Latest / Scotty and Abby UNFILTERED / Scotty bumped into a GHOST at run club
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is Magia ninety four nine. Welcome
- 0:05Speaker 1: back to another episode of Scotty and Abby Unfiltered, And
- 0:07Speaker 1: it finally happened. We went and joined a cult. Cut
- 0:10Speaker 1: our wrist, signed our name and blood, and I think
- 0:12Speaker 1: we're officially part of run club for mfr's that don't run.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I just think when you march around Channel Side in
- 0:18Speaker 2: a group of one hundred horny twenty year olds, I
- 0:22Speaker 2: think I think we were initiated into the cult last.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Night, I think we were too. And you know what
- 0:27Speaker 1: I really like, though, is the founder, the dude that
- 0:30Speaker 1: we talked to la here. That dude welcomed us in
- 0:33Speaker 1: with like open arms, which was I thought so friendly
- 0:36Speaker 1: because he didn't have to. There's like three hundred people.
- 0:38Speaker 2: We literally begged him too on the podcast. He got
- 0:40Speaker 2: off the phone and we're like, Scotty and I want
- 0:42Speaker 2: to be a cool ca jetprink club. We want to
- 0:44Speaker 2: be cool with you have people den it and other people.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Let go that. I'm sure he listened and was like,
- 0:49Speaker 2: let me, let me be friends with these people, these
- 0:51Speaker 2: fucking losers.
- 0:52Speaker 1: But I actually felt very welcomed. And so if he
- 0:54Speaker 1: does listen to this or anybody from Run club, from
- 0:56Speaker 1: motherfuckers that don't run, y'all were very welcoming. I was surprised.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Were you surprised at how friendly everybody was?
- 1:02Speaker 2: Was I surprised how friendly? Yeah? Like, when people approached us,
- 1:04Speaker 2: I was like, oh my god, people have social skills.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, I think a lot of people are waiting
- 1:09Speaker 1: for that person to go first. Yeah, And that's a
- 1:11Speaker 1: skill that I've learned over the past couple of years,
- 1:13Speaker 1: is we're all nervous, We're all kind of a little
- 1:16Speaker 1: socially awkward, a little socially anxious. Social media doesn't help,
- 1:20Speaker 1: and so when you go first, you open it up
- 1:23Speaker 1: for everyone else to say, wait a second, I've been
- 1:25Speaker 1: waiting for somebody to talk to me. And that was
- 1:27Speaker 1: kind of when we walked in. There's a couple people
- 1:30Speaker 1: that I noticed standing there alone, and I was like, well,
- 1:32Speaker 1: might as well make sure that they feel seen too,
- 1:35Speaker 1: because isn't that the worst going out to an event
- 1:37Speaker 1: where you just feel like, I don't know anyone, I'm alone,
- 1:40Speaker 1: I don't know how to approach somebody I know.
- 1:41Speaker 2: But I'm like, it's scary putting yourself out there because
- 1:45Speaker 2: you don't know how people are going to respond? Is
- 1:47Speaker 2: there were a couple of girls that I thought, oh,
- 1:48Speaker 2: I could probably go up and say something to them
- 1:50Speaker 2: and say hi. But then I'm like, what if I
- 1:52Speaker 2: say hey, are you here by yourself? And they go no,
- 1:54Speaker 2: and they just turn around and then they just go
- 1:56Speaker 2: screw you.
- 1:56Speaker 1: They're like, get away from me. Where now? I think
- 1:59Speaker 1: that's our head though, head's telling us this like fake narrative,
- 2:01Speaker 1: But like, when has that ever happened?
- 2:04Speaker 2: It's happened?
- 2:05Speaker 1: Has it?
- 2:05Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 2:06Speaker 1: When has it happened? I don't know, like how long ago?
- 2:08Speaker 2: I mean, I need to recount every detail.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna be your therapist in this podcast.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Well in twenty nineteen, Yeah.
- 2:15Speaker 1: You approached a group and they turned their back.
- 2:17Speaker 2: And they were like nope.
- 2:18Speaker 1: But literally I was just talking on another podcast yesterday
- 2:20Speaker 1: and we're talking about fear. But I know we all
- 2:22Speaker 1: have that fear of like we're gonna say something, We're
- 2:24Speaker 1: gonna be rejected, We're gonna look stupid. And what I've decided,
- 2:28Speaker 1: especially like yesterday, as I'm walking up to random people,
- 2:30Speaker 1: I'm like, you know, if I go off of evidence
- 2:33Speaker 1: only a few times, has it been truly awkward? And
- 2:36Speaker 1: has someone made me feel like I'm quote unquote less then,
- 2:40Speaker 1: and then I now I feel like I'm just We're
- 2:41Speaker 1: old enough to know if somebody's gonna make us feel less,
- 2:43Speaker 1: then that's a them problem instead of us feeling less,
- 2:47Speaker 1: It's like, what is wrong with you?
- 2:48Speaker 2: Yeah? All I said is a high Scotty. Some of
- 2:50Speaker 2: us grew up with self esteem issues.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I did big ones.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Some of us didn't recover from those self esteem issues.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Scotty, Well, did it help yesterday to like reclaim? Like, okay,
- 2:59Speaker 1: does it make you want to do it again?
- 3:01Speaker 2: Yeah? I would go back. I think just because there
- 3:04Speaker 2: were a couple of instances where we were approached and
- 3:06Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, okay, so people are comfortable having conversations
- 3:10Speaker 2: with randos here, Like it's not like one of those
- 3:12Speaker 2: places where they're like putting their head down. And I
- 3:15Speaker 2: think you can kind of tell there's this vibe in
- 3:17Speaker 2: the air that everybody wants to have some kind of interaction.
- 3:20Speaker 2: I saw a couple of people try and jump into
- 3:22Speaker 2: some of our conversations and then got scared and then
- 3:24Speaker 2: they're like backed away.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Yeah, and then I was like, it's come back, come back,
- 3:28Speaker 1: come back. It's like Jack Rose on the door. Yeah,
- 3:32Speaker 1: but I think a lot of people were a lot
- 3:34Speaker 1: friendlier than I anticipated, because I think when you walk
- 3:37Speaker 1: up on a group like that, it's okay. Just we
- 3:40Speaker 1: walk up. It's a place called Sparkman Wharf. It's very nice,
- 3:42Speaker 1: a little like restaurants and lighting and a big bar.
- 3:45Speaker 1: And we get there, and here's where it gets a
- 3:47Speaker 1: little socially anxious for me. I'm like, everyone already has
- 3:50Speaker 1: their group. Everyone has a little circle that they're talking to.
- 3:52Speaker 1: They already have a drink, and so the thought that
- 3:55Speaker 1: I start going through my head is like, how do
- 3:56Speaker 1: I get myself into that group. I'm like, they already
- 3:59Speaker 1: have a conversation. I have to find like a step
- 4:01Speaker 1: to jump in. But instead I'm like, wait, you know what,
- 4:04Speaker 1: Screw that. I'm gonna go find the people that are
- 4:06Speaker 1: either two or one and I'll start a conversation with
- 4:09Speaker 1: them and I'll grow my own group. Because I think
- 4:11Speaker 1: that was where it would get awkward, Like if we
- 4:13Speaker 1: walked up in that first group, this is all having
- 4:14Speaker 1: a drink, Like, oh hey, guys stopping their mid conversation.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Then it becomes awkward. Yeah, just to introduce yourself to
- 4:21Speaker 1: a group that probably knows each other, and what's good
- 4:23Speaker 1: is like the second time if we do it. Well,
- 4:25Speaker 1: now we already know some people, so it's like, let's see, Abby,
- 4:29Speaker 1: do you remember any of the names of the people
- 4:30Speaker 1: that we met yesterday?
- 4:31Speaker 2: Yes, we met Matt. We met Mark, Matt the Jim owner,
- 4:37Speaker 2: Jim owner, Matt. See you don't even remember the names?
- 4:39Speaker 1: Wait a Seuton. Oh yeah, yeah, I remember Matt because
- 4:41Speaker 1: we follow him on Instagram.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Yeh, we met Jim un or Matt.
- 4:44Speaker 1: There you go.
- 4:45Speaker 2: We met with a shirt off. You said hi to
- 4:48Speaker 2: somebody when we first got there, Daniel, Daniel. I didn't
- 4:50Speaker 2: remember Daniel's name. We met Daniel. We met Rusty.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Who's Rusty?
- 4:57Speaker 2: See you don't even know the people's names. Rusty is
- 4:59Speaker 2: the second in command.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Oh that's right, yeah, I saw him getting a See
- 5:01Speaker 1: dare you forget Rusty? Okay, well, actually I have never
- 5:04Speaker 1: actually formally introduced myself to Rusty.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Rusty interviewed us for the postgame interview.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I know, but it was kind of like it's that
- 5:10Speaker 1: moment when you already feel like you know someone and
- 5:12Speaker 1: so you don't have to do the whole thing like, oh, hey,
- 5:13Speaker 1: I'm Scott, and then I get their name because did
- 5:16Speaker 1: you notice. I'm curious on what you noticed about my
- 5:18Speaker 1: social interactions because I do things very deliberately when I'm
- 5:21Speaker 1: meeting someone, so I remember things.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Here's Scott. For those of you who weren't there, which
- 5:25Speaker 2: is everybody unless you were at the Run Club, come
- 5:28Speaker 2: with the Run Club with us right now. So me
- 5:30Speaker 2: and Scotty show up to Run Club. It's at Lighthouse Brewery,
- 5:33Speaker 2: which is in Sparkman Wharf, which nobody has told me about.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Sparkman Worf so cute.
- 5:38Speaker 2: It string lights, outdoor food vendors, restaurants. It's in Channel Side, Very,
- 5:43Speaker 2: which is my favorite area of Tampa because I'm basic.
- 5:47Speaker 2: And we roll up and there's this massive group of
- 5:50Speaker 2: people already there. It's six fifty five and we're early,
- 5:53Speaker 2: and there's probably seventy five to one hundred people there,
- 5:56Speaker 2: all in a group. And then Scott's got this like
- 5:59Speaker 2: big ass grin on his face. He's like, I love people.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I love waking up in the morning, I love oxygen.
- 6:05Speaker 2: I'm wearing my fathletics outfit from Kate Hudson thing I
- 6:09Speaker 2: look so good. Thank you, Kate Hudson. I love you
- 6:11Speaker 2: for this outfit.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Kate Hudson, where are my fathletics right now too?
- 6:14Speaker 2: I know we're walking and Scott kind of gets like
- 6:16Speaker 2: this shoulder thing that he does where he it's almost
- 6:19Speaker 2: like your shoulders expand by two inches?
- 6:21Speaker 1: Do they really? Okay? I didn't know that. I don't
- 6:23Speaker 1: do that deliberately.
- 6:24Speaker 2: You didn't know if it was like a deliberate thing
- 6:25Speaker 2: where you're trying to appear you're like peacockingcocking. And then
- 6:29Speaker 2: when you approach men, this is what men do. Men
- 6:32Speaker 2: always put their hand out sort of like they're about
- 6:36Speaker 2: to give you a side hug, and then you bring
- 6:38Speaker 2: in your hand to the other guy and your hands
- 6:42Speaker 2: meet in the middle and you do the the clasp.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Oh we dap up, you dap up. Yeah, yeah, you
- 6:48Speaker 1: gotta get good of the dap up. I think it's
- 6:50Speaker 1: dope and a girl DAPs me up.
- 6:51Speaker 2: The thing is, girls don't do that. That's not a
- 6:53Speaker 2: part of girl culture. Girl culture is Oh my god,
- 6:56Speaker 2: I love your outfit.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I know there's a moment yesterday made me feel so
- 6:58Speaker 1: silly for giving girls a hand shake. You're like, I
- 7:01Speaker 1: don't know, that's weird. I was like, what the fuck?
- 7:02Speaker 2: Yeah, he's shaking girl's hands. So there's this girl myself.
- 7:07Speaker 2: It's not a business meeting, it's run club slash talk club.
- 7:10Speaker 2: So anyway, we see this group of two girls. One
- 7:13Speaker 2: of them has a dog. Let me actually tell you
- 7:15Speaker 2: whatsit out because I'm just a socially awkward human. So
- 7:20Speaker 2: we approached these two girls. One of them yeah, yeah,
- 7:23Speaker 2: you know what about today because I have a really
- 7:26Speaker 2: dark sense of humor, and this girl just I thought
- 7:29Speaker 2: she wanted nothing to do with us until we tried
- 7:31Speaker 2: to leave. And this was a common pattern. Scotty and
- 7:33Speaker 2: I would try and leave these conversations so it didn't
- 7:35Speaker 2: look like we were cornering people, and then people would
- 7:37Speaker 2: be like and continue the conversation because then they realized, oh,
- 7:41Speaker 2: I don't want to be alone at this run club anymore.
- 7:44Speaker 2: It was nice having people come up to us for
- 7:46Speaker 2: a second. So anyway back to these two girls. These
- 7:48Speaker 2: two girls are there, Scotty's like, I'm gonna approach them,
- 7:51Speaker 2: and I said, no, these are girls. This is my turn.
- 7:53Speaker 2: So I roll up to this one girl. She has
- 7:56Speaker 2: this little black furry dog maybe seven pounds, seven eight pounds,
- 8:01Speaker 2: and I go, can I pet your dog? And she goes, yeah, yeah.
- 8:05Speaker 2: So I get down and I start petting the dog
- 8:07Speaker 2: super cute, and I go, oh my god, what's your
- 8:10Speaker 2: dog's name? And she goes Leo, and I go, ah,
- 8:14Speaker 2: I had a dog named Leo. He died a couple
- 8:19Speaker 2: months ago.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Oh my god. It's like, where do you even go
- 8:21Speaker 1: with that conversation?
- 8:23Speaker 2: I thought she was gonna kind of laugh it off
- 8:24Speaker 2: because I was clearly trying to make a dark joke,
- 8:26Speaker 2: like I had a dog named Leo he died, because
- 8:29Speaker 2: it's like a really sad thing, and she just kind
- 8:31Speaker 2: of was like, Okay, I don't know what to do
- 8:34Speaker 2: with that. So then anyway, we tried and we tried
- 8:37Speaker 2: to be entertaining for five minutes and then.
- 8:39Speaker 1: We were Yeah. I would say we did a good job.
- 8:42Speaker 2: I thought.
- 8:42Speaker 1: What was so funny is like I took another angle
- 8:44Speaker 1: of meeting these two people. So you walked up on
- 8:46Speaker 1: one side and I accidentally walked behind him and came up.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Oh yeah, we attacked the most from all angles. I'm like,
- 8:52Speaker 2: my dog's dead. And then Scotty comes on.
- 8:54Speaker 1: From the other side.
- 8:55Speaker 2: I go, let me shake your head after this old
- 8:59Speaker 2: sign a booze.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Well, you know, what they're now endorsing us, So you're welcome.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Leo the Dog is our biggest sponsor on the podcast.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Dog Leo was ten. I was like, Lee's about to
- 9:08Speaker 2: join other Leo.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Leo might be listening right now. Probably alright, p you're Leo.
- 9:15Speaker 2: So then anyway, so Scott introduces himself to the ladies.
- 9:18Speaker 2: It's you know, Girl one and girl too, and then
- 9:20Speaker 2: he shakes their hand, and then I introduced myself. I'm like, oh,
- 9:22Speaker 2: I'm Abby, Hey Girl one, Hey Girl too. I'm not
- 9:25Speaker 2: gonna shake your hand.
- 9:26Speaker 1: That's weird. Way to make me feel so weird. You're like, oh,
- 9:28Speaker 1: that guy's a weirdo. I don't know who he is.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Yeah, that's my sense of humor is anti humor, like
- 9:35Speaker 2: to shake your hand.
- 9:35Speaker 1: I was like, that's fine. I could handle him. Yeah,
- 9:37Speaker 1: I could be poked.
- 9:38Speaker 2: So yeah, So then we start run club and then
- 9:43Speaker 2: we didn't talk to anybody while we were walking. It
- 9:45Speaker 2: was just me and you catching up and gabbing, and
- 9:47Speaker 2: I made notes on things that you brought up on
- 9:50Speaker 2: our walk that I was like, this is really good
- 9:52Speaker 2: podcast content. We simply cannot talk about it right now.
- 9:55Speaker 2: I know.
- 9:56Speaker 1: It was a nice walk I mean we'll get to
- 9:57Speaker 1: I'm serious on your notes. I think with the club
- 10:00Speaker 1: because La was talking to us, the founder of like
- 10:03Speaker 1: what could they do better? And I think the one
- 10:05Speaker 1: thing was, you know, when you're walking, it was so
- 10:08Speaker 1: narrow that path that there was nobody to talk to.
- 10:11Speaker 1: And I thought about there's girls behind us that I
- 10:13Speaker 1: was like, if I hear something, I could pop in.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I could turn and start a conversation with them. But
- 10:19Speaker 1: then it just feels weird. Now I'm looking backwards and
- 10:21Speaker 1: I'm walking forwards, and I'm going to walk into a pole.
- 10:24Speaker 2: So we get at the hands. What do you suggest.
- 10:26Speaker 1: It's just it's harder when it's that narrow walkway because
- 10:29Speaker 1: then you literally only get to talk to that person.
- 10:31Speaker 1: We didn't get see if you notice, when we got
- 10:33Speaker 1: to the stop light, we finally all kind of spread
- 10:36Speaker 1: out a little bit and that's where you could start
- 10:38Speaker 1: new conversations. That's where we met Jim owner Matt. I
- 10:40Speaker 1: was like, because we walked up because there's more room
- 10:42Speaker 1: to be like, oh, I can make eye contact, I
- 10:44Speaker 1: could look you know.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Wait, that's actually so true because there was a point
- 10:48Speaker 2: where the guys in front of us at one point
- 10:50Speaker 2: one of them kind of turned around when I made
- 10:52Speaker 2: a cult joke. Did you see that? It was like
- 10:54Speaker 2: towards the end, somebody was like, what are you guys doing?
- 10:56Speaker 2: And we're like, it's run club. But I think I said,
- 10:58Speaker 2: call it's what we are. It's a cult. And the
- 11:00Speaker 2: guy turns around and go and he tried to make
- 11:02Speaker 2: a joke back, but then got nervous, and.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Then I gave up halfway through.
- 11:07Speaker 2: He didn't commit to the bit, and I was like, dude,
- 11:10Speaker 2: I would have been. I was specifically talking loud. So
- 11:13Speaker 2: that was the thing. So we're walking around Channel Side.
- 11:15Speaker 2: We're all marching around.
- 11:16Speaker 1: That's the part that felt like a long line of
- 11:20Speaker 1: people marching around Harbor Island and Channel Side.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Think that's why I joke. Because I was joking. I'm like, oh,
- 11:25Speaker 2: it's the cool, it's the cold. And then we were
- 11:26Speaker 2: walking and marching around Channel Side, just in one long line.
- 11:29Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, this is giving cold anyway. So we're
- 11:33Speaker 2: walking and me and Scotty are having this very lively
- 11:36Speaker 2: discussion in conversation and I was specifically upping my octave
- 11:40Speaker 2: just a little bit because I could tell we were
- 11:42Speaker 2: getting eaves dropped on oh yeah, which is a good
- 11:45Speaker 2: thing to do, because I was specifically trying to say,
- 11:47Speaker 2: like I was trying to drop a couple of things.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I was trying to talk about how we weren't dating that.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Yes, I know, what was the one thing that you
- 11:53Speaker 1: said that was so, oh, okay, we'll get to the
- 11:55Speaker 1: jewelry girl. Oh yeah.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Yeah. I was like, I was like, this is I
- 11:57Speaker 2: wanted to make sure I dropped him, like this is
- 12:00Speaker 2: not my boyfriend, because I think guys get really intimidated
- 12:03Speaker 2: approaching women that they think are with their boyfriend. Oh yeah,
- 12:06Speaker 2: And so I'm like, oh, these girls that you're dating
- 12:09Speaker 2: that aren't me.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Yeah. I found that with a couple guys that we
- 12:13Speaker 1: were talking to, and they would like look at you,
- 12:16Speaker 1: but then look right back at me, as if they
- 12:18Speaker 1: didn't want to offend me.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Uh huh.
- 12:19Speaker 1: But I didn't know how to like subtly drop that. Hey, nope,
- 12:23Speaker 1: like just friends out at run club.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Okay, let's get to are you talking about shirtless? Okay,
- 12:28Speaker 2: we'll get to shirtless in a second. Wait, what were
- 12:30Speaker 2: we talking about before?
- 12:31Speaker 1: I was I had a point to this, making your
- 12:32Speaker 1: octave higher so other people could eat drop.
- 12:34Speaker 2: So I was trying to make my octave a little
- 12:36Speaker 2: bit louder so people could hear it. I don't even
- 12:37Speaker 2: know if that's right. I was trying to make my
- 12:39Speaker 2: decibels louder.
- 12:40Speaker 1: So you could hear volume.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Yeah, my volume, I was up in. My volume didn't work.
- 12:43Speaker 2: But then we got to a point where we can
- 12:45Speaker 2: kind of spread out at a crosswalk, and that's when
- 12:47Speaker 2: we bumped into a guy named Mart Matt Jim and
- 12:50Speaker 2: or Matt. Super nice because he kind of just bumped
- 12:53Speaker 2: into our conversation for a second.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Well, it was nice, as I noticed. And again everyone
- 12:57Speaker 1: thinks I'm like so good in social interactions. I'm just
- 13:00Speaker 1: paying attention constantly because I'm anxious too.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:02Speaker 1: So as I'm looking around and we walked up, I'm
- 13:04Speaker 1: looking at people to see who's gonna connect. And I
- 13:07Speaker 1: looked at Matt and he gave me a nice, warm smile, like, go,
- 13:10Speaker 1: what's up. I was like, that dude's cool.
- 13:12Speaker 2: I'm going in.
- 13:12Speaker 1: I'm going in literally, like that was my thought. I
- 13:14Speaker 1: was like, I could start a conversation with that guy.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Seems super nice, seems super friendly, seems super welcoming. And
- 13:19Speaker 1: so that's how that conversation started. Because I was like, Oh,
- 13:21Speaker 1: that guy's dope, let's start this conversation. But it only
- 13:24Speaker 1: happened because we had more space to get alongside other
- 13:27Speaker 1: people instead of like a march formation, which that's not
- 13:29Speaker 1: the run Club's fault, that's just Tampa's fault.
- 13:31Speaker 2: It's just Tampa. And also, you know, there's only really
- 13:33Speaker 2: so much you can do. I think you just have
- 13:36Speaker 2: to be very intentional, but intentional intentional about saying hi
- 13:40Speaker 2: to people. Yes, And it's so funny. I was laughing
- 13:42Speaker 2: at myself how we all show up to these events
- 13:44Speaker 2: because we want to be social, and then the second
- 13:46Speaker 2: we get there, we go I don't want to be social.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Yeah, well you're hoping that somebody else goes first.
- 13:50Speaker 2: You're hoping that somebody else is going to be social
- 13:51Speaker 2: for you.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Yeah, Like it would be awesome if there is a
- 13:54Speaker 1: group that just opens up, Like that's what I love.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Being in a group that opens up. Yes, Like if
- 13:59Speaker 1: if we're talking to four people, I mean you'll see
- 14:01Speaker 1: this every time we're out and about. I will always
- 14:03Speaker 1: if I noticed somebody behind us, I will open the group. Yeah,
- 14:06Speaker 1: and I will literally bring them in because I hate
- 14:08Speaker 1: being the person on the outside. Of the group, just
- 14:09Speaker 1: waiting to be welcomed. I know that feeling sucks.
- 14:11Speaker 2: I think if we went again, I would feel more
- 14:14Speaker 2: comfortable saying hi to people now. I think the first
- 14:16Speaker 2: time it's scary because you're like, what's going on, I've
- 14:18Speaker 2: never done this before, Whereas if you go second time around,
- 14:20Speaker 2: you go okay, everyone is looking around for somebody else
- 14:24Speaker 2: to go first. Yes, just go be the first thing
- 14:26Speaker 2: that goes first. And I think the people that show
- 14:28Speaker 2: up by themselves are the easiest people to do that
- 14:30Speaker 2: for because you're not gonna get like rejected by a group.
- 14:32Speaker 2: You can go, hey, yeah, gore by yourself.
- 14:34Speaker 1: It would be so fucked though somebody rejected you, like
- 14:38Speaker 1: I Just that's the thought I go through my head.
- 14:39Speaker 1: I'm like, if I walk up, yeah and you all
- 14:42Speaker 1: bully me, well fuck you?
- 14:45Speaker 2: Well, I mean I got bullied last oh talking about
- 14:49Speaker 2: worst nightmare. We'll get that messcond We'll go back, I promise.
- 14:52Speaker 2: But rejection doesn't look like how you think it's gonna
- 14:55Speaker 2: look like. People aren't gonna be aren't gonna say get
- 14:58Speaker 2: away loser, neude. It'll just be a nuncomfort. It's a feeling,
- 15:03Speaker 2: it's a feeling of rejection, not necessarily an outward get
- 15:06Speaker 2: away from us, which I think is what people are
- 15:08Speaker 2: afraid of.
- 15:08Speaker 1: And what's so nice and I think, I think what's
- 15:10Speaker 1: cool about this conversation is because there might be something
- 15:13Speaker 1: that you want to try, or you want to go
- 15:15Speaker 1: check out a class that you want to sign up for.
- 15:17Speaker 1: And what I've learned is I came back home yesterday
- 15:20Speaker 1: so charged and excited from getting that first one out
- 15:23Speaker 1: of the way. I know we probably had disreact.
- 15:25Speaker 2: He's like, I love that. I was like doing crack okay,
- 15:28Speaker 2: all those people, all those small chalk conversations, and I'm like,
- 15:31Speaker 2: I'm just afraid that I looked weird or I stood
- 15:35Speaker 2: weird and someone took a photo and now I'm getting
- 15:37Speaker 2: made fun of on the internet.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Well, now we got those initial jitters out of the way.
- 15:41Speaker 1: And what I love is that if we were to
- 15:43Speaker 1: go back, we already have five people that we know
- 15:44Speaker 1: we do. So it's like, okay, now that's where the
- 15:46Speaker 1: group starts. And then you go back three times and
- 15:48Speaker 1: you're like, okay, that group grown to ten fifteen. Now
- 15:52Speaker 1: it's like you walk it into your community every week.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Now it's not so nervous, but it just takes that
- 15:57Speaker 1: first time to just rip the band it off and
- 15:59Speaker 1: be like, you know what. That's what I reflected on
- 16:01Speaker 1: on the drive home. Yesh I was like, that wasn't
- 16:03Speaker 1: that bad at all? Yeah, it was actually really cool
- 16:06Speaker 1: and really easy. And if you really don't want to socialize,
- 16:08Speaker 1: at least you still got your steps in. But I
- 16:10Speaker 1: think we all want to have friends, we all want
- 16:12Speaker 1: to have community.
- 16:13Speaker 2: I got like fifteen thousand steps just right, let's check.
- 16:15Speaker 1: That's a lot.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Well, because I also walked from di to Sparkman Wharf.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Kind of a great walk. By the way.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I have learned that when you're just walking or just
- 16:22Speaker 1: when you're going in any interaction, I'm telling you, just
- 16:24Speaker 1: say hi to somebody random, and I think majority, i'd
- 16:28Speaker 1: say seven out of ten with my interactions have been
- 16:30Speaker 1: very warm because somebody like you see somebody light up,
- 16:33Speaker 1: you say, oh, how are you and they're like, oh,
- 16:35Speaker 1: oh my god.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Here's the other difference.
- 16:38Speaker 3: So good.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Here's the other difference that I noticed because men were
- 16:40Speaker 2: coming up to Scotty left and right, and so I
- 16:43Speaker 2: don't know if it's a woman thing or if it's
- 16:45Speaker 2: a scotty thing. Or if it's a man thing, is
- 16:47Speaker 2: it a man thing, is it a woman thing? Or
- 16:48Speaker 2: is it a Scotti thing? Because guys were just coming
- 16:50Speaker 2: up casually dapping you.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Up, so that was true.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I'm like, do girls need something where you can do
- 16:56Speaker 2: like a casual dap up, not a dap up, but
- 16:58Speaker 2: a dap up adjacent?
- 16:59Speaker 1: Y'all's a is that you compliment each other's outfits.
- 17:01Speaker 2: That's actually so true.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I've noticed that so many times, like, oh my god,
- 17:05Speaker 1: cute set, that's the initial Like I want to say hello,
- 17:09Speaker 1: but I don't want to be weird and say hello,
- 17:10Speaker 1: and then you'd be like hello, and I don't know
- 17:12Speaker 1: what to say back.
- 17:12Speaker 2: That's so true.
- 17:13Speaker 1: So instead it's like where do you just said from? All?
- 17:16Speaker 1: Or what is it called?
- 17:16Speaker 2: All? So yeah, we're walking around and Scotty's just getting
- 17:19Speaker 2: wapped up left and right, and I'm thinking, oh my god,
- 17:22Speaker 2: this is so great. We already have friends here, Scotty
- 17:25Speaker 2: knows everybody, anybody. You didn't know a single person. And
- 17:27Speaker 2: then because can I talk about the can I talk about.
- 17:30Speaker 1: The what is that? Oh? You know what? Yeah? I
- 17:36Speaker 1: think it's fine, Yeah, you know what?
- 17:37Speaker 2: Fuck it?
- 17:37Speaker 1: I don't care ye Okay. I think it's funny. And
- 17:39Speaker 1: if they hear this, we could talk about it because
- 17:42Speaker 1: maybe I misinterpreted.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Okay, that's fine, this is what we need to talk about.
- 17:45Speaker 2: So about a minute into our walk, I got so
- 17:48Speaker 2: excited because a girl started talking to us, and I thought,
- 17:51Speaker 2: this is so great. This seems like such a cool girl.
- 17:55Speaker 2: I'm so glad that Scotty knows this girl. This is
- 17:59Speaker 2: this is this is so cool. I love that we
- 18:01Speaker 2: already have friends. I didn't even have to try that hard.
- 18:04Speaker 2: So this girl approaches us. We're literally leaving Sparkman Wharf.
- 18:08Speaker 2: She's got this cute ass Wiener dog, and we're all
- 18:11Speaker 2: riffing about her Wiener. We're making Wiener jokes. It's very fine.
- 18:13Speaker 2: It's my type of humor.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Is great.
- 18:15Speaker 2: She was very friendly, she's talking to you. I'm like,
- 18:16Speaker 2: oh my god, Scotty and this girl know each other.
- 18:18Speaker 2: So then she leaves about two minutes into the walk,
- 18:20Speaker 2: and I go, oh, our friend, where'd she go? So
- 18:24Speaker 2: she leaves and I go, Scotty, how do you know
- 18:26Speaker 2: that girl?
- 18:27Speaker 1: Well, okay, first off, dog, you.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Let me finish. Okay, So I go, Scottie, how do
- 18:33Speaker 2: you know this girl? And he goes, well, you know,
- 18:36Speaker 2: and I'm like, no, I don't know, and he's staring
- 18:38Speaker 2: at me. He's like, we've talked about her before. I'm like,
- 18:40Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know who that girl is.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Sorry to this woman, don't know who she is. So
- 18:48Speaker 2: he goes, we've talked about her on the podcast before,
- 18:51Speaker 2: and I was like, we have, and I'm like, did
- 18:54Speaker 2: you date her? And she he's like, do you remember
- 18:56Speaker 2: that story I told you where a listener DMed me
- 18:59Speaker 2: and asked me out and we went on a walk
- 19:00Speaker 2: and then I never heard from her again. That was
- 19:03Speaker 2: her And I'm like, that was her.
- 19:08Speaker 1: I told you she was pretty and he.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Well, yeah, no, no, it wasn't like a wasn't a
- 19:11Speaker 2: looks joke. It was more of like she ghosted you
- 19:14Speaker 2: and then didn't avoid you at run club.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Well, it was a moment where I Okay, so there's
- 19:20Speaker 1: this thought in my head that I got ghosted. It's
- 19:23Speaker 1: probably it's probably not true. And so she listens to this,
- 19:25Speaker 1: she's gonna be like, what we what else was there
- 19:28Speaker 1: to talk about? Understandable? It was just kind of funny
- 19:31Speaker 1: for my head of like going from conversation going on
- 19:33Speaker 1: a nice walk, felt like it flowed really well. Probably
- 19:36Speaker 1: wasn't looking for anything serious, but then literally nothing after that. Yeah,
- 19:39Speaker 1: the way it happened yesterday, and I had a feeling
- 19:42Speaker 1: that was gonna happen because I had a feeling. They
- 19:43Speaker 1: go to this run club and so we start walking
- 19:46Speaker 1: and immediately I looked to my left boom. She looks
- 19:49Speaker 1: over boom, and we both have a moment that's like, oh,
- 19:55Speaker 1: so she might not find it awkward at all. I'm
- 19:59Speaker 1: over here, like.
- 20:00Speaker 2: It didn't seem awkward.
- 20:01Speaker 1: It was, and she's a super warm and friendly person.
- 20:03Speaker 2: That's what I mean is it didn't even cross my
- 20:05Speaker 2: mind that this was an ex no of some sort,
- 20:08Speaker 2: you know, an ex adjacent type person, because it was
- 20:11Speaker 2: so warm and so friendly. She seems so cool and
- 20:13Speaker 2: so fun, and I'm like, oh my god, we are friends.
- 20:15Speaker 1: This is we're friends, Scottie are still friends. I'm just
- 20:17Speaker 1: kind of there's just nothing to talk about left on Instagram.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Probably, So then Scotty and I were like, okay, well
- 20:22Speaker 2: if she because you guys were talking and then all
- 20:24Speaker 2: of a sudden you weren't talking after the date. So
- 20:25Speaker 2: Scotty's like I got ghosted, So then I'm like, well,
- 20:29Speaker 2: did she just want to meet you because she's a
- 20:31Speaker 2: fan of the show, and maybe you thought it was
- 20:32Speaker 2: a date because she was a pretty girl.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Possibly, yeah, I would say, because it felt very warm,
- 20:38Speaker 1: and I was also what I was doing is I
- 20:41Speaker 1: was just I'm not practicing is not the right word,
- 20:43Speaker 1: but I was trying to find the courage. When I
- 20:45Speaker 1: think there's something going, I want to just act on it.
- 20:48Speaker 1: And so we were having good conversations and I was like, Evan,
- 20:50Speaker 1: I'm gonna shoot my shot. We should go and you know,
- 20:53Speaker 1: do a walk together. And it was an awesome walk.
- 20:55Speaker 1: So that's the part that kind of threw me. It
- 20:56Speaker 1: probably wasn't a date. It was probably just a hangout,
- 20:59Speaker 1: which is fine. I just found it weird that we
- 21:01Speaker 1: never talked again after that. That's the part in my
- 21:03Speaker 1: head that I was like, did I do something wrong?
- 21:05Speaker 1: Did I say something weird?
- 21:07Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 21:07Speaker 1: Or was that literally is it? And maybe I just
- 21:09Speaker 1: misinterpreted the whole thing. So yesterday see her in person,
- 21:13Speaker 1: I was like, well, huh, that's interesting, We're still friendly.
- 21:18Speaker 1: There's nothing weird there. I think it's just weird for me.
- 21:21Speaker 2: No, I don't think it was weird for anybody.
- 21:22Speaker 1: I'd be so curious. She's probably gonna hear this. I'm
- 21:24Speaker 1: gonna get a message that I misinterpreted and I'm an idiot.
- 21:26Speaker 1: That's fine.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Yeah, but I think it's the girls who love to listen.
- 21:30Speaker 1: In apparently, So we'll find it out more and more.
- 21:33Speaker 2: We should have a break in every podcast where we
- 21:35Speaker 2: just we just have a second where we waved them.
- 21:37Speaker 2: We just hang on, quick, let's wave a Scotty's girlfriends.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Like I'm dating everybody in Tampa Bay.
- 21:45Speaker 2: You have like two girlfriends.
- 21:46Speaker 1: I'm going out and meeting people.
- 21:48Speaker 2: So okay, so let's get into the conversation about what
- 21:51Speaker 2: we were having, what we were talking about on the
- 21:53Speaker 2: walk that was like we need to save this for
- 21:55Speaker 2: the podcast. This is perfect transition because I wanted to
- 21:57Speaker 2: ask you a question that I asked you last night
- 21:58Speaker 2: that I was like, nope, let's talk about this podcast.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Okay, bring it.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Okay. So girlfriend number one, who I demoted to girlfriend
- 22:05Speaker 2: number two, who doesn't need to be your girlfriend anymore
- 22:07Speaker 2: because she's ghosting you.
- 22:10Speaker 1: This is why she hates me now because we can
- 22:12Speaker 1: call a girlfriend number two quick recap.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Well, no, she was a girlfriend number one, she demoted
- 22:16Speaker 2: herself to girl. For number two, you kind of demoted
- 22:18Speaker 2: her too. Okay, let me give you a quick recap.
- 22:20Speaker 2: So Scotty, like a month ago, went to a dating event,
- 22:24Speaker 2: was going out with this girl that you you thought
- 22:27Speaker 2: was really sweet, very pretty. Yeah, you had gone on
- 22:29Speaker 2: a couple of dates with her. But I was just
- 22:31Speaker 2: picking up a vibe from Scotty. I'm like, he doesn't
- 22:33Speaker 2: like this girl. I was like, you like her, but
- 22:35Speaker 2: you don't like like her.
- 22:37Speaker 1: But there's also a part of me that's really not
- 22:39Speaker 1: looking for anything. So as I'm going on these dates,
- 22:41Speaker 1: I'm making sure that's a conscious thought of I'm not
- 22:44Speaker 1: looking for anything serious. And I say that when I'm
- 22:46Speaker 1: on the dates, it's not like this is not something
- 22:48Speaker 1: that's hidden. Because I was thinking about this yesterday. I
- 22:50Speaker 1: was like, if you listen to this podcast, you might
- 22:53Speaker 1: think I'm an asshole, and I swear.
- 22:55Speaker 2: You're not an asshole. You're not an asshole. I think
- 22:58Speaker 2: you're a pervy dude, but I don't think you're an asshole. Herbi,
- 23:01Speaker 2: I was like, I just am getting the vibe that
- 23:03Speaker 2: you're writing this out as long as possible so you
- 23:06Speaker 2: can gibble something and I feel like I have to
- 23:08Speaker 2: be the defender of women.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I don't think that's it. I think I have a
- 23:13Speaker 1: hard time shutting things down because I don't want people
- 23:16Speaker 1: to take it personally, so, especially in this situation, I
- 23:19Speaker 1: genuinely like hanging out with this person. Yeah, we have
- 23:22Speaker 1: a great time. Every time the conversation has gotten fantastic,
- 23:24Speaker 1: it's been very warm. But I also have had that
- 23:28Speaker 1: conversation where I know you're looking for something serious. I'm not. Yeah,
- 23:32Speaker 1: do you still want to continue hanging out?
- 23:34Speaker 2: Yes? Now?
- 23:34Speaker 1: If they say yes, well then I look like the asshole.
- 23:37Speaker 1: If I say, well, I don't think we should. But
- 23:39Speaker 1: I think that's actually what the conversation is going to
- 23:40Speaker 1: come to now. Yeah, Because as much as it's fun
- 23:45Speaker 1: to hang out, I also don't want to lead somebody
- 23:47Speaker 1: down the wrong path. Yeah, I don't want to hurt someone.
- 23:49Speaker 1: But that feels like now it's already happened.
- 23:51Speaker 2: I think because she is looking for something serious, she
- 23:54Speaker 2: was demoting her feelings to accommodate you, and I think
- 23:57Speaker 2: that's why I kind of felt a little ichy about it.
- 23:59Speaker 1: It's kind of that, and that's what I thought. It's
- 24:01Speaker 1: on me.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Then no, it's not really, it's it's one of those
- 24:04Speaker 2: gray area situations where nobody's really at fault. It's just
- 24:07Speaker 2: one of those situations where I think you too, are
- 24:09Speaker 2: really just better off not continuing things, especially since you
- 24:12Speaker 2: started dating someone recently who you really really like. So
- 24:16Speaker 2: that was the difference for me, is like, you're dating
- 24:18Speaker 2: this girl, I can tell there's like minimal interest, and
- 24:22Speaker 2: you then go out with girlfriend number one. Now she
- 24:24Speaker 2: was a girlfriend, never suppisi. You just went out with
- 24:26Speaker 2: this girl last weekend who you really really like. That's
- 24:29Speaker 2: the kind of feeling that you should have when you
- 24:31Speaker 2: go out with someone, not like, well, let's see where
- 24:32Speaker 2: this goes. It might be fun anyway. So backing up
- 24:36Speaker 2: the girlfriend, the girl that he was dating from the
- 24:39Speaker 2: speed dating event, they were going out a couple of times.
- 24:41Speaker 2: I felt like there wasn't a ton of interest on
- 24:43Speaker 2: Scotty's part. It's fine, You're not an asshole. It's just
- 24:45Speaker 2: a gray area situation. And so then he goes out
- 24:48Speaker 2: with my friend who I set him up with last weekend,
- 24:51Speaker 2: and he's like all about this girl. He's like so
- 24:53Speaker 2: excited about this chick. He's like, oh my gosh, beautiful.
- 24:55Speaker 2: We were out for twelve hours. She'spent like seven thousand
- 24:58Speaker 2: dollars on cocktails and saying be parking was four thousand dollars.
- 25:01Speaker 2: It was crazy. So I'm like, okay, well you it's
- 25:04Speaker 2: not fair now to girl for number one, Yeah, speed
- 25:07Speaker 2: date girl that you've gone out with a couple of times.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Because if you're talking about this girl that way and
- 25:12Speaker 2: you're talking about me this way, I don't I want
- 25:14Speaker 2: nothing to do with you.
- 25:15Speaker 1: And I agree I would feel the same way.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Which is what I was advocating for. And so essentially
- 25:19Speaker 2: I brought it up on the podcast on Tuesday.
- 25:23Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Yeah, so Scott had sent her a text message.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Because we already had Okay, we already had plans prior
- 25:31Speaker 1: to me even meeting the girl that I went on
- 25:34Speaker 1: the weekend date with. So that's what I was doing,
- 25:37Speaker 1: is I was following up to see if we still
- 25:40Speaker 1: wanted to spend some time together. We had a plan
- 25:42Speaker 1: from our last date, So I was following up because
- 25:45Speaker 1: what I've noticed, and again, if they happen to listen,
- 25:47Speaker 1: I will call myself out on this. I have sucked
- 25:51Speaker 1: at setting plans and texting and being responsive. In this chapter,
- 25:55Speaker 1: of my life. Yeah, so I already got that vibe
- 25:58Speaker 1: from them that they were kind of upset that I
- 26:00Speaker 1: wasn't putting in any effort, which I get you have
- 26:03Speaker 1: every right to be. And so what I was trying
- 26:05Speaker 1: to do is I was trying to hey, I'm stepping up.
- 26:07Speaker 1: I still want to do this, I still want to
- 26:09Speaker 1: hang out. I think it's super fun when we get together.
- 26:12Speaker 1: And then I didn't hear anything back. So that was
- 26:15Speaker 1: after the podcast that we did where we talked about
- 26:17Speaker 1: the situation, and so that's where we came to this
- 26:19Speaker 1: moment where it's like, well, she either listened and she
- 26:23Speaker 1: thinks I'm the biggest asshole because I went on a
- 26:26Speaker 1: date with somebody else that I actually like, I really like,
- 26:29Speaker 1: and now she might feel like she's on the back burner.
- 26:32Speaker 1: That's very valid. I get that we have a very
- 26:35Speaker 1: public job. We talk about our lives, and this is
- 26:38Speaker 1: the price I pay. Now. The other thought is that
- 26:43Speaker 1: she's never even listened to this. She's still not going
- 26:44Speaker 1: to listen to this, and she just kind of had
- 26:46Speaker 1: a moment where she's like, this dude doesn't want anything
- 26:48Speaker 1: serious and I'm not going to waste my time he's
- 26:50Speaker 1: just trying to hook up. Yeah, and I'm just going
- 26:52Speaker 1: to ghost him. Yeah, I get that.
- 26:54Speaker 4: Totally fair empower to you, girlfriend, Amen. I would high
- 26:58Speaker 4: five her two. I would be like, that's the right call.
- 27:00Speaker 1: And it's also on me to be like, you know what,
- 27:02Speaker 1: I know you're looking for something serious. Let me not
- 27:04Speaker 1: even take you down that journey.
- 27:05Speaker 2: We're advocating for this girls happyess.
- 27:07Speaker 1: I'm on her corner.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Okay, Sunny's like, I want nothing to do with her romantically,
- 27:12Speaker 2: but we want her to win.
- 27:13Speaker 1: We do want her to win. I do too, and
- 27:14Speaker 1: that sucks because if she is upset with me, that
- 27:17Speaker 1: sucks because we had a great time hanging out together.
- 27:19Speaker 2: And get it. But that's that's the hard thing about
- 27:21Speaker 2: dating is it's it is literally and I'm gonna quote
- 27:24Speaker 2: Jordan Sparks, go ahead, the Great American Idol Jordan Sparks.
- 27:30Speaker 2: I actually don't even know if I'm about to quote
- 27:31Speaker 2: her correctly or no? Or who is this is this hard? No?
- 27:37Speaker 2: I think there's two songs that I'm thinking of.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Go ahead and.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Singing love is a battlefield. I think that's hard.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Well, I know Jordan Sparks had a song that was like,
- 27:45Speaker 1: why does love always.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Feel like a battlefield? Befit? Yeah, So, to quote the
- 27:50Speaker 2: great philosopher Jordan Sparks, what is love feel It's because
- 27:54Speaker 2: when you get into the ring of love, you know,
- 27:58Speaker 2: sometimes you get hurt and you don't mean to. It's
- 28:01Speaker 2: just it's just how it goes. It's unavoidable.
- 28:03Speaker 1: So that's why I think today I am just going
- 28:06Speaker 1: to be straight up and probably just cancel plans because
- 28:10Speaker 1: I think plans are already canceled. But you were telling
- 28:11Speaker 1: me not even to say anything.
- 28:12Speaker 2: So this is where we are at a standstill. So
- 28:15Speaker 2: you sent the text a couple of days ago saying, hey,
- 28:17Speaker 2: let's hang out on Thursday, let's go see a movie,
- 28:19Speaker 2: because those were the plans that you guys agreed on,
- 28:21Speaker 2: and then she gave you a thumbs up like two
- 28:22Speaker 2: days later. I made the assumption that she listened and
- 28:25Speaker 2: was like, screw you, I'm not hanging out with you absolutely,
- 28:27Speaker 2: or maybe she didn't. Maybe she just changed her mind
- 28:29Speaker 2: and was like, how I'm going to go this guy.
- 28:30Speaker 2: So Scotty's like, well, I want to send her a text,
- 28:33Speaker 2: and I want to be like.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Well, my friend told me to call her today.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Call her this is you're doing too much.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Okay, warn too much? I guess, well, this is what
- 28:41Speaker 1: I told av on the walk, is like I'm just
- 28:42Speaker 1: I don't want to have this like gray area, Like
- 28:45Speaker 1: I'm an adult. Let's have a conversation like an adult.
- 28:48Speaker 2: But to what end? What's the purpose of that?
- 28:50Speaker 1: One to be able to clear the slate, one off
- 28:54Speaker 1: my end, to probably apologize, and two for us to
- 28:58Speaker 1: just know exactly where we're at. Here's the here's the hypothetical. Okay,
- 29:02Speaker 1: this is where the dumb guy brain kicks in. You ready?
- 29:04Speaker 1: She thumbs my message? So that could literally mean we're
- 29:08Speaker 1: still on for plans.
- 29:09Speaker 2: It doesn't.
- 29:10Speaker 1: It could though, but it could mean yeah cool, Or
- 29:15Speaker 1: it could be I don't have a middle finger emoji.
- 29:18Speaker 1: But this is my equivalent.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Okay, so you don't feel like you have closure.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I don't think it's that I have. You don't have
- 29:24Speaker 1: close it off? Okay instead of continuing to like try
- 29:28Speaker 1: to set things up. And I don't know, because I
- 29:32Speaker 1: also a thought was do I send that follow up
- 29:33Speaker 1: text to be like, hey, are we still on night?
- 29:36Speaker 1: So I'm not an idiot, like you're not down, that's fine,
- 29:39Speaker 1: but like just tell me that.
- 29:40Speaker 2: So in other words, you need closure.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Okay, well sure, I guess in this can sense I do.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Okay, so you need a little closure. So let's craft
- 29:48Speaker 2: a text to send to.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Her right now.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Let's do it right now. We're thinking about it.
- 29:53Speaker 1: This is I mean, I as somebody that is you
- 29:55Speaker 1: know in this world.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Do you just want to break things off? Or do
- 29:58Speaker 2: you want to how do you want to go about this?
- 30:00Speaker 2: I want to make sure this is your battlefield.
- 30:02Speaker 1: I want to allow her to just have an honest
- 30:04Speaker 1: moment of hey, it is completely okay that we don't
- 30:10Speaker 1: need to do this anymore. If it's going in a
- 30:12Speaker 1: path that you don't feel comfortable with, that's completely understandable
- 30:15Speaker 1: to let her say, yeah, I don't think this is
- 30:17Speaker 1: what I want. That's great. Don't thumbs up my message.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Just tell me that I know.
- 30:21Speaker 2: But this is her way, just ghosting without confrontation. Yeah, okay,
- 30:25Speaker 2: so let's let's grab this.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Oh my god, okay, what should it say?
- 30:29Speaker 2: What? But she's but then she's going to listen to
- 30:35Speaker 2: this and be and be like, I get it, I
- 30:38Speaker 2: get why you sent that.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Let me see okay, I don't even I mean, maybe
- 30:42Speaker 1: you're right to just let it sit. But that just
- 30:44Speaker 1: feels so immature to be like.
- 30:46Speaker 2: It's not it's just it's it's dating. It's the unspoken
- 30:51Speaker 2: rules of dating, Like if someone's just kind of slow ghosting,
- 30:53Speaker 2: then you just let them. Wait. Oh no, did you
- 30:56Speaker 2: say something? No, just like I'm listening right now.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like nothing has even been talked about since
- 31:04Speaker 1: Why does that say Sunday? Because if it's Sunday, I
- 31:07Speaker 1: don't even know a day of today, then that means
- 31:09Speaker 1: she didn't listen to the podcast. Oh wait, maybe I
- 31:12Speaker 1: sent it on Sunday. I don't know how to read
- 31:14Speaker 1: text messages. Yeah, I wrote that I wanted to have
- 31:17Speaker 1: am and she just thumbs up the message. So I'm
- 31:22Speaker 1: thinking that's to screw you. So I could either say, hey,
- 31:25Speaker 1: are we still on for tonight? That'd be a simple one.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Ummm yeah, that's a good thing to say. I mean,
- 31:32Speaker 2: be prepared for a little bit of confrontation though, So
- 31:34Speaker 2: are we still on for tonight? And she's gonna be like, actually, Scottie, no, I.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Kind of want the confrontation.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Oh you're looking for a fight.
- 31:40Speaker 1: No, I'm just looking for somebody to just be straight up.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, so then send that. I'd be like, are
- 31:44Speaker 2: we still on for tonight? Question mark? What happens if
- 31:47Speaker 2: she says yes.
- 31:49Speaker 1: And we're still on? But okay, I know I actually
- 31:52Speaker 1: what I would do is, well, here's where it gets hmmm.
- 31:56Speaker 1: I think we talked about this a little bit the
- 31:58Speaker 1: last podcast, but this is supposed to be the time. Well, okay,
- 32:03Speaker 1: I get what you're saying. Yeah, girl for number one,
- 32:06Speaker 1: I truly really like.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Girlfriend number one is now is formerly a girlfriend number two.
- 32:12Speaker 2: She's the one that I set Scottie up with that
- 32:15Speaker 2: you're or you're a fan of. I don't even fel
- 32:16Speaker 2: like this girl that we're texting right now as girlfriend.
- 32:18Speaker 2: She's just side piece. She is side piece number one.
- 32:23Speaker 2: I'm kidding. I say that lovingly.
- 32:26Speaker 1: I should honestly just text her and just cancel it,
- 32:27Speaker 1: no matter what.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Just say just she'll get the point, you know what
- 32:31Speaker 2: I mean?
- 32:31Speaker 1: Just like, Hey, you know why though I don't like
- 32:33Speaker 1: texting because it feels again, it still feels I'd rather
- 32:36Speaker 1: even see her and have the conversation like the last
- 32:37Speaker 1: time I hung out. That's why I literally said, again, hey, yeah,
- 32:40Speaker 1: I know you're looking for something serious.
- 32:43Speaker 4: I'm not.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to make sure we're on the.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Same Why don't you send a voice message? You love
- 32:46Speaker 2: a voice message.
- 32:47Speaker 1: I'm not sending a voice one because that feels even
- 32:49Speaker 1: more awkward. Hey, it's Scott. I'm live on the podcast
- 32:53Speaker 1: and I wanted to let you know that I don't
- 32:54Speaker 1: think we should see each other anymore. Oh I hate that.
- 32:57Speaker 1: I hate that.
- 32:58Speaker 2: I hate Just send her a text like, hey, girl,
- 33:02Speaker 2: was thinking about it.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Okay, here's actually what I want to say. I want
- 33:05Speaker 1: to say. Hey, explanation point. Explanation point, I'm not getting
- 33:13Speaker 1: the vibe. The vibe, I'm not getting the No. Okay, well,
- 33:21Speaker 1: here's what I want to say. I'm not going to
- 33:22Speaker 1: text it right now.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Okay, So what do you want to say? Just say
- 33:23Speaker 2: what you want to say.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I know you're looking for something serious, and I know
- 33:26Speaker 1: I can't provide that. So I feel like it's wrong
- 33:27Speaker 1: of me to continue to like hang out with you
- 33:30Speaker 1: and do things that are sort of relationship.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Be I love that. Actually, thank you, that actually sits
- 33:37Speaker 2: so well with my spirit. Good.
- 33:38Speaker 1: That's the honest, heartfelt thing.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Send it right now.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 33:42Speaker 2: Usually the honest thing and the most human thing is
- 33:46Speaker 2: always is what is going to resonate with people, not
- 33:49Speaker 2: the bullshit pr answer.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Okay, what the heck that I just said?
- 33:53Speaker 2: Hang on, rewind pull back the tapes.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Hey girl, Hey, I wanted to I need.
- 34:00Speaker 2: To cancel on the plans. I'm not even sure we're
- 34:02Speaker 2: having tonight. It just I really love what you said.
- 34:04Speaker 2: It feels I know you want something serious. It feels
- 34:07Speaker 2: wrong for me to continue to do all these relationship
- 34:09Speaker 2: be things. I think it's probably best that we go
- 34:11Speaker 2: our separate ways. And I think she.
- 34:14Speaker 1: Backed the podcast and said that, do I have to
- 34:16Speaker 1: send it on the podcast? No, gosh, I can't think
- 34:18Speaker 1: in text at the same.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Time the people yearn for its olf.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Okay, go ahead and say what I just said.
- 34:22Speaker 2: So Scotty say, Hey, insert name here, been thinking about it.
- 34:27Speaker 2: I know you really want something serious, and I just
- 34:30Speaker 2: don't feel right doing all these relationshipy things. And feel
- 34:33Speaker 2: free to reward this. Obviously these relationship be things when
- 34:38Speaker 2: I'm not heading in that direction or something along those lines.
- 34:41Speaker 2: When I'm not when I don't plan on getting in
- 34:44Speaker 2: something serious anytime soon.
- 34:45Speaker 1: M Hey, been thinking about it, and I know you
- 34:48Speaker 1: want something serious, and I know I'm not in that
- 34:51Speaker 1: headspace currently, So God, how the heck did I close it?
- 34:59Speaker 1: I know you said it like three times. You listen
- 35:00Speaker 1: to the podcast. It's easy for you. I'm trying to
- 35:02Speaker 1: text it.
- 35:02Speaker 2: I don't know' listen back and be like, fuck, that
- 35:04Speaker 2: was good. I didn't get that in there. Okay, just say, wait,
- 35:13Speaker 2: what do you have written so far?
- 35:15Speaker 1: I said, Hey, been thinking about it, and I know
- 35:16Speaker 1: you want something serious and I know I'm not in
- 35:18Speaker 1: the headspace currently period. I think the best.
- 35:21Speaker 2: Thing, no, no, no, here's what I here was my
- 35:23Speaker 2: favorite line from what you'd said.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Earlier, was you said about the relationship thing.
- 35:28Speaker 2: You said it. I love that you said this. It
- 35:31Speaker 2: feels wrong to me to keep doing these relationship like
- 35:35Speaker 2: things when I know I can't give you that at
- 35:37Speaker 2: some point.
- 35:38Speaker 1: M and I know, and it feels wrong to me
- 35:42Speaker 1: to do these.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Because that feels I really because when you get that
- 35:46Speaker 2: kind of text, and this is I'm just gonna put
- 35:48Speaker 2: this in the box of a rejection text, even though
- 35:50Speaker 2: I don't really like that phrase that you're rejecting her,
- 35:52Speaker 2: because this isn't really your rejection. You guys just aren't
- 35:55Speaker 2: right for each other, correct, And I think rejection has
- 35:57Speaker 2: a negative connotations. It seems like there's something wrong and
- 35:59Speaker 2: there's yeah anyway. So what I like about this is
- 36:03Speaker 2: when you get that kind of text, it puts you
- 36:04Speaker 2: in a really vulnerable, downcast position, like, oh, there's something
- 36:11Speaker 2: wrong with me, Whereas I think by you showing vulnerability
- 36:14Speaker 2: of saying, listen, this is the reason I'm like, we're
- 36:17Speaker 2: not going to date each other. And I don't like
- 36:19Speaker 2: treating you like a girlfriend when you're not going to
- 36:21Speaker 2: be my girlfriend.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Correct, because that's the truth. I don't want you to
- 36:25Speaker 1: like because that as much as we say we don't
- 36:27Speaker 1: want a relationship, and then we do relationship type shit.
- 36:30Speaker 1: And I know, like guys' brains are a little bit
- 36:33Speaker 1: different than women's in the space of like I could
- 36:34Speaker 1: disconnect the two very quick. Yes, but I've also been
- 36:37Speaker 1: with women where I have We've had these conversations, we've
- 36:41Speaker 1: done the relationship type shit, and then still you get
- 36:43Speaker 1: hurt because of course, we just watched a beautiful movie,
- 36:48Speaker 1: we cuddled up all night, we had deep conversation, we
- 36:51Speaker 1: treated each other like we truly love each other. Jah
- 36:54Speaker 1: there's gonna be feelings that form, no shit, So if
- 36:59Speaker 1: that's not what your intention is then just don't do it,
- 37:01Speaker 1: but it also becomes weird if it literally just has
- 37:04Speaker 1: to I don't know how people casually date. Then that's
- 37:07Speaker 1: where I've always struggled.
- 37:08Speaker 2: I'm not somebody that can casually date, so that I
- 37:11Speaker 2: don't know how to answer that for you. That's where
- 37:13Speaker 2: it's never felt right to me, And I think that's
- 37:15Speaker 2: why I love what you said. That what you That's
- 37:20Speaker 2: what I love. That is so perfectly phrased for why
- 37:24Speaker 2: I feel like I've also never been in a serious
- 37:25Speaker 2: relationship relationship. It doesn't feel right to treat you like
- 37:29Speaker 2: my boyfriend if I don't see you being my boyfriend
- 37:31Speaker 2: three months from now.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Dude, that's a lie. That's it.
- 37:35Speaker 2: I know. That's why I keep saying that. I think
- 37:37Speaker 2: it's such a.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Good so far. Let's see where you have just hey
- 37:39Speaker 1: been thinking about it, and I know you want something serious,
- 37:41Speaker 1: and it feels wrong on me to do these relationship
- 37:43Speaker 1: type of things when I know I'm not in that
- 37:45Speaker 1: headspace currently.
- 37:47Speaker 2: I don't know that I like the word headspace okay,
- 37:49Speaker 2: when I.
- 37:50Speaker 1: Know when I know I'm not may looking for that
- 37:53Speaker 1: right now.
- 37:54Speaker 2: No, I don't even know that I like the phrasing
- 37:56Speaker 2: of right now, because I think right now almost leaves
- 37:58Speaker 2: it a little bit open. Yeah, where it's like I
- 38:01Speaker 2: just don't think we're.
- 38:03Speaker 1: I just don't when I know I'm not.
- 38:05Speaker 2: There, when I know I'm not ready for that.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Yeah, that sounds right.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Well.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Also, the truth is I don't want to lead you like.
- 38:16Speaker 1: I don't know how to you phrase that. I don't
- 38:17Speaker 1: want to lead you down. I don't want to lead
- 38:19Speaker 1: you on.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Well, okay, read me what you have back.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Hey, been thinking about it and I know you want
- 38:23Speaker 1: something serious and it feels wrong. Let me spell properly.
- 38:26Speaker 1: It feels okay, No, it feels wrong to me to
- 38:28Speaker 1: do these relationship type things when I know I'm not
- 38:31Speaker 1: ready for that. But I don't see. I don't want
- 38:33Speaker 1: it to be about me. It feels like such a weenie.
- 38:35Speaker 1: I'm that maybe either day. No, I don't. I don't
- 38:37Speaker 1: want to do this for you. I literally could do this.
- 38:40Speaker 1: I could sit there and watch, you know, like and
- 38:42Speaker 1: have a date night with you, yeah, and have a
- 38:44Speaker 1: casual friendship that's you know, possibly you know, romantic. I
- 38:48Speaker 1: don't want to do this to you. That's not right
- 38:50Speaker 1: of me.
- 38:50Speaker 2: I think sometimes when I get those messages and they
- 38:53Speaker 2: say those cliche chat schebte lines like I'm doing this
- 38:56Speaker 2: out of respect for you or I respect you too much.
- 38:59Speaker 2: It always does a little bit like BS to me.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Not that I think it is BS, but it feels
- 39:05Speaker 2: so canned that I feel like talking about you and
- 39:08Speaker 2: where you're at is the more honest and vulnerable thing.
- 39:10Speaker 1: And it's also taking ownership.
- 39:12Speaker 2: It's taking ownership. Listen, I just I don't think you're
- 39:15Speaker 2: gonna be my girlfriend. It has nothing to do with you.
- 39:17Speaker 2: I mean, it does have everything to do with you,
- 39:19Speaker 2: but it's not.
- 39:20Speaker 1: It has nothing. It has everything to do with us.
- 39:22Speaker 2: This is just not the relationship for either of us.
- 39:24Speaker 1: So how do I close this out? Because I said
- 39:25Speaker 1: I'm not ready for.
- 39:26Speaker 2: That, I don't think you need anything after that? Say
- 39:28Speaker 2: it one more time.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Hey been thinking about it, and I know you want
- 39:31Speaker 1: something serious and it feels wrong to me to do
- 39:34Speaker 1: these relationship type things when I know I'm not ready
- 39:36Speaker 1: for that.
- 39:37Speaker 2: Ready for that? Okay, then give her a compliment. Let's
- 39:40Speaker 2: end with something positives. Okay, say something honest about about
- 39:48Speaker 2: like I love breaking the fourth wall. Breaking the fourth
- 39:50Speaker 2: wall is one of my favorite things to do. So
- 39:52Speaker 2: say something along the lines of I'm going to workshop
- 39:56Speaker 2: this year.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Please do.
- 40:00Speaker 2: I know these kinds of texts feel feel like like
- 40:09Speaker 2: BS kindness, But I really did have the best time
- 40:12Speaker 2: getting to know you. I just don't. I just I
- 40:16Speaker 2: just feel like, well, that's the truth.
- 40:18Speaker 1: I really like, at the end of the day, I
- 40:20Speaker 1: had an awesome time spending time with you. If we
- 40:23Speaker 1: continue spending time together, we're literally only signing up, yeah,
- 40:25Speaker 1: to just get hurt. Yeah, that's it.
- 40:27Speaker 2: I'm seriously having such a great time getting to know
- 40:29Speaker 2: you that I just know I'm setting myself up for
- 40:32Speaker 2: I think I'm setting up us both up for for
- 40:38Speaker 2: a for a really difficult conversation in the future. Who
- 40:43Speaker 2: honest vulnerable taking ownership?
- 40:47Speaker 1: Okay, So I know these types of messages sound.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Sound sound like BS or what however you want to
- 40:53Speaker 2: phrase that, because I really did enjoy getting to know you.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Gotcha have an amazing I did truly have an amazing
- 41:07Speaker 1: time getting to know you. That's so sweet getting to
- 41:12Speaker 1: know you and our hangouts. I also realize that we're
- 41:20Speaker 1: only signing ourselves up to get hurt if we keep
- 41:22Speaker 1: doing it.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Yes, because that's really what it is like. We're gonna
- 41:29Speaker 2: you know, we can keep doing this for three months.
- 41:31Speaker 2: We could, but at the end of it's gonna yeah. Yeah,
- 41:34Speaker 2: I'm like, we're just gonna keep doing this and it's
- 41:36Speaker 2: gonna be tough. For in three months, let's just let's
- 41:38Speaker 2: just go our separate ways.
- 41:39Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. So no friendship at the end, friends question.
- 41:43Speaker 2: Britney Spears was arrested.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. Okay, I also realized that we're only
- 41:47Speaker 1: signing ourselves up for for a difficult conversation on the
- 41:55Speaker 1: line if we keep it m hmm, for a harder conversation.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Now do I say anything after that? So what I
- 42:18Speaker 1: have at the end is I also realize that we're
- 42:20Speaker 1: only signing ourselves up for a harder conversation down the
- 42:22Speaker 1: line if we keep this up. He's still looking at Brittany.
- 42:30Speaker 2: No, I just got to like a very random email.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Probably spam. It's probably a scammer.
- 42:36Speaker 2: No anyway, Okay, say what you're gonna say to her
- 42:39Speaker 2: one more time.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Here is the full message, and now we just need
- 42:41Speaker 1: one last line. Hey been thinking about it, and I
- 42:44Speaker 1: know you want something serious and it feels wrong to
- 42:46Speaker 1: me to do these relationships like things when I know
- 42:49Speaker 1: I'm not ready for that. I know these types of
- 42:51Speaker 1: messages sound like BS, but I truly, but I truly
- 42:56Speaker 1: had an amazing time getting to know you and our hangouts.
- 43:01Speaker 1: I also realize that we're only signing ourselves up for
- 43:03Speaker 1: a harder conversation down the line.
- 43:05Speaker 2: If we keep this up, I think that's perfect. I
- 43:06Speaker 2: don't think you need anything more. You don't want to
- 43:08Speaker 2: be one of those people that sens they never stops. Yeah,
- 43:10Speaker 2: it's like this massive paragraph and then you end up
- 43:12Speaker 2: on are we dating the same guy?
- 43:15Speaker 1: Wait? What do you think I'm on it? Oh my god,
- 43:18Speaker 1: let me see.
- 43:19Speaker 2: We see if you're on this page, I'm gonna have
- 43:20Speaker 2: to beleeve that.
- 43:21Speaker 1: By the way, what just the page name?
- 43:24Speaker 2: Yeah, they get pissed when you talk about it. I
- 43:26Speaker 2: have heard so annoying. So can you imagine I see you,
- 43:30Speaker 2: I would be.
- 43:31Speaker 1: So pissed because I you know, what's okay, this is
- 43:34Speaker 1: gonna be a side little note. But what would super
- 43:37Speaker 1: like would just piss me off? Is like, I try
- 43:39Speaker 1: to do the right things, but I think there are
- 43:40Speaker 1: always gonna be moments no matter what you do, somebody's
- 43:43Speaker 1: gonna paint you in the light that you never saw.
- 43:45Speaker 2: Yourself as you're not thirty two, right, No, I'm not
- 43:47Speaker 2: thirty two because there's a Scott Tea on here. If
- 43:52Speaker 2: you're seeing Scott TA thirty two in Tampa or Parish, run.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Oh now I'm not in parish. Parish is across the bay.
- 43:58Speaker 1: I'm in Saint Pete baby. And again, oh, i'ld be
- 44:02Speaker 1: so pissed.
- 44:02Speaker 2: No, I think you were dating your ex at these times. Okay,
- 44:05Speaker 2: so I don't see you in here?
- 44:10Speaker 1: Hey been thinking about it? I should say I've been
- 44:11Speaker 1: thinking about a proper English Scot. I've been thinking about it,
- 44:15Speaker 1: and I know you want something serious, and it feels
- 44:16Speaker 1: wrong to me to do these relationship but things when
- 44:18Speaker 1: I know I'm not ready for that. I know these
- 44:20Speaker 1: types of messages sound like BS, but I truly had
- 44:22Speaker 1: an amazing time getting to know you and our hangouts.
- 44:24Speaker 1: I also realized that we're only signing ourselves up for
- 44:27Speaker 1: a harder conversation down the line if we keep this up.
- 44:30Speaker 1: I shouldn't put like a thumbs up at the end,
- 44:32Speaker 1: not a sound good question mark. I think you have
- 44:35Speaker 1: emoj step overthin. Just send it, send it, send it. Oh,
- 44:38Speaker 1: this feels so hard send it. Okay, I'm sending it.
- 44:42Speaker 1: I'm not almost I just set the message. And here's
- 44:45Speaker 1: the thing I think that's the biggest thing that I
- 44:47Speaker 1: am taking away from this is just being honest. That's
- 44:49Speaker 1: what i'd literally on a piece of paper as I
- 44:51Speaker 1: was like exiting my last relationship and knew way I
- 44:54Speaker 1: was going into this new world. My number one value
- 44:57Speaker 1: is just honesty. When you feel something, act on it.
- 44:59Speaker 1: When you want to say something, I mean say it,
- 45:00Speaker 1: say it, go in that direction. Honesty will set you free.
- 45:03Speaker 1: And it's you know, on somebody else on how they
- 45:06Speaker 1: take it. But all I could do is be honest.
- 45:08Speaker 1: I could deliver it in a respectful way. I'm never
- 45:10Speaker 1: going to be a dick about it. But to be
- 45:12Speaker 1: honest about it is the best thing that we could do.
- 45:14Speaker 1: So there you go.
- 45:15Speaker 2: There you go. Okay, on to Girl forrid number one now. Oh,
- 45:18Speaker 2: now that we've gotten rid of the other one, we
- 45:20Speaker 2: just have Girl for number one now crack so Girl
- 45:22Speaker 2: for number one I set them up with. They had
- 45:25Speaker 2: a glorious time, twelve hour date, seven thousand dollars.
- 45:28Speaker 1: It was an incredible date, it really was.
- 45:30Speaker 2: Have we talked about the hotel thing? On the podcast. No,
- 45:33Speaker 2: we have not buckle up mopos.
- 45:35Speaker 1: Hey, she listens to this, Well, it's going to kind
- 45:36Speaker 1: of ruin a surprise, but I guess we can. No,
- 45:38Speaker 1: we can because I.
- 45:40Speaker 2: Have to go. She is going to listen to this.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Well, then we could talk about it.
- 45:44Speaker 2: That's fine, Okay, let's talk about it. So do you
- 45:48Speaker 2: want to explain.
- 45:50Speaker 1: It in summary? So after this date that I had
- 45:53Speaker 1: with now I guess quote unquote girlfriend number.
- 45:55Speaker 2: One, number one who's now no longer a side piece.
- 46:00Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, this is with the weekend date.
- 46:03Speaker 2: Okay.
- 46:03Speaker 1: Yeah, After we had that incredible date, we both said
- 46:06Speaker 1: to each other we would love to do this again.
- 46:08Speaker 1: And so I started thinking. And we had something that
- 46:11Speaker 1: we talked about on our date as how much she
- 46:13Speaker 1: loved like a sunrise. So I was like, in my
- 46:15Speaker 1: head again, I am paying close attention. I'm just taking
- 46:18Speaker 1: in everything that she's saying because I'm like, yep, taking
- 46:20Speaker 1: note of that, taking note of that. I'm a good listener.
- 46:22Speaker 1: I really like, you know, I'm really interested. And so
- 46:25Speaker 1: one of the things I said was sunrise. As I
- 46:29Speaker 1: mentioned to her, I wanted to do something again the
- 46:32Speaker 1: only time I have before I go on this cruise
- 46:34Speaker 1: with my dad is like a Sunday morning, a Sunday
- 46:39Speaker 1: morning sunrise. Because I'm working Saturday morning, I have the
- 46:43Speaker 1: evening off and then I have Sunday mornings. I was like,
- 46:44Speaker 1: would you want to see do that sunrise? Like? Because
- 46:47Speaker 1: that sounds incredible. We talked it up or else I
- 46:49Speaker 1: got to wait a whole nother week to see her again.
- 46:51Speaker 1: That sounds shitty, Yeah, so I asked her and she
- 46:54Speaker 1: said yes. Now she doesn't necessarily live exactly close to me,
- 47:00Speaker 1: so I was talking to Abby about this, just an
- 47:04Speaker 1: idea I had. I got this hotel stay at a
- 47:08Speaker 1: very nice hotel in Duned, and I went to this
- 47:10Speaker 1: auction event and I'd just I don't know what the
- 47:13Speaker 1: heck it is the red roof, Yes, it's that. And
- 47:17Speaker 1: I auctioned and I got this hotel stay and I've
- 47:20Speaker 1: just had it for a year. I haven't used it,
- 47:23Speaker 1: but it's a nice ass hotel that in my head,
- 47:25Speaker 1: I'm like, that would be so silly to use this
- 47:28Speaker 1: thing alone. I could, it could be a treat myself
- 47:30Speaker 1: kind of weekend, but that is an experience that it's
- 47:33Speaker 1: really nice to be shared with somebody. So I was
- 47:36Speaker 1: going to ask her if she wanted to do that
- 47:39Speaker 1: like Saturday after my event into Sunday, so we could
- 47:44Speaker 1: literally wake up and go to the sunrise, because I
- 47:46Speaker 1: don't know logistically how else we're going to do that
- 47:48Speaker 1: unless she gets up super fucking early, meets me at
- 47:51Speaker 1: my house, and then we drive over to the beach. Right,
- 47:53Speaker 1: that's really early. That's like a weird date of like what, Okay,
- 47:57Speaker 1: I'm gonna make you get up at four to meet
- 47:58Speaker 1: me at five so we could drive the beach and
- 48:00Speaker 1: get there by six.
- 48:01Speaker 2: That's what I said.
- 48:01Speaker 1: That sounds crazy, but I think that's probably what we're
- 48:04Speaker 1: going to do. So I was going to offer this hotel,
- 48:08Speaker 1: and then I also realized that that also sounds super
- 48:10Speaker 1: love bombing. As we just talk about relationship shit. That
- 48:13Speaker 1: is relationship shit that is hardcore.
- 48:16Speaker 2: Like, hey, it's either it's it's in two categories. It's
- 48:20Speaker 2: either your love bombing the heck out of her or
- 48:23Speaker 2: your I would see this as like a sleazy guy move, like, hey,
- 48:27Speaker 2: come on, come to a hotel. It's on the beach. Yeah,
- 48:29Speaker 2: just trying to like hook up kind of like you
- 48:31Speaker 2: know when Tall Tint Tall Tint Dan hot tin dantastic
- 48:35Speaker 2: to go watch the sunset. That's how it felt. When
- 48:37Speaker 2: he asked me that it felt sleazy, it felt like, hey,
- 48:40Speaker 2: you wouldn't get fingered under the bleachers. That's what That's
- 48:43Speaker 2: what literally what it felt like.
- 48:44Speaker 4: So, which is there's a time and place for the bleachers.
- 48:47Speaker 4: But you know, I guess, but what didn't you feel romance?
- 48:50Speaker 4: Because I feel like that would be romance.
- 48:51Speaker 2: I'm like, women like a women like a good build up,
- 48:55Speaker 2: that's true, and women love. I'll give your pro tip here.
- 49:01Speaker 2: My favorite comedian. Her name is Taylor Tomlins.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Oh yeah know, Taylor Thomas.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Okay, so you've maybe seen this joke before. Yeah, take notes.
- 49:06Speaker 2: This is this is really good shit. I'm about to
- 49:08Speaker 2: let's get late every day for the rest of your life.
- 49:10Speaker 1: Wow, all right, women.
- 49:13Speaker 2: She has this joke about the ever, everlasting, everlasting Gobstopper rule,
- 49:18Speaker 2: where she said that when she dates guys, she does
- 49:22Speaker 2: the everlasting gob Stopper test, like in Willy Wonka. And
- 49:26Speaker 2: if you've never seen Willy Wonka, basically I'm gonna summarize
- 49:29Speaker 2: it poorly because I haven't seen it in years. But basically,
- 49:32Speaker 2: Charlie denies something at the chocolate factory and then ends
- 49:37Speaker 2: up winning the whole factory in the end because he
- 49:39Speaker 2: shows humility or something like that. And so Taylor Tomlinson
- 49:44Speaker 2: has this joke where she says, when guys ask me
- 49:47Speaker 2: to sleep over and I say no and they respect it,
- 49:51Speaker 2: it makes her want to sleep with them more.
- 49:53Speaker 1: Oh yeah, okay, yeah.
- 49:54Speaker 2: And then she has a joke where she's like, congratulations, Johnny,
- 49:58Speaker 2: I'm shaying just because it makes you feel respected. Yes, yes,
- 50:03Speaker 2: And so when why I think the whole hotel thing
- 50:07Speaker 2: is gonna end up shooting you in the foot in
- 50:09Speaker 2: the wrong way, is it doesn't have that natural build
- 50:12Speaker 2: up to getting there if that makes it. Also, women
- 50:20Speaker 2: love to be told no.
- 50:22Speaker 1: That's powerful, iman like the word no.
- 50:25Speaker 2: Women love to be told no in that regard. No. Yeah, yeah,
- 50:29Speaker 2: well I guess like respectfully, not like no, you're ugly
- 50:31Speaker 2: at all. No.
- 50:32Speaker 1: But I think in the same sense of I have
- 50:35Speaker 1: self control. I think that's huge.
- 50:37Speaker 2: That's literally what it is, you know.
- 50:38Speaker 1: And I what's so crazy is like when I thought
- 50:40Speaker 1: of this hotel thing, literally, like that side of the
- 50:43Speaker 1: sleazy side was not even one thought in my head. Yeah,
- 50:46Speaker 1: other guys, because I've told other friends and they're like,
- 50:49Speaker 1: oh man, I'm like, dude, that's my whole idea of
- 50:53Speaker 1: this was it's a beautiful hotel. Would rather somebody else
- 50:56Speaker 1: experience it, and it would be so fun to have
- 50:58Speaker 1: like company to go through all these adventures and a
- 51:01Speaker 1: dinner and then I stay. And but that's why I'm
- 51:05Speaker 1: a romantic dude. I like romantic shit.
- 51:07Speaker 2: Scot's like, I don't even like sex.
- 51:09Speaker 1: What is this sex you speak of?
- 51:11Speaker 2: He's like, I've never heard of it before.
- 51:13Speaker 1: No, but that is a good point, because I don't
- 51:15Speaker 1: want it to be taken as that, like let's go
- 51:16Speaker 1: to a hotel and we could just all night, you
- 51:18Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. No, that was not even what
- 51:21Speaker 1: I was thinking. But I also get that, and that's
- 51:23Speaker 1: why I'm also okay with not having that work out.
- 51:26Speaker 1: And you know what if they listen to this, hey
- 51:28Speaker 1: maybe down the line, yeah, oh my god, in this case, no,
- 51:31Speaker 1: how about that? No, I don't know if that was
- 51:34Speaker 1: a moment. She's like, oh, yes, absolutely, And I think
- 51:42Speaker 1: what's different is it's we'll just see where it goes.
- 51:46Speaker 1: We'll allow things to build up.
- 51:48Speaker 2: So anyway, Yeah, we were out at run club. The
- 51:49Speaker 2: reason why we've even brought this up in the first
- 51:51Speaker 2: place is we were at run Club and I told
- 51:53Speaker 2: this group of girls at Run Club about Scotty's big
- 51:56Speaker 2: hotel plan. I was like, please, for the love of God,
- 51:59Speaker 2: tell Scotty's horrible idea.
- 52:00Speaker 1: They literally did. We walking up to the jewelry table
- 52:03Speaker 1: and like, we just met these women and they made
- 52:07Speaker 1: a joke about Oh. I think they thought we were together,
- 52:10Speaker 1: and they're like, oh, if you're looking for an engagement ring,
- 52:12Speaker 1: and literally you or I didn't say anything.
- 52:14Speaker 2: Oh no, I think I said, are you gonna no? No, no,
- 52:17Speaker 2: I brought up girlfriend number one first.
- 52:19Speaker 1: No, no, no, they brought up the engagement ring first.
- 52:21Speaker 1: And then you're like, oh, I bet.
- 52:23Speaker 2: No, because I said, well, if you marry blank blin
- 52:25Speaker 2: blankoo blink.
- 52:27Speaker 1: I thought you said that after they engagement No, because.
- 52:29Speaker 2: I said, which one reminds you of blue booh blue
- 52:32Speaker 2: blah blop oh, And the girls were like, that's a
- 52:35Speaker 2: good question, and I said, I know. That's literally why
- 52:38Speaker 2: I asked it.
- 52:39Speaker 1: And so we're ten seconds into the conversation. He goes, yes, Scott,
- 52:43Speaker 1: tell him about this stupid ass hotel idea. God, I
- 52:47Speaker 1: don't even know the girl's names. I don't even know
- 52:48Speaker 1: who I am, and now I'm just spilling out my
- 52:50Speaker 1: horrible guy ideas to him. And they told me that
- 52:53Speaker 1: it was a horrible idea. They did, they put it
- 52:55Speaker 1: out there. I was just thinking romantically, because that's where
- 52:58Speaker 1: my head goes first, because you know, just a hopeless
- 53:01Speaker 1: romantic over here. I won't do it. I just don't
- 53:04Speaker 1: know how the logistically we're going to see the sunrise
- 53:06Speaker 1: and not have both of us just be exhausted.
- 53:09Speaker 2: That's why I thought the this was maybe not a
- 53:12Speaker 2: second date, but should be a fourth or fifth date.
- 53:15Speaker 1: What the sunrise? Yeah, well I got to cancel another date.
- 53:17Speaker 2: Now, well maybe you just say, what if you just
- 53:20Speaker 2: reschedule or not? You don't reschedule this date? You you say,
- 53:24Speaker 2: would you rather get brunch?
- 53:26Speaker 1: I don't know if I have brunch available. That's why
- 53:28Speaker 1: I did the sun I think I'm working. I think
- 53:30Speaker 1: they they are sending me the radio station, sending me
- 53:32Speaker 1: to an event.
- 53:33Speaker 2: It was literally, they send me anywhere unless we do.
- 53:35Speaker 1: Something Saturday night, which we could.
- 53:37Speaker 2: Do something Saturday night. Say hey, I got asked to
- 53:39Speaker 2: work for blah blah blah blah blahlah.
- 53:41Speaker 1: Blah, which is true. This I am working Sunday. I'm
- 53:43Speaker 1: pretty sure.
- 53:45Speaker 2: I really hope this doesn't mess up our plans. But
- 53:47Speaker 2: would you be free to get dinner at boo boo
- 53:49Speaker 2: boo boo boo.
- 53:50Speaker 1: Oh?
- 53:51Speaker 2: That'd be nice, you know, and then you can save
- 53:53Speaker 2: the hotel for a month from now, I don't know
- 53:56Speaker 2: down do you have no a couple of times? Then
- 53:58Speaker 2: you get day night.
- 54:01Speaker 1: Yeah. Actually, I do want to go to that cocktail
- 54:03Speaker 1: lounge in Saint Bete, so maybe that's nice.
- 54:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, take her to Pluma.
- 54:06Speaker 1: That sounds really nice. I mean, but also I.
- 54:08Speaker 2: Thought Dared' dream was this weekend.
- 54:10Speaker 1: It is, but I do Saturday. It's going to be
- 54:12Speaker 1: ten to three. I'm doing a seminar and then after
- 54:15Speaker 1: that I was going to celebrate with something. I don't
- 54:17Speaker 1: know what that was. That's why I was thinking of
- 54:18Speaker 1: the hotel.
- 54:18Speaker 2: Go celebrate with your lady.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Well I might, I just didn't know she had a
- 54:23Speaker 1: Saturday night open.
- 54:24Speaker 2: But I'll ask, well, I mean, can she meet you
- 54:25Speaker 2: at four? Can you say, hey, it's okay if you
- 54:27Speaker 2: have plans already, I'd love to take you out for
- 54:29Speaker 2: a cocktail again with the tension, build it, let.
- 54:33Speaker 1: It, let it grow, let it grow to the bag.
- 54:35Speaker 2: Also, if I'm you, I wouldn't want to do anything
- 54:38Speaker 2: before my big seminar on Saturday.
- 54:41Speaker 1: Correct.
- 54:41Speaker 2: I would want to like prepare, get myself in a
- 54:43Speaker 2: good headspace. Whereas I feel like the whole Sunrise breakfast thing,
- 54:48Speaker 2: I feel like that that would make me feel discompopulated,
- 54:51Speaker 2: Like I would want to have like a good stable morning,
- 54:54Speaker 2: not something that's going to cause me a lot of No.
- 54:55Speaker 1: No, that's why it's Sunday. I was going to do
- 54:57Speaker 1: the Sunrise Sunday seminars on Saturda day, So it's gonna.
- 55:01Speaker 2: Be a well, why don't you do something Sunday night?
- 55:04Speaker 1: Sunday night, I'm going to zero because I'm going on
- 55:06Speaker 1: a zoom a cruise.
- 55:07Speaker 2: What can you do brunch with her? On Sunday?
- 55:09Speaker 1: I think I'm working?
- 55:10Speaker 2: Oh oh so Saturday.
- 55:13Speaker 1: Yeah, my life literally looks like every weekend I work.
- 55:15Speaker 1: So Saturday I'm doing Dare to Dream.
- 55:17Speaker 2: Nobody ever asked me to work Saturday.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Oh they're gonna start.
- 55:21Speaker 2: They have me drive a freaking Cerozota.
- 55:23Speaker 1: Just wait, it is common, it's coming. Okay, I'll shoot
- 55:26Speaker 1: that out. I gotta to see if our text messages.
- 55:28Speaker 1: I don't know, but I don't even know where my
- 55:30Speaker 1: head went. Then, well, I think I was just trying
- 55:31Speaker 1: to do the ship that I heard. Immediately, I was like,
- 55:33Speaker 1: take note, sunrise, that sounds awesome.
- 55:36Speaker 2: I think that was the thought is there? I think
- 55:38Speaker 2: execution is tough.
- 55:39Speaker 1: That's execution is to thought's good, execution bad.
- 55:42Speaker 2: Okay, on Saturday, we need to talk about Mark and
- 55:44Speaker 2: then we wrap this, so okay, after we're done. No,
- 55:48Speaker 2: this is actually before the whole jewelry situation. So anyway,
- 55:50Speaker 2: so Scotty and I literally are ending our are one
- 55:53Speaker 2: point five mile march around channel side as we chants,
- 55:56Speaker 2: and some guy DAPs Scotty up and I go, oh,
- 56:00Speaker 2: Scotty is another friend. Scotty knows somebody else here doesn't
- 56:03Speaker 2: know this man. So we're talking to this man. We'll
- 56:05Speaker 2: call him Shirtless because he shirt listened his names.
- 56:09Speaker 1: He might be listening up to welcome Mark.
- 56:11Speaker 2: He probably is anyway, So Shirtless Mark is literally just
- 56:14Speaker 2: dialed in talking to Scotty. I'm not even there. I'm
- 56:16Speaker 2: just standing there, like.
- 56:19Speaker 1: Bros have a thing of when we see each other,
- 56:21Speaker 1: like we just compliment again it's the same kind of thing.
- 56:22Speaker 1: I dude, look in Jack, and that's what he said.
- 56:24Speaker 1: I was like, talk about a way to get to
- 56:25Speaker 1: my heart boom immediately yo, And so I dab him up.
- 56:28Speaker 1: I'm like, you're looking Jacks. So we have a bro
- 56:30Speaker 1: out moment.
- 56:31Speaker 2: It was awesome just talking to Scotty. I probably I'm
- 56:35Speaker 2: not even there and said, and then just keeps going
- 56:39Speaker 2: and then makes a joke about how okay, wait, I
- 56:43Speaker 2: need to phesee this correctly. So he goes, you know,
- 56:45Speaker 2: there's another run club that I really love. It's called
- 56:48Speaker 2: bu Bah blah blah blah. You get to run more
- 56:51Speaker 2: and the women are better looking. Yeah, wait, should we
- 56:55Speaker 2: bleep out? I feel bad? We're kind of putting last m.
- 57:00Speaker 1: We could I feel bad? Yeah, we can bleep it out.
- 57:04Speaker 2: I have to bleep it. So shirtless shirtless bleep goes,
- 57:09Speaker 2: oh yeah, and then.
- 57:09Speaker 1: The way we can give him a nickname.
- 57:11Speaker 2: Yeah, but I've been saying shirtless whole podcast. Mmmm, so
- 57:16Speaker 2: I'll just call it shirtless Man. So Shirtless Man is
- 57:18Speaker 2: going on this tangent about how that run club is
- 57:21Speaker 2: more running focused and how the women are better looking there,
- 57:23Speaker 2: and I'm just standing there like, hey, I'm here.
- 57:26Speaker 1: That kind of caught us both off guard because as
- 57:28Speaker 1: we're having this conversation, I was just asking him about
- 57:30Speaker 1: all the different things that he checks out, because he
- 57:32Speaker 1: said he was new to the area. And he's like, yeah,
- 57:34Speaker 1: this one's really good because the women are really pretty.
- 57:36Speaker 2: I'm like, no, no, no, that's not what he's saying.
- 57:38Speaker 1: I know, I'm trying to give them the benefit.
- 57:39Speaker 2: He said the women he literally verbatim, ladies, I'm telling
- 57:42Speaker 2: you verbatim this man said, and the women are better looking. Honestly,
- 57:46Speaker 2: he goes look around, the women are better looking. Well.
- 57:48Speaker 1: It was so weird because I was wondering why, and
- 57:51Speaker 1: I think I think he thought we were together personally you.
- 57:54Speaker 2: Think so mm hm, because I think that's right. But
- 57:56Speaker 2: the only reason I wonder if he was interested in
- 57:59Speaker 2: you is he kept following you around.
- 58:02Speaker 1: Maybe I have an aura.
- 58:04Speaker 2: I do think you have an aura.
- 58:06Speaker 1: Like just a friendly because I am. I'm friendly. I
- 58:07Speaker 1: walk around those places with a smile on my face.
- 58:10Speaker 1: I want to be as welcoming as possible.
- 58:11Speaker 2: She was like tracking you down like I we were.
- 58:14Speaker 2: We were trying this all natural sunscreen because there's all
- 58:16Speaker 2: these vendors and Scotty and I are getting lathered up
- 58:18Speaker 2: with this cocoa butter, Shady Butter Lavender Oil, Brownie Mix sunscreen.
- 58:26Speaker 1: We wrote out we had a friendship. It's just that
- 58:27Speaker 1: was that was the one line where I was like,
- 58:29Speaker 1: all right, bro, like come on now that you can't
- 58:31Speaker 1: say stuff like that.
- 58:32Speaker 2: So anyway, he kept coming around and talk to Scotty.
- 58:34Speaker 2: I'm like, hey, I'm here too. But maybe, yeah, that
- 58:36Speaker 2: makes a lot more sense in hindsight if you thought
- 58:38Speaker 2: we were together.
- 58:39Speaker 1: Yeah, because I think there's a thing occasionally where it's
- 58:43Speaker 1: you don't want to feel like you're hating on somebody
- 58:45Speaker 1: else's person. So I think he would like look over
- 58:48Speaker 1: at you. But then he was just keep talking to me.
- 58:49Speaker 2: That's why I think, well, he wouldn't look at me.
- 58:51Speaker 2: So I was like like, hey, hey, hey, I'm I'm
- 58:55Speaker 2: having on the front too. I think I tried to
- 58:57Speaker 2: say something that said like I don't know, maybe you're intimidating,
- 59:01Speaker 2: maybe I am.
- 59:02Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know. But also he seemed younger.
- 59:05Speaker 1: He did see he might have thought we were together,
- 59:06Speaker 1: and so he didn't want to step on any toes,
- 59:08Speaker 1: ruffle any feathers, and then I think that might have
- 59:10Speaker 1: been I'll get his comment was not okay, Like if
- 59:12Speaker 1: I ever talked to him like my friends, we don't
- 59:14Speaker 1: talk like that. Yeah, that is horrible, but I think
- 59:16Speaker 1: he felt comfortable saying that because he probably thought we
- 59:19Speaker 1: were together, you weren't even available.
- 59:20Speaker 2: So I would, Oh, that makes so much sense because
- 59:22Speaker 2: I'm sitting there being like, well, I showed up, So
- 59:26Speaker 2: I guess he's talking about the single women that show up.
- 59:29Speaker 2: The single women that show up in his mind are
- 59:32Speaker 2: not up to par.
- 59:34Speaker 1: Which again still a fucked up thing to say, is
- 59:37Speaker 1: still a weird thing to say, and you know, in
- 59:39Speaker 1: front of a lady, in front of a lady, But
- 59:41Speaker 1: also like that's just like weird guy culture that eventually
- 59:44Speaker 1: you grow out of. That's why I'm like, I bet
- 59:46Speaker 1: he's younger than me. Yeah, And I even if he
- 59:48Speaker 1: listens to this, that's that's a learning moment because I
- 59:51Speaker 1: used to. I was in a fraternity, for God's sakes.
- 59:52Speaker 1: The things that were said were horrible.
- 59:55Speaker 2: No, no, literally, and girls can be the same way too,
- 59:57Speaker 2: And I think we give each other the benefit of
- 59:59Speaker 2: the doubt because you know, don't really mean it, like
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: I don't think he said that going yeah and looking
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: over at me maybe like you're ugly. No, I think
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: it was a generalization of every time I go to
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: that place, the women are super hot, and maybe I
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: just don't feel the same way.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: And also guys are weird because we'll say stuff like
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: that to like kind of like like fit in a
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: little bit, Yeah, to kind of seem like we're we're
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: bros man. Yeah, and who knows, maybe you know what,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: You're gonna say it, but now say it, say it's gotty,
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: I'll bleave it out if it's bad. If it's bad,
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: I'll blee. Okay.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: I was gonna say, like, let's say, hypothetically, if he
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: was into.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: Me, which I kind of I was wondering.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: And he was testing the waters by saying that to
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: see how I responded.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: Possible because that I think the only reason I didn't
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: immediately think he thought we were together is I felt
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: like it was so obvious that we weren't together.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: Yeah, but again, I mean, there are couples that walk
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: around like that all the time. Yeah, we're it's just
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: super casual.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Yeah, Because I wasn't like we were we were we
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: were kind of far apart, you know what I mean,
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: Like my body language wasn't like, oh, my boyfriend.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: Well except for that part where we literally held hands
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: the entire lap around Harbor Island and then you you know,
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: I jumped on your bag and yeah yeah, and.
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: Then we dry hummed on the bench. I forgot about that.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: There's a one of the initiation which okay, everyone's doing it.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: Everyone was doing it, including Shirtless Bleep.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: Yeah, well I think that's if they I don't know.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: I think it was pretty obvious. But again, if you're
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: still new to us, you might just assume a guy
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: girl there to.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: Go because then also, okay, so then after we talked
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: to Shirtless Bleep, we walk over to this other girl
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: with a dog, and then this other guy approached us,
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: and then I thought, oh, he's with her. I thought
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: that too, I thought they were together. And then she
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: left and he stayed, and it was very clear he
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: was trying to talk to me because he was because
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: he was from Atlanta, and he was like, oh, I
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: live at the Battery, which the Battery is where Atlanta
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: Braves play, and I was wearing an Atlanta Braves hat,
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: and I was like, oh, this man specifically came over
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: because I had the braves hat on. Yeah, but so
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: he caught avibe that I wasn't with you.
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: Yeah. I think it's also again proximity. We looked in
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: that moment. Again, I'm so socially. I love these things.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: I love social interactions. So we're with another girl, So
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: now that adds a different element of it. So now
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: it's another girl. Dog, you me good amount of space
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: between all of us. That's an opening. Yeah, two girls,
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: one guy. I don't walk up, two girls, one dog.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: I can walk up. That's my clear opening, which I thought.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: I mean, she was really cute too, but I thought
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: he was with.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: Her because they were mingling.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: And then she left and so it's like, oh, maybe
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: they're not together.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Yeah, And then he stayed around. He was trying to
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: flirt with Abbey, and Abby was so funny because I
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: think he said something.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: And he like, oh, he made fun of Buckhead. I
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: was like, so what were you going to say? Oh?
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: I think because I think you guys played back and
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: forth like that very well, a little bit like he
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: said something and I'm like, you dissed it or turned
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: it down or you said something, and he completely turned
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: it down. I was like, you guys try to get
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: on the same page here.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: I just well, yeah, no, Well, I think he was
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: trying to have like some friction, and I was like
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: trying to defend where I just moved from, because I'm like,
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: I love where. I love Atlanta. I just came from Atlanta.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: So anyway we're talking about Atlanta. He just moved from Atlanta.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: I'm like, I just moved from Atlanta. And he's like,
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: where did you live? And I was like, oh, I
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: lived in Buckhead and he goes, what did he say
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: about Buckhead? He was like, oh, that's scary, and I
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: go scary. I'm like, you lived at the Battery. I'm
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: like there was just a shooting there, and he goes, no,
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: there's like nefarious activities in Buckhead. I'm like, Buckhead is
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: literally just channel side, but in Atlanta.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I felt like the back and forth. I was
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: literally thinking this in the moment. I was like, it's
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: cute to have a little friction, a little friction, but
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: it went too far.
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: I was like, now, kaeels like, you guys are arguing
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: he's a little drunk. That he was drunk though, so
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: I think he kept doubling down. He kept doubling down,
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: and I was like yeah. I was like no, I
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: was like, have you have you been to College Park?
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: I'm like that's scary?
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: Yeah, Buckhead Village? Are you kidding? Where the ermez is?
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: Are you kidding?
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: Yeah? I think it was a playful. Yeah, that's it.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: Guys have this weird thing and trying to be right
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: all the time. And I think he like, if he
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: could have said it once, it's like a playful and
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: then he could have just dropped it and then like
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: you're right.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: Yeah, No, he was too, Yeah, yeah he was. He
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: had mentioned that he had been at a run club
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: the night before, and I think he was like, I
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: deserved the seventh drink.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: Was it a Wednesday night? Go hard? Shiny shoes?
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: Let's go oh yeah, we love shiny shoes.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: It was a success though all the interactions. We didn't
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: need to overdo it, we didn't need to force it,
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: but we still had social interaction. We still got to
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: witness what it was like out in the wild. And now, actually,
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: there's a bunch of run clubs that are hitting me up,
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: telling me that we need to go visit there.
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: Why does no one hit me up.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: Because there's a couple that I'm already attached to, Gotcha,
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: that I've been a part of, and I have a
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: lot of friends like Panella's run Club? Should we they
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: want us?
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: Now? Should we go? Oh? We should go to a
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: Panella's run club.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a huge one. When do you do it
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: Thursday nights?
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: I'll go, Yeah, to go check it out. And that's
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: what Well, I need a break between run clubs. It's
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: a lot of social interaction.
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: What we should go to the one that Shirtless Bleep
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: told us to go to?
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, I know, because.
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: We should see if the women are actually hotter.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: I thought the women yesterday were beautiful.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: I know. That's why it didn't make sense to me.
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: I was like, I was like, do you have facial dysmorphia?
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: Looking for Giselle Bunchin or whatever.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: It's just a weird guy thing to try to like,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: you know, hey, bro, I'm cool too, kind of deal anyway. Yeah,
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: he'll grow past it, but we'll do another one then.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: It'll be great.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: Well, are we doing another one in these tomorrow?
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: Yeah? Okay, you're gonna We're gonna try and keep you
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: all fed because Scotty's out next week.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: Well, I'm gonna have a lot of I'm sure a
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: lot of different stories if I make it back. You know,
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: I'm doing a submarine on the ship. Yep. We're doing
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: an excursion in the summer. And it scares the crap on.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, don't. Oh my god, I'm gonna get
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: the show.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: Oh my god, oh this yeah, yeah, we gotta actually talk.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's it.
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: It's gonna make Scotty's salary plus endorsements.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: This is actually back in the day, it used to
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: be scary to leave because somebody could take in and
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: do better than you and they could take your spot.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: Now it's just me and you're like, I'm good.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: I don't think you want this spot.
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: I don't want to do it by myself.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not no, no, no, everyone fits very nicely
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: right now. I like it all right, Abby? What's your
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: social media Murphy? All those hate us to just here
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: they come. Mine is that Scott Tavlin s C O
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: T T T A V L I N. And like
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: I always say, hit up the Magic ninety four nine
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: Instagram as well. We would love some followers there and
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: some love some interactions
