- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you all the ways.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Hello, and welcome back to another episode of Star Wars Alliance.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Of course, I'm your host, Clay and with me like
- 0:26Speaker 2: every single week, although we do have some except last week,
- 0:32Speaker 2: and we do have next week, and next week is
- 0:35Speaker 2: gonna take We're taking another break. But Katie, Katie is here. Katie,
- 0:40Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 0:41Speaker 3: I'm I'm stressed because guys, the reason we're taking breaks
- 0:45Speaker 3: is I'm in the middle of packing up my house
- 0:47Speaker 3: because we're supposed to be closing next week, so we're
- 0:51Speaker 3: taking a break. Next week, we are recording our two reviews,
- 0:55Speaker 3: so you're hearing both reviews live today, but then into podcast.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Seeds will go Jedi Knights this week and then Han
- 1:04Speaker 3: Solo Hunt for the Falcon next week. So there's still
- 1:07Speaker 3: an East of Get Us next week.
- 1:10Speaker 2: We're just not doing a live show. And because you
- 1:14Speaker 2: have shared the news, I will go ahead and share
- 1:16Speaker 2: mine as well. At the end of this month, I
- 1:19Speaker 2: will be heading back to Texas. We hope for it
- 1:24Speaker 2: to be only temporary, and when I say temporary, I
- 1:27Speaker 2: think the maximum we want to stay is probably two years.
- 1:31Speaker 2: But we're not happy about going back to Texas. But
- 1:35Speaker 2: we understand that it's something that we need to do. Also,
- 1:37Speaker 2: my family kind of needs some help with some stuff,
- 1:39Speaker 2: so we are going down there. It's gonna be.
- 1:46Speaker 3: And it's hard to hide my news when typically these
- 1:50Speaker 3: bookshelves are following they're completely empty. Yeah.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Yeah, well, and the thing is the the quality of
- 1:57Speaker 2: the podcast might change a little bit due to the
- 2:01Speaker 2: fact that Katie's going to be moving. First, she'll be
- 2:04Speaker 2: recording off of her iPad. Again, I should know.
- 2:08Speaker 3: I'm planning on taking all this stuff.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Soay even better and for me to better secure my computer.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I kind of want to take it with me in
- 2:20Speaker 2: the car, but we don't know if it's actually going
- 2:23Speaker 2: to fit. So we may have to just make sure
- 2:28Speaker 2: that all of my equipment for recording is in the car,
- 2:32Speaker 2: but my computer stays in the shipment case that we're doing,
- 2:37Speaker 2: and I may have to record from the laptop like
- 2:40Speaker 2: the old days when I was kind of moving around
- 2:43Speaker 2: from house to house. So we'll see how it goes.
- 2:46Speaker 2: We'll see. But guys, we have actually, surprisingly we have
- 2:52Speaker 2: a lot of like news topics. We haven't had a
- 2:54Speaker 2: lot of news topics and quite some time. So first off,
- 3:00Speaker 2: one thing that I wanted to bring up to Katie
- 3:03Speaker 2: because I know that she is not one hundred percent
- 3:06Speaker 2: uh you know, in the know with a lot of
- 3:10Speaker 2: pop culture stuff nowadays because she has stepped away from
- 3:13Speaker 2: the Internet, which is healthy. I support it, But I
- 3:20Speaker 2: don't know if you've heard anything about this, uh two
- 3:24Speaker 2: hundred thousand dollars Lego collection that was stolen by a
- 3:33Speaker 2: Lego affiliate company. What so the affiliate company is called
- 3:41Speaker 2: Bricks and Minifigs. It is affiliated Lego. Okay.
- 3:47Speaker 3: I saw something about this on threads and it was
- 3:49Speaker 3: just bricks and Minifigs is like the topic, and I
- 3:52Speaker 3: was like, so I still know nothing.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Okay, but I swing the name Bricks and Minifigs is
- 4:00Speaker 2: a It's not Lego directly, it is just affiliated with Lego.
- 4:07Speaker 2: They are a franchise e that is all around the country. You,
- 4:14Speaker 2: as a consumer of Legos, just say that you are
- 4:18Speaker 2: can go to Bricks and Minifigs and sell your collection, okay.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And you have two options when it comes to selling
- 4:25Speaker 2: your collection. You can sell it out right or you
- 4:30Speaker 2: can sell on consignment, which means that you can basically
- 4:33Speaker 2: have your entire collection there. They will then sell it
- 4:37Speaker 2: as actual products in their store, The store gets a
- 4:41Speaker 2: percentage and the majority goes to the person that was
- 4:46Speaker 2: actually selling that collection. Okay, so this has blown up
- 4:54Speaker 2: this individual store, I believe in Utah. Sickly is saying, hey,
- 5:05Speaker 2: this consignment never happened because it technically happened with the
- 5:09Speaker 2: previous owners. And the previous owners said, hey, we have
- 5:14Speaker 2: this huge consignment, you know, with this two hundred thousand
- 5:18Speaker 2: dollars collection that is literally ninety five percent of the
- 5:23Speaker 2: store now because we were out of inventory and we
- 5:28Speaker 2: need you to take over that consignment. The new owners
- 5:33Speaker 2: said yes they would, The CEO said yes they would,
- 5:36Speaker 2: And now they are basically saying, hey, we're not going
- 5:40Speaker 2: to abide by it because you have no proof that
- 5:42Speaker 2: we're doing it. And so it's this old man who
- 5:47Speaker 2: had health issues, has health issues.
- 5:51Speaker 3: His son probably needed that for his exact bills.
- 5:55Speaker 2: His son was trying to fix everything. It got caught
- 6:01Speaker 2: wind of this YouTuber and they've been like basically making
- 6:06Speaker 2: a documentary of the entire thing. Wow, people have gotten arrested,
- 6:11Speaker 2: people have been threatened by like the like, like with
- 6:16Speaker 2: court cases, dirty cops have been involved, like the Mormon
- 6:24Speaker 2: Church is also somehow involved. It is so like the
- 6:29Speaker 2: idea apparently, and I want to go deeper into this
- 6:34Speaker 2: thing because I have been locked into every single video
- 6:37Speaker 2: that I watch about it is absolutely insane. Apparently the
- 6:42Speaker 2: CEO and the owners, the current owners of that particular location,
- 6:51Speaker 2: as well as some of the police officers in that
- 6:54Speaker 2: county are all connected to the same Mormon Church, and
- 7:02Speaker 2: there is there is a theory and or thought of, hey,
- 7:10Speaker 2: they're using this collection to like basically give all of
- 7:16Speaker 2: the money to the Mormon Church. Mm hmm. And it's
- 7:22Speaker 2: just bashit crazy. So yeah, it's it's a wild, wild story.
- 7:33Speaker 2: I actually have a video that like summarizes the entire thing.
- 7:39Speaker 2: I'm gonna send it to you later tonight. It is crazy.
- 7:44Speaker 2: And the actual person, I think his YouTube channel is
- 7:48Speaker 2: like Reckless Ben or whatever, he wanted to sell the
- 7:56Speaker 2: documentary to streamers. Uh and apparently like his his legal
- 8:02Speaker 2: team or whatever was like, hey, it's getting kind of
- 8:06Speaker 2: out of hand. I don't think any streamers are going
- 8:07Speaker 2: to want to touch this. But you can, you know,
- 8:12Speaker 2: to benefit you and to benefit this family who's had
- 8:16Speaker 2: the entire collection stolen, you can release it on Patreon
- 8:20Speaker 2: and people can support your Patreon and ursus purchase it there.
- 8:26Speaker 2: It got so out of hand that the CEO of
- 8:29Speaker 2: Bricks and Minifigs got in contact with Patreon and said, hey,
- 8:34Speaker 2: destroy this person's account. You need to destroy this person's account.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Patreon has come out and said, hey, we did our
- 8:42Speaker 2: own research. You guys are douchebags. We're not going to
- 8:47Speaker 2: take down and you need to do the right thing
- 8:50Speaker 2: and give the collection back to the individual. Like good.
- 8:53Speaker 2: They've gone out of their way to say like, hey,
- 8:56Speaker 2: like you're in the wrong, We're going to be on
- 8:59Speaker 2: the right side of his Yeah, crazy stuff. And this
- 9:02Speaker 2: all this is literally all because of a Lego collection
- 9:07Speaker 2: that is, by definition right now, the literal largest collection
- 9:16Speaker 2: in the market. So that is for sale. Yeah, the
- 9:20Speaker 2: biggest Star Wars Lego collection. Wow, which absolutely insane. So
- 9:25Speaker 2: I just wanted to throw that out there for anybody
- 9:27Speaker 2: who wants to know about it. Like I said, go
- 9:30Speaker 2: check out Reckless Bin. It's all over TikTok right now.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Like I've been like thankfully on like Star Wars TikTok
- 9:38Speaker 2: for like a good month and a half and I'm
- 9:42Speaker 2: like I'm loving this. I'm loving this, So go check
- 9:45Speaker 2: that out. Some other news video game related. I want
- 9:50Speaker 2: to go ahead and mention Friday, you were listening to this.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Everybody who's listening on podcasts, you're listening to this. On Thursday,
- 10:06Speaker 2: tomorrow is Summer Games Fest. It has already been confirmed
- 10:13Speaker 2: that Zero Company will be showing off more gameplayka with
- 10:21Speaker 2: a release date. They're actually putting down a release date
- 10:25Speaker 2: on Friday. Are we sure this is what they are saying?
- 10:31Speaker 2: Jeff Keeley, the guy who hosts and the creator of
- 10:34Speaker 2: Summer Game Test, has said, Hey, the release date will
- 10:38Speaker 2: be confirmed on Friday. So because we're taking a break
- 10:43Speaker 2: technical break next week, you can go here on the
- 10:48Speaker 2: geek First YouTube channel during Summer Games Fest and I
- 10:53Speaker 2: will be either in the chat with watching live with
- 10:59Speaker 2: Travis you know how, or if everything works out perfectly,
- 11:04Speaker 2: then I will actually be live with Travis talking about
- 11:09Speaker 2: the entire show. But you know, Zero Company is another
- 11:13Speaker 2: reason why I definitely want to be there to get
- 11:15Speaker 2: more information about and everything else. So that is gonna
- 11:21Speaker 2: be Friday, this Friday, Summer Games Fest. So that's one
- 11:24Speaker 2: thing I wanted to put out there. But a big
- 11:27Speaker 2: part of Star Wars news this past week and a
- 11:31Speaker 2: half has been the topic of cal Castis. Cal Castus
- 11:39Speaker 2: has been a huge part of conversation. Katie. You have
- 11:46Speaker 2: yet to watch these videos learn too much about calcasts
- 11:52Speaker 2: other than the fact that he is a survivor of
- 11:58Speaker 2: Order sixty six. You've read a book about him.
- 12:02Speaker 3: I did watch the first game's cut scenes.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Okay, okay, so you just need to watch this. So
- 12:08Speaker 2: you just need to watch the second. Yeah. So there
- 12:11Speaker 2: has been two pieces of news that come out that
- 12:14Speaker 2: has come out since a week and a half. First
- 12:18Speaker 2: piece of news was the fact that, oh my gosh,
- 12:23Speaker 2: I'm I'm, i'm'm well, they want to use him more.
- 12:28Speaker 2: But the book that I still need to pick up,
- 12:30Speaker 2: by the way, the Secrets of the Jedi edition, the
- 12:34Speaker 2: new edition of Secrets of the Jedi, has a portion
- 12:41Speaker 2: in there. Of course, this is in the perspective of
- 12:43Speaker 2: Luke Skywalker. So Luke Skywalker says that he knows about Calcastis.
- 12:52Speaker 2: So he knew about Calcastis before his death. So that
- 12:57Speaker 2: is interesting. And the reason that's interesting is because of
- 13:01Speaker 2: this news that came out this week. Third Star Wars
- 13:06Speaker 2: Jedi game reported to feature an older Calcastis. Now, what
- 13:14Speaker 2: does that mean? What is older Calcastis? Well, we know
- 13:20Speaker 2: that Survivor takes place in nine bby. Now I get
- 13:28Speaker 2: to be the timeline guy. I did my research here,
- 13:31Speaker 2: and we've talked about it before. We've talked about this
- 13:33Speaker 2: before about where he is going to be in the timeline.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Jedi Survivor is during nine BBY, and it is around
- 13:46Speaker 2: that time that he is twenty two or twenty three
- 13:51Speaker 2: years of age. There has been this this individual story
- 13:59Speaker 2: has been a huge topic of conversation because people are like, Okay,
- 14:02Speaker 2: what does older mean? Because we know that there was
- 14:06Speaker 2: a little bit of a time jump between uh.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Uh Fallen Order and Survivor.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Fallen Order and Survivor as well, this one is a
- 14:16Speaker 2: significant time jump because it says older Calcestis. I had
- 14:22Speaker 2: mentioned to you, like, oh, well, you know, the conversation
- 14:26Speaker 2: of him wanting to be used more in the future
- 14:30Speaker 2: definitely means, oh, I guess Calkestis survives the third game.
- 14:34Speaker 2: You know, we were kind of sarcastic about that, Yeah,
- 14:37Speaker 2: and you brought up the idea of, oh well, they
- 14:45Speaker 2: could actually use him even further because carbonite isn't a thing,
- 14:50Speaker 2: and it kind of like blew my mind. And I
- 14:52Speaker 2: even relayed that to the gua and Travis was like,
- 14:56Speaker 2: oh shit, you're right. I was like, oh, I'm not right.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Katie's right, Like Katie was the one that problems.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Up because in Survivor, the villain in that one, right,
- 15:04Speaker 3: correct me if I'm wrong is frozen in carbonate?
- 15:08Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, yes he is. And so I'm like, okay,
- 15:17Speaker 2: this could be a thing with the older Calcastus though,
- 15:25Speaker 2: if this was to be still related to the second
- 15:30Speaker 2: game and everything else in the like ongoing timeline of
- 15:33Speaker 2: what they're kind of playing around with, I think it's
- 15:38Speaker 2: a possibility. Don't hate the player, hate the game. I
- 15:43Speaker 2: think this is a possibility to put Calkestis in the
- 15:49Speaker 2: mando Verse timeline of I would say, oh gosh, what
- 15:59Speaker 2: what what did I say? Well, mando Verse is uns
- 16:07Speaker 2: eleven aby why yeah, eleven a b Why so eleven
- 16:13Speaker 2: plus nine you get twenty years. That puts cal at
- 16:19Speaker 2: about forty years old. Yep. Also, I'm pretty sure I've
- 16:23Speaker 2: said this. It may it. I may be like out
- 16:28Speaker 2: of like, like, uh, what's what's the phrase? Out of
- 16:34Speaker 2: line for this? For some Legends fans, I think cal
- 16:40Speaker 2: Castus may be Cannon's version of oh my gosh, my
- 16:52Speaker 2: favorite No, not star Killer. Oh my god, hor corn Horn. Yes, well, remember.
- 17:04Speaker 3: They might choose to take some characteristics. Corn Horn technically
- 17:10Speaker 3: exists because he was a kid in the opi Wan
- 17:13Speaker 3: Kanoby series.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Oh that's right.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I would more say that he maybe leans Kyle
- 17:21Speaker 3: Katarn because Kyle was I think he wasn't a previously
- 17:40Speaker 3: Oh no, he was an imperial officer. Was that what
- 17:44Speaker 3: I was thinking about? Yeah, I think so. I would
- 17:49Speaker 3: say probably more Kyle Katarn even though he's not necessarily
- 17:57Speaker 3: like he never worked for the Empire, it kind of
- 18:01Speaker 3: falls along the same pathway, I think so.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Yeah, because Koran existing makes me think that they want
- 18:13Speaker 4: to kind of use him in some capacity, even if
- 18:18Speaker 4: it's just a funny easter egg.
- 18:19Speaker 3: Like.
- 18:21Speaker 2: So, what what I had told the gua is I said,
- 18:27Speaker 2: I think he's technically around twenty two or twenty three
- 18:29Speaker 2: years old and Survivor, which takes place in ninety pole.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Why so, right as the Obi Wan Kenobe series is happening,
- 18:36Speaker 2: because the conversation prior to this article that had come
- 18:40Speaker 2: out about an older Calcastus in the game, we were
- 18:44Speaker 2: talking about is it possible that he ever interacts with
- 18:48Speaker 2: our current heroes being Ray, Yeah, possibility of Grogu. I said,
- 18:53Speaker 2: if he were to be anywhere involved in the sequel
- 18:58Speaker 2: trilogy or the the new sequels ten through twelve, he
- 19:06Speaker 2: would technically be sixty seven years old during the Rise
- 19:10Speaker 2: of Skywalker. But that's if he isn't frozen in carbonite.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:18Speaker 2: I am willing to put money down on the idea
- 19:26Speaker 2: that this third game will be taking place during the
- 19:35Speaker 2: Mando Verse like timeline, I could.
- 19:40Speaker 3: See that to try and transition, to try and transition
- 19:46Speaker 3: him into a part where he could be used, whether
- 19:49Speaker 3: it's Disney, whether it's in a movie, something along those lines.
- 19:54Speaker 2: I did check.
- 19:55Speaker 3: So Koryn in the show does not get a last name,
- 20:02Speaker 3: so it could potentially just be another boy named Koran.
- 20:05Speaker 3: But on Wikipedia, the mom is named and she has
- 20:11Speaker 3: a Cannon tag and a Legends tag, whereas if you
- 20:15Speaker 3: go to just Koran's page there is there's only a
- 20:23Speaker 3: canon tab.
- 20:24Speaker 2: So uh, okay, okay, Yeah, So I think that there
- 20:31Speaker 2: is a possibility of cal being in his early to
- 20:37Speaker 2: mid forties. Yeah, in the next game. I think this
- 20:44Speaker 2: is interesting because with the possible collaboration, well not possible,
- 20:53Speaker 2: we know it's going to be very probable.
- 20:56Speaker 3: Uh.
- 20:56Speaker 2: If not guaranteed that they're gonna to put a whole
- 21:00Speaker 2: bunch of lore and their canon bibles in works with
- 21:06Speaker 2: this game. So if that's the case, we could possibly
- 21:11Speaker 2: see an actual interaction with Luke Skywalker and cal But
- 21:18Speaker 2: even more so, we might even see a Calcastis grogu.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Yes, I could see that question for you. What if
- 21:34Speaker 3: what if Dave Filoni said, Okay, this isn't going to
- 21:38Speaker 3: be used. What if the video game is the Final
- 21:42Speaker 3: Battle and it's a giant publishing initiative where we have
- 21:45Speaker 3: all sorts of different materials and the game is thrown versus.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Okay, why why are you putting that bad juju out
- 22:05Speaker 2: in the world. I don't I don't need a Felony's
- 22:14Speaker 2: Avengers moment in Calcastus's third game. Why because it has
- 22:19Speaker 2: nothing to do with him. Here's here's here's here's where
- 22:24Speaker 2: I would be somewhat okay with it if the third
- 22:32Speaker 2: game spins off into a bigger initiative, Yeah, where we then,
- 22:44Speaker 2: like if the third game ends with like thrown like
- 22:51Speaker 2: because okay, so if the third game is just the
- 22:58Speaker 2: third game, right, it has nothing to do with anything
- 23:02Speaker 2: that's happening in the movies or the TV shows and
- 23:05Speaker 2: the books whatever, right, third game goes through, and then
- 23:11Speaker 2: literally before the freaking credits, we see Thron's ship come
- 23:19Speaker 2: out of hyperspace. From the end of Ahsoka, that would
- 23:27Speaker 2: be an oh shit like that then connects the video game.
- 23:35Speaker 3: If you tie it, especially if you tie it into
- 23:40Speaker 3: Maren's story because she's Datha Marion. Is that they spent
- 23:45Speaker 3: plenty of time on Dakamre. You can't tell me the okay,
- 23:48Speaker 3: maybe they're not hiding out on Dathamir together and they
- 23:51Speaker 3: see the new witches of Dathamir.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Well, that I would be okay with. But again, I
- 23:58Speaker 2: need the game to stand lone. I don't want the
- 24:02Speaker 2: game to start. I don't want the game to start
- 24:07Speaker 2: with Thron, right because because I still genuinely believe that
- 24:15Speaker 2: as Ahsoka season two, I still want them to be
- 24:21Speaker 2: stuck in the other galaxy. Yeah, and show us how
- 24:25Speaker 2: they escape. I don't want to see in this game. Oh,
- 24:32Speaker 2: midway through, Ahsoka is here to save the day, right,
- 24:37Speaker 2: and then they never everybody who invested time in Ahsoka season.
- 24:41Speaker 3: One, No, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
- 24:45Speaker 2: It doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Exactly. So
- 24:47Speaker 2: I need if, if, and only if if lucasfilm if
- 24:52Speaker 2: don't throw this into fruition. I'm only saying if if
- 24:59Speaker 2: Feloney wanted to connect the two, it needed to. It
- 25:03Speaker 2: needs to be with Thron popping up at the end
- 25:05Speaker 2: of the game. That is my that is my one
- 25:09Speaker 2: and only thing. But I would actually like that, why
- 25:14Speaker 2: because then we could actually see col in live action.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Now the only thing is the actor, mum, I can't
- 25:30Speaker 2: ever remember his name, Cameron Monahan. Yeah, currently, it's thirty
- 25:41Speaker 2: two years old, so not too far off.
- 25:46Speaker 3: That's not a big that's not a big jump.
- 25:49Speaker 2: It's not a huge jump. But do you think you
- 25:52Speaker 2: can make a thirty two year old look ten years
- 25:57Speaker 2: older without well, you're already seen obviously.
- 26:05Speaker 3: I think nowadays especially, people are flexible as long as
- 26:11Speaker 3: you're not supposed to have gray hair or something. But
- 26:14Speaker 3: in today's day and age, I think people are a
- 26:18Speaker 3: lot more flexible.
- 26:20Speaker 2: I think so, I think that there is a possibility
- 26:24Speaker 2: that Monahan can definitely look forty, you know, with a
- 26:30Speaker 2: little bit of makeup, as long as they don't make
- 26:33Speaker 2: it dramatic, you know, like, yeah, don't give him like
- 26:37Speaker 2: an entire like mask and then put makeup on the mask,
- 26:41Speaker 2: you know. Yeah, and especially with the like mechanic of
- 26:47Speaker 2: the second game, you're able to change like his facial hair,
- 26:52Speaker 2: the hairstyle that you have. Like, if they just work
- 26:58Speaker 2: around the facial hair and the hairstyle, I think you
- 27:01Speaker 2: could definitely make him ten years older. And in that case,
- 27:05Speaker 2: I think we finally get Cameron as Cal live action
- 27:12Speaker 2: get we get to see him possibly in you know,
- 27:15Speaker 2: a season three of Ahsoka, because I doubt. I doubt
- 27:22Speaker 2: for one if this is like, we're not even making
- 27:24Speaker 2: a pizza bet. But if this all comes into fruition
- 27:27Speaker 2: and Katie is just like some sort of like witch,
- 27:30Speaker 2: then I will just buy her like three pizzas like
- 27:36Speaker 2: cause I just don't see Cameron being in season two
- 27:39Speaker 2: of Ahsoka. No, I don't either, But if it were
- 27:43Speaker 2: to actually legitimately happen, I would be really excited because
- 27:46Speaker 2: a lot of people have wanted Cal to come to
- 27:49Speaker 2: live action, and there's no reason he can't exactly. Yeah,
- 27:55Speaker 2: but yeah, I think it's a very fun idea that
- 28:00Speaker 2: this is going to have another time jump. Katie. You
- 28:04Speaker 2: really need to watch the cut scenes for Survivor only
- 28:11Speaker 2: because of the High Republic connections, and the ending of Survivor.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Like all of this talk of like Star Wars lately
- 28:26Speaker 2: on the internet, not necessarily just like us because we
- 28:29Speaker 2: talked about Star Wars every single week, but like because
- 28:33Speaker 2: Star Wars has been such a conversation on the internet
- 28:35Speaker 2: right now. I've been wanting to go back to those games.
- 28:40Speaker 2: So I think I'm gonna play Survivor again. I don't
- 28:43Speaker 2: know if I'll play The Fallen Order again, but I
- 28:49Speaker 2: definitely want to go back to Survivor. I love the
- 28:58Speaker 2: surprise that the story entails, like there is a there
- 29:05Speaker 2: is a universe slash galaxy like implication with what is
- 29:15Speaker 2: talked about in that game that could literally change the
- 29:18Speaker 2: way that, like all of Cannon is looked at. And
- 29:21Speaker 2: I need you to see that. I need you to
- 29:26Speaker 2: witness it and then give me your opinion on it.
- 29:28Speaker 2: That's I want to know your opinion on it. But yeah,
- 29:32Speaker 2: I think it's gonna be really really fun this game.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Of course, I don't see it happening anywhere within the
- 29:39Speaker 2: next like two years. I think we get an announcement
- 29:45Speaker 2: for it in probably the end of twenty eight. And
- 29:53Speaker 2: that's that's just me making a wild guess. Now again,
- 29:56Speaker 2: we still have Summer Game Fest this week, we have
- 30:00Speaker 2: the Game Awards at the end of the year. There
- 30:04Speaker 2: are some pretty big announcements literally just yesterday for a
- 30:08Speaker 2: State of playover at Sony, So like this might be
- 30:12Speaker 2: a big year of announcements. So we'll see.
- 30:14Speaker 3: Yeah, And I feel like when Survivor got announced, it
- 30:19Speaker 3: was like a pretty quick turnaround.
- 30:21Speaker 2: I feel like, ah, I would have to look back
- 30:24Speaker 2: to see how how fast the announcement versus the release
- 30:29Speaker 2: date was, So I'll look into that. So that's video
- 30:35Speaker 2: game talk. That's that's a video game conversations.
- 30:39Speaker 3: So then the next piece of news that we have
- 30:45Speaker 3: is an announcement that happened recently is that the Ninth
- 30:50Speaker 3: Jedi TV Show announced that they will be having a
- 30:54Speaker 3: panel at the upcoming Anime Expo, which is going to
- 30:58Speaker 3: be taking place in Anaheim in early July. So the
- 31:03Speaker 3: supervising director, director, producer, and Lucasfilm executive producers will participate
- 31:11Speaker 3: in the panel that will showcase the making of the series.
- 31:16Speaker 5: And then that evening or I don't know if it's
- 31:20Speaker 5: that evening on the evening of the first day of
- 31:22Speaker 5: the expo, the first episode of the series will be screened,
- 31:27Speaker 5: so that.
- 31:29Speaker 3: Knowing that that's coming in July. We don't have an
- 31:32Speaker 3: announcement trailer for it yet, but obviously we're in the
- 31:35Speaker 3: middle of still trying to make sure that Mandolin Grog
- 31:37Speaker 3: who is gonna make money at the box office, So
- 31:42Speaker 3: we probably won't get an announcement until maybe even the
- 31:46Speaker 3: Expo panel. And I would say probably getting it like August. Time.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Brame like for when the show will actually come out,
- 31:59Speaker 3: You're on mute.
- 32:01Speaker 2: I don't know why I muted myself, So, oh I was.
- 32:05Speaker 2: I was typing a whole lot of stuff. I to
- 32:08Speaker 2: answer the question about Survivor. It was announced January of
- 32:12Speaker 2: twenty two and it released April of twenty three, so
- 32:15Speaker 2: it was only a year in three months, okay, so
- 32:21Speaker 2: you know, we could actually see a pretty quick turnaround
- 32:23Speaker 2: if they kind of keep on that same timeline.
- 32:26Speaker 3: No.
- 32:26Speaker 2: I was literally thinking, I was like, when did Visions
- 32:29Speaker 2: come out? And I'm like, oh, I'm that comes out
- 32:31Speaker 2: literally every May fourth.
- 32:34Speaker 3: So sometimes one year it was in the fall.
- 32:39Speaker 2: It was in the fall, Okay, So there is hope
- 32:42Speaker 2: that we could see a fall release of this of
- 32:46Speaker 2: the series. If there's already going to be a screening.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Do you think that is because it's done, I would.
- 32:58Speaker 3: See so, and they're just trying to draw uh uh
- 33:01Speaker 3: interesting by the show excitement because I mean, like they
- 33:07Speaker 3: said specifically last year at celebration that this was gonna
- 33:11Speaker 3: come out next year, which is now this year. So
- 33:15Speaker 3: I would imagine that we would still see it this
- 33:17Speaker 3: year because that's not something that Lucasfilm. Lucasfilm has a
- 33:21Speaker 3: hand in it, but they're not the ones directly producing
- 33:24Speaker 3: it and developing it. So I would say for a
- 33:29Speaker 3: matter of fact, it's gonna come out at some point
- 33:31Speaker 3: this year.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Do we have a confirmation on how many episodes this
- 33:36Speaker 2: is supposed to be? Lucasfilm, I know you listen to
- 33:40Speaker 2: our show if you were smart, I'm just gonna go
- 33:44Speaker 2: ahead and say this limited time theater release.
- 33:53Speaker 3: At least for the opening.
- 33:55Speaker 2: I feel like, yeah, like you you could literally do
- 33:58Speaker 2: like if if they are doing another you know, hey,
- 34:04Speaker 2: two episode premiere, mm hmmm, two episode premiere in theaters.
- 34:11Speaker 3: Here's a question. Do they put the original first two
- 34:17Speaker 3: episodes out at that point because they would technically be
- 34:21Speaker 3: a part of the series, or are they going to well,
- 34:26Speaker 3: like is that gonna be the opening of it, and
- 34:30Speaker 3: then like you jump out like into new episodes from there,
- 34:34Speaker 3: and they're gonna like treat that as the premiere or
- 34:37Speaker 3: is it just gonna be Okay, you technically have these
- 34:40Speaker 3: episodes here and it's gonna be on the ninth Jedi page,
- 34:45Speaker 3: but the first episode is going to be episode three.
- 34:48Speaker 2: No, so you're talking about Disney Plus. Yeah, on Disney Plus, No,
- 34:52Speaker 2: I think it's gonna be its own separate thing. I
- 34:54Speaker 2: don't think. I think the way that Disney Plus works,
- 35:00Speaker 2: you go to a series right below the series or
- 35:04Speaker 2: like to I can't remember if it's below or to
- 35:07Speaker 2: the right. There's like suggested, Yeah, that's where you have Visions. Yeah,
- 35:16Speaker 2: Vision season one, Vision season two right there. They don't
- 35:22Speaker 2: make the I don't think they're going to create new
- 35:27Speaker 2: metadata to then put it on the same page quote
- 35:32Speaker 2: unquote as the original series in theaters. I think what
- 35:39Speaker 2: you do is if they have a two episode premiere,
- 35:44Speaker 2: you actually have the first two episodes season one of Vision,
- 35:49Speaker 2: Season two of Visions as the yeah season three sorry,
- 35:54Speaker 2: as the start of the movie, and then there is
- 35:58Speaker 2: a intermission, and then the premiere of the first two
- 36:04Speaker 2: episodes comes out.
- 36:06Speaker 3: See I disagree with that that or not necessarily the theatrical
- 36:10Speaker 3: release part of it, But like, I don't see why
- 36:13Speaker 3: you couldn't put those first two episodes there or like
- 36:17Speaker 3: put not even put them as like part of season one.
- 36:20Speaker 3: You could say, oh, this is season one, and if
- 36:22Speaker 3: season one and season three episodes of the ninth Jedi
- 36:25Speaker 3: from Visions, so that it's all attached and you can go, Okay,
- 36:29Speaker 3: this came first, But is.
- 36:32Speaker 2: There anything that like, so I'm trying to think of anything,
- 36:41Speaker 2: whether it be Star Wars related or anything else within
- 36:44Speaker 2: Disney that takes an episode from a different technical, different
- 36:53Speaker 2: series and puts it in the series that is premiering.
- 36:59Speaker 3: No, I've I think this would definitely be a first
- 37:01Speaker 3: because like typically like it's something like uh, like I'm
- 37:07Speaker 3: trying to think like if you had like the Clone
- 37:10Speaker 3: Wars movie, for instance, it's basically like if the first
- 37:13Speaker 3: two episodes that if released are like the Clone Wars movie,
- 37:16Speaker 3: you need something similar where you can go, hey, this
- 37:20Speaker 3: actually came first, and then you jump into all of
- 37:23Speaker 3: this like.
- 37:26Speaker 2: So interesting enough. Well, the thing is this is I
- 37:32Speaker 2: was like, okay, best case scenario for this would technically
- 37:35Speaker 2: be Netflix, Marvel, mar So like if I click on Daredevil,
- 37:45Speaker 2: it says episodes, suggested, extras and details I go to
- 37:49Speaker 2: suggested all of Daredevil and all of the uh other
- 38:00Speaker 2: flicks shows are here.
- 38:04Speaker 3: I say, right, but I'm thinking from somebody who's like, oh,
- 38:08Speaker 3: I want like I've never seen Visions, but you know what,
- 38:11Speaker 3: the show looks interesting, like this is a new Star
- 38:14Speaker 3: Wars show. Like I wasn't interested in an anthology, but
- 38:17Speaker 3: I'm interested in a full blown story.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Yeah right here, like.
- 38:23Speaker 3: I did. They might try to like make it so
- 38:27Speaker 3: you could jump on with episode three, but to me,
- 38:31Speaker 3: I would want to know the rest of what happened.
- 38:32Speaker 3: And if you just say, hey, here's Visions, I'm gonna
- 38:36Speaker 3: look at that still and go, no, I'm not interested
- 38:39Speaker 3: in that.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Do you know what they will do? They won't do
- 38:43Speaker 2: it on the actual page. I'm gonna I'm gonna go
- 38:47Speaker 2: ahead and say they won't do it on the page.
- 38:49Speaker 2: But looking at Disney Plus now I'm looking at the browser.
- 38:53Speaker 2: The browser and the app on TV are basically the
- 38:59Speaker 2: exact same. I will say, like, I think they are
- 39:02Speaker 2: very good at complete uniform when it comes to the
- 39:05Speaker 2: phone app, TV app and browser. I'm sorry if I
- 39:09Speaker 2: hit my mic. I think it'll be on the banner.
- 39:14Speaker 2: I think it'll be on the home screen banner. It'll
- 39:18Speaker 2: be like the Ninth Jedi collection. They do those a lot.
- 39:24Speaker 2: They do collections. So if you have Disney Plus or whatever,
- 39:30Speaker 2: you go to the side where it has the three
- 39:33Speaker 2: bars or whatever, or if you go into your search,
- 39:39Speaker 2: they will have like popular searches, trending searches, all these
- 39:42Speaker 2: other things. But like you will see right now, that's
- 39:46Speaker 2: Pride Collection, Disney's Unior Collection, ESPN, and Disney Plus collection.
- 39:51Speaker 2: I think there could definitely be a either Visions collection,
- 40:01Speaker 2: but because it's not Visions, I think it will be
- 40:04Speaker 2: the Ninth Jedi Collection. Mm hmm. And when you click
- 40:08Speaker 2: on it, so if I clicked because right now there's
- 40:10Speaker 2: a Blue collection, there's three options for Blue. Right now,
- 40:16Speaker 2: there is the Blue Show, the many episodes, and then
- 40:25Speaker 2: there's Blue's Big Play, which is which is an actual
- 40:28Speaker 2: like theater rendition of a like original story. Yeah, Amberlyn
- 40:38Speaker 2: loves it, but it shows all three options. I think
- 40:43Speaker 2: they do that. So the actual page for the Ninth
- 40:50Speaker 2: Jedi series is still standalone.
- 40:53Speaker 3: But my concern with that is just the like they
- 40:59Speaker 3: really haven't done in individual episodes. Like I hear what
- 41:01Speaker 3: you're saying with the collection, but it's all series based.
- 41:05Speaker 3: And again, if you put visions up there, nobody's gonna
- 41:08Speaker 3: know from not having experience with it. Oh well, like
- 41:14Speaker 3: this clearly must have something Ninth Jedi in it. That's
- 41:18Speaker 3: my wing.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Well, and that's that's what I mean though, Like so,
- 41:22Speaker 2: so I envision the banner saying, because I'm looking at
- 41:25Speaker 2: one banner right now saying the Pride Collection. You click
- 41:29Speaker 2: on that where it says details, and it has everything
- 41:33Speaker 2: that will be available. It'll show visions, it'll show Vision
- 41:39Speaker 2: season two, and then it'll show the Ninth Jedi. But
- 41:46Speaker 2: I am curious if they will go your route with
- 41:51Speaker 2: the collection and not put visions but rather put the
- 41:58Speaker 2: individual episode those two with the Ninth Jedi series in
- 42:04Speaker 2: that collection. It's like, yeah, I think it's kind of
- 42:08Speaker 2: just like a nitpicky tip for tat type of thing
- 42:11Speaker 2: what we're trying to describe. Yeah, but I think there
- 42:15Speaker 2: is a correct way to do it, and I think
- 42:17Speaker 2: there is an incorrect way to do it. And the
- 42:21Speaker 2: main reason why I say that is like, for just
- 42:24Speaker 2: right now, of course, there is the month of June,
- 42:29Speaker 2: Pride month. They have the Pride collection. When I am
- 42:34Speaker 2: scrolling through the homepage, not even through the collections tab.
- 42:41Speaker 2: When I'm just scrolling through the homepage, you have to
- 42:46Speaker 2: scroll halfway if not two, like like three fourths of
- 42:51Speaker 2: the way through to finally get to the collection's tab.
- 42:57Speaker 2: That's my problem. Yeah, is hey, if you want people
- 43:02Speaker 2: to know about this, you need to advertise these a
- 43:06Speaker 2: little bit more. You need to market them a little
- 43:08Speaker 2: bit better on your platform. Yeah, and I think that
- 43:12Speaker 2: will be something that could hurt the ninth Jedi series
- 43:19Speaker 2: for sure.
- 43:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so too.
- 43:24Speaker 2: All Right, well, I think that might be. Oh well,
- 43:29Speaker 2: the one thing that we, of course wanted to talk
- 43:33Speaker 2: about when we finally came back live was box office
- 43:38Speaker 2: for Mandalorian and Grogu. Now, I will say it's not
- 43:42Speaker 2: great news. It's not great news.
- 43:45Speaker 3: It wasn't bad news for opening weekend.
- 43:48Speaker 2: No, it wasn't bad news for opening weekend. So the
- 43:51Speaker 2: opening weekend we have I think in total was eighty
- 44:02Speaker 2: one million dollars. Yeah, eighty one six basically eighty two.
- 44:12Speaker 2: That was opening weekend. That was Friday, Saturday and Sunday Monday.
- 44:17Speaker 2: There was a Memorial Day weekend that actually bumped it
- 44:22Speaker 2: to nearly one hundred million. Yeah, and then from there
- 44:32Speaker 2: the very next week, Friday, May, we get a eighty
- 44:40Speaker 2: percent drop on viewership, on on the on income for
- 44:49Speaker 2: the box office.
- 44:51Speaker 3: That's a huge at least internationally because I'm on box
- 44:56Speaker 3: Office Modo and so well, okay, this includes like everything,
- 45:03Speaker 3: so maybe not never, but like currently we're at domestically,
- 45:08Speaker 3: we're at one hundred and forty two point two million dollars, yes.
- 45:12Speaker 2: With the international numbers being one hundred and nine million dollars,
- 45:16Speaker 2: with a worldwide box office of two fifty one uh
- 45:20Speaker 2: in total as of right now. This is uh to
- 45:26Speaker 2: as of Tuesday, So of course Wednesday's numbers are not
- 45:29Speaker 2: up quite yet, so it's not a full two weeks,
- 45:35Speaker 2: but we have a thirty percent drop from the eighty
- 45:41Speaker 2: already between Friday and Tuesday. I don't like, I think
- 45:51Speaker 2: like the big meme for the past week and a
- 45:54Speaker 2: half has been like, oh, they're going to go take
- 45:58Speaker 2: Filoni out back, you know, and you know, give them
- 46:03Speaker 2: the old Yeller treatment, And we kind of already knew
- 46:11Speaker 2: that they were probably not expecting gigantic numbers from this
- 46:17Speaker 2: because they were already saying, hey, this isn't the big movie.
- 46:23Speaker 2: Starfighter is the big movie. Yeah, first off, you don't
- 46:26Speaker 2: say that before your movie comes out. Okay, you say, hey,
- 46:30Speaker 2: this is the big movie, and an even bigger movie
- 46:33Speaker 2: is coming out later, you know, so you know, there's
- 46:38Speaker 2: there's the first strike. But again, overall, this movie is
- 46:48Speaker 2: a success reception wise. This is a success opening weekend wise.
- 46:56Speaker 2: Now the continuous money that it's going to make is
- 47:00Speaker 2: not doing great. Just like we talked about, I think
- 47:05Speaker 2: this does put a lot of weight on Starfighters soldiers. Yeah,
- 47:13Speaker 2: so we'll see. We'll definitely see how all of this
- 47:19Speaker 2: kind of breaks down. Where do you think this ends
- 47:25Speaker 2: as far as box office?
- 47:30Speaker 3: I think we're probably looking at like four hundred.
- 47:34Speaker 2: You think you think it reaches four hundred, I think
- 47:37Speaker 2: it reaches four hundred. As crazy as this sounds, Friday
- 47:45Speaker 2: it made thirty three million. This past Tuesday, yesterday it
- 47:52Speaker 2: made three million. I do not think that we hit
- 48:03Speaker 2: three hundred.
- 48:05Speaker 3: It's gonna hit three hundred.
- 48:08Speaker 2: If it does. I don't think it hits three fifteen.
- 48:14Speaker 3: Okay, I'm I'm gonna.
- 48:17Speaker 2: Say three fifty three fifty, Okay, Okay, it like it could. Guys,
- 48:26Speaker 2: remember this movie came out right before the end of
- 48:31Speaker 2: the school year, like one thing that we just like me,
- 48:36Speaker 2: Abby and Amberln literally just went off to pizza just
- 48:39Speaker 2: now and we're like, holy crap, it is packed. We've
- 48:42Speaker 2: never seen this before. And we're like, oh wait, it's
- 48:45Speaker 2: the summer. So of course, all across America, you know,
- 48:51Speaker 2: there is different times of which schools end. I think
- 48:56Speaker 2: that closer to the South, school just recently ended, whereas
- 49:03Speaker 2: here up north Midwest we are seeing that, like schools
- 49:08Speaker 2: have been out for about three weeks now. Yeah, so
- 49:16Speaker 2: we could see a small bump in these numbers, that's
- 49:21Speaker 2: not impossible. I will say there has been a lot
- 49:27Speaker 2: of success in horror films right now. Horror films are
- 49:31Speaker 2: like just engulfing the box office for the past like
- 49:36Speaker 2: three weeks. So we'll see. We will definitely see I
- 49:42Speaker 2: got a pizza bet on on Supergirl, So you know,
- 49:47Speaker 2: we'll see how movies are coming and going in the summer.
- 49:52Speaker 2: But that's really all I have to say for the
- 49:54Speaker 2: box office. I wish it the best. I think there's
- 49:59Speaker 2: just like I said, I think I think this box
- 50:02Speaker 2: office reflects the ideas of what Disney is thinking of
- 50:09Speaker 2: when it comes to Starfighter, Like, hey, like you better
- 50:12Speaker 2: make us money. Yeah, yeah, for sure. So yeah, guys,
- 50:18Speaker 2: we are going to do a double recording here on
- 50:21Speaker 2: this live. We're gonna be talking about right now Jedi
- 50:25Speaker 2: Knight's Volume two, The Higher Path, and then we will
- 50:31Speaker 2: be also recording Han solo The Hunt for the Falcon,
- 50:34Speaker 2: which does release on podcasts next week for all of
- 50:40Speaker 2: our listeners. Uh so you'll hear all of the same conversation,
- 50:46Speaker 2: probably not the long winded version for for Han Solo
- 50:50Speaker 2: and the news and all of that will probably just
- 50:52Speaker 2: put down the review, but we'll see. But o kay,
- 50:59Speaker 2: Jedi Knights the Higher Path, Volume two.
- 51:10Speaker 3: I liked this better than the first one.
- 51:16Speaker 2: I liked it better than the first one. It feels
- 51:20Speaker 2: like a kick in the nuts that it ends at ten.
- 51:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I would agree, I think not in the.
- 51:27Speaker 2: Fact that it ends in ten and like that's the
- 51:29Speaker 2: end of volume two. That's the end of the series.
- 51:32Speaker 3: Yeah, Like this was when they talked about this series.
- 51:38Speaker 3: It was talked about being like the idea was that
- 51:41Speaker 3: we were going to get one shot into Jedi Knight Inventors,
- 51:45Speaker 3: and instead of that there should have been Jedi Knight's
- 51:48Speaker 3: Qui gon Chen. You can still have other people, but
- 51:51Speaker 3: the series was clearly about Qui gon Chen and his
- 51:56Speaker 3: need to come to terms with his guilts over what
- 52:00Speaker 3: Count Dooku convinced him to do with the things.
- 52:04Speaker 2: Do you think they decided to go against a Qui
- 52:08Speaker 2: Gongen title because of what came out earlier in the
- 52:12Speaker 2: year with the uh Qui Gongen story Hyperspace stories, the
- 52:19Speaker 2: hyperspace stories.
- 52:20Speaker 3: Yeah, probably, yeah, probably, I think that was what I
- 52:25Speaker 3: was thinking too. I was like, wait, this really should
- 52:27Speaker 3: have been hyper Like did hyperspace stories Qui gon Jen
- 52:30Speaker 3: get delayed? And then I was like, no, no, it didn't.
- 52:33Speaker 2: It came out.
- 52:34Speaker 3: Why are my dogs losing their crap?
- 52:37Speaker 2: Well, like overall, like when you read this story, the
- 52:42Speaker 2: overarching story, what connects Issue one to issue ten is
- 52:48Speaker 2: this Qui Gonngen story. I think in total there is
- 52:52Speaker 2: possibly like three, maybe four other anthology esque stories in here.
- 53:01Speaker 2: Everything else connects to Qui gun Job. So yeah, like
- 53:05Speaker 2: you have legitimately a volume worth of Qui gon Jen
- 53:09Speaker 2: stories and then you have a mini series of anthologies.
- 53:15Speaker 3: Yeah, because like the through Youngling Eyes, I loved this
- 53:21Speaker 3: one shot. I love this.
- 53:24Speaker 2: I want that story, although I do think it's absolutely
- 53:30Speaker 2: hilarious and kind of ridiculous, the idea of seeing somebody
- 53:37Speaker 2: a little bit older than like I would. Okay, so
- 53:44Speaker 2: a question about that story. You first see the reflection
- 53:49Speaker 2: of the character in like a water puddle at the
- 53:53Speaker 2: very beginning, Yes, looks small. How old do you think
- 53:59Speaker 2: that that individual is when they get picked up. I
- 54:07Speaker 2: don't because it's not it's not toddler. It's not toddler.
- 54:11Speaker 3: No, she's definitely older than that.
- 54:13Speaker 2: But the po V panels make her hands look a
- 54:18Speaker 2: little chunky like a toddler. So when you see it
- 54:21Speaker 2: holding the lightsaber, I kind of have to laugh. And
- 54:24Speaker 2: I'm just thinking, like it's like, it's like imagining Mara
- 54:28Speaker 2: with a lightsaber. Yeah, when I first thought about it,
- 54:33Speaker 2: and like, hold on, she's a lot older than that.
- 54:35Speaker 2: Hold On, I have to think about this more so
- 54:38Speaker 2: if it was like an Anakin from from Phantom Menace
- 54:42Speaker 2: but younger, but just a little bit younger than Anakin
- 54:46Speaker 2: and Phantom Menace holding a lightsaber.
- 54:53Speaker 3: It cracks me up. On the Wikipedia because her name
- 54:58Speaker 3: is Sunna and under species they have a species.
- 55:03Speaker 2: Do they really Yes, I'm I'm on the another.
- 55:12Speaker 3: Hmm wait am I on the I'm on the character?
- 55:18Speaker 2: I need to find the Wikipedia page. Mm hmmm, Okay,
- 55:27Speaker 2: there we go. So yeah, like there were stories like
- 55:31Speaker 2: that that I really really enjoyed. Now there were stories
- 55:35Speaker 2: that were kind of like Qui Gon adjacent because they
- 55:39Speaker 2: only dealt with Count Dooku, right yeah, and even those
- 55:47Speaker 2: really interested in those, Like we talked about it the
- 55:49Speaker 2: last time we talked about Volume one. The fact that
- 55:52Speaker 2: we saw the story dealing with my gosh, what's her
- 56:02Speaker 2: name that eventually gets killed by Doku Yattle, like that
- 56:08Speaker 2: holds a lot of weight because of their eventual future, right,
- 56:12Speaker 2: Like that is an interesting take. I want a little
- 56:16Speaker 2: bit more of that because we never saw anything more
- 56:20Speaker 2: from that. We never saw like, okay, we see that
- 56:24Speaker 2: there is tension between Doku and the Council and the Academy,
- 56:31Speaker 2: you know, and I know people will say like, oh,
- 56:37Speaker 2: you will probably just get Count Dooku beating a dead horse,
- 56:40Speaker 2: saying how like, oh, you know they because he he
- 56:44Speaker 2: does finally kind of let out some of his like
- 56:48Speaker 2: issues with the Academy when he when you see the
- 56:50Speaker 2: flashback with Qui gon like you eventually get that, but
- 56:54Speaker 2: like as it's really funny because Abby has been doing
- 56:58Speaker 2: a lot of research with ADHD. Uh about ADHD because
- 57:02Speaker 2: I have ADHD, And she's like, oh, I found out
- 57:07Speaker 2: why you like confrontation because ADHD people like to argue,
- 57:11Speaker 2: and like she like explained all this thing, and I'm
- 57:14Speaker 2: just like, well, maybe Count Douku just has some form
- 57:17Speaker 2: of ADHD and he just likes to be confrontational and
- 57:21Speaker 2: argue all the time. But like I know it would
- 57:24Speaker 2: be like beating a dead horse, But like I want
- 57:28Speaker 2: to see him have this legitimate conversation with the council.
- 57:32Speaker 2: I want to see how far it went or did
- 57:34Speaker 2: they Like.
- 57:35Speaker 3: I'm gonna see it if that's the reason he truly
- 57:37Speaker 3: leaves and is like he has that conversation and like
- 57:40Speaker 3: they're like this ain't gonna work, and then he.
- 57:43Speaker 2: Because we kind of we kind of.
- 57:46Speaker 3: Get it in flashbacks with Duku Jedi Loses, which is
- 57:49Speaker 3: the audio drama, but it's not all the way.
- 57:52Speaker 2: They are like we haven't had a clear direct Hey,
- 57:59Speaker 2: this is w I am leaving. We of course, of
- 58:03Speaker 2: course you read the again, you read the last issue
- 58:07Speaker 2: of this series, and you see Dooku tel Qui gon. Oh,
- 58:14Speaker 2: what we do as Jedi is bullshit. Yeah, you know
- 58:18Speaker 2: they say we're this. No, we're knights, we're warriors. We
- 58:22Speaker 2: have to do this, Like you see him going down
- 58:24Speaker 2: the path, but there is like, as of right now,
- 58:30Speaker 2: everything is assumption. Yeah, oh he left the Jedi Order
- 58:34Speaker 2: because of this. There has to be a line. There
- 58:39Speaker 2: has to be for everybody, not just like not legitimately
- 58:43Speaker 2: just in the Star Wars universe, but in real life.
- 58:45Speaker 2: There has always have to There has to be a
- 58:48Speaker 2: line of people's tolerance, people's like, hey this is going
- 58:53Speaker 2: too far, or hey this is where I say fit right.
- 58:59Speaker 3: Yep.
- 59:00Speaker 2: We have not seen that from Doku yet, which is
- 59:05Speaker 2: insane to think about because we've had so many stories
- 59:09Speaker 2: about his indifference with the Council and with the Order,
- 59:16Speaker 2: but never the direct confrontation that gets him out.
- 59:22Speaker 3: Yeah, it's insane, and I think that's why this story
- 59:27Speaker 3: shows a lot of promise. Like I've had a lot
- 59:30Speaker 3: of issues with the Wake Guggenheim writes his comics, but
- 59:33Speaker 3: I think like those last two issues are fantastic, and
- 59:38Speaker 3: the three Jungling Eyes, so like the last three.
- 59:41Speaker 2: Issues, I think technically, yeah.
- 59:43Speaker 3: But like the rest of this series, like you said,
- 59:46Speaker 3: is like a big dumb, A big dumb. We didn't
- 59:52Speaker 3: say who was who the writers and art people were
- 59:56Speaker 3: in this series, so we need to fix that nowt
- 59:59Speaker 3: But writers Mark Dukenheim, the artist is made Beec Musa Beckov,
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: the color artist is Luis Carrero. Letter is a VC's
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: Clayton Cowell's and the cover art is done by Madibik
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: Musa Beckov and Hayes who's uppertalv And again, I want
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: to see these artists come back because I think this
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: is the first time they've done Star Wars comics. I mean,
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: I don't remember ever sharing her names except for this run.
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: I love it.
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: I need more.
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: That's like the number one out of this series for me,
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: the fact.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: That we saw actual consistency with Mace windu uh huh.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: Actually I was like, wow, I'm actually surprised with this
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: compared to the other books that we have been reading
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: with people of color and aliens and all the proportions
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: are different in every single panel and it just doesn't
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: look good. This was a very nice, like consecutive art
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: piast like, I really enjoyed the series art wise.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: It's fantastic and to be able to hit, like you said,
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: to be able to hit the people of color, the
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: aliens all the same, because while it does focus in
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: on a story about Qui gon Jin, there is a
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: lot of representation here with Sada knights, with different alien races,
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: different planets. So they really hit the nail on the
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: head with this one. Other than that, I thought Corliss
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: Wrath like that Sinsara story was super interesting with like
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: the chrysalis. I liked that they talked about metamorphosizing and
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: kind of going through a difficult process to become something new.
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: I've always enjoyed that concept, not necessarily the concept, but
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: like the idea of that with butterflies and caterpillars, and
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: so to see that here and see that utilization was
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: super meat.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: Yeah, it was. It was very interesting. Like there was
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: a conversation that Qui gon had with of course, the
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: librarian that was like, hey, I'm trying to look into
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: a species that could change their appearance, and just so
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: happens that she mentions the what were.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: They called again, these sinsorroens.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: Cinsorrons, and he's like, I mean, yeah, kind of, but
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: like clearly he doesn't look like a Cinsarron, and she's
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: like Will technically and kind of schools him on the
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: idea of the Chrystalis. I thought that was really really fun.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: We haven't really seen ship shifting in Star Wars other
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: than the Yeah and of course uh episode, so I
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: thought that was really really fun. Some other highlights here
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: we can see again, I say, we see Kelor and Beck.
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: I thought, you know, going back to the the very
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: one shot of the what was that issue called again,
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: the one with the through young young Ling's eye. Sorry,
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: very interesting decision that they made here. Most young Wings
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: forged their own own lightsaber for them to decide, hey,
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: we're going to forge lightsaber for you. For people who
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: did not read this and just want to hear our
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: opinions on it, the two not Jedi Nights yet because
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: they were I think this was like their trial to
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: be a Jedi Knight. They're like lightsabers, were actually forged
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: into a double hilt lightsaber to like like it. It
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: was just a very interesting choice to say, like, hey,
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: you're not going to forge your own lightsaber, we have
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: built one for you. And it's these two people that
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: didn't necessarily sacrifice their lives. They just ended up dying
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: on this mission and you've tagged along in memory of them.
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: You get to have both of their lightsabers.
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: Yeah, And that was the one kind of question I
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: had about the series or the issue. Now. I don't
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: think they were necessarily like this is your permanent lightsaber.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: It was more of like a gift. Hey, huh, like
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: a gift, yeah, because like.
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: Obi Wan holds onto Qui Gon's lightsaber.
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: That's true.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: So it's kind of like a hey, this is a
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: token of somebody who set you on a different path
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: kind of thing, and she could choose to do something
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: else with it long term what she is old enough
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: to kind of like use it and stuff. But it's
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: more of just like we thought you might want to
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: have this because without them, they would have like you
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: would have never left your planet.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Basic is what I I just I thought it was
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: very interesting, like it was a very interesting creative choice
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: to be like, hey, this is the first lightsaber that
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: you were going to be presented with cool design because
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: they were both different colored hills. I thought that was
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: really cool. And I will say their death was kind
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: of jarring, like their eyes were rolling in the back
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: of their head. They were getting shot at, very well
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: done art like to make that, and it was kind
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: of like, of course, in the perspective of this child
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: POV style, so like the panels were kind of like
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: fishbowld yeah way, and so it was. It was very
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: unique and very interesting. So I I really dig that,
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: and like, I don't know if we're ever going to
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: see this character again, but it was interesting enough to
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: be like, hey, I want to see this character again.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: Yeah, And I looked when I was looking at the Wikipedia.
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: She isn't one of Obi Wan's visions from the first.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: Volume.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: I had already put away my first volume by the
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: time I kind of recognized that, so I can't go
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: check that. But she is in the first issue of
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: this series.
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: I have Marvel Unlimited right here, so I'm gonna go
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: check it out.
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: Oh mis defensive bands. No, I I definitely think if
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: you're interested in prequel era Jedi, this is a comic
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: you could be interested in. Otherwise, I don't necessarily know
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: if this is a comic for everyone other than the
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: gorgeous artwork. The artwork is fantastic, So.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I okay, yeah, she she is, So you see
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: her right here at the like midway point of the book,
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: how it like shows color and Back like offering us
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: to like say, like because because in the story she
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: is captured. Yeah, and Keller and Beck is the one
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: that saves her. That that is that scene, and like
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: it's pretty wild that Keller and Back like gave her
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: the lightsaber. It was like, hey, don't know if you
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: know how to use this, but like here you go, like,
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: well he didn't give it to her.
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: He just was like, you need to fight now, and
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: so she pulls the lightsaber.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: Yeah, looking at these uh this vision now, Uh that
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: you that you brought it up. The one thing that
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: they didn't talk about in this entire series, And I
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: think it's more so because of there's a big possibility
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: that the first few issues didn't do well and that's
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: why they cut her off at ten. Yeah, is that
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: right there? Dark Side Yoda. Oh, Like they didn't talk
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: about that at all. I don't I don't remember them
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: talking about that at all. Yeah, but yeah, like they're
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: like there was a lot of promise with this, and
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: I think that sometimes just like how we were kind
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: of blue in the face with the idea of like
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: you just gotta let the process happen with movies and
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: kind of just like you know, go through the storm
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: of people just kind of shitting on it for a while.
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: Like do the same thing with Star Wars people. When
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: it comes to comics. Yeah, like like you will always
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: see people and some of them are big. It's still
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: get me wrong, some people will shot on Superman stories
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: or spider Man stories or Batman stories. Those are never
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: getting canceled, right Yep. Star Wars as a franchise is
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: going to be here a lot longer than we are
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: going to be on Earth. Yep. They should treat it
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: like that, just like how they treat Superman, spider Man
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: and Batman, and we just we don't. And I think
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: it's it's very frustrating sometimes because again I'm gonna say
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: it again until it's I'm blue in the face. This
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: showed a lot of promise. This was a really cool idea.
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: It just I don't think was executed in the best way.
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: Yeah. So, I think Guggenheim writes best when he has
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: a singular character to focus on, and there's just too
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: much going on in this one to really utilize his
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: writing skill.
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: Well, which I also think when you write in anthology.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: There should be a new writer with every story. Yes,
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: that's just that's just the way I see it. Like,
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: it makes it a little easier, a little cleaner. If
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: you want to do an overarching story, hey, Guggenheim can
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: do that entire story. Write it as individual issues, and
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: then you hire five other people to write individual stories, yep,
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: and make it like that.
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: Guggenheim writes it outline, everybody else comes in and tackles something.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: I think that's how it should have been taken care of.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: But I don't want to crap on this thing anymore
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: than we kind of have. But again, like we we
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: had a good time. We just thought it could be
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: better and there could be you know, maybe even potential
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: for the future. You know, hey, I think that Jedi
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: Knights could easily be a Marvel title that they say, Hey,
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: let's launch this every two years. Yeah, we'll do just
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: like how Star Wars was. Yeah, we'll do volume three
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: in twenty twenty seven. You know, yes, easy enough. But
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: of course, guys, that will be it for the episode.
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: Thank you so much for being here. This is gonna
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: be a little bit of a shorter episode because again,
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: don't know if I'm going to necessarily grab all of
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: the news segment that was from last week onto this episode,
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: So this might be anywhere between like I think, twenty
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: to thirty five minutes long. But yeah, I'm gonna go
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: ahead and do our shout outs for our socials, so
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: of course you can always find me at Fanboy Clay
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: over on Instagram and threads with y'all knowing officially that
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: I'm moving U. The really cool thing about that is
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: what I'm gonna be doing in Texas is basically a
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: full time job without having like a boss, so that's
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: gonna be interesting. But what it does mean is that
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: I have hopefully more time to actually put out content
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: for our socials, So of course you can find us
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: at Blue Sky and Instagram and on threads at Star
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: Wars Alliance. That is s T A R W R
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: s A L l I A n CE no A
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: in the War is very important, don't forget it, So
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: go check us out all on our socials. You'll be
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: seeing more of us in the July and then onward,
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: so that's gonna be a whole lot of fun. Go
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: check me out over at Ranger Alliance as well. Have
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: some cool things planned out over there. But yeah, Katie,
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: what about.
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: You, y'all? You can find me on most social media
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: platforms at Place of Katie And as always, if we
