- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:05Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus at the ten yard line. Second to eight
- 0:08Speaker 1: free wide receivers now in motion has Bumpas left to right,
- 0:11Speaker 1: Julius Jones a single setback Matt Pumpfe's looking at the
- 0:14Speaker 1: goal line. He throws it into the end zone. Touchdown.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumpus with a diving catching the
- 0:21Speaker 1: end zone our ten yard touchdown reception for Puppus and
- 0:25Speaker 1: the kid out of Washington State has found himself a
- 0:29Speaker 1: place on this team. Powered by Seahawks dot Com. What's Up? Twelve?
- 0:34Speaker 1: This is Michael Bumpus along with Nason Shoby and Missus
- 0:37Speaker 1: Hawk Talk Recape Dish, and the Seahawks beat the forty
- 0:40Speaker 1: nine ers thirty seven to twenty seven, a double digit win,
- 0:45Speaker 1: something we ain't used to. Well, Before we talk about
- 0:48Speaker 1: other specifics, Let's get into the trenches with Ray Roberts.
- 0:53Speaker 1: It's time to go inside the trenches with former Seahawk
- 0:56Speaker 1: Ray Roberts. What hell, Ray? What's that big dog? How
- 1:01Speaker 1: you doing? No? Six and one victory Monday? Life is good, man,
- 1:07Speaker 1: So let's let's get right into it now. Running back
- 1:10Speaker 1: wise the Seahawks are banging the right Chris Chris Carson
- 1:13Speaker 1: is gone, Homer's gone. You still have Penny who's working
- 1:16Speaker 1: his stuff out. You had to rely on rookie DJ Dallas.
- 1:20Speaker 1: What did you see out of the young fellow? You
- 1:23Speaker 1: know what I saw? Uh? You know, I was thinking
- 1:25Speaker 1: about this, uh this morning, and I didn't really think
- 1:28Speaker 1: it through this way yesterday. But all of the production
- 1:32Speaker 1: from the running back position was out of the game.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I mean every you know, most of the you know,
- 1:38Speaker 1: probably ninety nine percent of the yardish gained and all
- 1:41Speaker 1: that the scoring from the running back position was out
- 1:45Speaker 1: of the game. And so to be down to one
- 1:47Speaker 1: running back who's a rookie, who's a late round draft pick, uh,
- 1:52Speaker 1: you know, and still trying to just learn how to
- 1:54Speaker 1: be a pro in the shortened preseason and all that
- 1:57Speaker 1: kind of stuff. There was a lot on his shoulders.
- 2:01Speaker 1: And the numbers are not spectacular, but you can see
- 2:05Speaker 1: his confidence grow as the game went on. His ability
- 2:09Speaker 1: to put his foot in the ground and find the
- 2:11Speaker 1: hole and just kind of get the yardage that was there,
- 2:13Speaker 1: His ability to catch the ball out of the backfield
- 2:16Speaker 1: and pick up yards that way, The fact that he
- 2:18Speaker 1: scored two touchdowns. So the production from that position, you know,
- 2:23Speaker 1: from a yard yards perspective, may not have been where
- 2:26Speaker 1: you wanted, but from the putting points on the board perspective,
- 2:29Speaker 1: it was right in line with what the guys have
- 2:31Speaker 1: been doing that we're playing in front of him, Carson
- 2:34Speaker 1: and Carlos had and the guys, And so I was
- 2:38Speaker 1: really pleased at not just his approach to the day,
- 2:42Speaker 1: but also the Seahawks approach to the day. So they
- 2:44Speaker 1: didn't really shy away from continuing to use the run
- 2:49Speaker 1: as a threat, and I think that was important to
- 2:53Speaker 1: to the Seaffs really overcoming all of the absences they
- 2:56Speaker 1: had on the offense, So throwing short of passes still,
- 3:01Speaker 1: you know, handing the ball off to the rookie, letting
- 3:03Speaker 1: him kind of get a feel for the game and
- 3:05Speaker 1: what he could do and what he could provide for
- 3:07Speaker 1: that day. I thought, you know that it was a
- 3:09Speaker 1: pretty good approach. It was effective, even though it wasn't,
- 3:12Speaker 1: like I said, spectacular, but it was effective into allowing
- 3:15Speaker 1: them to play the type of offense they wanted to play. Yeah,
- 3:19Speaker 1: I'm with you, right, I think people get caught up
- 3:21Speaker 1: in the numbers, right, He didn't rush for one hundred yards.
- 3:24Speaker 1: He didn't do this, But what he did do was
- 3:25Speaker 1: score two touchdowns he can chigue in the past game.
- 3:28Speaker 1: And then he scored a run too. But that's kind
- 3:30Speaker 1: of like what Chris Carson has been doing this far
- 3:33Speaker 1: so far this year anyway, right, not big numbers, but
- 3:35Speaker 1: he's getting into the end zone. Well, I know, at
- 3:38Speaker 1: one point, Carson was Averton right around thirteen carries and
- 3:42Speaker 1: around sixty yards a game. And so the fact that
- 3:48Speaker 1: DJ Dallas, you know, he had eighteen carries for for
- 3:51Speaker 1: forty one yards, that's still kind of right in the
- 3:54Speaker 1: same vein of what they were asking Chris Carson to do.
- 3:58Speaker 1: You know. Obviously Chris at this point for is a
- 4:00Speaker 1: bigger threat running the ball and breaking tackles and and
- 4:03Speaker 1: and really playing physical game. But then in the passing game,
- 4:06Speaker 1: you know, Chris, the first handful of touchdowns he had
- 4:09Speaker 1: this year were receptions, and so then DJ was able
- 4:13Speaker 1: to come in and replicate that as well. And so
- 4:16Speaker 1: for for a guy who, like Pete said, was taken off,
- 4:20Speaker 1: they had to slow him down from taking all the
- 4:21Speaker 1: reps in practice, uh this week for it to be
- 4:24Speaker 1: his first start, for him to have to carry that
- 4:27Speaker 1: much responsibility. I thought that he that he represented himself
- 4:31Speaker 1: well and and then even on top of that, I
- 4:33Speaker 1: feel like the Seahawks showed confidence, uh and what they're
- 4:37Speaker 1: capable of going on office and what he can bring
- 4:39Speaker 1: to the to the table to help them do that.
- 4:41Speaker 1: So I was I was really pleased with what the
- 4:44Speaker 1: what the game plan once they got it going, I'm
- 4:46Speaker 1: with you where I was pleased as well, also pleased
- 4:49Speaker 1: with the play of this offensive line. They're missing Mike
- 4:51Speaker 1: you Potty for the second straight game. What improvements have
- 4:55Speaker 1: they made this year as opposed to last year. Well,
- 4:59Speaker 1: to me, they're younger, and they're more athletics, you know,
- 5:03Speaker 1: like DJ Flucker is a is a great dude, like
- 5:08Speaker 1: straight line blocker. If we're just gonna maul people and
- 5:11Speaker 1: just make it a physical you know, not worry about
- 5:14Speaker 1: your technique type of game, but just get your man
- 5:16Speaker 1: type of game, He's perfect for that. Uh. Upati is
- 5:19Speaker 1: the same way. He's not as athletic as it used
- 5:21Speaker 1: to be. He's more of a of a maler. But
- 5:24Speaker 1: now you have dudes and Aaron Simmons who's an athletic,
- 5:27Speaker 1: big strong dude. Damian Lewis, who is a spectacular rookie
- 5:33Speaker 1: guard who is, like Pete said, they stuck him in
- 5:36Speaker 1: with the starting group from at the first day of camp,
- 5:38Speaker 1: and he has to look back and he's just kept
- 5:40Speaker 1: getting He keeps getting better and better and better. And
- 5:42Speaker 1: then at the right tackle spots, um, you know, with
- 5:46Speaker 1: Shale over there, this is just way more consistency. Obviously,
- 5:49Speaker 1: you guys know that I love Jermaine Effetti like I've
- 5:52Speaker 1: always been a fan of his and I wish him well.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I talked to him a lot, but he was just
- 5:57Speaker 1: really inconsistent over there. You didn't know what you're gonna get.
- 6:00Speaker 1: You didn't know if you're going to get the big,
- 6:02Speaker 1: strong dominating a Fetti or the one that had was
- 6:05Speaker 1: riddled in penalties or misassignments, so what have you. And
- 6:09Speaker 1: so Shell has really done a really good job quietly
- 6:12Speaker 1: of just calming that side of the ball down and
- 6:15Speaker 1: uh and so I think that out of all the
- 6:17Speaker 1: offensive linement, he might be the one that's been overlooked
- 6:20Speaker 1: the most just because he's been so steady. And then
- 6:22Speaker 1: Postic I think has benefited from being healthy, but also
- 6:27Speaker 1: planned between two guards that can really play football that
- 6:30Speaker 1: can that can really like shore up his weaknesses as
- 6:34Speaker 1: it relates to like some of the power that he
- 6:37Speaker 1: brings to the table. He's always going to be a
- 6:39Speaker 1: great technician. He's always going to be able to communicate uh,
- 6:42Speaker 1: you know, uh to the quarterback and offensive line where
- 6:45Speaker 1: they're going and with the linebackers and this, that and
- 6:47Speaker 1: the other thing. His biggest question had always just been
- 6:49Speaker 1: planned with that kind of power and strength, and so
- 6:52Speaker 1: he's getting to that place where he's able to do
- 6:54Speaker 1: that also with the health of these two guards. And
- 6:56Speaker 1: so if you look at the Pro Football Focus ratings,
- 6:59Speaker 1: we've had more linemen in the top ten grades, uh
- 7:03Speaker 1: in these first you know, six or seven games, and
- 7:05Speaker 1: they had all of last year, you know, last last week,
- 7:08Speaker 1: I think in the top ten tackles for a win.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Raid in pass detection Shell was number ten. Duwayne Brown
- 7:15Speaker 1: was somewhere like in four or five at one week
- 7:18Speaker 1: with the with the run block in success, Damian Lewis
- 7:21Speaker 1: was like in the was in the top five you know,
- 7:24Speaker 1: guards in that situation to already kind of establishing himself
- 7:26Speaker 1: as one of the more productive guards in the league,
- 7:30Speaker 1: you know, and then posting has just been done and
- 7:32Speaker 1: you know, Dwayne Brown is Dwayne Brown, and then and
- 7:34Speaker 1: then Posting has just been doing a really steady job
- 7:37Speaker 1: of holding holding down the middle of that offense, which
- 7:40Speaker 1: a lot of times in pass detection, that is maybe
- 7:43Speaker 1: the most important piece. So when these outside rushers are
- 7:46Speaker 1: closing in on the quarterback and you get step up
- 7:48Speaker 1: and still have room to throw the ball, that is
- 7:50Speaker 1: all the doings of the of the center and the
- 7:53Speaker 1: two guards, and they've done a great job with that. Well.
- 7:56Speaker 1: That is refreshing to hear, right because we know these
- 7:59Speaker 1: last what few years have been rough on this offensive line,
- 8:02Speaker 1: and they've been getting a lot of criticism. So it's
- 8:04Speaker 1: nice to hear that they are producing and they're taking turns.
- 8:07Speaker 1: They're not like depending on one guy. Granted, everyone has
- 8:10Speaker 1: to be consistent on that line, but it's nice to
- 8:12Speaker 1: hear that guys are stepping up. Now, let's talk about
- 8:15Speaker 1: DK metcalf best game of his career on Sunday, and
- 8:18Speaker 1: that's following a performance by Tyler Lockett the week before
- 8:21Speaker 1: where he had fifteen catches, two hundred yards and three touchdowns.
- 8:25Speaker 1: How nice is it to have a one two combo
- 8:28Speaker 1: where you don't know where the ball is going to
- 8:30Speaker 1: go each week. It can be someone else leading a charge. Well,
- 8:33Speaker 1: I think it's awesome. And if you're Russell Wilson, you
- 8:37Speaker 1: know you have to just be in heaven because for
- 8:39Speaker 1: so long, you know, you may have only had you know,
- 8:41Speaker 1: you know, one guy that you were really relying heavily on,
- 8:44Speaker 1: whether it was Doug Baldwin or you know, it became
- 8:47Speaker 1: tied to Lockett for a while before DKA came. And
- 8:50Speaker 1: now really truly you have three or four receivers that
- 8:54Speaker 1: he can you know, he can throw it to the
- 8:56Speaker 1: open dues. So you have DK Metcalf, you have Tyler Locket,
- 9:00Speaker 1: you have h David Moore, you have UM Dwayne Uh.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Then you have the running back side of the backfield.
- 9:07Speaker 1: So from a from a passing offensive perspective, uh, I mean,
- 9:12Speaker 1: Russell Wilson is in heaven right now. And then you
- 9:14Speaker 1: have a guy like DK who can take you know,
- 9:17Speaker 1: a seven yard any pass, so so him, no matter
- 9:19Speaker 1: what the distance, he can take it to the house.
- 9:21Speaker 1: You know. And and and I will be the first
- 9:24Speaker 1: to say that, uh, you know, I don't know that.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I was a big fan of DK metcast before they
- 9:28Speaker 1: drafted him, just based on what I saw like in college.
- 9:31Speaker 1: He looked like the one receiver and one route type
- 9:34Speaker 1: of dude. He seemed to be injured quite a bit.
- 9:36Speaker 1: He wasn't winning a whole lot of the contested uh
- 9:39Speaker 1: fifty fifty jump balls. Uh just wasn't really using his
- 9:42Speaker 1: size the way I thought he should use it. But man,
- 9:45Speaker 1: this dude has come in and done nothing but outwork
- 9:47Speaker 1: every single person and to to to build himself into
- 9:51Speaker 1: a really complete receiver. Even you notice like yesterday where
- 9:54Speaker 1: he was using his hands catching the ball as opposed
- 9:57Speaker 1: to using his body in his arms. So every single week,
- 10:00Speaker 1: this dude is showing you something different that he's improved
- 10:03Speaker 1: on that you can tell he's been working on and
- 10:05Speaker 1: then and then also just shows his determination to be
- 10:07Speaker 1: the best. And right now, if you look around the league,
- 10:10Speaker 1: you cannot tell me you can't point to one receiver
- 10:13Speaker 1: and say that dude is one hundred percent better than
- 10:17Speaker 1: DK Metcalf. That dude is right up there in the
- 10:19Speaker 1: conversation with all the with all the receivers that he's
- 10:22Speaker 1: catching the long you know, go routes, he's catching slant routes,
- 10:26Speaker 1: he's catching those deep ends, deep outs like he's doing
- 10:29Speaker 1: it all and so the dude has really worked himself
- 10:32Speaker 1: into quite the receiver, and it just has to be
- 10:35Speaker 1: awesome for for a guy like Russell to go like, well,
- 10:39Speaker 1: you know today, you know, if they're taking away DK,
- 10:42Speaker 1: then Tyler can put up one hundred and fifty. If
- 10:44Speaker 1: they're taking away Tyler, then you know, maybe you know
- 10:47Speaker 1: more can get get a seventy or eighty yards and
- 10:49Speaker 1: a touchdown. So it's just it's just great to be
- 10:52Speaker 1: able to break the huddle and know that you can
- 10:54Speaker 1: just throw it to the open dude, and you have
- 10:56Speaker 1: a lot of dudes to get open. It's nice to
- 10:58Speaker 1: have those weapons on all offense. Now, let's quit the
- 11:01Speaker 1: offensive love affair. This defense needs some attention. They probably
- 11:06Speaker 1: played the best game they have all year in the
- 11:08Speaker 1: third quarter. I believe they held the forty nine is
- 11:11Speaker 1: to under four yards under four yards in the third quarter. Yes,
- 11:16Speaker 1: they gave up a lot of yards in the fourth,
- 11:18Speaker 1: but I feel like they were more in a prevent
- 11:20Speaker 1: type defense. Don't let them score the big play, give
- 11:23Speaker 1: them a lot of space. What'd you see out of
- 11:25Speaker 1: this defense? Right? You know what I saw was Bobby Wagner.
- 11:29Speaker 1: You know, like this defense even when you know the
- 11:32Speaker 1: leagion the boom was back that during their thing. The
- 11:35Speaker 1: real heart, the heartbeating like you know, like I would say,
- 11:38Speaker 1: temperature check on this defense was always Bobby Wagner. He
- 11:41Speaker 1: was a dude in the middle calling the plays orchestrating
- 11:44Speaker 1: that he's a quarterback on defense, you know, and in
- 11:48Speaker 1: particular in the front seven is where he you know,
- 11:50Speaker 1: obviously does all his work. And so the thing that
- 11:53Speaker 1: I really like is that you could see the bubbling
- 11:57Speaker 1: of frustration and Bobby Wagner after every game and having
- 12:01Speaker 1: to answer all the questions about all the yardage and
- 12:03Speaker 1: what are you gonna do and how are you gonna
- 12:05Speaker 1: do it? And then last week for him to really
- 12:06Speaker 1: just come out and like vent some of his frustrations
- 12:09Speaker 1: and say what needs to happen, but then to actually
- 12:12Speaker 1: go into the into the game and make that happen.
- 12:15Speaker 1: To look like the Bobby Wagner that we noted that
- 12:18Speaker 1: he's capable of, like the top linebacker in the league,
- 12:21Speaker 1: the ninety nine Madden rating that the gold fleets that
- 12:25Speaker 1: you get for doing all that stuff. All of that
- 12:27Speaker 1: Bobby Wagner showed up yesterday the way he his effectiveness
- 12:31Speaker 1: effectiveness and blitzing the quarterback like guys was saying, like
- 12:34Speaker 1: he was always good for four or five sacks a year.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Yesterday he looked like that dude where he had good moves.
- 12:40Speaker 1: He doesn't just rush and run into running backs for centers.
- 12:42Speaker 1: He rushes with a plan and uses his hands and
- 12:46Speaker 1: does pass rush moves. And he was able to get
- 12:48Speaker 1: you know, a couple of sacks yesterday and a lot
- 12:50Speaker 1: of pressures on the quarterback. And that set the tempo
- 12:53Speaker 1: for the entire defense to me. And uh, and you know, Dave,
- 12:57Speaker 1: I mean, Paul Moyer had him as his key hawk,
- 13:01Speaker 1: and he showed up as the key hawk because he
- 13:03Speaker 1: set the temple for the whole day. And so then
- 13:05Speaker 1: you look at the rest of the defense and uh,
- 13:08Speaker 1: you know, all the best missing pieces that were there.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Trey Flowers probably had one of his more solid games
- 13:13Speaker 1: of his career here. Uh, the kid Reed came in
- 13:16Speaker 1: off the bench and got an interception against his old
- 13:19Speaker 1: team and also got some pressure on the quarterback the
- 13:22Speaker 1: way he was blitzing off the side. Sullivan or old Sullivan,
- 13:26Speaker 1: the kid that was a tight end receiver. Now they
- 13:30Speaker 1: moved into a defensive and first play the game. Of
- 13:33Speaker 1: of his play, he gets in on the tackle in
- 13:35Speaker 1: the backfield. So there was a lot of people that
- 13:38Speaker 1: kind of took the challenge from Bobby Wagner and showed
- 13:41Speaker 1: up and played football. And I think you couldn't ask
- 13:43Speaker 1: for any of any better performance than what they did yesterday.
- 13:47Speaker 1: I'm with you. It was a complete team win. You
- 13:50Speaker 1: had a turnover on special teams, you had the defense
- 13:53Speaker 1: get after the quarterback, and then you had the same
- 13:55Speaker 1: old recipe on offense with Russell Wilson leading the charge,
- 14:00Speaker 1: and you had a rookie running back really make his debut.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Was fun to see as usual, Big Ray, appreciate you
- 14:06Speaker 1: taking time out of your day. I appreciate it, man,
- 14:09Speaker 1: And just one other just shout out to to just
- 14:12Speaker 1: Shotty because he's done a really good job of commending
- 14:15Speaker 1: the offense and calling his plays, uh, picking the right
- 14:19Speaker 1: plays at the right time, targeting, you know, finding ways
- 14:21Speaker 1: to get d open when he was kind of shut
- 14:24Speaker 1: down last week, finding ways to get the ball to
- 14:26Speaker 1: tie to lock his hand, including David Moore. Uh. In
- 14:29Speaker 1: the offense. I just think he's done a really good
- 14:31Speaker 1: job of orchestrating the offense this year. Big ups, Shotti.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Appreciate you, Ray Yeah. Third, All right, now we know
- 14:42Speaker 1: that the Hawks beat the forty nine is thirty seven
- 14:44Speaker 1: to twenty seven. But now we're gonna dig into it
- 14:46Speaker 1: and tell you exactly what happened. What had happened. Now,
- 14:49Speaker 1: see what had happened at first, what had happened was undo.
- 14:57Speaker 1: What had happened was buff What happened the Seahawks came
- 15:00Speaker 1: out and showed they are on a path to own
- 15:02Speaker 1: the NFC West, beating the forty nine ers thirty seven
- 15:05Speaker 1: twenty seven. And let me tell you something, man, the
- 15:07Speaker 1: way that game started, I was not comfortable. It was rough.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I mean Arizona game offense came out, guns blaze and
- 15:14Speaker 1: went down the field one of the best drives you're
- 15:15Speaker 1: ever going to see to start a game. This week.
- 15:18Speaker 1: It was back to back drives coming up third and eighteen,
- 15:21Speaker 1: third and twenty two. The offense is a completely out
- 15:24Speaker 1: of scence starting the game. But man, they tore it
- 15:27Speaker 1: up after that, scoring on six or their next eight drives.
- 15:29Speaker 1: But Bump, it's all about the defense today. The defense
- 15:32Speaker 1: has been getting crucified all season long. If I hear
- 15:36Speaker 1: someone talk about, how are the worst defense in the
- 15:39Speaker 1: history of the NFL one more time. I'm gonna I
- 15:43Speaker 1: know what the stats say. It just drives me insane
- 15:46Speaker 1: because these guys are too good. But it was great
- 15:48Speaker 1: to see them come out and show, at least through
- 15:50Speaker 1: three quarters what they can be despite how many guys
- 15:52Speaker 1: weren't playing. Yeah. I loved the aggressiveness on defense, the stunts,
- 15:57Speaker 1: the blitz is. I mean, I think I heard brock
- 16:00Speaker 1: you would say this morning that they pressured on fifty
- 16:02Speaker 1: four percent of their snaps. I think that's what you
- 16:05Speaker 1: have to do with this defense. You have to find
- 16:07Speaker 1: a way. If you're not able to get after the
- 16:08Speaker 1: quarterback with four guys, send five, six, seven, and rely
- 16:12Speaker 1: on this back end to get or done. You mentioned
- 16:14Speaker 1: that the first two series were rough. Your first play
- 16:18Speaker 1: is a negative play. Then you try to throw a
- 16:20Speaker 1: screen that's a negative play. You're back to when you're
- 16:22Speaker 1: backed up inside your five. Your playbook shrinks. You go
- 16:25Speaker 1: from this this big bible of plays to cliff notes,
- 16:30Speaker 1: a set of plays that you have, so that has
- 16:32Speaker 1: to be tough on Shotty. At that point, you're just
- 16:35Speaker 1: trying to get positive yards and switch the field with
- 16:38Speaker 1: a Michael Dickinson punk. Yeah, no, Like you said, it's tough,
- 16:41Speaker 1: and you can come into the game, you can have
- 16:43Speaker 1: every place scripted for that first drive, and you get
- 16:45Speaker 1: a negative played in a holding call and you come
- 16:46Speaker 1: up second and eighteen. It's hard. It's hard to keep going.
- 16:49Speaker 1: But more on that defense. The final number three hundred
- 16:54Speaker 1: fifty yards given up. Okay, that's not horrible. That's not
- 16:58Speaker 1: great either, but it doesn't tell four hundred. It's not
- 17:01Speaker 1: four hundred, thank you very much. It it's definitely not.
- 17:03Speaker 1: It was still their best performance, but through three quarters,
- 17:06Speaker 1: I mean, he scores twenty seven to seven, they were dominating.
- 17:08Speaker 1: That was the first time I've seen all year the
- 17:11Speaker 1: opposing offense completely out of what they wanted to do
- 17:14Speaker 1: and just looked flustered. Yeah. One pass defended last week
- 17:19Speaker 1: against their Zona Cardinals. Five passes defended this week against
- 17:23Speaker 1: the forty nine ers, and they didn't throw it as much.
- 17:25Speaker 1: That is refreshing. You got guys like DJ Reid making plays.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Trey Flowers had a game. This was the type of
- 17:31Speaker 1: game Trey Flowers needed. People are so ready to give up,
- 17:35Speaker 1: give up on this, dude. I'm like, come on, man,
- 17:37Speaker 1: you don't just there's no loyalty, be a bit more
- 17:40Speaker 1: loyal twelves. Give this guy chance. He stepped up when
- 17:43Speaker 1: he needed to, got his fingertips on a couple of passes.
- 17:46Speaker 1: I was happy to see twenty one do his thing. Yeah,
- 17:48Speaker 1: and people forget first of all, he was a converted
- 17:50Speaker 1: safety and started for this football team for two seasons. Okay, yes,
- 17:54Speaker 1: he's had a couple of rough games to start this year,
- 17:56Speaker 1: but it was great to see him get a couple
- 17:58Speaker 1: of passes, defend, give up nothing over the top, do
- 18:00Speaker 1: everything the coaching staff was asking him to do. So
- 18:03Speaker 1: it's a great confidence builder to help depth in that
- 18:05Speaker 1: secondary man. The Hawks shut the rundown, holding the forty
- 18:09Speaker 1: nine US to fifty two yards, rushing just two point
- 18:11Speaker 1: four yards to carry. Yes, they were banged up, Wilson
- 18:15Speaker 1: wasn't there. They had McKinnon back there and Hacy the rookie,
- 18:21Speaker 1: but every running back seems to produce in this offense.
- 18:24Speaker 1: So good for the Hawks controlling the run game and
- 18:28Speaker 1: making it making it making Jimmy have to make plays,
- 18:31Speaker 1: and at the end, Jimmy didn't make too many players.
- 18:33Speaker 1: It was the backup Nick Mullins who came in in
- 18:35Speaker 1: the fourth quarter and was throwing the ball all across
- 18:37Speaker 1: the field. Yeah, if you look at it, Jimmy really struggled.
- 18:40Speaker 1: I mean he throughout that game. He only had he
- 18:42Speaker 1: went like eleven for fourteen or fifteen, only threw for
- 18:45Speaker 1: under one hundred yards, one interception, no touchdowns. And like
- 18:48Speaker 1: we said, that was the key to the game. Get
- 18:50Speaker 1: pressure on Jimmy Garoppo, which they did. Three sacks, eight
- 18:53Speaker 1: quarterback hits, and he's gonna throw the ball. He did
- 18:56Speaker 1: that one time. So everything we talked about going in
- 18:58Speaker 1: the game. It was great to see the guy execute. Man.
- 19:01Speaker 1: It was a physical game too. Dave Wyman said he
- 19:05Speaker 1: a physical game with a capital F is what he said.
- 19:07Speaker 1: That's the type of game they needed. That's what they got.
- 19:10Speaker 1: You never want to see guys get hurt. But Coleman
- 19:13Speaker 1: was out Garoppolo, Kittle and Pennance. It wasn't even dirty plays.
- 19:18Speaker 1: They're just playing football. Cody Barton going around smacking dudes.
- 19:21Speaker 1: It was nice to see this defense kind of add
- 19:24Speaker 1: something to their identity, which is physicality. Oh yeah, first
- 19:28Speaker 1: play the game, Quadri Dicks comes out and just knock
- 19:31Speaker 1: somebody out right, and then you have Bobby Wagner blitzen
- 19:34Speaker 1: and doing all that. Everything he was doing, Cody Barton
- 19:36Speaker 1: run down special teams and knock somebody out. So it's
- 19:38Speaker 1: just good to see that popping. They're thinking about being
- 19:40Speaker 1: at Century Link with no fans there, we can hear
- 19:43Speaker 1: all of that in the past. We're definitely popping all
- 19:46Speaker 1: game for sure. And we can't forget the offensive line.
- 19:49Speaker 1: We just talked to Ray Roberts about them. They had
- 19:51Speaker 1: another dominant performance. Yes, Russell got sacked twice, but it
- 19:54Speaker 1: seemed like for the most part he had time to
- 19:56Speaker 1: do what he wants to do. When you see DK
- 19:59Speaker 1: run a host comeback, that is a long developing route,
- 20:04Speaker 1: but that means that old line is one one thousand, two,
- 20:07Speaker 1: one thousand and three. They're holding this defensive line in
- 20:10Speaker 1: creating time for Russell Wilson to work. When I see
- 20:13Speaker 1: long developing routes like that execute flawlessly, you gotta give
- 20:17Speaker 1: love to the big men up front. Yeah, And like
- 20:19Speaker 1: I said, it's always been a kind of an achilles heel,
- 20:22Speaker 1: at least to people outside this building about our offensive line.
- 20:24Speaker 1: So it's great to see that the offensive line has
- 20:27Speaker 1: now become one of the strengths on this team. So
- 20:29Speaker 1: they're playing really well keeping Russell upright for the most
- 20:31Speaker 1: part in this offense is rolling number one offensive the league,
- 20:34Speaker 1: number one in the league. Baby. All right, let's talk
- 20:37Speaker 1: about the guys who were making plays in our playmakers segment. Playmakers, Well,
- 20:51Speaker 1: there's only one place to start, and everyone's going going
- 20:53Speaker 1: with right here at number three. Russell Wilson's still just
- 20:57Speaker 1: showing he's an MVP talent. He is the MVP of
- 21:00Speaker 1: the National Football League. At this moment. He was twenty
- 21:03Speaker 1: seven for thirty seven, two hundred and sixty one yards
- 21:06Speaker 1: and four touchdowns and more importantly, zero interceptions. Russell's balling out.
- 21:13Speaker 1: It was just great to see him bounce back. And
- 21:15Speaker 1: I always hate to say bounce back as if he
- 21:17Speaker 1: played horrifically last week. He didn't. He still been over
- 21:20Speaker 1: three hundred yards, three touchdowns. He just had a couple turnovers,
- 21:23Speaker 1: was on the same page and a couple of plays.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Tried to fource some things there. But it was great
- 21:26Speaker 1: to see him bounce back and kind of let everyone know, Okay,
- 21:29Speaker 1: you guys are talking a little bit, but I'm still
- 21:31Speaker 1: that guy. I'm still that dude. Still that dude. Russell
- 21:34Speaker 1: Wilson has twenty six touchdowns this season after four yesterday.
- 21:39Speaker 1: The only player NFL hit with more through the first
- 21:41Speaker 1: seven games of the season was Tom Brady in two
- 21:44Speaker 1: thousand and seven with twenty seven. Is that the year
- 21:46Speaker 1: he threw like fifty those things? Yeah, that's the year
- 21:48Speaker 1: he set the record. So him and Russ were actually
- 21:51Speaker 1: tied through six they both had twenty two, and then
- 21:53Speaker 1: apparently in Week eight in two thousand and seven, Brady
- 21:56Speaker 1: went off for five. I was hoping at the end
- 21:58Speaker 1: of the game when Russ hit pocket that he was
- 22:00Speaker 1: going to get to the end and put it across.
- 22:02Speaker 1: But still, I mean, four intercepts, it's twenty six touchdowns.
- 22:05Speaker 1: I mean, let's be straight man that that's a solid
- 22:07Speaker 1: season for most quarterbacks. Yeah. Yeah, Aaron Rodgers had twenty
- 22:11Speaker 1: six touchdowns last year and he's considered one of the
- 22:14Speaker 1: best quarterbacks in this league. Russell's playing at a level
- 22:18Speaker 1: we've never seen. Yeah, and it seems like every year
- 22:20Speaker 1: he adds something to his game. And when you give
- 22:23Speaker 1: him the weapons that he has and you allow him
- 22:26Speaker 1: to really take control of football games, I think this
- 22:28Speaker 1: is what we're gonna see. Russell Wilson is also the
- 22:31Speaker 1: third player NFL history to reach two hundred and fifty
- 22:33Speaker 1: touchdown passes in his first nine seasons, joining Peyton Manning
- 22:37Speaker 1: and Dan Marino Hall of Fame. I mean, it's if
- 22:43Speaker 1: you're not talking about Russell Wilson going to the Hall
- 22:45Speaker 1: of Fame at this point, you're a straight up hater.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Russell is one of the best to do it. The
- 22:49Speaker 1: best Seahawk quarterback of all time, easily, no question about it.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Every time we talk about a new stat a new
- 22:54Speaker 1: record that he's breaking, he's only on the list with
- 22:57Speaker 1: Hall of famers. So I mean his trajectory's obviously to
- 23:00Speaker 1: being a gold jacket. I mean his four touchdowns zero
- 23:02Speaker 1: picks yesterday, this was the tenth four touchdown zero hit
- 23:06Speaker 1: game in his career. Only seven other NFL quarterbacks have
- 23:09Speaker 1: ever done that, to done that ten times, So Russell
- 23:12Speaker 1: Wilson is just balling out. And it's it's every week.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Man run out of words to describe this man. He
- 23:17Speaker 1: just people need to recognize his greatness and really don't
- 23:19Speaker 1: take it for granted. Man, because call if you have
- 23:22Speaker 1: family in Cleveland, ask them about their their quarterback life.
- 23:25Speaker 1: You know, if you got if you have family in Cincinnati,
- 23:28Speaker 1: over the years, or Chicago or all these different cities.
- 23:31Speaker 1: So appreciate what we got with number three. Appreciate, also
- 23:34Speaker 1: appreciate this young man. DK Metcalf at twelve receptions, career
- 23:38Speaker 1: high one hundred and sixty one yards, career high in
- 23:41Speaker 1: two touchdowns. This is following Tyler Locket's performance a week before.
- 23:46Speaker 1: It's nice when you have options, and with DK and
- 23:50Speaker 1: Tyler Locket, you never know who's going to be the
- 23:52Speaker 1: guy to shine. DK his very first reception was for
- 23:55Speaker 1: negative yards, negative yards and still bounces back, gets the offense,
- 23:59Speaker 1: go on with that ten yard dig that he goals, horizontal,
- 24:03Speaker 1: gets up, Phil, gets those knees up, got a block
- 24:06Speaker 1: by Jacob Hollister. A lot of people aren't talking about
- 24:08Speaker 1: that kind of sprung him. D K continues to tear
- 24:12Speaker 1: this league up well, and it's it's unbelievable. It's everything
- 24:15Speaker 1: you can do. Like you said, he adds something different
- 24:17Speaker 1: to his game. And then on Sunday he led all
- 24:19Speaker 1: receivers in the NFL with the jack yards He had
- 24:21Speaker 1: sixty three yards after they catch and he'll do it.
- 24:24Speaker 1: He'll do it all. If you come tackle, he'll stiff
- 24:26Speaker 1: arm you to the ground. Go'll shake you up and
- 24:28Speaker 1: get past you. He'll just muscle through you. So DK
- 24:30Speaker 1: is just I said it a couple of weeks ago.
- 24:33Speaker 1: He is superstar status at this point. He is. He
- 24:36Speaker 1: is that dude, He's that talent. I think he's fourth
- 24:38Speaker 1: in the league in reception yards. He's in the top
- 24:40Speaker 1: ten in touchdowns. And the thing about these guys is
- 24:43Speaker 1: top ten, he's leading, he's leading him unlocket tied up seven,
- 24:47Speaker 1: leading the league. It's wild. So and here's the thing
- 24:49Speaker 1: with those two, it's almost like they go in the
- 24:52Speaker 1: receiver room be like, ah, fam, you got it this week.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I'll kind of chill like this is your week, and
- 24:57Speaker 1: then they just go back and forth because honestly, it
- 24:58Speaker 1: seems like the alternative and if a defense tries to
- 25:01Speaker 1: take away one, the other one's gonna go off. Yes, sir,
- 25:04Speaker 1: Another playmaker, DJ Dallas, the rookie, got his first start.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Eighteen carries, forty one yards, one touchdown, five receptions seventeen yards,
- 25:11Speaker 1: one touchdown. Let's not focus on the yards. He put
- 25:16Speaker 1: up fourteen points in this offense. Your running back is
- 25:19Speaker 1: not gonna have There aren't gonna be many weeks where
- 25:21Speaker 1: you're running back, it has over a hundred yards. I
- 25:24Speaker 1: don't think we've had one Hundrey yard rusher yet this year.
- 25:27Speaker 1: But you want your running backs to produce. How do
- 25:30Speaker 1: they do that? They score touchdowns? However, they get it
- 25:33Speaker 1: and they get first downs. That's what DJ did. No,
- 25:35Speaker 1: And it's like it's a complete different thing. Last week.
- 25:38Speaker 1: He's kind of thrown in the fire into the game.
- 25:39Speaker 1: It's another thing to come in and say, hey, you're
- 25:41Speaker 1: gonna be the guy today. You're gonna take all the snaps,
- 25:43Speaker 1: you gotta be in the playbook now, all the protections,
- 25:46Speaker 1: things like that. And there there's a couple of mishaps
- 25:48Speaker 1: early in the game, but he made up for he
- 25:50Speaker 1: got a couple of touchdowns. So it's just as good
- 25:51Speaker 1: to see him get his feet way and get that
- 25:53Speaker 1: real experience because, as you know, you can never have
- 25:56Speaker 1: enough running back, especially what the Seahawks has gone through
- 25:58Speaker 1: last year and this year. But man, you want to
- 26:01Speaker 1: talk about this defense, it starts with number fifty four,
- 26:04Speaker 1: the best linebacker in the NFL, Bobby Wagner. I mean
- 26:07Speaker 1: he wags levin tackles, two sacks, four QB hits, three
- 26:10Speaker 1: tackles for loss and Bobby just came with that fire
- 26:14Speaker 1: was it was vintage Bobby Wagner and you could just tell.
- 26:17Speaker 1: I mean, he was playing with anger. He was pissed off,
- 26:20Speaker 1: tired talking people talking about his defense. He came out
- 26:23Speaker 1: there and was just a man possessed and they let him.
- 26:26Speaker 1: They allowed him to get after the quarterback, but they
- 26:29Speaker 1: found creative ways for him to give pressure. Bobby's not
- 26:32Speaker 1: the type of linebacker who wants to just drop into
- 26:36Speaker 1: zones fight off guards. He wants granted, he can do that,
- 26:40Speaker 1: and he will do that if he's asked to do that,
- 26:42Speaker 1: but he wants to get after the quarterback. He wants
- 26:44Speaker 1: to be aggressive. And it was nice to see the
- 26:47Speaker 1: old guy I guess he is on this defense really
- 26:49Speaker 1: be able to let lose. And you saw the passion
- 26:52Speaker 1: of them after every play. There was passion, there's enthusiasm.
- 26:55Speaker 1: You have to play with this game with enthusiasm and passion,
- 26:58Speaker 1: and when you have a guy like Bobby Wagner, let
- 27:00Speaker 1: him off the leash every now and then let him
- 27:02Speaker 1: go get the QB. Well, the thing about Bobby Wagner's
- 27:04Speaker 1: he we've gone away from him the last couple of years,
- 27:07Speaker 1: but he's probably the best blitzing linebacker in the NFL.
- 27:10Speaker 1: It seems like every time you send him on a pressure,
- 27:12Speaker 1: he gets home. And here's the other thing too. If
- 27:14Speaker 1: you think you're gonna have a running back pick him
- 27:16Speaker 1: up and blitz pick up good night, that's a rap.
- 27:18Speaker 1: That is a loss. Every single time that ball's not
- 27:21Speaker 1: coming out in one second, he's gonna get there. And
- 27:24Speaker 1: Ryan Baldinger was breaking this down on his Baldy breakdowns
- 27:27Speaker 1: and he's talked about like bowling pins because on one
- 27:30Speaker 1: of his second tack he comes through literally knocks three
- 27:32Speaker 1: guys down, including the left tackle. The running back gets
- 27:35Speaker 1: off the ground and still gets grappled into the ground.
- 27:37Speaker 1: So love to see that, love to see him being active,
- 27:39Speaker 1: and I hope we get to see a lot more
- 27:40Speaker 1: of that, especially with Jamal Adams coming back. Some things
- 27:43Speaker 1: that a game doing the blitz game will definitely help
- 27:44Speaker 1: us with that pressure. Be aggressive, Ken, keep being aggressive.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Another playmaker, DJ Read his first game active with the Seahawks,
- 27:53Speaker 1: he has six tackles, two passes defended, in an interception
- 27:57Speaker 1: right after a play that we thought was a turnover
- 28:01Speaker 1: with the fumble and Ryan Neil touched the ball, but
- 28:03Speaker 1: he was out of bounce. I forgot who recovered. It
- 28:06Speaker 1: didn't count. The next play, DJ read all over George Kittle.
- 28:11Speaker 1: George Kittle slips, he gets his hands on the rock.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Nice to see, DJ. It seems all you have to
- 28:16Speaker 1: do is get activated and you're gonna make a play
- 28:18Speaker 1: on this defense. Sounds like it. I mean, whether it's
- 28:20Speaker 1: Ryan Neil, DJ Read, it's literally any person that comes up,
- 28:25Speaker 1: Totefon Sulivan comes up, makes a play in his first
- 28:27Speaker 1: NFL play. I mean, it's wild the depth that we've seen,
- 28:31Speaker 1: because people forget we lost Marquis Player, which was our
- 28:33Speaker 1: starting Nichols start the year for the year. We lost
- 28:35Speaker 1: Bruce Irving, which was a starting defensive line for us.
- 28:38Speaker 1: So we've lost a ton of guys. We've been without
- 28:40Speaker 1: Jamal Adams for a long time. We lost Shaquille Griffin.
- 28:42Speaker 1: We've been incredibly banged up, so that contributes to some
- 28:45Speaker 1: of the numbers we've seen defensively. But it's good to
- 28:47Speaker 1: see the depth of these guys are having. Everyone's getting experienced,
- 28:49Speaker 1: and when their numbers called, they're making plays and making plays.
- 28:53Speaker 1: All right, let's talk about these receivers with the receiver
- 28:57Speaker 1: round up all right, talk to about DK twelve to
- 29:01Speaker 1: sixty one, two touchdowns along of forty six targeted fifteen times,
- 29:05Speaker 1: so it's very efficient. Tyler Lockett got going early and
- 29:08Speaker 1: then kind of faded away. I don't even want to
- 29:10Speaker 1: call it fade away. He just it just wasn't his
- 29:13Speaker 1: day to day. He didn't get the targets that DK got.
- 29:16Speaker 1: He was still four receptions off of five targets thirty
- 29:19Speaker 1: three yards. Demos swag all. He does score touchdowns. Three
- 29:23Speaker 1: catches eighteen yards, one touchdown, three for three when it
- 29:26Speaker 1: comes to targets and receptions DJ Dallas five catches seventeen yards,
- 29:31Speaker 1: one touchdown. Nick Bullard got into the past game. Big
- 29:37Speaker 1: first step that was on that that third drive that
- 29:40Speaker 1: got the offense gone. That was a third down as well.
- 29:43Speaker 1: He was in for pass pro. The rule is most
- 29:46Speaker 1: of the time, no one blitzes that running back can release.
- 29:49Speaker 1: That's what happened. There wasn't a blitz. He released, Russ
- 29:51Speaker 1: picked him up, he got north south, started to lean forward.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Nice when you see Nick Bulore on the stat sheet,
- 29:58Speaker 1: Jacob Hollis for one catch yards and Greg Olds the
- 30:01Speaker 1: man he had four targets but no catches. But I
- 30:03Speaker 1: like that he's getting his targets. You gotta keep this
- 30:07Speaker 1: the defenses honest when they play against the forty nine ers. Okay,
- 30:11Speaker 1: now we're gonna go to the coach's corner this week. Russell,
- 30:14Speaker 1: Wilson and DK get the offense going with this forty
- 30:17Speaker 1: six yard touchdown. As they walk the strong safety up
- 30:19Speaker 1: to the line of scrimmage and he does come. Russell looks,
- 30:22Speaker 1: grows back inside. Paul's caught. It's Metcalf who makes one man?
- 30:25Speaker 1: Now two men miss thirty twenty five twenty turns of field.
- 30:29Speaker 1: They don't touch him. Touchdown, Shayhawks. How in the world
- 30:33Speaker 1: did he tiptoe up the sidelines, two defenders breaking on him,
- 30:38Speaker 1: and nobody touched him? And DK Metcalf starts far on
- 30:42Speaker 1: the left, comes all the way across the field and
- 30:46Speaker 1: scores from forty six south. The Seahawks are on the
- 30:50Speaker 1: ford first six. Nothing. That was something else. I mean,
- 30:55Speaker 1: this is a display of speed and athleticism. Because as
- 30:57Speaker 1: I'm watching, once he caught the balls, like once he
- 31:00Speaker 1: took two steps, I was like, oh, he might go,
- 31:02Speaker 1: he might go, and he just hit the jets and
- 31:03Speaker 1: once he I mean the linebacker who's dropping in his zone.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Once he doesn't get him and he's coming across the
- 31:08Speaker 1: field like, oh that's tough now because now you have
- 31:10Speaker 1: guys that had ran routes up the field. Now they
- 31:13Speaker 1: turn into blockers like you mentioned Jacob Pollister. So it
- 31:16Speaker 1: was a really great play to see and it just
- 31:18Speaker 1: shows how I mean DK. Once he gets on his
- 31:20Speaker 1: horse man goodbye and another great throw by Russell Wilson.
- 31:25Speaker 1: He led him to the space and that's what good
- 31:27Speaker 1: quarterbacks do. He could have kept him there, set him down,
- 31:30Speaker 1: so he gets up field, but no, DK makes the incut.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Russell takes him where they no where no one is,
- 31:35Speaker 1: and now that's all this guy given ability. He makes
- 31:38Speaker 1: one guy miss with a little jazz step, gets around
- 31:40Speaker 1: the corner, turn on, turns on the jets, DK man,
- 31:44Speaker 1: I just didn't expect this from this dude. I knew
- 31:47Speaker 1: he was going to be a solid receiver, but like
- 31:49Speaker 1: you mentioned earlier, he's turning into a superstar. Like every kid.
- 31:53Speaker 1: If you watch football for real, you know who DK
- 31:56Speaker 1: metcalf is, Oh, no question about. And the thing too,
- 31:59Speaker 1: is like it's changing how he's defended I mean the secondary.
- 32:02Speaker 1: I mean we're talking with Paul Moore about this last night.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Is everyone is scared. I mean they're so scared of
- 32:06Speaker 1: his big playability and beating them over the top, whether
- 32:08Speaker 1: it's just a go or a deep post or a
- 32:10Speaker 1: deep over that dbs are open and turning and running.
- 32:14Speaker 1: So now he can just sit down at fifteen boom,
- 32:16Speaker 1: find a spot in his zone. So he he's opening
- 32:19Speaker 1: everything up and defenses are scared. They got to know
- 32:21Speaker 1: where fourteen is at every time, and then you have
- 32:22Speaker 1: sixteen now, so it's it's tough on defense. But like
- 32:25Speaker 1: you mentioned, DK Metcalf is definitely turning that page to superstar. Now,
- 32:31Speaker 1: we actually saw this formation we did on Sunday like
- 32:35Speaker 1: a formation. We actually saw this. We don't usually see this.
- 32:39Speaker 1: What is the nats. Here comes the Seahawk offense onto
- 32:44Speaker 1: the field and the Vikings defense trudging out there knowing
- 32:49Speaker 1: that one kneel down and the Seahawks are gonna wind
- 32:52Speaker 1: the clock down and women this one. It's the victory formation.
- 32:56Speaker 1: On Hawk Talk now we call the segment the victory
- 32:59Speaker 1: forma because that means the Seahawks won the ballgame. But
- 33:02Speaker 1: as you know, twelves in almost every game we've played
- 33:05Speaker 1: this year, it has come down to a final play,
- 33:08Speaker 1: so we weren't actually in the victory formation. But on
- 33:11Speaker 1: Sunday the Seahawks how to convincingly. The Niners came back
- 33:14Speaker 1: a little bit towards the end, but once we got
- 33:17Speaker 1: that on site kick, we got on the field, got
- 33:19Speaker 1: into victory formation, and Russell Wilson got to take some
- 33:21Speaker 1: knees to steal it out. And for the first time
- 33:24Speaker 1: all year, when we walked down to our post game set,
- 33:26Speaker 1: it was a nice, comfortable walk, nothing to worry about.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Game was in hand, So it feels good. Man. I
- 33:31Speaker 1: just want to think that the Seattle Seahawks for not
- 33:33Speaker 1: stressing me the heck out this week, really appreciate it.
- 33:36Speaker 1: You might have saved a week of my life. I
- 33:39Speaker 1: feel like I lose a week of my life every
- 33:42Speaker 1: time these guys play. But this game was all about
- 33:45Speaker 1: the defense. Yes, Russell had four touchdowns, We're spoiled. We're
- 33:48Speaker 1: used to Russell balling. Yes, DK balled out. We're spoiled.
- 33:51Speaker 1: We're used to DK balling. But this defense set the
- 33:55Speaker 1: tone early, limited the forty nine Ers run game, made
- 33:59Speaker 1: j Garoppolo look really average. George Kittle the best tight
- 34:03Speaker 1: end in the game didn't get off. I really appreciated
- 34:06Speaker 1: the effort by this defense and the scheme drawn up
- 34:08Speaker 1: by Ken and Pete Carroll. It's just great to see, man.
- 34:12Speaker 1: It just makes you feel comfortable again. It's getting you
- 34:15Speaker 1: back to what we're used to seeing. All this, all
- 34:17Speaker 1: the yards and all the other stuff that we've seen
- 34:19Speaker 1: so much has just been so not what we've we've
- 34:22Speaker 1: been accustomed to under Pete Carroll. So it's great to
- 34:23Speaker 1: see them get back to what we do for most
- 34:25Speaker 1: part of the game. Also, Russell Wilson, what did DK say?
- 34:30Speaker 1: The Russell Wilson MVP train is back on track. I
- 34:33Speaker 1: agree with you. I don't think it was really off,
- 34:35Speaker 1: but this reminded people like, look, I'm allowed to have
- 34:38Speaker 1: a mediocre game, but I'm gonna bounce back and toss
- 34:41Speaker 1: four touchdowns, be efficient, spread the love. I love seeing
- 34:45Speaker 1: Russell Wilson play football, and I love his again, his demeanor.
- 34:49Speaker 1: He's just neutral all day, every day, never too high,
- 34:51Speaker 1: never too low, spreads the ball around, Demo, got gotta touchdown, DJ,
- 34:55Speaker 1: gotta touchdown, DK got two all of when everyone's getting
- 35:00Speaker 1: the rock no, and it's great. Man, It's great when
- 35:03Speaker 1: you start a press conference and we can talk about
- 35:05Speaker 1: your suit game with DK and coach can joke around
- 35:08Speaker 1: the most hard at work man and show biz and
- 35:10Speaker 1: all that stuff, because let me tell you something, man
- 35:12Speaker 1: winning cures all. And like you said, spreading love DK,
- 35:16Speaker 1: Tyer Lockett. Either one of these dudes can go off
- 35:19Speaker 1: at any given time. And I just want to remind
- 35:21Speaker 1: everybody to find complete Seahawks coverage on seven ten ESPN Seattle,
- 35:25Speaker 1: the seven ten ESPN Seattle app or at seven ten

- 35:41Speaker 1: it's all good. You're gonna see them again in a
- 35:42Speaker 1: few weeks. And make that right. The Hawks get it done.
- 35:46Speaker 1: They beat the forty nine to thirty seven two twenty
- 35:48Speaker 1: seven as Century Link. They're going to the East next
- 35:51Speaker 1: week against the Buffalo Bills. Let's get them of seven.
