Get ready to make a splash for the planet — North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and Kure Beach are teaming up for a back-to-school beach cleanup on August 22nd, from 8 to 10 AM at Ocean Front Park. Even though the main aquarium is closed for a 30-month renovation, they’re bringing the fun with a pop-up Discovery Bay at Independence Mall and free parking for volunteers. Bring your school colors (or team gear) — there’s even a prize for the most spirited participant!
