- 1:23Speaker 1: listening for quite some time. This podcast has been around
- 1:26Speaker 1: for nine years. Nine years. Okay, I've been doing podcasting
- 1:32Speaker 1: longer than that. I'm from the blog era. Also, I'm
- 1:35Speaker 1: from the radio, college, radio hip hop. I'm from all
- 1:38Speaker 1: of it. Okay, certify, okay, ogi, don't call me a
- 1:43Speaker 1: he ain't my family or maybe we use family, I
- 1:46Speaker 1: don't know whatever. But shout out to y'all who have
- 1:50Speaker 1: been subscribed. And the best thing you can do, and
- 1:56Speaker 1: I say it all the time, is share with people
- 1:59Speaker 1: you know who enjoyed this kind of content weekly hip
- 2:02Speaker 1: hop news and perspectives right here on hip Hop Now podcast.
- 2:06Speaker 1: And in twenty twenty five, or if we really count,
- 2:10Speaker 1: late twenty twenty four, we are doing interviews. We're not
- 2:15Speaker 1: doing a lot of interviews. We're not doing everybody. Interview
- 2:18Speaker 1: isn't the focus of this podcast channel. But but in
- 2:24Speaker 1: twenty twenty five, I decided to do certain interviews, right
- 2:29Speaker 1: just like I'm deciding to do certain partnerships with this podcast.
- 2:34Speaker 1: So not only to content, keep your eye on other things.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Speaking of interviews, the last interview I did was with
- 2:42Speaker 1: I Am God Chicago MC. Who's on the Rise? I
- 2:47Speaker 1: guess Pauls for y'all past gouds, but Who's on the rise?
- 2:51Speaker 1: And lyrically no gap y'all. No gap lyrically. If you
- 2:58Speaker 1: care about bars, you need to press play the interviews
- 3:02Speaker 1: right here on the channel. You can click the link.
- 3:04Speaker 1: You can check it out. It's not no three hour joint,
- 3:08Speaker 1: you know. Asking a ton of questions is really getting
- 3:11Speaker 1: to the specifics of his influences, who he is, who
- 3:17Speaker 1: he wants to be as an MC, and really the
- 3:20Speaker 1: method to his madness when it comes to how he
- 3:24Speaker 1: does what he does. So check that out on the channel.
- 3:27Speaker 1: I Am God Interview. Big shout out to Hip Hop
- 3:31Speaker 1: DX dot com, Double XL mag in a couple of
- 3:35Speaker 1: places where I get my stories from. Let's get Ready
- 3:37Speaker 1: to business, doc say so. Apparently there is an unreleased,
- 3:45Speaker 1: well previously unreleased track listing for Biggie's second album, Life
- 3:51Speaker 1: After Death, an album that I believe is Diamond now
- 3:58Speaker 1: or Ben Diamond for the who don't know that, Diamond
- 4:03Speaker 1: is ten million records. So that's how you hit diamond.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Everybody's not that. You know. Few of your favorite rappers
- 4:13Speaker 1: who you would think and singers who you would think
- 4:16Speaker 1: have sold plenty of records you would think they would
- 4:19Speaker 1: be diamond, but they're not. It's an exclusive list. Look
- 4:23Speaker 1: it up. But if you don't know me, I am
- 4:30Speaker 1: a Biggie smallest fan, not just because I'm from Brooklyn, right,
- 4:34Speaker 1: And do not pretend like everybody from Brooklyn was a
- 4:37Speaker 1: Biggie fan, because that would be true. But obviously there
- 4:42Speaker 1: are a lot of people will were for me. He's
- 4:44Speaker 1: my favorite rapper all the time. I just connected with
- 4:47Speaker 1: his music and his style and his thought process more
- 4:51Speaker 1: than most of my favorites throughout the years. And Life
- 4:56Speaker 1: After Death was an album that it was a bittersweet
- 4:59Speaker 1: in ninety seven, album dropped because it dropped a couple
- 5:02Speaker 1: of weeks after Biggie was murdered, and I remember going
- 5:07Speaker 1: to the record store. I was in Bmore that day.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Me and the homies went to the record store now Sidebar.
- 5:16Speaker 1: We already had the album like kind of on bootleg
- 5:20Speaker 1: and some kind of piece together pieces obviously not in
- 5:24Speaker 1: the best quality, but we had been rocking most of
- 5:27Speaker 1: it for a while, so this was the opportunity to
- 5:29Speaker 1: get the official with a ton of songs we haven't heard.
- 5:33Speaker 1: And I remember being in the record store and it
- 5:37Speaker 1: was like silence. It was a line too, It was
- 5:41Speaker 1: like before the record store opened. It was a line
- 5:44Speaker 1: and it was like silence on the line, and everybody
- 5:46Speaker 1: was looking at each other kind of new right, Like
- 5:50Speaker 1: if this was I don't even know if there would
- 5:53Speaker 1: have been a line out of the door, like obviously
- 5:55Speaker 1: it would have sold it. Bigie was still alive, But
- 5:58Speaker 1: I don't know about you know, line out the door
- 6:00Speaker 1: before the rec store opens. Probably, But there was just
- 6:05Speaker 1: a vibe in the air air because we knew what happened,
- 6:09Speaker 1: and we knew why we were there. So it's interesting
- 6:14Speaker 1: to learn some more stuff about it. So this is
- 6:16Speaker 1: coming from Hip hopdx dot com and it says Biggie's
- 6:19Speaker 1: original Life After Death track list leaks with unheard songs
- 6:25Speaker 1: and surprise guests. Wait a minute, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,
- 6:31Speaker 1: they have the audio, because if they have the audio,
- 6:35Speaker 1: y'all gonna hold it. Y'all have to hold on. I'm
- 6:37Speaker 1: gonna get it. But the article also says Biggie's original
- 6:42Speaker 1: track list for Life After Death Death has surfaced, revealing
- 6:46Speaker 1: several unreleased songs and a few surprise collaborations. The track list,
- 6:50Speaker 1: which was unearthed by the Instagram account ninety two Bricks,
- 6:55Speaker 1: stems from a January nineteen ninety seven listening party Okay
- 6:59Speaker 1: for the now iconic album, which was originally titled Life
- 7:03Speaker 1: After Death Till Death Do Us Part. I remember that
- 7:07Speaker 1: at the event there were twenty eight tracks played, four
- 7:11Speaker 1: more than the twenty four that appeared on the final version,
- 7:15Speaker 1: although one song appears twice on original track list, which
- 7:19Speaker 1: may have been a printing era, suggesting the album was
- 7:22Speaker 1: originally twenty seven songs. The original original track list feature
- 7:27Speaker 1: is not only a completely reworked order, but five songs
- 7:31Speaker 1: that have yet to be heard by the public. That's
- 7:35Speaker 1: interesting because as much as they've repurposed Biggie songs to
- 7:41Speaker 1: kind of create new ones, as usually songs you know
- 7:45Speaker 1: that are being repurposed for now, which they all suck
- 7:47Speaker 1: if you ask me, or they're taken something from early
- 7:52Speaker 1: Biggie like pre Ready to Die demo tape, you know,
- 7:57Speaker 1: maybe even Preparing for Ready to Die, which is hit
- 8:01Speaker 1: or missed sometimes when you hear those lyrics, but Biggie
- 8:05Speaker 1: from ninety seven, maybe ninety six unheard. It's crazy. There
- 8:11Speaker 1: must be some race issues, because I don't know why Diddy,
- 8:15Speaker 1: I gotta say his name. I don't know why he
- 8:17Speaker 1: didn't put those out in some form or like on
- 8:20Speaker 1: the anniversary edition, which is crazy. Who knows. Let's see
- 8:25Speaker 1: the original track list feature is not only a completely
- 8:28Speaker 1: reworked order, but five songs that have yet to be
- 8:32Speaker 1: heard by the public. These include Once Upon a Time
- 8:36Speaker 1: featured Fat Joe, I think I remember that, Staying Alive.
- 8:40Speaker 1: I think that was all the mixtig Staying Alive, and
- 8:43Speaker 1: untitled tracks produced by Rizza Easy Mob in DJ Clark Kent.
- 8:50Speaker 1: This is crazy town. I am going to book Hold up, y'all.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Hold up. I'm going to bookmark this for myself because
- 9:02Speaker 1: I need to go back and do some research. But
- 9:07Speaker 1: thinking about that and shout out, shout out to them,
- 9:10Speaker 1: what's the Instagram again? Ninety two bricks? Shout out to
- 9:13Speaker 1: ninety two bricks. You might want to go follow them
- 9:17Speaker 1: if they're breaking stuff like this. We need these. We
- 9:23Speaker 1: need all samples to be clear, we need all the rights,
- 9:27Speaker 1: We need the producers to give the okay, we need
- 9:30Speaker 1: all of that, and we need a new and who
- 9:33Speaker 1: knows maybe what's in the works, but we need like
- 9:35Speaker 1: a new deluxe version of Life After Death with all
- 9:40Speaker 1: the sound quality being great. Need it? Okay? You may
- 9:45Speaker 1: not need it. You may be like hi, Baby's Cool whatever,
- 9:49Speaker 1: or get out of here. I don't care what you fear, okay,
- 9:51Speaker 1: But for those of us who love the notories b
- 9:55Speaker 1: I G aka Be Small aka Big Popper aka Frink White,
- 10:01Speaker 1: we need that, okay. So we'll see if we get it.
- 10:04Speaker 1: But I'm gonna go digging. I don't know about y'all. Recently,
- 10:12Speaker 1: Kendrick Lamar's sophomore album, to Pimp a Butterfly celebrated ten
- 10:19Speaker 1: years now. It sounds crazy, but it's not that crazy,
- 10:25Speaker 1: because town just passes and we forget, and you know,
- 10:30Speaker 1: we move on to other things, and all of a sudden,
- 10:33Speaker 1: now something is five years old, but ten years old,
- 10:35Speaker 1: thirty years old, and just for me personally as a
- 10:40Speaker 1: Kendrick Lamar fan reflecting on his catalog, you know, the
- 10:46Speaker 1: stuff that's happened today, but specifically that album, coming off
- 10:49Speaker 1: of what I would definitely call a classic in Good
- 10:53Speaker 1: Kid Mad City, to Pip a Butterfly could have went
- 10:58Speaker 1: in any other direction, Like it's a very different album
- 11:03Speaker 1: from Good Kid Man City in concepts and be told,
- 11:09Speaker 1: my chihit just lowering by to Cameraman Cool in concepts
- 11:15Speaker 1: and beats and flows, inspirations collaborators. Right to Piper Butterfly,
- 11:23Speaker 1: I had a lot of jazz cats and people like
- 11:27Speaker 1: Blao and Andre three thousand collaborate to try to make
- 11:32Speaker 1: something special. And when I reviewed this album back in
- 11:38Speaker 1: I guess that was twenty fifteen, I liked it, but
- 11:43Speaker 1: it took me some time because now you know, twenty
- 11:48Speaker 1: twenty twenty vision basically, what is it? Hindsight is twenty
- 11:51Speaker 1: twenty messing it up, twenty twenty seven vision on television whatever.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Looking back at it, you know, Kendrick has this when
- 12:00Speaker 1: you look at his albums, he has this pattern that happens.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Right when you look at Good kid Man City, It's
- 12:07Speaker 1: kind of like you get the jams, you get the
- 12:10Speaker 1: street talk, you get all of that, right. And then
- 12:13Speaker 1: to Pimple, Butterfly was like a concept album, right. It
- 12:16Speaker 1: was like a dedication to black men and kids boys,
- 12:23Speaker 1: as you say, black people in general, Tupac it was
- 12:29Speaker 1: really about. It was really themed in a way that
- 12:33Speaker 1: spoke to black men with most of its songs and
- 12:38Speaker 1: most of its themes. And then after that you got Damned,
- 12:42Speaker 1: which was kind of like Good kid Man City, where
- 12:45Speaker 1: you get you know, you get the jams, you still
- 12:48Speaker 1: get the storytelling, but you kind of get the traditional
- 12:50Speaker 1: hip hop album right and then and we're not counting untitled,
- 12:56Speaker 1: I know it was in there. But then you get
- 12:59Speaker 1: mister Moron the Steppers, another concept album right where it's
- 13:04Speaker 1: really focused on this theme and though you may find
- 13:08Speaker 1: a jammer too in there, it's really about the concept.
- 13:12Speaker 1: And then you come to twenty twenty four with G
- 13:15Speaker 1: and X. Hopefully I'm not leaving anything out. I think
- 13:18Speaker 1: that's all the albums. But with G and X, now
- 13:20Speaker 1: you're back to the Jams. The theme may be West Coast,
- 13:24Speaker 1: but there's a lot more bops on the project. So
- 13:28Speaker 1: we would assume Kendrick's next album is going to be
- 13:31Speaker 1: another concept album if it keeps that up. But to
- 13:34Speaker 1: pip up Butterfly was the first time he did it
- 13:38Speaker 1: and coming off an album that most people consider his
- 13:42Speaker 1: best album in his catalog, So it was a chance.
- 13:46Speaker 1: You know, you could you could have hit that sophomore slum,
- 13:50Speaker 1: you know, if people weren't feeling it. But I think
- 13:53Speaker 1: the timing of this type of album was perfect because
- 13:57Speaker 1: you know, there was the whole Black Lives Matter movement
- 14:00Speaker 1: where his song, his single alright, kind of became a
- 14:03Speaker 1: theme for that and you know, like when he performs,
- 14:07Speaker 1: people can get upset, like at the super Bowl that
- 14:09Speaker 1: he didn't perform that one, So it had probably his
- 14:15Speaker 1: most memorable hit because people are holding onto that alright
- 14:19Speaker 1: song more than the jams he got on the Kid
- 14:23Speaker 1: Mad City. But at the time, again when I did
- 14:26Speaker 1: the review, what I liked most about it was the
- 14:30Speaker 1: fact that it also was the other underlying theme in
- 14:35Speaker 1: this album was the inspirations from black music. Right. There
- 14:41Speaker 1: was jazz elements that were funk elements. Kendrick even like
- 14:47Speaker 1: for example, for those who don't know, if you listen
- 14:49Speaker 1: to gn X, you listen to Reincarnated, right, it's basically
- 14:56Speaker 1: a Tupac beat and he's rapping blight Tupac, same flower
- 15:00Speaker 1: was Tupac, same inflections in his voice that Tupac would do. Right.
- 15:06Speaker 1: So when you go back to the Pimple Butterfly, I
- 15:09Speaker 1: forget the record, but Kendrick has a song where he's
- 15:13Speaker 1: basically rapping like James Brown would talk on records, right,
- 15:19Speaker 1: and it's really like a funk filled kind of jam
- 15:23Speaker 1: type thing. So to Pimple Butterfly, if you ask me,
- 15:29Speaker 1: is a classic because nobody at that time was doing
- 15:34Speaker 1: something like that, taking those kinds of chances. And I'm
- 15:38Speaker 1: talking about musically, you know, doing that in a way
- 15:42Speaker 1: that honors Black music and not only hip hop. Sure,
- 15:46Speaker 1: like if you want your hardcore you know, Kate Dot boomback,
- 15:52Speaker 1: you know, The Black of the Berry was that for sure,
- 15:56Speaker 1: But there were other records, right, So it was just
- 15:58Speaker 1: an album that had so much going on with it
- 16:03Speaker 1: musically that. Yeah, some people didn't like it when it
- 16:06Speaker 1: came out because good kid Man, they want a good
- 16:09Speaker 1: kid Man City Part two. They wanted that vibe and
- 16:11Speaker 1: that's why those fans probably like damn. But people like
- 16:16Speaker 1: me who like it, who like it all. I don't
- 16:19Speaker 1: mind a concept album as long as the concept is
- 16:22Speaker 1: something I can sink my teeth into, as far as
- 16:26Speaker 1: you know, listening to it, enjoying it, you know, because
- 16:28Speaker 1: there is entertainment, but also walking away with some I
- 16:34Speaker 1: don't know, some gems that I could reflect on myself.
- 16:38Speaker 1: And I don't mean necessarily like y'all do with jay
- 16:41Speaker 1: Z where where you know, Kendrick's like, hey, man, clean
- 16:45Speaker 1: up your house, and I'm like, he told me I
- 16:50Speaker 1: should clean up my house, man, yo, he's something nests, No,
- 16:55Speaker 1: clean up your house yourself. I'm talking about gems of
- 16:59Speaker 1: things you can relate to. That's what endures us to
- 17:04Speaker 1: artists that we like, right is we can relate to
- 17:07Speaker 1: them in one way or another. You know, you could
- 17:10Speaker 1: be poor and relate to somebody who's talking about money
- 17:13Speaker 1: all the time, because typically in hip hop, they're not
- 17:16Speaker 1: just talking about having it, but they always talk about
- 17:19Speaker 1: where they were and how they got it. And that's
- 17:23Speaker 1: what you can attach yourself to if you don't have money, right,
- 17:26Speaker 1: the journey to get the role to the richest, so
- 17:30Speaker 1: to speak. So I think it's a great album. I
- 17:34Speaker 1: think it's a great album to go back to in hindsight,
- 17:37Speaker 1: especially those who feel like who may like Kendrick Lamar,
- 17:41Speaker 1: are now more than they did before, or they just
- 17:45Speaker 1: start getting into this music going back and listening to
- 17:50Speaker 1: Piper Butterfly and understanding why it was that right, because
- 17:54Speaker 1: a lot of people and I'm not throwing any shade
- 17:57Speaker 1: because I do it with certain artists. Also, I have
- 17:59Speaker 1: a lot of meat music. When I just want to
- 18:01Speaker 1: hear something like this new Westside Gun album. I just
- 18:05Speaker 1: love the whole vibe of it, right, I love the bars,
- 18:08Speaker 1: I love the beats, I love everything's being said, except
- 18:11Speaker 1: for when that one part where he'd be kind of
- 18:16Speaker 1: I don't really like that. But for the most part,
- 18:19Speaker 1: I just like it, so it doesn't have to be,
- 18:22Speaker 1: you know, intellectually engaging and all that stuff and oh
- 18:26Speaker 1: I need to walk away with Jim's No, I just
- 18:29Speaker 1: like it because it's dope. But when I do want
- 18:33Speaker 1: something that feels good like that, then I'll go listen
- 18:36Speaker 1: to Pimp a Butterfly. If I haven't listened to miss
- 18:39Speaker 1: Them around the Big Steppers in a while, maybe I
- 18:43Speaker 1: you know, I give myself to listen to that, Or
- 18:46Speaker 1: if I just feel like listening, I want to listen
- 18:48Speaker 1: to the kid cutting kids see Ghosts, I'll go listen
- 18:52Speaker 1: to that. So I just want to say that there's
- 18:55Speaker 1: a difference between a music fan and a fan of
- 19:00Speaker 1: hip hop. Right A fan of hip hop could like
- 19:05Speaker 1: all of hip hop, or they might just like boom Back,
- 19:08Speaker 1: or they might just like music they could ride to.
- 19:12Speaker 1: All of that's cool. But what Kendrick did with the
- 19:15Speaker 1: Pimple Butterfly again, with that theme of black music and
- 19:22Speaker 1: black people and black men and boys and celebrating and
- 19:28Speaker 1: talking about it to a depth that we can relate
- 19:32Speaker 1: to on a number of levels. I think it's worth
- 19:36Speaker 1: another listen ten years from now. It was great music,
- 19:40Speaker 1: and I was surprised when he got the Pultzer for Damn.
- 19:45Speaker 1: I thought they deserved it for to Pimple Butterfly because
- 19:49Speaker 1: Damn is a great album, but it's mostly what we
- 19:52Speaker 1: would expect. It's just straight up a hip hop album.
- 19:55Speaker 1: To Pimple Butterfly was art sonically musically. So what do
- 20:04Speaker 1: you think about to Pimp a Butterfly ten years later?
- 20:08Speaker 1: Did you like it when it came out? Did it
- 20:10Speaker 1: grow on you? Do you not care? Do them alien
- 20:12Speaker 1: noises that Kendrick be making make you say nah man
- 20:15Speaker 1: camstas man making alien noises? Leave your comments in a
- 20:20Speaker 1: comment section below. And lastly, so I know you've seen it.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I've tweeted and posted about it and all that good stuff. Yes,
- 20:33Speaker 1: I'm on Twitter, but it's complicated. I'm on Bosky and
- 20:39Speaker 1: everything else. I'm everywhere at Vegas World. I ain't c
- 20:43Speaker 1: but and he's not the only one, maybe the only
- 20:47Speaker 1: one that's been extreme right for Kanye West crashing out
- 20:56Speaker 1: with an album on the way, It's nothing new. There's
- 21:01Speaker 1: nothing new now. You may have preferred the crashouts of
- 21:06Speaker 1: the past, right, you may have found the funny, you
- 21:09Speaker 1: may have agreed with him, but some of these more
- 21:13Speaker 1: recent crashouts, you know, slavery was a choice and Swashika
- 21:18Speaker 1: chains and stuff. It's just stupid at this point. And
- 21:24Speaker 1: the only reason why I don't just look at Kanye
- 21:27Speaker 1: West as being like, oh, he's racist or blah blah blah,
- 21:32Speaker 1: is because he's been doing this since day one. He
- 21:38Speaker 1: always feels like he and most people's like as far
- 21:42Speaker 1: as athletes and competitive rappers, like to stay in the
- 21:47Speaker 1: underdog position even if they're not in the underdog position
- 21:51Speaker 1: because the music, the momentum, their drive isn't great if
- 21:56Speaker 1: they ain't got to fight their way out of it
- 21:58Speaker 1: to be at the top, even when they're already at
- 22:01Speaker 1: the time, even when they're already rich or popular or whatever.
- 22:05Speaker 1: That's kind of what fuls them, what fuels their music.
- 22:09Speaker 1: And with him in particular, he's always done this, right
- 22:15Speaker 1: from award shows, being on stage doing stuff. Now, I
- 22:18Speaker 1: even question him saying George Bush don't care about black
- 22:22Speaker 1: people on the nine to eleven thing, right, because he
- 22:25Speaker 1: was right and I was glad he said it, But
- 22:30Speaker 1: did he say it because he needs to take every
- 22:33Speaker 1: opportunity to put the attention on him. I don't know.
- 22:39Speaker 1: It's just that what he does now after decades of
- 22:43Speaker 1: doing it, as far as saying things for attention, makes
- 22:48Speaker 1: me question the things that I like. That he said
- 22:52Speaker 1: that word for attention to some people. Well, now he's
- 22:57Speaker 1: just ridiculous. Now he's looking for what can I say
- 23:03Speaker 1: to get everybody to look at me? And I'm gonna
- 23:07Speaker 1: keep going until they are all looking at me. And
- 23:12Speaker 1: now it's getting to the point where it's so sad
- 23:14Speaker 1: that he does that. That's not it's not gonna work
- 23:18Speaker 1: the way it used to, right, he used to benefit
- 23:22Speaker 1: him before. You know, all the fashion industry don't want
- 23:26Speaker 1: to let me in. I make my own slave homeless
- 23:29Speaker 1: people clothes that look like skin or whatever that But
- 23:33Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't buy that stuff. But you
- 23:36Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like he just kind of does
- 23:39Speaker 1: this all the time. The first time, you know, he
- 23:42Speaker 1: did it in a way that was kind of like, oh,
- 23:44Speaker 1: I kind of like that was like when fifty was released.
- 23:47Speaker 1: At fifty, Semple was releasing his album Curtis and I
- 23:51Speaker 1: think Graduation was being released by Kanye West, and it
- 23:57Speaker 1: was like who will win the battle? Blah blah blah,
- 24:00Speaker 1: And at first they tried to play it up like
- 24:01Speaker 1: it was beef. Then you know it's more about marketing.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Obviously Kanye one, because Graduation is my favorite album in
- 24:09Speaker 1: his catalog. But he's just kind of been doing this
- 24:14Speaker 1: and now he's at a point where, excuse me, he
- 24:18Speaker 1: has this album that he leaked. I don't know how
- 24:21Speaker 1: that goes. When you say you lead your album, you
- 24:25Speaker 1: released it when we call releases leads. I think it's
- 24:31Speaker 1: called Bully Volume one, and some people heard it. I
- 24:34Speaker 1: haven't because I think I'm tapped out at this point.
- 24:38Speaker 1: But he releases, He releases that joint on the heels
- 24:41Speaker 1: of the Swashika chain and wearing a Swashika shirt, trying
- 24:45Speaker 1: to just row people up in public online, and then
- 24:49Speaker 1: it goes on these ranks, and then he went on
- 24:51Speaker 1: a rank a particular tweet that he deleted when he
- 24:55Speaker 1: talked about jay Z and Beyonce's twins and he used
- 24:59Speaker 1: a word that's not even politically correct anymore, about them
- 25:05Speaker 1: being mentally challenged. As you said, I don't even know
- 25:10Speaker 1: if that's it now, but about them. But then he
- 25:13Speaker 1: deletes it. But that that was the thing that got
- 25:18Speaker 1: most people really around him, right because you were already
- 25:23Speaker 1: doing dumb stuff, right your wife, nikkid, And every time
- 25:26Speaker 1: we see it, we got questions about that. We're kind
- 25:29Speaker 1: of worried about the kids being around you at this point.
- 25:33Speaker 1: And then you turn around and do that, but then
- 25:35Speaker 1: you delete it real quick. Come on, you need to
- 25:41Speaker 1: go get some serious help. We know he admitted to
- 25:44Speaker 1: suffering from being bipolar and whatever else, and we know
- 25:50Speaker 1: it feels like the change happened once his mother died,
- 25:53Speaker 1: because if you watch that documentary on Netflix, especially the
- 25:59Speaker 1: first part where you get to see him with his
- 26:02Speaker 1: mother for the first time in their relationship. Some people,
- 26:07Speaker 1: obviously everybody loved them. Well, I won't say everybody. Some
- 26:10Speaker 1: people don't, but most people should love their mama and
- 26:16Speaker 1: have a relationship as a child, you know, and as
- 26:20Speaker 1: an adult with their mama on a certain level. Right,
- 26:23Speaker 1: it's my mother, boom. But Kanye has one of those
- 26:27Speaker 1: relationships where they were almost like friends also, and she
- 26:32Speaker 1: was like his his ground. She would she grounded him basically, right,
- 26:37Speaker 1: like she kept him grounding, as she said, when he
- 26:40Speaker 1: was around her, it was a different vibe. It was
- 26:42Speaker 1: a different Kanye, right. He kind of she was his calm,
- 26:48Speaker 1: so to speak. So we know that the whole situation
- 26:52Speaker 1: probably played into where he is today. And honestly, and
- 26:58Speaker 1: I'm really not trying to to wish this on anything,
- 27:02Speaker 1: but he could become he could arm himself at some point,
- 27:07Speaker 1: because I don't know why you would want to drive
- 27:09Speaker 1: the height up so high with the things you're saying
- 27:15Speaker 1: just for people to listen to your album. There's a
- 27:18Speaker 1: lot more going on there and he's the only one
- 27:22Speaker 1: crashing out to this level for engagement. But like I said,
- 27:27Speaker 1: Jim Jones to me, he been doing that every five seconds.
- 27:31Speaker 1: He want to say every five seconds, we put ten
- 27:34Speaker 1: million up so we could box your face, box your mouth.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Shut up, man, No nobody wants to see that. And
- 27:42Speaker 1: the more you make these let's do this together, even
- 27:47Speaker 1: if it's back and forth, and the dudes that ignore you,
- 27:51Speaker 1: it just makes you look desperate. You're looking to battle everybody.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Nobody responds. You look in the battle, push your teeth
- 28:00Speaker 1: and you make a response in front of clothes, bodega's
- 28:03Speaker 1: and garbage cans. Probably in the place you don't live,
- 28:07Speaker 1: right because you got money? Why would you? Why would you? Whatever?
- 28:12Speaker 1: It just looks desperate and these ain't. These aren't the
- 28:16Speaker 1: only two rappers doing things like this right like again,
- 28:21Speaker 1: like Jim Jones album. I like it, but I think
- 28:23Speaker 1: a lot of people won't hear it because they don't
- 28:25Speaker 1: like the way he's been getting that right. He seems fake.
- 28:29Speaker 1: He's coming up on the wrong side of his spat
- 28:32Speaker 1: with Camra. But it's not just them. It's not just Kanye,
- 28:36Speaker 1: it's not just Jim Jones. It's other things other rappers
- 28:40Speaker 1: do and maybe not crashing out, but do things that
- 28:45Speaker 1: take away what take away some of the admiration we
- 28:48Speaker 1: may feel about them musically, Like ghost Face, right, ghost Face,
- 28:55Speaker 1: he's just in the big cooin and it feels like
- 28:59Speaker 1: somebody is running his account and he's cool with it.
- 29:03Speaker 1: And I guess when people start complaining, that's when they
- 29:06Speaker 1: pop out. I'm working on music. That's why people follow
- 29:09Speaker 1: you though they don't care about Bigcoin and all of that.
- 29:12Speaker 1: You know, make a separate page for that and talk
- 29:15Speaker 1: all it goes face Bigcoin, I mean, straight up and
- 29:18Speaker 1: dang like, make that over there, and then the people
- 29:21Speaker 1: who are into bitcoin, especially into it because it goes
- 29:26Speaker 1: let them go over there. But it's been happening because
- 29:31Speaker 1: a lot of these rappers in a lot of ways,
- 29:34Speaker 1: when you show this level of desperation, there's something you need.
- 29:38Speaker 1: With Kanye, he says all of this, and people bob
- 29:42Speaker 1: his music. So I don't know if it matters that much.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Same thing with the clothes with him, but I think
- 29:49Speaker 1: for him the engagement matters personally, whereas somebody like Jim Jones,
- 29:56Speaker 1: you know, I think he's just trying to sustain something, right.
- 29:59Speaker 1: He business slowed a little bit, and the more he engaged,
- 30:04Speaker 1: the more people go to be like, let me check
- 30:06Speaker 1: out his music, and the streams go up even though
- 30:09Speaker 1: they don't pay a lot, Maybe the bookings increase and
- 30:13Speaker 1: stuff like that. And honestly, again, I think his new
- 30:16Speaker 1: album is good, like really good to me, hold up
- 30:20Speaker 1: my chair going down again. They're gonna they're gonna have
- 30:22Speaker 1: to fix this log. But all in all, it's a
- 30:26Speaker 1: trend in hip hop that I don't like personally. I
- 30:31Speaker 1: don't I don't like when Tyler Quality argues with people
- 30:35Speaker 1: every day all day. I don't need to see that
- 30:38Speaker 1: on my timeline. Dog. I just want to know what
- 30:40Speaker 1: you're working on. I just want you to talk hip hop.
- 30:44Speaker 1: I can't say that he should have to or anybody
- 30:47Speaker 1: like him should have to, but again, it sort of
- 30:50Speaker 1: taints what you liked about them. That connection I talked
- 30:55Speaker 1: about early early on, with being able to relate to
- 30:59Speaker 1: somebody once they once you realize they're more into the Shenanigans,
- 31:06Speaker 1: whatever they may be, you can't really right. And if
- 31:09Speaker 1: you can't rock with that, then they're not relatable to
- 31:13Speaker 1: you no more. Then you're less likely to check out
- 31:16Speaker 1: their new album in some cases, depending on who you
- 31:20Speaker 1: are and who they are. So I don't know what
- 31:23Speaker 1: do you think about this topic, Rappers crashing out for engagement?
- 31:29Speaker 1: Do you not care? Do you like some of it?
- 31:32Speaker 1: Do you feel like it impacts the music in a
- 31:35Speaker 1: positive or negative way? Leave your comments in a comments
