elon Musk's package
- 25:27Speaker 2: pay package. More specifically, uh Tesla shareholders approved Elon Musk's
- 25:33Speaker 2: one trillion dollar pay package. That is a standout headline.
- 25:40Speaker 2: While shocking and mad ding to some, it's important to
- 25:44Speaker 2: keep in mind that this is dominantly a stock pay package,
- 25:51Speaker 2: and it is laden with incentives, and not just incentives,
- 25:55Speaker 2: but targets that he slash tests has to hit in
- 26:01Speaker 2: order to qualify for these incentives to hit to possibly
- 26:06Speaker 2: make him the first trillionaire. Without knowing any of the details,
- 26:15Speaker 2: does this sound like he's gonna make too much money?
- 26:20Speaker 2: He's already worth like four hundred and fifty billion dollars.
- 26:24Speaker 3: Yeah, but he also has like three hundred and forty kids, so.
- 26:29Speaker 2: They don't pay for themselves yet.
- 26:31Speaker 3: He's going to need the money a lot of braces.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Well, that's one of the things. That's one of the
- 26:37Speaker 2: first things I thought of, was like, Man, if he's
- 26:38Speaker 2: going to make that much money, he's going to go
- 26:40Speaker 2: on a tear of making more kids. He's like, look,
- 26:41Speaker 2: how many more kids I can afford now? But yeah,
- 26:46Speaker 2: so Trey, what do you think? Just just face value
- 26:52Speaker 2: incentive and he has to hit all these targets, but
- 26:54Speaker 2: still a trillion dollar pay package.
- 26:57Speaker 1: For one that sounds more like self grandizing headline more
- 27:05Speaker 1: than anything. I mean, but you know, I mean, if
- 27:07Speaker 1: he makes a cyber truck that actually sells and runs,
- 27:09Speaker 1: I'd say that's worth a hundred billion right there.
- 27:12Speaker 2: I'm with you. I'm with you. So it's amazing to
- 27:15Speaker 2: me in part that he's worth as much money as
- 27:19Speaker 2: he is while having some products that aren't exactly phenomenal.
- 27:25Speaker 2: We are not fans of the cyber truck inside the Treehouse,
- 27:28Speaker 2: not because of any personal vendettas. It's just because it's
- 27:31Speaker 2: kind of a shitty truck. I mean, there's memes all
- 27:34Speaker 2: over the internet showing you and not to mention, you're
- 27:37Speaker 2: talking about a six figure vehicle that because of the
- 27:40Speaker 2: material it's made out of. Tree told us this a
- 27:43Speaker 2: few months ago. It's a fingerprint magnet. Like I'm not
- 27:48Speaker 2: even sure if the stainless steel stuff I clean my
- 27:51Speaker 2: refrigerator with will get the thumb prints off of your
- 27:53Speaker 2: cyber truck.
- 27:55Speaker 1: No, it's I mean, it is one of the great
- 27:59Speaker 1: debacles really of especially automotive. I mean, I mean I've
- 28:04Speaker 1: heard it, seen it. Compared to the edzul. I mean,
- 28:05Speaker 1: it's just just an absolute piece of shit. And I
- 28:10Speaker 1: mean seriously, they have there's thousands of them just sitting
- 28:14Speaker 1: in lots because they can't sell them anymore, because they're
- 28:20Speaker 1: just so ridden with problems. I mean that they can't
- 28:23Speaker 1: go through a fucking puddle.
- 28:25Speaker 3: I mean it's but I see so many of them
- 28:28Speaker 3: here in Dallas, Like it's a wild to me, how
- 28:30Speaker 3: many and various different colors and paint jobs and this
- 28:34Speaker 3: and that. So there's more money going into for the cosmetics.
- 28:38Speaker 2: But there is there is a market for and especially
- 28:44Speaker 2: since we're speaking of Dallas here, there is certainly a
- 28:47Speaker 2: market for status symbols, like you want that Louis Vuitton bag,
- 28:52Speaker 2: you want the cyber truck, that sort of thing. You're
- 28:55Speaker 2: not purchasing a vehicle for its capabilities, You're purchasing it
- 28:59Speaker 2: for what it you know, what it displays, what it
- 29:02Speaker 2: shows the world kind of a thing. It's a status symbol.
- 29:04Speaker 1: But a lot of people they're they're buying you see
- 29:07Speaker 1: now they've bought them. The original owner has taken the
- 29:10Speaker 1: depreciation and they've bought it for basically about thirty cents
- 29:12Speaker 1: on the dollar. Wow. Really, yeah, no one wants them.
- 29:17Speaker 2: And by the way, if you're just looking for a
- 29:20Speaker 2: good truck, to just get you an O five Tacoma,
- 29:23Speaker 2: you're good, and you're gonna spend a lot less money.
- 29:25Speaker 2: That's gonna be able to go a lot more places.
- 29:28Speaker 2: But Tesla's shareholders approved a record setting pay package for
- 29:31Speaker 2: chief executive Elon Musk, a plan designed to motivate the
- 29:35Speaker 2: world's richest man with as much as one trillion dollars
- 29:38Speaker 2: in additional stock. It's fascinating to me how many times
- 29:43Speaker 2: I have seen corporations and companies and CEOs say your
- 29:48Speaker 2: compensation shouldn't be motivation. And here's Tesla's shareholders saying we
- 29:52Speaker 2: had to keep this guy motivated. So here's here. We're
- 29:55Speaker 2: just gonna money whip it.
- 29:58Speaker 3: Isn't it also some it's government subsidized.
- 30:02Speaker 2: It's also very heavily subsidized company by the government.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, well the government subsidizes electric vehicles.
- 30:12Speaker 3: Yeah, okay.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Now, this new pay package, which includes twelve chunks of stock,
- 30:18Speaker 2: could give Musk control over as much as twenty five
- 30:20Speaker 2: percent of TESL if he hits a series of milestones
- 30:23Speaker 2: and expands the company's market cap to eight and a
- 30:25Speaker 2: half trillion dollars over the next ten years. Right now
- 30:28Speaker 2: that cap is one and a half trillion, okay. The
- 30:32Speaker 2: board described the package as pay for performance, designed to
- 30:35Speaker 2: motivate Musk to transform the company with new products such
- 30:39Speaker 2: as autonomous vehicles, robot taxis, and human eyed and humanoid robots.
- 30:46Speaker 2: One of the things that he has to do is
- 30:48Speaker 2: I believe it's like one million or ten million. I'm
- 30:51Speaker 2: trying to find it in the story and I saw
- 30:53Speaker 2: it earlier and I've lost it, but it's something like
- 30:56Speaker 2: a million humanoid robots sold, a million robot taxis on
- 31:03Speaker 2: the road. I mean, some of these benchmarks that the
- 31:06Speaker 2: company is going to have to hit. I just don't
- 31:10Speaker 2: see that happening, even if things were really running great
- 31:14Speaker 2: for him. So it's a great headline. It's attention grabbing headline.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Trillion dollar pay package approved. But I don't think he's
- 31:22Speaker 2: going to come anywhere near that, not that he needs
- 31:25Speaker 2: the money.
- 31:27Speaker 3: Tall chunks of stock is what he calls his kids.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Chunk A chunk, G chunk C just.
- 31:37Speaker 6: Split along with Mom Musk have said go ahead, Trey.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Well, I say it's a good headline for the company.
- 31:56Speaker 1: I mean he is associated with that company, and like
- 32:01Speaker 1: him or not, I mean, obviously the guy is smart
- 32:04Speaker 1: at what he does. He may be I could doodle
- 32:06Speaker 1: at times, but I think a lot of this is
- 32:09Speaker 1: I'll call it the Steve Jobs effect. Is if you
- 32:11Speaker 1: have a company with that is so centered around one person,
- 32:16Speaker 1: they don't want to make the mistake Apple did and
- 32:18Speaker 1: let him go.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, because if I think Tesla realizes, for good
- 32:24Speaker 2: or bad, they're married to him, because you're right. If
- 32:28Speaker 2: he goes, then there's very little confidence in the company
- 32:32Speaker 2: because then they have to find somebody else and that's
- 32:37Speaker 2: going to be a rebuilding process, and that's something Tesla
- 32:40Speaker 2: is not wanting to do. So they find themselves kind
- 32:46Speaker 2: of stuck with the guy. Now. To Elon's credit, he
- 32:49Speaker 2: did say that he wants a big enough ownership stake
- 32:53Speaker 2: in Tesla to be comfortable that the robot army he's
- 32:56Speaker 2: developing did not fall into the wrong hands, but not
- 32:59Speaker 2: so large that he couldn't be fired if he went crazy.
- 33:04Speaker 3: Said Musk while doing Ketamine.
- 33:08Speaker 2: I know, and that's look, this is old hat, but
- 33:12Speaker 2: it's true. With great power comes great responsibility. So we're
- 33:15Speaker 2: supposed to trust his own barometer for his level of
- 33:19Speaker 2: crazy when it comes to developing a bunch of robots.
- 33:25Speaker 2: I mean, this is a Hollywood script. It doesn't this
- 33:28Speaker 2: doesn't take a genius to write this film. It's pretty obvious,
- 33:33Speaker 2: like all the ways in which you could get bad
- 33:36Speaker 2: things happening out of this. Also, not to mention like
- 33:42Speaker 2: I haven't seen the movie in quite a while, but
- 33:44Speaker 2: I remember it pretty accurately. James Bond Moonraker, And when
- 33:51Speaker 2: I think of that guy, the Eve, the Villain and Moonraker,
- 33:55Speaker 2: it reminds me of Elon Musk a little bit.
- 34:01Speaker 3: See South African and on Drugs.
- 34:04Speaker 2: No, it's like the richest man in the world. He's
- 34:06Speaker 2: developing all this new technology. He takes it a little
- 34:09Speaker 2: bit further than Elon has. He basically started a space
- 34:12Speaker 2: cult and wanted to relocate everyone to the Moon. But
- 34:15Speaker 2: I mean Elon kind of wants to do that with Mars,
- 34:17Speaker 2: So I mean it's not a horribly huge deviation.
- 34:21Speaker 1: I mean that that is one problem. I mean, you
- 34:23Speaker 1: are giving this guy this huge incentive package, you know,
- 34:26Speaker 1: based on on robots and and automated cars, and his
- 34:29Speaker 1: ultimate goal is to not be on earth.
- 34:31Speaker 3: So yeah, who's who's the comedian that's talking about this?
- 34:37Speaker 3: Like they like Elon Musk wakes up every day and
- 34:40Speaker 3: is like that that's where I want. I want to go.
- 34:43Speaker 3: I'm tired of here now I think it's Josh Johnson.
- 34:45Speaker 3: He's like, I'm tired of here, so now I want
- 34:47Speaker 3: to I've bought everything here, so now go there. So
- 34:51Speaker 3: it's very very accurate. When you have that much money,
- 34:56Speaker 3: you got to start figuring out what to do with it. Yeah,
- 35:00Speaker 3: you can buy the yachts, who can buy the planes?
- 35:01Speaker 3: You can buy that well one, I mean, and you're
- 35:03Speaker 3: still worth four hundred fifty billion.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Dollars and that's before this new pay package. Yeah, you're right.
- 35:10Speaker 2: It's like, okay, so what is my motivation?
- 35:13Speaker 3: You know?
- 35:13Speaker 2: That's all right, go ahead.
- 35:16Speaker 3: I would like to buy Mars exactly. And somebody's like
- 35:21Speaker 3: for a trillion dollars maybe, and he's.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Like, I'll be back chanage accepted.
- 35:29Speaker 1: You have layaway.
- 35:37Speaker 2: I can't wait to see his Mars salute when he lands.
