- 3:38Speaker 4: gathering there, but I won't. I won't. No, no, no, no.
- 3:42Speaker 3: What are you bringing with the agela mold?
- 3:44Speaker 4: I'm bringing apple cake. I make an apple cake. I

- 3:54Speaker 3: Facebook question today? Oh ahead, have you put your snow
- 3:57Speaker 3: tires on yet? Oh?
- 3:58Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 3:59Speaker 3: Really you see him?
- 4:00Speaker 4: Did you get him off? Yeah? I see that studied.
- 4:04Speaker 3: What'd you get? When did you get those put on?
- 4:06Speaker 3: The nineteenth? Okay, so the studied they're beg listen, you
- 4:14Speaker 3: need studded tires for where you live? Man.
- 4:18Speaker 4: Yeah, you know it's funny people. I have this kind
- 4:20Speaker 4: of a steep type thing. But you've been up there
- 4:23Speaker 4: many times. But what when I when I got these
- 4:25Speaker 4: studied tires last year on that rig? I so I tried.
- 4:29Speaker 4: I always try to go up without it in four, Yeah,
- 4:32Speaker 4: just to see if the studyed tires will do it,
- 4:34Speaker 4: and they usually do.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Really no kidding, Ross. We have a lot to talk about,
- 4:39Speaker 3: a lot to get to. First of all, birthdays today
- 4:41Speaker 3: and I know you always like it when we do
- 4:43Speaker 3: the local birthdays, so very important. But we have a
- 4:47Speaker 3: we have a guy that's eighty four years old today.
- 4:49Speaker 3: See if you see if you know who it is,
- 4:51Speaker 3: I bet you do. Pete Best?
- 4:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I know he is.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Who's Pete Best?
- 4:58Speaker 4: I don't know him. He was there as they say
- 5:01Speaker 4: he was the original drummer for the Beatles. Yes, yeah,
- 5:04Speaker 4: eighty four and he I don't know the story there, but.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Anyway, inducted into the prestigious All you need is Liverpool
- 5:12Speaker 3: Music Hall of Fame. Yeah, kiss that ringo. Yeah. Local
- 5:17Speaker 3: birthdays Kevin Foster, Guy welch Annette Beauvaire, Tiffany Bates, Mark
- 5:22Speaker 3: mast Eluis Reed, Sandra la Bounty, Alyssa sever and Chris
- 5:27Speaker 3: gruin Is on birthday list.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Has some good names right there.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Yeah, it is so Russ Triple A is saying eighty
- 5:36Speaker 3: two million people are going to be traveling at least
- 5:39Speaker 3: fifty miles from home over the Thanksgiving holiday, eighty two
- 5:44Speaker 3: million people are going to be sitting around a Thanksgiving
- 5:47Speaker 3: table together, mostly families, some friends, some strangers, and a
- 5:50Speaker 3: heap of relatives that they really don't mind if they
- 5:55Speaker 3: wait another couple of years before they see again it's happening.
- 5:59Speaker 3: But here we go Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving, buckle up time.
- 6:03Speaker 4: All right.
- 6:04Speaker 3: A lot of people ask me something just they they
- 6:08Speaker 3: look they very much look forward to it. It's and
- 6:11Speaker 3: a lot of people don't.
- 6:12Speaker 4: It's a construct. You either do or don't. There's no
- 6:14Speaker 4: reason to do it. The only reason to do it
- 6:17Speaker 4: is because it's been you've been doing. I don't know
- 6:20Speaker 4: when that holiday started. But there's these holidays are constructs.
- 6:24Speaker 4: There's no there's no reason, there's just nothing. It's we
- 6:27Speaker 4: created and it's created for for commerce. And yeah, everybody gathers,
- 6:32Speaker 4: but listen, if anybody that I care about, well no
- 6:35Speaker 4: that's not true. Some people that fire, but gather with
- 6:38Speaker 4: them anyway, gather gather, gather with them anyway. Does it
- 6:41Speaker 4: have to be turkey, Well, it doesn't have to be turkey,
- 6:43Speaker 4: but it does also doesn't have to be that you
- 6:45Speaker 4: eat so much that you hurt after.
- 6:47Speaker 3: I was gonna I'm gonna ask you about that.
- 6:48Speaker 4: There's that whole thing. I don't you know. I don't
- 6:50Speaker 4: subscribe to that so much. I couldn't even walk them
- 6:54Speaker 4: like when you dumb.
- 6:55Speaker 3: There's so much there's so much research out there about
- 7:00Speaker 3: you know, the the the positive impacts that that being social,
- 7:06Speaker 3: being with others can have. But I think that there's
- 7:11Speaker 3: also a lot of stress that goes with that. Okay,
- 7:13Speaker 3: now a lot, I mean rest. We got a grocery shop,
- 7:18Speaker 3: organize it, plan the attack, cook all the food, serve
- 7:23Speaker 3: all the food, make sure it's hot, make sure it looks.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Everything is so pretty and beautiful. Take the pictures.
- 7:29Speaker 4: My god, buddy, when you when you listen back to this,
- 7:33Speaker 4: you'll see how ridiculous all that is. You say it's stress.
- 7:36Speaker 4: You'll say it's stress. There ain't no stress you talk about.
- 7:40Speaker 4: You talk about going to the grocery store. That's not stress.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Having people over, that's not stress. Cleaning the house that's
- 7:47Speaker 4: not stress. Stress is if you've got some little kid
- 7:50Speaker 4: that and it's her kid, and then you gotta get
- 7:54Speaker 4: the kid and you gotta work and you can't. These
- 7:57Speaker 4: things aren't stress. It's in people's mind. It boggles my
- 8:01Speaker 4: mind that people look at this as you know, and
- 8:03Speaker 4: it's it's fed out there pun as a big stressful time.
- 8:07Speaker 4: The most amazing thing to me is that number eighty
- 8:13Speaker 4: three million, I can it's just amazing to me that
- 8:15Speaker 4: it's eighty three million, exactly.
- 8:20Speaker 3: It's eighty one point two.
- 8:23Speaker 4: How did it come to that? They don't like eighty
- 8:25Speaker 4: one point two, five, six, seven, eight nine point And
- 8:28Speaker 4: then there's a couple in the oven? Where did they
- 8:31Speaker 4: get these numbers? That alone tells me that it's all fake.
- 8:35Speaker 4: You can't go out and go eighty one point two
- 8:37Speaker 4: million people will travel. Who's figuring that out? And it
- 8:41Speaker 4: always comes to it like an even thing eighty I
- 8:44Speaker 4: just googled it. Eighty one point eight, I know, but
- 8:47Speaker 4: it ain't eighty one point eight seven five coma three
- 8:52Speaker 4: nine to two? Right, So who's really doing their homework there?
- 8:56Speaker 4: They're dropping the ball because it's always even. Seventeen million
- 9:01Speaker 4: people voted. I can't believe that it comes to those
- 9:04Speaker 4: even numbers anyway.
- 9:05Speaker 3: There's no stress. The awkwardness though, of sitting around, sitting
- 9:10Speaker 3: around the table and staring at others that you really
- 9:17Speaker 3: don't really have a lot in common with or maybe
- 9:19Speaker 3: haven't seen for a long time. Then you throw some
- 9:22Speaker 3: indigestion in there, some heartburn, maybe some alcohol, and then
- 9:27Speaker 3: maybe even you know, some awkward conversation in some body odor.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Well, don't go. If anyone's sitting around going, oh my god,
- 9:37Speaker 4: I gotta do I the thing and the thing, that's
- 9:39Speaker 4: just them wanting to hear themselves talk. Because if you
- 9:43Speaker 4: really are going, I gotta go shop it, and then
- 9:45Speaker 4: I gotta do the bird, and then it don't do ish,
- 9:51Speaker 4: don't do it. Oh and then well old uncle Joe's
- 9:54Speaker 4: coming over and he's gonna talk politics. Don't invite Uncle Joe.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Uncle Ron always get hammered.
- 10:00Speaker 4: Well let him get I mean, if you don't like
- 10:02Speaker 4: that Ron hammered, don't.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Serve moods and Aunt Betty.
- 10:06Speaker 4: We create our own problems here. There's no problem. Get together,
- 10:10Speaker 4: by the way, I think that's that's all built up too.
- 10:13Speaker 4: Most people are gonna get together and have a good
- 10:14Speaker 4: old time. What do humans do? We talk about other humans? Yeah,
- 10:19Speaker 4: so the people that show up and they're driving away
- 10:21Speaker 4: in their car, the husband and wife wife, husband and
- 10:23Speaker 4: husband husband or whatever they and even if the kids.
- 10:26Speaker 4: You're talking about the people that were there. But did
- 10:29Speaker 4: you see so and so that was funny? Oh boy,
- 10:31Speaker 4: that's what we do, is humans.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Yeah, but you get the bad breath and the bad
- 10:37Speaker 3: body odor in there, and.
- 10:38Speaker 4: Don't get near him.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Jeez.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Sit at the kids table. Sit at the kid's table. Listen.
- 10:45Speaker 3: I was gonna ask you that question this moring. I'm
- 10:47Speaker 3: not kidding. I was gonna ask you would you rather
- 10:52Speaker 3: sit at the kids table or sit at the adults table.
- 10:56Speaker 4: I'd rather sit at the adults table because I can't
- 11:00Speaker 4: fit by them card tables. Sure, but where I'm going
- 11:03Speaker 4: the guy and the lady, there'd be also one, two, three, five,
- 11:08Speaker 4: I think five other people.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Any kids.
- 11:11Speaker 4: There might be one. Yeah, that'd be a little younger
- 11:15Speaker 4: person there running around. Kids sit still, like seven or
- 11:19Speaker 4: eight years old. But anyway, then afterwards, me and the
- 11:22Speaker 4: guy that owned the place, we go. He's got a
- 11:24Speaker 4: big barn like mine, yeah, newer, it's really nice. And
- 11:27Speaker 4: he's got a and you got a woodstove there. I'll
- 11:29Speaker 4: puffac you guy there, sit there, me and him, ha ha.
- 11:32Speaker 4: Then you go back in you have dessert later. It's
- 11:34Speaker 4: all it's just one. It's just fantastic.
- 11:36Speaker 3: I want to ask you about that. Go ahead, We're
- 11:39Speaker 3: gonna get to the dessert this morning, and I'm going
- 11:41Speaker 3: to ask you about your your favorite uh dessert for Thanksgiving.
- 11:46Speaker 3: But let's go right for the jugular this morning, Ross,
- 11:49Speaker 3: as we do every year, things to to not talk
- 11:53Speaker 3: about at the Thanksgiving table the first three right out
- 11:56Speaker 3: of the shoot politics, money, and religion and sex. Okay,
- 12:01Speaker 3: I forgot about that. It's a good one.
- 12:04Speaker 4: Yes, that's the inappropriate.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, those are the things have you been and
- 12:10Speaker 3: don't talk about? It's always the mom or the aunt
- 12:13Speaker 3: think have you been? Intimately?
- 12:16Speaker 4: Do they say that? Jesus Gron, I don't know about
- 12:20Speaker 4: that one. But the money, the people, and then what
- 12:23Speaker 4: are they gonna do. They're gonna talk politics and money
- 12:25Speaker 4: and appear in relision or something.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Gosh, have you looks like you put on a couple
- 12:30Speaker 3: of pounds? There you wearing the uh you wearing the
- 12:33Speaker 3: elastic waste pants.
- 12:34Speaker 4: Yeah. Some people, that's is funny. They become inappropriate.
- 12:37Speaker 3: I guess I think you've put on good ten pounds
- 12:39Speaker 3: in I saw you last year.
- 12:40Speaker 4: Especially if they drink right is what you're saying? Oh yeah, yeah,
- 12:44Speaker 4: how do you deal with that?
- 12:45Speaker 3: Ship? Well, you mean you get up and go for
- 12:47Speaker 3: a walk every five minutes.
- 12:50Speaker 4: But oh no, no, the way you deal with that
- 12:53Speaker 4: is you know, going in, what what to expect in
- 12:55Speaker 4: these situations. It was like the guy I was talking
- 13:00Speaker 4: two years ago. I was at the Barn doing a
- 13:02Speaker 4: barn event and he was He was the Vermont's head
- 13:08Speaker 4: corner Corner I think that's what they call it. State
- 13:12Speaker 4: is a medical examiner. And he was there at the
- 13:15Speaker 4: barner s somebody and he rode bikes. He was a
- 13:19Speaker 4: bike rider, like on the highway and he got into
- 13:22Speaker 4: as someone was there and they asked him a question
- 13:24Speaker 4: about bike riding, and he was saying, well, these people,
- 13:26Speaker 4: he's like these people that pass you in the cars,
- 13:29Speaker 4: you know, and then you know you could get hurt
- 13:31Speaker 4: on your bike. And I basically said it ain't the
- 13:35Speaker 4: person in the cars fall all totally. And he would
- 13:39Speaker 4: look at me like I'm crazy, Right if a guy
- 13:41Speaker 4: runs you over. He looked at me like I'm crazy,
- 13:44Speaker 4: because he said and I said, man, if you're riding
- 13:47Speaker 4: a bike on the road where there's thirty five hundred
- 13:53Speaker 4: pounds in my big mactra are passing you with a
- 13:58Speaker 4: foot or six inches, then you gotta take responsibility for
- 14:02Speaker 4: some of that. If you get run over, you got
- 14:04Speaker 4: to you got to. You know, if somebody gets run
- 14:09Speaker 4: over and it breaks their femur and breaks their skull,
- 14:11Speaker 4: run and then they're like, oh my god, these people
- 14:14Speaker 4: are texting. I think he was. He came over the line, Yeah,
- 14:17Speaker 4: you run a bike on the highway, motorcycle. No, I'm
- 14:22Speaker 4: talking about the bicycle. I'm talking about the people that
- 14:26Speaker 4: ride the bicycle.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Okay, you don't see what I'm saying.
- 14:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:30Speaker 4: And when they're the complaining all the trucks, oh, the
- 14:33Speaker 4: big trucks, when the big drive a good friend that
- 14:36Speaker 4: does it, he doesn't complain.
- 14:38Speaker 3: He just kind of says Jesus. So this guy was
- 14:40Speaker 3: a corner.
- 14:41Speaker 4: He was the state medical examiner. His name was Stephen Shapiro.
- 14:44Speaker 4: He's not anymore. He's the highest paid state employee that
- 14:48Speaker 4: we have, the state, our state medical examiner. And I
- 14:51Speaker 4: had him come over and talking. But yeah, no, that
- 14:55Speaker 4: is the point. So then if you go to Thanksgiving dinner,
- 14:59Speaker 4: you have to understand it. If there's gonna be other
- 15:01Speaker 4: people there, these things can happen. So who's false is
- 15:06Speaker 4: the person asking you the thing about how much weight
- 15:08Speaker 4: you gained or you're is it your fault for going
- 15:12Speaker 4: so the way you deal with it if you answer
- 15:14Speaker 4: but probably I.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Think you've said to me in the past, go in
- 15:19Speaker 3: with a pocket full of stuff that's light subject matter.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Keep it light. Yeah, don't go in there with any
- 15:27Speaker 3: personal struggles or stories or anything. Just keep it light.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Well I do what I do is I don't.
- 15:35Speaker 3: I don't.
- 15:35Speaker 4: I don't have the need to speak. So I would say,
- 15:38Speaker 4: so you just don't go. So how are you? You go?
- 15:42Speaker 4: You go, You sit down at the table and they
- 15:44Speaker 4: do the grace. You say, so, Steven, what anything outstandingly
- 15:50Speaker 4: exciting happened and the last that last year for you
- 15:53Speaker 4: or anything? And then that person wants to talk.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Oh they do.
- 15:57Speaker 4: Everybody wants to tell you their story. Man. Yeah, so
- 16:01Speaker 4: you let that roll and you give it off to
- 16:04Speaker 4: them because everybody wants to talk. They don't want to
- 16:08Speaker 4: hear you talk. So if I sat down and the
- 16:10Speaker 4: blessing was gave it and I go, hey, you know what,
- 16:13Speaker 4: I was on JD's show, and you know what else
- 16:15Speaker 4: I'm doing. I'm doing this, I'm doing that. Ohnt darn Trump,
- 16:20Speaker 4: Then the people ain't liking you always ask them, so
- 16:23Speaker 4: is that a new car that I saw in the
- 16:25Speaker 4: parking lash. Hey, that's awful nice. I like the color.
- 16:30Speaker 4: And then they go on and they tell them.
- 16:34Speaker 3: They might come back with, yeah, it's a new car.
- 16:35Speaker 3: It's it's green. I like the color too, But what
- 16:37Speaker 3: do you think about the Epstein files?
- 16:39Speaker 4: Huh? I would say, what the dog over there? I
- 16:45Speaker 4: would say, you know what I do say, which is true,
- 16:47Speaker 4: I don't follow it. I say, I don't follow What
- 16:49Speaker 4: do you mean you don't follow it? Yeah, I would say, yeah,
- 16:54Speaker 4: I do, I do, I actually do. I don't even
- 16:56Speaker 4: know what the Revolutionary War was, honestly, got listen. If
- 17:02Speaker 4: you play, I can play dumb with the best of them,
- 17:06Speaker 4: and people don't care. People want to be smarter than you.
- 17:09Speaker 4: So I think that reaction is going to be not
- 17:12Speaker 4: very often. More often you'll get you don't well, so
- 17:16Speaker 4: what's going so? Then now we go so no, what,
- 17:18Speaker 4: I don't follow that? So what's going on? Like you're interested?
- 17:22Speaker 4: Then now go whoa And then I go is that right?
- 17:28Speaker 3: Really?
- 17:30Speaker 4: Oh my god?
- 17:31Speaker 3: I might say to you if we were having Thanksgiving together,
- 17:35Speaker 3: I might say, ross, say, see, you got a show
- 17:38Speaker 3: coming up in a couple of weeks. Yeah, getting in December.
- 17:41Speaker 3: How's that? What's that all about?
- 17:42Speaker 4: That's December fifth and and Patrick Ross will be there
- 17:45Speaker 4: with me and you get on the Jena's Promise and
- 17:47Speaker 4: it's for Jenna's Promise, which is a great organization that
- 17:51Speaker 4: helps the women, probably say younger ones, but they don't
- 17:56Speaker 4: have to be young if they're having a trouble n time.
- 18:00Speaker 4: You go over there to Jenni's Promise and you get
- 18:04Speaker 4: involved in their program, which would include getting you would work,
- 18:08Speaker 4: getting you a job, and you have housing and the
- 18:11Speaker 4: organization is run like a top. I did a benefit
- 18:16Speaker 4: for them last year. I I m seed yes about
- 18:21Speaker 4: a year ago, and that went well, and I was like,
- 18:23Speaker 4: why don't I do a show here for you folks.
- 18:25Speaker 4: It's a great little space. It's a it's an old
- 18:27Speaker 4: church in Johnson. So that's what I'm doing December fifth. Yeah,
- 18:31Speaker 4: open to the public. Oh well tickets. Yeah, you gotta
- 18:35Speaker 4: get on the go to Jennie Promise on the website. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 18:40Speaker 4: be good. It's December fifth. It's unbelievable to think, you know,
- 18:44Speaker 4: how long ago me and Jenna's Promise we're talking about
- 18:47Speaker 4: that and now it's yeah, I look ahead and I,
- 18:49Speaker 4: oh my god, god. I had a rehearsal with Patrick
- 18:52Speaker 4: a couple of days ago, and then i'll have it
- 18:55Speaker 4: the day before Thanksgiving.
- 18:56Speaker 3: I'll have rehearsal with Patty saw that rehearsal. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 19:02Speaker 3: sound good, sounds great.
- 19:04Speaker 4: I'm getting pretty good.
- 19:05Speaker 3: So if we're yeah, I want you to I want
- 19:08Speaker 3: you to play something. Obviously, don't use the guitar close by.
- 19:12Speaker 3: Yeah all right, but you know we're having things. We're
- 19:15Speaker 3: at the Thanksgiving table right here. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 19:18Speaker 3: So well that's wonderful.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Rusty.
- 19:22Speaker 3: So your brother that you don't have telling me that
- 19:28Speaker 3: you've been down at the animal shelter doing some volunteering.
- 19:32Speaker 3: What's that all about?
- 19:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I I I volunteer at n col n c
- 19:37Speaker 4: a L North Country Animal League, which is true. And uh,
- 19:41Speaker 4: we're play acting here, but it's true. Yeah, I do
- 19:43Speaker 4: what you call. You know, I had two orientations, JD.
- 19:47Speaker 4: What you gotta get orientated. One thing you can do
- 19:52Speaker 4: is you can do the laundry. There's a laundry room downstairs.
- 19:55Speaker 4: They got blankets and blankets and blankets. You do the laundry,
- 19:59Speaker 4: and you can the laundry. But you know what you
- 20:01Speaker 4: do before you go down to the laundry. You get
- 20:04Speaker 4: a dog, goes down with you, stands there and then
- 20:08Speaker 4: you can clean the toilets of the cats. I don't
- 20:12Speaker 4: clean the toilets. You can go in and pet the cats.
- 20:15Speaker 4: Sit with a cat in a room that's called pet enrichment.
- 20:19Speaker 4: And today, twelve thirty, I think I'll be doing dogs.
- 20:23Speaker 4: They got a large room. You take the dog out
- 20:25Speaker 4: of the pen, you put the collar. They teach you,
- 20:28Speaker 4: and you open the pen and a dog basically walks
- 20:30Speaker 4: right into the collar. Yeah. And then I sit there
- 20:33Speaker 4: with the dog for supposed to do it like ten minutes.
- 20:35Speaker 4: I do fifteen twenty each dog.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Have you fallen in love? No, that's surprising.
- 20:44Speaker 4: There was one I liked a lot, like her love
- 20:48Speaker 4: like okay, But there was a woman there, grandmother, e
- 20:52Speaker 4: woman with her grandkid, and they were taking it. I
- 20:54Speaker 4: wasn't gonna take that dog. I don't. I can't get
- 20:57Speaker 4: a dog that has too much ambition, you know what
- 20:58Speaker 4: I mean, because I don't want to jumping all over
- 21:00Speaker 4: the house and reckon it. I want one of them ones.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Maybe somebody has a dog and it's like a six
- 21:06Speaker 4: year old dog and it's a relaxed dog. Now you
- 21:09Speaker 4: know that. Once you see you're like, how did that
- 21:10Speaker 4: dog turn out like that? People are just the word
- 21:13Speaker 4: it is, that's what I need. And then a woman
- 21:15Speaker 4: can't take it or something and then she puts it
- 21:17Speaker 4: into n cow. Yeah. I would take one of those.
- 21:21Speaker 4: You save short hair, short hair, that's the way to
- 21:24Speaker 4: go clean.
- 21:27Speaker 5: Uh.
- 21:28Speaker 3: If clean. If the dog gets dirty, they're gonna clean
- 21:32Speaker 3: up fast. Oh, hair mats, tangles.
- 21:36Speaker 4: What's this thing about? If you let them out walking
- 21:38Speaker 4: around in the snow, then you gotta clean this. They
- 21:40Speaker 4: get snow things in their.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Feet sometimes, Okay, depends Yeah, depends on the dock. You
- 21:45Speaker 3: like the little crusties.
- 21:47Speaker 4: Yeah, somebody's telling me every time my dog goes out,
- 21:50Speaker 4: we gotta clean their right snow out of their foot.
- 21:53Speaker 3: Well well yeah, I mean buddy had that too, get
- 21:56Speaker 3: all crusted up. Depends how much hair is between their
- 21:59Speaker 3: two Do you have hair between your toes? I want
- 22:04Speaker 3: to ask you about go ahead the Thanksgiving dress code.
- 22:09Speaker 3: First of all, I know I asked you, but I
- 22:11Speaker 3: will ask you again. Belt or elastic waist pants for us.
- 22:17Speaker 4: I'm trying to think, now, what I will wear. I'll
- 22:19Speaker 4: put on the dog a little bit. Talking about depends
- 22:24Speaker 4: on the pants. Well, for me, I got a belt
- 22:26Speaker 4: on right now. Okay, I know you very well could
- 22:28Speaker 4: wear these pants, but have.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Any does resty de we's have any elastic waist pants?
- 22:33Speaker 4: I have probably one or two. You know what? I have?
- 22:36Speaker 4: Very cool as heck. I got some, yes, sweatpants. They're
- 22:44Speaker 4: those ones that make noise, you know, those kinds. And
- 22:48Speaker 4: it's got the it's got the four white stripes down
- 22:50Speaker 4: the sidet and they're elastic. But I wouldn't wear those.
- 22:59Speaker 4: And they have it. They're they're not wicked warm. I
- 23:00Speaker 4: could have worn them today, but god darn, they must
- 23:02Speaker 4: be thirty years old.
- 23:03Speaker 3: I know, I love those. Yeah. I know someone who
- 23:07Speaker 3: just moved into their new home a few months ago.
- 23:09Speaker 3: It's their first Thanksgiving and she wants to ask the
- 23:15Speaker 3: guests to please not wear football jerseys and sweat pants.
- 23:21Speaker 3: I mean, she's excited, she wants everything to be perfect,
- 23:24Speaker 3: and I get it. But a dress code for Thanksgiving? Again,
- 23:28Speaker 3: I say, I wouldn't feel comfortable saying there's a dress code.
- 23:36Speaker 4: No, No, that's your prerogative. I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 23:39Speaker 4: if someone's saying, hey, come to our Thanksgiving wear certain stuff. Yeah,
- 23:44Speaker 4: that's the that's there. They can if they want. But
- 23:47Speaker 4: on the other hand, inversely, yeah, I think if someone
- 23:51Speaker 4: asked you over to the house, I don't know if
- 23:53Speaker 4: you want to wear sweats and it. You know, you
- 23:57Speaker 4: know what I am. I'm a man that don't hear
- 24:00Speaker 4: what you're wearing. Songs is kind of clean.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Yeah, right, well, I don't.
- 24:04Speaker 4: Care what you wear anyway. But yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yea.
- 24:06Speaker 4: I may were gonna show up at somebody's house. They're
- 24:08Speaker 4: making all this food. Yeah, and you're gonna wear a
- 24:10Speaker 4: cruddy clothes.
- 24:11Speaker 3: No sweatpants, okay's lungs they're clean, sure, logger sweatshirt yeah, okay.
- 24:20Speaker 3: What about decorating for Thanksgiving? No for Christmas? Oh before Thanksgiving.
- 24:28Speaker 3: We've had some really intense conversations about this over the
- 24:33Speaker 3: last month here on aired out. Oh, really very intense.
- 24:38Speaker 3: What's say you about it?
- 24:39Speaker 4: Well, I say, I have a couple of things around
- 24:42Speaker 4: my house right now, but I don't go a whole
- 24:45Speaker 4: hog till and it all start. I'll start off to
- 24:48Speaker 4: Thanksgiving here and there, a couple of things here and there,
- 24:50Speaker 4: here and there, trees, I'll have too in a house.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Real or fake?
- 24:56Speaker 4: What do you saying?
- 24:57Speaker 3: I'm asking you the question. Real.
- 25:00Speaker 4: Real, They're sitting there with tags on them right now
- 25:02Speaker 4: and pains Christmas tree firm them. Babies will be caught
- 25:06Speaker 4: around the sixth or seventh, putting the garage still bundled
- 25:11Speaker 4: fron probably probably around the tenth or eleventh. I'll put
- 25:14Speaker 4: them up start tenth or eleventh. Yeah, of December, maybe
- 25:20Speaker 4: maybe the eighth. All right, so you're waiting till after Thanksgiving? Yeah,
- 25:24Speaker 4: I do that. I mean because but does it drive
- 25:27Speaker 4: you nuts?
- 25:28Speaker 3: In the two weeks before Thanksgiving? You driving around and
- 25:31Speaker 3: see people with the Christmas trees in their house, the
- 25:34Speaker 3: lawns are decorated, don't drive me nuts. The Christmas lights
- 25:38Speaker 3: are up, doesn't bother me. It's all over the stores.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Me.
- 25:46Speaker 4: You gotta understand that this world is not run because
- 25:51Speaker 4: on your rules. You people who are getting upset, don't
- 25:55Speaker 4: be bothered. It's just the way it is.
- 25:56Speaker 3: It's getting sooner and sooner and set.
- 26:00Speaker 4: Of course it is. Listen, I'll go one more for you.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Can we have one holiday at a time? Please?
- 26:06Speaker 4: I'll go one further on you. You're you're these people are
- 26:10Speaker 4: missing the point. Who get upset it it ain't starting early. No, No,
- 26:16Speaker 4: you're talking about other people. Uh, it's not that it's
- 26:20Speaker 4: starting earlier and earlier. Christmas is all year round. You
- 26:25Speaker 4: people who have kids, the kids. Hey, you know it's
- 26:29Speaker 4: like July seventeenth. Yeah, you're just calm down, you want,
- 26:36Speaker 4: I'll put the Grinch in. Hey, it's year round. Now
- 26:39Speaker 4: you can stream this stream that you can see Christmas
- 26:42Speaker 4: stuff August, you can May. There's no, there's no things.
- 26:50Speaker 4: And why because we're a society of non working, non
- 26:54Speaker 4: producing sons of bitches. No, there are a lot of
- 26:56Speaker 4: there are a lot of people that work really hard.
- 26:58Speaker 4: But overall this is the most lax, the daisical, lackadaisical
- 27:05Speaker 4: time of the years of the world. For not I mean, what.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Is it, one hundred and nineteen thousand jobs available unemployments up.
- 27:19Speaker 4: What I mean by that is way up. My father,
- 27:22Speaker 4: as you know, was born in nineteen eleven. Well, so
- 27:25Speaker 4: let's say he's thirty. No, no, let's say he's twenty
- 27:29Speaker 4: five nineteen eleven, nineteen twenty one, twenty thirty one. It
- 27:37Speaker 4: would be thirty six nineteen thirty six. All he did
- 27:42Speaker 4: was work and then go home. That's nineteen thirty six.
- 27:45Speaker 3: That's my father.
- 27:46Speaker 4: He didn't work, go home and put on tombstone or
- 27:51Speaker 4: yellow stone. He didn't stream. There was no TV.
- 27:56Speaker 3: You can have a tombstone and a yellowstone.
- 27:58Speaker 4: When he was when my father was twenty five, no TV.
- 28:02Speaker 4: Why don't I eat between meals? Because my father didn't
- 28:06Speaker 4: eat between meals? Why didn't he eat between meals? There
- 28:09Speaker 4: was nothing to eat between meals. You understand, you didn't
- 28:14Speaker 4: stop at maple fields and get a croissant. There's no
- 28:18Speaker 4: So this is what we have to return to, a
- 28:20Speaker 4: disciplined way of life.
- 28:22Speaker 3: I understand we don't let a few of us have that.
- 28:27Speaker 3: So this what do you expect? Something different?
- 28:30Speaker 4: Sure, somebody's going to have their tree up right now,
- 28:33Speaker 4: let them have it, don't don't let them bother now.
- 28:35Speaker 4: My only thing with that, I put mine up a
- 28:38Speaker 4: little bit later, just because I get all this stuff around,
- 28:41Speaker 4: I get other stuff around. But did they try.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Out a little yeah? Yeah, eighty three percent right now
- 28:49Speaker 3: of people according to the American Christmas Tree Association, there
- 28:55Speaker 3: is such a thing. Eighty three percent according to this
- 28:59Speaker 3: stud what I prefer fake tree now? And it's trending up.
- 29:03Speaker 3: I have I have that going up.
- 29:05Speaker 4: I have heard people I know say to me, look,
- 29:09Speaker 4: They'll say they'll no cleaner. They'll say, well, you know,
- 29:12Speaker 4: we went to a fake tree.
- 29:14Speaker 3: No watering, no needles all over the place, the vacuum
- 29:18Speaker 3: cleaner's running for three months.
- 29:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think they look better, you know. The
- 29:23Speaker 4: part of the yeah, they're more consistent. Part of the
- 29:26Speaker 4: whole thing about me again, it's about our age. That
- 29:29Speaker 4: was the whole tradition to go out and cut your
- 29:31Speaker 4: tree and smell. I can I can harken back going
- 29:35Speaker 4: I was five six years old in Philadelphia. My parents
- 29:38Speaker 4: would bring me and my sister to this place to
- 29:40Speaker 4: get a tree. And it was like a basically like
- 29:42Speaker 4: a nursery, you know, Yeah, turned over into Christmas trees
- 29:45Speaker 4: and oh sure, and there was sawdust on the ground
- 29:49Speaker 4: and all those trees, and there was a warth. You'd
- 29:51Speaker 4: go into place and there was a warm because so
- 29:54Speaker 4: they heat with those trees. It made it smell. So
- 29:59Speaker 4: that was a whole thing.
- 30:00Speaker 3: You know what you do now with your fake tree,
- 30:03Speaker 3: You unscrew I'm serious, you unscrew this little cap thing
- 30:06Speaker 3: and you pour your balsam scented liquid into the center
- 30:11Speaker 3: of the tree. So it's do you have a faki No?
- 30:16Speaker 3: Do I have a faki rus? Don't ever ask me
- 30:21Speaker 3: that question. I am one hundred percent real.
- 30:25Speaker 4: So yeah, so now that now the tradition is faking.
- 30:30Speaker 4: Hey Joe, Hey Sosie, you want to go up into
- 30:34Speaker 4: the attic there and bring down the tree the box there,
- 30:36Speaker 4: it's right next to the area are. So that's the tradition.
- 30:40Speaker 4: I see, that's it, and it's up in a jiffy.
- 30:44Speaker 4: And also I think there are people, you know, financially,
- 30:47Speaker 4: it's a better thing thy right, exactly, it's not a
- 30:49Speaker 4: hundred I know what the winds are.
- 30:52Speaker 3: I know that, I know no water. You know, you
- 30:57Speaker 3: spend you know, a couple of hundred bucks. Some people
- 30:59Speaker 3: spend a one hundred bucks and you got a tree
- 31:01Speaker 3: forever and it looks beautiful. Now they've got these these
- 31:04Speaker 3: trees where I can't remember what the website is, but
- 31:09Speaker 3: I'm going to be talking about it soon as we
- 31:12Speaker 3: get into December. But you get the tree in you
- 31:16Speaker 3: you pull up that, you pull up the top and
- 31:18Speaker 3: the whole thing, oh falls right out. All the lights
- 31:22Speaker 3: are already on it.
- 31:23Speaker 4: Yeah, plug it in, no adjustment, You don't have to
- 31:26Speaker 4: adjust a few of them.
- 31:27Speaker 3: No thirty seconds and it's done. Same thing packing up,
- 31:32Speaker 3: it's like an accordion. I don't know, man, that's just
- 31:35Speaker 3: not my thing. I gotta go out. We cut the
- 31:39Speaker 3: tree down. No matter what. We'll go out raining, snowing, blowing,
- 31:45Speaker 3: doesn't matter.
- 31:46Speaker 4: It's fun as heck.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it's been a tradition for a long time.
- 31:50Speaker 4: Well, me and Emily we tagged mine. Uh three weeks ago.
- 31:55Speaker 4: We go out into the christmastore and I've done it
- 31:57Speaker 4: before in the summer. Really, Oh, come on, I'll go
- 32:00Speaker 4: out with the puff of Seagar Mountain. That tree fire
- 32:03Speaker 4: mayre panes all by myself and I'm puffing, I'm looking.
- 32:06Speaker 4: Ain't nobody cussing around? And you get to that's when
- 32:10Speaker 4: I used to get a twelve footer, and there weren't
- 32:11Speaker 4: that many twelve footers. So I'd like to get ahead
- 32:13Speaker 4: of it.
- 32:14Speaker 3: You know when when you know, you know, when you
- 32:18Speaker 3: see the tree, do you feel this this aura?
- 32:22Speaker 4: No, I'll see one that can work, and then I'll
- 32:26Speaker 4: put my little surveying tape on that one. But then
- 32:30Speaker 4: I'll keep I get two, so then that's what me
- 32:32Speaker 4: and Emily did. We saw one and then we saw
- 32:34Speaker 4: another one that was definitely and then we went that one.
- 32:37Speaker 4: That first one wasn't up to par, and then we
- 32:39Speaker 4: found another one that was good.
- 32:40Speaker 3: So it's in our decision or like the three or
- 32:45Speaker 3: four hours.
- 32:49Speaker 4: That whole thing this year is a forty five minutes. Wow,
- 32:53Speaker 4: fifty minutes.
- 32:53Speaker 3: Maybe cotton hauled out.
- 32:56Speaker 4: We didn't cut it yet.
- 32:58Speaker 3: Oh that's wow. I tagged it just taking all right,
- 33:01Speaker 3: Thanksgiving pie. I want to I want to ask you
- 33:05Speaker 3: about the I want to ask you about the pie.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Seven thousand Americans just surveyed about their favorite pie to
- 33:14Speaker 3: eat on things. All right, Number one gotta be what.
- 33:18Speaker 4: It's got to be.
- 33:19Speaker 3: Pumpkin, Of course it is. Number two apple. I want
- 33:23Speaker 3: to throw I'll throw some here. I want to let's
- 33:27Speaker 3: let's do this. Let's say that Rusty only has room
- 33:31Speaker 3: for one piece of pie. I'm going to list them off.
- 33:37Speaker 3: You've got one piece, that's all you've got room for.
- 33:39Speaker 3: You can't do too, you're too full. I list them off.
- 33:43Speaker 3: You tell me which one you ready? Here we go, Pumpkin, apple, pecan,
- 33:50Speaker 3: sweet potato, chocolate, key line cream pie banana cream pie,
- 34:00Speaker 3: peanut butter pie, cherry or BlackBerry?
- 34:04Speaker 4: Okay, so get it in your head. Which one you
- 34:06Speaker 4: think I'm gonna do? Get it in your head? Don't
- 34:07Speaker 4: say it, because I have one. I have a real answer.
- 34:11Speaker 4: I'm gonna go for you. No, no, no, don't you
- 34:14Speaker 4: say it. I'll say it. And now you tell me
- 34:15Speaker 4: if you did it, if you said, ye's the one.
- 34:18Speaker 3: Hold on, let me write it down, all right, let
- 34:21Speaker 3: me write down my answer.
- 34:22Speaker 4: What I go? Ahead? Yeah, anybody ever get run over
- 34:28Speaker 4: in the street when you were doing a show? Here?
- 34:31Speaker 4: Like you hear? And then okay, I wrote it down. Okay,
- 34:37Speaker 4: here you go. This is this is the true answer.
- 34:39Speaker 4: If those were available, I'd say, I'll have the banana
- 34:42Speaker 4: cream pie. Place you went for pre can, didn't you?
- 34:45Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 34:45Speaker 4: See, I know what you think I would say. You
- 34:51Speaker 4: see what I'm saying? That so gotten done? Good of
- 34:53Speaker 4: a guest.
- 34:54Speaker 3: Banana cream Huh? How that's a good pie?
- 34:57Speaker 4: Man?
- 34:58Speaker 3: You You can't just have one? But I do like
- 35:01Speaker 3: the peak camp pie. You've ever heard of the shoe
- 35:03Speaker 3: fly listen, shoe fly pie.
- 35:05Speaker 4: That's what I used to get for my birthday. My
- 35:08Speaker 4: mother made it. That's a Pennsylvania. She swore it was
- 35:12Speaker 4: a Pennsylvania Dutch situation and the last she used maple syrup.
- 35:18Speaker 4: What dick damn shoefly pie was unbelievable. She'd make two
- 35:22Speaker 4: of them, come on for my birthday. I'm not kidding you.
- 35:25Speaker 4: I would love I'm not kidding you. She would make
- 35:29Speaker 4: probably the last two decades of my life. Now listen
- 35:32Speaker 4: to this. You know where? You know where it gets
- 35:34Speaker 4: its name?
- 35:36Speaker 3: Please tell me?
- 35:37Speaker 4: Are you serious?
- 35:38Speaker 3: You don't know your shoe and the flies?
- 35:40Speaker 4: Do you put the pie on the windoorsill? It's cool?
- 35:47Speaker 4: Get them flies away from it, really because they like
- 35:49Speaker 4: the molasses. Flies like, Hey, you know where you ever
- 35:54Speaker 4: heard that one? What's it called? John pea soup and
- 35:59Speaker 4: john cake? You ever heard that? No? You never heard
- 36:02Speaker 4: Johnny cake?
- 36:03Speaker 3: Well Johnny cake. Yeah, that's like a corn bread.
- 36:06Speaker 4: You know. You know what that really is the name
- 36:09Speaker 4: of it? It was, It's it's an accent that makes
- 36:13Speaker 4: it Johnny cake. It's journey cake. You make it for
- 36:18Speaker 4: the guys when they come back from the journey, and
- 36:21Speaker 4: it's called journey cake. But they used to sit where
- 36:26Speaker 4: they were from Boston. Hey, Johnny cake, you want some
- 36:28Speaker 4: Johnny Cake. I'm serious. I've heard and read that. I
- 36:34Speaker 4: don't know that that.
- 36:35Speaker 3: So the shoefly is molasses pie topped with cinnamon spiced crumble.
- 36:40Speaker 3: Tell me if I'm right. Part of the crumble sinks.
- 36:44Speaker 4: It gets in there to the So the top is
- 36:46Speaker 4: like when you're skiing and it's icy this much down, Yeah.
- 36:51Speaker 3: With the gooey molasses at the bottom.
- 36:53Speaker 4: Yeah, and my mom had this like nice flaky crust.
- 36:57Speaker 4: I'm sorry to.
- 36:58Speaker 3: God, Rush, let's talk. Go ahead, Black Friday versus Cyber
- 37:04Speaker 3: Monday versus Giving Tuesday. What are you saying about this?
- 37:10Speaker 3: Because Black Friday is that's the time to flip things back.
- 37:15Speaker 3: We're going from red to black. It's a people freak
- 37:19Speaker 3: out over Black Friday. People finish their Thanksgiving dinners and
- 37:28Speaker 3: right in the car on the way to the store.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Because it's not Friday anymore. It's Thursday. Now, it's gray Thursday.
- 37:35Speaker 3: It's Black Friday.
- 37:37Speaker 4: What do they do? They can jop on Thursday?
- 37:39Speaker 3: Yes?
- 37:40Speaker 4: Oh, is that right?
- 37:40Speaker 3: Because the Black Friday deals are going earlier, and because
- 37:44Speaker 3: you got to beat the next guy, you got to
- 37:46Speaker 3: go sooner than the next the next guy. What do
- 37:50Speaker 3: you what do you say about it's all of this again.
- 37:54Speaker 4: I guess I'm a living let live guy. I mean,
- 37:55Speaker 4: I don't care if if if if someone's like, hey,
- 37:59Speaker 4: we gotta go that we can eat with your rush. Thanks,
- 38:01Speaker 4: but we're gonna leave and say, yeah, fine, go go shopping,
- 38:04Speaker 4: I don't hear. I mean, that's what I think about that.
- 38:08Speaker 4: I think if people are getting deals, let them get deals.
- 38:10Speaker 4: And then by the way, we're talking about our little
- 38:13Speaker 4: traditions and piece you know, god damn you fly play.
- 38:19Speaker 4: This is what some people's traditions are. They go shopping
- 38:23Speaker 4: on Black Friday. It's a tradition. They eat it lums lunch,
- 38:27Speaker 4: you know what I mean. You know what I mean.
- 38:30Speaker 4: So and they eat lums that have their they get
- 38:34Speaker 4: their traditional thing there and everything else.
- 38:38Speaker 3: That's it.
- 38:39Speaker 4: Let it be.
- 38:40Speaker 3: What do you think about this? This? This pizza pizza
- 38:45Speaker 3: rheas that are doing a Thanksgiving pizza. They're making Thanksgiving pizzas.
- 38:52Speaker 4: When we got turkey on there and gravy, I know, well,
- 38:57Speaker 4: I guess it'd be just it'd be like just like
- 39:00Speaker 4: a biscuit, you know, but a big flat biscuit and
- 39:03Speaker 4: all that haw's our eyes on top of it one shot. No,
- 39:06Speaker 4: I like to segregate my freaking food there. Yeah, I
- 39:10Speaker 4: don't like to mix them in.
- 39:12Speaker 3: Yeah, pizza's pizza.
- 39:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:15Speaker 3: But the gas that comes from the turkey flatulence. Flatulence, Yeah,
- 39:22Speaker 3: everybody gets it. Everybody has.
- 39:24Speaker 4: Some people probably do it more of a degree than others.
- 39:27Speaker 4: I mean, it depends on what you're eating. I think,
- 39:29Speaker 4: you know, my dad used to call them colorabas and uh,
- 39:32Speaker 4: Brussels sprouts. Oh, the Brussels sprouts will blow you up
- 39:35Speaker 4: if if you know what I mean. They can.
- 39:39Speaker 3: Some people are going for a walk to digest, to
- 39:43Speaker 3: get some fresh air, well to get away from Aunt Betty.
- 39:45Speaker 3: Other people are going for a walk to rip.
- 39:48Speaker 4: I had bet you did. She was great Betty and Walt,
- 39:51Speaker 4: Uncle Walt and Aunt Betty. They were my godparents. Uh yeah,
- 39:56Speaker 4: Well I told you I'm going to the place I'm
- 39:58Speaker 4: going to. He's got a big byron out there, and
- 40:00Speaker 4: you woulds don't. We'll go out there after the path, well,
- 40:04Speaker 4: path will be off from the table. That'll be five
- 40:06Speaker 4: or six other people that are left behind.
- 40:08Speaker 3: Now do you ever do you ever worry about you know,
- 40:15Speaker 3: trip to fan affecting your you know, it's supposed to
- 40:19Speaker 3: make you sleepy. You know, it's an ensign in the
- 40:22Speaker 3: turkey and trip to fans in in bananas too, I think.
- 40:27Speaker 3: But do you ever worry about the trip to fan
- 40:33Speaker 3: maybe affecting uh, you know, desire performance?
- 40:39Speaker 4: Oh that's trip to fan thing now, the biggest bunch
- 40:41Speaker 4: of malarkey. Yeah, because if it was true, setting down
- 40:49Speaker 4: eating three four slivers of turkey made you sleep, if
- 40:54Speaker 4: it was trip defan, if it was true, then people
- 41:00Speaker 4: who have trouble sleeping would be getting what's the doctor
- 41:09Speaker 4: do that prescribe to eat turkey? Who do you know?
- 41:14Speaker 4: Of your friends? And your whole life is getting to
- 41:16Speaker 4: be quite a free years. It's come up to me
- 41:19Speaker 4: and said, you know, Jesus, how you doing? You say
- 41:21Speaker 4: to him? How do you? Oh? God name, I had
- 41:24Speaker 4: a rough spell. I wasn't sleeping. Oh yeah, why not?
- 41:27Speaker 4: Well I got you know, everything's on my mind and
- 41:30Speaker 4: we're getting a crappy tree this year. I just wasn't
- 41:32Speaker 4: sleeping JD. And well, how are you doing now? Doing
- 41:35Speaker 4: good now? Because the doctor told me I should eat
- 41:39Speaker 4: some turkey before I go to bed, because there's trip
- 41:42Speaker 4: to fan, isn't it. No one does that there's no
- 41:46Speaker 4: trip to fan. There's nothing in turkey meal that makes
- 41:49Speaker 4: you sleepy. You're sleepy because you got up, you loaded
- 41:52Speaker 4: the car with a bunch of hazar eye, which is
- 41:55Speaker 4: the Yiddish word for junk. You drove over, You ate
- 42:00Speaker 4: way way way too much. The house you drove to
- 42:04Speaker 4: is way, way way too warm. You eat, and then
- 42:10Speaker 4: what do you do? You sit down. That's why you
- 42:15Speaker 4: fall asleep. It's not tripped the fan or instead of
- 42:20Speaker 4: prescribing dummies to these people that don't sleep good, all
- 42:24Speaker 4: the gold darned doctors be doing is say go get
- 42:27Speaker 4: a couple of hanks of turkey needed every night. There's
- 42:29Speaker 4: trip the fan in there to put you're right to sleep.
- 42:31Speaker 4: You see, that's a fallacy.
- 42:38Speaker 3: What about uh? Speaking of of meat, I.
- 42:40Speaker 4: Get right up after Thanksgiving dinner and run right over.
- 42:43Speaker 4: You run up a tree, shout out to the world, Hello, Hello,
- 42:49Speaker 4: I don't get tired speaking.
- 42:51Speaker 3: Of of of of turkey is in meat? Have you
- 42:58Speaker 3: ever had a fried turkey?
- 43:00Speaker 4: Have?
- 43:00Speaker 3: I never have?
- 43:01Speaker 4: I've heard of him?
- 43:02Speaker 3: What about a smoked turkey?
- 43:04Speaker 4: I've had smoked turkey, but not per se Thanksgiving me.
- 43:09Speaker 4: My mom used to smoke when we ate the turkey. Yeah,
- 43:15Speaker 4: back in the sixties.
- 43:16Speaker 3: Are you shitting me?
- 43:19Speaker 4: I don't think she had cigarettes at the table. No, no,
- 43:22Speaker 4: but she was smoking them when she was cooking it
- 43:24Speaker 4: back in the sixties.
- 43:26Speaker 3: Sure, did your mom ever smoke a turkey?
- 43:31Speaker 4: Oh? My parents weren't hunters.
- 43:33Speaker 3: Okay for you, ross personal question.
- 43:41Speaker 4: But you gotta love that. Go ahead. I had a
- 43:48Speaker 4: girlfriend didn't like that.
- 43:50Speaker 3: Really, I love it.
- 43:54Speaker 4: She didn't like shit her hurt her ears, so then
- 43:56Speaker 4: I would do it low and then and then she's
- 44:00Speaker 4: started to do it. She couldn't whistle, this girl, so
- 44:02Speaker 4: she ended up doing this and I thought that was
- 44:05Speaker 4: so goddamn cute, and then she dumped me twice.
- 44:08Speaker 3: So go ahead, let's pretend I'm getting a prostating sam.
- 44:10Speaker 3: Ready you do it. Here we go.
- 44:16Speaker 4: We don't want to talk about prostates. I know all
- 44:18Speaker 4: about that.
- 44:20Speaker 3: For you, very personal question. Light meat or dark meat?
- 44:30Speaker 3: I like the dark.
- 44:34Speaker 4: I really do prefer the dark. Yeah. To me, it's richer.
- 44:41Speaker 4: I like the way it's you cut it. It's not
- 44:44Speaker 4: there's something to it. Yeah, And an added bonus is
- 44:51Speaker 4: most people don't like the dark meat, so I can
- 44:54Speaker 4: go a whole hog on that. I do like the
- 44:57Speaker 4: dark meat. I'm not even kid you. It's hard like
- 45:01Speaker 4: a turd, you know. The white meat just a flimsy, flimsy.
- 45:09Speaker 3: I want you to, uh if if you don't mind,
- 45:12Speaker 3: just give a shout out to Glenn prummert he got
- 45:14Speaker 3: his first year in a long, nice long time.
- 45:19Speaker 4: Well we know.
- 45:20Speaker 3: Eight point buck hasn't been hunting in hundreds of years
- 45:27Speaker 3: and he finally got out and he got an a pointer.
- 45:30Speaker 4: He won't have to worry about no turkey man.
- 45:34Speaker 3: And uh a shout to Rex. Rex is going to
- 45:37Speaker 3: be doing the the the Thanksgiving uh pizza.
- 45:45Speaker 4: And I yeah, yeah to me that yeah, I mean,
- 45:51Speaker 4: I okay, I just a little do it.
- 45:54Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah he is. Because who's putting grave and turkey
- 46:00Speaker 3: and mashed potatoes on their pizza? Rex?
- 46:03Speaker 4: Apparently Rex, geez, the other guy's the other guy got
- 46:07Speaker 4: the deer. He's putting deer on it.
- 46:09Speaker 3: Well, yeah, that that I would I wouldn't mind that.
- 46:12Speaker 4: You know what, That's funny. Some uh some pizza place
- 46:16Speaker 4: around Vermont or whatever ought to have venison pizza.
- 46:20Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 46:20Speaker 4: Yeah, they have to they have to get the venison,
- 46:23Speaker 4: you know, And that would be funny. That would be
- 46:25Speaker 4: kind of a novelty thing. You know what's going on
- 46:27Speaker 4: over in Stow? You're you're over at the Artisan. What's
- 46:30Speaker 4: happening is a coffee and tea wholesalers I have. In fact,
- 46:36Speaker 4: I warmed me up some tea and before I come
- 46:39Speaker 4: here Artisan, it was a ginger lemongrass makes the cash
- 46:44Speaker 4: smell good. And they have a big warehouse in between
- 46:49Speaker 4: Waterbury and Stowe and Root one hundred. If you're going
- 46:52Speaker 4: towards Stow, it's a big red building and on one
- 46:55Speaker 4: end of it they do coffee glasses and everything. You
- 46:57Speaker 4: learn how to make coffee.
- 47:00Speaker 3: Yeah, they learn how to be barista, yeah, and.
- 47:03Speaker 4: How to do pour overs at your house. Anyway, I'm
- 47:05Speaker 4: doing a writing writing performance class. I teach that now
- 47:10Speaker 4: for six years at People's Academy in Morrisville, and now
- 47:15Speaker 4: Artistsan and I are teaming up and we're going to
- 47:17Speaker 4: offer it for the general public and there'll be notifications
- 47:21Speaker 4: on it, and maybe I'll give a shout out on here.
- 47:24Speaker 4: Mid February through mid March. Seven classes. You go home,
- 47:30Speaker 4: you write a poem, say, or comedy or some a
- 47:34Speaker 4: dramatic piece. Then you come into the class, you get
- 47:38Speaker 4: up on stage and you present it, you perform it,
- 47:40Speaker 4: so it's very I did it one time a long
- 47:44Speaker 4: time ago for the general public, but for the kids
- 47:46Speaker 4: at school, it's sort of like a therapy thing. It's
- 47:49Speaker 4: very uplifting. It makes you feel good, you know how
- 47:53Speaker 4: it is when you're on stage and you do something. Sure,
- 47:55Speaker 4: so there's folks and then I don't I'm not critical.
- 47:59Speaker 4: But after you you've done it and then we work
- 48:01Speaker 4: on it. You're standing up there still in front of
- 48:03Speaker 4: the other seven students or whatever, and you're like, did
- 48:06Speaker 4: you hear you say that word? Again? I'll take notes,
- 48:09Speaker 4: say the say the world's ferret line? You hear that line?
- 48:12Speaker 4: Did you hear it? There's seven people here and they
- 48:14Speaker 4: all laughed, so you know that that's funny. So right now,
- 48:18Speaker 4: one down, keep that one yeah, and you know that
- 48:20Speaker 4: type of thing, or it could be a poem. And
- 48:22Speaker 4: then the seventh class there's a performance. You have Lily
- 48:27Speaker 4: and Sherilyn come. You stand up on stage. There's a
- 48:31Speaker 4: beautiful place in their warehouse to have a put sixty
- 48:35Speaker 4: chairs down and have a really yeah yeah, and then
- 48:38Speaker 4: during it you can have the artists and coffee. You'll
- 48:40Speaker 4: be served and little little pieces of shoe high. So
- 48:48Speaker 4: that's what's going on. Yeah, that'll be on my Instagram
- 48:51Speaker 4: is Rusty dot Dewez and you'll be able to get on.
- 48:54Speaker 4: You'll be able to register for that class. It's gonna
- 48:57Speaker 4: be dirt ass cheap. I think it's gonna be twenty
- 48:59Speaker 4: five bucks a person.
- 49:01Speaker 3: Why yeah, wow? All right, and maybe get I'll keep
- 49:06Speaker 3: an eye in your social media and you should sneak
- 49:09Speaker 3: back in here. Man, Christmas. Are we doing Christmas together?
- 49:13Speaker 4: Well, we ain't doing Christmas together, but I'll come over
- 49:15Speaker 4: here and we'll do show.
- 49:20Speaker 3: It's always fun. You want me to I do want
- 49:22Speaker 3: you to play? Yeah? Yeah, anything you want? Man, all right,
- 49:28Speaker 3: tell me how Yeah, no, that's that's fine. Rusty dew
- 49:34Speaker 3: Ease the logger in the studio with a russ. How
- 49:39Speaker 3: many years have we been on the air together doing Thanksgiving?
- 49:45Speaker 4: Wow?
- 49:47Speaker 3: Wow, it's it's gotta be.
- 49:53Speaker 4: Well, just in general, how when did you start at Froggy?
- 49:56Speaker 3: When did you started? Started at Froggy in two thousand,
- 50:00Speaker 3: so that's twenty five years. But even before that, in
- 50:03Speaker 3: the late nineties over at WDEV you were on the air.
- 50:06Speaker 3: That's right, that's right, that's right. God Man.
- 50:08Speaker 4: So I'd say between twenty five and thirty years. I've
- 50:12Speaker 4: been doing knots the logger for thirty one years.
- 50:19Speaker 3: Unreal, amazing. And you're self taught on the guitar.
- 50:38Speaker 4: Yeah, well, yeah, I've taken some lessons. I mean, when
- 50:41Speaker 4: you're playing with people that are better than you, you're learning.
- 50:45Speaker 4: It's not like they're saying do this, do that.
- 50:47Speaker 3: So tell me about this guitar. Did you get it
- 50:50Speaker 3: from Walmart?
- 50:52Speaker 4: Guy named Mark Birds, he's twenty six year old luthier
- 50:57Speaker 4: down and he's making me another one. Did you know
- 50:59Speaker 4: that out? It's going to come in December. It's a
- 51:04Speaker 4: couple of wells, well Fred so a guy made this
- 51:08Speaker 4: and it's a beautiful guitar. In the backing sides are
- 51:11Speaker 4: what you call sinker mahogany. That means it was in
- 51:15Speaker 4: the bottom of a body of water for one hundred
- 51:18Speaker 4: and fifty years, seriously, and then the top is spruce.
- 51:26Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 51:41Speaker 4: I wish I was down on some blue by who
- 51:50Speaker 4: with a bamboo cane.
- 51:55Speaker 6: Stuck in the sand. But the road I'm on don't
- 52:05Speaker 6: seem to go there, so I'll.
- 52:11Speaker 7: Just dream keep on being the way I am.
- 52:19Speaker 4: I wish I enjoyed. What makes my leave do what
- 52:29Speaker 4: I do m hm with a willing hand.
- 52:38Speaker 5: Some would run, but they have might like them.
- 52:50Speaker 8: I'll just dream, keep on being the way I have,
- 52:58Speaker 8: the way I don't fit my shackles h.
- 53:09Speaker 4: Way, I mm.
- 53:15Speaker 8: Reality.
- 53:18Speaker 4: I can know most that Barber days. I'll just keep
- 53:31Speaker 4: on dreaming and being where I am. I haven't played
- 53:42Speaker 4: it for a while. I didn't know those chords, but
- 53:43Speaker 4: I found them. Wow, dude, you like that.
- 53:46Speaker 3: I like that you're doing that with h with Patrick.
- 53:50Speaker 4: Good chance will start out with that one.
- 53:52Speaker 3: December fifth Jenna's promise.
- 53:55Speaker 4: Yeah, good Chance will start out with that one. Yeah,
- 54:01Speaker 4: we'll do that for This guitar is handmade for me specifically.
- 54:05Speaker 4: It's the size of a Martin D twenty eight dreadnought.
- 54:09Speaker 4: So the body, it's a big whip. It's a big
- 54:10Speaker 4: bodied guitar.
- 54:12Speaker 3: Just put your foot on that. But if you can't, Yeah,
- 54:16Speaker 3: I see that.
- 54:17Speaker 4: It was just beautiful.
- 54:18Speaker 3: It's beautiful. Any any murtle can you do? Some murle.
- 55:00Speaker 4: Anvis covered cabin in the crowded labor came stand out
- 55:09Speaker 4: in this memory. I revise.
- 55:16Speaker 7: Cause my daddy ess the family there with too hard
- 55:22Speaker 7: working hands tried to feed my mama's hungry eyes.
- 55:33Speaker 4: She dreamed of something better. My Mama's faith was strong
- 55:42Speaker 4: in us kids, was just too young to realize. Got
- 55:50Speaker 4: another class of people put us somewhere just below. One
- 55:59Speaker 4: more reson son for my mama's hungry eyes. Mama never
- 56:09Speaker 4: had the luxuries she wanted. But it wasn't cause my
- 56:19Speaker 4: daddy didn't try. She only wanted things she really needed.
- 56:33Speaker 4: One more reason for my mama's hungry eyes. M Oh,
- 56:42Speaker 4: I still recall my mama's hungry eyes at the morrow.
- 56:53Speaker 4: Beautiful buddy, Wow, it's early in the morning.
- 56:58Speaker 3: Jeez, sounds great. God, yeah, incredible. This is such a
- 57:05Speaker 3: treat for so here. I listening thing for you.
- 57:09Speaker 4: It's called maple sugar. Maple sugar, that's what you're gonna
- 57:54Speaker 4: put right on your yams? Did you write that? That's
- 57:59Speaker 4: an old to Christ? Is that classic?
- 58:05Speaker 3: Wouldn't surprise me if you did, right?
- 58:06Speaker 4: Got some songs are rip, but we ain't gonna do them.
- 58:10Speaker 4: I'm going racing mom and Dad, but I will soon
- 58:13Speaker 4: be back. I'm pretty sure tonight won't be the night
- 58:17Speaker 4: I tame that thunder road track. Mom said, no worry, Sun,
- 58:23Speaker 4: No worry Rice, So we don't care if you place one,
- 58:27Speaker 4: two or three. The dad said these words I live
- 58:33Speaker 4: by now, and he spoke okay to me.
- 58:44Speaker 7: M hm.
- 58:50Speaker 4: He said, it's the close to the bench rise. It's
- 58:53Speaker 4: the fastest way around. Don't run so hard back in
- 58:57Speaker 4: Starcus line. If you let phone gas, you're gonna beat
- 59:02Speaker 4: him to the line. I wage your dang near every time. Russe,
- 59:05Speaker 4: sty're close to the fence to past his way around Dad.
- 59:11Speaker 4: Just to say, Russ money, it's easy to get you say.
- 59:15Speaker 4: All you're gonna do with Russ is work. You'll have plenty.
- 59:20Speaker 4: See look cross the streets. See that fella over there,
- 59:23Speaker 4: he'll pay you to Mo's loan just because you don't
- 59:26Speaker 4: want to muss his hair? How does that work over you?
- 59:30Speaker 4: And you'll have to come to December fifth to hear
- 59:34Speaker 4: the rest of that song.
- 59:35Speaker 3: She's buddy, I love it man, fantastic. I want I
- 59:40Speaker 3: want you to, if you would, I want you to
- 59:47Speaker 3: take us out this morning with your guitar. But before
- 59:50Speaker 3: you do, final question for you, because I I and
- 59:54Speaker 3: I have to. I always ask you this when we
- 59:58Speaker 3: do our annual Thanksgiving show, and it's I'm not going
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: to miss it. I'm just not going to miss it.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: Which football games are you going to be watching on
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: Thanksgiving Day?
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: If they never play another game of football, I'll be content.
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: It's the most violent, vicious, bullshitted ass bunch of god
- 1:00:32Speaker 4: darned huzer eye. And what do we do? Every Sunday
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: used to be the Sabbath. We'd go worship whoever we
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: might worship. We might be a Jewish perer, we might
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: be whatever. We might be Christian, we might be Catholic
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: or Protestant. We would worship, we would we would commune.
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: Now what do we do? We sit on our fat
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: asses and watch a bunch of feathers run into each
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: other with the intent of harm while we see the
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: stands full of eighty to one hundred thousand people who
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: are basically three sheets to the wind. And my last
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: thought on that is everybody's going around over divided. We're divided. Oh,
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: things are awful, things, You're awful. I don't buy it.
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: First of all, we ain't divided. Second of all, if
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: things are so awful every Sunday, when you got I
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: don't know how many games you got, sixteen twenty games
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: of football every Sunday and there's sixty eighty one hundred
