- 1:14OK now I'm good. Holy shit.
- 1:18Off the rails ready. Late Night Live stream here.
- 1:22Nothing really I could do about it, but I am here.
- 1:25I missed last week. I didn't want to miss this week.
- 1:27I technically have some plans tomorrow that would have
- 1:31preclude me from doing the show any other time.
- 1:34Let me make sure I'm live on all the other things.
- 1:38Looks like we're live on the TikTok here.
- 1:41And a few other things. Anybody tuning in late?
- 1:45I appreciate you night owls like myself.
- 1:49My fiance just posted an adorable little thing.
- 1:53We're doing kind of a countdown to our wedding this summer. 73
- 1:57days, 74 days, 73 days, holy cow.
- 2:00But she just posted this thing about taking naps together and
- 2:06I'm a night owl and she isn't. So shit is wild.
- 2:11But I'm here. I'm making an effort.
- 2:13I appreciate anybody that's tuned in late to watch.
- 2:16If you're watching this on the replay, welcome.
- 2:18Ghost Cult is your 24/7 365 rock and metal news source and we do
- 2:25music news, interviews, music album reviews, festival and
- 2:29concert reviews all over the world.
- 2:31We have upcoming coverage of Rd. Burn Festival, Sick New World,
- 2:36and a bunch of other things. Yep, I'm having a liquid death
- 2:41in midnight. Awesome.
- 2:46Liquid Death just came out with this brand new flavor.
- 2:48I have this one from my fiance. Death Island.
- 2:52Like a tropical iced tea, which I gotta say is really good.
- 2:57We have a lot to get through. Melissa's here watching.
- 2:59Love you baby. Looking forward to some
- 3:03adventures with you this weekend and for the rest of our life.
- 3:07So missed May the 4th. I did do a live stream that
- 3:12night. I have my Millennium Falcon,
- 3:14Metallica ride, the lightning mash up shirt and some other.
- 3:18Our thumbnail was my Star Wars thumbnail for the week.
- 3:23But yeah, I'll drop the tip menu in a bit.
- 3:26But you know, basically we're here building a music community
- 3:30for metal fans, real metal fans, not people who see the garbage
- 3:34on social media. These click farm, click bait
- 3:37things. We had our biggest interview of
- 3:41the year is with Neurosis, which is amazing.
- 3:44We have a bunch of other things coming up that honestly are
- 3:47blowing my mind. Barney Greenway of Napalm Death
- 3:52and Braun from Mastodon, along with Mark Menge of King Ultra
- 3:58mega undead 6991 is here. I am.
- 4:04I always here. What's up?
- 4:05What's up. Ghost in me, West Virginia.
- 4:09What up? What up?
- 4:10Good to see you. Thanks for watching.
- 4:13We're just doing some late night rock and metal news drum cast TV
- 4:16welcome. I'm I'm known to love a drummer
- 4:20or two. So yeah, let's get right into it
- 4:24and we have a lot of show to cover and then I'm going to
- 4:27collapse and go to sleep. We always start the show with
- 4:29the announcements and we'll we'll just in big in this for
- 4:34the second. We just hit almost 2 million
- 4:37views on YouTube. This is 1314 years of ghost
- 4:41coat, soon to be 15 years and we got 1901 million 900,000 views
- 4:49and my partner in ghost cult, my co-owner Omar said to me, well,
- 4:54like a million of those are mine.
- 4:56And I thought that was pretty funny because a million of those
- 4:58I think are almost a million of those are mine.
- 5:01But yay us. This is all the hard work.
- 5:03We were also on all the other socials.
- 5:06We'll tell you about that in a minute.
- 5:07But thanks if you're watching here on YouTube, looks like a
- 5:09lot of you are here on the tube of you.
- 5:12Thank you again. Monday was May, the 4th
- 5:17Mandalorian and Grogu movie is coming out.
- 5:19Star Wars Mandalorian and Grogu. I really hope it restarts the
- 5:23franchise. I am clearly a huge Star Wars
- 5:26nerd. I was doing putting away some
- 5:29laundry today and I was like, man, I got a lot of Star Wars
- 5:31shirts to pick from. And I still love the original
- 5:38trilogy the most, but I'm very excited for this Star Wars
- 5:41movie. And to my fiance, I'm trying
- 5:44really hard not to just overwhelm you with nerd shit on
- 5:48a daily basis. I'm really restraining myself
- 5:51and I'm hoping you enjoy being along for the ride.
- 5:53But if you don't, you can tell me and I won't be mad.
- 5:57Just some things that we've been doing here at the site the last
- 6:00couple of weeks. We brought you the news that New
- 6:02York City's sludge and doom band Guts is going to make a new
- 6:07record or has made a new record and is putting it out through
- 6:10the very excellent Silent Pendulum Records.
- 6:12This is the record label of So Hideous and Cryptodaira and
- 6:17Seven Sons, friends of ours. Guts is a band we are very
- 6:21passionate about supporting like most bands just hard working,
- 6:25doing everything right, making really true to themselves music
- 6:30and I'm very much looking forward to their new album and
- 6:33hopefully doing an interview with them again.
- 6:37Oh you're it's fun and you're enjoying it.
- 6:39Thanks babe, I appreciate you. Also we premiered my own Hells
- 6:47new music and video that was kind of fun.
- 6:51Their album is out. Their EP is coming out now.
- 6:54Today we premiered the new video for Kurt Dymer.
- 7:00Kurt Dymer is is a horror movie, horror movie actor breaking into
- 7:04rock music and he's pretty phenomenal at it.
- 7:08Really great Hard Rock band, catchy but heavy, not soft and
- 7:13not just like butt rock, octane butt rock.
- 7:15It's like really good music. A grog is born.
- 7:19His new album comes out tomorrow.
- 7:21We premiered the new single and video for True and you can check
- 7:26that out on our site. He was awesome about sharing it.
- 7:31Also, we are still the media partners of many festivals, but
- 7:35Vodkin, Metal Battle Canada, the East Coast Finals is coming up
- 7:40soon and our own Omar Khoury will be there as a host as well
- 7:45as a judge. And again, you have just a few
- 7:48days left if you are anywhere near the LA area or you can make
- 7:52it to LA, definitely go ahead and check out our giveaway on
- 8:00our website on our homepage to win Echo and the Bunnymen
- 8:03tickets for their show at the Greek Theater.
- 8:07They're doing a career spanning set.
- 8:09I don't know how many more tours some of these bands have in in
- 8:12themselves. What's up Bean?
- 8:14Hello to you too. Sandra's here, Mags is here.
- 8:17What up? What up?
- 8:20And Yep, Beard Woodworks is here.
- 8:23Appreciate you all. Late night metal talk.
- 8:25Let's talk about rock and metal news.
- 8:27So yeah, we're giving away echoing the Bunnymen tickets.
- 8:29More giveaways and stuff coming soon.
- 8:33You know, we've just had a phenomenal year in terms of
- 8:36support from fans. And I want to give a little
- 8:38shout out. You know, from time to time we
- 8:42drop little, you know, we do free music promotion to bands.
- 8:46If you subscribe to us on YouTube and you screenshot it
- 8:50and DM us on one of our platforms, we give bands little
- 8:54mentions in our YouTube interview videos.
- 8:56Some of the, you know, our our Neurosis video has 5300 views.
- 9:00We're a small channel. We're still a small channel.
- 9:03But I do want to say that like, you know, we do try to help
- 9:06underground bands. We don't just talk about the
- 9:09butt rock bands. And I want to give a little
- 9:13shout out to the Anarchist Closet in Stroudsburg, PA.
- 9:18I have been a fan of many local businesses in that town.
- 9:23It's just a cool, you know, Pennsylvania's got its ups and
- 9:27downs. It's not just Philly or Jersey S
- 9:31Philadel. You know, Pennsylvania's a cool
- 9:33state. It's got a lot of things going
- 9:35for it, especially culture. And they have great music venues
- 9:38where we're lucky enough to cover bands at Mr. Small's and
- 9:43the, you know, the Sherman Theater and, and the Wind Creek,
- 9:47Wind River Creek Creek Casino, you know, theater.
- 9:52And I want to shout out the Anarchist Closet on Main Street
- 9:55in Stroudsburg, PA. Punk and metal culture,
- 9:59clothing, like just fun things that really throw it back for me
- 10:05to my time growing up in New York City, like the East
- 10:07Village. Very bohemian, very pure of
- 10:10heart. They inspire and help a lot of
- 10:14artists in their community to produce works that end up at the
- 10:18store, but they're just, you know, anything you need.
- 10:21I'm looking forward to going through there again.
- 10:23One of my favorite record stores is on the same St.
- 10:25Main St. jukebox. You've heard me talk about them
- 10:28and shout them out before, so anarchist The Anarchist Closet
- 10:32on Facebook and on Instagram. Give them a follow.
- 10:35Check out some of their cool content and stuff about the
- 10:37stuff in the store. I don't know if they sell stuff
- 10:40online. I thought at one point they
- 10:42might have, maybe they have an eBay store and we will go back
- 10:45and link that in at some other point.
- 10:48But I'm looking forward to getting back east at some point
- 10:50this year or next and visiting that town and checking out the
- 10:54Anarchist Closet. So thanks for listening.
- 10:57I appreciate you. I I'm just trying to help little
- 10:59businesses. If you got a small business or
- 11:01an underground band or a small record label or clothing brand
- 11:04that does punk and metal things or goth things, hit us up.
- 11:08We'll, we'll promote you free, no strings attached.
- 11:11We just like people to follow us.
- 11:12It just shows a mutual respect. We wrote a big feature last week
- 11:18on the anniversary of the passing of Jeff Hanneman of
- 11:21Slayer, an iconic figure in thrash metal history.
- 11:24I was fortunate to see Jeff many times, some of his best and
- 11:28worst performances, but he really is, he was and still is
- 11:32in many ways the lynchpin of Slayer, even though they're back
- 11:35doing shows and Gary was his hand picked.
- 11:38Gary Holt of Exodus was his hand picked replacement if he
- 11:41couldn't go on, which is really nice.
- 11:43But you know, love, love Jeff Hanneman and I love Slayer and
- 11:49I'm hoping to maybe catch them at some point again sometime
- 11:51soon. But I was very happy when they
- 11:54retired and I had felt satisfied by seeing them three times in
- 11:57the last couple of years. And I had seen Slayer like
- 11:59actually some of the most times I've ever seen.
- 12:01I've seen Metallica the most like 45 times.
- 12:05I've seen anthrax and seven dust 30 something times each.
- 12:09I think it's 30 three times each and Slayer about 30.
- 12:13So also passed away this week. I can't believe it's so long ago
- 12:20now, but it's MCA Adam Yok of Beastie Boys, a huge band in my
- 12:26formative years and still to this day.
- 12:29And, you know, just a legend. And he did so much for the music
- 12:32industry and the film industry and his fingerprints are still
- 12:36all over a lot of things in hip hop and movie making and indie
- 12:39film and everything. Also, David Allen Coe, very
- 12:44controversial figure, probably best known to our audience for
- 12:48doing a whole album with the 3/4 of Pantera.
- 12:53David Allen Coe and the Cowboys from Hell outlaw country artist.
- 12:57You see him here with his dime bag guitar.
- 12:59More on dime bag guitars in a little bit.
- 13:01He died this week. You know, he was trying to be
- 13:05very edgy and outlaw the outlaw guys.
- 13:08He wanted to like out outlaw people.
- 13:10I know that's not proper English, but and he made a
- 13:14record that was extremely, like, he felt it was satire, but it
- 13:19was extremely in poor taste and, and racist and no ways around
- 13:23it. And even just a few years ago,
- 13:24he said, like, I know I'm never going to live down those, those
- 13:28racist songs and that racist album.
- 13:30And I really shouldn't have done that.
- 13:31I thought I was being funny. And I don't know what I was
- 13:34thinking. And, you know, the New York
- 13:36Times even interviewed him to talk about it.
- 13:38Like, hey, you know, at what point as a society do we ever
- 13:42forgive people? If people fuck up and they're
- 13:44just unforgivable, What is unforgivable?
- 13:47Murder. You know, we've forgiven a lot
- 13:51of murderers, you know, pedophiles.
- 13:54We have a pedophile in the White House doing nothing about him.
- 13:57So, you know, while I liked David Allen Coe's music, I
- 14:00acknowledge that he's extremely, you know, had some extremely
- 14:03shitty takes and views and some music at different points.
- 14:07And he's a very complicated guy. And I'm sure there's a lot of
- 14:10other people out there where people like, I love Varg
- 14:13Veerkens, who's horrible. He's on, they're on TikTok, he's
- 14:16on TikTok. He's like one of the stars of
- 14:18fucking TikTok. It's mind break.
- 14:20It breaks my mind. He's a complete piece of shit.
- 14:22He's not that brilliant either. But OK, David Allencoe, rest in
- 14:25peace despite everything. We had a 78th birthday from Bill
- 14:31Ward of Black Sabbath. You know, we just lost Ozzy less
- 14:33than a year ago and Bill wrote a really lovely letter.
- 14:37I'll read part of it here. Hi everyone, I am celebrating my
- 14:3978th birthday today. To be honest, I never thought
- 14:43I'd see the day. Sometimes I felt I've LED
- 14:46multiple lives and upon reflection for a moment, perhaps
- 14:49I have. Today, upon writing this letter
- 14:50to you, my biggest task was to just adjust perfectly in a story
- 14:55to our youngest grandchild about how the moonlight dancing to and
- 14:59fro across the lakes ripples. Sometimes life can be more than
- 15:03extraordinary, and paying it forward is to say at the least,
- 15:07an ambitious task. Lovely writing.
- 15:09Go check it out on his socials. Bill Ward, may you rain for many
- 15:13years. My friend Jello Biafra has a
- 15:16health update. Again, one of my goals in life
- 15:18is to run into Jello Biafra here in San Francisco.
- 15:23Not physically hurt him, run into him like, but like actually
- 15:27just meet him. He's hugely inspirational to me.
- 15:30Jello's progressing nicely. His speech has mostly come back
- 15:33in full and cognitively it's like the stroke never happened
- 15:36in a very debilitating stroke just a couple of months ago.
- 15:39The left side is still weak, but it's doing much better.
- 15:42He has been living with me so I could care for him, but he is so
- 15:44much more self-sufficient than he was.
- 15:46He will most likely go home this coming week.
- 15:49So that's this week and I hope it.
- 15:51I hope so in metal history. Just a few bone mows about metal
- 15:56history if you're a fan. This week we had Blessed Are the
- 16:02Sick from Morbid Angel come out in iconic classic Mount Rushmore
- 16:07of death metal albums in my opinion.
- 16:10Testament. Incredible album.
- 16:12We have some more Testament news coming up later.
- 16:14The New Order. I just got this 2026 reissue
- 16:19from Nuclear Blast. Sherry as fuck I love it.
- 16:23Amana Marth Berserker, solid album, wasn't my favorite by
- 16:26them. I really don't re listen to
- 16:32Alana Marth as much as I used to but I do love John's Viking and
- 16:37the records before that. OK.
- 16:46Queen's ranks classic operation mind crime.
- 16:51A recent a recent podcast topic for for one of my podcasts.
- 16:57Super cool. Also Pantera, the great southern
- 17:01trend kill more Pantera news coming up soon or Pantera
- 17:04related news. This was a tremendous album for
- 17:07me in the mid 90s at the gates. I mean, you know, what can you
- 17:12say? I know we just lost Tomba and we
- 17:14just got, I have, you know, we just lost Tomba and I just got
- 17:19my new At the Gates record. It took a lot to listen to it
- 17:23just one time. I really need to spend more time
- 17:25with this record. It's it's great.
- 17:27But this is their throwback to their debut, Exodus Atrocity
- 17:33Exhibition B Exhibit B. This is probably the best of the
- 17:37Rob Dukes era albums so far, including the current one,
- 17:42Goliath that just came out. But I love this record.
- 17:44Absolutely brutal and brilliant. And also On this date in
- 17:49history, Hotel California was the number one song in 20
- 17:52countries, back at a time when there was only vinyl and 8
- 17:56tracks and cassettes and radio. I don't know why people hate the
- 18:01Eagles so much. There was a writer a couple of
- 18:04years ago who wrote a whole expose about why he hates the
- 18:07Eagles. It was pretty crazy, but here's
- 18:09Don Henley. I'm probably going to get sued
- 18:12out of existence just for showing this photo of Don Henley
- 18:15from the video of them playing Hotel California like the, you
- 18:20know, music video. So please don't sue me, Don and
- 18:26we let's do the live stream tip menu.
- 18:31You know, if you're feeling tipsy, we do get some money from
- 18:33advertising. But as always, we will always
- 18:38answer your questions free everybody, especially on TikTok
- 18:40and the gram jump. If you're up, jump in the
- 18:43comments, ask questions, comment, challenge me if you
- 18:48think I got something wrong, I'm OK about it.
- 18:51Here's where you can tip us. And also you can get us a, you
- 18:54know, buy us a super like or a super thanks if you're
- 18:57subscribed to us on YouTube. And here's our cash app if
- 19:01you're feeling generous. But it's all good.
- 19:03I always do this show. It will forever be free.
- 19:08I am trying to build a membership up for our sub stack
- 19:11and maybe do some private stuff there.
- 19:14Poppy is here. I hope it is the Poppy.
- 19:16I'm a huge fan. All right, time for some
- 19:18features. These are some major things we
- 19:20did the last week. Beside all those other things.
- 19:23Once again, we have an exclusive interview on our website with
- 19:27Zoe and Ashok Schmerda, formerly of Cradle Of Filth.
- 19:31We just we had some Cradle Of Filth tour news coming up with
- 19:34Suffocation. But yeah, Zoe and Ashok gave a
- 19:38lengthy lawyer approved Q&A about their experience leaving
- 19:43Cradle and the new music they're working on now, especially Zo's
- 19:46new album Catalyst Crime, which is quite good symphonic metal if
- 19:52that's your thing. Also, I did a live stream this
- 19:55last week. Jason Newstead gave a new
- 19:58interview to Dean Delray. You should check out the Let
- 20:01There Be Talk podcast. He's brilliant for a guy who
- 20:04wasn't a. Journalist in the 1st place
- 20:08phantom cadavers here what up what up D2 Nicole Dyer sorry
- 20:13Neil Dyer Austin so Jason two major takeaways and you can go
- 20:19watch or check out our website story or watch my live stream
- 20:23but the two major things is Jason had cancer and he beat it
- 20:26he's free and clear thank goodness we don't want to lose
- 20:28any more rock soldiers. I talk about this all the time.
- 20:32And then, you know, I think Metallica has been spinning the
- 20:38narrative about how he was kicked out around sound some
- 20:41kind of monster 20, you know, 24 years ago, 23 years ago.
- 20:47He quit 25 years ago. So now he's feeling free to talk
- 20:50about it. And I think they've been
- 20:52spinning a narrative that is not true about why he left
- 20:56Metallica. And to me, I was even more mad,
- 21:01forget about the base not being heard, I was mad about other
- 21:04things. But anyway, we love Jason here.
- 21:06I'd love to interview him sometime.
- 21:07He is coming on tour soon. We have his tour dates to share
- 21:10with you soon. Also, we talked about Slayer and
- 21:15their headline shows and how they sold out just like
- 21:17Metallica's things sold out very quickly.
- 21:19But hoping we'll add some more Slayer shows.
- 21:22I do believe Riot Fest is going to get announced either tomorrow
- 21:26or early next week and I wonder if Slayer is not one of the
- 21:29headliners there. Big interviews this week here on
- 21:33our podcast and YouTube, we interviewed Cryptic Shift.
- 21:38Anytime you start an interview talking about how great Cynic
- 21:42and death are and progressive metal and technical death metal,
- 21:47you know it's going to be a good interview.
- 21:49I chatted with them, phenomenal, their new albums out now and
- 21:53also my partner Omar talked to Frozen Chad of Frozen Soul.
- 21:57They're on tour right now with Avatar and a bunch of other
- 22:01bands, which is really killer. Great band.
- 22:04I'm I'm they have a new EP out now.
- 22:06They have a new song with Rob Flynn.
- 22:07Rob Flynn is everywhere. Rob Flynn is my favorite DJ,
- 22:11which is a a shirt that I'd like to get from the Martyr store.
- 22:16Jamie Josta, just some other things you might have missed.
- 22:19I interviewed Chris Naughton of Winter Phyliff, their new album
- 22:23and Undying Season is one of the best black metal albums of this
- 22:25year, out now on Napalm Records. Also, my new interview with
- 22:29Ultrasun is out, you can check that out.
- 22:32They have some tour dates we'll talk about in a bit.
- 22:35And of course, this show is a podcast.
- 22:37Our podcast is wherever you listen to podcasts.
- 22:40If you don't have time to find me once a week and watch this
- 22:43show live, I wish you could. But if you can't and you prefer
- 22:46to do your chores or you don't get ready for school or work or
- 22:50drive or commute, you can listen to our podcast.
- 22:54We have a lot of exclusive stuff over on the podcast, not just
- 22:57rehashes of everything. And because I don't have enough
- 23:00to do, I am the Co host of the Glacially Musical podcast Beer
- 23:04Medal and Swearing. We are back as a trio with Don
- 23:07de Lamont and we are continuing our series on the Bon Scott era
- 23:12of ACDC. It sure is an eye opener, I'll
- 23:16say that. And now it's time for the news
- 23:19rundown. And as always, we talk about
- 23:22metal festivals and we have just a bit of festival news to share.
- 23:26Like I said, we have festival reviews coming in the next week
- 23:29to the site. I just love this thing.
- 23:32Anyway, this is I'm going to tell my kids this picture of
- 23:35Erica Kirk was Mortis. Anyway, funny things make me
- 23:39laugh. Metal festivals.
- 23:40Let's Go Shiprock got announced for 2027.
- 23:44One of these years I'd like to go to this festival.
- 23:47You know this cruise. I'd like to go on a cruise in
- 23:49general. I used to work in the luxury
- 23:50cruise industry and I got laid off before I was able to go on a
- 23:54cruise after I made $10 million for my boss in 1/4.
- 23:58Hard to believe but Papa Roach Ice 9 kills, nothing more.
- 24:03Fuck them. Highly suspect, Bad Flower, Set
- 24:06it off and a bunch of other bands.
- 24:08The Stowaways All Star crew, a Shiprock sells out every year.
- 24:13It's one of the best run things in music and vacations.
- 24:18Pretty damn cool. Rockville already kicked off
- 24:22today with Guns and Roses and unfortunately 5 Finger, Death
- 24:27Punch and Ice, 9 Kills and awesomely Death Clock.
- 24:31The rest of the weekend has Foo Fighters, Turnstile, Bring Me
- 24:35the Horizon, My Chemical Romance and Day to Remember, Breaking
- 24:38Benjamin, A Simple Plan Avatar and more architects around
- 24:44there. Wild Zach Wylde has announced a
- 24:49new version of his Berserkis fest.
- 24:51This is actually looks really great.
- 24:53Co headlined by Lamb of God and Black Label Society on two
- 24:57dates, August 28th at Montage Mountain again in Scranton,
- 25:06Wilkes Barre, PA area and August 29th at Jones Beach Theatre.
- 25:12Down, Suicidal, Tennessee, Zack Sabbath and Dark Chapel will all
- 25:17support with the more bands adding soon a ride for dime hot
- 25:21sauce eating contest car show cover band.
- 25:26You know tribute bands coming up this weekend on tomorrow,
- 25:32Saturday, Sublime and slightly stupid are playing the Sublime
- 25:38Festival Meguta Sublime Megusta festival.
- 25:42It's interestingly named taking place Guess where in Fort Worth,
- 25:46TX. Sublime new album out.
- 25:49I'm I'm pumped for it. Sun's up.
- 25:54Proxy is here. Metal Forever is here.
- 25:56Bubba's here. Anthony, what's up?
- 25:58What's up? What's up?
- 26:02Sonic Temple, this is next weekend.
- 26:05We are pretty excited for this. The Fall of Adam is here.
- 26:11Chucky Brown Hood TV. What up, son?
- 26:13Good to see you. PMF is here.
- 26:18Also. Good to see you.
- 26:19I'll try to pop back in on the gram.
- 26:21If anybody's still watching, feel free to join the combo.
- 26:26Always free to support. Ghost called Sonic Temple is
- 26:29next weekend. My Chem Shinedown bring me the
- 26:32Rising tool, Breaking Benjamin, offspring, Marilyn Manson,
- 26:35Megadeth simple plan story so far.
- 26:39Architects day seeker behemoth Zach Sabbath looks like fun.
- 26:46Also just announced Riot on Fremont Street May 22nd and
- 26:5023rd. I was talking to my fiance about
- 26:52this earlier. I don't believe.
- 26:54I do believe punk rock bowling is not happening this year.
- 26:57Supposed to come back for next year.
- 26:59So there's kind of a fun little punk punk event happening in a
- 27:05couple of weeks. Memorial Day weekend.
- 27:14Milwaukee Metal Fest has announced their pre party on
- 27:18Thursday, June the 4th. Co headline by Amir and Jasta
- 27:23and friends featuring an All Star cast of metal heroes and
- 27:28probably many more. I'm really stoked for this.
- 27:31We're coming out to cover this. I've never been.
- 27:33I've been to Wisconsin, I've never been to Milwaukee.
- 27:35So I'm finally going to see Acid Bath again after like 20 years.
- 27:41Killswitch Engage, one of my favorite bands.
- 27:42Ministry, Napalm death, John Bush doing anthrax, obituary,
- 27:47suicidal power trip, machine head, Agalac doing multiple
- 27:51sets, death Angel, incantation, psycho Mico solo which he rarely
- 27:57does, pallbearer just unbelievable.
- 28:01I'm finally going to see macabre which has been like a bucket
- 28:03list death metal old school death metal band for me.
- 28:06I've never seen macabre even back in the back in the
- 28:11Milwaukee Metal Fest days. Chucky, what up brother?
- 28:14Great to see you. I hope you're well.
- 28:16Once again, as I said the last time you popped into our feed,
- 28:19if you got anything going on, shows you want to promote,
- 28:22friends, bands, putting out records, just DM me, you know,
- 28:25or Omar Holler at us and we will help promote them.
- 28:29And you always brother, always a pleasure.
- 28:33All right, what else? We just had the decibel medal in
- 28:39beer fast. The new the next one is Denver
- 28:42at the Fillmore down in Suicidal Tendencies and more to be
- 28:46announced. Those are your two headliners.
- 28:48That looks hella cool. I don't know about Denver.
- 28:51Denver in December. It seems really cold and snowy,
- 28:55but it's tempting. Never been only been through
- 28:59Denver at the airport. Maryland Deaf Fest is a couple
- 29:02of weeks away. It is the 21st anniversary of
- 29:05the festival and it is just stacked with talent.
- 29:10Oh my God, Whiplash is playing God, the Crown, the Tushka,
- 29:15whichever one that is. Destruction.
- 29:17Old man's child. First North American show ever.
- 29:20Second will be at Fire in the Mountains.
- 29:22Satan Fest. Someday I will go to Iceland,
- 29:26perhaps for Satan Fest in a future year.
- 29:29Sign Dima strip show. Hanford, the Haunted Voivod,
- 29:36just, you know, unbelievable talent in the black metal scene,
- 29:40both locally to Iceland and regionally in Scandinavia.
- 29:45All right, that's all the festivals.
- 29:47Let's quickly go through the concerts.
- 29:49There are many to talk about concert tours.
- 29:52Again, the Slayer shows are all sold out.
- 29:54I believe Slayer will probably get added to Riot Fest or at
- 29:56least one more thing between September and the fall, The end
- 30:02of the fall, those November shows.
- 30:06A Mon Clock tour continues. Coverage is up on our site right
- 30:09now. A pretty incredible tour.
- 30:11I'm really happy for Castle Rat, whatever it looks like, for them
- 30:15to, you know, open that tour and have success in Yorkshire.
- 30:18Explorer is here always Chucky, always.
- 30:22You are a bro. Also, Pussifer's Normal isn't
- 30:28tour continues with opening support from comedian and
- 30:32musician Dave Hill. I am going on Monday with my
- 30:35fiance. I cannot wait.
- 30:36It's going to be an awesome time at the Golden Gate Theatre in
- 30:40San Francisco. The Godless 4 tour continues.
- 30:44Behemoth, the Aside Rod and Christ Immolation.
- 30:46Our review is live on the site right now.
- 30:49I also saw this tour, it was incredible.
- 30:53Gore announced another big tour. They're just going hard.
- 30:56Gore Gore Must Die is the new Gore tour.
- 30:58Hopefully we will cover yet another Gore experience and
- 31:01tour. Looking to get an interview soon
- 31:03with someone from the band. Arch Meyer is headed to their
- 31:08European vacation tour. The brutal technical death metal
- 31:11band is getting back overseas this summer.
- 31:15Fozzie has announced the Twisted Faith tour with Spine Shank Flaw
- 31:20and I can't make out who that is but looks like Florida for
- 31:26walking to Rockville was today Charlotte and a bunch of other
- 31:32southeastern cities so good for them.
- 31:34I hope they I'd love to go see spine Shank.
- 31:36I haven't seen them in so long. 25 years possibly Wednesday 13
- 31:42the Shocktober blood tour with dead on Sunday We've we love
- 31:48Wednesday 13 here it goes called interviewed him before it's one
- 31:51of our most watched videos on YouTube is my interview with
- 31:55Wednesday. He is a killer artist.
- 31:58Dying fetus and Sangusa Gabog say that 10 times fast.
- 32:02I've announced a Co headline tour with crowbar and a bunch of
- 32:05the legible named bands. I can't read these logos but
- 32:08that looks like a crowbar is just fucking everywhere right
- 32:12now and I'm here for it. I'm so happy All That Remains
- 32:16kicked off their tour with Born Of Osiris and you know they've
- 32:20had some lineup issues. They have a fill in drummer from
- 32:24Elegion on drums and Mike Martin had to step out for a torso.
- 32:28Emma Worsler, formerly of Doth and Kamira is now on tour with
- 32:35All That Remains. Never really got their mojo back
- 32:39after Ali Herbert died. A guy I loved and interviewed
- 32:43before, but you know, best of luck again, guts.
- 32:47We talked about their new album deal with Silent Pendulum
- 32:50Records from New York City and now they are kicking off a tour
- 32:54this June with Rosie and the Rat Dogs.
- 32:58Upper Darby, PA. Richmond, Greenville, Athens,
- 33:01Birmingham, AL, Chattanooga, Louisville, Cincinnati, Indy,
- 33:06Chicago and Pittsburgh. And by the way, I know I'm
- 33:09American but I'm always going to say Birmingham like Birmingham
- 33:12like England because that's what I do.
- 33:15Alabama, you should be honored. Napalm Death just announced an
- 33:19early 2027 tour. Somewhat disappointing with
- 33:23Master, even though they're great, maybe who they tour with
- 33:27is not always great. And Brat, who recently had their
- 33:31guitarist and Co vocalist and their vocalist wet blacktop mojo
- 33:37is in the middle of their Texas checkmate leg one of their tour
- 33:41and they just announced some more dates this summer.
- 33:44So they are Rd. dogging it all through Texas and the whole SE
- 33:51and looks like a little bit of the Midwest.
- 33:54So that's cool. Love those guys.
- 33:58Body Count. We have some more Body Count
- 34:00news coming up soon, but Body Count is playing Sonic Temple
- 34:03next week, headlining Camp Pennsylvania, playing at Rock
- 34:07Fest Wisconsin, Brutal Assault in Czech Republic, Alcatraz
- 34:11festival in Belgium, headline date in Tilburg, Bloodstock
- 34:19festival which we always cover and I expect we'll cover again.
- 34:22A headline show in France, a festival in Prague.
- 34:29Oh no, sorry, Portugal, boy, I really can't read this flyer.
- 34:32And Aftershock in Sacramento, which I made return to again
- 34:35with shall see. I got to move and I'm getting
- 34:39married this summer. Elder, whose new album is coming
- 34:42soon, is announced a European and UK tour.
- 34:46We will hopefully get out and cover them.
- 34:48We are looking to nail down an Elder interview soon.
- 34:51I'm a big fan of the band This is Floyd Nation sitting outside
- 34:56of Abbey Road Studios. They just put the finishing
- 35:00touches on their new album. They've been releasing some
- 35:02original music and their new upcoming album also has a
- 35:05complete album performance of Wish You Were Here by Pink
- 35:09Floyd. We have some stuff going on with
- 35:11them soon. Stay tuned.
- 35:14Not just a an ordinary tribute, Panda, an exceptional 1.
- 35:18Murloc is here. What's up Murloc The Crosses is
- 35:22a band, basically a tribute band to D Crutzen.
- 35:26We just reviewed their new album and they are playing a bunch of
- 35:30dates including some Midwest and West Coast dates with the
- 35:33Dazzling Kill Men, who I think are on their label.
- 35:36They are playing Milwaukee Metal Fest.
- 35:38I will do my best to see them. I'm stoked.
- 35:43There's the Jason Newstead tour dates.
- 35:45We were talking about Jason Newstead and the Chophouse Band.
- 35:47They are doing some headline dates starting July 1st as well
- 35:51as opening for BlackBerry Smoke. That is super cool.
- 35:54Good for Jason Love. I would love for him to bring
- 35:57back the thrash metal band Newstead.
- 36:00That was the shit. But you know he's got to follow
- 36:03his heart right? Moving along 7 Dust and Theory
- 36:08of a Dead Man have announced a Co headline tour.
- 36:11I think this is the first time they're going to tour together.
- 36:13The theory of a dead man was broken up for a long time, but
- 36:16seven dust and theory of a dead man have toured together maybe
- 36:19in like 2002 and now again killer young band returned to
- 36:24dust, returned to dust, who we've interviewed is opening.
- 36:27So that's a a fun tour. They just got done touring with
- 36:31the Trey You New 7 Dust album. One out now.
- 36:35I have my copy. Ricky Rackman is doing his one
- 36:38foot in the gutter an evening with spoken word storytelling
- 36:42thing. It's not really getting out to
- 36:45Northern Cali, but I do believe he's getting to the West Coast
- 36:49this summer. He's getting in the van I'm in.
- 36:52I'm here for it. Or he's going to ride on his
- 36:54motorcycle. I'm not sure.
- 36:56Today Is the Day announced a killer tour this spring and
- 36:59summer. New Today is the Day album is
- 37:02awesome. Also Steve Austin of Today is
- 37:04the Day has his outlaw Country album out now.
- 37:09Booze Wah, the sludge band from outside of Philly that I'm a
- 37:11huge fan of. You might sometimes see my hat
- 37:14that says maybe I'm a bird. I don't know what the
- 37:17significant. I mean.
- 37:17Next time I interviewed them I have to ask about that.
- 37:19What the fuck is this hat about? Maybe I'll have them autograph
- 37:23it. So they're kicking off a West
- 37:25Coast tour and they are playing San Francisco the week after my
- 37:29wedding on a, on a Sunday matinee.
- 37:32I don't know. Maybe we'll go do it.
- 37:37They're playing a kilowatt bar, a fun punk rock bar.
- 37:42All right. Ginger's tour is already, I
- 37:45believe, coming soon with Crystal Lake and Anthios.
- 37:48And Anthios has a bunch of other tour dates, too.
- 37:52Ultra Sun already added new dates, Another US run later this
- 37:56year. Allison Parker.
- 37:57What's up? Roberto Duran, do you have Monos
- 38:00di Piedra, Hands of Stone, but Ultra Sun?
- 38:04Go check out my interview with them on the channel on YouTube.
- 38:06Lot of fun. Uncle Aston and the Deadbeats
- 38:10announced a whole bunch of tours and festivals.
- 38:14I'm really stoked about this. They also have new music coming
- 38:16out. Therefore they put out a new
- 38:18single that was like their first new song in 10 years and almost
- 38:2310 years. And the single 7 Inch sold out
- 38:26in like a minute. I was so mad, already had that
- 38:30pup flyer. Did these did these medal for
- 38:32the masses Grand finale is coming everywhere again.
- 38:36This is the the medal for the masses to battle for Bloodstock.
- 38:39These festivals and battles of the bands happen all across
- 38:43England. This one is for Scotland.
- 38:47May 23rd Solar Suns and Nothing Speaks 2 great bands are
- 38:52competing along with the guest headliners and the finalists.
- 38:56So those bands are not those other bands.
- 38:58King Nobody and Chekhov's Gun I know and Lupine Rain.
- 39:05I know. Also Boba Freak is here.
- 39:07What's up? Boba Freak day secret tour with
- 39:10N Lane. We got some N Lane news coming
- 39:12up soon again Mortis again. Just a quick shout out to Fable
- 39:17Beard, one of our affiliate partners.
- 39:19Here's my Fable Beard the barkeep.

- 39:44here for it. And then if you need some
- 39:48advertising, Lamb Goat can help you.
- 39:50We also do some ads. You can check this out and
- 39:53again, my homie Craig Caruso keeps all the behind the scenes
- 39:56stuff running and lucky for me. So let's see Stream Yard.
- 40:03We're also here for we're on all the socials.
- 40:05We have a newsletter, all the things.
- 40:07I'll put myself back on the screen so you can see me, you
- 40:11know, sign up for our newsletter.
- 40:13We're going to start sending out free stuff.
- 40:15We're going to do some exclusive things, launch a thing.
- 40:18I know I've been talking about it for months, but it's actually
- 40:21happening soon. This is great.
- 40:25Nobody appreciates my love for Def Leppard like my four sons.
- 40:29Glinted Gleben gloppen. Bloopen.
- 40:32That's not what it how the words go.
- 40:34But that's just what I like saying.
- 40:35Kinetic Pernerge, welcome back. We haven't seen you in a while,
- 40:38and the Falconer PDX is here. What's up?
- 40:46Not too bad. 40 minutes. Let's blast through the rest of
- 40:48this show. Time for the news rundown.
- 40:51This was a bit of a surprise. Dean Guitars has been in a
- 40:56lawsuit with the estate of Dimebag Daryl, and a judge in
- 41:02Florida ruled that Dean can continue to use two of the
- 41:06Dimebag Daryl designs basically so far in perpetuity, the
- 41:13Razorback, the very popular Razorback and the Stealth guitar
- 41:16designs. And it's intellectual property.
- 41:19There are two other claims of trademark infringement and fraud
- 41:23that are still going, but the original claims are covered
- 41:27under the ruling. And you know, it's interesting,
- 41:37you know, we're pretty friendly with Rita Haney, Dimebag's
- 41:42partner and the caretaker of part of the Pantera legacy.
- 41:47And I know they were hoping for a different ruling in this.
- 41:50So I wish them luck. We'll see what happens.
- 41:52There's more court stuff to come as a result of all of us.
- 41:58Super interesting, though. Also also Bush, if you want to
- 42:03feel old, Bush is putting his celebrating the 30th anniversary
- 42:11of their second album, Razor Blade Suitcase, with a deluxe
- 42:15vinyl edition as well as a remix remastered versions of all those
- 42:19songs, and they put out a single and visualizer for Swallowed.
- 42:23The big hit song you may remember was the first song
- 42:26played at Woodstock 99 after shit went sideways during Limp
- 42:31Bizkit. Anyway, Live Nation, we've been
- 42:37covering this story off and on for weeks.
- 42:39A jury found Live Nation absolutely guilty of shitting
- 42:43the bed in the music concert ticket industry and misleading
- 42:48and mischarging, you know, overcharging fans and creating
- 42:51these false markets. I don't think anything's going
- 42:54to happen to them. I'm still loving on that.
- 42:56But the ruling was interesting, to say the least.
- 42:58It does open up. Other states are going to have
- 43:02trials. I don't think you know.
- 43:04Again, getting vouchers doesn't do it for me.
- 43:07I want real change in the business.
- 43:09I don't care about $2 off on my concert tickets.
- 43:14In case you missed it if you were living under a rock King,
- 43:17Ultra Mega is the Chris Cornell Soundgarden Temple of the Dog
- 43:21tribute group that is working on a series of covers that will
- 43:25eventually be released as one full album on Raining Phoenix
- 43:28Music. It is spearheaded by Mark Menge
- 43:31of Medal Allegiance and a couple of other bands and they put out
- 43:34an incredible cover of the solo Chris Cornell song Dead Wishes
- 43:39sung by Bron Dollar of Mastodon. I got to interview them.
- 43:44That's coming soon. Stay tuned in the next few
- 43:45weeks. It was mind blowing how good
- 43:49that interview was and how much fun it was and how deep it was
- 43:54and how sensitive those guys are about paying tribute to Chris.
- 44:00The Burning Ambition documentary about Iron Maiden is out today.
- 44:05It's already had its world premiere.
- 44:07It was globally, you know, watched in movie theaters today.
- 44:11I am going on Saturday. I'm dragging my fiance to see
- 44:15the Iron Maiden documentary. She likes Iron Maiden a bit.
- 44:18We'll, it should be a fun time. Anytime I've seen some of these
- 44:21things, when they do the music, the fans go nuts, sing along,
- 44:24head bang, it's going to be a crowd.
- 44:26It's going to be fun. And then we're going to run
- 44:28around San Francisco and have some fun.
- 44:30But yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing that.
- 44:33Alisa White Glutes is in the news quite a lot lately.
- 44:38You know, late last year she departed Arch Enemy after 14
- 44:42years, replaced by Lauren Hart, formerly of Once Human.
- 44:48She launched her own band called Blue Medusa after putting out a
- 44:52solo single under her own name. She just last week joined Savage
- 44:56Lands, which is the thrash and metal collective led by Dirk
- 45:00Verburen of Megadeth and is meant to save the Costa Rican
- 45:05land, the rainforest. And she's very passionate about
- 45:08the environment and animal ethical Treatment of Animals and
- 45:11such. And now she has joined
- 45:13Dragonforce as the Co lead vocalist.
- 45:16I'll be honest with you, the press release wasn't great.
- 45:19It didn't really emphasize that the existing singer is still in
- 45:22the band. But it does highlight that she
- 45:25has joined that band. You know, she's brilliantly
- 45:28talented. I've said some true and not
- 45:31great things in the past about my interactions with her, but
- 45:35she's brilliant, right? There's no way around that.
- 45:38I just don't know if Dragon Force is going to be for her
- 45:41specifically. I was kind of over that band
- 45:4410-15 years ago, but you know, I can't imagine being on stage
- 45:48every night and having to sing those songs.
- 45:50I'd be irritated as bug. Thanks.
- 45:52For those watching on the Ghost Called main channel, we also
- 45:55have a Ghost Called live channel on YouTube as well as my channel
- 45:58Ghost Called Kefi TuneIn and check it out.
- 46:02What else? What else?
- 46:03Corn dropped the music video for their song off the Diablo
- 46:09Immortal. What are they up to?
- 46:10I used to play Diablo 1-2 and three religiously and if I
- 46:15didn't stop gaming, I would never leave the house.
- 46:17But super cool for corn to put out their first new music in a
- 46:20long time. And we did get a bit of a
- 46:21revelation. I don't think I got to talk
- 46:23about this, that field. He did an interview with Rock
- 46:27Feed and they're at Welcome to Rockville because I think that
- 46:31guy is based in Florida and you know, I, I like their stuff.
- 46:34I like him. He talked to Fielding and
- 46:37Fielding admitted for the first time ever that the reason he
- 46:40left Corn the first time is they were going to come back too soon
- 46:44from COVID and he didn't want to get vaccinated.
- 46:47So that's disappointing, but his prerogative.
- 46:50I don't want a tour. These guys are going out there.
- 46:53I don't believe in the virus, but I also don't want to get
- 46:55vaccinated and I don't want to go on tour anymore because this
- 46:58virus, OK. And he has not even talked to
- 47:02them except through lawyers since then.
- 47:03That sucks because they were best friends, right?
- 47:06They all grew up together, at least some of those guys.
- 47:08And then Fieldy said, you know, I would never close the door.
- 47:12I'm coming back. I'm very proud of my time in
- 47:14corn. But also I've never talked to
- 47:17them again. And it's going on 6-7 years now.
- 47:20So that's fucked, but OK. Also also in the news, Alonzo
- 47:27and Jetsam is coming out with a new album this summer.
- 47:29Hey, Snake River Conspiracy is here, I'm a huge fan.
- 47:33Let's do an interview about Mojave Film Booth and Snake
- 47:36River Conspiracy. If this is the band themselves,
- 47:40I'm such a fan. I will talk to your publicist.
- 47:44Maybe this is just randomly interesting.
- 47:46Mel Brooks at like 99 years old is making a sequel to Spaceballs
- 47:50and Dom Deluise's son Peter Deluise.
- 47:54You might remember him if you were a Gen.
- 47:56X kid from 21 Jump St. as the Co lead with Johnny Depp.
- 48:02And he is going to play Pizza the Hut in place of his dad that
- 48:07passed away. So I think that's adorable.
- 48:11Ice T One of these pictures is Ice T's the artwork for his
- 48:15upcoming album Criminal Migraine.
- 48:16And the other picture is me with Ice T right before the pandemic
- 48:20at the Carnivore listening party at Sony headquarters in New York
- 48:24City. What a time to be alive.
- 48:27I got to talk to him for a couple of minutes and talk about
- 48:29hip hop and talk about the Bronx and the and the contrast between
- 48:33the Bronx and Compton and South Bronx rappers and his opinion on
- 48:36who his favorite rappers are. He asked me who my favorite
- 48:39rapper it was. I said, well, beside you KRS
- 48:43what? And he was like word word.
- 48:46And I also met Coco that night. She was really nice.
- 48:49And they had the baby with them. At the time.
- 48:50She was a lot younger than now, obviously.
- 48:52But boy, 2000 was like 20/20/20 was like a lifetime though in
- 48:562000 seems like ancient history, but new Ice T solo rap album,
- 49:02hip hop album, I'm here for it. He hasn't had a proper solo hip
- 49:05hop album in 20 years. And also Body Count continues to
- 49:09tour. We talked about their festivals
- 49:10and headline tours. Just a little shout out to Craig
- 49:13Worden of Shudder to Think. Shudder to Think is a band that
- 49:16I was hugely into in my college days and I met them once back in
- 49:22the day. I was a big fan, really the
- 49:25progenitors of post hardcore, pre emo kind of musical theater
- 49:30inspired hardcore if you will, and able to write soundtracks
- 49:34and scores. They were on the Velvet Goldmine
- 49:37soundtrack for two songs that you might well know, music fans
- 49:41and musical fans and glam rock fans.
- 49:44And he has a new solo album, which is the deluxe version of
- 49:47his recent solo album. And we have an interview coming
- 49:51up with Craig I'm really proud of and he was really a great
- 49:53guy. This is just wow.
- 49:57This picture, I'm going to blow this up for a minute.
- 49:58This this image has been exploding the Internet with
- 50:02anger. Horny metal night this is.
- 50:07I can't remember where this is taking place but this is the
- 50:10picture of sleep token and it sounds like bad omens day
- 50:15seeker, type O, negative hem, acid bath, sleep token, spirit
- 50:21box and Deftones. I mean it's definitely an
- 50:26attention getting flyer if you wanted to piss people off and
- 50:30get them to check you out. Hey Tito, what up brother?
- 50:33How was sick new world Velez plague 213 is here.
- 50:39JMC 2022 is here. But yeah, like this flyer
- 50:45fucking up pissed the whole Internet off man TikTok Twitter
- 50:50threads, blue sky wherever this thing popped up, people were
- 50:54fuming like acid bath. All right type of negatives you
- 51:00could claim this is extremely you know, baby making music and
- 51:03horny and sad and him is very romantic.
- 51:07I don't think of him as overtly sexual, but like very romantic
- 51:11and and mood music. But as advanced a lot of songs
- 51:15about necrophilia and betrayal and murder, not really romance
- 51:20and you know, sleep token clearly horny spirit box.
- 51:25A lot of music about overcoming personal problems and emotional
- 51:29issues and, and misogyny and things like that.
- 51:32Not really. I mean, you know, yes, there's
- 51:34definitely some beautiful parts to their songs.
- 51:37I don't think of them as horny music.
- 51:39You definitely could have come up with some other bands.
- 51:43And Deftones, of course, are the horniest band ever, maybe ever.
- 51:47Like these guys need to jerk off much more than they have been
- 51:51because hey, Chino, All right, system of a down headline sick
- 51:57New world Co headline sick new world with corn last weekend.
- 52:00We have coverage of that coming soon.
- 52:03Darren Mel County in from the stage made us like one of the
- 52:07lamest fucking speeches ever. On one hand, he's like, don't
- 52:10let the government decide you like divide you If you want to
- 52:14be left or you want to be right or you want to be in the middle.
- 52:16It's cool. It's like mine like don't talk
- 52:20anymore about politics, bro. Let it leave it to surge and
- 52:23maybe you know, Shavo is into gaming and weed and his other
- 52:27bands and like dude, no one likes a centrist.
- 52:33You're just a bitch. There's good people on both
- 52:35sides. Stop being you know, if you've
- 52:37sold out your ideals and you don't want to be politically
- 52:41motivated anymore or stick to your original ideals.
- 52:45Just be quiet bro. You have nothing to say.
- 52:48You have nothing I want to hear basically.
- 52:51It's too bad because you know, I really have come around on that
- 52:54band. I really I should do a whole
- 52:56live stream on bands I used to hate, that I like and bands that
- 52:59I still hate. That would be a fun couple of
- 53:01live stream topics. Hey Spearing and Drift, just a
- 53:06reminder, they jumped on the Kryptopsy LED Decibel magazine
- 53:11tour. The band is disbanding after
- 53:13their upcoming new and farewell album.
- 53:17I pre-ordered mine. I love Nate from that band and I
- 53:22might have to just go see. I keep missing Kryptopsy anyway
- 53:26and it's a killer tour, but I especially just to make sure I
- 53:29catch what probably is the farewell tour for Spirit Drift.
- 53:34This book is coming out soon. Chuck Billy's debut memoir, I
- 53:40will. I'm here, I'm here for this man.
- 53:41I love the Gary Holt memoir. Chuck is a contemporary of Gary.
- 53:47You know, we really don't have any memoirs for.
- 53:49We have biographies of Metallica, but we don't have any
- 53:53history books on them. And, you know, Chuck has a very
- 53:56unique and interesting experience based on growing up
- 54:00as a Native American in the Bay Area and the thrash metal scene.
- 54:05So holding my breath. The two testaments of Chuck,
- 54:08Billy Co written with Dave Erickson.
- 54:11They. Yeah.
- 54:12So that's coming out soon. The forward is by Rob Halford of
- 54:15Judas Priest and the afterword is by Randy Bly of Lamb of God.
- 54:20Very killer stuff. I'm looking forward to reading
- 54:22that. Also a lot of books coming out
- 54:26soon. Let's see what else is coming
- 54:28out soon. This is super interesting.
- 54:31Omar did this story. The Ghost Inside was profiled by
- 54:37Pearl Drums. You know that The Ghost Inside
- 54:40had a horrible van accident about 7 years ago that almost
- 54:46killed the band and their drummer lost his leg.
- 54:50My former drummer of one of my bands is in the thread there on
- 54:54the Gram Tito. And so Pearl developed this
- 54:58technology, this new kind of drum pedal with him so he could
- 55:04continue to play fast double bass and punk rock and and and
- 55:08kind of thrashy punk rock. So it's called the Hammer and
- 55:12Andrew Tazik is the drummer. Hope I said that correctly.
- 55:17The 2015 bus at and so it's now 11 years ago and one of the most
- 55:22remarkable stories of resilience in modern heavy music.
- 55:25How they developed the hammer pedal to work with his
- 55:28prosthesis. He does not have an actual
- 55:31prosthetic leg. He has kind of like a nub.
- 55:33I don't know if he also walks with a leg, but it's a single.
- 55:37You know, it's kind of like the double beater and it's very
- 55:41innovative. You should check it out.
- 55:42You can watch them play. There's tons of videos online of
- 55:45him testing it out and showing it and what a remarkable person.
- 55:49I'm so glad they're OK and he you know, they survived their
- 55:52injuries and continue to play another book.
- 55:55I'm super I I really need to like bear down on my reading
- 56:00list, but also Eugene Hunts of Google.
- 56:06Bordello is putting out his debut book and memoir, Forward
- 56:09by Thurston Moore, Lost Innocent World, Chronicles of Ukrainian
- 56:14punk rocker in the free world. Very interesting stuff.
- 56:17I'm sure he's going to be brilliant.
- 56:20He's always a very smart and brilliant guy.
- 56:24Speaking of books, one of our mentors here at Ghost Cult is
- 56:27Michael Anthony Alago. You might know him as the guy
- 56:31who signed Metallica to Electra Records in 1984, who discovered
- 56:36White Zombie. I'm going to tell you that I saw
- 56:38a White Zombie in the Continental Club in 1989, and
- 56:42they were not good at all. And then two years, three years
- 56:45later, moving in the surface of premonition of a land erupting.
- 56:50Yeah, you know, so fuck it, this guy deserves a medal.
- 56:55He is, again, wonderful. We've got many interviews with
- 56:58him, exclusive content he shared with us about Metallica, and
- 57:03photos nobody else has seen Polaroids.
- 57:04He has. He is coming out with his new
- 57:06book. Michael Has, in addition to his
- 57:09lengthy year career in the music industry as an A&R Rep, has his
- 57:14new his fourth monograph, Polaroid Encounters 1998 to
- 57:192009, now available from Shining Life Press.
- 57:22If you like pictures of shirtless men in New York City,
- 57:26this is for you. Michael is a brilliant
- 57:29photographer and still is a great year for metal.
- 57:32And, you know, we should talk to him about that soon.
- 57:35I'm wondering if he'll come to San Francisco for like a book
- 57:37signing or something and I can go meet up with him.
- 57:39Nuns Slaughter dropped the new single.
- 57:41We know their new album is coming out from their new deal
- 57:43with Black to Black. Nuns Slaughter.
- 57:45Kind of a side band, like a similar band to Midnight from
- 57:49the same area. Killer band motor, heady metal,
- 57:53basically heavier Motörhead. I'm a big fan of vinyl reissues.
- 58:00There's already been a bunch of banger ones this year.
- 58:02Last year you know I was talking about the Danzig ones every
- 58:04other week. December Underground.
- 58:07Probably the best album by AFI. A Fire Inside is getting the 20
- 58:11year Oh my God we're sold the 20 year reissue treatment.
- 58:20I have not decided if I'm going to buy this yet, but I might.
- 58:23I do have the Halloween EP Down Speaking of reissues is also
- 58:28putting out their reissue of Down 3A Bustle in your In your
- 58:33Hedgerow, The quote Stairway to Heaven remix remastered for 26
- 58:42pre-orders are up now also. Also.
- 58:45This was another interesting month.
- 58:47I mean like so many bands have announced new albums.
- 58:51This is what is it? It's Swim the Current with our
- 58:57friend George Pond. And so this is a really
- 59:01interesting story. They've just put out a new song
- 59:05called Already Dead and their Day Out debut album is coming
- 59:08out, Lone Star Empire. And they were on tour in Japan
- 59:13and George had a heart attack in Japan and I believe he is still
- 59:22recovering. He might even still be in Japan.
- 59:25I don't know if he's made it back yet, but if there's ever,
- 59:29if there's a GoFundMe or anything, we'll let you know.
- 59:33Swim the Current is mostly made of Texas rockers Market.
- 59:38Marcos Leo, formerly of Shadowed Shattered, Shattered Son and El
- 59:42Nino is the vocalist. George on bass, Joe Geary on the
- 59:47guitar, Greg Antin on rhythm guitar, Chris Moore from George
- 59:52Lynch and Ultra Phonics on drums.
- 59:55So we're looking forward to that debut album.
- 59:59But I'm a big George fan and I I'm rooting for you buddy.
- 1:00:02Please get well soon. He's also part of Disciples of
- 1:00:06Verity with Corey Glover and Corey Pierce of God Forbid.
- 1:00:10Other bands with New Into Eternity has a reissue coming
- 1:00:14out their 20th anniversary. Vinyl reissue of their album
- 1:00:20Timeless Winter, but they're also working on a brand new
- 1:00:23album. Of course, you know our man Stu
- 1:00:27Blockers, the vocalist and and originally came from into
- 1:00:30eternity and you know that he used to be he used to be in Iced
- 1:00:38Earth, which, you know, fuck that noise.
- 1:00:41But anyway, so let's see what else?
- 1:00:45What else? What else?
- 1:00:49We're at the one hour mark. I'm going to try to finish this
- 1:00:51up soon. N Lane released a brand new
- 1:00:54single, Avion. They're on that tour with Day
- 1:00:56Seeker, big fans of North Lane, the Australian metal core band.
- 1:01:00I've interviewed them a few times.
- 1:01:01Oliver Bridges is the front man, comic book collector, horror
- 1:01:05movie nerd and great vocalist and screamer.
- 1:01:09And they're looking forward to a whole new N Lane album.
- 1:01:11They've kind of taken their band DIY an indie, which is super
- 1:01:15interesting in this day and age. Speaking of reissues, Carrie
- 1:01:20King is putting out his debut album yet again a year and a
- 1:01:25half later, from Hell I rise with demos and things.
- 1:01:28If you ever wanted to hear Carrie King's vocals on demo
- 1:01:31versions of songs, this is your chance.
- 1:01:35I'm believe I might be getting this sent to me to unbox and
- 1:01:40share. So I will make a video when that
- 1:01:42happens. Also, this is another book I
- 1:01:46need to get. This is technically a 2025 book,
- 1:01:51but this is no New York, a memoir of the of no wave and the
- 1:01:56women that shaped the scene by Adele Berte.
- 1:01:59And I'm very interested in in checking this thing out.
- 1:02:03So I do love my music history books and I'm I'm a I'm a sucker
- 1:02:08for music history because I had studied musicology in college.
- 1:02:14Just a reminder, this is always a good time to punch a Nazi.
- 1:02:17Just in case you were not sure this is your reminder.
- 1:02:21OK, New Music Friday and I fail at this section of the show just
- 1:02:27about every week, but let's see. Let's see what?
- 1:02:31Let's see what's happening here. Hold on one second.
- 1:02:35I'll try to play some music from new Music Friday.
- 1:02:38I do sometimes fail. It doesn't always work, but
- 1:02:43we're going to give it a shot in one second.
- 1:02:48Every week we preview the new rock and metal albums coming
- 1:02:51out. It's up to you to apply
- 1:02:54yourself. People tell me they don't hear
- 1:02:56any good new bands or anything. I don't know what the fuck
- 1:02:59you're talking about. This is just not possible at
- 1:03:03all. Let's check this out.
- 1:03:08I don't. I don't think I'm going to get
- 1:03:11flagged for this band, but you never know.
- 1:03:14It's it's a puzzlement. It's an absolute fucking
- 1:03:19puzzlement. But here we go.
- 1:03:20I'm going to do it. I'm going to play some of this
- 1:03:24stuff. All right, here we go.
- 1:03:35Cyborg 0 is the band with their new albums coming out.
- 1:03:40Mean New World is the official video.
- 1:03:43No, that's not a new one. Let's see, Do we have new music
- 1:03:49online? Did I pick wrong?
- 1:03:51I might have picked wrong. Well, here's the trailer for
- 1:03:54their album. Oh yeah.
- 1:03:56Here we go. Cyborg 0 School official music
- 1:03:59video Episode one, Part 1. This looks like a fun animated
- 1:04:03video. Let's see if it's any good.
- 1:04:08I'm going to find out. All right, let's
- 1:04:33listen to this for a minute. Fun and funky go down records.
- 1:04:56Erika Erante Barfualdi directed this fun well.
- 1:05:16That video was definitely fun. I think this reminds me a lot of
- 1:05:22James Gang. All right, I'm going to now read
- 1:05:25the new music Friday list and tell you what to pick up.
- 1:05:30But you can go to ghost called site and get all your records

- 1:08:23this winter EP self released. OK, and now it's time for the
- 1:08:29mailbag. Let's see the mailbag.
- 1:08:34I have quite a lot to get through, so I'm going to just do
- 1:08:37this pretty quickly. Last weekend was Comic Book Day,
- 1:08:42Free comic Book Day in the US and I attended an awesome comic
- 1:08:45book store, my favorite comic book store, Waterfront Comics in
- 1:08:49Sassoon City, California, in the North East Bay Area.
- 1:08:56And I saw my good friend John, who is the proprietor of that
- 1:09:00store and I bought, I got a bunch of free comics and I
- 1:09:03bought some Funkos Silent Bob here with the camera because
- 1:09:07kind of I am silent Bob in a lot of ways.
- 1:09:10I love Kevin Smith and Kevin Smith movies that mean a lot to
- 1:09:12me. And this he they had kind of a
- 1:09:15table outside with these slightly damaged boxes.
- 1:09:18But here's Jaws from the James Bond movies, Richard Keel, the
- 1:09:21great James Bond villain. So I picked these Funkos up to
- 1:09:25add to my voluminous Funko collection.
- 1:09:28Now on to some other things. Oh, I lost my key light.
- 1:09:32Good timing, but not really. I knew it was going to go out
- 1:09:36sooner or later. I'll just bring this guy right
- 1:09:39over here so you can see me unbox these things.
- 1:09:43I got the new Sepultura farewell EP, The Unknowing, so got a
- 1:09:52T-shirt and vinyl EP deal here. Pretty reasonable price in my
- 1:09:58size. Might wear this tomorrow right
- 1:09:59out the box. So here's the Sepultura.
- 1:10:02It's not opened yet, but it's the strictly limited edition red
- 1:10:10transparent vinyl, The Cloud of the Unknowing.
- 1:10:13We reviewed this very highly on our site.
- 1:10:16Maybe I'll unbox it on my other show.
- 1:10:24I got this since the new Elder is about to come out.
- 1:10:26I got this previous Elder album, Reflections of a Floating World
- 1:10:29double LP. Absolutely killer.
- 1:10:33This is from Retroactive Records, also in Sassoon, right
- 1:10:36down the block from the comic shop.
- 1:10:38Love those guys. And then a couple of weeks ago
- 1:10:41on the news I told you a story about 20 Watt Tombstone having
- 1:10:46to cancel some of their tour stuff, so I bought this vinyl.
- 1:10:50This is their last record, The Chosen Few, and I'm just a huge
- 1:10:55fan of that band. It came with this insert and
- 1:10:59handwritten lyrics because you can't really make them out too
- 1:11:04good because the light is out, but handwritten lyrics to one of
- 1:11:07the songs on The Chosen Few. And then last and not least one
- 1:11:12more vinyl. Sorry I didn't get to open these
- 1:11:15but this is the brand new album from Failure Location Lost and
- 1:11:22this is out now and I am a huge Failure fan.
- 1:11:25I don't know if my fiance is still awake but maybe heard me
- 1:11:29singing, possibly at the top of my lungs to sing the nurse who
- 1:11:34loved me while I was getting ready to do the show.
- 1:11:37And that is the show in a very reasonable hour and 11 minutes
- 1:11:41late at night here on a Friday morning.
- 1:11:44Have a good weekend everybody. Thanks for tuning in, I really
- 1:11:47appreciate you all. And don't drink and drive.
- 1:11:51Be safe this weekend if you're going out to festivals or shows,
- 1:11:55Help people be a good citizen of metal and the world.
- 1:11:59Show people that metal heads are not assholes.
- 1:12:01There's a lot of people think we're just crazy.
- 1:12:03Guys, this light is just fucked. All right?
- 1:12:06Anyway, I'm going to see myself out.
- 1:12:09Have a great weekend. More ghosts called tomorrow.
- 1:12:12Peace.
