- 0:27Speaker 2: Sorry you couldn't make it in, but we got you
- 0:29Speaker 2: on the blower. I don'tone.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Yeah, all good, still here.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Well, it's been a week. It's been a whole week
- 0:35Speaker 3: since the Dockers beat you Long by nine points at
- 0:38Speaker 3: Opta Stadium ninety nine to ninety. Now the Dockers were
- 0:42Speaker 3: down by twenty eight points in the second quarter and
- 0:45Speaker 3: in the beginning there were a few sort of gimmes
- 0:48Speaker 3: that were really surprisingly missed, and what stood out was
- 0:55Speaker 3: that no one panicked.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think that was a The key takeaway
- 1:01Speaker 1: from the game is, yeah, it was a little bit
- 1:03Speaker 1: frustrating at times because obviously we were missing a lot
- 1:05Speaker 1: of the easy opportunities, but the reality was and I
- 1:09Speaker 1: feel like it was well talked about throughout the sort
- 1:12Speaker 1: of ground and when we came to the benches that
- 1:14Speaker 1: we were playing the way we wanted to and we're
- 1:16Speaker 1: getting a lot of opportunities, and we just knew if
- 1:18Speaker 1: we kept that at staablely positive and yeah, it didn't
- 1:21Speaker 1: panic that then eventually it will turn and we'll keep
- 1:24Speaker 1: creating opportunities. It did also make it difficult that Geelong
- 1:28Speaker 1: we're capitalizing on their opportunities, so the scorebook kind of
- 1:32Speaker 1: blew out despite the game probably not looking well, you're
- 1:36Speaker 1: not reflecting that. So yeah, well, I thought we did
- 1:39Speaker 1: a great job of just staying calm. It was still
- 1:42Speaker 1: early in the match when we were sort of missing
- 1:43Speaker 1: these opportunities, so we knew we had time and we
- 1:45Speaker 1: knew things were going well and we were playing the
- 1:48Speaker 1: way we wanted to. So yeah, it was good growth
- 1:50Speaker 1: from our group to not panic in those scenarios.
- 1:52Speaker 2: It's a real sign. It's a real sign of the
- 1:54Speaker 2: maturity and where the team is at at the moment.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Isn't it that you're able to, like you said, not lose,
- 2:00Speaker 2: You're cool, stick to the plan, especially after you know,
- 2:04Speaker 2: against an opposition like Geelong who are very very strong,
- 2:09Speaker 2: and it just really shows the resilience and the maturity
- 2:12Speaker 2: of where the team is at this season.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely, I feel like, well, obviously we've been playing
- 2:19Speaker 1: some good footy lately, and yeah, there's certainly some belief
- 2:23Speaker 1: and trust that you know that everyone's going to rock
- 2:26Speaker 1: up and do their job and play their role and execute.
- 2:30Speaker 1: And yeah, I suppose we're not too worried about I
- 2:33Speaker 1: mean the outcome of the scoreboard or you know, obviously
- 2:36Speaker 1: the game, but as long as we've been talking a
- 2:39Speaker 1: lot of that this year, about playing one hundred and
- 2:41Speaker 1: twenty minutes of for our footy, and yeah, we knew
- 2:44Speaker 1: on the weekend that we were actually were playing for footing.
- 2:46Speaker 1: We just want to quite scoring and yeah, so I mean, yeah,
- 2:50Speaker 1: we certainly didn't get disheartened buy it. But yeah, it
- 2:54Speaker 1: was pleasing that we were able to kick some goals
- 2:56Speaker 1: in the second half because we obviously needed to win
- 2:58Speaker 1: the game.
- 2:59Speaker 3: And then quarter third quarter incident, you were tackled hard
- 3:03Speaker 3: into the ground and you gave us a huge scare.
- 3:05Speaker 3: It looked like you really had hurt to knee. You
- 3:07Speaker 3: came off the ground limping again. It was it was Yeah,
- 3:11Speaker 3: it was not a good look. But then I don't
- 3:13Speaker 3: know if you walked it off or what you did
- 3:15Speaker 3: you seem to come back on later in the game
- 3:17Speaker 3: and played it out. What went through your mind at
- 3:20Speaker 3: that moment when you know you first tried to get
- 3:24Speaker 3: up off the ground.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I was a little bit. I was shocked, to
- 3:28Speaker 1: be honest, because I'll never hurt my knee. So when
- 3:31Speaker 1: my knee was sore and then I tried to get
- 3:34Speaker 1: up and put weight through it and I couldn't, honestly, Yeah,
- 3:37Speaker 1: obviously I panicked, yeah a little bit and was like,
- 3:40Speaker 1: oh God, what of this name? And I think I
- 3:43Speaker 1: got the free kick and the umpire was like, can
- 3:45Speaker 1: you take the kick? And I was like, oh, I
- 3:47Speaker 1: don't think I can put weight through it at the moment,
- 3:49Speaker 1: So I was like, I better get off and get
- 3:52Speaker 1: it looked at. But yeah, the great thing was by
- 3:55Speaker 1: the time I got off the field, I was able
- 3:57Speaker 1: to sort of get weight through it again and pain
- 4:00Speaker 1: and sort of gone down a little bit. So ye,
- 4:06Speaker 1: getting it looked at, but luckily the doctors are really
- 4:09Speaker 1: happy with it structurally, and yeah, I was able to
- 4:12Speaker 1: get moving and get back out there. So I was
- 4:14Speaker 1: a pretty lucky.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Bit of that cold, cold stuff and the spray can
- 4:18Speaker 2: on the side of the and back out.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Yeah, a couple of concrete and that works.
- 4:23Speaker 3: So yeah, you are good to go this weekend.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Yeah, good to go. Yeah. Yeah, train yesterday and felt
- 4:29Speaker 1: really good. So yeah, very happy.
- 4:31Speaker 3: The Doctors do continue to break records and and who
- 4:36Speaker 3: doos with this year? You had the thirteenth straight win
- 4:39Speaker 3: and that sets a new record for consecutive wins by
- 4:43Speaker 3: a WA based AFL team. The Eagles managed twelve in
- 4:47Speaker 3: a row. You broke that record. I want to think
- 4:50Speaker 3: that you all took a moment to enjoy that, but
- 4:53Speaker 3: I guess you're going to tell me, no, that's not
- 4:55Speaker 3: our focus. We'll think about that later.
- 4:59Speaker 1: No, we really focused on.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Yeah just a long. He didn't look I mean, he
- 5:05Speaker 2: looked mildly excited about it.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, No, I think one thing we were happy
- 5:10Speaker 1: about is that we had a little bit of time
- 5:12Speaker 1: off after the game, so we were able to sort
- 5:15Speaker 1: of enjoy each other's company. And yeah, I don't think
- 5:18Speaker 1: we spoke about that record, but yeah, we just spoke about,
- 5:23Speaker 1: you know, where we are in the season and the
- 5:24Speaker 1: opportunity we have in front of last Yeah, Jail set
- 5:28Speaker 1: up the sort of second half of the year really
- 5:30Speaker 1: well and we're looking forward to getting into Gold Coast this.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Week exactly to get Now it's all about the fourteenth game,
- 5:39Speaker 2: and that is against the Suns. And I know everyone's
- 5:43Speaker 2: calling it a revenge match and a match, and I
- 5:47Speaker 2: know last year I remember saying it. I'm sure, I'm
- 5:53Speaker 2: sure that's or is that is what you're being told
- 5:57Speaker 2: behind closed doors?
- 6:00Speaker 1: No, No, certainly it's some I've sort of almost to
- 6:04Speaker 1: raise that game from my memory, so thanking it up.
- 6:08Speaker 1: But no, it's a new year, and I mean we're
- 6:11Speaker 1: a different team that we were last year, and I'm
- 6:13Speaker 1: sure they are as well. So yeah, this week we'll
- 6:15Speaker 1: present probably some different challenges, but no, we're really excited
- 6:20Speaker 1: about it. And as I said before, our focus has
- 6:23Speaker 1: been trying to play our way for one hundred and
- 6:25Speaker 1: twenty minutes and I think we've proven this year that
- 6:27Speaker 1: when we do that well, we can't be beaten. So yes,
- 6:31Speaker 1: that'll be our focus.
- 6:32Speaker 2: So far this season. Your way is better than their way,
- 6:35Speaker 2: so just keep going.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the plan.
- 6:38Speaker 3: It's Sunday three ten is bounced down, throw up, It's
- 6:44Speaker 3: starting time three ten.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Good luck, Hayden, Thank you very much, guys.
- 6:50Speaker 2: All right, thanks Haiden. Yeah, looking forward to fourteen in
- 6:52Speaker 2: a row would be amazing.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Well, they've got that, They've got such a healthy list.
- 6:57Speaker 3: I mean Touch would really want.
- 6:59Speaker 2: To list in, you know, on the ladder at the moment.
- 7:02Speaker 3: So this stage of the season, not too many people
- 7:05Speaker 3: have only one out.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Let's see if they can notch up fourteen. I'm sure
- 7:08Speaker 2: they can
