- 0:04Speaker 1: six forty.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Story about the ninety five year old going to the doctor,
- 0:14Speaker 2: the urologist and saying, doctor, I'm having a very hard
- 0:17Speaker 2: time peeing.
- 0:18Speaker 3: How old are you? I'm ninety five.
- 0:20Speaker 2: You've peted enough and that's the issue with Warren Buffett.
- 0:24Speaker 3: And now Handle on the news. Ladies and gentlemen, here's
- 0:29Speaker 3: Bill Handle. Good morning everybody.
- 0:33Speaker 2: It is a Thursday morning, November thirteenth, and we're expecting
- 0:39Speaker 2: the rains.
- 0:40Speaker 3: I think this afternoon, right, Amy.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Yeah, it's gonna be.
- 0:43Speaker 5: It's looking more like it's going to roll in tonight,
- 0:46Speaker 5: so we may we may not be affected for the
- 0:49Speaker 5: afternoon commute like we were thinking yesterday.
- 0:51Speaker 4: So that's good news.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gonna be a rough couple of days as
- 0:55Speaker 2: this thing comes in. Hopefully it's a fast moving storm
- 0:58Speaker 2: that is not going to be part above us anyway.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Good morning, Amy, Hi, how are you?
- 1:02Speaker 6: Hey?
- 1:03Speaker 3: Good?
- 1:03Speaker 2: Good?
- 1:04Speaker 3: H Do you care?
- 1:05Speaker 6: No?
- 1:06Speaker 2: Hey?
- 1:07Speaker 4: Do care?
- 1:07Speaker 2: Bill always see I'm sorry to got the way around.
- 1:10Speaker 2: I care No, good morning, Kno, good morning, And I
- 1:13Speaker 2: don't care. I know you don't Dan Neil who I
- 1:17Speaker 2: don't care if you care? But right, care, right, Neil cares? Okay,
- 1:23Speaker 2: will you don't care what happened exactly? And and good
- 1:31Speaker 2: morning morning Bill?
- 1:32Speaker 3: I care? I know you do. It's lovely that we
- 1:35Speaker 3: all care.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I was just watching a news Fox News up on
- 1:40Speaker 2: the monitor, and I thought was kind of strange because
- 1:44Speaker 2: the interview was with Neil Gorsic, Associate just Supreme Court,
- 1:49Speaker 2: one of the nine Supreme Court justices.
- 1:51Speaker 3: I'm going, what the hell is going on?
- 1:53Speaker 2: I mean, when does the Supreme Court? Supreme Court justice
- 1:56Speaker 2: go on Fox? He wrote a children's book. A Supreme
- 2:02Speaker 2: Court justice. He wrote a children's book. I'm going while
- 2:06Speaker 2: and he's talking about it and pitching it, and the
- 2:10Speaker 2: title is, if your mommy gets an abortion, She's going
- 2:12Speaker 2: straight to hell?
- 2:13Speaker 3: Why do I have that right?
- 2:14Speaker 6: Pretty close? No, it's called if your mommy got an abortion?
- 2:17Speaker 6: You wouldn't be reading this?
- 2:20Speaker 2: Uh, also true. But I like the first one better
- 2:25Speaker 2: because it's never mind. I actually I'd love to see it.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I don't know, I can't even imagine what it would
- 2:33Speaker 2: be like. In any case, let's.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Abortion. I know what abortion is about, okay, I think.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Well, you produce one every day here, Okay, all right, it's.
- 2:49Speaker 3: A slow start. Okay, it's a slow.
- 2:52Speaker 6: Squaky wheel.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I know it's I was just thinking I was
- 2:54Speaker 2: processing that. All right, Well, we have the bill passed.
- 3:00Speaker 2: The funding of the US government is now on track.
- 3:04Speaker 2: The big news regarding the funding snap bill, snap payments
- 3:09Speaker 2: will be made very interesting, and the politics of it.
- 3:11Speaker 2: We'll talk a little bit later on about how it's
- 3:14Speaker 2: being portrayed both by the Democrats and the Republicans, and
- 3:18Speaker 2: they are not on the same planet in describing what
- 3:20Speaker 2: happened and what was brought up. As far as traveling,
- 3:25Speaker 2: be prepared for next few days at least, the delays
- 3:30Speaker 2: and the cancellations going up, although I understand that air
- 3:34Speaker 2: traffic controllers are coming back in droves, and then the
- 3:38Speaker 2: entire issue two thousand dollars per well, ten thousand dollars
- 3:43Speaker 2: per air traffic controller who worked for any of them
- 3:46Speaker 2: who worked during the shutdown, Now, how about those they
- 3:49Speaker 2: called in sick. I was just thinking about that and
- 3:53Speaker 2: asked for the ten thousand dollars and saying, hey, I
- 3:57Speaker 2: was working, I was just sick. You can't just you
- 3:59Speaker 2: can not penalize me for being sick.
- 4:04Speaker 3: And I'm thinking different.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Ways of attacking this and is it gonna happen? I
- 4:09Speaker 2: don't think so, because I think it was just another
- 4:12Speaker 2: one of those the President woke up in the morning
- 4:14Speaker 2: and said, Hey, why don't we try this, you know,
- 4:17Speaker 2: throwing out the trial balloons? Okay, anything else going on,
- 4:22Speaker 2: folks that you want to talk about before we jump
- 4:24Speaker 2: into the news, Say what was going on?
- 4:29Speaker 3: Same old It's going to rain?
- 4:31Speaker 5: Okay, President, Yeah, kind of going down the list.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Yeah, President writing to the Israeli head of state, the
- 4:42Speaker 2: President of Israel, to pardon Atenahu.
- 4:44Speaker 3: How unusual that one is.
- 4:46Speaker 2: So we have some fun stuff to talk about in
- 4:48Speaker 2: the meantime, Why don't we hit the news straight on? Okay,
- 4:51Speaker 2: it's time for handle on the news on this Thursday morning,
- 4:54Speaker 2: November thirteenth. We're right around from Thanksgiving and on th
- 5:00Speaker 2: just a quick reminder before we hit the news, is
- 5:02Speaker 2: that Thanksgiving Day Thursday and Friday.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Neil, you're filling in both days, right, yes, sir?
- 5:09Speaker 4: Right?
- 5:09Speaker 3: Okay? Yeah, Well, every.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Single year Neil fills in for me and has for
- 5:16Speaker 2: many many years. On Thanksgiving. It he gives recipes and
- 5:20Speaker 2: it's all and when I tune in, it's basically always
- 5:23Speaker 2: the same thing, all right, don't put a frozen turkey
- 5:26Speaker 2: into a turkey fryar and don't buy a butterball turkey
- 5:31Speaker 2: with that little pop up because that doesn't do very much.
- 5:34Speaker 6: I don't even think they put those in there anymore.
- 5:38Speaker 3: You know, you're right.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Have you heard your legal show. It's the same questions
- 5:43Speaker 1: and the same answer.
- 5:45Speaker 3: That's true. Yes, well, it's always the same answer.
- 5:49Speaker 2: I know it's different answers because I start to make
- 5:50Speaker 2: them up, but yeah, it's pretty much the same over
- 5:55Speaker 2: the years.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Yeah, you pretty much hear the same thing.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Occasionally I'll get a new one and ocasionally you'll get
- 6:00Speaker 2: a new one, and it's always Oh and I have
- 6:03Speaker 2: a frozen turkey and I want to defrost.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Its frozen turkey, and I'm going to sue them because
- 6:10Speaker 1: it should be cooked.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, and you always talk about you do not
- 6:14Speaker 2: want a turkey sicle. It doesn't work out, okay, handle
- 6:18Speaker 2: on the news, Amy Neil and Me lead story Get out.
- 6:25Speaker 4: Out, We got it.
- 6:28Speaker 2: The federal government is officially on its way to reopening
- 6:31Speaker 2: because last night the President signed the law and the
- 6:37Speaker 2: spending package went through narrowly passing the House. On a
- 6:41Speaker 2: shutdown in the nation's history. So President Trump has number one,
- 6:46Speaker 2: he has number two, and I don't.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Know who the third.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Uh when the third longest shutdown was. During the course
- 6:54Speaker 2: of the last decade, decade, two decades, three decades, these
- 6:59Speaker 2: shut downs happen almost regularly. There are more that happened
- 7:04Speaker 2: then don't happen. But it's one day, two days. If
- 7:08Speaker 2: it goes beyond two days and heads into several days,
- 7:11Speaker 2: and it starts becoming big news.
- 7:13Speaker 3: This one forty three days.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Until the new budget, until the shutdown was averted, stopped, goodbye.
- 7:23Speaker 2: And so we'll talk more about that coming up, Okay.
- 7:27Speaker 2: And then there's all the politics about the snap the
- 7:32Speaker 2: food stamps situation, where the administration is saying, we've always
- 7:36Speaker 2: wanted food stamps to be issued and we were stopped
- 7:39Speaker 2: by the Democrats. They go, wait a minute, hold on,
- 7:43Speaker 2: am I hearing this right? So everybody is looking at
- 7:46Speaker 2: it in totally different ways. So more about that at
- 7:50Speaker 2: seven o'clock. Ooh.
- 7:53Speaker 5: Another attempt at taking down Trump. Documents have been released
- 7:57Speaker 5: by the House Oversight Committee that are basically emails to
- 8:02Speaker 5: and from Jeffrey Ebstein about Donald Trump, and they say
- 8:07Speaker 5: he knew about the sexual abuse of underage girls, but
- 8:10Speaker 5: never participated. The thousands of pages of documents were released,
- 8:15Speaker 5: Epstein wrote in an email to himself in February of
- 8:19Speaker 5: twenty nineteen that Trump knew about it, and he came
- 8:22Speaker 5: to my house many times during that period. That happened
- 8:25Speaker 5: several months before he was arrested on sex trafficking charges.
- 8:30Speaker 2: This one looks like I've guessed right on this all along.
- 8:34Speaker 3: I have said for a.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Long period of time, did Donald Trump participate in having
- 8:41Speaker 2: sex with minors?
- 8:42Speaker 3: I don't believe that at all. For a bunch of reasons.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Was he aware?
- 8:48Speaker 2: Epstein says he was, but there isn't a whole lot
- 8:51Speaker 2: of proof that he did, so I don't think there's
- 8:54Speaker 2: a lot there. What the downside, where the toxicity is,
- 8:58Speaker 2: is that Donald Trump was a lot closer to Epstein
- 9:02Speaker 2: than he said that. That relationship went deeper and it
- 9:06Speaker 2: went longer, and anything close to Epstein. If you changed,
- 9:11Speaker 2: if you were a member of the Triple A, if
- 9:13Speaker 2: you were a driver, a tow truck driver, and you
- 9:15Speaker 2: changed Epstein's tire, that connection is going to come back
- 9:20Speaker 2: to bite you in the ass. So that's what I
- 9:24Speaker 2: think is going to pan out. Donald Trump saying I
- 9:26Speaker 2: barely knew the guy. I stopped, you know, decades ago. No, No,
- 9:30Speaker 2: the relationship kept on going. Was he involved in any
- 9:33Speaker 2: of the wrongdoing. No, And I'll tell you why. It's
- 9:35Speaker 2: not even a moral call morality, which, of course, the
- 9:39Speaker 2: morality of having sex with minors is insane.
- 9:42Speaker 3: That's just not Trump's wheelhouse.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Jeffrey Epstein's brother was interviewed and knew about this entire relationship,
- 9:49Speaker 2: and he said Epstein and Trump, their relationship were twenty
- 9:52Speaker 2: year old, twenty something year old models.
- 9:55Speaker 6: That's Trump.
- 9:56Speaker 2: He's not interested in. You know, the youngest is in
- 9:59Speaker 2: there in their twenties. That's been his history when he
- 10:02Speaker 2: was younger. And now, I mean, look at the women
- 10:04Speaker 2: he's been with, you know, Miss Universe contests. So that
- 10:09Speaker 2: that I think is the reality. It's just not his wheelhouse.
- 10:12Speaker 2: I just don't you know why.
- 10:14Speaker 1: I don't think so either. But in twenty nineteen, he
- 10:17Speaker 1: had Trump telling reporters that he had no idea about
- 10:20Speaker 1: what was going on.
- 10:21Speaker 5: Yeah, that is exactly what was he supposed to say. Oh,
- 10:24Speaker 5: sure I knew he was trafficking.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree, and there isn't He's never going to
- 10:29Speaker 2: kill them. As the wrongdoing.
- 10:31Speaker 1: If he did have knowledge of that, I'm not going
- 10:35Speaker 1: to say that it's worse than if he participated, but.
- 10:39Speaker 6: That's pretty horrific too.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Knowledge of that, Yeah, I think.
- 10:44Speaker 1: I think there was so many there's not the president
- 10:47Speaker 1: of the United States, and well he wasn't the president
- 10:50Speaker 1: of the United States.
- 10:51Speaker 3: A bat had it.
- 10:52Speaker 1: But listen, you have mothers that look the other way
- 10:55Speaker 1: when their husbands are raping their children.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Yeah, you do me.
- 11:00Speaker 6: That is absolutely equal across the board.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Right now.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Whether he had knowledge or not that one, I don't know.
- 11:09Speaker 2: But remember with how many people knew about Harvey Weinstein,
- 11:13Speaker 2: Harvey even to the to the point, to the point
- 11:17Speaker 2: at at one of the Awards dinners that was televised,
- 11:21Speaker 2: the joke on the stage was how many women that
- 11:26Speaker 2: Harvey Weinstein had sex within?
- 11:29Speaker 4: Everybody laughed very nervously.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so. I think.
- 11:35Speaker 2: I think the downside, what I think, what I think
- 11:37Speaker 2: the downside is going to be is Trump just had
- 11:40Speaker 2: closer relationships with Epstein, and I don't think he knew
- 11:46Speaker 2: of it, although a lot of people did, or maybe
- 11:48Speaker 2: he heard rumors, I mean knowing directly other than hearing rumors.
- 11:53Speaker 3: What do you do with that. I don't know how
- 11:55Speaker 3: far that goes.
- 11:56Speaker 2: But Trump has never been accused of anything involving the
- 12:00Speaker 2: Epstein matter, nothing by anybody.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Okay, we talked about this yesterday a little bit as
- 12:07Speaker 1: Congresswoman Adelita greed Jalva.
- 12:16Speaker 6: What's her background? Is she a Latina? I have no idea.
- 12:20Speaker 1: She was sworn in as a US House of Representative,
- 12:24Speaker 1: the newest member. And the whole thing behind this ties
- 12:28Speaker 1: into the Epstein files because she will pave a way
- 12:32Speaker 1: for Jeffrey Epstein files vote and those files to be opened.
- 12:38Speaker 1: We had a little trickle of the emails, but we're
- 12:41Speaker 1: all wondering to see how deepness goes.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Now Congress is voting with her signature, is now mandating
- 12:48Speaker 2: that Department of.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Justice released those files.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Of course, Mike Johnson has been fighting a fighting at
- 12:54Speaker 2: fighting it because the president doesn't want those released. We're
- 12:57Speaker 2: getting and you can see why because we're getting some
- 12:59Speaker 2: of the bits and pieces. Mike Johnson refused to to
- 13:04Speaker 2: swear in because the Congress with the House was not
- 13:08Speaker 2: in session, because he wouldn't let the House be in session,
- 13:11Speaker 2: and when he was asked.
- 13:13Speaker 3: But you did it before with other people to be
- 13:15Speaker 3: sworn in. That was his answer.
- 13:21Speaker 6: Okay, solid, So Gov.
- 13:23Speaker 5: Gav wants to get away from this one. The governor's
- 13:28Speaker 5: former chief of staff has been indicted by a federal
- 13:31Speaker 5: grand jury.
- 13:32Speaker 4: Her name is Dana Williamson.
- 13:34Speaker 5: She's accused of conspiring with others to steal two hundred
- 13:39Speaker 5: and twenty five thousand dollars from dorman political campaign and
- 13:44Speaker 5: then funneling that into a friend's account over a three
- 13:46Speaker 5: year period. And Governor Newsom again distancing himself from this person.
- 13:53Speaker 5: He says he was not involved in the matter and
- 13:55Speaker 5: not mentioned in the legal documents from the Department of Justice.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Yeah, at this point, there doesn't seem to be any connection.
- 14:04Speaker 2: But in terms of this the wrongdoing with John's with
- 14:08Speaker 2: Governor Newsom, although there is an allegation against the Department
- 14:15Speaker 2: of Justice saying that the department was forcing her trying
- 14:20Speaker 2: to get her to connect Newsome with this, but again
- 14:26Speaker 2: there's no proof of that either. So it's you know it, basically,
- 14:31Speaker 2: it's a thief who happened to be working for the
- 14:33Speaker 2: governor or actually wasn't even employed of the governor at
- 14:35Speaker 2: the time, and stole some money. And therefore we've got
- 14:38Speaker 2: to make a huge deal about it. It's your regular
- 14:40Speaker 2: normal corruption case. Stole money, thank you, let's go to prison.
- 14:45Speaker 6: Follow the hair gel. Yeah, it'll come out.
- 14:48Speaker 3: I like what you spend money on. That was so terrific.
- 14:52Speaker 2: It's fifteen thousand dollars for a handbag and just a pet.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Yeah oh yeah, really yeah dollars at an amusement park,
- 15:01Speaker 2: at a theme park. How do you do that? So anyway,
- 15:04Speaker 2: private jets all that, okay?
- 15:06Speaker 6: Parking, yeah, parking.
- 15:08Speaker 1: President Jasnel Trump remains committed to that two thousand bucks
- 15:14Speaker 1: that sending each American two thousand dollars dividend check and
- 15:19Speaker 1: distribute from the tariff revenue.
- 15:21Speaker 6: So we'll see if that ever happens.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Of course, he gave the caveat about anybody that makes
- 15:27Speaker 1: too much money, but.
- 15:29Speaker 3: It's means tested. Means testing makes a lot of sense.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Yeah, there's an argument that social security should go that
- 15:37Speaker 2: should be means tested. A lot of arguments that you
- 15:40Speaker 2: know at some point you don't need the money, so
- 15:44Speaker 2: that works.
- 15:45Speaker 3: I'll buy that.
- 15:46Speaker 2: And what I like about this story is that no
- 15:49Speaker 2: one knew about it except the president one day, I
- 15:52Speaker 2: think in the morning a few days ago, said hey,
- 15:54Speaker 2: why don't we try this one, and everybody's scrambling.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Okay, let's see what we can do with this one.
- 16:01Speaker 3: And so there's no specifics.
- 16:02Speaker 6: Pardon, pizza for everyone.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Pizza for everyone.
- 16:06Speaker 6: Yep.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Even Treasury Sectory Scott Bissent Or Bessent said maybe he's
- 16:12Speaker 2: referring to tax savings under the big beautiful bill. That's
- 16:16Speaker 2: what he was referring to. So it's just fun one
- 16:20Speaker 2: thing day to day at all changes.
- 16:24Speaker 5: Fewer people are who are here illegally or driving big
- 16:29Speaker 5: trucks legally.
- 16:30Speaker 4: In California, the.
- 16:32Speaker 5: State plans to revoke seventeen thousand commercial driver licenses. The
- 16:37Speaker 5: Trump administration had raised concerns. Remember that there was a
- 16:40Speaker 5: really nasty crash in Florida and then there was another
- 16:43Speaker 5: one out in Ontario on the ten involving illegally illegal
- 16:48Speaker 5: immigrants driving big league big rig trucks.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Easy for me to say.
- 16:53Speaker 5: But Governor Newsom says, it's not because Trump raised concerns
- 16:57Speaker 5: about it. It's because the DMV checked the lay licenses
- 17:00Speaker 5: and discovered that the expiration dates went past when the
- 17:05Speaker 5: drivers were legally allowed to be in the US.
- 17:08Speaker 2: How does what if the DMV have a connection with
- 17:10Speaker 2: that explain that to me. I don't get that. How
- 17:13Speaker 2: the DMV knows whether someone is legal or not? I
- 17:18Speaker 2: don't get that at all. What do you mean how
- 17:23Speaker 2: does a DMV know whether someone is legal or not?
- 17:27Speaker 2: How do they have records to immigration? Maybe I'm missing something.
- 17:32Speaker 5: Well, I would imagine that they have to provide a
- 17:36Speaker 5: visa or if it's not proof of citizenship, it would
- 17:38Speaker 5: be a visa or something like that.
- 17:40Speaker 6: Right, don't you have to And isn't that a question
- 17:42Speaker 6: on there whether you're I.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Think I think in California you can be a non
- 17:47Speaker 2: documented and still get a driver's license. I do believe that.
- 17:50Speaker 2: And maybe it's so I don't know. And the administration,
- 17:53Speaker 2: I mean, is right you don't want people who are
- 17:57Speaker 2: here illegally to have driver's licenses. I'll buy that, although
- 18:00Speaker 2: there's an argument on the other side too. Wouldn't you
- 18:02Speaker 2: rather have someone who has a driver's license drive around
- 18:05Speaker 2: than someone who doesn't have a driver's license drive around
- 18:07Speaker 2: because at least you take the test to get a
- 18:09Speaker 2: driver's license. So the point is seventeen thousand commercial driver's
- 18:17Speaker 2: license given to immigrants?
- 18:22Speaker 3: This after the Trump administration raised concerns.
- 18:25Speaker 2: That's when California says, Okay, we'll revoke seventeen thousand of these.
- 18:30Speaker 2: So I'm a little confused about that. But the bottom
- 18:33Speaker 2: line is you don't want illegal aliens to have driver's
- 18:38Speaker 2: licenses unless you do God damn it, good stuff here.
- 18:45Speaker 2: I mean, that's just analysis beyond analysis. Sometimes I walk
- 18:49Speaker 2: away shaking my head as to how brilliant I am
- 18:51Speaker 2: with this stuff.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Well, nothing new around here in southern California. When you
- 18:56Speaker 1: have big fires like we did in January, the Bird
- 18:59Speaker 1: scar areas including you know, Canyon Eton Palisades, all of
- 19:04Speaker 1: these areas, of course, we're going to have the concern
- 19:07Speaker 1: of rain. So evacuation warnings have been issued for several
- 19:12Speaker 1: of these scar areas in Los Angeles County officials of
- 19:16Speaker 1: course preparing for heavy rain, as Amy was saying on
- 19:20Speaker 1: wake up call, probably coming near the end of the
- 19:24Speaker 1: day or into the evening tonight, but those evacuations will
- 19:30Speaker 1: probably start as our guests.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll be hearing more tomorrow about what areas have flooded.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Sure, because we're looking at one hundred percent chance of
- 19:38Speaker 1: rain tomorrow, rain and Saturday. So civil rights leader, as
- 19:46Speaker 1: you heard earlier as well, Reverend Jesse Jackson hospitalized in Chicago.
- 19:50Speaker 1: So he has apparently some sort of neurological or neuro
- 19:57Speaker 1: degenerative condition that he's had for for a decade, his
- 20:01Speaker 1: organization said, And the family is appreciating all prayers at
- 20:06Speaker 1: this time, but not going on much more than that.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Yeah, they originally thought he had Parkinson's, but it looks
- 20:13Speaker 2: like he doesn't. Although you know, the symptoms were much
- 20:15Speaker 2: the same, shaking of the hands and all that. It's
- 20:19Speaker 2: tough to see people at parkinson My mom had Parkinson's.
- 20:23Speaker 6: Yeah, it is absolutely tough.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Yeah, it was so difficult to try to shake hands
- 20:27Speaker 2: with her the last few years of your life.
- 20:29Speaker 6: You just couldn't do it along with you.
- 20:31Speaker 3: Why all right?
- 20:33Speaker 4: Moving on, UCLA may or may not be moving So.
- 20:38Speaker 5: Pasadena and the Rose Bowl took UCLA to court yesterday
- 20:42Speaker 5: and they said, hey, you can't talk to anybody about
- 20:45Speaker 5: leaving the Rose Bowl and maybe playing at Sofi Stadium.
- 20:48Speaker 5: But the judge denied a request for a temporary restraining
- 20:51Speaker 5: order that tro would prevent UCLA from moving over to
- 20:55Speaker 5: so Far the Rose Bull has a lease with UCLA
- 20:59Speaker 5: to play at the stadium through twenty forty four.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Yeah, we did a story on this one and the
- 21:06Speaker 2: reason and the tro the temporary restraining order. The judge
- 21:09Speaker 2: said no because there's no game scheduled. You know, what
- 21:13Speaker 2: do we do tell you not to do what you're
- 21:15Speaker 2: not going to do.
- 21:16Speaker 5: Anyway, Although UCLA has not said that it is not
- 21:20Speaker 5: considering relocation.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Oh oh, no, UCLA is considering relocation. Can they await
- 21:26Speaker 2: that contract? Well, you can have to pay for it,
- 21:29Speaker 2: obviously there's going to be yeah. I mean you can
- 21:32Speaker 2: break a contract anyway you want. Just what are the
- 21:34Speaker 2: consequences And they're talking about breaking it and they're trying
- 21:38Speaker 2: to figure out it's just dollars, that's all breaking the
- 21:41Speaker 2: contract and moving over to sofar. What does UCLA get
- 21:44Speaker 2: well on it gets ticket revenues big time, it gets
- 21:47Speaker 2: revenues from parking, It gets revenues from the concessions, the merchandising,
- 21:52Speaker 2: which it doesn't yet at the Rose Bowl. So it's
- 21:55Speaker 2: just a question of dollars. And what the Rose Bowl
- 21:58Speaker 2: and Pass they didn't want is a billion dollars in
- 22:01Speaker 2: damages if that contract is broken.
- 22:03Speaker 3: So no dollars to donuts. That's the other thing.
- 22:07Speaker 2: They don't get any donuts that are sold on site.
- 22:11Speaker 2: UCLA doesn't get and would if the move happened.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Supply and demand now it is if you have the supply,
- 22:18Speaker 1: we demand what you pay for it or how much
- 22:21Speaker 1: you can charge. You have the Los Angeles City Council
- 22:25Speaker 1: voting yesterday basically what they're trying to do. They're trying
- 22:28Speaker 1: to strengthen the rent stabilization law for the first time
- 22:32Speaker 1: in forty years. They're setting a four percent ceiling on
- 22:36Speaker 1: an annual rent increases for a massive portion of the
- 22:40Speaker 1: city's housing stock, which you know, on one side you think, oh,
- 22:45Speaker 1: this is gonna be great. On the other side, you've
- 22:47Speaker 1: got you know, landlords going well, okay, then we're not
- 22:50Speaker 1: going to fix things, and right.
- 22:52Speaker 6: It's going to change. You know, it's not gonna be making.
- 22:56Speaker 2: None of those This is zero sum games. So every
- 22:59Speaker 2: time someone win on one side, the other side loses.
- 23:03Speaker 6: So what are you gonna do. Have the government owned housing, Well.
- 23:07Speaker 4: That's one way of doing it Downny wants.
- 23:09Speaker 2: The Yeah, he does, but he wants the government to
- 23:13Speaker 2: officially own all of New York, every building, every city,
- 23:16Speaker 2: every street, and you will be working for the government.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Now that's communism. He doesn't want that. He wants socialism.
- 23:22Speaker 2: He wants you, actually, he wants you to make as
- 23:23Speaker 2: much money as you possibly can and just give it
- 23:25Speaker 2: all to him, to spend all the social phlograms.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Yeah, and then he'll give me out.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Trust.
- 23:31Speaker 2: You know, everybody thinks that Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren
- 23:35Speaker 2: hate rich people.
- 23:36Speaker 3: They love rich people. They love rich people.
- 23:39Speaker 6: What's the old saying socialism?
- 23:41Speaker 1: Socialism stops working when you run out of other people's money.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Pretty much, the richer people get, the more money you
- 23:48Speaker 2: can get from them in taxes.
- 23:52Speaker 3: Oh, I saw one of these the other day.
- 23:54Speaker 5: Way Mo robo taxis on way Mow roadways.
- 23:59Speaker 6: But up up up.
- 24:00Speaker 5: Waimo has announced that it is going to start taking
- 24:02Speaker 5: customers on the freeways in its one hundred and twenty
- 24:05Speaker 5: square mile service area in Los Angeles, also going to
- 24:08Speaker 5: expand to freeways in San Francisco Bay Area and Phoenix.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Now.
- 24:12Speaker 5: They've been out testing on the freeways with safety drivers
- 24:15Speaker 5: in place since early this year. They say, you know what,
- 24:19Speaker 5: we're at a point now we think it's safe enough,
- 24:21Speaker 5: and so we're going to go ahead and expand.
- 24:23Speaker 4: They've been driving on city streets for the last year.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I wonder about people who shut this stuff down saying, oh,
- 24:31Speaker 2: we have some crashes, Okay, how many crashes happened as
- 24:35Speaker 2: a result of human error, drunk people driving, people falling asleep,
- 24:40Speaker 2: just blowing it negligence.
- 24:44Speaker 3: This is the way of the future.
- 24:46Speaker 2: I've often said that if we have everybody driving in
- 24:50Speaker 2: these fully automated cars, then all of our gridlock disappears.
- 24:56Speaker 4: Isn't that be cool?
- 24:57Speaker 2: It would because cars can drive sixty five miles hour
- 25:00Speaker 2: right next to each other, literally up to the bumper,
- 25:04Speaker 2: and the technology is such that you wouldn't have someone,
- 25:09Speaker 2: you know, twenty cars up or a half mile car up,
- 25:11Speaker 2: you know, do a sudden stop, make a turn, and
- 25:13Speaker 2: then it all ripples back, all that disappears.
- 25:16Speaker 3: It would be wonderful.
- 25:17Speaker 6: Well, now, who are you're going to road rage against.
- 25:20Speaker 3: One computer road rages against the other computer?
- 25:22Speaker 6: Yeah, and then gives them a virus? Yeah boy? All right?
- 25:27Speaker 1: So the gondola project that Dodger's gondola project was shot
- 25:32Speaker 1: down by city Council. They voted twelve to one on
- 25:34Speaker 1: Wednesday to urge Metro to reject this proposal five hundred
- 25:39Speaker 1: million dollars connecting Union Station to Dodgers Stadium interestingly enough,
- 25:45Speaker 1: they said, who was it?
- 25:47Speaker 6: Unices?
- 25:48Speaker 1: Hernandez said, this resolution tells Metro that the city of
- 25:51Speaker 1: Los Angeles refuses to be bought by shiny renderings and
- 25:56Speaker 1: empty promises. However, the state of California is fine with
- 26:01Speaker 1: that when it comes to a high speed train.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Yes, and now I'm.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Going to do more about this seven thirty by the way,
- 26:05Speaker 2: because there's it's a story. Oh, this is a great case.
- 26:09Speaker 2: I love this one.
- 26:10Speaker 4: Cheaters beware.
- 26:12Speaker 5: A woman in North Carolina is going to have to
- 26:14Speaker 5: pay one point seventy five million dollars because a jury
- 26:17Speaker 5: found her liable for destroying a couple's marriage in Durham,
- 26:21Speaker 5: North Carolina. The lawsuit was filed against Brene Canard. She's
- 26:27Speaker 5: an influencer. She has nearly three million followers on TikTok
- 26:31Speaker 5: and two hundred and seventy five thousand followers on Instagram.
- 26:35Speaker 5: She was accused of seducing and having an affair with
- 26:37Speaker 5: her manager, Tim Montague.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Yeah, interfering with the marriage and stealing away someone, interference,
- 26:46Speaker 2: alienation of affection.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Now, California, you can't do this. That's great.
- 26:51Speaker 2: You can cheat all you want in California. Rude, Yeah,
- 26:54Speaker 2: I mean this is I love cases like this. Also,
- 26:57Speaker 2: this case reminds me also of the case where you
- 27:02Speaker 2: have Oh my god, I'll think about this. Uh oh mine,
- 27:07Speaker 2: my mind just went because it's one of my favorite
- 27:09Speaker 2: lawsuits in the entire world.
- 27:12Speaker 4: Is it about cheaters?
- 27:14Speaker 3: No, No, it's about having sex.
- 27:16Speaker 2: It's about negligence when you hurt me and my spouse
- 27:22Speaker 2: is suing you because I can't stuper anymore. Oh and
- 27:27Speaker 2: I'm trying to think of that. I can't believe that
- 27:29Speaker 2: I forgot the phrase there. So anyway, those are great cases.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Those are allowed in California, and they're always hilarious.
- 27:39Speaker 3: But that's besides the point. All Right, we're done.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Great state North Carolina where you can do that. You
- 27:45Speaker 2: steal someone's spouse away, you get.
- 27:47Speaker 5: Sued and get out one point seventy five dollars.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Well you yeah, you get hit for one point seventy
- 27:54Speaker 2: five million dollars when you steal someone's spouse. I'm just
- 27:57Speaker 2: trying to think how many of us would pay to
- 28:00Speaker 2: have our spouse stolen. We're done, Okay, how about you?
- 28:07Speaker 6: Great as long as they're good, as.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Long as you're not married. Marriages are great. It's a
- 28:14Speaker 2: wonderful thing marriage. I know you do, I know you do.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Okay KFI, I am six.
- 28:21Speaker 3: You've been listening to The Bill Handle Show.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Catch My Show Monday through Friday, six am to nine am,
