  Warcraft that I'm playing currently but it does not

  transfer over. Yes, I guess you just got got

  like crazy for that. Like mail armor sort of thing.

  You're like oh, it'll play the same.

  No it Play to say no it doesn't know none of them answers aren't

  even. Yeah, none of it.

  None of it transfers over at all.

  Like the only thing that's the same is Storm strike and lava

  lash have the same kind of animations, little bit know they

  did read it animations they did was great because similarly okay

  so I went I went and I was like I'm going to play some of this

  wrath classic because I got the beta client on you know I gotta

  It is it is a little bit alarming to see how far it's

  come and a lot. Okay, here's the thing though,

  here's the thing, a lot of the original like armor models and

  stuff, they're still in the game and they're still just as fugly

  as they were. I agree with you because I was

  playing this week going around doing.

  Of course, my Mount hunting and one thing I got while attempting

  to get a mount was the dark Shaman said and this is like one

  of the rarest armor sets around. Only a slight chance of dropping

  for like one person in a in the raid and I got it, I'm like, oh
• 3:34
  finally, it's mine after all these years and let's not forget
• 3:37
  that it has More time since mr. Pandaria ended than from when it
• 3:44
  began, right? We're there at like nine years
• 3:49
  either way on this stretch. Wow.

  Yeah it just like oh yeah, they have come away in armors the set
• 3:58
  since then and so maybe we could get some redone versions of
• 4:03
  these but you know what? That dark Shaman armor still
• 4:05
  still still got it might be a little rough on the edges.

  But it's still got it. It's still slaps yet. 100%.

  And also screw you buddy. I want that armor.

  So bad. How many times have you gone

  into see? Trying to farm it?

  I don't have all the things I don't, I don't, I don't count

  the numbers. I do not say this was my yada

  yada attempt to get this, but I'm, I'm relatively certain that

  I have run Siege more times on my Shaman than you have on all

  of your shamans combined. In probably probably like a

  hundred percent guaranteed. That is, that is the truth.

  However, I know that you're going in for something

  completely different, not looking specifically for the the

  shaman set. So you're looking for Mom, the

  way it's all you know, is it is, I did I did spend a good chunk

  of time, I think, I think back in Legion, I think I think in

  Legion I was going through trying to trying to farm it out

  on one. My Shaman is for a couple of

  weeks, actually, a couple of weeks, maybe two or three,

  right? Gave up like me and farming.

  Old raids for cosmetic stuff is not like that's that's not a a
• 5:23
  priority to me like at all at any point in my history of
• 5:27
  playing this game. Has it ever been a priority to

  me? So it's something that like,

  while it fancies me while I have the energy to do it.

  I will participate. But if I don't I'm not gonna,

  I'm not gonna make myself do that.

  So yeah. It's something that I would like

  to get at some point maybe but it is very low down on the

  priority list. Okay?

  But let's talk about where your energy is because yes, playing a

  shaman going into Rath classic and you being leveling that up

  on the burning Crusade servers and you got your Shaman.

  That's now got a OTC in. Modern is that the character

  you're going to bring in? To dragonflight?

  It is very highly likely that that is the character that I'm
• 6:17
  bringing into dragonflight is measuring.

  All right? Well, we're going to have to

  have a little Shaman talk Sounder, just get that, get that

  going for soon, but soon T, I've got a lot of news to go through.

  So while I'm working on this Shaman talk Sounder, oh there

  Since we last sat down to record, one thing, that is

  another come back just like having live back on the shamans

  is a comeback is used to play a shaman and Legion and at other

  times as well. BlizzCon is making a return.

  According to an interview that Mike your Berra, had with the

  Verge, and this interview lightly, covered a number of

  topics, but this was the main Take away and that's good.

  And that's bad. First of all, live a, you hyped

  for a BlizzCon in 2023. I'm torn, I'm torn, I'm torn

  because you're gonna see not close covid world.

  You're not a disco ball Works. Ok.

  But OK, it will true, true. We're still in a covid will very
• 7:29
  much in a covid world. And maybe, maybe by then, by
• 7:34
  November 20, 23, we will be in a post covid-19.

  World kind of, but either way, that is, that is one concession

  that I have and the other major concession is that there has
• 7:46
  been a lot of controversy and not only controversy around
• 7:50
  blizzard and Activision as a whole, but specifically around

  BlizzCon. Like it is, it is important to

  remember that a lot of the terrible things that That the

  abusers that were employed by blizzard.

  Did we're at BlizzCon and we're facilitated by that event, so I

  for me to be comfortable in going to BlizzCon.

  I need, I need to know. I need to know that it's going

  to be a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

  Yeah. And a little bit of that was

  talked about in this interview, but it felt like only surface

  answers and no follow up on that.

  Like your bear is talking about like how they've made some

  changes and how more changes need to be done but there's no

  specifics about what they've done.

  There's no specifics about, like, what further they're going

  to do. Be and without any kind of like,

  you know, cemented or concrete examples or real tangible

  change. You get responses like the

  But if somebody in the know up until recently when she left for

  at all. Yes, there's the challenges that

  the u.s. and the world still feels with with covid and maybe

  it'll get better, maybe it won't be theirs.

  No way of telling, whether this will be the next Super spreader

  event or if it will be perfectly fine.

  Yes, there is incredible. Amount of gun violence being

  reported out of the US and everything that it entails.

  There's a lot of concerns in that.

  But like, the main thing is, do I want to give blizzard hundreds

  of dollars with no product that comes out of it, like, yeah,

  sure. I'll get a goodie bag and some

  stuff in an Where the last time there was a BlizzCon, personal

  friends of mine had horrible experiences and that was before

  was found out that the company itself, breathes, horrible

  experiences. And so that really put a just

  leaves a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths.

  And so I get that I there's so many people that I would love to

  see at BlizzCon. I finally got a chance for my
• 10:30
  birthday to see a couple of friends IRL.

  Some friends that I have seen before one friend that I hadn't

  met IRL before and I would love to do that at BlizzCon.

  Get out of here port and have like live just holding up the
• 10:48
  sign being like we're here for you Vinnie and I feel like yeah

  it'll be right out of the movies guys?

  Right out of the movies and the sun will push you out of the way

  and give me the biggest hug that I deserve and it will be awesome

  Yeah, but that, that's why I'm torn.

  That's ultimately why I'm torn because BlizzCon for me Isn't

  about going necessarily to celebrate blizzard products.

  Like it is an event put on. So that blizzard can, you know,

  commercially, you know, make aware to the world.

  What is happening inside the development of of their company
• 11:28
  to so they can showcase the work that the developers have been
• 11:31
  putting putting up for four. Is at that point by the time
• 11:36
  they get to announce that on the stages at BlizzCon.

  Like that is that is a part of it but it's not the main reason
• 11:42
  that I like going to BlizzCon. It's the people that that I
• 11:46
  don't get to see you often and haven't been able to see in over
• 11:50
  three years at this point because there hasn't been a
• 11:54
  BlizzCon since since 29 for ya since before covid and It is.

  It is endlessly agonizing that I have to make the moral judgment
• 12:08
  call to support a company that does not does not give the
• 12:19
  utmost confidence that I will be protected at an event that they
• 12:24
  throw a party that they put on because that's that's what
• 12:27
  BlizzCon is De partie. It's a place for people to go
• 12:30
  and celebrate together and If you don't feel comfortable at
• 12:34
  the party, you're going to have a bad time.

  And like, I don't want to say that, it's just like, obviously,
• 12:40
  it's meeting old friends that are maybe I have met before, or
• 12:44
  maybe have not met before in real life, but like, I don't
• 12:46
  want to Discount that going for the event itself.

  If I was there and they reveal the next expansion or they're
• 12:56
  revealing a new IP, remember we just had a lot of stuff come out
• 13:01
  about this unnamed. 50 game. And to be there, when they fully
• 13:06
  display that and to have the crowd react that that's
• 13:10
  electric. Have you ever been to a WWE
• 13:14
  event of Victor very few? But very few, not even.

  Not even WWE events. I've been 20 of those
• 13:23
  specifically but have been to very few like live sporting
• 13:26
  events in my life that I wasn't like in in the band in high
• 13:31
  school for it, right? Okay, well look like there's

  when you're like watching those events and you're watching on TV
• 13:41
  and it's like, oh this is cool. And if they knew you and your
• 13:43
  friends on the couch is like that's cool.

  And that and there's and there is when you're in the crowd and

  the crowd is electric, the crowd is electric and that that is why

  people get the quote unquote BlizzCon Blues when you're get
• 13:58
  to like meet with like, I don't know.

  Your favorite, the developer, or one of the people that you've

  been talking to online and it's like, finally you meet in person

  or like all of these little stubby, it's just like the first
• 14:18
  time I met mr. Garrett wines, Earl, IRL.

  It was just like, oh my God, his here adds another foot.

  This is insane. Um, And like whatever it's
• 14:36
  awesome the fan out, right? Just to just to be a fanboy or

  the fear, it would be a fangirl and these people that you've

  listened to and you've talked and you've like, listen to him
• 14:47
  talk and share all their like, stupid ideas and stuff, and
• 14:50
  actually meet them. And have a conversation.

  That is really awesome, and I want that.

  But yeah, it's a question of. But what's the cost, right, can

  this be done without Like, literally compromising people
• 15:10
  safety, so, yeah, I'm torn to, I hope that things can like,

  really kick into cleaning things up, and it'll be great.

  And, yes, this is going to happen after the merger, /

  buyout, or will have been completed because that would be
• 15:30
  June 2023. And then this would likely

  happen. Historically.

  It's been in November, like, October first week of November.

  Yeah right and this is a good opportunity for them to change

  that if they if they so chose because it like what you've what

  you've just said is important to note because like a couple of

  months prior to to win, BlizzCon would normally happen.

  That's when the merger goes through which means Microsoft is

  definitely going to want to have at least probably a little bit

  oversight into this event and make sure that this is
• 16:10
  happening. You think not?

  I would highly doubt that a company that is just acquired a

  company is going to be like okay first order of business, let's
• 16:24
  look at this convention, you're putting on a couple of months.

  No everything's fine. A pretty much finalized by Then

  there are more looking at the business aspects of what are we
• 16:33
  doing for your next year before we even see really?

  Any kind of impact from Microsoft sync, acquisition on a

  front-facing level on a back level.

  That's when you start seeing a like a lot of Shifting positions

  and such like that but in terms of like an event, so close to
• 16:52
  coming out where the tickets would have already been sold
• 16:56
  based on like events that they had already.

  We publicized know Microsoft isn't going to be messing with

  that. Yeah, I just don't know, I just

  don't know that they they wouldn't like it because they

  know the timeline. They know they couldn't have a

  family, they can't act before that merger comes through these

  very specifically are like we cannot be putting our fingers

  into the jar ahead of the merger and they already have.

  I hope people have been paying attention, as they already are
• 17:27
  being investigated for. Anti-monopoly.

  So they cannot be interfering with the company ahead of this,
• 17:33
  because it may not come to fruition.

  Yeah, that's true, that's true, important important things to

  think about. But either way, it is going to
• 17:45
  be an interesting BlizzCon, no matter what.

  Even if even, if I personally am not going to be there, if I

  decide not to go, I still obviously I'm going to be very
• 17:57
  very much. Following what comes out of that

  BlizzCon? You know, I'd just as a as a
• 18:05
  person that enjoys the games that they showcase at BlizzCon
• 18:10
  's and also as a content creator talking about one of their IPs.

  Yeah it is. It is always exciting and cool

  to see what gets talked about and just to try and parse out
• 18:27
  what What may be in store and you know, follow all the
• 18:31
  interviews and all that kind of stuff.

  So either way it's going to be something that I'm looking

  forward to whether I'm in person or not.

  I know like we said that this was a full interview and they

  had lightly touched on stuff and really confirming that BlizzCon
• 18:43
  was going to come back in 2023 was really the only new news out
• 18:48
  of this. A lot of this is rehashed or
• 18:51
  just getting your Bears take on on recent events but I do
• 18:55
  encourage people to read over this.

  notes but with that said, we also have some other stuff that

  was spotted. There has been a new build of

  the Dragon flight Alpha, put forward.

  And more than that, we have had jezz Cordon of Windows Central

  speculating from sources that they have that the alphas going
• 19:23
  to begin on July 14th. Now, that's a Thursday.

  So that seems a little strange. But even if it were to begin
• 19:30
  next Tuesday because typically Tuesdays, when things roll out,
• 19:34
  that means that they have 25 weeks until the end of the year.

  That's 25 weeks plus four days to the 31st or 179 days in
• 19:47
  total. Now, 139 days, whatever.

  But you're looking at five months and what they was being
• 19:57
  talked about, was an Alpha, not a beta and Alpha and that
• 20:02
  conversation we had a little while back was, like, how long
• 20:06
  is this going to be rushed based on that?

  And I'm like, well, people are talking about it like this, a

  beta, but we haven't seen an alpha.

  And now, it's very strongly being suggested that an alpha is
• 20:19
  coming, which means that there's going to be more time while
• 20:22
  they're developing and reiterating stuff in an alpha
• 20:25
  State before we get to a beta state.

  Yeah I hope that it's coming next week that to me is really
• 20:35
  we need to get on this that always be being my hope and for
• 20:39
  those people who have been saying like oh they don't have
• 20:43
  the complexity of borrowed power.

  I really want them to take the time that they would be fine,

  tune your board power system and using that to fine-tune
• 20:56
  reiterate In the typical Blizzard or the blizzard of old

  style and make it really shine because we can't have another

  game that falls off after the first couple of weeks once we've
• 21:11
  done leveling well. What now and this doesn't seem

  that fun and wholly agree because like just to, like to
• 21:20
  drive home, how little time 25 weeks, is just like what you had
• 21:25
  said, either either last episode of the episode before For that
• 21:30
  like we need like a minimum six weeks in Alpha Testing before we
• 21:37
  even get into a beta. So you're already cutting that
• 21:40
  down to nineteen weeks 19. Total to get it doesn't include
• 21:48
  that they time for pre-release stuff like the hey pre patch,
• 21:54
  here's some stuff. They usually have what two weeks
• 21:58
  little bit. So the beta the beta typically
• 22:01
  continues through through the that phase.

  Like once they once they have the the pre patch for the
• 22:10
  expansion because that hasn't tested separately in the PTR so

  they'll be like The bait is going on.

  There will be apt, our release of 10.0 that will be able to

  test. They'll get that stable, they'll
• 22:23
  release it and then we'll still be continuing through beta, but
• 22:26
  those systems. Yeah, all that needs to be
• 22:28
  tested through the data, right? Yeah.

  But how we go through, it also needs to be tested.

  So like yeah, you can do a PTR where you test the pre-release
• 22:39
  events except that you can't really because it needs to be on
• 22:44
  the new system typically. If you have the system thing, so

  it can't be tested. The pre-release events can't be
• 22:50
  tested. On PTR, they have to be tested
• 22:54
  on the beta and then yes while that's going you can be testing
• 22:58
  and making sure that there's other stuff fine-tuned that's
• 23:00
  why we get these .02 patches and such hmm.

  Right. Ray testing can also follow

  follow that and in a condensed way but the hard systems the
• 23:12
  professional revamp making sure dragon flying is there, make

  sure everything structurally put together.

  If we even get like with the Systems patch if they're like,

  hey if you have pre-ordered here's your chance to to do drag

  expansion that we don't have the access to the class before, the

  actual expansion hits, which means that they're covering

  their bases. Even you language looks like

  this is something we'd like to do.

  this week, they also dropped the Enter in Rogue talent trees as

  well. So we have we have three

  different new talent trees that, that were added to the bunch.

  Bringing us to a total of five out of the Thirteen classes that
• 25:36
  will be represented in dragonflight, of course, of
• 25:40
  course, evoker being the 13th. We're probably not going to see
• 25:44
  a preview for their talent tree because we don't have the
• 25:46
  context, is to what that's going into.

  We just know that we're going to Be getting a new class and we'll
• 25:53
  see it on the alpha and and beta.
• 25:56
  So I don't, I don't necessarily think that we're going to get a
• 25:59
  talent preview for that class until like, maybe maybe like a
• 26:03
  couple of weeks before lunch, but until then, we're still
• 26:07
  missing Demon Hunter Mage Paladin Warrior, monk Warlock,
• 26:10
  and Shaman. So there's still quite a few
• 26:13
  quite a few to get through and we're running out of time.

  Very quickly. Yeah, I think of certain point

  it's just going to be that we're going to be in a testable
• 26:28
  environment and it's going to be to the third-party sites to sort

  of look through it. And obviously the main site is

  just gonna be playing a bit of catch-up of like here here's

  playing them so I'm not like going super in depth into them

  like I'm going through and reading all of the new talents

  and trying to get it just a base understanding of what they're
• 27:48
  going for with each of these talent trees.

  Just just so that I at least know what is available because

  as a Raider and and someone that participates in the game I think

  it is important to understand how the whole game works.

  Not just your class. So on that front, I'm reading

  them through through that lens. So I'm interested because it is

  changes, it is it is something new and it's something different
• 28:18
  and I'm trying to just understand it.

  So That I can, you know, a understand it for its own sake

  and also be to provide feedback because this is this is in

  development very much in development.

  that one would expect from any hunter to be able to bring to

  But it's a lot of like various forms of crowd control.

  There's like a handful of what, what you would maybe consider

  DPS cooldowns or Are just like Mainstay, DPS abilities, that

  across the board, not just a hunter's but all of them like

  going to be towards the top of the tree and get more and more

  having to go for Four different CCS that are all incredibly

  relevant and so are quote, unquote mandatory.

  And that means that they're spread out, which means you're

  not just hitting those, you have to hit some prerequisites.

  equipment for those, those Adventures to then go out and

  explore more of the aisles. And the way that the crafting

  orders system setup is it it's like the auction house where you

  go to the, The Artisans Consortium and they bring up a,

  they bring up a pain when you interact with with one of them
• 44:55
  that allows you to search through.

  Crafting orders that people have posted or for you to post,

  crafting, orders yourself where you can say, I want this this

  and this you put in the orders, you put in the materials that

  you want to to craft the items with and then someone comes

  along after you've already posted your, your orders, and

  they can either choose to fulfill them or not.

  It's up to them, depending on how how worth it is.

  like, meaty substantive bit of information that we've got about

  the, the revamp coming but the professions are changing a
• 46:51
  little bit. So, Something that's going to be

  happening is that they are going to be adding effectively adding
• 46:59
  talents into the profession system.

  And so these are called profession.

  Specializations, you will have trees that are associated with
• 47:09
  your given professions you have chosen.

  They are not doing what I suggested a couple episodes ago

  and have been suggesting for a while and removing the Gathering

  professions from the the two slotted below profession slots.

  And making them available to everyone all the time.

  Like, like your first date or archaeology, they're not doing

  that. They're, they're sticking to

  their guns on it, which I had, I respect, I respect a little bit

  difference between sticking to your guns and just keeping it

  the way it is because that's what you believe in and doubling

  down by allowing specialization in gathering means that you will

  then you can focus on the crafting aspect because there is

  going to be a lot of cross, talk between the professions because

  you're going to have to get other materials that aren't

  going to be available from the other professions in order to

  craft these high-end pieces. But I'm getting ahead of myself

  even if you are somebody who's just like I don't really want to

  participate in this being a highly skilled gatherer and

  being able to put forward top-notch top quality materials

  is a way of distinguishing yourself yeah because of the

  specializations because you'll be able to have a talent tree
• 50:16
  that is available for each of the professions that you slot in
• 50:19
  and those talent trees will allow you to do things like Have
• 50:25
  a higher chance of getting better, better materials better
• 50:31
  quality materials or when you're creating the materials that
• 50:34
  other Crafters will then take to craft their equipment and gear.

  You have a higher chance of, you know, parking a higher quality
• 50:45
  material that you're then creating and it all kind of
• 50:49
  feeds upwards into itself. Like that's that's probably the
• 50:54
  The the best way that I can explain is that it all feeds up
• 50:57
  into into the system and there's not really ever any point, where
• 51:01
  your you spending a talent point deprives, you of something else.

  It's all getting yourself to a point where you're able to carve

  out a carve out a name for yourself and in the ecosystem,

  which I think is really good. I think that's that is something

  that is spectacular and They're doing a lot to allow Crafters to

  to do something unique with their crafting experience.

  That's going to be different from the crafting experience of
• 51:34
  everyone else around them. Well, the other big part of that

  for the specialization is that when you're actually learning
• 51:42
  your first profession, you learn all of your recipes in the early
• 51:47
  part of level of scaling up. So let's say it was like

  previous expansions and you have like that 120.

  E5 bar, you can get two or like, let's say it's a 150 bar just
• 51:59
  for easy math, right? Sure you can learn all of your
• 52:02
  professions in the first 75. And then the second 75 is you
• 52:08
  honing and mastering that profession by constantly
• 52:13
  Gathering. So, like actually leveling up
• 52:16
  and Skilling up isn't going to be a, I sit at the auction house
• 52:21
  and buy the materials and did your tutor.

  And then after that, Did. Now I'm ready to get into the
• 52:26
  market. You're going to be Skilling up.

  You're going to be getting better at your, craft throughout
• 52:33
  the expansion, using things like, work orders to be like,

  okay, I need to craft this, to get better at it.

  Let me go fill out some work orders for that.

  And that is amazing, because, like they said, in this, that

  means that things aren't going to get immediately devalued as

  all the cheap gems, get thrown out there because we need to,

  like, make 20 million of those to make the better quality gems.

  Because and something else of note is that the first half of

  the leveling experience for for you know, progressing your

  market and start being able to create these these pieces of

  That's wonderful because it's it is a system that keeps rewarding

  itself and something that, you know, touch on a little bit

  later there is going to be re-crafting.

  So any gear or equipment that you craft at a lower quality,

  can then be re-crafted later with with a couple more
• 53:44
  materials into a higher quality, some peace.

  So you can, you can craft for yourself.

  You can craft yourself like a something.

  To help get you started in crafting because they are

  introducing crafting Gear with stats, specific to Crafters of.

  to craft that piece for yourself at that low quality.

  So you can get your foot in the door and helped your help boost

  the the crafting process a little bit.

  And then once you have leveled up all the way you can then get

  some materials from either your guild, he's or, you know what

  have you and Take that material and then put it back into the

  pieces that you've already created to make them higher

  quality. So that you're not wasting

  anything, which was, you know, a common criticism of crafting and

  shadowlands has that you had to you know, dump through hundreds

  of hundreds of materials thousands of materials in order

  to level up your recipes. You don't have to do that

  anymore especially with the shadowlands legendaries.

  That's the biggest criticism but it's, it's more than that

  because you Make a bunch of let's say there's an enchantment

  that increases crafting through one of the stats that we'll talk

  about later. But increases one of the stats

  that we talk about later and the first version you make is going

  to be a lower one. Because you don't you're not

  able to do the top quality one that really gives the Big Boost.

  But somebody's going to grab that because like I need that so

  I can possibly make a better thing myself.

  So those will sell right first and then later on.

  You'll, you'll have filled out work orders, to do this cheap
