  went out that way. We went to Billings, Mt once,

  but we just did some snowmobiling this time.

  We did winter in Yellowstone with Kim and myself and Oh my

  God, the memories that we've made and that that's 2 winter

  vacations in a row. If you remember, last year we

  did a Calgary, we did the Canadian Rockies.

  having a big birthday coming up. I'm not going to say what it is,

  but she wants to go to Banff. She wants to go to Banff coming

  up in August. So we may be doing that.

  You you fly into Calgary, get yourself a rental car and go

  over to Banff. You will literally love that

  and the the town is just so quaint and nice and there's

  just, it's just fun. You take a little boat ride out

  Charlie Marlow made a social media post roughly 2 weeks ago.

  It was on the social media site X and this social media post is

  at 1.1 million views. And I told Charlie, I said,

  Charlie, I've got to talk to you about this.

  Let me interview you. So I'm going to read this to

  you, everybody. And Charlie, please edit this up

  and we're going to drop this in right now.

  Everybody. I'm going to read it as you look

  at it, everybody. Charlie Marlowe says no

  parenting class can prepare you for the agony of watching your
• 5:09
  daughter go roughly O and 17 from the field in a basketball
• 5:14
  game. And Charlie, you're Saint Louis
• 5:19
  friends. They all respond.

  Course, I call him the Cat in the Hat.

  Jim Hayes, he says blame the coach.

  Obviously she's not getting the ball in the optimum situation
• 5:30
  for her particular skill set. If you're the coach, blame the
• 5:33
  other players and possibly their parents.
• 5:37
  And then it goes on and on. OK, tell me it's your show now.

  What was this all about? So this is about, yeah, 10 days
• 5:47
  ago. My daughter is 8.
• 5:50
  She plays in the second grade basketball league.
• 5:52
  And I am the coach also. So I put this out there, right?
• 5:56
  And we've won one game, by the way.
• 5:57
  I think we're won in five or one in six.
• 6:00
  We have our final game coming up.
• 6:02
  So I'm trying my best. We're trying our best.

  And the other day, and by the way, you were talking today
• 6:10
  about, you know, positivity versus negativity with NASCAR
• 6:13
  and all that. And it's the same with X.

  The negative people are always the loudest.
• 6:17
  I think the reason this got 1.1 million views.

  And if you scroll through the comments, there's a lot of great
• 6:24
  stories from other parents who who got the gist of it, which is
• 6:28
  almost everybody's watched their kid play a sport and they had a
• 6:31
  really bad day, really bad game. Your kid goes over for five and
• 6:35
  strikes out four or five times in baseball.
• 6:37
  They have a game like my daughter where she missed every
• 6:39
  shot in the basketball game, whatever different sport.
• 6:41
  People were telling me their kid was playing hockey and falling
• 6:43
  down. They lost 17 to 1 and their kid
• 6:46
  was the goalie and give up 15 goals.
• 6:48
  And I think, I think it went big because parents have all had
• 6:52
  those situations. Now, of course, the 1% of people
• 6:55
  are saying, oh, how would you, how would you put your daughter
• 6:59
  on blast on social media? I would never do this if my
• 7:02
  daughter was a teenager. She didn't see this post.
• 7:05
  OK, if she was 15 and had XI wouldn't have done this.
• 7:09
  But it was funny because in this game, by the way, my daughter's
• 7:13
  actually a pretty good, pretty good basketball player.
• 7:15
  And she scores baskets in almost every game that we play.

  This was one of those deals where, and this happens with
• 7:21
  with girls that age, they're just right there.
• 7:23
  She's throwing it up and just just keeps missing.
• 7:27
  And I made the Angel Reese, the WNBA player, that analogy,
• 7:31
  because a lot of times my daughter was shooting it.
• 7:34
  So you'll get the defensive rebound, you'll dribble down and
• 7:38
  you'll shoot it. And she kept missing, but
• 7:40
  rebounding her own miss and missing again.
• 7:43
  And people were like, oh, your daughter's a ball hog.
• 7:45
  And. I don't.
• 7:46
  Want my daughter to be a ball hog, especially when I'm a
• 7:48
  coach, but people need to know that a lot of these were her
• 7:51
  getting a rebound, dribbling down, shooting and continuing to
• 7:55
  get her own rebounds. So yeah, it was funny.

  I I never thought it would get 1.1 million views.

  So that was that was pretty cool though.

  I do want to share my experience.

  You know, I have three daughters.

  I'm a girl dad and Brooke, my oldest 1.

  You know, it's like, OK, she's playing soccer and I'm like,

  come on, Brookey, get a little more aggressive.

  You know, I'm wanting to be that person.
• 8:15
  Come on go. And I'm like, no, because those
• 8:20
  are the people that I make fun of.
• 8:21
  I'm like simmer down dad, you're not playing the game well.

  Then then my middle one comes along Brandy and man, she is,
• 8:29
  you know, she's got those soccer legs and, and Brandy, she plays,
• 8:33
  you know, the fast pitch or slow pitch, soft on she's an all
• 8:39
  conference catcher and knocking home runs.
• 8:41
  You know, just Brandy, you know, that's just her, her mindset.
• 8:45
  She's a go getter. And and then then came along our
• 8:50
  our youngest 1, Brittany and Brittany.
• 8:53
  Brittany would be out in the field and she would look at me
• 8:56
  all the time. I'm like, Oh my God, I I got to
• 8:58
  get out of here because she's worried that I'm paying
• 9:01
  attention to her. So I need everybody to respond
• 9:05
  right here to Charlie Marlowe and myself.

  Give us all your parenting stories.

  What is your child like? Are you living through your

  child? What kind of parents are you?

  Respond right here. Are you the parent that lives

  through your child? And you're you're in there and

  you know you're doing this. Are you that type?

  Are you that type? So Charlie, what type of parent

  are you? So I, I am not the, the crazy

  parent like that. I, I do care and I, I want my

  kids to have fun and if they like sports, I think that's
• 9:41
  great. I played baseball and basketball

  in high school. I played a little bit of
• 9:45
  baseball in college. So I, I truly try my best not to
• 9:49
  be that guy. And that there's always the rule
• 9:51
  too. They talk about the ride home
• 9:53
  and I, I've listened to some podcasts and different people
• 9:57
  talk about how to deal with your kid.
• 9:58
  And if they don't do well in sports, they say just don't do
• 10:01
  it on the ride home. Ride home, say, hey, I loved
• 10:03
  watching you play. Then the next day, tell them
• 10:06
  about all the things and the ways that they can improve and
• 10:08
  all that. But that this particular game
• 10:10
  was funny because I'm coaching on the sideline and again, so
• 10:14
  these girls play, they don't play quarters, they play 8 four
• 10:17
  minute periods. And we only had for half the
• 10:21
  game five players. So we couldn't sub anybody out.
• 10:23
  So, and again, I didn't actually add up the shots.
• 10:26
  It was a lot of misses. I put those in 17.
• 10:29
  It was a lot. It might have been 16, it might
• 10:30
  have been 15, it might have been 18.
• 10:32
  I have no idea. But she was missing like one or
• 10:34
  two every period for the whole 8 periods.
• 10:37
  And at the end, I'm looking across the court at my wife once
• 10:41
  these misses start adding up. And it was a lot.
• 10:44
  And she hadn't even made one basket.
• 10:46
  With every miss, I just look over at my wife and we're both
• 10:49
  kind of smiling, but also like, what the hell is going on?
• 10:54
  Like, can can one basket just please go down?
• 10:57
  So like with with every miss, we're looking at each other.

  And again, that's why I put it out there.

  It's just it's a helpless. I put agony.

  It's a helpless feeling. You want your kid to do well,

  and you have no control at this point.

  Yeah, I'm coaching. But like once she shoots it up
• 11:12
  there, I can give her a little tips, but it's either going to
• 11:14
  go in or it's not going to go in.
• 11:15
  And just watching her continue to miss shot after shot, it was
• 11:19
  just killing me and my wife. And with that, everybody,
