  [SPEAKER_00]: It was all on the line in terms of the AFC South Division title for the Jaguars yesterday.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Titans weren't playing for the same thing as the Jaguars, obviously, but the Jaguars, that was their FC Championship game, and they came out.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They won 41-7 over their archenemesis, a team that has really, in the Titans a franchise that has not only given the Jaguars all they can handle on the field many, many, many, many times over the last 30 years, but really kind of,

  [SPEAKER_00]: been that villainous figure for fans of the Jacksonville Jaguars and for this football team, going back all the way to the late 90s.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Great, great win for the Jaguars 41-7, 13 wins on the season.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They score touchdowns on defense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They get big returns on defense, but they score a lot on offense as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this is just a team that knows how to score points.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And they scored over 30 points per game at home in 2025.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Which is just, I mean, hard to fathom, considering the franchise that we all know and love and how inept the Jaguars have been as an offensive team for most of their history, it's just been so fun to watch.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Over the last, you know, since the by week at home, the Jaguars have won 35 to 6 over the Chargers.

  [SPEAKER_00]: 36 to 19 over the Colts, 48 to 20 over the Jets, and then finish it off at home here, 41 to 7 over the Titans.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That is an insane run.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It absolutely is, and not the best competition overall, but, you know, the Colts were a better team when they came in here and you beat the crap out of them.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the Chargers after the Jaguars beat them 35 to 6.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They did not lose a game until week 17.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, they're injured as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But what the Jaguars have done at home this year and in general 13 and 4 is incredible.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They've averaged over 30 points per game since the by week.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Just been so fun to watch this offense and the credit goes to everyone involved.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen for being a great offensive play caller and then the entire staff on offense for being really just good coaches and what does that mean like you have to be able to connect with your players, you have to be able to teach your players exactly what you're looking for, you have to be able to scheme it up week to week.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have to have like a good base for your offense, which is nothing to do with game planning, just like the base of the offense, which is a complicated offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's so much that goes on at the line of scrimmage, Trevor Lawrence was tasked with learning that, he was tasked with learning a new stance in the shotgun, and really kind of rebuilding his overall mechanics, lower body in particular,

  [SPEAKER_00]: to become a quarterback that Liam Cohen said yesterday is playing at an MVP level.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he absolutely is, I mean, 38 touchdowns, 38 total touchdowns, Jaguar's franchise record, 38 total touchdowns for Trevor Lawrence this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So cool to see any of you did get the 4,000 passing yards as well, unbelievable year for Trevor Lawrence, but then that doesn't happen.

  [SPEAKER_00]: even with like Liam Cohen and the coaches being amazing, Liam Cohen being able to dial it up with the best of them, take advantage of what you're seeing from the defense, all that stuff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't happen without James Gladstone, trading for Jacobi Myers without, and obviously it's not just James Gladstone, but he's the one that's making the big decisions there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Trading for Jacobi Myers, deciding, hey, we're gonna feature Britain strange this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's on the coaching, right, and the front office as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: This is going to be our guy, a tight end.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And that was such a great decision that they made there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And despite everybody talking about how well you drafted two running backs, you can trade Travis ET and no, no, I don't think we're going to do that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: James Lads Stone and Liam Cohen said it, and that was a great decision and you know.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar's offensive line wise, they didn't go out and spend like insane capital on anyone, but what they did do is they look at what they had, they decided we need to create more competition, we need to create more depth and they did exactly that and they've coached those guys up extremely well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Getting more out of park or washing time.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think navigating the Brian Thomas Jr. situation as tactfully as they have has been so impressive, you know, struggles early on as he was basically, they were featuring him as the wide receiver one.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That wasn't working out.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And there were some injuries in different things.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And now he's settled into a role where he's a complimentary vertical receiver for you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's going very well, really.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Still not the most efficient, but he had a pretty good game yesterday.

  [SPEAKER_00]: mostly stacking pretty good games overall.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that you've got a good situation there, and again, back to the point, 30 points per game at home this year, the Jaguar score franchise record with the amount of points scored, and they did it in week 17, which means they did it in 16 games instead of adding that 17th everybody wants to put an asterisk on all these 17 game seasons, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: But they did it in 16 games, they were the most prolific scoring offense the Jaguars have

  [SPEAKER_00]: completely different game now than it was back in the nineties, but this is the most prolific scoring team the Jaguars have had.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And speaking of the nineties, this is the best Jaguars team since 1999.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not going to sit here and say that this team would beat the team from 1999.

  [SPEAKER_00]: 1999 team and 2025 team I would take the 1999 team and all likely that I just think that they were a little bit more dominant talent wise

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think it'd be a good game, but I would take the 99 team, but the point is not to say that this team is better than the 99 team, but that this is easily the best team since 1999.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think the 22 team really compares to this team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: This team is more talented, it's better coach.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence has taken another huge step forward.

  [SPEAKER_00]: His receivers are better, the defense is better overall.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Just this team is better than 22 team that won the division.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think this team is better than 2017.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I think if they lined up against each other, that this team would definitely be the 2017 team, and we don't need to make a whole show about this team, better than that team, but I'm just saying, this is the most impressive Jaguar's team I have covered, started in 2015, really.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I've been watching them my whole life This is the best team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I have covered and I do very very much think this is the best team since 1999 So you're talking about 25 years in the making to get a team that you could even think about putting in the same sentence as the 99 team and let's just be clear 99 They went 14 and two

  [SPEAKER_00]: So this team did one thing that that team couldn't do.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, a very different Titans team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But the Jaguars were 14 and 2 that year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They beat every single team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They played outside of the Titans.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They beat the Miami Dolphins in the playoffs, 62 to 7.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They really should have been able to beat the Titans in 99 in the playoffs.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But there's a whole lot of drama and a whole rabbit hole we can go down with that one.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That was an incredible team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: A Super Bowl caliber team certainly and I think that this Jaguars team could be a Super Bowl caliber team as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You'd rather play the bills in Jacksonville than you would in Buffalo.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's no question about that, so that's a good thing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's not going to be easy, but I think that there's the right ingredients in place for this football team to really go on a run here and they're on a run.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They won a straight games and this is the best team since 1999.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think you can say that pretty definitively.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Also, I think definitively I can say right now, this is the most balanced team in the AFC.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think there's really, you could make a reasonable argument about two teams that are

  [SPEAKER_00]: One of them is the Jacksonville jag wars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They're the best run defense and football They have a prolific passing offense just that right there in and of itself makes you a balanced team If you have a great run defense in a great passing offense, that says a lot

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I think beyond that, the running game has shown its ability to be successful into impact games positively, the past defense, same thing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they intercept the ball at a high clip, they get past breakups at a high clip.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They do a lot really well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They're 13 and 4.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They have the second best record in the AFC, I mean, technically third because you have the Broncos and Patriots at 14 and 3 each and then the Jaguar is at 13 and 4.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's just not a lot that they don't do well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then you also look at the special teams part of it, really, really good special teams, Cam Little, getting that 67 yarder.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's now got a 68 yarder, and a 67 yarder.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm ready for a 70 yard kick for Cam Little for sure.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We saw it in the preseason, we'd like to see it in a meaningful game at some point, not in a situation where you don't need it, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: You don't want to just go for a 70 yard kick for no reason.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But in a situation where you need it, that would be wonderful to see certainly.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the other team in the AFC that you can really argue is balanced, well-balanced is the New England Patriots.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Drake May, who is an unbelievably talented young quarterback.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I think they're the team that you could argue is just as balanced as the Jack Wars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they've done it against as many good teams as the Jack Wars have this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's why I have a little bit of pause with them.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But they're gonna have home field unless they have to play against the Denver Broncos, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Broncos finished with the one seed.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's the only game they're gonna have to potentially play on the road.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's a big deal for them, feather in their cap, but to me it's the Jags and Patriots as the most balanced teams in the AFC.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And when you have a star quarterback and you have a balanced team, I think that is a recipe for potentially, you know, getting a Super Bowl Sunday.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguars need to stop taking the first punch, and they haven't done it all season long.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There has been ups and downs when it comes to early, early kind of returns in games.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The last two games though, horrible, horrible first drive where Jeffrey Simmons annihilates Trevor in the backfield, everything goes to crap, and then the defense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They got, they got shredded honestly.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, third and 10 Titans kind of snapped the ball before the defense is really ready and I'm not saying that as a negative thing the Titans did, I think that that was good.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar's defense was still kind of communicating in the line, the Titans snap it and there's confusion and Iomaner gets wide open on the right side and then you have a screen that pops and then Cam Ward is able to get into the end zone with his feet and it's seven zero all of a sudden really quick and obviously that didn't matter

  [SPEAKER_00]: It could matter if that happens against the Buffalo Bills.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It could matter if that happens against, you name other big-time playoff team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the week before that, they had a really rough starting in the cold.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You've seen some rough starts for the Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, you've also seen some great starts.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like, they got off to a good start against the Broncos, and they've done different things.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Well, so it's not like a...

  [SPEAKER_00]: a full season issue but the last two games they've played they have gotten off to slower starts and you would like you would really like to get off to a faster start in the play offs playing at home I think can help in that regard but I think you need to stop taking the first punch because eventually that's going to catch up to you got to play a little bit better to start football games and yes kudos to them for closing games out like after

  [SPEAKER_00]: After the colds got up on them, they outscored them 23-7, and after the Titan's got up on them, they outscored them 41-nothing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So they know how to bounce back, but stop taking the first punching.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's kind of one thing that I would like to see them is just a better early game execution than you've seen the last two weeks.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And part of that could be, you're not playing with the biggest stakes, you're not playing against teams that really you think have a lot to threaten you with.

  [SPEAKER_00]: but guess what, the buffalo bills have plenty to threaten you with.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So you need to stop taking the first punch and it needs to start this weekend.

  [SPEAKER_00]: This is going to be sustained success for this football team, for this organization.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that they have the pieces in place at the top and throughout to really keep this thing rolling.

  [SPEAKER_00]: heading in, and big picture is, you know, if Anthony Campanila does end up getting a head coaching job this off season, that would be a big blow to kind of the defensive infrastructure.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I do think, I don't know if they would promote from within or bring in somebody else.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that it would be an open discussion.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that they would want to really make the best decision possible.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I don't think that they would just say, look, we've got the guys in here, we're gonna just stick with our guys, or we've gotta go outside and find someone else.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think they would really try to work through the process to find a really good defensive coordinator, which could be, you know, I'm a big fan of Tim Lukhabu.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a big fan of a lot of the guys on the defensive side of the ball.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But there's also some good coaches that could be available as defensive coordinator, potential defensive coordinators for the Jaguar.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Not to get too far ahead of yourself, but I think this is going to be sustained success because Liam Cohen and Trevor Lawrence have a great working relationship, I think Trevor Lawrence is just really starting to ascend into what he can be in this offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think building around him on this offense, which is Kobe with Britain.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Some of these other guys are going to continue to improve as they get more time on task with each other and within this offense, so I think this is going to be sustained success.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it looked like they had it going into 2023, but then they completely fell apart and the organization crumbled.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You got Blake Bordel, as you got this running game, winner for net, you're a tough physical football team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Well, the defense and the offense both fell apart fairly quickly.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Um, didn't make the playoffs again after 2017 didn't make the playoffs again after 2022.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, Jack Del Rio had some sustained success.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think you could argue that, but that was almost 20 years ago, where where the Jaguars were really home in under Jack Del Rio, you know, mid 2000s to 2007.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There was some some sustained success there, but not even at the level, not at a huge level, but at like a, yeah, we're a competitive playoff team type of level.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Not, I mean, nobody believed the Jaguars were gonna be like Super Bowl champions those years.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think this is gonna be sustained like high level success.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They've got a lot of work to do, moving forward into the playoffs.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then obviously after whatever happens in the playoffs, but I believe in this build, I really believe in it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I've told y'all that whole time I didn't believe in that build because I didn't believe in Trent Balky over all and it ended up becoming a snowball and like didn't end up believing anything by the end of it, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I didn't think that Jack Wars would have high level sustained success with that group in place because of the issues that you saw within the building with Trent Balky, his

  [SPEAKER_00]: entire process and communication and his ability to have high quality working relationships just did not exist.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I strongly believe in this group.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If the Jaguars, if they beat the bills, which is not a given by any stretch, going to be a highly competitive football game in my opinion, they will either go to New England,

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I think everybody on the Jack Wars side is going to be rooting for the chargers to beat the Patriots in New England.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But realistically, I think it's going to be if the Jack Wars can beat the bills, they'll probably go to New England.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And that could be a tough place to play and how doubt about it.
