- 0:11Speaker 1: Hey, they're a fun watch.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Yes, since Chuck off, Ryan has gone through the tough
- 0:15Speaker 2: times Chuck, so this is where you really enjoy watching
- 0:18Speaker 2: a late inning game go in the favor of the
- 0:22Speaker 2: White Sox and their rookies. Great to have you on man,
- 0:24Speaker 2: perfect timing too. Hey, we set this up before we
- 0:26Speaker 2: saw what Montgomery did take us through.
- 0:29Speaker 3: How fun it's.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Been and how different it is than the conversations we
- 0:34Speaker 2: had the last three years of our existed.
- 0:39Speaker 4: Yeah, by the way, great to be back with you,
- 0:40Speaker 4: and great to be not talking about me crawling out
- 0:43Speaker 4: of the postgame set, Ozzie Geehan not sitting on a
- 0:47Speaker 4: cactus because he was in so much pain. Yeah, this
- 0:52Speaker 4: has been a complete turnaround and quicker than I think
- 0:55Speaker 4: anybody really could have expected. What's amazing. There's so many
- 0:59Speaker 4: things are amazing about this team. I'll start with this.
- 1:02Speaker 4: They've had twelve different players make their major league debuts
- 1:05Speaker 4: this year. Most of them have had big impacts. And
- 1:09Speaker 4: when you hear twelve guys making their major league debuts
- 1:13Speaker 4: and we're only in the middle of June, not even
- 1:15Speaker 4: the middle of June, you normally are talking about a
- 1:17Speaker 4: team in last place. It's under five hundred and yet
- 1:21Speaker 4: that team that we're talking about here is winning and
- 1:25Speaker 4: beating good teams. They just beat the best team in baseball,
- 1:28Speaker 4: the Braves, and it's of all people, Bradon Montgomery a
- 1:31Speaker 4: walk off home run in the tenth off of Rasil Iglesias,
- 1:36Speaker 4: who'd only given up two runs all season. There is
- 1:39Speaker 4: something happening with the White Sox, and it's been so
- 1:42Speaker 4: much fun to watch.
- 1:44Speaker 5: Garfinkel. First of all, let's get in. Let's get into
- 1:47Speaker 5: something right here.
- 1:47Speaker 6: Okay, yeah, of course I was waiting. Bring it on.
- 1:49Speaker 5: What do you got aj No, no, no, I'm happy. Listen.
- 1:52Speaker 5: I've been happy. I've been talking this team up for
- 1:54Speaker 5: weeks now, So I'm happy that the White Sox are
- 1:56Speaker 5: playing well. They're fun to watch, they're fun to tune into.
- 1:58Speaker 5: But my question is, yes, you mentioned all this. They
- 2:01Speaker 5: you mentioned how they're doing all these debuts, and they've
- 2:03Speaker 5: made some great trades, and the trades have worked out
- 2:05Speaker 5: at The Crochet trade obviously is off the charts with
- 2:08Speaker 5: all four of them making their debuts and being a
- 2:10Speaker 5: piece of this team. Is this a case of them
- 2:14Speaker 5: being in the right division, because the American League, honestly,
- 2:18Speaker 5: ain't that good. We've had this discussion all year pretty much. Yes,
- 2:21Speaker 5: they're ahead of their pace, but they just have a
- 2:24Speaker 5: confidence now. And that's the one thing I tell I
- 2:26Speaker 5: say all the time is if you get a team,
- 2:28Speaker 5: especially a young team, and they gain confidence, they can
- 2:31Speaker 5: carry that along ways. So is this the case of
- 2:33Speaker 5: them just being super confident and a combination of the
- 2:37Speaker 5: American League, especially the Central not being very good.
- 2:41Speaker 4: I mean, you can only play the teams that you're facing,
- 2:43Speaker 4: and right now, if you're looking for some competition, they've
- 2:46Speaker 4: got it. They just played the Phillies in Philadelphia. They
- 2:49Speaker 4: lost two of three, but they fought every game. They
- 2:51Speaker 4: could have won any of those games. They lost two
- 2:54Speaker 4: of three. They just beat the Braves. After the Braves,
- 2:57Speaker 4: who comes to town the Dodgers. After that they go
- 3:00Speaker 4: the Yankees. Then they've got the Tigers, followed by the Guardians.
- 3:03Speaker 4: So this stretch right here, if you want to see
- 3:06Speaker 4: what the White Sox are made of, like really made of,
- 3:09Speaker 4: right now, you're gonna get to see it. And what
- 3:12Speaker 4: I'm finding is, and I think I'm going to see
- 3:14Speaker 4: more of it, that there is a collective chemistry that
- 3:19Speaker 4: this team has that they really feel and it sounds
- 3:21Speaker 4: like a cliche, but you guys played the game. Sometimes
- 3:24Speaker 4: you just have it. You have a belief, you have
- 3:26Speaker 4: the confidence, and you looking up and down this lineup, anybody,
- 3:29Speaker 4: anybody can beat you. And you might look at their
- 3:33Speaker 4: numbers and say, well, you know, Derek Hill's not doing great.
- 3:35Speaker 6: Well, he's got big hits.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Randall Gritchik they signed from the Yankees when they let
- 3:39Speaker 4: him go, huge hits. He's got like six home runs,
- 3:42Speaker 4: fifteen RBIs and up and down the lineup, guys are
- 3:46Speaker 4: getting the job done. The pitching has been up and down,
- 3:49Speaker 4: but it seems like on the days when the pitching's
- 3:51Speaker 4: not there, there's the offense to pick up the slack.
- 3:54Speaker 4: So I do think this is sustainable. And when you
- 3:57Speaker 4: have enough guys contributing all over the place, when you
- 4:00Speaker 4: go into slumps or players going to slumps, so there's injuries.
- 4:03Speaker 4: I mean, the White Sox don't have more comedy right now.
- 4:06Speaker 4: They don't have t they haven't had them all year.
- 4:07Speaker 4: Colson Montgomery didn't play yesterday. Jacob Gonzalez, another guy making
- 4:12Speaker 4: his major league debut.
- 4:13Speaker 6: Like two weeks ago, batted forth. He had two hits
- 4:16Speaker 6: and a walk yesterday.
- 4:17Speaker 4: It seems like everyone who comes up they're just feeling good, comfortable, confident,
- 4:22Speaker 4: and that's giving them wins. So I think it matters. Yes,
- 4:25Speaker 4: the al is wide open and the White Sox are
- 4:27Speaker 4: just taking advantage of it.
- 4:28Speaker 6: Why not I like it.
- 4:30Speaker 5: By the way, I hate that, Oh they fought hard,
- 4:32Speaker 5: they still lost, Chuck, I hate that. Oh what a
- 4:34Speaker 5: whiff we come in. You fought hard, guys, and we
- 4:37Speaker 5: still lost. It still sucks. So yes, I understand why
- 4:41Speaker 5: that's a positive. But we're over the course.
- 4:43Speaker 6: Of a season. You're not gonna win anymore.
- 4:46Speaker 5: The White Sox are contenders. That was when they were
- 4:48Speaker 5: losing one hundred games. Oh look at the way they fought.
- 4:50Speaker 5: They're contenders now, Chuck, so we lose the man. The
- 4:54Speaker 5: moral victories are no more. It's about winning games. And
- 4:57Speaker 5: that's what I.
- 4:58Speaker 6: Wasn't saying that.
- 4:58Speaker 4: I wasn't saying any art yuh No, I know it's not.
- 5:02Speaker 4: I'm not saying these are moral victories. What I'm saying
- 5:04Speaker 4: is even in the games that they lose, Like I'm
- 5:07Speaker 4: seeing the team that won yesterday, in the games that
- 5:09Speaker 4: they lose, I'm seeing that same team out there. They
- 5:11Speaker 4: might lose the game I'm not saying it's a moral win.
- 5:14Speaker 4: I'm just saying, like consistently, you're seeing this team that
- 5:18Speaker 4: won and came back last night even though they lost
- 5:20Speaker 4: against the Phillies. Uh, there's a there's a crazy series.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Uh the Phillies would score and the White Sox would
- 5:26Speaker 4: come right back. And that's what I'm trying to say,
- 5:28Speaker 4: that fight that I think in the end makes them
- 5:31Speaker 4: a winning team.
- 5:33Speaker 5: Is David Smartin enough, Davis Martin, Sean berke K, Is
- 5:37Speaker 5: this starting rotation enough? I mean they use a lot
- 5:39Speaker 5: of openers, They're trying to mix and match, right. How
- 5:43Speaker 5: much help do they need on the pitching end to
- 5:45Speaker 5: get this team into postseason and maybe be a little
- 5:48Speaker 5: bit dangerous if they get there.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a big question mark and a great question
- 5:54Speaker 4: because I don't know. Because everyone in this rotation, even
- 5:58Speaker 4: Eric Fetti, who has had some big time struggles, had
- 6:01Speaker 4: big time struggles in May. He started yesterday needed an opener.
- 6:04Speaker 4: I'm not saying he needed it, but they gave him
- 6:06Speaker 4: an opener. And so everyone's had their stretches where they're good,
- 6:10Speaker 4: and then they have stretches other than Davis Martin's coming
- 6:13Speaker 4: off a rough start, but everyone's had those stretches of
- 6:15Speaker 4: like is he going to be good enough to carry
- 6:18Speaker 4: the White Sox all the way and help them get
- 6:20Speaker 4: into the playoffs?
- 6:21Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 6:22Speaker 4: Then there's some question marks about like Noah Schultz, when's
- 6:24Speaker 4: he coming back? Tanner McDougal, a guy in the system
- 6:27Speaker 4: they really love. He got banged up and he's going
- 6:30Speaker 4: to be throwing off a mount to the end of June,
- 6:33Speaker 4: hopefully in a game. And Shane Smith, their opening day starter,
- 6:36Speaker 4: he's trying to come back. So there's some question marks
- 6:38Speaker 4: of guys who are hurt right now. But if you
- 6:41Speaker 4: ask me, as we look ahead of the trade deadline,
- 6:44Speaker 4: of the Socks are still in it, and I expect
- 6:45Speaker 4: them to be. I would like to see them add
- 6:48Speaker 4: a starter and maybe one or two relievers to help out, because, yeah,
- 6:52Speaker 4: they're er. I think as a team is twentieth. There's
- 6:55Speaker 4: Davis Martin who's kicking, but Burke's been good lately. K's
- 6:58Speaker 4: been good. But are they how is this gonna look
- 7:02Speaker 4: in August and September. I'm not sure they have enough
- 7:05Speaker 4: arms to go all the nots to go all the way,
- 7:08Speaker 4: like get to the finish line and make the playoffs,
- 7:10Speaker 4: then see what happens.
- 7:12Speaker 6: Crouch.
- 7:13Speaker 5: You know, I travel all the time and I'm always
- 7:15Speaker 5: looking for possible tickets to go see events, concerts, MLB games.
- 7:19Speaker 7: When I do, I always find Seakeek. Yeah, I'm not
- 7:22Speaker 7: traveling so pretty much. I'm looking for the games all
- 7:25Speaker 7: in my area. I'm gonna look for an Orioles game.
- 7:27Speaker 7: I'm gonna look for the Phillies game, the Mets game,
- 7:30Speaker 7: the Yankees game. But you know what else is coming up?
- 7:33Speaker 7: The All Star Game. Sea Gek's got me.
- 7:36Speaker 5: Hey, you're gonna need them. Tickets to the All Star
- 7:38Speaker 5: Game is gonna be crazy. Hey, they have over thirty

- 8:12Speaker 7: I know this answer would have been different a few
- 8:13Speaker 7: weeks ago before Morikami went down, But who's now the
- 8:18Speaker 7: most irreplaceable piece in this lineup or rotation or bullpen?
- 8:24Speaker 4: I would say, even with Mura Kami, the most important
- 8:29Speaker 4: player on this team, the MVP of this team. And
- 8:32Speaker 4: I'm glad I'm on this because on the show with
- 8:34Speaker 4: you guys, because a lot of people can see it
- 8:36Speaker 4: and hear it. Miguel Vargas. If people are not noticing
- 8:39Speaker 4: what Miguel Vargas is doing, you should watch. He is
- 8:43Speaker 4: doing it offensively, he is doing it defensively. He had
- 8:47Speaker 4: huge plays last night. He's a leader of this team.
- 8:50Speaker 4: He's a glue guy. He hustles, he does everything that
- 8:53Speaker 4: you want. And Miguel Vargas, who people a lot of people,
- 8:57Speaker 4: if you're not really paying attention, might remember him. Oh yeah,
- 8:59Speaker 4: he was a part of that terrible trade, the trade
- 9:01Speaker 4: deadline move that the White Sox, Cardinals and Dodgers made
- 9:05Speaker 4: two years ago at the deadline. While he is he's become,
- 9:07Speaker 4: in my opinion, the MVP of this team. He's irreplaceable
- 9:11Speaker 4: and plays hard, every day and it goes a long way.
- 9:14Speaker 4: He sets an example for this team. He's got tons
- 9:17Speaker 4: of walks, hit a home run. They were down four
- 9:20Speaker 4: to nothing last night, looks like they're not gonna win
- 9:22Speaker 4: the game. He hits a two on Homer and gets
- 9:24Speaker 4: them right back in it. That's what he's meant to
- 9:25Speaker 4: this team.
- 9:27Speaker 5: Chuck. Will he make the All I mean he's gonna
- 9:29Speaker 5: make the All Star Team. He should make the All
- 9:31Speaker 5: Star Team, right, But the article about ninety years since
- 9:34Speaker 5: the White Sox has had a third baseman start in
- 9:36Speaker 5: the All Star Game seems incredible, especially Joe Creedy Robin Ventura.
- 9:40Speaker 5: They've had some names at third base. But here's my thing.
- 9:43Speaker 5: It's so hard to start an All Star Game because
- 9:47Speaker 5: you need people to go out and vote. Okay, White
- 9:49Speaker 5: Sox fans are great, but please, I'm begging White Sox
- 9:52Speaker 5: fans and other people that are fans of other teams
- 9:56Speaker 5: check out the go Vargus's numbers and go vote for
- 9:59Speaker 5: this guy because he deserves to start and end that street,
- 10:02Speaker 5: which is mind boggling to me that they haven't had
- 10:04Speaker 5: one in ninety years. Start.
- 10:08Speaker 4: Yeah, you'd think that Ventura would have gotten in but
- 10:11Speaker 4: you know, all it takes, and I'm not sure who
- 10:12Speaker 4: was beating him at the time, off the top of
- 10:14Speaker 4: my head, but like all it takes is like Miguel
- 10:16Speaker 4: Cabrera to be playing first base while while you're a
- 10:20Speaker 4: first baseman and you got no shot to start in
- 10:23Speaker 4: an All Star game. So I'm, off the top of
- 10:24Speaker 4: my head, I can't think who he was losing to.
- 10:26Speaker 4: But yeah, Venturia should have been there for sure. And
- 10:29Speaker 4: if you look at what mcgoll, vargus is doing as
- 10:31Speaker 4: a third baseman, just offensively, like it's a shoeing. But
- 10:35Speaker 4: it takes time for people to get the word out.
- 10:38Speaker 4: Although I will say, and this is a good thing
- 10:40Speaker 4: about social media, word travels fast, and I know you
- 10:45Speaker 4: guys and we're talking about it, and I'll be Network's
- 10:47Speaker 4: talking about Vargas. So I think word is getting out.
- 10:50Speaker 4: Is gonna tip the scales and get him in. I
- 10:52Speaker 4: don't know, but he deserves to be the starter for
- 10:56Speaker 4: the American League, no doubt. That's how much he's meant
- 10:58Speaker 4: and what he's done.
- 11:00Speaker 7: Who should the White Sox be the most afraid of.
- 11:02Speaker 5: In the Central.
- 11:04Speaker 6: Isn't the Guardians? Right?
- 11:06Speaker 7: I mean, I know what the record is I just
- 11:07Speaker 7: don't watch I don't watch the AL Central very often,
- 11:11Speaker 7: and which you should something? Come on, yeah, come on,
- 11:15Speaker 7: I got I got a lot of better things to do.
- 11:16Speaker 7: I watched some games, but they are Central stinks right now, Chuck,
- 11:20Speaker 7: and it's not great baseball. But I have to admit
- 11:23Speaker 7: I have watched the White Sox recently, and I've watched
- 11:27Speaker 7: last night's game because I wanted to see Brad Montgomery
- 11:29Speaker 7: and I staid of the beginning to show. The fans
- 11:32Speaker 7: are just popping in that stadium. They're bouncing around. But
- 11:37Speaker 7: who's truly who are they truly worried about? Do they
- 11:40Speaker 7: think the Guardians are the team that they're worried about?
- 11:42Speaker 7: Because nobody can figure out why the Guardians are good,
- 11:44Speaker 7: and yet they're always good.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Well, what's really interesting is that the White Sox have
- 11:49Speaker 4: played everyone in the Central so far except the Guardians,
- 11:53Speaker 4: which is really weird. That we are here in June.
- 11:55Speaker 4: They haven't even faced them, and they've been looking up
- 11:57Speaker 4: at them in the standings. They're a half game out
- 11:59Speaker 4: right now, and everyone is like, how are the Guardians
- 12:02Speaker 4: doing it?
- 12:03Speaker 6: But they do it.
- 12:04Speaker 4: That's the team to beat, is what they're doing sustainable
- 12:08Speaker 4: just like what the White Sox are they doing sustainable questions,
- 12:13Speaker 4: But I like the White Sox chances to overtake them
- 12:18Speaker 4: if they keep doing this. You guys know is I
- 12:20Speaker 4: can't I mean, how far out is.
- 12:22Speaker 6: This gonna go?
- 12:22Speaker 4: I can't predict what's gonna this team's gonna look like
- 12:24Speaker 4: in July, August, and September. But uh, they seem to
- 12:27Speaker 4: be finding answers, finding ways to win. And when that
- 12:31Speaker 4: is being built and aj you kind of mentioned, it
- 12:33Speaker 4: kind of just grows and grows and grows and grows.
- 12:36Speaker 4: And you know, you throw enough things at this team
- 12:38Speaker 4: and they can still get wins against good teams. You know,
- 12:41Speaker 4: That's that's something that is a thing. And so I'll
- 12:47Speaker 4: have a better idea. I think around the trade deadline,
- 12:50Speaker 4: after the Socks have gone through all of this this
- 12:53Speaker 4: tough stretch, when they've played the Guardians a few times,
- 12:55Speaker 4: the trade deadline passes, and then you're gonna see who
- 12:57Speaker 4: the White Sox are. But yeah, right now it's it's
- 13:01Speaker 4: the Guardians the Tigers. I'm just stunned what's happened to them.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Injuries have been played a big part, obviously, The Royals
- 13:07Speaker 4: have totally underperformed the Twins or I don't. I don't
- 13:11Speaker 4: get them at all. But the White Sox are just
- 13:13Speaker 4: playing with a whole lot of confidence. I would now
- 13:15Speaker 4: want to face this team right now. That's how good
- 13:17Speaker 4: they're playing.
- 13:18Speaker 5: All right, Chuck, we only got time for a couple more.
- 13:20Speaker 5: I could ask you about ten more questions, but uh
- 13:23Speaker 5: one with I just want to know White Sox yes
- 13:25Speaker 5: or no? Will they go all in at the trade
- 13:26Speaker 5: deadline and make the moves they need to make.
- 13:30Speaker 4: Chris gets who was on MLB Network Radio a couple
- 13:33Speaker 4: of days ago, and he says, if you know we're
- 13:35Speaker 4: I'm kind of paraphrasing here, but he said something like,
- 13:38Speaker 4: if they're still going on like playing like this, he's
- 13:41Speaker 4: going to add. So who's he going to add? I
- 13:44Speaker 4: don't know, uh GM, Chuck Garfine is trying to get
- 13:49Speaker 4: or Jordan Alvarez on this team.
- 13:52Speaker 6: But I mean that's what I that's what I lost, Juck.
- 13:55Speaker 5: That cost way too much, by the way, So let's
- 13:57Speaker 5: not even let's not even dream like that. You know
- 13:59Speaker 5: it's not gonna be that. So all right, that's fair.
- 14:01Speaker 5: I get I hope they do make the ray moves.
- 14:03Speaker 5: An ad uh two more quick uh one. Chris sale
- 14:07Speaker 5: starts tonight back at us Suler Guaranteed Rate whatever it's called. Now,
- 14:11Speaker 5: well he get a nice ovation from the White Sox fans.
- 14:15Speaker 6: He should.
- 14:16Speaker 4: I mean it's been a while, right yeah. Yeah, And
- 14:21Speaker 4: when you say a nice ovation, yeah, I think they
- 14:24Speaker 4: will give him a nice ovation.
- 14:25Speaker 6: But I think White Sox fans.
- 14:26Speaker 4: Are like that was like three eras ago, Like we're
- 14:29Speaker 4: so focused on the present that like, there's an appreciation
- 14:34Speaker 4: for Chris Sale one for what he did here, and
- 14:37Speaker 4: he's been here already. It's not like the first start
- 14:39Speaker 4: he's going to be having against the White Sox. I
- 14:41Speaker 4: think he's like, this is what might be a seventh start.
- 14:43Speaker 5: Uh.
- 14:44Speaker 6: He deserves a big ovation.
- 14:46Speaker 4: But you know it's it's like, yeah, we had so
- 14:49Speaker 4: much going on on our side of the dugout. I
- 14:51Speaker 4: think fans might be like, let's just focus on that
- 14:53Speaker 4: for now, and let's we get I mean, Davis Martin,
- 14:56Speaker 4: you got the current ace on the White Sox going
- 14:57Speaker 4: against uh, one of the best aces in baseball, So
- 15:00Speaker 4: what a matchup it's going to be tonight.
- 15:03Speaker 3: All right?
- 15:03Speaker 5: Nice and then chuck before I let you go. I
- 15:05Speaker 5: would not be able to do this. How excited are
- 15:08Speaker 5: you for Ozzy Gean to finally and I'll say it again,
- 15:11Speaker 5: finally get his number retired. And then you have to
- 15:13Speaker 5: come on the cruise with us in September with Teal
- 15:16Speaker 5: and my draw and Ozzy and me and now we're
- 15:19Speaker 5: gonna have Chuck as the bartender.
- 15:21Speaker 6: Is this officially an invite?
- 15:24Speaker 5: Yes, we'll have to pay. Yes, you're invited.
- 15:29Speaker 6: Chuck's not going uh a shocker. Yeah.
- 15:33Speaker 4: So, Uh, it's it's amazing. It's it's August the eighth.
- 15:37Speaker 4: Ozzy Gean again, his number retired. I mean he's it's
- 15:40Speaker 4: player manager, analyst and what I like to call him
- 15:43Speaker 4: on the air, he's the mayor of raid Field. I
- 15:45Speaker 4: mean he is kissing babies, shaking hands.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Uh.
- 15:49Speaker 4: Chicago, certainly on the South side of Chicago and even
- 15:51Speaker 4: the North side of Chicago, they love Ozzy and this
- 15:54Speaker 4: is well overdue. AJ you know him very very well.
- 15:57Speaker 4: Uh So it's it's it's a long time. I'm calming
- 16:00Speaker 4: to see Ozzie get his number retired as special and yes,
- 16:04Speaker 4: I will join you on the cruise in September.
- 16:07Speaker 6: Thanks for the invite. I appreciate it.
- 16:10Speaker 5: Wow. And also, Chuck, Chuck, do you think that they'll
- 16:14Speaker 5: give me a microphone on August eighth to talk?
- 16:18Speaker 6: They should? I mean, yeah, why not? Are you gonna
- 16:21Speaker 6: be there only.
- 16:22Speaker 5: Only I was invited?
- 16:23Speaker 4: So yes, Uh well, if I have a say and
- 16:29Speaker 4: I don't, if I have a say, you should definitely
- 16:33Speaker 4: get a microphone and talk.
- 16:34Speaker 6: Why not. I don't see anything wrong with it.
- 16:36Speaker 5: I don't know. They didn't let me get the twenty
- 16:37Speaker 5: year reunion or the twenty year reunion, so I figured out.
- 16:40Speaker 6: I think the healing again, we need some healing here.
- 16:45Speaker 5: I'm fine. I don't have a problem. Chuck.
- 16:46Speaker 4: Well, you just asked me a question, like, are they
- 16:48Speaker 4: going to give me a microphone?
- 16:49Speaker 6: I'm like, why not? Sure?
- 16:52Speaker 2: He talks every day for a living. He's entertaining. People
- 16:55Speaker 2: love him out there. I mean, it's the perfect.
- 16:57Speaker 6: Time to again. I am just John Quespoor Castro.
- 17:00Speaker 4: I don't have the uh say here, but yeah, you
- 17:03Speaker 4: should definitely And if, honestly, if Ozzy wants you to talk,
- 17:06Speaker 4: you're gonna get a microphone.
- 17:07Speaker 6: Let's be honest, exactly.
- 17:09Speaker 2: And he knows how to like highlight Ozzy but then
- 17:12Speaker 2: roast him at the same time. Aj does have like
- 17:15Speaker 2: a I mean it's got a skill for speaking, but
- 17:17Speaker 2: specifically with Ozzy, he just hits the right tone. So yes,
- 17:21Speaker 2: my request is out there too, as as John Q
- 17:24Speaker 2: podcaster that nobody's going to listen to either, but we'll try.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Chuck could catching up. You're glowing, man, It's everything's different.
- 17:31Speaker 1: I mean this is fun. You look like a different person,
- 17:35Speaker 1: and I mean that.
- 17:35Speaker 4: We had some dark days. We had some dark days,
- 17:38Speaker 4: and I can see the light.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Finally, Yes, you look great, dude. Well thanks for joining us.
- 17:43Speaker 3: Follow check. Yes, I'm not lying.
- 17:47Speaker 1: I don't say that to every guest.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Appreciate your Chuck Talks.
- 17:50Speaker 6: Thanks, Scott, appreciated.

- 19:06Speaker 2: Good to see you, Aj. What do you got for us?
- 19:08Speaker 2: What is this team looking like? I mean, you know
- 19:10Speaker 2: how it is with Miami. Unless they are full of
- 19:13Speaker 2: superstars and on a tear.
- 19:17Speaker 1: They're not going to get the national attention. So fill
- 19:20Speaker 1: us in.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Yeah. Thanks, first of all, thanks for having me on.
- 19:24Speaker 3: I appreciate it. But yeah, this team is exciting, man.
- 19:27Speaker 3: They have a lot of young talent. They're doing a
- 19:29Speaker 3: bunch of different things that other organizations aren't doing and
- 19:33Speaker 3: obviously understandable because, like you mentioned, they don't have the
- 19:36Speaker 3: superstar talent that some of these other teams do, so
- 19:38Speaker 3: they got to get creative and some of the things
- 19:41Speaker 3: that they're doing, Honestly, when if we did those when
- 19:44Speaker 3: I was playing, I would think, this is the big leagues.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Why are we doing bunt practice in the middle of
- 19:50Speaker 3: the season. Why are we doing all these little different things.
- 19:53Speaker 3: This is the big leagues. You do this in the
- 19:54Speaker 3: minor leagues. They're doing it because a lot of these
- 19:57Speaker 3: guys didn't have the luxury of spending any years in
- 20:00Speaker 3: the minor leagues to craft their understanding of how to
- 20:04Speaker 3: play the game, so they got to do some of
- 20:05Speaker 3: the developing at the big league level. So that's why
- 20:10Speaker 3: they're doing all these different things. And honestly, I always
- 20:12Speaker 3: wondered we only did pitching field at PFPS in spring
- 20:16Speaker 3: training and then we never worked on them. But now
- 20:18Speaker 3: with the Marlins, they're working on PFPS, they're working on
- 20:21Speaker 3: bunt defenses, they're working on bunting, the actual bunting, not
- 20:24Speaker 3: just bunting the first two pitches you see in the
- 20:26Speaker 3: cage when you're taking batting practice. So they are developing
- 20:30Speaker 3: players at this level, they're doing a lot of different
- 20:35Speaker 3: things to try to win the margins and see if
- 20:38Speaker 3: they can create a process that is a winning organization.
- 20:44Speaker 5: This is gonna wear the guys out. Though I know
- 20:46Speaker 5: they're basically a young team, but I mean, I know
- 20:49Speaker 5: if I had early work every day and I had
- 20:51Speaker 5: to go do PfP and I had to go do bunning,
- 20:55Speaker 5: and I had to go take live BP every day,
- 20:57Speaker 5: right because don't the pitchers throw live VP in between starts.
- 21:01Speaker 5: There's like a lot of things that I feel like
- 21:03Speaker 5: would have just warned me out after a while, after
- 21:05Speaker 5: one hundred and sixty two games.
- 21:07Speaker 3: I mean, it depends on what phase of your career
- 21:10Speaker 3: you're talking about, right, If you're talking about towards the
- 21:12Speaker 3: end of your career, hell yeah, that's gonna wear you out.
- 21:15Speaker 3: And you're like, I A'm gonna do that? Why do
- 21:16Speaker 3: I need to do that? A lot of these guys
- 21:18Speaker 3: are young, and they do similar things of what you
- 21:22Speaker 3: as far as practice goes what you would see in
- 21:23Speaker 3: a minor league setting. And I know minor leagues they
- 21:26Speaker 3: don't play one hundred and sixty two games, but they
- 21:29Speaker 3: still do a similar version of this. They're out doing
- 21:31Speaker 3: early work, team fundamentals and team things throughout the big
- 21:36Speaker 3: league season. Obviously, whenever I was playing, there would be
- 21:38Speaker 3: guys that were getting their work in catching wise, hitting wise, whatever.
- 21:41Speaker 3: But it's individual work and you don't do it every day.
- 21:44Speaker 3: The Marlins, they're not doing it as a team every day.
- 21:48Speaker 3: They I've seen maybe when I've been there, maybe two
- 21:51Speaker 3: or three times a week if that. They're doing specific
- 21:53Speaker 3: things team stuff. But for the most part, I think
- 21:57Speaker 3: they have a system to where it won't overexhaust the body.
- 22:01Speaker 3: And a lot of these guys are I mean under
- 22:03Speaker 3: thirty easily, I mean mid mid twenties. I know when
- 22:07Speaker 3: I was mid twenties. Man, I can do a lot
- 22:09Speaker 3: more than what I could do at the end towards
- 22:10Speaker 3: the end of my career. So right now they're in
- 22:13Speaker 3: this place where again they got to develop. Now, if
- 22:15Speaker 3: they had a bunch of veterans on this team, one
- 22:18Speaker 3: you wouldn't need to do as many of these things.
- 22:20Speaker 3: But two, I mean, they have their processes down so
- 22:23Speaker 3: that there's less teaching at this level. But right now,
- 22:29Speaker 3: I mean, in order to make sure that you play
- 22:31Speaker 3: clean baseball, because that's the Marlins brand, you've got to
- 22:33Speaker 3: play clean baseball. You got run the bases good, you
- 22:36Speaker 3: got to play you gotta play defense well, and you
- 22:39Speaker 3: got to work abs And as you've seen from I mean,
- 22:42Speaker 3: they have the league leader in hits with Otto Lopez
- 22:45Speaker 3: and Xavier Edwards is doing well lim Hicks. I mean,
- 22:48Speaker 3: they have a lot of guys that are really hard
- 22:50Speaker 3: to strike out and make a lot of contact and
- 22:52Speaker 3: honestly doing some damage out there.
- 22:55Speaker 7: He jel. I'm not going to use your words against you,
- 22:57Speaker 7: but I want to know what you're thinking here. You said,
- 23:01Speaker 7: see if it works because there's a lot of stuff
- 23:04Speaker 7: that's going on.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Yep.
- 23:05Speaker 7: Do you think it's hard for a fan to connect
- 23:08Speaker 7: to a game that you're like, because casual fans can
- 23:12Speaker 7: even see like, I will see if it works, Like
- 23:14Speaker 7: we'll see if they can win without having free agents.
- 23:18Speaker 7: I will see if this can work. Call on pitch,
- 23:21Speaker 7: We'll see if this can work. Not hitting a lot
- 23:23Speaker 7: of homers and Marlon's Park is like impossible to hit
- 23:26Speaker 7: homers out of? Like is it too much? See if
- 23:29Speaker 7: it works or is it like I will hope it
- 23:32Speaker 7: doesn't really matter if we win or lose.
- 23:34Speaker 3: I think in the past it was more of a
- 23:36Speaker 3: hope and see if it works out. Now they're crafting processes,
- 23:39Speaker 3: and of course a lot of things that they're doing
- 23:42Speaker 3: right now may not stick. But in order if you
- 23:45Speaker 3: implement something, you have to give it a long enough
- 23:47Speaker 3: runway to see if you will have success with that,
- 23:50Speaker 3: and you've got to fully invest in it, and you
- 23:52Speaker 3: got to fully commit to it in order to see
- 23:54Speaker 3: if it works or not. And as a fan, yes,
- 23:57Speaker 3: it's tough. But as a fan, you can also see
- 24:00Speaker 3: that even the games that they lose, for the most part,
- 24:02Speaker 3: they're in and if you go to those games and
- 24:04Speaker 3: you see watch them on TV, they don't give up. Man.
- 24:07Speaker 3: I mean there's been times where they're down by three
- 24:10Speaker 3: or four runs or five runs in the ninth inning
- 24:12Speaker 3: and they come back and score, you know, two or
- 24:15Speaker 3: three runs to make it competitive. Even when they were winning.
- 24:18Speaker 3: I was in DC call in the game and there
- 24:20Speaker 3: was twenty six balls fouled off in the ninth inning
- 24:23Speaker 3: and they're up by three runs. They don't give abs away.
- 24:25Speaker 3: They're playing the game the right way. And that's first
- 24:27Speaker 3: and foremost. The process that they want to implement with
- 24:30Speaker 3: these guys is that you know, you grind out AB's
- 24:33Speaker 3: you don't give any pitches away and you continue to
- 24:35Speaker 3: push hard. And some of the things that they're doing,
- 24:38Speaker 3: some of the processes that they're making the guys go through,
- 24:41Speaker 3: they're seeing if it works and what happens with that unsure,
- 24:46Speaker 3: But I mean, the only way to know if it's
- 24:48Speaker 3: going to be successful or not is to give it
- 24:51Speaker 3: the full commitment. And the third part of this is
- 24:54Speaker 3: they have to do this. They have to try to
- 24:57Speaker 3: be innovative because they they don't have the payroll as
- 25:02Speaker 3: a lot of the other teams, So you can't just
- 25:05Speaker 3: go out there and play traditional baseball when you don't
- 25:07Speaker 3: have the traditional way of success on your roster. Construction
- 25:12Speaker 3: is not built for that type of success, so you
- 25:15Speaker 3: have to be innovative, and that's what they're doing. They're
- 25:17Speaker 3: doing a lot of different things. That's raise some eyebrows, obviously,
- 25:22Speaker 3: but that's what's gonna happen when you're innovative, especially in
- 25:24Speaker 3: a sport that is so tradition oriented as baseball. You
- 25:27Speaker 3: do something just a little bit different and guys are like, well,
- 25:30Speaker 3: back in my day, I didn't have to do all
- 25:32Speaker 3: those things. So, I mean, it comes with the territory.
- 25:36Speaker 5: But is it working because they're behind the Nationals, and
- 25:39Speaker 5: the Nationals have new guys and they're doing different stuff too,
- 25:42Speaker 5: and they're above five hundred and they're ahead of the Marlins.
- 25:45Speaker 5: So this is all this cool and great and whip
- 25:48Speaker 5: you do and we're doing all this new stuff. But
- 25:50Speaker 5: at the end of the day, it's about the players.
- 25:52Speaker 5: And the Washington Nationals with people in their first year,
- 25:55Speaker 5: are ahead of where the Marlins are right now. So
- 25:58Speaker 5: is this working? That would be my next Is this working?
- 26:00Speaker 5: Or they need better players?
- 26:02Speaker 3: Well you compared to to the to the Nationals, but
- 26:06Speaker 3: they have Woods, they have Abrams, they have some guys
- 26:12Speaker 3: that are like can be super star type talent on
- 26:16Speaker 3: their team. So to your point, yes, I mean you
- 26:18Speaker 3: will need some players. But at the other end of it,
- 26:21Speaker 3: the Nationals cannot pitch. I think overall, I think the
- 26:25Speaker 3: Marlins are a better team because they have better pitching,
- 26:28Speaker 3: better bullpen, better starting pitching. Right now, they're going through
- 26:30Speaker 3: one of those stretches where, like it hits, every team,
- 26:33Speaker 3: starting pitching is going down, and so they're down in
- 26:35Speaker 3: that aspect and they having a lot of bullpenings, but
- 26:37Speaker 3: their bullpen is one of the best in the league.
- 26:39Speaker 3: They have two of the top hitters on the on
- 26:43Speaker 3: their roster, and then you have the RBI. You know,
- 26:46Speaker 3: Liam Hicks is competing for you know, top RBI, so
- 26:50Speaker 3: they have the structure there. I would argue that the
- 26:53Speaker 3: players on the Marlins are possibly younger than most of
- 26:58Speaker 3: the guys, like when you look at the average age
- 26:59Speaker 3: then the Nationals, a lot of those guys have more experience.
- 27:03Speaker 3: They've played a couple more years in some of these
- 27:05Speaker 3: guys as well. So yeah, overall, you're gonna want to
- 27:07Speaker 3: have good players. But here's the thing. When you come
- 27:09Speaker 3: up with the system and you understand how the system works,
- 27:12Speaker 3: then you're able to get better players for that system
- 27:15Speaker 3: to implement to your roster, not just the best player
- 27:18Speaker 3: out there, because the best player out there may not
- 27:21Speaker 3: make your team the best because things don't work out
- 27:23Speaker 3: the system isn't in place for it. Look at Wansto,
- 27:26Speaker 3: best hitter on the Mets. Mets aren't doing every well
- 27:29Speaker 3: because they don't have a process to understand what direction
- 27:32Speaker 3: are we going, what makes this organization successful and they
- 27:39Speaker 3: just kind of threw the most money at the roster
- 27:41Speaker 3: to see if it works. That's not going to work.
- 27:43Speaker 3: But if you have a system in place, you have
- 27:45Speaker 3: an understanding of what type of players can maximize that
- 27:49Speaker 3: type of system, then you get the right players. Not
- 27:51Speaker 3: the most expensive, maybe not even some of the most
- 27:54Speaker 3: talented players. You get the right players for your system.
- 27:57Speaker 3: The only way to go through that is to come
- 27:59Speaker 3: up with the system and try some things and fail
- 28:02Speaker 3: and be innovative.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Support for today's episode comes from Square, and they've got

- 28:42Speaker 5: you have going.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Square launched its most powerful tools yet, designed to give

- 29:02Speaker 2: with Square get started today.
- 29:05Speaker 7: All right, Well, I don't think it took too much
- 29:06Speaker 7: innovation when you were there. I'd made a list of
- 29:09Speaker 7: the guys that you played with. Mike Stanton formal now,
- 29:12Speaker 7: gian Carlos Stanton, Christian Yelich, Marcelo Zuna, jt Real Muto,
- 29:17Speaker 7: Jose Fernandez, and the great aj Ramos were just some
- 29:21Speaker 7: of the names. I'm probably missing. I'm probably missing some guys.
- 29:25Speaker 7: Was that system in place and then taken away now
- 29:30Speaker 7: in the set or was that just a lucky luck
- 29:32Speaker 7: of the draw? You had just freak athletes that were
- 29:36Speaker 7: all in the system. And is that not able to
- 29:40Speaker 7: be duplicated because of how the game is now today
- 29:45Speaker 7: or something?
- 29:47Speaker 3: So I think G was drafted by the Marlins. I
- 29:50Speaker 3: think I believe Yellows was as well. I was drafted
- 29:52Speaker 3: by the Marlins. I think Ozuna was as well. I
- 30:00Speaker 3: think they just had a really good draft and so
- 30:04Speaker 3: that helped. And then when they try to add players,
- 30:06Speaker 3: like in twenty twelve they try to add Jose, they
- 30:09Speaker 3: try to add all these different guys Mark Burley, and
- 30:12Speaker 3: they sucked again because you're trying to you're trying to
- 30:16Speaker 3: just throw the best players and trying to win ball games,
- 30:20Speaker 3: and you've got to have a system in place. So
- 30:22Speaker 3: I think along with that process I was talking about again,
- 30:26Speaker 3: then you can apply that to the type of players
- 30:28Speaker 3: that you're drafting as well. Then you can apply that
- 30:31Speaker 3: to all, right, is this type of player is going
- 30:33Speaker 3: to fit our system? I mean, look at the Rays.
- 30:35Speaker 3: It's similar to the Rays, I would guess because you know,
- 30:37Speaker 3: Peter Binnix came from the Rais, so it's going to
- 30:39Speaker 3: be a derivative of that. And they've been successful with
- 30:44Speaker 3: the way they developed players, and I think eventually it's
- 30:47Speaker 3: going to be a place where they can develop players.
- 30:49Speaker 3: But I think they have the ability to turn the
- 30:52Speaker 3: corner to then then add when the time is right.
- 30:55Speaker 3: I mean, because you can see the studs of this
- 30:58Speaker 3: and I can see it. It's the best rebuild that
- 31:01Speaker 3: I've been a part of in the Marlins organization. Before
- 31:04Speaker 3: they tore it all down, they tried to do something
- 31:06Speaker 3: else and Jeter took it over and then tore it
- 31:08Speaker 3: all down again and that didn't work, and then there's
- 31:10Speaker 3: a bunch of different things going on. So I think
- 31:14Speaker 3: they rebuilt that. When you rebuild it from the stud
- 31:16Speaker 3: there's gonna show some cracks. They're gonna show some things
- 31:18Speaker 3: where everyone's pointing like you're not doing it right because
- 31:21Speaker 3: you're not doing the traditional way, you know, giving up
- 31:22Speaker 3: you know, you know, throw enough money at it. So
- 31:25Speaker 3: I mean they're kind of they're going through their their
- 31:28Speaker 3: their phases. I think they're they're coming up with their
- 31:31Speaker 3: plans that it's going to allow them to be successful.
- 31:33Speaker 3: And we'll see, obviously, I mean, you'll have a crystal
- 31:37Speaker 3: ball I we'll see if they'll have more success with this.
- 31:40Speaker 3: But for me, I believe that they're heading in the
- 31:42Speaker 3: right direction.
- 31:44Speaker 7: Who do you trust more in? You talked about the system,
- 31:47Speaker 7: Who do you trust more in? Clayton McCollum the manager,
- 31:49Speaker 7: or Peter Bendex the GM, or the head of player operations.
- 31:55Speaker 3: Who do I trust more. I mean they, I think everyone.
- 32:01Speaker 3: So when we talk to individuals, we try to ask
- 32:07Speaker 3: questions to maybe corner them, to maybe get them to
- 32:10Speaker 3: say something different. I've heard them being asked questions by
- 32:14Speaker 3: a lot of people, and the consistent consensus answer is
- 32:19Speaker 3: that they're all pulling the same rope, all going the
- 32:21Speaker 3: same together, doing the same way, pulling in the same direction.
- 32:25Speaker 3: And I think that's so I can't say that I
- 32:28Speaker 3: trust one more than the other. I know Peter Bendix
- 32:31Speaker 3: has a unique way of evaluating talent and having a
- 32:35Speaker 3: couple a few conversations with them, the way they talk
- 32:38Speaker 3: about like even when they do like the MLB camps,
- 32:41Speaker 3: when they go evaluate some of those kids, the way
- 32:44Speaker 3: he talks about those, how he evaluates I don't completely understand,
- 32:49Speaker 3: but I can when he explained it a little bit
- 32:51Speaker 3: further to me, I'm like, I see how that can work. Honestly,
- 32:53Speaker 3: it's more of an in game type look instead of like, oh,
- 32:59Speaker 3: we're just evaluating how fast and how hard they throw
- 33:01Speaker 3: and the tools. There's a different way that he looks
- 33:04Speaker 3: at players. So I trust them with that, and then
- 33:05Speaker 3: I trust Clayton with the stability that he gives with
- 33:09Speaker 3: the team in how he's handled just adversity, how he's
- 33:14Speaker 3: handled the questions. I feel like when you're with an
- 33:18Speaker 3: organization that is being innovated, you get attacked from multiple levels.
- 33:22Speaker 3: And the way he's been able to navigate the questions
- 33:25Speaker 3: and still stay true to his job and to you know,
- 33:30Speaker 3: what he believes in, because I really do think that
- 33:33Speaker 3: they all believe that what is in place is going
- 33:36Speaker 3: to work. And again, you have to be totally bought
- 33:39Speaker 3: in when you're doing some innovative stuff because if not,
- 33:43Speaker 3: then if there's one person that slightly doesn't believe, then
- 33:46Speaker 3: that's going to be the collapse of everything that could
- 33:48Speaker 3: be because one person doesn't believe. So I think they're
- 33:51Speaker 3: all pulling in the same direction. So I guess I
- 33:56Speaker 3: trust both of them. But yeah, we'll see, we'll see
- 34:00Speaker 3: what happens.
- 34:02Speaker 5: Hey, a couple of guys on your roster, I mean
- 34:04Speaker 5: that have been reverly nice. Obviously Mac right, Mac has
- 34:07Speaker 5: come up and kind of solidified the catching. Now that
- 34:10Speaker 5: what's weird is is Hicks Rakes right, and he's kind
- 34:12Speaker 5: of a catcher. I guess right, I think he's if
- 34:14Speaker 5: he's not leading the league in RBIs he's up there,
- 34:17Speaker 5: and then Otto Lopez has been a revelation for this team.
- 34:20Speaker 5: So there are some stars that are on this Marlin
- 34:23Speaker 5: seam are potential stars that can lead them into this
- 34:26Speaker 5: next thing. What have you seen from those guys and
- 34:29Speaker 5: especially Lopez? I mean he should probably be an All Star.
- 34:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I think Lopez should be an All Star. The
- 34:34Speaker 3: way he grinds out AB's is really really cool. You know,
- 34:39Speaker 3: even when he gets two strikes. There's been a few
- 34:41Speaker 3: times where there's been he's down two strikes and what
- 34:44Speaker 3: he is he does he shortens up, hits the ball
- 34:46Speaker 3: the other way, and I think that's one of the
- 34:47Speaker 3: biggest things. It's such a like maybe people would say
- 34:50Speaker 3: an old school approach, but man, sometimes what's what's broke,
- 34:53Speaker 3: don't fix it right. And if you're able to hit
- 34:54Speaker 3: the ball of the opposite field, shorten up with two
- 34:57Speaker 3: strikes and then have a high contact rate, you have
- 35:00Speaker 3: good chance of possibly getting on base. And Auto is
- 35:03Speaker 3: fast so well. Auto has been able to do not
- 35:06Speaker 3: only at the plate but also defensively on the bass pass.
- 35:11Speaker 3: He's just a hard worker, a great demeanor, He's humble,
- 35:16Speaker 3: and he's one of those guys that you can see
- 35:19Speaker 3: can weather a downturn because throughout the season you're gonna
- 35:24Speaker 3: go through a slump. And some guys maybe when they're
- 35:27Speaker 3: playing well, they go through a slump and all of
- 35:28Speaker 3: a sudden they go, no, the sky's falling. Auto is
- 35:30Speaker 3: not that type of personality. He understands that eventually is
- 35:33Speaker 3: gonna get out of it. Liam Hicks put in a
- 35:35Speaker 3: lot of hard work. The biggest thing with Liam Hicks
- 35:37Speaker 3: is that he has confidence. Man. He has a lot
- 35:40Speaker 3: of confidence. And because he put in the work, people ask,
- 35:43Speaker 3: how do you get confidence? You know, what's the way
- 35:46Speaker 3: you get confidence? Well, you put in the work. Liam
- 35:49Speaker 3: Hicks already had a high contact rate in his career,
- 35:52Speaker 3: and then he added and it's literally one mile an
- 35:54Speaker 3: hour to his bat speed, and it allowed him to
- 35:59Speaker 3: really trust the process that he's going through and then
- 36:02Speaker 3: have so much more time to navigate what pitch is
- 36:05Speaker 3: coming to him. He's lets the ball get deep, he
- 36:08Speaker 3: hits the ball opposite field. When the balls when it's
- 36:11Speaker 3: a leverage count in his favor, He's gonna try to
- 36:14Speaker 3: do damage. He's gonna try to do some pull side.
- 36:16Speaker 3: But his approach has really really changed to where he's
- 36:20Speaker 3: maximizing balls in damage zones and taking his taking his chances.
- 36:25Speaker 3: The other guy's Joe Matt. His his progression so far
- 36:28Speaker 3: has been awesome. They were getting him down with change
- 36:30Speaker 3: ups away, sinkers away for varieties and down back foot sliders,
- 36:35Speaker 3: and he's been able to lay off some of that stuff,
- 36:37Speaker 3: choose his zone and now he's doing damage. So that
- 36:40Speaker 3: young growth from that that uh, that type of rookie.
- 36:45Speaker 3: He's only what she's two or three weeks into this
- 36:49Speaker 3: into his career in the big leagues. Uh. And then
- 36:52Speaker 3: what he does behind the plate, you can see why
- 36:54Speaker 3: they want him to be the everyday catcher. He's just
- 36:57Speaker 3: one of those guys that he blocks the ball great,
- 37:00Speaker 3: receives the ball well, and he has a cannon. So
- 37:03Speaker 3: there's a lot of upside with Joe Mack.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Great analysis. I love listening to Fish on first with
- 37:10Speaker 2: you on there too. AJ really appreciate the time, man,
- 37:13Speaker 2: thanks for catching us up on a team that you
- 37:15Speaker 2: get some more attention right now.
- 37:17Speaker 3: Yeah, sir, I appreciate you guys having me on
